Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason. I'm the Dungeon Master going around the table starting with Laurent. Hi, I'm Laurent, and I play Cole Dualfang, a long-toothed shifter druid.

And Lisa. Hey, I'm Lisa, and I play Elorath Beestinger, the halfling barbarian. And Kira. I'm Kira. I play Ingrid Pike, a gnome sorcerer. And Karen. Hi, I'm Karen. I play Jisveen, a human war priest. And Valerie. Hi, I'm Valerie. I play Sora Greywing, the halfling ranger. Guys, last time you managed to save two children from the town of Lockford. They were being attacked by werewolves. And you managed to sneak across the street, Sora did with the help of Ingrid and Jisveen, managed to get them back, barricade yourselves back in the house, get them upstairs before the werewolves could break down the door through the window.

You managed to get yourselves back in the attic just as they came into the house forcefully. And that is pretty much exactly where we're going to pick up right now. So Ingrid and Jisveen have re-entered the attic. And I believe you guys said that you slammed the door, the little hatch leading into the space. I want everyone to do me a favor and roll a perception check. Oh, what? Sora, check that out. I never perceived anything. Oh, snap. Look at that. I feel so bad for Kira all the time when I'm asking you a perception check. I really don't. I never perceive anything.

But I mean, it's bad enough you have a plus one, but you always roll like a one, two, or three or something. Like it's-- Yep, it's like an average perception roll for me is like a five. Ingrid has her eyes squeezed very tightly. Probably out of panic, let's say. I don't know. Everyone else in the party is going to hear these wolves circling beneath you. And every single person here except for Ingrid is going to get the impression that you have maybe a second or two before they race up the side of the wall and attack this hatch. What would you like to do?

Jason, does mine and Sora's perception check allow us to see anything else that we could barricade ourselves in with? Well, I think everybody at this point, you've spent enough time in this attic that you would have a pretty good read on what's in the room. I think a lot of you have rifled through stuff. And there are a couple of heavier chests and boxes and things like that. It would take a few seconds to get them over there. In the meantime, nothing but that little box that even Sora, with some effort, could lift is sitting on this hatch. So it's up to you what you guys want to do.

Move whatever is heaviest over. Colt, you and I could tag team like one person could hold the hatch while the other person runs and gets stuff. Good idea. So we have somebody strongly trying to barricade the door. Stop trying to hide your accent. No. It's adorable stuff. You can barricade the door. I'll find something. I'll gather shit to put on it. All right, so Elarath's going to hold the hatch down? She's going to try. Can I help? You absolutely can. OK. So Elarath's going to roll an athletics check. Sora, you're going to go ahead and assist. Can any of the rest of us assist?

Yeah, you can jump on it really quickly. I will try and assist. Oh, I failed. Never mind. OK, so that's a 19 so far. Jo, are you going to get in on this or help move stuff? No, Jo's actually going to go over to the older of the girls and check out her ankle. So the scene pretty much is that these two girls just got up the hatch and then Sora, Ingrid, and Josephine followed in tow. Sora, Elarath, and Ingrid are going to fall down onto this hatch and try to keep it shut, while Cole is going to start pulling and tugging on objects in the room, the heavier objects in the room, to get it onto this hatch and weigh it down.

About a second and a half after the hatch is slammed shut and the three of you fall on it, one of these wolves is going to race up the side of this wall. And you're going to hear it dig in to the side here and into that wood and race up the wall and charge into this hatch. And let's see how well this wolf does. Oh my god. Oh my god. What the fuck? This hatch is being held on by two hinges. And one of them in the back is going to break instantly. The second this wolf hits it, you're guessing with either its head or shoulder or something. But a lot of its body weight just rammed vertically into this.

The three of you are going to bounce up and then start to push down again. The hatch itself is going to start to split down the center. You can hear the wood crack. Another hit like this and you guys are in some serious, serious trouble. But the three of you are going to push back down. And you can hear this wolf try to regain its leverage. And it's just growling and snarling beneath you. It's very, very clear for an instant as this hatch raises up. You can hear it. It's essentially in the room with you. And then a split second later, you guys push down and you manage to keep it out and the sound is muffled again.

Do me a favor, Cole, roll an athletics check. Joe, do me a favor, roll a heel check. OK. Let me do the good news before the bad. The good news is Josephine is going to tend to the older girl's ankle. And she will still be sore, but she will no longer have a limp, thankfully. So if you guys were to get in a situation where you could make a run for it, she would no longer be hampered by that. The bad news is that Cole just rolled a 12. And he is going to try and lift this chest on the other side of the room. And the only thing he's going to be able to do is start to cumbersomely drag it.

And the rest of the party is going to hear this heavy chest dig into the floorboards of this attic as Cole slowly drags it across the room. Soara Ingrid, do me a favor, roll a flat d20. OK. You both are going to assist this time. That is going to be a plus four to Elrath's roll. Elrath, do me a favor, roll an athletics check. All right. Here we go. Yay. Oh, fuck off. 21. 21. Let's see what the wolf rolls. Suck, suck, suck, wolf. Oh. That is not going to suck. No. It's worse than last time, though. It is worse than last time. The wolf is going to charge again beneath you.

This time, the hatch is going to, again, bounce up. Nothing is going to break. But you are going to hear this wood. You're going to hear bits of it fall away on the other side. You're guessing it's using some of its muscle and claws. You're going to guess that if this were to happen a third time, it's going to be in the room with you. Cole, do me a favor, roll an athletics check. 20. After precious seconds, Cole is going to get that chest over to the group and the hatch. And with some effort, he's going to start to lift it. It will cover most of the hatch.

And you're guessing that it's going to supply some much needed weight and stability to this door. Now, I'm going to ask you guys a question. Are you forcing down on the chest, or are you relying on the chest to pretty much hold it down? We should also force down on the chest. Yeah. Yeah. OK. Cole? Yes. Ingrid, Sora. Josephine, you getting in on this? Yeah. Sorry. Anyone trained in athletics add a plus 2, but otherwise roll a flat D20. Oh. Athletics. Sorry. I just rolled a flat D20. I do have athletics. Doesn't matter. Doesn't fucking matter. You're killing me, Smalls. [LAUGHTER] Was it a negative 4?

Alarath, please roll an athletics check with a negative 4. Oh, god. Come on. Oh, my god. It's still better than before. So it would be a 23 total. 23 total. We're also going to add a plus, thanks to this chest. Again, it's even more muffled than before, because you're stacking things on top of this hatch. You're going to hear this wolf take another running start. And this time, it's going to slam dead. Just a dead stop, just like it ran into a wall. You're going to see the chest bounce just an inch or two. But other than that, this hatch appears to be holding steady for the moment.

Everyone do me a favor, roll a perception check. Where's the other one? I want to throw these dice out of a fucking window. A total 20. 31's not bad. You rolled an almost a crit. I know. I should have rolled an almost a crit earlier. When it would have been extra useful. Yes. Oh, hey. I don't have the lowest perception. Hell yeah. Nah. Yeah, no, not this time. Cole, Elorath, Josephine, Ingrid. There's going to be a moment of silence after the werewolf hits the hatch and doesn't get inside, and actually makes less headway than it did before. And then you're going to hear the two figures beneath you circle the hatch and then sprint outside.

People? Yeah, somebody with perception check or people. I'm on it. In the street below, Cole is going to see the fog part as the two figures cut through it. And then you're going to see where they stop about halfway in the street. The fog stops moving. And as it starts to settle, you're going to see the larger of the two with the bright red eyes that seemed to almost glow in the dark rear up on its hind legs and stare up seemingly directly at the hole that Cole is staring out of. And then he's going to sink back down and disappear into the fog again. I leave the hole.

We need to leave. How? How are we supposed to leave? I don't-- How can we get out? I don't know. But the red-eyed fucker just caught-- just-- just-- just sought us out. You're sure he saw us? Yes. I'm positive. We need to do something or we're going to die up here. And there's no other-- there's no other op-- would you rather them make-- would you rather make it-- make it easier for them to shred us into bits by staying up here? Well, at least here we have some protection. We have the walls. We have-- Can they climb? We don't have any windows. They-- they would have to tear through the walls to get in here.

They would have to tear through the floor. How long did it take them to tear through the front door? It's not protection. No, but it's better than nothing. The oldest girl-- at this point, they have gotten far away from that hatch, as that was all going on. The oldest girl figuring the most she can do is scoop up her little sister and Shaw, strangely enough, and get them to the farthest corner of the room just to get them out of your way so that you guys can operate. They're-- they're all-- all three just going to listen to you have this conversation.

Is there anything else we could put on top of the hatch? Is there anything we can use to reinforce the walls? Do me a favor. Roll a perception check. Well, we know how that's going to go. Well-- [LAUGHTER] Yeah, I got nothing. Again, a lot of the things in this room are old clothing, things like that. It's not like there's a lot of lumber or building materials up here. And the heaviest objects in the room, you have now moved to put on top of the hatch, which has, obviously, bought you guys some time. There are no werewolves in the attic currently, so that could have just saved your life.

What is the roof made out of? Everything's made out of wood. OK. How far up is the roof? The attic's not very tall, right? It's not incredibly tall. You're about-- like total right now, you guys are about 14, 15 feet above street level. OK. Well, we could try making a hole in the roof and try to escape that way, get over to another building, one where they don't know where we are. But we have to be able to break through, and we have to be able to stealthily get all of us from here to another building. How far away is the next nearest building? Well, there's no way to really judge that from where you guys are sitting.

But if memory serves, Ingrid, she would guess that it's about 10 to 12 feet away in between houses on this side of the street. Awesome. So that's not going to go super well for those of us who are short and not athletic and can't jump easily over 12 feet. Not to mention the werewolves own the roofs. Ingrid's going to look at Cole. What is your plan? What do you think we can do from here? What are your ideas? Because from where I'm sitting, it doesn't look like we have many options. And of the options we have, it's possible that staying here is actually the best one we have.

Cole's just going to-- at this point, Cole just has his hands on his face in a very exhausted manner. And he looks over at the girls. And he looks over at Sora at the same time. And his lips are going to roll into each other in that whole type deal. But then he's going to shake it off. And he's going to go, I don't. I don't. I don't know. I don't either. I'm open to suggestions if anyone can come up with a workable plan as to how we can get out of here safely or even just safer than we currently are. Jason, can I do another perception check around the attic so that if possible, I can get as good of a scan of this attic as possible?

It'll take some time. So this would be basically you simulating just walking wall to wall in this attic and looking at everything you can get a bead on. But yeah, go ahead. Roll a perception check. 26. So while Cole is looking around this attic, it looks to be almost desperate, frantic, just looking for any way out of the corner, it seems, that you guys are painted in. What would the rest of the party like to do? Is there a back door downstairs? It appeared as though there was only a front door in. OK. Because I was thinking if they left the house, we could try to go down the stairs and sneak out the back.

But I don't think that'll work if there's no back door. And if they could be surrounding us, we could be surrounded. Do me a favor. Everyone in the room, roll a perception check for me. For anybody who got you. I'm lost in my own thoughts trying to plot something. So after a few minutes, Cole has walked wall to wall, examined every corner of this attic, trying to find a way out. Beyond the hatch that leads down, there does not appear to be a way out of this attic other than perhaps the hole that you've made that's large enough for maybe, if you widened it a little bit, people like Sora and Ingrid, may be able to squeeze through it.

The walls appear to be of decent thickness. Again, this isn't incredibly insulated. And there are cracks where sunlight was shining through during the day. So it's not even weatherproofed that much. It's essentially good enough to keep most of the elements off of you. It does leak a bit. Worst case scenario, if you were to come under some sort of full scale attack, you are guessing it would not take them an incredible amount of time to maybe get through certain areas of this attic and get inside. While Cole is doing that, Josephine, Sora, Elorath, and finally Cole are going to hear a sound.

And that's the sound of two figures tearing up the side of this house. You're going to hear one stop about halfway and the other continue until it sounds like it's just outside. What direction? The hole. Is anyone going to say anything? Give me the matches. I was going to say I could shoot some lightning down at them. It might knock them off the wall. OK, that's fine. I'm still going to look at Shaw. Give me the matches. You'll burn the house down? Shaw is going to reach for the matches and try and toss them at Cole. And he's going to get them over to-- it's going to just fall shy of Cole, but it's going to land at his feet.

OK. I'm going to grab them and I'm going to look at Ingrid. Do it. OK. So Ingrid is going to go to the hole. She is going to look out just enough to aim. And she is going to try and hit whatever she can with lightning strike. Do me a favor. Aim at the alpha. OK. Just as she's taking aim, she's going to see the beady red eyes of this wolf peer inside just before it starts to stick its muzzle into the hole. Go ahead. Target the wolf. That is going to miss. Damn it. So Ingrid is going to hear-- but the entire party is going to hear this lightning strike just outside.

But let's do a fun thing. Fun for you, Saber. Fun for-- OK. It is going to miss the house, thankfully. Oh my god. And it's going to strike the street below. But everyone's going to hear that momentary rolling thunder. And then the wolf is going to jam its face into that hole. And its muzzle is just going to be on the inside. Its head is so big that only a portion of it is going to get into the actual room. And it's going to snap and bite for just a second. And realizing how futile that is, it's not going to get through. It's going to stick one of its clawed talons on the inside and start to rake at the wall.

What would you guys like to do? I'm going to grab the nearest article of clothing. And I'm going to light it on fire and throw it near the hole. What? I'm going to set the plate on fire. This is pretty much going to be one of these-- like an old shirt, something like that, like an old ratty shirt. It's going to go up fairly, fairly quickly. So a few seconds after the werewolf starts to tear, let's say while the lightning strike misses and everything cold as lighting this. Do me a favor. Roll an athletics check to toss this shirt, this flaming shirt, at the wall. 13.

So this shirt is going to ball up a bit. And the air of the room is going to kind of catch it. Like, it's not going to travel as a dense ball so much as this fluttery piece of fabric that's on fire. And it is going to land near this hole. And the werewolf is going to continually reach and strike out. Let's see how this goes. 18. OK. So that fire isn't going to be enough to flat out burn the werewolf. But it is a deterrent. It is a momentary, like, what the shit is that? Why is there fire? So it is going to retract its hand for just a moment. And then everyone do me a favor.

Roll perception. Where the fuck was this 19? Hey, Sora, check that out. Sora, Cole, Elorath. 19. Through the flames, they're going to see that this wolf has righted itself, still clinging to the side of the house. And it's going to twist its head so that one of its bright red eyes are peering into this attic. The werewolf is going to reach one of its paws inside again and wrap it around the top of this hole. And it is going to jerk back and break a piece of the wall away. This appears to be about a one and a half foot section. And it's going to split the wood a bit and rip one of the boards of this house away.

At that point, the oldest girl is going to grab Shaw's sword and run toward this hole. Oh, fuck yeah. Love her. I love her. Thank you. Oh my god. Doing just-- She's currently doing more than the rest of us. Honey, you tried. Baby, you have a plus 10. You go, honey. It's OK because you're pretty. I have a magnificent rack. I'll just keep telling myself that. OK. She's going to thrust this sword into the hole and just narrowly miss the wolf. The wolf is going to lash out with one of its talons and make a grab for this girl and just narrowly miss. Sor wants to try and shoot it with an arrow?

Yeah. That is going to just miss the wolf. You're going to hear a thud as the arrow seems to strike the wolf. But it's either a glancing blow or does not penetrate his hide. And the arrow is going to flick away harmlessly. The wolf is then going to reach in one more time and grab at the wall. I want to smack it. It is going to break another piece of the wall away. And this hole is almost large enough for a good portion of this wolf to fit through at this point. OK, well then she's going to try a devastating strike. Oh my god. That is going to miss the wolf.

I'm lighting another match. And I'm lighting another shard and throwing it. At this point, the first claw will have pretty much burned out. Just sort of harmless in line by this hole. Now the hole is much larger thanks to the wolf. Elorath is going to swing and miss and just hit the wall. It's not going to do a lot of damage. But yeah, it is going to miss the wolf. The oldest girl is going to step back and take a very wide swing at this wolf. Everyone do me a favor roll perception. Everyone but Ingrid is going to witness this and realize that this girl has had some measure of training with a sword.

And let's see if she is any luckier. That is going to hit the wolf. This sword is going to slash just across the bridge of the wolf's snout. And it is going to reflexively jerk back away from the hole and is just sort of hanging there against the wall. It's shaking its head back and forth aggressively. And you can see where a trickle of blood started to run down its face. I was going to say, is the sword by chance silver? No, it's the sword that's-- Damn it. --hole-handed. Yeah, it's just a sword. Thought I'd try. Oh, we can see how much damage it did, though. 13 damage.

Not bad. No. Does it knock him off the wall? It doesn't knock him off the wall. It does push him back, though. It's buying you precious seconds, it appears. It is sort of reflexively just like hanging away from the-- it's sort of hanging there by one hand and just shaking its head back and forth to get its bearings again. It's going to stop shaking its head and angrily peer into this attic. And it is going to thrust forward and stick its upper half into the room. Its head and shoulders are going to start to clear this hole. It's a squeeze, but it is large enough for the upper portion of this werewolf to actually make it in.

And the two paws that are inside are raking at the ground, trying to get some leverage, trying to get some grip, so it can squeeze in the rest of the way. Cole? Yeah, savage frenzy. OK, do it. What? Are you fucking kidding me? That is going to miss the wolf. Let's see what the wolf can do to wriggle inside. 23. You can all hear the wolf's back legs scrambling against the side of the house, digging in, trying to get some kind of leverage going. You can tell that in its hurry to get inside, it probably should have made this hole a little larger. But you're offering so much fight that it just wanted to get indoors.

So this wolf, while inching in, can't quite clear its back. It is still stuck into the hole. In fact, you can see where the jagged edges that the wolf made with the hole-- the wood is actually digging into its sides, like near its ribs. The only thing that you have in its favor is that it can't quite attack you because it's using all of its strength and appendages to claw its way inside. So just essentially picture one half of a shark sticking out of a tank, just flailing and biting and snapping. And it's completely ineffectual. But if it were to finish getting inside, I mean, it's probably going to murder you all.

Yeah. Probably. But it's possible it won't. Yeah. Possible it won't. The stuff in the attic that was too light to barricade the door with, like boxes and shit, they're nearby, right? Mm-hmm. I'm going to light a match and throw it near the box. And then I'm going to head toward the barricade and start undoing everything. OK. Cole is essentially setting fire to the room that you are currently in, which is the most desperate of desperate. This older girl is going to whip around and witness what Cole is doing. And yell across the room, are you insane? Oh my god, I love her.

When she does, he's going to whip around. He's going to whip around back and go, if you want to live, then help me get this stuff off the door. She's going to try and stop. She's going to stop trying to stab at this wolf and race over and help Cole. She's going to go help him clear off that hatch. OK. Because she doesn't want to die by fire or a werewolf. Or at all. Do me a favor, Cole, roll an athletics check. And this oldest girl is going to help. And Josephine, I think you're trained in athletics, aren't you? No? OK, never mind. Just roll a fly to each one.

You're adorable. Trained in athletics. You are going to get a plus one. Holy shit, Cole. Desperation works. It does. Let's say adrenaline. Dice, I take back everything I said about you. Can he rip that chest off the door and hit the wolf with-- He did get a crit. I did get a crit. Well, it doesn't turn him into the Hulk. It just-- OK, what are you trying to do with the wolf? But I'm just as angry. Well, what do you want to try to do with the chest? And I'll tell you what's possible. Well, I'll try and toss it in the direction of the werewolf. OK, Cole is going to lift this chest off of the hatch.

And he is going to toss it toward the direction of this amalgamation of teeth and claws. And it's going to travel about 4 and 1/2 feet and then land on the floor with a resounding thud. And that is going to be about 5 and 1/2 feet from where the wolf is actually residing. Although, Cole, Josephine, do me a favor. Roll an intelligence check. Almost a crit. Josephine and this oldest girl are going to look at each other at the same time because an idea is going to sort of sprout from the ether. This chest could conceivably be used as a mobile wall you can try and push the wolf out of the hole with.

I'm so glad you just said that because I have the exact same thought. That's brilliant. Like, Karen had that thought. Oh my gosh. I'm so excited. I'm sorry. I'm too in the moment of trying to get out the fucking attic to realize that, I guess. Can I yell to Elrath, help me push this into the werewolf? Because I ain't pushing it anywhere. Yeah. If you say help me push this into the werewolf, she'll be like, fuck yes. But if you just say help me push this, she'll be like, I'm trying to hit him. We're going to use this as a battering ram. Let's go. Nailed. Yes. This wolf is going to try to-- ooh.

Don't rain on my parade. The wolf, with a sudden jerk, is going to lunge forward. And a good portion of its body is going to clear this hole. That's the bad news. The good news is one of these boards is so jagged that it is going to dig into the side of its ribs and do a pretty decent amount of damage. 13 damage to the wolf. And it is going to let out a yelp. It is still on all fours. Its back legs are still kind of dangling out of this hole, but it is essentially in the room with you. Elrath, Josephine, you are going to try and just pretty much hunker down and drive this chest into the wolf.

The soldiers girl is going to help. So honey, I love you. I want to adopt you. Do me a favor. Both of you roll a strength check. Just strength? Just strength. Mm. OK. Jesus. She's going to place herself in the center of you two. And the idea is that this chest is pretty large. You can all put your shoulder behind it, and you're almost horizontal with the floor. But you are just going to drive it as hard as you can toward this wolf. You are going to scoot across the floor and build momentum as you go. And the three of you are digging into the floor here. And you are going to strike this wolf in the head.

And it is going to let out another yelp. You can tell it was turned away and paying attention to the wound. But it didn't know what hurt it. And as its blood starts to spatter on the side of the wall here in the floor, you three are going to strike it in the shoulder and head with this chest. And you're going to do eight damage. And it's going to be driven further outside. And it is going to frantically start to tear and claw at this chest and wrap its arms around the top of it. Can I hit him again? You can go ahead and take another swing, yeah. 22. It is going to wrap its front paws, both of them, around the top of the chest.

And it is going to come down right near the older squirrel's head and Josephine's face, like inches away. Bite it. Sora, do me a favor. Oh. Yes. That is going to hit the wolf. And I had Hunter's Quarry on him from like five years ago. So that's pretty good. Do me a favor. Roll damage. This arrow is going to let fly from Sora and plant itself into this werewolf's left paw. Again, the wolf is going to let out this snarling whimper and draw its hand back. Elrath, Josephine, do me a favor. Roll one more strength check. Three of you are going to dig in again and try and drive this wolf out.

The wolf has gone pretty much flat after it started to fall back out of the window. And the three of you are going to push with all of your might. And I would imagine the three of you, your shoulders are just-- your shoulder and head are just against this chest. You're not even peering over the top of it. And after a few seconds, there's going to be a loud thud. And all three of you, at the same time, are going to realize you've reached the wall and you can't go any further. The wolf is officially outside. Do me a favor. Everyone roll a perception check.

Now there's nothing guarding the hat. I know. Crit. I'm kind of glad I still perceive nothing. Josephine, Sora, Cole, Elrath, there are going to be two very distinct sounds. One is going to be the sound of this chest striking the wood of the wall. And it is going to largely cover up this hole. Only-- there's only a bloody spot at the top where there's sort of a jagged-- it looks like someone bit its-- something bit its way through. Very, very, very jagged. But other than that, this hole is essentially covered. That's going to be the first sound you hear. Two seconds later, you're going to hear the sound of a body hitting the ground beneath you.

And then another whimper. Is there any hole in the hatch? About the hatch. I shouldn't have asked. This is where the second werewolf comes into play. Mm-hmm. Cole. Yes. What were you doing with the hatch after you moved the chest? I was preparing to move things off of it until I saw Joseph-- until I saw Joe, Ella Raaf, and the girl use it as a battering ram. And when I saw that, I decided to wait to see what the aftermath was before I decided to do anything with the door. So there's still some stuff on it, but I guess not-- not like-- so like, the stuff that was still on it before we moved the chest on it was still on it.

So it's not open or anything like that. Right. No, it's not. OK. There's going to be an eerie quiet that falls over this room. And you're going to hear the sound of other members of the party breathing heavily. Some of it a mix of adrenaline, some of it a mix of pushing, pulling objects, making attacks. Just the stress and tension of the situation. Everyone do me a favor. Roll one more perception check. Josephine's going to hear something. Josephine is going to hear the sound of the second werewolf let go of the side of the house and fall to the ground underneath of you.

And then it sounds as though the two figures are moving very quickly. And it sounds like they're moving away from the house. What would you guys like to do? Cry. Puddle in a small ball. Would Josephine tell us? Oh, yeah, yeah. I would tell you that they're going away. At this point, I don't think it matters. Well, I just want to know if I can look out and if I can see, like-- No, I'm talking about like stacking more stuff on the thing. Yeah. On the hatch. That's perfectly fine. I'm talking about the hatch. I don't think it matters anymore. Once they decide to use it as a battering ram, it's either protect the wall or protect the door.

And we didn't have anything else that was heavy, did we? Exactly. Can somebody with perception or dungeoneering or something say something about the structural integrity of the door? Because if the box is there and we sit on it, there's at least a buffer between us and the werewolf claws. But if the door's structural integrity is so bad that, for example, if we all do that, enough weight will send the door crashing down, that can be an issue. All right, I'll roll this perception. All right. 28. Taking a really good look at this hatch, Cole would be able to tell the rest of the party that this is not going to be able to withstand much more abuse at all.

That chest was offering some really nice support. Sadly, that's being used to block the massive hole in the wall. But what about the fire inside? That pretty much burned out. It was just kind of cloth on fire. And if it were more dry, this house would probably go up like kindling. Even though I threw it on cardboard boxes? Yeah, but everything-- if there's holes and everything and damp can get in from all the fog and all of that, everything's going to be damp. I mean, there's no cardboard in Theria is the thing. It's more like light wood and stuff. Like, it's not-- yeah.

There's no manufacturing facility. Then how do you move? What in boxes? You don't move. You stay where you are. Or you use a wagon. Or you just get new stuff. No, no, no. I mean, there are chests and wooden boxes and things. This would be really light duty wooden boxes because this is kind of a poor-ish family. Or it was. Now there's just a boy. So basically the same way you would have moved before the invention of cardboard. Pretty much, yes. I wasn't alive then. Sorry, gosh. I would like everyone in the party to do me a favor and roll a perception check. Sora, Elorath, Cole.

Actually, let me roll for the kids too because this is important. Shaw. Oh, Shaw. All of the children-- Elorath, Sora, and Cole-- are going to hear another noise after you heard the two wolves run away. You're going to hear a howl. A long, loud howl. It sounds like it's coming from one of the nearby rooftops. Everyone do me a favor. Roll a nature check for me. Yeah. Hey, Sora. What up? Everyone in this room is going to notice that the two youngest kids are going to start to panic. Like hunker down in the corner shit yourself type of panic. And the eldest girl is going to bend down and wrap her arms around the two of them and just kind of pull them close.

Both Cole and Sora are going to know that that type of howl is that wolf calling for reinforcements. Oh, no. Why? Guys. No. Oh, please, no. I think that's a good time for us to stop. Are you fucking kidding me right now? I called it. I honestly called it. Oh, no. I knew that's what that meant. It's like this long, drawed out torture. I knew that's what that meant. And I knew he was going to fucking do that, which is why I didn't even bother threatening him not to do that. I can't take another session of this. Oh, my god. I know. I will pause-- You're going to take it.

You're going to heart attack. You guys have survived another hour. What hour? Oh, god. Oh, we are so fucked. God, I love this show. I would love it more if it weren't ending. Here's the thing. Next time we sit down to play, we're going to have a long session. Oh, my god. If we don't die. Should we have our new characters rolled up before then? No, no, no, no, no. I want you fully invested. [LAUGHTER] No one died. Everything's good. I know this is slow going. But those of you who listened to the episode today, you know what's up. Yeah. You just know that time is not on your side.

We just got to live. How long-- for real, how long could they possibly take to get to us? I heard two. I estimate two. It's been one. Yes, and it's been one. I estimate two years. That's very optimistic. Two years, Valerie. What? Howdy, folks. Thank you for listening to today's episode and all of your continued support.
