They're a great company for the great people, and we are proud to have them as a sponsor. Let's do that thing where we get ready to go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason, I'm the Dungeon Master, going around the table starting with Mac. Hey, I'm Mac, and I'm playing that one person who's dying right now. And Jamie! Hi, I'm Jamie, I play Kori Forestkeeper in The Utilized Seeker. And Bree. Hi, I'm Brianna, and I play... Fuck, what's her name? Santos. Wow. It's Sirai Sion. This is the first time I've ever introduced myself. I was gonna fuck it up.
And last and certainly not least, we got Jasper. Uh, that's true. This is Jason "Jasper" Perminter playing Marigethal Red, the Human Cleric. We should really start introducing you that way. What? Human Cleric? Because I think everyone thinks your actual name is Jasper. It's true. I mean, I was thinking about it. Nobody can find me... When they Google my name, they would never see DNR, and I'm really proud of it, and I want people to see it, so... We should fix that online. Yeah, whatever. I don't care. You do. You literally do. I don't give a shit. You literally told me you care.
I know, I... You told me you care. I know, and I'm just so proud of it. I want people to be able to find DNR with me. So, last time on the show, you guys met a young lady named Santos in the city of Brightport while you were looking for someone to sort of short-term help out the party. You're getting ready to go on a long mission here, and it could be dangerous. It might be nice to have someone other than the three of you. You got to know her a little bit, and you sort of decided to take her with you. She agreed to help, and you settled this in a bar in Brightport where Kaluna may...
Mistakes were made. Mistakes were made. Let's put it that way, yes. You left Brightport, and were promptly attacked by a couple of trolls. You managed to slip away, and that is where we're going to pick up today. Let me ask you guys a question. Before we really jump into things proper, how quickly would you want to be moving? Is this sort of just a canter? Are you just sort of racing toward the mountain? How quickly are you trying to get to your destination? I don't know about anybody else. I don't feel like we need to go at breakneck speed to get there. I'm not saying let's dilly-dally and just sort of meander up to the mountains, but let's not waste our energy now.
Is Kaluna going to tell anybody that their tummy is upset, or are we just going to... Listen, Kaluna's jumping off that horse the first opportunity they get. So is this a thing where Kaluna would try to stop the party and say, "Guys, one moment." Not quite. I feel like Kaluna would, as soon as they were sure that the trolls weren't going to eat them, they would leap off of the horse and try to get into the woods and find a place to hide so they can die. Okay. Well... Maybe don't do that instead. Not... Listen, I don't think they're going to get very far.
They're probably going to go, "There's a nice shrub," and dive into that. There's a nice shrub. Okay. We've all been there. We've all been there. So you guys have been riding... You were riding pretty quickly to get away from these trolls, and once they are completely out of sight, like they are not a danger anymore, no trolls gonna catch you guys. And this would, of course, be specifically Kaluna and Thanatos, because they were the ones who were in direct danger. Both Kori and Merrick were just a little bit faster on the draw and got away. So here's what I would like everyone to do.
Firstly, I want everyone to roll a Perception check. Good. Off to a great start. 27. 19. Yeah. So high now. So, one, Kaluna, once you're out of sight of these trolls and they are far, far behind, and you are sure that they are not going to be a problem for you, you are going to leap off of your horse. Currently, you guys are... You are approaching the small town of Aldmor. Right now, you're in a place called the Moors, and that is next to the forest known as Bandit's Rest. Good. So there would be a kind of a small patch of woodland, not the forest proper, of course, but I mean like a small patch.
And Kaluna is going to go racing toward that strip, and they are going to disappear into the shrubbery. Everyone else is going to notice that Kaluna has stopped, dismounted, and then disappeared. Hmm. We have no idea, right? I mean, I can't remember. Do we have any inkling that they had? Well, everyone watched Kaluna eat this stuff. Yeah, but... They got into a slap fight with Merrick, I mean... Yeah, but no... Yeah, but nothing since then to indicate that that was a problem. Right. Okay. I think Merrick would immediately, whatever horse he's on, he would wheel it around like something must be wrong.
Especially since we just sort of got out of the clutches of some trolls, maybe thinking Kaluna got hurt or something's wrong, or maybe they saw something, or I don't know. He would probably wheel around and be very, very concerned, and get back with his horse to the same place where Kaluna's horse is, and then jump off of his horse. And looking at everybody else, like, is anybody stopping me or anybody have any ideas here? I'm not sure if Thanos knows how to ride a horse by herself. Aww. Is that a thing I would know how to do, like, automatically, Jason, just by virtue of being, like, a traveler?
Or... Roll for it. I think... I think this will be, like, a knowledge thing. Let's see here. Um... You know what? Let's do a skill. Let's just do a flat to see if... Let's do... I'm gonna make it a nature check. And if it's 20 or higher, then she would have some... Uh oh. She would be raised in some capacity with horses, and at the very least would know how to ride a horse. Maybe not be incredible at it, but have some cursory knowledge of horse riding. So, dungeoneering, you said? I believe us at nature. Unless this is some sort of dungeon horse. Wow! Yeah, no. 15.
Not a thing. So, what happens now? Um, you are just going to sit astride this horse. Okay. Alright. And nothing's gonna happen right now. Uh oh. Yeah, I would imagine Kaluna's just, like, just, uh, just, like, pull back on the reins just to get it to slow down. Okay, so the horse is standing still at this point, so Antos is just gonna sit completely still. Like, I'm not gonna make this horse move. But she'll, like, gesture with her head, like, where Kaluna went, just in case Maric didn't see, even though he did. Yeah, Maric would pull his horse up, like, right up against, like, parallel, and jump off.
And then go straight, I think just go straight into the brush. So you're gonna follow? Yeah. Like, something's gonna be wrong here, and he's gonna be very concerned, so some sort of weapon at the ready. You know, actually something I keep forgetting about that I haven't had any good reason to use, but Maric has a hand crossbow that he always has on his belt that he never really uses. I think that he's gonna be at the ready with that in case there's something at a distance that he needs to deal with. Okay. Sounds good. You're gonna find Kaluna in a fairly good deal of pain.
Looks like she may be having some sort of stomach distress. Hmm. Okay. Now, the thing is, Kaluna, this isn't the kind of stomach distress that you might be thinking it is. 'Cause I know we can be lowbrow here. No. I know. On occasion. But this is just a great deal of pain. It comes in spurts, like, every once in a while. Don't say spurts, dude. How can you- it's not what you think! Blah blah blah spurts. Spurts. Kaluna's shitting themselves, though. No. So, this is- it looks as though Kaluna's, like, sweating. Just very uncomfortable. Does Kaluna even have pores?
I don't know. I was going to ask that as well. Yeah, I don't know if they can. Whatever the equivalent of wild and sweating is. It's a soft, porting dew. Oh, exactly. Exactly. Oh, god. That's not how dew works. But okay. Continue the dew, Mario. Technicalities. Technicalities. So, yeah- Don't correct me, you're about to shit your pants. [laughter] You know right. Okay. So, right now Kaluna just looks off. Looks almost a little panicked. And just not feeling well. At all. Okay, this is what Mary sees. Yes. Okay, is Kaluna standing or on the ground? Like, writhing in hay?
Kind of hunched over. Okay, hunched over. Maybe like, holding onto a tree or something. Yeah, just kind of a brush. Holy lord. Oh my god. Like, just kind of like- let me get a minute here. Okay. Maric will put his crossbow, hook his crossbow back onto his belt because he doesn't see anything, right? Like, there's no- he's not seeing any danger. And probably would assume that maybe Kaluna did get swiped by a troll. Like, maybe got slashed by a claw or something like that, but still made it out. And so he's immediately looking for, like, damage. Mm-hmm. It's been taken.
I'm assuming he doesn't see any of that, but he's definitely scanning. Kaluna, what the- what- no, what's going on? What the hell happened? Um, so, can I get, on a scale of one to ten, how much pain is Kaluna in, exactly? I would say this is a high seven approaching an eight. Oh. Oh, that's bad. It comes- it's like, almost like contractions? Like, it's like, "Oh god." Oh no. And then it just- it just subsides for a little bit. You're like, "Okay, okay, I might be okay. I might be okay." And then, like, a minute and a half, two, three minutes later, like, it just- it comes in waves.
Like, if you ever had, like, a really upset stomach. Yeah, okay. So, almost an eight. Kaluna would not be speaking Common. Kaluna would be speaking Elvin. And they would say, "Oh my god, we're so stupid. Oh fuck, we're stupid." Just sort of a litany of self-deprecation along those lines. Bear, of course, doesn't speak Elvin at all. So he would- he would be very concerned that something's happening and that Kaluna's trying to tell him something. So he's gonna, of course, like, you know, grab them, like, just checking- scanning, checking them, holding them, grab the shoulders and that sort of thing.
And looking like, "What's go- speak- talk Common. Speak in Common. Common, Common, Common. What's happening?" Uh, Kaluna's going to sort of take a moment to try and focus. And, uh, what would they say? To sort of- the shortest thing they could possibly say to communicate. Um, I think they're going to say, "You were right." Can Merrick piece this together? Is this, like, an insight check or something? Or, like- It's been hours since then, but I think the fact that you don't see any physical damage- So he's- okay. All right. Yeah, I would say that, yeah. Okay, so he's going to immediately just sort of back off a little bit and kind of, like, smugly- probably he shouldn't be this way, but he's going to smugly slightly, like, "Oh, okay." So you have a little- you're having a little runny tummy?
You're having a little tummy trouble? Is that what it is, Kaluna? How did that happen? Uh, Kaluna is going to, um- I don't know if Wildin have their own gestures, but if they do, Kaluna's going to do a Wildin equivalent of just flipping him the bird. That's kind of what he's looking for. Just very clearly, like, "Fuck you. You're the worst." Okay, that's what he was looking for. Okay, so he's going to sort of- he's going to drop the bullshit. Is there any way that Merrick could do a heal check, or would there be anything that he would feel like is possible to do?
To sort of, I don't know, to help out at all? What you could do is you can go ahead and run a heal check. I want to see something here. Okay. Ooh. 20. Okay. You could just gut them, and then it would be fine. Right? Leeches. Leeches. So, here's the thing. Merrick is going to- Merrick's going to tap in his powers here and see if there's anything that he could do for Kaluna's upset stomach. And doing so produces seemingly no results. Hmm. Now, question. Mm-hmm. So, this being one of Merrick's trained skills, would he recognize that this should have worked? Yes. So, that's what I'm trying to do, is piece together, like, "Okay, it's not just that it fails.
It's more like, 'No, that really should have done something. This is different.'" Yeah, that should have, at the very least, acted as the Therian equivalent to Pepto-Bismol. Something. Something should have happened. Right. Okay, so he's going to be a little bit worried. He's going to look at Kaluna in the face and sort of just, like, focus on me. What kind of pain are you in? This is important. Tell me what kind of pain you're in, Kaluna. I don't know what kind of pain is Kaluna in. Yeah, I mean, just- Just like- This would be- He still doesn't know what's going on, really.
Oh, that's true, yeah. So- He just knows that you ate soup and that you're hurting, but it could be- Could you just, like, describe it again for me? Just like- It's essentially, it's sort of a pain that's coming in waves, and it feels like it's sort of your, like, maybe, it's definitely like stomach area. Sometimes it kind of hurts your side a little bit. Ooh. And it's something that doesn't seem to- it doesn't- it's not a super predictable pain, only that every time you think it's going away, it comes back. Okay, so Kaluna's going to sort of mime with their hand, sort of like a wave motion, you know?
Sort of like if you're doing the jellyfish thing. They're going to do that. I don't know what that is, but that's awesome. And then they're going to sort of point. Oh, you don't have the- oh, you're missing out. Jellyfish thing. You know, where like you move your fingers like a jellyfish. Oh, well, yeah, sure that, yeah. I mean, everybody knows that. I know what you're talking about. Cool, cool, cool. I'm with you. Let's go, let's go. But yeah, that's what Kaluna's going to do. They're going to do just sort of try and illustrate their point without using words.
Okay. He's going to be concerned. This should have helped and didn't. Is there, I guess, what would he say? Is there anything you know that helps you? Is there anything that knows? I don't know your physiology like you do. Is there anything we can find here in the brush, in the vegetation at all? A check of some sort, I guess. Give me a nature check. Whoo! Actually, um, and Bandit's Rest. Let's see. So there would be, there would be some sort of like a minty type plant that would grow near Bandit's Rest that is good for upset stomachs and stuff like that. Though it's still very strange that, uh, that Merrick's, you know, powers had no effect on that.
So Kaluna knows that? Yes. Is there any chance of articulating that or is it just a hopeless cause from Kaluna? Um, I was saying that Kaluna would try and draw the minty plant thing in the dirt. Okay. I didn't know that case. Yeah, they would, and again, it would not look very good, but it would work. You know, just passable, like this many leaves, this general shape. Go find. Basically. Would this be something that Merrick would get having communicated for a long time with Kaluna? Or is this something that he would be baffled by? It's a picture. Well, I mean, would he say like, I get it that it's some sort of plant, but I don't know what that is or would he say like, okay, I can try to find that.
Like, would it be enough information for him to try to find it? I'm going to do this. Um, I'm going to have, I'm going to have, uh, Merrick roll a nature check and give me a plus three because of all the trekking that he's done through forests recently. Gotcha. Okay. Eh, 16. Okay. So 19. I'm going to say that he would at least have a pretty good idea of what Kaluna is trying to say. Like, like a rough sketch if you're looking for someone. It's like, long dark hair. I like you have a rough. Okay. Okay. Um, okay. I don't want to prolong this too much. Okay. So, uh, Kaluna.
All right. I get it. So there's, there's something that might be able to help you. I'm going to see what I can do to find it. Okay. Can you just wait here? Kaluna's going to give him a look like, what the fuck else am I going to do? Okay. All right. Merrick's going to do whatever he can to make them comfortable and, um, and, and yeah, that's it. And then he's going to run back to the horses and the rest of the group. Presumably all of the group is there, right? Like people didn't just keep going. I would hope not. Well, Thanatos literally can't ride a horse. I'm stuck here.
Yeah. Right. But I don't know how Corey- Hi. Fuck off. Meet you there. Um, so, uh, Merrick's going to come out and try to get everybody's attention very, very quickly. Um, and, and just say, uh, Kaluna's in pain having some something going on. Uh, it's probably the soup or something, but it's intestinal or stomach. Um, and then he's going to look at Corey directly and say, can you help me find something that might help her? Them. Can you, can you, can you help me find something that might help them? Uh, Corey is going to look at Merrick and say, uh, I can try.
What is it exactly you're looking for? Do you know? Uh, Merrick's just whatever the, whatever the description is. Merrick's going to try to get the best description he can of the drawing that Kaluna made. And just pass that information on and say like, does that sound familiar? Does that sound like anything you might be aware of? I'm going to roll a nature check and find out. Yup. Bam. Yes. Oh yeah. I totally know what you're talking about. And you have some in your hand. I used to throw that back home with my bros. I had a farm. It was legal on the island. Right. 420.
You rolled a 420. Um, okay. So 38's pretty high of a nature roll. Corey would absolutely know exactly what Kaluna was trying to communicate to Merrick. And there is absolutely a plant in the area locally that can be found that, with a little effort, hopefully you can grab it and bring it back to Kaluna and it can kind of be brewed in some tea and it is known to soothe stomach distress. Because that's a more common occurrence that you might think being an adventurer and on the road. Not too many portajons. But I know where to find it. You'd have a pretty good idea.
Yeah, it's a little... Dude, I'm literally standing on some right now. Right? You'd have a pretty good idea. It sort of grows in, not thick forest, but you're not going to find it in a field anywhere like that. So it kind of grows in shaded areas. So you'd have to sort of go into the forest, but yes. Okay. I will relay this and just say, you know, we're going to have to venture off the path a little bit to get to it, but I will definitely be able to point it out if we see it. Okay. I hate taking the time away from what we need to do, but this is important.
I mean, the only other option we have is to just forget trying to find it ourselves and just make our way to Aldmoor. We're almost there anyway, but I'm just worried that it's going to become worse if we don't do something immediately. If you feel like you've got a good handle on it and you feel like you would be able to find it as quickly as you could, then maybe we should just take care of it immediately. What do you think? If they are really in a lot of pain, they can't continue on, then I definitely agree we should make the path. Okay. Um, Santos, um, I'm sorry for the delay in our trip.
I imagine you don't have a lot of experience with horses. Is that true? Santos is going to kind of look at the horse, which she has been sitting on, like not moving this entire time, because like she's tiny and the horse is big, so she's kind of scared and then she'll just kind of like nod a little bit. Okay. Well, listen, um, we've got to find this plant or leaf or whatever it is for Kaluna as quickly as possible, but you can actually help us out if we can leave our horses here and you can just make sure that nothing sort of leaves. You've certainly got enough firepower that if you got into trouble, you could probably handle yourself.
Do you feel okay with that? She'll nod again. Yeah, sure. Okay. It shouldn't be more than a few minutes, but you just never know with these type of things, right? So, um, hang tight. Okay, Cory, can we do this quick? Before you guys leave, Santos is going to call out to Cory. She'll hop off of her horse and just nod and she'll start to head out until, I guess, Santos calls out to her. And then she's going, like she looks really annoyed by this, but she's going to like mumble. Can you hold me down? She'll kind of have a little smirk and she'll walk over, put her hands underneath Santos's armpits and lift her very high in the air and just sort of keep her there for like a couple seconds to give her a little shake.
Santos is so not amused. She's like, a broken leg would have been better than this right now. She'll just give her like a little wee shake and just pat her down and here it comes. A little nuggy. Just a little, just a little, "Ah, yeah!" You got a little scamp you. She's glaring daggers at you. But she'll take the reins of the horse and kind of like gather them together. Kaluna feels proud for some reason. Merrick's just gonna, he's like in a rush. Like he's like, we've got to take care of this because he's very worried for Kaluna. He's going to say, just let them graze, but just don't let them go far away and just keep them close.
Okay? Sure. Great. Great. Okay. Let's go. Let's go. So, Cory and Merrick are going to head into the forest proper. Kaluna is sort of ducked down behind these bushes here just in case. And Santos is back even further with these horses. Okay. Cory, do me a favor. Roll a nature check to see how, one, well, and two, quickly you track down this plant. Come on, snake eyes. So what you're actually looking for are these little plants called jirib bushes that they tend to grow near trees and shaded areas. They're tiny little bushes, like miniature bushes that have these minty-like leaves on them.
And they're almost primarily taken for tea and stuff like that. And Cory is after, I would say, 10 to maybe 15 minutes and not venturing too far away from where Kaluna is, is actually going to find one. Yes. Sweet. So that is a pretty big stroke of luck. That's pretty awesome. Cool. Let me just grab some of these jirberries. Jirberries? I couldn't help it. Okay. I'm just going to sit here and move now. You know what? While you're doing that, do me a favor and roll a flat d20. No! Yeah. Okay. So you're going to grab a bunch of these leaves off this plant. And I would imagine you're putting it in your pouch or whatever, your sac, satchel, whatever you want to call it.
Yep. Now, are you heading right back to Kaluna or are you grabbing Thanatos first and then setting up camp? How are you going to do this? Because this does need to be brewed into a tea, so a fire is going to have to be lit. What time of day is it? Kaluna can't just fucking eat it. I think Cory would probably give the leaves to Merrick actually being that he is going to be the one, he's the healer. He'll be the one caring for Kaluna and Cory will go grab Thanatos. Okay. What time of day is this? It's not actually super late. You're quite a bit away from dusk.
Okay. And we're pretty close to Aldmoor because we're at Bandit's Rest, so it's maybe a couple of hours away at the most. Let me see. If you were to ride straight to Aldmoor from here, probably a good four or five hours somewhere in there. Okay. So we would arrive in the evening, but at dinner time, not midnight or anything. Yeah, they'd be lighting lanterns and stuff like that. Okay. Because it's fall now. It just turned fall, so the days are going to start getting shorter really quickly. Okay. What I don't want to do is make camp whenever we can just push on.
We've all sort of had a break, even though Kaluna is not doing great. The horses have had a break. We can get to Aldmoor and be in safety. Bandit's Rest is called Bandit's Rest for a reason, so I don't want to even be on the outskirts of this longer than we have to be. So if Cory's going to go back to Thanatos, that's great, and take care of the horses and be right there. And it's just right there that Kaluna's not too far away. Mm-hmm. So yeah, I guess they'll head back to Thanatos, and Merrick's going to get whatever he needs to do to be able to brew a tea.
Does he – I mean, he has Tinder and – Oh yeah, yeah, that's – – of anybody. Merrick would have a French press or something with him. [Laughter] Thanatos, do me a favor and roll a Flight D20. [Laughter] Six. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Just for the record, every time you ask someone to roll a Flight D20, I have this picture in my head of them standing in an open field, and all of the potential encounters are behind trees in a circle around them. [Laughter] And whenever you roll high, they all go, "Aww." [Laughter] It's like the Cabin in the Woods wall of monsters.
Yes, exactly. They're all waiting. So here comes the redneck family of zombies. Oh, fish man. What was it? What was the tea? Mermaids. They were mermaids. [Laughter] This is a joke because they were terrifying. That's right. That's right. So Thanatos is going to be in this field with the horses, and it's actually quite – it's pretty quiet right now. And what I would like to do – you know what? Here's what we're going to do. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I'm going to make a roll. Okay. Mm? That's for me. Just – I'm going to paint a scene. So while Thanatos is letting these horses graze and maybe getting a little impatient at the fact that everyone is just missing, why don't you do me a favor and roll a Perception check?
I'm actually good at these. Watch. Watch what happens. Here it comes. Yeah! 32. I can see what's about to eat me. At the last moment, Thanatos is going to hear this sort of high-pitched, whiny growl. And she's going to look over, and out of this sort of – these overgrown bushes, she is going to see a small pack of gnolls. Fucking really? Yep. Why did it have to be gnolls? Do me a favor, Thanatos, and roll Initiative for me. Okay. Let me find that. Initiative. Okay. So at the end of this round of combat, we're going to go ahead and add Merrick and Kori. Okay. So Thanatos, you get to go first.
So what's going to happen is these gnolls are going to emerge from this pile, this overgrown pile of shrubbery. Almost a wall. And most of the ones in the back, there does appear to be a leader. This one's sort of like a much lighter color than the rest of them. Kind of almost a white, like an off-white, sort of stained with dirt and blood, that kind of thing. Right. And he's going to be holding a sword while the rest of them are holding clubs. Got it. And they look like they're pretty set on ill intent here. So go right ahead. I will use my Force Blast. Okay.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine. First I'm going to shift back one, even, because I'm hoping maybe they won't be able to reach me in time. And Force Punch. I thought about being a show-off and just like walking over there and using Destiny, but I don't want to die. Let's try this first. We don't know that you die. Hits. That will hit the Noel Warfang. That is the leader. Do me a favor. Roll damage. Okay. I need to arrange my thing better. Okay. Twenty-three damage. That is going to knock the Warfang back six spaces. Anything else? I don't have anything minor, I don't believe, so I think I'm good.
Let's see here. Marauder number two. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. And he's going to use his second movement there. And... Jesus. Okay, so. First of all, Warfang's turn is going to pick himself back up. And one, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Forward. And then we got no Marauder number four. Do the same thing. No Marauder number three. And... one. So, here's what we're going to do. That's so scary. So imagine these, imagine... Let me see. All of them except the pack leader have surrounded Thanatos, essentially. So they've surrounded this fourteen-year-old girl.
Cyan or not, this could get ugly really, really fast. Let's add Merrick and Kori. Go ahead, roll initiative for me. 'Sup guys? Got it. Now, okay. So eleven, but Merrick gets to roll twice for initiative and take the better of the two. I would do that. So the eleven. Wow. Yeah, eleven is the best. Sorry, Thanatos. I don't die. Alright. So where are we coming in from? So I would say that you guys, and we're going to go back to the top of the order with Thanatos here, but I would say that you guys are going to be coming in from the north, so just above. So right there.
Okay, so. You guys are going to see the situation, you're going to come back to where you left Thanatos and realize she is surrounded by gnolls. Thanatos, your turn. Okay, I think now is a good time to be a show-off, so I am going to use Decimae. So it's a burst three, which gets all of the guys near me, but not the one furthest away. Right. So I target them all, and then use my attack. That should roll for all of them, right? It does roll for all of them. You hit every single one of them except for Gnome or Order Three. And then I'm going to do damage. Holy sh*t!
That's a lot of dice! That is so many dice! What was that? And they are all knocked prone. Um, actually they're dead. Well they're not prone. They're knocked prone. And then half damage to the one that I didn't hit. And then I have to take, we can do the 63 if you want, we can do this with the highest one. Oh can we? That I take. So here's what we're going to do, hold on a second, because it's half damage for a miss. Right. So, um, 31 damage. Holy god. Okay. So a fourth of 63 is 15.75. Okay, so Thanatos is going to take 15 damage. Ow. I feel like I would have taken more than 15 damage if those three guys were standing though.
So, I think I'm doing okay for myself. Yeah. Okay. So, Merrick and Cory are going to watch Thanatos get surrounded by these gnolls. Thanatos is going to raise her fist, it's going to glow red, and she is going to plant it into the ground. The ground is going to twist and shake and split apart beneath her. And in the area encompassing her all around, it is going to crack and split open and start to swallow these gnolls. Some of it is going to continue to shake and some of them are going to be either crushed by the earth beneath her, or just sort of cut in half almost as it continues, like the plates beneath her just continue to shift.
And just kind of gnaws and gnashes the ground beneath her itself just destroys these gnolls. Except for the one that managed to not succumb to the major blast. That's going to bring up the Warchief. Wow. I'm wondering if he would even want any of that. Huh. Running is an option. Yeah, I honestly think that this gnoll would see that and go "Fuck that!" And just leave it between him getting blasted into next week, getting up, running back, and as he's running just boom that. I don't think the gnoll would want any of that. I think he would use both of his movements and an action point to retreat from battle completely.
So let's do that. And that'll bring up Gnoll Marauder 3. Come at me bro. I, so prone, he's going to stand and use his movement to retreat. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. That'll bring up Corey. I honestly didn't think I was going to get a turn. I'm ill-prepared. Okay, well. I mean, there's one dude and she just saw that happen. I think she would just not even at a brisk pace just like slowly sort of walk up to Thanatos and literally "Do you need any help?" or... I was literally saying that to her. If you actually ask her that she's going to shake her head because I am fully prepared to force punch this guy.
The second it's my turn. And Corey will take a step back and just have at it, yo. For real, she just saw this take on. I don't think she needs me here. I'm just going to chill. Uh, Maric, your turn. Okay, I think, yeah, Maric having seen all this will be like, "Whoa, okay, probably not needed." But, you know, for the sport of the thing, because it's not like we're going to make friends with anything. He's going to move up. Let's see. How do you do that? Like, I don't know. Can you move like that? Wait, 5? 2, 3, 4, 5. Move diagonally, you know. Oh, you can? Where was I?
You were right next to the stump. Oh, it's here. Wait, here. Yes. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Bingo. He's going to pull out his hand crossbow, speaking of the crossbow. And he's just going to try. He's not even thinking he might even do a good job. He's just thinking like, "Well, let me see what I can get in here real quick before it's all taken care of." I need some practice. So he's going to go for his ranged attack here. Okay. And that'll miss. Oh, well. So that shot will go wide. Maybe he's not practiced with it. Well, also he's just like, "Eh, whatever." He just shrugs.
Whatevs. Yeah. Thanos, your turn. What I'm going to ask you to do is go ahead and roll a charging roll for me. Charging? Yep. Oh, right. It's been three turns. God damn it. Yeah, you used a daily. I should have let... Oh, I didn't know that's how it worked. Well, he's going to get away. Damn it. 7. Okay, so you're going to get a +5 to any damage you might actually roll on your next attack. He's just going to get away. The Gnome Marauder is going to continue to move and use both of his move actions to just retreat from battle. That will take you guys out of combat.
No big deal. It's normal. You said you had this, bro! I'm just kidding. I didn't know I had to charge after a daily. I thought that I could do three turns. No, anytime you use a huge attack like that, you have to have this huge expenditure of power. Kori's going to see it that you took mercy on his poor soul. Oh, she won't like that. I'm kidding. Maric's just going to come up to Thanatos and just making sure that the gnolls are actually dead. He's going to just stare and nod his head like, "Yes." He's feeling all of a sudden the bombs that he was trying to get from Gratic.
He's like, "Don't need them. This is perfect. This is better." So he's very, very happy. Thanatos is like, her hair is all in her face and she's breathing very hard, but then when she sees you're next to her, she's going to pretend that she is not breathing hard. Because doing that much takes a lot out of her, but she wants to pretend that it doesn't? Yeah, right. Maric's going to just say, "Nice." Then he's going to get stuff from his pack, maybe from the horse or whatever he needs to be able to make the tea, and he's going to go tend to Kaluna. I was going to ask about the horses.
Were they in that blast? No, no. They would sort of get away. You know what? Do me a favor. No. God damn it. Not doing their favor. Thanatos, roll a saving throw. If it's... I would say they wouldn't be in the blast to begin with, but if it's ten or higher, then they're close enough that you can wrangle them. If not, they're going to be scared off by that blast and just take off running. Is a skill roll just a flat d20? Just a flat d20. This is just a saving throw. Yeah, those horses were scared off by the blast. I didn't fight. Can I just nature roll and keep them here?
I didn't... I didn't do nothing. I saw them run away and I nature rolled to keep them here and they'd love me. Can't I just keep nature at them? They loved me so they stayed, right? That's what happened, right? Honestly, that changes a little bit of what Merrick would have done. Instead of coming straight up to Thanatos, he probably would have gone off to try to grab a horse, knowing how important it is. Well, you know what? While the blast would scare them off, if you roll an athletics check of 25 or higher, I'm going to say that you would catch up to them eventually.
Can all three of us try? So the nature thing, that's for reals though, right? No. Just going to do that. Just going to lob scout knowledge at them. Instead of... You said athletics? Athletics. And Corey can try too. I'd say Thanatos is pretty worn out just for the moment. Yeah, Thanatos' athletics sucks. You're almost a crit. Oh, Corey is going to run down these horses and eventually catch up. Got long legs, man. I got a 23. That's pretty respectable. You know, that makes total sense because you're wearing all that armor and Corey's all like one with nature and shit.
I'm running with the horses, not at them. Just to the next town. I'll see you there. And then they keep going and we will have to get them back. Thanks. Yeah, I would say that the horses kind of went down the road a bit and eventually just kind of stopped. Because Corey's not going to outrun a horse, but at the same time, we'll be able to catch up to them with enough time to wrangle them back. I would say after another 10, 15 minutes, Corey would be back with these horses and Merrick would have the stuff that he needs to brew this tea. Okay, well in the meantime, would he have gotten the impression that Corey was on it?
I would say with a 33, she took off from a track star. Okay, so he's going to... Like the scene from Pocahontas. Yeah, so he's just going to go be with Kaluna and just sort of... Is it close enough to be able to see when Corey gets back? I would say it's a thing where Thanatos and he don't have to stay behind and just be like... Okay, okay. I got you, bro. Yeah, it's cool. Well, I mean, I think Merrick would just go try to find Kaluna very quickly and then just say, "Okay, we're almost here. Be right back." And then just... In other words, he wouldn't leave them alone completely.
Sweet. Okay. So again, after about 10 or 15 minutes, Corey's going to make it back with the horses. What would Corey be doing? Like, is it the same thing? Like, leave the horses behind and go find Kaluna? Or how would you like to do this? I think after bringing them back, she'd probably be a little hesitant to let them go because they might still be a bit frazzled. So she'll keep hold of them and just... I think that'll be her. She doesn't want them to run away again. And she doesn't want to tie them up or anything in fear that they will... Because we need them, by the way.
Right. Don't want to walk. Don't want to walk. Thanks. Totally. So is everyone pretty much going to... Is this just... Merrick took off with Kaluna and then Thanatos and Corey are going to stay behind? Yeah, sounds about right. Yeah, makes sense to me. Sweet. So in the meantime... So I would say Corey got the horses back and Merrick would have the stuff he needs. Maybe Corey dropped it off real quick and then came back with the horses, something like that. So Merrick is going to go ahead and start brewing this tea. It's going to take just a little while. Kaluna, do me a favor, roll an endurance check.
I'm somewhat good at those. Yeah. Okay, so Kaluna is not in tremendously bad shape. Still in some pain, but not to the point where Kaluna is on the ground or they're huddled in a ball or something like that. But you could tell, still very distressed, still like, "Boy, I wish this wasn't a thing." I imagine after that amount of time, they would definitely be on the ground, just sort of like, "Why?" Not because they need to be there, but just because like, what's the point? Just sort of like staring up at the sky. Yeah. Okay, so let's see how well Merrick brews this tea.
Do we have to roll for this? Are you kidding me? No, I'm kidding. I'm joking too. I don't know. It's tea. Brewing tea is an art? Excuse me. Because I have a very high tea roll. Okay, but who has the high- Get an Uncle Iroh this shit. Let's go. So yeah, Merrick's gonna go ahead and take these leaves and brew a pretty decent tea. Now, how would you present this to Kaluna? Is it just sort of like, drink? Yes. Okay. Yeah, it'd be like, "Drink it. Go. This is the stuff. Go, like, that you asked for." Since it's coming from Merrick, whom they trust, they're going to grab the cup and just sort of like gulp it down.
Not even gonna blow on it or anything. They're just like, "Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme." And they are going to look at him just full of adoration, which admittedly is not rare with Kaluna, but at the same time it's slightly different. So a little time is gonna go past. About five to seven minutes. Somewhere in there. And you're gonna hear Kaluna's stomach make a new noise, which is just sort of a "wah-wah-wah-wah-wah." Can we get that again? God, that's my new ringtone. "Wah-wah-wah-wah-wah-wah." That kind of noise. Would Merrick, being a healer, be able to translate this?
Would he be like, "Oh, that's a good sign." That's not a sound usually stomachs make, and it's a good thing, but what's gonna happen here is the pain is gonna start to subside a bit. Like, it's definitely--this is gonna take a huge amount of that pain away. On a pain scale, Kaluna would rate this like a low three right now. Kaluna's still going to look very concerned because they're like, "That's not a normal sound, but at least we feel better." Wow. Okay, Merrick's just gonna be relieved to some degree. He's gonna, "Okay, let's--you seem like you're doing better.
Do you think you could make it back on the horse?" Um, quick question. Now that Kaluna is of a more sound mind, could they roll some sort of heal check to be like, "What the fuck is going on? What just happened?" Like, roll a nature check for me. Okay? Judging by the clues that Kaluna has been given thus far, the fact that Merrick's heal check did very little. Nothing, really, in terms of taking any of the pain away, and the leaves that are brewed into a tea that usually is just specifically for stomach distress only sort of halved the pain. And the nature of the stuff that Kaluna ate.
Kaluna's gonna come to the conclusion that there is a chance that they ingested some sort of parasite. And if it's what Kaluna thinks it is, this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. Mmm. Mm-mm. Mm-mm. Um, can--can we--can Kaluna eat fire and get rid of it? [Laughter] I feel like they would definitely have that look on their face like, "Oh no." And they would look at Merrick like, "Oh no." Very much just like, telegraphing. Could we just like, get some raid? I mean, they-- Could it be a trade? Yeah, it'll work, right? Here, swallow this roach motel. [Laughter] Okay, well, that's not good.
Does Kaluna, like, relay this information or keep it to themselves? Uh, yeah, after they sort of give Merrick a look like, "Oh no," they're going to--they're going to let him know that they have some sort of weird bug in them. Uh, okay. Um, that's not good, especially since we're on a tight schedule here. But the good news is that we're on our way and we're almost in Almor. Maybe we can find something there that would be able to help. So, if you feel like you're up for it, if we can get back on the horses and make our way to Almor, we'll be there after nightfall, but not too late.
Maybe we can find something or somebody soon. Does Kaluna know anything about, like, something to do here? Hmm. Do me a favor. You can roll either History or Nature on parasites like this. Definitely History, right? That's-- 25. Um, it--okay, this all depends on what type of parasite it is, because there are some that, when ingested, will sort of use the body as a host. And they have been known to attack the brain, to feed off of organs. Some of them will--it'll be like an egg that you ingest and your body acts as sort of an incubator until it hatches. And then, depending on the parasite, can actually take control of your body and pilot it, or outright--again, depending on the parasite, the egg is more like an egg sac and launch a thousand parasites in your body and then they just devour you from within.
Okay, so here's another important question. Would Kaluna know the differences? Like, would it affect them differently because of their weird physiology? I mean, obviously, if it's an egg thing, it's still going to be like, "Hello!" Right. Well, your body still produces warmth, and you still have organs of some sort, I would say. And since you eat like other people eat, I would say that your body is close enough that any parasite could probably still use your body as a host. Okay. Merrick lights Kaluna on fire and watches them into ashes. I mean, at this point, that's probably Kaluna's thoughts.
Like, maybe, maybe if we just die. Merrick suggests they all set up camp, uses Kaluna as the fire. Perfect. So quickly, does--again, is any of this related to Merrick? Oh, yeah. They'd be like, "Well..." Does Merrick know anything that could potentially, like, flush parasites out of somebody's system or something like that? Acid, perhaps? Like you do with a dog, you know? Like, you've got heartworms, you just get a shot and the heartworms come out the boob. Here's the thing. The treatment for these types of parasites, it depends. So there are some that feed off of heat, some that feed off of different things.
So if you were to treat for the wrong parasite, you may actively make the situation worse. Ah, it's like House MD. It's probably Lupus. Yeah, it's never Lupus. Okay. Damn it. All right. And this is beyond Merrick's understanding and heal possibilities, right? We've got to get to somebody else to get some help. This isn't going to be okay. Can you ride? If we go fast. Yeah, well, we've got to get there fast. Got to go fast. Yeah. Okay. All right. So Merrick's going to help Kaluna tenderly, gingerly helping them to the horses and everything. And I don't think he's going to explain anything whenever they get the horses.
It's just like, yeah, it's better, but we've got to get to Aldmoor and see if we can talk to somebody who may have some experience with stomach issues. Because this could get worse. Kaluna is not going to offer any help to Thanatos. Just, you know, you don't want to be on the horse with them, probably. I'm good. I don't want to be on a horse, period. I think. They're so fucking weird. Do me a favor, Kaluna, as you're walking back to this glade. Do me a favor, roll Perception. Oh yeah, because there were things happening. Yeah, there were. Okay, so Kaluna's going to notice that the ground in sort of a circular pattern blasting outward has been really wrecked, sort of twisted and bits of the ground itself have been kind of jutting up as it looks like the ground is separated, then slammed back together.
Kaluna's going to look over at Merrick and they're going to point at Thanatos and just sort of look at him questioningly. He's just going to nod and then shrug and then just keep going on with like getting everybody ready for the horses. They're going to smile at Thanatos and then they're going to get on freckles. I love dying and being dead. You're not dead yet. Yet. There were other options. Before we start, hold on. Are there any parasites that are not completely horrifying in Theria? Yes! I gave you, hold on a second, now hold on. Firstly, I gave you a couple of options in that scenario where you don't die.
No, I'm not talking about like dying, I'm talking about like do not hatch eggs and crawl out somehow. Yes. Okay, I just wanted to know. I like how you said somehow because that just leaves every orifice open for the Taken. I mean that's what I imagined. Or some that don't even exist yet, like some alien situation? Yeah. I'm just a flat out chestburster. Hello my darling, my time gal. Remember that weird scene? Yes. Oh my god, I watched Spaceballs. Damn it, again. I love Spaceballs, but that scene was completely weird. That was just the weirdest scene. I loved it though.
That was one of the scenes where you're like, what? This scene seemed to fit with this movie. I didn't understand that movie whenever I first watched it, but I was like, oh, that's a chestburster. I like this. I like this. I've never seen aliens. Oh, I have all of the movies. I have them, never watched them. Sci-fi is just a different genre, even when you combine it with horror, it's just not something I'm into. See, I can't even say like, oh man, you're missing out because I don't really remember them. So I can't be like, god, I can't believe you haven't seen aliens when I might as well never have seen them.
I've seen Dracula in space. Oh, that sounds good. That's about the same thing as aliens, right? Sure. Yeah, cool. I think so. That's pretty weird. So, parasites. Um, yeah, we're gonna see what you got. We're gonna see what you got. Now, you know what, we'll get to it. Okay, we'll get to it. Is this up to me or... In a sense. Or do we already know what it is? Or rather you? Um, we're gonna do a die roll for it. Okay. Okay. We're gonna do a die roll for it and this is gonna be really interesting. Okay, we're all ready? Yes. Yep. Let's pick up where we left off. So you guys are pretty much going to try to advance to the town of Voldemort?
Uh, yeah. Absolutely. Alright, so... Who would like to do me a favor and roll a flat d20? Not it. I rolled a six earlier, I should probably not. Alright. Me? Okay. Here we go. You got this. Sure. Okay. It's a seven. It's a seven. Relax. One better than five kobolds. Knolls. Knolls. Whatever. Small annoying thing. Knolls aren't... Well, they're small-ish. They're a little more lethal than kobolds, but okay. Actually, no, I always put them on the same level. Oh, really? Yeah. Huh. So, here's what we're gonna do. You guys are going to advance to the town of Aldmoor. Now, by the time you get there, the sun has dipped in the sky and there's just this little bit of orange.
Again, the days are starting to get a little shorter. So you're gonna ride into town completely unhampered. You're gonna get there and it's a pretty small town, Aldmoor is. There's only about 1,200 people in it or so. So, what would be the first thing you'd like to do after getting here? Go to the inn and ask about doctors? Yeah, I mean, I think we need to find a place to stay first, like sort of a home base. Okay. Well, looking around town, you're gonna see that this is sort of a one-horse burg. They do have a place called The Lantern, which is essentially just the local inn slash.
They sell a couple of general goods. There used to be a shop in town, but the people that ran it moved away. So, I'm guessing you're pretty much gonna head to The Lantern, considering that would be the one business establishment that's open right now. Sounds like it's our only choice. Alrighty. Now, when you get there, is this the thing where the party's just gonna head inside? Well, yeah, I mean, I think Merrick would just be cautious, especially since we know we're gonna need these horses and just sort of make sure that they can be, you know, lashed up wherever they need to be safe and, you know, everything's cool with the horses, basically.
Okay. I have this feeling like there's mistrust now, like you think I'm gonna try and take your horses away. No, I think I'm really, this is Merrick. Right, no, no, no. Merrick's thinking like, okay, this is kind of an important thing. We don't need any setbacks. We've already got Kaluna. The last thing we need is for our rides to be gone or something. Gotcha. Not personal, not everything's about you. [Laughter] So... Merrick gets hit by a bolt of lightning. So when you walk into this place, there's gonna be a taller gentleman standing behind the counter there, the lone counter in this smaller reception area.
It is gonna be fairly warm. There's gonna be sort of a crackling fire going on, and that's mostly for guests, just kind of a reassuring thing to walk into. The guy's gonna have short-crop blonde hair. He's gonna be wearing glasses, kind of a slightly older-looking guy, like you'd guess maybe 40s, late 40s, somewhere in there. And as soon as he sees the party walk door, he's gonna kind of straighten up a bit. He was slouching behind the counter. Can I help you with anything? Yeah, I mean, we're looking for a place for the night, all of us, and food, sustenance, something.
It seems like this is the only place in town. Is that about right? To stay for the night, yeah. This is pretty much your best bet, unless you know someone in the area and they take you into their house. The kids are gonna be there for the night. They're gonna take you into their house. The kitchen's closed for the night, but we do have some stew. We could warm up for everyone. Kaluna's not going to look happy at the mention of stew. Right, Merrick's gonna look at Kaluna and say, "Tell you what. Is there any chance you could open up the kitchen for me to be able to make something up for everybody?
Have you eaten tonight?" Me? Yeah, you. I'm happy to make something up for you as well. I've got some skills in the kitchen. Let's just put it this way. Stew has been kind of a little bit of a problem lately. He's gonna kind of tilt his head like, "Nyeh-neh," over at Kaluna and point at his stomach. Oh. You know what? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I think we could set you up. Can I tell you something? And he's gonna lean in. Our chef is horrible. Okay. Yeah. I smelled when I came in that that was the case. Listen, I'm gonna take care of you tonight. But you do have some places for us to stay, right?
Yeah. I have a few rooms. Great. Your kit can stay for free if you're gonna be cooking. Great. Thank you. That would be fantastic. I appreciate that. He's gonna just sort of turn-- Does Thanos hear that? Roll a perception check for me. I would say anything over 15 and yeah. I have a 14, so. Yup. 22. She is going to immediately go, "I'm not his kid." I'm really sorry, little lady. I didn't mean to assume. And he's going to lean in and whisper to Merrick. She's a little grumpy from the road, I'm guessing? I think she's a little grumpy from life. I'm not quite sure at this point.
But she's one of our party and she's a valuable member and we all need a little bit of rest tonight. Speaking of that, I know it's late and I know that's probably unlikely, but do you know anybody that might be a little bit skilled in tummy troubles that might be around in Aldmor? Well, I know we get a lot of tummy troubles thanks to our chef. Well, what's--is it just bad food? 'Cause that'll pass eventually. It seems like it's not going away. I think Kaluna hiked up from the back. He's like, "No!" So he's--okay, so I would say that this guy noticed that Kaluna is pretty adamant about-- like, it's not just bad food.
Okay, what is it, poison? It's tummy troubles that seem to not be going away, and so maybe there's a little bug or something like that, but we just wanted to see if there's somebody that might have a little bit of something to, you know, flush out the system. Well, actually, okay. As long as you don't tell him that you're gonna be taking over his kitchen tonight, I would go talk to our chef. 'Cause he sucks as a chef, to be honest, but, I mean, he does sell potions and things sometimes. That's what we're looking for. Okay. All right, so the chef is here, or does he stay here?
Yeah, lives here. If you go up the stairs and then make a right all the way at the end of the hall, you'll see which room is his. Perfect. Okay. I think we might need to take care of this real quick, and at least go get something prepared, and then I'll come down. If you can maybe open up the kitchens, and I'll be back in a minute? Sure, yeah, I'll get everything ready. So Merrick's gonna sort of get closer to everybody else in the party and just be like, "Okay, does this seem reasonable to everybody? I mean, are we gonna stick around here tonight? Anybody need anything?" We're good.
Okay. You wanna kick back and just relax at the fire or something while I take Kaluna up and see what we can find out? Santos will just nod and go straight up to the fire and sit down next to it, 'cause she is tired. A grumpy teenager, you're fine. Pulling out your-- Santos is exactly a grumpy teenager. Pull it out like a Nintendo, like a Game Boy or something. Okay, so Kaluna-- She's got some Wi-Fi password. Exactly. All right, so Merrick's just gonna go on up, he's gonna just motion to Kaluna, like, "Let's see what we can take care of. This is important." Merrick's actually worried-- I mean, the reason he's being urgent about this is because he knows that the longer this goes on, the worse things could get.
So it's not worth waiting. Would Kaluna be following Merrick and-- Oh yeah, Kaluna would definitely be-- They'd probably actually hold onto his sleeve or something, kind of like a kid going to the doctor, basically like, "I don't know, but I don't know, so I don't know." What about Kory? Would Kory be going with Kaluna and Merrick, or stay downstairs with Santos? I think she would probably go with Merrick and Kaluna. She's a bit worried at this point because she kind of thought that she helped already and that it was all better, or it would be all better, and since it isn't, she wants to make sure that Kaluna will be all right.
Okay, another quick question. Would Kaluna and Merrick inform the rest of the party about the whole parasite thing? So far, it just hasn't come up. It's just kind of like, you know, like I said, if we can just take care of this and just have it be done, then let's just not even worry anybody else about it. But Merrick is super worried knowing that this could turn into something else. Kaluna wouldn't say anything, probably, because they're just sort of-- They leave the talking to Merrick most of the time, you know. They're leaving it to his discretion since, you know, they've made mistakes now and they don't trust themselves.
But they will reach out for Kory's hand just for more support. Oh, okay. That said, it's not meant to be a secret. It's just more like, you know, until you need to worry about it, don't worry about it. Like, we got it. It's not like, don't tell anybody about the parasite stuff. Not like that. So Merrick's going to lead the charge up and take a right and head to the end of the hall to the cook's door. By the time they get there, I think honestly, he would probably look back at Kory and say, "Yeah, this could turn into something pretty nasty, so we kind of want to take care of it if we can." Like, got it?
That's why this is urgent. Totally understand. I don't need details. I don't necessarily want them. Great. But I'm here. I'm here for you guys if you need me. All right. So what does Merrick see? Do they see something odd about the cook's door or anything, or special about the cook's door, or is it just like the last door in the hallway? Do me a favor, everyone roll a perception check. 30. Merrick, Kory, Kaluna approaching the end of the hallway. Each one of these doors is going to be fairly decorative. Nice wooden doors, each one of them equipped with a lock.
When you get to the end of the hallway, on the right side, there is a door that someone has taken some sharp implement to and carved in rather large letters. On the face of the door, the words, "Fuck off." Kaluna's going to look over at Merrick, very confused. "Uh, um, oh, we're at the right place." And Merrick's just going to knock on the door. Not like, "Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam," but just, you know, confidently. From the opposite side of the door, you're going to hear a voice yell back at the party, "The sign said fuck off." Kaluna's going to get mad.
They're not going to say anything, but they're clearly like, "Wow, not a fan." It's not making it easy. This should be easy. It's not easy. Um, Merrick's going to look back at Kaluna and Kory, just like blank stare, like, "Ugh." He'll just turn back and... I'm actually doing it right now. I'm pushing up my glasses and I have my fingers at the top of my nose pinching my hand. So Merrick's doing the equivalent of that, like, "Okay, alright." Um, uh, what's he going to say? "You sell potions? We have gold." You can hear where he's about to say something, like, getting ready to, like, kind of spit something out, and then there's going to be a pause.
And then you're going to hear a heavy limping move toward the door on the other side. And you're going to hear the door unlock and it's going to swing open. And this rusty, warforged individual is going to glare kind of openly into the hallway at you three. Kaluna-- Oh, go ahead. Kaluna is going to simultaneously become more aggressive and hide behind Kory. Like, they're going to, like, bare their teeth, but also sort of like, "We're in a bad shape, so we're going to hide." Again, still glaring at the party. How much? Depends on what you have, and we're looking for something very specific.
Merrick's going to reach his hand out to shake his hand, not expecting very much. Um, this warforged will not reach back. Merrick's going to keep his hand out anyway and just say, "I'm Merrick. This is Kory and Kaluna. We have an issue, and we're looking for potions to be able to flush out the system of one of our party members. Do you have anything like that? My healing didn't really do very much, but we're looking for something a little stronger." He'll drop his hand, by the way, at some point. It's kind of tough to read a warforged expression, because it's just kind of a faceplate type of thing.
So, after a while, it's just kind of a glaring, just kind of... And he's going to mumble something under his breath. Fucking magic. And then he's going to step aside and aggressively motion for you three to come in. Now. He's just going to go straight in, and come on to everybody else. Let's do it. So the three of you are going to shuffle inside, and as soon as you do, he is going to aggressively close the door, causing it to slam behind him. And he doesn't appear to be like, "Oh, I slammed that too hard." He's already walking across the room. What's wrong with you?
It's not me. It's actually my friend here. What I'm going to do... Okay, um, Thanos, do me a favor and roll a perception. Well, seventeen. So, Thanos is going to hear the door slam upstairs, but I'm not sure how she'd react to that? She'd probably just look upstairs and then look over the innkeeper, like, "Is this something I should be concerned about?" Like, she's sitting in front of the fire, just like, on the floor, because she's tired. But she'll look over the innkeeper and go, "Sup, bro?" Um, hmm. I think he would just pretty much... He would probably try to reassure Thanos, "Don't worry, little lady.
They're talking to an unpleasant individual, but I'm sure it's fine. He's not too prone to violence." So don't you worry your pretty little head, okay? What? Give me a minute. Force Blast. Maybe. Everyone in the party roll perception to hear that. No. She is going to stand up, and because she's annoyed with his presence now, she's going to throw some gold on the thing to pay for all of the rooms, because fuck you. She's going to half-grawl, like, "Stop calling me little lady," and she's going to go upstairs to find the rest of the group. He's going to sort of, like, just reach over and... kind of like, "How did you get all this gold?" And, um, yeah, he'll let it go.
He's not going to try and stop or anything. Back in the room. So the Warforged is... he's going to look over the party and then just... "What's wrong with you?" "What is it?" "STD... what? What's wrong with you?" Merrick's just going to look at Kaluna and sort of, like, gesture, like, "You want to explain?" Kaluna is going to... not. They've been staring at the Warforged this entire time, and they're very quickly going to glance over at Merrick, like, "Fuck you, you do it." Because they do not want to be there. Okay. My friend here, uh, Kaluna, had some questionable stew less than a day ago.
There's been a lot of pain. My healing didn't really do anything. We've tried even some herbal remedies that should help a little bit, but there's a worry that it's a little bit more parasitic than that. So I'm just wondering, before this turns into anything much worse, if there's something that can be done to reset her sis- sorry, to reset their system. He is going to start to walk toward Kaluna and just kind of lean in. Kaluna is definitely, like, sort of shuffling backwards until they can shuffle no more. Okay, so there's, like, a dresser in the room that I would say Kaluna would bump into pretty quickly, and the Warforged is going to take another couple of steps forward, kind of a limping.
At that point, I believe Thanatos would be at the door. Um, can Thanatos hear them inside? Uh, do me a favor roll a Perception. That'd be better than last time. A little bit better than last time, 23. Um, you can hear them talking, like it's muffled, but yeah. Okay, well if she recognizes the voices, she'll just walk in. Okay. She's not gonna knock, like... Um, the Warforged is gonna break eye contact with Kaluna for just a moment and look over to the door and then over to the party. Kind of waiting to see, like, is that one of yours? Yeah. I wouldn't say anything.
Yeah, Merrick would immediately be like, "She's with us. She's with us." And then he is going to look back at Kaluna, and then after, like, a long pause, just kind of staring, and they don't blink or anything, so it's really kind of creepy. Where? Kaluna will sort of look over at Merrick like, "Is this really okay? Are you 100% certain?" What, you know, the reassuring look where the eyes close a little bit and the hand comes up, it's okay. Just go ahead. Go ahead. Okay, then Kaluna is going to look back at Mr. Warforged Man, and they're going to very stiffly and very slowly point at their stomach.
No, moron. I know you ate something. Where did you eat it? Then Kaluna is going to look over at Merrick again, just like, "Help!" We were in Brightport. God, Merrick has a five-year-old at the doctor. Is it almost like, "Dude, I just vouched for you," or is it more like... He's just, "Fine, we were in Brightport at the docks." Another long pause, staring at Kaluna. I'm going to need a sample. And he is going to reach behind, like, past Kaluna, and start to aggressively try and open the top drawer, and just sort of slam it over and over again into Kaluna's thigh until they move.
Kaluna is going to bolt over to Merrick, and they're looking at him like, "What the fuck is a sample? What the fuck is that?" It's okay. We're going to find out. This is exactly where we need to be. This is perfect. Just hang tight. This Warforged is going to reach into the top drawer after Kaluna moves, and he's going to pull out this small sheath, and then from it he's going to whip out this dagger, and he's going to start to approach Kaluna with that, sort of outstretched. One hand is going to sort of reach for their shoulder. Kaluna is not a fan. I'm trying to figure out what they would be doing.
Because they're clearly, at this point, they're like, "What the fuck have you dragged us into?" You know that old trope on TV of the cat on top of the refrigerator hissing? That's exactly, that's this. That is this. Kaluna, you know what? Kaluna is going to grab their own dagger like, "Fuck you!" Right, Merrick's standing up immediately and getting kind of in front of Kaluna, like, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, hang on. What kind of sample are you talking about here?" When did they eat it? Early this morning. Well, it's still in their system. You want me to get it out of them, I need a sample.
That's not, that's going to cause damage. You can't just cut somebody open to figure out what's in their s- That's like drilling a hole in somebody's head to make the headache go away. Look, honestly, I don't give a shit. I don't really care. I can sell you anything. You want me to just sell you something? It could help, I don't know. Uh, give me a second, alright? And he's going to pull, he's going to basically just pull the party together, sort of away from him. We don't know his name, right? He's just Mr. Warforged? No, no, no. Mr. Warforged. My best friend, Mr.
Warforged, who needs to join the party immediately. Can he fight? I want him on our side. Well, he has a dagger, you know that much. Yeah, yeah, guys, let's do it. Anyway. I mean, this is not normal to me. Um, but Kaluna, how do people feel about this? I mean, the thing is, this is not going to be okay. The truth of the matter is that this could be some sort of parasite that's going to make some serious problems for everybody. And we could lose Kaluna in the process. Is it worth it? I mean, I feel like it's urgent, but- Santos is just going to look up at Kaluna and go, "You want me to knock you out?" Kaluna is going to ignore that for now.
Like, they'll look over like, "Maybe." But they're clearly considering it, and they're going to look at Merrick and they look really conflicted. And they're going to glance over at the Warforged again, and they're going to just sort of very quietly his, "He's a Warforged." He is a Warforged, and I feel like he's confident enough, because he doesn't have to help us, but I feel like he could help you if we have enough gold and if we play the cards right. What if he's lying? They kill trees. What if he just wants- I know, I know. Alright, here's the deal.
It's your choice, but he's- and Merrick's going to look at Santos. You could knock her out? Knock them out? You could knock them out? Well, it's either maybe die or definitely die, right? Or have something worse than death. Yeah. She's going to kind of hold up her fist. Like, let's go. Kaluna's going to let out a huff, and they're going to look between everyone again. And then they'll sort of just preemptively, they'll like sit down, sort of. So that way they don't have too far to fall. Jason, does- would Merrick have any idea, does he feel like for a simple and quick wound that he would be able to quickly heal Kaluna?
Oh yeah, this- Like no issue. Yeah, I mean even if this, I would say Merrick would feel fairly confident that even if this Warforged went to town, he would only get a couple of stabs in before the party stopped him. Okay, yeah. I mean the point is that it's like this is not- this does not feel comfortable at all to Merrick, but at the same time something's got to happen here. And as long as he feels like he could take care of sort of repairing Kaluna to make sure everything's okay, then it might be worth it. So Merrick would kneel down- Kaluna sat down, right?
Yeah. Merrick would kneel down and say, "Listen, if you don't want to do this, you don't have to do it. But we can try to take care of you. You're not gonna- to be in any danger, we're all here. We're not gonna let anybody, including a Warforged, especially a Warforged, hurt you, okay?" Kaluna's going to look over at Merrick, sort of with a look that says, "Do you really think that we're ever going to want to do this? Is there ever a situation where this is a good thing?" But they'll just sort of reach out for his hand. Okay. Merrick will grab their hand and just say, "Okay, well listen, we're gonna make sure- and as he's talking, he's gonna look at Thanos and sort of give like the do it.
Like he's distracting Kaluna for the flu shot." Think of the rabbits. Tell me about the rabbits. Well, here's the thing. A cruel DM would have you roll and on a bad roll you would just flat out force punch. Okay. I mean, this is all based on, can you do this and make it a gentle- Well, it's not gonna be gentle, but I would say that Thanos would be able to limit their power enough that she's not gonna punch Kaluna's head clean off or anything like that. It will be like a punch to the head. I don't know, that's a skinny neck. Well, it's like a, what do you call it whenever you hit somebody upside the back of the head with a gun?
Oh, like just hit him with the butt of your gun? No, there's a word for it. Oh. I don't know. Hold on. It doesn't matter. The butt of the gun? I don't know what we're talking about. When somebody hits somebody on the back of the head with a gun, like on the back of the head, there's a name for that. There absolutely is. Oh yeah. It's not coming to me now. It doesn't matter. The point is that that's kind of what Merrick's expecting to happen from Thanos. So do me a favor. Thanos, roll an athletics check for me. Ooh, that's not good. All right. I mean, I'm really confident, guys.
Shouldn't have been, but I am. It's not terrible. Twelve. Not bad. Kalluna's gonna wake up with a headache, 'cause I would say that maybe this took like two strikes, because this is a thing where- I was gonna say if it didn't work, she would immediately go again. Like there would be no pause. Right. So the first one's probably just a really solid punch to the back of Kalluna's head. And then seeing that maybe Kalluna is still like stirring but groggy, a second punch would be delivered and that's when Kalluna goes out. Man, that's awful. I don't. Thanos will just like, as Kalluna falls, just kind of step back and like gesture for the Warforge to come over now.
Like, eh, I'm done. The Warforge is going to look down at Kalluna, then look up at Thanos. Well, that's gonna make this harder. And he is going to take the dagger in his hand, move and sort of stand over Kalluna, and then kneel down and start pressing into Kalluna's abdomen, like that stomach area. Oh, he was trying to make them throw up. That's really obvious. Why the dagger? Yeah. Oh my god. You could have just like punched them or something. I could have punched you in the stomach. That would have been so much better. I like that because of the group we're in we all assumed stabbing immediately because we all hung out with Valis for too long and it was the kidneys.
So you want, you want them to throw up? I really love that Jason just let us do it. This is what D&D is all about. So this Warforged is going to sort of like press down in certain areas around Kalluna's abdomen and then he's going to raise this dagger, flip it over and slam the blunt and the handle into Kalluna's like side like right on the left and then look at Kalluna and see if they react. How easy does she throw up? What's the role for that? I imagine it's not very easy at all. Would Merrick ever have witnessed Kalluna throw up? I imagine like the only reason that they would would be either food poisoning or seeing something so awful that it's like *vomit noise* but like the only food they usually eat is Merrick's so that's not going to happen.
Did he throw up when Bree threw poop on that dude? Didn't you throw up? No Kalluna was like "aw yeah". And like they don't, they aren't really affected by gore that much considering where they grew up. Yeah I don't, I can't think of an example of whenever that would have happened. So I don't think Merrick's necessarily seen Kalluna throw up. So you would relay that? Yeah. Look I gotta dig around in a sample one way or the other so I'm gonna take this knife and I'm just going to put it in her and we're gonna see what happens. Okay uh make it quick, make it small, do what you have to do but don't do any more than that.
Got it? Yeah sure whatever. Whatever I'm gonna kill him. *laughter* Let's start with the best part, the neck! *laughter* Gonna work our way down. Yeah. Just make it quick, please. And he is going to plunge this dagger into Kalluna's side and he's doing it in such a way that you might, you might stab a pig that's already dead and you're just gonna try and cut into it like just thunk. And I want everyone to do me a favor and roll a perception check. Oh please be high. Oh yeah, natural 20! I'm pretty excited about that. I want all the descriptors right now. Where it's like gushing you don't have to be shy.
The Warforged is going to bury this dagger up to its hilt in Kalluna and instantly you are going to, well everyone except for Merrick is going to hear two sounds. They're going to hear the sound of this dagger enter Kalluna's body and it's just sort of a *fwoomp* and then you're gonna hear a second sound. And that is Kalluna's stomach is going to make a very loud gurgling noise. And Merrick is going to see the blade go in and then you're going to, everyone in the party is going to see Kalluna's body react. Kalluna is going to sort of jerk as the blade goes in and Kalluna's face is going to show quite a lot of discomfort.
The Warforged is going to look up at Kalluna's face and then jerk the blade out and Kalluna is definitely going to start bleeding. And the Warforged is going to lift up the dagger to Merrick. Hold this. Merrick will be very confused at all of this and be a little bit aghast but he'll take it. And the Warforged is going to press down on Kalluna's stomach causing the blood to sort of rush out of her. Just kind of almost squeezing like you're trying to squeeze the jelly filling out of a donut. And then he's going to point at Thanatos bowl behind you. Now.
Thanatos will grab the bowl that she sees behind her. Now. And he is going to sort of roll Kalluna's body over a little bit and get some of the blood into the bowl. And then drop Kalluna. Stand up and put the bowl on the flat surface across the room. You can do whatever with her now. Stop the bleeding and whatever. Merrick will stab the dagger down into the floor or whatever just like *fart noise* And then heel check immediately. Just make sure Kalluna needs to wake up in such a way that they will not realize what happened other than a little bit of a headache.
Do me a favor, roll a heel check. There was already an assumption so I feel like nothing actually went wrong here. Kalluna can just never know it was supposed to be vomit. I do feel like Kalluna's body would have a reaction. Such as maybe changing aspects to the one with spikies and anger. I feel like that's fair. That is reasonable. He'll check that this wound is going to heal over. There's going to be a little bit of a scar. But yeah, that wound is going to heal over. Do me a favor, Kalluna. Roll a saving throw. Okay. Let me move things. Wee! Okay, Kalluna's still going to be unconscious though.
For right now. This warforged is going to sort of... it looks almost like he's playing with his blood. Like smearing it in between his fingers and creep. That's gonna get all sticky. You're gonna get your hands all sticky, sir. And then he's going to... behind Thanos there's this table. And it sort of flips upward. And sort of pushing past her, just move. He's gonna... unless she doesn't want to move. She'll move. But she'll go, "Excuse you." He's gonna raise it up and there's sort of a pouch in there and he's gonna grab that up and move over to the bowl again.
And over the next couple of minutes he's going to take out these tools and sort of play with it a bit. And you're going to notice that from his hand there is a small pale, almost a bluish light at one point. And then he's going to... just done with the tools, just kind of throw them down on the flat surface. Wander over to Kalluna and kick them in the ribs. Kalluna, do me a favor, roll a saving throw with a plus two. Okay. Oh yeah, Kalluna's gonna wake up. Kalluna is angry. Kalluna's gonna have a headache and a very mild ache where the... A very mild stab wound.
And now there's gonna be a secondary ache on the opposite side, on the right side where this warforged just kicked Kalluna. Kalluna's probably going to make some sort of noise, probably like an angry hiss or something. Like a goose? I was thinking just like... Okay. But more menacing than that because I can't sound sick. Like a 40s gangster, gotcha. What does this aspect look like? Spiky. Black eyes. It should be familiar because this is how they looked the other time they got stabbed in the stomach. That's exactly right. What's the, is there a vegetation and or something?
This one is Heather. This is the Heather one? Okay. I love that there's the other time. That's true. Snap snap snap snap snap. Hey Kory. Cheers. Would you do me a favor? No. And would you roll a d8 for me? Because... Don't you fret about that. I hate that. Don't worry, it's fine. Don't laugh at me guys if I pick up the wrong dice because I always... It's the one right next to the d6. Okay good. What would Kalluna's first act be upon waking up? Probably, mostly, hmm. I want to say that they'd do the smart thing but they would not. They would probably take a swipe in the general direction of whatever just fucking hit them.
Okay. Obviously it wouldn't do much because it's just their hand but... Right, totally. It's the thought that counts. The Warford's gonna look down at Kalluna. Get up. They're going to spit back. Fuck you. Stay on the ground, I could give a shit. You got worms. *laughter* Jason you do not know how funny that is because while you were gone... That was one of the guesses. Oh was it? Yes. So Kalluna just yelled "fuck you". The Warford says "you got worms". So Merrick's gonna sort of turn his attention not towards Kalluna but towards the Warford's and say "okay you just said they have worms?
What do we do about that?" Let her die or get rid of them. How do we get rid of them? Oh. He's exasperatedly he says. Oh I can give you something for the pain but yeah, probably gonna die at some point. What? No, how do you get rid of the worms? We've got to get rid of the worms. That's why we're here. You're not. Listen to me. And you can see he's kind of impatient at this point. You're not fucking listening. Unless you want to go troll hunting you're probably not gonna get rid of these worms. Troll hunting you say? Your cure was running at us top speed on our way here.
Not fucking speed. They were trying to help you. Wait! Wait! Did you eat the food back there? We can help! *laughter* What do you mean troll hunting? What do trolls have to do with this? I can make you a cure for the worms if you give me a troll brain. A troll brain? Specifically, yeah. Frontal lobe. If you can get it. Oh my god. What? Are you kidding me? I have so many questions. So, Ugh. Merrick's gonna do the same thing he did at the door with his...pinching the top of his nose and... I should...you know. I'm doing it right now. This one arm is like hugging himself and the other arm is just like in the middle of everything and pinching his nose at the top.
He's gonna see you doing this. Ugh. You seriously need me to break this down for you? No, I got it. There's no other way. You're the one who ate the food in Brightport. They tend to buy cheap meat, usually from the Silverglade if they can get it, so they get infested. Boar and uh...this thing. Kaluna's going to look horrified when he mentions boar. They're gonna look up at Merrick and be like, "We ate a pig?" Ugh. Is Kaluna Jewish? No, uh, Kaluna's favorite animals are pigs. And so whenever it's like, "Oh, we have pig for dinner." It's sort of like if someone came up to me and was like, "Hey, we're having dog for dinner.
You wanna come over? You wanna eat it?" Sort of the same reaction. I like that you're more upset that you ate a pig than you are that you have worms living inside of your body. Listen, Kaluna has priorities right now. And they are not exactly, you know, skewed in the correct direction. Well now we need a troll brain. Let's go. He's um, he's gonna look down at Kaluna. I'd say you got two, maybe three days. Looks to me like you got silver boring larvae. So they're probably gonna erupt in your friend here and then devour from the inside out. Is there anything we can do to prolong this a little bit?
So that, delay I guess is what I'm saying. Nope, not really. Don't move around. Don't run. I wouldn't even walk fast. Okay, alright. You are paying me for this, right? Yeah, yeah, fine. Yes, you'll be paid. And for the cure? And for the cure, yes. Thank you for your help. Alright, um, okay, thank you for your time. And we know where to find you. And you'll be seeing us soon, hopefully. And all of us will be here. So thank you very much. Sir, Mr. Warforged. Drak. Drak. Thank you Drak. Oh, such a good name. Drak, Merrick's gonna finally, he's gonna reach his hand out again.
There was no gold in that hand. I love him! You don't deserve gold, and Kaluna's going to leave. No. Your friend's an asshole. So are you. Yeah, so are you. Listen, you shake my hand, you get the gold, alright? He is going to reach out and squeeze Merrick's hand. Not like in a test of strength, but just like here. Like very patronizing. Yeah, that's what Merrick's trying to do. Yeah, right on the border of aggressive instead of passive aggressive. Okay. Okay, Merrick's gonna get a few gold out and hand it over. Like four or five. That's it? Yep. Are you shitting me?
You stab my friend, you say she's gonna die, they're gonna die. You knocked her out! Did I say knock her out? No, but it didn't change anything that you had to say about anything. So it's taken care of. The big, look, this is what you get now. We know what we need to do. We'll bring you the brain, the frontal lobe, and you'll get paid handsomely. How's that? Yeah, yeah, because you're gonna live and do that and come back, sure. Watch us. Alright, just get the fuck out of my room. Alright, Merrick's gonna take off. Um, Thanos is gonna hang back just a little bit.
Um, Jason, do I know what Warforged are? Can I roll a history check? I've been waiting on this for a while. I was like, I don't want to interrupt anything. Um, god, the thing is there are no Warforged in- Right. There are no Warforged in Talor. I would say it is a history check, negative three. Because getting to the mainland, you'd hear about them pretty quickly. Right. Alright, so with a negative three, history check. Wow, eleven. Um, you would pretty much have a basic idea of what a Warforged is. Nothing, just, they're just sort of living constructs that are, that house a soul that was created by magic.
You really don't know too much about their origins or any of the stuff going on with the war, anything like that, really. So I don't know, they've all been wiped out? Um, that actually would be fairly common knowledge at this point. That's what I was hoping, is that that's the one thing she knew. Yeah, that's actually fairly common knowledge. The couple weeks after the war, that's pretty much gotten around. The ones that are still living, they're all rusted up and everything. So yeah, that's pretty common knowledge. Does Heloc all rusted up? Oh yes. Thanos is not one to mince words, so she's just going to be kind of hovering near the door like she was going to follow them out, and then it occurred to her to ask, and she's going to go, "So how did you live?" He's going to tilt his head and just look at Thanos like, "Who the fuck are you?" Like that kind of...
"I was one of the unlucky ones." "How?" "I didn't die with the rest of them." "Were you stronger than they were?" "No clue." Okay, she's just going to walk out then. I was trying to think how would she end this conversation, and she would just legitimately just like, "Oh okay." And then just leave. If everyone else is gone, I would say Drak would pretty much just slam the door. That would be one of the last things you heard leaving the hallway, is just him slamming the door. I really like Drak. So Thanos is going to kind of half jog up to Merrick and then ask, "So are we going to go get that troll?" Merrick's going to just not say anything.
He's not ignoring, he's not being a dick. He's just like sighing, and he just makes his way to where the fire is, downstairs. So down the hall, trying to find a place to sit and think for a second. But not like, "Go away from me." But just like, "Yeah, come on." Alright, so she's going to, when you don't respond, she'll go, "We know where to find two of them, but I need to sleep first." He's going to motion for basically everybody. Just like, "We gotta figure out a plan." If they can get around the fire, that would be great. Merrick likes fires. It's nice.
Kaluna will stay away from the fire. Well, close enough to the fire. She might cook your worms. That's true. It might also have the opposite effect. Speaking of which, now that Kaluna actually knows specifically what kind, could they roll another thing to see if they know? Could they get a bonus because Silverglade? Is that where you're from? Yes, that is where. I would say, go ahead, roll with a plus two. Yay! Oh yeah. Thirty cents. So the Silverboring larva that becomes Silverboring worms once they sort of hatch in someone, it is a fairly common occurrence when you undercook boar from the Silverglade.
About one in every ten boar is infested with these parasites, and while they don't harm boar, they are extremely potentially lethal to people. So what ends up happening is undercooked meat of some sort is ingested, and these worms just sort of use your body as an incubator, as we talked about earlier, and there are nutrients in your body that they crave. So what they're going to do eventually, two to three days, unless you really exert yourself, and then that kind of speeds the process up, is they are going to hatch and sort of burst in your body.
So the larva is just going to go everywhere. So you'll start to feel lethargic and probably fevered and just really slow and tired. And then eventually what they're going to do is gnaw their way out of your body from the inside. Okay, nice. Cool. Here's another question. Is this something that Kaluna would have seen firsthand at home? I would say not in the process, but you would find corpses in the aftermath, and it is not pretty. Sort of picture, somewhat like a body-shaped body, but it looks like it's made of more gooey red gelatin than people. Nice. Mm-hmm.
Lovely. So another question. Would eating help the worms, or does that not make a difference? It really doesn't make a difference. It's more exerting yourself. Okay. And here's another question. [laughter] I know. I know you love these. I know Kelsey's one of my friends. What are you going to do? What are you going to launch at me? Okay, so does using a pig count as exertion? Um, not physical, but that's more mental and stuff. So no, this would be moving around, fighting, like that kind of thing. So yeah. So bouncing around Street Fighter style is not a good idea.
No, running, jogging, that type of thing. Anything that would speed this up potentially, yeah, not a good thing. Okay, so yeah, Kalloon is probably physically vibrating, because they don't normally sit still ever. But whenever they're in this particular aspect, they especially want to move. Right. But they're trying to sort of preserve themselves as long as possible, so they're just sort of like, "God fucking dammit, God fucking dammit, God fucking dammit." Everybody, I don't think we have much of a choice. I don't have a choice. If this is true, and this is what we need to be able to help cure Kalloona, I've got to take this chance and find a fucking troll brain for Drak the Warforged.
So we don't have time for this, but this is the only thing that matters to me right now. Is anybody else going to help? Dantas is just going to kind of shrug like, "Yeah, whatever." Like, she's kind of up for anything, as long as eventually they get to her thing. Like, she still doesn't even know why she's going to the mountain with you guys. She doesn't care. No, exactly. We haven't even had a chance to talk about this. Corey will just sort of take a minute, like she's thinking to herself, and then she'll just say, "You know, we ran into some on the way here.
I don't think it would necessarily take that long for us to do this, as long as we don't hesitate. We should do it as soon as possible." I agree. We just need to rest. We don't have time, but if we can rest a little bit and then make our way out in the morning, backtrack and start our journey over again, he's going to look super exasperated to this. He's very, very torn. But I don't see another option. So you guys are going troll hunting? Looks like we're going troll hunting. Yay! Woo! I think that's a pretty good time to stop for tonight. Trolls. And may I make a suggestion?
Corey is like, "Fuck yeah, trolls!" Please make a suggestion. There might be an episode you guys want to go back and listen to before you do this, just so you remember kind of it's fresh in your head. Yeah. Yep, yep. I think the best thing we could do is make sure that our healers stand in the center. Right, right. Get right up in the action. Right. Because you wouldn't want to be standing too far back to actually help anyone. You want to be... And if we could get Merrick to get bitten by another werewolf so that we can get him right up front too, that would be really helpful.
Like on the other side of our healers. Tree werewolves would be awesome. See, I just imagine really scary chia pets. It's kind of what I imagine with Heather, to be honest. With that form. So you guys did really well tonight. That was actually a lot of fun. That was pretty fun. Dude, I like Trey so much. I love him. He finally has a name. I love him. He's my favorite character. I really wanted him to be like, "Yeah, I'm strong." And be like, "Come on, let's go. Come on, Vomit off, everybody. Let's go." We would not be happy. Howdy folks! Thank you so much for listening to that episode.
I hope you really enjoyed it. If you enjoyed it a bunch, you can head over to our Patreon at patreon.com/dnr and get some fantastic behind the scenes content for just a dollar.
