From the director of Mr. and Mrs. Smith and The Bourne Identity comes a new film. It's your first job? I know what I'm doing. I'm a little late for a crit change. Starring Matt Damon. Everybody in New England is after us. And Casey Affleck. Go, go, go, go, go! What are you doing? Taking notes. Taking notes on a criminal conspiracy. The Instigators, rated R. Streaming August 9th on Apple TV+. This summer, during the biggest sporting event of the year, Peacock turns to two broadcasting legends for the Olympics coverage you can't find anywhere else.
Um, I think they mean us. Oh, s***. Um... [clears throat] With an incredible duo sure to take home the comedy gold. Olympic Highlights with Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson. New episodes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Only on Peacock. When last we left our heroes, it appeared that they were completely outfitted for the newly arrived zombie apocalypse. Now, let's join them as they finish dispatching the throng of undead that attacked their home. Man, now that we have these battle-ready weapons and armor from Museum Replicas Limited, zombie hunting sure is a breeze.
I just wish there was something we could do to spice things up and feel even cooler. Yeah, that'd be cool. Anyway, I guess we should start looking for a water supply. At Museum Replicas Limited, there are hundreds of awesome jewelry and accessories that are sure to make us feel like the cool kids we are. But where would we find... Is that another closet? Where did that come from? Don't ask questions! You're hurting the immersion. Now, answer me this. If you could be anything right now, what would you want to... Princess. Perfect. Here. This is a sparkling Renaissance-style tiara encrusted with crystals and rich filigree.
It's called Guinevere's Tiara, and it's absolutely stunning. I'll be the princess of the zombie people. And I'm just going to grab this awesome Templar cape made with the heaviest and most elegant fabrics Museum Replicas Limited has to offer. Is this because of your Superman fetish? No, it's not because of my Superman fetish. Jason, what's that? Oh, dear God. That's the biggest swarm of zombies I've ever seen. It looks like this is our final battle. Well, that's a little presumptuous, don't you think? There could be zombies right around the corner, and it's not like we'd really know.
The final battle. Let's do it! It would appear that the final fight has arrived. Do our heroes stand a chance? Find out next week. Until then, you can get 10% off of your order at museumreplicas.com by simply using the code THERIA10. That's THERIA10. And now, on with the show. Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason. I'm the Dungeon Master. Going around the table, start with Jamie. Hi there, I'm Jamie, and I play Kori, Forest Keeper, a goliath seeker. And James. Hey, it's James. I play Dagon, Arkenscape, the Aladdin, and Sion.
And Susan. Hey, I'm Susan. I play Eryla of Goodness, the Tiefling Invoker. And Alex. Hey, I'm Alex, and I play Brelin, the Halfling Bard. I don't want to use my last name. And Xavier. Hey, I'm Xavier, and I play Actoronist, the Revenant Cleric. And last, and certainly not least, Ian. I'm Ian, and I play Khaldun Halak, the Half-Elf Sorcerer. Your favorite. Maybe your favorite? Maybe your favorite. Stay tuned. You'll find out at the end. Guys, stay tuned at the end of the program to find out who your half-elf favorite is. The answer may surprise you. Last time on the show, you guys finally left the mainland.
You are officially in DNR canon the first group to ever leave the mainland in search of a new continent. And you are cast off. You're done. You're leaving. You're on your way. You boarded the Elionda with several members of the Black Hands crew. And they brought aboard this mysterious crate and are keeping it in the bowels of the ship. Guarded by four of those really large Ebony Guard dudes who you don't know a whole lot about them, what they're carrying, or anything to do with that. But you do know that they're going where you're going, and then that pretty much ends your little partnership.
So everyone basically has a vested interest in not dying while aboard the ship. So you are partners of convenience, which is a good thing. Because to close out last session, I had you roll some dice. And you guys are about to encounter the largest storm any group has ever encountered, which comes with it the largest skill check challenge that any group has ever had to face. Now, before we get started with that, I want to first wish each and every one of you the very best of luck. All the luck in the world, seriously. I think you're all phenomenal role players, and no matter what happens in today's session, I know it's going to be an amazing show, and you guys are going to do your very best.
So... That's a goodbye if I ever knew it. Do we get to come back even if our character is just going on? Yes, absolutely. Everyone here, you're coming back. It'll just be a different incarnation in season two. Do you not like us any? I love you guys! That's why I can't baby you. I can't. It's Malin. Come on, Bagon. We gotta get out there. Bagon. Laurie. You've been back to Bronis. Flairalove. Did we never mention the fourth Grimnast sibling? Have we never done that? The parasitic twin. Wow. Okay. You guys are about to do a skill check challenge. Now, in a moment, I'm going to ask for every single one of you to get ready and roll initiative.
At the end of each round, two things are going to happen. One, Black Hand crew are going to roll, and it's going to be a saving throw. Obviously, if they succeed, it'll be a plus two to any checks that you guys make for the remainder of the next round. So that's basically simulating them running around the ship, helping you out wherever they can. If they fail, that'll be a negative one to any checks. Basically, them blundering around, not being helpful or trying to take something away from you to help, quote unquote. And just them getting in the way. After that, I'm going to roll for the storm, and something will happen as a result.
And you'll kind of see I'll be rolling a d10, and I have a list of things here. So it'll be a complication. It'll just be a twist, each and every round. Your objective is to get 12 successes before six failures. Well! What? Or else what? This ship sucks. We get to go to the elemental plane of water. Before we start, can I do something? You absolutely can. I would like to use glimpse of the future. You did use glimpse of the future. Did I? Yeah, you have a 15. Okay, good. I don't want to use that. Okay, cool. You're also rocking a plus two to all athletic checks for the remainder of the encounter.
Anybody using an athletics check? You get a plus two to that stuff. I did all this already, though. Yes, you did. I'm not a straight man. You're on the ball, man. All right, okay. If anybody else would like to do anything before we... You all have a plus one to diplomacy, so... Remember that? Actually, that seriously might come in handy. Oh yeah, those little assholes downstairs. Not shitting. There's some stuff. Now, I'm going to be... Depending on where you are on the ship, I'm going to be giving you options. There is a wide variety of stuff. Everything from diplomacy, nature, perception, endurance, athletics, acrobatics, all kinds of stuff.
It'll run the gamut. Every one of you will be tested... Excuse me. Every one of you will be tested in some fields. Some of you will be trained in that, some of you won't be. It'll just be depending on where you are, what's happening at the time, what the storm is doing, where the rest of the crew is, all that stuff. So sometimes it'll be, "Hey, here are your options," and you'll just have to take the best one. Sometimes it'll be, "Hey, here are your options." Like, "I've got this no matter what." Now, you'll also have the opportunity to position yourself on the ship in different ways.
Now, at the beginning of each round, I'm going to have you all roll an acrobatics check. As long as you get an 18 or higher, there will be no negative penalty. Anything lower than an 18 and you'll get a negative 2 to your next check. That's every single person, every single turn for the remainder of this storm. You can also do something like climb the mast, which would give you a plus to nature and perception. But you're still subjected to the same acrobatics check to stay aloft. If you don't pass that and you're up there, if you fail by more than 5, you're going to tumble out of that and hit the deck and take some damage and get a negative.
Gotcha. Okay? Why would we be up there, though? So one of the things you can do, and again, you can assist Dagon steering the ship by climbing the-- You can do it from the deck, too, but you can roll a nature check or perception to try and spot breaks in the storm and steer the ship toward where the storm is doing less damage, basically. Everyone will be able to help out in some way. That sound good? Yes. Mm-hmm. Yep. Yes. Okay. Are there any questions before we start? Can I-- It's not really a question. It's more of a suggestion for the group. Sure. Should we maybe stick in sort-- not in pairs, but should we maybe try to stay close to each other if possible so that if somebody falls overboard, we can, like-- Oh, that's a good idea.
You know what I mean? Like a buddy system. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Like, can we, like, buddy system this up to make sure that nobody goes flying? Yes. Yeah. Because I know that I specifically didn't tie myself to the ship for that reason because I want to make sure that I can grab somebody if they-- Whoa. I'm not sure if anybody canonically actually tied theirself up to the ship. I know that it was brought up. I believe Calvin might have? I mentioned it on the last episode. Yeah, a bunch of us did. Looping armor around. Yeah, I think I tied myself too. Yeah, I did not. Yeah, I think Braylon did.
Yeah, I did. Yeah, I'm pretty sure Braylon did. I remember mentioning I had, like-- I tied myself around the waist because it was the most solid-- Yeah, that's true. -- portion of my body. You also took off your armor. Yep, that's true. Yep, yep, yep. All right. Oh, and I do have Thundering Summons. I use it once per encounter. I teleport an ally to a space adjacent to me, so if you stay with Antennami and fall off. But if I fall off, where should I look? All right. I think knowing that, Corey would probably stick by Dagon. Okay. If everyone but Erolove is tied to the ship, and it's just me, Erolove, and Dagon not tied to the ship, then, yeah, she would be-- Okay, yeah.
My reasoning was if I do fall over, I can probably teleport back on. Yeah, me too. Okay. Because I have the cape. If I hurt myself, like, I have to take out a dagger and teleport back on. Dagon, you have phase step. It's you and me, Erolove. We're back to back. Okay. And I did position myself next to there because I saw ropes on the ground, so maybe I'm just, like, loosely grabbing them. I know I did it so I tied myself up, but maybe I could just grab them or something. There will be an opportunity to do things like that. Now, I want to make things perfectly clear that Acrobatics check you're doing at the beginning of your turn, that will neither help nor hurt the success/failure thing.
That doesn't count for the Skill Check challenge. That is just a personal thing. The rest of it, what you do formally on your turn, that will count. So there will be a bunch of different options and things. So are we ready? Are we feeling good? We got this. Let's do this. Wish you guys luck. Everybody, do me a favor, roll initiative. Not bad. Not bad. I don't remember where initiative is. I'm dumb. Main page. Main page. Bottom right. Range initiative. Melee. Got it. Alright, so it's going to be Corey, Dagon, Aral of Braille and Acheron, Kaladin, then the Black Hand crew, then the Storm.
And everybody is positioned on the ship where you'd like to be positioned, correct? Yes. I think so, yeah. Alright. Okay, so here we go. Corey, do you want to move anywhere or is this where you want to be right now? This is where I want to be right now. Okay, so to start, there's a couple of different options you could do. You could roll Perception or Nature check to try and spot a break in the Storm and help Dagon steer the ship. Or at least give him like, it's like over there, over there, that type of thing. Or right now, there are three loose ropes on the ship.
And the problem with that is these are big, heavy, thick ropes and the wind is going to take them and they could potentially hurt the crew eventually. So tying these ropes off is going to be essential. Right now, there are three of them sort of loose on the ship. One of them is near you. I'll place them on the map right now. Okay, so that's where they are on the ship right now. Okay. Now, before you do anything, I would like you to roll an Acrobatics check for me. 21! That succeeds, you're fine to take your turn. No penalties at all. Cool. Are we, is the Storm just starting now?
Yeah, it's, you guys have sailed into this thing. So to paint a picture, when last we left off, you're just hitting the edge of the Storm, so rain, wind, and the longer you're in this, it's just sort of like heavy rain, almost horizontal, just kind of stinging your eyes, pelting you. And there are gusts of wind so bad that you're, like, if it were to catch someone the wrong way, it could just like blow you over, just completely knock you down. And what you see in front of you is just pitch black clouds, like this, it seems like for as far as the eye can see, sometimes the sea itself is forming a wall that is just, you can't even see over it.
And you're kind of worried about one of these hitting the broad side of the ship, and if that were to happen, there'd definitely be some problems. Okay. I think with the position that Kori's chosen on the ship, and knowing her strengths, she's going to try to find a break in the Storm, as opposed to trying to get these ropes under control right now. Okay. Now, do you want to try and climb the mast, or do you just want to do it from the deck? She would honestly probably want to try to stick close. Close to Dagon? To Dagon, so she's going to do it from where she's at, and then maybe if it doesn't work, she'll, on her next turn, go up on the mast.
All right, do me a favor, roll a nature check. Okay. Hmm. So, in the midst of these just terrible black storm clouds, there's going to be a patch that looks just a little lighter gray, and it's like Kori's going to just kind of judge the wind and be able to pick up, okay, over there, over there, and just sort of point to Dagon right there, try to get the ship to go in that direction. And that is one success, guys. She will definitely-- Yes! Sorry, I couldn't let that thought go. Okay, sorry. Do you want to tell everybody? Oh, okay. I just realized, so we have the buddy system, Kaladin and Airlove are buddies, so it's fire and ice sticking together till the end.
It's icy hot, baby. What? Internet high five. Man, if only the Loving Intheria wasn't Tamara, that would be the perfect combination. There's still time. There's a lot of actor-on-us Dagon, Yulan fanfic. A lot of it? There's a couple of them. There's a couple of them. There's two or three. All right. There's also a lot of Theo in there. On some. Yeah. I hope it's all taste. Yeah. Yeah. Dagon. Yes. Do me a favor, roll an acrobatics check. That's not good. Oh, that is going to be a negative one to whatever check you make. Missed it by that much. So this is just going to be, just the wind is just a little bit too much and you're just like, almost like that mime walk thing.
Like, whoa, whoa, okay. You're just, you're just trying to steady yourself. Now, right now, you can use an athletics check to steer the ship. You can, you can even use a diplomacy check right now if you want to try and bolster the crew, just like, I know this looks bad type of thing and just, just try and just try and talk them up a little bit because you, sir, are their captain. So that is a right you have. And you can also try and break away and tie one of these, one of these ropes down if you wanted to. And that's what's true. That's an athletics check.
But it's a low. To tie a rope on this is really low. Yeah. I guess we have a plus two on athletics. And you get a plus one for diplomacy from, from Caltech. Plus two. I checked. Oh, it's a plus two to diplomacy. Yeah, it's actually a check. Plus two. But really it's a plus one because you... Plus one on anything. Yeah. Okay, so that would, yeah, honestly, my best bet would do an athletics check, which I'm a plus five and I'd get a plus seven, I guess, with the... Oh, man. Okay. I will attempt to tie off the rope then. How do I add two here? So you would basically be moving right here.
Do me a favor. Roll an athletics check with a plus one. Plus one. Yeah, because Brailin gave you a plus two, but you're taking a negative one thanks to... Oh, yeah. Okay. So you still, it's athletics plus one. And it's a low check. Oh. Okay. Anyway, so I get a 15. 15. In the midst of this rain and wind and just these terrible conditions, Dagon is going to try and tie off this rope. But just as he's finishing the knot, the wind is just going to take it from his hands and just sort of like whip around. And he's going to do one D10 damage today. Beautiful. So that's four damage today.
And that'll be your first failure. Yay. Sorry, guys. Those ropes are going to be the end of us. It's not the end. Arrow love. Okay. I feel like the rope that's like right in front of me is going to be a problem. I am not athletic at all. But... You get a plus two. Until I try moving. Do me a favor. Roll an acrobatics check first. See? Oh, shit. Wait. That has plus two. So minus two. I'm sorry. I was messing around with the modifier. That's okay. That's going to be low anyway. So a negative one to your next check. So that's still a plus one if you decide to go with that.
It's going to become a problem. So I'm stepping away. Bye, Kalton. So braving this wind, just stepping away from the mast here. Arrow love is going to try and tie this rope off. Do me a favor. Roll an athletics check. I have the plus one this time. I did it correctly. No, I did not. I did not do it correctly. I should not do this. Oh. 1d10 damage to arrow love. So that's two damage. That's not bad. The two damage is not what I'm worried about. I'm trying to make you feel better here. That is the second failure. That is one success, two failures. Is anybody trained in athletics?
Nope. No one. Oh, this is just great. All right, athletics. I got a pretty good bonus to athletics. I'm going to give you other options too if you want to wait. There's usually other options depending on where you're standing on the ship. Also, you guys have action points. Just want to throw that out there. If you're like, no, no, I want to take another stab at this, action points are available. Would that count as two failures if you fell twice? Or are you trying to recuperate your failed attempt? It would basically be trying to recuperate the failed attempt.
Okay. That's good to know. That's why I'm saying something now. Yeah. So, Arrow love? Oh, uh, yeah. You want to try it? Okay. Yeah, we're one third of the way to failing. That's a way to look at it. But another way to look at it is not that. [laughter] Okay. I... Denial. I mean, I already failed, so if I fail again, like, it already happened. So, that can be double the fail. You can't fail twice at the same thing. Basically, it's like, the thing, it may hit you again. But, um, I won't count it as a failure. Two damage. I get to take more damage. Yeah. Oh! Fuck. Okay, well...
I really was not supposed to do anything. [laughter] Oh, that's a nine. So that's... That's making up for the two. Okay, but it's not another failure. Raylan. Sorry, guys. No, don't be sorry. You tried. There's not... What the fuck is happening right now? [laughter] Like, we're... We're gonna fail the skill challenge, whether we're all just gonna be dead on, like, a safe ship. Because of the rope bull whipping us. Can Braylan inspire all of us too? 'Cause he's kind of our inspiring guy. What do you have to inspire there, Braylan? I can sing them a really good song.
I can sing them some fucking... What is it? Pirate metal. You know what? Mm. If you wanna... I'll allow that shit. Okay, I'm gonna give you a list of options, and then I'm gonna throw in diplomacy on top of that to try and bolster the crew. Now... Okay. You can only do that twice for the entire encounter. The diplomacy thing. It's like, "I know it looks bad!" Just, yeah. Whatever. You can do that. And that will... Okay, I would say because you've already had two failures, that's gonna be a slightly tougher... That's a moderate check right there. That's gonna be in the middle.
That's not gonna be the easiest thing in the world. Okay. Right next to you. You're right next to one of the masts, and one of those... It's basically one of the sails. One of the ropes controlling those is loose. So you don't have anything beyond your raw grit and determination to try and hold that in place. So you can also use an endurance check to try and fix that. You can also try and use nature or perception to help out, Corey and Dagon, considering you're near the wheel. But first, I want you to do me a favor and roll an acrobatics check. I... Got this.
Oh! That's a nat 20, ladies and gentlemen. Because that's a nat 20, I'm gonna give you a plus... Let me see. You are sitting... That's another plus one on top of whatever you got rocking right now. So, yeah. So that's a plus one to whatever you decide to do. Oh my god. Alright. The rope is loose next to me. Mm-hmm. That's for the mast. Dagon is getting slapped in the face by ropes. Yes. I think I should inspire people. I think I should inspire people. Yeah. Let's do that. So let me tell you what's gonna happen. Sure. Again, this is a moderate check. I'm gonna have you roll diplomacy.
If you pull it off, that's a success. If you pull it off with five higher than what you need for the check, I'm gonna give everybody a plus two to whatever they roll. Oh, shit. How long? Just for the next one? Until the end of the next round. Okay. Cool. So not the end of this round. Not the end of this round. The end of next round. No matter what happens. Okay. The check is 22. Okay. I have a 15 in the books, right? I believe so. Alright. Let's fucking do it. Roll him with a plus one. Is this diplomacy? Yep. Oh, you don't get the... You get all the bonus. I get a plus two.
Yeah, you get a plus two. You don't fucked up, Jason. Because I have. Exactly. 16. I didn't add any of the modifiers to that. No, you're fine. 24, right? That is a success. You are going to bolster the hearts of your fellow crew members. Even the Black Hand guys are a little like, "Okay, yeah, we can do this." Because it's not looking great. I'm going to be honest. This is looking pretty out of control already. You guys are just... The ropes are beating us. Yeah, it's bad. The ropes are beating us. The big ropes. The big ropes? Oh, these are big, thick, heavy. Like, if you've ever seen rigging on a ship, this is big, thick stuff.
Like, this is meant to stand up to storms and weather, which is good, usually, except when they're hitting the crew. That's a bad thing. Back to Ronis. Alright. We've got to take care of some of those ropes. Okay, that is an option. I'm going to look at Brelin and shout from across the boat, "Well said, second first mate!" I'm going to shout back, "You asshole!" And I'm going to go for the rope. So acrobatics first. Acrobatics. Well... That's going to be... Okay, negative one. Okay. Or negative... I'm sorry, negative two. Less okay. Less okay. But I'm bolstered, so zero.
Zero! You even out. Cool. And I guess, yeah, I'll just go straight for the rope. Alright. Try to tie it to something. And I assume this is athletics? Athletics, check. Alright. See what you got. Oh... Nineteen? Do you want me to give you the fifteen? Oh, well, you gave us plus two to every athletics, right? Yeah. Okay, so I would be at twenty-one. No, that would be zero, because... Oh, zero. You don't get anything. It's up to you. You can wait for the result. You can wait for the result or take the fifteen. I'm gonna wait for the result. Right. And then see if I take an action point.
Okay. Acronis is going to fumble with this rope. Again, right at the front of the ship. Just take it, just to beat it. No armor. It's getting nasty. But he is going to successfully tie this rope off. And that is no longer a threat to the crew, so we will take this one off of books. So congratulations. Three successes, two failures, guys. You need nine more successes or four more failures to wrap this up. Alright, we're back. We're back on track. And that will bring up Kaladin. Kaladin, you can either assist Air Love with that rope that's giving a hell of a lot of problem.
You can help Braelon with that mast and use an endurance check. You can use a nature, because you're pretty tapped into nature too, and try to find a way through this storm. What would it be to help Air Love? Would that be athletics or endurance? But it's a lower check, because it's just tying off a rope. You're not lifting anybody up or anything like that. Okay. Well, should I get this acrobatics check out of the thing? You absolutely should. I guess that will kind of affect what your decision might be. Oh, you're good. You're good. No penalty for you. I think Kaladin seeing Air Love struggling with the rope would go over and assist her or try and help her with it.
After it bitch-slapped me twice? Yeah, it's like, "Super suit!" He's like, "No! Stop!" Okay, so here's athletics. I don't know how to add the modifiers, so I'm just going to do it with math. Do it? Twenty-five. With some assistance, the two of you will tie this rope off, and that will be your fourth success. It is no longer a danger to the crew. I will remove it from the map. Four successes, two failures. I was so worried about that one. Kaladin is not strong at all. It's funny, because you're the one who gets seasick, but you're the highest acrobatics check.
Still makes the points. Still really good. And the runs. He strides confidently over to Air Love. Guys, that brings up the Black Hand crew. So here's what we're going to do. I am going to roll a flat d20. Ten or higher, and they are going to give you guys a plus two to all rolls until they get to roll again. However, if they fail this little saving roll, it's a negative one. You guys ready? Are they ready? I am. Here we go. That is a plus two, ladies and gentlemen. The Black Hand crew snap into action, and they are going to help with rigging. They're going to try and tie off loose ropes.
They're going to just push, pull, grunt wherever they're needed, and try to keep this ship afloat. Now, that brings up the storm. I'm going to roll a flat d10, and I have a list of things that could possibly happen based on this roll. I will tell you that you guys are going to be hoping for higher rolls. Are we ready? I imagine Dagon too, like, "Callus, now's the time! Get your men in gear!" What's the classic, like a tied to the mast captain shouting at the storm? I think it's the Forest Gump. Oh, yeah, Forest Gump. Is that the best you've got? Just shouting at God himself?
I have a vague image in my mind. We're going to get so much shrimp out of this. Oh my God, so much shrimp? So much. I love shrimp. This is a shrimping boat, right? That is our quest, right? It's a shrimping slash party boat. Here we go. Ten! What? What? That's going to give you another plus two to all checks for the rest of the next round. Guys, that is a plus four. Plus six. No, wait. Well, Brailin did the song. Brailin did the song, so that's a plus six to your rolls, guys. Plus six to athletics, right? Plus four to everything else. No, he inspired us. He inspired everybody.
Yeah, that was plus two. So if we do athletics, we get plus eight? Yeah. Oh my gosh. I can only account for two plus twos, but I'm believing plus eight. I'm writing them all down because I don't have Microsoft... I didn't have Microsoft Word, but I lost all my data, so I have a pen and paper. Two to athletics, two to were inspired. Two to the storm. Two that you just gave us. Two for the black hand. Oh, and the black hand. Oh, of course. I'm sorry. This could not be going back. This, okay, it was looking bleak. So let me paint a picture. This shit was looking very bleak.
When the storm starts hitting and everybody's like... I imagine there's that moment where it's like, "What the fuck?" And everyone's just trying to get their bearings. And then there's that adrenaline surge that kicks in. And you guys realize and understand the gravity of the situation. And if you don't work together, you could all die. And that is the moment where everyone just kicks in and just is laser focused. That brings up cool. Okay. Just to clarify, the ship can steer itself, right? Yeah, it's going to try and... Okay. So I guess she will attempt to help Dagon because how can I not use all...
Exactly. If he's getting whipped in the face. [laughter] Now, to clarify, the ship can steer itself and it will find the most direct route to Talur. Now, if there's wreckage or something in the way or something comes up that isn't an island or something that was pre-existing, that's when someone would have to take the wheel and try to avoid that. Otherwise, the ship will steer right through it. Just like last time. Yep. You weren't here for the last time. [laughter] Yeah. The Tesla autopilot doesn't work too well on this boat. It's a G1. They were working out the kinks.
The Elijah never got to make a G2. So... So, Corey, do me a favor. We'll roll an acrobatics check. Okay. And do I get any pluses to that? The acrobatics check, you're going to get a plus six. Six. A six. So I'll put that in here. So you'd have to roll really... Oh, you're fine. Yeah. Stare at us. Can I get some of that? Stare at us. You want to get the extra? Corey's the most athletic of the group, isn't she? Yeah. Yeah, by far. So steady as a rock. Like, fucking, she's fine. Is there a storm happening? Like, I don't understand. Why are you guys flinching like that? It's weird.
Stop it. [laughter] So now to hope. Do me a favor. Athletics check with a plus eight. You would have to beat this really hard. Why did you have to say that? Now I'm going to get that one. No! You're not. [groans] But still. Corey is going to do her best with this rope. Oh no. And try to tie this off. And she is just barely going to succeed in helping Dagon to tie this off. That is another success. [groans] That makes five. That is no longer a threat. You have tied off all the loose ropes, guys. That is no longer a danger to the crew. You will no longer be pistol whipped.
That does eliminate the easier checks on the ship, though. So we'll see how the rest of this goes. That will bring up Dagon. Side mission complete. Now Dagon, you could get back to the ship's wheel and you could use an athletics check to try and steer this to one of the destinations that Corey was talking about. It's like one of the patches of lighter gray. It's like, okay, it's not so bad there. Or you could help Braylon enroll an endurance check to try and pull up the mast there. You could do a diplomacy check because you get two of those to try and bolster the crew.
It's up to you. Athletics, I'd be getting a plus eight. Which I think Dagon needs. Dagon's not a very physical-- No, he would need that. So I think I'll take advantage of that while it's there. Okay. Back to the wheel. Roll athletics. That's with the--wow. Okay. Wait, wait. Do you want the 15? Um... Yeah. 15 or an action point. Well, it's up to you. Do you want to save that? I'm pretty good. I feel like that 15 should be for everyone else because the only weaknesses I have are big, but I know when not to. They're not going to come up in this one, I don't think. Okay.
If we fail, we're halfway to dying. So... Okay. Okay. I'll take it. Okay. Brailin gives Dagon the 15. Spirit Bomb, I give you my energy. [laughter] Nice. [exhales] Okay. It is very difficult to steer the ship in this storm and do it with any accuracy whatsoever, but Dagon is going to do his best. I'm going to do Brailin's best? Well, yes. Technically. He is just barely going to edge this ship toward the lighter gray clouds and position the ship into a better spot so that you aren't being pelted as bad. Hopefully, it's coming up. That will be another success. That is six.
You are halfway. You are halfway to surviving this storm and a third of the way to not survive this storm. Errolo? Thank you, Alex. You're welcome. That'll use up that 15. I marked it. It's gone forever. Okay. So... I am really good at perception, so how close would I have to be to Dagon to be like, "That's a good place to be"? To be able to communicate in this storm, I would say you'd have to be at least another two spaces closer. Okay. Well, I'll do Acrobatics just to get that out of the way. Plus six, right? Yep. Plus six and... we're rolling it. Yeah. That's fine.
You're good. Okay. And then two closer. These squares. Man. I know, right? It's just not very clear. Well, maybe I'll move, like, diagonal, so not near the edge. Perfect. Okay, and now... It's very clear in the water. It is. It's not. When you get to the ship, it's muddled. It's a mess. I'll just move to the water. It's cool. Yeah, just jump in the water. All right. I don't know if it matters at this point, but I didn't do my Acrobatics check. Oh, you didn't? Shit. You know what? Hmm. That would matter. We'll do something because we all forgot. I'll take the minus one next turn.
You sure? Yeah, I'll take it. Okay. Taking one for the team. Wow, look at you. What would I do without you? Whoa, I rolled a five. Yeah. Jesus Christ, Aaron. That's a good five. The strongest five I've ever seen. Yeah. That is a 29, and I rolled a five. Air love. Board guide us. Yeah, geez. No, Raven Queen. Come on, guys. You know me. There you go. We've got her. I know. She is guiding me right now. She's dying up ropes. Air love is going to blearily squint and be able to make out beyond these clouds. Okay, I think it thins out in that direction, which is just sort of just northwest, just sort of continuing where Corey set the path and just sort of point this out.
I'm guessing Dagon is just like, "Yep, sure." He can't see much. It's really difficult to see. It's all high-end signals. Yeah. That is another success, which brings you to seven. Seven successes, two failures, which brings up Raven, who is automatically taking a negative one. Yes. So I can do endurance on the rope in front of you? You can do endurance on the rope in front of you. Okay. Yeah, you could also do another diplomacy. Because at the end of this round, it's going to go away. Yeah. This rope is kind of dangerous, right? It could lead to something. We don't know yet.
Who's after me? actoronus. Yeah, it's me. You're too far. There's no way you're going to get over here. Because I feel like inspiring is still important. I got a good diplomacy I can try to inspire after. Okay. Where are you going to say, "Jason, I'm sorry." I need you to roll an academics check for me. Shit. It's actually like a plus five, right? Oh, plus five, yeah, because of the one. You're right. I'll do the one part. I appreciate it. And I'll roll it. Well, that's without the one part because I don't know how to do it. Oh, so... Thirty-four? Yeah, you're fine.
I think you got it. Yeah, you're fine. I'm doing the math and I'm like, "Why are we doing this math? This is just pointless math." Well, I feel like the mathematics check might increase as time goes on because the waters are crazier. Wait, we'll see. Yeah, see. Anything can happen. We'll see. All right, I'm going to try to tie the rope with my endurance, right? Okay, yeah. Just your little slide. What you're doing is you're basically using your weight to counteract this. It's like just you pulling. It's just you raw endurance. It's the best guy to do it, right?
Yeah, totally. Shortest, lightest. Hanging off the side of a cliff. Tied to the mast. Tied to the mast. This is a good idea. All right, so this is plus five because I lost one also. Okay. Thirty. Braven is going to do his very best. This is a very heavy rope and obviously in the storm it's tough to keep grip on it. These conditions are a lot more difficult. But he is going to almost lay horizontally while tugging on this and he is going to endure and that is another success. That is eight. Yeah. Well done. Woo. Woo woo. Guys. We're going to lose that plus two at the end of the round.
Four more successes. Mm-hmm. And you're going to get out of this alive. It's four to four now, I think. Yes. Actor on a certain turn. Do you want an acrobatics first? I do want an acrobatics first. Here's your acrobatics. Oh, yeah. My strong suit. That is going to be a negative two to whatever check you make. Plus six. With a, let's see, plus six. Nineteen. So it's two from-- You'll pass that. You'll be good. I'm sorry, I thought you did the math already. Oh. So you're good. No negative. Oh, okay. Cool. Can I try to use our second diplomacy attempt to inspire the people?
I, yes. Go right ahead. Nice. So you're just going to turn around to the crew and then look at the Black Hand people too and say, "We are doing great. Keep this up. Act fast, but stay composed." And so that's it. Plus six. Is plus eight too because of the cauldron? Is it up to plus eight? Yeah. Plus six and then plus two. All right. Yeah. Not about that. Okay. Again? Did you say again? Again what? No, I mean, yeah. Yeah. We're going to try diplomacy. Oh, okay. Cool. No, I'm on board. I'm waiting. And here we go. So that's 32 total. That is going to bolster the crew and just really, really build them up now.
That is nine successes, guys. As of now, the end of this round, you're going to lose the plus two that you were getting from Braylin and we're going to see if the Black Hand crew helps or hurts you right after Calvin's turn. You lose the plus two from Braylin, but we gain it from Actornis, right? No. The only reason you got the plus two is because of basically Braylin's powers. That's them kicking in. All right. Okay. Okay, so that's just a success. Okay, got it. Yeah, it's just a success. Yeah. Cool. Got it. Okay. Oh, no. Well, we don't lose it now, do we? No, it's after your turn.
Okay, okay. Yeah. All right. Uh, uh, Calvin looks out and what does he see? Pure hell. That's basically what it's in. What it looks like is nature itself deciding, nah, you're not doing this today. That's what you're seeing. That's, it is almost the physical embodiment of resistance. That's what this is. By all accounts, you should be dead by now. Like this is a small ship at sea. You're seeing massive, like 30, 40 foot waves going up and then just, you know, the ship itself is so far riding these waves, so it'll be, it'll just be these huge jostling, like going up and you'll feel that drop in your stomach like you're on a roller coaster.
Just sort of driving down hills like, oh God, like that, that constantly. And just, just disgusting wind that it is ridiculous. That's what it is. I imagine like, yeah, I imagine we're like seeing that thing where it's like you go up really high, like way too high up in the sea on, on a, on a crest of a wave and then you like go way down low and there's like water is towering over you. Like this is the most, like, I don't know how much Calvin has seen of the sea itself, but this is zero. Okay. Yeah. This is not a good first impression. This is just pure, like that, like that, that calm shimmering flat glassy sea is gone.
This is just chaos. Okay. So here's, here's, here's, here's your piece. Yeah. Diplomacy's out the window. Diplomacy's done. Nature on the other hand is still on the table because you're gonna, yeah. You're trying to find your way through this thing. And it's, it's getting, it's getting tougher as time goes on. Because you guys are moving toward the, the, the, the further into this storm you're moving, the worse it's going to get. You can also use, um, if you wanted to go help Braylin, like with an endurance check, to help out with that so that you could, you could do that too.
Those are pretty much your options as of right now. Uh, help Braylin with the ropes or scope out a, like a nature thing? Yeah. Um, okay. And to do the nature thing, you'd pretty much have to move to communicate with data. Okay, so either way, I, I probably am having to jump back, right? Probably. Is there, can I, is there anything I can do, um, magically? Like, is there any option, uh, that I can, standing on that deck, sort of like try and manipulate the water in front of us to, um, give us a easier way forward? Because we're headed, we're, we're headed for like one of the, the clearest spots, right?
Right. With your powers being ice, I think the best you could do is sort of create like, like bits of jagged ice. That's, that's, that's the problem. I don't think you're going to be able to, I know if it were, if it were calmer, you might be able to do a little something, but it's, it's basically the ocean fighting against you. I don't think you're going to be able to do anything that powerful. Okay. Um, I will try and help. I will try and help. Grayling, Kalden will, will, um, will move here and try, try to assist. All right. Um, do me a favor. Give me an acrobatics check.
Mm-hmm. Okay. Uh, that's going to succeed. No penalties to you. Wow. He really got his sea legs fast. That's good. Yeah. So do me a favor. Roll, roll an endurance check with a plus six. Okay. And I didn't add the plus six, so that's 22. Okay. Kalden is going to sidle up next to Grayling and he is going to grab one of these other bits of rigging and he is going to try and help Grayling and then pull. But unfortunately he is not going to be able to assist like Grayling did and that is going to be a failure. Can I use an action point? You sure can. Go ahead. Okay. I'll use my action point.
A 26. That is also going to be a failure. Oh no. Those two failures? No, it's just one. Oh, that's what the action point does. It's like basically a reroll. It's like, can I get a redo on that? Like you, yeah. Nine successes, three failures. You are three quarters of the way in succeeding and half the way to failure. That's going to bring up the black hand. They will continue to assist. That is a plus two. You will lose the plus two from Grayling so right now you are rocking a plus four unless you are rocking athletics and you are trying to do something with that and that will be a plus six.
Now it's the storm. The storm doesn't get any bonuses but I wish it did. The storm does not get any bonuses. The storm is just a flat detail. Is the storm considered an ally right now? Absolutely not. That is a two. Nice try though. Good. And it doesn't get my shield. [Laughter] Holy shit. Um, okay. That sounds good. [Clears throat] Alright, here's what's going to happen. Maybe these big waves I was talking about? Nope. [Laughter] Whatever could you mean? Well, so far you guys have been riding up these waves and you have had tremendous luck. What's going to happen this time is the ship is going to land awkwardly in the middle of one of these big waves.
And it is just going to strike the deck and it is going to attack everybody. Twenty four damage to everyone at that point. Holy balls. That's not all. Hold on a second. Mist Aegon. Mist. Kaladin. Aral of. Uh, hit Brelyn. Twenty four. Yep. Actor Ronis. Oh, I did it right. I put the twenty four in there and I was like, "Maybe I did it wrong." Oh. [Laughter] Do you remember how I said that there are three Blackhand crew members up top and there are four below? Yep. The slender looking one, the one that could have been female, is going to go tumbling over the edge.
Right over the board rail. No. No, wait. Don't go. Oh, I feel bad. Where are they? Can we grab them? I feel bad. What? What? I know. It's my conscience. I can't help it. Now they're like, "Don't do it, Corey." Hold on. We're not done yet. Everyone is also going to get a negative three penalty to checks made this next round. Everyone? Everyone. Well, everyone who was hit. Sorry. Everyone who was hit. Oh, okay. So what pluses do we have again? I can't remember. I think we only had a plus two. So everyone's at a... Anyone who got hit got a negative one. So we have plus two from the Blackhand.
Yep. We did have plus two from the Storm, but that's gone because it did a minus three. Oh, that's where the other one came from. Okay. The Storm is no longer our friend. Nope. I gave you plus two to Athletics still. Yep. And then plus two to Athletics and then plus two to Diplomacy from Talden. And that's all she wrote. We're done talking. Yeah, we're done talking. We're not talking this out anymore. So there will be some Athletics checks here and there. Like Corey, your turn. Okay. She's going to go tumbling over the side and she is hanging on for dear life out of this garden.
If you want, you can roll an Athletics check to try and save her. Or you can continue to assist Dana. I could just slowly turn around and pretend like I don't see it happening. Can I can I roll my Acrobatics first? Sure. I have to do that still. And I am taking a negative one. Is that what I heard? Yep. Okay. That sucks. It does. But you're fine. You're good. You're good. Okay. So that's done. Well, Dagon didn't get hit. So if she looks over at Dagon to see if he needs her assistance, she would probably see that he's doing okay because he didn't get hit. So I think she would try to reach and grab this person.
All right. She would. Yeah, she totally would. Maybe this will benefit us in the end if you help one of them. Maybe. I could be making a friend, a long term Bethro. Through the storm you hear Brailing Growl. He's very upset. You're also saving a life is the right thing to do. It is the right thing to do. Okay. Unless it's a golem. God. So for this one, I take a negative one as well. It's actually the black. Is it athletics? No, this is athletics. Plus one. Plus one. Plus one. Okay. Plus one. I got to adjust it. Plus one. Here we go. Was the real Padme the whole time? That is a crit.
Ladies and gentlemen. I just picture like as she's falling, like I do that arm grasp thing that you see in the movies. Like arms connecting. Not today, Beth. As you pull her over. You are going to pull this female tiefling up. Now in the midst of all this, she is going to lose her hood. And it is definitely a female tiefling. She is going to be wide eyed staring at Corey because she figured, well, dead. We're done. That's a wrap on me. And Corey is just going to like I picture just like muscular, just like just slam like grabbing forearms like, nope. And just dragging her up.
That is a success. That is your tenth success. I love you Corey. Good job. Mm hmm. Diplomacy is pretty much the cruise is bolstered as they can be in this situation right now. It would be in athletics to continue to steer the ship. And it would be you can also use a nature to try and like nature or perception to try and call the course. It's pretty much your options right now, though. Nature, perception, athletics. I will gladly take perception. I'm at a plus two, four. For perception, it would be a negative one. I didn't get hit. Oh, you did. Oh, shit. You're right.
You didn't get hit. You are absolutely correct. Oh, could I get an acrobatics check for you, sir? Oh, yeah. What do I have? Plus two. It's just two? Yeah, from the black hand. Everything else is just athletics, right? Yeah. Wow. Oh, boy. You're going to take a negative two to your skill check. Okay, so zero then? Zero. Yeah. Okay. That's the first modifiless. Would it be zero to athletics, though, if he has the black hand plus the... Oh, it would be plus two. Plus two if it's athletics. Sorry. Just like when we started, basically. I'm going to go perception. I'm trying to keep this straight at home, guys.
I'm going to perception on this one. Oh, perception. So negative. Sorry. Zero. Just zero. Zero. Zero. Six. Mm-hmm. Keeping a steel roll throughout all of this, watching Cory dive to see the black hand member, and after that wave, it could have taken some clean over and just had to see a clean roll. Dagon is going to continue to try and plot a course for the Allianzas that doesn't end up with a crew dive and broadside it. That is going to be a success as Dagon squints his eyes. Guys, that's 11. 11 and three failures. Air love. Too much pressure. So right now, your options are pretty much endurance to help with that mast, or you could use nature or perception.
The problem is it's getting harder and harder to see. All of your options are pretty crappy, but if you got something else that you think would be... Well, I was just gonna... can I do something insightful or something historic? You know. Do you want to try and read the storm's intentions? Can I? I mean, that sounds with an air love's character. That would be the ultimate... okay, that's the ultimate pulling an air love. Like, I insight check the storm. Yeah. That is out air love, air love. This is a skill check challenge, right? Are we still doing the assist rule or no?
No, you can do that. That's risky because her options are my worst ones also. Yeah. I'm not very good at endurance. I guess I am plus 18 for perception, so minus one to that. I could do that. Best bet. Yeah. Okay, well, acrobatics first. Okay, so it's acrobatics first. Hopefully you don't low roll... Yep. That is a negative two to your checks, so that's a negative three. Mm-hmm. Okay. Perception's the only thing I could possibly do right now, because everything else... that's my highest stat. I'm so sorry, guys. At least we won't die from this, but we could succeed from this. 29?
Looks good. 29? That's what I rolled last time. Is that with the negatives? Yeah, this is the negatives. Air love is going to successfully... What? What? Help guide the Alayanda... Out of the storm. Out of these black storm clouds, and after minutes and minutes and minutes of this pounding, you are going to get to a place where the crew can recoup, they can get their wits about them, and from here on out, they can deal with the rest of the storm as a unit, as a group. Guys, you have successfully sailed through this storm and made it out the other side. Yeah!
Thank you, Judy. Well done. Air love punched the storm in the face. Just quinted at it. Holy shit. Well done. That was a hairy start with that. I didn't think we were going to make it. At the beginning, I was already ready to... We're beaten by ropes. The second round really saved us. Everything went so well in the second round. Yeah, we had fail after fail after fail, and then the second round happened. Mm-hmm. So, everyone do me a favor. Roll a perception check. The storm right now is calming down. Again, this is going to be hours of this, but it's gotten to a point now where you guys can brave it.
The worst is pretty much over after some really, really intense minutes. Okay. Perception, perception. Calvin's... Calvin's a little low side. Who are we missing? He's puking over the side. He's puking, yeah. That makes total sense. Everyone else, these are the sounds you're going to take in as the storm is settling down. So, first off, that female tiefling is going to move to the other side of the ship. Just sort of give Corey a nod, like a "Thank you," but more like a silent, stunned, silent, like, "I almost died." Well, fuck. And it's going to move to the other side of the ship with the rest of the above deck Blackhand crew here.
You're also going to hear a pretty tremendous crash coming down off of one of these waves. It sounds like it came from below deck. That definitely... something definitely fell over, like a bunch of stuff probably, below deck. A lot of your supplies, things like that. Everything is usually in wood crates, barrels, stuff like that. So it's no surprise that shit is being just thrown around below deck. And the weather's going to start to clear up a bit. Still raining. Still pretty miserable out. Kind of cold, windy. Not great. But it's definitely getting better.
Your life isn't in instant peril. It's not in immediate danger. What would be going through everyone's head here after something like that? I think Brelan would look at Actaronis and be like, "Should I go make sure our teammates are okay, Captain?" And kind of give him a wink. Uh, yes. Yes. Alright, Actaronis. Whoops. My bad. Actaronis? I meant Dagon. Sorry. I got a promotion. You're first mate now. Oh yeah, you know what? Sorry, I meant Dagon. Sorry. He would agree to say yes. Please check on everyone. And then Dagon would probably go down to check what the crash was and assess the situation.
Make sure the ship's okay. Yeah, that's what I was talking about too. No. I thought you meant the on-deck people. No, no. Kory's already made sure they're okay. Let's go together. Let's do it. I'm actually going to yell, "My armor!" I'm going to follow guys. No. Oh my god. So that's where you're... So you're taking off for that right now? Yep. Alright. So above deck, Kolis is actually keeping very close... It looks like he's checking to see if this female tiefling is fine. It looks like she's been through some pretty heavy shit. And it's like, "Okay, well, you could have died." But just checking her out, it's like, "Okay, are your arm broken?
Is anything wrong with you?" So while he's doing that, you guys are going to go below deck. And that was Dagon and Braylin? And then Dr. O. And then Dr. O is checking on armor and stuff. Once you're below deck... Oh wow. Do we ever roll Perception here? Because this is kind of a hot mess. Oh no. Boy. So this entire below deck area is kind of a mess. There's a couple of barrels that seemingly... They kind of have fresh water in them. They have been broken, so that cuts your fresh water supply down a little bit. But nothing crazy significant unless you're stuck at sea for a while.
You had enough to cleanly make the journey, even if something terrible were to happen to the ship. You brought extra this time. Because if you remember, that was a problem last time. Yeah. You're going to see a lot of food. A lot of food and stuff kind of scattered about. It looks like a couple of crates busted. And you got things like oranges and stuff rolling around and bits of bread and things here and there. But nothing too terrible. It doesn't look like any real damage was sustained. It's a fucking miracle you guys made it to that storm in the shape that you're in.
It's an absolute miracle. If anybody has ever said anything about bad luck being on Group 2's side, it wasn't today. You guys had stellar luck. In the back of the ship, which would... Well, I mean, to you guys. Those Blackhand fellows. The ebony guard. The larger ones. They are going to be blocking off the door to where they're staying here. That little archway where they are. Because they sort of made camp in the back. The large crate that they had been guarding seems to have fallen over. Yeah. And something has come spilling out of it. But it's really tough to make out from where you are.
They are making a show of "Don't come in here." And the other two are trying to pick it back up. And it looks like they're trying to put it back in the crate and seal it back up. I would like to activate Words of Friendship on myself. Okay. So I get +5 power bonus to my next diplomacy check. Okay. Pow! I'm going to whisper to Acteronus and Dagon. I'm going to get us to get past them with no problem. But if it doesn't work, I'm going to look to Dagon. It's up to you, Captain, to bamf right behind them. Now, I'm going to remind you, this is going to be a very high check.
You're not exactly sure if these things are people or what they are. But they have been stone silent since they've been aboard and seem to only take orders from Cola so far. So there's two by the door and then two in the room? Yep. And that's it? Just those four? Everyone else is up top? Yep. Can he still benefit from Cauldron's +2? From what? From the storm? Uh, from diplomacy. Oh, you're not even on the same deck. I'd say no. Yeah, okay. Alright. I tried. I tried. No, no, that's cool. Get all you can, man. I get it. That makes sense. So I'm going to mosey on up to the...
How many are guarding the two? Two guarding the door? Two by the door. Like bouncers in a nightclub. And as I'm talking to them, "Hey guys, allow me to help. It's not a problem. I'm in charge of the things down here. Quartermaster, you know, I take care of all the inventory. Let me help." Alright, do me a favor. Give me a diplomacy check. Plus five. Oh no, plus five. Not enough. Oh, that is a three. That is a roll of three. Okay. These things are just sort of going to look down at Brelin and then kind of squeeze closer together to make sure that's like... Just the fact that you're approaching them, you can say that they're kind of on guard.
And they're going to sort of like reach down. They've got these blades at their sides. They're going to reach down and put their hand on the hilt and then just sort of like push closer together to make sure... Almost as if Brelin were going to try and scoot through their legs or something. Just kind of like get back up without saying a word. They're just going to sort of get a defensive posture going on. I'm going to put my hands up and walk backwards. Well, obviously don't do friends or help. Just thought I'd ask. Can I like, even though they're squeezing together, can I get like a peek behind them?
No, you know what? Just the fact that you're that close, I'll give you one chance to get a sneak peek. Give me a perception roll. Oh, the best skill. I'm so good at it. Oh, God. I thought that was a one. I did two for just a second. It's not much better. Not enough. Yeah. At this point, so they've got this crate back on this table and they're setting it up. And Brelin's going to see like a lot of like a lot of like like straw. It seems to have gone everywhere. Like whatever was in this whatever was in this thing was packed was was packed in straw to maybe keep it from getting damaged or something like that.
But that's that's all Brelin's going to really see in the midst of these guys kind of shuffling together. Because even if you were to see past them, there are two of them moving around in there. I figured they look like those Zelda guys from Link to the Past, the first like real big boss, those knights who just jump up and down. That's what I envisioned. Yeah. As I'm backing up and I can't see anything, I'll be like, all right, well, if you make a mess, you clean it up. Because I'm also the janitor and I don't feel like cleaning up after you guys. The quartermaster and janitor.
The hiring process is ridiculous. Then I go back to my friends and I say, OK, maybe teleporting might not be the best idea. Dagon will march up to these two guards and say, I am the captain of the ship and in the interest of safety for my crew, I demand you let me see what fell out of that crate. Hmm. This could go this could go either way. Are you trying to intimidate? It's just a matter of fact. So give me a diplomacy roll. OK. Hmm. Um, I can read the so picture like thick, heavy black robes over these things and, you know, they're wearing like full armor and stuff, and there's that that weird purplish kind of aura coming off of them.
And you're going to hear the leather in their gloves sort of like tighten as they readjust their their hand grip around this hilt of their blade. And that is that is the only sound you're going to hear, and it's kind of stark quiet except for. Dagon, I'm going to give you a chance to roll a diplomacy because you're a little taller than Breland. OK. Or not diplomacy. Sorry, perception. Perception. Why would the fuck it would not? Nothing to do with it. They hate short people. Boom. Almost a grip. Between the between the shoulders of these two guards, as you're as you're listening again, you're going to hear that leather just like just like curl around the hilt of their blade.
They're just ever going to so slightly like just like start to pull it out, just like as a message like back the fuck up. Like that's basically what they're doing. And inside this room, you're going to hear the you're going to you're going to hear these two still sort of fumbling, like stuffing the straw back into this thing. And then Breland is going to see them lift an object up. And again, it's it's sort of tough to see. But what it looks like is the back end of a large double bladed battle axe. Oh, Dagon, really? Because I think it's a great way to go.
So what do I would I recognize? That's what Stormander. Well, he didn't say that. Well, come on. Oh, jump to a lot of conclusions, aren't we there? Oh, what I'm happy is not a body. What can I roll to see if I recognize this history weapon weapon? Dagon would recognize. When the the two guards like tighten their grip and start pulling their blades a little like out a little bit, actually from the back would say, Captain, please. We had a deal. Please step away from them. Dagon would Dagon would recognize the infamous godly weapons Stormrender, which was was thought to be lost for a very long time.
But by by all description, by any any sketches that Dagon would have seen that that looks like that. It's just unless his eyes are playing tricks on him. He only got a quick glance at it, but it would sort of line up with them being so protective of it and them packaging it the way they are doing. And he's going to watch that just for a split second as that goes back into its crate again, packed tight with straw. And then they're going to they're going to place the lid back on this thing and just sort of like lean on it to try and to try and close this again.
Dagon will turn around and look at actor onus and pat him on the shoulder and say, Don't worry, my friend. I think I found out everything I needed to know. As long as it doesn't change anything. Well, we'll see about that. He's going to lean in closer to Dagon and just say a little softer. Captain, we're all trusting your judgment. But your arrogance has been difficult to work with in the past. Let's try to just try to fulfill that agreement we had. I do not want Tessia's blood on my hands. And nor do I. Rest assured, I wouldn't put anyone here in any unnecessary danger.
Good. Captain. So I don't think I don't think Dagon would tell them right there what he saw. Just because there's those guards around, he doesn't want to give it away. I guess we should go back up. Is there anything else? Anything else evidently needs our attention down here? I mean, the food's on the floor, captain. This is a dire, dire situation. I imagine his mouth is half full. I got some breads in my mouth. I have two oranges and three apples. I'm trying to carry them. I'm saving what I can, but... It's dangerous down here, sir. We've got to make sure it's cleaned up.
Yeah, I'm going to help Brelin clean up. Or I'll start cleaning up. I guess I'll get to my armor. I don't know at that point how effective the cloak is to hide how I look. I assume those guys don't quite react to it anyway. They don't care. Yeah, these are assholes. So I'd probably just start putting back my armor on if the storm is not as severe anymore. Sure. And I just remove the cloak and stuff like that, basically just not hiding too much. Just looking at them and just say... I assume you guys are capable of keeping a secret as he's just changing. You can't even really see their eyes.
It's very awkward. Can we figure out what they are? That's the question. I rolled a big arcana check on them and it still didn't really... It's something the group hasn't encountered before. I have a guess, but I don't know if it's... We could maybe try and find out what kind of magic it is. I don't think we've done that yet. We just know it's magic in general. Just want to know if they're undead. [laughter] Well... I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what you can do. You guys are about to have a conversation, I'm guessing, at some point? Probably. Yeah, probably.
I would like to call a group meeting. Okay. Maybe we could do something during the group meeting. Team meeting! It's been so long. Before we do that, can I... Before we do a group meeting, can I just really quick roll a perception roll on that female tiefling? I just want to see... Like if you know her? Not if I know her, but general... Is she young? What she looks like? What she's carrying? That sort of stuff. So you've got a pretty good look at her. Right. On the younger side, you're guessing early to mid-20s. Definitely not a fighter, per se. You're guessing there's probably either archer, magical, something like that.
There's a reason she's there in terms of combat prowess. You're guessing that everyone on this ship is there to carry their own weight in a fight if need be. Specifically the four things downstairs. And yeah, you're not... Obviously you wouldn't exactly know what she's doing, but younger. Couple of scars on her, like on the cheek and neck region. So probably been in a fight or two in her life. Yeah, that's pretty much what you'd gleam. Okay. Can I do something real fast? Regarding that tiefling? Okay, so as Acteronis and Dagon and Brelin are going downstairs, Erelove will quickly bandage herself up and then look over to the tiefling, then head below deck, but it's only for like maybe 30 seconds.
She's grabbing something from her pack. She'll come back up, not even pay attention to what they're doing down there. Come back up. She has like, it looks kind of like a coin purse in her hand and she'll go walk over to the tiefling and say, "Hold it out to her and be like, 'Here, you've had a shitty day. Here's some comfort food.'" And hold it out to her. She's going to, first of all, okay, you could tell that it was a big deal that her hood was removed. Like that is a big deal. So, Kolos is standing near her and then there's the third individual who is kind of like moderately, you could tell, not super muscular, looks kind of lean, definitely looks male, but wearing the same kind of hood she was wearing.
And yeah, he's like maybe tall halfling, short human somewhere in there. Yeah, he's floating in there, very, very average height. She's going to look at Air Love like, "Why are you being nice to me?" And then sort of look at Kolos. Kolos is just going to nod and she's going to sort of slowly reach out and accept it. And if she looks at it like, "What the hell is she handing me?" "It is tiefling candy. What's up?" You know that spicy tiefling candy? I'm pretty sure Air Love's mom gave her a shit ton because obviously the family likes it. I picture it on a bowl on her desk.
Yeah. Where there's originals just chilling, all stuck together. I figured no one else on the boat would like them. And it's probably like every tiefling's favorite candy. Probably raised on it. Like if you're like that's sort of like, "Oh yeah." Yeah, and then she's just going to walk away not expecting anything. Just like, "There you go." And nod and walk away. She's going to give this little timid head nod just really quickly. Like she wants to say something but doesn't quite and just sort of head nod. But definitely kind of a without saying thank you, saying thank you type of thing.
Fostering relationships. So with the rest of the crew coming back up to join you guys on the deck of the Alleanda, everyone seems to be just... Today's been a day. This is not the best start to your adventure. It is the 19th of Thorim still. But it is, I would say after everything, hours kind of sailing through this stuff, it's going to be dusk. What would you guys like to do? I guess team meeting now. Yeah. I think I sort of motioned everybody to come join me in the captain's quarters. All right. So you guys are going to get a little privacy here. I guess the first thing I want to address is just to ask everyone if they're okay.
That was quite a storm and well, I'm glad it turned out the way it did. I no longer have anything in my stomach, but I feel okay. You want any bread or something? I'm going to like look over there. Okay. Never mind. Put it back in my coat. Erilo is going to rub at her arms and be like, if you don't mind, I don't want to be on rope duty again. And they're bandaged up because she took like 11 damage from them. Corey's just going to be like wringing the water out from her hair. The second thing has been brought to my attention that perhaps I'm not thinking of you as much as I should be.
I've been making my decisions. And if that is the case, I am truly sorry. I don't want to think of this group as being led by one, but as us being, as all our voices being heard. And I want to make it clear that is not me alone that makes the decisions for this group. And from here on out, everything will be put to a vote as it should be. And he'll sort of look over to actor onus to see if he gives any signs of approval. Yeah, he's going to give like a forward nod with his head, just like keeping it low and going back up. I also don't think I've thanked any of you for what you're doing for me.
And I want you to know how much it does mean to me that you're here and you're helping me. And also, for those that are curious, I know what's in that box. It is a it's a weapon of cord. Precisely. It is Stormrender, a great and powerful battle axe. I'm curious as how they came across it and even more curious as to what they plan on doing with it. Braille is going to check the door. I'm assuming it's closed. I'll make sure no one's listening. I'm just going to kind of sneakily look outside the door. See if anyone is looking around. This is it. Yeah. Do me a favor.
Give a little perception check. Just a little. Why would I do this? Fuck. Braille doesn't see anything. The door is open. Must not be anything there. No. Yeah. Let's be fine. Let's close the door. If we see it hit him in the face. I opened it too fast. I try. This is going to say, well, as long as I'm concerned, we only need so many weapons of cord concentrated on the mainland. If this buyer wants to somehow use the battle axe to tip the war on Talur in their favor. And then he looks at this car blade at his side. A weapon alone can't win a war. I don't think we're getting our hands dirty this whole exchange.
I hope for our sake that they give it to the smart ones. Right. There's two sides. And the ones we want to talk to are the smarter ones. The book smarter ones, I should say. And now we know that while it is a powerful weapon, it is a handheld weapon that one person can use. At least it's not a plague this time. And then she's going to look to Dagon and Actronis. Like, you know what I'm talking about. Yeah, this is indeed a relief. But what does it do? Is it something that can act on its own? Like the orb? Actronis is going to look at Dagon because he doesn't quite know about it.
Jason, it has to be wielded, right? Yes. And you'd know with that history check, you'd know pretty much all about it. Okay. Well, I guess I'll just relay any relevant historic information about it. Double-bladed battle axe, big hefty weapon. Pretty much the heaviest of the three weapons accord. At its peak, I mean there are all kinds of second, third-hand stories and stuff like that, but at its peak this thing was rumored to be able to control storms itself and use those in a fight against the wielder's enemies. I mean, we're talking like crazy shit, but the more solid information is that at the very least it can channel lightning.
It can do some real nasty damage up close. Weird question. Is it known for like storms following it? Yeah, I was just thinking that. What you would know from textbooks is where this thing is, storms are usually mentioned in the text, you know, following it. Like it's not, it's not, and then they broke out storm render and it was a very pleasant day. Like it's not, I mean weather-wise, yeah, there's always storms mentioned in the text. Whether there's any like causality, like a link to that, it's up for debate. So potentially these jackasses downstairs could be like, "Hey Carl, let's open the box and see what the bosses carry." And then they used it on accident.
What the f- oh my god. Brannan's going to be visibly upset. Well it sounds like, it sounds like we're just going to leave it be. Is that the message I'm getting? What action would you have us take? It's not up to me. Sorry I got to the meeting late. Well no, I mean, I guess I'm having a hard time, like what would we do? Like do we have reason to do anything? I don't think there's anything to do. I mean out of character, of course I'd want this weapon in our group. Right. Who can wield it? No one really uses it. I'm sure Actor Onus could use it. No I can't. I cannot.
No. Keep it out of bad hands I suppose. Plus we just got Actor Onus off drugs. I don't feel... I don't feel like he needs to be hooked again. He wants to take everything away from me. Just the drugs Actor Onus, you need to be clean. It was everything. This is a sign we're not meant to have a legendary weapon. Well let's not get ahead of ourselves. Well I mean if there's a loot that's blessed by the gods, I mean... What kind of training do you need for this weapon? What do you need to be trained in? Great Axe training? A feat. Martial training? It'd take like a few weeks to train with it.
And then you gain a level and you take the feat. And be a fighter? But Actor Onus is gonna say, I don't personally owe any favors to the Church of Court. I feel like I've done enough for them in the recent past. So I have no attachment to this weapon. Yeah, Brethest can remember. Oh yeah, you brought that girl back to life. Good job. Or not back to life, but you kept her kind of alive, kind of dead. I remember. I can't propose. What threat does it pose to the continent of Talur? We don't know exactly who they're sending it to, or who they're bringing it to.
Do we have any stake in who wins this war? No we do not. Yeah, frankly. And whoever wants to survive in the world filled with demons might as well have that axe in their hands. Good point. Also, I guess we should hope that it goes to the guys without the books, right? I think he's gonna look around. Frankly, we're not going to that island for politics. We're going to seek out a specific thing and then hopefully leave what they do or who they give it to, as far as I can see isn't our concern. Can I propose something? This is a weapon of the gods. And among us, maybe none of us can decide what needs to happen with it.
But you, and it's going to turn to Kori, are a god herself. I think it is you who should decide what we do with this weapon. Does Kori make that noise in real life? Because that would be great. That would be excellent. I'm sorry, Jamie. No pressure. No, it's fine. Oh, gosh. Okay. I don't think that Kori probably thought of it that way, necessarily. Her mind is pretty set on, we have this list of things that we need to accomplish before this time. So, Cauldron would have sort of opened up a new way of thinking to her. So she's actually going to take a few moments and think it over.
Jason, how much longer do we have on the ship before we get there? If you continue like this. Let's assume both if things go great and then if things go horrible. Okay, if things go well and weather's sort of on your side, you probably got another, I don't know, three and a half, four days at sea. If things drag out and the wind's against you or no wind at all, something like that, you could be out here for a while, maybe six, seven, eight days. Okay. So, Cauldron, I think you bring up a really great point. I had not even thought of it that way. We have about a week.
I don't think we need to make any decisions now. And she's going to look towards everyone to see if anybody objects and at least then that'll give us time to decide what we want to do and what steps we should take. Because if we do decide that we're going to go after this weapon, it's not going to be an easy feat at all. I don't know why we're still discussing this. I'm sorry, Corey. But we made a promise and we want... I wasn't there. Sorry. Sorry. What? I said I wasn't there. I didn't promise nobody nothing. That's true. Going after this weapon means we're going against Essia.
And to be quite honest, this is a powerful, powerful weapon, but it's a petty weapon of course. Its sole purpose is to fight and destroy. It's got nothing else to bring to this world. Just let it find battle. Let it fulfill its destiny. Keep writing its own story. But in the end, it's just another petty weapon of course. What do you mean going against Essia? Oh yeah, we did say we would fill you in. And exposition dump. Can I check the door now? Blackmail by the Blackhand. Can I check the door now? I mean, if you doubt, if you doubt Breland, sure. Well, not that I doubt Breland.
Always doubt Breland. No, it's that. Always doubt him. It's now that we're talking about whether we're going to take what they have or not, Airlove's getting a little worried. Like a secondary check. It's like, okay, let's see if anybody creeped up next to the door. Yeah, go ahead. Roll a perception. Yeah. Airlove is just going to sort of like, like do one of those, like just crack the door just ever so slightly. And on the opposite side of the ship, you're going to see two of those things standing guard again. Like in that archway, blocking off that room.
But that's it. You don't see anybody else. It doesn't seem like there's anybody down here with you in your area. She's going to turn back to the group. Close the door, obviously. I'm on Cory's side. Maybe we should take this time to think about, we have a few days so we can think about what we want to do. I just don't feel comfortable all of us being in one room and not knowing where the rest of the Blackhand crew is. Agreed. And with respect to Cory, and respect to you who act around us, I think the question that we have to ask ourselves is, will this weapon turn the tide?
Is it something that in our hands, or in someone else's hands, who is for our cause, will accomplish what we are crossing this ocean for? Does everybody agree that we should take the time we have left on the ship and think about our next course of action? We shouldn't act rashly? Yeah, maybe could we come up with another place and time to meet or something that might be a good place on the ship so that prying ears or prying eyes can... Yeah, I think it'd be a good idea to see how things go. Alright, Actuarness is just gonna like, sigh, and like, just shrug.
That's it. Let's meet back at the clubhouse. Yeah, if we get there super quick, three days. If we don't, three days would probably still be a good time to come back. Mm-hmm. Like, cause we'll still be on the ship. As you guys are speaking... I looked. I fucking looked. As you guys are speaking, Kori's eyes are gonna open wide. Almost as if she's either in shock or in pain. And she's almost going to lose her balance. And there is going to be a chill that runs up her spine. Is that it? No. I'm sitting here with my hands on my face like, "What's happening?" And then you sneeze.
There is going to be a feeling that overcomes Kori. And it's very tough to describe, but... In that moment, she is going to pick something up on that ship. And she has never been more sure of a thing in her entire life. And even though this thing is, by all definition, impossible, she's positive that the four individuals that are below deck with you right now... ...are in fact not human, but demons. And I think it's a pretty good time for us to stop for the evening. Bye. Okay, God. Oh my God. See how Doronasu happens when you relate to your enemies? God, dude.
All promises, off the table. I'm just saying it right now. I'm sorry, I wasn't expecting someone to draw the debond. All my powers are divine and radiant. What's up, bitches? I love putting demons. Oh boy. Okay, well, we're obviously against them now. Yeah, I guess that's a lot of shit. Let's take that axe, man. Except the friend that we have made. Yeah. Yeah, you know what? Screw Thisia. Yeah. She's not worth it. We set out to end the demon apocalypse. There are fucking demons with a weapon of God. Not all demons. Testia's one of the best. Hashtag not all demons. You don't know them.
Besides, even if we killed them all, how would it get back to the Black Hand before we could get back to Testia and Warner? Yeah, we'd have like three days to figure that out. Yeah, there's probably no way to relay information. Magically. Other than taking a boat. In Testia's, in Esterhold right now with Malchus and Valis, so she's pretty good. Hey, you're the Testia expert, so. Oh boy. I'm just... We're just gonna pick up Stormrender and nobody's gonna know what to do with it. We're so gonna be known as the group that killed Testia, aren't we? Oh god, hey, hey, I'm still opposed to this.
That all depends on decisions you guys make. I'm just letting you know what's up. We can't let them keep it. Okay, we'll talk about it. Can I tell you what's fucking crazy? If Kori were not on this ship, that would not have happened. You wouldn't know. That's true. That they were demons? That they were tied to them? Yeah. Okay, I will say though that this really solidifies that I do think that the gods are trapped in human bodies. Because why else would Kori be able to sense demons? Like, it wouldn't make sense. I'm pretty sure that's bad. I feel like any doubt that I had is gone.
Because there was like a little inkling that was like, "Oh, you know, the witch might be lying to everybody." Better than Merrick, you know. If you had any divine powers or anything like that, how would you know? The witch is still lying about her herself, but none other than the gods. I know for sure. [laughter] Now that Kori has figured out the sense she has, she should go back to the witch and see if she's a demon. Here's the other thing. Do you not remember the fight? She is something from that place of the world. I kind of want to know if Kori can sense what magic is on all of the...
Like, Acheronas and Dagon and Aral of Love. Like, the witch magic that's on them. Ooh, we know something about that. But she might have a connection to that now. Like, be able to figure out what's going on with that. I don't know. My arcana is plus six, so I probably... Plus god level. Plus god level. That's true. That's true. You turn on god mode and no clipping. That'll make the whole journey very easy. Well, it's story canon that Acheronas got in touch with his clerical powers more by learning from Aral of Love. So I can maybe help you tap into shit too. Kind of be the Raven Queen apostle?
Teach me about the Raven Queen. I am the most knowledgeable person on this ship about that. This opens up some doors. This is some interesting questions for you guys the next time we sit down. Oh my god, yeah. We're gonna have to have a conversation. Taking a godly weapon to Talor if we're supposed to be going to Kian. If they're supposed to be going to Kian. Remember, remember that the Black Hand demons are under control. Yeah, they're at the service of the Black Hand. Like, the Black Hand is just probably super powerful or has super powerful allies. I think those are just minions and I don't think they're related to what's coming.
But there's more to it for sure. Yeah, they got them controlled somehow. Susan totally wants to stop it because that sounds like what we're trying to go against. Like demons with a god weapon. But Aral of Love would probably think of Tessia first. I feel like the Black Hand is Michael Douglas from the Spawn movie. Like, wow, I want to see where this is going. Well, he's a very powerful person in our physical world and the dark side has tapped into that in order to try and skew things in their favor. And then has supplied him, well, supplied her with ammunition to be able to tip the balance basically.
He's manipulating the entire character. And I apologize, I'm sorry you spawn as a... Wasn't it Martin Sheen? Wasn't it Charlie Sheen's dad? Martin Sheen? Yeah, that's what it is. Not Michael Douglas. I was like, Michael Douglas is from Spawn? I thought you were going with a Gordon Gekko thing. I thought you were going like... Who is it? It's one of the Sheens. It's the daddy Sheen. It's Martin. Yeah, daddy Sheen. Daddy Sheen. Well, guys, thank you all for sitting down tonight. Congrats. Not only did you not die, but you found out some pretty huge stuff tonight. Yeah.
That was fantastic. Just want to get to the eladrum. Yeah, just want to get to the swarm. Get over there. So close, guys. Soon. Next session? Question mark? You talk about us not being politically involved with the guys in Talor, but that could be. That we're deeply involved, depending on what's going on. I mean, if we're stopping demons from taking over the world, I think we are the most politically involved group in the world. Oh, no, there's nukes. Okay, we'll stop them. But we're going to be spending time on Skirmish instead of the invasion. You know what I'm saying?
Yeah, sure. We don't know yet. Again, guys, I'm not shitting you when I'm telling you, you guys got some lofty decisions to make. The closer we get to 200, the less clean cut this will probably be. Your decisions could end up shaping the rest of the world from here on out. No pressure. Don't do that. I think we need Stormrender to do that. Yeah, see? James, same mindset, man. Let's do it. Fuck everybody, let's go get Stormrender, let's do it. Let me sneak in, I'll get it. Just distract him. Yeah, she can go steal it. Distract demons. We'll get Stormrender, we can give it to Una, she can go guns blazing, crazy, batshit, insane.
So she can wield all three? Yeah, why not? She's a paladin. I can't even wield one single orb. No, you can't, Agronis. You absolutely cannot. Don't ever touch orbs, don't even think about them. Ever. No. Not even your own. Not even your own. If we had it right now, you would probably kill those guys on the boat. They're not undead. It doesn't care. How do you know that? Because it... doesn't a demon say that? I think it would be pissed off that you left the mainland and be like, "Where's the undead?" "And now I'm gonna have to kill you, you're the only undead." That was true.
That would have been nice storytelling, though. Let it go, Xavier. Never. We gotta talk. We gotta talk on our page, I think. I was about to say, I would love to see you guys do more. I was just gonna say, I'm gonna write out all of my thoughts. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a good idea. It's gonna be important. I thought we would only be dealing with nature and pirates, but... Just throw us a wrench. Throw us a lot of wrenches. Bit of a complication. Allow me to kill Bill you for just one second. You didn't really think it was gonna be that easy, did you? You know, for a second there, yeah, I kind of did.
Oh my god, guys, thank you so much. I can't wait to read all this stuff on the G2 page, because that makes my day. So, good luck. See you next time. And things are gonna get thicker. And honestly, depending on how long we play, I don't see why we couldn't get to T'Lor. Woohoo! Yeah! We should schedule the next session. I was gonna say, I'm like ready to play already. We can probably throw in one or two before Christmas. Well, I'm gone most of November and win Japan again. Okay. You are? That's exciting! Should be fun. Real vacation. No work. Thank god. Nice. Let us know the dates.
I'm gonna be gone the first week or so of December. I'll be on the road. So, next weekend or the weekend after? Yep, I'm down. Both. Actually work. T'Games, done. Alright. Okay. Thanks a lot. That was awesome. To the page! Bye, guys. To the page! Bye, guys. Congrats. See you later. Have fun storming the castle. Bye, Will. Hey, it's Ian, your favorite half-elf sorcerer.
