Previously on Group A, the newly formed Adventuring Party took a mission to head south into a new Volslaver camp in order to hopefully free a group of trapped orcs behind enemy lines.

The group had managed to infiltrate the camp and sneak into where the caged orcs were being kept. After causing a distraction and setting some fires in the base camp and then fiddling with the locks on the cages the orcs were now set free and seemingly wanted revenge for being caged up. Let's pick things up inside the slaver camp and find out how the group deals with all this. [Chewbacca noises] Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason, I'm the Dungeon Master. Going around the table starting with James. Hey, it's James and I play Ezno and Masoka, the half-elf rogue.

And Michael. Hi, I'm Michael and I play Anvin Yamil, the half-elf storm mage. And Kelsey. Hey, I'm Kelsey and I play Aster Feynriel, the elven archer. And Susan. Hey, I'm Susan and I play Madeline Riawen, the human cleric. And Rob. Hey, I'm Rob and I'm playing Ubo, half-orc, all action. [Laughter] And Xavier. Hey, I'm Xavier and I play Donovan Weiss, what is it again? Human fighter. [Laughter] Let's do it. Good job. That combination of things. I almost forgot mine. Let's do that thing where we remember basic character details. [Laughter] Hashtag pro. I'm a free spirit.

I don't adhere to tags like Steven and Tyler. [Laughter] Look man, I don't fit into your labels, okay? Like medium. Hot topic gets me. [Laughter] Oh my god. Okay. Here's where we're picking up. You guys are in the middle of this camp. It is on fire. A lot of these tents are going up in a blaze. There's a collection of slavers. Some of them are caught up in the fire, actually. It is terrible, waving their arms frantically trying to put themselves out. Ubo is a bore. I'm a sparkling conversationalist, actually. [Laughter] I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. Go on. No, that's okay.

Aster and Misoka are toward the back of this camp. Actually, let me give you guys a map just so you can kind of see what's going on here. Hold on a sec. So, here's what we're going to do. We're going to slide Aster and Misoka on the back in here, and I would say "boar Ubo." "Uboar." Oh, that's good. Good job. I like that. So, you see all these guys? Yeah. Yeah, those are slavers. They're all on fire, right? Well, okay. The ones that are on fire I have kindly taken out of Rook. No. Okay. They're essentially human candles, and they're of no use in a fight. But what's about to happen is this orc is about to charge into the center of this camp and just start waylaying things.

Now, I don't know what the rest of the party's intentions are here, but I'm going to give you just a moment, just one brief moment in time before all hell breaks loose. Aster and Misoka are with the other three right there, right? Yeah, everyone, yes. Okay. Ubo's sort of by himself, like, charging around, but he's a boar. Is he still dragging Burning Tent? Yeah, I would say at a certain point he's done the damage he's going to be able to do. Pretty much all these tents are on fire. So, I feel like when the orc charges in, Ashley just kind of stares at what's happening, and then they're going to look to everyone else because they're not really sure what to do in this situation.

Well, imagine 15 minutes ago, this was a peaceful, cricket-filled evening. Just chirp, chirp, chirp. You'll hear gentle murmurs over a campfire. Maybe someone will shout to someone else to bring them something. But it was pretty calm and peaceful. Cut to do a star wipe type thing? 15 minutes later, this entire thing is on fire. Orcs are free. There's hand axes being thrown around. This is just utter chaos. There's a boar. It's insane. Do we know where the fires are in this? You see those tents? Think of them as on fire. Is there? Is there one more next to? Did we spare any?

Or are they all on fire? I'd say, okay, honestly, I'd say the three in the back. Which is the one where he ran in to get the yarrow? I'd say the one closest to Misoka. Okay, but it's on fire. No, those three are spared. The rest of these are on fire. Oh, those are spared. Okay. Yeah, they're not on fire yet. I thought red. Because we set our fires from the other end. Right, yeah. And just by lieu of chaos and then spreading, and people will be on fire and then fall into something else and all that. But Ubo's obviously not going to be racing over to where you're supposed to be sneaking into.

Mm-hmm. Mattie will want to scan the slavers just to see things. That was the vaguest statement. I know, but I don't know how to phrase it without giving a- So Mattie deploys to radar. Yes. Mattie is Robocop. Because of IC. No, just like to see, I don't know, how do I phrase this? To sort of take in the scene, assess the situation. Yes, and you may- You can't just say yes and, you have to say yes and something. Yes and blank. She's doing perfect improv. I know, I'm great at this, right guys? No, like see what they're doing and if they notice us and- Okay. -we're at them and their faces.

I'll tell you what, this is going to be the thing that you get to do just before all hell breaks loose. So I- okay, do me a favor, give me an investigation check just really quickly. And I'll give you a cursory, like a real cursory glance of this camp and what's going on within it. Okay. Holy God. Alright, good start. Jesus, that is a crit. Nice. So, Maddie sees all, right? Yes. Right now, most of these guys in the camp, you're going to spot a few of your standard looking slavers. They are essentially bandits or thugs with a purpose, right? So leather armor, daggers, maces, things like that, real just standard weaponry.

Now you're also going to spot a few moles in here too. Typically what happens with moles like this is they're used as big, burly bodyguards. And they're about as large as the captain. The captain's wearing different clothing than the rest of these guys, clearly the one in charge. All of these individuals are pretty much focused on the fires, right? The fires and this boar to a lesser extent. But the boar was dragging like a flaming bit of cloth, so it's a problem. And so they're trying to, for some reason it had not occurred to these guys yet to just shoot the boar.

Because it's just, if not for the fire, I think they would have. But it's like, "Oh God, oh God, our stuff!" So they're trying to get blankets and bedrolls and they're trying to pat down these flames and it's just not working. Now the problem lies in that orc. That orc does not care about stealth. Basically, the orc is taking its shot. If it's going to die, it's going to die, whatever. But it is not going to die a slave and it's sure as hell not going to be dying in a cage. So it is hopped up on goofballs, it's running into, it's running, it's like... Axe overhead running and screaming.

So if they didn't notice us before, they'll probably notice us in a second. Yeah, it's inevitable. I would say the only reason this didn't immediately draw attention is because the screaming could be from the other people who are on fire. So there's obviously, there were people like, "Oh my God!" Like that type of thing. So this is just more screaming in chaos. Now when it buries an axe in the back of someone's head, that's when element of surprise is gone. But this is happening. This is a thing. So what I would like everybody to do is do me a favor and roll initiative.

How many orcs aren't coked up and running into battle? The rest of them, I would say, are still getting their wits about them. They were not... they may not have had the presence of mind to just do what this one orc did, or they're in worse shape. They may have been abused a bit more or something like that, or maybe not as hardy. So while they may get involved, they are not leading the charge. Okay, but how many? Five of them. Okay. I think we might have to cut our losses. Oh. We'll see. We'll see. Things might go very well. So because... okay, check this out.

Because of the yarrow? Let's see, what is the... okay, well. This orc is going to get a +4 to its initiative. Jeez. There are side effects, but yeah. Wow. But rolled for crap. I like the parentheses yarrow crazed. Yes, it's important. I still like Ubor. Ubor. Hey, the slaver captain rolled crappy too, so okay. Wow. Hopefully this trend continues in the combat. This is looking okay. Wow. Yeah, we should fight, guys. Or are they running the stack down on bad rolls? Exactly, like that's what I'm worried about. Is everyone high? They're just opium addicts. They're all just...

They all have like a nice little drug related descriptor. It's the fire, that's what's making them not notice. Yeah, they're heavily distracted. Thank you for making up excuses for them. You're welcome. You guys might have a really easy time here. I don't know. We'll see. All right, Masoka. So you're in the back of this camp, everything's on fire. You're behind this orc, standing next to Astor. What's your move? What do you want to do? Well, first he's going to reach into his jacket, pull out a flask. Probably something strong. We'll just say it's Skull Splitter.

It doesn't matter because he drinks all the time. He's going to take a swig. And then look at the closest orc to him that was just freed. And offer. Do they accept? I would say no, just because they're still assessing the situation. While you did free them, they're not so trusting of non-orcs. All right, he's just going to shrug it off. Cork it, put it back in. And yell, "Donnie, you ready for this?" And he is going to... Where's this guy? Slaver 2. Can we just remember for a moment that pretty much everyone in this party is reinforcing the idea that all player characters have some level of mental illness to do what they do. [laughter] Right?

To go adventuring like this, we all have some sort of damage. Don't you have to? That's the only reasonable explanation for doing this. People just want to make the world better. Could have been a cobbler. I'm going to swing with a good hand. That's a good start. Yep. Ooh. Oh no. So sneaking up, kind of running up on Slaver 2 here, you are going to swing at them and miss with your death. Okay. Don't want to be a coward. Probably. Donovan is going to yell from the back, "I don't know, are you?" [laughter] Shouldn't have taken that sip. That's what I was about to say.

I'll take my bonus action to sneak off back here. [laughter] I'm going to hang out beside the Yaro Crashers. I don't know if that's a good place to be. I let him out. I like to imagine that this Slaver is just standing there watching the boar and has no idea how close the back of his head got to getting cut. Like just, "Whew!" And just, "You're gone." [laughter] You're becoming the Jack Sparrow of this party. [laughter] Whose side is he on? [laughter] Ubo! I'm sorry. Uboar! So, I'm going to be back with the crew here. And boar's feet, I believe, is 40 feet?

Yes. Okay. So, Uboar is going to rampage across their dinner table here. Yeah. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, yeah, sure. You're Yaro Orc. Okay. So, he ends up there, you know, just traipsing across and knocking over all their food and stuff. Then, bonus action, I will revert to Orc form. So, he comes out of the pig form onto his two feet. And then, with my actual action, I will-- Thornwood is actually 30 feet, but it pulls the creature 10 feet when it hits. Okay. So, I'm going to go-- I'm going to end up here, actually. Okay. So, still next to the Yaro-crazed Orc.

Yes. And, um, then I'm going to look at Mistoka and-- Well, no. First, let me Thorn Whip, because it doesn't help to make one-liners before you know what the effect, right? [laughter] All right. So, he's going to do that, and he's going to Thorn Whip. Hey, that'll hit. 18. Okay. And I want to pull him into the-- two squares into the square adjacent with Mistoka there, and then I'll do my damage. Okay. Which is that. Ooh! Hey! Six damage. And, uh, Ubo says to Mistoka, "Why run? You can do it!" There he is. Go. He's so supportive and encouraging. [laughter] Uh, thanks.

Uh, that is my turn. Thanks, Ubo. Slaver number three! Well, the jig is up, I guess. So, slaver number three is going to move close to Ubo here and try to use his scimitar on Ubo, and that's going to miss. A 14 will miss. Yay, high armor class. [laughter] Aster! Okay, so Aster is going to-- then they are going to attack with the arrow. Boo! Yeah, he's gonna hit! Oh, it is. Nice. Okay. So, I'm gonna do that, and then because that guy is within five feet, I can add the extra d6 of damage. He was already dead. Oh. [laughter] This arrow's gonna strike him in the neck.

Like, he's busy-- like, a lot of neck-related injuries to this particular slaver, so. Slaver number two is dead. Gonna fall down dead, but you extra killed him. Makes you feel better. Good. Bye-bye, slaver two. Anything else? No, I think they're good. Maddie? Okay, so this all happens, like, you know, this is all six seconds according to D&D. So, the way I'm picturing it is Ubo's gonna turn to Misoka and start being like, "Why'd you run away?" And then at that time, that's when the slaver comes towards Ubo, and then Maddie yells, "Watch your side, Ubo!" and then does this, and does Guiding Bolt.

She shoots a flash of light from her hands, like this just streak of light shoots towards him. Even if it doesn't hit, this is probably why he misses, 'cause he's like, "Oh shit, freaking light's shooting towards me." [laughter] That's why he missed Ubo. So, I'm gonna do this. That's gonna hit. Okay, and then the first one... Holy God! Yeah, Ubo's her buddy. [laughter] Whoa, is that... Wait, is that a spell, or...? Yeah, I only have three a day, though. That's a lot of damage for a clear excel, though. Jesus, that shouldn't have a secondary effect, I'm impressed.

Yeah, and it has a secondary effect. [laughter] But, these are already dead. It fucking dies. Nineteen damage. And then she'll run up and stand next to Ubo, like, after saying, "Watch your side, Ubo!" and kills him, and then runs up next to Ubo. Good Lord, that's a lot of damage. So, that is going... I picture some Raiders of the Lost Ark shit, like, I picture his face melting off, but I... [laughter] It is... She does worship the Sun God, so... Yeah, I picture a smoldering corpse when it's all said and done, like a really grotesque sunburn. So, oh yeah, it shoots into his chest, but then, you know how electricity on the TV shows, it goes through every part of their body, but it's like fire.

Normally it wouldn't be so gruesome, but I don't know, man, you... I killed it in one shot. Yeah, your God's having a good day or something. I prayed extra hard to a monitor today. I gotcha, and just destroyed this dude. The Ugo is on point. Oh, man. Anything else? Nope, just move next to Ubo, and then I'm done. Oh, man. Mole thugs. Now, okay. This is where things start getting tricky. Now, these moles have been... It's been literally beaten and bred into them that they have to protect these guys. It is some of them from birth, right? Their tongues are cut out at a young age, so they can't talk back.

They live a agonizing life, but they will do terrible things to make sure that these slavers are alive. So mole thug number three. He is just going to move a bit closer to Matty and pull out a crossbow, like this big heavy crossbow. Target Matty, fire. Oh, that's going to miss. Shot's going to go wide. [laughter] Mole thug number one is going to be a bit closer to Matty. Before that, sorry, Warding Flame, I'm going to make him have disadvantage on the attack. Ooh, okay. I can use that four times a day. Okay. So this man, you're going to... This is a good thing.

So this mole thug, right? Good lord. So he can attack twice, and he's going to pick up this big heavy mace. He's going to have disadvantage, and he's going to swing once at Matty. Oh, do you realize it dropped a crit? [laughter] It dropped a crit, Susan. A monitor is on my side. Man, your god has got your back. So it dropped the crit. Thank you, 80s reference music. I wake up every morning to the dawn and pray to a monitor. Do you realize this, Jason? I'm starting to. He is going to get a second swing. Warding Flame. [laughter] Oh, damn it. Okay, you rolled really well twice on that one.

That is going to be a 19. That will hit. Do you have anything to resist damage before I go? No, that was it. That was all I had. You're not the Ira Love anymore. Wow! No. But he's going to roll really crappy if it makes you feel any better. Three damage to Matty. So he swings twice, and both times this flame shoots up around Matty, and the second time the flame deflects most of it. Oh, that's good. Jonathan. All right. He's going to do kind of like the-- Well, he's going to take his shield and warp pick, and he's going to do the-- I don't know, like the-- Is it a boxer thing where you like tip toe and just before you start sprinting, you just do three short hops, and then he just dashes into it.

He's going to tackle with his shield that mole right there. I'm going to try to move it away from Matty. Okay. So that is a shove attempt. So I'm going to roll athletics against the mole's athletic or acrobatics, whatever is higher. Okay. So there we go. Oh, yeah, that's a crit. That's a crit. [LAUGHS] So I'm going to move him five feet away. Yeah, I guess I can only move him in a straight line and not position him in a diagonal. I'd say straight line, but I will say he's going to fall down prone. Yeah. No, it's just moved. No, no. Because you rolled a crit, he's going to fall down prone. [GASPS] Thank you.

That's okay. That's a good roll. Cool. And he's going to motion at him and the others, just extend his arms, and in the very Dark Souls, well, what is it, gesture fashion? He's going to basically go with his body, say, "Come at me." Ooh. Amvin. Hello, hello. All right. Can I obviously tell that that's the slaver captain, or does he look like everybody else? No, he's definitely dressed differently. Like, you could tell, just by the way he was barking, people, you could tell, like, "Oh, the buck stops with that guy." Okay, let me move. So, Amvin will pull out a diamond from his pouch, and then you'll start seeing lightning start forming around it, and he is going to cast Chromatic Orb.

Hold on a second. Okay, that did hit, so yes, we'll just count it. Yeah, I did. I found the button, and I go, "Okay, that one's lightning," and I hit it, and I'm like, "Oh, I need to attack first." [laughter] So, you can see that actually happy that lightning bursts from the diamond and shoots towards the captain. And that will strike the captain. Anyone who was paying attention to the fire is pretty much done with that by now. All eyes are on you guys. Anything else? That should do it. Well, the slaver captain got to have a bit of a retort. So, hmm. I'm just waiting for, he throws a Chromatic Orb at you, and because you only have 11 hit points, he obliterates you. [laughter] The slaver captain was a very powerful mage.

Go figure. He can be two things. He can be two, two, two, four, five. Second career. I guess I can be a really new character after all. Aw. Slaver captain is going to move up to Masoka and try to start pushing in on this group, just try to contain you. Yeah, he can try. He's gonna try. Oh boy. He's gonna target Masoka. Hmm, let's see. Yep, okay. He's gonna target Masoka, and he is going to make a multi-attack. One with his scimitar and one with his dagger. 18 is gonna hit. Seven damage. Oh. And then he's gonna use his dagger. Holy shit. That's a 24. That's gonna hit, but that's less damage.

Ah, there we go. Five, wow. Five damage. Damn it. It's a good thing you don't have seven hit points. Yeah, man. Holy God. Okay, so those were lucky rolls. Orc. Now, a couple of things. One, when Ubo changes back into a half-orc in front of this orc's eyes, there's definitely a lot of judgment, okay? And because he's so hyped up, there's like a... You can tell that there was a chance he was just gonna outright attack Ubo just because of proximity, just because of magic using, and being a half-orc or runt. But he is much more pissed off at these slavers, and he is going to...

He's gonna kinda edge past here. He just shoves Masoka. I would... Probably just like pushing, just like that dude-bro shoulder bump thing. And he is going to target this... He's gonna target that slaver. And he is going to use this axe. And that's a 24. That is definitely gonna hit. 11 damage. Progress. That's good stuff. That'll end the orc's turn, and he is just going to be screaming and just swinging wildly. There's no art form to what this orc is doing. It is just hacking and chopping just aggressively. Oh boy, mole thug number two is all alone and going to...

Seize that this captain is in a bit of danger. One, two, three, four, five. And going to target the orc and sort of just run up and try to protect this captain. And he is going to target. That is going to hit for three damage. And he gets to swing a second time. That is going to hit for four damage. They're loyal. They're not necessarily great. So this orc is taking a bit of damage here and that'll bring up slaver number one. Slaver number one is... Hmm. Two, three, five, six. Slaver number one is going to target Donovan. And kiss him. And just smooch. That's a 20.

That'll hit. Oh. Oh, low roll though. Two damage to Donovan. Two. That brings us back to the top of the order with Misoka. Misoka, you're dying. You're bleeding profusely. You have been dealt 12 damage out of a possible 13. Yes, I have. All right. Do I have... Does everybody have second wind? I think only fighters do. Yeah, just fighters. Okay. So I have fuck all. Well you have disengage. You have booze. You have booze? I have booze. You have friends. Pour the booze on my wound. Wipe the blood from my mouth. Say, "Is that all you got?" Misoka, no. He's... he's... wounded.

Okay, I can't be dumb here. Hey, play your character. Yeah, I mean you can. Okay, then I have to. Okay. I'm gonna attack. Does anyone have a resurrection spell? We're level two. Is Yaro Crazed Orc considered a party member right now? For now, yes. So I can sneak attack then? Yes. Do it for glory. Then I'm going to swing with my good hand. I didn't target anybody there. Whatever, I'll take that roll if I have to. Yeah, I wouldn't make anybody reroll for an attack that hit if it didn't, you know, if you weren't targeting. You said there's a bonus to damage or bonus to the attack itself?

It's just damage. Just damage. Okay. Donovan's gonna yell, "Misoka, double down!" It's peer pressure, man. It's not cool. If the off-hand hits, the off-hand can still do the damage for the turn, right? The sneak attack? Yeah, okay, off-hand. Alright, high roll everybody. Fingers crossed for high roll. He's obviously just kind of like, staggering around, taking almost blind swings at this guy. Yeah, he hits you really hard, so there's a... Oh my god. Eleven's gonna miss. Oh shit. Well, at least that doesn't kill you. Right! And at least a lot of people have turns before him.

Yeah. That's good. Yeah. And I would say he's very obviously a threat based on him walking off and just stab, stab. Like, very... there's a presence there. So I think Misoka would turn to the group and be like, "This guy's quick!" Even though he's probably not moving at all. Ubo! Okay, step one, bonus action. A healing word on poor Misoka here. And Ubo's healing word is something to the effect of, "Good bleeding. You have had lots of practice." Five hit points back. Five health. Because I have the mini heal, not the big one. That counts. Thank you very much. Yeah, it's the bonus action heal.

And then I'm gonna move here. And I'm gonna Thunder Wave how to draw an area again. Well, okay. Wait, no, no. It's gonna be a 15-foot cube covering those two dudes. Yeah, okay. That's easiest. Okay. So... Thunder Wave, Voice of the Mountain, etc. That's what I do. Holy Lord, that's a lot of stuff. Okay. Wait, no, no, no. Oh, I still have Misoka. Let's ignore that. That was not what I intended. Or bleeding, Corey. Well, the good news is he saved. Misoka saved, incredibly. If we were to count that, Misoka saved, the other two failed. Well, there's still like half of it.

So you need to make sure it doesn't apply to him. Yes, no, he's being... Yeah, he's no longer targeted by you because he saved. It automatically untargeted. You're fine. Okay. If it does do any damage, I will make sure. Okay. So, and this is... They're automatically pushed 10 feet and they take 2d8 Thunder damage. So big boom. I assume some amount of dinner table stuff goes scattering as well. Oh, yeah. And it looks a little like this damage wise. Six damage to both of them and push 10 feet each. All right. So I'm using Slaver Captain diagonal down, maybe? One, two, you know what?

Just have them both go. Yeah. That's what I was picturing. Yeah. Okay. So that's all of my actions. Yeah, they're both pushed back. Misoka is bleeding less. That's great. Because he was a dead person. Yeah. Bleeding less, that's great because he was in bad shape. I would imagine just this is where description bleeds with mechanics. But if you're one hit point away from dying or at least being unconscious, I mean, I would picture you are in bad shape. You are just covered in cuts. Like, picture like Ash at the end of any one of the Evil Dead movies. Or even like if you've watched a UFC fight, like one of those ones where someone gets in a real solid blow to the head real early.

Oh, yeah. It's only been a minute, but that dude's reeling. Mm-hmm. But he's too stubborn to, you know, he knows he's hurt, but he won't acknowledge it. Right. Because he's been in worse situations. Right. Aster. Okay, so Aster is going to hesitate because they see that the slavery captain is looking pretty worse for the wear. But they also saw the big, the Yaro crazed orc is going after him. And they're kind of getting the feeling that if this big, angry orc wants to kill the guy that killed him, then an arrow comes and takes the kill from him. The orc might not be so happy.

So they're going to change the target over here and look at work this time. I'm going to try and take this guy out. And also, this is if this hits, they're not aiming to kill this one, just to... Slaver one? Okay. Yeah. So this particular slaver you are not trying to kill. That's going to hit. Okay. Let's do that. Holy Lord. That is, that is a lot of damage. Ten damage. And then I get the extra d6. So that is going to, you're going to strike, you're going to strike the slaver in the shoulder and it's going to go clean through partially. Like, so most of this arrow is going to go out the other side and he's going to drop, like, is in agonizing pain right now.

So technically unconscious. Gotcha. So we're going to leave them there. Anything else? No, that's it. Mattie. Okay. So the mole next to her is prone, right? Yes. So she could just run by him and not have any negative effects. Yes. Okay, cool. Why is he prone? Because Donovan knocked him over with his shield. Oh, gotcha. Yeah. Captain America. Yeah. Yeah, pretty much. Nice. So, um, Mattie's going to look to Donovan and be like, uh, uh, spare the moles and then she's going to run over here next in front of Masoka because he still looks like he's bleeding and then she's going to target Masoka and reach behind her and touch him and do cure wounds.

Nice. But she's going to have like her shield up and facing the slaver captain in front of Masoka. Just blindly reaching behind her. Yeah. Doesn't know what she's grabbing. Do me a favor. Oh, wow. Okay. That's a five. Hey, do me a favor. Let's just for flavor. I want you to do me a favor. Roll a d10. Uh, the higher the number. I want to see where she grabs. The higher the number, the less embarrassing the grab, the lower the number, the more embarrassing the grab. Uh, she's a healer. Nothing's embarrassing to her. Right. Maybe for Masoka. That's my flask. Oh, yeah. That's full on crotch.

That is a crotch grab. If ever I've seen one with a, with a one. Yep. That is a one listeners at home. So, so Mattie's going to, Mattie's going to charge forward and, and, and there will be a heel. Masoka's going to feel better. Um, the power of a monitor is going to surge through Masoka. It's going to rush through him, fill him with hot steaming. Stop talking. Keep going. Finish. You started down this road. Fill his pants with hot steaming. You're welcome, finger gun. So Masoka went from feeling a lot of pain to not that. Uh, anything else for Mattie? That's an action standard and movement.

I guess she's done. All right. Mole thug number three. Let's see. Mole thug number three is going to sidle up next to his buddy Slaver one. And he is not going to be targeting Mattie anymore. He is going to be targeting Donovan. Now these moles get a little something called pack tactics. So if, if, if the mole is in within five feet of an ally, uh, it's going to get advantage on attack rolls. So that is a problem. Targeting Donovan, mace attack. That is going to be an 18. That is going to hit. Uh, that's going to be eight damage. And then a second attack that is also go.

That's going to miss. Wow. Ooh, fairly. That is going to miss though. Mole thug number one is going to stand up just like, Oh wow. That did not see that coming. That, that, that charge. I would say he is going to inch over here and probably, probably try to attack this. Probably try to attack Mattie. So moving here next to Mattie and targets. Mace attack. That is going to miss. Ace attack. Gonna miss. Holy shit. Okay. A monitor is truly on. I told you, that is amazing. Did you doubt the power of a monitor? I just saying of the amount of a monitor, that's a lot of a monitor.

Donovan. All right. Uh, Donovan is going to wipe the blood of his mouth and use a second wind. I'm going to heal one D 10 plus two. Ooh, that's a three. I mean, that's a total three. Yes. And he's going to look at the mole who charged Maddie and going to say, no, you don't. And he's going to accept the attack of opportunity from the other. If you want to roll that now, there are two standing next to you. Uh, the other one's down. Oh yes. That's right. Slipper one is unconscious. Sorry. So yeah, that's yeah. So that'll be, uh, that's going to miss. Great. Uh, and I'm going to once again, uh, rush him and try to make him fall to his face on the ground.

Just going to try to knock him prone this time. Okay. Wait, what action is that? How many? That's a shove. That's just an action. Now the other one, the action surge was a bonus, but you'd also attacked him, right? No, no, he hasn't attacked yet. Oh, okay. Sorry. I was, I thought he got attacked. Yes, he ran away and in the most one, that's right. There's other guy attacking. I just, yeah, there was an attack there. An attack was had, uh, rolling for athletics. Oh, that's against his athletics or acrobatics. That'll hit. Well, I mean, you can roll. I mean, sure. Okay.

It's gonna, it's, I mean, short of him rolling. All right. So he's on his butt. He's really on his butt. All right. Uh, so I'm picturing this from Maddie's perspective. So just like the guy rushes her and he like attacks her and then I don't know where he just like falls to his face. And then there's Donovan standing there and he tells Maddie, Hey Maddie, I think I'm injured too. As she quickly pulls away from the soak. Oh, Hello. Okay. It seems like everybody's rushing to Maddie's aid, but I was rushing to miss soak as a, let's see. So I'd say, and we saw the mule come up to Maddie, but then noticed Donovan going to protect her.

So he says, he would start to focus on him and say, okay, he's got him. And then he focuses his eyes back at the captain, pulls into his component, pulls out that same twig and says, please don't fail me. And then one thing before you swing. Yes. Mule is actually a slur just to, just to let you know. What's the proper term? Mole. Oh, sorry. It's the... Yeah. Oh, mole. Yeah. Sorry. Well, it's only a slur to them. I mean, if you, I mean, they are attacking you right now. I would understand. I'm just letting you know for future. Way to be insensitive, Ambin. I am from Uminyara.

I mean, you don't know me. Real convincing argument there. Yep, we got it. He's gonna have his lightning stick focusing towards the captain and... That'll hit. Lightning streams out. Happy that it actually worked. And does three damage. Three damage. The cool part is I will, you'll notice that Ambin is now just focusing. And now every turn I can just attack with the same damage. I can do the damage over and over again without having to roll for attack. Are you happier with your lightning stick now? Well, as long as it doesn't fail me. Just stop. I go there and it like falls apart and then I lose the spell.

Damn it. And that's my turn. Just focusing there. That's gonna bring up Slaver Captain. He, okay, just... He has just had enough of this. You are really screwing up his operation. He is going to close in on Mattie. And he's going to target and multi-attack. That is going, okay, Scimitar is going to hit. Five damage to Mattie. Then he's going to spin around and try to plunge this dagger in Mattie's shoulder. That's gonna hit. Seven damage. Seven damage to Mattie. That is a lot of damage. I'm okay guys, it's cool. Munter's got this. Yeah. This, let's see, you know what?

This orc is going to take his greataxe and just try to plunge it into the mole standing in front of him. So here we go. That did... Wow. Yep, okay. So that's gonna hit. Twelve damage. So this orc is not screwing around. That mole as a result is just kind of got a chunk taken out of him. Mole thug number two. We're going to... Oh man. This is rough. Come at me bro. Yes he's gonna. Okay. Pack tactics. Standing next to an ally. He's going to get advantage on swings and he's going to swing twice. Wait, warding flare. Disadvantage. He's gonna break even on swings. You always do that?

I get it four times. It's equal to my wisdom modifier. They get disadvantage because this flare shoots up around me. Monitor loves me guys. Once per round. Yeah, we figured that out. So that second one I did didn't count. But they missed anyways. So we're going to target Mattie. Gonna try this. Wow, twenty-one total. That is going to hit. Seven damage is going to down Mattie. Slavery number one is going to sidle up right behind. He's down. Hold on, I'm going to label him as such. I put him to sleep with an arrow. That's how that works. That brings us back to Masoka.

Okay. Damn it, I wanted to get to that leader there, the captain. I mean, you could dip in, dip out. I wouldn't really. It's a tent, it's not a bit. Four, five, six. Did it show you which way I moved there? No, but I can see it. I got around, basically. And he's going to narrow his eyes and look at the Slavery Captain and say, "That's my girlfriend." No gods. I know I should be silent right now, but what? Mattie's dying breath. He's going to give him a one, two here. Alright. No sneak attack on this one, but okay, come on, rolls. Targeted. Yeah, Masokas do. Come on.

That'll hit! Yes! And some damage. Oh, shit, seven damage. Dead? No. He's getting low, but not dead. Okay, offhand. That's going to miss. Blinded by rage. And love. God, I hope Mattie lives. So you are going to stab this dude in the back and he is just going to let out a scream. This mole is going to react, kind of in a panic, like spin around. Is there anything else you'd like to do? No. Okay. Ubo! Okay, first I'm going to use my main action to use produce flame and throw it at the slaver, captain. Oh. So that's a cantrip and it goes a little something like this. That's going to miss.

Ah, rats. Okay, then I will use my bonus action to healing word my final first level spell of the day on Mattie. Checked it off first. Uncheck it. Cast it. There we go. Yeah, it takes away the option if you... Yeah, so healing word. Does that go up from zero? Yes. Beautiful. Better than nothing. Alright, that's going to heal Mattie for four, so Mattie's not dead. Yes, at the moment. I'm going to step up here in hopes that I provide a more appealing target than her while she's down. So I'm going to stand by the thug here. Okay. Anything else? Brandish my quarterstaff.

Good. Aster. Okay, so after seeing the slaver captain dish out some more damage and everyone else kind of ganging up on him, they're just going to go after him. So, see? That'll hit. Nice. Six damage to the captain. Plus one. That is nothing to scoff at. That's good stuff. So this beta captain is a big dude, big burly guy, but you can tell, like, he's almost taking a knee. Like, he has been to the ringer here. Anything else? No. There's no reason to move or anything, so I did. Mattie, your turn. Mattie wakes up with a boyfriend. This is weird. She probably didn't hear him.

I blacked out and had the weirdest dream. No, that happened. So she'll stand up. That's the first thing. Good call. And then she'll swing at the slaver captain with her mace. Okay. Because fuck this guy. Wait, that's more of an arrow love. This guy needs to be smited. There we go. There's Mattie. Smote. Get him. Smote him. Smit. Smote. That's gonna miss. That's a nine. Oh, jeez. God, arrow love would have hit. She's a little woozy. She bled out and then woke up. Can you heal yourself? I can, but that's not her thing. Okay. I love these character decisions. Okay. Yeah. So she stands up, like woozily swings, like is still like rocking back and forth and swings with her mace and then like has to catch herself to balance and stands there with one arm out and her mace out.

And she's like, okay, I'm good. Oh, that's the end of the term. Oh, man. Mole number three is going to notice something that there's a couple of squishies in the back that's been doing a lot of damage to their crew. No, there's not. I don't know what you're talking about. Mole number three is going to side shuffle and then sprint forward. And he is going to try to strike Aster in the noggin. That's not nice. That'll hit. That's really not nice. Seven damage to Aster. And he's going to try and hit Anven with a second attack. I would like to react. Okay. Yeah, I'm going to react.

Okay. Blade ward. So what that does is gives me a, I extend my hand, trace a warding sigil in the air. Until the end of next turn, I have resistance against bludgeoning, piercing, slashing damage dealt by weapon attacks. That could be very smart. Let's see if this will hit. That does hit. So you have resistance. That, wow. Okay. So that is the maximum amount of damage you could do. That is eight. But since you have resistance, that's four. That's some good thinking. And as a side effect, and I'm going to say this now, because I did something other than focusing on my lightning bolt, I've lost my witch bolt.

Aww. Because it's as if I take any action, rather than continuing it, it drops. But not getting your head bashed in by a mole is, uh, is probably, yeah. Man. Hmm. Boy, things are just not going well. You know what? This, okay, mole, bull thug number one is going to stand up and turn around to Donovan. And target. And miss. Bad armor class, man. Yeah, that's great. And miss again. Holy shit. Donovan, you're up. He's going to look back and forth between the two in the back and then the slaver captain. And he's going to be like, "God damn it." And he's going to look at the crazed orc and do the points two fingers at his eyes and then point at the captain slaver and go, "This guy!

This guy!" And then he's going to, again, take the opportunity attack from mole thug one. Oh no. Okay. And he's, yeah, as he moves towards Anvin and Astor. That's going to miss. Sorry, dude. Man, you are having a great day. Oh, got a shield. And then I'm going to swing with the side of my war pig. I'm going to try it, like, do some non-lethal action on the mole. Okay. So let me target him. Following Mattie's suggestion of not killing them. Yep. Yep, yep, yep. Actions, war pig, and attack. Oh, that'll super hit. Yay. So that's my damage. Eleven damage. Hmm. I'm going to use my action surge.

Okay. And I'm going to attack him again with the side of the war pig as well. That will also hit. Eighteen. Okay. Here goes the damage. Again, eleven damage. You are going to rock this mole. You are going to just strike it twice and, like, you could tell it's like a stunning blow. Like, he has to brace himself against his mace just to make sure he doesn't fall on the ground. Like, it is nasty. Okay. Oh, he's not down yet. Not quite, but rocking. I'm going to stay there then. Okay. Amthen. Okay. Does he, is he wearing, like, metal armor at all? I would say this is more, this is leather.

All leather? Okay. Yeah, they're wearing, they're all pretty much wearing the same kind of leather armor. Okay. Well, that won't make much of a difference, but I turn around and look at him after being attacked and bracing against that right before it happened, and I say, "Just because you're next to me doesn't mean you have an advantage." And so I target him, I stop targeting the captain, and I do shocking grabs where I put my hand, and my hand starts going from that warding that fades away, and then you just see lightning start, like, sparking off my hands, and I just, like, shove right into his chest.

Oh, god. Well, so much for... That'll hit. Okay, here's the thing. This is... Okay, that's not enough damage to, like, I would say that that's enough damage to just, like, shock him and knock him out. 'Cause I was gonna say, if you end up doing, like, ten damage or something, you will stop his heart and kill him. But this is more just, like, ugh, like it's a taser. That's basically what that was. Yup. But look at that ass, I think. Yes. It's like, just, no. I swear there. I've got time for you. The magic casters on this show, there is some... there is some horrible things that happened in the two years we were gone.

There you got real. Anything else? Uh, and I guess he would have reacted when Mattie fell and came back, but now he's, like, done, looks over. "You okay, Mattie?" And ready to focus back on the guys over there. So vaguely looking your direction, still, like, trying to get her bearings. No, she's not okay. Oh, good lord. Ah, golly. I, uh, okay, you know what? Slaver captain is going to try and just chop down Mattie and then spin around and attack Masoka. Oh, boy. Warding flare. Disadvantaged. How many is that? That's four, right? That's three. Three? Oh, well, three.

If we're counting the second one, that's it. So it's illegal. Three if the legal one doesn't count, or if the legal one does count. I would say we're counting it just because you missed any way. Like, it was just, like, so this is just kind of getting it out of the way. But, like, yeah, because we didn't know at the time. But now we do know. Lovely listeners at home. Yes. And we apologize for our mistake. This is our formal apology. Email's already been written. I'm sorry. It's already on its way. Uh, that's definitely going to hit. Oh, wait, sorry. Sorry, yes, he didn't get this event.

No, wait. Holy shit. Hold on. That's a crit miss. That is holy crap. That's a crit miss. Everybody. Do you know what that means? Do you know what that means? We were doing that all throughout the game. I know. Here we go, guys. Oh, OK. This OK. This is just a light one. This slaver captain is going to miss so badly. He is going to fall prone and end its turn. Just he's done. Like that's that's a wrap on him. Maybe the warding flare like shoots out and he jumps back and trips over his feet. Oh, boy. This orc is going to shift. Target the captain. And swing down. Here we go.

Wow, really, bro? Whoa. I would say this is such a such a haphazard and wild swing. He's going to bring his axe down and hit the dirt next to next to the captain. He's just so hopped up on goofballs. Molfook is going to spring into action, though, Molfook number two, and try to down this orc by he's not going to get packed tactics. He's going to swing with his mace and crit. Well, well, we get to use the table tonight. Actually, the fumble roll was low enough that we don't need the crit table for this one, but he will he will be doing damage. Nine damage.

Wait, what do you mean by the fumble roll was low enough? Oh, so here's how it works. If we roll if we roll a crit or miss whatever, and that goes for everybody, a d6 is rolled on a one or two. Nothing happens. Three, four, five, six. Then it rolls. So it's not crazy all the time. That makes it a bit better. Yes. OK, nice. And I wanted to call this out now because I found that I screwed up on my spells just so the listeners are aware and they don't call it out. I'm sure, like you said, you know, they're already written. The blade war is a spell that takes an action.

The shield is the reaction. Oh, technically the shield would have stopped the attack. I looked it up and I would have had 19 AC and it was an 18 damage. I would have got no, but I'll take it as is and we'll just play it as is. Yep. And just so everyone knows for next time. Yep. I've already been caught a cuck, but yeah. Wait, wait, wait. Because of this or just in general? I either or I get it here and there. This this mole is going to swing down while the while while the orcs axis in the ground and he's going to cave in the back of the orc skull and kill him.

Oh, it's probably not a bad thing. He took in a bad drug. You're right. If everyone else was dead already. Right. Masoka, your turn. Oh, OK. Well, noticing that Matty got up, he's going to get all flutter, get a renewed sense of energy. You got to impress the lady. She's going to pounce on this prone slaver captain with his one, two. I hope you kill him. I did it twice. That's good. You have advantage. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, OK. You did the table automatically assign that? Yeah. Good job table. Because I just double clicked and. Yeah, sweet. Good job table. That's all right.

That, my friend, is going to hit. So I've hit. Yeah. Here's some damage. Bless you. Can I do sneak if you want? Are you trying to? No, I can't. Oh, yeah, I can because I have advantage. It doesn't matter. Oh, yeah. Hold on. Are you trying to go for the kill or are you trying to knock out this captain? Oh, no, I was going for the kill. OK, you are going to sink your blade into the back of his neck. So right at the base of the skull, you are going to sink your blade in and you are going to kill him instantly. That's right. Ubo, I can't take myself seriously. These moles are all going to look the ones that are conscious, the two left are going to look down at the at the slaver captain here and then they're going to look back at the party.

Ubo, your turn. OK, do they look like they're like giving up, looking back at the party? Again, these they kind of been trained from birth to just protect. And OK, there's still a couple alive, but they're they've clearly lost in this situation, but they don't know what to do. They've never been trained. It's like, oh, in the event that we're all knocked out, a diploma. They don't know anything. They don't they've just been trained. Hey, make sure and protect me. And they've kind of failed at this for the most part. Mm hmm. What would Ubo do? Yeah, I feel like I can't risk it.

The first thing Ubo does is Ubo looks into Mattie's eyes and says, don't be too proud. And he like looks at her wounds and then looks back at her and like very insistent look. And then he will slide over here and occurring into active opportunity if the well, hey, does the mole swing when I go that way? I think out of instinct, yes. OK, and that'll hit four damage to Ubo. Not much. OK, how much now I will thorn with an attempt to drag him to me and away from Mattie. OK, I will fail at that endeavor. Oh, that's an eight. That'll miss. Yeah. OK, that's the end of my turn.

Good job. Good. Aster. OK, so when the mole first runs over and hits them and kind of kind of reflexively go for their rapier, but then and then the diamond runs up and and rose up and then immediately the mole is back down. Just kind of. OK, well then. So after that all happens, they're going to have step over here, kind of gingerly stepping away from the passed out mole just in case they partially electrocuted mole. Yeah, don't want it like waking up and grabbing at angles or anything. That'd be bad. First, I want to use a second wind. So that's a D10 plus one.

Eight. Eight damage, so I should be all healed up then. Yeah. Then we need to get this guy and dang. Miss really badly, but. That rolled a two on the thing, so nothing's going to happen except you missing. Wasted an arrow. OK, well, that's that's it. Maddie. So Uvo says that to her, don't be too proud. And then she's going to look back at him with like panic in her eyes and she's going to say to him, they're slaves, spare them and then look. And she's going to use her action to actually talk to them. Oh, all right. So I'm just going to make an assumption that since they're slavers probably spoke common, they can't do so.

That's an assumption on my part, though. And she's going to say, stop fighting. You're free now. You're you're the slavers are dead. And then persuasion hit me with a persuasion. Wow. This is one of the rare times a monitor was reading a newspaper or something. A monitor likes protecting me, not using persuasion. Look, I can't do everything. That's a five, everybody at home. These I think there's going to be like just a partial like a momentary hesitation. And then they're just they're just going to look at the unconscious slaver just a little ways away from them, about 10, 15 feet away.

And they're going to just kind of keep their their mace ready to go. She lowers her weapon, too. Oh, OK. Oh, oh, boy. She has her shield up, but she has lowered her weapon. Yeah. Molymber. She's God. OK. Someone's going to have to make decisions tonight. Here's one of those tables. What a game in handy. OK, so you are you're lowering your weapon. So you took you were having an offensive stance and then you just put it you just put the weapon down, right? Mm hmm. Here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to roll a saving throw. Ten or higher in this mole is going to have a change of heart and not attack Maddy.

Anything lower than that? I don't want to die. But. This mole is going to continue to attack Maddy. Oh, boy, here we go. That is going to miss one more swing. That is going to miss. Maybe he did have a good look. The guys are watching. I got a Jonathan. All right. He's going to quickly slide on over next to Maddy. And he's going to also he's going to drop his, I want to say, shield to the ground and use his free hand to like. I don't know if that would be relevant in combat, but like I would kind of do it like two fingers, push on the chest of that mole and also go on with wordy words instead of fighting.

OK, you heard her. Oh, and I'm speaking like Masoka. Hanging out together. You heard her back down. You've got no one else to protect except yourselves. Here's the thing. Each time you try to diplomasize these guys, it's going to tick up just a bit because the more they see that you aren't attacking them, the more convincing it is. So I want you to roll a persuasion check with a plus two, please. Yes, sir. Here we go. Wow. Twenty six. This mole is going to first of all, the chest poke. Not going to take too well to that, just like, hey, just just kind of just look at you like, Dick, don't.

But he is going to get the gist of what you're trying to say, because you you could have attacked him while he was focusing on Maddy. And he's going to look over to Maddy and then at his at his mole buddy. And he is going to he's going to drop his mace. And his body is going to see this. And then look down at the captain. Who is very much bleeding out and dead. And then he is also going to drop his mace. And that is going to take you guys out of combat. As soon as they both drop their maces, Maddy is going to rush over to the unconscious mole and stabilize them.

Oh, and it's going to say I watch carefully. It's good I did that. Aster isn't dropping their weapons just yet. I'm kind of still not super sure that it's completely over. But right. Well, now you guys have some decisions to make, and this is this is something I want to I want to start getting into here. You have an unconscious slaver. What is the what would be the general? OK, just getting out of this this this this combat tense are on fire and they're going to be they're going to be dying down after a bit because you can only burn so much. But this this camp is in shambles.

Most of the orcs are still OK, although I mean, they're they were in no condition to fight. Obviously, they're still getting their wits about them in the couple of minutes it took you to take apart all these guys. They're they're still very much, you know, in no shape to fight their their their lead orc or the one that was hurt the least, I guess, is dead on the ground. The slaver the the slavery captain's dead on the ground. What would be the what would be the feeling within the party here? How are you guys feeling after all this? I'd say Emmon feels that he is almost like any time we can disband a nouval group, feels good.

So he's feeling like he's getting rid of some of the scarier parts of Theria. So he's feel accomplished. How would Ubo be feeling? I mean, well, we killed the captain, right? We left a slaver unkilled, right? Yeah. Yeah. But unlike that. Ubo is kind of like still seething at how this fight went. And he sees that the plan is to, you know, oh, you know, protect the moles and he can he can understand that he can he can understand how you got there with them. But he walks over to the slaver. OK, I just want to say, like, if I see Ubo going over to the slaver, I would too, because I can get a feeling of what he's up to.

So I would I just want to be there to like stop his hand if he goes for it, like his throat. Yeah, I'd say I also slow down, buddy. But I let you know, you need to question him before I finish him. No, I think we're going to bring him back to Winterhaven. Think about it with this guy's information. You can kill even more slavers after that. Slavers, slavers. I love slavers. Ubo crosses his arms and looks at Donovan and says, go on. I mean, this group is not the only group, especially another round here, except we don't know where they are. It took us everything to get the information to find this group.

But when this guy wakes up, might get the chance to find even more camps like this. Can we kill him after he tells us that stuff? Well, once he's out of information, I don't know what value he has. Well, you'll see if you have this still feeling at that time. While they're talking, Astra is going to go ahead and tie this guy up and I guess also to take the arrow out. I'm going to take that back if I can, but yeah, go ahead and restrain him. And it's possible that there may be a bounty on this one. We could always get maybe more money from this. Oh, yeah, see?

And that Ubo just looks off to the side and spits and says, I don't want money. I want honor and I want free orcs. Well, we could either kill this guy now and you'd have killed one more slaver or you could wait a little more, slave more orcs and kill more slavers. Ubo thinks of it for a moment. Is this guy even like semi-conscious? Like, is he... I'd say he's out. Like the pain of it all is just... Actually, you know what? It's been a couple of seconds. I want to see something. Let's roll a SAVING STRO to see if he's going to start to kind of come to. You know what?

He's going to start to stir ever. Like I'd say Astor taking the arrow out is enough to like it's enough pain. It's like, oh, like that. So he's going to start to come to here, but he's still very much on the ground in a lot of pain. Can Astor like whap him on the head and put him back down? In a cartoon, yes. Do I have to roll for tying him up, by the way? Is that... I would say for the most part, if you want to see how well you did, you could do... Let me see. What would be appropriate? Roll a SURVIVAL check. Oh, yeah, that's that's some good knots. That's some Boy Scout knots right there.

That's... Eagle Scout. That's Eagle Scout level. So this guy is not going anywhere and he is, again, in a lot of pain and probably going to be very scared when he understands the situation. Ubo crouches down next to him and he kind of like puts his palm up under this guy's chin and like clenches his cheeks with his fingernails digging into the dude's cheeks. Ubo "You better have many answers. I am going to kill your friends and I will wear their spines as a totem." And then he just shoves him back to the ground and walks away. You're going to see this.

It's really dry dirt. You're going to see this. You're going to see this little kind of like a... Like, there is a combination of drool and blood encrusting the side of his face, and that dirt is just going to coat his face. He's going to go... But before Ubo thrusts his face into the dirt again, you're going to see fear, like pure unadulterated, fresh from the tap fear. Ubo just walks off to check on the orcs who are not fighting and who are just kind of malnourished and stuff. Do me a favor, Ubo, roll an investigation check. Investi- I don't do those.

Well, it's just... I just want to see what Ubo would pick up from the situation. Okay. Not much. Orcs are present. Wow, that is a three, ladies and gentlemen. Yeah. With the bonus. Not my gift. No, not your thing. These orcs are still very much like they are kind of looking after each other, and it looks like they were kind of getting ready to see if they could get weapons and join the fight. But they made it way too late. You could tell that they have been through a lot. They are coated in scars and they have been beaten and it looks like maybe starved for the most part.

Like fed the bare, bare minimum of what it would take to keep one of them alive. Before Ubo talks to them, he kind of looks him over and notices that and looks back to Aster and says, "Aster, you hunt tonight? We need meat." They'll give him a thumbs up. He nods back at you. And then he asks the orcs in Orcish, "What's the word I'm looking for? Clan or tribe or like, basically, where are you from?" You know, like, what's your- Right. Yeah. And that's that that would be that they would answer. First of all, normally under normal conditions, speaking to a half orc, they would probably be a little more curt with a response.

But seeing as how you guys kind of wrote in and saved their ass, they're going to skip that part. And they're going to relay to you in Orcish, which would be, you know, aggressive gibberish to the rest of the party. But they're going to relay to you that they are from the Mozog and they were in a hunting party. They had been captured. Probably relate to you how cowardly the means of their capture was. Like they got these piece of shit humans, got the jump on them and netted them and beat the crap out of them, drug them back. Like, there was no fair fight.

They set traps. They yeah, it was really crappy. So Ubo was, before his bad decisions, he was formerly Mozog, right? Like, yeah. So do they recognize the half-breed druid that was kept for magic? They would probably know of you. It's a large enough clan that they would probably know of you. But since they're hunting party, they were probably out most of the time. They have definitely heard stories of you, though. Probably not kind words. Yeah. Yeah. What are you going to do? He as well, Ubo, just in case they don't like make the connection, Ubo tells them, I am Ubo.

I was of Mozog. Now I travel with these and he waves at the rest of the party. If you want, we will take you back to Mozog lands. So again, he's going to be taking in this party, right? And kind of seeing that it just things are on fire. Like this is the best possible means for their escape. Like they get it. And they he's going to the one talking to Ubo is going to look to the rest of his party. And he's going to hold down his palm and touch his own chest. Groon. And he's going to further look down and assist the situation. We will travel together. Not with us.

And he's going to get there is this stubborn streak, right? And he's going to look. Do you OK? Do you know that thing where someone offers you something and you're like, oh, I couldn't know. And then they offer again. And then they offer that third time. And you're like, well, maybe I should because you really start reconsidering. He's going to look to the people next to him and they are in no shape to travel alone. And he's going to get it. And he's going to look at Ubo almost semi like fine. We go with you. It make more sense. Ubo just nods and says, we have good meat very soon.

Victory feast, feast of freedom. And the nostrils are going to flare a bit and just in groons going to hold out his hand, which is OK. I need to stress how unprecedented this shit is. That is not that's a sign of respect usually given to other orcs or someone who has done something of note. And this is this is a big deal. He's holding out for one of those like grizzly forearm handshake. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, which which movie am I thinking of? One of the Rocky movies where. Oh, are you talking about Predator? Or maybe I'm thinking of Predator. I don't know.

Anyway, that's the scene where Carl Weathers and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You son of a bitch. Thank you. Yeah, OK. Yeah, yeah, we do we do a manly action movie for arm shake. Oh, wow. OK, so bulging, flexing, all that. Yeah, and Ubo after that is just like walking away and like if anyone in the party is actually looking at him, he's trying to have like the toughest orcish look. But there is also like this like bit of glee leaking through that he can't seem to suppress. So he's making sure his face is turned away from the other orcs so they don't see like how much he needed this win.

And then he's looking around and he sees the slaver on the ground. He also notices the the flames that caused all the smoke in the air. And as he's looking at it, he kind of says it loud enough. Everyone here is kind of facing towards Donovan. He says we should probably make camp pretty far from here. I don't know if they're going to have reinforcements and I don't think we're ready to take on another group like this just yet. Astor is going to nudge their friend on the ground. They're all tied up. Really? So reinforcements say you got him buddy, friend, pal.

He so what's going to happen is he is going to. You're going to nudge him with your boot, right? And again, lots of pain. He is going to spit at Astor and he's going to get the fuck away from me. I'm going to raise my hand just like, let me try this, please. Just like don't kick it more. Astor was the plan. Kick him more. They're going to they're going to like they were about to like bend down and they're going to look like kind of a bit annoyed because it's like they can take care of themselves, but they'll let you do whatever you want to do. All right.

And then he looks at you and is like, if it doesn't work, you can kick him. He's going to bend. Yeah, he's going to bend on, get real close face to face with the guy at his level, which is very low on the ground. He's going to say, look, man, I have a half orc over here. He's ready to kill you right now. There's like six, there's a half dozen orcs who would do that in a second, too. So let me get this straight for you. I don't have as big a horse in this freeing orcs or getting revenge against slavers situation. So you can trust me on this. I'm only in it for myself.

So if you don't want to be killed, you're just going to help us give us information because otherwise I'm just going to step out of their way. You know why I'm doing this? I just want to drink skull splitter with the orcs and listen to their drum circles. That's it. I don't care if you live or die. Do me a favor and roll a persuasion check. Yes, sir. Almost sounded like intimidating. It's I finally, yeah. Finally, we're good cop than bad cop, but just barely. He's gonna he's gonna kind of glance around and he's got a bad vantage point because he's on the he's kind of tied up on the ground.

I'm picturing hogtied. I don't know. I'm tied up. I don't know what the different methods are off the top of my head. Well, hogtied is if you were to tie his hands behind his back and then kind of curl up his legs to his feet are also tied in that knot. Yeah, that sounds good. Okay, so again, he's going to kind of like wriggle like just try to look around the camp. Okay, maybe if I weren't in so much pain, I could help you a bit. Okay, so while all this is happening, all this stuff with Ubo and Donovan, Maddie was healing the mole and then Masoka is hovering over her.

So after she heals the mall, she's gonna like give him an assessing look like clearly a healer's look like nothing like looks at it looks him up and down and like, do you have any wounds? Like, why are you here? Not not saying why you here like do you have any wounds like do you need any further healing? No, no, I'm, I'm fine. Okay, good. And then she'll get up and just walk towards the slaver. Clearly in healer mode. And I guess that's when she walks over when he says I'm in a lot of pain. Like, she is not picking up on anything. Can I tell you how delighted I am that that could be a returning bit?

I just love this group. So, okay. So and then she'll cross her arms and be like, give us answer and give us answers and you'll get your healing. And she, like I said on the last episode, she looks like a cleric. So at that point when when Maddie walks over and like Astar is gonna like step away, he's like, okay, these guys clearly have this handled and they're gonna start looking around the camp scene if there's any like supplies or food left or anything because Ubo gave him the we need food thing. So, okay. So he is going to dangling the healing in front of him.

Fine. We were supposed to get reinforcements, but they're least a week and a half away. They're they're outside Donhurst to the east. They were supposed to come and collect the orcs, but they got they got delayed. We don't know why. I would like to incite this, please. Oh, okay. Well, Evan. Donovan would pretty much be listening to this, and I think it comes down to basic math at this point. He probably has less reasons to lie than to tell the truth. Being is how he's in a lot of pain. If he were waiting on somebody to get there, he probably wouldn't. You guys are planning on leaving anyway.

It's not like you're staying in this camp, so it seems like it's on the level. All right. So would Maddie heal? After that, at least bandage wounds, things like that. Personally debating a question, I don't even think she'd think of it. So now so she just she would look to Donovan for like, you know, like a look like, should I? Yeah, yeah. Sounds about right. Okay, so you I guess you give like the nod and then she'll crouch down and administer healing or medicine. She won't use her last spell on this guy. Oh, okay. All right. Do me a favor. Roll a medicine check.

Cool. That's one of my best ones. Watch, I do the worst. No. Oh, yeah, that's great. All right. So you're going to be bandaging up and try just like, yeah, so definitely plug up this arrow. Um, Astor, you're going to find some you're going to find some stuff around the camp, but it looks like these guys were running dry. Okay. So if you'd like to go hunting, we could roll for that. Yeah, they're probably going to let the party know that they're going to go out and see if they can grab something, at least for the orcs to eat, if not the rest of them. You want to help or you work better alone?

Um, it's up to you. I mean, if you want to come with and I don't mind, but it's whatever you want to do right now. Ubo looks at Astor and kind of looks back at the orcs and then says to the orcs in orcish, I will return with food, basically. And he nods at Astor and goes with Astor. All right. It's the last thing we're going to do today. So what I'd like... Oh, sorry. What's going on with the moles? The moles are honestly right now, the moles are just kind of getting their bearings. They aren't incredibly sure what to do. They're talking to each other in like almost like a broken sign language type thing, which is honestly a language they teach each other in secret.

The slavers don't give them ways to communicate. They understand common, but they can't speak it, obviously. So short of writing, which is difficult for most moles. So they kind of have this little trifecta here. They're speaking and they're essentially deliberating on what the hell their next move is and what they're going to go do. But what I'd like to do right this minute is I would like Astor to roll a survival check. Now I'm imagining Ubo is going to assist. Yeah. Okay. So let's get something ready on the table. Now I'm trying to remember exactly how it works for an assisted skill check.

I think it's advantage. Yeah, I'm reading it right now. I think that's it. I think it's advantage. Yeah. So essentially, Astor, do me a favor. Because Ubo's assisting, roll a survival check with advantage. Yeah. Yeah. Shit. Oh, wow. You guys are going to have a great, great little hunting expedition. So you're going to bag this huge boar, which I don't know how Ubo would feel about that. This is the second one. Right. This is so this area is just littered with them. So this is like a big this boar. Honestly, usually they're a little not lean, but muscular. This one kind of appeared a little slower, a little fatter.

Like maybe you had an easy life up until now, obviously. Oh, and just to be clear, Ubo doesn't care. I mean, it's predator prey circle of life thing. Like the fact that he turns into a boar is like incidental to who he is. Okay. Didn't know if you it's okay. I was one of you earlier today. Didn't know. No, no, no, no. This is omnivores eating. This is totally natural. Okay. Guys, I think it's a good time for us to stop for the evening. Now, what we're going to do when we pick up next time is we're going to I'm going to ask you guys a couple of questions. You're going to make a few decisions and we're going to journey back to the that orc encampment and you're going to speak to some orcs.

Oh, boy. Awkward. Okay. I don't know if that's where I should roll my diplomacy check. Hey, you get a second chance. Different stats, but okay. Guys, thanks a ton for sitting down and doing this. Sorry, we had a little interruption in the middle, but we got it in. We did it. Done did it. You guys did great. So next time there will probably be a lot more RP and a lot less combat.
