[CLINKING] Peacocks. This summer, during the biggest sporting event of the year, Peacock turns to two broadcasting legends for the Olympics coverage you can't find anywhere else. I think they mean us. Oh, [BLEEP] Um-- [CLEARS THROAT] With an incredible duo sure to take home the comedy gold, Olympic highlights with Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson. New episodes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, only on Peacock. Coming to Apple TV+ on August 9th. You're the Marine? Yeah. You're the ex-con. Yeah, I did time, but you're only going to cast aspersions at me. From the director of Mr. and Mrs.
Smith and The Bourne Identity comes a new film. It's your first job? I know what I'm doing. It's a little late for a crit change. Starring Matt Damon. Everybody in New England is after us. And Casey Affleck. Go, go, go, go, go! What are you doing? Taking notes. Taking notes on a criminal conspiracy. The Instigators, rated R. Streaming August 9th on Apple TV+. Hey, everybody. This is Izzy. I play Una, the half-elf paladin on group three, obviously. If you're listening to this and you enjoy it, which you probably do because you're listening to group three and we're kind of like the black sheep, then you clearly like Dungeons of Randomness enough to give us a rating on iTunes.
Spread the word, tell other people about us because we're pretty awesome. And we want other people to enjoy how awesome we are. Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason. I'm the Dungeon Master. Going around the table, starting with-- let's start with Merlin. Hello, I'm Merlin. I'm voicing Gavin Dearborn, the human warlord. And Bree. Hi, there. I'm Brianna, and I am going to be playing agency of grace, the Fapac warlock. And Kat. Hi, I'm Kat Charlie. I play C, the changeling thief. And Scott. Hello, I am Scott McAvoy. I play Marcus Santa, the human cleric.
And Izzy. Hey, I'm Izzy, and I play Una, the half-elf paladin. All right, quick recap. Let's go over what you guys did last time. You ended up kind of cleaning up the town of Durnhollow a little bit, which is great for them. Turned out that Merle Richards had a brother named Jeb, who was kind of a piece of shit. Kind of. Kind of, just kind of. And he was threatening to burn down the rest of the town if Ellis Airway, the captain of the guard there in Durnhollow, did not bring the group responsible for Merle's death to him. Obviously, that wasn't going to happen.
And you guys were tasked with going in and securing the town for the Overwatch and getting that all ready. You ended up having to-- well, you didn't-- OK, this should be prefaced. You didn't have to fight Jeb. You wanted to fight Jeb. Some. Some of you wanted to. I regret nothing. Me neither. Yeah, Jeb was kind of a shitty shitball. So you ended up murdering Jeb and his goons and freeing his captives. There was some human and a mixture of human and mole gladiators and a big old mole named Grell with no tongue. And you kind of-- in exchange for you freeing them, they kind of started helping with some of the rebuilding effort in Durnhollow.
So let's pick up the next morning. You guys have had a chance to get a rest and kind of revitalized. Actually-- sorry. Sorry to interrupt. I was going to say, do you want to handle the revelation of Fi, what is going on tonight? Thinking that might be. You want to do that before you guys get some sleep? Go ahead. I'm thinking that, yeah, because we're starting to camp out. Yeah. Well, you don't even have to camp out. You're in a town. I mean, you're in Durnhollow. Yeah, we can take one of the abandoned buildings that one of the people who left out after the fire.
Oh, yeah. Yeah, so we'll take a nice one, not the nice one that the working girls are using because, you know. Nice is a relative term. A little loudy. Loud? Loudy? Loudy. Cassie. Loud and round. It's the perfect cover. It's just kind of hard to talk over all that noise. I'm distracted. Why is the floor sticky? Oh. Why is everything sticky? Why am I sticky? No change there. Anyway, so yeah, we'll take one of the neat little place that looks like it can be well defended and general military mindset as we're bedding down. So is this a thing where-- does Gavin want to address the group or-- First he's going to address V, and then he'll try to grab up the group.
But I figure it's everybody's kind of stuck here for the night, and we've got changing watches and stuff like that. Sure. Yeah, pull Fi aside. We did great things this day. So V? Yeah? Yeah, we've done some damn good work today. Yeah, we cleared up the scum from this town, which is always a good thing. We didn't hurt anybody who was under the employee there. I mean, got some snow in their eyes, but past that, nothing terrible. So yeah, I got to get better at this. I'm just terrible about babbling. You have something amazing that we really need to let the others know, because in the event of by accident, if that pops out like you're saying it didn't, I didn't even notice it during that whole Resurrection business.
We're going to need to make sure that that's known and try to come to terms with it right now. Hopefully-- I don't think we're going to have a problem. I mean, this is the best time for us to do it right after a battle, after the camaraderie is high and our morale is high. Yeah, I think that it's better to take it out into the open before any accusations start flying or something happens and somebody goes off on one at the wrong moment. Yeah, precisely. So any ideas on how to-- I mean, you know me. Usually, I'll start some sort of weird, tangential, nonsense before I start getting into it.
Any ideas on how I can cut that in half? I don't know. Maybe something about bonding, getting to know each other. I mean, that is what needs to be raised with me, although I need to get to know myself a bit better as well, I think. Yeah, definitely. This isn't something you should have to hold back on or anything like that. If anything, improving it, really harnessing it. You have a master of anatomy. You know exactly where to place the blade to kill anything that moves. So this should be nothing different. You should be able to use everything to the fullest.
I don't want to end up in a situation where I could have got us out by using my ability, but I don't because I don't want someone else to react in the wrong way. I wholeheartedly agree. All right. Well, there's been a bit of time over here. It's going to look weird. Let's break and let's talk to everybody. OK. OK. Sorry. Sorry to read the chat. OK, so yeah, I'm kind of like, hey, crew. Yes, sir? Yeah, your attention for a moment. That's a bit formal, isn't it? OK. Yeah, I was just telling V a moment ago, we did some really damn good stuff today. Think about, you know, we were able to help an entire town and we were able to get a job.
And, you know, and he kind of looks over both at Marcus and Una. Look, either way, I think this would have been resolved great. Una is going to do what she's going to do. And, you know, it's like kind of gives like a finger up in case she starts like, you know, saying anything. And I appreciate you immensely, Una. You always speak your mind. You, you know, you hold fast to your beliefs and look, you know, there's no way in hell I'm going to come off and say you should have shut up. There's, you know, because that's just not happening. You are who you are.
And I would have it no other way. Where is this going, Gavin? Where's this going? God, community togetherness. Lend me your ears, people. No. Spit it out, kid. It's like slapping his forehead. Did anybody notice anything during the resurrection? You can look at Jadzia and just like give her that like, yeah, we did look. Yeah, return. Yeah. Apparently I'm completely blind and had no recollection of much going on there. It was very emotional and, you know, apparently things just slipped my mind. And anyhow, when we walked Mrs. Fee's mom's home last night or, you know, a couple of nights ago, Flo, he ended up revealing to me more about his situation.
His situation? Sorry, Marcus. Yeah, it's oh, yeah. I really just got to spit it out. Fee has unique abilities. Yes, we know he's a phenomenal, but we've seen it. I will. Thank you very much. But that's not quite what we're talking about. Right. Exactly. He has the ability to change shape. And I don't know why I'm going to research this further, but there's not exactly a very good research library here. And obviously this research won't be done in the open because in case it's something that's more sensitive and Overwatch wants to, for lack of a better term, perhaps utilize his powers in some other fashion, perhaps body double work or something along those lines.
Or even dispose of me. Yeah, autopsy work, you know, try to figure out exactly how it works. He's kind of slapping him on the shoulder a little bit. That's not going to happen, man. We're, you know, we've lost you once. We're not losing you again. Thank you. Do me a favor. Marcus, Jadzia and Una, make either a nature or history role, please. You can pick one or the other. Not so much. Four. Four. Wow. OK, never mind. Una no like nature. These green things. Let's see here. Jadzia, Jadzia will know that that sounds an awful like, a lot like changeling stuff. Like that's not an extremely well-known race.
It's not like say tieflings or elves because the very nature of changelings is kind of secretive a little bit. Like a lot of changelings get work as assassins or thieves, that kind of thing. So not a ton is known about them. But Jadzia knows a bit about them. Like she knows that they can-- that the really good ones who get a lot of practice and have a lot of control over their abilities can look like anyone for short periods of time. And they can pretty much get access to anywhere as long as they're good at impressions. So that's a dangerous thing to-- that's a dangerous power to have.
She also knows that Fi is not human, if that's the case. All right, right now she's just going to keep that information to herself. All right, so yeah. Fi, not that I'm asking you to perform in front of everybody or nothing, but it would lend credibility. Not that I'm usually one to babble about silly stuff. Fi, I look around, make sure that we really are alone. And then I go, OK, this is all new to me. Only recently I've found out that I've been able to do this. And I've lived my whole life in Overwatch. And I'm entirely loyal to it. So anything that I can do will be for the benefit of Overwatch.
And I close my eyes, take a deep breath in, and my ears change. [GASPS] Dun, dun, dun. Oh, goodness gracious. I don't know if that's all that I can do. That is the anything that I have currently done so far. I haven't had a chance to practice or experiment with it, to be perfectly honest. Ever since it happened the first day, I've been so scared of it. I've not even tried to think about it too much up until recently. That's a weird power for a human. I don't know what I am at this point. I don't think I am human. Well, as far as I'm concerned, you are a member of our team until our higher ups tell us otherwise.
And since they wanted you to come back, you will stay as a member of our team as far as I'm concerned. Thank you. D looks nervously at Una and Jadzia. Jadzia's just going to kind of look away, like not going to meet your eyes. Una's just going to like kind of like glare at the ground for a little bit. Uh, fuck. Well, I told your mom. Yes, she does. I told your mom that I wouldn't let anything happen to you. Far be it from me to be the person to do anything to you. Thank you. Let's not tell anyone. And I mean anyone. No fucking Commander Grace and they'll look over at Jadzia.
Nobody about this. That's that's what I was thinking as well. Jadzia will nod. Come on, Jadzia, say something. Come over and like kind of kneel down by her, you know, put your hand on her shoulder. You're posing, Gavin Christ. Oh. Unless of course you are. She's just going to kind of pause for a while and then just like, do you remember anything after the blast? No, no. I remember I remember the energy of blast. And then the next thing I knew, I was waking up in the room. I didn't realize for a good few seconds that the blast wasn't still happening. She's going to look disappointed at that like nothing.
Nothing, I'm afraid. I'm sorry. Just in the chat. All right. That's sad. I think it's a good time to rest. You guys next morning, you guys are rest. Are you sleeping in shifts, that kind of thing? Are you just OK? Totally. OK, that's during the night, let's say actually more early morning, around like 5 a.m. somewhere in there. So there there's the sound of hoof beats as someone is riding into town. A lot of someone's actually. Now, I would imagine, OK, let's see who would be on watch right now, who would be who would be still up, who might look out a window or something like that.
Gavin, I imagine would take first watch because there's not much to see theoretically. Right. So this is more towards this is more towards like dawn. So, you know, this is second, third watch, whatever that would be. Well, Marcus, you're in charge, you set the watch order. You're Marcus. I know. No, I'm sorry, Gavin. Gavin, yeah, I actually say Marcus would probably be the one in that early morning, because it's probably when he's doing his, you know, greeting the sun type prayers anyway. No, no, he's not sorry. He's not a sun deity. He's he's a Roth. That's my bad.
But anyway, I guess I would still have Marcus up at that time. I'm a morning person, so there you go. So Marcus is going to glance out the window and there is a woman with an eyepatch. Oh, fuck. God suckers. No. And she is followed closely by what appear to be about 10 people in leather armor and things like that. These these appear to be the same grouping of militiamen who you guys encounter. You didn't exactly encounter them, but you did spy them on the road. This would have been a couple of days back. They dismount their horses and Ellis Arroway is in the street already, but early in the morning.
Those mole are actually still clearing bits and pieces of debris. And they either worked all night or they woke up very early in the morning and started to get back to work. I didn't even think about that. Just let them aimlessly do stuff. Yeah, I mean, they have a good work ethic. Most of that comes from habitual beatings, but I mean, they have a great work ethic. And the woman with an eyepatch walks right up to Ellis Arroway and they begin talking. And the woman looks to be-- well, actually, you know what, Marcus, roll a perception check please. 23. She looks to be quite upset.
And judging by-- you can just make out tone of voice. But judging by tone of voice, it would sound like she's looking for something. And the-- what you're guessing, the white ravens behind her kind of fan out and are just kind of glancing around town. So I don't know if you guys want to do anything? Well, I'm going to wait Gavin up at least, since I'm going to assume that we recognize this is the person that the girl we captured. Pretty distinctive. OK, eyepatch, we're going to know her. OK, so let's wake Gavin up. I'm going to show him what's going on outside.
No thanks, peace of mind. I don't need any more cookies. [LAUGHTER] What? Wake up. Don't make me look-- don't make me get up, Una, and have her wake you up. She hasn't had her coffee yet. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. What's going on? Check out who's outside. OK. The people that Brianna met up with and passed the information to are outside. This is bad. OK, wake everybody else up. I'll take a look. OK, I'm going to go get up the rest of the group. All right. Putting on my hat, looking out the window. What do I see? You see that woman with an eyepatch still having a conversation with Ella Sarraway.
And there are a few white ravens standing next to her, but the majority of them seem to be kind of traipsing about town. They appear to be looking for something or someone. All right. Yeah, everybody get armed quick. Eyepatch, bitch. Yes, yeah. That's right. But we're-- Una, we're severely outnumbered. We need to hold off and see if they're going to leave first and then report back that if Commander Grace really wants to go after the white ravens, they appear to be looking in this area, and he can send a detachment out to deal with it. That's logical. So you guys are going to try and wait it out?
I'm hoping that since we helped clear the town out, we helped save the town, maybe the sheriff isn't going to turn us over or at least let them know we're here. Maybe he's told them we've gone already. And the sheriff wouldn't know who we captured, so he would have no information to give. Maybe he'd help us. Maybe if we just charged him there, maybe he'd help. We just saved their goddamn town. They didn't exactly help us during the last combat. They were too afraid. From the information we've been given, one of the white ravens is the reason the brothels burned down.
That's true. She was-- the white raven was there and involved in that situation. I can't picture the sheriff looking too kindly on them. The girl did punch somebody out a window. And it was her friends that destroyed the place, so maybe we hold off and see if they leave. And we're ready. We've got a good defensible place here. If we have to, we can step out and see what we have to do. But this may be a discretion is the better part of valor situation. But Gavin, it's your call. I see merit in both sides. If we hit them now, we could bewilder them. But you have a very good point, Marcus.
We are outnumbered. Not that this ever stopped us before. However, we have to think of the bigger picture here. We do have one of theirs captured, somebody very important enough to go looking for him like this. Anybody else want to weigh in on this? You know where I stand. I do. That's why I say we keep our weapons close. But I believe we should wait it out. I agree. Yeah, me too. So time kind of goes by. And after about five or 10 minutes, the woman with an eyepatch stops talking to Airway. And the White Ravens kind of saddle up and just start to leave town.
They appear to be riding back the way they came. What direction is that? That would be back toward, let's say, the Overwatch forest. They're heading south. All right. So after a few minutes, they're completely out of town. Or at least it would appear so. And they left. Airway makes a beeline for your door. And kind of quickly, just knock, knock, knock. Like he's quickly knocking on it. Yeah, let him in. Captain Airway? I don't suppose you just saw that. I did. Come in. And he steps in and closes the door behind him. We have a bit of a situation. Go ahead. Those were White Ravens.
You know that. I'm familiar with them, yes? Well, they're looking for one of theirs. Girl. One I was telling you about came through three, four days ago. That matched the description. I see. They were pretty intent on finding her. Apparently she was supposed to rendezvous last night and never made it. So-- Could she have left with the group that she was talking to? I doubt it. She was supposed to meet them here, which she did, obviously. Deliver something. And then the woman with an eye patch just told me that they were supposed to rendezvous last night. She never made it.
And they're assuming the worst. Now, that has nothing to do with our town as far as I'm concerned. But I'm guessing that if you two run into each other, that's not going to be any good for any of us. So I just told her that I haven't seen her. And they appear to be back the way they came. I don't know how you want to handle this. Reinforcements are coming, I imagine? Yes. I'm hoping they'll be there in the next few days. Supplies as well. I will make sure that you are taken care of. If you have a list of anything that you need immediately, I'll make sure it's on the very first wagons along with the soldiers that are going to need to hold this position.
You kind of look, saying, I don't mean to seem mechanical about this. Just making sure that you're all taken care of. That's my primary concern. It's much appreciated. Building supplies are chief. And soldiers would be right after that. As long as we can lock the town down and make sure it's protected, I'm fine with anything you guys decide. Food and water are good. Bandages. Anything along those lines. Cookies. We always eat more food and water. But mostly it's building supplies. Once we get back on our feet with a brothel, then we can pretty much take care of ourselves.
Good. All right, then. We're going to have to circumvent them. You're right. We don't want to have a fight, especially not on your grounds. Durnhollow has suffered so much already. I agree. I'll get back to the restoration efforts, and I'll let you get back to what you were doing. Excellent. Thank you. And he steps out. I think we dodged a big one there, guys. His ignorance helped save himself and this town a lot of trouble. But yeah, we need to get moving. So I take it you want to head back to the city. Yes. Yes, anybody else has anything else? No, I'm set to go back.
Yeah, before we leave, actually, I will make sure that Arroway knows that ZAP, Laser, Nitro, and Grell are all-- they're definitely part of us, and treat them well and whatnot. And they should all-- and of course, address them as well. Let them know that they're still not under any sort of-- we don't own them, but them continuing to help out is really awesome and whatnot. Just be all inspiring and stuff. Yeah, that's pretty much understood. They get it. Like they're-- Yeah. They ain't stupid. I mean, they're-- Go ahead. You go first. No, I was just saying that they're pretty much happy just not to be whipped daily.
That's pretty-- that's a pretty good working center for these guys. So yeah. Before she leaves, I think Jodzia would like to give all of the money she has to the brothel girls, which is 48 gold pieces. All right. Drain whatever I've got as well, just to make sure the town has-- they can go out immediately if they have local supplies that they can grab. If they had traders come through or something like that, that they have immediate supplies. And I'll just put it on when we get back to town. I'll let them know what we lost and get replenished. Yeah, exactly.
Precisely. It was a business luncheon. [LAUGHTER] I'd like to give mine-- At the prostitute place? [LAUGHTER] Yes, yes, yes. I'd like to give mine to Grel and the slaves, or post slaves. Well, that's incredibly generous of you guys, considering you don't have much money to begin with. So that's really nice of you. So let's see here. Jodzia, Gavin, and Una are all going to give all of their funds, essentially, to the town of Durran Hollow for restoration efforts. That's very, very nice of you. So I'll make those notes, and we'll take that out of your character's wallets.
We're improving Alabama. We're investing in Alabama. Oh, fuck us. I was going to say, when you put it like that, you're investing in Alabama. That makes it sound foolish. That's just-- We're going to upgrade our Squeeze You Like a Piggy set. [LAUGHTER] Is that what you're saying? We put all our money into racism futures. They're very bad. Grits and bacon for all. How much of this is going to be edited out, I wonder? [LAUGHTER] Leave it off. Dear Alabama, I'm sorry. Please keep listening. You guys are good sports, and this is like the fourth episode in a row that we've taken a shot at you.
I live in New Jersey. Feel free. There you go. Have at it. Yeah. I'm in Detroit. I can sling arrows and catch them just as well. Oh, yeah. Well, it's bullets, but not-- Very true. No, no. We can't afford bullets. We have to throw rocks now. Crack rocks, yes. Syringes. [LAUGHTER] OK, so two days on the-- OK, here's another question. Are you taking the same route back, or are you trying to avoid the main road? I would say we're going to try and avoid the main road. Yeah. If we're trying to avoid conflict with the ravens right now. Yeah. However, we have a benefit on our side.
We are leaving the wagon here, I think, because we had mentioned about that with the women and children. But also, we have all the horses from the new vol, since they were riding in to come burn the town. We take those, and our land speed's going to be a lot faster. We don't have to drag a wagon. Very true. So we're going to lose a little bit of time, not going on the main roads, but we're going to gain time, because now we're on burly horses. Pony. And a pony for you. It's a sparkle. I want a big bug off horse. I want the biggest goddamn horse there is. So you want the kind of horse like Yenward and Draconis would have to ride on, or Ironhide?
Oh, yeah, just for fun. Just because it's big. She's got heavy armor, too. I just want to remind people, she's 5 foot 10. She's not even that big. No, she's not. She's adorable. That's the joke, that it's become like she's 6' 10" or something. Just like how we're all like, oh, Faye is so young. And then we find out he's the oldest of all of us. He's got great skin. It's-- Don't look at that. 21. You can morph your skin into anything you want. You're going to look young forever, too. That is true. I mean, at least in short bursts, yeah. His true form is just ugly as fuck.
He has to dash out for like a bathroom break every 15 minutes to redo his beauty. I'm actually a really short pig. Too many Oreos. So let's do this. So about a day and a half. That would be about a day and a half's ride. I imagine you're riding pretty hard back to the city. Oh, yeah. All right. Wow, that sounded sinister. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. So getting back to the city is-- OK, I imagine you're just going to Commander Grace at this point. Yep. OK. So that's-- so making your way to Commander Grace's office, there seems to be a bit of a commotion. It's a kerfuffle.
A ruckus, almost, you could say. A fracker, as the British say. Pardon? You guys have that weird sling. Don't worry about it. OK. We'll tell you what sling you have. Okey-dokey. Okey-dokey. And it appears that the guard duty in the hallways have doubled. It's almost like they're expecting something bad to happen soon, and they want to get ready for it. Take notice. Yeah, making your way into Commander Grace's office, he greets you. Ah, come in, quickly. I have a few things to discuss with you. All right. Firstly, what happened in Durin-Hollow? OK. We came in. We assessed the situation.
They're in need of some general supplies and soldiers to hold the place because they have, as they said, no way to defend themselves. Additionally, the remainder of the nouval, we-- apparently, a merle was running that particular branch and died, and his brother Jeb came in with a vendetta. He was going to burn the town down anyway and go after the monsters that did it, which apparently completely solidifies both Brianna and Rod Swells' stories. Everything confirms the field has-- we have all the proof we need. They're definitely our back, and yeah, we have a problem there, but we'll set that aside.
The immediate threat was neutralized. The nouval, again, were going to destroy everything, regardless of how it came out, just because apparently he has a revenge boner. [LAUGHTER] Sorry. So we resolved that. Also, the right ravens, the lady with the eye patch, are looking heavily for what we only assume is the scion we apprehended. That's about it. Well, that adds a new wrinkle to things. And Commander Grace is just kind of-- he's going to kind of narrow his eyes at Una. I'm going to need you to remain calm when I tell you this. We continued interrogations last night.
There was an accident. We had a young recruit who said he knew you. He was actually quite eager to prove himself. We don't really have any standard interrogators, as we normally don't capture. He was more enthusiastic than I would have had him be. The scion was beaten to the point of unconsciousness. She has been recovering. And normally, what we would do in a situation with a prisoner is, if they were to be beaten to the extent that this girl was, we would have them recoup. But we can't move her based on her condition. We can't risk her in the city, and we can't have her in anything less than maximum security.
We've tended to her wounds as best we can, and she is currently resting in her cell. To my understanding, she is still conscious. She regained consciousness a few hours ago. For most of the night, we had to watch her to make sure that she didn't die. And he's kind of waiting for Una's reaction. He's just kind of -- -Okay, she's just, like, staring fucking knives at this man. And she's gonna say, "First, where the fuck is Poe?" -And he kind of, like, pops, "How did you know who we had interrogating her?" -I know, my friends, that little shit. -Needless to say, he has been punished.
He is currently being dispatched to the Evergreen for, let's say, a not-pleasant duty. He will be there with the battalion. We plan to mobilize very soon to take back that section of the forest, but in the meantime, he'll be kept quite busy, I assure you. -I need to be able to talk to him, and I need to be able to talk to the scion. -If you think you can get something extra out of the girl, then be my guest. Afterwards, I actually plan on sending you to the Evergreen so your paths may cross with Poe, was it? -I'd like our paths to cross before. We have blades in our hands.
-Well, I'm afraid he's most likely in transit by now. Try to take a deep breath. And if you need to go talk to the girl, it may be better to keep her conscious and speaking. I trust you're not going to strike her anymore. -Far from it. V, you want to come with me? -Yeah. -Okay, Eren's just gonna whirl around, like, no salutes, no nothing, just, like, whirl on her toe and storm out of the room. -Sir? -All right. Yes? -Is there anything else you need to speak of? There's something else I'd like to bring up. -Well, I can brief you more about the mission I'm sending you on, but if you need to tell me something else, go.
-I think it's fair enough to assume, you know, that permission to speak is freely given. No salutes have been given thus far and whatnot. I just had a minor concern about our current status. Clearly, we're, you know, very low underlings, and I understand the documentation sent by Captain Tenbolt for this even before it blew up the size that it did. It looked to be we would be reporting to Sergeant Baker, and, you know, that's the nice way of saying we're getting a promotion. However, I think in our current situation, the last thing I want to have is anybody talking behind your back that why are you talking to such lowly types and whatnot, thinking that perhaps we should be elevated a bit more so that we can, you know, speak freely with one another without anybody, you know, question your, you know, your authority.
-I'm not really worried about anyone questioning my authority, but I understand what you're saying. -Right. -You have obviously proven yourselves more worthy than many of the privates who have joined up with this army, especially Private Tutillo. That would be Poe. -Poe Tutillo. I'm remembering that. -This is an interesting situation. Obviously, you are part of the Overwatch Army, but you operate outside of it. We need you to for many different reasons. You all will be given a promotion. -Thank you, sir. -And we will most likely be referring to you in different terms than our standard army.
Let me sort that out, and I'll have that squared away by the time you finish your next mission, hopefully. I'm going to be sending you into the Evergreen. We lost a highly experimental unit, and though it had a self-destruct feature, there are some within the army that worry that it could be repurposed and used against us, which, obviously, that can't happen. -Right. -We're going to be packing you with the same explosives that you used for our drow problem. Your mission is to find this unit. It shouldn't be hard. It's quite large, and it should have sliced a decent path through the forest.
When you do find it, make sure that it is completely inoperable and unusable for anyone else. We don't have the manpower to drag it back, and to be honest, we don't have the time. Is that understood? -Yes, sir. -All right. You'll be requisitioned the explosives you need, and after you're done talking to the girl, I would hope that you get started on this immediately. -Yes, thank you, sir. As far as requisition of equipment, are there any limitations to what we can gather up? -What did you have in mind? -Enchanted gear, just in case we run into elves. -Hmm.
You understand that these things are at a premium. -I do, sir. -I'll -- I'll see what I can do. You shouldn't require much resistance. You shouldn't get much resistance from elves. This should go without saying, but this is mostly a stealth mission. -Yes, sir. -The explosives will be waiting for you on your way out the door. Thank you. -Thank you, sir. -All right. So, it's -- it's Una and Fi who are going to see Brianna, right? -Right. -Yep. -All right. So, walking into her cell, which is heavily guarded, by the way, there are at least four guards in the hallway standing outside and then two more around the corner by the doorways that would lead back into the city.
So, she is -- she is tied to the chair -- shackled, hands behind her back. Not tied to the chair, but her hands are shackled behind her back. And her arms are kind of wrapped around the -- the support of this chair, which appear to be in an effort to keep her from falling out of it. She is, in a word, fucked up. Her hair is still kind of, like, swooped over the one eye with -- it just barely, though. You can see that it's -- it's fucking really swollen. Her lips split. Her jaws just bruised. I mean, this guy did a number on her. Like, he really laid into her.
She is conscious, though. And as Una kind of walks into the room, she -- she looks up and, with the one good eye, she just kind of narrows it and -- and just kind of following Una the entire time, like, coming into the -- coming into the room. -Oops, that was muted. What happens when she sees Fi? -Now, okay, is Fi just walking into the room directly behind her? -Actually, it's probably better we keep her in the hallway for a little bit. -Okay. -I'll just, like, I'll pull my side right before I enter and be like, "Fi, just wait here until -- until I call for you.
I don't want to -- I don't want to shock her unless I'm getting a good look at her face." -Okey-dokey. -Okey-dokey. So -- -Is that -- Is the charm ever gonna wear off for okey-dokey? -Never, never. -Okay. Just -- -So, Christ, this is gonna be the worst. Instant lay on hands. Actually, I'm gonna pause before, and I'm gonna say, "Can I touch you to heal you?" -She's just -- She kind of looks questioned. She's like, "Since when do you need my permission?" -I'm not torturing you anymore. That's not -- That's not my job. I stopped that. We're done with that. Now I ask.
-Fine. -Okay, I'm gonna put my hand, like, very gently on her shoulder and lay on hands. -So, the way healing works, just to clarify anything at home 'cause I know I'm gonna get an e-mail about this. Healing doesn't fix cosmetic damage. If there's a hole in you, it'll fix a hole. If a bone's broken, it'll fix the bone. You are still in pain for the most part. It's not as much pain as if you would still have a broken bone or a hole, but it's not like, "Boom!" It's all better. Like, it'll keep you from dying. But, yeah, you still wake up sore or you still wake up -- You know, like, there are consequences to things.
I'm gonna have to write a whole article about that. -I know, 'cause it's not detailed enough for people. I know that. -I get it. Like, the swelling doesn't go down, but, like, it's obvious that, like, there's not, like, damage done anymore. -Right. Just to -- Yeah. -Gotcha. -Okay. -Okay. So, she doesn't look better, but she feels better. -Yeah, a little bit. This definitely takes the edge off. -Okay. I'm gonna ask her, "Do you need any more?" -I'll be fine. So, what do you want? -Two things. First, motherfucker that did this to you is going to die. I made Commander Grey's promise that no more harm would come to you, and I'm gonna spread this motherfucking pain around.
And secondly, I have someone that I would like you to meet. I'm just gonna, like, wrap on the door. -I open the door and walk in. -So, look on Brianna's face, complete shock. Just dip. Like, she kind of determined, just pissed off to see Una. She did not have a good night, and then you follow that up with, you know, Una walking in the next day. So, she's thoroughly believed. It's like, "I'm catching another beat, and fuck." And then Fi walks in, which shouldn't be. How? -We watched a lot of power. -I killed you. I saw you die. There was no way you lived through that.
-No, I didn't. I did die. -So, she's just, like, slack-jawed staring. That means someone had to bring you back. -Yeah. Well, you know, we have clerics. -You have clerics? I wouldn't think there'd be any of them who'd put their own neck on the line to bring you back. -And what makes you say that? Do you know me? -I know that you're not very high up in this army. -We're making our way up the ranks fairly quickly. -So, she's just, like -- That shock's starting to wear off her face, and you're so fucking smug about the fact that you're still alive. -Who would I be?
-I do not want to happen. -So, more of a look of determination is kind of -- kind of -- Let me ask you a favor, Una. How close are you to her? I mean, you're close enough to touch her, right? -Yeah, yeah, like, I'm next to her. -Okay. Make a perception roll, please. -Okay. Perception...20. -So, you hear the faintest sound. -Oh. -And it sounds like...Shackle's unlocking. -Mm-hmm. -Now, Bree's gonna make an athletics roll. And if it's successful, we'll go from there. But what's happening is, Brianna Shackle is coming loose, and she is going to try and make a play to grab at your throat.
-Okay. Fair enough. -Okay. -The grab's attacking her. Fortitude or AC or... -AC, please. AC, please. -This would be reflex, I believe, 'cause she's trying to move quicker than her. She's trying to get to you before you can... -Lowest skill. She has to get, like, a three or better. -Is there anything that I'm gonna be able to do in reaction, or will I not be able to... -You would not be standing close enough to her, is the thing. -Okay. -Since I heard the shackles unlock, is there something I can, like -- Could I roll, like, I don't know, something like a diplomacy?
Like, be like, "I see what you're doing. Do not fucking do that." -What we'll do is, because you -- So, the way this is gonna play out, right, you're hearing it a split second before something happens. So, what I'm gonna do is, I'm going to shave three off the roll just because it's like, "Oh!" Like, it's happening -- Like, this girl is quicker than you. That's the -- You're a tank. Like, you can punch her to death, but she's quicker than you. So, I'm gonna have her roll to plus eight instead. So, let's see what happens. 15 versus your reflex. -Yep, that's gonna hit.
-Okay. Brianna shackles loose, and she springs into action and grabs Una by the throat. Now, that's not very threatening for anyone like her size because it's not like she's going to squeeze your fucking throat and your head's gonna pop off or something. That's not -- And she can't really choke you. -Well, she might put the sigh on -- You know, just, like, sigh on her fingers through my window. -That's -- Oh, she could totally let loose a blast that'll remove your head from your body. That's the thing. So, you're kind of in a predicament. So, she grabs you by the throat.
Okay. One of two things is getting ready to happen. You are either going to help me get out of this city, or I'm going to kill you. Your friend is gonna watch, and then I'm gonna turn on him and see how many of you I can kill before you kill me. Either way, I am not going to be held captive here anymore. And she's very deliberately quiet while she's saying this, as not to -- kind of calls any ruckus as not to, like, get any guards in here or anything. -Okay. I'm just gonna start chuckling. -Okay. -Like -- Holy shit. You have balls. Okay. First, let go of my throat.
-That's not gonna happen. -No one's gonna fucking believe that I'm taking a captive outside the city with fucking official permission if you've got your hand around my throat. -And she's kind of thinking about that for a second. It's like, "Okay. I want him standing in front of me." And she points over to Fi. -Mm, no. That's one thing -- -You're telling me it wouldn't be believable that you'd surround me and take me out of the city? -Fi's not gonna be in front of you. -You're not leaving me with a lot of options here. -I'm doing what it's gonna take to get you out of the city.
That's gonna be hard enough as it is if you have all these fucking demands. -She is going to very gingerly loosen her grip on your throat. -Is it that I was, like, tensing, like, my neck? Like, she actually had to -- Oh, God. -Your mind makes it real, Neo. -I was holding my breath and was like, "Please stop that." -Okay. But she is very much at the ready. Like, she's -- she kind of is taking one step back. Okay, then what's the plan? -We're gonna have to get my entire group in on this because there is no way in hell that they will believe just me and Fi.
What we're gonna do is we're taking you to a more secure area. They already mentioned that it's very difficult to have you in the city, so we're going to escort you to a higher-security compound outside the city. I have no idea where the fuck that might be, but we'll see how that works. And then I guess we will let you go and hightail it in the other direction. -And you think they're gonna buy that? -If they don't, smash faces, whatever. -And what happens to you after all this? -We will pro-- Well, if we get caught, I'll take responsibility. I'll say I forced them into it.
I die. Whatever. -We won't let you die, you know. You know that. -Don't worry about me, Fi. -Brianna's just gonna flash a look at Fi, like, "Shut the fuck up." Like, just -- She's just gonna nod her head, "You should go get the rest of your group." And she's nodding at Fi. She stays with me until you all get back. -I look at you, and I say -- -I'm gonna nod. Like, swallow with a card and nod. -Okay. Yeah. Yeah, I'm gonna leave the room and go back and find Gavin and the rest of them. -So, the rest of the party, I would imagine, kind of hurriedly joins -- What's Fi tell them to get them into the room?
-Oh, God. -Does he lay the situation on them, or is it more like, "We have a thing you might want to see over here"? Like, is it more like that, or is it like, "Fucking get down the hall quick"? -We're in the armory, I imagine. -Okay, so, everyone's together in, like, the same location. -Sure, yes. -Okay, yeah. I get in, I go, "Gavin, everyone. Una, Bri, situation. Now, come on." -I'm questioning, like, "Go, go, go." Try not to run, 'cause I take it. We're keeping this quiet, right? -Yes. -Okay, okay. -So, rest of the party gets back, and Bri and Una are standing in this room.
Bri is very much unshackled at this point. -Um... -Don't worry about it, Gavin. Don't worry. I've got this. It's gonna be all right. -Gavin, do me a favor. Make a perception roll. -Will do. -Is there poop running down Una's leg? -[ Laughs ] -The armor is holding it in. No one can see. -12. -Okay. I keep forgetting Gavin is not incredibly perceptive. -No. -So, as you're walking into the room, you're noticing Bri kind of toss the remainders of her shackles over across the room. There doesn't appear to be -- You don't see -- There doesn't appear to be any lock-picking tools or keys or anything.
There also doesn't appear to be any damage to the shackles themselves, and she had no access to the outside of the shackles, being as how her hands were encased in those big, like, lead balls. -Are those -- I take it those big lead balls are not on her hands anymore. -Oh, no. They were part of the shackles. -Yeah, that's right. -Sorry. Just in the chat. I want to punch things. I want to actually punch things. It's gonna be a life. -Um, yeah. Look down. Look up. What's going on, Una? -We're gonna help this balls a little bitch out of the city. It's either that or we die.
And, honestly, I don't think bravery, like hers, deserves to be cut down by 80,000 guards. So... -All right. Let's look at this logically. Right now, the last time you advise -- You -- He looks over at, you know, hard at Bri and says, "She threw herself against a direct order to make sure that you were not further harmed, and yet you were still beaten, beaten to a point where you were unconscious." So we clearly know that we have absolutely no voice in this situation. Anything that we do to keep you here, you're likely gonna see the rope eventually. So, you know, let's look at the facts there.
So if we help you out here and it's discovered, we'll all be tried for treason and hung. If we don't, you're going to kill us off one by one, make it out the hallway, and eventually be struck down. And as Una has put it, you've had nothing but -- You know, you've been a powerful foe, but you've never cowered or begged for your life. So I don't see -- Una, if you've decided that this is the course of action, I won't sway you from it. Now, the question remains is, do you have a plan to actually get us out of here? I've -- He's looking over something. I'm gonna need just a moment to think.
I might come up with something. Gavin, we're gonna need your fucking brains 'cause I don't have them. But, Breanna, you're going to have to look weak as shit. I mean, we're gonna have to sling you over someone's shoulder and carry you out like you're unconscious or something. We can't have you walking all scion-y charged behind us. -Whoever's carrying me, though, if I think for one second you're trying to double-cross me, I will blast the hell out of you. -Bria, that's been addressed already. You've heard exactly what the situation is here. The crew you have here, they listen.
They don't have hidden agendas. They don't have any way of -- They're not going to double-cross. So what you need to do is put a little bit of trust and faith, just like I do, in every one of these people you see around here. -She's -- Like, a look comes over, and he's like, "Are you fucking kidding me? Really? I don't trust any of you. The last time one of you promised me something, I caught a vicious beating the next day." -That was not my fucking fault. -It wasn't, and as you can see, pulling you away from that situation. -And she's starting to raise her voice, and then she -- You know, nothing ever seems to be your fault.
You're just following orders, or someone else acted outside of orders. Do any of you ever actually claim responsibility for anything? -I'm responsible for beating the shit out of you the first time. I'm responsible for taking you out of this fucking city, so shut up. -You know what she says? -Yeah, she's just looking. Like, she kind of, like, head snaps towards Una when she's like, "Oh, I was responsible for beating the shit out." She just snaps towards you, and then, after reminding her what the end goal is, she kind of calms down a bit. -Fee, come here.
Come here. You kind of bring over to the corner. Just a moment. Una talked to her, just, you know. So, I have kind of a plan, and I'm wondering how you're feeling about it. -Okay. -Una, you haven't had a lot of practice with what you got, but do you think you can look like her? -Um, I could try. Give it my best shot. -Right. Okay. Well, obviously, don't start just yet until we get this fully ironed out, but I'm thinking that just maybe we can do a bit of a body swap, and I'm not sure of the specifics of this, but I'm thinking of all the tools at our disposal right now.
It sounds like, you know, if we can -- Anybody -- Yeah, so, all right. So, I pat him on the shoulder, come back to the group. Anybody else want to weigh in on this? -I was telling Bree before you guys got here. Remember Commander Grace? That shit was saying that she needs to be moved to somewhere higher security, somewhere out of the city. -Can we think of a place that actually that can be? 'Cause we can't just make something up. -Marcus, you're the one that studies maps all the time. Is there some place that Overwatch has control over that might be considered maximum security?
-I'd have to discuss it with Commander Grace. I didn't know where he was gonna consider moving her to, but worse from worse, we could -- The problem is taking her south out of town doesn't help her. Maybe we could say we were taking her to one of the smaller, you know, villages on the outside where we could post guard and keep her there. Other than that, maybe exiling her to an island, using that as a cover, saying we were gonna take her down to one of the small fishing villages and have her shipped out to an island. 'Cause once she's on a boat, if she uses her power and destroys the ship, she's gonna kill herself, too, so.
-For what, in prison? -If you're trying to get her out of town, that's my only thought process, is we have to come up with somewhere that makes sense. Exiling her anywhere on the continent, we can't keep her here, we can't control her out there, she's going to get away. If we make it look like she's unconscious to take her out of town, and that's what we're going to do, is we're gonna march her to a fishing village or put her on a boat and send her to an island, nobody will ever hear from her again. -I've got an idea. It's ballsy as fuck, but I think we can try it.
We've established you don't have balls, you have jets. -Thank you for reminding me. I forget sometimes. We just take her. We just take her and leave. Anyone who gets in our way, anyone who questions us, we just tell them that we have to take her somewhere and we have to keep the information and the location of her whereabouts private because who to who knows what's it, we can't -- we don't want to spread around information. If Commander Grace stops us, we're kind of fucked. But anyone else, I think we can manipulate into thinking that we're higher level than we are.
-I'm not comfortable with that plan, but I don't know that I have a better one considering the situation. -We need one more piece of logic taken care of. I look over at Bree. How did you get out of that? -She -- She's very much like, "Why would I tell you that?" Let's just say that everyone within this city isn't as dedicated to the cause as you think they are. -All I ask is a name. It's not going to change the fact that we're getting you out of here. -Can I grab Gavin's arm real quick? -Yeah. -Gavin, we don't need a name. The Commander will know everybody who came down through this tunnel into this area.
He will know everybody, and they will have that person outside of a day. -As it stands, he's going to round up everybody, including, you know, us eventually when we go, as well. -Well, we're going to be rounded up when we set her free. This is going to end our military career. -So, again, you guys got a decision to make. 'Cause your plan is basically walk out the front door with her, which might -- you might be able to bluff your way out, and you might be able to make your way out in the short term, but it wouldn't be very long after that before they realize what's going on.
-I didn't think we'd defect this early, guys. -I don't -- I cannot see Judzio going with this plan at all. I don't want to be that one, but I can't think of a reason why she would, except for not dying, which is a good enough reason, I suppose. -If she doesn't, we can always have, like, a cool showdown and be like, "Motherfucker, we are going to do this." Like, "No, we are not, bitch," you know? -[ Laughs ] -Uh... -Shh. -If Jesse has got a point to make, I'd like to hear it. -Yeah, if you have -- yeah, voice that stuff in-game. -But anything that she voices, Brianna will hear.
-He could step out of the room with someone. Obviously, there's still the rest of the group in here. -I mean, too, the cat's out of the bag at this point. Like, I mean, cards on the table. I mean... -Analogies. -Analogies! Yeah. I mean, it's -- at this point, you're -- I mean, it's one or the other. Either you are going to just try and lock the situation down and make sure she does not escape, and you will be in a fight, or you try to sneak her out. And, I mean, there's nothing that says you can't try and turn on her in the middle of that. Or you did it under duress, or -- I mean, I'm just -- I'm giving you your options.
-It's just so hard, 'cause outside of game, I want her out of the city so bad. But in the game, Jesse would not want her to escape. -Obviously. -I don't think anyone does. -Bri, would you be willing to sacrifice part -- not you, in character? -Yeah, see, that's -- -Oh! -That's so many times. -Yep. Would you be willing to sacrifice part of your hair? For what? -So I can eat it? -No. -Gain her strength. -If -- No. If we take her, and we're going to -- If we're going to do this, if we're going to take her out of this town, we can come back showing we were beat up, but claim that we killed her and took a chunk of her hair as proof, and we buried her in an unmarked tomb so nobody would find her.
-I'm not one to shoot down your ideas, but I'm not quite sure of that. However, the hair-cutting thing, it would be harder to determine that this is her prisoner if she looked radically different. I was figuring some sort of outfit or something along those lines to, you know, to put her in, something that should be less noticeable. You know, we have helmets. All we have to do is cut her hair fairly close, stick a helmet on her, throw on her outfit, and hopefully get her out before anybody realizes who she is and just basically kind of surround her and not make it look like there's six of us but just five.
I'm fairly certain we can make that work. -So you're suggesting -- You suggested that out loud to the group. -Yeah. -So at the suggestion of cutting her hair, Bree just, like, you can tell she's incredibly uncomfortable with that idea. She's just -- Oh. Like, she hates that idea. -Look, we're not exactly, you know -- We're not a flush with options right now. -Fine. Let's just get it over with. -Right. Okay. Everybody, are we in agreement this is what we're doing? -Wait, wait. How are we gonna take her out of here? We walk in, five of us. There are guards lining the hallway.
We walk out with a boy. -Mm. -Are we saying that someone's gonna have something sharp really close to her head? -That's one of the reasons she's uncomfortable with this idea. -Yeah. I like that idea better now. -Someone just slit her throat. Just -- -Yeah. -I did not say that in character. -I should say that works on that trust issue that we've -- -Okay. -I mean, what would that be against? It would be against her reflex, which is, like, her highest thing. -Oh, you're actually -- -She's legitimately thinking of it. -That's awesome. -Oh, yeah. You can try it. Like, if you're, like -- Let's say -- Well, Fi uses knives, so, I mean, that would be -- -The guard was doubled outside.
Does that mean it went from one to two, from two to four? How many guards are outside? -Okay. There were two. Now there are four, and there are two at the other end of the -- like, around the corner down the hall. There are other cells in this area. They're not standing directly outside of the door to this cell. They are in the hallway, though. -Okay. If we're going to take her out of here, group, we need to have one of us leave, go back, have a short conversation with Commander Grace, or at least go into his office for a moment, and then come back saying that we have orders to take her out.
-Gavin -- -You probably have the -- -No, at least that way, it looks like somebody went and spoke to the commander, and we just didn't come running down here, grabbed her, and ran out of here. -I've not had any -- I've not had much interaction with the commander, and Gavin is more likely to have any reason to go in. I mean, it doesn't matter what he ends up talking to him about, but he's the one who always ends up going in and talking to him. So it would be more believable if Gavin went in and had a conversation with him. -Gavin's bluff is worse than mine.
My only thought is I could go up there and say that she needs actual medical treatment. -I like that. -And I'd like to take her out. And then if worse comes to worse, we take her somewhere. We're under full guard of her. She escaped from us in an attack if we need to find a way to get her out of here. -Okay. That's a very -- -You want me to give it a try, guys? -Yeah. -If we get shot down, then we're running out of chances here. -Okay. Yeah, if you can get Commander Grace to sign some sort of thingy or whatever, advising a medical transfer, that sounds like our best option.
I'd rather not hurt any of our own guard or anything along those lines. -All right, so I'm going to make my way back up to Commander Grace's office and speak with him. -All righty. He's -- Come in. I assume you saw the girl. -Yes, sir. She's in bad shape. My immediate concern is, even with my healing skills, she may not make it. And if you want to try and get more information out of her, we need to take her somewhere where she can get some healing. We need to get her to the temple. -We've discussed this. We can't let her roam about the city, even under guard.
If she gets loose or makes a break for it, she could hurt innocent bystanders. -I understand, sir, but I really feel that she has more information that could be even more important to us and keeping her alive if, for no other reason, we know she knows information about not only the White Ravens but about the group that is being mustered against us. She could also be a bargaining chip. Hold that over their group. -You know, we've held it under wraps so far that she's even here. If we can -- Maybe if we let word out, we can draw them into a conflict where we want it to happen instead of waiting for them to come to us.
-I know she was in bad shape. I didn't -- You honestly believe that she could die if we don't get her to the temple? -I believe that she could become useless to us, whether she'll die or just become so withdrawn she refuses to speak at all. I'm not sure. -Maybe I should take a look at her. I didn't think she was in such bad shape. I knew she -- -She's barely conscious at times, sir. She's in and out. I don't know that you going down there would really help the situation. We've got our people down there, as is. You've trusted our group so far with this. I just can't do much to help her, as, you know, I'm still learning.
-Of course. I don't expect you to be able to work miracles. If we do this, I want a battalion of guards surrounding this girl. I don't care how broken she looks. If she makes a play for anything, you cut her down in the streets if you need to. Do you understand? -Yes, sir. That's your call. -I'm trusting you on this. You gather -- Tell us where the battalion will be, and we will bring her out. -I'll arrange to have them meet you halfway to the temple. It won't be that long. -Okay. Thank you, sir. And I will salute and head back down. -He salutes. -Okay, well, when Marcus is gone, should Zia pull Gavin aside real quick?
-Sure. -So, she's gonna, like, grab his arm and pull him into the corner. Can't leave the room because then the guards will see us, and they'll get suspicious. -Right. -Yes. -She's just gonna, like, not even look at you. She's just staring at your chest, and she goes... As our captain, are you seriously considering this? -I'm considering the fact that if we don't, she's going to hurt a lot of people before she gets out of here. I'm also considering the fact that we've kept her alive this long, and she knows that we -- you, I, and, you know, and our crew -- we're not the enemy.
I want to give her -- if she is going to escape and go back to her people, I want her to realize that we have some compassion and that we're not just faceless monsters. This is -- -She is the enemy. She killed Fi without a second glance, and now she's mad that he's alive again. She is the enemy, and we're gonna let her go? -Don't you tell me about that. You know how distressed she looked when she was being interrogated about the fact that she did that. She knew that she was wrong. -She looks a lot less distressed now, trying to threaten us. -She's scared.
Look at her. Give a second look. The fact that she even let -- you know, that she's not having her glowing hands to one of our throats right now is definitely a plus. This is a matter of trust. Look, I wouldn't -- -You're going to commit treason because you feel bad for a doe-eyed girl? -This isn't about us. This is about the greater good. That's what our army is about, stopping people like her. -What this army is about is winning this war, and the reason that we're gonna do this is -- Tell me this. When we strike the final blow, when we win -- I'm not saying if, I'm saying when -- we have the numbers, we have the right.
We are going to win this. When that happens, do you want the people of all Theria to raise their fist and cheer, or do you want them to bury their hands and sob that tyrants have now taken over their land, and now it's thousands of years of darkness or whatever? I, for one, want those people to cheer. I want them to know that when we win, that they supported the right side, that when unification comes, that everybody is pleased to fly under the banners of Overwatch. That's what I want. I don't want to be short-sighted. -You're going to do it by letting go prisoners behind your captain's back.
He's two rooms away, and you're committing grand treason against him, and you can tell this is a little bit because it's their father. -Yeah. -You can hear the emotion there. -I think your judgment is clouded. -She's gonna cut you off. Your judgment is clouded. -Really? -We've taken her down before. -What's judging -- -Just the four of us, and now we're surrounded by guards, and you're gonna let her call the shots because she looks sad. -What is clouding my judgment? -You want everyone to like you? You're a soldier. No one's going to like you while you're fighting them.
-I don't want the world to like me. I want the world to like the Overwatch. -The world isn't going to like the Overwatch if you let killers escape, and she's gonna, like, motion towards Mariana. -And what are we? -We are soldiers, and you are forgetting that. -We're killers. If anything, we don't have a right to be in this world. This Overwatch that we're building, it's almost like we're helping to create a monument only to climb up it and leap off of it to our own deaths. How long till one day they look upon us and see our crimes and decry us of our war crimes and sentence us to death?
There's no telling. -That is what we gave up when we became soldiers. You knew that when you signed on. Sometimes people don't look at us with favor. That's something you have to accept. -Are you willing to sacrifice our lives? Are you willing to sacrifice the lives of the guards in the other room? We know the power that she has. She's going to punch through them like paper, not before she kills every last one of us. -We captured her, just the five of us. -Yes, and we lost one when we did it. -He is stronger than all of us. -I've never seen him wield a sword in combat.
I've only heard the stories. I can attest to his strength. He has a great deal of words. He has the power of the sway and the ear of the king, but I've never seen him wield a sword in battle, so... -She is gonna look -- -You're putting a lot of stock in your father. He's gonna be furious. We're likely going to be discharged for this. We're gonna be tried for treason. We're going to die. But I won't have it at the hands of her. -I wash my hands of this, and she's gonna walk out from. -She's walking out of the room. -Can I stop Jadzia before she walks out? -You might want to stop her, 'cause she's going to Captain Grace.
-Yeah, so Una's gonna, like, jump away from Brie and grab Jadzia. Good God. This is gonna be so bad, so fast. So she's gonna, like, slam Jadzia up against the wall and be like, "Do not, do not fucking dare. You and I share a God. You know that I promised this girl that no more fucking harm would come to her, and look what they did. Look what they fucking did. Our leaders are liars." -At that part, he's gonna look over. She's gonna look over and see how messed up Brianna looks and kind of look a little bit sad by that. -We can't leave her in a place where our strength and bravery can't guarantee her fucking protection.
She's too brave to be disrespected like this. You know it, and so do I, and this is why this has to happen. It's not because I'm afraid of dying. She can fucking kill us. I don't care. But we can't allow this to happen in good faith and still feel like good followers of court. -Jadzia's gonna take a very shaky breath. Fine. But they can't find out it was us. -No, they can't. -We have to do this with stealth. We have to think this through. -Brie's just gonna, like, the entire time -- She's standing there while all this is happening. It's in the same room. I don't mean to interrupt, but time's kind of ticking on this.
They're gonna get suspicious if you're in here yelling at each other. -All right, so as soon as Marcus comes back, we get his information. We gather up the equipment that we're gonna take for our next step. We go towards there, and then we find out. I guess we'll have to wait for Marcus' intel. -And while Marcus left and Jadzia and Gavin are talking, can I go up and talk to Brie? -Go ahead. -Okay. I want to look at Brie and go, "Brie." And then I take all of my weapons off. I unstring them, take them out of my belts, and put them on the floor behind me. And I want to go up, not right to her, but say, "If I remember correctly, I'm the one who attacked you first.
You didn't know at the time, but we wasn't going to kill you. And you fought bravely, and you fought very well, and I respect the strength that you have. I just want to say, even though you killed me, I'm back now, and I bear no ill will against you. You're a very good fighter, and I hope you live a good life. And I want to put my hand out to shake hers, if possible." -She's going to kind of, like, very gingerly, like, very slowly. She's kind of eyeballing you suspiciously the entire time. And she's just going to very slowly raise her hand up and kind of clasp yours and shake it.
"I'm sorry I caused you so much pain." -That's okay. It was over quickly. I didn't feel it too much. Just a couple of bumps and bruises. -And then she's just kind of -- she's going to go to, like, let go of the handshake. -Yeah, I'm going to -- -Okay. -Yeah, okay. Go back and re-arm myself. -Okay. Marcus should probably be back by now. -Okay. All right, folks, here's the deal. I've talked to Commander Grace, and he has not given us permission to take her out. She is too dangerous to be let out of here. We can't get her out of here. -What the fuck? -She is too dangerous to be moved.
-That was not -- That was not character. Sorry. -He does not trust us enough to take her out of here for fear that she will escape. If we take her out of here, he wants a battalion of troops standing at the ready. -At what point would the battalion meet our -- -Fairly, quickly outside of his door. -Let's go right now. -This is more of a technical question, but, like, where are we in the battalion? Are we, like, dead center of this encampment? -We have to walk through his office in order to get out of the jail. -I need the blueprints to this building. -Yes, yeah.
-Do you think she just brought this up? -Only thing's I can. -As Jason furiously looks for a map that will fit. -I'm seriously just considering just, like, grabbing her, slinging her from my shoulder and, like, walking out like I own the place and just, like, rolling diplomacy checks to, like, glare at any guards who dare question me. -Sorry, I was drawing blueprints. So, this is definitely a military office situation. There are holding cells that they're using and that they're, like -- The decision to keep this girl here as opposed to in, like, the dungeon or something like that was purely based on how dangerous she is, and they wanted direct access to her.
They couldn't put her in, like, general population with, you know, with the regular prisoners. So, this is much more of a military office thing. Like, you'll have to get through -- Like, there are a couple of ways out. You can -- Like, after you get past the six guards that are in this hallway, essentially, you can get out of the building, and then you'd be in the city. So, it's -- I don't know how you want to play this, but -- Okay, you're telling -- Okay, so, Marcus comes back and tells, "Okay, we can't move her, because Commander Grace is saying no." -I told Commander Grace she was in bad shape, she was in and out of consciousness, and that she would not be much use if she survived.
I talked him out of coming out of here, coming down here to see, but if we walk up there and she is fine, we are done. -I have one more possible plan. -And Breeze just kind of looked at Una. -Everybody leave, except for me. I take her out of the city, like it's some sort of covert operation, and then I'm the only one who hangs. -That does our group no good. -Oh, how so? -We're down you at that point. -No, next girl. -Your word to her. -I wouldn't be stealthing. I would be striding out of here with her. -You'd die. -You'll both die. -Not if they think that I'm allowed to take her out.
If we can fake them into thinking that we are allowed to be removing her. -Una, that's out of the question. -Then what do we do? -Wasn't Lieutenant Grace -- I mean, Commander Grace, about to leave to go somewhere or something? Is that a thing at one point? -No, you are waiting on ten-doll to return, though. -Damn. -Well, we can always just -- No, I'm kidding. Let's not kill a Breeze. -Don't say that. -I will put this on the table for you right now. If she wants to try and blast her way out of here, I will go up to the Commander and tell him that she faked all of us out.
She was faking the entire time. If she wants to try and make a run for it right now. -Yeah, we could just give her her best. Be like, "Hey, punch through that wall. Bye." -So, you're talking about this in front of her, obviously. She's going to visibly start tensing up. Like, this is turning south in a way that, like, "Okay, this is the night bitches die. This is, like, she may have to fight." Yeah. -Brianna, we will not stand in your way if you want to leave. -Oh, if she's going to kill people. -No, no. -Oh, so we can kill her. -That's the whole point. We don't want to -- -That's her call.
I will not. -That's -- Yeah. That's kind of against what you kind of stand for there. -If she starts fighting her way out, we're going to try and kill her. -If we stand out of the way by, that's treason, too. -Maybe there is, like, a secret way out. Is there -- -Yeah, that's actually -- -Would it be a history check or a dungeoneering check to know if there's, like, back area in the area? -We generally don't have secret doors. -True. -This is -- Well, this is a -- That's the thing. This is a -- Yeah, this is more of a military -- This isn't, like, an old crypt or something that you've -- This is a military installation.
It's meant to have, like, one way in, one way out. It's not meant to, you know, "Oh, you want out the back door? Shit. Didn't think of that." Like, it's more -- Yeah. So, you're talking about this in front of you. You're basically -- It's like, "Oh, you want to go? Go." She's, again, visibly tensing up. And, like, she -- Like, you can -- Yeah, you can kind of see the resonance of the hand glowy thing start again. -How many innocent people in the town are you willing to kill? Because there's a whole town full of people up there that really don't have anything to do with the military that you're going to go through to get out.
And you will become exactly what you have hated -- killing innocents to get your way. -If they're innocent, then they won't stand in my way as I try to leave. I don't want to hurt anyone. But I'm also not going to be bait. -You drop that power bomb of yours and blast every civilian in the area with it. You are no better than anyone in the military. We just went to the town where your friends destroyed and protected it. And you're going to tell me that they are better than we are because of that, because they have free will and can run wherever they want and destroy whatever town they feel like.
-Are you talking about Durnhollow? -Yeah. They chased people out of that town. They robbed from an old woman who was doing nothing but trying to survive. And we went back there and protected that town from the retaliation that was coming because of your friends. -They were attacked by more bigots. -They murdered a man. -It's no wonder that you sympathize with them. -We have a witness that says, "You punched somebody out of a window, and then he was found with his head crushed later." -Wait. What do you mean his head was crushed? -His head was crushed. It wasn't knocked from your blast.
He was not killed in the fire. His head was crushed by some thing. -Which is why the brother wanted to just set the whole town ablaze, just as some revenge-type thing. He was gonna kill everybody. -Your friends left because they did what was right, according to them. There was going to be retaliation, and that man that was killed, who started the whole fight, evidently, his brother was going to burn the town to the ground and didn't care who was there. But your friends weren't there to help, were they? -They were attacked. They didn't do anything to anyone.
-And that gives them the right to steal from an old lady who had nothing to do with it? -What are you talking about? -The potion shop across the street. A dragonborn and a -- Jeez, I can't even think of the name of the creatures now. -Warforged. -Warforged. Went in there, stole her healing potions, and left after threatening her. -Who told you that? -Captain Arroway told us that. -Look, he's obviously trying to curry favor with you because you're coming in and saving his ass. If he wasn't sitting there defending bigots, he tried to hang one of our friends, physically, in the bar, for no reason.
-Captain Arroway did? -No, the -- The man I blasted out a window. -Okay, so you blasted him out of a window, and then somebody went beyond that and killed him when he was helpless. -I -- I don't believe that. -Believe it or not, that is what Captain Arroway told us, and we have no reason to think he would lie about it. And when you consider the only reason we had to go to that town was because your friends were in it and destroyed it, I'm pretty sure that the slavers didn't throw a fireball and burn down the Honest Harlot. -Can you just say they were going to burn down the rest of the town anyway?
-The slavers were, as retaliation, "They want your friends. We took care of it for them." -Captain Arroway even said that he had never thought to fall in with the Overwatch, but that this blow crippled the town beyond reparation. They couldn't take care of themselves anymore. And with the N'Vaul coming in to just burn everything down and kill everybody there and then move on to find the other group, they knew that they weren't there. They knew that they were somewhere else, but they didn't care. They just wanted the whole town to burn, and that's the legacy that your friends left.
-They were slave traders. -The town was supported by slave trade and whoring. -Yes, but they could have improved. Your friends left it as a skeleton. There was nothing left to build back on. And they were more than happy to just walk away from that. -If anything, it can improve now. There's no more slave trade. -You sound just like us. -Look, I wasn't there after -- -You were there. You knocked him out of the window. -He assaulted one of my friends. He tried to hang him in full public view. The captain of the garden wouldn't step in and stop him. He asked us to stop him.
-And that's fine, but outright murder after the fact is another story. And if your friends are doing things like that and then trying to be the moral compass, well, their compass doesn't spin right. -And I'll question them when I see them, but I need to get out of this city first. So what's it gonna be? -V. -Yeah? -Have you ever seen Captain Baker? Do you know what he looks like? -Sergeant Baker. -Sergeant Baker, sorry. -I don't think I -- Jason? I don't think I have, have I? -This is -- Yeah, this is one of those things where you probably would have seen him in passing, something like that, but you haven't really been under his command.
-Yeah. -You have spent time with Commander Grace, like, a decent amount of time. -He's like a room over. It would be silly. -Yeah. -Well, I mean, it's not undoable. -He is in the building. People know he's in the building. -Yes, but the guards outside are gonna wonder how he got in the room. -Mm. -Fucking point. -Well, unless Fee wanders down the hallway and comes back looking like Commander Grace or giving it a shot. -Thank you, God. Let's do that. -Everybody has Merlin's shadow stuff, you know. -[ Laughs ] -Ooh, I could -- No. Am I allowed to, like, grab somebody and then shadow step with them?
-No. -Like Nightcrawler? -Yeah. -I don't think so. -Can I be Nightcrawler, please? Please be Nightcrawler. -Can I just be Nightcrawler, please? -Yeah, can I? -Yeah. -I like that idea, the possibility of him becoming -- -Nightcrawler. -Yes, of course. -Oh, no, sorry. -That's -- Like, look, that's gonna be an acting gig. Like, if you do that, I mean, that's gonna be -- Like, you can look like someone, but, like, it's gonna be bluff checks for you, like, acting. And I want to hear an American accent out of you, Cap. -Oh, God. -Nice. -Yeah! -I like cheeseburgers. Yeah.
I'm an American. -In America. -It doesn't have to be a great one. I just want to hear you attempt. That's all. -Oh, God. -I'll carry Fee's gear if he's gonna do that. -It's up to you. I'm not -- I'm just throwing options on the table. And I'll tell you, I'll give you a plus-two to your bluff check if you attempt an American accent. -Oh, God. -Does he get another plus-two if he sings the song? -How? -America. Fuck yeah. -You have an 11 bluff. That would give you a plus-13. -It would be almost irresponsible not to attempt it, Cap. -It's right. -Almost irresponsible.
-[ Laughs ] -Come on, Dweeb. -See, the moment that you say, "Do an American accent," it's just like, even though I'm talking to you guys, I have -- you know, I can't even think. -Accents have to be practiced. -Yeah. -That is true. -It's awful hard to pull off without knowing what you're doing. -Yeah. But also, like, I mean, talking to you, I -- 'cause, obviously, I've listened to you for such a long time. It doesn't -- it's not like, "Oh, yeah. They sound American." Yeah. -Have you ever watched a black guy making fun of white people? -There you go. -Just do that. 'Cause that's essentially -- -There's a proper way to do things, Cat.
And we're going to -- -Cat, if you're trying to do an American accent, the best trick I can tell you is pronounce your "R"s very hard. -It's not "potty." It's "par-tee." -"Par-tee." -Not in Maine. We go to Valhalla. -It's still American. -Well, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Let's not confuse him. Like, okay, the Commander Grace accent isn't even hard. It's not like I'm asking you to do a dwarven or something like that. It's actually just pretty straight-laced, you know, straightforward. So, again, I'm not asking -- -Dwarven's fine, you fuck. -I'm totally, totally not asking you to nail it.
I'm just asking you to attempt it for the lulz. -Okay. Can you give me a few lines of his voice again? -Okay, well, let's do this. Are you going back into his office to chat with him? Maybe, like, Fi's going back into, like, "Okay, I got to -- I got to -- If I'm going to attempt this suicidal thing, let me talk to him for a second to try and get that voice down." -That is beautiful. -Yes, but I haven't got a clue what to talk to him about. -I'll just go back and thank him for -- -Nice weather we're having, sir. -Have you brought back? -Yeah, have I ever thanked you that, yeah, that I was returned?
Yeah, I like that. Okay. -Yeah, okay. Yes, yep, yep. I'll go do that at some point. [ Laughs ] -At some point. -All right, so, wandering -- Okay, again, wandering into Commander Grace's office. And at this point, the guy's looking a little bit annoyed, like, "All right. Okay, we're taking some liberties here, but you can't just keep walking into my office whenever you want unless there's something important." Like, he's kind of -- Can I help you? -I salute and say I -- Sorry if this isn't quite the time. I just want to say thank you for convincing Rodswell to have me brought back.
-There's no need to thank us. There's no need to thank us. It was a way for him to prove his loyalty, and there really wasn't a more sufficient way to do that. Don't get me wrong. I'm glad you were brought back, and I think that you're a valuable member of your team who have already proven themselves more than capable of handling the task we put in front of you. -Thank you. Has he been assigned a location so that I can go and thank him personally? -It's my understanding that he's going to have a study position. He should be at the library. I don't believe he's taken up residence there yet.
My understanding is that the resurrection process takes quite a bit out of him. -Thank you very much. That's everything. -No problem. -I salute and leave again. -And he kind of hollers, "Let me know about the girl as soon as you get back from treating her wounds." -Yes, sir. -We will do. -Thank you. -Guys, what the fuck is going on, though? -This is a heavy episode. I told you! I told you you'd have decisions there, Izzy. -Like, I can hear it already, Jason. We're gonna get shit from group two about picking out drapes for her cell or something. -No. No, no, no.
This is the -- Like, this is the -- Like, you guys, it's not only career suicide, but suicide suicide, most likely. And, like, you weighing out the options, I don't have a fucking problem. You could do this for the next hour and just like, "Okay, how are we doing this?" But at a certain point, I will step in and say, "Okay, how are we doing this?" But, yeah, this -- yep. -This would be so much easier for Jedzia if her father weren't literally a room away. -Yep. -So much easier. -Okay, so just as far as the layout of the place is, it's kind of like a hallway situation.
It's actually doors down. We don't have to go through his office. We just have to go by his office. -No, no, no, no, no. His office is in the opposite direction. His office is, like, picture it in the center. You're heading out. You don't have to go by his office. -Okay, so there are two ways out of this place for the situation. -So, how many guards are we passing? Like, how many times is he gonna have to roll? -He doesn't go for everyone I hope. -No. No, no, no, no, no. This would be a situation where, like, you were -- like, it would be in that hallway with the four guards and then as you were leaving with the last two.
-Hey, so where are all of the guards posted? -So, they're spaced out in this hallway, so the first check would be more or less -- like, if you're looking like Commander Grace and you roll a bluff check, that's going to be a lower bluff check because they're probably not going to be interacting with you. They'll just take it. It's like, "Okay, that's Commander Grace," blah, blah, blah. As long as you don't roll a one and you come out, like, looking like some kind of, like, fucked-up mutant flipper baby thing, it'll be fine. -Gonna get eaten by some flipper babies now.
-Alabamian flipper babies. So, as long as that -- you're fine. But if you're interacting with someone on the way out, which there is a checkpoint and they're -- I mean, they may not interrogate you because, I mean, you'd look like Commander Grace, but it'll definitely be, like, "Where you off to, sir?" That kind of thing. 'Cause they do have orders to -- I mean, even the Commander himself has to check in. -This is -- Isn't this at night or is this during the day? -Well, let's see. Took you a day and a half to get back. So, this would be towards the evening.
-Okay, can I point out one flaw in our plane here, guys? Those gates are shut and locked at the end of the night. -So, we only have a short amount to get out. There is no way out of this town. -Okay, so, we'll just aid that on the plus, if we can slip out and then the gate shut. That's a very good point. -Yeah. -Then that means less people to come after us immediately. I don't like this, but -- -Are we just gonna bring her to the gate, kick her out and leave her, or are we walking her home? -Well, when I take you -- We're not leaving that far. I'm not going there.
-Okay, good. It was starting to sound like we were gonna walk her home, and I was like -- -No. -Well... -My point was just to point out -- -We're not just gonna release her. Like, we can't just, like, take her outside the gate, like, walk her a mile down the road and be like, "Oh, yeah, I'll see you later." Like... -You kind of understand that, yeah, that kind of -- that falls apart after -- I mean, you think about it, like, that whole ruse falls apart, like, the second that you just kind of release her outside the gate, like, it -- -It's kind of like a mouse, too.
Like, you need to release it far enough away from the house so you know it can't come back. -I have another thought, too. We have to gather the supplies and all that for the next mission. We could put her in the -- basically, the wagon that we're putting the explosives in. Get her -- I mean, if we can get her out from the gate, right, just before we leave? -No. -Put Brianna the Dangerous Scion in the same -- with the explosives. Gotcha. -Actually, that's not a bad idea. If she blows up, we all blow up. -But once they realize she's gone before we get to leave, which they probably will.
-Not necessarily. -Just killing her would be so much easier. -I feel like Oona reaches that point every time where she's like, "We've been diplomasizing for too long. Who cares if it's going well? Let's just kill everyone." -Yeah, that's kind of like just like, "Oh, my God. It's not gonna work. It's not gonna work. And let's just fight her." -Totally up to you. -We're in deep. -Okay. -I don't want to kill her, though. Like, I'm okay with fighting her, but, like, I'm not gonna kill her. Like, if it comes to the point where, like, she's about to be, like, killed, like, Oona will jump in the way of, like -- -Oona?
-Yeah. -Do you really think that if she attempts an escape or even starts a fight, that Commander Grace is going to allow you to stand up to him again? He will put you back down to where you are digging the ditches Po was looking at, and he will have her killed because there is no way to keep her safe. -Does it look like I care? -Doesn't matter. -Does it look like I care about any of what you're saying right now? -I don't know. You don't have your camera. -This is my idea. This is my idea. We get, you know, V looks like the commander. We get out of here. We get to the supply area.
We grab our stuff for this mission, this upcoming mission in the wagon. She stows away in there, and we ride out like, you know, she's not even part of us. And then, you know, if the place goes into a panic and starts locking down, we slip out before that happens. That's all we need to do is get out. -Okay. While everyone's thinking of things, V goes, "Okay, I've got a plan, I think. Okay, right. Okay, so, yes. Okay, I'm with you so far. I'm glad. I'm glad." -I came up with the rope plan. -Yep. -Gavin, Jadzia, Marcus, need you in the town, probably just outside this complex.
And then I will come in with Una, and we can grab Brie. We need to -- I have a plan to get past the guards. We -- You need to make sure that once we're out of this complex, we have somewhere to take her, whether it's out of the city or somewhere to hold down till the morning or something. Okay? -If we're going to do this -- and this is gonna sound even more awkward than it will be -- Una can't go with you when you take her out. You have to take her out by yourself because it gives us plausible deniability. None of our group will be with her when she escapes at that point, theoretically.
Nobody would see us go into her room and come out with her. It would just be you. -Well, you say it's me, but I think Commander Grace may need to have a talk, and I'm gonna rub my ear. And, yeah, I'm gonna rub my ear, go, "I think -- Is it Commander or Lieutenant?" -Commander. -Commander. -Yeah. Commander Grace would want to have a talk with the prisoner, and who better but to have his chief interrogator in tow? -So, okay, roll a bluff check. Do me a favor. Roll a bluff check just like you're in the room right now. There are no consequences in your practicing.
Let's see, like, you doing this. Let's see if someone would buy you as Commander Grace. -Akey-daky. Okay, yeah, so I look over at Gavin and go, "Gavin, you're rambling. Just spit it out." -And... -[laughs] -Uh... -There you go. -14. -14. -Not too shabby. This is, like, 90th improv, open mic night, stuff like that. Like, it's like, "Not too bad. Okay, I can see where he's going with it," that kind of thing. -My insight's a 10. I believe him. Holy -- [ Laughter ] Totally beat me out. That was amazing. -That's our Captain Clueless. -My insight's, like, a 19 or something, 20.
Just like, "Wow, fucking three, really?" -Words. -Akey-daky. -Would I get a plus two on that or not? -That's true. Yeah, you get a plus two on that. -That's not terrible. It's not great, but it's not terrible. -As long as you keep speaking in, like, that voice, you can just include that in your math, sir. -Akey-daky. -Don't say that or I'll know it. -No, no, no. -Yeah, that's -- They totally know. Grace doesn't say "Akey-daky." -He does. He does. You just never heard him say it. -So, you're attempting this, then? -Yes. -So, let's nail down the plan, 'cause there have been 50 plans thrown at this dart board.
Let's see. Okay. So, the plan is that Fi is going to morph into Commander Grace, which he's already done, and basically try to act his way out of the building. -No, whoa. Hang on. Wouldn't -- Couldn't -- Okay. The way that I see it is we all leave the building so that the rest of the party can make plans and preparations for getting her out, and then I turn into Lieutenant Grace and come back with Una. And obviously, I doubt that they'd stop us going in. And then -- -So, you're having -- So, okay. The only way that's gonna work -- -Yeah. -Because this is a military installation.
You're not just free to go as you please, but you guys do have a mission, and as such, you do -- Like, you're gonna be requisitioned, like, a wagon and the explosives and everything like that. So, you're saying that they just go ahead and get everything ready for the mission that you were going to do anyway. -Yep. -Mm-hmm. -Have the wagon ready. -Yep. -And basically, you and Una, you as Commander Grace, are going to walk in, claim the prisoner, and walk clean out. Get in the wagon and go away. -Well, my plan is to bluff the guards outside. -Well, obviously.
Okay. -See her, so -- And either try and get them to clear out or just notify that we may be carrying her out to relocate her. -Well, you as Commander Grace wouldn't have to explain yourself too detailed. It's like, "Official shit. Get out of my way." That's basically all you have to do if you're talking about town guards. 'Cause once you get to the gate, you're essentially talking about guards. That's a step below the guards that would be in the actual military installation. If you get out of the office portion of it and you're just losing the city, your odds improve significantly of getting out.
-Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. -Okay. -Yeah. Yeah, see, I was only expecting to roll a bluff check against the guards outside Bree's door and potentially the guards as we're leaving the complex that are on the way out. Yeah. -Yep. -Yep. -Okay. So, let's do it. -Cool. -Let's see how this works. -Whew. -Anybody gonna speak up before we roll? -Really quick, like, we can -- Putting her in the wagon-wise, we can, like, carry her out like we've just killed her, and we're gonna go, like, dispose of her fucking body or something. -All right. I'm going to ask one thing to the group here.
She's letting us all leave. -Well, that's -- Okay. This is what I'm asking. Like, that's -- I was under the impression that Una was staying behind, and the rest of the party was going to get shit prepared. -That is what's happening, right? -Exactly where to meet them and blah, blah, blah. Yeah. -Yeah. -No -- the town wall enough, meet us at the West Gate. -'Cause there's no way Bree's letting every one of you just walk out of the room. That's not gonna happen. -I need to go back and talk to Commander Grey's thing 'cause I need to tell him we don't need that battalion waiting outside for us.
-Well, they're not gonna be waiting outside. He said they'd be meeting at a halfway point in the city. You just will never meet them there. -Right, but that's gonna look worse if he comes back and says, "Why didn't you meet them? You were escorting her." I need to go back and tell him I've done my best. She's going to recover. We don't need to take her anywhere now. -Okay. -You can do that. This plan has changed 50 times. -Okay. One more change of plan. -If we're going out to go get supplies, we can stop on the way through, and I can just say, "Look, I've done my best.
She's going to be okay." We don't need to take her to the temple anymore. -Just cancel that. -Yeah. -Belay that. -Just cancel the belay of that order, sir. -Right, that's gonna look real suspicious. We should -- How do we do this? If they see Lieutenant Grey's put Bree in the wagon -- -Commander? -With us -- Commander, sorry. Then we're fucked. Like, they'll know it was us because we're the ones taking her out. Maybe we still pretend -- We still pretend we're gonna take her to go get health stuff, and then we can stage something so that she -- -We can say we were just following -- We can use the "just following orders" thing to our advantage.
-Yeah, that's exactly right. Like, if people see Commander Grey's getting in the same wagon with you guys, they're not gonna be pointing at you guys and be like, "What are you guys --" Shit rolls downhill. -"She's got to set up her own dad." -We can say that, like, "Oh, shit, like, Commander Grey's just telling us, and, you know --" -It's a little late for that. The plan has been to set up your dad. That's been the plan for the last hour. -"Jason, you are a magnificent son of a bitch." -"Let's just nuke her. Let's just nuke her." -That's the only way to be sure.
-It's up to you guys. -Wait, yeah, actually, Marcus, like, wait, just do that, though. Actually, though. -Okay. I'm all for it. That's why -- -Yeah, can we do that? -Suddenly, it's, like, this really simple plan. -I didn't want to say it in front of Brie is why I didn't say it, 'cause I don't want her to know it. This is what's going through my head right now. -No, that's good, because, like, Una won't know. -I have an idea how to make this work story-wise. How about we all run perception checks before we leave the room? Like, we kind of all know what we're really thinking.
-Well, no, 'cause I can say that to him right as we walk out. I've already told you guys that he was all -- you know, that he wouldn't let us bring her out. You guys don't know that he okayed it. -Yeah, that was -- like, this is a good way, 'cause, like, Una will take her out of the city. Like, Una will not fight her. But this is a good way to do that. Like, leave Una in there, and then -- -Okay, break this down. -You have free right to do what you want. Here we go. Break this down to me one more time. -God. -Lay it on me. What is the plan? For all the listeners at home, like, what's the plan?
-All right, when we leave, the three or four -- when the four of us leave, we're going to go up, and when we pass through Commander Grace's office, since he thinks that we are going to meet a battalion halfway to the temple, I am going to inform him that the prisoner wants to escape and is attempting to right now, and he needs to get that battalion over here and take and subdue her whatever way he can. -And Una will be left in the room with -- -Well, according to the plan, the original plan was to leave her down there and then have Commander Grace come down to collect the prisoner and his main interrogator so that they could -- so that those two could walk out with her. That's their plan.
-Wait, this is like some sort of perpetual motion convolution machine. Like, I'm trying to -- -It's easy. We're going to tell -- we're going to go -- We're going to inform Brie of our plan. We're going to tell her this is what we're going to do. We're going to come back. We're going to leave Una here. We're going to go out. We're going to prepare the wagon. We're going to have -- we're going to just tell her, "We're going to have somebody come down and collect you two. We're going to come out. The three of you will walk past everybody. It won't be a problem, and we will get you out." That is the plan, as in the room.
That is all Una is going to know, as well. -Okay, and as soon as you walk out, you're just going to sell them out. -I'm going to tell them, "We need to tell Commander Grace what is going on, and he has a battalion of troops ready. Let's go once we're out of here shot." -Okay. Double, triple, quadruple cross is going on. -Oh, my God. This is -- -You bastard. -Guys, I'm actually going to die, though. Like, I'm actually going to die. -All right. -Please don't die. Please just stay alive long enough. -Hold on a second. Here's what's going to happen. -Be hung for treason.
-Yeah, please stay alive long enough for the trial. Okay. Let's -- -You're fine against your throat. You're fine. -Okay. -And, Una, you're not going -- We're going to do my best to not get you killed, and I know the best way to do this is -- It's going to be messy for her, but if we set it up correctly, it should work without a problem. It still might get messy, mind you, but -- -All right. Does she know of the new plan? 'Cause he wouldn't be agreeing with that. -Una would not. -No, Fi. -No, Fi. -Fi wouldn't be. -Okay. All right. Well, let's do this. Hold on. Hold on, hold on, hold on.
Before this gets any more fucking -- Okay. Everyone in the room is decided on the plan, and that is that the -- Everyone in the group except Una is going to kind of ready things outside. Like, just get the cart ready, get all the stuff that we'd need for the next mission, and get it all ready. And then everyone's plan, everyone's understanding of the plan is that Fi is going to impersonate Commander Grace, and alongside Una, they are going to try and slip Brianna out of the building, into the wagon, and then out of the city. -Right. -So, everyone basically says, "Okay, break." And then everyone in the group except for Una walks out the door.
What happens now? -We start initiating the plan as understood. -We get halfway down the hall, so we're out of earshot of both the guards that are right there and the people in the room. And I'm going to inform them -- -Just get into fetal position. -I'm going to inform them, guys, we have no way of getting her out of here. This plan will not work. But Commander Grace, I was not completely honest with you before. I needed to try and find a way out of this that was best for the town. And Commander Grace has a battalion of troops halfway between here and the temple.
They were going to escort us to the temple if we got her out to that point for healing. We can have those troops come here, and they can subdue her again. -Okay, repeat that one more time in my good ear that you weren't telling the whole truth about the battalion meeting us. -No, the battalion -- -It didn't sound like they were going to be on our doorstep, but no, they're halfway in the town, so we could have circumvented them. -Possibly, but I don't -- -Holy man, I'm about to break your neck. -If that's how you feel, but letting her go is not in this town's best interests.
She has information about what is going on here. Now, you are turning a spy out, in effect, especially one now that has told us that there are other spies in this town. If for nothing else, we need to find out who those people are, who set her free, she has told us -- not names, but she has told us that there are people who are not sympathetic to our cause, and if you don't think that our commanders deserve to know that there are foxes in the henhouse, then I'm going to have to take a second look at your ability to command a unit. -How populated is the corridor that we're in?
Is there anybody that might see us? -If you walk down the hallway and you're kind of around the corner, then no, not really. I mean, the guards are there mainly for the cells. If you're not near the cells, then they're not looking at you. -Okay. Okay, so -- yeah, okay. Okay, so Marcus has just -- has he revealed the additional part of the plan where it's like, "Okay, we're just going to kill her"? -No, I said subdue. I think she's still valuable as a prisoner. -Okay. Okay. V is going to go to Marcus and say, "Look, this sounds like it's going to get Una potentially beaten up by Bree." -Possibly killed.
Yes, impossibly killed, and that is not fucking happening. -No, when we bring the battalion in, they are a fighting unit, as well. They will have the archers lined up. As soon as Bree steps out, they will fire on her, and then the rest of the battalion will come down the hall and take care of her. Hopefully this -- -That nuclear blast goes off? The thing that killed she outright -- -She won't be expecting it. -Who's to say that doesn't happen automatically as a release of energy? That's why I told them not to execute her back when Una stood up for her a couple days ago.
That was my concern. We don't know if her energy expenditure will happen upon point of death. You could kill everyone in the building. -And if she gets out, how many will she kill then? -Oh, that's very subjective, isn't it? -No, it's not. We've already seen her do it. We've heard reports of her doing it. She killed Phee and had no regrets for it. She can say she did, but she sure as heck didn't show it. -Self-defense. -Self-defense. -We and, most importantly, I attacked first. I think I hit her first. -No, I actually believe you missed her first. That was the problem.
-But you swung at her first. -Yeah. She has already stated she doesn't care how many she has to kill to get out of this place, and when I questioned her about killing innocents, she didn't blink. She said, "If they're innocent, they'll get out of my way." And she won't have to kill anybody if this goes through, and I have no reason to believe it won't. -She's going to lead everyone back here. -They're all gonna come anyway. -Jezie, are you buying any of this? Do you believe in leaving her walk out like this? -I don't. I think we need to take her down. -Especially in imitating your father?
What would happen to him if this goes wrong? -Oh, you didn't speak up very loudly about that when we were in there. -Of course he didn't. She was standing there. She's powerful. She could kill Una. This is a secret. We can't talk about it in front of her. But, no, we can't let her out. We have to save Una, and we have to take her down. Those are our only two goals. -I don't see a way of saving Una without getting Bree out of the city. -What if -- Wait. She has a hostage. -We are planning -- -Exactly. -We are planning to draw her out, correct? -Bree. -We're planning to draw out Bree and Una together.
-Yes. -Right now, Bree thinks that she's going to have to pretend to be a prisoner to get out. So she will have handcuffs on. Even if they're not actually holding her, she will have to be wearing them. -Yep. -There will be a moment where she cannot hurt Una. We push Una out of the way, and we fire. -Ooh, wait. V, you're quick enough. You could slap actual locks on there, the ones that were missing from the setup. Jason, I trust the mechanism looked like it was still okay? Like the locks were just blanked on. -Oh, they were just on -- No, they were gone. They were unlocked.
-Okay. So, once we put them back on, we can properly lock her back up. -She's going to be really mad about that. -Exactly. And she got out of them once before. We don't know how long it took her. -She didn't get out of them. She confirmed that someone else got her out of them. -Somebody let her out. -Oh, okay. -Which is a whole other issue that we're going to have to deal with later. -Right. -But right now, we have to save Una, and we have to take the Sion out. -It seems like that's the least fatal option -- reapply her locks and then advise the commander of the whole situation.
There's just one small problem. Did Brianna see Fi change? -Yeah. -But will they believe her? -Oh, we'll tell them she's lying. We'll be fine. Who will they trust? -I feel like we should get this taken care of, lock it down, then immediately head out on our way and leave her into this. I can't believe I'm saying this, but this seems like the best option. Clearly, I'm looking at both Marcus and Jedzia, you two do not want to go through with this, and we're all under the impression that Una should not die for this. -Una's not going to die for this. -She won't.
-Una is not at fault. -That's right. -She's been threatened. No one will blame her for this. Even if she really believes in letting Bri go, she will not go down. -Right. We care about her too much, all of us. Anywho, so I think we're under the impression that we're going to need to reapply her chains and inform the commander about the hostage situation. -But that puts Una at too much risk. -It doesn't. If she has to place her arms back around her head, well, theoretically, it puts you under that same risk, too, if you're becoming the commander long enough to show that you're still on with the original plan.
-Fee, Gavin, you two honestly believe somebody who has already threatened every one of us with her blast, that as soon as she gets outside the city and we let her go, she's not going to turn on us? -I feel like she can be convinced. Just need a bit more time. Perhaps we do need to continue to hold her. -Convinced of what? -That we're not evil. You hear the word she's speaking. She's speaking exact same hate -- like, reverse speech that most people state when they claim that we're the bad guys. The same justifications. -Exactly. And if you went over and were captured by their side, would you still be alive, or would they still be trying to convince you to join their cause?
-Guys, guys. -She's not joining our cause. -We're not them. -Focus. -It doesn't matter. -Save Una. That's all we care about right now. Focus. Don't think about whether or not Bree likes you. -Then what you do is if you're going to pull off your half of this plan, you push Bree into the hall and let the soldiers take their job. -Yes. I think he should do it. He's stronger than I am. -Push her out in the hall and slam the door shut and duck behind the wall if you're that worried about what she's going to do. -I still don't like it. -I like it a lot more than I like letting her loose to tell everybody out there and still allow whoever is turning information in this town out.
Somebody helped her. -If we just put our locks back on. If we just put our locks back on. -So you put the locks back on, and then somebody gets out? -So somebody lets her loose again? -We save Una. -We keep a tighter eye on who it is that is visiting her room, whoever's unlocking her chains. -That's not up to us. -Focus. Una's life is in danger. There's a scion with her hand up to our comrade's neck. And we have no idea, even if we did break her out. And you say it's in self-defense, but she could still kill Una. She could kill all of us the second we let her out.
We need to save her. And what happens to the scion happens. Hopefully we won't have to kill her. -So we reapply the locks and toss her out into the hallway. -Do you think she's gonna let you put the locks back on? -Yes. -I doubt it. -I doubt it as well. -She's saying it's all part of the plan. -If that plan fails, we revert back to, "Get Una out of the way and attack." Deal? -As soon as the locks click, she's gonna know something's up. She's not gonna be happy, and she's gonna strike out at us, regardless of whether she can use her full powers or not. And honestly, when that happens, it's gonna be me and Una in the room with her.
There's not gonna be enough room to have guards and you lot in there with us, as well. -The guards are in the hall. -Yes, but we will be in the prison cell. -That's why I said shove her into the hall and kick the door shut. -How much protection will that afford? -This is going to have to be perfectly executed. I could shadow-step up to the door to offer some sort of backup for you guys. She wouldn't be able to see me. I could shadow-step into the room. -Is this the plan you guys are going with? You sound confident. -I sound confident. -It's really hard. -Say, "Feet, yeah, Feet, Feet, Feet, Feet doesn't like this at all because if Brianna stays anywhere within the Overwatch, there's always the chance that she's gonna be beaten again.
And then we're just gonna go either through this all over again or Brianna's just gonna come for one of us or she's just gonna -- I mean, she didn't have her handcuffs on. If she's -- well, even if she's not relocated, she -- if she gets beaten again, she could just go, "Fuck it, I'm breaking out. I don't give a shit anymore," and just destroy as much of the city as she can on her way out. -That's valid, and I understand that, but we're soldiers, and helping her out is spitting all over that. Looking after the city is what we do. We are soldiers of Overwatch.
-Setting innocent -- I mean, setting violent, evil people free so that they can do harm outside of our city and then come back to our city and make more harm. -As opposed to destroying us from the inside. -The plan we have now is to knock her out. She won't be able to. -Yeah, but there's -- -And then we can -- -There's still people within Overwatch who are not -- who are not convinced to our cause, who can and will work with her. -We know now that there are people going in there. We're going to have to up our guard, lock her up even better, do some Hannibal shit, but it's still better than letting her free and being the reason she gets to go free.
-No matter what any of us do, there's always going to be someone who can get past us or destroy us. There's always going to be someone who can better anything we can do. -On that same token, there's always going to be someone who doesn't like us because of something we've done. We can't let popular opinion sway our every move so that people will like us. -Indeed, and by getting Brianna out of the city and protecting these people, it's not what the popular opinion is, but it's the best option for everyone. Yes, it's not the most ideal option in the situation, but it gives us the chance to increase our defense and attack, and it removes a dangerous person who is capable of destroying a lot of the city.
-It only removes her temporarily. She'll be back. -So it gives her a chance to get stronger and come back and do more damage. -Exactly, to gather the army that she's been talking about and come back with said army. -We have an army. -We have an army. -Yeah, we have an army. -Knowing our weaknesses. She's been in the building long enough to know where we are. She knows everything inside of this castle. She has people running about telling her things. -There's one other small thing you didn't quite think of. As soon as Una figures out the whole double-cross, she's not going to trust any one of us anymore, and we've completely lost our ally.
-We can talk to her. She'll understand. -We can tell her that was Khameed. -We won't be able to talk to her if this Aeon kills her. -I mean that in the nicest way, but she is a Zealot. -What's going on? Who's a Zealot? -You! -I'm a Zealot? -Una's a Zealot. -No, she trusts us. She forgave Fi for betraying her. When he killed those drowies. She'll forgive us for this if she knows that we are doing what is best for Overwatch and what is best for her. -But it's not. It's not best for Overwatch. It's not best for her. -It isn't in your opinion, but that's not everyone's opinion right now.
You're going to let a dangerous person go free just because you're afraid of her. That's cowardly. -And that's what I was afraid of. -I think we should come to a decision here. -There are a whole line of other prisoners there. Do you want to let them out too? -Yeah. -Because what you're saying is one is okay to go, but the rest aren't? -The other ones don't punch holes through people. -You don't know that. -Oh, yeah, you're right. I don't. -I'm going to make this simple. I'm not going to let her go. -I hate to say this. She needs to be restrained. She can't be...
Tactically, it's a bad decision to let her go. -And I'm not going to let you frame my father so you can feel good about yourselves. -Jedzia's malkusing the party. Woo! -She's not the only one here, so... -If nothing else, if we keep talking about how we're lowly soldiers, let's report to the commander and let him decide. -I'm good with that. -Fine. -All right. -Oh, that was an evil laugh. That was a great evil person. -Actually, that was a really smart way to get Gavin on board. Do what the commander says. -All right. -Fee's going to scowl and go, "Fuck you. You're an ass." -I love you too.
-I'm sorry, Fee. I understand this is not what you want, and I will do my best to make sure that Una is unharmed or healed at the worst. -But you're asking us to let loose somebody with that kind of power who has already taken, almost taken all of us down once, and you want to let her grow. -That is not what you do with something that is infecting a country. You cut out the wound so that the rest of the unit can heal. -If Una gets hurt, I'm holding you fucking personal for it. -As am I. -We've got a lot of people being held responsible for a lot of things here, so let's go talk to the commander.
-All right. -I can't wait for this. It's going to be amazing. -Oh. -I'm just preparing on this end. Okay. -Christ. -We're going to die. It's going to be great. -Load in Commander Grace into the... -Nable? -Oh, man. -Oh, I'm not going to do that. -Oh, man. -I was just thinking, wouldn't it be terrible if... No, I'm not going to say it. No, it happens. -No foreshadowing. -No foreshadowing. -No, not saying it. -No. -No foreshadowing until it's after. -Because it'll happen. -If you think it foreshadows it. -No. -If it doesn't happen, I'll tell you. Deal? Okay. -If it does happen, you might as well tell us then, too.
-I'll say, this is what I was going to fucking say. -Walking back into Commander Grace's office. -He's... He was annoyed before, now he's just downright... All right. -What is it? You have a mission, correct? -Sir, we have a hostage situation. -Excuse me? -The prisoner is free. Somebody has gone in there and unlocked her beforehand. She has Una. -The scion is free right now? -Yes, sir. Still in the prison cell. -He is going to start... He launches himself up from his chair and he is strutting out of the room. Like, unless someone stops him, he is going directly to where this is happening.
-Sir, stop. Please. We have an ID on. -If you go down there and she sees you immediately, she may just attack. Somebody set her free. -If you could get the troops that you sent to meet us halfway between here and the temple, can you call them to here? -And then line them up on either side of the... of her cell. -And then we'll send someone down there to bring the two of them out, thinking that they're going to get away with us. -And then have your troops attack her immediately. Attempt to subdue her. I realize she's dangerous, but she wants to get out of town and we don't see where that's a good idea.
-But she thinks we're going to help her escape. -Is Una in on this plan? -She's in on the first part, sir. She thinks that we're going to try and get her out. We didn't think it'd be a good idea to tell her that that's not part of the plan. -For multiple reasons. One, we were still in the room and the scion would have hurt us. And we're not sure Una is going to be real thrilled with us after this, but it's what's best for everyone. -Sir. -Yes? -Una had the scion's hand on her throat. If she is on this right now, we can suspect that she is only doing so because she is being threatened.
-Should I run a block attack? -I understand she had an... Okay, you can. Yeah, I just... yeah. I understand she had... -Twenty-four! -'Cause I don't want wine. -Twenty-four's good. -I'll be honest. I understand she had an affinity for the girl. I was wondering for a moment if she was the one who may have let her out. -No, not at all, sir. -Certainly not. -She doesn't have an affinity as much as she gave her word that no harm would come to her from that point on, and someone else broke that word, so she's a little perturbed. -I understand that, but the girl is a prisoner.
We can't promise all of our prisoners that they'll be treated as comfy as they would like to be. -Let's take care of the situation. I'll get the battalion ready and march them up along each side of the wall. We'll try it your way. But that's only because Una's life is at stake. -Thank you, sir. -Right. -The second the girl lets her guard down, I want you to move in for the kill. Do you understand? -Yes, sir. There's an investigation. -There's to be no other recourse. We're not trying to capture her. We're not trying to knock her out. I want her dead. -Yes, sir.
-And Commander Graves is going to leave. -Una! -Yes? -It has been a while. -Can I say something to Bree before we leave and all that shit happens? -Sure. You guys have had ample time for conversation. -Pillow fight! -The promised pillow fight. -No, I'm gonna... Oh, god. Okay. So Una's gonna drop the whole tough guy act a little bit. Just kind of soften up for the first time ever. -And just say I am truly, truly sorry about this. I want you to know that I'm not helping you escape because you're forcing me to and I'm afraid of death. -I'm helping you escape because I know it's the right thing to do.
You don't deserve what I did to you and for that I will make amends. -I appreciate that. You want to know what the funny thing is? -Yeah. -Last night was the best night's sleep I've gotten in a long time. And I had to be beaten unconscious to get it. You know that's not the first time that's happened either. -Oh good god. What have they done to you? -The hellish nightmares come with the Blasty Powers. Don't really have any control over it. I've actually had Lee... And then she kind of stops herself for a second. -I've actually had a friend of mine knock me out a few times when it's been a long time in between sleep.
-Have you tried sedatives or... -It doesn't work. -Really, really good sex? -Do you know what happens if I have sex? -Oh god. -You literally blow their mind. -No one's ever asked that question. Not an email or anything. Her powers are completely tied to emotion. That's like the Hulk having sex. -That's our Izzy. -So time's kind of passing and these two are actually kind of... I guess bonding for lack of a better term. -Una, make a perception check please. -Okay. -Okay. -Cripness. -Okay. -So I hear you're a psion. -What is love? -Let me see, I gotta... Let me roll perception for Bree too.
-Fifteen. Okay. -So in the middle of you talking, Bree's gonna go... Did you hear that? It sounded like footsteps in the hallway. -Like footsteps, footsteps? Or regular guards moving around with footsteps? -Like a lot of footsteps. -Oh fuck. Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck. -Okay. Oh god. We've... We've gotta do something. -Do... Do you think your friends would just... -Yes, yes. They will fucking double-cross me. -At least Marcus would. Okay, here's... -Wait a minute, why do you trust them then? Why are you asking me to trust them? -I trust some of them, okay? I trust Phee and I trust Gavin.
I trust them enough to make up for the lack of trust in the other two. -Look, okay. Oh god. Can I go and press my ear up against the door and listen? -Yes. -Okay. Is that another perception? -Yes, that would definitely be a perception roll. -Ten. -Uuna presses her ear against the door and she doesn't hear anything. She doesn't... She's not picking it up. -Bree's... What do you hear? -I don't hear anything. -I could have swore I heard something. -Come over here and get a listen. Come on. -Alright. And she does. -Shh! I'm just... -I love how they're listening to me with cotton in their ears.
-Just my imagination. -I would... I would explain it in a way it's like all the movement's done now. They're in position and they're just standing there waiting. -Oh. Okay. -That's how I would explain it. -How positive were you that you heard something? -Again, I could have swore I heard a lot of footsteps, but... -Okay. Do you want to try something really, really risky? -Okay. -I'm going to have to "kill you". -She's just standing there staring at you like expression is like... just like just blankly staring. -The only way that I can get you out of here safely at this point, if there's something going on, is to put blood all over your fucking throat.
-And then carry you out like I've just had to kill you with my bare hands. -And hopefully... hopefully... that... I can... -I can pretend to be distraught enough over that to carry you out of the city and bury you. -Okay, stupid question. Where are you getting the blood? -My f... I'm a fucking human full of blood. Where do you think I'm going to get the blood? -So... you're going to cut yourself and then bleed all over me. -You got a problem? I mean, do you want to just... we could just cut your throat? I mean, we could do that too, or we could sit in here and wait and see what happens.
-God, like she's visibly distraught. Like she's... like the situation's gotten to the point now where like she's super antsy. -Like it's been a long time. She's unshackled still in this room. Fine. Fine. -Okay, um... let's see. I'm going to like rip off some like chest armor and like cut myself like on like the ribs area, because like I said, that's like the easiest to hide. -Right. -Um... and just like... -And then she's... she's going to like... before you cut into yourself, she's just... not too deep, alright? -I'm not going to kill myself, don't worry.
Um... and you're just going to straight just jab the knife into her side like it's nothing. -So... um... do I need to attack myself? -No, I think you hit yourself. I mean, unless you're really nearsighted or something. Like you... I mean, like yeah, that's... -Oops, I cut my tits off. Um... -Wow. Nooooo! -I'm firing up better. -Okay, so I'm just going to like, I don't know, catch as much blood as I guess I can in my hand, and then just like rub it all over her fucking throat and make it look like, you know, someone... someone did some damage. -You do realize for this to look real, you're going to have to at least give me a minor cut on my throat?
-I think I'll trust you to do that. -And she takes the same blade you were using, um... and she very gingerly, like she's... she kind of takes... like... -You can tell she looks like she's going to take a step back as soon as she gets the knife, but you've... you cut yourself for her. -So she kind of thinks better of it and it's like, just, you know, and she kind of gingerly cuts at her own throat, like very gingerly. -So there is a cut there, so that if anyone were to look... there is a cut, but it's not very deep, so anyone looking very astutely will notice it.
-Um... and she hands the blade back to you. -Okay, I'm going to tuck it away and say, "Should I knock you out, or do you think you can play dead?" -I think I'll just play dead, thanks. -Okay, um... I'm going to like, scooper into my arm so like her head lolls back like a dead person. -She's just getting... this is humiliating. -Fucking deal with it. Um... oh my god, I can't believe I'm doing this. -Alright, outside the door. Outside the door, I guess the group is waiting for Una and Brianna to leave. -Now, Una would be waiting for the rest of the group. So, do you want to advance on the door and try and go in, or what do you want to do?
-Well, the original plan was for just Fi to go in and collect her. -Right, that's true. -So, Fi is going to have to be the one to go in and get her. -Very true. -Yep. -Oh, I love you, Fi. I love this. Thank god. -Okay, um... I'm going to go in, I'm going to make sure that I only open the door enough for me to get in and literally shut it right behind me. -And I go in and I go, "Fucking Marcus." -Do you notice that Bri looks dead as fuck? -Well, I get in and I go, "Fucking Marcus." -Okay. -There's... hang on, what the fuck just happened? What have I missed? -Feet, what's going on out there?
You need to tell me right now. -There's a... the whole fucking corridor is filled with guards. Marcus just fucking told Commander Grace. -Okay, I'm pretending that Bri's dead. Does she look dead? Are we pulling it off? -Do you want me to roll a perception check? -Please do. -Oh, hold on. -Oh god. -There we go, obsession 19. -Okay, um... that... okay, so you're looking at Bri and that's the perception roll. -Yeah. -Um, you... okay. Fi is pretty adept at stabbing at things, and he knows that the wound on her neck would not produce that much blood. -Tell us that, Fi, come on.
-Okay. -Um, yeah, I don't think that that cut would result in that much blood. -Can you help? Can you make her look like I killed her? -I look at Brianna and say, "Can I? Do you trust me enough?" -And she's... wait, wait, wait, you're gonna let him cut me more? -I promise he won't hurt you. Well, maybe hurt, but he won't damage you. -Would it be possible for me to guide Brianna as to where she needs to cut? -So, like, could I say, right, okay, you need to cut that bit and, like, touch her neck with my finger or something, and then have her make the cut? -You could, but she, like... it would be pretty damn easy for her to slip.
She's just going to... just... fine, just not too deep, okay? -Do I need to roll anything for that? -Oh my god, if we accidentally killed her... -Ugh, I think... -He's so good. -I'm debating, I'm debating, because that is Fi's "new", if you will. That is his thing. I'm going to say no, and I'm going to get a shitty email because I said no. -I love you, Jason. I love you. -Story trumps mechanics. -Yes, I'm gonna say yes. -For any, uh... you're probably gonna hate this. For any 3.5 players, I'm taking 20. I don't know if it's in mechanical or not. -So, you cut her just a little bit more, and there is a decent amount of blood that's kind of trickling out of her.
-She's just gonna recoil. -Sorry, but it's gotta be done to be convincing. -It's gonna be okay. -Fine. -Okay, um, Fi, you wanna... you have to act like this too, Fi. You have to act like you wandered in and I had just killed her. -I really would do. Um, yeah, so I turn around and open up the door and go, "Umm, yeah, we don't need to do that anymore." -And I'm gonna walk out very slowly, like, hanging my head with Bree's "body" in my arms and just start walking down the corridor, like, not saying anything, not looking at anyone, as if I'm crushed. -Um, Commander Grace is going to charge up, "What the hell happened?" -I'm gonna raise my eyes to his and just say, "I did what had to be done." And that's not a bluff.
-That's not a bluff, technically. -And then I'm gonna keep walking. -Should all of us who see this roll perception checks? -I would, yes. -Okay. -So, Marcus, Gavin, and Jadzia, please roll perception. -Of course Gavin doesn't see anything! -There's sweat just pouring off my fucking hands. It's disgusting. -I know! -It was bit by a zombie because he didn't see it coming from a mile away. -Jadzia, please don't! Oh, fuck. -All right. -Jadzia's missing anything. -Is that versus the bluff from Fie for doing that? -Now, hold on a second. Now, 19 to 20 would definitely have passed if Fie had not made an additional cut.
-Oh. -This is a pretty convincing looking job now. And that 20 will just miss. -Oh, awesome. Okay. -So this, for all intents and purposes, does look like a very dead Brianna. -Oh my god. Okay, I'm just gonna keep walking and just start, like, leave the building and just start walking, like, out of the city. -Now, there is a, there is obviously a cemetery outside of the city gates that, like, you'd have to walk a little bit to get to. Like, it's pretty fucking big. -Oh, I'll do that and I'll walk the whole way carrying her. -I think Gavin will definitely speak up and go, "Let's get the stuff together.
We'll pick up with Una, but give her a few moments." -'Cause, yeah, he, like, looks over at you, "Do you want to talk to her while she's the way she is right now?" -He put dead fear in his eyes. He's just like, "Eh, not all at once, guys." -Oh my god, I can't believe we fucking pulled that off. -So, you get outside of the city. -So, are we all going with her? -No. That was, like, that was the thing Gavin was saying. -Just, like, give her a moment. -Okay, sorry. -Give her a moment, get on the wagon, everything, you know, we'll get her prepared and then we'll swing around and pick her up.
-So, Una gets outside the city and walks to this, this cemetery, which is, again, large. This is a lot of people died, so this is a very large cemetery. And it is pretty much deserted. So, after some time, like, this is, like, after some time, Brianna's almost just gonna whisper, "Is there anybody around? Can I get out of your arms now?" -I'm just gonna, like, put her down really gently on, like, I guess, like a soft bit of grass or whatever the fuck. -And the second you go to set her down, like, she clasps, like, a hand around her throat. -I'll lay on hands her.
-Okay, so that does seal the cut. She has lost a bit of blood, but she'll, yeah, she'll be alright. So, that totally worked. -Oh, God. You can't make public appearances. You're gonna have to go underground. If anybody finds out that you're alive, I'm dead. -As stupid as this sounds, I kind of feel like I owe you. -Don't worry about it. -She's going to, kind of hesitantly for a second, she's just gonna kind of open her arms a bit, and she's actually going to reach over and hug Una. -Oh, my God. Okay, yeah, I'm totally gonna hug her back. -I'll do my best to make sure no one spots me, but you know this doesn't change anything, right?
I mean, why don't you come join us? -I can't do that. I need to stay with Gavin and Fi and protect the people I love. -There's no reason you couldn't all join us. I mean, except the ones you don't trust. I mean, it's obviously, it's not 100%. You don't believe in what you're doing there. -You can't even trust some of the... I mean, you could tell she's struggling to find the proper argument, but she wants this. She wants you to join her. -You could tell that the offer's sincere. -I'm just gonna pat her on the shoulder. Say, "You know I can't. You wouldn't leave your friends even if they were in the wrong.
I can't leave mine. -Maybe someday our paths will cross and we won't have to draw weapons, but for now this is the most I could do for you. -I really appreciate it. You could have just easily took a swing at me. -Maybe next time I will. -Oh, don't think you don't have one coming. -I'm gonna laugh. -And she's just gonna get up and dust herself off and... I need to catch up with some people and let them know that I'm okay, but I'll stick to the forest and stay out of sight. -Again, thank you. -Sure thing. See you around. -And she is going to take off in the direction of the forest.
I think that that's probably a pretty good time for us to stop for the day. [Screaming] -Holy fuck! [Screaming] -I'm actually like, my body is like having a seizure. -I can't tell if my heart stopped beating or if it's just beating too fast. -Holy fucking... -Damn, I love this game. -I know. I know. -I had to say shut up that whole time. It was like, words, dude. Brain. -Oh my god. I love all of our characters. And I love you guys so much and it sucks because we're all against each other, but... -Remember that game of betrayal they were talking about on the mailbag episode?
-Yes. -Yeah, yeah, that's like what we're playing right now. But our characters are playing it. -You're all going to be really good at that game, apparently. -As much as our characters don't like each other, I love you guys. -Yes! It makes it so hard. Oh man. -Good lord, that was... that was... that was intense. -I'm going to have to go back and listen to the episodes because I don't know why Una doesn't trust my character. -I was thinking the same thing. -I haven't done anything outside of this. -Una, save your ass. -I think it was partially the whole... the way he handled the last interaction with the slavers going, "Oh, you know, I can't trust him to shut up either," and stuff like that.
-Clearly trying to get on his side, but I imagine Una, the no-nonsense person, doesn't handle betrayal very well or anything like that. -And I can see her thinking Jadzia would betray her because of the whole father thing happening in the background. -Yeah, that's the kind of thing. It's like, Jadzia's father, so I know there's shitty stuff with that. And then like, um, Murcus, like you, like, talking to Jeb and being like, "I want to cut her tongue out too!" -I never said that. I just said I could cut her tongue out, which is true. -You kind of said that.
You kind of exactly said that. -You said you did say, "Ah, this doesn't work out, you don't have the ample opportunity to cut her tongue out." I wish I could, but I can't. If there would be any slight, that would be the one. And Una's kind of like Justin is in real life, where it's like, even a perceived slight is like, "Well, fuck you." Like, he'll blow it up in his own head, so like it kind of... -I was listening to that part this morning, and I'm still wondering how Uwe and I was able to keep herself restrained so long. There were so many times I was like, "Why didn't you kill him yet?" -She has like ice water in her veins, it was super awesome, and yeah, Gavin was the one that broke.
It was like, "Ugh!" -She was just having so much fun. Like, one of the things that I have in Una's personality is that she loves like, fucking with people. Just like, being like sassy and just like, "What, bitch? What?" So that was her having fun with it. -Say what again! -What ain't no country I ever heard of. -Between this and the teasing it on Twitter, we fucking promised one thing on Twitter and gave them something completely different. And I love this fucking game so much, man. I just... I have no right to work with the talented people. Well, it was just me and fucking Izzy going back and forth like, "I'm gonna have to fuck you up now.
I'm just letting you know." It's both of us just basically going back and forth and then... -And out of BFFs. -Kinda. Yeah. -Besties. -They're frenemies. -Yeah, kinda. I mean, technically nothing's changed. Like, they will have to... If they face each other again, they're gonna have to beat each other to death. One of them will have to die. There's a mutual respect. It's like, "Okay, you did your best to keep your promise, and you put yourself at risk to do it." And then your life is kinda in her hands now. Will she stick to her promise and keep out of sight?
-Doesn't matter. She's already grabbed her necklace. She clutched it in her neck, so... -I just see... It's so cool because all of our characters have a reason they would defect. -Yes. -It's just picking... It's like picking a lock. You just have to move it just right. -Yep. -And we can totally just switch sides. -Yes. -But if it doesn't go just right... Well, maybe not Marcus. -Maybe not Marcus. -But if it doesn't go just right, we're all gonna die. -That's not necessarily true. Marcus may still give it up if he found out Rod Swell... You know, if it were more revealed that Rod Swell was actually a major situation and had his parents die, he might be a bit pissed about that.
-Yeah, but that's not what Overwatch is. That's not what our town is about. That's not what our leader is about. And remember, our leader would just assume to kill Rod Swell as let him breathe. So if Carter finds out and he loses his temper, then that's not going to be a situation I have to worry about. -Do you realize that Carter had no idea that you captured the leader of the White Ravens and then lost her in the... Not lost, but I mean like... -Killed her? -Here's the deal. Only two people out of our group know she's alive. -Yeah, very true. -If he and Una say nothing, as far as we are concerned, she is dead.
-True. -Which probably could save me from Una beating the snot out of me because she's not gonna know. She can't say what we let her go and not... -Yeah, she's still in the field for sure. -...changing the plan without letting us know that she's gone. -This was such a beautiful session and... -It's gonna be hard to edit. -Yeah, I don't give a fuck, dude. Are you kidding me? I will dig for this gold. Are you kidding? -I love you, man. Shit. -I have no right to work with the talented people that I get to work with for free. It's not fucking fair. -You're setting the situation up.
We're just filling in the blanks, so... -Give yourself a bit of credit there, too. -Yeah, true that. -All the credit. -No, no, no, definitely not all the credit. You guys fucking knocked it out of the park. There are so many times in this session where a dice roll or something like that changed. It's this awful, like this awesome butterfly effect that every time a decision was made, you guys started to do something, or a dice roll was made, or someone made a decision, it changed and changed and changed. Well, what we started out with has no resemblance to what we ended up with.
And it just... damn it. I just love that. It had nothing to do with what I had planned for today, and it's just like, "Okay, let's keep going with it. Let's see where this goes." -And I just realized something. For a session where we didn't fight anyone. -Yep. It's a talkie. -We did it! Talkie episode. -And a fucking good one, too. Like a good talkie. -So, also, the brilliant thing about this situation currently is Una is the one with the highest insight. So, if he has to make a bluff check against the group, he doesn't have the bluff Una. -Valid? Is that true?
-Yeah. It's so beautiful. -I really enjoyed the back and forth between Gavin and Marcus. -That was good, too, man. -It really showed the perfect balance between a field commander and somebody who's outside the field looking at the bigger situation. -Mm-hmm. -And it's not played well played, Merlin. Well done. -Yeah, well, it's intelligence versus wisdom. -Exactly. -The stats went really well. You had a very wise argument and Gavin had a very much intellectual. But no, I loved that. That was really good. -That whole exchange with you going back and forth with Marcus was fantastic.
-Bree, you did... I was waiting for you to step in as Jadzia and you... Fantastic job. I gotta say. -Yes! -Oh my god. -I even enjoyed the back and forth between me and Bree. -You're arguing about who's... -Yeah, that's what's... -...better, who's... What's so wrong about what we're doing compared to what your friends are doing. Look what they've done. -Oh, they're doing... -So much good dialogue, guys. -See, this Bree thing gets confusing. -I know. You're gonna have to change your name. I'm sorry. -Yeah. -I know Seth's on her Facebook. -That's true. -The real person.
The real person has to change your name for Bree. -And then there's also Breanna. -The five of us, so... -The character has to deal with the rest of the group one, so it's only fair that our person changed her name. That makes sense. -It's just numbers. It just makes sense. -Oh, wait till she meets back up with group one. Holy shit. -I know this probably won't happen because she has the necklace, but I kind of want Malkus to find out that she's dead before he finds out she's alive again. -That would be really cool. -No one did any perception check. She's not even wearing the necklace.
-Oh. -No. Well, we just assumed... Well, true. We wouldn't have even known what it was, so it didn't matter. -Exactly. -Right, but I mean, like, there was... Nah, that was lost when she was initially captured. -Yes! Please do the same thing I said. -So barely. -I just wanted to pause talking. -She was truly helpless. Like, that was a situation where there was no... -Poor baby. -Yeah, as soon as her hands got free, that would have been... Yeah. And then... See, the thing is, I don't even know if she would have done that, because it's like, okay, I'm basically inviting them into an ambush.
Like, what are they going to do? I don't know if she would have done that as a character anyway. That this... I'm one person. Am I really going to call my friends into... -Because she knows as soon as she blows that whistle. -Right. It's over. They're going to stop building an army and they're going to... Yeah, so... -Would she not have likely have been like, "My hands are free, call my workers," and then like, afterwards gone, "Shit. Actually... Yeah, I shouldn't have done that." -I don't know. I mean, I always present her as a character who kind of thinks emotionally, but that's pretty...
That's just selfish more than anything, I think. Like, she's definitely... She would go through more pain and suffering before she'd put someone else through it. She doesn't want to hurt anybody. It's just... She happens to be a character who has the immense talent for hurting things. -I just picture her grabbing the necklace, sending the message to Malchus that she's in trouble. Malchus saying, "Okay, we have to go rescue her," and then instead of stopping to... Stopping the collection of the army, they fight amongst themselves about whether they should continue or go on.
-Like what we did? Yeah. -Yeah, you guys make fun of... It's a little tougher when you're on the spot and you got a big decision to make, isn't it? -Yeah. -Yeah, and then Ironhide and Malchus would have to fight it out right then and there. I think that would be the final countdown for those two. -I feel like I was fighting between Jadzia and Brianna, like, in real life more than I was fighting against my own team. 'Cause Brianna was like, "Let's get the Sion out of the city right now, 'cause Malchus is gonna come." And then Jadzia is a perfect soldier.
She's trying to be. -So, Fi was entirely ready to pull his sword on Marcus in the corridor. -Which surprised me, because she killed you! -I was surprised by that too, honestly. A little bit. -She killed you once, Brianna went for you again! -See, I mean... -I did like you attacked first, but she still killed you! -I think it's like the experience of dying, I'm not talking for free at all, but it seemed to me, like from my perspective, it seemed like he was doing that, 'cause the experience of dying was kind of like grounding. Not like, it wasn't like, "Fuck, if somebody chopped off your arm, you'd be like, 'Fuck you, I'm gonna fucking kill you, I'm gonna rip you to shreds!' Where if someone kills you, it's like a totally different emotional thing." -And his mom lives in the town, so I can see, get the dude chick that killed me as far away from my mom, as I could possibly get her.
-Yeah, so that was most of Fi's "I wanna get her out of the city so that she can't destroy the city or hurt anyone who I love" example, my mother. -What's interesting, and I don't know if you're playing this purposefully this way, but Fi pre-resurrection is a slightly different character than Fi post-resurrection. -In what way? -He's softer. He's more gentle, like he's, pre-resurrection you would murder children, and I know you only had like four sessions or so before you died, three, four sessions, but there is definitely a coldness to that character, whereas this time you were much more sympathetic, you put yourself in the place of an enemy, I don't know, there's something about that, I don't know if that's on purpose or if that's...
-I don't think that it was entirely on purpose, I mean Fi has had some change in views within him, but yeah, I mean, for example, with the children, the very fact that it was Drow was just dangling candy in front of a child, I mean, you know, it's just like, yes, fuck it, let's blow them up, but had that been dwarves, he would have gone back to the party and gone, "There's children in there, they're children." -That's interesting. -Damn. -And we got a fucking mailbag tonight! -Oh god, trying to shut the fuck up about this. -Yeah, you gotta give this away.
-We can tease the hell out of it. -I've had lots of training on that, yeah, Jennifer's still working on the episodes. -Oh, perfect. Oh my god. -You're gonna get a question like, "So what are you guys gonna do with Brianna?" And you can be like, "Well, we're gonna go live." -Stay tuned! -And it'll be true. -Take care. -I'm going to slit her throat. -Exactly. Please say that in the episode. Don't giggle or anything, just say that. -I'll try, I really will. -Don't say it happens, just say it. -Will you hear this off-handed comment? Just go like, "Oh, I'm just gonna run into her again and I've changed my mind, I'm just gonna slit her throat." And just let it die like that.
-And let everybody go, "What?" -No, 'cause when they hear it, they're gonna expect that. Never mind, anyway. -Definitely think the interesting part is I can't wait for the mailbag after this, or at least the first couple of emails that come in, Jason. But me not saying what exactly the commander said. -Oh yeah. -That was what the fuck was about. -It's so great. There's... You guys were such a unit, and now in this one episode I'm watching it all fracture, and it's so... Double, triple, quadruple crosses, no one can be trusted, and then you're finding out there's spies within the city and you don't know who among them can be trusted.
-Oh, the intrigue. It's delicious. -Group 1.2. -It's so great. -Every fucking group has problems. Every group has problems. And that's... I mean, I love that you guys work together, and I love that. Don't get me wrong, but it's... It's nice that now that you would work together in spite of all the other shit that's happening, like when it comes down to it, like, "Alright, I'm gonna have your back." But I don't fucking like you all that much right now. -We've dealt with that once already, and V and Una seem closer than they've ever been. -Yeah. -Our whole group's definitely gonna have to have some sort of sit-down next episode.
-Gavin's gonna have to requisition some gold and take his drinking again, I guess. -No, we have to do some trust exercises. -Trust falls. -Yeah, do a trust fall. -Get in the dirt. -Don't worry, I'll catch you. -Oops. -Oh my god. -Well, Gavin's just having his face in the dirt, so... -Wait, okay, I just got a message from Justin saying, "SPOILER, Group 1 gonna fuck you up." *laughter* -Did anybody else get that? -Nope. -You're special. -He just sent one to Izzy. -I'm just letting you know. -Nope. -Coming for you. -Is he a Twitter or Facebook? -Uh, Skype. -Skype! -Oh wow.
-I'm not a fan of Skype at all. -Do you wanna do something fun and bring Justin to this call and just tease him? -Yes. -We just gotta keep quiet about what happened. -Oh my god. -I killed him. -Oh god, just calm down. -I'm in that nervous laughter thing where it's like *nervous laughter* -I imagine everybody else was trembling like crazy after, you know. -Well, except for Scott, he's got nerves of steel. -The fact that you said that I sounded cool. -Oh, you sounded collected as fuck. -Collected, yeah. -Yeah. -That is not how I expected this to sound at all. -Because I am shaking.
-Like ridiculously. -I said something like that with my hostage situation thing when I said that. -It sounded pretty, uh, yeah I don't know. -How'd the message go? -You with Commander Grace, that was like really like ice in the veins. -Like really in control. -That was the, when you needed to drop the stammering act and all that, it's like, no, this is how shit, shit's going down. -Yeah. -Like it was so good. -You came right in, you were like, it's a hostage situation. I was like, that's fucking hot. *laughter* -That was like 24 shit right there. -I don't know who you are.
-Fucking, that Liam Neeson speech going? -Yeah. -I will find you. -Did you guys see the vine I replied to that with? -No. -I don't know who you are. -Yeah. -Okay. I love Bo Burnham.
