- Hi, I'm Tom and I play Yanward, the Minotaur with the mostest. - All right. - Had to be different. - So, episode 63 was horror of fucking bull and we've been getting emails nonstop and then we left people for a week to go take a vacation and then we got more emails about that, so. In the aftermath of the last episode, Talia is laying face down on the floor of Winterhaven Hall surrounded by a pool of her own blood. Ian is lying flat on his back with his eyes open. Jatia got the finishing blow off on him. I'm going to assume that you wanted to take his soul.

- Very much so, yes. - All right. His once silvery, gleaming armor is tarnished with a mixture of his blood and a couple of other people's. It's also covered in cuts and dings. Brianna is being held in Una's arms. Her eyes are shut and in the stark silence of the room, full of people, there's only one audible noise except for the sounds of people catching their breath and that is the rhythmic spattering sound of Brianna's blood hitting the floor coming from a gaping abdomen wound. Yanward's left horn and the top of his head is coated in Brianna's blood and little bits of her innards.

They're really not sure what to do 'cause this is a bit unprecedented. It was clear that Ian was up to something, but it's not like he gave an open confession and Duncan was able to convince them that he wasn't worth rescuing, essentially. So they're all just kind of looking at each other. They're not exactly sure what to do, if they should go get help, if they should go alert everyone. They're really not sure. - So what's going on with Tali right now? Talia, she's just laying there? - She's dead, right? - I mean, is there anybody around her or anybody?

Or we're just all circling Bree right now? - I think Thoril's the closest one to her, but he's not over or anything. - I'd say Thoril is actually over there with her. I mean, that seems like the most noble thing to do at this point. - Yeah, Thoril will have the guards take her and as well as probably get some help for the rest of us. - That seems like a pretty logical thing. These six guards are going to go ahead and four of them are gonna start shuffling over to Talia.

And they're going to gently lift her up. And the other two are going to kind of motion over to the door and make sure that the path is clear for them to gently remove her from the room. And they are going to, they're going to go ahead and get some more people in here. Like the people need to be alerted. Like there is a protocol to follow in this situation. It's just completely, it was completely unforeseen. - It's in the rule book. - I mean, someone's got to take over and Ian did have a next of kin. - Daddy did. - So what happens after that? So if we had that to hand over to the person who takes over, then it might make us look a little bit better. - If the person who takes over is worthy of it, they can come get it from the temple of Kord.

There is a tenuous truce with the army outside, but no one to lead them. Being as how that kinda fell on Malkus, and Malkus is gone, and then that would fall on Ian, and now Ian's gone. - So. - We should find Nathaniel. - Okay, so. - Are there any guards around still that we could send to? - There are people kind of filing in and out.

And he's gonna give a glance over to Jadzia. It doesn't end well." - Jadzia's gonna kind of glance up at him like questioningly, but she doesn't wanna ask 'cause obviously now is probably not the time. - She walks a little bit closer and says, "The last resurrection that we know of went absolutely fine." - Valus is just gonna kind of lean back up and he's just gonna kind of give a motion, like lead the way.

He's not gonna fight you on it anymore. - Una's gonna look over at Ironhide and just say, "Sir, if you would like to accompany us, Jadzia is probably your best bet for when this disease takes its toll. And we might be able to help you unless you have unfinished business here, but we need to get going." - So I assume you're leaving right now. There's no pit stop you wanna take in Winterhaven at all, right? - We need to see a cleric, but besides that, yeah. - I think it's best that I head with you. - So Ironhide's leaving the party to join group three. - Yeah.

And then he kind of realizes, you know, how visceral and gruesome that is. So he hides it behind his back. It kind of pushes past everybody and then looks down at Breanna. I don't know if you can hear me or maybe somewhere you can. It's not what I wanted.

- So as group, okay, let's say as the group is leaving, you guys will converge in the hallway. All right. - I think it's best at this point that I part ways from you guys. We never really got along that well and let's face it, we're not going to be able to travel in the same group while all of us are still alive without a knife in their back. I think it's best that I leave with the other group. - And what exactly is the other group doing? - Apparently they're going to try to resurrect Bree. - You're joking, right? - No. - So they're standing right there.

So they would be within earshot of Thoril just to let you know. - Staring daggers, just staring daggers. - I'm not even going to look at Una or Jadci or Fee. I'm going to look at Ironhide. And say, so everything that we've tried to accomplish, I know we haven't quite seen eye to eye, but everything we've actually accomplished because of all the bickering between you and Malchus, you've decided that you're going to leave and join them. - Yeah. - He's dying, you idiot. - Okay, at this point, Duncan doesn't even look at Ironhide. He goes straight over to the members of group three.

And he's mainly talking to Valus and Jadzia. He's kind of ignoring Una because of what happened earlier. And also because of what she just said, where she called Thoril an idiot. (laughing) - Fair enough. - And he goes, I never had a problem with either of you. You helped us fight and you did really well. And I'm warning you right now, you can't trust this guy. Thoril's gonna walk straight up to Una. And he's basically gonna tell her, the reason Brie is dead in my mind is because you put her in this sort of danger. She was perfectly fine until you guys came along.

If you wanna resurrect her, fine. Take her and get the fuck out now. Duncan, although he's small, still kind of like does the, hey bro, back up, kind of thing, like trying to hold Thoril back and make sure he doesn't get too much more invested in it. Kind of calm him down a little bit and looks back at the two that he was talking to before. And he says, I don't think that Ironhide's planning to harm you, but he's not. Other than battle, I don't think he's gonna help you too much. And Thoril's gonna look over at Ironhide as well. And he said, if you wanna join people like this, you guys fit together perfectly.

- I'd like to speak up. - Go ahead. - Well, Ironhide, I for one am gonna be sad to see you go. I wish you nothing but the best, buddy. You know, I've lost a lot of friends since you started this, but you're the first one who took the time to say goodbye. So I hope you get fixed up. And then I wanna look over at Una. Hey, mister, if you get Brie back awake, make sure she knows I didn't mean it. - Of course. - That's all I had to say. You guys can talk to Thor again. - Ironhide's gonna talk to Thoril one second. She died here, fighting with both groups at once.

- She almost died also at the Evergreen when she was with us. - I still say she'd still be in the Evergreen right now if it wasn't for this. And then he's just gonna point at Una. - If you're trying to make me feel guilty, it doesn't fucking work. I already feel all the guilt I could possibly ever feel. That's why I'm trying to fix my fucking mistakes. I see your mistakes all over this fucking landscape. Why don't you get to fixing them? - I'm sorry, could Una have heard that because Ironhide said that he was taking him aside, so I didn't know if- - We were all- - Well, not.

They've just kind of, they've kind of covered up Talia and they're dragging her past the different rooms and everything. They're gonna take her down to the crypt for lack of a better place to store her for now. Nathaniel is kind of floating around the hallway. He hasn't seen Talia yet, but there is obviously something going on and he looks concerned. Like he's trying to peer, like he's doing that thing where you're looking around like trying to peer over people, like kind of standing on his tippy toes off and on and just trying to get a grasp of the situation, like what the hell is actually happening.

So what would you guys like to do? - Do you think we should approach him with a diplomacy check like right off the bat? And I go, I wish I was lying, Nathaniel. I wish your father was a good man and I wish that he did everything right all the time, but he just didn't. - Do me a favor, roll a diplomacy check. - 16, it's getting worse and worse, man. - Stop getting worse. - Here's a question, I do have a question though. Since he trusts Thoril more inherently, would he have to roll a lower check to do this? - It's a lower check, yeah, but you're still using Thoril's basic, like his actual-- - So it's still probably better for me to do it. - Probably, yeah, like he, yeah, you're still telling him awful, awful things.

Everyone that was there wishes they could have stopped it. So Nathaniel's gonna notice the dried blood all over Yenward's horn where it's been wiped off but there's obvious, like without a proper bath or shower, like it's pretty obvious that something gory and terrible happened and it involved Yenward. And Nathaniel being fairly unreasonable, as you might, as you yourself might be in a situation like this, is gonna narrow his eyes at Yenward and kinda walk right up to him.

Now, Nathaniel's big strapping kid, but he's only around like six, three, six, four, somewhere in there, so he's, Yenward dwarfs him. And he's gonna kinda get chest to chest with Yenward and just look, just like stare up at him. And he's gonna try to muster the most authoritative tone he can, did you have something to do with this? - What exactly are you speaking of? - Did you kill my mom? - I didn't kill your mom. Your dad killed your mom. - And he's just, it's a real like hard pill to swallow. You could tell he doesn't wanna believe any of that. Doesn't.

- All right, can I keep going? - Sure. - Are you alluding to this? You know, points all the gore dried on me. - And he's, like you could tell in his eyes, yes, that's what he meant, but like he's not speaking. - Look, I don't have any easy way to tell you this, but it's the truth. This was your daddy using an innocent girl as a shield and me not paying attention to what I was hitting. - Where, where's my father? - I guess this is a good spot for Duncan to step in again. - Yeah, I'd like to look over at Duncan. - Yeah. Okay, Duncan kind of steps in between the two.

It's kind of, you know, like kind of not definitely pushing them off of each other, but just kind of holding his hands up and kind of telling them back off. And oh, 28, awesome. - Okay, so Duncan looks at Nathaniel and says, well, Nathaniel, we gave your father the option of turning himself in. We told him that he should stand trial for his crimes and he proceeded to attack us. We defended ourselves quite a bit. At one point, we even stopped again to try to give him another option to stand trial for what he's done. And he kept attacking. - He was cutting through the room.

We didn't have a choice. - You can, if you'd like to, there were several guards in there that were present the second time that we gave him the option of turning himself in. They can tell you that's what happened. And at one point during the battle, your father pulled our friend Brianna in front of him and killed her. And after numerous opportunities and him not backing down and him continuing to fight and killing our party members, your father's dead too, Nathaniel. - He gives us really hard swallow. He could tell that's what you're building up to. And you could tell that he just didn't, he didn't want you to finish the sentence.

Like it would, like it ended in anything other than he's dead too, it would have been okay. And there are just like, he's not openly sobbing, but there are tears streaming down this kid's face. And there's a couple of times where he goes to speak, like he opens his mouth, but just nothing comes out. - Can, that's exactly what I was, can Thorol kind of just go up and hug him? - Sure. - Yeah, Thorol's just gonna go up and just sort of embrace him. - Nathaniel doesn't even raise his arms. It's, he's just kind of, there's several beats where he's just kind of staring off into the middle distance.

And then he kind of squeezes his eyes tight and just kind of like leans his head against Thorol's a bit. And you could just tell this kid's in a severe amount of pain. Is there anything else you'd like to tell him or, 'cause he's, if not, he is going to try to go see these bodies. - I mean, I know it's not our choice. I mean, should we bring up the fact that he's probably going to, I'm not asking you, Jason, I'm asking the rest of the group. Should we bring up the fact that he's probably gonna be in charge now, or do you think that's too much to put on him at once?

- I think something we'll bring up later once he's sort of processed all this. - Thorol, do you want to maybe go with him to the bodies? - Yeah, yeah. - Do you think maybe all of us should go with him to the bodies, kind of like growing up to this? Yeah. - Yeah. - So that's, so the next thing I'll go, if you want to go see your parents again, we'll come with you, Nathaniel. He just kind of nods his head like very subtly, just like, but quickly, yeah. And he is going to slowly turn back towards the big double doors to Winterhaven Hall and walk back inside.

There is kind of a noticeable blood trail, if you're looking for it, leading from the banquet hall out, out back down the hall and down to the crypt, where they have taken, they've taken Talia's body. So walking down the hall, like he's kind of, it's something he's noticing for the first time. It's standing out and he's walking very slowly. He's walking slowly back towards the banquet hall and there are numerous guards and people kind of floating around. And they're all looking at you guys. I mean, they're glancing at Nathaniel and like they're, it's this thing where they'll meet his eyes and then just go like, "Oh God, that's, oh shit." And just kind of look away.

But the people who aren't doing that are looking at you as a group. And everyone's kind of sizing you up 'cause you were the last people to see both Ian and Talia alive. And as Nathaniel approaches the banquet hall doors, he kind of like stops short and he starts kind of half stepping into the room, like very, very slowly. And let's see here. Wow, he's perceptive as shit, apparently. Ian's body is laying in the middle of this room. It's not covered. There are people kind of floating around, but the body hasn't been moved. His eyes are still open. And Nathaniel's going to kind of approach his father's body.

And after a beat or two, he's just kind of kneel down very slowly. And you can tell he's just like full on sobbing now. - Thoril. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry. I was like lost for half a second. Yeah, Thoril's just kind of sort of kneel beside him and just sort of put his hand in his shoulder. I don't really think there's anything he can say. It's kind of letting him get his emotions out. After a few like minutes straight of just him like sobbing, he's gonna kind of compose himself a little bit and then turn to Thoril. Why would he do this? Why would he kill my mother?

I really don't know. I have no idea why, what would compel him to do this. He's someone that I, your father is someone I was never on the best of terms with, but I'd never suspect him to be someone like this. I never suspect him to do something of this magnitude. We need to at least bury him. And then he's looking around. Where's his sword? - I'll take this. You want me to take it? - Yeah, go ahead. Thoril's gonna look over at Duncan. - And Nathaniel's still on the ground like kneeling, right? - Yeah. - Okay, so Duncan goes up to him, looks him in the eyes and he says, "Nathaniel, I tried to get the sword for you.

"That was my intention, but someone took it "before I could get to it. "Someone that while we were fighting alongside, "I wouldn't necessarily call them one of us. "And she was pretty unreasonable because of what had "happened to our friends, Brianna. "And she wanted to take something from your father "the way that he took something from her. "At least that's how she saw it." I tried to talk her into letting you have it, but I knew she wasn't having any of it. And she has it. She said she was taking it back to where it came from. - I don't know if what you're telling me is true, but he deserves to at least be buried with his weapon.

You're telling me you just let her take it? - We were all in a lot of shock. And she was, like I said, she was very unreasonable at the time. I don't think any of us were in a position to go after her after we had just watched your mother, your father, and our friend die. - What's her name? - I look at Thoril. (laughs) - Una Anhilada, Una Anhilada, that's her name. - Wow, that was cute. (laughs) - Sorry. - You turn state's evidence real quick, damn. - Hey, that's his son, okay, that's blood. That's blood. - Snitches get stitches talking. - Allegedly. You can see a different look come over Nathaniel's eyes now, and this is one of fucking determination.

Probably the most you've ever seen in this kid's face. And he's gonna kinda bowl up his fists and use those to stand up. Like he's gonna kinda plant them in the floor and stand up. And he is going to hurriedly kind of like stride towards the exit of this room. - Okay. - Unless, okay. - Yeah, Thoril's gonna kinda go after him. - Let me, excuse me, I'm sorry. I am too, and as I do, I'm gonna, I gotta say, Nathaniel, stop. - Roll a diplomacy check, please. - 31, it's crit. - Ah, crit. He is going to stop just shy of the exit and turn around and look at Duncan.

- Nathaniel, I don't know if you realize it yet, but Winterhaven needs a leader. - And he's gonna look back towards his father's body. And he's just gonna kinda stare at it for a few seconds. - Yes. Yeah, I know. - I know it might feel good to go out and get your revenge and avenge your family. But I think the best thing that you can do to honor your mother would be to rule this place like she would have. - Your mother was a good woman, Nathaniel. It's, I'm trying to come up with the words. It's not the wisest decision to just go on this, to go completely on emotion.

I know how emotionally you want to do something, but this, as much as I would like to have your father buried with his weapon, it's just something that's not, it's not something that needs to be done with. - The more important matters. - Yes. - Winterhaven needs protected. You realize that while the Warforged have been defeated, Carter's still out there. And there's a reason that we didn't run off with our friends to try to resurrect Brianna like they are. It's because we owe it to Winterhaven and we owe it to the people of Theria to see this through.

I came back from the dead to see this through. - He's gonna take a deep breath. Fine. But that doesn't mean I'm not gonna be looking for them. - And when this is done, you do what you have to do. But for now, it's time for you to take your rightful spot on the throne. - He just kinda has a sour expression on his face when you said that, like that is not, that is the last thing on this kid's mind. I need to go check on my mother. I just, just give me some time and I'll get back to you tomorrow. You're welcome to stay wherever you want in the city. It's the least I can do.

- Promise me you're not gonna go running off trying to get revenge tonight. - He's gonna look at Duncan for a long time. And then he's just gonna kind of nod his head yes. - Then I put up my vest. - If I can ask something of-- - I'm sorry, that's what he does, it's a thing. - If I can ask something of Nathaniel. If where we stay is a bit closer to here and slightly protected because I feel like perhaps there are people who will hear of this news and maybe who don't understand the truth may attempt something. - You can sleep in the East Wing. No one's staying there, there's guest rooms.

And then he kind of pauses and you can tell he's kind of giving something some thought. - I'm gonna be talking to the other men who were in this room when it happened. I really hope that their story lines up with yours. - Duncan looks up and says, "Nathaniel, we're not afraid to stand trial for this. I know what happened in that room and everyone here, I mean, all of us know what happened in that room and if we need to stand before someone and prove ourselves, I'm fully confident that we'll be able to do so." But if you need to talk to other people, then by all means, you're more than welcome to.

- What we told you was the truth, nothing more, nothing less. - He's, again, just kind of staring at you all. You can tell he's half out of it, just zoned out, just not completely there. Probably pretty much in shock and after another long beat, he's just kind of nod his head and then turn and walk out of the banquet hall. Well, I guess you guys are, you're free to stay in Winterhaven here. It's been a long time since you've had a rest. You've had a couple of big battles, so I'm guessing you're looking to maybe get extended rest out of this? - Probably a good idea.

- I'd really love a wash. - I'd be really great. - That's something you can totally... - Yinward keeps a spat of blood on his horns to always, to remind himself. - Just puts it in like a little vial around his neck. It's grim. It almost feels kind of weird, just like watching all the other faces disappear. - It's like the end of Stand By Me. (laughing) - Perfect. - I was gonna say Ocean's Eleven when everyone's just sort of like walking away individually. - Yeah. I was thinking Wonder Years. Next thing I was gonna say was Ironhide died in Vietnam. (laughing) - Keeps like a spot of blood in his little vial, puts a necklace around it.

So he always remembers pretty. I really, now I really want someone to draw like, I want someone to draw like Yinward just like sitting in a bathtub, but like only like his legs and hind end, like everything from the waist up is still sticking out of the bathtub, but he's like got like one of those like back brushes and he's just like scrubbing his back off. - Just a bunch of blood and suds on the floor. - So are we all sharing a guest room or are we all like meeting in one guest room? What's the... - That's up to you guys. - I mean, is there a separate rooms?

- Okay. So I would say we meet up in one of the guest rooms though. Let's say Thor's. So we're meeting up in the guest room, Duncan strumming his guitar, sitting on it. - Just having a party talking about boys. - Yinward's braiding his fur. (laughing) - So what do we do next guys? The whole world's in front of us, but we don't have much of a party right now. - Yeah. And we got about eight different things we're gonna have to deal with. 'Cause I guess the whole Nathaniel being a part of the new head of Winterhaven, that's kind of out of the way, that's something he understands.

Ensuring that our name is clear to something we have to deal with. And that's all on top of the fact that there's still a war going on outside these walls. We still have all these armies gathered together and no one to really keep them together. - And not only that, but isn't he the king somewhere? And I point at Yinward. - I sure am. - Not yet, I'm okay. - Well, I mean, your people, I don't know anything, so I can't say anything. (laughing) I have not been told about all day. So I just know that you're the king. I told him we'd stand trial. That might kind of come in the way of the whole getting Carter thing.

I really hope that he'll let us take care of that before we have to stand trial here, if we have to stand trial. - I feel like it's something. - What? - Yeah, that's something we might have to discuss with him because I assume we may at some point have to stand trial for this. But like I said, we have the standing army. We spent weeks building this army and it's all gonna fall apart if we don't do something soon. - Are they gonna listen to us? - That's something I don't even know. I don't even know if they'll listen to us. They might listen to you. - I wasn't even here when you guys got these people.

- That is the thing. I think if all of us kind of stand up there, I think we can sort of hopefully convince them 'cause I mean, this is kind of what we've been doing since we came back. Like we can't really just up and leave it now. - Oh, we have to see it through. - Yeah. - And then I kind of take a step back. I think we're gonna lose the dwarves. - No level us there. - That was kind of our biggest. - Yeah, they were kind of our frontline guys. - I mean, if I go out there and I mean, I can't talk, I can't, I don't have a good rapport with dwarves, okay? - I'm sorry and I don't know about you Thoril, but I can't imagine they're too funny inward.

- Ian Stone, Sunder have an agreement. He's not going anywhere. - Well, first thing we're gonna have to do is talk to Nathaniel and see if he's even gonna let us do this. Second is we're gonna have to make sure that we still have all these armies with us. What's our move? - I mean, what can our move be? We just kind of have to ride it out, right? - Just barge in, just take our armies and run down there. I mean, I'm for it if that's what you want. - What else is there? Is that a run? - No plan of attack, nothing, just storm the city. - To be fair, we didn't have much of a plan to begin with.

I figured we'd be able to create one, but. - The plan was numbers and we have our numbers. Now it's a fraction. - We kind of need to do something. We kind of need to do something fast before those numbers dwindle. - Okay, so why don't we rest up and tomorrow we'll talk to your son. - Are we gonna address that Thoril? 'Cause he told me that that was your kid. And I haven't heard you say anything about that kid. (laughing) - Just a dwarf, what do you think? - Just like a fucking dwarf. - Thoril's just gonna bury his face in his hands and just be like, let's just back burner this for right now.

Let's just back burner that. - He's right, the kids had a long day. - We'll figure that shit out later. - 'Cause you can always go up to him, you're like, hey, you don't have to worry, your dad's alive and then point it at yourself, right? - Just two thumbs and a big smile like, huh? - Who's got two thumbs and your daddy? This guy. - Who's got two thumbs? - Wants to go for a beer with their new papa. - Who's got two thumbs and made you? This guy. - Who's two thumbs and boned your mom? - Remember that crazy dragon? Yeah, he was kind of right. - Starts crying and yelling and yelling at you like, whoa, whoa, hey, I'm adjusting to being the single father here.

- You're not alone. - I like that we're having this conversation in character. Like that's my... Okay, yeah, let's, it's been a rough couple of days. Let's get some rest. - All right, give yourselves. Oh no, no, no, nevermind. I was, I don't want to give you any ideas. - I feel like I'm having a shit episode. (laughing) - Well, it's about to get more interesting. - See, that's the thing is like, I just was like, oh, maybe I shouldn't suggest that perhaps we were going to get ripped out of our beds in the night to stand trial. - It's about to get more interesting.

- Well, yeah, it's a robot. He doesn't sleep. (laughing) - I was gonna say the one party member you had that would have been able to like prevent someone getting the jump on you while you slept is gone now. - Like nine guys trying to budgie inward. - Stop playing. - Deal with this in the morning. - Yeah, we've got three beds pushed together, just like curled up. - Holding a twin for him. - Awaking the next day. You've all had a nice rest. You've all regained all your dailies, everything like that, which may come in handy in a moment. - Good. - Depends on how you guys wanna handle things.

I don't know. I'm used to group ones diplomacy in quotation marks. There is a commotion in Winter Haven Hall. There's kind of murmurings and it gets more pronounced when you guys exit your rooms in the morning. And again, you've got people who are kind of eyeballing you. You can tell that the words got out and like rumors kind of swirling. And there is one of the riders who wasn't in the room yesterday, that this guy appears to have a higher rank. He is kind of, he is being flanked on either side by two guards and he is charging with purpose towards you.

And he kind of locks eyes with Yenward first because he's the attention grabber. And he is going to walk up to Yenward. - Hi. - Are you part of Malchus Grimnus's party? - Formerly Malchus Grimnus's party, yes. - I think there's a matter outside that needs your attention. - Okay. Just wanna look at Duncan and Thorol like, okay. - During the night, there were members of the Minotaur clan and members of the Dwarf clan. - Oh boy. - We should walk out holding hands, Yenward. - Erebyne and Ivory. - Let's do that, seriously. Reach your little hand. - If you really want to, I'll hold hands with you.

- Reach your little hand. I'll make a convenient couple. - I don't think the dwarves are gonna respect me. I'm a bard. I don't think they're gonna. (laughing) I think I'm a little bit angrier than anything. - If the minotaurs give me any golf, I'll just go, I caught one. (laughing) - So this guy's gonna continue. There was an altercation. From what I can gather, there was an argument about who killed more the war forged or who would have killed more had the fight lasted longer. - Minotaur. - Members of the Dwarven clan and members of the Minotaur clan began to fight each other openly outside of the Winterhaven.

We don't really have much jurisdiction over them, but we can't have them openly fighting it. To be honest, it doesn't look like anyone's getting along outside. We've provided tents for everyone. Most of them aren't using them and have just decided to sleep out in the rain. If there's something you can do to maybe quell this, my understanding is you helped put together the army. - That's correct, yes. - So you have a rapport with these people? - Somewhat, yes. - Anything you can do to quell this situation before it gets completely out of hand would be much appreciated.

- We'll give it a call this try, but... Oh, sorry, go ahead. - No, I was asking if we have a second game plan real quick before we get out there. - Sure, go ahead. - I love how the Taurus and the Minotaur set a dick measuring contest while we were sleeping. - Well, really, what did you think was gonna happen? - I know, I know. - Let's stick the bloods and the crypts outside. - Yeah. - Okay, so we kind of hold together and I go, look, I'm usually the best at this type of thing, but I don't think I'm gonna be very effective here. Unless you want me to scare them, I might be able to do that.

- I'm a bad dude. I can't just... (grunts) - Rawr. - Okay, here's my question. This is out of game real quick. I do have a high intimidate, and even though the dwarves don't respect me 'cause I'm a bard, do you think they might, if I intimidate them enough? Like, I don't know. - No. - Yeah, so. - I got high acrobatics. I'll just do cartwheels to hopefully bring them all together. (laughing) - You know that's right. - I can streetwise my way through. (laughing) - Word on the street is you're gay and they hate you. (laughing) - I almost think it's best for Duncan to just not even be seen at this point.

(laughing) I'm just gonna go back to my room and you guys take it. - He's just gonna go sleep. He's just gonna go back to sleep. (laughing) - You guys got this, right? - I'm gonna take a nap. You guys got this. - A fight between dwarves and minotaurs, this ain't working out for me, son. (laughing) - Neither side likes Duncan. - They're the only two beans in the world that wouldn't like Duncan, and they're fighting each other. And the problem is though that I can't leave because if I do and there's a fight, then it's two on armies. - You have to be any help anyway if it's an army.

- We're talking thousands. Like what the hell? I mean like if this gets heated to the point where they decide to just, like it turns, like it started out as dick measuring. It's like, oh, bullshit, you couldn't. Then it gets like, oh yeah? And then they get up in each other's face and now it's gotten to the point where if a punch is thrown, it's over. There's open hostility. There may have been like a shoving match or two, but if someone decides to draw a weapon and really it's over, like this is full on anarchy. And then the thing is there's other dogs in this fight.

The dragonborn would have a dog in this fight. The drow would certainly have a fucking dog in this fight 'cause the drow hate the dwarves. Fucking hate them because the dwarves dig into the underground and into their kingdom and just take shit. - That's disgusting. That's why I hate the dwarves too. - Gotta figure out a way to keep a civil war from happening right in town. - What you guys have done, what you guys have done is essentially bring the most volatile races in Theria together and then had them have a tea party outside. - And now we're trying to- - Ain't no we, ain't no we here, Jason.

- Okay, I'm just saying, okay, there was a common enemy and like the enemy of my enemy is my friend, but now there's no common enemy. - Basically you brought everybody together. We're trying to keep it from becoming the last 10 minutes of Blazing Saddles. Just- - You know what would be awesome? If we had vampires out there too. (laughing) - Just standing out in the sun dying. - I was about to say the vampires. - That would be an awful night for everybody not sleeping in a tent. (laughing) - 'Cause they would just have thousands of like minotaur vampires, dwarf vampires.

- They're all defecting. - Oh man, Jason, that would have been awesome if you would have done that. - Oh, the vampires really, you know, here's the thing. I don't want to say Justin was right, but the vampires really wouldn't have been a problem as like, they're not going to openly feed on people in the army and they're not, they're really not going to pick a fight because there's so few of them that like, they're not going to fuck with the minotaurs 'cause they're fucking minotaurs and there's thousands of them or, you know, hundreds and hundreds.

But I mean, like they really wouldn't have been a problem. They may have picked off a villager or two. - But from, it was just, I understand that. From an out of game standpoint, I totally understand the reason you have vampires. From a Rod Swell, the cleric standpoint. - Oh no, I don't want to have this argument again. I totally know. Totally understand. - It would have been funny to watch, just walk outside and everything's a vampire. - I've been busy. - Okay, so here's an idea, fellas. What if instead of running out there into the middle of this, you and I point to you, are the kind of leader of the minotaurs, right?

- Yeah, more or less. - They'll listen. - I'm nervous. - Yeah, they'll listen. - And you have a pretty decent relationship with the leader of the dwarves. - Decent's a word you could use. - So why don't we just bring him in here and you guys try to talk to him away from everyone else and see if you can get him to calm his people down and then you can calm your people down. 'Cause if we rush out there in the middle of this, I'd have to stay back and then if there's something breaks out, I won't be there to back you guys up. - So it'll be kind of Dunkin' in the World kind of talking to the dwarf guy and Yennward kind of goes and talks to the minotaurs?

- No, I would say Yennward, I would say just bring him in and then if it goes well, then afterwards, Yennward can go talk to the minotaurs. - That's a game plan. It doesn't have to be a game. - I'm gonna kill him. - Okay, so we approached the captain, we approached the member of the guard, the rider. And does he have a name? You want to give him a name? - Michael. - Michael? (laughing) Lou. - He did have a name, but I think I might go with Michael now. - Michael Easton. (laughing) - Do you know that group one renames more of my NPCs than any other group? And that'll become canon 'cause it's like, well, fuck it, why not?

Just, okay. - So Michael Easton, okay. - Yes, so Duncan goes up to him and he asks his name. - And he tells you it's Michael Easton. (laughing) - Sir Michael, is there a chance that you could possibly get the leader of the dwarves and bring them in here and we can have a conversation with them here? - I can try, to be honest, it would be better if one of you did it. I don't know how well they're going to listen to one of us, but yeah, I can try. - I mean, tell him King Genin wants to talk to him. - We can have Thor go with you if you want. - Yeah, I could do that.

- That would actually be very helpful. And Michael's gonna kind of extend his hand to shake yours. - Who me? - I'm sorry, Thoril. - Just, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll go to shake his hand as well. - Go ahead and roll a perception check, please. - Oh boy. It's a hand. - Okay. - This is definitely a handshake. - This, this, that's a hand, okay. The only thing that you're gonna take in is that his forearms are exposed and there appears to be this large red kind of blotchy mark on the forearm that attached to the hand he's using to shake yours. - Could I do like a religion check?

- Sure. - I don't know if that is or not, but I might as well take a shot. - 11. - Looks like a rash to me. - Probably. - You don't see where there'd be any religious connection to that mark on his arm. - Damn it. - Couldn't he ask, hey, what's wrong with your arm? Can he do something like that? - Sure. - Yeah, yeah, I'll just do that. Just. - Just be like, are you okay? Are you, you know. - Do you wanna know something? - So you just openly ask him about the-- - Yeah, just be like, hey, what's that on your arm? - Oh, it's nothing. I was hoping someone was too one time and the pot fell over and I got burned.

And he's like, how dare you accuse me of being such a fucking lowlife scumbag. - I like the fact that, I like the fact that like me and Tom, so I take it in character. So Duncan and Yinward were like giggling after that. And then he was like, excuse me. We're like, whoa. Like in class when your teacher gets mad at you for talking. - Oh, sorry to insinuate that, sir. I meant no offense to that at all.

- It's fine. It's fine. - Let's go talk to these people before something terrible happens. - Yes, let's. - So while he's gone, can I run a streetwise check and ask around to see if anybody knows what that is? - Uh, sure. - Okay. - Fuck that gross shit on that guy's arm. - 24. - 24. Okay, here's a word on the street. So Michael is a pretty trusted member of the Winterhaven Guard. He normally would be in charge of, he normally would be in charge of guarding Ian and Talia. Unfortunately, he was placed on guard duty outside the night previous, and he was not there to help protect them in any way, shape or form.

Normally he would have been at the very least standing by Talia's side or, yeah, so he didn't. He has a stellar reputation within the city. Other than that one awful thing, and he was just following orders. More word on the street is that you guys, there are some in the city who suspect you all of foul play. That maybe you would have something to gain by murdering the leaders of Winterhaven. They have witnessed you fight each other in the city. It seems that you're all prone to rash decisions, and the word has gotten out that Malkus Grimnus has abandoned the fight and fled the city, so.

- So even though we're knights, we still don't have the greatest reputation here. - God, no, no, not at all. - Especially since we came back. - Right. Yeah, you are, like, you were looked at as like war heroes, and then more and more it's like, this guy's a drunk. Like, he's just a drunk. - You put a statue up for this guy? - Right, exactly. Duncan is still looked at pretty favorably. They still kind of enjoy Duncan, but like you are lumped in with this, it's more like, why are you hanging out with these losers? Like, it's more like that. - Okay. - And we don't, and we didn't get any information about the arms specifically, about the, his hands.

- Not about the, not, not, not, it seems like that story kind of checks out, like, as far as anyone knows. - Pretty much like on the up and up. - Right. - Okay, I see no reason to stop Thoril. - Okay. I'll get ready Thoril. Outside, so the gates open to Winterhaven, and it's these big fucking like steel reinforced doors, with like wooden, yeah. So, they're opening. - I'm just careful what I didn't see. What I didn't notice. - You didn't notice the blade he was twirling in the other hand. - Here comes that knife you remember. That snap in the back. - He noticed the spot of blood, but you don't notice the mace that he's swinging over.

- The separate head he's holding in his other hand. - This Thoril is all alone with no party. This is gonna be interesting. - But that vision that you had, yeah. - Outside, there is a landscape completely littered with dead war forged. Just scrap everywhere. And the bodies of these things have kind of become the plaything of some of the armies. Because when you walk outside, you hear this steady thwack, thwack, thwack. What's happening is the dwarves have kind of started having a bit of a contest with each other, and pulling the heads off of the war forged, and then striking them like a baseball with their hammers.

To see how far they can knock them. - The dwarves are dicks. It's hilarious that they're dicks. - That's so funny. I just imagine they're playing soccer or something with it, but no, that's even funnier. - Yeah, they don't seem to discriminate between the war forged from the Overwatch, or the war forged who were free. They do not seem to discriminate. - Okay, I'm sorry. I want a t-shirt of a dwarf hitting a war forged head when it acts like a baseball bat, and underneath it just says dwarves are dicks. - Or just home run underneath of it. - I want a stone sunder sluggers shirt.

Totally making that. - Yeah, dwarves are kind of dicks. They do not give, they give zero fucks. It's all pretty much, they live by the, like the early American settlers. It's like, well, manifest destiny. If I can take it, it's mine. - I want to see like other dwarves, like out where they're hitting them with the hammers, just trying to like catch them. - So you hear lots of chuckling and laughter and drinking, of course, as they're belligerently smacking these things, and it takes Thoril a second to kind of like, what the fuck is that sound? And then you're watching them like, it's this thing of like, they'll smack one and see how far it goes.

Then they'll kind of like scrabble the little bodies over to one of the fucking war forged, and then just like tug and pull, and then pop, the fucking head comes off, and then they come back and just kind of like, and smack. That is what some of the dwarves are doing. There seems to be a real sharks and jets situation as these two, the minotaurs and the dwarves are almost touching. They have kind of settled down to the point where there are only a few paces from each other, and they're just leering, just fucking leering. And at the center of it seems to be Larys Darkhoof and King Takert Stonesunder.

And it looks like at any second, these two could just charge at each other. Now surrounding, the elves have taken to kind of hanging out by the walls themselves as they're mostly archers and aren't really looking for a fight, they're just kind of like standing. They don't have a dog in this fight at all, as Tom would say. The dragonborn on the other hand are looming ever closer. They almost want a fight to start just so they can leap into it. The drow appear to be kind of hanging out in shaded areas near trees and such, just observing the situation. And everyone else is just kind of sitting on the sidelines.

The people from Don Hurst don't want any part of that 'cause that looks like, they've had enough of fighting what they would be, like bigger, stronger races. They've been fighting the orcs forever, so getting in the middle of a beef between the minotaurs and the dwarves just seems fucking stupid to them. How would you like to approach this? Michael's gonna kind of walk up with you and he's kind of trying to clear his throat, just, no one looks at him. And he kind of does it louder. And out of the corner of both of their eyes, like Stone Sunder and Darkhoof just kind of like bat an eye at this guy and they kind of see Thoril standing next to him, so have at it, champ.

- I kind of want to go over to the dwarves and be like, here, give me a hand, go along. Jesus Christ. Thoril's just kind of just stand kind of between them, just be like, well, we're trying to get the leaders to kind of, like, I don't know, where are we gonna do this, like in front of them or are we just gonna just try to talk to them all right now? - If we were trying to talk to them all right now, we would have brought Yinward with you. The idea was to get them away from the rest of them. - Okay, okay. So yeah, I'll motion towards the dwarven leader.

Fuck, I already forgot his name, sorry. - Stone Sunder. - Stone Sunder, yes. I didn't know if that was the town or if that was his actual name. Sorry, they don't live in a town, they live in a, yeah, they named the mountain they carved out after him. Like that makes sense. Okay, so I'm just gonna kind of call over to Stone Sunder to just be like, hey, can you come over here for a sec? He does not wanna break eye contact with Darkhoof at all. And then after a few moments, he's gonna kind of step out of line and shift over to Thoril, but not break eye contact with Darkhoof until he is absolutely as far away from him as possible.

And only when he gets next to Thoril does he make eye contact with him. What do you want? - Thoril, I'll look over real quick at Darkhoof and just be like, I'll be with you in just a sec. - Darkhoof's gonna kind of give this snort. Almost like you've disrespected him. By speaking to the dwarven leader first, you've disrespected him in front of his boys. And there's kind of this murmuring among the minotaurs like, oh, you see that shit? Like, oh, fuck. So roll a perception check for me, please. - This is, fuck. - Thoril notices none of that. - That's, everything's all right.

- Yeah, everything's just going well. - Come on, motherfucker. - This is going well. - Let's get something in the double digits. The one, I get that one good roll. - 10's in the double digits? - I know, but I get that one good roll and now it's just, oh shit. No, I mean like a double digit roll, not like. - Oh. - And not just a 10, like I want something that's at least a 10 on the die, okay. I understand there's a lot of tension between you guys and I really don't want this to get out of hand because we're all fighting on the same side here right now. Like whatever you guys wanna do to each other after all this is done, I could care less. But for right now, we really need you guys to work together. Like this whole who killed more who or whatever, like it's not necessary right now. - What happened to bringing them back to you inward? There's not a ukulele strapped to your back. - Oh boy. - Duncan puts his head down and looks, looks like he's becoming very like almost subservient.

Just, he goes, bye. And then he's looking, he is judging the shit out of Duncan. Just like looking him up and down. I don't see an ax or a hammer, not even a sword, a dagger, a net, something. - A net. (laughing) He has a crossbow. (laughing) Show him your crossbow. - I can't hear you, Dan. - I'm sorry, Duncan's head stays down. By the way, Duncan has a long sword. I, well, okay, here's the thing. It's right now, like the, the, the, the guitar is much more gaudy. It'll be just like the mountain all over again. - And he's gonna kind of like give just a couple of seconds to Yenward just to kind of like, you get what I'm saying? And then like he's satisfied with it and he's like, all right, and he's gonna get ready and start walking back. - Thorold just wants to make a joke.
