The City of Brightport

Brightport is a city known to be home to the less respectable of folk. Many a thief and assassin make their lively hoods in Brightport, though there are also plenty in the city with no lively hood outside of ‘drunk’. The city is run by the three “Houses of Brightport”, who rule over the city by casting votes using their totems. Each totem amounts to 33% of the final vote, and each house owns one. The houses are Silverclaw, Dragonskeep, and Hammerhand, and each have an such an invested stake in the votes that they often land in stalemate.

Elnar KhadDrowThiefA former member of a gang run by a human named Blackteeth, Elnar set out on his own shortly after Blackteeth's death. He eventually gained notice of House Silverclaw and is currently trying to gain entrance as a member. His main objective is to monitor House Dragonkeep and look for any chance to steal the Golden Dragon.
Kael'thasDrowBeggarBeggars are no strange image in Brightport and Kael'thas is no exception. He is frequently seen at the entrances to the city, trying to meet travelers who have a little extra bit of gold.
Kemp MasterElfDrunkIf one were to visit any of the bars in Brightport, they are most likely to encounter Kemp in at least one. No one has any idea where his money comes from, just that he always has enough to cover his quite extensive tabs.
Rignus WolframTieflingHitmanNot everyone can afford the services of House Silverclaw. Those that cannot often are referred to Rignus. Rignus is known in certain circles to make sure that people disappear for the right price.
Adrian WhitleyTiefling"Legitimate Businessman"Ever since he was young, Adrian has looked up to one person: Graddik the Wanted. He has started his own small business, specializing in hard-to-locate items. He has been seen colluding with a human seller named Bob recently.
MitharisDrowMageFormer member of House Darksbane, Mitharis is constantly seeking knowledge. He was is currently working in a bookshop after fleeing during the fall of Darksbane, though he has sent several letters requesting to join House Dragonskeep
Bob GatlinHumanSeller of "Wares"If you want it, Bob can get it. Known for helping find some of the rarer materials for House Darksbane, given enough time, Bob can produce whatever it is you want, especially since his definition of "legal" is a bit gray.
Ogg FolicstompOrcBarberOgg is not your typical Orc. He was raised by loving, human parents after being abandoned as a young orc. Shown the finer, gentler side of life, Ogg became the proprietor of the Dainty Orge, a full service salon offering free bagels to its customers. With his head stylist, Guy, the Dainty Orge is a favorite spot among locals of all races and sizes.

SeavenGnomeForgerSeaven has always wondered how things work. Even as a child, he would rather take apart his toys than play with them. This led him to a life of tinkering, fixing and creating new things. Any visiting merchant in port knows to stop by Seaven, as he will pay top price for some new materials.
OxburyHalflingWaiterStationed at one of Brightport's more upscale inns, Oxbury serves as the waiter in the bar, as well as occasional barkeep. Always jovial, Oxbury's motto is "Service is a Smile." It is quite amusing having the Halfling as a barkeep, as he has to run across the bar itself to provide service.
Jorvik HovgaardTieflingPirateEver the wretched hive of scum and villainy, Brightport is port-of-call for many pirates, Jorvik included. He spends most of his time sailing and pillaging around Drake Island and south in the Cerulean Sea. However, any time he needs to resupply and have some shore leave for his crew, Jorvik's preference is to dock at Brightport.
Alefist HopweaverDwarfFighter for HireA former member of House Hammerhand, Alefist decided a life of gold was more enjoyable than one of honor. A strong fighter, Alefist is usually hired as protection from bandits for merchants traveling to and from Brightport.
Vurmined TerrasilDrowAssassinAn assassin for House Silverclaw, Vurmined was part of the squad sent to Onak-Al. Specializing in poisons, Vurmined can often be seen either in his room experiments or in the library researching various plants.
CharletteHalf-ElfAssassinA member of House Silverclaw, Charlette's official role is one of a messenger and errand girl for the house. However, unknown to much of the public, she is a highly trained assassin for the house. Her specialty is infiltrating areas where a drow may be more suspicious.
ShadowedspawnHumanBeggarNobody knows his true name or what he does. All that is known of the beggar is his name of Shadowedspawn. He appeared one day on a ship, disembarked and became a permanent sight in the docks, trying to gather what he can from generous souls.
Shannon Ap Finn Ni Rhiannon O Bui SuilDrowCircus PerformerOne of Brightport's more colorful sights Shannon is a high-flying trapeze artist who has made her residence in town. Though she is not there all the time, she regularly visits and performs benefit acts to help some of the poorer beings.
LillianTieflingPickpocketA small time pickpocket, Lillian is usually seen around the market district close to House Dragonkeep. Her favorite place to frequent was around a melon stand but it was recently destroyed...

VirmilDrowCorrupt Town GuardBorn in Brightport, Virmil had a love for the town that might not be understood by others. This led him to want to protect it as much as possible. However, his upbringing has also taught him the value of gold and how looking the other way at certain times can help him personally.

Culdreth-KaDrowLibrarianNot all of House Silverclaw's activities involve stealth and treachery. During their down time, members are encouraged to visit the library, run by Culdreth-Ka. Though not a usual member, people know not to cross the librarian. Rumor has it that even Oolanda is afraid of Culdreth-Ka after an encounter stemming from an overdue book.
JerickerHalf-DwarfTailorDespite the city's sordid reputation, Jericker does what he can to present a finer side of the town. This tailor creates some of the finest quality clothes in the market district. However, the majority of his clients need him for either funeral wear or fixing stab holes.

TrindleHalflingBardWhat was once a curiosity is now more of a standard around town. Trindle the bard has his weekly appearance at the bars for his adult clientele. He is more popular with children though, as they find the small Halfling with his riding dog Barow quite amusing.
Ziggs TorrinHumanWhoreZiggs is first and foremost, a gentleman. Though some may consider his work at the Supple Companion lewd, he realizes that there is a need for certain services to be performed. If someone is going to get paid to do it, why shouldn't that someone be him?
Hobs GablingHalflingGamblerA small person with a large gambling problem, Hobs is seen frequenting Brightport's many gambling joints. He is quite skilled at most games, though his favorite pastime is gambling on the cockfights.
Zo-Zo Half OrcBarbarianWith a twisted sense of justice, Zo-Zo is a self-proclaimed "Protector of the People." He constantly patrols the streets, looking to stop any muggings or crimes that he sees. His definition of a crime is very loose and people are starting to think that he is just looking for an excuse to fight.
Dogma ApparatchikHumanClericThere is never a lack of need for a cleric in Brightport. From muggings to STDs, bar fights to stab wounds, Dogma never questions why a person needs healing, only that they can pay. The less scrupulous populous of Brightport know that Dogma is a Cleric they can trust.
Lucas MasonHumanPickpocketA relative newcomer to the streets of Brightport, Lucas fell victim to the City of Thieves. In turn, he became that which deprived him: a pickpocket. While slow going originally, he is getting better and is slowly expanding area he "hunts", which is causing some tension with a Tiefling named Lillian.
John SzaszHumanMurdererIf you want someone to disappear, you can contract Silverclaw, hire out less expensive options, or hire John. John is not an assassin nor is he protected by a house. He is protected by fear. People have a tendency to disappear randomly in relation to John. However, any attempt to apprehend him have not been successful. No one knows what happens in his house, just that people usually do not leave after entering.
CheaseHalf-ElfBakerTrying to make an honest living in Brightport is not easy, so Chease never tried that hard at it. Though the bakery is able to hold up on its own, Chease is also moonlighting as a thief at nights to scrape by.
