From the director of Mr. and Mrs. Smith and The Bourne Identity comes a new film. This your first job? I know what I'm doing. I'm a little late for a crit change. Starring Matt Damon. Everybody in New England is after us. And Casey Affleck. Go, go, go, go, go! What are you doing? Taking notes. Taking notes on a criminal conspiracy. The Instigators, rated R. New episodes Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Only on Peacock. Let's go around the table and do that thing where we introduce everybody. I'm Jason, I'm the Dungeon Master. Going around the table, let's start with Scott. Hello, my name is Scott McAvoy. I play Marcus Santa, Human Cleric. And although it doesn't start on like a real recording without Jason starting out with Howdy Folks. [laughter] I'm off my game now. [laughter] Izzy!
Hey, I'm Izzy Chadwick. I play Una, the Half-Elf Paladin. Merlin. Hello, I'm Merlin Reynolds. I'm playing Gavin Dearborn, the Human Warlock. Cat. Warlord, Warlord. Warlock, oh yeah. I'm off my game too. Hi, I'm Cat Charlie. I'm playing Thi, the Changeling Thith. And Bree. Hi, I'm Brianna Richardson and I will be playing Judzia Grace, the Human Warlock. So, we are finally sitting down to record this session, guys. Since this is the first time we're going to actually be kind of inside the city of Overwatch. Ooh. If you have any questions about your surroundings or whatever, feel free, just let them fly.
I'd like to make a history check on that. [laughter] Sorry. Go ahead, Justin. Yes! [laughter] So... Three. Almost a crit. Ah. [laughter] You know, I thought I got away with that. I'm not playing with Group 1 right now. I thought I got away from the "almost a crit" gag. [laughter] Now you have all the memes that you're going to have from Group 1 and 2 all bled into three now. Let's not do that. Let's please not do that. Let's not do that. Okay. Agreed. So, you guys are starting out at level one. You're fresh-faced recruits for the most part. You've all been in a couple of battles together and management has decided that you've shown an aptitude.
So, what they've done is they've asked you all to Sergeant Fletcher's quarters. Which, he's kind of one of the lower rung guys. He's not a higher up, but he's in charge of you guys. So, he's higher than you. Inside the city. Let's describe your surroundings real quick. Because this is a major city. It's the biggest city on the west coast. There are these massive... It's this huge circular wall that surrounds the city. And it's almost like a partial dome. The walls kind of go up and arc backwards into the city. So, you can tell these guys have been preparing for some time for an attack.
Because they've been attacked before and they've repelled the invasion with warforged. The city itself on the inside is pretty much just a city. It's this huge, bustling metropolis. The one thing I guess you could say is a little odd is that it's just humans. Like, that's it. Obviously, just humans on the inside. The only change up is you'll see warforged walking around here and there. Most of them are either on patrol outside or they're kind of hidden away in buildings. But, every once in a while you'll see them walking around on the streets too. But it's usually because they have some place to go or something to do.
Is there anything you guys would like to do before we get started? Before we actually send you on your first mission? No, not that I can think of. No? Okay. Nope. So, you guys as a group for the first time are arriving at the sergeant's quarters. And walking in, he's doing some paperwork, something kind of trivial. At least that's what it looks like. So, you guys are walking into his quarters for the first time and he motions for you all to come in. Come in! Come in! You know why you're summoned here today, right? Yes, sir. Okay, good. I don't have to go into detail.
Fantastic. I look around and everybody kind of, yeah, looks slightly nervous. We'll get the documents and look at it later. We're here for army training, sir. A Stripes reference out of the gate! Oh my. Tyler wasn't even present for that. Man, he's gonna be mad. How familiar are you with the area outside of the city? Not very right now. I've looked over plenty of maps. I've looked over maps but past that haven't been past the walls. Well, because this is a new unit and this is a bit experimental to be honest, we don't usually send out recruits for sensitive missions.
But you've all shown quite an aptitude on the battlefield and you work well together. So, what we're going to do is try something new. We're going to send you on a fairly sensitive mission that, quite honest, needs to be completed for you to prove your worth. Beneath the city, if you follow the road down, behind a large waterfall, there is a set of caverns. Do you know anything about the Warforged construction within the city? No, sir. No? Well, things like wood, metal, these are easy to get. Gemstones, on the other hand, have become troublesome. Now, there are some cities nearby that we could barter for or maybe strike a deal.
But, it's rumored that there are gemstones in the cave beneath the city. Now, we have no reason to believe that you'll encounter any resistance other than local flora and fauna. So, I'm going to send you into the cavern and we would like you to investigate and bring back any gemstones that you find. Rubies, preferably. Is that going to be a problem? No, sir. Fantastic. You can take your leave immediately and don't come back without them. It's not fall down any crevices, guys. Let me load up the map here. Let me get this going. So, if that sounds familiar to you...
If it doesn't sound familiar, it may in a little while. Just watch for the rope bridge, guys. Gavin, go ahead and roll an insight check for me, please. Let's go to my skills. My skills! Insight. Insight's nine, dammit. Well, that is a good first roll. That is a crit one. No, it isn't. No, it's not. It's a fifteen. Minus one is fourteen. I do have a minus. A negative one for insight. Okay. So, fourteen. You don't get too much more than what he was telling you. You didn't read too much into that. The one thing you do pick up is a couple of times he's... He's basically telling you failure is not an option if you want this group to succeed.
They want some sort of success from you to prove your worth before they send you on any really important tasks. So... I wouldn't fail the guy. That's just me. Is there anything you'd like to do in the city before we move on? You guys have been outfitted. You have your standard issue gear. You're pretty much ready to go, ration-wise. You all have your adventure kit stocked up. You got torches. You're pretty much ready, so... If you wanted to head straight to the cave, you can do that. I'm all set. Let's go. Let's do this. Perhaps we should what? Oh, I was going to say, perhaps we should...
I don't know if we need to speak about anything prior to going in there. I would look over and go, "Sorry about the whole... Yeah, I know exactly what we're talking about. I figured we'd be handed a dossier. That's fairly standard protocol." They're like, "All right, you got your mission." And then they just repeat the exact same thing that was typed up on there. Right. Paper's at a premium in Theria. It's... We can't go wasting paper. Ah. Ah. It's good. They're not wasteful in the Overwatch. Think before you ink. If you guys want to place your characters right in yonder here...
Warlocks in the back, I'm assuming? Yeah. So, pretty standard setup. You guys are going to explore this cavern. And you have your mission. You're looking for gemstones. Preferably rubies. But... The normal... You basically get to keep what you find. If it's something important to the war effort, something like that, then... Yeah, you're going to have to turn that over. I mean, obviously gemstones and things like that. You're not going to be... You're not going to find a cache of jewels and then go back to the city and sell it. Like, you're expected to bring those back.
On the other hand, if you find loose gold or... Weapons, yeah, something like that, that's yours. Okay. How would you like to proceed into the cavern? I'm imagining you're... Does anyone have a low-light vision? Anything like that? You're all... Very much. All human, so... Yeah, I have a light vision. Curse you of my elf brethren. How can you see so well in the dark? I'm suspicious. Training! Lots of carrots. Take carrots as a child. The way we're arranged right now, it just looks like we really want to protect Fee. Like, he's our baby. Yes. Fee can jump forward and back.
It's true, he is beautiful. We can't let anything scar that beautiful face. So, walking into... Just kind of peering into this cave... It's all pirouette-ian. Beyond the entrance, it's pretty much pitch black. So, this is definitely time for torches and things like that. It's engineering? Check. Might not be a bad idea. Okay, I've got a plus two. And a low-light vision, I'm not sure if that helps me or not. I got that one. Okay, I'll roll it. I'm in front. I got a plus three. Oh, just kidding. You roll it. Five! I knew that! I'm pretty sure it's still there. Hey guys, it's a cave!
So, Marcus kind of peers into the darkness and he'd say, "I got this. Let me check the traps." This looks fine to me. Gorgeous. Looks good. If I step on one, my first words are going to be, "Got it!" Found one, it's right here. If you guys want to just advance into the cave and just move forward so you're comfortable where you're at. As you walk in, this is the stereotypical cave. Your torches are just kind of lighting the darkness. The walls kind of have a sheen about them because of the waterfall behind you. It's just slick, like wet. The entire first 30, 40 feet of this cave has just been misted constantly for years and years and years.
Peering down, you kind of turn a corner to the right and then peering down this long corridor. You kind of see this long stretch out in front of you. Either side again, it's slick down to a certain point and then it's bone dry. Lots of fungus and stuff along the walls and, again, stereotypical cave. You are free to move forward down the corridor here as far as you want. Is that as far as you want, Gavin? You can make a check of any kind if you want. I'm going to do Dungenearing. I'm rolling this. 21. 21. You don't see any pits or tripwires or anything that would indicate that this is protected.
Like any man-made traps or any humanoid traps like goblins, anything like that. You don't see anything. Okay. May I make a nature check on the fungus? Sure. 13. You have a negative one on nature too? I do. It's my wisdom. It's not so high. Okay. That makes sense. This just looks to be from the waterfall. It doesn't appear to be poisonous and it doesn't appear to be toxic in any way. It just appears to be kind of a cross between moss and just general growth. Okay. So I sniff on it. Are the rubies themselves magical or are they just an ingredient for magic? They basically go in the eye sockets of the...
One of the big differences between the originally crafted Warforge from Uminyiro and the ones from the Overwatch... The ones in Uminyiro were crafted with sapphire because that's something they had an abundance of on the East Coast. Whereas the West Coast, it's lots of rubies. So the Uminyiro Warforge would have blue eyes and the majority of the Overwatch ones would have red eyes. You just did that after the art book. But would they give off some sort of magic like if I did an arcana check? Not really, no. By themselves, they're pretty much just pretty gems.
Yeah. Alright. Looks like everything's gonna be... Okay, I'm scared. Let's do it anyway though. Let's just move on. You got 20 to that. Okay. So you did an arcana check anyway just to... Yeah, just because. It's my highest one. Why not? Oh, wow. And that's how you knew about that. You're not picking up anything magical in the area. You're not... nothing giving off any mojo that you can pick up. But just up ahead of you is a bit of a fork in the road. Split the party, guys. Yeah, let's do that. Awesome. Now, you have an option of going left, right, or straight. Well, do we split the party?
Oh, wait, no. No, certainly not. I'm under the impression we have to go left. I kind of want to go right just because it's first, and in video games I always go through the first one because the last one you go through is the one that'll take you to the boss. Well, we have to go through and find as much as we can. The more we find, the better off we're gonna look. Let's just go through each one as we find them. That makes sense. Okay. Right first. Alright, so you guys are hanging a right. Do me a favor. Cat, roll a perception check. Awesome. Nineteen. Nineteen.
Okay, up ahead. You're seeing where the room opens up. Like, there's a thin corridor, and then you can kind of peer up ahead and see where the room starts to open up a bit. Another thing you're noticing is the ground is covered in holes. It looks like they just drop straight on through. So my advice would be not to fall in any one of them. If you guys would like to move ahead into the next room here, it kind of opens up. Okay, I'm gonna pull out my war hammer if I don't already have it out because this seems suspicious. I would imagine you guys have your weapons drawn.
Let's do this. You rolled a nineteen perception. And that was not quite high enough to spot these critters in the room with you. So let me show you what you guys are going to be fighting here. Like, you missed it by one. I'm disappointed. What is that? A cave fisher spiker? First global characters are supposed to kill rats. No, no, no. You guys... Nah. You guys won't be killing rats or bats or any small vermin. You're going after big game today. So you walk into this open kind of area in the cavern and it's deathly silent except for this skittering sound. This kind of a "chk-chk-chk-chk-chk".
Like, you can hear it. But you don't see them until it's too late. So what's going to happen is we're going to roll initiative in just a moment. But these guys are going to get a surprise round against you. You kind of didn't see this coming. They just kind of crawled out of their holes and they started advancing towards you. So let's do number seven first. One, two, three, four, five. Right up next to Gavin here. These things are quick little buggers too. They just kind of skitter across the floor. You can kind of see some of them in the darkness. Just your torches are reflecting off there.
They've kind of got like shiny carapaces. Ah. Yeah, he is right... And... They have pinchers and what appear to be like filaments. So it looks like they can generate webbing of some sort. Number seven is going to wander right up and attack Gavin. A fifteen to your reflex. Reflexes sixteen. Oh, so that will miss. So, awesome. And that will bring us to number two. Just going to saunter up here next to Una and make the same attack. Actually, you know what? No. He's going to try and wrap you up with some webbing here. Oh, okay. Fourteen to your reflex. Oh yeah, my reflex is thirteen.
Okay, so... I'm just so fucked. So this little bugger is going to wander up and just start spraying you down. Just kind of spraying you down with this webbing. And it's just this nasty, kind of a gooey, sticky, like, string. He silly stringed you. Yes. Except this silly string causes you to be immobilized and you're going to take five damage save ends. Okay. So, not so great. So five damage every turn until save ends. That will bring about number three. Who is just going to wander up again and that expels both his move actions. Number four. Three, four, five, six.
Kind of back up his buddies. Number five. Kind of got a conga line of death going here and... Dun dun dun dun dun. Death. Wait, I'm getting ready to play Red Rover. Number one who is standing right next to Una the entire time is going to use his pincher attack. And that... wow, that's a 23 versus your AC. I'm pretty sure that hits. Oh, okay. Yeah, that hits. Christ. One d10 plus three is seven, so seven damage. Okay, incense. Which takes you down to 21. What the... And number six. Who is having a little trouble getting in here. One, two, three, four. There we go. He's going to do the same thing with his pincers against Fi. 22 versus your AC.
Wow. That's a 5. 12. 12 damage. Oh, you can take that off yourself. Go ahead and let me add to the party and you guys roll your initiative there. If you go to the initiative track and just click the dice. There we go. You got your bearings now. These bugs are attacking. It's... it's... it's a serious business. Let's see here. Seven is going to get his turn again. He's going to use his pinchers against Gavin. Alright. 12 versus your AC. That'll miss. And that brings up number two. He's going to shift forward one and take a swing against Marcus. Yeah, let's do... let's do pincers.
Nine. That's a crit one. Never mind. Marcus, your turn. Okay. I move one step forward. Does he get an opportunity to attack? Uh, no. If you're shifting, you're fine. Yeah, I can shift there. Okay. Yep. I will do that. And I will take a shot with weapon of... Looks like divination. Let's cut off. I'm the guy who just swung at me. So everybody who is next to me... Right now... this isn't until the end of my turn. So while you're adjacent to me, you get plus two to all defenses. So huddle up close, folks. And I rolled a five, so I didn't hit anybody, but... The effect still stands.
The effect still stands. Everybody who can get around me gets a plus two to defense. Awesome. Thank you. Great. So the bug's still standing, but you're... I mean, everyone gets a plus two, so that's pretty awesome. Number three. He is going to shift up one... And use his pinchers against Gavin, and that's a plus two for... So yeah, Ryan, another... Natural one. Wow. Awesome. Gavin, your turn. Three of them in a row. It's a bummer he moved up, because he would have been great where he was. That's okay. Someone is typing like mad. Sorry, my thing's right by the keyboard.
I'll mute from now on. Oh, that's cool. So, Gavin, your turn. Mm-hmm. What I'm going to do, I'm going to commander's strike. In essence, I'm going to basically harry number three. Start cutting at it, but none of the attacks will really be effective, just enough to distract it. But I'm going to have Una take the shot against number three with a melee basic attack. Can Una? She's immobilized. She is immobilized, but she can still attack. She just can't walk around. Oh, okay. I would love for her to flank and get it, but yeah. Sixteen versus AC will hit. Excellent.
Oh, with your damage, please add my intelligence modifier, which is a plus three. Okay, seven. Commander's strike. Fuck yeah. So that's four damage. Plus three more for my intelligence modifier. Yep. Hold on one second. Here we go. Okay, so four damage, seven. Okay, so seven damage in total. Boom. Number four's turn. Number four is going to shift over here and take a swing at Gavin with his pinchers. Twenty-seven, that'll hit. And, ooh, wow, max damage. Thirteen damage. So these things really got a taste for Gavin. For whatever reason, they really won. Whoops, we both did the health drop.
I'll put back thirteen. Oh, sorry, that's the force I have at my fault. Let's see, number five. Number five's going to try and film its spike. Actually, no. No, no, no, just pinchers. Let's just do pinchers. See how that works. Eighteen to Gavin. I'm going to go ahead and use vengeance as mine. Actually, no, he did not hit me, so never mind. Nineteen AC. Oh, yeah, that's right. Shoot. Eight. Plus two. Yeah, good going on a plus two. Thank goodness. Fee, your turn. Okay, if I use unbalanced and trick, it says you shift up to two squares. I don't have to shift anywhere, do I?
To actually use it. Yeah, it says up two, so you don't need to shift. Thank you. Well, I will use that with... So the next time... The next time I hit an enemy with a melee basic attack, I can get prone. Okay. And then if it's prone, I get... Anyone trying to go for it gets combat advantage, do they? Yeah, well, you're going to get... Yeah, if you're attacking a prone critter, yeah. Okay, cool. Okay, so I will do melee basic against that one, then. The one right in front of you? Yep, yep. So that's six. Okay, cool. Sixteen, what? Yep, sixteen. Awesome. And damage...
That's eleven. Awesome. So, okay. You're doing eleven damage and you're not getting prone. Yep, yep. So let's make him prone. Bam! You've knocked him clean on his ass. If you actually put it this point, because he is prone, you could follow up and get your sneak attack damage, too. I thought that was only if they were... If I had combat advantage when I made my melee basic attack. Oh, you didn't the first time you swung, but now the second strike, we decided to take another one now that it's prone, you have combat advantage. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I don't get a...
Yeah, unless I use action point, I don't get a second strike. So, you're talking about backstab, right? Yeah, well, actually just standard sneak. So, no bonus damage is what I'm saying. No, no. Okay. Uh, Una. Alrighty. I'm gonna use virtuous strike. That'll give me a plus two to my saving throw. When I make it... Okay. Uh, nine. Okay, well, well, you're... Yeah, well, your saving throw will come at the end. Uh, okay. I did not hit, I'm guessing. Yeah, that didn't... That totally didn't hit. I don't know. I'm gonna use my miner, lay on hands on Gavin. Oh, okay, cool.
Thank you. And lay on hands, let's see here. Use a power of number 10. Actually, you may want to wait on that since you can only get it twice in a day. Okay. You don't... You have to have it if you don't want. Oh. Now he's thinking about it. Yeah, I'm not up, then. One less person. I'm holding the line, yeah, I'll go ahead and take the little hands, please. Thank you. Okay, I'll lay my sticky, my covert hand on you. Really cool. It's really uncomfortable. So, you are gonna spend a healing surge. Alright. And that will allow Gavin to heal. That just heals for the value of his healing surge, I believe, right?
Yes. As if he spent a healing surge, you must have... Okay, so what is your surge value there, Gavin? Mine is... Not this. It's under powers. No, it's not powers, it's under details. I've been listening. Five. Five. Thank you. Oh, good god, yeah. So, you regain five hit points. Okay. And that's it for you, Una? Yes, yeah, I'm done. Okay, that brings us back to Spiker 1. He's gonna use his pinchers on Una. And... 22. Oh, dang it, I get a plus two, but it still hits. Yeah. Six damage. I'll take that off. Okay. And that'll bring up Spiker number six, who uses his move action to stand up.
And for knocking him on his ass, he's gonna attack the... With his pinchers. Eleven to your AC. Nope. Totally gonna miss, yeah, yeah, yeah. Jadzia! Alright. As a minor action, I'm going to use my warlock's curse against number six. Um... Just doing a nature check, kind of as a standard action or minor action? Oh, that's a standard. Okay, that's what I thought. I'm just gonna use Elder Splash anyway, I was just curious. You may want to take a five foot step back, because you'll get struck. Oh, that's a good point. I'll do that at the end, because you can move at the end, right?
You want to do it beforehand. But then I'll be shooting through Fi. No, no, no, if you're shooting diagonally, you're fine. Okay. You're shooting number six, right? Yeah. You're fine. Okay. So that was an 18 against his reflex. Oh yeah, that'll totally hit. Woo! That's gonna be ten damage, plus I'm not sure, do I get to roll a 1d6 for my warlock curse? Yes. Let me pull up my dice roller, since it doesn't have one automatically. There we go, and whoa. And that's a one! Eleven whole damage. Still, extra damage is extra damage. Yeah. Uh, you have bloodied him. No! Uh, is that it for your turn?
Yes. Okay, cool. And that will bring us back to the top of the order, so seven, hmm. Saving throw? Oh yeah, Una. Oh yeah, Una, jeez. Totally forgot about your saving throw. Okay, d20 plus two. Just d20. I get the plus two before him. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, well that's six. That looks like six. Yeah, okay, fuck. Okay, take five damage. Number seven is going to lunge forward and use his pincers against Gavin. That's an eleven against your AC, totally gonna miss. You expertly dodged that shit? Yeah, we'll say that's what happened. Yeah, we'll say, or he's really clumsy, I mean it's one or the other.
One of you is awesome, one of you sucks, that's the plan. Clearly, I'm awesome. Number two is going to try and use his filament wrap against Narmarkus. And that is going to be a sixteen versus your reflex. Yeah, that's gonna get me. Okay, so you are, you're immobilized and you're gonna get, I forgot to take five damage away from Una. I took it away. Thank you. And you're gonna get five damage each turn, save ends. Marcus, your turn. Alright, that might change what I have to do. We've got people who are far more injured than I am. Let's go with a healing strike.
And we will hit, let's see, which one is bloody? Number six. We're gonna shoot at him. Number six. Okay. Twelve. I still can't take anything. Yeah, that's what I meant. In addition, you or one ally within five squares can spend a healing surge, so, fee? Yeah, one surge of five squares. Yeah, one surge of five. There you go. Sixteen. Thank you. You're welcome. Can I still use an at willpower? No, I'm right. Yeah, nope, I'm done then. You can still do a minor for a healing word, man. I don't think we're in that bad of shape yet. Okay. Una maybe, but it's a little bit deep.
I'm not complaining, I'm just gonna lead up my war hammer and bleed. Alright, Una, you can, I'll throw a healing word on you. Another thing, Marcus? Yeah, cool, you can make another saving throw. Part of your mark. I haven't made one yet, so. Alright, I saved. You are no remobilized. Fuck you, dude. It's healing time. Healing time. Two die six plus six. There you go, Una. I have twelve hit points back. Ooh, thank you. And your healing surge. Oh, yeah, and your healing surge. Okay, so. So you just go to plus. Shit, nineteen heal points. Yeah. Rapid clicking. You're fully healthy.
Oh, I have to fault, that feels good. Okay, thank you very much. Very nice. Okay. That'll bring up number three. These little cave spikers. Well, he's totally not digging it. He's gonna swing at, you know what? No, he's gonna swing at Gavin with his pinchers. Alright. Wow, twenty six. That will totally hit. That's a good hit. Oh, actually, that's worthwhile for me to go vengeance. This is mine. Okay. So I activate that one because he hit me. I make a basic attack against that enemy. And then one ally within five squares. Could theoretically move their speed and make the hit against him too, but we'll see what I can do about that.
Which number hit me again, please? Three. Number three. Okay, then. Let's see. Number three is which corner? There it is. Okay, so I'll try to hit it and then Uno will hit it and then we'll resolve that damage of six. Sounds good. Alright, so let's melee basic attack. So yeah, he hits me, I make him overextend and strike out against him. That's a sixteen to hit. That'll hit him. Alright, rolling damage. Six damage. Six damage, okay. And then Uno, please also strike at him. Seventeen. Seventeen will hit. Great. Damage of six. Another six damage. Which, if my calculations are correct, will bloody it.
Outstanding. Well, and then I take the blow of six damage. Okay, so you can shave that off. And guess what? It's Gavin's turn. Alright. I will go ahead and use an inspiring word for myself to get a little more healing. Like, "Oh, I'm surrounded. That means I can attack in every direction." And now I will give my inspiring word to myself and that is Healing Surge and regain one die six additional hit points and roll out. Now I gain one additional hit point and I'll spend a Healing Surge to gain the arrest. So I get some six up. Plus one bonus value adjust. Okay, so I am out of bloody now.
Next, I'm going to use Bull Rush against number four and attempt to shove him into the hole. Ooh. So my strength modifier plus four, so d20 plus four. Because I am buff. And I roll. And I got a 20 out of five. That will hit. And then I guess he makes the saving, right? To try to make sure he doesn't fall in the hole. Since I can shove him into there, theoretically since it's basically a theoretically fatal thing, then it would be a standard check on a ten or better. He doesn't fall in the hole. But he falls prone. Yeah, we'll just do that then. Alright. Oh, wow, that's a 20.
At least he's prone. Yes, he's still prone. He's prone. And let's see what else can I do since... Yeah, that's going to be my turn. Alright, so it's his turn. He's going to use his move action to stand up. Alright. So he's no longer prone. You guys are not getting the benefits of these things being prone. That sucks. But you pissed it off. Like that's... Yeah, totally. So he's going to go ahead and... Hmm. He's going to train filament wrap you. Oh, God. 25. That's a good hit. That'll totally... So you are immobilized and sticky. Until savings. He no changed there. Number five.
Where's number five? There he is. Seeing that you are wrapped up in easy prey, he's going to use his pincers against you. 21. And that'll be 10 damage. Alright, take it off. So these bugs are not playing around with you guys. Fi, your turn. Okay. Una is... unable to move. Could I still shift through her? How many do you get to shift? Well, I'm thinking about next turn. But... Obviously there's no point in making the move that I want to do... this turn if I can't shift through her next turn. I mean, you can only move one space at a time is the thing. So that's not really shifting.
If you're shifting through, that'll be two spaces. Well, because my ambulance gives me... Oh, you can move? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You can still shift through her. You can shift through teammates, yeah. I was just trying to... I forgot you got two spaces for a shift. Yeah. Okay, well I want to shift up to here. And use Unbalancing Trick against Spiker 2. Alrighty. Basic. There we go. 26. 26 Will-Head. Good head. Ten damage. And it's prone. Ten damage and you have knocked it on its ass. Yep. Congratulations. Is that all you want to do? Yep, for now. Oona, your turn. Okay, I'm going to do Virtuous Strike again, try and get that.
My saving throw is 16. Who are you targeting here? I'm targeting the bloodied one, who's the oven? Okay, that totally hits. I think you made your saving throw already. I have to make one every turn, I think. No, no, no. You know what you're making? You're mobilized. Oh, oh, I'm done? I think you should flank with Fi and then smash her with something a little more crunchy. I don't have anything more crunchy. Oh. Hardened Strike? Same stuff, I think. Yeah. A little bit of auto-market with your challenge. Back for this. Which is better. I'm already hit with this, I might as well just stay with it.
It has the same damage as Hardened Strike. And I can throw on Divine Challenge as a minor. Minor. Yeah. Okay. Damage? Damage. 13. Nice! Good hit. Very, very nice. This thing's all wobbly-legged now. You really slammed it with your hammer and it's just kind of like trying to... Like it's spreading its six legs out, trying to get its balance again. Oona's done her turn, right? Yeah. I'm gonna throw a Divine Challenge on... I guess the bloody one next to Gavin. I don't want Gavin taking any more damage than he has to. Okay. That's excellent. Thank you. That leads us back to number one here, who is totally gonna use his pincers against Oona. 14, maybe not.
Bring it, bitch. Yeah. Number six. So you're whittling these guys down a bit. They're tough little buggers, no pun intended. Let's see. Pincers. Number six is gonna use pincers against Gavin, who is still immobilized. And he's gonna get his two for flanking. So that's a 19. Seriously. Dang it, I'm still not under the +2 bonus that Mark has gave us. 19 is gonna hit me. Shit. Okay. And damage four. Oh my god. That is exactly enough to drop me down. That is exactly enough to knock you out. Wow. Okay. Marcus! Jancia, your turn. Alright. I felt like I couldn't see him from where I was.
I'm going to hit number six again with another... Fate of the Void. I mean, Eldritch Blast. Hmm. Seven is gonna miss. That's an... Are you done your turn? Um... Yeah, I guess so. I don't have anything minor I can really do. Okay, so that'll bring us back to the top of the order, which is seven again. Let's see. Gavin is down, so seven has got no one to hit in the area. So, he's gonna start shifting away, I guess. Like, he's going to shift away and then use his other move to walk up here... Scuttle up here next to Una. And that'll end his turn. Let's see here. Cave Spiker number two is prone, if I remember correctly.
So, he's gonna stand up. Have you got to hit a prone enemy yet? Nope. That sucks. One of these times you're gonna have to combo with an action point, I'm thinking, and then hit that prone person and then get the extra hit off. He's gonna use his pincers on Fi, and that's a 21, so... Oh no. Wow, max damage. 13 damage. Marcus! Speaking of max damage... I guess he wants to have me do the Healing Word earlier. Yeah. If you bring me up, I can bring other people up too, on my turn. Let's see, I've already used Healing Word. Sorry. You got two of them per counter. Oh, I do?
I thought I had one, okay. You get two. I also have three persons. That's alright, I'll use Healing Word. We'll bring Gavin back up. Oh, thank you. With your mighty two die six plus six. Eleven. And your Healing Surge. Okay, yes, I will do that right now. Use Surge, add eleven bonus, and adjust. And I'm back. I'm back alive. You're back in the game. So, that is the last Healing Word for you. Correct. It's checked off. Alrighty. So, who would you like to try and hit? What do you want to do? Uh, well, I'm out, so. You know what, I'll use Weapon of Divine, whatever it is, because I can't read the whole thing.
It's all blacked out. And let's hit the bloody number three. That will also give everybody who is adjacent to me plus two defense until my next turn, so. Alright. Seven. I still have not rolled above a four on an attack roll since the start of the practice round, so. Marcus is a helper, not a hitter. The best roll of the whole game has been me checking for magic. I'm taking this pacifist thing seriously evidently. Um, do you want to move or anything? Um, no, I'm going to stay there because I'm kind of clogging up the pathway to the warlock, so. Okay. That will bring up number three.
For those of you who can't see at home, these guys are completely surrounded by these bugs. Um, let's see here. Number trace. Um. Well, you know what? Gavin's an easy target, still laying on the ground and a flanking bonus, so let's try some pincers here against Gavin. Didn't I call out number three? You did. So it has to attack you? Yes. Well, it doesn't have to attack you, it just chooses to ignore you, but then you get a hit against it, so. Actually, he automatically gets nine damage. Oh, as soon as he makes an attack against something else? That's right.
Um. Well then, that swing is against him. That's a crit one anyway, so. [Laughter] Uh, so he's an idiot and misses. Uh, Gavin, your turn. Did he take nine damage? Well, he was swinging against Una. It doesn't... Oh, I'm a dork. No, no, no. Okay, I will go ahead and, well, I'm mobilized, so I'm down. Oh, you can't stand up, you physically... Oh my god. I can't take my back. He's wriggling around on the ground, like, throwing... You can take five damage, though. Oh, well thank you. Does he get to take a save? At the end of his turn, yes. Yes. So now, yeah, I guess it'd be the...
Now I'm bloodied again. [Laughter] So I picture you're all wrapped up in this sticky goo, then you fall down, and now you're stuck to the floor. You can't get up. [Laughter] First thing I'm gonna do, Inspiring Word over at Fi. Roll one die six. Go ahead and make a... From the ground. Yep. I'll yell over, "Take these things down!" And, uh, go ahead and take five additional hit points in addition to your surge value. Ooh, okay. Uh, surge... Surge plus five. Yes. Ten... There you go. Awesome. Back up to thirteen. Thank you very much. Absolutely. Okay, now, question.
Should we take on Spiker number three or Spiker number six, 'cause... Well, they're both bloodied, but I really want to take them out. Three is closer to death, I think. Three is closer to death. Okay. That's the impression I get. Um, actually, since I can't really hit as well on my belly, I'm gonna go ahead and do a Commander Strike. I'm gonna, you know, yell at number three, "Yo, double-uglier!" Wait a minute. Number three just took his turn. Number six still has an attack coming up. Ooh, true. So if you hit number six and can take him down, that takes one out of the fight.
Very good point. Practically, though, um, the attack I'm gonna do is Commander Strike, so I'm actually gonna have Una swing in my stead so there is no negative. Okay. As opposed to yourself, which unfortunately hasn't shown a great deal of martial prowess. You're a great man, but, um, yeah. She hits harder. That's mean but fair. That's very fair. All right, so Commander Strike, please go ahead and do that. Thirteen! That'll miss. Damn it. He just vouched for you. I'm so sorry. Oh, God. What else can I do? Is there anything else? Now that my teammates have failed.
Aww. No, no. I believe that is the end of my turn. You inspire us there, leader. Just for a real mission. My turn is over. I pictured like an ace Ventura crawling around the switch in the wall behind you. Just like doing a bunch of these exaggerated movements. I'm doing the worm. Yeah. How about you roll a saving throw there, Gavin? I would like to do that, thank you. Oh, yeah, he used the healing word on me, actually, so as soon as my eyes snapped open, I get to roll that from before. Oh, well. It didn't affect anything. Go ahead and roll. Well, okay. And I'm now no longer immobilized.
You are no longer immobilized, no longer taking ongoing damage. I guess I could have stood. I mean, we can say that. Go ahead. If you want to stand up, then stand up. I stand, please. But I still would have made, you know, "Hey, you please hit her," you know. Yeah, I mean, yeah. Let's see here. Number four. Actually, one more thing. I apologize. I would like to go ahead and use my action point and use my healing surge so that I can try to stay alive a little longer. Okay, that's probably a good plan. Yeah, so action point. Down and then healing surge. Give that to me.
Go ahead. I'll adjust things while I'm working on this. Wait a second. How do you use a healing surge on yourself? Yes. Basically, because I'm turtling up as well, so I get another plus two AC to everything, because I'm basically going to full defense mode. As part of the second wind. That's what it is. Okay, that's what I was going to say. How do you use second wind? I'm second wind. Unless you're using second wind, I don't see how you're doing that. Okay, just clarifying. You know what? Number four is going to use filament wrap on Gavin. Oh. Bring it. Seventeen to reflex.
Oh, oh, oh. Actually, I'm okay. It's a reflex strike. I'm at 17. I got a plus two bonus from me turtling up from my... You do. Yeah, from my healing. And a plus two from me. Oh, yes. I think that was for one turn. Nope. Well, no, because I just used the attack again. You just used it again. Okay, cool. Cool, cool, cool. Very nice. Wow. I'm going to have to have a checklist of effects and stuff for you guys. You're a team that uses a lot of effects. We do. We're cool kids. And number five is going to use filament wrap on Gavin. Twenty five. Oh, that will hit. Twenty five has got me.
Slop back down the floor. No, that's cool. I'm mobilized. I'm standing this time. Okay. You just got this big pile of goo stuck to his feet and can't move. Damn these things. Okay, doggy. Do we want me here or the on the other side of the. Yeah, flanking stick and spank. Well, I don't think I'll be flanking on. You won't be thinking right there. Crap. But obviously from from that point, I'll be able to come out behind and I'll be able to flank with who now? Yeah. Other people eventually. Okay, so that is unbalanced and trick. So shift there and just another melee basic.
Good hit. Twenty three hits against two again. Number two. Yeah. And then eight. Eight. Good hit. Very nice. Okay. Anything else you want to do? Nope. That's everything that brings to. I was going to say it'll be prone. Oh, that's right. Unbalancing trick. My bad. Let's make it prone and oh, no. Your turn. Okay. I didn't strike. Just going to fuck up the bloody one. 24 24 will definitely hit a damage for four is just enough to kill it. Oh, yes. Yes. Yeah. First bug is down. Fucking bug off my way. One down, six to go. We managed to kill one whole bug. Well, Kevin would crack snuckles if he could move.
It wasn't completely stuck. Okay. And then I'm going to shift there and then I'm done. Very nice. Nice. This brings us back to number one. Who? You know what? Might as well take a stab at fee. No. Standing right next to him and all. Let's use filament wrap. Oh, 21 versus your reflex. Yeah. Oh, reflex. So probably does, but yeah. Yep. Yeah. Sadly. So you are immobilized and will take five damage each turn savings. Damn it. That seems to be their go to move. They like to not have you move around so much and then start to try and eat you. Number six. Oh, yeah. Gavin's wrapped up right in front of him.
That is dinner time. Ladies and gentlemen, pincers to Gavin. 25. These guys are rolling high tonight. This is harsh. Yes. That will punch through all of my stack defenses right now. I've only got only a 23. They're the anti-Marcus when it comes to attacks. That's pretty cool. And max damage again. Ah. Do you want that man hands? 13. Yeah, I want that please. Okay. We'll get that going in your direction. Okay. 15 damage to Gavin, which will bring him down to three and Jadzia. All right. I am going to do dire radiance against number six. Okay. I'm going to do that. 24.
Oh, shoot. 24 will hit. Fortitude. Yep. Bye, kid. All right. And then that. So nine and then six. Yeah. Guess what? Good hit. 15 damage. Dead. Yes. Awesome. Yay. And you've got a. And you've got a boom coming to you. That's right. Guys, step it up. Only the chick can feel bugs. You know, get a whole plus one bonus next turn. I don't feel emasculated. Everybody's doing great. All right. And with him gone, I'm going to move up here. Nice. So I can get an option with that Marcus goodness that I've been missing out on. You haven't needed it either. So number seven is going to shift inward here in between everything, and he's going to take a stab at Gavin, who looks to be a little weaker than everyone else right now.
So pincers. 15. Nope. No. Denied. Okay. Lucky me. Spiker number two is prone. He is going to use his move action to stand. And since he's standing right next to him and he's all wrapped up and tasty, looking like some sort of rogue burrito. He is going to use pincers. 15. No. That's against AC, isn't it? Yep. Nope. That misses. That totally misses. Marcus, your turn. Well, let's go with the weapon of divine, whatever it is again. Say divination. Divination. Well, it's no, it is divine something. It's divine dot dot. Well, let's look it up so that we can. I'll make it up as I go along.
How's that? That's a power. I like divine waffles. There we go. Yeah. Divine waffles. It's a breakfast attack. My blueberries do a plus one. My blueberry waffle has a first name. Bologna waffle sounds terrible. That sounds really gross. You're attacking who now, Marcus? Neither two nor seven have been hit yet, so I might as well just go against seven. And 15. That'll hit. Wait, what? You hit an enemy. I'm sorry, let me repeat that again. Marcus hit an enemy. Is that even allowed? That was weird. One of the D&D deities themselves stepped forward and allowed Marcus to hit an enemy.
Now this is the part where I roll this thing called damage, right? Yes. Traditionally, yes. 13. 13 damage. That is highly respectable, man. Excellent hit. And of course everybody standing around me gets plus two to defenses again. Nice. Gavin needs that desperately. Speaking of which, Gavin, your turn. And Gavin falls prone. Taking five points of damage from him being wrapped up. Gavin is down for the second time in this fight. As my standard action, I will headbutt the dirt. Pretty much. Or captain my captain. Alright everybody, following his example, face plant.
You are the most inspiring leader since Zak Brannigan, did you know that? My name's Troy McClure. Weekly gif, fall to the ground. Spiker number four. This is terrible. I'm going to do some power squats while you guys take out these bugs. I'm going to actually push up the world. One, two. He wakes up, he's going to ask us, "What fool put dirt on the walls?" Spiker number four is going to use his pincers against Una. Twenty-seven. And six damage. Every time I look, Una's back to full health. I'm just magical in my way. So six damage to you. And cave spiker number five.
He's going to, you know what, he's going to, wait a second. Oh no, no, no, there's some choice meals up here, so spiker five is going to move up. And let's take a swing at Marcus. Pincers against Marcus. Eleven. Okay. Never mind. Fee, your turn. You're still wrapped up, so take five damage. Okie dokie. Five. There you go. Okay. Do I... I don't get combat advantage with them, are they a leader who's on the ground? I'm afraid that he's not doing much to help with the whole flanking an enemy. Maybe dinner? Distracting him? And as I'm immobilized, I don't get a move turn, do I?
No. So I can't use any of my tricks? No, that kind of puts a hamper on your dodging and moving. Okie dokie. Well, I'll just attack number two. Eleven. That's totally going to miss, I'm sorry. That's okay. Fair enough. I was just going to ask, are any of you guys tweeting about this on your character accounts by any chance? Oh yeah. Those are pretty good postings going on. Marcus is all over that. Dual monitors help. Yes. I've got one with the Twitter and then the map above that. Very nice. Wow. Okay, never mind. You guys are sick. So is that it for you? Yep. Okay. Oona, your turn.
Alrighty. I'm going to pop out an encounter here and do Valorous Smite, which is going to cast that Divine Sanction on every enemy within three squares of me, so all the bugs. Okay. And let's roll that. 25. And I'm attacking, let's do the one that's smushed between me, Fie, and Marcus. So seven. Additionally, let me know who you're targeting first, then make a swing. Fuck. Damage. 18. Holy shit. That will kill Spiker Summit. Fuck yeah. Okay. Beautiful. And then I'm going to pop Land Hands. On Gaff, I imagine? Yeah. So that's your last Land Hands. I'm going to take my hands on a sticky corpse, but get the fuck up.
Yeah, I sort of like come conscious and I start hearing "the fuck up." I'm like "uh?" Alright, use Surge. Adjust. Which one of y'all kicked me? All of us. So you're up to five hit points. Narcolepsy. Is that it for Una? Yeah. Alright. Cave Spiker number one. Now you said, what did you say? What about that attack targeted all the bugs, did you say? It puts Divine Sanction on all the bugs, so if they don't attack me, they take nine damage. Gotcha. Okay. It's officially marked minus two to anybody they attack. That isn't you. Yeah. Okay. So you have just screamed at all these bugs to just attack you, and they are paying attention.
Soberly. So, let's see here. Number one is going to shift away from Fi, shift down to Una, and let's do some Filament Wrap. Awesome. Let's wrap about some Filament. Seventeen to your reflex. Yup, Filamented. Okay, so you are once again restrained by this. Zerg silly string. Jetsuya, your turn. Alright. I am going to use Diabolic Grasp on number five. Okay. That's gonna be a twenty, I guess. Twenty-five? Sport. Twenty will hit whenever he's got. Whee! Small technical thing, you may want to take a five foot step back and then curse and then do the thing. So, it's not chess though, thankfully.
I don't think the DM is going to freak out. Maybe up here I'm thinking just like a diagonal move. That's cool. Okay, let's pretend I curse. Curse. Alright, so seven plus three, and ten. And Diabolic Grasp actually moved him too, so that's gonna go, I'm gonna put him over here. Is that okay with everyone? That guy right there? Nice. Sure, that works well for me. So, you pushed him back one square away from the... Wait, I can move him two squares. I'm gonna move him all the way back here then. Alright. Nice. Actually, you're in tilt, yeah. Never mind, I'm a dork. That'll do it for Jetsuya.
Um, yes. Good move. Okay, leads us back to... Oh, Jason. Yes. I did not rob my saving tree. Oh, well then what were you saving for? Just a flat D20. Flat D20. Oh, nah. Not quite good enough. Man. That brings us back to Spiker 2, who is eyeballing you like you look tasty. Uh, another pinch of your tatty. Yes I do. He's gonna try and take another bite out of you. Crit one, never mind. If he's a tiny sanction... Oh! I think he takes damage. That's right, Una. You rock. He takes that damage. Nine. Nine damage. Holy crap. So guess what? He is definitely bloodied. Wow. Marcus, your turn.
Alright, I'm going to shift one here. And we'll take a... Oof, I can't hit bloodied opponents. So I will take a shot at Cave Fisher 1. That's because you have pacifism? Pacifist, yeah. God dammit. I don't like to hurt people who are already hurt. Even though they're not, but you can bloody them, that's okay. Yeah, once they're bloodied then you guys get to finish them off. I just smack them around and leave the rest to you. So we'll go after... Is there Fisher 1 there? Yeah, Spiker 1. Divine Protection. You know what? Yeah, with Weapon of Divine Protection. That's a 13.
Oh, that's a miss. That's a miss. Alright, well, at least now I've still added the +2 to defense to everybody around me. Yeah, good move. Gavin, you're on the floor. Yes I am. Alright, I think we're going to, same as before, I'm basically going to distract Cave Fisher Spiker #4. And, let's see, I don't think it's risk to try to jump past him and take an attack of opportunity. I'm just not healthy enough right now. So, what I'm going to do is... If you trip on a rock you're going to be unconscious again. Yeah, you're at 5 health. That's not great. Not really.
I'm going to use Intuitive Strike against #4, please. Uh, okay. It's basically, it's like a melee basic with some fun riders. It's a 14 to strike. That is going to miss. Oh wait, will! Yes, no, that hits will. Will power, that's right. It's a will power. Thank you. And I do my damage, and, so it looks like a 6. And then, the benefit is the next ally who attacks Spiker #4 will have combat advantage against it. And we'll get a +2 power bonus to the attack roll. So, basically an extra 4 bonus to strike. I've demoralized it. Fuck yeah. Very nice. Is that going to wrap it up for Gavin?
That's going to wrap it up for Gavin. Well, Spiker #4, don't take too kindly. Oh wait, wait a second, you're still wrapped. So firstly take, oh wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Oh crap. I hate to be this guy, Gavin. You would have taken 5 damage at the beginning of that turn. As soon as I woke up? Ouch. Yeah, so that means the attack never happened. Okay. So let's take back time and I'll basically fall prone again. She woke me up. So now I'm #3, I go unconscious. Wow. Kick Gavin's corpse. Gently, but angrily. This is rough. I'm so sorry. Roll a saving throw though. Let's see if you're not wrapped.
Dead, right. I forgot about that. Save vs. Death. 13, I'm stable. Well now, hold on, hold on, hold on. Let's roll a saving throw against the wrapping first. Okay, that's 13. Okay, so you're no longer, let's do that. You're no longer immobilized, you're no longer wrapped. Let's take that off of you quickly. Okay. So that means you would have done, okay, so now roll a death saving throw. 16. 16, so you're stabilized. Okay. I'm not getting any worse. As the battle goes on, I don't know. That's debatable. Number 4, okay, he's not going to swing at you because you're dying.
Spiker number 4 is going to try and take a chunk out of Una though, with his pincers. And that'll be 21. That does not hit because I have the pluses from Marcus. Nice. Thank you, Marcus. I have my uses. Number 5 is pushed clean across the room here. He's going to scuttle forward and try and take a chunk out of Una with his pincers. 11, that's totally going to miss. And that brings us to Fe. Okay, I'm going to take 5 damage. Yes. There you go. That'll put you down to 3. Okay, I'm going to neck one of my potions. How do you have potions? I put them in my character thing and I told you about them.
For the level 1 version? Yeah. The level 5 versions would have 3 potions. Okay, well, you didn't say no to it, so I thought it was fine. That's hilarious. Let's go with it. Actually, it looks like Marcus has a potion as well. I mean, one potion? That's fine. Each of you can have one potion. That's fine. Three is a bit excessive for level 1 characters. Let's not go crazy. Wait, do we each have one potion? That's a thing? Yeah. Is that a promise? Okay. I'll take that. Pour it down Gavin's fucking throat. So now collectively we have 5 potions instead of the 3 that he was carrying.
No, that's fine. If it's each one of you that has one, fine. One of you has 3 is ridiculous because that means everyone's going to want potions. That'll eat from the ground. Just heal the juice and then bust the bottle over his head. So is that... it says 1/8+1 but it expends a healing surge. Yes, the potions expend a healing surge. Thank you. So would that just be the adjust HP or would it be the use surge? Well, what you do is you can go into your status and just tick down one surge and then go adjust your healing manually. Okie dokie. I have to roll the dice manually.
Yes. 1d8+1. Yeah, the level 1 healing potions aren't great. I mean, they have a potential to be okay, but you're usually not going to roll 9 worth of hit points. Fair enough. If it's a low... 6. So 6, that's pretty good. Yeah. Keep you alive for another turn. And it's a minor action too. Yeah, so that brings you back up to 9. Yay! Okie dokie. And then... Melee basic against number 2... 20! That will hit. Yay! Modified 20 but still. And damage. Doing way better than I am. 11. 11 damage. Guess what? Dead. Yes! Yay! 3 to go. Finally my saving throw. 7. Nope. Afraid not. So yeah, the wrapping is still pretty tight around you.
Lona! Okay. I'm going to Virtuous Strike on... what number is it? Number 4. So let's do that. Yeah. 8. I'm afraid not. No. That's not going to do it. Okay. I guess... would it be a minor to use my healing potion that I apparently have on Gavin? Yes. You can do that because you're standing right next to him. Okay. I'm going to minor, yank his mouth open and just stick the bottle in it. He keeps taking that nap. He might want to put the bottle somewhere else. Oh man. You have D8+1 there, Gavin, and spend a healing surge. Okay. Does she roll it or do I? You know what? Because she's technically using the potion on you, you go ahead and roll it.
Okay. Let's do that. 1d8? Yep. 1d8+1. Okay. Beautiful. I'll take it. 2 health. 2 health, ladies and gentlemen. So Gavin's back up to 2 health. Yay! Which means I'm going to have to do the lather rinse repeat with my potion just to get him up to the point where he doesn't fall to his first again. You were in the first battle in this game. You already expended half of your potions. All of your healing words. All of your life was a puzzle. We'll be fine. Remember how proud we were that we defeated everyone else? And now like six bugs kick our ass. Group 2 fought a dragon.
This is to humble us. This is purely a play. Well, they were struggling fighting rats and you know. True. Alright. Takes time. Yeah. Of course. Oh right, saving throw too. Oh yeah, saving throw. I get a plus 2 because I used valor's might or whatnot. Virtuous strike. 18. You are free from the goo. Yay. Oh, did you take? Oh, hold on. Did you take off five hit points at the beginning of your turn? I did not. I will do that. Okay, cool. And that brings us to Spiker number one who is going to try to use filament wrap on Una. I'm not coming a mile away. 22. Okay. Okay, that's cool.
I'm just gonna kill everything. These bugs are dicks. So, you are again wrapped up and immobilized. Wow, Jancia, your turn. Alright, so hear me out here. If I go here, does that count as an opportunity attack? Because I'm going diagonally? Yeah. Okay, one second. However, one thing to note, you get that many spaces in and your one power kicks and your basically turn to shadow. Yeah. Then I'll give you another plus two to all your defenses. It may be worth it to try to take the hit. You are very healthy right now. And how much can I move? One second. Total of six, I think.
Six. Okay, thank you. Six. Yeah. You're lightly armored. Okay, I'll take the hit because, yeah, there's no way for me to get somewhere where I can hit people. So, one, two, three, four, five. So, go ahead and hit me. 19. Again, AC, 14 and I got a plus two. So, 16. Yeah, hit me. So, for six damage, no biggie. Oh man, I got hit for the first time in this entire game. For the whole six damage, I definitely have a reason to complain. Definitely. Alright. Very brave of you. I'm going to go ahead and do Dire Radiance again. Attack. Oh, again, sorry, the guy who hit me. Five.
Okay. And Warlock curse. Yeah. Got to remember to do that before I roll. So, that's not going to hit anyway? That's not going to hit anyway. I like your Moxie. I'll write that down. Well, let's check this out. First off, I just thought about this. Not a high number, but you have Heroic Effort and you do have your Doom of the Void plus two on that. So, it could land in a potential plus six to the roll and it's against his fortitude. That's true. I think I will use my Heroic Effort. Where is Doom of the Void though? Oh, that's just your power from your Pact Boon since you dropped a guy you cursed earlier.
Oh, right. I forgot about that. I even wrote it down. Okay, so I'm going to use my Heroic Effort and try to reroll that attack. Heroic Effort just gets a plus four to it. Oh, plus four. Yeah. And then another plus two from your Pact Boon. So, another six. Eight times eleven, twelve, eight. So, you are popping Heroic Effort. Yeah. And that is against fort? Yes. That's just going to miss. Oh, I'm sorry. That's okay. We're nearing the end of the encounter. I can take that hit. You tried. Yeah. One way or the other. Yeah, you guys are going to wrap this up. I'm sorry. Thanks, Dan.
Marcus. All right. Before I move, I got a -- God, I don't want to do this, but I got a feeling I'm going to have to. I can sidestep there without taking an opportunity attack. Right. If I do something that's a blast -- oh, crap. I can't even do that. That's not going to be enough. Well, you can't -- yeah, you'd be firing through teammates, too. No, no. Well, no, actually, my thing is what I want because it's you and each ally in the blast gain resistance five to all damage. That's right. Yeah, I'm sorry. I pop my moment of glory and use my daily on bugs. Three bugs, to be specific.
Yeah. So like that, right? That's your five? Blast five, yeah. But while I target one guy, one creature, and I move him back three, and I'm wondering, can I knock this one into the pit? Yeah. Yeah, you can. Do it, do it, do it. Yeah, do that, do that, do that. Make it happen. All right, here we go, guys. Just kill it because it would be cool. Yes. So blast five from one corner out. So 13 versus his will will just hit him. Ah, you will have to miss. So the bug tumbles back into this hole and just you see legs kick and skitter and he disappears into the hole. So badass.
Say hi to Duncan for me. Oh, wait. Oh. Just kidding. There's no bridge there. Well, that saves Gavin on his next turn because he gets to resist five damage. So thank you. Thank you so much. Um, uh, when it does two. So that's awesome. Yep. Oh, I get less. Get a you resist five damage next turn until the start of my next turn. Uh, Gavin, your turn. All right. I'm not under any effects right now, so that's the plus. You're just down to two hit points. Yeah. Um, I'm going to go with. Yeah, exactly. I'm got a heavy ringing in my ears. I don't know why I'm going to go and initiate commander strike on number five.
Um, you know, would you do the honors, please? That's just a mini basic, right? Right. 15. That'll hit. Sweet. Great. Eight. Add another three from my intelligence. Perfect. 11. That will bloody it. Excellent. It seems like you think you got you guys got things well in hand now. It seems like this is going in your favor. Um, go ahead and make a saving throw there. Oh, that's not in this turn. Technically, isn't it for Gavin? That is it for Gavin. Okay. So spiker number five is going to use his pinchers against Gavin. It's going to take nine damage because it's still got the divine sanction.
Yes. Thank you. He'll take, he'll take nine damage, but Gavin was just too tasty and weak looking. Oh, fuck. Gavin has an offensive plus two from that magic weapon previously. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. It won't own actually my apologies because she's that last, but I do have the five resist coming up. So let's hope it's enough. So you're down to two hit points. He just hit you. Let's roll damage. Five. Wow. That's so amazing. Wow. Fucking God. Fi, your turn. Okay. Uh, five damage. Okay. Down to four. Um, as I can't move anywhere and no one is next to me, uh, it'll have to be a ranged basic attack.
What is that ranged weapon? It's a short bow. So again, it's a spike of one, uh, 24. Wow. Awesome. Uh, damage. 10 damage. Wow. Great. Very nice. So through your sticky mess, you whip out your longbow and you, you, you pull off a miraculous shot against this thing. You hit it in the side and it's fucker. Like it, you could, it totally reacts to that. Um, I imagine that's, that's kind of all you can do. Uh, yep. My saving throw. All right. Nope. Uh, you would take five damage, but you have a resistance. So damage for you. Fi, your turn. Okay. Um, I'm going to go with virtuous strike again.
Um, and I'm going to attack number five. Okay. 25. 25 will. Oh, that's a crit. Oh, our first crit. 13 damage. Dead. So awesome. Boom. Dead. Uh, wow. That is fantastic. Uh, anything else you want to do? Um, don't I think there's anything else I can do. So, um, no, I'll just, I'll just end my turn. Awesome. Okay, so we have Fisher spiker one, the last remaining spiker guys. This is the last bug. Oh, roll a, roll a saving throw there. Oh yeah. Thank you. Um, I get the plus two for virtuous strike. And I die. Sad day. Um, well you all lived so far, so that's, that's pretty good.
Um, since Una kind of called out all the bugs anyway, and she's wrapped up in tasty little thing in front of this guy, uh, he's going to use his pinchers and take a bite. 16. That's totally going to miss everything forever. Yes. Uh, he hangs his head in shame as a minor action and it's a jetsy his turn. All right. Hopefully I am going to attack the only one left. I'll just blast. Please, please. Yeah. Curse him. Oh, curse. So I cursed him. And then you're letting your head in warlock school. Um, 19. Oh, hit. All right. Then this one and then this one. 17. Beautiful.
Fantastic. Gorgeous. Gorgeous damage. Uh, super bloodied. Yeah. Uh, anything else there? Jidzia. I think I'm good. All right. Marcus. All right. Uh, since I can't really attack him as he's bloody. All right. I have an idea. If you go up first off, you could use, uh, your, uh, goodness. I'm looking at astral seal right now because it doesn't seal. Yeah. Cause it knocks down his defenses. And if you smack him next, you get hit points back. Yeah. Turn them into a healing pinata. Yeah, exactly. Um, I was thinking though, what else was the, what's the use action where you can make fee make a saving throw or not saving throw a crowd anymore now.
Oh, that was one of the ones I lost. Unfortunately it looks like, Oh, okay. Okay. So yeah, we should be able to put them away before fees turns back around. Uh, I hope saying fee, if we can force fee, actually fee won't make a saving throw, but he can use his healing surge. If you make a healing check on him. So I have to get next to him to do that. Yeah. You have to basically stand next to him and then do that thing. I think it's a 15 or better on your heel. Check. Yeah. Which he should have anyway. Yeah. Uh, under skills, skills. All right. My healing is a plus eight, 25.
Great. So force him to second wind force fee to do his second wind, which gets him a healing search. Correct. Okay. So, okay. There we go. That's my healing search. Um, and that was my second wind used, wasn't it? Yes. Is that what it is? Okay. Okay, cool. And then can I still use astral seal on him or is that my turn? It's a very good question. I forget. That's a standard. Okay. All right. Then I am done. All righty. Uh, Gavin, your turn. My turn. Yes. Okay. I'm going to step up here by footstep and uh, I will do an intuitive strike to attempt to strike its willpower.
Step away. That's a 12. Uh, against will that'll miss. Darn. All right. My turn is done. All right. Uh, fee your turn. Okay. So five damage, which is why the search. Yeah. There we go. Uh, and then range basic 15. Uh, that's against AC. That'll hit 11. That will kill it. Yes. Wonderful. You are out of combat. You killed all the bugs. You've used your dailies, all your healing surges, your potions, everything. I didn't use the daily. I did not use daily. I'm exaggerating. I used my daily, but it kept everyone alive again. So thank you. I am exaggerating. It was so useful. Well, um, I'm going to go ahead and guess.
Healing surges. I'm guessing you're going to want to take a short rest maybe. And yeah, at least giving counter powers back. Well, yeah, that'll be okay. So, um, let's go ahead and, uh, take the effects off of you guys. You're no longer mobilized. Your, your friends help you get the sticky goo off of you. Uh, all right. Thank you. Okay. In response to the, thank you. I'm going to grab, grab him by his collar and say, stay the fuck back next time. When she lets him go, he falls down a hole. No, not canon. He falls unconscious. Hilarious. Um, yeah, Una's no nonsense.
I like that. Yeah. So just kind of give her a curtain nod. Like, yes. Una, don't shake Gavin too hard. He breaks easy. Now, uh, Phee, I'm guessing you're going to want to use some, you only got two surges left. Yep. Apparently. Yeah. Do you want to use them both and just kind of get up to as high as you can? Yeah, might as well. Phee, would you like my potion? Um, I will scream if I'm in agony later. Okay. Beautiful. You're, you're, you guys are healed up or as close to healed up as you guys are going to get. Right. Uh, I believe as it stands right now, uh, Gavin has one more healing surge.
Phee has nothing. Uh, and the rest of you guys, uh, I think Una still is doing pretty good with healing surges. Like you're, you're doing okay. Okay. So I guess the question is, what would you guys like to do after that first fight? Um, you're, you're in this fairly large, uh, this fairly large room in the cavern. Um, uh, totally up to you. What you'd like to do. There does appear to be, um, a way out on the other side, the opposite, the opposite end of where you came in. I don't know if you'd like to press on or head back. Let's press on. We have to, we can't go back empty handing, handed, uh, Gavin's still wrapping up some bandages on his arm.
All right. Um, I take it we don't see any gems in this area. Nothing we can grab to bring back. Well, let's talk about that. All right. Across this room, uh, there is the beginnings of a tattered looking rope bridge. Nope. Nothing about you. I like how Gavin just ran straight at it. Like, let's do it. I got it. Grab him, pull him back. Um, who would like to make a perception check for me? How about who's got the highest perception? Come on guys. Let's not let. I've got plus two. I've got plus five. There you go. We have a winner. Uh, let's roll. 20. 24. Gorgeous. Um, this bridge has seen better days, guys.
Um, it looks as though it won't support more than one of you at a time. Uh, the center of it appears to be especially chewed up. Um, it looks as though someone may have fallen through it once or twice at some point. Um, but on the opposite side of the bridge, uh, you can see the reflections of what appear to be gemstones. Wasn't there a path around it? Um, last time? Last time? I don't know what you're referring to. Yeah, I don't know either. Oh, sorry. Yeah. Such a way would have humbled 17 years ago. And plot hole closed. Um, um, uh, do the ropes themselves look strong enough?
The, the, again, the whole thing looks kind of red, like not just kind of ready, pretty ready. Um, it doesn't appear as though anyone's used it in quite a long time. Uh, all right, guys, we know this is here. Let's go check the other areas first before we sacrifice somebody's time. Let's go check the other areas first before we sacrifice somebody to the pit. Um, it should be noted, uh, next to next to this, this, this rope bridge setup, um, it appears as though someone has been spelunking because, uh, there are, uh, there are, uh, there are catches hammered into the, the rock of the cavern next to the next to this cliff next to the bridge.
Um, now all the rope has been removed, but the, uh, the, the anchors are still there. Um, and there's, there's what appears to be a note, uh, next to one of the anchors. Gavin? Yes. You want to pick up that note? I shall. I'll go ahead and pick it up. Uh, is it in common or? Uh, it's, it's just written in common. Um, uh, it's scrawled and just kind of placed in an envelope. Um, uh, and all it says is the body has been retrieved, uh, and it's signed with just a T. Body's been retrieved. Well, I think that's another reason to say no to that whole area. Do we, if we have rope, we can climb down and then climb up the other side.
Maybe we don't have any anchor on the other side to attach rope to. So yes, like I said, we know what's here. Let's go check the other area out and then come back. Okay. If we need to. Yeah. Sounds good. That sounds reasonable. Do you, do we know how far down it goes? Um, holding your torch over the side of it. This appears to be quite steep, like so steep that if someone were to fall in, it could be almost two minutes of screaming at your friends before you would splash and hit bottom. Um, theoretically, if you were to fall in. Maybe she was dumb enough to do that.
I just picture leaning over the side to see how far it is. And we heard the echo of, and another thing. Um, it's terrible. Terribly awesome. No. So you guys are going to head back the way you came, right? So you know, there are no traps, just holes. So being mindful of the holes and you've cleared out all the living things in the area. So that would lead us back here, which would be that fork in the road again. Now you have two options. You can take the pass to the left or you can go straight down the hall. I liked our previous idea of just go down each path as we encounter it.
Sounds good to me. Oh fair, it was leader. Um, do you want to make any kind of check while you're heading down this other corridor? So would you do a dungeoneering please? I'm not the best choice. I think I got a three. I think I got a dungeoneering I think. I think Unes got a decent one. Plus three is better. Plus three? Anybody? I believe you're the best. Okay, well. Seven. There you go. Nothing. We're all dead. Anybody still there? Yep, nothing. We are. We're here. I've got a, uh, I can roll a perception if you want. Um, okay, well, okay. Una rolled a dungeoneering and she's not spotting any traps in the area at all.
Everything looks clear, guys. If you'd like to roll a perception, please do. Yay, seven is right. Lucky number seven. Um, peering around the corner, this leads into a separate chamber. And that, I mean, it looks fine to you. I'm headed first then. Alright. That makes sense. I'm still slightly injured, so I'd probably, you know, I'd follow close behind. Okay. Chamber. Oh, whoa. Little jump there. What just happened? Oh, it just went straight up for a second. Oh, yeah, I just noticed that. I was just wondering why. Um, this map. So, uh, so wandering in, you're, uh, you, you, you, it just appears to kind of be a dead end.
Like, um, there, there does appear to be a body on the floor. I'm gonna check that out. Okay. Uh, so, I'll go right ahead. Okay. Um, so just, just checking it out across the floor. Um, this, this, this body appears to be, it was mauled by something. Um, there looks to be, uh, puncture marks and, uh, it doesn't look like it was drained of its blood, but, uh, there doesn't appear to be any on it now. Like this was just a human man. Um, how fresh is it? Uh, not fresh at all. This has been here for a while. Okay. Uh, it also appears to be covered in webbing. Can I loot it?
Uh, you sure can. Okay, we'll do that. Uh, this guy had five gold on him. I'll give everyone one. And some, uh, just, uh, just really standard gear, leather armor, uh, a hand ax, just really standard stuff. Um, the blades kind of appear to be rusty and, and yeah, so not of too much use. Um, now he already rolled perception in the room and he got a seven, which means he didn't see. Lovely. He didn't see the body. He didn't see the spider on the ceiling. Um, well, there's more than one, um, ambush spider. True to their name, the ambush spider, uh, lays in wait.
So, uh, you guys have wandered into this dead end, uh, and the spiders have got the jump on you. Uh, so for the second time today, um, these, these lurking spiders here are going to, well, this is the first time spiders have got the jump on you, but not the first time creatures have gotten the jump on you. So, um, uh, the lineup in the room, is that how you guys want to be standing? I'm going to actually move over near Gavin. I'm going to back up as soon as the spiders start popping out. Okay. So, uh, it's Una and Gavin, the first one's in the room and everyone else is kind of following close behind.
I'm taking it. Yeah. Right. Okay. That sounds, that sounds fine. Um, so let's roll for it. Sorry, I dragged you along with the rest of us when I realized you were having problems. Christ. So these spiders aren't flying around either. Um, all right. Uh, well, I don't want to murder you in our first session. That's not, that was not my intention. I swear. Venomous spider number three or ambush spider number three is going to move up to Una and use something called venomous bite. So they do have venomous bite. Cool. They do. Um, that is a, Ooh, I could just remember what am I doing?
Uh, 16 versus your AC. Nope. Okay. So that will miss ambush spider number two. You know what? He's going to do the same thing. Cool. 21. Yep. Okay. So that Ooh, max damage. That's 13 damage. And you're going to, uh, you're slowed and you're going to take five ongoing poison damage saving through. Uh, yeah. Safe ends both. Okay. Did I have something? I might not have that anymore. I had something to armor my end ongoing damage. I don't have that anymore. Just kidding. I think. Yeah, that was your special. Yeah, that was level five stuff. This is level one stuff. Um, and number four is going to saunter on over to Una and just make a bite attack.
Nope. Uh, well he gets plus two flanking still misses. Oh, cool. Yeah. And ambush player number one is going to make a venomous bite. Yeah. Venomous bite against, um, Gavin. Wow. Critness. Okay. Natural one. Make him eat the shield. Um, you guys go ahead and roll initiative. Gavin's arrives one attack and gets cocky all of a sudden. Oh yes. A good initiative for my life. Excellent. Great initiative rolls. Okay. Uh, I'm gonna, I'm gonna delay for now. Um, a couple of turns. A couple of turns. Okay. I don't understand. I'm sure he has a plan guys. Come on. Okay. Uh, so you have delayed, uh, ambush fighter number three will not be delaying.
However, going to take a bite out of 17 is going to miss. Nevermind. Uh, number two, uh, same thing. 23 that will hit and nine damage. Okay. Um, that's not too much fun. Um, four is also going to bite at una. Uh, 25. And I'm dead. Uh, six damage. Wow. That is just enough to take you down. I'm going to say sorry, Gavin, and then just, oh no, no. Fearless leader. I see. It was bad. She got surrounded and jumped. Oh, geez. Uh, Marcus, your turn. Okay. I will step forward one and we'll use healing word on una. Miraculous. You may want to step back instead, do the healing word and then throw one of those, uh, healing, uh, pinata powers at the bad guys.
Okay. I will do that then. So this is two D six plus 12 or two D six plus six. Sorry. Yeah. I thought I had to be next to her to use it. So why don't I have a back there? Oh, I was thinking maybe you could, that way you can see all the way into the room and, Oh, and when you do your range attack ambush spider too, we'll take a smack at you. If you don't, that is true. You're standing with astral seal at a distance would be the best option. Oh, okay. So if I step there, there, okay. There instead. Sorry. Either one. Okay. That's fine. Cause that gives somebody else a clear view.
All right. Two D six plus six have 15 hit points back plus a healing surge. Hey, and saving throw and a saving throw. Can I jump back in when he finishes his turn? You sure can. Right on. Oh yeah. Feeling good and saving. All right. Um, fee, which one were you going to attack? Because I'll hit that one with a healing surge or attempt to at least, um, I was just going to go for a number two. Um, I should be able to hit it with my, my range. Okay. That does more damage. All right. Then let me hit, I'll hit number two with an astral seal. That's how we do it. Or 22.
Cool. Um, okay. Okay. Firstly, uh, when his saving throw was a success, she's no longer slowed or poisoned. Uh, and number two, astral seal. That's 22. That'll hit minus two to his defenses. Next person to hit him gets hit points, uh, equal to two plus my crowd charisma modifier. You correct my charisma. So total five hit points, five hit points for the next person who hits him. Is there a reason you slipped into that character from family? My career. Uh, you're, you're done. Okay. Hey, you're back in. Hey, um, with, with my tricks, they say, uh, at will Marshall, does that mean I have to hit them with a melee basic attack or can I get it if I do a range basic attack as well?
I'm pretty sure you can do it at range too. I think that's the way these guys were working. Like ambush trick move Marshall personal as long as it's a, um, basic attack. Well, let's see the ambush trick actually. Yeah. When you attack and have none of their allies adjacent that front, for example, versus unbalancing. I, yeah, ambush is probably what you'll want. I imagine. Right. Yeah. Cause he's got no, he's got no friends. Um, and Oh yeah. So ambush trick is, um, can be triggered off of any attack. Um, unbalancing trick was, um, mainly basic attacks. So that's the only one where you have to actually get your hands dirty ambush tricks stack with backstab.
Um, well, cause if, if I do ambush trick, I can get the sneak attack as well. Right. And then if you did the backstab, that would give you, um, the additional plus three bonus to strike on top of his two for blah, blah, blah. Um, so you'd have an plus five bonus to hit and extra dice of damage. You'd still get your melee basic attack and you'd stack backstab on top of that ranged. You can do backstab with ranged. It's a silly thing that it mentions there, but you it's an attack role. Awesome. Thank you. So, uh, that's an additional plus five to my effect.
Yes. Do I need to, uh, move up one square to be able to hit number two? No, no, you're fine. Awesome. I get it. So range, race attack. And that's the plus five to that as well. So that's a 27. Um, that will totally hit. Yes. Um, I could, I guess so. And then I need, oh, snake snake is two or six and then an additional one day six for the backstab for a total of three die six. And your standard bow damage. Oh yeah, that's a good point. Uh, I guess. Well, beautiful. So you're looking at one day plus, yeah, 14 for my standard and then three day six, which is 11, 25.
Absolutely gorgeous. Yes. Beautiful. And, um, I'm going to picture him pulling out the comic bow from, uh, Robin hood men in tights. Uh, very nice. Wow. Yes. Gorgeous. Great. That's, that's everything. All right. Okay. Um, let's go. Valorous. Okay. You are prone. Okay. Um, dang it. Yeah, I got, I got to get out. Yes. If you could end your turn somewhere, like I'm going to move here and if you could end up somewhere towards me, I'm going to do something later that would help. Preferably here. But I realized that that would open you up to two enemies. That's still better than three you have now.
Where is here? I don't see your pointer. Oh, Oh, I have to hold it down right here. Would be perfect for me. Right there. Yeah, I can, I can shift there, I guess. Um, you can do it at the end of your turn if you want. That would just work well for something I'm going to do. Cool. Okay. Um, yeah, I guess I have to get up. Um, Oh yeah. I'll do that. That's your move. That's your move. Nevermind. Um, action point? Might be a little early for that. Okay. Um, yeah, if I get up then I've just got a minor left, right? Um, you still have a standard, but your move is burnt.
Okay. Well, okay. Um, yeah, I guess I'll just get up and then Valorous might, um, the one ambush spider too. Let's try that. 12. Ah, that's going to miss. Ouch. Well, that was fun. Um, I'm not sure if the effect works. Oh, if it says effect then yes. Um, cause there's an effect like even if I, I don't know if it works if I hit it or not, but um, it works regardless of the hit, then all enemies in three squares of me have to attack me. So the way effects work, if it says effect, then it works. If it says on hit, then you have to hit it. So if it just says effect, then yep.
It doesn't say either. Oh, it's actually under hit equals. Sorry. Oh, okay. All right. Oh, well, well, um, oh, nevermind. Blah. I was thinking of something else. Go ahead. Uh, ambush spider number one. Um, he is going to use venomous bite on, uh, uh, Kevin. 25. I'd like to go and activate my, uh, vengeance is mine. Okay. Before we resolve everything, maybe I can bring him down or something. Let's see. So vengeance is mine. I make a melee basic attack against him, roll for a 23. And I damage our, uh, six points of damage. And then I call over Una. So I move her up and she does a melee basic strike.
Okay. Well, we got you where you needed. And, um, and then I take the damage. Okay. Um, I'll throw his groove. All right. So seven and you are slowed and poisoned. You'll take five damage every turn until say then. Okay. Um, Kevin, your turn. Take five damage, please. I will. I'll go ahead and use my S an inspiring word upon myself. So that dropped you down to five hit points and inspiring word makes you, we spend a healing surge, I believe. So that gives you five hit points. And then, and then another plus three from, um, my role for the healing, sir, or the, uh, inspiring word.
So I just did. All right. I'm no longer bloody. That's good. And I'm going to use, bah, I think I'm going to use intuitive strike. Okay. Striking at his wisdom for, it looks like a 25 to hit. Uh, that'll hit. Well, damage. I do two points of damage and the next ally who attacks that particular guy will have combat advantage against it and a plus two power bonus to the attack roll. We can minor Mark him a little bit there. That'd be cool. Uh, roll a saving throw. Oh yes. Thank you. I'll do that right now. Roll and I save. Hey, you're no longer poison or slow. Um, Jensie, your turn.
All right. I am going to move up here and I'm going to warlock curse spider number two. Hey, nice. I remember this time. Oh, that's not me. That's Gavin. And then I'm going to use a dire radiance against spider number two. I can't see what it is because it doesn't come up. So 23. Oh, there it is. 23 forward to totally hit. Yay. Damage and the eight, eight, nine whole damage. Woo. That is better than nothing. That is good. Um, you bloodied it. Sweet. Excellent. And if it moves any closer to me, it'll take another one D six plus my constitution modifier on its turn.
Um, you're done. Yes. Okay. Um, let's see here. Ambush spider three is going to move up here to Una, uh, and use bite. Uh, 20. Yep. I don't get any pluses. I don't think so. Yeah. Uh, damage. Ooh, wow. Damage is 12. That's okay. Um, number two is going to move up one, which I believe technically counts as moving closer. Yeah. So go ahead and you said it's a one D six plus your con con mod, I believe that's effective at a 10 there. Yeah. Uh, I think you're muted. I think she said, I am. I was muted. Great. So that will kill ambush spider number two. And that's how we do it.
Yeah. He had no choice but to move closer to trying to tag somebody. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, number four is going to try and take a bite out of Una to 24. Am I gathering this road? What's going on? I got seven damage. Okay. You're, you're the one up front. That's the, yeah. Um, yeah, that'll bring up Marcus. That looks like I'll be, it looks like I'll be throwing another healing word out here. Yeah. Save it. You're down to three. You need it. So yeah, you're dinged up pretty good there. Uh, it's either that or I stepped forward and I can give you the plus two defenses, but I say we strip the defense off of number three there or whatever, using your holy thing and to just basically do another, just like we did before and just tear the crap out of it.
Focus fire on three. All right. I will move up. I will use weapon of divine waffles. Oh no, no. I meant astral seal man. Oh, you want me to astral seal? Yeah, I think we should be buffet. The plus two bonus to strike is good. But waffles. What waffles? But waffles. All right. Then in that case I will hit astral seal on ambush spider number three then 12 or I'll act like I'm going to. Yeah. Um, that's against reflex. No, that won't hit the, no. All right. Should've hit him with the waffles. I think that healing word for her might be still a good idea right now. Still think so?
Yeah. At three hit points? Nah. Well, Una was the one saying don't bother. I know. I've taken so much healing. I feel bad. I'm a paladin. You're also our tank. Yeah. All right. Here you go. You're the backup to the backup healer. You get my last healing word. You're kind of our meat shield. Yum. The healing word for today is 17 plus a healing surge. Beautiful. My healing surge is seven I think. Yeah. That's very nice. So you're almost up to full. Wow. That's very nice. Uh, that's it for Marcus. That's it. And Fi, your turn. Okay. Um, Okay. Do I want to move in and hit it and knock it prone or just a ranged attack?
If you, um, flank with them or whatever, like using my myself on number two or number three there, then you get your sneak attack damage. I mean, it puts you at risk of being hit, but. Yes. Um, I'll do that. Um, Yeah. So there you go. And then that'd be a melee base and then plus two. So 22 that'll hit and then damage 12 and then sneak attack eight, 20 damage. Wow. He does get a melee basic at you though. Cause you did have to walk past him. That's the only trade off. That was the only thing I was going to say. Uh, and a bite to you 24 damage six. So that's not too bad.
It was a good trade though. Yeah. 20 for six. Yeah. That's pretty good. Uh, meat shield. You're up. Okay. I didn't strike on the bloodied spiders by the number three seven. No. Yeah. That's not going to hit. Okay. Um, I have another thing, but I don't think anybody needs it. So, um, shitty. I guess I'll just end my turn. Um, yeah, sorry. Uh, ambush fighter number one. Uh, you know what? He is going to use venomous bite. Uh, on Una, 27. That's a crit. Oh, so guys healing the okay. So 13 damage and you are slowed and poisoned. Okay. Gavin, your turn. Whoa. I just added this.
Just kidding. All right. Then first thing I'm going to do is a healing word towards a Una. Well, actually, yeah, yeah. She's, she's pretty banged up and she has healing searches to spend. Unlike our friend fee inspiring word, I roll a one, die six roll and six. So healing search plus six, please. It's your inspiration. See now Gavin's finding his group. Indeed. It was the threat that Una gave him after the last flight. Yeah. It's like, okay, I'm not in the front anymore. I'm going to do my job. I'm going to go ahead and use commander strike this time. I'm actually going to have fee take a whack at, at ambush spider number three.
So mainly basic, please. Attack row and then that's a crit. No, sorry. So I'm afraid not be thankful in the original crit. Misses meant you dropped your weapon. Sure. It feels like something should happen. You slip and cut your own leg. Yeah. Well, you feel like a jerk. I mean, my dad would do. Oh, it sucks. My dad would make you hurt yourself. Yeah. That's that. Shouldn't it feel like you'd like, whoa, I missed cut my own ankle. So I'm slowed or something. I don't know. Something. There were also optional rules for breaking your weapon. If you roll the correct. Oh, that's just too much.
And now we're playing in four E. So thankfully no. In 3.5 guys. I'm sorry. That's it for you, Gavin. Right? Yes, that is my turn. Thank you. Oh, well, wait. Every time I ask you and then I move on. Sorry. Action point. Yeah. Oh, wait, wait. I use my action point last fight. I never mind. Three. All right. I'm going to move down one warlock curse number three, I believe. Yes. And then. Eldridge blast. 21 to hit. I can't see. Awesome. And I'm going to use my face avoid to add to my damage. The end. So I'll just add it to the warlock curse. So eight plus 16. That will kill the spider.
Yeah. That does it for you, right? Yeah. And now you get the pack boon again. I do. I get the back again. Let's do bite on Una for venomous spider for ambush spider for. 21. That should hit. Yeah. And six damage to Una. You may be muted. Oh, sorry. Muted. Okay. Marcus, your turn. All right. Do I continue with the astral seal or do I move up and actually try and hit somebody, guys? Both are really good. I mean, you get the definite effect if you do the melee. And if you put yourself right next to Una, like right here, you can take a swing and get benefits for everyone.
That's what I was looking at. So I will take two steps forward. And brave soul. I still have all my healing surges, too. So, yeah, that's a good point. I will take a swat at ambush spider number four with the weapon of divine waffles. I'm not going to do anything, but everybody gets a plus two to their defenses. So, yeah. Fi, your turn. Unbalanced and trick, so shift to squares and then melee basic. So 24. That will hit. And then damage and sneak attack. Gorgeous. There we go. Yeah, so this is how it's supposed to happen. Yes. So you're just systematically taking these damn spiders apart.
Right. Una, your turn. Okay, virtuous strike on the blood spider spider number four. 20. 20 will hit. Damage four. And he has that one mark, right? No, virtuous strike will give me a plus two to my saving throw, which I will make right now. I also lose five hit points to poison. What? Something. No, poison. Okay. And then saving throw. You could still use your miner, though, to throw your doodad on him, though. That's true. You threatened him, yeah. 20 for my saving throw. No longer poisoned. Oh, shit. Yeah, you're totally good. So wonderful. I will throw divine challenge on Mr.
Bloody and make it so he takes damage if he doesn't hit me. Yes. Very nice. So perfect. Okay, ambush spider number one. He is going to try and bite Gavin. Okay. 23. That will hit me. 10 damage. Ouch. Noted. Gavin, your turn. All right. Just adjusting my HP. I'm down kind of a little bit. Oops. Just a little bit. Three. Okay, so first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead, while I'm standing here, take a swing at him. Do, well, actually, I'm going to go ahead and use commander strike and request Una to hit number one, please. Okay. That's baby sink. 15. Against AC, that'll miss.
Damn it. Drat. All right, then. Do I get plus one for thinking speedy? That isn't your turn. Though that does stand. If you guys have your turn all ready to go, you do get the plus one. Gavin had his turn all ready to go. I did. Can I please elect to give her the plus one? You know what? I'll, yes, that's fine. I'll allow that. Because technically it's your turn. You give her the plus one. That'll hit. Thank you. Awesome. 10 damage. Excellent. 10 damage. That spider is bloodied. I'm going to take a five foot step back now that I've done my attack and that will end my turn.
Awesome. Good for me. All right. Jadzia. All right. I think I can hit, oh, God, am I again? No, I'm not. You're good now. You're good. Oh, okay, good. I thought my computer was freaking out again. Sometimes it's just I can't even hear you guys at all, just so you know. So I'm not responding. Oh, no, we're getting that now. You're getting that. Type to me and I can read it. I can't hear anything sometimes. I would like to warlock curse ambush fighter number one. And then I'm going to use diabolic grasp and that would push him. So if it hits, can I push him into the wall?
The, okay, yeah, like you're pushing him like to this side. So yeah, you could push him into the wall. That's fine. We could do that. Yeah. Let's say it's a force. That'll just hit him 12 to 40. Awesome. Yeah. Then I'm going to do damage. So it's 16 and then how much would the force damage be? It doesn't matter because he is dead. His, yeah, his leggy corpse crumbles against the wall. Yeah. And your boon procs again. See, I was worth waiting for guys. Yeah. Are you all done or you want to move? Yeah, I should probably move just well. I should probably move just so that I can hit him.
If you guys don't take care of him before my turn. There you go. All right. And you're all in substantial too. Yeah, that's true. I'm going to steal some stuff. Ambush spider number four is going to try and bite Una. Yay. Bite 10. Oh, he's also prone. Oh, well, nevermind then. Yeah, it's 10 anyway. Yes, that's. Is he prone? From what? Yeah, dude man, the feed. Oh, you're right. Yeah, you're totally right. So yeah, that would have missed. Anyway, he's going to use his move action to stand up and he's no longer prone, but he's still shitty. So Marcus, your turn. Looks like we'll throw another astral seal on the spider that is left.
Ambush spider four. That's a range strike. Oh, okay. Back up. Yeah. 15. Um, reflex. Yeah, you're good. Excellent. All right. So he's at a minus two for all defenses and next person gets a pinata healing fee. This would be perfect, actually. Yeah. Uh, Okay, so, uh, ambush. Yeah. Okay. I was going to use ambush. I don't actually need to. Um, me like basic attack. So 24. That'll hit. Uh, damage. And today six was sneak. 19 dead. Gorgeous. Yes. Five hit points, sir. Yay. That was so great. That was fabulous. Everyone. Gorgeous job. I'm no longer bloodied. Yay. Well, I'm just picking up my teeth still, but we need to go back for them crystals at this point.
Turn next door, I guess. Well, we can still go straight. Well, um, I'll tell you what, here's what we'll do. If you go back to the fork, someone make a perception roll and see what you can see. That'll probably be a fee. Yeah. Would you go on ahead please real quick? So the edge of the darkness there, uh, just go ahead and roll a perception check. 12. There are a bunch of Colonel clinks. Another old reference. Good for you. Um, here's what you see. We're in a cave. Yep. This is true. You are in a cave. Now ahead of you is a long stretch of hallway. And you see something kind of glimmering.
Uh, it could be gemstones. It could be valuables. It's shiny. Yeah. It's shiny. You don't know. It's, it's a, your eyesight can't quite make it out. Um, uh, it also appears in the center of this hallway, um, that's the, that's the, it kind of narrows in to like where one person can make it through comfortably. Um, and it looks like there's a, there's a pillar kind of holding a portion of the ceiling up. Um, and it, it looks like you can sneak past it, uh, with a, with a, like an acrobatics check, something like that. Just kind of like shimmy past it real quick and, and nothing would come of it.
Could we use athletics for that? That works too? Um, I will allow it just because it's, just because this is, you're basically trying not to knock this pillar down. Cause it looks like it's holding up a chunk of the ceiling. So I'm going to allow it. Okay. Um, maybe we should send someone with good perception whose health is taller than the ceiling. Everyone with good perception whose health is tolerable, um, through there and just, just, just appear down and see what they can, see if they can see anything closer. You can see fairly well in the dark. That's true.
I do have low light. Okay, fuck it. I'll go. And I'll, may I make athletic checks or like hold the pillar? I've got an athletic checks of seven. That would be a concerted effort. Uh, yeah, this would take, I'm just letting you know that this would take quite a bit of strength to hold this up. This would be a fairly high check if you're trying to hold this in place while someone shimmies past it and let's say they're clumsy and their foot kicks it or something. Um, I'm also going to let you know, let's say this pillar were to slip. It looks like a fairly large portion of that ceiling is going to cave in.
I don't think it's worth the risk. So we're literally stuck between a rock and a hard place right now. Wow. Put on a kind face. Um, okay. You know what? Like, let's just, let's just try it out and Gavin stay back. If the athletics check doesn't work, I'll take a fuck ton of damage. Can I pop healing surges before I do this? Sure. Let's say you take a short rest after that last little battle there. Okay, let's do that. Is Luna still slowed? No, no, no. All that's gone. Shake it off. I'll take myself 14 hit points back. Okay. Okay. Back to full health. I like how he and I are staying in the back like, yeah, yeah, you guys go take care of that.
We'll stay right here. I figured I'd come up in case somebody needed to be healed. Now let me ask a question. Is that where everyone wants to stand? Maybe you should back up in case someone needs to be healed. Alright, I'll back up a bit. You should like come back to your, like at least, like that looks like a shaky ceiling. How far back does the ceiling go that looks like it's going to come down? I can tell you that. It looks, it looks like a fairly good stretch of it. That's what I'll say. Because a 12 perception ain't going to tell you that, I'm afraid.
Can I roll a dungeoneering before I do this? I'll let you do that. Go ahead. Okay. 18. 18. This, this pillar, while not a trap per se, it wasn't set up as a trap. It appears to be about five squares in either direction. That if this were to go, a good stretch of this ceiling is going to cave in like chunks of it. Maybe not the whole thing, but it doesn't appear to be very stable. This is a load-bearing column. Okay, I'm going to shake Marcus's hand. Thank him for the healing that he gave me during that fight. Nod to Gavin and then walk over to this fucking pillar.
Guys, this is how I die. Like, I'm not even going to be part of group three anymore. Like, this is how I straight up. Those who are about to die, we salute you. Court go with you. Okay, um, athletics minus one. Oh, jeez. Oh, wow. Wait, minus one. I thought you had a plus one. Yeah, maybe we should send someone else. I thought that you were incompetent. You asked specifically about athletics. I thought that was a higher stat. Yeah, I have a plus one and I have all my healing surges. Okay, I figure I have the most health, so that's what I was thinking. Well, let me do it.
Get the fuck back here. Come here. Let me paint that picture, because essentially what you're doing is you are trying to shimmy past this already thin space where there's a column. So you're the bulkiest fucking chick in the party. If I take my armor off. Oh, yeah. And let's say you do, that'll help with the fuckton of damage that you might take. That's true. But if you do take your armor off, I'll give you a plus two to the world. Fuck it, I'll strip. Okay. I'll go back and I'll help hold her gear. Okay. Hopefully I'm wearing something cute. How stripped are you?
I have my shield tied onto my back, I guess. If I press it up against the wall, that's not going to make a huge difference. But I guess otherwise, my cloth or whatever I'm wearing, if I'm wearing anything underneath the armor. For chafing purposes, you definitely would have something underneath there. There we go. Chafing purposes. So yeah, I guess cloth and I've got my shield tied to my back. Alright, so plus two to the role. Good luck. Like Sofatea. Here we go, guys. Wish me luck. [Laughter] Did anyone stop to see that Fi has a plus nine to acrobatics? [Laughter] What?
Oh shit. [Laughter] Okay. I just decided to take a peek since we found out about Kuna. Okay, question. Question, Jason. Can I make another athletics to sprint the fuck back as soon as I hit the pillar? I am afraid not. Okay. Alright, here's what's gonna happen. So you take one step and kick this pillar out from under. [Laughter] Oh god. Now that doesn't necessarily mean it's the end for you. Okay. Because chunks of the ceiling are now falling around you. This is going to be an attack. A plus eight. This is versus your reflex. I've got 13. Shit. Nine. Oh my god. Oh my god.
This is the most amazing moment of my life. [Laughter] Yeah, I'm tweeting that. The first bits of rock and boulder begin to fall around you and right next to you after you kick this pillar out is just this jagged piece of rock that embeds itself in the ground next to you. And if you were to be standing there that would most assuredly have killed you. That is a blessing from Kord. Keep going. For my bravery. For my bravery. There we go. Now, it's holding the other long enough that you can either advance forward or run back, but not both. I remember this game.
Yeah, let's, um, I'm gonna go back and just like guys, nope. Okay. Sure. Okay, I'm gonna run back. I hope we're back into our armor, yeah. So behind you, as you, as you, like the further you move back down the hallway, more chunks are just falling. And after a while it appears as though that it stopped, but that path is obscured. Now you can take the time to unbury it, like you can dig your way through, but it's gonna take a bit of time. I can dig. That bridge looks promising. Um, we don't have any rope though, right? Oh, we do. We all have adventurous kits.
Okay. Yeah, you got adventurous kits. Oh, wait, wait, okay, question. Um, I have that like cool theme background power thing that I can fly for like five spaces. Wait, what? Something about that, like the storm bullshit or something? Oh, the storm bullshit. Um, storm of bullshit, yeah. But every essay ever. I don't think I've got it added to your character before we got this on here. Oh, bummer. We'll have to get that next time. I know what you're talking about though, but yeah, that, I don't see it. If you're going the bridge route, your best bet would be to send fee.
Yeah. With a rope tied around him. Right, you're gonna want to get creative. No, we don't have a whole lot of something other than ourselves. So first we guys, we first we've got to pee on the rope because that'll make it stronger. Let's do it. Well, that's a myth. It's also, I didn't even know that was a myth. Shanghai nights, noon noon, Shanghai noon. That was the first one and it was silk and a group one already did that. Yeah, thank you. We attribute to group one. Yeah, exactly. Well, falling down the bridge, we attribute to group one. And another thing. A majestic eagle, swap steps.
Hey, that's the ending of Lord of the Rings. What do you guys want to do? Do you want to dig through to the other side here or do you want to go back the way you came yet again and try to cross the bridge? Maybe we can investigate a bridge and try to brainstorm our way out of this. OK. We always have the option of going back into town and fetching something if we can figure out something that can help us. You do. I feel like that would be bad for our reputation. It would, but it would be good for our, like, living. So that would be true. It'd be plus two to living.
So let's put our heads together. What can we do to figure out a way to resolve this? I would like to run a history check on this bridge. Oh my. I have a seven. 24. OK. Tell me about this bridge. It would appear as though you are not the first group to try and cross this. It looks like a, even though it's kind of coated in dust and grime and like a thick layer of mold and just ick, you can kind of make out a vague set of footprints that look like small. Something small and maybe gnomish, dwarvish, something like that. Marching out until the first two tattered blocks of bridge there.
And then it looks like whoever it might have been fell through. Then there's drag marks from a rope where it looks like someone was lucky enough to survive the first fall. And then this is what the signs are telling you, but it goes against all logic and reason that they would continue on. And it looks like perhaps the second fall was not as lucky. All right. I think I have an idea. If we use our ropes and we use those anchor points, we can do the final tie off there. But then Una and myself can effectively take a bit of the slack up and us being the stronger ones here.
We send Fi across with the links of rope and basically get him to harvest it out there, provided he, you know, has no problem with the bridge. I have no problem with the bridge. I do, however, have a problem with dying. I hear you. I'm going to I'm going to glare at Fi and be like, is that you being a coward Fi? No, no, no, no. You can tell because his voice went up real high. And now Jadsey, he's far too pretty to die. Guys, we do have the anchor point and the note that says they went down and retrieved a body, which means the ending is down there. We could go down to the bottom and see what's there.
But there's no way back up. I think we already breached this. We know anchor points to get back up. We don't know that. We don't know what's down there. There could be gems galore down at the bottom. I feel like if there were gems galore down at the bottom, then the people who had been down to get the body would also take the gems. Not if they were just there for the body. If you're seeing the body and there's gems galore. If they had all this equipment, why didn't they finish getting the gems? They clearly just wanted the body. My take on this is if I am going to go towards the ground, I'd rather decide to do that instead of it being an accident.
Given the choice, I think I'd rather climb. At least climb down, see what's there, investigate the other side, if there's anything else. Good point, Marcus. And Jetzi, of course. We can see what a ledge is there, but we don't know what's around the other side. There could be a set of stairs on the other side for all we know right now. Okay, let's climb. That's a valid point. So we send somebody down there to look. How's that? Alright. Okay, here's the thing. I believe in your adventures kit you get 25 or 50 feet of rope. 50. 50, okay. Now it would appear that that is far more than a 50 foot drop.
So you are going to have to, A, lash rope together and then tie off at an anchor point or have a teammate hold it. Yeah, I mean you could do that too. But it looks like it's probably going to take all of your rope to get one person down. 250 feet? Wow. That's a yes. It's two minutes of falling and cursing. That's true, that is a long way down. This is a deep chasm. This is deep. And a bottom, let's see. Oh wow. That's a very good point. If it's 16 squares crossed and that's five foot per square. Each cube on the map is five feet, correct? Correct. Okay, so that's 80 feet across.
So we still need two ropes tied together to get somebody across and hold them. Right. At least that's not quite as far of a fall. Right. Like let's say someone got all the way to the end and for some reason they fell through. They would fall and then slam against the cavern wall on the other side. They'd fall back. But at least they wouldn't drop to their death. I think slamming is better than falling. Alright. I did respond to your question by the way. Yeah, I saw it. I just didn't know what it was. Oh, it's a ritual that you can repair stuff so it actually seemed like a pretty decent idea.
Alright, well let's tie two ropes together and throw fee as far across the bridge as we can. Not sure if it works like that. Oh, okay. It could. I mean, you could. Do like a hammer throw with him? Tie him around and fling him? Like a fastball special? Yeah, totally. Well, let me be clear because the last person to attempt this bridge was unclear about what I was asking. The untattered portions of this bridge are going to have a lower difficulty check than the tattered portions of this bridge. When you hit the tattered portions of the bridge, the difficulty check will go up.
Now, because you're level ones, this isn't going to be insane. It's not supposed to be undoable. This will be difficult and life threatening, but it won't be undoable. Sound fair? Let's make sure we tie it off on something and then both Gavin and I hold it. Right. That was definitely an idea for us there. And I figure if we start noticing them fall, we can both just run back like crazy, like a life or death tug of war. Okay, so, fee is going to be okay. So here's what I here's what I imagine is going to be happening. So firstly, how is this rope tied around fee?
Right around his neck. Sounds good. Like a harness sort of like around his waist slash legs. Yeah, kind of like a V shape around his, you know, like a belt and leggings kind of thing. Okay. Still around his crotch in general. Yeah, pretty much exactly. It's like a noose for his crotch. Well, it will launch in his head. Crotch noose. Yeah. Okay, so the rest of the rope you're all holding, I'm guessing. So you do you guys understand the rules for making a strength check if he falls? Let's go over that once more, please. Okay, so there's going to be a primary person making the check.
I'm going to guess that's Una. Sure. Okay, because you're you're the powerhouse strength wise, right? I think so. What is your athletics? My athletics is pretty crap. Yeah, it is. This is a this is are we looking at athletic athletics check or strength check? This will be a raw strength check. So this will be your strength modifier plus well half your level. That's nothing. Yeah, but so yeah, that's actually I've got that then my strengths in 18. Oh, okay. Well, then I have the beach. So it'll be now anybody who would like to assist can make a check too. But if you fail, that'll be a negative one to the role.
If you succeed, then it'll be plus two to Gavin's role. All right. And we treat it like a saving throw if we to bring him back. I feel like I should probably get this out. Okay. Yeah, strength. I've got a 14 strength. I don't know if it's that great for me to be helping either. I've got a 16 strength. That's not bad. So I'd say you three. Yeah. All right. Us three is what I mean to say. I'll lead and they can assist. Okay. Sounds good to me. You'll be fine. Yeah. So, yeah, I want to help but a negative one really helped. No, you'll just kick him a little farther down as I you're cheering him on helping by not help.
Yeah. Um, fee. Yep. You got your you got your makeshift harness tied on. Yep. And you're going to be rolling acrobatics checks to get across this thing. You're going to be like gingerly moving a space at a time. So you are on the first section of the bridge. Yes. We get a bonus for using that anchor because that's obviously designed to help hold. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. If you're tying it off like okay, if you're tying it off at the anchor and you're you're holding it, you're going to get a plus two. Okay. Thank you. Just raw plus two to every like let's say he falls through the bridge and you guys are pulling up.
Yeah, that'll get a plus two to that. So yeah. All right. Good thinking. Um, question because we're all human here. Would heroic effort apply to any of this? Not to the checks, I'm afraid now. Oh, that's a good question. That's that's a damn good stab. It's a saving. It's considered a safe. Well, it's not really a saving throw. It's more like a skill. Yeah. Thinking. Okay. Maybe if he falls, he would get a saving throw. So keep that in mind. I'm not sure if he gets a saving throw if he falls. Yeah, but we're not making the saving throw. He is. Yeah, we are. Okay. All right.
Okay. Go ahead. Make your first acrobatics check. I could take it. Fingers crossed. Oh my God. You you step onto the bridge. The first few feet of it. You can feel it. You can feel the boards flex underneath of you. The entire bridge kind of sways under your considerably lightweight. Take your arm off. But it's. I'm wearing any. He's a rogue. He's wearing like leather. Leather. Yeah. But they appear to be holding your weight. So go ahead and move to the next space and make another acrobatics check. You can do it. One of the changeling thing could help out a little bit.
Yeah. Change them thing. Yeah, he's changeling. Who's a changeling thing? This time you step on the next bit of boards and it appears to be a little sturdier. You just advance right on along. No, no problems at all. Move on to the next space. Oh, no. The boards flex again underneath your feet and it doesn't appear to be a rhyme or reason. What is sturdy to stand on? What isn't? But it even though the boards flex, it holds your weight. Take your time. Move on to the next section, please. Natural 20. That one's solid brick. It's pretty firm. That appears to be paved with concrete for some reason.
That's really weird. That totally holds your weight. You feel a little burst of confidence this time, but you are at the end of the sturdiest portion of the bridge, it would appear, and the next several sections appear to be quite rickety. In fact, the next two sections appear to have almost a dwarf-sized hole in them. Strange. Very strange. Dwarf-sized hole, there's a little ukulele on the side. So go ahead and move to the next section. I'm going to look back and say, "Be ready." I wind the rope a little tighter and give him some slack. Next step. Amazing.
That's two natural 20s in a row, by the way. Even though there's a cavernous hole for this being a rope bridge, you gingerly sidestep it and continue on your journey. You have this. Advance to the next section, please. Yeah, this did. Once again, you sidestep another cavernous hole. And even though the boards seem to threaten to dump you into an endless cavernous abyss, they hold your weight and you continue on to the next section. I'm going to buy you all of the drinks after this. Glowing for 25. Once again, continuing on, it appears as though you can do no wrong.
You were made to cross this bridge, it would seem. Gingerly stepping. Just walking along going, "How did this guy fall through? What's going on here?" Oh my god. This is gorgeous. You are the best. This is how it's done. He's going to trip and fall off the rock at the end, isn't he? Look guys, I made it slip. Beads of sweat are forming on your head as, like a surgeon, you are crossing this bridge. You appear to be light as a feather to your teammates. Any one of them would surely have fallen through these rickety boards had they attempted what you're doing.
Move on to the next section, please. Closer. The board that you step on next splits beneath you, but you catch yourself at the last moment before falling through. And you continue on to the next section. Oh god. Oh. This time you are not as lucky. The boards take on your entire weight and seem to dump open like a trap door beneath you. And you are going to sail through them. Immediately though, your colleagues... Action point? Wait, wait, wait. What? Can he action point? To what? Make a save? Oh no, I was hoping to reroll the check. A save might not be that bad though.
I mean, if it fails, then you know. You're asking if you can do an action point just to reroll that check. Yes. Just before he would have sailed through. Does he have an action point? I believe so. I don't think he took it during that whole fight. He kept holding on to it. Yep. Oh, he used a second wind, but not his action point. Yeah. I'm going to allow that. Go ahead. Oh my god. Oh. Still low, but maybe? Trying to catch yourself from falling through, you switch... You shift your position to another board, which appears to be equally as rickety. And you fall through the bridge.
The rope goes taut behind you. And it is time for your teammates to see whether or not they're going to save your life. Go team, go. Who is assisting Gavin? It's going to be Ooma and Marcus. Okay. So go ahead and roll a d20 plus, your strength modifier. And you're looking to get more than a 10. That's good. That's a 19. That's fantastic. Yeah. And Marcus, same thing. 19 also. Wow. You are both assisting. So right now you have a plus six to your roll, Gavin. All you got to do is not shit the bed. All right. It's all on me. And my strength modifier, in addition to that, makes a total of 10.
Let's hope for the best. Better get better than 10, dude. 14. The rope goes... Should have let Ooma hold the rope after all. The rope goes taut behind you. And inches... you're inches below this bridge, Fee. And it jerks. Now you have an option. Now you can either try to climb up again and keep going forward. You're more than halfway through. Or you can let your friends try to pull you back to safety. I'm going to yell, "Keep going! Court is with you!" My man. Now, as we've proven in DNR history, everybody gets one. So that's your one "Don't Die" card. Well, how far can you jump, Fee?
No, no. Follow my logic here. If you were having problems with the broken boards, and the more sturdy ones are better off, if he can get a jump past the two and land on the more sturdy ones, more likely... Imagine how much higher the check is going to be if he's pushing, like, weight. He's a light thing. He's walking on them and falling through. Jumping? You want him to jump on this? I don't think we should jump. I don't care. I'm just a disembodied voice. You can do whatever you want. You can do it, Fee. Totally your decision. Yep. I'm going to step forward again.
Oh god. History defeats itself. My knees are shaking like shit. Let's go. Fee, are you carrying anything on you right now? Almost nothing. So he's already dropped and is kind of falling through? Pause your gold back. I'll say this. I'll say this. If you drop your golden weapons... Okay, I didn't catch that because my computer broke it up. I'll say this. Yeah, like, if there's anything you think you can throw, just get naked and throw it. If you drop your golden weapons, I'll add a plus two to your checks. Wait, wait. Throw it behind you and it might land on the bridge.
Yeah, that'll be a check. That'll be an athletics check to see how far you can throw it. Totally up to you. I'll buy you a new sword. I will give you half my gold if you throw out your gold. We're going after Ruby's guy. You can requisition more gear, so I'd recommend just dropping it right in the hole. If he loses his gold, I'll give him the one gold piece that we got from that dead guy. Okay. If he survives. You can get dead guy gold, Fee. It's the sweetest gold. Ask N-word. He knows. It's the best word yet. I will chuck my gold back. What else have I got that I can chuck?
Your golden weapons. Let's just say those would be the heaviest objects on you right now. Your golden weapons. Go ahead and make an athletics check. And if you get a 15 or higher, they make it clean across the bridge back to your friends. Eggy, Eggy. I'm gonna yell catch and throw all of my shit. No! Well, fair enough. He is kind of hanging out there. Right. Your gold makes it about 10 feet before sailing through a hole in the bridge. How much gold were you carrying? I didn't want to count it just in case. It would be far too depressing. Let me count it for you.
Yeah, that was 23 gold. So that's... Come on. I can give you 23 gold. You're fine. Along with your weapon, which kind of clatters along the broken bits of bridge before falling through and joining your gold in the black abyss beneath you. The good news is that the acrobatics check you rolled seemed to be good enough to move on to the next bit of the bridge. Because it seems to be holding your weight once again. Now, you have... Go ahead. Was that all of my weapons or just my sword? That would have been your sword. Well, I said all your weapons. So that would be...
You are technically defenseless right now, arms-wise. You can punch things. Yep. Yeah. You have... Now, right in front of you, there appears to be one more really bad bit of bridge before it seems to level out a bit. You can do it, Phe. Go ahead and make another acrobatics check. Okay. Go, Phe. No! We can pull you up again, don't worry. Yeah. We got him. We got this. Take your armor off. Stepping forward. No, wait, wait, wait, wait. You're getting a plus two to that. So, okay. Yeah, still. Stepping forward. The bridge gives way beneath you. And you are at a point where you can kind of claw forward and reach up for a good portion of bridge.
So what I'm going to do is allow you to make a flat D20 check. And if it's higher than 10, you're going to get your fingers on the bridge at least. Everybody cross your fingers. I'm crossing my toes. Go cross your fingers. Okay. He has to grab it. Okay. Rolling now. Yes! Yeah! So, you get your fingers on this bridge. That's going to be a plus two to everyone's roll back across the bridge trying to save your life. Una, go ahead and make your roll to see if you assist. Nope. That is a negative one penalty. Marcus, go ahead. I gotcha. That is a plus one. So you're getting a plus five to your roll.
Gavin? Okay. Here we go. Sixteen. Sixteen will be enough to ensure that Fi does not plummet to his death. The rope goes taut once again and it seems as though, even though it's a strain on your muscles, all of you are assisting to pull this up like a tug of war. Like you're just holding it. Jetzia cheers you on, I imagine. Fi, you got a decision to make. Yay! (Laughter) You got past the worst of it. Yep. Yeah, that's the, you're done with the hard part. It'll be more difficult coming back at this point really. You should just go forward. Coming back, just sprint across as fast as you fucking can.
We can pull you up. Like MacGyver. And smack right into the wall below. No, just go limp and we'll just pull you across. Not bad actually. Yeah. They'll just pull you across, I mean. I'll give you some options for that. So it sounds like you're going to push on. Yep. You're more than three quarters across. You are almost there. So go ahead and make an acrobatics check. Okay. That appears to be, you appear to be more than agile enough to cross over the gap here. You've climbed back up. And you are on the next section of bridge. Which appears to be holding your weight just fine.
So go ahead and make another check. Perfect. That's a 25. It appears to be easier now. You've definitely crossed the worst of it. Go ahead and advance to the next section of bridge. Two more to go. Oh no. The boards flex underneath of you. And just as it feels like they're about to crack and splinter under your weight, you cross over to the next section of bridge. Go ahead and make your final check. Once again, you can hear creaking and shifting as the bridge almost wants to just reject you. Just principle. But you have made it to the other side. Yay! Excellent.
Good job. On the other side of the bridge. Yay! Our five vampires. We didn't make a perception check, did we? Damn. On the other side of this bridge. There appear to be a collection of different gemstones. Predominantly among them are rubies. This looks to be pounds of gemstones. You're going to be taking back quite the haul. Now, it's going to take a few minutes to collect all this as you have to pick them up, chisel them out of rock and things. Getting back is going to be interesting. Now, you have a couple of options I'm going to give you. You can slowly make your way back across, but carrying all this stuff is going to be a negative two to your checks.
Now, you can slowly try and make your way across and then throw the bag of stuff. No. I saw that work last time. Or, I'm going to give you the option to try and sprint across. Yes! That will also be a negative two to your checks, but you're going to skip two sections of bridge every time you do a check. Question. Yes. Could he stand on the other side on the rocks where it's completely safe and not going to fall off, tie the bag to the end of the ropes, have us pull the bag across, and then us throw the rope back to him? You can absolutely do that. Does anybody here have the ability to throw 80 feet?
I was about to say, that's the only draw back there. Can we tie it to a rock? I could throw something 80 feet, like a baseball bat or a baseball bat or a bat ball. How about this? How about we take two other of our ropes and throw them across so he can tie the bag to that and leave the one tied to feet? Mm-hmm. Good idea. So, who has a good athletics? I'll check. Yeah. Seems like Gavin would have a good athletics. That might be me. My athletics is a plus seven. Yeah, you do. There you go. Good athletics, yeah. All right, so the beefcake will step up. So, you're just kind of swinging this around over your head Wonder Woman style and just kind of trying to throw it across?
Hang on, hang on. This is the rope, isn't it? The additional two ropes? Yes. Could we not tie that to the rope that is already attached to me so that we have four lengths of rope tied together? Mm-hmm. And then let that out so that I have two lengths of rope on my end and the other two are still attached to you. Load that up and then we can reverse that so that you then have the full two on your side. Yeah, but you'll still have the bag on your side. No, no, no, no, because I would have attached the bag in the middle of the two ropes. Okay. Okay, you're trying to make it like a circular thing.
Like, I see what you're trying to say. I don't know how logistically that would work, though, because you can't meet in the middle to tie the ropes. I have an idea. No, no, but the- You still have to make a throw. All right. Right, well, okay, okay. The two ropes span the whole of the bridge. Right. Right? Yep. Right. So if you tie the two ropes together. Right. And then tie one end of that rope to the rope on their side. The additional rope. Yes. Okay. So you then have four pieces of rope all tied together. Uh-huh. Right. And then I reel in the rope. Right. So then obviously there would be two sections of rope- I get what he's saying.
Yeah, two sections of rope going across the bridge. Right. And then I have two lengths of rope slack on my side. Right. And then I can untie that, fill up the bag, tie the bag back onto the rope in the middle. Okay, okay. And then we take in the slack and boom. You're right. So that if it doesn't fall, like, okay, perfect. You're right. It makes sense since it's a backpack with straps or whatever that it shouldn't fall through or anything like that. You're right. Also, see, when you're coming back, secure it on the- secure the rope that you're tied to. Maybe, like, pull the slack back again and then secure it on both sides.
So I don't see a reason- Yeah, something's going wrong with Java for sure. It's cool, we'll fix it. I don't see a reason why the bag trick wouldn't work. I don't even see why there's a need for a check, that unless someone has a seizure in the middle of doing it, I don't see why I would force you guys to risk the loss of those gemstones. Now, here's the thing. The way these gemstones jet up from the ground, they're the only thing relatively close to this bridge that you can tie your end of the rope to, Fe. If you- and it doesn't look like they'd necessarily hold your weight, but they may give you a split second to, excuse me, to maybe react.
So that's up to you. If you would like to leave some gemstones there and try to tie it off, or if you just wanna- I mean, 'cause you're not getting a negative two penalty to bringing them back with you 'cause you're transporting them separately. Now if you sprint, you will get a negative two, but your friends also have a rope tied to you, so it's all up to you. Don't leave any gems. Put all the gems in the bag. We can take care of you. I'm gonna hose you to that. You might not be able to. I love that this team gently hosed you into this. It's like, "Yeah, yeah, send the gems back over first." That is mission complete.
I mean, that's pragmatic, really. All right, thanks, Fe. See you later. Bye, guys. Bye. We also convinced him to get rid of his weapon while he was going alone. Yup. Guys, this has been a long con since the beginning of this. Okay, we can climb down into the cavern if he makes it back safely and go grab the golden sword. You can try. That has its own challenges, but we'll get to that. Let's get Fe back across this bridge first. So let's say you're harvesting all the gemstones, you're saying. So several minutes go by. I imagine Fe yells back and communicates to you, "Holy shit, lots of gems." Just like that.
Just yeah. But in a British accent, so it sounds classy. Sliding one or two in his pocket going, "I don't see as many as I thought, though." So here's what we're gonna do. Oh, you rolled a... did you roll a check? Okay, that was before. Okay. So you send the bag back over, and slowly but surely, your team gathers up their slack under the rope again, and the bag of gems has safely made it. This big sack of gems. I imagine he just took his backpack off at that point and just sent the entire contents over. So this is a very valuable bag of gems to the Overwatch.
I imagine him looking at us and going, "Okay, now throw me the whip." Okay guys, we can go now. First give me the lamp and now you shall have your reward. You can do it. Fe, how do you want to cross this bridge? Are you gonna sprint? Are you gonna gently try and get across? Now the sprinting, you do take a negative to your checks, but you're crossing the bridge twice as quickly, so it's less checks. Yeah. Um, I think I'm gonna risk sprinting because I just went out of this cave. We got a cute Feast theme music now. What is your theme music there Fe? I do not know.
Doesn't it have to be, for this instance at least, the theme song to Raiders of the Lost Ark? Yes. Just racing behind him down the bridge. All right. I was gonna say, the Pink that or Pink Floyd's Run Like Hell, that's a pretty badass song. There you go. And it's got like a, you know, guy with a burly accent too. Um, anyway. Fe? If he sings it, does he get a plus one? I'll allow that, yes. Anytime I can force someone to sing on this show, hell yeah. Do it. What am I singing? You can't sing? Uh, it'd be Pink Floyd's Run Like Hell. I do not know that. Okay, then hum the Indiana Jones theme song.
The um, dun dun dun dun, dun dun dun. Yeah. Dun dun dun dun, dun dun dun dun. That's a plus one. That's fine. Okay, so a negative one to each one of your acrobatics checks. So Fe kind of takes a few deep breaths and just, fuck it, and just starts running across this bridge and your first check is a 25. That is gorgeous. Your foot hits the bridge and you just kind of spring off of it and the bridge is bouncing violently as you start careening across it. So go ahead and advance two spaces. Give me another check. Yeah. This is the most hardcore shit I've ever seen.
Oh, this would be right here. Yeah, there you go. Wow. Natural 20. Again, your foot pounds into the bridge a second time and you bounce forward. Go ahead. Two spaces. Give me another check. Now you're back to the tattered portions of the bridge. Oh, that's pretty right there. Can we get our checks? So the okay, 11, your foot comes down for a third time and you sail through this bridge. Like it's not even like you just stepped it just like gone. There was nothing but air. The rope goes slack. The rope goes taunt again. Una, give me a check. 22. Holy shit. Marcus, give me a check. 12.
That's a plus six, Gavin. Come on, Gavin. 20. Um, sailing through. So this time it's much more violent and shout them. Come on. The chest lasso you got on pulls taunt and a combination of your friends pulling and you sprinting forward, you are going to swing like a yo-yo forward and you are going to rip ass through the next six sections of bridge. One, two, three, four, five, six guys. So bad ass. Then you're going to swing under the good portion of the bridge. Give me another check guys. Can we run backwards to try and make sure he doesn't hit the wall? Um, I would say your footing right now is pretty much completely dedicated to holding him aloft.
So give me another check guys. Una, go ahead. That's a five. That's a negative one. Marcus. 15. That's going to be helping. So that is a plus three? One, two, three. No, plus five. Sorry. Come on. And then four for my strength is nine. Oh, I'm sorry. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. One, two, plus three. Sorry. 16. Okay. 16. Um, he is going to sail underneath this bridge and kind of kick his feet against the wall just as he would, just as he would hit it and kind of spring back. And you guys are going to pull him up onto the next section of bridge, just kind of using the entire momentum of the process.
Um, so he's Bruce Willis from diehard. Yes. Let's go with it. Well, Willis fell through the plate glass window. If you remember correctly, that didn't end well. Um, fee is moderately better in better shape than Bruce Willis and diehard right now. Not by much. Um, fee. Go ahead and make another check. 10. 10 will be enough to hold your weight as you climb back onto the bridge. Go ahead. Are you running? Are you running again or are you just, yeah, might as well. Yes. Run. Uh, okay. 26 and you have made it back across. Oh my God. I see Una just catching in midair or whatever as the bridge snaps.
Fuck yeah, that's canon. The bridge is almost completely unusable at this point. Like the entire center section of this bridge has been ripped to shit. Um, but the group hug is canon. Yeah. That. Congratulations. That was amazing. I, I am, I'm double daver. I'm panting, I'm swearing and I, I, I, I eventually managed to go, I am never doing that fucking shit again. Guys, I feel like that's a good time to stop this session. Beautiful. I'm looking forward to writing their report. Uh, congratulations again. That was fantastic. That was just so, so cool. That was so intense.
Yeah. I can't even. Edge of my seat. Yep. Oh God. I got to tweet about this a little bit. I was holding my breath. I'm not going to lie. Yeah, me too. Thanks for the backing by the way. That was, that was awesome. I, it must be my character cause obviously I don't want any of our people to die cause I made every possible role there as opposed to attacking a monster, which you know, maybe I'm just anti bug. I don't want to hurt them. You don't want to hurt anybody, man. I'm just good at saving people I guess. Yeah. Yeah. Marcus, you were actually fucking like the star kind of like healing everybody slash me constantly passing every check to save fee.
Well yeah, that I managed to do. I didn't do a whole lot on offense though, so you don't need to. Yeah. They're a hell of an MVP man, but man, the day is definitely fees. That was so intense. I don't know how cross with those big clanking brass balls he's got there. Yeah. If you drop those together, they're plus two. Nope. Man, that was a man. Yeah. Good first session guys. Technically she's a side. Not bad. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, first fight was just detrimental due to all positioning. Second fight we tore through it like we should have the first fight and then man, the bridge.
Wow. Take that Pentagon. That was frantic towards it. Like I need more time. So we got a few bugs to work out. We totally got a few bugs to work out, but we can do it. We can get it done before the next session, I hope. And yeah, next time tech wise, it'll go a little smoother. You guys did fantastic. Congratulations. That was awesome. Thank you. Thank you so much. I got to get rid of some programs here. I was definitely concerned after that first fight, I was blowing through everything that we did. Staff wise just going, oh, place is going to be tight. Yeah, that first fight was pretty nasty.
I was like, uh oh, this could go very badly. And then just beyond that is the bridge, which is so crushing. Well, again, attack things as you would in a military situation. You know, all right, we've assessed this issue. Go to the next one. We'll figure out what's there and move on from there. It's one hell of a party. Okay, this is going to be an acrobatic check guys. We send out Una. It was like negative one. No one even checks anyone else. That was great. That's Una brushing her head full. But dude, Fie, yeah, Una totally survived by the power of core to coordinate her.
Just pull. That was awesome. That was my thing in that cave that wanted to murder you. There were so many things in that cave, including the cave itself. It's the cave itself didn't want you anymore. It hungered for us. Man, that's the bugs could have murdered you. The cave itself could have killed you. The random poisons and there was stuff further in the cave. We're in the cave. We're not digging that part out. I didn't say if it was good or bad. I just said there was more stuff in the cave. We could dig it out now. We could take a nice long rest. Now that we have the gems, would we have been able to get up there by crawling down to the bottom?
You can't tell you that. Sure you can. We can't go back there. There's nothing for us there now. He has said many times he doesn't play what if. Cannon is cannon, sir. That's fine. I can't hear people. I'm sorry. We weren't talking to you. Oh, wait. No. That's Scott telling it like it is. Well, that was super enjoyable. Thank you, everyone. Yeah, I'm glad we can finally get a chance to sit down and record a session. Gavin is so torn up. Yeah. No healing, sir. Just three hit points. The parts that I heard were really cool. Well, you'll get a chance to. You'll get to hear the edited version.
Yeah. Now with 50% less fuck. I'm excited because it'll all be new to me. That might be a while. I'm going to work on it, but yeah, I'm going to take the bulk of tomorrow, I think, and work on it. I'm going to be able to get it done in four or five hours. Maybe. I'll try. Okay. It'll be cutting it close, but yeah, I got a group two session tomorrow. I'm hoping Java communicates a little better and we can get through it tomorrow. But yeah. Now, if there's any just pure raw processing power you need, Jason, that maybe we can work a Dropbox out or something. It's not the processing.
It's I have to listen to every second of the show. Yeah. That's the thing. I mean, the editing process is like, listen to a minute of the show, go back, snip 30 seconds. Listen to a minute of the show, snip 10 seconds. That's how it is. That's the editing. That's just, I can't cut any more out of it than I do now. I was going to say, Jason, the thing I really enjoy hearing about the episodes is the background music that you choose. I know earlier episodes, I'm going back to the first few, it seems like you got that same lute strumming song or whatever. But then I remember you start interspersing more and man, by the time Ona Kahl hits, it's beautiful.
Oh, it's like, I loved the atmosphere, the whole gripping my chair going, don't get die guys. Don't die. Oh, especially the part where they're picking the lock to the arena door. Oh God. The heartbeat type sound, the pounding. Yeah. You've gotten really good at this, Jason. Yeah, you're amazing. Thank you very much. Stop. Yeah. We'll try and, well, first of all, we're going to get rid of all the technical stuff and then we're going to try and pencil in another session and get you guys going a little further. But that is a definite great first step in your career as knights.
Cause you were sent in, you were sent in for what was probably going to be not a successful mission, but they're just like, all right, well let's see what they can do. And yeah, did fantastic. So yeah, you guys take care and have a great night and thanks for sitting down with me. Yeah. All right. So Sergeant Flusher is going to be so happy. Yeah. Good night. Good night guys. Night guys. Bye. Bye.
