Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason, I'm the Dungeon Master. Going around the table, start with Kelsey. Hey, I'm Kelsey and I play Diana, the Tiefli Mage. And Delmar. Hi, I'm Hundo, I play Delmar. I mean, I'm Delmar, I play Hundo. [laughs] Both of those things.
All of them. And Jake. Yes, hello, I am Jake. I play Draconis, a Dragonborn Fire Mage. Yeah, I'm happy to do this, guys. Let's get started. And Justin. Hi, I'm Justin Massey, I play Jarek Ironhide. And Tom. Hi, my little angels, I play Yanward Firestone. [laughs] Oh, the French Champagne. [laughs] And Dan. Hi, I'm Dan, I play Duncan Joy Batam. [coughs] [laughs] Did you just kiss? Did you just kiss? I'm gonna eat a peach on the air. What was that? So guys, a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... Copyright it. Where else do you... Simpsons did it, Simpsons did it.
Well, okay, if we're stealing from Disney, I'm just saying. Let's do this. Okay. Hey. [laughs] What? Hey! [laughs] Flair's going somewhere with that. Hey. Nope. Just fucking go. Okay, okay, okay. Have you seen my son, Nemo? [laughs] And we almost started. Jason's starting. Last time on the show, you guys defeated King Carter and his bodyguards. You kicked him out a window, essentially. You stormed the gates of the Overwatch, and you have successfully ended a very long portion of this campaign. So, in the process, there was a tiefling bodyguard of Carter named The Red.
Now, towards the end of the fight, after Carter was eliminated, he turned on his fellow party members and then surrendered after they were all eliminated, except for him. So, that is where you guys are picking up. You are still in the throne room. The Red has surrendered. Leora is with you, and everyone else has been completely eliminated. How would you like to pick things up here? Diana is neatly on the floor, and she's going to, like, after a few moments-- Technically. No, no, no. Technically, I'm helping you up. Okay. So, Hondo is helping her up, and she is going to kind of give him a strange look.
She's kind of not sure how to deal with this, kind of like, "What the fuck was that?" But not-- There are more important things to deal with right now. So, then she's going to kind of step away from him and walk towards the ashes of where Theramak was. And she's going to stare down at them for a couple moments, and then just-- This look of rage comes over her face, like, just absolute pure, just hatred. She's going to spit on his ashes and then turn around and smile at the rest of the party members. It's not the kind of smile that's a happy smile. It's the smile that, "Yes, everything's great, and I'm totally not in my right mind right now." It's that kind of thing.
Like a crazy smirk. Yeah. Yeah. I like it. So, what next? So, Duncan's looking around the room, and he sees the body of who he can only-- He still assumes is Una. And he walks over to Yinward and he goes, "Hey, wasn't there a reward out for her?" I think we can get a lot of money for that guy. Isn't her sword like some special sword? Something? Grab her up at a tapestry, we'll take her with us. I'm getting her sword. I'm getting her sword. Okay. So, Duncan goes over and grabs her sword, thinking that it's a-- She has a hammer. I'm going to go grab the tapestry off the wall to wrap her up.
Duncan grabs her hammer, thinking it's a weapon of cord. And Yinward's grabbing it. Oh my god. [Laughter] Liara's going to take all this in, but she has-- She's had a rough month. She is going to slump against one of these statues and just slide against it and crouch down. She's out of breath and she's a bit beat up. So, she's just kind of slumped against this like, ugh. And the wind and rain from outside is kind of pouring into this throne room from the shattered stained glass window. As you guys are wrapping up the corpse of this corpse. Rolling her up like a mob in a rug.
Hondo will say to-- Wait, no one's standing next to me, so he's just going to look at the biggest person? Which I guess would be Yinward? And be like, "Hey, maybe we should tie that guy up." Okay, I'll walk over to the red and I want to just kind of tower over him. You know, he's kind of on his knees, right? Yeah, he's knelt down as a sign of like, "Oh, I'm not trying to fight you." Can I run a perception check to see what he has on his person? Sure. My new pocket's red. 26. The red is-- Do you remember the red-bladed scimitars that a lot of the Overwatch soldiers had?
So, similar to that, but this is a pretty big sword. And on top of that, he has sort of a black polished red inline armor. This guy stands out. He was obviously meant to stand out from the pack and he was Carter's personal bodyguard. This guy was-- That was his job to keep him alive. Sadly, he failed at that. He's a fairly large tiefling. Not huge, but to a human, it would be pretty intimidating. Not so much to Yinward. I want to kneel my face down, like close to his ugly devil face, and I want to say hello. Hey, handsome. I'm not going to hurt you if you're not going to cause any trouble.
We're just going to ask you some questions. If you cooperate, you can take the steps. If you give me any lip, you're going out the window with Carter. Drag him over to the window. Drag him over to the window. Is that something you're doing or are you just-- No, I want you to-- Okay. I think he's trying to drag him. Over to the window, just to show his point, you know? To make his point more potent. Oh, okay. Well-- The point's pretty clear, I mean-- He has to answer me and then I'm going to grab him. All right. Okay, I'm going to grab him by the back of his scruff of his clothes and start marching towards the window.
Do me a favor, roll an athletics check. Okay. To see how intimidating this is, how effectively-- I have a plus 10 to athletics. Ooh, 29. That's almost a crit. I-- So, yeah, this is to make the po-- As if the point wasn't made or you've already kicked someone out of window, like you've already done it. But, yeah, to make the point clearer, Yynward is going to grab him up and push him towards the window. This guy is not going to say a fucking word, but after a moment, when it appears as though you are giving him the option and not just throwing him out, he is going to look up to Yynward and just nod his head in compliance.
He's not-- He's completely fine with the idea of giving you information. Then he'll put him on his feet and kind of dust him off a little bit. Give him a little nod. Diana's going to walk over to where this is going on, just kind of look at him and just-- Who are you? He's going to take a second to compose himself, just-- just-- because that's-- that's kind of fucked up. You just threatened to throw him out of window. And then to illustrate the point-- No, no, let me show you the window. My name is Ardas. And how-- how exactly did you come to be in Carver's services?
He actually has my daughter. The last I saw her was six months ago. As far as I know, she's still locked up somewhere within this castle. Diana's eyes are going to narrow at that. You can see her fist kind of clench a bit. Well, then we will find her. Adagio. Yeah, I was just thinking the lab downstairs might have an idea. Please understand that I wish no ill will against you or your party. No, I understand these men were not the type to care about whether people worked for them willingly or not. Can I come over while he's talking so I can just run an insight check on what he's saying?
Sure. Just on that last part about ill will. 31? Can't lie to me, boy. You're picking up that he's on the level. He didn't want to hurt you or your party, which was probably the reason the instant Carter fell out the window he completely turned on his own party members to-- Genie, you're free. Alright, I'll reach out a hand. I'm just doing a heal check. He is going to-- yeah, so he'll spend a healing surge. He's-- yeah. He's not doing too badly now. Sorry about the ropes. By the way, this whole time, Draconis is still-- he's at the side of the window just looking out, looking down.
So at this point Duncan kind of sneaks up next to-- back up to you, Edward, and goes, "Okay, I didn't really hear what was going on. That's her dad, right?" I think it's her uncle. It's her uncle? Yeah, it's her dad's brother. So it's Malkus and her dad's brother? Yeah. Does he know where Malkus is? I don't know. Because there's a reward on Malkus, too. Do you know where Malkus is? Okay, so he's yelled, "Do you know where Malkus is?" And we're waiting? Ardoss is going to turn around. Before, Ardoss is like, "Diana's just going to sigh, just sigh to the most." He's about this tall, and he's got like a red scary face just like yours and Horns and like the whole thing.
Ardoss is going to look back at Yenward and then sort of glance over to Diana, like, "What is he talking about? Why would I know where? Why would I know where?" They seem to have this idea that all tieflings are related to each other. It's irritating, suffice to say. He's going to take that in stride, like, "Oh, okay, racism. Gotcha." And then just kind of brush it off like, "No ill will." Just like, "No, I get it. That's cool." And then just let it go. So have you seen him? Are you Malkus? Are you Malkus? Because he's traveled through time before. You look like a Malkus.
You look different. Like, bigger. You've been working out? You look pretty swole, brah. I just like that Duncan's yelling like he's 40 feet away from you. Poe's going to run into this room. You can see that he was expecting to run into a fight. You can see him take in the window smashed to all the dead bodies. "Hi, Poe." "Oh, shit." "Sorry you missed a party." "Oh, please tell me Carter was in here." "He was." "He was." "I totally kicked him out of a window. It was so cool." Poe's going to run over to the window to check that out. That's one of those things like, "Oh my god, I gotta go see this." So Poe's going to run over to the window and sort of brace his hand against the wall.
It's a big fucking window and a huge drop. So he's just going to lean over. It's going to take a few seconds and then... "Holy shit." "Right." "So you did it. It's over. We won. That's it. We did it." "Yeah, we won." "And we found Malkus." "Okay, wait, wait, wait, wait. Where's Malkus? You found..." "He's right there. We're all back together like old times." "You helped us win and everything. He's on our side." Poe's just going to arch and eyebrow and then sort of look over to Liara. Liara's just going to shake her head and just like, "Stop. Just let it go." "Isn't this great?" "Um, gang, we got problems.
I... The drow are sort of burning down the city." "Wait, what?" "And then he motions over to the window for everyone to..." "My people, what are you doing? Stop this madness." "And if you look on the horizon, there are multiple buildings going up in flames." "So this is the type of fire we should probably get out?" "It would be great if somebody had an ice spell or something, you know?" "Yeah, yeah, Dracoanis." "And it's raining, you know, ice, sky." "It wasn't daily though. It was a daily. Same day." "It's been over 50 days." "Oh, by the way, yeah, I saw those fires, but I didn't point them out to anybody when I was looking out the window." "Right, that's...
I would imagine Dracoanis just looking up and like, 'Everything looks normal here.'" "Yeah." "Fire is normal, fire is good." "Poe's going to look over to Liara, but say this loud enough for everybody." "They want Marcus. They're convinced he's somewhere in the city." "Liara's just going to sigh and stand up with a grunt." "Just like, 'I just wanted to sit down for 10 minutes.'" "Diana's going to just look over to them." "How fast is the fire spreading?" "Well, it isn't that the fire's spreading, it's that the drow are just sort of cleaving their way through the city." "It's within their right, isn't it?" "It can't be a bad thing." "Look, no one here is rooting for the Overwatch, but a lot of the people in the city are innocent." "They didn't do anything, they're just... they're not soldiers, they're just people. They live here." "They're kids." "Okay, let's go." "Just like the innocents." "Let's go." "We need to go, I agree." "Wait, time, time, time out.
Everybody calm the fuck down. Hold on." "We came here to fight, and now you guys, we want to go out and put fires out? What the hell is going on here?" "We didn't say we were leaving to put the fires out." "We're trying to stop these maniacs, there's kids in the city. I can't let that happen, let's go." "I'm going to assist Ardas in finding his daughter, and whatever other innocents might be locked up within this place." "Wait, are we splitting the party? Seems like it..." "That's what it sounds like." "Poe's gonna speak up. There's one more thing." "God damn it.
I mean Raven Queen, damn it." *laughter* "That was graceful." "And he's going to look over to Liara, but he's going to include the whole group." "I think most of you guys are going to want to hear this too." "We found Rodswell." "And it's just complete blank face, he has no idea what he's doing." "Yeah, Hunter's gonna shrug his shoulders like 'what?'" "Ymir is going to grimace, he's going to bolt." "Dracodas is going to like, 'What do you mean you found him?'" "He's holed up in a temple in the city, he won't let anybody in." "But we found him. We have some people surrounding the place, he's not going anywhere, but..." "And he's going to look over to Liara, I figured you might want to know." "Liara's going to load her crossbow." "And she's going to get ready and make for the door." "Alright, Dracona's going to follow her." "Uh, Duncan's going to call out to her?" "Yeah." "Uh, she'll stop and look back. What?" "Can I talk to him?" "I don't see what's to talk about, unless you're going to kill him, then..." "That man sold out the ravens, he told these people exactly where we were." "He could have killed every one of us." "He sold out your party!" "Still his dad." "He's still my dad." "Wait, what do you mean he sold out the party?
What happened?" "He told them exactly where you were." "He told them where to find you, he told them..." "There are probably still Overwatch troops looking in the mountains for you." "Wait, time, time, time, time." "What the fuck is going on? He's with the Overwatch?" "You guys didn't fill him in on this?" "I have no fucking idea what you're talking about." "He's got a substance abuse problem." [Laughter] "Look, the second he..." "I guess the second he left your party, he must have ran for the city." "He sought asylum here, and he gave them every bit of information he had in order to stay here." "You are shitting me." "I'm going to look over to Ynward and be like, 'That motherfucker's going to burn.'" "Nah." "Liar's going to look over to Duncan." "Duncan's kind of head down, like, you know, he looks almost guilty, but..." "He just looks like he's thinking." "Look, if you want to talk to him, I'm fine with that, but..." "You kind of know this isn't going to end well for him." "I don't expect to get him out of any trouble, I just haven't talked to him in a long time." "Alright, fine." "Liar's going to look over to Ironhide." "What are we going to do with him?" "Let's get him up." "You know what, you're right. On your feet, robot." "I'm going to grab him by the back of his cape and try to pick him up on his feet." "Am I still out at this point, or am I dozing or what?" "Hondo rolled a heal check." "Well, that's the thing, Ironhide was out of healing surges, he's out of healing surges." "If Yennefer's going to physically... even potions wouldn't work." "Because they require a healing surge at this point." "No, no, no, the ones I have, they don't.
They can act as if he used one instead." "Because we haven't played in so long, I don't know if I have any left though." "Because I remember giving one to Liar at the very end of the last session, or I healed her, one of the two." "Oh, Liar wouldn't fucking use anything to heal Ironhide." "Mmm, okay, well, I don't know." "Like, we can't talk her into it?" "Uh, well, here's the thing about Ironhide, I know you guys don't listen to group three." "Umm, Ironhide sort of fucked over everyone on group three." "Umm, Ironhide used Jadzia and Valus, put their physical well-being on the line to transfer his soul into a new body, and then immediately left them." "Valus was impaled with hundreds of metal spikes for Ironhide." "They were like rusty needles." "They were like fish hooks." "Well, that's not too bad, is it?" "It's only a few hundred." "And then after all of that, Ironhide left without even leaving a note or anything." "He just disappeared." "Ironhide was here or anything like that." [Laughter] "He drew those little interlocking S's all over the place." [Laughter] "So, yeah, Ironhide would be conscious now, like he would be, yeah, he would just be at like one hit point, let's say." "Alright, that's better than negative four." "Yeah." "I kinda wanna pick him up on his feet, but kinda be dragging him towards the window, and not letting him walk. But his feet are trying to." "Okay." "Roll an athletics check for me." "Sure thing, honey." "Twenty-seven?" "Okay, that would be against Ironhide's fortitude, so..." "My fortitude is, but, no, it's twenty-six." "Okay, well then he's going to pick you up, you're kind of dangling off the ground, like your toesies are just touching the ground every once in a while." "I would imagine Ironhide's a bit groggy." "Yeah." "I wanna set him right on his feet on the ledge, and I wanna just look him right in the face." "Where are we supposed to go from here, Ironhide?" "Do I have to do a roll to see exactly what's going on out there?" "Do a perception check. You'd have a clear view of what's happening outside if you..." "Not bad." "Twenty-three.
There's a bad storm going on. If you look down, you'd see Carter's body at the bottom." "You would see that there are several small fires dotting the landscape in the distance." "You would see that there is still fighting going on in the streets, although it's starting to die down a bit." "There are people who are surrendering on the Overwatch side, though the news has not gotten to them yet that Carter's dead." "Once that gets out, it's like, 'Why are we fighting? It's over.'" "But there is mass panic and chaos. There are thousands of innocents out there that..." "Aren't doing so well." "To that, not so much the storm, but what's going on down there." "He's going to be content.
That's going to make him feel very content." "The fact that people are paying for what they did. He's just going to have a small hint of a smile." "He's going to be very content. Very happy with what's going on." "I want to peel his helmet off his face and ask him again, 'What are we going to do now, Ironhide?' "And I'm going to chuck it out the window." "Okay, I'm like, 'Yenward, what the fuck are you doing, dude?'" "He has to answer for his crimes." "The whole time we've been doing this, he's hurt person after person after person." "He killed Thor." "And he always told us..." "I know, but..." "Shut up." "He always told us that once we got rid of Carter, we would deal with it." "Carter's at the bottom of that tower, and he's going out with him." "I'm giving you more dignity than you gave Thor, and I'm giving you a chance to kill yourself." "Jump." "Alright, to that he's going to back up a step." "And he's going to say, 'Thor deserved to die.'" "He turned on us." "There's nothing that I would take back on that." "Like, he deserved a sword in the back." "Not by anybody else, but by me." "I had to make sure it was done proper." "At that point, I'd like to grab him by his shoulder and pick him up and turn him about face so he's facing out the window." "And then I'd like to take out my axe." "Leora's going to sidle up next to Yenward here." "And she's going to put away her crossbow." "And she's going to place a hand on Yenward's shoulder just for a second and say, 'Hold on.'" "And she's going to get right next to Ironhide so that they're face to face." "She wants to turn him so that she can look into his eyes." "And then she's going to reach behind Ironhide and draw his sword." "And then look back to Yenward." "Alright, continue." "Oh, it's just her sword." "That wasn't yours.
Go on." "I'm going to look Yenward right in the eyes and say, 'Yenward, don't do this.'" "You can go out with him." "Yeah, Draconis, I just want to point out, while you weren't around earlier, Ironhide was talking about how we're worthless and useless and he's willing to, after this is over, he doesn't need us anymore." "Everything was about after this is over." "What Yenward is saying is 100% right." "Has this been the plan the whole damn time? Is that what you're telling me?" "Thorel gave himself up." "He was going to face what he had to face and Ironhide ran him through for nothing I can figure than selfish motives." "He asked an answer for that." "Oh, Ironhide did fuck up, yes. I know that." "But there's no reason anybody else has to die." "He said I was going where his car is going, this is how it ends." "End of the road, Ironhide.
What's it going to be?" "I'm going to turn around, go to face Yenward." "I'm going to say, 'I killed a member of the group that deserved it.'" "Tell me why Bree had to die." "Leor is going to draw her crossbow and level it right at Ironhide's face." "I want to push her crossbow away, and I want to lay my axe on the ground, and I want to jam a horn into Ironhide's stomach." "Do me a favor, roll an athletics check." "Sure!" "A 26!" "Okay, Yenward is going to plunge his horn into Ironhide's chest and lift his head up with some effort." "And Ironhide is going to struggle against this horn for a few seconds." "I want to keep eye contact with him, I'm just looking up my horns at him." "Ironhide is going to try and pull himself off the horn, you can see him struggling, but the blood running out of his chest is making that very difficult." "And the horn is going to slip out from his grasp several times, and then he's just going to cease and go limp." "I'm going to buck my head and throw him out the window." "And Ironhide is going to fall from this tower." "Draconis is going to scream 'God damn it!'" "I want to look at Draconis, I'm not going to say anything, I'm going to pick my axe up and start walking to join Hondo and Diana." "Hondo's already gone, and me?" "Well I'm falling out, there's one door." "I ran away, so I don't know, I can't..." "Can I shout to him?" "So we're going to solve one problem, or one wrong with another wrong, is that what we're doing here, is that what we do?" "That was a whole pile of wrongs, and I just solved it." "Leor's going to walk up to Draconis." "I know you weren't there for it, but there was a party that helped your group out, and when Ironhide was sick, they risked their lives to help him." "And he repaid them by immediately betraying them and leaving." "Yeah, and I heard they also said Malchus betrayed us too. Nobody, they, okay look, they had problems, Ironhide was a, Ironhide was a dick, okay?" "I know that, I do, nobody deserves what, hmm, I don't know, yeah, I was gone, I missed some shit, but nothing could have been this bad." "Nothing could have happened that should have resulted with this." "This room is going to go silent." "I'm just glaring at him." "Diane has just been watching this the entire time, I'm just not saying or doing anything, just observing." "Leor's going to give this a moment, just waiting for someone to speak, and then, well, if that bothered you, you're not going to want to follow me." "And she's going to get ready and leave to go find Rodswell." "I mean, Duncan like hurriedly follows behind her." "Yeah, I don't want to miss this." "Everyone I guess is leaving except for J'ronas." "And Ardoss is with us, right?" "Yeah, yeah, he's kind of got his own agenda." "He better be, we'll back up that window." "No." "J'ronas is going to stand, like walk back up the window and just stare back out the window." "Watch your step, that's the last thing I say before I walk out the door." "I'm lucky, Inward's a vicious killing machine in this episode, like he has-" "He's been the nicest person ever, and then-" "Question, are we walking down to the dungeons?" "Well, I imagine that's where Diana and the Red, that's where Ardoss is going." "Can we make a quick pit stop to get the thing before we go down there on the combo?" "Sure." "How about Diana breaks away while Ardoss, Diana can break away and go get him." "Okay." "Thank you." "Well, Diana's already left everyone, so he'd be the first outside, so if he grabbed it, then she would be able to." "Just saying." "Oh yeah, so what I want to do, head towards the fire, because that's where he said the drow were." "Yes." "So that's my job, that's what I'm going to do." "Alright." "If I do see his body falling out the window on the way, I totally will go get the gold, but the staff and everything else, it's fine, I don't give a shit." "Okay." "Fine." "Do me a favor, roll a perception check." "I can do that." "You can do that." "Did it come up? Oh, there it is." "Oh, Christmas." "Oh my god, ugh." "You developed a really serious case of pig isle." "It's rain, it's fun though, I'm focused." "Yeah, Hondo's cataracts got in the way and uh..." "Smoke's purple." "Drink purple, you drink it, for the love of god, for the Raven Queen." "Smoke it where I'm from." "Okay, yeah, Hondo's not gonna see anything to do with Ironhide or notice anything.
The storm could've muffled all that, or, you know, yeah. So, it's gonna take Hondo a bit to get through the city to get to the drow. There's panic in the streets, he's gonna have to fight his way through there. The rest of the, let's catch up with Diana and Ardas. I would imagine you're, okay, Diana wants to go outside and find that staff. "Diana's just gonna tell her, there's something I would like to check, I'll be back in a minute, and go outside and yeah." Ardas is gonna nod and just head towards the dungeon. "Something more important than my daughter?
Okay." Well, he doesn't care, as long as it's not stopping him. "She's gonna be back in a minute, it's gonna take five years. Okay, so, approaching the bodies and specifically about the staff, are there any checks I could make?" World of Perception. "Okay." "I wanna tell you about the condition of these bodies." "Let me roll Perception, I really wanna hear how awful these are." "I mean, I'm guessing it should have taken much to see how they're pretty awful." "I want gruesome detail though." "Yenward, did accompany Diana out there?" "Yeah." "Did anyone from the party?" "We're all down there." "Okay, well then everyone else roll Perception." "I'm not there." "Okay, he's still looking." "Looking longingly outside the window." "Yeah." "19, okay." "That's good stuff." "Um, Duncan is really taking in this entire scene while Diana is pretty much looking for that staff, so..." "Where is it?" "Well also, she doesn't, she wouldn't be affected by any of the blood or gore or anything, that's not..." "Right." "She's used to that." "Let's start with Carter's body.
Carter fell back first out the window." "Yay dude." "And it would appear as though, he, picture a belly flop but backwards, he just landed..." "Who's back out?" "Dude, the back of his skull has shattered clean against the brick below." "There is a small pool of blood that would completely surround this body, he is drained." "Picture a bug against a windshield, that is the best way I can describe this." "Ironhide meanwhile, was dumped out of the window off of Yenward's horns and it appears as though he took a header." "Togrady wouldn't wear his helmet." "Ironhide's head is gone." "Oh god." "Completely gone. He's sort of sticking ass up in the air just..." "Is his helmet anywhere to be found?" "That is a good distance away, it would appear as though it hit ground and sort of rolled." "I want to walk over towards it while everyone is surveying the scene." "So for those of you, just to paint a picture, Ironhide's helmet was a portion of his old head." "The old warforged head that he had that was fashioned into a helmet to protect his new skull." "Which is completely decimated." "Both of these corpses are fucking vaguely identifiable and that's, you're going by the fact that you know that you dumped them out the window." "It would be, Carter is identifiable based on clothing and personal effects, dental records I guess you could fucking..." "But yeah, these two are mangled bodies." "The staff is about ten feet away from Carter." "It would appear to be completely intact." "Yeah." "That's good craftsmanship." "Yeah, it is..." "That's a legendary weapon." "It is coated in blood, but it is, other than that, it's sort of a mixture of blood, a mixture of both Carter and Ironhide's." "But it would appear as though that the staff is completely usable and unchanged other than that." "The rain is starting to wash away this blood and it's sort of running into the gutter." "What would you like to do?" "I'd like to get that staff, please." "Alright." "I would like to, I have the helmet now." "Well you're off getting that helmet." "I will." "I'll grab his amulet and the money, but I'm gonna do, I'm with you on what to do with it, we need to use it to pay off the thing." "And he has an amulet of psychic interference, so I'll take that too just in case." "So Ironhide's kind of in a not the most dignified position right now, I'd like to roll him over onto his back and I wanna fold his hands and place his helmet on top of his chest and give it a little pat." "Aw." "What the fuck, you're lucky I'm not there for that." "I don't need to be there for that, right?" "Is there anything else on Carter's body or what's left of it that would be of interest?" "I'd like to loot Carter's body, please." "Okay, well firstly the staff of Unwavering Light." "Yeah, can we?" "Which again, I have described as a greater healing staff, this is something that will amplify-" "What color is it?" "Oh it's white, this is ivory, like top to bottom, well I mean it's coated in blood, but normally it is an ivory staff." "Perlescent is the word I want to use." "Yes, perfect, yes. This amplifies the wielder's healing capabilities and while Diana will do slightly more damage with it, the auxiliary effects of this weapon will give her nothing." "She's not a healer, she's not, so I'm just making that clear, but Diana will be doing more damage." "Yeah, that's all I really care about, also it looks cool." "Okay, wow, okay, that's awesome, you know, it could help our healer, right?" "He can't use a staff." "Well we've changed things before, I'm not making a case, I'm just saying-" "I'm not putting down my other staff yet, like I'm still keeping hold onto that as well." "She's dual wielding staffs, guys." "She's wanted this staff for months." "Fucking badass." "I got my staff, finally, it's been like almost three months." "It's been a hundred games." "It's been four games." "But that's a long time in group one years." "I understand." "It was like two seasons ago." "Alright, Carter himself had a thousand gold on him, and unless you were, well the phylactery shattered, but that appeared to be the only valuables he had on him." "His robes and such are highly recognizable." "I was much less respectful to his body, I just kind of let him splayed out as I went through his pockets." "Wait, you're the one that's going-" "Yeah." "Yeah, he called you." "Okay, I said it first, but sorry." "The staff was like ten feet away, he said." "I know, it's cool, it's fine, I'm letting it go." "Okay, okay, we're all good, we're all friends." "I'm putting my pants back on." "Okay." "Oh sorry, I didn't know I had my mic on when I said that." "Who were you saying that to then?" "Okay, I'd like to go back to Ardas then." "Alright, Diana is going to leave the party here and go back to the dungeon." "Got a thousand gold." "The rest of the party, what's the plan?" "I'm with Liara." "Alright." "Liar is going to start to make her way." "Po is going to join you, and Po is along the way going to fill you in on where" "where Rodswell is held up." "Going into the dungeon area." "Diana, roll a perception check for me." "Yeah, I'm so good at those." "Yeah, you are." "Me and Jadzia, we're really good on the whole noticing things." "It's a mage, like magic users." "It's Diana, Jadzia, and T'an, I see Yenward." "The most oblivious characters on DNR." "Do you remember when we went up to the thing you were looking for Nathaniel and it messed up one roll?" "Yeah." "You staaaaa--" "Even Valus is better at fucking--" "It seems weird, like the intelligent characters that use--the really smart people that use magic, they're the ones that can't notice shit." "Valus isn't dumb, it's just--" "I know." "Let's go on." "Diana's going to look around, not frantically, but she's trying to catch up with Ardasen." "There are--there's this long hallway lined with cells." "And it's not so much a dungeon, more like a zoo." "That's how this is set up." "Oh no, oh no, that's--" "It would appear as though that these prisoners were not kept in the best of shape." "As close as Diana can figure, and this takes her a while to piece together, but it looks like some of these--" "Some of these prisoners were experimented on in some fashion or another." "Being as how the lab is not that far away in the same building." "You're going to see Ardas at the end of the hallway, beating the living shit out of one of these cell doors." "And you're just going to hear--" "Like he's backing up at one point and slamming his boot against it, trying to kick in the door." "And this is just this huge clang over and over, and it echoes and sort of ricochet sound-wise down this hallway over and over again." "And after several repeats of this, eventually he's going to kick the door in, and you can see him frantically run into the room." "Is there any keys or anything nearby?
I mean, I guess that would have been the perception chip." "Yeah, you didn't see them." "Okay, so she's just-- this look of disgust, like nothing-- I assume it's not exactly pleasant that people, especially those that were experimented on--" "There's like no reaction, just disgusted with what has happened here, and she's going to walk down towards where Ardas is." "And just kind of step in the cell and not-- just inside, just to check and make sure that everything's okay." "Give me another perception chip, please." "Holy shit, 18. That's not half bad." "Diana is going to stop at the doorway and see Ardas crouched down, supporting the limp body of a young tiefling girl." "If Diana had to put an age on her, maybe seven or eight?" "Is she alive?" "She does not appear to be moving or breathing." "And Ardas is dead silent, just looking down at her, and after a few moments, he's just going to press her body against her, just cradling her and just sort of squeezing her aggressively, but not saying a word." "Diana's going to take this in and then just look over her face like she's trying to think of the words to say and just--" "I'm sorry if-- I know that there isn't anything that can make this better, but--" "Just kind of trails off." "He's not going to say a word. His eyes are clenched tight, and after a few moments, he's going to speak in a very low voice." "Just leave me alone." "She's going to nod and walk out." "Let's catch up with the rest of the party here." "Let's see." "Hey." "There's probably going to be a lot of heavy shit in this episode, guys, I'm just going to let you know." "I'm about to go into a run." "That got pretty dark." "This is the season finale." "This city's fucked up." "She was like eight years old." "That was-- ugh." "That was so-- I think that might have been the first time Diana's ever apologized for anything in her life, like even though she wasn't really apologizing, just saying the words sorry." "Oh, gosh." "Gosh.
And the fact that it was an eight year old tiefling girl, I mean that just--" "There's going to be a lot of shit." "That was very pointed." "There's fucking riots in the streets and shit. This is not-- this is-- just because Carter's dead, this doesn't stop." "I'm really sad. I like Ardos." "I hope-- I don't know if there's a way to keep him in our party when we leave, but I like him as a character. It's like one more. He seems cool." "Yeah, not a bad guy, just-- you imagine they threatened him with that for fucking months." "Oh, absolutely. Like, all for nothing, all those horrible things he probably did, and she's dead, and it was all for-- oh my god." "Yeah, they're lying to people, like they're just blatantly lying to people, obviously, about how they just don't want people like that in the city, that have no tieflings, elves, dwarves, anything like that, but they're caging them and experimenting with them." "Oh, absolutely.
I mean, like, I assume like the majority of the other people in the cell's also non-human." "Oh yeah, most of them, yeah." "So yeah, that's like she's definitely going to try." "Because they have a straight up-- I mean, they don't even have a policy of arresting people, they'll just murder. Like, that's-- if you steal an apple, they'll kill you." "Yeah." "That's how there's no crime in the Overwatch. No one-- you can't risk it. That's-- let's catch up with the rest of the party here." Deep within the city, you have fought your way through-- again, these streets are panicked, and it is chaos.
The Minotaur, Dwarf, Dragonborn, Coalition are still plowing through the city streets. The Dragonborn have taken their huge body-length shields and are driving Overwatch soldiers down dark alleys, and then pretty much just murdering them. Completely unceremoniously, they are sectioning off-- once they're in the city, it's really tough for the Overwatch to do much about it. The Drowin-- they are systematically cutting and slashing their way through the city, looking for Mark of Sanna, and when they don't find him, they are burning down houses and threatening people to bring him to them, or they'll just keep going.
You guys have reached the very small temple that Poe told you about. Surrounding the area are some elves. He asked them to keep an eye on the building, make sure that he didn't get out, and no one goes in. And when you get there, Poe is just gonna do this sweeping hand gesture, like, "There you go." Liara's gonna try the door, and finding out that this isn't giving an inch. She's going to back up and kick at it. Oh, that's an eleven. Okay, yeah, that's not gonna do much against this door. And she's gonna look really frustrated after two or three of these kicks.
I'll move her away with my forearm. Just move. And I'm gonna feed it a shoulder. Alright, give me an athletics check. Sure thing, honey. Crit! Yeah, and we're just gonna Kool-Aid man through this door. And just burst through the other side. How would Rod Swell react to that? Rod Swell at this point is trying to find any shadow that he can, cower. And, you know, he's cowering. He's scared to death. He's fearful for his life, and he's trying to hide the best he can still. Why you hiding from me, Rod Swell? Duncan comes up in front of you inward, and stands in front of him and just holds his hand up.
Doesn't say a word. I'll take a step back. He looks over at Liara and he just nods at her. She's intently focused on Rod Swell, but she's gonna look down at Duncan after a bit and nod her head and lower her crossbow. Very doe-like eyes. He doesn't look like he's up to anything. He's looking very innocently at her. And he pulls his hat down, like over his eyes, and the room's dark. But he's more illuminated from the back than the front, so his face isn't very clear. And at this point, Rod Swell sees a tiny figure in an overcoat kind of, and a hat. Duster. Rod Swell gets up.
He starts walking more, kind of still hunched over towards the center of the room. They sent a dwarf. Out of everyone that could sin for me, they sent a dwarf. All this chaos out there. That's who they say, "Who are you? What have they told you? What have they told you I've done?" I did nothing. I sent them bad information and I came here to seek asylum. I came here to help you. And now here I am, and I'm after... You get to do whatever you want to me. And they sent a dwarf, not even somebody that I recognize. And then Duncan walks a little closer. And he lifts up his head.
And it becomes obvious to Rod Swell that it's Duncan. Duncan still doesn't say anything. Rod Swell, in disbelief, kind of takes two steps forward, leaning in, looking, squinting his eyes. Then he falls to his knees. He shakes his head. "How are you here? They told me you were dead." Duncan is now more at eye level with Rod Swell, because Rod Swell is down on his knees a little bit higher, but... I got brought back. And I think that I got brought back for a reason. And I got brought back to make things right. And we did it. And we killed Carter. He turns and he points at Yinward, and he points at Liara.
"How could you turn on them? After everything you told me, how could you do what you did?" And Rod Swell has his head hanging, and he's shaking his head, almost like it can't be real. And he looks up at him slightly. "I'm a coward, Duncan. I never wanted to be an adventurer. I wasn't coming for your body. I was coming to tell you that your mom died. I wasn't coming to help you. I was coming to get you back and bring you home. And then when I heard you were dead, I just thought, your spirit came in me, and I just wanted to do good, and you inspired me, and I wanted to do right, but...
I couldn't follow them. Nothing they did made sense. But I was scared. I couldn't do what you did." Duncan looks down at his father, and he goes down on one knee. And he grabs the back of Rod Swell's head, and he pulls it against his. And he says, "Did he kill her?" Rod Swell has a tear rolling down his eye, and he just nods silently. Duncan cradles the back of Rod Swell's head. He reaches down and he grabs a knife out of his coat. He stabs it in his father's stomach. And he says, "Be at peace." And then he lays him down. He stands up, and looks at Youngward.
And he nods his head. We can go now. Leora's gonna visibly tense up when Rod Swell gets stabbed. You can kinda tell she wanted to be the one who did it, but... She's gonna loosen up after Duncan lays him down, and turns to the party, and... Just sort of acknowledges all of it. And she's gonna nod her head and leave with the party. The party's gonna leave this small temple. And Draconis is going to arrive just as they're leaving. Alright, as I walk up, I'm gonna look at him and say, "Did you guys find Rod Swell?" Yup. Where is he? We need to fucking talk. He's gonna keep walking.
Leora's gonna wait for the party to explain, and then, after a few minutes... Rod Swell's done talking. What does that mean? Did he explain why he fucking left us in the middle of the night? Yeah. We got an explanation. Alright, well what did he say? It better be fucking important to turn his back on every one of us. Duncan looks over at Draconis. Draconis? Mm-hmm. My father did what he did because he was a coward. And he paid for it with his life. And it's done, and it's over, and we're moving on. We're not gonna dwell on this, okay? So... How was it done? I did it.
You did it? I did it. How was it done? What does it matter? I did it! Let's go! Did you rip his fucking head off? *sigh* *inhale* He's still the man who raised me. But I killed him. I did it. He's dead. It's over. It's time to go. So are there any more fucking people we need to kill before we leave here? Or are we done? We're done. You sure? Are you sure? Do you want to dwell on it? Unless you want to dwell on it, Jokotus, I think we're done. Liara's gonna speak up to the party. If the drow are done, I'm gonna... I'm gonna see if I can rally people. We need to discuss what we're gonna do.
I... I don't know who we're putting in charge of the city, but... Something needs to be done because these people are in a full-blown panic. So... We're gonna save the city now? Is that what we're doing? Um, Po's gonna speak up. Look, again... There are tons of innocents here. They didn't do anything to anyone. They just... They just live here. We need to find Honda, though. Let's, uh, let's... Okay, let's do... Let's cut back to Diana. Okay. Have I found the keys? Yes. By now... By now Diana would have found the keys, and, um... A majority of these cells are going to contain...
Either dead or dying. Um... A lot of young people. It sort of ranges from the very... The very young, we're talking... We're talking, like, four or five... To people in their teens. For the ones that are in the process of dying, and it's clear that there's nothing to be done to save them, She's going to... Kill them herself. Just end it. Painlessly. As much as possible. And for the ones that are alive, are there any? I mean... There are a couple of elves, and there would appear to be a tiefling. Uh... A male tiefling about 19. Okay. So they look like they're going to make it.
And Ardas is going to, eventually... He is going to leave the cell, holding his daughter, and he is going to march clean out of this dungeon. And unless you stop him, he is just going to keep going. Just outside the building, I'm guessing? Yeah, just keep walking. Okay, she's going to let him go. Is there anything Diana would like to do down here? She would just like to explain things to the ones that are still alive. Just say that the... Right now, the city outside is in turmoil. I would not suggest leaving the building. There are people who will be able to help you once things have calmed down.
But you are free to do as you will. There are better rooms upstairs if you would like to maybe go there to wait it out. The older tiefling is going to just nod after a moment and then march past. The two younger elves are going to hug Diana. Diana is going to kind of freeze. She is kind of shocked on a number of levels. But just kind of awkwardly puts her arms on their backs. Not really hugging them back. But she is making an effort to like, "How do I comfort these children?" She is kind of doing that. Just pure shock and confusion written on her face. After a moment of that, they are going to break away and run upstairs.
Is there anything else you would like to explore while you are down here? If you would like to try one more stab at a perception check. Yeah, I might as well. It's nothing to lose. You got this one. Twenty-three! Holy shit! While some of the large section of this was set up like a zoo, there is a section of this dungeon that is not a cell, but more a stack of bodies. Some of these appear to be failed experiments. Some of them appear to be just the children that have died and they didn't get to them in time. Or they weren't going to bury them in their graveyard.
So there is a stack of bodies. Among them are... There are several tieflings. Many, actually. Numbering in the dozens. Again, they range in age. Some of them have very twisted features. Something was done to them. The Overwatch was doing something. There are some elves. Their skin appears to be darker than normal. Their veins almost seem to be spider-webbed. Sort of an inky black floating beneath the skin. Among the bodies, one stands out. And that is the body of a razor-clawed shifter, which is fairly rare on the mainland. But that's not the only reason why this body stands out.
The reason why this body stands out is it appears to be even more tainted than the other bodies in the pile. It almost appears as though this was a reanimated corpse. The head has been snatched in. The body has several cuts in it. As if someone were cutting the body open, doing something with it. Would it be possible for Diana to roll an Arcana check or something to see what exactly happened to them? Sure. Okay. 22. Diana's going to pick up that the body of the shifter has been magically tainted. Something was done. Something was done to that person to...
She was infected, is the best way to put it. And you're picking up that the elves in the pile that have that inky spider-web beneath them. If Diana were to surmise, they were using the shifter as some sort of source of infection. They were experimenting on these elves to see how well they have a tolerance against this. And it looks as though they were researching some sort of biological weapon. Okay, Diana would like to burn that cell and all of the bodies inside of it. Alright. Let's make this air. Being a tiefling? Yeah, I have a tiefling spell that actually was fire stuff.
Yeah, being a tiefling, it's not hard to set a fire. Yeah. So, I would imagine you're just going to light this cell up. It's kind of lined with straw to kind of catch some of the blood. And unless you'd like to do something else, this cell is just going to go up in flames. That's for that cell. For the other bodies, she'd like to... How many are there, I guess, of the ones that weren't in that cell? Dozens. Okay. I guess, yeah, there are bigger things to worry about right now. So she's going to go and we'll first check on the two elven children. Where's the party at right now?
Are you catching up with Diana? Are you... I don't know, we were following Liara, right? I'm just going to go ahead and miss chicken. That's a Liara question. Yeah, we were following her. She told us to follow her, right? Well, okay. You guys don't usually follow anyone, so I was expecting you to just instantly like, "Bah." I'd follow her. I thought she told us to follow her, though. Right now Diana's plan is to check on the kids to make sure they're okay. Yeah, dude, you just told them to go upstairs and then you set the castle on fire. No, it's just that one cell.
Just that cell, yeah. It's a dungeon. It's the thing on the stone. Yeah, that's not going to spread, really. It's all stone and shit. I just stopped a potential zombie biological weapon, hopefully. It's that wizard who's still out there. But yeah, so her plan is just to go check on the kids to make sure they're okay. Maybe see if there's anything she can do as far as setting up defenses, though there's not much. And then let them know that she's going to go, but she will be back and stuff. But yeah, that's... Then leave and find the rest of the party. All right.
These children are, as you can imagine, pretty shaken up, but they're safe for now. They've kind of sequestered themselves in their very nice rooms in this place. Is there any food around that she could bring them or something? Oh, yeah. There's food everywhere here. It's very nice. Very cushy beds. It's warm. They're protected in that there's no one storming. You guys were the only one storming the castle, so that's over now. So you could bring them food and extra blankets and pillows because she does not know. The kids, it's warm stuff, maybe. Yes, let's do that.
Also, could I roll a perception check to see if there's anything shiny or valuable, maybe? Just decide, no. Anything Robby looting? My perception is shit, so it's probably not going to turn out well. Go ahead. Ten. Yeah, see? Diana doesn't see much of value in this. She's focused on the kids, though. Exactly. She tiptoes over piles of jewels. Yeah. Shut up. I keep finding these shiny rocks. Get out of here, shiny rocks. Slipping on these shiny rocks. Emeralds and shit. She might also, if there's any knife or something, leave that with them, just in case. Can I give the kids a knife?
What? Yeah, here's this knife. Enjoy. I'm going to play with this. Let's be a teenager. They're teenagers. They're like 14. Yeah. It's even worse. They're just something to defend ourselves. This isn't like lonely, bored suburbanite kids. These kids have been fucking locked in a dungeon and experimented on. These kids are, I mean, they know not to stab each other. Well, Kelsey, you happen to be carrying an extra staff now. Yeah. But yes, because they're going to be able to use that. Maybe bomb them. About as well as you are. No. No. I don't get it. You're not a healer.
But it has other problems. Okay, we're not dealing with this anymore. It was a joke, dude. I know. But not to Kelsey. She will defend that shit. Okay. It was a joke. Let's have Diana catch up with the party. Liara is going to be standing in the middle of the street surveying this absolute fucking chaos. And with a lot of the Overwatch soldiers dead, she's going to start to pull in people from around their group. So she's going to start getting Poe to spread the word that Carter's dead, this is over, have people surrender and stop killing. That is the first.
That is the absolute first thing. Now, Liara is not exactly a take charge character. But if something isn't done quickly, this entire city is going to be a fucking ghost town except for the army that invaded it. And that is unacceptable. So she is sort of switching gears and she's going into authoritarian mode. And Poe's going to take off running and start in on this. She's going to turn to the party. Okay, we've got to get these fires out and we've got to make sure that these people stop. That the fight's over. There's nothing to defend here. Would you like us...
The city seems to be in some disarray, but after we put out the fire, should we address the people perhaps? She's sort of looking around like, what is the first thing that we could fix? I don't know what we're going to do with the fire. I don't know how we're going to put the fire out. Jaconus isn't good at putting fires out. He doesn't understand how that works. It is raining. Well, the rain will take care of the fire as long as we stop setting new ones. That's the problem. Oh. Hey guys. Yes Duncan? Should I play a song? I can play a song. I want to know. Put the fire.
No, to get people to stop starting new fires. Burn down. Oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain. Somebody call 9. Sure you've. In the middle of all this, it's like the Berlin Wall coming down. Duncan just stands up on the stage and plays Wings of Change. I've been looking for freedom. Is that a diplomacy check? I want to clap my hands over my head. Is Duncan playing guitar at the... I was about to say Duncan recovered from the death of his father pretty quickly. Shit. Oh. Sorry, my headset came unplugged. I didn't hear your response. Is that a diplomacy check? I guess.
I mean you can. Okay, look. I'm joking. We need to. I was about to say that tone is complete shift. Like this. Okay. The hour is going to sort of snap too. We should probably get to as many of the soldiers as we can. There's no point in them fighting. They need to know that. And just looking out at the city, this is mass chaos. If there's a way we can get the word out quicker, we can't run up to every single soldier in the city and let them know. I wonder, does anyone have a spell that amplifies voice or something? The only thing I have is ghost sound. Yeah, I have ghost sound too.
I have a big horn. I can blow this horn. You do have the horn! Do it. I do have a horn. Everyone's just going to hit the dirt when they hear that thing. I was about to say, you guys really think that's an option? It's totally an option. Was there a place that... Wait, we don't know that. Hold on a second. I want to ask you that. Was there a place that Carter used to address the city? We could get everyone's attention and look at Draconis and the horn and then address them, perhaps? We can go back up to the window. That's a little high. That's the problem. We can get a megaphone.
There's absolutely a place where Carter addressed. That's exactly what I was thinking about. Let's go there and blow the horn. Wait, as the party, how will we logically blow the horn when we think the dragon will come? Because we don't know he's dead. Well, the horn was forced to come originally, and there's a year where he doesn't have to obey it. So he's not going to come. But do we know that? It's a logical guess that Diana is making, and she's pitching to the party, I'm guessing. Should I roll a history or a cane or something? Roll a history. Boom, 27.
Too bad we don't have Thoreau here. He knew all about that horn. Yes, he did. Diana would fill the party in on what... This is a logical guess that she's pitching to the party that because Strahd has already been summoned, he can't be summoned twice, so he's pretty much a dog off its chain for the next year. And Draconis already knows that? Is that for sure? Does he know that? Yeah, that would be part of his Dragonborn heritage. He would kind of know. Okay. Well, I guess I would back her up on that then. I'm like, "She's right. It wouldn't call him that I know of." As long as we know that, I have no problem with it.
How cool does Draconis feel right now? He's holding the Dragonborn's equivalent of the Declaration of Independence right now. He's like Nicolas Cage right now. I'm not that cool. I'm not that good. You're close. You are. You're right there. Check the back of it and see if there's a treasure map. It says "Made in China." China! Treasure in China! Let's go. Let's catch up with Hondo. Hondo has made his way deeper into the city. The drow were not hard to find. Just follow the path of destruction and burning buildings and the noise and you will catch up with the drow.
So how would Hondo like to approach these people? I'm going to try and run up to the front and look for their leader. Okay. Oraclad would not be hard to find. She would be the one definitely leading the charge. She is also the most vocal of these people. So I would say Hondo... Roll a perception check, but this would not be a very high check at all. Alright. Okay. 18. Yeah. So yes. Hondo would definitely spot Oraclad. She is in slightly different armor than anyone else. The drow tend to wear very dark armor. They blend in with the knight. They're almost... They're almost freaking ninjas to be honest.
They are fantastic at ambushing people. Specifically if you were to go underground and find them. Nine times out of ten they will get the drop on you. You will not get the drop on them. Sort of like a burglar breaking into someone's house. And if it's dark, the person who lives there would have a better layout of the house even in the dark than the burglar. Weird analogy, but that's the one I'm going with. What would you like to do here? How would you like to approach her? Okay. I'm gonna... Hondo runs up, slides in, still raining, spits the rain out of his mouth.
And he's like, "Maitreyaar!" This is all in elven by the way. Ora's gonna stop yelling to her people here. They are in the process of burning down anything. They're looking for Marcus Ani. You can hear her shout that to her people. They have a description of what he looks like. And they are pretty much just searching every building until they find him. So she's gonna stop what she's doing. And she's going to cock her head towards Hondo. What? You gotta stop. You don't understand. All of this... it ain't worth it. I don't know what exactly you're looking for, but you're hurting a lot of people.
A lot of people are gonna die if you don't stop. Who are you? I thought he was gonna take a big sweeping bow. Still trying to catch his breath. Hondo. On load of vets. It's a pleasure. She's gonna take you in. Just sort of assess you. For a drow, you look a little... let's say funny. Strange. A tiny bit, yeah. Drow don't normally wear fucking suits. And your skin color is a bit different than what she's used to. Sort of a bronze color to it. After a few seconds, why do you care what happens to these people? To be honest with you, I don't really care about the people.
It's the children. You gotta understand that there are innocent kids here. And all those burning buildings you're leaving in your wake... You're leaving behind dead bodies. Ora is going to step very close to Hondo. Not in a threatening manner, but more authoritative. Why should we care what happens to their children? They murdered countless tiny drow. They felt nothing for our kind. And I will kill everyone in this city until I find the man responsible for it. And you think by killing everybody in this goddamn city, that's gonna make those kids come back?
Look, I understand that you lost a lot, and there is no excuse for killing a child. But you gotta understand that this is not the answer. Do me a favor and roll a diplomacy check. Oh shit. This is only Belvin by the way. Do I get that +2? You get a +2. It is an elven. You're a drow speaking drow language. Ooh, 24! Cause 22. Yeah, 24. Okay. I tried. And what would you have us do? Just let this person get away? No, God no. I say we hunt the bastard down. But you gotta stop this senseless violence. This is not... Mother, this is not... this is not correct and you know it.
Roll another diplomacy check please. Oh God. She is... she's giving this thought. But again, this is a woman who is very set in her ways. She has a certain way of doing things that drow don't like to show weakness. And this is... this is obviously a huge deal for them. How would you suggest we go about finding him then? The guy, the one in charge, Po. Liara, they gotta know something, right? So we go talk to them, we find this guy and we deal with him. And I say we because... I'm with you. I'm... I'm... He's gonna look at the ground and he's gonna look back up.
I'm one of you. Do me a favor, roll a perception check. Or a diplomacy. She's going to lean into Hondo and lower her voice a bit. You are not one of us, Drow. Though I do believe you are sincere about finding this man. If you believe you can take us to someone who can help us do that, then fine. We'll stop our search for now. But believe me, we are not leaving this city without him. I understand. And at that, he's gonna bow and just like move out of their path. She's going to call out to her people. Stop the search. And she's going to bat her eyes over to Hondo.
This Drow says that we have a leg up on finding him through another means. And they are going to break off from burning these buildings and searching these houses. And they're going to pull in close towards Ora. They're going to start... They're going to resume just attacking soldiers. Which is still violent and terrible, but they're... It's people who at least can defend themselves. And as she walks past Hondo, you had better be right about this. I hope so. He's going to show her a smile and then he's just going to stand up from his bow. And then he's just going to shrug.
She's going to give just the slightest of nods and just move on. Are we up on the... Did we actually travel to the place? I would imagine that you're traveling there now. So this is, again, the entire time you're making your way, there's sort of a stage. The way the city... Acoustically, this is meant to echo outward. Alright, so we're up on the stage. I'm going to look around at everybody and be like, "Listen, once I do this, there's no bullshit. No fucking Thoril shit. Are you ready?" Let me try something. Cut my hands or mouth. Or, "Eri, listen up. Stop." Roll a diplomacy check.
Watch him crit. Thirteen. Two crit for Yennard. What's up, Yennard? Oh my god! No one stops. The city is completely plunged into turmoil and chaos. No one stops what they're doing. There are people fleeing and running. There are houses still on fire. The Dragonborn and Dwarves are marching down the streets. It's actually sort of scary. The Dwarves are more scattered and they're just itching for a fight. But the Dragonborn and Minotaur are a bit more uniform. The Dragonborn specifically. They are marching in blocks down the streets, holding these huge shields and easily repelling arrow fire.
It's goddamn frightening if you're on the other side of it. Because they appear to be nigh indestructible. I already gave it my best shot. Go for it. This looks bad, guys. Alright, Draconis is going to reach down and pull out the little... Well, I got it basically tied to my little robe, satchel kind of thing I got going on. I'm going to pull it out and I'm going to look down at it and say, "Let's see how loud this shit gets." I'm going to put it up my mouth and fucking let it rip. A deafening blast is going to sound from this horn that vibrates through the city.
Everyone is going to stop dead. Now, the realization crosses about half of these people. People who are a little more learned know their history. That should summon a dragon. A lot of these people are just going to hit the deck like they're going to stop dead. The rest of them, the dragonborn, are sort of unflinching. This is more of a, "Bitch, did you just blow that horn?" It's more a disrespect thing. That is not a toy to be played with to them. That is a part of their cultural heritage. Let me see if I can quantify this. That is like a white dude picking up an Indian headdress and like, "Hey, really disrespect." It's like, "Dude, not cool." To them, you blowing into this horn a second time after Strahd has been summoned, that is not cool.
Everyone else is going to stop dead in whatever capacity. Some people are more panicked and crouching like hiding. Some people are just looking to where the sound emanated from. But you have everyone's attention. Alright. Is everyone staring at me? Is that what's happening? Diana will step forward. I don't know how far this is going to go out as far as sound-wise, but people will pass the word, I'm guessing. Is there anything we could do, Jason? While you have their attention, you beginning to speak, I would imagine you're going to elevate your voice. It's going to get people's attention, and you have a few scant moments to get the message across that, "Please stop fighting," firstly.
And then whatever you say after that, we'll do a series of checks. We'll do a skill check challenge, and we'll see how many-- Can I just do diplomacy checks? Well, yeah. I mean, this is what you're doing. Okay, okay. I thought you meant it was like the "Disparable Flat D20." I was like, "Okay, for that diplomacy check." No, God, no. That would be terrible. Okay, that was really fucking-- I was like, "Don't take this thing." Okay, so Diana is going to step forward. Put down your weapons. The fighting is over. Do not fear people of the armies. You will have your reparations, but we all deserve some part of that, and as a whole, we need to decide who gets what.
That will come later. World of Diplomacy check, please. Here's what we're shooting for. Twenty-four. Okay, we're going to shoot for four successes before two failures. Okay. That is a success. Keep going. So the dwarves are going to be the toughest ones to win over here because it's like, "I want to hit them." Like, they're--yeah. But the elves aren't going to be--you've won over the elves. They're not going to--they're in tight with the ravens anyway, so they were pretty much of the mindset. It's like, "Okay, that's not--" So the elves have stopped fighting, and the people of Donhurst are joining them.
They're lowering their weapons. They're not attacking anyone or anything. Okay. I'm going to continue on. I know what you feel at this. I can feel the rage and the hatred that burns through all of our veins, the need to destroy and eliminate what is left of this place that caused so much damage and death. But we must be better here. We must not become like Carter was to us. And if we promise freedom for the world by destroying what's left of the Overwatch, then we must uphold that. Do me a favor and roll a Diplomacy check. Thirty-three. The Dragonborn are going to kind of tuck their weapons back behind their shields.
They don't appear to be attacking anyone. Keep going. You will have your due vengeance. You will have what is deserved to you. But to destroy needlessly is not that. You deserve greater. You deserve something that can truly attempt to cover what was lost to us. Though there is nothing that will ever truly do that. Destroying and murdering more is not going to help. Another Diplomacy check, please. Thirty-eight. That's a crit. Good lord. So Diana's building up a head of steam here. She's getting into her own speech. The dwarves are going to knock off what they're doing.
Is there anyone left that's of the armies? The Minotaur. I got this one. Guys. Okay, go ahead. Bro. Come on. Come on, dude. Dude. The Drow and the Minotaur are going to be the hard sell here. The Minotaur, not for the same reason as the Drow. The Drow don't give a fuck about humans. They, specifically the people here. They don't really have anything deep-seated against humans, but the people of the Overwatch have murdered their children. They've, I mean, they, you know, yeah, that's not good. The Minotaur are of the mindset that they could take this city. They could just take it and have it.
Yeah, they could. They keep going, then. Good luck. Now I'm nervous. Thanks. But people have begun to gather around the group here in Diana. The more, the longer she goes on, the more people are sort of getting closer to the stage and they're listening intently. This is your William Wallace moment. What they did to us, what they did to you, was unforgivable. And it will never be forgotten. But we do have homes to return to. Or homes to reclaim. We do have places where people are laughing and smiling and we can return to that. And there are perhaps things and people here that may be willing to help that.
Or perhaps, if not willing, we will take what is needed to rebuild the world into a place that can once more be somewhere that you would want to live. By destroying and killing, we are only creating more death, more anger, more hatred. There are better things to be doing right now. Do me a favor, roll another diplomacy check. 26. The remaining holdouts are going to stop. And these Overwatch troops are going to openly surrender. There's obviously nothing. The city is taken. It's over. Okay. Diana would like to address the people of the Overwatch now because that was kind of to the army.
She has something left to say if that's okay. Sure. Okay. People of what once was the Overwatch. Your king is dead. The tyrant, Zanin Carter, has been slain. And the walls he no doubt promised you would hold have fallen. No doubt some of you are distraught by this. No doubt some of you are shaking in fear and anger as you watch the peaceful, crime-free lives you have had for years being subsumed in the chaos of battle. How can this possibly be good, he may ask. How can these invaders call themselves benefactors, call themselves heroes. You must understand the cost of the fakade you called peace.
You must comprehend each and every one of the thousands of innocent lives that were murdered for you. For while you sat here ignorant behind your walls, your sons and daughters were burning our homes. While you remained safe, your armies carried out genocide. While you laughed and lived, your leaders were ordering the slaughter of our children. Tell me, could you look into the eyes of each and every one of these people and explain to them how your need for ignorance and peace was worth more than their lives? Now is your chance to wake up. Now is your chance to prove to us that you can be something more than the reason our families are dead.
You were made alive because we refuse to be the monsters you have been to us. We have freed you from the yoke of tyranny. Do something with it. Long live freedom and long live justice. Do me a favor roll a diplomacy check. It's another crit. Seems appropriate. Well with the last roll you passed the challenge. The fighting is over. That roll was to see how well this transition is going to go initially. That crit is going to go a long way into a peaceful transition. Obviously these people aren't trying to... you've won. There's nothing they can do and fighting you openly in the streets.
Now you haven't beaten racism as a whole. I mean that doesn't mean there isn't going to be some holdouts but that is going to go a long way. The armies are actually going to start to work together to put out these fires at the very least. And that is a first step in trying to return this city into some kind of order. Let's pick up a few hours later. Could I check on the elf kids though? Yeah sure. I was going to ask what would everybody be doing a few hours later. The fighting has died down. It would appear as though the immediacy of the situation has died down a bit.
These people, I don't want to say subjugated, but they're a lot more passive about this. There's nothing they can do. The fact that you had the opportunity to slaughter the rest of their army and you didn't, that has gone... They've surrendered to their fate. Yes, that has gone a great deal in pushing this forward peacefully. Is Nathaniel still outside town? They've actually... You would have known by now that the elves are escorting him back to Winterhaven. Okay, so he's not even there. Yeah, he is in no shape too. If Hondo's back, she's probably going to tell him there are a couple of kids that were still alive in the castle and I had them remain there until the fighting was over.
So if you seem to have an... I was going to say interest, but that would have sounded weird. It's strange fascination with children. What's wrong with you? Yes, exactly. If you would like to accompany me, I'm going to go and ask what they would like to do. Should I lead them? If Hondo wants to come along, we'll go and... or the rest of the party too, if you guys want to come. So Diane is going to tell the rest of the party to hold back and call out before she reaches the side of the room, "It's me, I have returned." And then walk forward into the room. So the older tiefling boy is... he's in the back of the room.
Not that he doesn't get along with the elves, it's just he's... That's unfortunate. More keeping watch, I guess, is the best. And the younger elves are going to welcome Diana as soon as she... They're a little... so they hear a knock at the door and they're a little like, "Oh shit, is this it?" Oh yeah, that's why she called ahead. Yeah, so they are going to welcome Diana as she walks in the room. And Hondo's there as well? I think Diana will wave Hondo in just the two of them. At some point she might wave at the party, but these kids have been through a lot, so it's probably best to keep it just to the two of them for now.
So, Diane's going to wave Hondo and like, "This is a friend of mine. The fighting in the city has now stopped, so it would be safe for you to leave if you wish. I do not know if there's anywhere you would wish to go or anything you would want to do, but if so, I for one would be willing to assist you in that." So Hondo's going to look over the kids and then he's going to open his jacket pocket and then he's just going to take out these small little dry, different multi-colored pieces of flower petals. Then he's going to strunch them together in his hand and he's going to open his hand and it's a little rose and he's going to give it to one of the kids.
And then he's going to pan over and look at the kids and he's going to run heel checks on all of them just to see if they're all right. Yeah, that's a good idea. These kids are as healed as they're going to get. Okay, cool. Considering their circumstances, they're doing fairly well. Also, can Diana ask what their names are? The two elves are actually sisters, Gia and Tith. The tiefling in the back's name is Kareth. And again, they appear to be, I mean, mentally, they're still quite shaken and time will tell if they can recover from that, but physically they appear to be doing pretty well.
Okay, and it's the tief... is there anywhere that you particularly would like to go return to from here? Um, Titha's going to speak up. She's the slightly older of the two. We don't really have anywhere else to go. God. Break my fucking heart. Wait, what's the one that's speaking? What's her name? Tith. Hey, kid. Tith, right? Come here. I was going to sign up for your close-up. Listen, I can only guess a lot of bad things happening to you here, but there's still good people in this world, all right? And if you need a home, if you need somewhere to go back to, you can come back with me.
And Diana, and the rest of these guys. We got a little place in Durnahal. Have you ever been to Durnahal before? No. It's pretty cool. Bunch of other kids, you know? Uh, they live there too, so you wouldn't be alone. And if you don't want to come with us, there's a elf lady we know. She's real nice. Maybe you could stay with her. Diana's going to nod. There are the other groups in the city that came here to overthrow the Overwatch. There would likely be some among them who would be willing to take you in if you would desire. Tith is going to look at her sister, and after a few moments, Durnahal sounds nice.
Diana's going to turn to the tiefling. Carith doesn't... he's not as excited. Yeah, I... Definitely not as excited about this. Elves can go... Yeah. Not anywhere, but they can go a wealth of different places. Tieflings are... Diana's very aware. Tieflings are not as welcome. Yeah, Hondo's going to walk over to him, just like, look him dead in his face, like, looking in the eyes. And he's going to reach out, just to see how he reacts. Carith is going to reach out and shake Hondo's hand. Okay, Hondo's going to smile back. Then he's going to... his hand on his shoulder, just going to walk over to the corner, away from everybody else.
Look, kid, I'm going to level you. I did a lot of bad things to you here, I can tell. And to be honest, your people, your race, they're not well looked upon, alright? I promise you, I'll get off your protection, and I could give you a chance to make yourself a bad man. I don't know what it is you want, money, family, love, whatever it is, kid. I promise, I can help you. Trust me. Carith is going to look over at Diana for a minute. I imagine Diana's kind of giving a dirty look towards Hondo. No, she's not giving a dirty look. She's... No? Okay, just... I mean, she had a slight half-glare when he looked at him back, but then dropped it, and she's just more observing, and so he's looking to her.
Just a moment, and then down at the two elf children, and then he's going to look back to Hondo. Yeah. Okay. You are free now. I know very well that that could be a bit unsettling, especially considering what you have gone through here. Your lives are your own to reclaim now, however you may wish to do that. This is a really heavy thing to lay on kids. That's a really heavy thing to... Don't tell them that! Your freedom is your own. You can be your own. No! You're coming with me! But they are! Damn it! Well, they've already decided they are going to. Yeah, exactly.
She's trying to bolster them. Yeah, I can see. Yeah, for the free to choose to do what... to live with like this is like they're not... Freedom is only... freedom and choice is only illusion. Okay. Unless there's anything else you'd like to do with them, I would say that... They're coming with us? Yeah, General, just meet us. When this is all over, just meet us. We'll take you to... Don't holler. Is that what's going on? Are you guys walking out towards us with three kids? Uh, yes. Yeah, pretty much. Alright, Draconis is going to cock his head to the side a little bit as you guys come walking out.
And I'm going to like nod to him and say, "What's going on here?" They made baby. *laughter* Oh, that's how that works. How does he put his head in his hand and just point to the kids and just try and introduce them like... Just go along the line. Inward. Okay, just say everyone's names back and forth and just... these... they are going to be traveling with us until we can get them to a safe place. What time? What the fuck do you mean they're going to be traveling with us? Like through the city while all this is going on? Listen, this is Draconis. You don't gotta worry about it, alright?
They're fine. They're with us for a little while. Look, I don't agree with Draconis too often, but next time you're going to bring in three kids, can you at least tell us what's going on before you just run off and come back? I mean, I don't mind taking care of them if they need it, but... Are we babysitters now? I don't understand. Gia and Tyth are going to be clinging to Diana, like hiding behind her a bit. Diana is glaring at Draconis. She is like... Draconis, you just simmer down. They're kinda cute and stuff. Hi, and will hold out my fists. Anger is an emotion that she's comfortable with and she's just like...
You left me hanging. Well, I was waiting for Diana to speak if I didn't want to. Sorry, sorry. It's okay. Are you offering them... are you offering a fist bump? Yeah. So, Gia and Tyth are both going to reach out, each one of them grabbing a different fist, but kind of reaching out with the palm of their hand and just kind of grabbing onto a couple of Yenward's knuckles and just kind of like holding their hands there. They don't really know what to do, but the physical contact is kind of comforting. It's like, okay. Yenward's a big fluffy thing. He's comforting them.
Right. He has a gentle tone about him and it's apparently he's not using those fists to punch them. So it's, yeah. I don't want to, like I said, I don't have a problem doing it. It's just you weren't here the last time that this party, well, no one here was here last time this party had a kid travel with us. Watching over kids makes this a little bit more difficult, a little bit more intense. I don't know. I just, for their safety, I don't know if it's the best thing to take them out there. We won't be taking care of them. We won't be what? Once we hit the road, we don't know what we're going to be, Diana.
And if it comes to that, we will protect them. But as far as I recall... What do you mean we will protect them? Look, look, look. Duncan, Draconis. I don't know why this is such a big problem. He does not necessarily mean to... Look, Draconis, Duncan. I don't know what it is you have such a big problem with. These kids, all three of them, they're in our care, both me and Diana. We won't let anything happen to them. We don't care for your help, we don't want your help. Alright? If you feel that you are so inclined that you do not want this, that's absolutely fine.
I'm worried about their safety, Hondo. That's it. Okay? Because we don't know what's outside these walls yet. That's all I'm worried about. I don't want to have to get out there and then suddenly, not only can we not defend, you know, we're going to have to... If we lose these kids, that's on us. I'm fully ready to take care of it, but I just don't know if the timing's great. Diana's... I promise these kids that I will lay down my life to protect them, alright? My life. You don't even know these kids. It doesn't matter. What are your names, kids? Okay. They are petrified of this event, because Draconis is huge.
I mean, Draconis is a big, scary-ass dragonborn. Duncan, not so much, but Yenward would be one of the most intimidating creatures in the entire room if he weren't so goddamn soothing, so... He's easily standard-healed and yeah. Does this horn still have blood on it, by the way? I'm just wondering. We're covered in blood, guys, but they've seen enough blood. They're not going to be affected by that. Blood doesn't exactly... I mean, it's not soothing to them, of course, but they're not... That's not upsetting. They're pretty used to seeing blood, so they will sort of sound off to the party here and tell you their names.
Well, Casey, now you know them. Okay. Look, I know you want to play mom. I know you want to play dad. Obviously, looking at Diana. Just this look of absolute rage comes over Diana's face, and she's going to instinctively reach for her staff and go to pull it out, but then hesitates, because she realizes that the two girls are still clinging onto her, so she's going to stop and wait and see how Hondo reacts. The minute he says the playing mom and dad part, Hondo is just going to lose his shit. He's going to take off his morning star off his back, which he never really normally takes off.
He never does. And he's going to get right up on Draconis's face. Draconis is like really big compared to Hondo, but he's going to get right up close to him, and he's going to be like, "You son of a bitch! Where do you get off? Huh? You don't know jack shit about me or what I'm fucking capable of, alright? I will shove this morning star so far up your fucking ass, you're going to be wearing it!" I'm going to look at Hondo, right square in his eye, and say, "Am I the only one thinking straight here?" I watched Yennward throw Ironhide out the fucking window.
I miss, I miss Rodswell getting gutted. And now you want to bring kids along? Am I the only one that sees what the fuck is happening here? You all, every one of you, are losing your shit. Leora's going to step in. She's taking this all in, but it's very, she's waiting to see if this is going to kind of pop into something violent. So she's gonna, she's gonna try to step in between Draconis and Hondo. Alright, this isn't, this isn't solving anything. Where exactly are you taking the kids? What's the end goal? Are you just taking them on the road with you? Oh god, no, that would be stupid.
They're heading back with us to Dernhollow. Well, I've got something situated there, we'll sort them out, don't worry about it. And then Hondo's going to put his morning star back on his back, and he's going to back off, just breathe, and just walk away, kind of, not far away from the group, just walk away from Draconis. Alright, so Po's told me a little bit about what Dernhollow is going through right now, and the ravens have it pretty much locked down. If you like, I could take some elves and we can accompany the kids there ourselves if you want. Hondo will look towards Diana to see what she thinks.
Diana is going to look towards the kids, it's up to you. The kids are going to prefer to stay with Diana, and Kareth is, Kareth would probably stick with Hondo at this point. They know you guys more than Liara, but it's not that they would have anything against her, I mean she's human, which, kind of a strike against her, sadly, in this particular situation. Oh, you can't really blame them! No, I, yeah, I mean, Liara isn't the most warm-looking friendly person either, like the eyepatch doesn't help. She's cute. I like that. She looks badass. But yeah, so that's, as Rhaeon's going to nod, we can talk about it again perhaps after we all rest up a bit if you would like, but I think for now instead of insulting each other more, it would be more productive for us to catch a breather after fighting a battle.
Dibs on the master bedroom, that's it first. Liara's going to address the party. Whatever you decide to do with the kids, there's, the leaders of the army are getting together, we're going to discuss what's going to be done with the city and who should run it. I figure you have just as much right as any one of us to be there. I don't know if you have any interest in that. Yes, T's going to look at Liara. What about refugees? What's going on? What's going on with the people, the world of civilians? Right now nothing's going on. We, okay, leaving everyone alone and we're just trying to get to daylight to be honest.
We figure we can, first of all we need to figure out who's in charge and get some kind of semblance of order and then we can start to rebuild and try to settle things down, but as you can imagine everyone's completely shaken outside and this is going to take a while. And if, and she's going to look to, she's going to look to Yenward and, Yenward and Jirconas. I know you, I know your group isn't exactly fond of staying put and rebuilding so I wanted to ask if you had any interest in this to begin with. I mean, yeah, I wouldn't be here if I didn't. I could have run off plenty of times.
Jirconas? I know, I'm like, I suppose so. Alright, from what I understand there's going to be a vote held and I can only imagine everyone's going to throw their hat in the ring for the possibility of being a king, so we'll deal with that when we get to it, but for right now I think everyone should probably get some rest while there's a chance to get it because we've got a long road ahead of us. And I think that's a pretty good time for us to stop for the evening. Yeah. Hey guys, I think it's okay. People might not, might like Diana more now. She just became more of a likable character.
I really everyone kind of got some opportunity to shine. I want to, like, I want like this once this is all said and done, edited, like this is, yeah, it's gonna be this will this will turn out to be really good but if we keep going this it like this is going to be a month. Yeah, we need to we need to end it. This is a good place to end, I think. We have next Saturday. I will say that I didn't think you guys were going to stick around for the vote. This will be interesting so you will have a direct hand in who we are that's okay. Does the group does the group get a vote.
Yeah, there's a group gets it wrong. Diana doesn't care. I was like, ask her please like this is gonna shit. Yeah, but you didn't ask us if we wanted kids so it's true. I'm not saying that she's probably gonna sit out for most of us like, yeah, whatever you guys want. I want to record tomorrow. I don't think Dan can. Yeah. I do don't have to really pull some strings because I just pawned my kid off on my mom all day today and that would be all day again tomorrow so you know, yeah. So, well the only other thing I could do is there's an inspectors, I could try to edit that and that could be Monday content that could I just have to stay up all night tomorrow.
Do that. Okay. All right, this will this will be good anytime to properly set things up though. Diana would have like, like the, the party kind of like that maybe I really like settled on it but I think we just stayed in the castle for the night. Yeah. And set the kids up in their own room and said like mine is like right next door if you need anything just don't hesitate to come in, like she. Yeah, since they're in her room she's going to be by herself in the room and she doesn't even attempt to sleep with you just knows like it's like as soon as she's alone she just kind of like doesn't really break down so much as just like, like the hurt facial expression just like goes from like, like she was like putting on just a mask of like strengthen not going then she's just, that's going to kind of fall and just confusion and overwhelmed like that's all that she really has right now and she's going to go and just kind of sit on, on the, like by by windowsill and like curl up and just look out at the city while trying to piece together her thoughts.
Just nice and silent he's a drought, you know, real quiet like. And he's just gonna walk over to Diana, he's just, he's not gonna look at I just gonna look out the window as well. Then he's just gonna say, So what happened. She's going to just kind of stare at Honda for a couple seconds she. What do you mean. Look, kid. We fought a lot of people to get into this castle. We fought a lot of people will get into the city, and not once did you flinch. Did you move the better nylon. When that guy hit the floor. You hit the floor. What was that all about her expression is going to kind of close up again and she's going to just look at it like defensive and it's a long story.
Look, we all got long stories kid. I know I haven't given you any reason to trust me, but I feel maybe here. Look at this. Honda's gonna take off his jacket. He's gonna unbutton his shirt. Any reaction. From from Diana, like, just just just to get like, just like she's like, raise an eyebrow but just like wait and see me if he starts taking on his pants she's gonna object. I knew a guy who did that once. Oh my god. It's not that deep. Okay. So yeah, Honda's gonna unbutton his shirt, and then to Diana's eyes there's this like disgusting looking, it's it's healed now but it's like this is horrible scar.
That's like this these snakes eating one of them, eating one another, like they're all intertwined but it's like this deep engraved scar on his chest. And then he's gonna say to her. See, we all got long stories. See this here. Come from a place that's not the greatest place in area. I work with the people who want the greatest people in area. They did this to me. This. This means I'm something. Whatever this is this. This mark, it's. It's a family thing. Look, I. I'm not who you think I am. Then again, I don't think you know who I am, what I do, what I'm capable of.
Do you know anything about the families. Diana. So, when, like he reveals the scar on his chest like she's just going to look at it, it's not horrified like she doesn't react to like the fact that it's clearly something painful it's a pretty gruesome thing we're just kind of like examining it and then kind of a bit of a look of confusion over faces he continues talking and he's telling her things. But. And then when he asked about the family she's gonna nod just. Yes, I am very aware of their existence, and she's gonna stand up and kind of begin pacing a bit like he's just needs some movement.
There's a lot of stuff kind of trapped up within her right now. So, you understand what I do. And you won't stand the kind of life I lead. She's gonna stop walking and just not and then look back at him and for a couple moments just kind of look and just consider like she's really like trying to come up with a decision and then just. So you live in, you lived in bright port. Well, you could say that, yeah, I lived in bright port for a long while. I mean, I don't, I don't even know where I'm from. But bright boat bright ports where I call home. Well, there are some things that you don't know about me and my past either.
You would likely recognize me by a different name. Have you ever heard of someone called Astaroth? Sounds a little familiar. She's just gonna kind of smile, not the happiest smile and just. She's going to reach up to her neck and kind of just like unfasten her armor where it closes around that and reveal just these markings which they go around her neck and they're like runes formed into a chain. They're bright gold that they don't look like tattoos so much as they were like carved into her skin. Just look at him. This is a slave brand. It's it has other properties.
I'm not exactly sure what they were, but. I was part of House Darksepane for most of my life. Stair Mac, that was the lich that we met up there. I'm sure he'd know who he is. I was his right hand. I. He took everything from me. I didn't know anything else besides my life there. Besides what I was when I was working for him. I. Most healings are looked upon as monsters. I was one. He molded me and he created me into something that he used. I still carry those talents and that's still quite a part of me and I came here because Carter and there make they knew each other if anyone knew where there max phylactery was it would be him and knowing that I could track it down.
Ask them questions. I just for some reason it never occurred to me that he would be here. I I wasted the opportunity. I was unprepared. So much has happened and. Well. Here I am. She's gonna just like look at Honda just like very clearly wary and defensive she's she has never like reached out with trust to anyone before and this is this like waiting to see how he reacts. I'm gonna take a deep breath and then he's gonna look up and go you might have been held in chains once you might have been made to do real bad things but the life you lead is is your own it's your own choice.
You can do whatever you want to do. You can be whoever you want to be. You can't let the past and then he's gonna just before he says the rest of them is gonna look down and then just take himself in for a second then he's gonna look. It's it's what you do now. It's what you do here. Take the opportunity to make everything better to make it all yours. Because that's what I plan on doing. When I go back to Brightport. I'm gonna change the world. I'm gonna change everything. But I know I can't do that by myself. You might not trust me now. But I promise you. That.
If you help me. I will stand by your side. Until I draw my last breath on this goddamn stinking rock. So I'm gonna offer you this. He's gonna take off one of his rings. And then slide over to a. I want to make you one of us. And I don't mean the people who made me what I am. I mean one of us being me and what I'm trying to create. I'm my own boss. I don't need to be told what to do or where to go. But I need a right hand. I need somebody. Who can talk. Who can walk the walk. And be a part of this world that I'm trying to build. The choice is yours. But just know.
I can be your friend. Diana's going to pick up the ring and just kind of turn it over in her hands just considering it and looking back to Tondo. What you told Kareth earlier this this world that you want to build it. Well. I suppose it can't be any worse than this one. She's gonna like close her fist over it just hold it just. Then I got to know that I can trust you. Swear yourself to me. What you said about freedom about being able to make my own choices you're right. Honestly I don't think it ever really hit me until I saw his ashes hit the floor. It's.
He's dead now. There's I have no chains. I don't know if I can swear myself to you that's too familiar. Way things have gone in the past but. And I'm not exactly the expert on trust. But if you truly wish to make this world into a better place for everyone. And I will follow you. I will help in. Whatever ways have. Thank you. I thought I was going to shut back up but I just put his jacket back on. I'll see you in the morning kid. All right. Thank you.
