But we're trying to tell a little story. So just follow us on this one and I think you're going to like it. With all that being said, please enjoy today's episode and let us know what you think. Alright. Let's go around the table and do that thing where we introduce ourselves.
I'm Jason, I'm the Dungeon Master. Going around the table, starting with Izzy. Hey, I'm Izzy and I play Una, the half-elf paladin. And Kat. Hey, I'm Kat Charlie and I play Fi, the changeling thief. And Bri. Hi there, I'm Brianna and I'm going to play in Judzia Grace, the human warlock. And that's it. Which is weird. Oh god. Okay. I suppose a recap is in order for those of you who are at home. So, in the last episode... Shit went down. Yeah. Things got really, really serious and someone had the worst first day at any job ever. Una was captured by the elves and was forced to fight one-on-one with Brianna.
And was very nearly murdered. She did manage to live though through the grace of Kord himself, maybe. I don't know. But yes, she managed to live and she was given the opportunity to try and talk her friends out of storming into a death trap. The elves were absolutely ready for them to come back and to come back with reinforcements. And it really couldn't have been more of a disadvantage... Wow, let's try that word one more time. A disadvantageous position for the army of 500 boys and girls walking in trying to blow up that warforged. Una met up with the group, tried to talk them out of it.
And slowly but surely we watched the group disintegrate in front of our eyes. Fi, Jatzia, and Una defected from the party and essentially the Overwatch and they ran back to the elves and tried to convince them not to attack. In the meantime, Marcus, Gavin, and Erolove, who had just joined the party, marched into the clearing and were going to launch a full scale attack. Gavin instead, at the last minute, ignited the explosives that he was carrying and ran and leapt onto the warforged itself, sacrificing his own life to take it out. Just before he exploded, he ordered the rest of the team to retreat and they left the clearing while the explosion was going off and they could get away in some of the confusion.
Again, there was a fire in the Evergreen and the elves were forced to rally around and put this out. How about we pick up a little while after this fire is put out and after the... Is there anything you guys would like to say to each other before we begin formally today? Because this is a big somber event I imagine. Everyone's pretty distraught. They failed in their mission to protect this prototype, which is going to disappoint one very large minotaur. So how long has it been... Let's say about an hour. Okay, so the Overwatch path of Group 3 have gone back?
They retreated immediately. In the confusion of the explosion, they got a good distance away from this clearing. Okay, fair enough. Now that doesn't mean that they're not going to be facing their own trials and tribulations, but let's leave that to them. Yeah, I wanted to figure out if they were in the immediate area or if we were going to have to... Yeah, that would be a fight. Just a little bit. Okay, what do we do? Are we just huddled on the ground crying softly? Are we helping the elves put out the fires? By now the fire would be pretty much put out. Like, this is... yeah, that was a pretty nasty explosion.
There's shrapnel everywhere. It has littered their beautiful forest. Nature's having a real shitty month, because not only is the Overwatch running a clear-cutting operation, there was a warforged that cut a path through their forest and now bits of it are everywhere. Not to mention two explosions in the span of 48 hours. So yeah, somewhere an Indian is crying. Okay, okay. I guess Una will pull V and Jadzia aside from wherever they are, whatever they're doing. And just clearly pretty fucked up, just watch someone explode. Not exactly Mrs. Mental Stability right now.
But she's going to say, "Look, that should have been me. That being said, for the first time, we can fight for whoever we want to. We don't have to fight for cowards." I don't think that you were the one who should have died today. I don't think anyone should have died today. Gavin... I know Gavin was smarter than he was... I know that Gavin was smarter than he acted today. He came across as extremely stressed about the whole situation. I don't think he's ever had as much pressure on him as he had. And I don't think he took it. He didn't take it well. Which obviously explains the actions.
But I know he would have been able to have improved the situation had he had a calm head. We now need to decide what we're going to do as opposed to taking orders from the people we have been. Let's not kid ourselves. We killed Gavin. By leaving, by betraying him, we killed him. No. The Overwatch killed Gavin. He wasn't ready for the amount of stress and pressure that was put on him. No offense, Jadzia, but your father's decision to send him to complete this mission wasn't the smartest. I'm doubting my father's decisions more and more lately. I'm doubting a lot of things regarding the Overwatch at the moment.
So if we go back, we'll be killed? Yes. Without a doubt. We will be killed if we go back. Where do you guys want to go? What do you want to do? Assuming the elves let us leave. Assuming that I have no ties to anything. I can't go back to the Overwatch even if I would want to. So we have anywhere in the world where we can go now. Who would like to roll a perception check for me, please? I can do that. Not me. Perception. Ow. Natural one. Looks like something bad happened around here. I'm getting a vibe, guys. Anyone else getting a vibe? Getting a splodey vibe. It's um...
Splode, maybe? It smells like ribs in the air. Does anyone else smell ribs? Aww. I see nothing. Um... Yeah, that's pretty bad. Looking around you see that the elves look tentative, looking at you like, "Okay, you... what the fuck? What are we going to do with you?" And you don't hear any of what's being said, but Brie and Liara are talking at each other loudly. And then after a time Liara just kind of shrugs it off, like, "Okay, we'll pick this up later." She kind of makes that hand motion and she walks over to you three. I think we need to talk. Fair enough.
Why don't you follow me into this building over here? And she motions for Brie to follow her. And if you guys are going to follow her then we'll just go there if you choose not to. Totally up to you. Una's going to glance at Fi and Jadzia like, "Do you guys want to follow?" Yeah, Fi's going to follow. Yeah, sure, why not? So going into this building where you guys have a bit of privacy, she's going to motion for everyone to sit down. Liara's going to actually kind of stand and she's pacing back and forth a bit. Okay, I think we've all learned some honesty here.
Firstly, I'm sorry about your friend. I understand what it's like to lose someone, but they just assaulted what was property of a group we're working with. And that's going to be trouble for us down the line. What are we going to do with you, you three? What is the plan? We don't know, but we definitely can't be going back to Overwatch. We'll be killed straight away. There's nothing for us there anymore. Let's do this. I'm going to ask some questions. And you're going to give me some honest answers. And in turn you can do the same for us. Does that sound fair?
Yep. Yeah. Brie is kind of sitting there, not pouty, I don't want to say pouty. But just kind of arms folded, just kind of looking, mostly at Una. Angsty. Yeah, a little angsty, maybe. That whole failed murder attempt is awkward now. So Liara speaks up. What are your intentions right now? What was the breaking point? Why did you all of a sudden now defect? Tzitzia is going to look up and say, "I realized that the army was filled with hypocrites." I guess you're talking about the tiefling. I was taught that demons couldn't have souls. You can't pick and choose at that point.
Is that right that that's supposed to be Malkus' sister? That's what we were told. And is that the only non-human in the Overwatch right now? It was. They just lost two. So they didn't know about your conditions? They would have. They would have definitely. I mean, can you be sure, though? I mean, if they're recruiting tieflings, maybe the war effort has them a bit lax in their recruitment policies. That could definitely be the case. It sounded like there might be more. So the straw was you had to work with other non-humans? No. No, the straw was that I was told one thing for a very long portion of my life, and then all at once that meant nothing.
The Overwatch, it would appear, have been lying to us, its citizens, for quite some time if they are going back on some of their core principles. Principles that me and Una, had we discovered ourselves sooner, would have been terrified about even mentioning to anyone. The only reasons that I know that someone would lie to anyone would either be to protect them or to acquire something that you don't deserve or that isn't yours. And I can only see that the Overwatch is after the second one. Alright, that's fair enough. I feel like you answered that honestly.
Well, fair's fair. You can ask us any question. What the fuck do we want to ask them, guys? Okay guys, huddle up. We're trying to put them on the spot. Jason put them on the spot all the fucking time, so let's turn it on. That's what I'm giving you the opportunity to do. Okay, okay, thank guys. What's an uncomfortable question? Fuck? Do you guys maybe want to get to dinner later? Fie's gonna look at Breanna and say, "So your powers, how do you control them? Do you train to improve yourself? Or have you always been as powerful as you are?" She almost doesn't look like she wants to get drug into this.
Leora almost fucking brought her into the building by her ear, just like, "Let's go. Come on, come on, come on." And she unfolds her arms and just takes a deep breath. I... it's kind of focus. I think about something and it's either something that makes me angry or... I don't know. It's just something I can do. It seems to get stronger the older I get. The more I use it, the better at it I get. But sometimes it's harder to turn off, if that makes sense? Yeah. Oona's gonna nod like, "Yep, seen that." Bre's just gonna kind of narrow her eyes at Oona just a little bit.
Like the only two people in the room. Like the worst two people to talk to about this. "Yeah, I killed you. Almost killed you." And Leora's gonna try and get back things back on track. Like she's just gonna try and steer it back. Alright, new question. How can we trust you at this point? I'm getting deja vu here. We've had this conversation before, but I mean the fact that you're... I mean you committed high treason, that helps. But how do we know that you won't try to get back in their good graces? They don't have good graces. Yeah, they have... Hey! Hahaha!
You're not there anymore. Puns! They have a zero tolerance policy for any form of crime, I should know. But yeah, if we go back for what we've done, we will certainly be killed. The alternative is to get into the army and well, we're already there. Alright, ask us anything. Judzia's gonna sit up and look at Brianna again and say, "Could you tell me about the Tiefling you know? It's Malkus." What do you want to know about him? Judzia's gonna pause for a little bit and then say, "How did he earn your trust? Seems like a hard thing to do." I used to live on the outskirts of Overdale.
It was a small logging camp. My dad did the best he could to keep me safe and sheltered. I liked to explore and I got lost in the woods one day and ended up in the swamp. Malkus and his group saved my life and that wasn't the last time they would do so. When he disappeared, I hated him for a long time. They're doing everything in their power to set right. And she kind of trails off. She doesn't want to blame Malkus for the current state of things, but it's really hard not to. They're doing their best to make things better and he's a good person at heart.
Then Brianna's gonna transition. "Okay, I got a question." And she looks dead at Una. "Why do you suck at dying so much?" Liora's gonna cut her look like, "God damn it. Just trying to keep things civil." She's gonna look at Brianna and just grin. Just like a shit-eating grin. Years and years of practice, darling. "Technically you get to ask them a question now." Yes, okay. Una's smile fades right after that. She says, "My turn. Why are you so angry?" "I'm responsible for a lot. I'm young and I'm in charge of a lot of people who are older and more experienced than me.
When I put my word on the line and then someone betrays me instantly, you can see where that would cause me to get angry." "I'm not talking about me. I'm talking about in general. Why are you such an angry person? What happened?" I don't... Why is anyone anything? It's just life. Right now, I'm having trouble envisioning a reality where we're not fighting. Do you know how many years I've lived in a cave? I've watched more of my friends die at the hands of the Overwatch and the Warforged and I just want it to be over. And even after all of this is over, one way or the other, I still can't get something as peaceful as a night's sleep.
Unless of course one of you wants to beat the living shit out of me. And it's going to raise her hand like really... Not like raise it, but like put it up like a little bit. She's going to narrow her eyes like real hard. It's like, fuck you. Technically now they get to ask you a question. Liara is going to kind of step forward just a little bit, like as she sees things get a little more heated between you two. How do you guys feel about trust building exercises? I don't mind. As long as it involves hitting something, I'm down. I don't think that'll be a problem.
We have a unique opportunity here. I'm not going to lie. We could use your help. We have some manpower, but most of our abilities are in stealth and scouting. Now some info we've gotten from our people in the Overwatch tells us that we have a little bit of time before they mobilize. Did you know that they plan on sacking Winterhaven? Did we know that? That would be something you were not privy to. That was totally none of your business. That was need to know and you did not need to know. Alright, then I will shake my head. Judge the elo. Yeah. They plan on demolishing that city if they can.
That's something that group we mentioned is working on right now. They're building a force to combat that. What we need to do is prepare individually. These elves are ready to stand by them. We need to make sure that when the time comes, each and every one of us are as battle ready as possible. So I'm going to give you a choice. Myself and Brianna are going to be heading out today. Now, I need to make sure that when the time comes, you're not going to turn on us. Which I don't think you're going to at this point. But I also need to know what you can do next to us.
So, I've received word that there's a convoy heading through the area later this evening. Now, there are going to be some weapons and armor on board and it would be nice if we can capture that. Now, there's also something a bit more dangerous we could try. And we can send a grouping of people to try and deal with the convoy. That shouldn't be that difficult. The other thing I'm going to propose will be. Have you ever heard of Kaelthorn? History check? History check. Jadzia, that's you? Yes, I think. Nine. Oh yeah. Twelve. Actually, everyone roll a history check for me, please.
Fourteen. Sixteen. Okay. Black dragons are all but extinct in Therian. Unlike their larger cousins. Black dragons are actually more like giant lizards with wings. Which is what a dragon is, essentially, but I'm talking these lower to the ground. They're a lot more wily, more cunning. They'll hide. They'll try and attack with stealth and they'll lurk, things like that. Whereas most dragons just fly majestically above you because they don't give a fuck. What are you going to do to them? Kaelthorn is quite possibly the last remaining black dragon. Something that used to be very popular to do was when young adventurers were out to prove their worth and how tough they were, they would go out and find a black dragon, fight it and kill it.
Bring the head back to their hometown and parade it around like, "Look how tough I am." Kaelthorn is the exception to that rule because once people started finding out that, "Oh wow, that may be the last one. I'm going to be the guy who slays the last black dragon." Everyone who has ever attempted it has either died horribly or come back viciously mutilated. Those are the people who are lucky enough to get away from this thing. Now, there is a legend that is associated with Kaelthorn that is tied to a set of legendary weapons. There are three weapons that are said to be blessed by Kord himself.
One of which is, at least on this show, a fairly famous axe wielded by a very large minotaur. Who would like to roll a history check? Actually, you know what? Everyone roll a history check on these weapons because that is a separate deal. Three. Ten. Seven. I just got two criticals in a row. Damn it, I'm a fucking... Can I roll religion instead of... Well, you already chose to... You guys fail at school. You guys did not study very hard in school. I come from this. I'm gonna study Gideon things and not die in school. School of the streets. School of hard knocks.
Okay, I got you. Well, Jadzia would know of at least the basic legend. These three weapons are said to be blessed by Kord. Each one of them are kind of imbued with a different aspect of him. The axe is the lightning strikes and all the viciousness that comes with that. The sword is the wind of Kord. The speed and grace. So that's all... The axe, everyone knows about the axe. I don't need to tell you about Stormrender. The sword is supposedly the lightest sword in all of Theria. The wielder gets incredible speed while flicking this thing back and forth. It cuts deeper, it plunges into its enemies deeper.
It's all imbued with speed and striking ferocity. The hammer, simply called Kord's fury, is said to have the strength to reduce whatever it strikes into rubble. Into ash. Just destroys. It's also accompanied with these wicked thunderclaps when it hits something. It's almost as if the hammer itself changes weight in mid-strike. Like it weighs a ton all of a sudden. It's just meant to reduce things. Like break bones, destroy... Knock down stone doors with it if you strike it hard enough. I mean, this is a nasty hammer. All three of these weapons are insanely powerful.
All three of these weapons were scattered at one point. Kael'thorin is said to be guarding a clutch of treasure. Mostly from dead adventurers who have attempted to kill him. Kord's fury is one of those things. Guys, I want so badly I'm shaking. Now, that isn't saying that that's the only thing you're going to find. There's a stockpile of items there. I was going to do some snark and be like, "What about Kord's rod, Jason?" I did not forget about you guys, trust me. You have a risk/reward scenario here. Going after Kael'thorin is infinitely more dangerous than going after that caravan, I'm not going to lie.
But the payoff and reward for both XP and for the items you're going to find is crazy better. Either way, you're going to be fighting next to Liara and Brianna. Hey guys, so Jadzia and I are both followers of Kord. Infinitely more courageous to kill the dragon, we should kill the dragon. Do we need to kill the dragon? We're going to just steal it? Just get in there and grab his shit and run. We're still bow bagging for this shit. Fuck yeah! Liara's going to speak up. I'm not going to lie, if we were to attempt this, a lot of people would call it suicide. Brianna's going to stand up, "Yeah, me!
I would call it suicide!" Liara's going to level her gaze and say, "We can do this." Things are getting a little desperate around here, I'm not going to lie. I would say getting another legendary weapon within our ranks would be insanely helpful. The titan that was just blown up. That technically belongs to a very large and, when he gets back, a very angry minotaur. Right now he possesses Stormrender. So we should get some other sort of weapon so that when he comes back, he doesn't just split us all through with the axe. Liara's just kind of like, "I don't think he would do that." And you can tell she's thinking about it.
It's like, "I don't think he would do that." There's every possibility there. Brianna's going to speak up, "He loved that titan." Bitch. She's just being snarky. Una's going to elbow me and Jadzia a little bit and be like, "Dragon? Dragon, guys." Dragon sounds good to me. Has Jadzia revealed to the party that she speaks Draconic? I don't think she'd be hiding it for any reason, so yes. Yeah, but okay. Yeah, so Jadzia, do I remember correctly that you speak Draconic? I do. Do you think that will come in handy when going off against a dragon? It might if we plan to be diplomatic or try to distract it somehow.
I guess we could soon get there. Sounds good. Alright. Let's go kill the last living dragon. Which somehow I feel worse about than the children. Black dragon, last living black dragon. There's plenty of dragons in Theria. There's a real big white one in the east. I've heard. We're killing the black dragon, but we're buddying up to the white dragon. That's up to you guys. All I'm saying is I'm sure that Yen would absolutely love to ride a black dragon into the Overwatch. That's all I'm saying. Ooh, yeah, we could try to be friends. That sounds vaguely like Justin Massie talking right now.
I'm just going to let you know vaguely, like just right there. Yeah, speaking of Justin, this would be the Justin of Dragons. Like they're smaller, yes, but don't underestimate him because of his size. Vicious to a T and will just eviscerate all of you. Yeah, just letting you know. Can we heal up and take a rest before we go? I would imagine that that is... Yeah, Liar was going to suggest that anyway. It's going to be tough because if we want to do anything with diplomacy, we need Una. She's the best diplomat we have, but she does not speak dragon. Nope. It's like the only language she doesn't speak in this entire world.
I know, she knows like five languages. Would it work if I were like saying shit and then like Jadzia would like translate it? Absolutely, the translator, yeah. You guys know... I guess I can't adjust my HP. Couldn't that work with the helping with strength? Like if I roll over a 10, she gets a plus one for her diplomacy or something? You guys remember the restrictions with talking to a dragon, right? Oh yeah, my head will explode. Well, yeah, I mean you can... I mean the humans or anyone speaking Draconic, that's more for communicating with Dragonborn in their language.
Talking to a dragon itself is... Never mind then. Yeah. Just kill it. Let's just end that species. That is... Yeah, that is a very... That's a big barrier to entry. That's why a lot of dragons just get hunted. And the ones that aren't the biggest and strongest, that's like the black dragons. They're a little more doable. Like no one's out hunting white dragons, I assure you. They're as big as houses. They're like a big house too, not like a regular size house. They're huge. And the elder ones that are flying around in the Northlands are just ridiculous. So, yeah.
So, Brianna's going to give you each two healing potions. In an effort for you not to die. We're getting ready to ride out. Are you guys prepared? You ready for this? As ready as we'll ever be. Here's the thing. They did have a lot of horses. Oh no. And now they don't so much have a lot of horses. So, Brianna and Liara are both going to ride up on their horses. And they have one extra. Which means that two of you are going to have to ride with them. Dibs on Bri. I was going to say, Una should ride on the extra horse because I'd say Bri would be too tempted to push off the back.
I am wearing like plate mail and shit. I'm pretty heavy. Yeah, whereas I'm wearing leather. Same. Yeah, so. Leather. Yeah, so both of you guys are pretty light. Alright. On your way to the swamp. Riding through the forest. Gradually, once you get to the edge of the forest, it gets more marshy and the ground gets softer. And eventually you get to Yemgar Swamp, which is this dark, depressing area. It always appears to be shaded. Like large, kind of willowy trees covering, kind of forms this roof over the entire area. Very wet, very nasty. There are tons of things in this swamp that want you dead.
Including the ground itself in areas. So be aware of that. After you guys get to the swamp area itself, horses are pretty much useless. So you're going to dismount and Bri and Lior are going to tie up these horses near a tree here. And Lior is going to say, "Listen, have any of you ever been to the swamp?" Have any of us been to the swamp? No. She wouldn't have. This is a place, unless it's a destination, like there's something here you want, you don't go there. No one lives here. Well, one person lives here. Let's go visit. That lady's suspect at best. So yeah, okay, here's what we're going to be doing.
On your way through the swamp, Bri's going to kind of strike up a conversation. She appears to be a little nervous about coming to this area. Oh shit. Alright. So, how long were you guys in the military? We've been there for about three years. About one year. I'd say about five. Okay, okay. You can tell she's trying to calm herself down with just casual conversation because you guys are kind of squishing your way through this really soft grassland. Like everything's just coated. Like it all sounds like you're walking on wet sponges. And every once in a while you've got to kind of pull your boot out of some nasty, muddy terrain.
Do I have to roll a check to see that she's nervous? Or is that pretty evident? It's really evident. Even if you roll a one, it's like, wow, you are not enjoying this. Okay. I'm going to glance her out of the corner of my eye and be like, "You alright?" Huh? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm fine. I'm fine. It's fine. I'll be fine. Just really? You don't seem alright. Nice, cool headed right now, Bri. She kind of narrows her eyes. I said I'm fine. It'll be fine. Just kind of watch out, okay? Just keep your eyes open. Um, Leora is, uh, she's going to kind of sidle up next to Fi.
So you're a changeling? Yeah. How long have you known that? Well, the first event when I found out I wasn't human was probably about four years ago. I was on a mission with the army and I ended up being captured by some elves. I don't know how I'd done it, but I changed and I managed to escape. But because of obviously where I live, I denied to myself that it was something that I had done. It must have been something that had happened because I was in the elves or near magic or something. But from when I was resurrected, it's been undeniable. I changed shortly after the resurrection, extremely briefly.
But yeah, I couldn't hide it anymore. That must have been pretty rough on you. You kept that a secret for years in the Overwatch? Well, I kept it a secret for myself. So if you lie to yourself long enough, you begin to believe it. It was only recently that I had to stop lying to myself and admit the truth. You guys are all walking pretty much side by side so you can all hear the conversation. Bree's going to speak up. She's trying to remember your name. Jatzia, what's your deal with tieflings? Why do you hate them so much? You seemed really specifically to hate tieflings.
Well, I've had run-ins with only two, to be honest, besides our love. And one of them I trusted and ended up murdering everyone I've ever cared about. And the other one, and she's just going to kind of shrug like, "Fuck it." Well, it's still technically my husband. What? Oona's going to turn around like, "What the fuck?" So, wait, wait, wait, wait. You're married to a tiefling? I didn't choose to be. But yes. You can tell she's kind of struggling to find words. I mean, I can kind of gather from your behavior, but what's he like? He was absolutely insane. I think that's the only way to say it.
Some days he would treat me like I was his doting wife and we'd share a bed and it would almost be okay. And then the next day he would accuse me of being a demon or a monster and do horrible things. So I tried to murder him, but he ended up getting away. But as you've pointed out, humans can be awful too. So I don't know anymore. You know, there are good tieflings. I mean, there's lots of good tieflings. I mean, they're not all power crazy murderers or sword wielding maniacs. I mean, there are some good ones. When Malkus gets back, I'd like you to meet him.
I think I'd like to. Okay. And he wanted you to do a perception check. Yes, please. If you could do a perception check there, Una. Sure thing. Okay. Everyone, do me a favor. Place your characters right here on the edge of the map. Everyone just die. I wonder if we're about to be attacked. While, God, while Brie and Jatzi are talking and Fi and Liara are talking, everyone's kind of stomping through this swampland, kind of hand in hand almost. And Una fails to notice that the ground in front of her is moving slightly. And what's going to happen is I'm going to add, actually, let me add Breanna.
I kept waiting for the rest of the party to arrive and it has already. Oh, that's so sad. Una is going to get attacked by slime. Oh, yeah, baby. Haven't gotten action in a while. So we had tentacles on group two and we got slime on group three. Yes. Liara looks like Zoe from Firefly. A little bit. A little bit. All right. So here's what's going to happen. This this particular slime is going to get an opportunity attack against Una. OK. And it's going to try to engulf Una's head. And that, wow, that is a 26 first year reflex. So that will hit. So the ground is this this this thing is going to kind of spring up and wrap itself around Una's face.
So what's going to happen is you are you. Well, it counts as a grab, but you are also you're also blind. OK. Until save ends. OK. So that's that's going to be incredibly noticeable. Like you just like instantly this thing is going to spring up and wrap around your head. So. Oh, that's not a good start. And these are initiatives. Yay Liara. We've been failing like all the same rules and stuff. It's been nice. Twenty four, twenty three, twenty. Oh my God. Twenty, 19, 12, nine, nine, eight. Nice. All right. Every single slime on the board is going before anyone in your party.
Well, this was fun. All right. OK. Una is grabbed and blinded. Slime. Let's run down the list here. Slime number six is going to shuffle on over to Brianna and use something called slam. Kind of slam its gooey body against Brianna and that's going to miss. Now, the consistency of these things is they're they're kind of slimy and they're they're they're definitely bendy, but they are corporeal. Like you can stab them, you can cut them. They're they're definitely they're not like ghosts or insubstantial or anything like that. They're not that like transparent slime like they are.
They're just slime monsters like the slime covers something that is easily stabable. Hum. Number one is also going to use slam against Una. That will hit. These are all fucking reflex attacks. Yeah, that does not bode well for you. And that's going to be five damage. Number two is going to go right up to fee. Use slam. Yeah, you slam. That is a hit. So that's five damage. Number five, going to shuffle up to Una and you slam and probably hit. Yep, that's a hit. They have to roll like a two to hit my reflex. So that's another five damage to Una. Oh, man. Number four is going to settle up to Una and use slam.
Oh, my God. That missed. Oh, fucking wonderful. Yeah. Well, the fact that you're blind and completely grab, that's not helping. That's true. Number three is going to settle up to Una. You're an easy target right now to them. Yeah, I bet. That's a miss. That's a crit miss, actually. It grabbed itself. OK, Leora's turn. Leora hasn't made an attack in 40 episodes. Damn. Wow. Hope she's leveled up. Well, yeah, she's learned a few things in 17 years. But OK, she is going to shift two spaces because she can. And she's going to use an attack called keep them separated. She is going to throw bolas at three of the slimes right here.
So let's do that. This is a D 20 plus 12 versus their reflex. Twenty seven versus three. That's going to hit twenty five versus five. That's going to hit. And 19 versus one. That's going to hit. So let's roll some damage. Forty four plus five. Shit. Wow. Eighteen to each one of these. And they are they are restrained, which means they can't attack or move. Say that. Holy shit. Yeah. So let's take off damage here and adjust conditions. They are restrained. All right. Oh, God. Brianna's turn. OK. She is going to shift. Damn. Let me see. I'm trying to use one of her attacks that won't murder everyone next to her.
I could use shockwave. That would help. But yeah, let's not do that. Sounds painful. It's painful to everything that's in a cone in front of her. But like, yeah, like let's let's say that she is just going to force punch one of these slime. That is a D 20 plus 14. So she's going to swing at number six. Eighteen versus its. What is that versus? Oh, fortitude. So that'll hit 48 plus 10, 28 damage. And it's knocked back 28 damage. So that's a shitload. Una, you're blind and grabbed. All right. I am blind and grabbed. So that sucks. I can still attack it there, right?
Yes. It'll just be a negative five. OK. I will attack number one. OK. With virtuous strike, which will give me a plus two to saving roll. I have to make in order to escape being fucking grabbed. Nice. Yeah. Well, wait, hold on a second. Did you shave off the shit now? Minus. Yeah. Minus five. That's a natural 20. Oh, shit. It is shit. Oh, I'm sorry. That was that was a natural 20. Yeah. I didn't pick up on it. It wasn't as excited as it usually is. Yeah. Yeah, that will hit. Go ahead and roll damage. OK. Yeah. It's a natural 20. So, yeah, no matter what max damage I can do that.
Max. You have bloodied the slime. Fuck yeah. And I get that plus two to my saving throw. Slimes have blood. You have slimed the slime. So roll that saving throw now or at the end. Oh, now at the end of your turn. Yeah, my bad. I thought that's what you're doing. Just sitting there staring at the computer awkwardly. OK. Seven. That is a seven. So you are still blind. And yeah, grabbed jets here. All right. I am going to use my ethereal slide to move three spaces. Bam. Check that off is used. And then I'm going to use my warlock course to curse number four. Because I always forget my curse.
And if I shoot number one, am I going to shoot one in the face? You shouldn't know. OK, just checking. So I will use Eldritch Blast. And because of my new thingy, I can do that on one and four. Miss. That is going to miss one and four. Oh, that's no fun. Well, I knew that was a chance when I went for reflex. So, OK, that's the end of my turn. Then I move. Crap. Fi, your turn. Oh, and I'm concealed. Sorry. Because I move one and three. Does does Ina still grant flanking if I'm opposite an enemy from her? Not if she's blind, I don't think. OK, but I would I grant flanking when she attacks?
Yes. OK. OK, so I am going to. OK, this tactical trick, it says you move up to your speed. And can I can I use a shift as that? So instead of moving the five, six spaces, I'd move one as a shift. Well, if it says move up to your speed, then one is an option. Yeah. OK, I will do that, which grants me a combat advantage against any and any any enemies that have at least one ally adjacent to them. Got it. No, I didn't. I just need to do that. Well, it doesn't matter. And then I'm just going to use melee basic attack against number four. That's a miss. Anything else, sir?
Oh, hold on. Would an 18 hit it? Because I didn't add combat advantage. Yes, yes, it would hit. Yes, I did hit it then. All right, then. OK, so. I don't add. OK, my where is it? My sneak attack now does the eight. So to the eight speaks, I'm flanking 10. So I'll be adding 10 to my damage. The 19 19 damage to the green slime for anything else, sir. No, that's everything. All right now. OK, let's get ready and do the slime thing again. Number six has to kind of slither its way back across the battlefield because it was punched in the next week. And they're not really a ranged combatant.
So number one is going to continue its assault on Una. Slam, which will hit. Yeah, clearly. Of course. How could it be otherwise? That'll be five damage to Una. They're just like whittling it down. They're not even like. Yeah, they're they're chopping down the tree here. Green slime number two is going to green slime. Number two is going to try ending in the engulf Brie, which will miss her reflex. Number five is going to continue with assault on Una. Slam. That'll hit. What did you say regarding restricted was restricted? What do you mean? You said they were restricted.
Oh, son of a bitch. You're right. They're restrained. Damn it. Thank you. Thank you so much, Kat. So that means I get your health back. They can't do anything. I totally forgot about that. And I have them flagged and everything. Damn. Can I get myself health back? Yep. Ten. Number four, however, is not restrained, so it will slam Una, which is hits. So five damage. Take that away. Don't worry. Thanks. I was kind of worried, you know, I wasn't going to take the damage. Three is restrained, so they're all going to get saving throws, though. So let's do that. No, no and no.
OK. Well, Leora is going to shift back one and then pull out her crossbow. I like it. And she is going to do something called bullseye bolt. She's going to aim at three and good lord, is it D20 plus 14? Good God. That is the that is the advantage of taking experienced people in with you. Twenty four versus this monster's fucking anything. AC. So that'll be three D8 plus ten. Thirty damage. That will kill this Slunk. So this is this is her basically targeting like what she would think the weak spot is in this enemy. And she takes a couple of seconds and then squeezes the trigger.
And this thing goes down. Brie, oh, if she punches that thing, it's going to not feed down. OK, wait, we got to we got to we got to maneuver a bit here. So let's let's do that. Let's go there. There's so many cool things I can do, but I can't because I hurt everyone here. You know what? Just force punch then. Let's just force punch this thing. 33 will hit. To one T3 damage to slime number two. Una, your turn. Oh, my God. These people are making shit. OK, I'm still blind and shitty, right? Yes. You were still blind and shitty. OK, let's go with Valor's Smite this time around on number one.
That's going to if I hit, make every enemy within three squares forced to attack me. Did you hit with a negative five? Minus five is 21 versus AC. That'll still hit. Fuck yes. OK, damage. 14 damage. This thing looks like it's rocking back and forth, like it's on its last legs, maybe. Oh, one second. Wait for it. Can I pop divine strength and add my strength modifier as extra damage? I believe you can. Let me double check. Minor action. Divine strength. Yes, you can. OK, perfect. My strength modifier is, I think, three. Yes. What the hell? Oh, that will kill the slime.
Yes. Roll a saving throw. And that means that everything in three spaces of me needs to attack me. That's number two as well. That is a two. Well, you're no longer grabbed because it can't grab you. Oh, right. It's dead. Yeah. I'm not blinded either, right? Well, I guess not. It's not wrapped around you, really. So I guess you're OK, actually. Never mind about the saving throw. That's silly. Jadzia, your turn. All right. I am going to warlock curse number six, and then I will use rigid darkness. So cute. And it's like, oh, rigid fucking darkness. Like, you play such a dark character.
I'm going to use stab at you from the dark. Eight, twelve. That will miss, sadly. Yeah. Anything else? Anything else you'd like to do? That's one for being speedy. That won't help. No, that will not. Sorry. No, I'll save my action point. Fee! Okie dokie. I think I'm just going to carry on with the melee basic attack against four. And now I am flanking with Una. So plus two to that. Oh, no, I miss. Plus one for the new speedy. That would still miss, I suspect. Versus AC. Yes. Sadly, yes. Yeah. That's everything then. These are not great roles, guys. I'm sorry. Number six is going to slide on up to Jadzia and try to slam her.
Hey, that'll hit. That's the first time Jadzia has ever been hit, I believe. Wow. So that's five damage. At least she's not carrying a bomb this time. Yeah, that's true. Who has to try to attack you? It was four, five and two? Everything in three spaces. Oh, wow. OK, so, OK, this slime is going to try and get around Brie to attack Una. Would that take an attack of opportunity? It would, yes. So Brie is going to get both. OK, Brie and Fi are going to get attacks of opportunity. The tag team of Brie and Fi. So go ahead. Yeah. OK, so melee basic. 18 hits. 18 does hit.
Go ahead and roll damage. Ten. Ten damage. Brie is also going to get an attack of opportunity. That is 32. Holy shit. 33 damage. That will kill this thing. That will also exhaust Brie and she's going to have to charge. Number five is still restrained. He's going to roll a saving throw. 18. So he is no longer restrained. Greenslide number four is going to attack Una. That is a hit. Yes. Five damage. Liara is going to level her crossbow again and going to try and hit Greenslide number five. He was kind of out there in the open and attacking Una. So let's see here.
Crossbow. 24 versus its AC. That's going to hit. And this is just a regular-ass crossbow attack. So 2d8+8. 17. Damn. She's really good with this crossbow. Brie is going to charge. So just a flat D. 2014. She's going to get a plus 10 on her next attack. Una. OK. Let's just go with... I don't know. I kind of want to win for your assault, but I don't need to move. So let's just go with basic strike against number five. That is a hit. I've rolled a 20, a 19, and an 18 all in a row. That's awesome. OK. Damage. 11 damage. 11 damage. This one too is rocking back and forth and it looks to be on its last legs.
Anything else? I would pop a divine challenge, but everything needs to attack me. So no. OK. Jadzia, your turn. OK. I am going to shift back one. Warlock curse number five because the other one is not cursed. And then I'm going to use Dire Radiance on number six. Miss. God damn. Great miss. Goodness. I am afraid not. No, and that wouldn't work either. It says the first time the target moves closer to you on its next turn, it takes an extra one d six. But I think it needs to hit. OK. Could you check that? Because it's underneath hit. So I think. Well, if it says hit, then yeah, it has hit.
OK. Yeah. Damn. Yeah, that's a result of now. Fi, your turn. Okie dokie. I'm just going to carry on with a meanly basic attack against number four. I'm thinking. Oh, God, no. That misses. That's a good miss. Yeah. I feel like I only want to know. Oh, God, no. Do you want to do you want to move? No, I will stay there for the minute. OK. Green slime number six is going to sign on up to Jadzia and try another slam attack. Well, that's that's going to miss. Number five is going to use slam attack against Una. That will hit, on the other hand. So there's another five damage.
Una is bloodied. Green slime number four going to do the same thing. It's being suffocated by slimes like fat guys at a club. Welcome to New Jersey. That is going to miss. Liara levels her crossbow again, aiming at five. Thirty two will hit. Oh, seventeen damage will kill the thing. So she pumps another bolt into it and the thing just kind of like, oh, and just. Yeah. Sorry. Just what? Because. Oh, Brianna is going to. Oh, wow. She is going to try and force punch this green slime number four. Six. OK, so that is 18 versus its fortitude. That'll hit. And that is a forty eight plus twenty.
Thirty four. That'll kill it. Good fucking lord. Una, your turn. OK. Winfairy assault. Finally, my favorite fucking power. OK. Thunderclap. Lots of rain, lots of fucking nasty storm noises and I fly. Can I fly over fee? Well, yeah, you're flying. I'm going to fly over fee. Pat him on the head as I go by and attack. Number six. It's more like, hey, just come by. Not not not like fuck you. Oh, I miss. Wow. That is a lot of build up for shame. Yeah, that'll miss. Can't hit that often, you know. Jadzia, your turn. Yeah. Speaking of not hitting this, this doesn't bode well for the dragon.
Hey, guys, what do you think I should go after? Fortitude or reflex? I'm not asking Jason. That would be cheating. But I'm asking you. I would think fortitude. All right. I will try to do your radiance again. Brianna keeps on hitting on the fortitude. Brianna is better than I am. Yeah, but like miss. Oh, seriously. What was the 13? You know, I rolled a five. Have a plus eight. Still can't hit anything. Your turn. Please kill it. Kind of embarrassing. Like it is embarrassing at this point. OK, I will tactical trick, which is me combat advantage, but I'm not going to move anywhere.
And meet a basic attack. Stu for combat. 22 hits. 22 does hit. OK, so 2d8 for sneak. 7. Maybe I should. 7. 16. All right. That will. Yeah, he's looking like he's on his last legs. Mr. Slime there. That will not stop him, though, from taking another attack at Jadzia. Martyrs bless. You can if you want. That's a daily. That's five. No, I'm just kidding. You don't have to. On the dragon. Yeah, that's five more to Jadzia. The most damage I've ever seen her take. Yeah, she's a little pretty good at like staying away. You guys do it. Three, four, five. Liara is going to position herself opposite this slime and try and use her crossbow again.
Replaces the bolt in the chamber and 22 versus. It's a C that will hit 2d8 plus eight. 20 will kill it. So that'll take you out of combat. Breeze kind of kind of panting heavily and everyone's kind of getting their shit together. And Liara is kind of going to look around the battlefield, make sure there's nothing, nothing else that's trying to attack. And then she's going to stow her crossbow and says, are you guys OK? You didn't take any damage. No, I'm fine. I'm asking if you were OK. You seem a little off like you. I was hitting shit. OK, look, I you kind of let the slime get the jump on you.
I'm just you got to keep your eyes open is all. Shut the fuck up. I took the damage so you wouldn't have to. OK, can we move on? And she's just going to kind of like give this like really faint smile. All right, fine. What does that mean? She likes your gumption. I thought it was like, I'll kill you later for that. Could be that. You never know with her, you never. Crossbow in the foot. That would suck. I bet she could. She's like a surgeon with that thing. Just pin you to the ground to do awful things. Heading deeper into the swamp now, it gets a bit gloomier.
It gets darker almost as if the sun is setting. But you know, it's not because you're floating around, let's say one, two o'clock in the afternoon. It can't be setting. But this is a very gloomy, kind of disgusting place. Getting that now you're getting closer to where this dragon is supposed to be. At least what the anyone who survived to tell the tale like that. This is kind of the whereabouts of this thing, which is this deep, nasty cave that resides somewhere in the center of the swamp. Who would like to roll a nature check for me? You probably have pretty good nature.
No, I think Jetsuya has the highest. I have a plus two. I have plus two. See you then. Did not expect that. I know, right? 15. 15. Just based on your surroundings and where this cave is supposed to be, you're you're you're surmising that you're getting close. Just to let you know, potion is a minor action. OK, cool. Now hold on to it. If it was a standard, I was going to take one now. Yeah, well, you got two. I mean, right now you could pop healing. I have three actually. Yeah, I have three now. Me too. You might want to rest up and get your get your shit together.
Got to love those healing searches. Now I have like 11 of them. That's awesome. You're the tank. I have 11 too, which makes no sense. That doesn't make sense because you are the opposite of the tank. I have that high concentration thing, I think. Yeah, we should we should put you out there more than we put Fi out there. Because Fi is like 10 hit points lower than you. Squishy. Getting getting further into the swamp and presumably closer to this cave, Brianna is way more nervous than when you started out. You can tell she's kind of lost in her own head, like she's not speaking too much.
And Liara is trying to strike up a conversation to to kind of ease to kind of ease that whole thing. So she's trying to get to know you guys and talk to you and try to draw something out. So I just want to tell you that if we do pull this off, we're going to split whatever we find in this cave equally. Just in case that was a concern. Awesome. Sounds fab by me. Perfect. Splitting anything sounds good. I thought this is all for the good of the elves. They have weapons. This is more a bonding experience. And Bri's kind of kind of chime in. No, it's pretty much suicide.
The reward is friendship. The real magic. Wonder what friendship could be. Good Lord. God damn it, you're bubbly. See, I should know the next line to that, but I can't think of it. Something something share magic with me. Yeah. I die. Yeah. I feel ashamed of myself. I can't remember what it is. Well, I guess I know we're dying. Because I love to make you smile, smile, smile. Sorry, I'll stop. It's like I'm being doused in holy water. Like, I feel like, good God. It's so goddamn cute. Physically hurts my teeth. Like eating a Milky Way after downing a Coke. Oh God, it's so sweet.
After this suicide comment, Leor is going to chime in. We can do this. The rewards will be worth it. It'll be fine. We can do this. She's trying to be reassuring about it. If Una is anywhere near Bri, she's going to glance over and grin and say, "If I can survive you, I can survive a fucking dragon. Let's go." Bri's going to get this nervous chuckle. Do you know anything about Kael'thorin? Like what he's supposed to be? Because my dad told me stories about him when I was a kid and I want no part of it. Has anyone here ever seen a dragon? Nope. That was an excellent question.
Liara? Brianna? Have you ever seen a dragon? Liara's... well, yeah. I've never fought one. But how hard could it be? I mean, we can do this. Don't worry about it. It'll be fine. We just need to play it smart and try and get the drop on the thing. It's not like it's a white or red dragon. I mean, it's wily and dangerous and we can do it. I think his reputation is more what gets him by. I think people psych themselves out before they come in here and then that's how he gets the drop on people. And Bri's going to say, "I have never actually seen a dragon." And as she looks at Una, do you remember the whole hellish nightmare thing we talked about?
Lots of dragons and shadow beasts and general awfulness. And Kael'thorn's supposed to be kind of a cross between shadow beast and dragon. So, pretty much my absolute worst nightmare. Maybe this will be cathartic then. Like, kind of like half-hearted smile. Like, "Ehh." What, dying at the hands of my worst nightmare? Yeah, yeah, maybe. That'll... yeah, maybe. Una punches all of her fears away. It's true. It's worked for me. Someone roll Perception for me, please. I'll do that. 17. Okay. Fae off to the side of this treeline spots a cave. Which is not incredibly large, the opening of which isn't.
But theoretically this is supposed to be where Kael'thorn is. How would you guys like to try and do this? Should we call him out? Try and get him to attack us so we don't get surprised? Now, right now you're far enough away from it that there's no stealth check required or anything like that. But you're at the point where you can see it and it's time to make a decision. You can see L'Aura's kind of scoping the place out. But I didn't know if you wanted to try and proposition something before she came up with a plan. If we draw him out, we have potential to surround him in this area.
I don't know how much space is going to be down in that cave. It may be a case of we're walking straight into his mouth. I like drawing him out, knowing what we've got coming as opposed to wandering in blind. So you want to draw him out? Yeah. So before all this, L'Aura's going to get close to you guys. And she's going to lower her voice. Okay, are we all ready for this? Yeah? Everyone okay? As ready as we were ever being, I suppose. Yeah, let's do this. And she's going to... God, I haven't hunted anything in so long. This is great. Okay, everyone just kind of fan out, Winnie, if he's actually in there.
Everyone fan out. Try not to let him get the drop on you. Oh, don't get near his tail or his head. Okay? Okay. I don't know if you know anything about black dragons, but they don't breathe fire. It's more acid, so don't get near that. And don't get into a position where he can swipe you with his tail. If you kind of stay back, well, I guess except for Oona, everyone else stay back and try not to get hit by this thing. We'll just hit him as hard as we can and take him down, all right? Is there anything else we should know before this, or is that basically the essentials?
Yeah, and she's kind of going back and forth. Tail, head, don't get bit, don't get breathed on. No, that pretty much covers it. Just don't... Don't get bit? Oh, yeah, don't get bit. Why don't we want to get bit? Why don't you want to get bit by a dragon? Does he have any poison or something? Well, I mean, besides the acid breath, I'm not really sure. But I just would advise you not to get bit. Okay, thanks. Just be very blunt about it. Like, that's a dumb fucking question. That's a stupid question. Why would you ask that? Why don't you want to get bit by a dragon?
Sassy bitch. Breeze kind of like put her head, like, oh man, that's who beat me in that fucking duel? Oh, man, all right. Like, how are you not dead yet? That's kind of like she's looking at you like, fucking really, how are you not dead? You should be dead. Una's intelligence is really low. I love that. Like, I think she all huddled around in like a football huddle. Okay, why not? Her intelligence is really low. Well, that's why she punches a lot of her problems. She's got pretty high wisdom. Like, but dexterity intelligence took a beating. Well, the wisdom comes from...
The wisdom comes from making all the mistakes thanks to the low intelligence and learning from them at least. That's... Breeze taking like a real deep breath. Okay, okay, okay. What do we have to lure him out here? Me? This, she's just kind of asking in general. And Liar kind of looks at her, well, I mean, you can make a lot of noise if you wanted. And Bree looks at me. You want me to lure it out? Liar's like, come on, it'll be fine. We'll just fall back and we'll make sure that nothing happens to you, I promise. You know that I would never let anything happen to you if I can help it.
And it's the "if I can help it" part that kind of jumps out at her. And Bree's going to take a deep breath and let loose this force blast near the cave's entrance. So the sound of this just reverberates into this cave. And then there are a few tense seconds where you're waiting for anything to happen. Because after that, it's this creeping silence that kind of envelops everything. And then you hear this kind of a snort. And from within the cave, you hear movement. Which starts out more like kind of a rustling and then becomes this full-on, like something large inside is scurrying out.
And the first thing to emerge from the mouth of this cave are two large talons that kind of wrap around the outer rim of the cave. And then pulling itself out is Kaelthorn, this huge black dragon. Huge, not in terms of dragons themselves, but huge in terms of you. So you know what, if you guys want to put your characters, we can just use this map actually. Because it's all kind of the same looking thing. You can put yourselves anywhere in this area if you want to reposition yourselves. Okay, question. Can we cross through the water? Because I saw Liara doing that.
Yes, you can cross the- it's more marsh. Alright, cool beans. Yeah, there is a risk of getting your boot stuck, something like that, but yeah, you can do it. And where abouts is this cave that the dragon would be coming out of? That would be right here, like this corner. Okay. Are you ready? Yes? Yep. Brianna's pretty far away. That's where she wants to be. She'll be on the right. So... No, he's too far in. So that would be Kaothorn. So emerging from this cave, it almost looks like he should not fit into it. He kind of uncoils from this thing and emerges and then pans the area and lets lose this roar.
Everyone roll initiative. Let's go guys, let's do this, we get to fight a fucking dragon. How awesome is that? How D&D is that? It's in the double digits. I'll go Gavin was in there for a second. Yeah. This is gonna be so fucked. Is it bad that I was looking at Kaothorn and I was like, in my head it was spelled like kale, like the vegetable? That's what I thought too, honestly. Yeah, me too. That's my pronunciation, my bad. It's not like I'm thinking it's a vegetable dragon or anything. The most dreaded of all the dragons. Eat your vegetables! I can kill you. They use stories about Christ.
The deadpan delivery of that is what got me. Shout out to VeggieTales. Oh, heavy-handed fables. Wow, alright. So, the initiative tracker looks like Kaothorn, Leora, Brianna, Jadzia, Lee, Fi, and Una. Oh man, what's this guy's movement speed? Oh, a lot! Oh, hi. Perfect. Whole fuckload is what his, um, he can move eight spaces on land, guys. He can move anywhere and attack five times per turn. Also he has 24 action points. He's immune to damage. That's his only immunity. He has a resistance to hurt feelings. Oh god, okay. What's this? Kaothorn emerges from this cave, pans the area, lets loose this roar, and just kind of scurries.
Imagine more giant lizard than what you typically picture as a dragon. This thing is big and it's got a lot of fortitude, it would appear. But it's huge and kind of jagged looking. It's got these jagged quills all over it. Ugh, malkacy. Yeah, little malkacy, bat wings and everything. And it is going to scurry over to Una. And it's going to use something called Frightful Presence. This thing is so fucking intimidating that he's essentially going to enter the battlefield and flex at you. And this is a burst five. One, two, three, four, five. So it's just going to miss Liara and Brianna.
But it will hit, well you will be in range, the rest of you. So he is going to attack your wills. That is a hit to Una, that is a hit to Fi, and that is a hit to Jadzia. Motherfucker. Can I intimidate back? Skill check. You are all stunned until the end of his next turn. And you all taking negative two penalty to attack rolls, save ends. Is that what stun does? No, that's just different. That's just stunned, my bad. Let's see here, stunned you grant combat advantage. You can take no actions and can't flank. So we can't attack for a turn. Yeah, your attacks are forfeit basically.
You are petrified by this thing, that's how. Damn it. So, um. That sounds about right. That's embarrassing for a paladin of the fucking god of courage. Well, it's the last black dragon, that's pretty intimidating. This guy has got good game. Black dragon sucks so much that all the rest of them died, that's not intimidating. Well, this one has managed to hold on. So, he has to flex harder, let you know he is not a bitch like his dead brothers and sisters. See, when we actually go into his cave, we are just going to see the heads of all the other black dragons.
Fuck you, I am the last one because I killed them all. Oi, okay. Bolas would do nothing here, so Leora is going to use her bullseye bolt and take aim against Kaothorn. And 28 versus his AC, that will hit. So she is trying to draw this thing away from you. 21 damage versus Kaothorn. And he is bloody. Ha ha, would that be so anticlimactic. Breeze turn, she is shitting herself. Like this thing is straight out of her nightmares. This thing is so dark it looks to be made of shadow. This thing is intimidation incarnate. And she is going to fall back to about there.
So she is about 20 feet from this thing. And she is going to try and force blast it. Which is a d20 plus 14 versus its AC. 33 versus its AC. 3d8 plus 12. 26 damage to Kaothorn. So Leora and Brianna can see what is going on with you guys and they are trying to... They are trying to go over here you big fuck, that kind of thing. Because you guys are just quaking with fear. Jadzia go ahead and roll a saving throw. I have never had roll a saving throw, just flat d20? Flat d20, that's right you never get attacked. Wait I think I have something for this. I miss, attack and fail a saving throw.
Okay, roll, sorry. 6. That is not very good. Fee roll a saving throw. Okay, okay. 3. Una roll a saving throw. 13. Okay, Una is the only one who is going to shake off the negative penalty. That works in character, I like that. So kind of digging into there, it's like fuck this, that kind of thing. You still all missed your turns. And it's Kaothorn's turn now. So now he has done the thing where he is like, okay prove my point I think. He is going to pick up one of these massive talents, these big claws. And reach back and take a swing at Una. That is a hit. And 16 damage to Una.
Liora is going to use her crossbow again. Try and pump another bolt into this thing. 30 will hit and 18 damage. By the way, he is not selling any of that. She is pumping it into its back. And it is just joining the other kind of quills and awful sharp jaggedness that is this thing. He is barely flinching. Ah man. Brianna is going to take a deep breath and move closer to this thing. Like right up to its face. And she is going to reach back and she is going to try to force punch it. 19 versus his fortitude that is going to miss. So nothing happens. It is just like he is dodging and weaving.
Kind of wily for a dragon. Almost snake-like. Jatia, your turn. It's not a roll of saving throw. No, no, no. Well that is the end of your turn. Oh, well I am stunned so can I do anything? No, no, you are not stunned anymore. You are good. Oh. The stun was like a temporary, like till the end of his... Oh well, yeah. So he already took his next turn. Oh, okay. I didn't plan anything. Okay, warlock, curse the dragon. Which goes without saying really. Makes sense. I guess I will do... Let me see, one sec. Okay, I will activate hellfire touch. And then I will attack the dragon with frigid darkness.
And then when he hits, fuck! I will use an action point and try that again. Fuck, fuck, fuck. Sorry, that fuck just... I was wondering what was happening. Sorry. So I will use my siphon of the scion or whatever that thing is called. Okay. And take the four damage I think. Frigid darkness is a level three spell, so would I take three damage? Oh... He asked about this before but I can't remember. That is part of the frigid darkness. I think it's three. It's gonna miss again just because I tried so hard. Fuck! Okay, and then I take five damage from the hellfire touch.
Damn. I can't hit anything today. Well... Fight's not over. Fi, your turn. Okie dokie. Okay, so... Tactical trick. Let's move to there. So I get combat advantage. I'm gonna use backstab which will give me... plus three power bonus to my attack roll. And then use a melee basic attack on him. So I get plus two from tactical and plus three. Oh, and that misses. That will miss, yeah. You said you were using backstab? No, that gave me three additional. So I've used one of those. I have another one. Kael'thear was gonna use a tail slash against you. Wait, do I get a turn?
No, this is a reaction. That's gonna miss though, so don't worry about that. Never mind. Anything else, sir? Una, your turn. I'm gonna shift up next... Wait, do I have to say, would that fuck you up? No, I'm running. I'm gonna shift up next debris. I'm going to use hold fast on Kael'thear. That will immobilize him. If I hit. That is a crit. That is a crit! 23 damage. Yay! 23 damage, and... So it's basically like, stay the fuck there! And then I'm going to pop a divine challenge. So that he has to attack me. And he takes damage if he attacks anyone else. Alright. Jeez, Kael'thorn.
He will attack you. In fact, he's going to attack you twice. He's gonna use two claw attacks. So one, two, they both hit. That's a lot of damage. 12 damage, and... 10 damage. So that is... Wow, that will bloody you. That'll take you down to 15 hit points. Okay. Oh, Jesus. Liara's turn. Crossbow. Oh, that's a crit miss. Shit. So the bolt goes wide. Brianna is going to charge 19. She'll get a +15 to her next attack if it hits. Jadzia, your turn. Okay, I am going to move down here. And so I get my concealment. And then I will do Eldritch Blast. I keep having to switch to the...
Shocker. Alright, I'm done. That's a miss. Wait, wait, +1 for thinking speedy? +1 for thinking speedy? Yeah. Really? Oh my goodness, I control damage. 12 damage. Wait, wait. +1. Fi, your turn. Okeydokey. Tactical trick again. So that I get combat advantage. Actually, if I... One, two, three. Over there as well. So that means that Una and Brianna can get combat advantage. Can get flanking as well. So I'm going to attack with +2. That will hit. Yes! Okay, so... 2d8 sneak. 8. Demilabasic. +8. 24. 24 damage, gorgeous. Anything else? No, that's everything. Alright, Una, your turn.
Yes, I'm going to have to do some heal stuff. First, let's attack a bit. You know what? Let's on pain of death. That's my daily. Attacking, I get +2 for flanking. Please, dear god, please hit. Please. That is a hit. Thank fucking god. Almost a crit. Okay, damage. 10? You're fucking kidding me? It bloodied him. So there's that. Check that off. And then Lay on Hands. Let's do that. So I get to spend a healing surge. And I get the 5 temporary hit points. That's my surge value. 10? No, 11. Okay. I kind of want an action point. But I'm not sure that's useful. You're not sure getting another swing at him is useful?
Okay, fine. Action point. I'm going to use my cool powers, but I don't have any left. So let's just do straight up hard at strike. +2 for flanking. That's going to miss. Okay, I had some pretty good hits in. Okay, then that's it. Careful. Well, shit. Okay. Uh oh. That was some sort of bloodied reaction. Well, yeah. So he's going to use Cloud of Darkness. And he's going to kind of pull his wings back. And then spread them out like he's getting ready to take off. And then this awful... Cloud of Darkness, this literal cloud of darkness is going to infel up the area.
And it is a burst 2. So let's... Um... It creates a zone of darkness that remains in place until the end of his next turn. The zone blocks line of sight for all creatures except the dragon. Any creature entirely within the area, except the dragon, are blind. And then he's going to take off. I think he's immobilized. Is he? Oh, he is immobilized. Shit, you're right. Okay. Well, then... Is the immobilized save ends? Or just till the end of your next turn? Oh, yes. End of my next turn. Alright, well then he's just going to try and bite Una. That is a hit. Yes, that is. 18 damage.
So, Kaethorn reaches back with it. He's got this long slender neck and he's going to snap like a goddamn cobra. And just kind of clamp down around Una's plate armor. And... Shit, Liara's turn. She's going to try... She's going to try and find another crossbow bolt in there, but she's going to take a negative 5 to the roll. 14, that's going to miss. Shit. Okay. Brie may have to pop a daily. But, oh shit, if she does that, then Brie is going to shift over here. She's going to take a negative 5. She's going to use something called Overload. She's going to pick her hands up like she's going to force blast.
And what it essentially is, is a blast so strong, that it's going to push her back three squares and knock her prone. Think real Dragon Ball Z-esque type of stuff here. Already was. Way ahead of you there. Okay, just wanted to throw it out there. Ahh. That is a 12. So... Well, she was blind. So, she lets loose with this torrent of energy. That's going to knock her back three spaces. She is going prone, and she's going to have to charge on her next turn. And that was her daily. So, the damage would have been impressive though, had it landed. Jatzia, your turn.
Alright. I'm going to move one, two, three, four, five, six. And I'm concealed again. I'm going to keep that up for the whole thing. So concealed, I don't see you on the map. Yeah, I'm kind of off the edge. Yeah, I see it. Like, you're making a new map. Pretty much. Charging my own way. Oh, goodness, what should I use? I guess I'll just Eldritch Blast because of the negative 5. I don't want to use anything like a daily. Holy shit, I missed. Okay. Fi, your turn. Do I still get flanking with Una even though you can't see? I'm not sure if the rule is if you can't see or if they're prone.
Go ahead and get flanking. It's fine. Okay. I'm going to use Backstab as well so that will eliminate the negative 5, but I won't get any bonuses. So this is just my standard Immulabisk attack. Miss. Damn it. That is going to miss. Una, your turn. Okay, shit. Okay. If I pull, can I pull it in, like, do I have to pull it towards me or can I pull it back or something? Well, pull indicates pull. Okay. That would be kind of useless then. Yeah, because he is all up in your grill right now. Yes. My grill is full of dragon. Okay, just regular Ardent Strike then. Got to pop a Healing Surge here.
Minus 5? Yeah. Okay, but then plus 2 for flanking. Yes. So only minus 3. Okay. That is a miss. Yes, that is expected. Okay, and then should I Jink Okay. So that will give me another Healing Surge plus my thing. I'm wondering if I should Second Wind. Can I Second Wind? You haven't used it yet. So that means I get to pop another Healing Surge and my defense is all raised by 2? Well, don't forget also, okay, when you pop a Healing Surge, don't forget you get 5/10 hit points. Yes. Yeah, that is a minor. Okay, so I can do that. Is it Leon Hands a minor? Oh shit, yeah, you are right.
Yeah. You can reduce a move or a standard to a minor as well. Yeah, so I mean if you are not attacking then yeah. Or not moving. Well, yeah, okay. So I can use it? Yes. Okay, cool. I will do that then. I get another Healing Surge and then 10 Temporaries. Okay. I just want to get back to as much health as I can. Oh, I don't blame you. And then my defenses go up by 2? Yes. Sweet, okay. So the end of your next turn is. Cool. You're done? Yep. Kael'thorne's turn, he is no longer immobilized. Which means he is going to take flight and go back a few spaces. Now that means you both will get an opportunity attack.
So go ahead and do that now. Okay. That's just melee basic, right? 5/10? Yeah, you're still blind. Do we still get the +2 of the flanking? Yes. Okay. Look, he's just taking off now. So as soon as he gets back in, that's a miss. And that's a miss. Okay, totally fine. He does not sweat, y'all. Fun fact. Black dragons do not sweat. He is going to fly, let's see, that's a close blast, 5. That'll be fun. 1, 2, okay. So he's going to use his Acid Breath. And he is going to use it against Fi and Una. Tits. Tits indeed. That is going to hit Fi. That is going to, oh wow, an 18 hits your reflex.
That is going to hit Una. Shit. Boy, get ready. 24 damage. Oh shit, Fi, get back next turn. Yep. Is he going to take -9 because he also attacked Fi? Um, he attacks someone who isn't you, even though he did attack you as well, so yes, he does take 9. Um, so yeah, he's going to rear back and then just let loose with this misty cloud of acidic crap from his mouth. And it just, it burns the shit out of you. Um, Leora's turn. Uh, fuck. Another crossbow bolt. She's just pumping this thing full of, uh, 25 will hit. And 13 damage. Uh, Bree is going to stand up. Just kind of like, you can tell that took a lot out of her.
She's just kind of like, "Okay, shit, I at least wish that would have hit." So she's going to stand up and then she's going to charge. That's a 4, so, eh. Jadzia, your turn. Alright, I'm going to move. 1, 2, 3, 5, 6. Which conceals me. And, ah, ah fuck it. Flames of Phlegathos. I've missed everything, but here we go. That's a hit! Almost a crit. I hit with the only power I didn't want to miss with. Yay. So there's that, and then also that. 25. 25 damage total. Yeah, Jadzia. Or him. I hit him. Yay. Um, Fie, your turn. Thank you, Doki. Um... Oh, okay, shit. Alright. Um, okay, I'm going to unbalance some tricks.
It allows me to shift to, so I shift up to there. Um, and then I'm going to use my... ...range basic attack. Um, and that misses terribly. Oh god, that's a crit miss. Um, and I'm going to use my second wind. What was the thing you posted in the group 3 page? That's what happens when Fie uses his bow. Yep. Yeah. He was jumping and flipping and doing all the fancy shit. Um, okay, so you surge. There you go. So, um... Hang on a sec. What? Um... Getting out of that's everything then. Okay. Uh, Una, your turn. Okay, um, let's do... Is that black cloud of nasty gone? Oh, it is.
It is as of now, actually. Cool, cool. Uh, wind fury assaults. Fucking awesome. Lightning thunder sparks and bullshit, flying through the air. Like a badass. Do I get flanking with Fie? No. Okay, that's unfortunate. Um, I'd like to hit this guy because it's fun. Wow, that's pathetic. Okay. That's a miss, yeah. Wind fury assault not doing me so well this day. Okay, um, that's okay. Um... As a result, Kaelthorn is going to take a swing with his tail at you. Fucker. Uh, and that'll hit. Son of a cocksucker. He's gonna do eight damage and, uh, knock you back one square.
Okay, that sucks. Um, if I still have a... Is that potion a minor action? Yes. Okay, um, I'm gonna drink one of my potions then. Okay, um, roll a 1d10 and that's the healing you get from it. Crap, okay. Yeah, these are minor potions. Okay, that is a 1d10. Which one? There we go. I think so. Seven. Okay, that's not too crap. Uh, you all done? Um, yep. Kaelthorn's turn. Uh, he is going to sidle right up next to Fie and try and bite him. Uh, rear back his head again and, oh, that is... He takes a fuckton of damage for the net. And by fuckton I mean nine. Nine? Nine's a fuckton in some parts of the country.
Uh, that'll reduce Fie to seven hit points. And Kaelthorn gets nine damage to him. Um, Brie is gonna try and use, I'm sorry, Leora's gonna try and use Bullseye Bolt again. Uh, let's see here, that is d20 plus thirteen. Thirty! So that will hit. Twenty-six. Um, she's gonna shoot Kaelthorn in one of his eyes. Shit. To try and get him off of Fie. Get it? Cause she, anyway. It's a really shitty thing to do to somebody. Uh, so, yeah, twenty-six damage. Oh, jeez, that'll bring up Brie. Uh, she is going to use Force Blast. Uh, d20 plus fourteen. That is a crit. Fuck yes.
Wait, that was two d20s, sorry, my bad. That is, yeah, I was about to say, that's bigger than a crit. What the fuck just happened? Um, let's try that again. Uh, nineteen. Okay, that, that, that'll miss. That's less impressive. Jadzia, your turn. I think it's fair that you could take, like, the first, the fifteen. I was gonna say the same thing, but... The first d20 that rolled. The first d20, no, no, that's a reroll. I messed up. Uh, go on, Jadzia. Alright, I am going to move and I'm back on the map. Hi, guys. Um, which gives me concealment. Let's never forget. I will use Eldritch Blast.
Hit! My luck is changing, yay. Damage. Fourteen plus five, nineteen. Nineteen damage total. Alright. Thi, your turn. Okey-dokey. Um, I'm going to... Uh, unbalance and trick to shift back two. Um, and then I'm going to reduce my attack down to a move. So I can tactical trick. And that allows me to move up to my speed. Which is six. One, two, three, four. There. Um, how, how, how far is my, my basic range? Just above? It's ten to twenty, so you could shoot ten comfortably. Anything more than that, you're going to take a negative shoot penalty. Okay. Um, I'm going to drink one of my potions that I was given.
One, two, three, four. Seven. Okay, um, and then I'm going to pop an action point. Uh, and I'm going to do a ranged basic attack. And that's going to miss. It is a miss. He was not meant to hit me at range. Uh, well, my, my ranged and my basic are exactly the same apart from the damage is less. I'm just talking about role playing wise. Maybe there's something. His father was killed with a bow. Not, not someone with a bow. The bow. The bow killed. Um, you all done? That was everything. Yeah, that's everything. Oona, your turn. Okay, cutting words. Um, do it to attack and I'm going to say get over here you fucking pathetic salamander.
Miss. That's fun. He ignores you. Yeah. Um, did not really expect that to work. Okay, I don't really have anything else I can do. I already popped my action points, so I'll just, uh, yeah, I'll just end my turn. Uh, Kaothorn's turn. He's going to take a very wide stance. Um, and he's pretty beat up. Like, pretty beat up. Um, and he's going to start, he's going to spread his wings really wide. Um, and he's going to start to try and take off. So, if you don't take him out within this next turn, he's going to try and just fly away. Um, Liara is going to use, oh that's a 32.
Liara's going to, uh, use her crossbow bolt. Uh, 16 damage. Uh, Brie is going to use, uh, force blast. To try and pump some more psionic energy at this thing. 28 that'll hit. And 31 damage. Uh, Jadzia, your turn. Okay, um, since he's going to run away anyway, I guess I will stay where I am. Um, I will do Diabolic Grasp. Yeah, I figured. Um, action points. Um, I'll just blast. Ah, both? Okay. Wait, um, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21. If I use Heroic Effort and get points for being speedy, would I hit him? So it'd be plus 5. You gotta tell me if you're using Heroic Effort. I am using Heroic Effort.
You will hit him. Yay. 16 plus 5. 21. You blast Kaothorn in the back with your Eldritch. Jadzia has finished off Kaothorn. Notable kill! Notable kill, this not a child, yay. So he's got like part way off the ground and you just blast him in the back and that is enough to take him out. And that is a cop car. Yep, yep. We did kill an endangered species, so. That's true, so that's extinct now. Quite possibly extinct. Um, Jesus Christ, hold on, let's let this cop car pass, come on. Thank you. Alright, crackheads. So yeah, that is enough to take out Kaothorn. He tumbles to the ground and he is limp and lifeless.
And he's so heavy he kind of sinks into the marsh a bit, just a little bit. So congratulations to you, that is friggin' awesome. Yes, we just killed a fucking dragon! Liara's just kind of standing there, she's kind of perched on this rock that's kind of sunk into the bud. And just this kind of really relaxed smile comes over her face, like she really loves to hunt shit. It's like stuff that should probably kill her. This is huge, a big ass feather in your cat. Because, I mean, there are tons and tons of people who have tried to do this and you guys have managed to pull it off.
And Brianna just kind of bends over and she's just kind of like panting, like a real sigh of relief type of thing. Would you like to head into the cave? Oh yes. Yes. Okay. Should we try to loot the dragon? Like, he probably doesn't have much on him, but... Just take his shoes. Let's take his head! Let's take that fucker's head. Those horns look pretty neat. Make drinking horns out of them. Awesome. I am totally doing that. So do you want to try and cut off his head and bring it back? Or just his horns? Cut off anything we can cut. I could make that dirty. But I won't because this is just for adults.
I want one of his horns for a drinking horn. Can we make some dragon scale armor? I was thinking the same thing. Can we skin this guy? Ooh. Ooh. I like it. That's outside the box thinking. That'll take a while. And a set of really sharp knives. And patience. But yeah, you know what? Fuck yes, you can do that. Awesome. Sweet. I mean, you'll have to take it to somebody who can craft it and then enchant it and all that. But yeah, you'll have the materials. The really heavy materials. That's badass. That is really badass. And we're kind of tea bagging the dragon a little bit too.
A little bit. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you can totally do that. Within his cave, which is not as big as you would think it is inside. This is, yeah, kind of tight in spaces actually. There is a clutch of items which appear to be looted from dead adventurers that have tried in vain to kill him over the years. Do you, okay, do you want me to just read off the list of stuff you just uncovered? Yep. Yes. Okay. Let's start with the Cloak of the Walking Wounded. That will give the wearer a +1 to fortitude, reflex and will. And if you use your second wind while bloodied, you can expend two healing surges instead of one.
Yeah. There's an Amulet of Life, which is a next slot item, gives you a +1 to fortitude, reflex and will. And a healing encounter power comes with it. The trigger is you use this power when you spend a healing surge. The effect? You can spend an additional healing surge. Yeah. There's what appears to be something someone brought for luck, which is a lucky charm that did not work for them so much. Maybe one of you will have better luck with it. You wear it around your neck, it's a +1 to fortitude, reflex and will. Trigger, if you miss with an attack or fail a skill check, ability check or saving throw, you can roll a d6 and add the result to the attack, skill check, ability check or saving throw.
Now this is an interesting one for all you dark magic users. This is a bit of a rare item. Now do you remember earlier when you were wondering if I forgot about you? I did not. It's called the Helm of the Seven Deaths. Oh my god, that is so fucking awesome. It's this gorgeous ebony, almost like a cross between a crown and tiara type of thing. And it's encrusted with seven jewels. And what happens is, when you kill things, as a minor action you can suck the soul out of the air and store it within one of the jewels. Oh my god, that's so cool. And then use that as fuel to do cool shit with this crown.
So for instance, let me just read you off a couple of cool things you could do. The effect, choose a bloody creature you have hit with an attack during this turn, you learn that creature's current hit point total. That is a utility at will. That is just an at will power. Here's one, a trigger, you kill a living creature with an attack, one of the Helm's seven gems captures the creature's soul, as I was talking about, and you can hold no more than one soul at a time. Well, each gem can only hold one soul, is what it's saying. And it kind of glows with this gorgeous green radiance.
A dead creature cannot be returned to life when its soul is captured in this manner, so zombies aren't really a problem. While you're holding its soul now, what you do is you save them up and then you can cash them in for stuff like this. This is a healing encounter power. You have to have at least three of the seven gems containing a soul. The effect, you regain hit points equal to five plus one half of your level and two of the gems release their souls. Hot. And then there's the big one, where if you cash in all seven, the effect, on your next damage roll, maximize the result of up to four of the dice you roll.
And then all seven gems kind of release the souls. That's hot. Oh man, I love it. And then in the back, just kind of laying on the ground unceremoniously, is Kord's Fury, the hammer that is supposedly enchanted by Kord himself. This is a big badass smashy hammer. And we kind of talked about what it does earlier. Now, I don't know how you want to divvy this treasure up, or who necessarily gets what. But I think that's a pretty good time for us to stop this evening. I think so, yeah. Got a fucking dragon, got a fucking hammer. Wouldn't it be funny if we just gave Fi the hammer?
Fi, I would kill you for it. Like in your sleep. I'm really honorable, but I'll kill someone in their sleep for a hammer. It's not any old hammer. It's true. It has to be a shiny hammer. Oh man, that seven depths thing sounds so cool. That is so fucking hardcore. It's so metal, man. I'm going to use fucking souls as fuel to hurt things. I'm going to suck out your soul as you're dying and use it to kill your friend. So is that like souls within... is that things that have died within a certain radius of her, or is that just anyone who dies on the battlefield?
Let's see. Oh, she has to kill it. Oh, okay. Yeah, she has to kill it, and then... And just to specify, they get released at the end. They don't get destroyed. They get released, yeah. Perfect, okay. She probably wouldn't want to use it if they got destroyed. Yeah, yeah. I'm just going to borrow your soul for a minute, and then I'll let you die. And the thing is, there's no time limit on how long you can store it, I don't think. Let me check. Let me double check for you. I wonder if I can pick which souls get released. Like, we kill something really awesome, and I just want to keep it there forever.
Run back out there and trap Kael'thorin's soul. Hardcore as shit. We should try and set Jadzi up to get more kills if we can, so that she can suck up fucking souls and shit. Excuse me, all the notable kills. Just go anyway. I mean, notable kills are another thing. I can just imagine her going, "I got your soul, I got your soul." Dude, that TR thing is fucking gorgeous too, I bet. Souls probably make those gems glimmer like no other. Jadzi is a pretty princess. Jaaass. Alright, I gotta jet because if I'm late to my grandmother's birthday party, I'm going to be yelled at.
