Everything new listeners ask us, in one place — what we are, how the show works, and how to get more of it.

Dungeons & Randomness is a long-running actual-play Dungeons & Dragons podcast, telling stories in the world of Theria since 2012. We're known for epic roleplay and deep world-building — multiple casts and campaigns, one shared world, and a level of continuity you don't find in most actual-play shows.

Most actual-play shows follow one party through one story. We run multiple groups on their own separate storylines, playing in the same world at the same time — and what one group does actually affects the others. A choice one party makes can change what's available, who's alive, or how the world looks for a completely different group's campaign down the line. It's one world's story, told from multiple angles, and it's been building since 2012.

We currently play Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition from EN Publishing — think D&D, but with more depth for character building and storytelling. We started on 4th Edition D&D and moved to 5th Edition before landing on Level Up, and that history shows up in how the world and its systems have grown over the years.

New episodes release weekly, every Monday.

D&R is a live actual-play show made for adult listeners — it includes language, violence, and mature themes you'd expect from an unscripted D&D game. It's not written for kids, so use your judgment the way you would for any other adult fantasy content.

Theria is the shared world every D&R campaign has taken place in since the show began. Frostbourne is the campaign currently playing out in it — our newest story, and the best place for new listeners to start.

The Adventurer's Guide to Theria, Volume 1: Ellara and Volume 2: Ta'Lor are both available on DriveThruRPG, with links on our World page. They're the official setting guides to Theria, written by the team behind the show.

Join the D&R Guild on Patreon — it's how we're able to keep producing episodes every single week. We've got six tiers to choose from, and depending on your level you can get ad-free episodes, bonus campaigns, behind-the-scenes content, exclusive lore deep dives, live workshops with Jason, and even a seat at a monthly D&D game with the cast. See the full tier breakdown.

You can also join our Discord for free — it's the heart of the D&R community, where you can talk theories with other listeners, interact directly with the cast and with Jason, and get a front-row seat to the show between episodes.

Yes. Theriathon is our annual one-shot livestream event, and we also appear at conventions like Dragon Con. Check the Events page for upcoming dates.
