And she essentially put it to you that you would be taking on some passengers on your ship on your ride to Talor. They will be waiting on the docks for you. And all you have to do is just let them onto the ship. They are going to accompany you.

And when you do reach your destination, they're just going to get out of the boat. And that's it. That is it. That's all you're going to do. If you didn't do that, she said she would murder Tessia, which you guys sounded like you took some offense at. And we are not going to tell Tessia about this. If she has ears everywhere, we can't reveal our cards right now, we can't tell Tessia.

Otherwise, the Black Hand might strike. We can't speak about backstabbing the Black Hand. We can't speak about backstabbing the people on that ship. And we certainly can't let Tessia know that the Black Hand has something on her and plans on killing her. But we certainly should let her know that her life's in danger, right? We should let David know that. Erla would look kind of aghast and be like, all of my skills, all of my brother's skills, I'm sure you've heard of either one of them, have come from our mother. I'm pretty sure she could handle herself, and I will not leave her in the dark.

I still think this is the safest thing to do. If she doesn't know about it, then nothing's going to happen because we're going to go through with the deal. I'd much rather my mother be prepared than be caught unaware. Yeah, Brelyne's going to agree with Erla. This could open a box of Pandoraan proportions. I don't know if we're ready to bring any more of this before we leave. Actaronis, if on our trip, at least once, you've thought that I've made intelligence decisions or a wise decision or I think things through, I've learned all of that from my mother.

She has that and more. She is smart. She's insightful. She will know that she shouldn't go looking for trouble. She won't try to encourage the Black Hand. She needs to know. Yeah, he's going to nod. And that is on the opposite end of the house. Picture it like almost like a hotel, like this big square, like a block. OK. And on the one side, you're going to notice, obviously, there is some. These are the rooms. Like these are the rooms you're looking for. And there are guards in the house. There are people whose job it is to keep an eye on stuff if things get bad.

And these are-- a lot of them are kind of hired thugs from around town. You remember Tessia kind of like almost like a work release program type of thing where it's like, no, no, no, we're offering people a chance to get straight, like an actual paying job and stuff like that. So you're going to notice a couple of these people in the hallway at the end of the hall. And as you kind of wander into view, like at the opposite end of the hall, they're going to notice you and just sort of like kind of like cocked your head to the side like, what's he doing down there?

OK, so first, as they see me, I'm going to close my eyes and use glimpse the future real quick. OK. Let's do that. So I have to roll three d20s. Yep. First one. Oh, nice. 11. You just worry about having a safe trip and I'll do some digging here. And there's a look in her eyes that's very much like, no, I'm done fucking around. Erylve will nod and be like, just keep an eye out for him and kind of give a look like, you know what I'm talking about. Of course. And she's going to reach over and hug Erylve. And again, she'll give you this kind of loving nuzzle like, oh, poor guy, you're so you're tuckered out like you should like it's very like concerned. And he'll he'll like take he'll like put his hand back on her snoot and then like. Like reach around her neck, sort of like awkwardly like, is this OK? And then just like give her a big embrace. There's a place for everything and everything in this place.

The bed is like not only made, but made in that like like severely tucked in style that that. Like all of the sheets and everything, like rigorously tucked in. And there's there's a little writing desk across the room. There's a little fireplace. There's it is a modest quarters, but very well taken care of. And there's some yeah, there's some books and things like that on a shelf. And yeah, like a like a like a small bookshelf, too. There's like there's like a little bookshelf anchored to the wall. And then there's an actual full fledged bookshelf opposite from that.

OK, is there like a journal anywhere from the perception check? I can see like just not that you can see from where you are. No, I is the floor. I assume is hardwood and he probably has like a rug or something in there. The floor is lava, actually. Oh, shit. Oh, wait, what? Yeah. They call me off guard. Touch the black tile. Jehovah starts with an eye. Oh, my God, that's the line of the night so far. That's the one to beat. That is such a deep cut. I love it. OK, sorry. So that like, yeah, it would be like a carpeted floor in the middle, like a kind of a throw rug type of thing.

But everywhere else is hardwood. This is yeah, like toward the center of the floor. There's a nice little carpeted area. I would avoid touching stepping on the carpet. OK, I'll try to like my best to walk around it because I don't want to leave any footprints. Right. That encompasses more the bed and like the surrounding area. There's like a little nightstand next to the bed and stuff that encompasses that. But like you can walk around that and get to the writing desk and the books and stuff. OK, writing desk first. OK, so what we're doing here is three things.

We're looking for one thoroughness. How thorough is Braylon being? Two, stealthiness. How much of a trail? Like how how much would Braylon interrupt the things that are in this room? And three, time. Because what you told everybody outside was, oh, I just need to pop in and get this thing for David. That does not buy you a lot of time. No, it does not. I can only bribe him so many times. Yep. So what we're going to be doing is a little skill check challenge. How in God's name do I always get these? I always ask for them. I don't think it's going to be that hard to get something, but I mean, yeah, you're right.

And they're they're meticulously stacked.

There's three piles of them. There looks to be like three or four in each pile. And then in in another drawer, there's just lots of like parchment paper type of things. These are all staying the way. And then in another drawer, there's letters. Okay, I'm going to the first drawer. I'm going to stick my hand in the drawer and like feel on top the upper part of the drawer. Okay. Where you can't see it. See if there's anything in there. Okay. Do me a favor. Give me a perception roll like to. Yeah. Wow. There you go. Familiar roll six. You always have that 19. I'm just letting you at any point.

These are here's the interesting thing. There are two real formal stacks of letters. Now one of them one set is like unsealed and then the other is is completely sealed up. Everything but addresses. Okay. Okay. Can I look at the ones that are closed and like read the addresses? Well, that's something the ones that are closed they have no addresses on them. Oh secret letters. Well, not secret letters. They're just like oh my god secrets. It's blank. I just haven't filled it out yet, man. So the open ones and let's let's take one from the stack and carefully read it by like unfolding it I guess or whatever in whatever way it's folded not to like unfold it too much.

And you're not exactly sure if it's a if it's a reminder for himself or if it's like a like a like a receipt type of thing just like actually there are dates and times and this there's all kinds of stuff here. Okay, I keep this one. I pocket this for sure. Okay. And I will continue going through these journals. Let's go to the next one. I'm assuming it's so meticulous that he's stacking them chronologically or by organization he's worked for so I want to peek at the next one. Okay, so you're looking for newer or old. Yeah. Okay. But he would like gently reach for her hand her hand it's like her his right hand and like put his left hand on hers if she doesn't like recoil in terror. have been really bad uh that that one uh it looks as though gratic won some uh some dive bar on the edge of town at some point in the last couple of weeks because it starts popping up in this journal but he can't like he has been floating in between that the filigreed faun and the house and a bunch of different places to keep mobile because apparently house silverclaw wants him dead and he has been sort of laying low in the city and tessie has been doing everything in her power to make sure that nothing happens to him and through this book and this is one of the most interesting things it looks like the way david talks about it it looks like there may be some sort of romantic entanglement between gratic and tessia what whoops um that's just that's just the way he's talking about it that's i mean like it depends on how you there's a couple of different ways you could maybe like infer but it's like huh like the way he's talking like large amounts of money have been have been paid to clear to clear gratic's debts um she has negotiated with the house silverclaw in person to uh to stop any harm there have been people uh on the streets of brightport who have been looking for him like beyond like there there's been a small bounty put out by house silverclaw so would be thugs and cutthroats have been have been looking for him there's there's there's been some stuff going on in brightport there was another group that was through that was supposed to have taken care of that but apparently that didn't happen essentially it was a it was a situation where either either this person in estherhold dies a drow or gratic does and since they never received word about this drow they have actively been trying to chase down gratic um that's that's pretty much where this this little book ends did i forget to introduce my father here's gratic yeah they're gonna be holding the book and sort of like just flipping through this one page back and forth kind of like it's just no no there's really you know kind of look up at braille and be like um well what what did you find well uh gratic's definitely been in trouble recently um and tessia has been bailing him out um there may be some sort of romantic relationship there braylen's gonna look at daygon and go ew and sit down on the bed yeah daygon will look at braille and with that ew expression just be like okay um and then uh i guess i'll start thumbing through for something more interesting to him right uh perhaps proof of his suspicions um uh see if uh david is up to no good uh thumbing through this some more more looks like a personal leisure of of of like accounts not just um money coming in and out and things like that but it's more a personal log of money coming in and out um and there doesn't appear to be anything that that that's that would tie uh david to the black hand or even any real criminal element beyond um uh beyond some some guards and stuff that work in the house like that would be like payroll and stuff like that okay nothing okay um so he'll look at braille and sort of thumbing through and i guess sort of giving a look that he's not really finding anything useful to him anyway um he'll say uh you know i don't uh don't really trust that man but i haven't found anything in here to confirm my suspicions do you uh do you want this uh i mean i borrowed it and air quotes so i don't know i mean maybe you could return it or i mean i could just leave it in front of his door um braille and i like you but i'm not gonna do that but he's more afraid of you than me right but it gonna look sort of exacerbated and just with a deep breath i've been i've been traveling for the longest time i can't seem to find the group that i was with you what do you mean you can't find them i i had to separate them for a while i was i was worried that something had happened to brie but i i talked to po and she seems okay so i was just gonna join them up again but they weren't where i anticipated they were supposed to be so i thought they might be here tessie would speak up actually the last i heard they were traveling to banyero facepalm that was that was many days ago though so i have yet to hear word i i'm not sure if they arrived there yet or if they got sidetracked she she's literally going to just like put her hand up to her face like she's so exhausted because she's been traveling alone uh and she's gonna look back to day gone and with a smile and she's just gonna say how how how have you been and she's just gonna give him the biggest bear hug almost lifting him off the ground so dig up just lost in breasts just yeah ah yeah just suffocating oh no i mean if you gotta go such a bad way to go i was about to say just big permanent smile on his face uh after all that kind of like bit of conversation actor onus would probably realize that cori's there like pretty much so uh yeah he would turn around and like you can hear from the back of the room just like cori cori cori and then he just kind of like jogs to you and like joins in the the embrace to do like a like a three ways hug and just like i didn't know you you were coming here i uh jason did i do i feel anything like about the uh the connection i have to take on and cori or did i not notice it it's honestly it's it's so subtle you really didn't notice it until she's in the room it's a lot it's a it's a heck of a lot fainter than it was before all right so yeah i would say like i didn't feel you coming i didn't know you you should have let me know uh she'll take one arm and and grab actor onus into grave news while i was with the group before and i went to go check on her to make sure she was all right based on a promise and i i was unable to find her i went to the town and i met poe there and he seemed to be okay and he said that she was all right so i was just gonna continue on my journey well um she made her way here about a week ago what if she's gonna look just slightly alarmed like like oh um like seriously she was a little worse for the wear but we patched up the best we could and um she ended up meeting up with her previous group and they took off days ago they were looking for more information about and then she's going to step a little closer to the group and lower boys they were looking for information on the upcoming event with the moon and sort of give you like sort of give you guys a glance like you know what i'm talking about at this point uh kori is going to sort of loosen her grip on everybody and have like a grim look on her face and just nod while you're all here i i just wanted to wish you all the best of luck i can't imagine the journey that you still have ahead of you and what you've all been through up until now but i have some business to attend to in estherhold and i i might not be here when you get back i don't know how long it's going to take but when i do see you again i hope to find you all well and so do we uh lady grimness be safe and mainland so you could you could sail like if you were coming back uh from telore you could sail just straight to kihan after after the mainland it's um it's a trek though it's gonna be a trend no matter what you're gonna pay for gas i'll pitch him for gas that's fine it's good six ways now yeah that's good well we should charge those well i don't know i always say three but there's probably individuals fuck not 20 not three guys six of us Dagon and airlove are going to notice that four of them appear to be those uh those bulky looking figures with the weird purplish aura oh boy where that we're that we're hanging out uh around around the black hand the last time you were there the good news is that uh two of them appear to be they're like slightly smaller um like almost average height maybe a little below average um one of them uh one of the two has kind of a slender shapes maybe maybe female or just a very slender male and then there's an individual all of those all of those guys are kind of wearing the the the cloaks right kind of dark cloaks pulled up over their over their face very very much standing there and they're all standing next to a large crate almost the size of a coffin and in front of them all is one individual who is not wearing not wearing the hood up nothing like that kind of a long-haired scraggly bearded gentleman who appears to be human with a very large scar going from forehead down to neck in between his eyes so right over the bridge of his nose like down down homely looking gentleman and he's going to be standing arms folded at the front of the pack just waiting for you to arrive what would the party like to do no sir i don't like it i'll try to lead the the party a bit and try to be like the first one to get like get there get there of the group and extend a hand as i get closer i would just say greetings we are the aluyanda crew i am the first mate first mate actor on acid well athenacius i'm hoping we will have a pleasant trip to telore may i inquire what your names are gentlemen instantly this this this gentleman is going to look fed up with you just just kind of almost a sigh but he will reach at his hand and shake actor tucked themselves away on the on the side of the ship here they they they put their crate down and they're just standing next to it the entire time like they're not they're not moving they're not going anywhere they're you can tell that they're trying to take up as little space as possible like they're they're very much clustered together heaven forbid that box should fall off the side of the boat at some point um okay can you can i get this can you tell me this like is there is there any way that i can see like the weight of it yes actually okay it did okay it did look like there was a little bit of heft to it but it didn't uh it didn't look like those four people were struggling with it at all and when they sat it down it made a sound that if you were to put a weight on it in total um probably right around the 80 to 100 pound mark okay like that that's a pretty sturdy that's a pretty sturdy crate where did they set it down where did they set it down uh they set it down on the deck they're they're currently just sort of standing on the deck okay so air love oh oh no sorry go ahead i was just gonna have air love show them where to put it and maybe scope out the box see if there's like anything on there but if you had something you wanted to do no i was just gonna clarify that that it it's it it's like coffin sized right so it's a it's roughly the size of like a like a human like it's um maybe a short human a very smart like picture picture what maybe a maybe a halfling would be buried in okay what did you say or a human i can picture that i can picture that okay so air love i imagine this whole time she hasn't really been paid to just a conversation but she's been seeing everybody's interest and she's been putting things on the boat and then when she sees them set it down on the deck she'll be like i'll i'll show you to the cargo area where you could keep that safe unless you added another plan for that and she points to the box or does a nod towards the box colas is going to look over toward air love and then after a couple of seconds look over to the four largest in their party and just sort of like kind of do that bro nod toward them and they're going to pick up the box and follow air love okay i want to scope it out so perception yep because i'm going to be like right in front of them look like here i'll show you and like look over our shoulder but be right there okay so it's the arc of the covenant oh god damn it i've been pulling so good oh that's not bad though that's good that's not bad i'm just gonna open it later guys don't worry um so again the the the four of these guys are gonna pick it up and again there's some heft to it but it's not it's it's not anything they can't handle obviously um there's gonna be rope um that that uh like sort of makeshift handles uh on each side and they're they're they're gonna grab for it and lift it up um it's sort of swinging uh it's sort of swinging around a bunch like um like like almost like maybe something inside is jostling something like that do i hear like anything bumping the sides no you don't you don't hear anything like that it's nothing um so maybe whatever's in wouldn't wouldn't make wouldn't make a noise like it's packed tight something like that but uh yeah that is looking at this looking at this crate it is nailed shot like much like a coffin would be like in the old days like nailed all the way around uh and this is meant to take some sort of impact it looks like this is definitely meant to keep whatever is inside from getting harmed i can't tell you that i've gotta say the use of the word coffin is making us very suspicious i'm just trying to conjure a shape we got plenty we got we got time to find out what's in this box i think it's a fireplace that could fit a body i have one question are there any marks on it like runes or anything this is one of the most nondescript containers you have ever seen it is a it is um made of wood uh can feel it and it is not good i think there'll be plenty of time for us to figure out what's inside that crate before we get it to toluor it doesn't look like this party is big enough to be some kind for fun and i can shoot fire into the air oh yes oh i love it has that melted rainbow just wondering that's one of the ads dissipated by now for the most part yeah it's been days it's been well it's been well not days but it's been it's been a while it's been two days right yeah it's sort of fallen away a bit you know good lord i'm i'm so floored that we're actually getting to do this okay so the main here's the thing the four gentlemen who are who have been completely silent the entire time they appear to be just muscle or whatever are hanging out with that crate the entire time like they they they set in the cargo area and they have remained in that area now the other three are are up on the deck they're they're they're just sort of hanging out near the front of the ship just sort of looking out over the water and you guys are you're gonna raise the sails and it's you are going to the the now the great news is there is a strong breeze with you and you are going to be just just propelled gorgeously ahead you are you're going to be making some pretty good time again it is the 19th of t'lor it is early in the morning you could not ask for a better way to start this journey is there anything that the party would like to do i think if possible um for the four gentlemen that are watching the box kori is just going to be leaning up against the side of the ship just staring at the ripples it's like oh my god like that that type of core is gonna have the take the glasses off at the control but it's like good god like that type of just that moment and yeah she's gonna she's gonna realize there is some bad shit coming okay um knowing this she's gonna try to look look cool and calm in front of these four dudes even though they're not really paying attention to her and um who's the nearest to her i guess i don't know if anybody else was doing something below deck or whatever um i'd probably be at the wheel not that i need to use it but i'd be hanging out on the deck keeping an eye on the the three on the deck i think realistically she'd probably go to day gone if he's the one steering the ship um so to speak yeah kinda yeah and she'll just go up to him and sort of look around to see if there are any of those other dudes nearby um maybe more towards the front okay and she's going to whisper to him we are sailing into a huge storm probably none like you've ever seen i bet you're wishing you had gone to yumineero now smirk um so this thing's coming for us or behind us um you'd be sailing into it if if yeah corey if corey's correct like this would be this would be pretty much the entire swath of ocean in front of you like this this would be massive do you sense um any way around this i don't know do i sense any around with that check um essentially your two options would be to one go back the way you came which is just you know to sail a very exaggerated path north or south which would add a lot of travel time or do your best to sail through it and just prepare okay so she'll still whispering because she doesn't want crew to know what's going on um we can try to avoid the storm by going around it but it's going to add a lot of time on our travel or we could try to go through it and make sure we look out for our people well this could be an opportunity to lose some extra baggage we don't have time to go around i think the only choice here is to to take this thing head on she'll not i will go and make the rounds and let everyone know now when you say everyone not really everyone okay just just making sure just checking we're gonna act surprised when the storm happens but kori will tell the rest of the group yeah and i think she would handle it in the same way the i don't know if anyone is near the other crew if i would need to do anything like maybe pull them aside i am standing on top of the box in between the four people so all right so okay so let's start there i guess um she'll go over to the box and air love and sort of like look i'm not there oh my god just on the deck i knew you were looking for runes so i was like is she really like on top of this thing like yeah i think they might notice yeah they might i don't think they let me stand on top of it so yeah she'll go through and and make the rounds to let everybody know and try to stay as uh nonchalant and and secretive as she can gotcha uh what would the party's reaction be um i think calden is probably like hanging over the side and trying not to vomit and like trying to look really far out into the distance to get like a focal point you know so that you don't get sick um and when kori finds him and tells him this he's gonna look at her um and just sort of like look around say what should we do we just need to prepare and i hate to say it but it's gonna get a lot bumpier should we tie ourselves down or i don't think we should do anything suspicious as to arise any sort of reaction from the black hand crew um i don't i don't even know if i really know how to prepare for a storm like this besides to sort of batten down the hatches and maybe go under the deck i'm we've been through a storm before but it was nothing like what this is going to be not that oh sorry go ahead no go ahead not that i wouldn't like to wash ourselves of the black hand so to speak but maybe they could be of some help to get us through this talk to daegon see what he says and we'll do this together cauldron will not will nod and like uh will not at kori and uh go find daegon she'll grab his shoulder before he goes over and just we'll say make sure you're discreet of course um so yeah he'll he'll go find daegon uh who i assume is is steering the ship uh captain captain daegon you'll notice he has a pretty big grin on his face despite what he already knows i assume you've heard kori's news did i have and i assume you know we're riding right into it uh yes i wanted to find out from you what we can do to prepare ourselves um that's a good question um how do you prepare for a storm does anybody know i've never sailed before in my life i'm pretty sure you have to roll up the sails and attach anything that can move and uh that's the extent of right all that yeah put all the important cargo on the deck you know just just to be safe that's you know like a crate just on top of it but uh does you guys want to get rid of the people and then see what's in the crate no both both are fine what uh what would the what would the all you want to do in this situation jason like if it's you say it always takes the safest route well here's the thing um do you ever have like like if you're if you're operating with a gps or something like that it knows the roots but um unless you're using like a okay it's not like a traffic app like a like a newfangle traffic app it's more like a old fangled gps where it knows the the routes and it's it's it knows the quickest way to get there but it doesn't account for things like wreckage and um and and storms and things like that that happen on the fly so it'll just keep sailing oh my upgrade to ios 10 come on it does right look it's not like the eladrin have had time to work on it recently do you think the yalanda can transform into a submarine imagination yes the big thing is obviously you don't want to capsize that's going to be your chief concern um and there are there are two major concerns is one um rough seas uh things like tidal waves you know the kind of thing that if it were to hit the broad side of the ship you all could go over or worst case scenario the entire ship capsizes and you just everything is dumped and then your best case scenario after that you survive that initial fall into the water and then you're just in the middle of the ocean the other the other thing that can happen is much like when you were riding in uh when you're riding into the bay um remember you got struck by lightning and you you lost your your main sail and all that stuff so a lot of things could happen bad bad things how long do we have until the storm hits where we are or till we reach the storm so i imagine this is a thing where where koi's just kind of like like just can can sort of like pick up the you know the motion of the air and like just like that that feeling the humidity all that stuff and um sort of act like like weather equipment uh in in this in this particular um it it's it's a couple of hours away you'll you like within the next hour you'll see the the storm clouds like on the horizon like you'll you'll know it okay so um so so maybe calding will just continue and say um well we'll we should prepare ourselves but perhaps there's a way that we can utilize the other crew here put them on the front line so to speak instead of keeping them in the dark caldin we were threatened by these men by their leader and we were forced to bring them aboard our ship i have no intentions of warning or anything anything like that i expect these men to sink i have no love lost for them if they fall into the ocean but they might be able to help all of us stay alive so you want to warn them i want to have them be up here manning the sails making sure that their precious cargo isn't lost in the storm and if one or two of them is taken by the sea or even their precious box so be it as long as all of us stay safe i i suppose you're right all right do it do what you need to do i'll speak with kalis i'll let him know that a storm is on the horizon and that if his journey is to not be interrupted him and his men will assist us in any way they can to keep this boat afloat and if dagon has nothing else to say caldin will give a little nod and then uh try and find kalis oh he wouldn't be hard to find uh he'd be he'd be standing still at the front of the ship just sort of looking out looking out into the water um so caldin will sort of like limp up to him and like sort of um not tumble but or maybe so maybe maybe the boat rocks a little bit and he just like boom like falls onto the the side of the boat next to him and uh and he looks out um with and doesn't even look at kalis but he looks out to the horizon and he goes can you see what's coming he's gonna he's gonna look over to caldin what are you talking about you don't feel that you can you can feel it in the air and see it in the sea and he's going to he's gonna pause he's gonna pause and just sort of try to pick up on try to pick up on what caldin's saying i don't feel anything i thought as much and caldin's going to point out towards the horizons and say out there a storm a storm is a brewing bigger than anything i think your crew has ever seen bigger than anything our crew has ever seen and if you are to keep to your word that we are not to be interfered with then we will need your men to keep this ship calm through the storm we cannot take any chances going around it that will take too long agreed i'll let my men know we will need all of you up here we will need you helping to man the sails we will need you possibly helping to bail out water and when i say all your men i mean all of your men and he's gonna look over to the like four that are just been like sitting by the box he's gonna narrow his eyes at keldon if we sail into a storm they'll assist us not before and he's gonna step forward just a bit and if this is some sort of trick well let's just hope this isn't some sort of trick it's no trick i assure you i mean how could we control the laws of nature this is the sea it is unpredictable and it is dangerous and it is why you are with us because we can get through it and we will get all of you through it provided that you just keep your word and then he's gonna like just a little bit we can't do what we gotta do if we're all dead right so like i said we'll help out but let's not play innocent there's a lot of my men who saw what you did when you arrived in brightport that was you right big glaciers coming around your boat as you pulled into port still name me some bullshit about not being able to control nature okay and calden will just give him a nod and say be ready when captain dagon calls out the orders we'll be ready about an hour is gonna go by everyone roll perception for me yes finally wow yeah all right this is more like it guys too busy vomiting yeah yeah that's exactly what's happened so up ahead the most massive set of black roiling storm clouds this crew this group has ever seen we're talking far as the eye can see gray choppy seas and you're gonna start to feel it as as you ride in where it was where it was very calm and and you guys are just jetting along right you can you can kind of feel where the water's getting a little choppier and the boats kind of bouncing up and down just a little bit just jostling nothing too bad yet but you can just feel the difference it's like okay and up ahead you're gonna see lightning striking and uh you're you're gonna be able to hear it it's it's it's it takes a while but you're gonna hear that thunder this this is poop your pants scary this is this is bad and you are sailing directly toward it so much so that if if you were to change direction now you probably would not be able to avoid at least the the outer edge of this i think okay no i was just gonna say i think maybe now is a good time to uh let the lu on to know that the sails should go up does it do that automatically that's that's more you that's that's more yeah um okay maybe it's time to start barking orders then okay um well sails up for one thing um and when you say that actor on this will like repeat your words louder sails up for certain down the hatches railings will be visibly a set every time actor onus gets to repeat the orders really you are my master thief braylon you are my master team i think uh since this is technically a non-combat encounter i'm going to huddle up around us i guess as a group right and use inspire competence on all of us you and ally in the burst choose a skill technically right now the black hand crew are allies ah bastard we've been there before yeah we did that once hey oh no it doesn't matter whatever fucking who cares we they need to get us they need to get us out of here alive technically right you're all gonna work together to not die okay well i'm not giving them health i'm gonna athletics we always need that yeah you know what yeah well we have cori now no we're gonna need it all right everybody i'm gonna uh gather or gotta gather all of us and sing eye of the tiger oh nice and everyone's gonna get plus two power bonus to their next encounter or the next uh athletics check i'm gonna park it right here thanks thank you okay um and if we're giving this to all the black hit and if we're giving this all to the black hand we have to remember that we considered them allies for this encounter not like last time when we're like halfway through can we take away the buffs we can i learned from experience i know how to remove the buff now yes murder them yeah we killed them just toss them over um when people start like uh activating starting to prepare and everything uh karonis will retreat to the i guess downstairs whatever that's called below deck the below deck uh there's no rooms or anything right it's just open um it's it's not quite it's not completely open it's sort of quartered off and stuff no doors really or anything okay except for the the captain's quarters type thing cool it all got refurbished so yeah it's true oh yeah we have oh yes yeah we have real world we do yeah yeah it's like a farm there's probably like a room with like bunks or something yeah like placed in okay i'll go in the in the first mate's quarters uh basically he's gonna remove his uh his armor completely uh and take like the most ample clothes well not maybe the most ample but like ample clothes and something like a cloak something that can cover his head to both like protect from the the rain and cover his face as best as he can but at this point it's like hey they got secret we got ours so uh right and the armor is way too inconvenient so um right yeah he's gonna he's gonna go uh armorless for this all right anyone else want to do anything before the storm well i was kind of joking about tying tying down but is that i think that like i should like i can't think of anything other than just like i guess i guess calden would like to go to like maybe the safest place that he could be i suppose that is an option by the way like that is something sailors used to do like back in the day like if you're holding on to you would tie yourself to like you tie yourself to the wheel to make sure that you you be able to to steer the ship like i mean like you can mother say yeah yeah mother and that you have railings that you can like attach yourself yeah yeah railings kind of almost got me killed last time well okay here's the thing it it yeah like they will help in in in trying to not have you fall off the side of the ship but if a bad enough wave comes along you know i mean if that's yourself to the railings like to anything yeah okay but i want to the thing is i want to be sure that especially for myself because i think i'm not the fastest i don't think speed wise on the group but i know that i can get into places sometimes that others would not be able to i guess i'm trying to say it might mix the starrities okay right yeah so let's say you have like 50 feet of rope you tie yourself like in the middle of the ship yeah that's what i guess 100 100 foot like a diameter okay i think i was yeah i probably the wheel so they could help out wherever needed because i think i'm next actor onus with the armor on i'm the second most liable to fly off this fucking boat oh calden could freeze everybody's feet on the boat like up to the we're gonna get sick we're gonna get colds wow diseases well it might come to that it might come to that um but yeah i think colin would tie some tie down somewhere too just like i i don't know the mast something somewhere one of the last that's a good bet yeah yeah same here yeah the picture a lot of rigging a lot of like there's lots of lots of rope lots of like that like there's places to tie yourself off all the time and the only the only the only detriment to that is that if something happens and you need to cross the ship like get get somewhere in a hurry that could really slow that's a good point okay so uh so so instead of tying he's gonna like loop an arm like through some rope or something like that that's what it'll be that's what it'll be he'll uh he'll he'll like loop his arm around some rope to like okay i'll fight around my waist because i mean my waist is the size of a regular person's arm so yeah i'll do the waist too because it's probably the most solid part less less chance to take the land away yeah less less less crumbly cookie more solid yeah yeah got it you guys feel like you're prepped now you ready um yeah i don't know what else we can do i pray a little bit more spells uh a glimpse of future oh shit you're right sorry that's probably a good idea yeah would you like to do glimpse the future i definitely would love to glimpse the future real quick right close my eyes imagine every possible alcove here we go that's good that's a 15 what oh that's a three if we die in that feature okay we die in two 15 yeah raylan closes eyes and sees one feature where the boat comes out all heroically through the storm and he's at the front of the boat like one leg up captain morgan style the sun behind him and he's pointing forward and after all this he's behind him like crying because he's not the first mate anymore i was just gonna say that and dana's like you're my first mate now that's a pretty good 15 and the three the boat immediately just flips over and we all die and then the nine brayden gets struck by lightning spins off the top of the boat and a shark just jumps up eats him and takes him into a whirlpool geez that's worse than the three it's a much more creative death though time is going to pass and this water is going to get choppier and choppier and the ship is going to bounce up and down and every once in a while it's going to come down and sort of hit awkwardly as water splashes and mists the crew this wind is going to get more and more severe you're gonna you're gonna feel it just it's gonna be the it's gonna be the the kind of wind where it hits you and you're like oh shit like you have to you don't normally have to steady yourself or or sort of push against the wind and you're gonna you're gonna feel that there is an unbridled power about this and you forget you forget how intense nature can be until you you kind of are at its mercy and you're going to see some pretty huge waves coming up like sort of just sort of come up crash down and they're they're they're in the distance a bit and you're going to feel the rain start and at first it's it's just sort of just for the first few seconds it's just sort of pop pop pop pop pop and it's just it's going to start to hit you almost horizontally and it is going to sting your face that is how that is how hard this is coming down just it is it is just almost as if nature's just sort of aggressively punching you with water over and over again just stinging raindrops and the wind is going to kick up every once in a while and just sort of hit you in the face causing you to squint or close your eyes completely it's just that intense and i think it's a good time for us to stop for the night now the next time we sit down i i'm gonna warn you all right now this is gonna be the most aggressive skill check challenge i think i've ever thrown at this group i already did like three of these i know this is this is probably going to be the most aggressive this is a lot of things are going to have to go right for you guys to come out the other end and nothing bad happened just remember guys all that plus two to athletics i'm just putting that in my notes and you got a 15 glimpse of you team where i'm in the front how you guys how you guys feeling about your odds it's gonna noticed it's it's dude it's something that's almost happened to you several times like my third or second episode on the show let me just go rescue craig real quick for being drug away that's another thing that almost happens to oh shit that's right the plant thing yeah fucking lord of the rings i should never have come here yeah so um gonna be fun though yeah what do you guys think is in the box i think it's a person oh my god i think it's a person too yeah you think it's a person yeah i think it's a person it's a little and jason said it was a godly magic i think it's another trap could also be like a powerful like artifact or something that's what i'm thinking yeah i was shaped like a coffin but yeah maybe like that's just coffin size yeah exactly maybe we stuck a little bit too much on we've got bigger fish to fry and we're making sure that they don't get to uh tessia by doing the whole thing i mean i think it's the arc of the covenant that's what i think don't look directly at it
