Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason. I'm the Dungeon Master. Going around the table. Start with Rob. Hey, I'm Robert Weaselhahn. I play Malkus Grimnast, Tiefling Warlock. And Kelsey. Hey, I'm Kelsey, and I play Diana Astross, Tiefling Mage. And Dan. Hi, I'm Dan Phelps. I play Duncan Joybatam, Dwarven Bard. And Justin. Hey, my name is Justin. I play Dirthag, the Orc Barbarian. And Tom. Hey, everybody.

I'm Tom. I play Yandere, the Sick Minotaur. Sick as a-- Sick like totally metal? Yeah, man. Sick. I'm rad. Sick. Last time on the show, you guys made it to Uminyiro. You handed off the putrid virus to one of the archmages there that Diana felt like she could trust. Then you met up with Malkus, who has apparently been hiding in Uminyiro for at least a couple of weeks. Are we going to rest overnight? Yeah, I think we did that. That was the thing. Oh, we did? I thought the last thing we did was toast. OK, we're not picking up directly. Yeah, I would say that you're leaving the city now.

I'm just asking if there's anything you'd like to do before you get on the road. Malkus probably has to get himself permanently excused from his duties because it was kind of a job, but also he probably wasn't very good at it because he's a charisma-based spellcaster. So he's probably been an organized guy. Two-week internship. Just goes on his lunch break and doesn't check back in. Right. He's like a temp. Here's the thing. This was almost a personal favor from Aladdin Duskwalker. You were not hired for your exceeding expertise in research or anything. This was like, yeah, we're just going to put you in the most entry-level position.

Malkus's entire job was to fetch books. That was it. People come to him with a list of stuff. He goes and gets the books from the shelf, hands them to the person looking for them. That was the extent of his job, essentially. The thonians were killing me. He looks scary now also. Yeah, it would not be hard for him to wriggle out of his position there. I even imagine it, like, Malkus would go hat in hand. He's like, the time's come for me to go. I'm sorry. And they're just like, all right. It's almost that. You were employed for 36 hours. Right. Well, you want a gold watch?

What do you-- [LAUGHTER] Um, maybe before-- Retirement plan. One thing I do want to know-- Malkus. Yes. Malkus? Yes. Yes. So you know my good friend, Ynward. And this is our new friend. Have we introduced you to Gertheg yet? I only briefly greeted him in the bar, but more or less. Well, me and Diana have horses to ride. But Gynward and Gertheg were both riding the same horse, and a dragon ate it. So is there-- are there horses or anything that we could pick up around here? I get blisters. Malkus thinks to himself and consults the Dungeon Master. [LAUGHTER] Hey, god.

Got any horses? Oh, no, no. Just like, does he know of a place to get horses in town? OK, not in Uminyero, no. The other thing of note would be that Gertheg was riding with-- these horses are going to start getting crowded, because Gertheg was riding with Ynward on Oliver, and then Oliver was eaten. So you only have two horses for a party of five. Right, that's why I'm asking if there's any more horses possible. Well, I mean, like, Diana could-- and whoever else wants to ride the other horse. But I think you can ride horses and just go at a walking pace.

Right, that's the other thing. The town of Aldmor, that would be your nearest horse repository. Like, you can totally get one in Aldmor. Do they have Pegasus? Would Nalkin know that? I want a magic horse, Jason. Most towns, I mean, that's something that's pretty standard adventure knowledge. Like, most towns, they would have some stable or something you could buy horses from, or rent them at the very least. But usually it's a cash up front, buy them type of thing, because people either don't come back willingly, or they just don't come back and pay, or they don't make it back.

Is Aldmor a new town, or has that always been on the map? That has always been on the map. I just never noticed it before. Yeah, no. It gets passed over a lot, just because-- Is it, like, tiny or something? It's a small town, yeah. It's not-- I've never even heard anybody else mention it before. No. Yeah, no, it's been on the show. Cool. We're going. OK, as we're walking, Malkus says, so I didn't expect to be out and about this soon. Where are we headed? What are we doing? Monsters to slay, treasure to find? Horses to get. We have to get-- we have to get you a ride, son.

So we're going-- we're going-- All right, all right, start fresh, baby steps. Good, good. After that, following her, and then I point to Diana. Malkus just kind of looks at Diana expectantly, like, and? And then to Brightport. Brightport. What business do we have there? I have personal business, and it's pretty much on the way to anywhere else, as well as we have some-- then she kind of looks over at Yennard and his large sack of items. Some things that we obtained from Carter's Palace that need to be transferred into money. I'm going to smile at Rob and shake my bag at him.

Shooka, shooka, shooka. I certainly have connections there that can help with that. Personal business in the sense of not to be shared with the people who are watching your back and fighting for your life, personal or personal previously discussed? We'll see. Malkus looks at Yennward and Duncan and says, you two vouch for this one? Yeah, she's really nice. She's usually right. She's smarter than us, so I kind of just do what she says. I would say smarter, but we're all on the same level, I think. [LAUGHTER] Malkus just gives a quick nod to him and says, all right.

Onward, then. Making your way to the town of Aldmor, I would imagine that you guys are just looking for a stable to purchase some horses. It's also got a-- it's a smaller town, not really a tourist trap because it's off the beaten path. But everyone do me a favor, roll either a streetwise or history check. OK. Definitely history. Sorry, I was muted. Oh, I got a Critmas. [LAUGHTER] Ooh, streetwise. What did you say again? History, which is a six. History streetwise. I don't get the impression you're listening to me today. Streetwise. No, I was looking at both of my things.

It was just like, OK. Well, they're both six. You guys would say neither of which you should be terribly good at. Oh, my streetwise is good, actually. Wow. Oh, my best ones. You got three Crit ones. I still got a 17, though, with mine. I got a team. You guys are leaning on Duncan on this one. I've been stuck inside a lot lately. I haven't been socializing. I always felt historically important, I don't think. I mean, I don't know. Well, I mean, historically, this town's claim to fame was that Leora Brios was born here. And recently, she has become queen. So that's kind of there.

It's like, hey, this was her hometown. That kind of thing. They're just recently-- like, news just got to them recently, and they're leaning hard into it. The person who is leaning into it the most is a woman by the name of Zunoram Fennas, who is a half-elf monster hunter who has modeled herself very much in the same vein as Leora. So Duncan excitedly tells the group that this is where Leora was born. And what's the name of the woman who is modeling herself after Leora? Zunoram. OK. Hey, guys. There's this woman here named Zunoram. And she's like a second Leora.

Like, she really is trying to be Leora. I think we need to go check her out before we leave, because that sounds hilarious. You're over. I remember that. Oh, I don't get that. Anybody? Nobody else wants to go? It's cool. We can sleep. If you want to, there's no reason why not. The fact that we knew Leora and helped her rise to her position as queen would likely come in handy, though. I don't see why we would really need that here. Me and Leora are really tight. Maybe she can get us some free horses. Yeah, that's a good idea. Let's go see her. Where is she? Do I have to ask my source where she is?

No, no, no. You would-- no. She's not too hard to find. Again, this town doesn't have a huge problem with monsters. They have had trouble with bandits in the past, because of their proximity to Bandits Rest and Brightport. So they've had trouble with that. So when she's not hired by people to hunt beasts and stuff, she makes a living off bounty hunting. Uh-oh. Wait. Wait, so do we know that? Now, did we just learn how to-- this might not be a good idea, guys. I know that. I know that. I'll share it with the group. I'll be like, hey, yeah, she's a bounty hunter, too, just like Leora was.

Diane is going to look at Malkus. He said he's sorry. What's the big deal? I don't get it. Why? This might not be the best course of action. Should I stay away? I don't know the specifics about the bounty that's out for you. But to be safe might be wise. I'll wait on the outskirts. Come find me when you're done. So wait, we're splitting the party? I seem to remember a rule about that, that we were supposed to-- Well, isn't it a good idea if an orc wanders into town also? Yeah, yeah, the orc probably also stands. We have a crew of misfits, so. Maybe we'll just get the horses and leave.

I'm going to point at Dirthag. He's like, OK, Malkus has a habit of running off, so you are in charge of keeping an eye on him and making sure he doesn't go anywhere. Oh, Malkus just scowls at Yenn-Worried. So hard. All right, he's going to-- He's going to the fence post if you think that might be better. Just around the earrings. [LAUGHTER] Like a horsey. Yeah, and we're going to give a shush, shush, shush hand moment, the hand movement to Malkus. And he wants to look at Dirthag. Just make sure he doesn't stray too far. Let him play around, whatever. We'll be right back, OK?

He's going to start talking. He's like, OK, like you would do with a kid, right? Yeah, exactly like a kid. No mischief. Like a small child, like a small blond-- like a small bald devil-faced child. All right. Malkus is pursing his lips so hard right now. OK, so we're going in, us three. This woman's house is fairly modest. Do me a favor, roll a perception check. Everybody? Well, everybody who went to her house. 19. Diane is there more as a chaperone for the others than she has any interest. Yennward, what do you see? Yennward and Diana are going to notice that this is, again, pretty modest.

You're guessing that she hasn't necessarily hit it big in her chosen profession yet. She's maybe still early in the game. Or maybe she just hasn't developed enough of a reputation yet. Because this is not really an opulent house. This does not reek of someone who's made it big yet. OK, so OK, so guys, the plan is we sweet talk her, and we get cheap horses, right? Right. Do we have any reason to believe that she would have influence by the price of the horses? Shh. She's in charge. She is. Yeah. Oh, god. She's Leona. So OK, so-- Diana just kind of like puts her hands up, like just go for it.

She's the queen of the town. OK, so Diana, you're the best talker. So you've got to do this, OK? I see. If not, Yennward can. Yeah, got it. OK. Or I could do it. Well, who cares? Let's just go. I'm going to knock on the door. And Duncan just runs up and knocks on the door excitedly. We should have got Malkus fucking. Meanwhile, cut back to Malkus and Dirthag. Dirthag's teaching Malkus bloody knuckles. Ow. You're straight. I don't want to. This is a quality use of my time. OK, so Duncan knocks on the door. So she's going to open the door. And kind of stare at the three of you.

It is, while not ridiculous to see-- it's a lot of humans and stuff wandering through town. It is not ridiculous to see, obviously, tieflings and the occasional dwarf. To see a minotaur is a little jarring, especially opening the door for the first time. It's usually-- mostly you see chest, like waist and chest. And then you got to pan up. It's like, oh, hi. So she's just taking in this-- can I help you? You're the new Liara, right? She's going to cock an eyebrow. How do you mean? Well, my name's Duncan. You've probably heard of me. I'm a very famous dwarf.

I'm a bit of a singer. Anyway, up here, and I point at you, this is my friend, Ynward. You're going to be pretty famous. He's going to be a king. And then over here is Diana. And we are friends of Liara. And I smile really big at her. Again, she's sort of looking over. Are you serious? You actually know her? Oh, yeah. Yeah, we beat Carter. We just killed him. He-- and I point at Ynward. He hit him. He threw out a window. And we made Liara queen. That's because of us. She's queen. 21. She's going to notice that Ynward is wearing a pretty recognizable crown. And there's a look of skepticism on her face as she's like, yeah, oh, yeah, you-- yeah, you're the one.

OK. Like, you're full of absolute shit. Then she's going to look at the crown on Ynward's head. Well, you're not kidding. No. Why would we be kidding? Ma'am, if there's one thing you got to know about us, we are 100% serious all the time. We'll play games. Despite appearances, that is the case. We mean business. Come in, please, please. And she's going to step out of the way. Just like, now she's in full on holy shit. Like, please come in. Absolutely. I walk right in. Just stroll on in. Duncan's under the impression that she recognizes him because he's a famous singer, not because of the-- [LAUGHTER] The Hannah just has, like, this, like, throughout the entire-- and just, like, this, like, resigned look on her face.

Like, just like, yep, we're doing this. Just follows the others inside. So what exactly can I do for you guys? You have a lot of influence. I mean, do you need help-- do you need help with something, killing something? Because I could do that. We heard you had horses, and we need horses. Who told you I had horses? Oh, look at Duncan. Well, I heard you were a big deal around here. So I assumed you could probably help us. I mean, we-- even though we look like great adventurers, we can always use a hand in acquiring our adventuring needs. And we just thought that maybe we'd reach out and see what-- see what one of our lovely fans could do for us. [LAUGHTER] I mean, we can autograph some things for you.

Yeah. I could sing a song if you want, or-- OK, I-- I want to help you guys. But if you're looking for horses, you're going to have to talk to Silic. He's difficult. How so? Well, he just moved into town from the west. And he's not really good at making friends. Doesn't really get along well with anybody. He's fair. I mean, if you pay him for horses, I'm sure he'll-- I'm sure he'll give you grade A stock. But he's not friendly. If you're counting on me to get you a discount, I don't think that's going to happen. Damn it. Well, guys, this is the plus. Nice meeting you.

Goodbye. [LAUGHTER] Hey, wait, wait, wait. She said she could fight with us. Do we want her to come with us and fight with us? [LAUGHTER] We're currently on the road to Brightport. Is there anything that we should be watching out for on the way to besides the usual? Mostly bandits. Couple weeks back, there was a troll on the road leading to Brightport. But-- Oh, no. --that's been taken care of. What do you mean, "taken care of"? Oh, that was killed. I actually helped lead a party, actually, to take care of it. There was an ogre down south, too. That was really tough.

But yeah, the road should be pretty safe. I mean, besides the bandits. But you guys-- you guys would probably be fine. You know Leora? Seriously? Yeah. We fought alongside her in the war. She's really into him. And I point to you inward. She's really into him. Shocks. She's-- She's going to make a good queen. You can see her-- she can-- she's kind of swelling with pride. To hear good things about your hero is awesome. The worst thing-- it's like, oh, that guy's a dick. Like, if you-- it's like, oh. Drinks a lot. You don't want to hear that. Yeah. If there's anything else I can do for you, though, let me know.

I mean-- OK. If you're going to talk to Silic, the best thing I can tell you is maybe handle him with kid gloves. You know, just ease into it. Approach him as nicely as possible. Oh, we're nice. We're really nice. So that works for all of them. OK. I'm sure you are. You've been nothing but nice to me. I don't have any reason to doubt you. I'm sure you are. But yeah, just nice. Kid gloves won't be an issue. So OK, well, how about this? How about I put you in my Rolodex, and then if we ever come around again and need anything, maybe we'll drop by and work something out.

Does that sound good? That sounds amazing. And she's going to hold out her hand. Duncan puts up his fist. She's going to adjust, like, course correct as soon as she's like, oh. And bump. Duncan nods appreciatively. She's going to reach over and just sort of, like, stroke Ynward's chest, like pet him. She doesn't know what to do with a Minotaur. It's like, there, there, boy. Wait, wait, like, like, like, like, how do you mean stroke his chest, like on the cover of a romance novel, stroke his chest? No, just like, good boy. Like, just kind of like, just like, she doesn't know.

Like, because Ynward, unlike a lot of Minotaurs, sort of resembles a big furry yak. So he looks like a cross between, like, this big, powerful, strong Minotaur and the friendliest dog you ever did see. So it's just, he kind of puts that aura out and he's kind of a big fucking dopey sweetheart, like he kind of puts that aura, it's like, just come on. Like, you just want to, you know. When he's not throwing people out of windows. Right. Plus his hand would just like. It would be your whole forearm in my hand. Right. Duncan leads over to Ynward and goes, "Man, all the girls love you.

How is that possible? What do you do?" You're cute. Am I ugly? Yeah. Oh. Okay. But you play guitars, so you got that going for you. Maybe you can help me out sometime. We'll figure it out. And as everyone's going to reach a version. Before we go, you should consider getting an eyepatch, because that does like a ton for the art of image. I have both my eyes, though. Everyone else doesn't have to know that. You know, I'm my own person. I want to be like her. I just. Okay, fair enough. Just a suggestion. It makes her look really cool. I mean, you'll figure it out. Eyepatches are pretty cool.

See? Pretty cool. But thanks. We're going to go. Where is this guy? Where can I find him? Silic's on the edge of town. Again, kid gloves. And every time the subject of him is brought up, she just kind of winces a little bit. Okay, I'll bite. Did something happen between you two that we should know about? Is there? Between me and him? Yeah, I mean, you're wincing. You don't seem. No, no. I've talked to him a few times. I try to welcome new people to the town. He was not having any of it. I don't think he likes humans all that much. But oh, well, we don't have that problem.

So that's not a big deal. You guys might be fine. You might be completely fine. What is he? He's a war forged. Oh, oh, hey, we should get. I stopped myself. We should get Rocco for this one guy. It's kind of, Jason, it's common knowledge that the war forged were, like, completely wiped out, right? Like, that's pretty much. Yeah. He's still going to look kind of sharp, like, war forged. He was one of the lucky ones. And she's going to, like, do the quotation fingers. It's like, apparently, somewhere in the area of two or 3% of them didn't die. And apparently, Silic was one of them.

I mean, he's okay, right? Um, you can ask him about it. I don't think he would call himself okay. I'm sure it'll be fine. Thank you for your time. Sure. Good luck in your future ventures. Oh, and hey, I just think about it. We'll be in touch. She's just going to nod. Um, let's okay. Let's start at Dareth Agamath. Yeah, I was going to ask. The stable would be visible to you guys. You're not. I mean, you could see it in the distance. Would this be a thing where you sort of see the stable and you'd want to approach it or you're just going to wait for the rest of the party right now?

Yeah, we can approach it. Kill two birds with one stone. Yeah. I don't know where Rob is. Oh, I don't have a problem with that plan. No, I don't have a problem. All right. So, um, approaching this stable, you are going to see a lone war forged tending to things here, uh, feeding horses and, and, and such. He looks miserable. And Malchus just literally heel turns and says, I'll wait over there. He needs a hug. That's what the problem is. Malchus is hood up, like collar pulled up over his mouth and he just like saunters. He wants to get some kind of objects between him and the war forged.

Right. Break line of sight. Did he switch a Cape by chance? No, no, he kept his Cape, uh, as, as unruffled as possible. It's too much attention. Securely unswished. All buckles fastened. I picture Vincent from final fantasy seven. Now, whenever I picture like, oh, sorry. That's excellent. Playing kills the war forge. He's just going to walk up to him, see what's going on. Like, what is, what is he doing right now? Like just feeding horses. Um, and he's going to hear Dirthag approach, turn around and stare at him. And then after a beat, what? All right. He's just going to jump right into it.

Hi, my name is Dirthag and I need three horses. And, uh, the war for just going to peer around Dirthag and seeing no one else. These just for you. Uh, no, there's other people in town they're shopping or doing something right now. They're going to be back. You get the general sense that you are thoroughly wasting his time. Um, and even though you are purchasing, you know, money is exchanging hands, all that, it's just the, just the general act of him having to deal with you. Fine. There any, is there a specific breed you're looking for? Um, I don't care.

I need two horses that are normal and one horse that can handle a really big guy. So then yes, you're looking for a specific breed. Sure. I love this guy. I like that. I like that. The Dirthag is like, I don't know what they went to town for. Even though we specifically said we were going to something good at this. I have a job is to watch and it's to watch the guy that just left. All right. I totally didn't. You're gonna watch the guy he just is back. What's going on? Horses are on fire, sir. I'm doing a good job so far. You come back and I'm just saying like, I don't know what happened and there's this fire everywhere.

Let's go. I think he's handling this well. I think he's going to have horses for us when we come back. He's like, watch Malchus and Malchus walks away. Remember the whole game plan we discussed five minutes ago? Forget that. Let's do something totally different. He's not good at following instructions. He's just fine. So after a bit, Silica is going to come back with three horses, one of which is your standard, this can carry a shitload of weight, not built for speed, sort of a big Clydesdale looking animal, a bit larger, and then two regular horses. And he's going to start to pull them to the side and hitch them up.

And he's going to turn to Dirthag. You have money, right? I have 2200 gold. Can I inspect one of the horses just to see the quality of them? Yeah, I don't really care. This is going to be 2600 all said and done. All right. He's going to call her Malchus. He's going to say, Hey, Marcus, we need some extra money. You. Okay, wait. One, it was established that Malchus walked away. Are you yelling for Malchus? Yes, because he doesn't know. You're using his name. I'm using his name. It's just like ruining everything that we planned. Jake is back in the party. Yeah, this is Jake.

This is totally Jake. This is totally Jake. Okay. Okay. Malchus, upon hearing that, first of all, like, there is even I suspect even from where Dirthag is, he can hear the audible slap of face palming. Okay. And then the second thing that happens is Malchus is going to burn it daily. Oh, God. Oh, God. Is he going to sprout double wings and fly up to the air? Malchus is going to sprout his devil wings and fly onto the nearest roof and lay flat on it and just be, like, as unfindable as possible. Are we going to see that? That's totally inconspicuous. Okay, Jason, have I moved into an alley or something?

I take it like I was I was moving to an inconspicuous location. Well, yeah. Okay. Yes. I think you have to roll a stealth for that row. I think a stealth check may be in order just because you're taking flight in town in Broad sort of on the cusp of town, so that would be as good a place as any. It's an up high place. And so I wouldn't say that this is a stealth check so much as the town itself would roll perception just to see if anyone it's already done that he's doing this, but he should. You should use the spider thing to just crawl right up the side of the roof.

Oh, yeah. Don't I? It would have been a lot better. I don't care more than you do. I just I picked you. Hey, Marcus. And he just takes flight. He takes flight with nasty leather wings. I'm going to try and lay low, guys. All right, well, it's burned down. So what do you want to roll? Go ahead. You know what? Go ahead and roll a stealth check just to see how this is. Yeah, it would have to be you should roll perception for the entire time because you have, like, the winksman of a con or everyone would hear it. It has to carry its heath wing. So let's see. You go to your character sheet.

Yeah, but I can't find the power. Oh, spine devil's boon. That's what it is, right? Spine devil's boon. No, I'm trying. That's what it's got to be. That's got to be the one. Yeah, nothing else makes sense. Does he also grow spikes? This wasn't that a thing. Yeah, he grows spikes all over his face. Yeah, this is horrifying. Oh, my gosh. The monster hunter is going to be cold. I'm glad you're all having fun with me back in the party. Okay, you did it. Yeah, you're cracking up and we're about to I'm about to be lynched and you guys, I hope you guys don't mind that.

You're the one who decided to... Hey, there's only two people to blame in this situation. One was Jake. Can we mention that as soon as we switched to YouTube, everything started falling apart. We were fine. We were going to go talk to him, get a discount. Everything was talking to a fucking war forged. Because you could have said, you know what? I'm going to wait for them like we were supposed to. All right. Dice were ruled. Well, the dice were kind. 19. Right. Okay. Now, let's see if anybody near the church would see. So, okay. Malchus is going to, in reaction to Dirthag shouting for him, is going to coat himself in spines and blackness and sprout giant bat wings and take flight to the roof of this nearby chapel.

So this little church of a monetary, this little, you know, he's going to take flight on top of that. Now, Dirthag, do me a favor and roll perception to see if you see that. Should we also roll perception since we're in town walking back? I would say you weren't close enough to see. Okay, so Dirthag's not going to see it. Let me see if Silic would see this. Just he's not the most perceptive. Oh my gosh. That's not the most perceptive. Well, you rolled a 19. His eyes can see heat like the predator. Just like double my stealth modifier. Like the one person you didn't want to notice.

What the fuck? Um, okay. Well, now the trail of bodies begins again. God. So, Dirthag is going to call out Malchus's name and then Malchus is going to take flight and Silica is going to react thusly. You mean Grimnus? What do you know his last name? I mean, you were introduced. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah, him. He's got money. Uh, Silica is going to walk past Dirthag and start making his way towards this church. The rest of the group. And all hands up for just ignoring this and continuing on our way. It wouldn't happen if Ironhide was here. Wait, I need to follow this logic.

Because Ironhide and Malchus were the best of friends? Not because they were both Warforged, like this guy. Did you forget that you weren't playing Warforged when you went up to him? No, I had to pretend that I don't know anything about. Yeah, I get it. Dirthag wouldn't understand the context any of that at all. No, I understand that. I just don't understand the part where we said that we were going to go try to get horses and then he decided he was going to do it himself. Well, the mindset is, I see you guys, you're out of sight right now. So it's like, oh, fuck, just take it too long.

Let's just go do this while they're doing whatever and tell. It's been like five minutes. At the same time, I think he's just trying to help. He's like, oh, there it is. I can just move. I just want to get to Brightport. I know. Okay, fine. We're in town. We're in town. At what point do we see this happening, Jason? I would say that you're going to do me a favor. Roll perception check, everyone. Okay. Oh, there it is. That was a good roll. Come on, come on, come on, come on. That was a good one. That was really good. Can I have a plus 10, Jason? Just because. Yeah. Can, like, Genward get Laysic?

Just eating up a sword or a knife really hot and then just, like, I would say Duncan and Diana are going to be approaching the edge of town, seeing this little church. See Malchus lying down on the roof on top of it. See a warforged clattering about the base of this church, shouting upward and see Dirthak just sort of observing. I pictured Die Hard, Die Hard 3. It's like, what the fuck? Here's another question. Now that the warforged is in town yelling up at him, does that mean that everyone in town is now aware that this is happening? I would say that there's a commotion starting.

I think it's more like Silic has a reputation of being a curmudgeon fuckhead. So there's no one that's going to just like, hey, what's wrong? It's not like he's a pillar of the community that people are going to want to help. It's like, oh, there he goes again. Right. But it's more like, why is he shouting at the... Why is this dog barking at the roof? That's basically what it is. It's like, all right, shut up, dog. But at the same time, it's like, why is he barking at the roof? Like, what is going on? And so it will not be too long before someone pays some kind of attention.

Kelsey? A look is going to come over Diana's face that can be summed up with why. I have a question for Kelsey. Yes. What is your bluff? What is your bluff check? It's really high. Like, it's plus 20. Okay. With all the seven checks, do you think we'd kind of be able to figure out what happened? The fact that he is shouting for Malkus and it's a warforged, you can pretty much infer. Is Malkus in sight? Because I know that he said that he was laying down on the roof. So, like, yeah, like, you could just make him out. But, I mean, you probably wouldn't have noticed without the warforged shouting up at the roof, shouting for Malkus.

And then you look up, it's like, oh, look at that. Like, I picture him clinging to a weather vane. Like, just like... Okay. Has a low perception. He didn't know what's going on. So he's going to lumber over to Dirthaak. Okay. So I kind of lean over to Diana and I go, do you think somehow you could convince him that he's not Malkus? She's going to look at Duncan. Just it's either that or fight. I'll go for it. If it gets us out of here faster, fine. So we're walking over to the warforged then. I'll be there, too, to kind of back her up a little bit, because I have a decent luck.

Are we just leaving Ynward behind? Ynward said he's going to Dirthaak. Okay. Yeah. So it's just me and you. So I go up to... I approach him. What was his name again? I'm sorry. Silk. Silk. Okay. So I approach him and I say, you must be Silk. Silk. Correct. Am I right? Silk is hammering his fist on the side of this church, shouting up at Malkus, and he's going to take two seconds to turn around. Fuck off. And then he's going to continue to... It's charming. We were told to come find you. We need horses. Is there something wrong? He's going to... Horses are over there. Grab whatever you want.

I don't care right now. And he is shouting. Look at Duncan. Actually, Duncan's kind of thinking about it. Pay for these horses with the life of your friend. Dude, we can ride all the horses and not get the head in the flag. Let's get some rehorses. It all works out. I wish we could communicate with Malkus and just be like, stay up there as long as you can. And no one can take these horses. Fly after us, right? Yeah. How close is the chapel to the edge of town? Oh, it's pretty close. He used it daily, so he has to come back down the old fashioned way with spider legs.

Well, let's ask. The wings last for five minutes. He could do that. That could be a thing. Oh, my God. Let's do that. Who would believe Silk? Malkus Grimnus is here. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm totally okay. So Duncan runs over to Ynward. Okay. Does he just take off without saying anything? He turns to Diana. He just kind of motions to come with him. Okay. So we're going to leave him alone. Leave him alone. Ynward's going to put his finger up to Duncan and Diana like, where's Malkus? I told you to watch Malkus. I'm going to pick up Dirthag by both shoulders. Just kind of shake him.

Okay. Stop. Stop. Give her. What happened? When Dirthag. Okay. Go get the horses that you need and get one extra one. Can you do that? Okay. Okay. Warforge told us we could take whatever we want. Yeah. He said take whatever you want. So get the best horses you can find and meet us around back of the town by the chapel. Okay. Whatever you wanted. I'm gonna get some horses and go into his house. Okay. So Duncan sees this happening and just goes over or gets on little Sebastian and then grabs one other horse and just kind of rides around the side of town himself. And he's guiding the other horse around the back side of town to the chapel.

Is anybody else around Dirthag? Because I know people are hauling ass inside his house and shit. So I told I mean, when I told Ynward, you were right there. So I assumed you were the plan. All right. He's just going to start saying it's like, I thought Malkus had money. We could have just paid for this and just got out. Now he's up there. And so Duncan just says junk, he just puts a finger to his mouth and says, don't talk. Just let us do this. Okay. We can explain later on the road. It's complicated. All right. God, what did I find in the house? This is this is Sillik's house.

Yes. You're gonna find several sharpened spears. These appear to be something that someone would throw. People don't do that. Sillik does, apparently. And you're gonna find almost nothing of value other than that. You're gonna find horse feed and brushes and things like that. But I mean, it's pretty much just the stuff to take care of horses that like get the brushes. Take the brushes. It doesn't appear as if Sillik has any valuables other than those weapons. Okay, I'm gonna take the spears and one brush. Okay. So, Diana, are you coming with me? Um, yeah. I mean, like, like, yeah, she's gonna go and get our horses to be ready to leave.

Okay. So Duncan rolls around the side of town and just yells, it just kind of goes, "Caw, caw!" Knock us for a little perception check, please. Super. All right. Uh, perception. That's not Malchus's strong suit. 14. Malchus is... This is gonna go... This is more like, "Well, that's a weird bird." Fucking bird. Then after getting no response, he just goes, "Rocko!" Can Malchus recognize? I mean, but it's not exactly what he wants. I would say yeah. Okay. No, I would say it's yeah. Malchus peeks in the direction of the calling. Okay. And then I pointed the horse and I kind of motioned towards it.

So is Duncan far from Silik? I'm around the other side of the church, like the back of town, like the back of the church. Good in sight, but it's a bit of a distance. Like, you're gonna have to fly there, but yeah. Diana's gonna go ahead and start, like, heading off in the direction towards Brighton. Just, like, go ahead and start moving on the road and also kind of distance herself a bit from the going. Yeah, I mean, Malchus will lunge in the direction of the horse and try to glide down. Yannick's gonna pick out the biggest horse in the field and give him a hug and end on him, new Oliver, and he's gonna go join Duncan and everybody else.

I want to pick the meanest looking horse that there is. Oh my God. There'll probably be like a donkey or a mule. It's gonna be big though. All right. You are all... Okay, so man, all right. So now Malchus is gliding over town. He's like Batman, watch out. Hey, you can use some of those plane sound effects. Let's see if... So the town... This is still largely unnoticed by the town. Let's see if Silic notices. God damn it. What the fuck, Silic? Did... Would Malchus have to roll a new stealth check or is that... Oh, there's nothing stealthy about what's going on. Yeah.

So Silic is going to witness... The good thing is that Malchus is moving way faster than Silic would. But Silic is going to witness Malchus spread his wings, take flight from the church, fucking gargoyle style, and just glide down toward this horse. So Silic is going to start to run toward his house to get his spear. Okay, good. Good, we have time. Okay. I'm taking it you guys are just riding out of town. Does Malchus have to write a check to make sure he hits the horse or he is... I would say that this... He can hover with those things. So good. So do we just haul ass like right after...

Like we follow in Diana's direction? Everyone on board with that? Yes. Okay. My, okay. That was a thing. Group one, we're back. Like the series of events that just happened, like I can't... You know what got me on board? You know what got me on board? We got free horses. We got free horses and also when it was brought up, but no one... Who cares about Silic? Like they all think he's an asshole anyway. They stole my horses and my spears. Like he told us to get the horses and a warforged yelling about Malchus demon thing flying around like that, that probably like...

Yeah, they probably just got rust on the brain. To recover from that. We are slowly crossing off towns on the map that group one can go to. Oh, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, the rest of us can go there. The rest of us can go there perfectly fine. He told us to take the horses so we did. We were just problem boards. I like how Malchus replaced Drakeonas now. Like the one that always calls for the problem. It's you and Malchus. He wouldn't know anything about like, oh man, this... Having an adequate excuse does not... No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, it doesn't. All of his actions were in reaction to what you did.

Right. And it was established that Drakeonas hated children and everything, but he still stole from orphans. He still was a drug addict. He still, you know, I'm just saying. I practically handed him a load of guns like, "Here, use this, man." Yeah, you did. Making your way to Brightport. Who wants to do me a favor and roll a streetwise check? Oh, I will. I'm good at that. I'll do that. 30. Holy shit. Okay. Well, the first order of business would be to find a place for Yennward to sell his items. Now, while there are options in town, because these aren't weapons and because they're the equivalent of Nazi gold in Theria, there's sort of one game in town.

And that would be to go to the Filigreed Faun, which is run by two people. Most famously, a little gnome named Gradic the Wanted, whom you have met before. The other person who is co-owner would be Tessia Grimnus, who doesn't so much run the day-to-day operations, but is co-owner. Okay. So it was established earlier that Yennward was trying to get rid of his stuff. So after Duncan finds this out, he kind of turns to Yennward with a big, giant smile on his face. Doesn't even really notice the Tessia Grimnus thing, or doesn't care so much, but he just turns to...

Wait, wait, wait. I'd rather you not tell me that Gradic's... I'm not. I'm not. Okay. Don't worry. I turn to Yennward with a big smile on my face, and I go, "Hey, I know a place where you can sell that stuff." I'm gonna shake my back. "And I have a surprise for you there." I love surprises. Let's go. Can we go? Sure, let's go. What kind of surprise? Okay, so Duncan leads Yennward in the party there. Just happily, almost skipping. Just with a nod. As they become clear, at least to her, where they're going, a smile's gonna come over Diana's face. Just like, "Hmm." Okay.

Are we at the door? I would say you were. Is there gonna be a party or something? So I hold the door handle. You've been at a party before. I look at Yennward and I say, "Are you ready?" Yeah. Okay, "Surprise!" And I open the door. Yennward's gonna step in. I have some things to sell. Hello? It's Graddick, he's getting away. Gotta play it. Diana's gonna walk in pretty closely behind Yennward, just smiling. Graddick the Wanted is going to be behind his counter, standing on his little step stool. And he is going to look up after the little bell chimes that signifies someone is walking into his shop.

And he's gonna look up. And his eyes are gonna meet Yennward's. And then they're gonna go really wide. When he... Like that moment of recognition. Yennward, when he opened the door, he was smiling and shaking his bag of trinkets. As soon as he recognizes Graddick, he's gonna drop the bag and the smile is gonna disappear from his face. Graddick is gonna try to make a run for this back door. Yennward is gonna bound after him. Okay. You should throw Stormrender. You should just throw Stormrender. I don't wanna cut him. He's got some answer to do. Can I use attacking with hypnotism to make him stop?

Go ahead. 26. That's versus Will? That's just gonna miss his Will. Jeez. That is his highest stat. The world is so good. I'm guessing you want me to roll an athletics? He's gonna roll. Yeah, he's gonna go ahead and roll an athletics check to see if he can get to this back door. Now, he's gonna get a plus because, 1. He is closer to the door than you are. 2. The shop is actually set up to give him the quickest exit in case he needs to take it. That being said, he is still a gnome. Still gonna be much slower than Yennward. But yeah, so let's see. 26. No, wait. That didn't show up.

It didn't show up. Uh, 15 plus 7 is 22. So he rolled a 22. Says you. I can't see it. You want me to roll again? Yeah. No, 22 is fine. No, don't. Don't do it. So go ahead, Yennward. Okay. Oh! Okay. Can I have your other roll? Grattic is gonna make it to the back door and slip out of the Filigreed Faun. Quick! Cut him off at the pass! Yennward's gonna run out the front door. Wait, well, Duncan was at the front door. Can he kind of go out the front and start trying to chase him down a little bit? Chanik? No, you don't. You little fella. Your legs are too short. Is he too far away to make another attack, Jason?

Yeah. Oh no, he's left the shop. Like I said, I never came in the building. I'm still outside. So could I, like, if I see him run, could I... You're gonna have to make your way around the building. Do me a favor, roll a Perception check for me. Okay. There it goes. Oh yeah. 28. You are going to just catch a glimpse of across the street, this little gnome slipping into a crowd of people. The way Brightport is set up, especially in the lower quarter of the city, which is where you are now, not the best place to live. The... Brightport as a city is filled with, you know, street barkers and pickpockets and thieves and thick crowds of people.

And you're going to witness this little gnome kind of slip in between the legs of several pedestrians, and then you're going to just lose sight of him. Okay, so any kind of Athletics check wouldn't... You can run toward the... You can run towards the place where you last saw him. Okay. So like Metal Gear Solid, just... Kind of, yeah, yeah, pretty much. Yeah. See what I can get. 22. 22. So Duncan is gonna kind of give chase and make it toward this crowd of people. And do me a favor, roll a Perception check. All right. 22. 22. You're gonna lose sight of Graddock.

You're not gonna see him. A second time. Now, you do know that he works with... That he works with Tessia. And you do have a connection within the party. Um... So it wouldn't be... It wouldn't be a crazy leap of logic to know where he's going. Uh, before... Okay, because I'm kind of in a crowd of people, though... So he would have some kind of hideout or something? Well, I mean, the shop is where he goes, but they're... Knowing what you know about Graddock, because you've got a decent streetwise... Graddock is constantly in trouble with various elements of Brightport.

And, um... He has been affiliated with a house in one way or another for years. It was originally Silverclaw, and most recently, he has been affiliated with House Dragonkeep, because Tessia Grimnus runs House Dragonkeep. Okay. So that is where he goes when he needs protection. Okay. So, um... I'll meet back up with... I'll go over to Ynward. Yeah, Ynward is... Is Diana there? He's stomping his hooves. He's pissed. Okay. Um... Okay, so, uh... Duncan goes, "Hey, I know we lost him, but my guess is that he's gonna be at Dragonkeep." "I think we should go there." "Because, from everything that I'm hearing around town, if there's anywhere that he's gonna be, that's where it is." The mention of House Dragonkeep...

Diana's face is... She's gonna go from a look of disappointment, just kind of go, like, completely blank. Just... Like... Doesn't say anything. Uh... Should I, like... Are you making a... Is it just completely blank? There's no kind of expression that I'd read or anything? Yeah, like it's just, like... Flat. Okay. Um... That little snake, I am gonna crush him into paste. The Malkus first before we go to Dragonkeep, and Ynward's gonna walk back into the pawn shop. I was... Planning on heading to Dragonkeep anyways, so that... Works out for the best, I suppose. Um, Malkus checks around the store to see if there's anyone in there to tend it.

Yeah, that's Ynward's idea. I'm gonna ransack the place since he left it unattended. Um... There is a lone individual... In this shop. There's a large elf. Um, sort of bulky, actually. And he has witnessed this entire thing. Didn't give chase, didn't spring to Graddick's defense, didn't do anything. Diana recognized him, or...? Um, do me a favor and roll... Um, roll a history check to see if she would have any. 29. This particular elf is affiliated with House Silverclaw. And... As of recently, the people of House Silverclaw are no fans of Graddick the Wanted.

So much so that they want him dead. Would... Does he recognize her is more of what she's trying to... Doesn't... Yeah, doesn't... Okay. It doesn't look like it, though. Um... Were you planning on approaching him? Because if not, I will. Uh, Ynward's already inside. Oh, I figured I was with you, but... You can do it in order if you'd like. Okay. Um... He's gonna... He's gonna come in and he's gonna reach for a display case, but he's gonna look up and notice the elf, and he's gonna point one finger up and like... "Graddick owes me and I intend to collect." Doesn't this...

Organiz- Doesn't this establishment, like, jointly belong to Tessia? Yes. Yeah. I don't know her. Yeah, maybe you should just leave, Malgus. Uh... Ynward, you might not want to do that. Shut up. This... establishment is jointly owned by my mother. I'd prefer you didn't... Ynward's gonna stop... Ynward's gonna stop for a second and look at him and like... "Okay, only take one thing." You! And he's gonna point at the elf. "Fetch me some fancy things and I want one of them." Ynward! Shut up! I'm not leaving with nothing. I was promised a surprise and I've been giving nothing but aggravation.

Get me something, you. We'll process your goods. It will be fine. Stop panicking. He just wanted a sword! He just wanted it there! I almost had him! I know. I know, buddy. You're a robot! I have nothing! Malgus looks at the elf and says, "Uh, we've got some things to exchange." The elf has been just standing there, arms folded the entire time watching, watching all of this. Gave no reaction when Ynward barked at him to go fetch him things. And then at that, "I don't work here." My job was just to watch the little man. Why were you supposed to watch him? Because he's Gratic and he's a rat.

Then Diana's just gonna turn and walk out of the shop. Duncan's still curious. He's waiting for a reply. We currently have a deal. We are not to harm Gratic, but in exchange we want to keep an eye on him. What if my friend harms Gratic? I'm afraid I can't let you do that. I'm afraid I had dibs on him first. The elf is going to unfold his arms and start to walk toward Ynward. We're just going to puff his chest out and get to him. I'll tell you what. Currently we have a deal with another group. If they fail to come through for us, then perhaps we can share Gratic.

What's in it for me? Because I can go chase and Diana and rip him in half right now. You don't want to do that. He really does. I get what you're saying, but he really wants to. If I know the little scumbag, he's probably already at House Dragonkeep by now. What would Dragonkeep have to fail to do? Oh, we don't have any affiliation with Dragonkeep. A group rolled into town working with Tessia a few days ago, and there's a former member of our house that's causing us a bit of trouble in Esterhold. They're taking care of that for us. In exchange, we're not to harm Gratic.

We cut that deal with you. Nobody's cut a deal with me. What are you going to give me to keep me from getting him? Because I'm not leaving him. He won't kill you. That ain't an option. You couldn't kill me if you wanted to, little man. Oh man. This elf does not seem to be intimidated by Yennward's size. Um, okay. Can I step in real quick and I'll roll diplomacy? Try it. 29? 29. Excellent. Okay. Um, and I look up because he's rather large and I just go, uh, sir, how about this? How about you pretend we weren't here? We walk out that door right now. And what happens after we leave is none of your problem.

Or is not your problem. Though I didn't mean that insultingly either. It was just like, will we be? We're not gonna. Totally. Yeah. Deal? Continuing to look at Yennward. Go right ahead. I don't think you'll be doing any harm to Greg once he's in the house. Anyway, thank you. And I turned to Yennward and I go, Yennward, can you come outside with me for a second? Not leaving without something. Yennward. I want something. Yennward's gonna push past the elephant, go behind the counter. Let them take something. Let them take something. I just want to say one, she's not even going to notice.

Someone will come here and we will process your goods and get you something, but you're not stealing from my family. Go find my mother. We'll get someone down here to process things. Yennward's gonna just stamp his feet like a child. Yennward! And he's gonna huff and he's gonna leave. And Malchus looks at the elf and says, well being is you don't tend the store and I'm family members with the proprietor, I should probably stick around until she is sent a substitute. Yennward's gonna burst back in the door. Yennward! He's gonna eye down and he's gonna reach down and pick up his bag of trinkets and he's gonna exit again.

Is the elf okay with that? I'm sticking around to make sure the elf's okay with. Yeah, the elf is gonna look at Malchus and just kind of shrug and say, that's fine by me, I don't care. He's not a word said, just like, I don't care. So Duncan kind of just looks at both of them and slowly backs out the door and shuts it behind him. And then he goes up to Yennward and he starts kind of rubbing his back, like the lower back, I guess, not his butt, but right about as far as he can reach up. And he's like, it's okay buddy, I'm sorry. I knew you wanted something, I was trying to get you something.

Who does that guy think he is? I will grab him by his pointy little ears and pop his head off his body. And I'm never gonna let Malchus talk to you like that again, okay? You better not. I won't, I promise. Let's go to the place. Hey, hey, where's my surprise? It was supposed to be Gratic and then he ran away. Let's just go follow Diana, she's going to the house and we can maybe we'll see him there, huh? Cheer up, big guy. Just standing, like looking in the direction of Dragon's Keep and just get like face just completely blank and then when she hears Duncan says that she's just gonna start walking without saying a word.

Where's Darth Egg? Darth Egg. Darth Egg, sorry. Um, uh. Plane. Yeah, he's on a plane. He's on a plane. He's out of here. He's going to Hawaii. He's going somewhere nice. Okay, go ahead, sorry. Uh, I don't know. I guess he could be just like wandering around a little bit. He could be during that entire exchange. Like do you? Well, like right when everywhere you ran out and stuff like that he was going to start looting but then Malkus starts talking about like don't loot or anything like that so he's just going to get out and start wandering around. So he's not coming with us to the house?

No. Okay. Um, Malkus calls after Duncan and says, "Don't forget, tell my mother to send someone down to the store and tell her I'm watching it for now." Uh, Duncan shoots Malkus a look and goes, "Only if you promise, only if you say sorry to my friend." And he points at you. Yeah, everyone's going to turn around and cross his arms. Malkus just slams the door. Jeez, how rude. Why do we let him back in? I'm going to rip one of his earrings out later. He's grumpy. I picture him with gauges, I don't know why. That'll hurt worse. Sure. So we're following Diana. So approaching house Dragonkeep, who's going to be doing the knocking?

Are you hesitant, Diana? Um, as you get closer, I mean, like, you just feel like they're like, her movements are a bit stiff and like her fists are clenched. Like it's like there's, but like her face is just completely blank. As what does the outside of the house look like? Well, Diana would have remembered it a bit differently. House Dragonkeep, formerly House Darksebane, was, still is, in a really shitty section of town, but the nicest house by far in this section of the city. The place was not meant to be welcoming. Under its previous owner and operator, there was actually an open set of graves outside.

They had an active graveyard just off to the side of the house that has been since replaced. There is a pretty well manicured lawn. There has been significant improvements to sections of the house. It looks like a new front porch has been built. The place has received a nice coat of paint. I mean, there is, there have been, it looks cheerier, if anything. Okay, as she notices these changes, there's going to be a slight hesitation, but then she's just going to continue on and then my guess. Well, real quick before that, do I have to run a perception check?

Do I notice, does Duncan, is it noticeable that you're getting more tense and... Go ahead and roll perception. Okay. Dude, he's on fire in here. He found that dice sheet. Yeah, he found that dice sheet. That's your 15th 19 in a row, Dan. That's just... Stop snitching, Kelsey. But it's not a click, so it's not, you know, you don't notice it right away. It's not. Um, okay, so, um, Duncan kind of notices they're getting tensed up and kind of holds the party back for a second and goes up to Diana and just, uh, I'm sure she's not even really looking at him or anything.

Oh yeah, she's not going to notice any of that. But, um, he just kind of goes up to her and goes, look, are you, are you okay? Do you want to do this? Because we don't have to do this. Like, you don't have to be with us if you don't want to. She's going to stop and she's going to look at him and it's just kind of like she's, like, taking her second to realize that he's talking to her. Kind of thing. Just, I need to do this and continue on. But you're okay? She's not going to answer and just start walking again. Okay. And then as she's walking away, Duncan just kind of goes, I can do the talking if you don't want to do the talking.

Can Yennard knock? If, if you want. Can Yennard knock? Did I get a response from Diana about to do the talking? If, that she's just gonna, I mean, she's just pretty much like, not like, like, yes, I mean, I don't know if they were kind of behind her then when she gets there, she's gonna knock it's not, but I don't know. Well, Yennard is already going to knock. So I thought. Well, Yennard's upset. I picture Yennard pushing past everybody and just doing like that delft fist knock, like few seconds are going to go by and the door is going to swing open and a gentleman is going to be standing on the other side of the door.

Can I help you? Looking for a weasel about this high. Um, and he knows why you're there. He is not stupid. I had a feeling someone would be knocking on the door any minute now. Please come in. And then he's going to hold up a finger. I'm going to have to ask that you not draw any weapons. And he's going to open his eyes like, do you understand? Not a very good artist anyway, you got it. Tom Rose, ladies and gentlemen, Tom Rose. That was amazing. And this man seems to be satisfied with just, you know, you get it. Don't, don't do anything violent. And he is going to step back and let the party enter the house.

Then he's going to see Diana. And there is a very clear look of recognition that crosses his face. He very obviously recognizes her. Um, he's not going to say anything. She, she's going to meet his eyes and just like recognize the fact that he recognizes her. It isn't going to say anything about that yet. And as she walks in, her eyes are going to kind of slide from him to the interior of the house. And what does she see? - Again, drastically different since the last time that Diana was here. Much more cheery. A lot of the gloomy, almost oppressive decor has been taken away there.

There, I mean, there were, the place was painted in, in really dark colors. There were heads of various things mounted around the place. It was not meant to be welcoming. And now it's a, it's a lot more, it's a lot more welcoming. It's a much more diplomatic setting. There appears to be a large living room that is meant to, it's meant to, it's sort of meant to facilitate conversation. It looks like not, not to intimidate people when they walk in. It looks, it looks a lot more welcoming. - So Diana's going to just stop dead, just completely frozen. And her eyes are going to just kind of dart all over the place.

Just like every, like registering, like every detail. And her breathing's going to kind of pick up and she's going to kind of flinch back. And if no one stops her, she's going to flat run out of the house. - I won't stop her, but I'll follow her. - Well, okay. Do me a favor, Yanbird, roll a perception check, please. - Okay. - I'm usually really good at those. - Oh, hey. - It's one of those days, guys. - Yanbird is going to see a slightly older tiefling woman standing in the, towards the back of this, this living room area. That's not going to be what draws his eye though.

- Okay. - Standing at the legs of this tiefling woman behind her, more specifically, is a little gnome. And he's just sort of peeking out behind her. - It's adorable. - Delicious. - So she is standing there with her arms folded, just observing you. She knows why you're there. She knows what you want. And after a minute, she sees you. - Let me clear, she's like upstairs, right? - No, no, no, no, no. - Okay. - There, towards the back of this living room area. This is a pretty wide space though. This is quite a large house. - Okay. - And she's going to just watch Yanbird looking at Grettic.

Can I help you with something? - Yeah, send that little fellow over here for a second. And he's going to do like a finger wag, like, come here. - Grettic is going to sort of tuck himself behind Tessie. - I can see you. - And Tessie's going to kind of scooch him back just a tiny bit with her hand. Just like, no, no, no, no, no, just stay back here. I'm afraid I can't do that. Can I ask what he did? - Everyone's been telling me now. He owed me and then he ran out on me. And then I tried to make him collect a minute ago and he ran out on me again. And then I was going to take stuff from his shop and your son said I couldn't.

So I don't know what the fuck I'm supposed to do, man. I can't have nothing. Sorry, play. - Wait, how does he know that she's Malkus's mom? - I just assumed because that's the house you're going to. - Oh, okay, good point. Yeah, good point. Yeah, forgot about that. Sorry. - She's gonna, she's like that's gonna register my son. - Yeah, Malkus, that jerk. I was going to take one thing out of the store. He's like, no, it's my mommy's store, don't steal stuff. So I had to come here and ask you, but you have him and you saw once. - Just hand him over. Just send him over here for a second.

You don't need to talk. - Grattic is going to, Grattic is going to kind of peer out from behind Tess. Just kind of tuck his head out and start shouting at Yennward. And he's like, you can see he's got a tiny bit of confidence now that he sees that Tessie is vouching for him and she is not going to let you get him. Listen, he has staked in and you can't touch me. Just, just shouting, just very confident in that you can't, you can't get to him. - I'm bigger than Bohe. You better check your tone, little man. I'm not going to hurt you though, you're fine. - She doesn't, like either, there is a confidence radiating from this woman that either she doesn't, she has the utmost competence that you won't do anything stupid or she doesn't fear any of the repercussions of you charging at her.

You could murder her easily. And she's, she's just sort of presenting herself utmost confidence. Just, just very, not a stern demeanor. Just, just, she is used to dealing with things like this. All right. How about you have a seat and we'll talk this out. - Fine, show the way. - Watch you when she's full. - She's going to guide you over to this couch. And there is a, there is a sizable gap in between the two, the two largest pieces of furniture here. And she is going to sit on the opposite side and get Grattic to sit down next to, next to her. So his feet don't even touch the, they don't touch the floor.

He's just kind of kicking his feet off of the side of this couch. Now he has a different demeanor than when you first walked in. He's almost going to just kind of hop up on the couch and just like very, like very comfortable. Now he, like you're on his turf is the way he looks at it. And he's going to snap his fingers. David, cup of tea, let's go. And he's going to call over the Android. You want anything? Yeah. You good? You hungry? - I could go for some tea. That sounds lovely. - David, two. - Can I have some sugar with that? - David doesn't particularly enjoy being bossed around by Grattic.

But he is going to nod over the inward. And then, yeah, he has no problem getting you what you need. That's sort of his job, but it's the fact that Grattic is such a presumptuous little shit. - Yeah. And Tessie is going to kind of try and grab the inward's attention. What exactly did he promise you? - The inward two. - And there's the look of her, like the what now? Like there's a look that's like, I don't understand what that is. - Okay. I can explain the I'm the inward one. The inward two is a giant robot me. - Just close your eyes and picture it. - And he promised that to me.

And then he skipped out. - Tessie is just gonna slowly pan her gaze down to Grattic. And it's like, what? Why? What? All right, look. Bullman here contracted me to go fix this giant warforged thing in the Evergreen. But no one was watching it. They blew it up. There's nothing I can do. And then I sat and waited for him for a couple of days after he threatened me, by the way. - And he's going to look over to the inward like. - Like sternly kind of wag a finger. And I just got bored and left. - I just got bored and left my money. - Look, I contractually fulfilled my obligation.

I was told to come there. I was told to look at your big thing. And it's not my fault you didn't guard it. Sorry. But let this be a lesson to you. Next time, maybe hire a few people to watch your possessions. - Oh, a lesson to me? - Yeah, we're just gonna stand up from the couch. - Tessie is gonna stiffen just a little bit, but not stand up. And Grattic is going to visibly shrink and sort of scooch over to Tessie. - Look, miss lady. He owes me something and Malkus said you can help me with some things. I'm not leaving empty handed. I gave him money, so I'm leaving with a robot or something cool, man.

I'm not leaving with nothing. So make this work or I'm killing him right here. - Tessie is going to stand up. You said Malkus is in the city now. - He's watching your store. You wouldn't let me take... I just want to take one thing. Big baby wouldn't let me take one thing. - She's gonna give just the smallest smile. Not something huge, not just the smallest. I'll send someone over to the shop to handle this transaction. It will not be Grattic. And Grattic is sort of smiling at that. Like, yeah, you're not touching me. That just driving home the fact. And he's gonna fix his little tie and just the smugest look is gonna come across.

- Edward's gonna scowl out. - And she's gonna hold up her hand. But I promise you, you will be fully compensated for any money that you gave Grattic. - Edward's gonna fold his arms. All right. - I happen to know of a few things in the shop that perhaps we can part with. - Do you have a robot? - No. There are a few rarer artifacts that I don't think it'll hurt us too much to part with. It sounds like you have these coming. Grattic's gonna start to lose his fucking mind. No, no, no, no, no, no. That is not happening twice in a week. You already let the other group come in and ransack the place.

You are not letting this big cow come in and put his grubby mitts all over my- - First off, I'm a bull. Oh boy, clearly. And second, I'd like to see you try to stop me. - Grattic is going to pop off of this couch and start to walk toward Yenward. - Oh, we can meet in the middle of the store. - This is not happening twice. - Yenward would like to pick him up by his head and put him at eye level, and why not? - Okay, Grattic is clearly terrified, but Tessie is going to put out a hand and sort of touch Yenward's chest. Let's not do anything we would all regret.

You're going to be compensated. Ignore him. And Grattic is going to start to yell, generally, just sort of impotent rage at the situation. No, no, no, no, no, no. And he's going to try and wriggle and kind of bring his hands up to Yenward's big mitt and try and after that, you know, obviously does not work, he's just going to cross his arms and continue to yell. - I already had that bully paladin come in and steal from me. I am not going to let you bully me too. That is not how things work in Brightport. - I'm not stealing from you. I'm getting what I'm owed.

You owed me. You cheated me. - Grattic is going to say, yeah, you were dumb enough to let me cheat you. That's how it works in Brightport. - Dumb? I'm going to squeeze this out a little bit. - Ah ha ha. - And he's going to reflexively, like, just sort of flinch. Come on, I can't be the first person to ever tell you you're dumb. - Yeah. Not dumb. - Really? - Yeah. I thought it was pretty. - There are not enough people in the world that are honest with you. - And Tessia is going to just like, okay, okay, put him down. Like, she knows, like, he's insulting you and it's like, don't.

- Can Yenward just kind of like drop him like a sack of potatoes? - You absolutely can. - I'm going to drop him like a sack of potatoes. - Okay. Let's, how about we catch up with Diana? - Okay. - So what's Diana doing right now? What's Diana and Duncan doing? - Well, so Duncan's following her. - Basically, I saw you run out and seemed like in somewhat of a panic. So yeah, I was concerned and followed you. - Okay. So, not sure how to phrase it. Uh, I'm going to roll an attack against Duncan. So do I just go ahead and just roll it and... - So you saw, I didn't, you knew I was there?

I didn't say anything to you or anything? - Oh, I mean, I just, just, okay, well, she's going to, I mean, she assumed that she was being followed and just kind of like reflexively, like throw out, hit, there's a link behind her too. Where she, yeah. So, okay. Okay. I'm going to go ahead and roll that. - Go ahead. I would say that would be nice. No, my will is 39 actually. Duncan is the most willful creature in all of DNR. Did you know? - So, um, and she's, I mean, she's not doing anything. I mean, she's going to like do that, push him back. And then as soon as you do that, I'm also going to do something to activate on hidden strike, which is when, make a check, make a bluff check.

So I'm just going to do that. Okay. So there's a 30 beat your passive insight Duncan. - Yep. - Okay. So, um, so she's to Duncan, she's going to turn invisible. And that's how that works. And then she is going to, um, turn and just go like, as someone who would know Brightport streets would be able to do, just kind of go like through like alleyways and just try to just get away. But in a method that she would not be able to be easily followed. - I'm thinking that may be a good time for us to stop the session for today. - Okay.
