Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason, I'm the Dungeon Master. Going around the table, starting with Bri! Hi, I'm Brianna and I play Jadzia Grace, the Human Warlock. And Kat. Hi, I'm Kat Charlie and I play Fi, the Changelun Fith. And Jasper. Hey, this is Jasper. I play Merrick Ethelred, the Human Cleric.
And Mac. Hey, I'm Mac and I play Caluna Vulgaris, the Wild-Inch Shaman. And Izzy. Hey, I'm Izzy and I play Una Anhelada, the Half-Elf Paladin. So, last time on the show, you guys made a trek up into the mountains to chase after Jadzia. Jadzia, of course, broke away from the party, took Amara with her to go and plead with Val'nor, who is the demon that she sold her soul to a very long time ago. She did end up getting her soul back, caused her a great deal of pain and she had to trade away every soul she had in her helm to get it. But, yeah, she got her soul back, we left off with the party sort of standing over her and, yeah, what would you guys like to do?
So, we just… this is the moment where, if I remember, Una just found out. She just, you know, basically nodded to Una and then Una sort of looked at Valis and it's like she got it, right? So, we're in that very moment. Yeah, I honestly would say that Valis would sort of reach for her to pick her up, like to try and take her off of Una's hands. If Una will hand her over. I was just thinking, I don't think Una would let her go. Right. I don't think she would just be like, "Oh, yeah, just go to your boyfriend." He'd be like, "Come here!" Yeah, Una would kind of like hold her close, like, "No, mine!" And then realize, "Oh, no, Valis also cares about her.
This is probably something that I should not… yeah." And then kind of release her and kind of hand her to Valis. Yeah, he's kind of snapped out of the little stupor he was in when you were standing at the fringe of the room and, yeah, he's gonna hold her really close. Jadzia's pretty much just a ragdoll at this point because she's so exhausted from the pain. Merrick is definitely relieved, no question. I mean, he was without even understanding the situation at all. He basically just said, "Whatever, she's in trouble. Let's go." Didn't even stop to think about it and just ran up a mountain.
But I'm curious, would he be able to see any indication of what went down? Because we haven't heard anything from Jadzia. Would he see the soul hat or anything that he could piece together, sort of what happened without anybody saying anything? The helm is still there, but the gems aren't glowing like they were before. Would he piece anything together about that? Well, let's do a perception check. Let's see how perceptive he is about the situation itself. Well, there you go. Crit one. So not very. I'd say not. It's sweet that you're so worried about me that you don't notice anything around.
Makes sense. Nice cover. Love it. So yeah, he wouldn't pick too much about the situation. Probably just focused in on Jadzia. Yeah, absolutely. It'll kind of stand up and dust herself off and gather her mentality, I guess. And just say, "Okay, we need to get Jadzia somewhere where she can rest. I think maybe the house in Esterholt, since we're going there anyway, would be good. It's kind of a long way back to Brightport. And honestly, that city's kind of gross. But what do you guys think? Jadzia? Is she like conscious? I'd say she's like barely conscious. Like she'll nod if you ask her, but she would also nod if you asked if you wanted to just throw her off the cliff and be done with it.
Like, yeah, whatever. Good. I think she would rest more comfortably at the bottom of this cliff. Valus would totally be down for Esterholt, if only because it's the closest destination. I keep thinking, though, that I'm trying to think about what Merrick is known. And he's kind of like I said, he just ran along with everybody. All he knew is that Jadzia was in trouble and he didn't understand and he doesn't know any of the backstory. I think he'd be pretty now that everything's okay. He'd start to get pretty anxious. What the fuck is happening? Yeah, that's what I'm about to say is I think he would actually be like, hang on, what the fuck just happened?
What is all of this? What's going on? Can Kaluna roll a arcana check or something to figure out what went down? You're sort of like, well, demons and shit. Well, let's see. Okay, let's see how forthcoming the party is first. And then if you want to investigate after that. Yeah. Clearly, Valus and Una, you guys know what's going on here. There's a letter and it makes half sense. What's happened? Why did we just travel halfway across Theria, run up a mountain and try to protect our friend? What's going on? Una will just kind of like glance over at Jadzia, like obviously kind of nervous, like, I don't really know if I should be telling you, but, and then she'll look over to Merrick and Kaluna and just say, okay, it's kind of supposed to be something that's a secret.
But at this point, you guys risked your lives to come help her from it without even knowing what it was. So I feel like you're probably owed at least a bit of explanation. Jadzia can hurt me for this later, but she sold her soul to a demon for magical powers in a very dire point in her life. And since then, she's been trying to get her soul back. And I think she achieved that tonight. As Una's saying this, Jadzia is going to turn her head away and kind of like bury it in Valus's chest because she's embarrassed and she just doesn't want to look at anybody.
So Merrick's going to look at Fi and point at him and be like, did you know about this? I knew nothing. And to Kaluna as well. Kaluna's gonna like take a second because now that all the urgency has worn off, they're kind of really tired. So they're going to sort of blink just real slow and tired at Merrick. No. No. Look, it's not that I didn't trust you guys. It's I am. Fi is like a brother to me. You guys are our dearest friends, but I didn't want to betray her trust. And it it's she had her reasons for not telling many people. And to be honest, when she told me I was shit faced.
So I'm not even sure if she thought I remember. I think Merrick, I'm just trying to think about how it would be to go through something like this with just basically adrenaline for as long as it took to get all this stuff to happen and for it just to be dumping out of his system. I think he would just be in disbelief, like maybe angry, but but it all worked out. So it just very, very confusing. I think I think he would probably even kind of bark at Jadzia, despite the fact that she's in a not a good state, but I think he would bark at it. Don't you think we would have actually helped you anyway?
Like, we didn't even know anything about it, the three of us. And we came right to try to help. It doesn't. Why would you think we wouldn't be your friends, that we wouldn't help you? Why wouldn't you want our help? Una's going to step forward and kind of like put her hand up. Like, now is not the time for that. OK, that conversation has happened later. She's obviously not up to massive explanations of of soul deep betrayal and fear right now. Merrick will just put his hands up like, yeah, oh, yeah, yeah, OK, OK, OK, OK. Um, Valis would have just kind of been eyeing Merrick to see where he's going with that, but like the fact that you'd raise your you know, like raise your voice to her is just kind of like, hey, just yeah, yeah.
But he's more focused on Jadzia at the moment. I'm just imagining that Merrick's anxiety problem is probably the kind of thing that gets I'm not saying he's like at the point of turning into a werewolf. No, no, no. But any time you lose your like Merrick is not known for losing his temper. Right. And that's what I think he would probably be doing right now is kind of having a temper like, yeah, so, yeah, totally. All right. So so what now? I mean, I'm glad she's OK. I mean, I'm truly glad she's OK. But where the hell are we? And what do we do now? Esterhold?
Like, what do we what? I think Merrick's just confused. OK, so do we ever tell them that we're going to go after Zareph? I don't think we did. No, we we haven't. God, why are we so awful? Did you say that? Did Una say that? You know what? Fuck it. Yeah. OK, Merrick is going to actually throw his hands up and turn around and go face a wall like seething like I. Look, I'm sorry. Things happen fast. OK, I came back from from the ship with Zareph and then Jadzia was gone and. Merrick's going to stare at Fi. We we was only asked to to deal with Zareph shortly before all of this happened with Jadzia.
There hadn't really been a time to to regroup and discuss things since. I think Merrick's just going to go back to facing the wall. I think it's just annoying as shit more than true offense. But what like we're all we're a team where the shield of grace, where we're friends, we're everything. And I don't know what's going on. But but fine. The thing is, I care about all of you and I care about all of this. And I'm glad everybody's OK. So I guess that's that's all that matters. Look, I'm sorry, Merrick. Usually just a couple of us will stumble upon some information.
We'll bring it back to the group and then we'll all decide what to do. And then this Jadzia thing happened and that kind of got lost. And the point is, we went to Silverclaw and they they sent us after Sarah. They sent us to go cause this is going to be insane anyway. But they sent us to to bring him back and and have him tried or killed whatever they're going to do. And we're going to come back and talk to you all about it and see what you want to do. And and then Jadzia and I'm I'm really sorry. That's why we were going to be going to Esther Hole. How do you feel about that?
Do you I'm sorry I didn't ask you before. I swear it was just the insanity of things going on. Well, it's not like I'm in charge and that's not the point. It's just, you know, just common courtesy, maybe. I don't know. I mean, I like Esther Hole. I missed the mansion, to be honest. So, I mean, I'm happy to go. And I'm glad everybody's OK. It's just it just feels a little I just wish everybody would have told us what was going on. I mean, we can we can talk about the issue of transparency when we don't have soul demon slaves in our party. You know, we can. Yeah.
Fair enough. Sort this out. It's been all right. All right. Everyone's got secrets. It's been crazy. OK, well, it's I think at this point, Merrick would just it would be washing away from him like, all right, you're right. You know, like I just think I'll be ready to go. Can we just go lie down somewhere? Yeah, we all need rest. And Kaluna will start plotting out of the cave just like, oh, thank God. Yeah, let's maybe set up camp. Highmantle's not really that bad, to be honest. And I'm happy to take watch. OK. OK, so you're you're planning to kind of sit down in the forest?
I would say for the night. Right. Yeah, that makes sense. Like just kind of like chill there because we don't want to move Jadzi around too much. Well, the cool thing is camping for you guys isn't going to be an issue because you have a dragon. Oh, right. She's like a tent, a living tent. Well, I mean, I was more talking about it repelling wildlife. Nothing repels wildlife like a dragon. Not going to be attacked by a bear or anything like that. Not a not a big problem for you guys. So loading up on on Amara, this here, here are your options. Now, you can sort of start to go down the mountain and meet Amara at a lower point where she would have room to land.
Or you can have it be where Amara could just get as close to where you are as possible. And you can try and jump for it. Let's take it easy. Let's take it easy. It's a very low check either. So you're just going to climb down and meet. Yeah, I figure that's the there's no rush. No, we just faced some undead zombie troll cyclops things. Yes. I'm pretty sure. Let's just take it easy. So has Amara been like circling the top of the mountain or something? Well, she'd be close enough where the horn would summon her. OK, fair enough. Yeah, it's it's that that's that's a pretty good sum.
I don't know what Jadcia's plan was otherwise. Maybe she didn't figure she was. I don't know. You got to figure she she hoped she was going to get out. But yeah, I guess she figured she'd cross that bridge when she got to it. Valus particularly is going to take it very easy going down going down this mountain and just sort of just kind of. Kind of just cradling her where where he can. But, you know, yeah. So at a lower point, Amara is going to land. Una would blow the horn and summon her and you guys would load up and she would have to level some trees to really to really get in here and into the thick of the forest.
But that's not really a problem because you guys leveled trees just teleporting there. So there would be there'd be there'd be a couple of decent points to sit down. So you are going to make camp for the night in high mental forest. So again, you don't have to worry about a D20 roll because wildlife isn't really going to, you know, isn't really going to come after you. I guess you're spending the day there because she took off. Jadcia had taken off in the morning and it took you guys took you guys a couple of hours to get. So it would be it would be middle of the day.
But if you're letting her get some rest, I imagine you're just kind of camping out there for the day, taking it easy. Fair enough. Kalluna just face plants on some rocks and sleeps on rocks. I imagine I imagine Kalluna falling asleep like dead, like dead asleep, would just look like foliage like you wouldn't if she really looked. You wouldn't be able to tell. It's like, wait, where where's Kalluna? While you guys are camping out and sort of taking it easy for the day and letting Jadcia recoup before traveling any further. Is there anything you guys want to talk about?
Anything you want to do? Una would like to talk to Fi. Just kind of like wander over super awkwardly, like very not Una-like, pretty sheepish, like not looking so hot, kind of pale. Would that be something easy for Fi to pick up on? I'd say, yeah, like she's making no mistake. No, she's not trying to mask it or anything. I would say it's it'd be like no or very, very low perception check to realize. OK. So as as Una kind of comes over to Fi, Fi, are you feeling OK? It's just kind of like nod, like, yeah, I'm I just have something weighing on my mind, which is not something I'm used to feeling.
So I've been thinking about this going after a Seraph thing and I'm getting worried because I'm pretty sure I'm not OK with hunting him down and killing him. I thought I was, but I've been thinking about it more and especially because my mother is dead, has been dead for a long time. The temple that I associate with my pseudo parents are are dead. Craig is dead. I don't really have any other, I guess, family in the world besides you and Chazia, really. And I just I feel like I shouldn't kill him and I'm not going to be able to when it comes down to it.
And I know Silverclaw is a big fucking deal to you. So I feel really shitty about this. He's going to sit and think for a few seconds and then take a deep breath in and say, I understand it's it's hard when it comes to a matter of family. If you want to if you want to maintain your relationship with Silverclaw, I understand. I realize that that's a career opportunity for you that is pretty above and beyond anything that we do, I guess. But if you want to turn me in as a traitor, I mean, I know it's not coming from your heart. You can do that. You can you can go to them and you can you can denounce us.
I that's fine. I would I would support that if that's what you want to do. Silverclaw is is what I've I've wanted to do for as long as I can remember. And it feels like it's somewhere where I would be accepted, where maybe even somewhere I can I can better myself or learn more about myself. You you and Jadzia have have always felt like family to me. And I thank you for for not asking me to choose between you. While while I can't promise that our paths won't cross again, I will do as much as I can to ensure that the next time we meet, it's not on bad terms.
I appreciate that. I mean, I don't know if you want to just head back as soon as possible and let them know. Or if you want to say goodbye, everyone, or if you want to come to Esterhold with us. I mean, it's going to be hard to see you go, but I don't I don't want to crush your dreams. I I know what I would do to anyone who tried to crush mine. I think after everything that's that's happened today, it's it's probably best I I leave now. Tell tell them that I had something to see you back in Brightport and I couldn't follow you to Esterhold. And he's going to smile and get up and stop, stop walking in in the direction that Brightport would be.
I'm just going to like just jump up and kind of stop him really quick and just say two things really quick. First, I'm giving you a fucking hug, whether you like it or not. We have fought together for weeks. We've bled together. We've saved each other's lives. And then she's going to like just squeeze in super tight. He's going to squeeze, squeeze in a tight, tight, tightly back as well. She's going to step back and look kind of sheepish again and. She'll say, and last thing, I'm going to need that sword back. She surely is worthless to you now. I kind of for the same reason I didn't give up the hammer of cord.
I don't know. I just feel like they came into my life for a reason and I have to keep an eye on them both. And honestly, this is a bit selfish, but if we ever have to face each other on the battlefield, I don't want an enemy of mine if you have to be that wielding that weapon. If it comes to me having to face you, it won't be on a battlefield. I'll make sure of that, because without this, I highly doubt that I could beat you again. But Fi removes the sword from its bindings and hands it over to Uina. She'll like kind of visit, like tear up a little bit because like she knows how hard it is to part with with a weapon like that.
And like what kind of strength of character it takes to to do that. So it's obvious that like this is a very emotional thing for her and she'll just kind of like nod and say, "You're a good man Fi, it's going to be impossible to replace you. And I know you're going to destroy in a good way anyone who stands in your way. And I hope I never have to fill that role." I hope so too. I hope that in the future we can talk as friends again, but I doubt that that time will come anytime soon. Uina will just kind of like put the sword on her pack and then just bow really deeply to Fi.
Fi is going to bow in return and then turn to walk away again. Okay, you are camping out. Is there anything anybody else wants to do or are you pretty much just resting for a day? Uina will come back and tell everyone that he left. I don't want to just like make that make that Merrick, Fi or reality. I think it's going to happen anyway. Honestly, if Uina comes back and says that Fi, like by the way, actually what does Uina say? Does you know, is there a particular thing that you wanted to describe it as? How would you, how would Uina put it? Oh God, how would she put it?
Like on record, Jadzia is asleep in Gurtun's entire scene. So is Kaluna. Valus is going to hang out with Jadzia and get out of the way. She asleep? He just like grabs her and drags her backwards. He's going to be keeping watch over her. Into the forest. Yeah, just shh. You just hear leaves rustling. It's like, okay, whatever, that's normal tiefling behavior. He's like, this is the first time I've dragged a live body. So it's like Merrick staring at a campfire, poking it with a stick or something. Everybody else is kind of just dead. Valus is alive. He's awake.
He's just kind of keeping watch. He's removed from the camp. If it makes you feel better, Kaluna is probably right next to Merrick. Yeah, no, of course. We're all keeping safe, but yeah. Uina will come back from the woods and just kind of like sit down by the fire. And she'll kind of just like take a deep breath and just go, uh, so he has left. He's left like left to go to the bathroom type left or left like left left. He's gone for good. I told him I probably wouldn't be able to kill my father and I was having second thoughts about doing that. And he Silver Claw is kind of his dream.
So I figured it would be easier to to go report back to them that I failed than to try and excuse his actions at a later date. OK, OK, OK. I understood about three of the words you said. So your father is one thing. I'm just putting flags in the in the in the conversation here. Your father, Silver Claw. That's enough flags, honestly. What are you talking about? I think I went over this briefly in the cave, but I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm trying. I'm trying. We we and I took gratitude to Silver Claw. Tessie sent us to go take him there. OK. Yeah. Remember that? Yeah.
But the father thing there was you talked about Sarah. Is are you talking about Sarah being your father? I'm pretty sure he is. I can't be certain. I know it's not exactly appealing. But we can't really choose who our parents are. OK, so so he's gone and doesn't want us to follow. No, he does not want us to follow. And not in a Jadzia way in a we'll fuck up his life if we try and follow. That's the saddest news I've ever heard. But I respect it. All right. So what do we do now? What's the deal? What's what do we need to do with Sarah? I mean, I'd like to go talk to him and maybe warn him.
I honestly don't know. At this point, I'm kind of grasping for straws of meaning and maybe he'll have one. He's not the best of dudes, right? He's not certainly not from our interactions. He didn't seem like he was a straight up fellow, right? Yeah. From what I can tell, he's a fucking scumbag. But at the same time, my mother was the exact opposite. So if he is my father, she was a very careful woman. And in one of her professions does not make mistakes like me. So she obviously knew what she was doing if he is my father. And in that case, I don't know. Maybe she saw something in him that would that said I would make a good father or something.
I think Merrick would take a few moments to digest all of that. I mean, I'm just trying to think about Merrick for the past couple of weeks has just been from one thing to the next and not. He just kind of takes it all in stride. But I think he's starting to realize that he needs to ask more questions because he makes sense to him at all. I mean, he's just like, oh, OK, yeah, let's go find a monster hunter person. OK, great. Why? I don't care. Let's just do it. But I think he's starting to get to the point now where things don't make sense to him, but he would mull this over and just digest it and say, OK, well, all right, let's find him.
I don't think that I'm forgetting about. Faith, I, I know that's a question with you and that's a huge question with me. And that's not that's not being paused to deal with my father. I just know. But you have parents, I'm sure. You know them like. No, I was in the firehouse. I was raised by the clerics of the sanctuaries. I never knew my parents. I don't know anything about them, but I understand what it means. So if that's what you need to find is. You need to find answers, you need to find something. To connect your mom and you and your father, whoever it might be, then I understand.
This will be the last time that anything gets decided without. Without you knowing, I'm sorry. It is not it's not that it's not that I need to make decisions. I just. I trust all of you with my life and I know that I'm not necessarily the easiest companion to have. I I'm a danger to myself. I'm a danger to all of you. I know that. And I'm acutely aware of it. I just I just want. I just want all of you to trust me. Ultimately, is what it is. But it's not about making decisions. It's not about that. It's not that I need to be the one who makes it OK. I just I just want to be part of the group and feel like it.
So we haven't talked about this much. And I realize this is a bad time to bring this up. But the werewolf thing. Do you do you want us to find a way to work towards curing that? Do you? Yeah. Well, listen, I've been sitting here all day resting and thinking about what Jadzia just went through. She I'm imagining it for however long it's been that she's been without a soul. And I didn't know that. And it it has to be painful either emotionally or physically. I don't know how it works, but that's something that she just got corrected and she did it on her own.
She figured it out and she mended it. And that's made me think, yeah, you know, I don't know how long I've had this affliction or curse or whatever it is, but I've never wanted it. And it makes me think, well, maybe I can find a way to get rid of this. I don't even know if it's possible. But and I'm not the most important thing to do here, the most important person in the in the group. And I've lived with this. And as long as you can live with me like this, I understand. I just don't want to put anybody in danger. So, you know what? Yeah, I would love to get rid of this.
I'd love to find a way to not have this be part of my life. I don't want to be a monster. So, yeah. But I don't know where to start. We'll find a way. Don't worry about danger. Our lives are dangerous. We're the adventure. You're a fucking werewolf. I'm a paladin who became famous and then rejected her faith. Jadzia bargained her soul and and then got it back. Valis is known around Theria for being one of those vicious fucking things that exists. Kaluna is a tree person who is now trying to insert herself into human society. Our lives are insane. Yeah. Yeah. It makes complete sense that we would try and get this fixed for you.
OK. When you put it that way, let's let's go. I don't even know where to start. But but yeah, let's I'd appreciate your help. All of you. And it's you just described this entire group of people and things and creatures that that are completely insane. But I can't think of a better group to be able to do a little bit of research and actually make something like this happen. I mean, just imagine what we could have done to help Jadzia. Have we all been involved? Yeah. Please don't pull a Jadzia and and go off and do this on your own. There's no way I don't even know where to begin.
So. All right. Well, let's talk. And as far as faith goes, that's something that we're not going to get an answer for anytime soon. That's a much bigger, bigger question, but I haven't forgotten either. OK, let's rest up and and then we'll go to Esterhole and we'll figure out stuff with Serif and we'll do research about the werewolf stuff and we'll get this done. Thanks. Merrick's going to sort of clap his hand on his back, kind of like all that shit about feeling slighted and all that is sort of gone. Cool. She'll just kind of like nod like, yeah, bro. And and then just like walk a couple steps and just kind of curl up in the grass and fall asleep.
OK. So party's going to get some rest. Jadzia is feeling marginally better. She's she's going to be a bit more lucid. She you know, the you know, getting rest for a day really helped out. Obviously, she went through a very traumatic experience the day before, but she is not she's not in physical pain. She's more sore and just. Shaken. I yeah, I would say more shaken, a little more, maybe a little shock would be the best way to describe it. But yeah, she is much she is much better off than she was the day previous. OK. That morning, you know, we'll like kind of wait for Jadzia to get up whenever she wakes up and then just kind of like gently ask, like, hey, do you think you're ready to to to travel?
We can wait another day. We're safe here. Honestly, at this point, Jadzia would be like, you know, she's waking up and she feels fine. She would probably ask where we're going. Oh, right. So where's she? Because I was asleep. God. Yeah. OK. Yeah, Valis would be curious about that, too. More because Valis likes to keep an eye on Fi, not not out of genuine concern. It's more like, where is he? I don't like him where I can't find him. OK. Exposition though? Yeah. It's OK for you to just go. She tells her. OK, thank you. That catches her up. Yeah, yeah. And we'll just catch Jadzia up and what the hell's going on with Fi and Fi leaving and why they're going to Esterhold and all that stuff.
OK, Jadzia will accept that at face value. Valis would have an issue. He would speak up. Aren't you wanted in Esterhold? Yes. I just burst out laughing, muted, just so you know. Yes, I am. But A, sometimes you take risks and B, I have something that might calm temperatures there a little bit. And then she'll kind of like just kind of gesture to the sword. You remember carving your name into that woman's chest, right? Or into her sword? Either way, I don't think a sword will help. I mean, if I keep, I don't know how the hell I'm going to do this. I'm kind of recognizable.
But if I just kind of keep my head down and not make a big deal about being back in Esterhold, I think it should be fine. If anything does come up, don't worry about it. I'll figure it out. Jadzia is just going to be like, "All right, let's go." If you don't want to go, we don't have to. I'll find a way to send a message to Seraph some other way. Well, the whole thing with Phe leaving now, what is your plan for Seraph? I want to warn him that they're coming to kill him. And I want to figure out if he is actually my father and if he is, why the fuck he's actually my father.
I think I know why. Your mother lived in a brothel. See, when a drow and a human love each other very much. Very, very much. All right. It all sounds good to me. Like, I don't see why we shouldn't go as long as you're willing to keep your head down and keep that sword and your hammer hidden. Oona is going to look visibly uncomfortable about not walking around armed. Well, don't throw it away. No, no, no, no. Like, but like leaving it in the house or something. Borrow my cloak. Oh, there you go. Oh, actually, that'd be perfect. It would probably fit her. The bottom's really fucked up.
It's been dragging all over the ground. Oona's also going to be like, "Also, do I have any books about lycanthropy?" I don't even think I have to ask God. I'm pretty sure that's a yes. God? Yeah, I figured. Yes, most definitely. He had books on every kind of- and then she's going to kind of eye Merrick a little bit and be like, "Fing." She was clearly going to say like, "Everything awful," but then Merrick. So, you know, everything. So Oona looks kind of grimace, like she has recognized that awkward pause and just say, "Excellent. Let's get you there so you can rest some more and we'll just take care of things up there." And Jugzia will give you her cloak so you can cover your items of course.
So you don't have to take them off your belt. They're just hidden beneath the cloak. Cool. Oona will put the hood up and all that shit and make sure all of her very visible tattoos are covered. Wear gloves, you know. I'm just going to rub her now exposed arms because she doesn't take her cloak off very often. It's kind of awkward. I'm assuming, Kaluna, what's your nature? My nature is incredible is what it is. So what I'm thinking is this. We're in the forest. Would Kaluna be able to find some plants or something around that would be able to be used as a dye for like hair or something like that?
Because there's two things that Merrick would have associated with Oona. It's her white hair and her tattoos. And she's kind of taking care of the tattoos, but in a way that kind of almost is just as noticeable. Oh yeah. But her hair... It's not that Oona stands out less. But her hair is something that if she were to come into town with dark hair, brown hair, she might not be recognizable as quickly. Yeah. Very smart actually. I thought you were going for green and I was like, fuck yeah, green hair, let's do it. Or green. But whatever, just innocuous is whatever we can possibly do.
Just plants. So not green. I didn't know. Find some really pretty red flowers. She would look hot as a redhead. Ooh, yeah, she's got those green eyes. Honestly. Honestly, I mean, whatever it is, it would be the opposite of white, which I guess would be either super innocuous or just super in the other direction. But I wouldn't want anybody to get, you know, I wouldn't want Oona to walk into town and people to keep looking at her because that's completely beside the point. So Merrick would ask Oona, could you, exactly that, could you find something that would, that could dye her hair?
Need your check? Great. Fuck you, Dice. Twenty five. Even rolling eight. I was holding it for so long, I was like, yeah, I've got this color and this color and this color and this color. Yeah. You, okay, it only takes Kaluna a short amount of time to gather some ingredients together. So you can make a makeshift dye. It's only going to last for a day or so. That's enough. It's very temporary. It'll wash right out. So as long as it isn't raining and you're caught out in the rain, you're fine. Kaluna is going to have lots of fun helping, like put it in. Those little foil things.
I mean, is that Oona, is that OK? I mean, this, this, we're just trying to make sure nobody can notice you. That's, that's brilliant. I wish I had thought of that. Yeah, because Oona's hair is so, you know, so white, this will, this will turn into a very light brown. So I basically rubbed mud into my hair. It's kind of, it almost has that effect. It's almost, yeah. I mean, this will, this, this, you'll blend in, like you'll just have light brown hair that'll be like, you know, there's tons of people. The white hair stands out. Just so you know, if she has white hair, it'll take at least a week for any dye to wash out.
Just saying. Yeah, but in Theria. But in Theria. Right. It's just kind of like, whatever. She doesn't want to be, because she doesn't want to create trouble for the group where she knows will happen if she gets recognized. So she's pretty like, pretty serious about like staying under, under the radar, which is kind of hard with the recognizable group that she hangs out with. Right. But if they kind of like go into town without her and then she kind of just shambles in later as it's looking like somebody else, like she'll, she's willing to take like steps to avoid trouble writing down the group.
Jason, what would it take for Merrick to swiftly and deftly take a dagger, grab her hair and just slice? You will die. All of it off, like, like a big chunk out of the bag. No. Don't do it. I will place my fucking mouth onto your eyes and suck out your eyeballs and spit them into your asshole. Oh, wow. That would turn into a Japanese demon, just so you know. I kind of want to see that happen. I don't know. There, there would be some level of his cooperation at a certain point. Um, roll an athletics check. Oh, God damn it. 24. Fuck. Okay. Um, so does that beat Una's reflex?
This is not, this is not out of malice. This is just out of him thinking he's making the right decision, right? Just like, I got it. So Merrick is going to reach out and grab Una's hair in one deft motion and slice a good chunk of it off with his dagger. And, um, his hand is going to come away holding a large, just a handful of Una's mane. Uh, so like how short is it now? Um, the way I would see him doing it is, so it's, you know, her hair's been dyed, whatever's being done to it. And whatever, whenever he sort of sees a moment to do it, he would just grab it and with his hand as close to her head, you know, like pulling as much of hair as he could.
And then just to get a good tension on it and then, yeah, like, so it would be a bob. Yeah. Oh, okay. Um, so I don't know how many of you had had long hair, but it's heavy. So when a lot of it gets cut off, suddenly your head gets very light and you realize, um, so. Absolutely. Um, Thales is going to reach, Thales is going to reach for his dagger right away. Okay. As soon as Una realizes that the hair is gone, she will spin around. I guess she's been sitting down cause they're dying her hair or whatever. Um, jump up, spin around, see Merrick with the giant swath of her hair in his hand and just pounce.
Like no hesitation, just screaming at him. Like not words, just bellowing. He would be absolutely surprised cause I think he, he wasn't, he wasn't trying to be a dick. Like he, he was just like, Hey, listen, if we're going to do this, let's do it. You know, I'm not going to ask her cause I know she's not going to like it, but this is, this is the right thing to do. Like he probably didn't realize this was going to be a dick move. Um, um, uh, I think initially Kaluna would look really offended that Merrick would do that while they were, you know, working on Una's hair.
Like, excuse you motherfucker. I'm working here, but then. I'm creating. This is art right here. But um, then they would see Una leap at him and they would sort of scramble to try and like stop Una. Um, Thales is going to continue to move toward Merrick. Oh no. What, where's Merrick's attention here? Is he? That's up to you. I mean the woman screaming at you. I mean, I think, I think that's his, he's surprised at that. Like, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa. No way. Why not? Valis hasn't drawn a blade. He's just, he's just assessing. He's just kind of assessing the situation here.
And he's moving. Just like, Jett's just gasping. Like, she's like, what the fuck? Oh my God. So dead. Um, uh, Una will like grab Merrick's shoulders and just like, just slam him onto the ground, like on his back and just kind of like kneel like on, on his chest and just like, what the fuck have you done? Oh my God. This was not what he expected at all. I think, would it, does he have any control? Like, is he, are his arms free or anything? You can, you can roll an athletics check if you want to. No, I mean, just like all I want to be able to do is just sort of like reach out with the tuft of hair.
Like, like he's trying to give it back to her in some way. I don't think that's gonna help. I think he'd be like, yeah, I'm here. I don't know. Valus, Valus is going to reach down and put a hand on Una's shoulder. Just kind of a, okay, let's take a breath here and try to, try to pull up on her a little bit to try and get her off of Merrick a little bit. She would have spin her head around and just bite him. Jesus Christ. Um, But she's not having this. Right. No. Um, okay. You are going to bite into Valus's hand. Do me a favor, roll a flat E6. Oh, like not hard.
Not like hard enough to draw blood. Just like, just like nipping his hand, like get the fuck off me, you know? Like a dog. Do I still have to roll a D6? Okay. Um, okay, no. If you're not trying to hurt. No, she's not trying to sink her teeth into his flesh or anything. Well, I didn't know. She's just trying to, she's just trying to like, just like scare him enough to get his head off her. Okay. Valus is going to pull back. Just kind of like, like, not, not that he didn't expect resistance, but you to physically bite at him with your teeth. It's like, dude, like that's, Valus is going to try and wrap, uh, wrap his arms around Una to drag her off of Merrick.
Jadzia's going to come over and she's going to kind of put her hands like around Una's hair, like, oh fuck, like pulling it back a little bit and like touching it just a little. I mean, like, it's okay. It's, we can fix it, honey. It's okay. Like she realizes how upset Una is because she also has super long hair. And she's like, oh fuck. And she's trying to make her feel better. Like we can fix it. It's going to look nice. I promise. Una is flipping out, like screaming, yelling, like thrashing, like just not want anyone like except Merrick to die. Like she's just like, you must die now.
That's, that's, that's what's going to happen. Let me have, okay, let me have Valus roll an athletics check to try and grab at Una. Uh, 16. Does that beat your foil, dude? No, it doesn't. No, that's not, 16 isn't going to do it. Um, uh, yeah, he's going to try and grab it. So he'll, he'll kind of grab it in his shoulders, but it's ineffective. Like he's not, he's not putting enough strength into like yank her off. Just. Okay. She'll, she'll drag Merrick up to like her, if, if Valus is like pulling on her so she can't like lean down. Um, but she'll drag Merrick up so he's like an inch from her face and she'll say, I haven't cut this since my mother died.
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. This was, I just wanted to make sure that nobody knew who you were, that we weren't seen. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I thought it was the right thing to do. I didn't mean, I'm sorry. God damn it, Merrick's apologizing. No, it's just. Valus. You know, after especially all the stuff you just said earlier to him about your father and your mother, I think he's just realizing he probably feels sick that he did. He didn't realize that was at all part of the deal. Um. And he's back down. Like he's just like, like he's not struggling.
He's not resisting. He's just like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh, yeah. She'll like, she'll kind of realize like, okay, like he didn't mean to, to, to fuck it up. Like, you know, she's not, she's not calm at all. Um, but she was kind of like drop him and just kind of like shove Valus off and just kind of like storm away. Just see things still and like, like fucking with her hair, like grabbing it and just kind of like, yeah, just, just like trying to like feel the, the hair that's not there. Like phantom hair syndrome. Did you? Thancia will follow behind. Did Una take the hair that, that like the cut off hair?
Does Merrick still have it in his hands? Seriously? Uh, she did not take it. No. I think Merrick would try to find some way. Like, I think he would feel completely gutted. Um, even though I think he was making the right decision for the group, he wasn't thinking about Una, but I think what he would start doing is trying to find a way to, to save that hair, like put something around it, to tie it together, just to keep it. Like, I don't think you throw it away. That's good. Maybe I can put on a helmet or something. Like a rider or the Rohan or some shit. The, uh, the entire time that's going, all that was going on, Kaluna was just sort of like panicking in the background.
Like, Oh God, Oh God, I don't know what to do. So as soon as Una leaves, um, Kaluna is going to like charge over to Merrick and do that protective grabby thing. Like, Oh my God, Oh my God, are you okay? Don't worry. Don't worry. If she comes back, I'll bite her. I promise. Oh God. It's okay. That was, no, I'm, I deserved it. I deserved it. Kaluna will pat his face like, no. Valus is going to reach down and offer a hand to Merrick to help him out. Merrick's gonna take it. Oh God. Okay. What do I fucking do? I don't know why this is like, it's just cause like I have such long hair that it's like, this is exactly how I would react if somebody cut off my hair, you know?
Jadzia is still like kind of hovering over you like a mother hen. Like we're going to fix it. What do you want to do? Like we can do, like she's like trying to suggest things that she can do to fix it. And she's not really, she's never hung out with many women. So she's just like, Oh, we can put it in a pony tail? Oh God. Okay. Um, we're just gonna like find like, take a deep breath and like turn around to Jadzia and just like, okay, give me a fucking mohawk. Fucking baller. All right. Um, I think I can do that. I have a dagger. Which by the way, over the next few days as, as it starts to wear out, it's going to go from like a light brown to like stark white.
Like it's going to, it's going to be storm. Oh, she totally does have a mohawk storm is my favorite storm. I'm slowly turning into storm guys. It's beautiful. I will be one with the storm. So Una now has a mohawk. I don't know what you're using to keep it up, honestly, but even if it flops to the side, I think that would pull it anyway. Ah, yeah. Fuck yeah. So are you, are we, are we departing now? Are we climbing on Amara? We need to get the Astrahole you guys. Yeah, enough. I want to play with him. I am not sitting in front of Marek. As always, Valus is not ecstatic about climbing on the back of this fucking dragon.
But he'll, he'll help Jadzia up and I would imagine everyone else jumps on and I guess Jadzia is kind of got to lead the way because she's got to talk to Amara. Well Amara knows where we've been. We've been to Astrahole before on Amara. Right. So I can just let her know that we are on the front view. Make sure that she flies further outside of town because we don't want to be recognized as the group that fucking flies the dragon, you know? Right. Um, okay. Are there mountains near Astrahole? I took down my thing. Oh yeah. Alright then, um, I will instruct her to go behind the mountains to get, like, so, so no one in Astrahole can see us and then park on the mountains at the roll or anything.
Um. We have to have a better repertoire at this point. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're fine. I'm not. Okay. Cool. You were right there with the, so somewhere around the Blackrock Mountains. Somewhere in there. Sounds perfect. So somewhere north of Odyssea, it's in between, yeah, so you, it'll give you guys, there's a pass there and yeah, you guys should be fine. Um, so some time passes, and you guys are going to nestle yourself in between these mountains and let Amara be, and Amara, when you leave her be, is gonna go look for some food because it's been a while since she's eaten.
And there are plenty of things for her to hunt in the mountains here, so she'll make out just fine. And you guys have a hike ahead of you. Oh my god, Kaluna was made for hiking, guys. Someone do me a favor, roll a flat d20. Nope. Let's not encounter anything, I'm so pissed I would just eat them alive. Then I would roll well. My roll sucks since the moment we open this table. I'll fucking whatever else there's a whole thing. Nine, we're fucked. Nine's not the worst though. Nine's below a ten. Nine's- It's almost a ten. But it's more than an eight. Yeah. It is. Well that took you long enough for this. 'Cause I almost said it's more than a nine.
I'm not even joking. I had to stop the N sound from leaving my mouth. I couldn't add three and four yesterday. Not yesterday, but the other day. It was really sad. That's six, right? College. So, yeah, let's pocket that nine. Let's just hold on to that nine for a while. I don't like that. No. Let's use it now. Tell us the horrible thing that happens. Just relax. You guys are so- just relax. No. Hours are gonna pass, and you are gonna reach the city of Esterholt. Are you making a beeline for your mansion? Una will hang back and try and find Seraph and just kind of like skulk around trying not to be seen.
She's gonna split off from the group so that when people see the group, 'cause they're super recognizable, they don't like- they're like, "Oh, the paladin's not with them." You know? Right. Do me a favor and roll a streetwise check then. Let's see if you can do that. Oh thank god, I've got good streetwise. This is like the first time I've ever used a streetwise. 28. Seraph is not a very hard man to track down if you know the right people. And Una apparently knows the right people. So, Una will be able to track Seraph down to a series of alleyways on the rougher portion of Esterholt ever since Cecil died.
There's some things you're gonna learn from your streetwise check. Ever since Cecil died, there's been a tiny bit of a power vacuum. Turns out Cecil didn't wield that much power, especially toward the end of his run. You guys were causing some trouble for him and you, A, trying to clean up the town, and B, you embarrassed him on multiple occasions and that didn't do much for his rep. So it caused a tiny bit of a power vacuum which Seraph easily scooped up. He's a much more capable person. And right now, there is a bit that the mayor, Mayor Keller has been completely removed from the situation.
She is all but powerless within her own city. Julie has started recruiting and gathering all of the paladins that she can find. She actually sent word out the day that you assaulted her and brought in paladins from cities like Albury and Donhurst. And anybody who is a follower of Kord has been asked to gather in Esterholt. So there is a bit of a war going on between Seraph and his people and Julie and her people. Fantastic. Yes, there are problems. So you are going to find Seraph. Now is this the thing where you're approaching him or you just want to know where he is?
I guess probably just talk to him because that's what I came here to do after all. The rest of the group may get back to the map you mentioned okay? Well I was going to say I don't know how we should get there. Should we all go as a group or should we try to sort of trickle in? There has been enough stuff going on. Honestly I just assumed we were all staying with Una. Oh no she split off because she didn't want you guys to be recognized as hanging out with the paladin. Plus it's easier if somebody sees all you guys and then somebody who kind of looks like Una but has short hair.
Right. You know like they could put two and two together. So we'll just split the party and then we'll catch up with the rest of the group and just yeah. We'll just catch up with them in just a minute and I'm going to ask them a series of questions. Oh great we're going to get your nine Izzy thanks. I'm so sorry. Wait that nine should be for me Jason. If we're splitting up that makes sense right? You don't get a say in that right now. Don't worry. That was the most menacing thing I've ever heard. Give me that's your nine. Sorry. So Seraph is going to see you approach because yeah big fucking red cloak.
But you know he's yeah he's got pretty trained eyes and and he's going to give he's going to give a little smile when he sees Una approaching and say nothing. Cool I guess that leaves that to me. So she probably realizes that like at this point he recognizes her. He does recognize her right? Like okay so she'll kind of push the hood back to reveal her fucking mohawk. And just like is he sitting down? Where are we? Are we just in some alleyway? You are in an alleyway right now and he was just delegating some things to some people. And honestly this is just a place that is dark.
It's out of the way. It's midday for you guys but it is it is still sort of shadowy and out of the way and he just kind of prefers it that way being a drow. Okay cool so she'll just walk right up and be like yeah can we talk somewhere? Your hair looks terrible. Yeah I'm fucking aware that was not my choice. And he is going to shoo people away and make sure that he's the only one and he's the only one. He's the only one back there with you and he's going to escort you to this little alcove that is normally used for storage. There used to be a bar here so they would store crates of ale and or crates and then like barrels of ale and things like that in the back here.
But now it's just sort of abandoned so it is just you two. Cool. Okay so a couple things. Silverclaw knows where you are and they sent me and my group to kill you and one of my compatriots was totally for that and then I changed my mind. So I'm warning you about that. How exactly did they find out? We told them. I have to say you are the most unreliable initiate I've ever had. Initiate? He's going to cock an eyebrow. The thief didn't tell you. Tell me what? Like she's like she realized something fucking fishy is going up now like she's pissed like what did the thief promise you?
Do you and your group work for me? Or at least you were supposed to. I haven't been able to find you since he struck the deal though. Yeah we've been busy. And we didn't know so can't really fault us there. Alright. When did you tell them? About a day and a half ago. We are the ones that they sent. My compatriot who left to go join them left us about six hours ago but he's on foot and we flew. He's going to inch his hand toward the hilt of his dagger eyeballing you the entire time never breaking eye contact. And do you still intend on bringing me to them? Yeah I do that's why I shaved off all my hair.
No no I came to warn you because I'm pretty fucking positive that you are my father and that's the second thing I want to talk about and I didn't mean to break it that way but that's what happened. I told you before you look a lot like her. At least you did before the haircut. Yeah, and he's sort of regarding the haircut again just like sort of just a look of disgust coming it's like, it is like super pissed because like she she kept her hair like that because like that's what her mom did and you know it's like this connection thing. She's like, yeah, yeah, that's why I had my hair like that.
Yes, I realized it looks terrible. Yes, at least it will be white at some point soon. What would you like to know. Are you acknowledging this. It seems like any refutable fact at this point. So you've known for some time. Okay, great father figure you are. Sorry, just a little bitter. You know, you know my mother's dead right. She's been dead for a while. Yes. Awesome. And you didn't feel like maybe coming to me and telling me that I had a father out there somewhere who. Okay, maybe telling me that I had a father who gave a shit about me would have been lying.
Do I have a father who gives a shit about me. One. I didn't want to interfere in your life. Two. You were a part of a very large army at the time, if you recall. Three. I was honestly hoping that you wouldn't put two and two together. She wouldn't want it. What happened, and she's not she was not the kind of woman who makes mistakes, so I'm not a mistake. When she met me. I wasn't exactly a client. I had protected her from certain individuals. We were actually together for quite some time. And eventually, she decided that she wanted a child. Unfortunately, my line of work made me a danger to her.
Eventually, she decided that she wanted me out of your life, just in case harm could come to you. I've avoided you ever since. At least directly. Indirectly? I've kept an eye on you. Or had people keep an eye on you. Well, I'm certainly glad I decided not to kill you. I was like, like choking up a little bit like, Good thing you didn't die just now with me killing you. You realize you are wanted in the city, right? Yeah, that's why the haircut. Where's the rest of your party? I left them as we entered the city. They are working their way towards the mansion.
He's going to spring up and start moving immediately. What? What's going on? Come with me. Now. Okay. Yeah, Una will follow him. Let's catch up with the rest of the party. Yay. What the fuck was that nine? I'm so sorry. Paladins are going to murder us. Yeah. Or Seraph's own men. It could just be that. Dude, if Seraph murders you guys, I'll kill him. Don't worry. I don't think that's what they're worried about. Vengeance. Yeah. That's cool. Dude, if I die right now, I'll be fucking pissed. I've got your soul back. No time to enjoy it. It was just getting comfy. So the party's going to arrive at the mansion and find that it's been boarded up.
The front and back entrance have been... There's big heavy boards nailed to it. Valus is going to start to look around immediately because that's a bad sign. Everyone roll Perception if you would. Fuck you. It almost went on a 19. I saw. Ooh, 18. I got a 14. I only got a 20, guys. Poor thing. 13. Keep it up, Valus. Let's not break that stride. Yeah, no. It's only been a couple years of your shitty fucking rolls. Let's just keep going with that. So looking around, you're not going to see anyone. It looks to be abandoned for all intents and purposes. And it looks to be intentionally like they're trying to keep people out of it.
They have boarded it up. Maybe to send a message. Maybe... Maybe it's just a smart idea because it's fucking Darmok's house. It could be. Valus is going to start to pry at these boards. And sort of wedge his sword in behind them and start to pry these out one by one. I imagine with that sword it wouldn't even be very hard. He'd just kind of like, "ping, ping, ping." Yeah, Merrick's going to come up and just sort of take the other side of things and just start doing the same thing with whatever parts of his Morningstar he can do. Betsia's just going to keep looking around because first of all she doesn't have any type of weapon that could help.
And second of all, hey, you're doing it. Whatever. Yeah, Kalina's going to keep an eye out. Like, this is definitely weird. Yeah. I don't like this. Got some bad vibes, man. After a few minutes of prying these out, you are going to have access to the front door. I would imagine you're stepping inside. Merrick's going to sort of do the after you to Valus. Jadzia will kind of get right up beside him because she's like, "It's my motherfucking house." Kind of bullshit. Can Kalina poke their head in first and just make sure there's nothing weird inside? Merrick's trying to get Valus to go in first in case there's some problem whatsoever.
So he's going to kind of hold Kalina back a little bit. Like, "No, no, no, no, no." Valus is going to walk in. And everyone do me a favor. OK, are you walking in behind him or are you waiting to see if something happens, basically? Honestly, Jadzia would be right beside him. I mean, I wish we would have rolled like a Dungeoneering check or something first, but we clearly did not. So we're probably going to fall into somebody. If you're behind us, you can. I just want to watch us walk right into it. Look, I got held back. No, it's not like let them go on it.
We're all going in at the same time. It's just that I was just letting Valus go first in case something fell, you know, like on his head or something like there's a trap. OK, but no, it's we're all going in together. It's home alone. That's what it is. It's just. Yeah, nothing's going to be on the other side of this door when you open it. Although it does look as though they have tore this place apart. Someone has. Dude, sue the fuck out of him. Just saying that's your private property. You have the deeds and shit. Anyway, Jadzia is understandably upset. People keep wrecking my house.
First, Izzy knocked in all of the doors. But honestly, I think the first thing she would do is probably run up to check the library. Do me a favor. No, with all those books that we were going to use. She doesn't know shit about the library. She went into the wrong room. Actually, she's in the bathroom. Like, where are the books? Well, something you're going to realize right away is that a lot of these books are missing. And the ones that are not missing have been torn apart or outright destroyed in some fashion. The only thing they didn't do is set fire to this place.
And this was clearly done to send a message. Fucking shit. So we're definitely going to join up with Seraph and kill the paladin. That's pretty much upset Jadzia. That's pretty much the only thing in this house she actually liked. You're coming in a little quiet. Am I? Really? Because I'm actually being quite loud. There you go. That's literally the only part of this house Jadzia actually liked and cared about. She's just going to kind of stand there staring at everything. Almost shaking. She's so mad. Valus is going to come up behind her and just kind of put his hands on her shoulders.
But it's just like, "Oh, this sucks." He knows that that's the only room in this house you kind of felt comfortable in. And then she's going to take a very deep breath. Very calmly, but almost too calmly. Let's find out who did this. Um, Merrick. Kaluna. Do me a favor, roll perception. Thank you. My god, 34. Or on the other hand a crit one. I got a 13. Thank you for giving me your numbers that you lost. Welcome. All yours. Um, Kaluna in exploring the first floor of this house is going to come up on the kitchen and posted. There's kind of a big flat wall before you get to the kitchen doors.
And there is a notice that has been tacked onto the wall here. Which Kaluna can't read. Cool. Kaluna will definitely point it out to Merrick. Like, that looks important, right? Yeah, I mean, what does Merrick see? The notice is just telling you that this property has been seized by the Temple of Kord. Fucking Julie. And that trespassers will be lost. What state is the kitchen in? Yeah, I think Merrick's going to just poke his head in and just assume. Just for a second, just a quick glance. What does he see with the kitchen? Um, rain sacks. Just one lone grief roll.
With a knife in it. It's all stale and gross. And it was cherry filled, so it's kind of like blood coming out. Sorry, Merrick sees that notice, he's honestly going to laugh out loud. He's just going to shake his head like, fucking, you're fucking kidding me. Alright, if Jodzia hears that, she's going to come over, but you go to Una first. Una and Seraph are going to make it to this place. Seraph is going to kind of creep up to the door and peek his head in. Just sort of poke in and look around. And not seeing any paladins, he is just going to wander in. Una will not have the subtlety of her father.
And she will just bar straight in and be like, Jodzia, Jodzia, oh my god, Merrick, Kaluna! Seraph is going to look at Una like, what the fuck? What do you not get about this? She's not sneaky. Right, no. Everyone in the house is going to be able to hear her. Alright, Jodzia will... She was looking for clues as to who the fuck she's going to have to murder, but she'll come as soon as she hears. So the party is going to get back together and see Una and Seraph standing there. And Seraph is going to very quickly, we need to leave now. Jodzia is going to glare at him because she's not sure if it's him or not.
Who did this? When Jodzia asks that, Merrick is going to rip off the notice. And he's going to just stomp over to Una and hand it to her. Can Jodzia snatch it away? She's a mad guy. Kaluna is very confused, like looking between people like, what? This doesn't look messy to me. What's going on, guys? Well, no. Kaluna's not dumb. They know that it's been ransacked. I don't know, if you live in a forest, you know. They've been in the house before, they know. They're just confused about the notice because it wasn't read to them. They just know that it's important.
Right. So I'll take that. She's going to read it and then she'll give it back to Una, but she's not even looking at her. How many books were taken versus how many were destroyed? With your perception roll, you wouldn't know. God damn it, that was an eight. Fair enough. I want the rest of them back. So we're going to have to have a talk with the temple of court. OK, so, Una's going to read this note and just kind of like, just like crumple as like a human. Just kind of like flop down to her knees and just like rake her fingers through her mohawk slash along her scalp.
And just kind of like sit there with her head in her hands like, fuck. She doesn't even know what to do. Like, it's just like she's furious and upset for her friends and like all this shit. So yeah, she'll just sit there. Valis is actually going to reach down and start to try and pick her up and try to pick her up and just, I think we should leave. Because he's going to start putting two and two together on the situation and just you are in a place you should not be. Yeah, yeah. Una will like let herself be stood up, I guess. From the outside. Here comes the nine, guys.
Yay. Good, I want to hurt them. From the outside of this, of the building, you are going to hear a very familiar voice shout from the street, "Una an halata!" And then there's a pause just to make sure that they have your attention. And then she's going to continue to shout, "You are under arrest. Come out and surrender peacefully." And obviously this is Julie's voice. Oh, God. Okay, so right now we're in the house or we're on the street. Okay, we're in the house. Merrick's going to look at Seraph and sort of do a like, "Okay, like, well, like, what do you think?" Seraph is, as soon as Seraph hears her voice, it's like, he's just going to like lower his head like, "Fuck." Like that is this.
This is not great because he is in the wrong portion of town with no backup except to you guys. Kaluna is going to look like a startled cat just like bristling like, "Oh, fuck." Oh, God. Okay, guys, do I just surrender? No. I think it's going to be a lot easier. Literally, that doesn't make any sense for Una anyway, let alone. So right now, Jensi is pissed that they destroyed her books and she wants them back and she would probably fight for them. But I also don't want to die. Do we really have- I'm sorry, go ahead. I was going to ask if we could see how many there were out there.
Okay, I actually think I know what to do. Okay, go ahead. Well, guys, we're going to get in a fight. Just open the window. Yay! Fuck off! Fuck off my lawn! So I'm thinking that we just rush out there and unleash first a firestorm of angry intimidate/diplomacy checks and then second a firestorm of hatred and axes and fire and knives and pain. Do you say this out loud? No, because I mentioned diplomacy checks. I'm just giving everyone a quick overview. So your plan is to yell diplomatically and then unleash weapon hell? If diplomacy/intimidation fails, then yes.
Oh, no, that's fair. Okay. Does that seem like something that you guys are done with? I'll surrender if you guys want me to. I honestly will. I think Una is in an emotional state where she would do that. Jensi is going to look Una right in the eye and be like, "If I die, can you bring me back?" I will bring you back on the spot. I want my fucking book back. So sorry. Again, you say that out loud, Jensi? Uh, yeah. Sarah's gonna look over to Una like, "That's a thing you can do? That's interesting." He's gonna take note of that. Yeah, you've got a powerful daughter, bro.
Maybe you shouldn't have walked out to get those cigarettes. He's gonna start escorting people away from the windows. He's gonna make note of that. It's like, "Get away from the openings now." Almost flippantly. Come, children, come. Come, come, my lady. So do we want to rush out there or do we want to let them come in? I don't think- See, here's the thing. If they come in, they have to fit through a door. Mm-hmm. So two at once? Yeah. Whereas if we go out, they can surround us. Thing is, they could surround us now and we'd be stuck in a house. With people coming in through the front and back.
They can come in through the windows and shit like that. Yeah, through the walls. Did we ever get a sense of how many are outside? I'm sorry, I can't remember. Yeah, two. Can Merrick do the back against the wall and then sort of look through the window real quick kind of a thing? Just get a sense. Do me a favor. Yeah. Do me a favor, roll a stealth check. Okay, should be good. 19. 19. Okay, so do me a favor, roll a perception check. 20. Merrick is going to, again, back against the wall, kind of slide, like he's going to side-eye the street from, yeah, from the window.
He's going to notice a couple of things. One, he is going to notice Julie. Standing just right out in the middle of the street. It also appears as though she brought at least 20 pounds. Um. You are also going to see pedestrians run to the nearest building, close their doors and windows, and get out of the way. Okay. Um, Merrick's going to just look at everybody and say, "We've got Amara." Um, oh yes, this is going to be great. Okay. Um, I'm going to, Una's going to look over at Seraph and say, "Saraph, if you can get out of here, you might want to do that.
If you have people you can summon, you might want to do that." And then she's going to like look over at, um, the other side of the wall and say, "I'm going to summon you." And then she's going to look over at the group and just say, "Okay, I'll go out there, I'll talk. If things go badly, I'll blow the horn, and we'll get ready to fight." Una, if you're going to go out and stall, maybe we can find a way to get Seraph out the back or something like that so he can get to his people? I don't know if we're surrounded, but is it worth a try? Okay, yeah, do that.
Do that. I'll stall. If you guys get into trouble, just retreat back here. Um, Seraph's going to speak up. There's really no sense in going to the back door. Do you really think they aren't covering that? Do you think there's more than 20? Like, we saw 20 up front. Do you think they're double up back? I mean, are we that outnumbered? He's going to, uh, he's going to kind of cock an eyebrow, like, "Wow, you do not know what's going on. In the past two days, over a hundred paladins have made their way to Estrhalt." Oh, god, this is actually really exciting. Seraph is going to kind of, you know, move toward the window.
And he is going to, he's going to peer out. And he's not looking at the paladins, and he's not looking at Julie. He's looking across the street, sort of staring off into the distance. And he is going to duck back down, turn to the party, and sort of give this wry smile. And he's kind of a dress-una, but loud enough for the party to hear. "If things go poorly, I may have another plan." Do you want to tell us that now? I was thinking of murdering a lot of them. Sounds good. I was going to say, like, wait, wait. Most of these kids are just as deluded as I once was.
If you can, if it comes to a fight, try and just pacify them. Don't slit a throat when you could slit an ankle, you know? Um, he's going to look almost disappointed. Julie, you can kill. Oh, and then he's going to smile at you. Is that adorable? I really like Sarah. I'm glad we're not kidding. I know, me too. He's the best. Una's going to run to the kitchen, and really quick, she's going to rinse the dye out of her hair. Because now she wants to be as recognizable as possible. Um, she just whispered to herself, like, "aesthetic." She's washing it out. Dude, if she's going to die, she wants to die hot.
I'm sure we have time for this. It'll take like 30 seconds to just douse your hair in water. Someone pokes out the door, like, "hold on, she's coming." Excuse me, just give me a sec, I'm just changing. Sorry, I can't go out with you tonight. I have to wash my hair. Is that good for us? A one is not good for you. Wait, what? Shouldn't we be rolling it? Yeah, if it's for us, we should roll it. Um, no, because this is, you'll see in a second. Is the water fire? No, Jitten. Just comes out screaming. No, that's how many people are in Sarasar, I'm sure. We should have rolled that one.
Oh god, what if it's the dragons? It's not for you. Who's the dragons? You'd have us roll it. A dragon just sits at our house and kills us all? Like, what, guys, was I supposed to land like five feet over? Oh my god, I'm sorry. No, he doesn't even land. It's just a Monty Python, like the foots of... So Julie's gonna shout from the street. You know, seconds are gonna go by, seconds are gonna go by from their perspective. Nothing is happening. Julie is going to have the first wave of paladins fire their crossbows into the building. So after, after about a minute of nothing, nothing happening on the outside, about fifteen crossbow bolts are going to shatter through the, well, the one window had been, you know, There'd been panes of it broken out before.
But arrows are going to come streaming into the house. Are they boarded up? No, the doors were. I thought you said the windows were boarded up. No, just doors. Just doors. So that is, it's not going to hit anybody inside, but it is kind of gonna rain glass on Nameric a little bit and Seraph. And he's gonna visibly, you know, just duck down, just like, "Okay, let's just wait this out. This is more, this is obviously a warning." Okay. "Don't make us wait much fucking longer." Okay. Una will stride out. Valus is gonna put a hand on her shoulder. And just to give her pause for one second, and he's gonna make it clear that he's gonna go with you.
Chauncey is gonna kind of look a little bit surprised at that and then step next to Valus and then, "If you're going, then I'm going." He's, yeah, he figured you'd do that. He's just, he's gonna turn around and, "Just stay down." Look, Valus, as much as I like the sentiment, I'd like it more if you stay with her. He's gonna look out onto the street of fucking Valus. You do realize you're probably not going to come back. Please, this is a training exercise when I was at the temple. She's like obviously bluffing, like obviously like, "Oh please, I can handle this." And it's like, "Oh please, I'm gonna fucking die." But like, she's like- Do you even think they're going to let you speak?
We'll see. Honestly, Julie is not as pragmatic as you think she is. I think she'll let me speak. Plus I'm tough. And she's gonna like bang on her chest. So the armor kind of like rattles. I'll be fine. And if I'm not fine, I'll come back here and we will kick the living shit out of them. Valus is gonna straighten up a bit. Put a hand on Una's shoulder. Then I wish you luck. You're just gonna like grin, like kind of like that like, "Haha, it's okay guys." Like, kind of grin and just like, "You too, bear trap." And then just try it out the door. This street is deserted.
Except for the paladin standing in the middle of it. You don't see another living soul out and about. Everyone is cleared up. People running carts or stands, selling fruit, selling goods and wares, gone. Everyone has disappeared. I just realized we just recreated a scene from Toon Stone by accident. You have to put in like the "Doo doo doo doo" music. Fucking tumbleweed good-bye shit. Awesome. What happens in Toon Stone? I actually haven't seen that. Who wins? The good guys eventually. Are the good guys the ones surrounding it? A lot of people die. Well there's a shootout at the OK Corral.
And the good guys are the ones inside? Well there's a group called the Cowboys. The Cowboys were parked in the middle of the street and the good guys are all deputized and they go find them to get them to surrender their guns. So technically Julie would be the good guys in this scenario. But let's ignore that. You would be the Cowboys. Just ignore that. That sounds cool. This is a bad metaphor. They win for a while. Perfect. And they all die horribly. Great. So, Oona's going to stride out there and not pay attention to the fact that there's obvious tension. Like not even give any sort of sign that she's perturbed by that whatsoever.
Everyone, every one of these paladins is going to raise a weapon. A lot of them have crossbows and they're going to level their crossbows at Oona. Julie is going to hold her hand up. Hold your fire. Oona's just going to grin. Just like, just really amused. Crossbows? I mean, honestly, could you get a more cowardly weapon? You're paladins of cord, aren't you? Julie is going to step forward. Always start with an insult. Julie is going to step forward. Put down your weapon, Oona. She's not even holding her weapon. Yeah, but she wants... Drop it on the ground. As in, yes.
Oona is just going to ignore that and just like, "Is this really all of you? Really?" And then she's going to take the horn and blow it, like summoning. As if she's calling for more paladins, but actually calling for the dragon. And just say, "Come on! Come out! You all heard me! Come out! Come out of the shadows!" So this horn is going to blast and it's going to echo through these empty streets. And here come the other dragons. Shh, we don't know about that. Do me a favor, roll a flat d20 for me. So this is going to ring out and then nothing's going to happen.
If you're done making a show. Can we take you into custody now? And then she's going to grip the handle of her longsword. Can I do a perception check to see if my name is still carved into her armor/sword? Please do. This is not my sword that belongs to me. My name's on it. Perception. Now my rolls are awesome. Could have used that one second ago. Julie's wearing this cloak that's covering up the bulk of her upper body. And it's this bright red cloak. Like it is an attention getter. And she's gripping the hilt of her longsword here. So it's really tough to make that out.
But it looks to be the same armor that she was wearing before. Okay. Good to know. Oona's just going to smile and just kind of stretch like, "Mmm, okay, let's talk." And say, "No, I'm not going to surrender because I have the right to my own beliefs. I have the right to loot. I confiscated by killing a dragon. I have the right to be on private fucking property. And you don't have the right to destroy that because you're pissed at me for not believing what you believe." I'm going to roll diplomacy. Okay. She's going to step forward. And again, at this point, she has broken away from this little regiment of paladins.
Yes, come closer. And there's about a six-foot gap between Julie and Oona. If you're talking about the house, that belongs to us now. It's become very apparent that the mayor here no longer has any control. There was no order until I made order. You are breaking the law. Oh, yes. Okay. Oh, God, this is so good. Okay. Oona's just going to look around at the paladins and just drag her eyes over Julie in the most drisive, fucking, disdainful way it is possible for your human to do that. And just say, "Order? Since when does Kord care about order and control?" You saw an opportunity, and you took it because you want power.
You are greedy for power. This isn't about religion. This isn't about Kord. This isn't about me not believing. This isn't about me defying you and you not liking that. Oh, my God. I don't think I've ever been this close to somebody that shitty and cowardly. And this is more for diplomacy of the other paladins than of Julie at this point, because I don't think she would buy that anymore. Almost a crit. You are going to hear, ever so softly, a bit of murmuring going on behind Julie. Yes, the suspicious murmuring. Julie is going to officially draw her longsword, and it's going to ring out in this empty street.
Oh, God, yes. So excited. And she is going to step closer to Oona. You know, I was really hoping that you would come back. She's lowering her voice now. Because I knew that you were too stupid to simply let well enough alone. Take the warning that was given and walk away. That's why Craig trusted you. You know, he knew that you were just stupid enough to follow orders. All of the time. You were his little wrecking ball. He would point at something and you would hit it. That's all you were to him. And again, very close. You meant nothing. Oona is just kind of like, I think if her friends saw her, they would notice that she is not happy.
But she's just super contained. Just staring at Julie, not holding a weapon, just very calm, and just very ice cold. And then she's going to kind of smile just a tiny little bit. "Honey, I'm pretty stupid. But I'm not stupid enough to believe that bullshit." And then she's going to draw Quartz Fury and just say, "You and me, bitch. Single combat. Regain your fucking honor." And diplomacy check for the other paladins. I don't think she's... she's not on the board anymore. 24. Okay, not too bad. Again, there is some murmuring coming from behind Julie. And she's not going to turn her head, but you can see her eyes glance back toward like she's kind of doing that side eye thing where she can hear them talking.
Is she pausing? Yes! Okay. In that pause, Oona's going to be like, "Where's your nerve, Julie?" Like loud, loud enough for all the paladins to hear. "You're facing down the one you called out. This is your chance. Why are you being a coward as an example to these young women and men? Where is your courage?" She is going to narrow her eyes at Oona. And then she's going to take one hand off of the hilt of her longsword and unsnap the cloak that is draped around her neck and let it fall to the ground behind her. And then she's going to point to where your name is carved into her breastplate.
"I am going to take great pleasure in making you pay for this. Let's go." Okay, roll initiative, Oona. Doopid doo. Julie rolls a 24. Is that working now? Okay. Either way, like you're still second. Yeah, that's fine. I'll give her the first blow. I don't care. I'll die. That's fine. It's okay, guys. I got this. Thank God I have that lay on hands thing. Julie is going to twirl her longsword and race toward Oona to close this very small gap that is between them. And she is going to try to use thunderous smite. Yeah, that'll hit me. That's so many dice, Jason! 31. Is that a daily?
That is her opening gambit. Okay, I was going to pick. Excuse me, Jason? Relax, Martyr's Retribution. Okay, yeah. But still. Don't use that until you call American. No, yeah. I'm saving that one. God damn it, I have to get my... Now, my rolls are notoriously crap. But I'm going to use debilitating smite on her. So let's try that. Please. Did I hit? Yeah, that'll... Okay, cool. So can I do the thing now? Yes. 17 damage. And then she's slowed and dazed. And if she tries to attack me next time, then she's dazed, I think, for the rest of the encounter. Roll a Perception check for me, please.
The party. Okay. 22. 28. 24. Let's have Vallas roll. For giggles. Ah! Oh, 25. Okay. Well, alright. This sounds genuine surprise. What?! You have to say it, Jason. You saw a thing. Almost agree. Everyone, except Jadzia, is going to notice... ...that Seraph is going to hold out his arm. And what it looks like is him giving a signal in the window. And then seconds later, from behind the paladins, many cloaked figures are going to start to descend from the rooftops and alleyways. And they are going to start to skulk toward these paladins, who are all transfixed by the spectacle that is happening right now.
That's beautiful. And the backline of these paladins are going to be attacked from the rear by these cloaked figures. From what you're seeing, it looks like about 13 or 14 of them. And they are going to start to wrench and stab and slice at the backs of these paladins. A couple of them were lucky enough to just absolutely gore them in the throat. God damn it, Seraph! And the backline of these paladins are... ...two of them are going to fall right off the bat and the rest of them are going to start engaging with these cloaked figures. The front line is going to figure out what's going on and there is going to be a massive scuffle in the middle of the streets here.
Julie is going to turn around and notice this and sort of be torn at whether she should go back and help her allies or finish this with Una. Because her pride is fucking with her. And she is going to turn to Una. "I didn't think you could give me a fair fight." Una is just going to grin and be like, "You're the one who brought 20 paladins, bitch!" She is going to swing again against Una with a holy strike. That is going to miss. She is going to whiff, "You attack us from the shadows! You are the coward here!" Una is just going to belly laugh, just like huge laughter, and say, "That doesn't fucking matter to me anymore!" And then she is going to...
I wonder if I should use some art distribution. I kind of do. If I call for Marek, can he jump in right before? He has to roll initiative. Well, how would the party be? So I'll ask at the end of this round, actually. Okay. Una will just yell towards the door, "Marek! Lend me your strength, brother!" Okay, how do I do this? What do I do? What am I doing? Is the party jumping in? That's the question. What do we think? I don't think they are going to ignore us if we just don't participate. They are still going to assume it's us, so they are going to attack us. Don't help me with Julie.
Let me finish her off. Except help me with Julie, because I do want the crit, right? Yes. But don't visibly attack her. You just want strength. You're not asking for a crit as Una. You're just asking for, you know... Yeah, just moral support. For some reason I just feel stronger when Marek is around. Yeah, I mean, it makes sense. Occasionally I just get harder when he's around for some reason. I don't know why. It's really weird. Yeah, this is an active assist. Yep. Okay. So imagine this is taking place. Okay, the paladins get jumped from behind. That's all going on.
And Julie and Una are having this thing, but they're still swinging at each other. So I would give you, on Una's turn, yelling back at Marek. Marek would rush, as would everybody else, probably after him. But it would be clear Marek was trying to get in there. Okay. Yes, totally. And you did just ask for help from Marek. Yeah, Marek. Yeah, but you know, you're not the boss of your dad. I'm going to kick his ass. Seraph... Okay. Seraph is right behind Valus in all this. And Seraph is going to disappear into a black cloud of smoke. Badass. And kind of poof a short distance away right behind Julie.
And he's going to use something called Violent Outburst. I don't like it. Una power. Well, there may be a bit of fucking Seraph in Una. Maybe. 25 versus... Thank god. 25 versus Julie's AC. That is going to miss. He's going to teleport and try to drive his dagger into... Just behind Julie. So right into her ribcage. Try and plunge it into her side. Her armor is going to catch that and deflect it enough that that won't get into her skin. And Seraph is going to make eye contact with Una. Oh, sorry. If she makes eye contact with Seraph, she's going to say, "Leave this to me!" He's going to give a smile.
And as part of Violent Outburst, he gets to do that a second time. He is going to port away and blink another short distance away and try that on a paladin instead of Julie. I love my dad. And Violent Outburst. That's a 40. That will... 26 damage to one of the paladins and he will slit his throat. Damn it, Seraph! Restraint, not his strong suit. No. Again, maybe we're... So, Julie... Okay, so we're saying that... Let's say... Okay, Kaluna, go ahead. Okay. So... We are fighting paladins, right? I'm really confused now. Well, right now, the paladins are engaged in combat with Seraph's men.
Maric, your turn. Okay, I'm just going to do a quick move up here just to make sure I'm in the right places for stuff. Let's say about there. And that should give me plenty of space to do Prophecy of Doom, which is going to give Una a crit. I love you. So, there's nothing I need to do for that. It doesn't cause any damage myself. But it does mean that, just for the record, me or an ally who hits can make a crit. So, Una, you can take it. Oh, so you have to hit first. Me or an ally who hits can make a crit. Yeah, that's the thing. You hit and you can make anything a crit.
Right, but it's not just an automatic crit. She has to hit Julie first. God damn it. That's a very important caveat with Una. So far it's worked out. So far, every time you've used it, it's been because of a hit. Yeah. You've just ruined it. Just that. No, it's just, well, it's happened every time so far. So, I'm just assuming that forever you'll always hit whenever you're around Maric. But at the same time... Alright, Una, your turn. Okay, and... This is going to suck. We don't know that yet. Where's attribution? That will hit. God bless the world. Okay. 87 damage is what we're looking for.
Yes. That will down you. Okay. Can I roll a crit die for funsies? Yeah. I don't want to kill her. You may flat out... I was going to say, you may flat out murder. No, yeah, I'm trying to... You have to do it anyway, because you did crit damage. Yeah, yeah. What's the crit thing? Okay, so you didn't kill her outright, but you knocked her clean. Okay, that's what I wanted to do. I didn't want to kill her outright. Okay. Everyone do me a favor, roll perception. I'm good at that thing. Not today, I'm not. You're pretty bad all day. 24. 19. Everyone's going to see this.
Even Valus. There's going to be a large shadow cast over the battlefield. And it's going to cause everyone to look up. Even just momentarily. And... Amara has arrived at the battlefield. Seconds later, you're going to hear some noises. It's the goats she ate, they're just alive in her belly. Come on, give it all you got. It is going to sound like several tiny roars. I fucking called it. Adorable roars? Off in the distance. No, these are... They sound like dragons. Not of an Amara or Strahd caliber, but... They sound... it sounds like there are many of them. And then moments later, you're going to see...
Let me see, who got what? Let's see. Everyone except Kaluna. Wait, what? That's new. I know, I've rolled bad today. Everyone is going to see several red dragons. Start to swoop around and attack Amara in the sky. That's hardcore. No! Fucking called it! Everything I touched dies. Except Valus. Well... There are... There are at least seven of them attacking Amara. These things, while not nearly as large as her, they are swarming her and attacking in pairs at least two at a time. Sometimes three at a time. And they appear to want to bring her down. A couple of them have decided that it would be their best bet to just open fire on her, quite literally.
And one of them is going to run up her back with this strafing shot and just breathe fire up and down her back. Two more dragons are going to appear and they are going to perch themselves on rooftops nearby and just land within the city. And they are going to look down at the smorgasbord of people. What would you like to do? Um... Am I... I have a question. About distance. Do you feel like... Would Amara be within range ten of where I am now? And if everybody is okay, I'm going to try to wait until she's within range and I'm going to blink her out of existence.
If nothing else, then to just confuse the hell out of the red dragons and... Plus you'll look really badass when you make a whole dragon disappear. Right. I mean if that's some... They're at least going to collide in the air a little bit. Yeah. Is there anything I need to know that's... Oh yeah. Any stuff beyond just do this? Well, there is normally a medium to large target would not be a problem for Merrick to dismiss. Merrick has never tried to dismiss anything as big as Amara. Hope you don't dismiss like half of her. You don't know what this is going to do to her or you.
It's worth it though, right? You guys? I'll bring you back if you die. You promise? Yeah, dude. What about your hair? I'll bring it back still. That'll forgive you. I thought it was my job to bring Merrick back. Who? You know what? You know what? I'll let you guys... God damn. You guys can figure that out and I don't really... Well you can take Merrick and she can bring Amara back. It'll be fine. It'll be great. Bring him back a dragon? Oh fuck. Hope he doesn't get bad ass as hell. Anyway, let's not kill it first of all, but you know, if it happens. So Merrick is going to try to dismiss Amara.
Yep. Okay. Merrick is going to look to the sky and raise his hand. And with a great deal of concentration, that will strike Amara's will. Amara doesn't disappear as quickly as Una did. Una disappeared in a blink. It would appear as though Amara is disappearing in sections almost. So tail, wings, abdomen, head. You know, just slowly. It's sort of a rolling blackout. Sort of a black fog that... It almost looks like it's eating her. Cute. And Amara is going to disappear. There is an intense pain that's going to strike Merrick. And he is going to double over and fall to the ground.
And let's do something here. 19 damage. So he's going to take 19 damage from that. That's not bad. These dragons are going to collide into each other. And accidentally do a little bit of damage to each other. And then once they see that the dragon is no longer there, they are going to turn their attention back toward the city. Cluster! Some of them are circling overhead like vultures. Some of them are just going to swoop into different sections of the city. One of them is just going to open fire into what would be, or would have been now, the shopping district.
And... pretty much eradicate it. Oh, God. It sucks to be them, right guys? Why couldn't it have been the orphans? God, it could have been the orphans. We haven't been good to this town. What would you guys like to do here? Leave? Well, fuck this. Let's go. I feel like we're not going to do very well if we try and fight seven dragons. Mm-hmm. So how about we cluster and get the fuck out of here? Hang on, hang on. So, the situation with Amara, however, is that she's going to be reappearing in the same place. Oh, you can't just make her reappear somewhere? Nope. She's going to reappear in exactly the same place.
The only distinction now is... it'll happen when she saves. In order to bring blood. Right. I'll take care of that. Don't you worry about that. No, no, I'm just saying that's... The dragons did move on, though, so it's not like they're waiting for her to come back. Sure, I'm just saying it could be an indeterminate amount of time. It could be three days, it could be three minutes, and that's fine, but it could happen. So, maybe find shelter until she comes back? And she's big, like we might be able to hear her when she does come back. Yeah, I don't think there's anything we can do for her, specifically just by chilling in the open where we're going to be eating.
No, no, I want to get shelter. I just don't want to leave the whole area. I mean, I feel like she's our responsibility. So, let's just go down to the basement. Something. We've got to find a way to make a plan. Do we want to grab Julie? Who is carrying Julie? Social taker. Cool, alright. I want to check if you're carrying her. Yeah, she's still carrying her. Alright. Is the place where we had Cecil down in the basement still hooked up? Awesome. I don't know why. Is the peace bucket still there? Yeah, of course it is. So, you guys are retreating into the house. Yeah, I think that's probably where we're going.
So, I think that's a pretty good time for us to stop for the night. Guys, we fucked Esterholt so hard. Yeah. Yeah, I knew that was going to happen the second we brought the dragon in. Nice of them to wait until they were completely useless, that was good. I knew that was going to happen the second we promised Marikeller episodes and episodes ago. That we would protect Esterholt and make it a nice place. I mean, sometimes to build something back up you have to destroy it first. It's like making omelettes. I mean, you know, you got to burn down the forest to make room for new life.
Technically, some Redwood trees, their seeds only open after they've been burned. I think it's true. It isn't true, not the nerd part. No, she's not. Yeah, it's fine, it's fine. It's 1am and we just wrapped up a game of Dungeons & Dragons. Sorry. Yeah, again, sorry it's so late. I know Jasper and I have kids. Once they go down, that's great. Hi everybody, Cat Charlie here. Just a quick little thing to say that that was, unfortunately, my last session that I will be doing with Dungeons & Randomness. I've been on the show for just over a year now and I have loved every single moment of every single session.
And I hope that you have enjoyed listening to Fee as much as I have enjoyed playing him. While I will not be in the show, I do hope to be active in the community and I will be on the forums. My new forum handle will be Cat Charlie. I look forward to listening to all of the future episodes and discussing them with you on the forums. Best of luck to the podcast and all of the members of the cast. And see you on the forums. Bye bye.
