Ark 2, Episode 11 of the D&R Podcast is brought to you today by Easy Roller Dice. Guys, we recently went to Dragon Con just this last week and we had the opportunity to sit and play a game in person which is pretty much the first time we've ever had a chance to do that.
And what did we use? We used Easy Roller Dice. If you go to EasyRollerDice.com you can see a plethora of different color combinations, a variety of different types of dice. I sincerely hope you do check them out. Let them know we sent you. And you will not regret it. Stick around after the show and we'll tell you all about the wealth of stuff we're about to post on Patreon for the month of September, lots of stuff from Dragon Con, and a whole bunch of behind the scenes extras. Without further ado, let's get on with the show. Previously for Group B, the team came up with a plan to ambush the Fang by using Brelin and Kaldin as fodder, the ladies of the party planning to sneak them in as prisoners only to dupe the Fang into letting their guard down.
Unfortunately, along the way they were attacked by Razorflies, where sadly Kaldin lost a hand, defending himself from the insects. Kaldin passed out after Elina cut the rest of his arm off, accidentally slicing too high. While trying to figure out what to do next, the group found a camping spot near the Silver Glade just outside of Lockford. Continuing their trend of bad luck for that day, they were attacked by a Briar Troll in the fog. They narrowly managed to escape, and that's where we're picking up with things today. Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves.
I'm Jason, I'm the Dungeon Master, going around the table starting with Alex. Hey, I'm Alex and I play Brelin the Halfling Bard. And Karen. Hi, I'm Karen and I play Callie the Elven Druid. And Jamie. Hi there, I'm Jamie, I play Tatiana the Human Rogue. And Valerie. Hello, I'm Valerie and I play Elina the Human Fighter. And Ian. Hey, I'm Ian, I play Kaldin Halek the Half-Elf Sorcerer. And even though Kaldin lost his left hand, I think he's going to be all right. No! Get out, you gotta go. We've put you last for this. And goodnight everyone, goodbye. Love it, love it.
Hey, the Briar Troll caught up to you guys. [Laughter] Worth it, worth it. [Laughter] How's about we pick up, we pick up a little bit after the events of the last episode. I would imagine that the fog around Lockford is a very intimidating thing, especially after what just happened to you guys. And based on what we said last time, you are just streaking into the darkness away from camp, just trying to get away from this Briar Troll. And after a time, you hear this thing's roar behind you, it's not a threat to you anymore. I would imagine that eventually you all stop running and just sort of panting in the middle of this field, you would catch up with one another.
What would you like to do? It is still the fifth, late at night, fifth of Yes-T. What, how do you react, what do you do? Well, I think Tatyana would probably like collapse in on herself and she'd probably like put her hands on her knees and just fall to the ground, like panting. Brelyn would do the same, Brelyn would just fall backwards like a starfish. [Laughter] I think Calli is just going to stop and turn away from everyone and just throw up. Aww. Just like from nerves and like... I was just going to ask if Calli is not used to running, but it just sounds like it's just the pressure of everything.
Like there was a giant troll right in front of her and she like stood there for a minute and she can't believe she did that and all the adrenaline is just like rushing through her and she's starting to come down from it. I think Cauldron was running with Elena so he's probably like up on her shoulder and he probably just leans into that a little bit more and just looks at her real close and breathlessly is like, "Thanks." Elena will sort of try and get the both of them, start crouching down to have them sit on the ground and she'll sort of start looking Kaladin over, making sure that he's still okay and that his arm didn't just start bleeding again from all of the movement. And say, "Of course.
Do you feel okay? Like, does your arm hurt?" I guess that's a stupid question. Does your arm hurt a lot? Yeah, yes. Yeah, it still hurts quite a bit, but I'm okay. Thank you. I just want to say, I really am sorry. I didn't mean to. Don't worry about it. Not for now. Let's gather our wits and collect ourselves. We can talk about it later. I think to break sort of the awkward silence, she's like looking around at everybody and while on the ground Tatiana is just going to say, "Well, fuck me. That was close." Brelyn's going to go fall off on the floor. Close is one word for it.
He's going to roll over on his stomach and kind of push himself off the ground. And his hands are shaking. And then I think this is the point where he's pushed himself the furthest he's ever pushed himself physically. So he's going to look at the group and say, "We got to find a place to rest that isn't outside." Should we continue into Lockford? I mean, I'm not going in there. He's going to point back towards where the direction we came from was. We're still what, like a day away? Not a day. You're still hours away. You guys made it pretty far last time, actually.
It was kind of the cutoff. And just for clarification, I know we were talking about a little bit, but have we missed the window of meeting? Was it supposed to be this morning? It would have been earlier in the day, but circumstances were not cooperating with you guys. You lost time with the insects. You ended up camping near the Silverglade. But worst case scenario, as I've already described to you guys, they're not going to completely leave the area. They're just going to give it time. They didn't meet who they were looking for on the road. So they'd probably just back up to Lockford and stay in an inn or whatever.
Well, Kaldin's going to stand up then and say, "That was close. A bit of bad luck, but I say we keep moving ahead. This..." and he gestures to his arm. "This doesn't change anything." Paralang's going to look at him, kind of tilt his head sideways. "Bad luck? Kaldin, you lost a fucking arm! Are you kidding me? We need to see a priest. We need to find a miracle worker or something." "Well, we can't find one out here. And it's further... Fair Bay is further from here than Lockford." "Yeah, I guess you're right." He's going to look kind of defeated, just putting his head down.
You know those guys are in Lockford, right? "I know. Maybe our plan needs some revisiting. But hey, maybe this will make it somewhat more convincing if we decide to keep going forward." "Yeah, maybe they'll think one of the ladies here cut your arm off because you're giving them the lip." Some small good fortune, at least. He sort of just puts his arm, like, gripping it. Because I imagine it fucking hurts a lot. "Oh god, yeah. He's probably pumping blood into it." Yeah, he's just like a guy burned and stuff and he's just like... And I think he probably just doubles over a little bit.
"Yeah, Brelyn's going to turn to the rest of the party. What do you say, ladies? Lockford?" "Yeah, we should have a cleric check him out." "I don't think any of us are going to sleep anytime soon." Tatiana will hop off the ground and sort of, like, she's caught her breath at this point and she's going to just literally hop off the ground and with a smile. "You know, at least we're all being kept in our toes while we're traveling with you." "Yeah, sorry about that. I don't think if we made a contract, I'm sure we would have made, like, tiny fine print about that." "No, it's good.
It's good for the heart." "I need to look at Cauldron, bad for the arms, and give him a kind of sideways smile." "Cauldron will give, like, a little try and smile through a grimace, but like..." "I would say, since I just had you guys roll, that we're just going to continue through the night. Now, you are not far from Lockford, the town proper." "It's going to be late by the time you're going to see, you know, pinpricks of light in the distance." "When I say light, I mean lantern light, obviously. And when I say late, I'm talking like 2.30, 3 in the morning.
Like, it's late." "That's like if you're not a party monster like Bralyn and Cullen." "Right." "Well, at least I don't have to worry about accidentally running into those people." "Yeah, they should be asleep." "Right, hopefully." "Hopefully." "I mean, we should think about our layout, right? Because we're supposed to be prisoners, question quotation marks." "Yeah, go over it." "Do we need to retire? Do we need to retire ourselves up, or?" "I don't think we need to retire." "You don't need to be tied up, yeah, you're good." "If we're going to still do that, I don't know, things might have changed a little bit now." "I'd say before we get too close, Bralyn's going to look to the rest of the group and be like, 'Okay, well, what's the plan now?'" "Well, they don't seem to be on the road.
We may have missed the meeting." "Um, likely they're, if they've been stood up waiting for someone, they're probably at an inn or tavern." "Certainly this late at night, anyway." "So, we should avoid whatever inn or tavern they're staying in, basically." "Yeah, I think that's a good idea." "They might be wearing that distinctive armor, that might be something we can inquire about once we get into Logford." "We do have some cover of knights, so we might be able to get in without too much trouble." "Bralyn's going to look at Tatyana. How good are you at scoping things out?" "I mean, I can do my best. They know me, so if I go in ahead of time..." "Oh yeah, they'll spot you." "We can always get a room and then just scope things out.
From there, you guys could stay hidden in the room." "That's a good idea." "That sounds good." "You want to be the one to get it? He's going to look at Kali and Elena. They don't know you guys." "Yeah, we can find something." "And he's going to have a big smile. Good, then you can wear the disguises too, right?" "Oh, I think I lost mine on the side of the road." "Oh, really?" "So, I'm so sorry." "But you can pay for the rooms then, right?" *laughs* "Yes." "Excellent, then that's a good plan, right, Braylon? That sounds good." "That sounds pretty fair." "We'll stay to the alley and yeah." "Yeah, we'll be on lookout back here.
Yeah, good idea." "We've got your back." "Thanks." "Wow." "The old team is back." "I love how you played The Salvation Army on that one. That's good. I like that." "Oh, can you please buy us a room? I'm missing an arm, please." "So heading into town here, just to be clear, you're all going in, but it feels like Callie and Elena are going to be leading the charge and everyone else kind of sticking to alleyways and such?" "I thought we were staying outside town." "Are you just staying completely outside town?" "Oh no, I think we could go in town. I don't think they're just hanging out at the walls or the palisades or whatever.
Then it's night, we could probably go in and hang out in the alley or hang out in the back if the coast is clear." "Yeah, I'm sure all three of us, especially Tatiana and myself and Calvin have some sort of hoods or something if we escape the... what's it called? Why am I blanking on the name?" "So you're just going in incognito. Alright. So there are guards posted at the front gates and Lockfort has this... this seven and a half foot tall stone wall that surrounds the place. It's definitely... it wouldn't keep most things out. It's more for peace of mind, kind of a section off the town.
And the gate guards are going to welcome you in with open arms as soon as they see you, kind of." "Oh, arms. Come on." "Oh, geez." "You're so sensitive." "But they're gonna... Oh, well, hello. And just kind of very... kind of lightly dressed, kind of in leathers. And the one's gonna... kind of big floppy hat's gonna lower his head. Oh, good to see you all this evening. Please, please come in. It's dangerous outside, you know." We know. "Yes, we know." And he like gestures to his mutilated body. "Did that happen? Did that happen here?" "Just outside, I'm afraid.
We got attacked. And I lost it there. I do need to see maybe someone about healing. Is there anyone in town that's around that can look at this that you know of?" "Oh, good gods, man. I'm terribly sorry. Well, Jordana might be able to help, but her shop's definitely closed for the day. And he's going to recoil just a bit. I would advise that you stay away from the half full keg tonight. But the inn still has some rooms. They could accept you, I'm sure. You and your crew, he's going to gesture back to the crew. I don't see why that would be a problem at all.
You get some sleep, and I'm sure Jordana could help you in the morning." "What's going on the half or keg? Is that a bar? Or pub?" "Ah, half full keg. It's..." "Half full, sorry." "Well, it's usually a wonderful little bar, but we have some visitors in town right now, and it's a little rambunctious tonight. You can probably hear them from here if you listen closely. He's going to point down the street, and a lot of people's lights are just completely out, but there are going to be a lot of lanterns lit in that bar. You're also on the other side of the street.
Down a ways, you're going to see a lantern outside of the inn, which is a common practice. As long as there's vacancies, it's kind of to let people know, "Oh, yeah, you can stay here." "And they're at the pub right now?" "Yes, little lady, they sure are." "Perfect. We'll be going to the inn then." "Do they happen to have armor, pauldrons with red on them? Any visitors like that in the last couple of days?" "He's going to be nodding his head furiously." "Yep, those would be the ones." "How many do you know?" "I stopped counting after a while." "Mmm." "Again, they've pretty much taken over the tavern.
If you ask me, they seem like world-class assholes, but that's off the record." "Strictly. We could use the influx of money. I know we're trying to rebuild Lochford as a tourist destination, but I would rather keep people like that out of town." "When Bralen hears the guy say 'tourist destination,' he's going to chuckle slightly and look back at the direction they came from." "And then look back at the guard and give him a side smile." "So the guy's a pretty average-looking tiefling, right?" "And he's going to extend a hand." "You folks seem like good sort of people." "Name's Taron." "Taron, pleasure to meet you.
And he'll reach out his hand." "He would initially hold out his right and shake hands and be like 'I'm sorry.'" "It's fine." "Again, I'm sure Jordana can help you. I'll tell you what. In the morning, you swing by her shop, you tell her I sent you, and she'll take great care of you." "Taron, was it?" "It is, uh, Lochford's sheriff." "Excellent. Well, thank you very much. Yeah, I will be sure to mention that. And thank you for having us in your town." "Well, good luck getting rest. I doubt me or the boys are going to be getting much of it. I'm going to keep an eye on the tavern." "If these people give you any trouble whatsoever, you come get me." "I'm sure we won't need that, but thank you for the offer." "And he'll doff his cap to you again." "So the inn, it sounds like." "For now." "Did Taron have a badge?" "No, just wore a..." "Did he have the floppy hat?" "Was he wearing a red shirt because he's a tiefling?" "As a former red shirt, I want to make sure that this gentleman isn't put on the slate." "So walking down the main street here in Lochford, there's a ton of history going on here, right?" "And a lot of these buildings, if you've heard anything about Lochford, a lot of these buildings have been repaired." "Some of them built from the ground up because of some unpleasantness that occurred here a couple of years ago." "All down Main Street, all the way leading to Town Hall." "There were battered down doors and shredded windows and all that stuff." "And these people have come a long way in just a couple of years." "Slapping on fresh coats, paint, all that stuff, it looks a lot better." "It's a nice, warm little town." "Now of course, the fog that's creeping down around your ankles here is a little foreboding." "But it's not as bad as it was outside, that's for sure." "Less trolls." "Less trolls." "As you walk down Main Street, you're going to hear a lot of commotion coming from your right as you near this tavern here." "And the half full keg is actually a beautiful little wooden building." "And you're going to hear a lot of loud laughing, screaming, a lot of music playing that type of thing." "And every once in a while, you're going to hear the sound of wooden chairs scrape a hardwood floor as someone stands up." "Maybe dispute over cards, or minor tussles, that type of thing, it sounds rowdy." "Which doesn't really fit the aesthetic of a town like this." "That's the kind of stuff you'd hear in Brightport, something like that." "But if you guys keep walking, there's no one standing outside." "Oh god." "Well I was just going to say that as we're passing it, Tatiana will probably stop and look towards the group because she is really fighting herself not to go in right now." "Knowing that Ripley could be in there, she's really fighting herself, probably has her hand on her sword." "Oh I gotta stick to the plan though!" "And she'll keep walking with the group." "Calden, if he notices her stopping, he'll probably step over to her and maybe put his hand on her shoulder and be like, 'Are you anxious Tatiana?'" "I wouldn't say anxious, more eager." "I see, well maybe once we get situated, I mean, you might be able to scope it out a little bit, see what we're up against." "She'll sort of nod and continue forward towards the inn." "Walking inside this inn here, it's a two floor establishment, and it's called the Whispering Pillow." "I love it, beautiful." "I'm already asleep." "So you walk in the Whispering Pillow and there is this tiny little fireplace, but it's putting out a remarkable amount of heat." "It looks like the fire is kind of dying down, a couple of glowing red logs in there, just a lot of embers and stuff, but it just feels nice." "Like if someone owns a cast iron furnace, like a stove type of thing, it's just like, 'Ooh, yeah, that feels nice.'" "It kind of takes the chill off the room." "And there's going to be a halfling lady behind the counter reading something, and it's going to perk up as soon as you walk in." "Hi, can I help you folks?
You looking for a room?" "Just kind of very, not rambunctious, but you can tell that maybe they haven't talked to anybody all night." "Yeah, we were looking for maybe one or two. I guess it depends on how much your rooms are for the night." "I assure you, it's the cheapest rooms you're going to find, well, anywhere in town. I'm the only inn." "Oh, okay." "It's three gold a room." "Okay, we'll take two then." "Fantastic! If you bump it up to five gold a room, I'll clean all your gear and your boots and get them back by your door in the morning." "It's not like I'm sleeping anyway tonight." "Um, that's okay, just the three gold is fine." "Okay, and she would take the six gold from you." "That's going to take you down to... wait, hold on a second." "I already changed it." "Ah, gorgeous!" "I'm down to five gold, guys." "I was half of my money." "You mind if I ask you wonderful folks what you're doing in town?" "Well, we were just traveling through and, well, it's been a rough few days, so we just wanted to take the night to sleep." "This one lost an arm." "I try to wave." "Oh, she's gonna, oh man, she's gonna look..." "You just lost that?" "Mm-hmm, but I'm a bit sensitive, so if you wouldn't mind not spreading it around." "No, I am so sorry." "I'm hoping to get something done about it here." "I'll tell you what, you folks just go rest, get settled in, I'll bring you something hot to eat, okay?" "That sounds lovely." "Free of charge, just go relax." "I knew the pity thing would work, I knew it." "Oh my gosh.
Actually, I have a question for you before we go." "We were supposed to meet up with a few of our friends." "I didn't know if they were staying here at this inn, obviously, because it's the only one in the town, right?" "Well, yeah, who you looking for specifically?" "And she's got this little book of people that's staying." "Oh, I don't know if I want to name them by name." "They just, they had like some red painted on their armor, like on the arm shoulder." "Oh, they're your friends." "Well, that would be a very loose term." "We're an acquaintance." "Well, um, a couple of them checked in, most of them have been in the tavern all night, can I?" "And she's gonna, she's gonna lean over and whisper." "Can I be honest with you folks?" "Please." "They kind of seem like assholes." [Laughter] "That's what we've heard too. We haven't actually met them yet, we were supposed to meet up on the road." "Oh, okay, okay, that makes way more sense. Don't meet them." [Laughter] "I love this lady." [Laughter] "Well, maybe we'll breeze by the tavern and see how terrible they truly are and make our decisions then." "Well, good luck." "If at all possible, maybe you could give us a room the furthest away from them.
We want to make our first meeting a surprise." "Sure, yeah, I could set that up. Let me just get your names in my book here and I'll get started." "My name is Hermano." "I'm croquet." "And she's going to, she's gonna write this down. And then she's gonna look at Elena." "Is my name Elephant?" "Elevator." "Elevator, okay, I was like, I don't remember. Um, elevator." "And then Tatiana." "Guys, I didn't come up with the names." "Well, now's the time." "Tatiana is going to look around the room and what does she see, Jason?" "Do me a favor." "I love lamp." [Laughter] "Oh my god, do me a favor, roll a perception check." "Okay." [Laughter] "Well, you're gonna see like a lot of cobblestone architecture.
There's a bear, there's like a bearskin rug type of deal in here." "And then lots of cordwood stacked by the fire. That's all you're going to notice in the general vicinity." "Okay, Tatiana is gonna like sort of like really quickly look around the room, anxiety strewn across her face and she's just gonna say, 'My name is Ruggie Cobblebear.'" [Laughter] "She's gonna look up and just that expression dogs get when it's like, 'I don't know,' it's like that." "My parents are huge drunks. I don't know what else to, how to explain that to you, but." "Okay, she's gonna look over her braille." "What about you, cutie?" "Well, my name is Enrico Duchamp.
You see, I'm a prospector. I'm with these people, fine people here and you can write that name, spelled E-N-R-I-Q-U-E, Duchamp, D-U-C-H-A-M-P." "She's gonna blink several times." "That is not the voice I expected to come out of you. I'm so sorry. I just..." "Oh, that's fine, that's fine. I get it all the time." "You don't, don't mind me, you don't look like a prospector? You look a little clean for that." "That's because I have my friends who do most of the dirty work for me." "Oh, so you have help. You must be pretty successful. And she's gonna be leaning in." "Well, you know, I've had my fair share of wins these days, but really, we ought to be getting, you know, hitting the hay.
We were exhausted and my friend just lost his arm." "Of course. I'm really sorry about your mining accident, sir." "Yes, that's what happened." "Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. It's gotten harder and harder to help you with the prospecting." "Mm-hmm, I understand." "I'll leave you folks to your room. Again, hot meal coming right up. I'll see what I can go grab for you." "Oh, well, God bless you, ma'am." "And she'll leave you, she'll let you have keys, and it's way at the far end of this establishment. Kind of a corner, couple of corner rooms here." "Oh, perfect." "Ruggy Cobble Bear?" "Oh, sorry.
I couldn't let that go." "Ruggy Cobble Bear, everybody." "I think we get to the room and Brian's gonna start coughing. Oh, God, and start smoking. God." "So, let me ask you a question. Are you looking to get some sleep for the night or something else?" "God, if part of me wants to go check out that tavern." "I was gonna say, we have like three things we gotta do, right?" "First thing is all the magic users, me, and well, Karen still has a lot of spells left, yeah?" "I got a couple of spells left." "Well, I would say Braylon's exhausted. In-game, he's exhausted.
He's useless right now. He can't do anything." "So, he would need to rest, but in-game, he would tell the group, 'If you think taking a scope out of that bar is a good idea, then that's probably one of the courses of action we should take.'" "Tatiana, how sneaky are you? 'Cause if you wanna come, I'm just afraid that you'd be spotted by Ripley, maybe." "I mean, I don't wanna toot my own horn, but I'm pretty stealthy. But part of me is thinking that it might just be better to let him see me." "Braylon's gonna look really confused. Come again?" "Well, he doesn't know that I particularly feel burned by him, so if I were to go into the tavern and act like nothing was wrong, it would be fine." "Kylo's gonna nod his head, like, 'Yes,' and he's like, 'That sounds really clever.
Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to back you up, but if you need it, I'll find some strength.'" "Well, one of us could go with you. You know, you probably wouldn't travel alone all the way out here, right?" "Very true. Are you two--" and she'll look towards Alina and Callie and ask, "Are you two okay with acting like a couple thugs?" "Ooh, I'm not very good at lying, honestly." "Also, our names are Elevator and Croquet." "Right, elevator, croquet, right." "I could go with you, but if I could be silent, I guess, I'm not very good at pretending to be something else." "Kalden's just gonna collapse onto a bed, I think, at this point." "You two should stay here and rest.
You look exhausted, you lost an arm, like--" "Bralin's asleep in the chair already. He's not even awake anymore." "I'm just waiting for Kalden to be like, 'Can we drop the arm, please? Can we stop mentioning it?'" "Yeah, I think Kalden will just be sitting there on the bed and like, 'Don't worry about me. I'll look after him.'" "It sounds like Kalden and Brailin are staying behind?" "Yeah, I think so. I mean, don't split the party, but it sounds like you guys got it." "Yeah, and I think canonically, I think Kalden's exhausted." "Oh yeah." "Plus, we're not supposed to be running around Lockford either." "That's true." "So let me ask a question here.
What's the course of action?" "What are the rest of you guys gonna be doing?" "How do you want to handle this?" "Well, I wouldn't think we were going there to fight. I would think we would be going there to get information." "Right." "I don't want to have the fight without Kalden and Brailin." "Oh yeah, no. This is, uh, I mean, we could like, pretend like we're going there for fun." "We could like try and sort of, I mean, it really all depends on if we're still going with the game plan of we're like bringing Brailin and Kalden to them." "On how much we want to like, really show ourselves to the group." "And at the very least, like, maybe find out what their numbers are." "It sounds like there's a lot, but we might be able to get a better..." "Don't have to stay there for very long." "Right.
Just have a couple drinks." "Yeah, go in and have a couple drinks. Get out." [Laughter] "Why'd you laugh at that, Jason?" "Yeah, Jason." "I didn't. I, that was, I remembered a joke from before. Let's..." "What?" [Laughter] "So you're, you're walking, you're, you're, you're going to walk downstairs essentially and leave the inn and walk across the street and go to the Half-Fool Keg." "Am I understanding the sequence of events?" "Yes. Before going in though, Tatiana is going to pull her shirt down a little bit." "Oh, oh, wow." "Whoops, whoops." "Go in there." "Showing off the goods." "Also, I get up and notice you guys don't have the costumes." "Sleeze ball, like it's, it's fine." "Now..." "Can you do that thing where you take the bottom and tuck it into the top and then like pull it?" [Laughter] "Now, for all of our Therian fan artists out there, is Tatiana particularly well endowed?" "I would say she's like average." "Okay." "Yeah." "Okay.
So nothing that would get in the way of sneaking." "Nothing that would get in the way of sneaking." "Oh my goodness." [Laughter] "We are talking about her dick, right? How well in our dick is?" "Yes." "Okay, Tatiana's super hung." "She's no Goliath, okay?" "She's no Goliath." "She's no Goliath." "Well, that's basically, it's like, is this a running theme? It's just all of them." [Laughter] "All of Jamie's characters are stacked. That's the, that's the theme. So, okay." "Tatiana, Elena, Callie are going to be just outside this bar and you're going to smell something." "Is it pee?" "No, it's not, I mean, no more than usual, but like, outside of establishments like this, that's, you get a faint whiff of like, oof, yeah, that's, I'm downwind of that alley over there." "This is more of a pungent, kind of, kind of almost an overpowering smell.
Do me a favor, all of you roll a nature check." "Oh, this is a good sign." "Tatiana would recognize that as a drug, actually, black grass, which is, is essentially Therian's answer to weed." "But it's, it's, it's this really powerful stench that accompanies it. It's, it's, it kind of smells like a bog on fire." "And that's, that's kind of what it smells like. And it's, it's wafting out of this place, like you can, you can, you can smell it." "And just before you hit the door and open it, it's, it's gonna, it's gonna flick open and that, that smell is just gonna like, whoo, just kind of hit you in the face." "And it's gonna be this, this human, kind of, kind of pale skinned in a lot of areas, a little blotchy here and there, like he's, like he's got some sunburn." "And he, he did not expect anybody to be on the other side of this door.
He's kind of stumbling out of this place and just, 'Ahh, ohh, ohh,' and, and just stopped dead." "And he's really bleary eyed, just gonna blink like four or five times." "Ahh, I'm sorry. And he's, he's gonna, he's kind of wavering, just kind of, you know, 'Ahh, I was ready to, I'm so sorry. Are you okay?'" "I'm already regretting everything." "Um, so I think it makes sense that Tatiana would know what that smell is because she probably smoked it with her old crew." "If this was like a running theme with them, that would make sense." "I guess she'll just say, 'Oh yeah, we're fine.
We're just coming to get a drink.'" "Ohh, okay. I won't stand in your way. I, ooh, and he's gonna, he's gonna look at Callie." "Oh no." "Oh, why not Adelina?" "This is gonna be a racist thing, isn't it?" "What is your name?" "No one likes me ever." "Go with it. Go with it. We're undercover." "She's gonna like, okay, Callie is gonna like, kind of grimace a little bit. And like, well, if you buy me a drink, maybe I'll tell you." "Ohh, okay, alright." "And he is going to sidle up next to Callie and wrap his arm around her." "Ew." "The stink coming off of this man is, it makes the air around you thicker.
He smells like a combination of the black grass we were talking about. And, how can I put this? If you could taste ass in the air, that's pretty much what he smells like. And a lot of it's coming from his hair, which are these, um, these, these really like fat dreads that are kind of resting on Callie's shoulder now as he, he almost like a cat kind of like rubs, like rubs his head against yours. "I will buy you, awwww, the drinks." "What?" And he's kind of like pushing, pushing Callie into the establishment." "Cool." "So Callie wouldn't fight this. Callie would just kind of go in." "No, I think she's trying to use them as like a cover to like, just like get in without making a lot of, you know, a lot of noise." "Right." "Hmmm." "It's gonna be gross, but she's gonna go with it." "Right.
So, this, this gentleman is going to walk back into this bar like a conquering hero. And the, you know, as soon as you guys walk back in, "Heyyyyyyy!" Like just like this high pitched banshee shriek at the rest of the bar to get everyone's attention." "I brought ladies." "And he's gonna, he's gonna clutch at Callie, like golem in the ring, just like this one's mine though, like that type of thing, and kind of usher her over toward the bar." "These two, these two don't have guys." "And he's just gonna like motion towards the rest of the bar." "Do me a favor, everybody, give me a perception check, just to, I want to see how much of this bar you're taking in." "Come on." "Yes, take it all in." "Tatiana's in her element." "These are my people." "Just casing the joint." "Alayna isn't, I'd say Alayna is so out of her element right now. Just like, I think it's just, there's a sea of eyes looking at the three of you and it's just like, ehhh, like that type of thing kind of climbing up." "And Callie is gonna pick up, there's a Gitzurai bartender here who looks pretty frazzled.
This is not his usual scene. Painting around the bar, you're gonna see a lot of those red painted shoulder guards here." "If you were to count, it would be nearly two dozen." "Holy shit, okay." "And it is loud in here, that type of thing. And there's, the way the bar's set up, there's kind of a room tucked away in the back and it's pretty much packed with these people. They're just moving around. There's a second floor of the building too, they're kind of hanging over the balcony." "There's a couple of ladies in here, but they look to be busy with some of these gentlemen." "I must also say that it's not all men.
For those of you who get a mental picture painted, there's some ladies here with the red shoulder guards too, so." "All of them have a very specific look about them, which is to say, kind of dirty looking, smelly, look like they live on the road a lot, that type of thing." "A couple of things are gonna happen. I'd say eight or nine of these guys are gonna stand up the second they see you in here like hungry wolves." "Hell." "Now, beyond that, Tatiana's gonna notice a couple of things. One, she's gonna recognize a couple of faces. One being a long haired gentleman toward the back of this establishment that is going to lock eyes with her instantly." "And start to slowly stand up from where he's sitting.
And that would be Ripley. The rest of these guys, there's a couple that are gonna hoave in and sort of..." "Surround isn't the right word, but definitely congregate near Elena and Tatiana. And one of them is going to kind of put an arm around Elena and start to pull on her towards the back." "Come on, you go sit near me." "See, I wanted attention and now I don't." "That's the way it works." "Elena's a pretty strong person, right? So she's gonna try and sort of counterweight against him, or away from him so that she doesn't move. She goes, 'No thanks, I'm good over here.'" "So just not budge while he's pulling.
Because it would be more of an influencing... He's not forcefully trying to drag Elena away, it's more like, 'Come on.' Because he's gonna look at it like, 'Well, yeah, you're here to hang out with us, that's why. That's why you're here, come on in.' That type of thing." "And he's gonna start to walk away, but he's presuming, 'Oh, I'm walking away with you.' And then you don't move, he's like, 'Oh.' And he's gonna kind of sidle back up to Elena and kind of get in her ear." "What's wrong? You don't want to come sit with me?" "I'm sorry, I'm just imagining this happening to me in real life, and I'm gonna sit in my front of Elena." "This is why I don't go outside, because shit like this might happen to me." "Yup, those bandits.
You gotta watch out for those bandits." "Come on, don't you want to keep me company?" "Okay. Get ready for this, guys." "Elena is... 'Cause the three of us are all sort of standing together still, right?" "Well, Callie at this point is a little closer to the bar, I would imagine. So it's sort of Elena and Tatiana a little sectioned off in the group, I would imagine." "This might throw a wrench into the works, but this is what Elena's gonna do." "She's going to reach towards Tatiana and try and grab her hand or arm or something, and she'll be like, 'Oh, really, I don't need to.
I'm here with someone already.' And then look back at Tatiana." "Do me a favor, roll a deception check for me." "Can I roll an assist if I kiss her?" "Yes, you can!" "Okay, perfect." "You know what? Um, here's the thing. Okay, how intense are we talking as a kiss?" "I'm talking like, Tatiana is picking up what she is putting down, like that she is uncomfortable, and she is just gonna grab her by the nape of the neck and like, French her." "Wow." "Oh, no!" "Okay, you know what? Elena, do me a favor, roll a deception with advantage." "Okay." "Wow, that's good.
That's good stuff. This guy is gonna back off just a little bit and nod his head." "Ah, okay, okay. Well, you know what?" "And he's gonna, he's almost undeter-- like it's like, 'Okay, okay.' Like it's a math equation someone just threw up on a blackboard." "Well, if you both wanna come over to my table at some point, I got plenty of room. Trust me." "And he's gonna back up just a little bit, like it's okay, I threw the fishing line out, now it's your turn to bite, that type of thing. Utter confidence." "This dude." "Can we come over to Cali for just a second before we move over? 'Cause I don't wanna forget about Cali, like that's just rude." "So, the smelly gent, he's kinda flagging over the bartender." "Hey pretty lady, what are you gonna drink tonight?" "Um, what is the strongest thing that they have?" "Oh boy." "Oh no." "Is it skull splint?" "No." "It's probably like that Dormin thing, isn't it?" "It's Blackout, that would be the top shelf, 'I wanna get fucked up tonight' beverage." "Hmm, is there a way to signal to the bartender that she should get us two shots of that, but not really two shots, just one for him and something light for me?" "I don't know how to, like, just be like, let's have two shots of the strongest you have and like, kinda turn away from him a little bit and just be like, make emotion like, something less for me." "Ah, I'll tell you what, roller persuasion check." "Oh god, they're so bad." "Roller persuasion check and see if, see if, holy shit!" "Damn!" "So this gentleman behind the bar is Gizarai, which is a little rare on the mainland, on Allara, and he's gonna, look, he's not a moron, right?
He's gonna see what's going, it's like, oh icky, so okay, and he's gonna kinda like, his eyes are gonna widen just a tiny bit, like, mm-hmm, mm-hmm." "And, uh, this gentleman is, he's gonna, he's gonna, he's gonna get your order and then, oh, okay, you're super expensive." "A little high maintenance, what can I say?" "Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, that's okay, that's okay, and he's gonna, he's gonna like, brush your hair back behind your ear and then just sort of like, slide his hand behind, behind Callie's neck and just start to kind of like, like absentmindedly like, like a spider rub type of thing." "Ah, I kinda like that, actually, I like a lady who knows what she wants." "Are the shots here yet? Can I just like, dip it in his mouth?" "Soon, they're, they're, they're, bartenders, bartenders getting it." "Kay." "My name's Trent, baby." "Oh no!" "Oh god, I hate you so much!" "I blame us all on Valorated Soul, Valorated Soul." "All because I thought there was a guy named Trent." "Well now there is!" "Oh god, I don't even want to tell him my fake name." "Well that's, that's the thing he's gonna, he's gonna, he's gonna inquire, again, he's, he's slid his bar stool right next to, right next to Callie's. So their, their, their cheeks are touching basically, like he's right there." "Mm-hmm." "So, am I gonna get a name or are you gonna keep me in suspense all night long?" "Cheese!" [Laughter] "Let's cut back." "That's the same word, right?" [Laughter] "Let's cut back to Tatiana and Alena, because there's a man across the bar who is going to close the gap between the two after the kiss." "Well, immediately after the kiss, Tatiana is going to take off her hat and put it in the air and be like, 'That's right, the party has arrived!
Who is gonna buy two pretty girls a drink?'" "Oh boy. As you could imagine, a lot of these gentlemen, a couple of the ladies now, are going to move toward the front of this, this establishment. And the bartender is going to be inundated with drink orders. The, the, the gent with long hair is not deterred though, and he's going to be pushing people out of the way. He hasn't spoken a word yet, but his eyes have been locked on Tatiana's the entire time. Really intense stare. And at this point, he's going to be within like five feet of Tatiana, and he's going to reach out and try to put a hand on, on her shoulder.
And it's the one, see, what he's trying to do is he's trying to put a hand in between Tatiana and Alena." [Laughter] "Hmm." "And again, hasn't said a word yet." "Well, I think that she had purposefully been like escaping his gaze, like she was not looking at him, she wanted the attention of the bar." "Uh huh." "Like she wanted him to see her, obviously." "Oh yes." "She didn't, she didn't want him to think that she was focusing in on him." "Right." "And as he's sort of approaching, she'll like surprisingly notice him." "Oh, you go here too?" "Oh my gosh, Ripley! Hey, what are you doing here?" "He is going to lean in and try and plant a kiss on Tatiana's cheek. And you're gonna, unless you, unless you kind of push him away, you're gonna feel this, this, this chin scruff.
Like it's not a beard, but it's that 'I haven't shaved in five or six days' look. Hmm. And he's gonna, he's gonna kind of plant like a gentle kiss on Tatiana's cheek." "As long as it's on the cheek because I'm committed." "He can see that." "Hello baby." [Laughter] "Elena's gonna like look between the two of them and then look at Tatiana and say, 'Oh, is this that Ripley guy you were talking about? Hi, it's so nice to meet you.' And look over at him and like she'll bring out her hand to shake." "He'll shake it. Maybe, maybe a little more firmly than he would normally.
Not, not squeezing." "She looks a bit firm too." "Right." "She's strong." [Laughter] "That's all I have." "And he's gonna, he's gonna, not really, like very momentarily breaking eye contact with Tatiana and looking at Elena then right back to Tatiana. 'Oh, it has been too long, baby. Where have you been all this time?' "I'm hating this voice so much." "Then I'm doing my job." [Laughter] "Is he still like leaned into her?" "I'd say he would have leaned back after the kiss but still probably uncomfortably close." "Okay." "Probably a little bit invading that personal space type thing." "Okay. She'll just sort of casually say and she's like bouncing her gaze from Ripley to Elena like back and forth.
Like this is a conversation. 'Oh, well you know we've been around and about just sort of bouncing from town to town.'" "You don't say. [Laughter] "God, it's been, how long has it been, baby?" "Gosh, I don't know. How long has it been?" "And she's gonna sort of like recount in her mind, 'Oh, you know, probably around like six or eight months, like somewhere around there.'" "Oh, it's been too long. I've been lonely without you." "And he's gonna be taking his right hand and kind of stroking up and down Tatiana's arm." "At that, Elena, to try and like, you know, make it a little more lighthearted, she'll be like, 'Oh, don't worry about her.
I've been keeping her company.' And smile." "Yeah." "Shots fired." "I'm sorry, I didn't, uh, I didn't get your name." "And he's gonna be looking at Elena." "Uh-huh. Oh, this, ooh, this is a bad idea. But, okay, okay. Oh, this is a bad idea, okay. She'll go, 'Um, the names, uh...'" "Did she say it back?" "I was thinking, uh, oh yeah. Why the fuck not? Let's do this." "Yeah, just like, and then like giggle a little bit afterwards." "Tatiana will sort of chime in and like grab Elena's hand and be like, 'I call her Ella for short.'" "Aw, babe." "Why don't we go sit down and get a little private time.
We could catch up. You can bring your friend, if you like." "Sure, that sounds good to me. We still haven't gotten our drinks, though." "He's gonna, he's gonna snap his fingers absentmindedly towards the bar. And there's gonna be a host of individuals coming over with a plethora of different drinks." "Take your pick. And we'll go to the back." "Every once in a while he'll kind of, um, you get the sense that maybe he's got like a little dry mouth thing going 'cause he kind of licks his lips every once in a while." "Gross." "Uh-uh." "Uh-uh. Yeah, Tatiana will grab a drink." "So he's gonna, uh, he's gonna escort you toward the back of the bar here.
And there's, uh, this is almost like a private room, like a little VIP type thing. Uh, and he's gonna, he's gonna walk in. Out. And the three or four people who are in the room previously are gonna get up and quickly move out of the room. And he's going to gently kick a couple of chairs out from behind the table for you both to sit in." "Um, as we're, like, walking to the back room, um, Elaine is going to sort of look back at, uh, Callie and pray for her." [Laughter] "Yeah, he is going to, after you're in, kind of shut the door. How about we jump back to Callie, actually?" "How about we just stab my eyes out?" "No!" "I can't believe I got myself into this." "No, Trent is, he's, he's, he's throwing, he's throwing everything he's got at this situation.
He is every move. And at one point he is going to hold Callie's left hand and bring it up to his mouth. And his very moist lips are going to kiss the back of her hand. And then as soon as he's done the kiss, and there's going to be this imperceptibly small little, um, mucus trail coming from his mouth. And then he is going to look deep into Callie's eyes." "Mm-mm." "How about we take this upstairs. I got a beautiful little room that's got a little bed, and I can give you one of my world-class shoulder rubs." "Hmm, cool." [Laughter] "Callie is going to be like a little panicked on the inside for a little bit because she was kind of trying to just like wait out the alcohol and hopefully he'd just pass out." "Right." "So she's just going to be like, 'How about I tell your fortune?' And she'll like take, like, the hand that has her hand, she'll like bring it down in front of her and just like pretend to read his palm.
I don't know." "Wow, that is a Hail Mary. Um, that's..." [Laughter] "He is going to pound this shot down, and there's going to be a look of like regret instantly. It's like, 'Mmmmmm.' But he's trying to impress you?" "Mm-hmm." "So he's going to, he's going to like swallow it down." [Growling] "Oh." "Whatever that bartender gave me, it's going back." "Right, yeah, and it's, um, what he gave you is essentially colored water." "Great. Awesome." "And he's also going to be hovering around the two of you just a bit, just kind of keeping an eye on things." "Oh, that's so nice." "Yeah, the guy's kind of finely dressed.
Like you get the sense that normally this is a classy establishment marred somewhat recently by its current occupants." "Austin?" "Let's cut back to, uh, to talk to you on Alayna. Actually, before we do that, Braylon, Kal-den, I'd say, you know, 15, 20 minutes have passed so far. Um, would there be calls for concern yet?" "Braylon's out like a light, so he has no idea what's happening." "Okay." "Uh, no, I don't think so. Not 15, 20 minutes, uh-uh." "Okay, cool." "Um, I would like to, I would like to do one thing, though, and we don't have to play the whole thing out, but, um, like I think Kal-den would go down and talk to the woman at the desk." "And just find out what specific rooms that Brock, Krista, Trent, and Ripley were staying in." "Mm-hmm." "Like, see if you can find out which rooms specifically they're in." "Okay, we'll cut back to that in just a sec." "Okay, cool." "So, Alina, Tatiana, you're, you're in this small room with, uh, with Ripley, alone, and you got your drinks, it's a, it's a cozy little room, and he's gonna be, uh, he's gonna be stroking his chin just a bit.
Again, everyone's small licking his lips." "Ah, it is so good to see you, Tatty. Ah." "Alright, don't jizz all over the floor. No, I'm kidding. Um, yeah, it's really great to see you, too. Uh, what have you been up to?" "And she's gonna sort of, like, scooch over to Alina and, like, cuddle a little." "Uh-huh." "Like, nuzzle." "Ah, I got a, I got a new thing going here. Kinda moving up in the world. What about you? Still doing jobs? You, working with your new partner here?" "Well, you know, we haven't had a job in a little bit. We actually just came from Fair Bay.
I introduced, uh, Ella here to the folks, so that was kind of fun." "And every once in a while he'll kind of give an absent-minded look at, uh, at Alina. And, you know, back when you and I were together, and he's gonna give, like, a pointed stare at Alina while he says it." "I, uh, I never got the sense that, uh, I was anything less than everything you needed. So this new situation comes as, uh, a bit of a shock." "Um, she'll sort of not pull away from Alina, but she'll sort of, like, direct her attention, um, back to Ripley and say, 'Well, you know me.
I'm all for-run for new experiences.' And she'll see that very, like, flirtatious." "Mm-hmm. And he's gonna- he's gonna speak to Alina. 'What about you? What's your field of expertise? We might be able to use you in this thing we're doing soon.'" "Uh, she'll sort of- she'll look at him and, uh, like, she'll sort of, like, lift her arm up and, like, flex her bicep a little bit. She'll say, 'Well, I'm pretty strong, um, I like lifting things.'" "I don't know what that means." "I don't either. That sounded like entendre, but, like, I don't-" "I pick things up, I put them down." "Over and over again." "And, uh, he's gonna- he's gonna- he's gonna look at Tatiana. 'Yeah, Tatiana's always liked to be big and strong.
You know, we're only gonna be in town here for, uh, like, a week." "Like a day, tops. But I would hate to just leave you out in the cold. No job or nothing. Where are you two off to next?" "Well, you know, we didn't really have any destination in mind. We just knew that Lockford was up and coming. We figured we'd give it a stop since we were in Fair Bay. You know, we wanted to see what was up." "He's- he's gonna kind of lean in." "You know, I always told you Fair Bay was a dead end for you. There's nothing but losers that live there. They're born there." "They farm, bake, cut meat.
Until the day they die, there's nothing there for you, baby." "I always have to pause, like, right before I'm about to talk, 'cause I'm like, 'Ugh.'" [laughter] "Tatiana will sort of lean into him too, so that, like, they're very close, and she'll put her hand on his arm, and she'll say, 'And I've never really said thank you for getting me out of there, and you showed me what this world was.' And she'll sort of, like, do a coy little look down at the ground and then back at his eyes, and then vomit in her mouth." [laughter] "I'll tell you what. I know we've kind of been dancing around it, but last time you and I worked together, you got a little clumsy. You got caught up in bright porn.
How would you like a chance to make all that up to me?" "I don't know how to respond to this." [laughter] "That's, and that's the thing, okay, that is probably not Tatiana's version of the story." "Exactly!" "Right. He is sort of, he's kind of gaslighting her a little bit, just kind of, like, he's repainting historical events, like, 'You really fucked things up for me, but since I'm so magnanimous, I'm gonna let you try and make it up to me.' That type of thing." "Ugh. Fucking men. Can I just say really quickly..." "Whoa, whoa, hashtag. Hashtag not all men." "Not all men, Jamie.
Come on." "But all of the behavior in this bar thus far is gross." "Um, so at this point she's still probably close to his face, and she's just gonna sort of, like, slowly pull back and say, 'Well, what did you have in mind?'" "Well, we're getting ready to move up just a bit more in Brightport. We got our numbers up, and we're making some really powerful friends, Tati." "Here's where he is going to gently raise his hand and kind of stroke at Tatiana's neck a little bit, and then let his hand drift juuuust a bit too far south." "So we're talking cleavage area here, and just kind of absentmindedly touching her while he's talking." "Yes." "We're getting ready to do a little favor." "We're supposed to catch a couple of schmucks coming up north. They escaped from Brightport, so we bring them back up north." "They get their throats slit, and someone very powerful owes the fang a favor." "And that's how you get ahead in the world, Tati." "And trust me, you want to be close to me again.
You want them to owe us a favor." "You don't want to be on the outside of that, do you?" "At this point, she is going to look towards Elena, then sort of grab her hand again and start to stroke it with her other hand." "And she'll look over at Ripley." "You know, that sounds like a really good deal. Let me talk it over with my gal here." "How long are you going to be in town for?" "Probably till tomorrow night. We're waiting on him now. Shouldn't be too much longer." "We're going to get him, and we're going to bring him up north. Easy money." "Well, I do like easy money.
Yeah, we will talk it over, and I will let you know tomorrow." "He's going to nod his head a bit, and he's going to look at Elena, but still talk to Tatiana." "Okay, baby. You and your friends try and get some sleep." "And if you get lonely, you know where to come find me." "How's about... let's cut back to Kaladin." "So Kaladin is going to have a conversation with Gabby. Now, Gabby tries to run a pretty reputable place, and even people like this deserve some type of privacy." "But what I'm going to do is I'm going to let Kaladin roll a persuasion check to see how much of this he can drag out of her through the course of a conversation." "Okay, cool.
You want me to roll it now?" "Yeah." "Okay, cool. Sorry, I'm trying to shake the sick off of me from listening to all that. Bravo, bravo. Okay. Nope, that's not it." "So that's not bad. That's not bad at all." "So during the course of this conversation, she's going to kind of let it slip that only some of these guys are staying here." "A lot of the lower level bandit type people, and a couple named Brock and Krista are also going to be staying here." "Everyone else has pretty much just been flophousing it over at the bar. They haven't left." "And Kaladin would get the location of their rooms, but she'd make it pretty clear, 'Yeah, they haven't really been in much.' Like they're just kind of almost squatting that type of thing." "Okay, so they're not in there right now.
They're probably over at the bar and everyone's just sort of keeping the party going." "Yeah, that type of thing." "Okay, okay. Then yeah, I think Kaladin will just take that information and go back up and try and get some rest and check on Brailin." "Like tuck the blanket over him and then try and get some rest." "Or you know what, actually no, I'm sorry, he'll probably stay up until people come back. I think that's probably more what he would do." "Alright, alright." "He'll look wistfully out the window at the Silverglade." "Oh, wow. How fortuitous.
Let's cut back to Kaladin." "Yes!" "So for everyone out there at home, I just had, he calls himself Simply Trent." "Oh, no." "I had him roll a con save. He rolled a one. So this blackout is going to hit him like a ton of bricks. So he's going to be like part way, kind of part way through a sentence and just, just, so he's going to be still clutching at Kali's hand and just, 'God, I gotta, I gotta tell you something, baby.'" "I gotta tell you something, baby. You are just the sweetest looking thing. Just, just kinda, ugh." "And as he's speaking, he's going to go down, just gonna, just gonna go down and then mouth agape drooling, he is going to kind of slide down Kali's arm until his head hits the bar and just kind of like that, just kind of a pool of spit underneath his face." "Kali's going to let out the biggest sigh, like, ugh." "I thought that would never happen." "And the bartender's going to kind of give Kali like a knowing glance and just kind of like grab the shot glasses, like, 'Give me those.' And he's going to kind of look at Kali like, and then look at the door like, 'You should leave now maybe,' like that type of thing.
"And that would be just about the time Tatiana and Elena are going to be leaving that little private room in the back of this establishment." "Holding hands." "Holding hands. But before they leave, Tatiana wants to do one more thing." "So as they're like getting up off of these like benches or couches, whatever they are, she's going to look back at Elena and say, 'I'll be right there, babe.' And she's going to lean over Ripley and whisper in his ear, 'I missed you too, babe,' and give him a kiss on the cheek and then she's gonna leave." "Wow." "I need to roll to see if I heard that." "I'm just kidding." "Yeah, okay." "No, I'm just kidding." "So the three of you are going to meet up in the bar again." "Well, before I walk away from the bar, I want to make sure this bartender gets paid. So I want to find Trent's like coin purse." "Wow.
Okay, yeah." "Yes, take it. Take it all." "So just, okay, here's what I'm going to need you to do." "I mean, he's like practically still." "Oh, he is." "Yeah, he's not going to wake up." "Yeah, I want you to roll a sleight of hand check just to see something here." "Good." "Oh, wow." "So again, there's a lot of people in this establishment, right? And they're probably not going to notice him pass out because I'll be honest, it's probably not an unlikely thing. It probably does it a bunch." "So, Callie's going to have to root around a lot. He doesn't really have a lot of pouches on him, but he does have pockets.
So Callie's going to have to search and like kind of almost hug him to get into those pockets and not make it look like she's just openly robbing him." "And it's going to take a while. Like you're going to have to check those butt pockets a bit and the smell coming off of him is just." "It's just choice, huh?" "Oh, it's so good. And it's going to take Callie probably two or three minutes to find what she's looking for. And it's weird because Trent doesn't keep his coins in a pouch, doesn't keep them in his pockets, but on the inside of his leather pants, there's like an interior pouch type of thing.
You know, you don't want to get robbed. It's one of those type of things. So it's even smellier inside that, if you can imagine." "So gross." "So eventually though, Callie is going to find what she's looking for and pull out five gold." "Yay. How much does that shot usually run for?" "Oh Jesus. So, okay. A shot of blackout in a post-war economy of Theria would be more than what you spent to stay the night at a place. So it usually runs about four to five gold depending on where you are. That's for a shot. If you want a bottle of this stuff, get ready to pay out the ass." "Just drop all five gold on the counter for the bartender.
Because I'm feeling like he's probably not going to get all the money he's supposed to get tonight." "Nope. No. And he's going to kind of look at you like, 'Thanks. Thank you.' And just kind of, not with his bare hand, but he's got like a rag that he's wiping down the bar with and he'll take that money that way because he just watched what you did to get it. So yeah." "So you guys are going to meet back up in the bar?" "Yeah." "I imagine you're leaving?" "Please?" "Yes." "So, you walk out of this bar, what's the first thing you want to do?" "I'm going to take a fucking shower.
I'm just kidding." "Well, first of all, is there anybody outside the bar that would be part of this crew?" "Um, most people are inside. Every once in a while someone will duck out to pee in the alleyway or something like that. But for the most part, everyone's inside." "I feel like we should just go right back to the inn." "Yeah, we probably would head right back to the inn. And Tatiana would probably tease Elena a little bit. Like as they're walking, say something like, 'Couldn't have picked somebody better, could I have, baby?' And then like give her a little tap on the booty." "Oh my." "She'd sort of, um, I think she'd just laugh it off because tonight's been so like out of what she's used to anyway, but she's like sort of delirious to it all." "Yeah, because she cut a guy's arm off and then they got chased by a troll and then she was gay for a while and she's just, yep, this is her life now." "You are covering a lot of ground in a very short amount of time because you have officially been on the road.
This is your fourth day technically. You're entering into your fifth day on the road consecutively. You guys have covered a lot of ground." "So getting back to these rooms." "Oh, um, so when we were in the bar, like I was low key observing people as much as I could. Like, is there any like anything significant I noticed?" "What I want you to do is give me a perception check and I'll tell you exactly what you saw." "All right, not bad. So there's a lot of things you were picking up, right? One, this is a group of scumbags and the only thing that's really strange about it is that if what Tatiana would, if Tatiana's gonna relay this to the group, that's a lot of people for a simple, you know, pick up and run back.
Like that's either they're getting ready to put down stakes somewhere or there are just way more of them than you would figure. That's a lot of them to just be hanging out in Lockford. You're also going to see, you were going to see a few bystanders around the bar who were just kind of, you could probably tell their townies and just kind of got, you know, swooped up in this, you know, people serving drinks, that type of thing. A few of them, like again, the gifts are a bartender who was, you know, kind of helping you out once or twice. There was also a half-elf redhead in the bar who was having, you could tell she was having none of their shit, but she was probably in a similar situation as you.
You ever look across like a room or something like that and kind of lock eyes with somebody and both of your eyes are screaming and you're just like, fucking no, right? And you just don't want to be there. But yeah, that's that's pretty much what was going on. So you're back. You're back at the inn here. You're back at these two rooms. What would be the first, how would Kaladin react to seeing them again? I think he would like see them come in and be like, well, you look like you had a good time. And then he'll sort of like turn to Kali and just like crinkle his nose a little bit and say, Kali, I don't mean any offense, but you kind of smell.
Yeah, I 100 percent aware. I know Tatiana when she gets back to the room will immediately pull her shirt back up and then probably grab a pillow and throw it at Braylon and just say, wake up. No. Oh, wow. You guys go to a party or something? And then you smell it. Yeah, it's just something there. Oh, my God. OK, fine. She's she's going to like walk outside, turn into her. Like, is there like are there like water things for like horses and stuff, just like lining the streets? Oh, yeah. There's stuff like that. There'd be fresh water in the building. Like they have essentially bathrooms.
There's like literal like a room to take a bath. That type of thing. I don't really want to do that right now. OK, fantastic. Just ask Daygon. That's great. No, she's just going to like turn into her fox and then like jump in one of those water things just to like hose yourself down and then go back up to the room. I'm probably still sopping wet, but she doesn't care. Just like get some of the stink off. So, OK, wet dog. Yeah. That's OK. So you went you went to street level to jump into like a horse trough type of thing. Sure. I don't know. I think I was imagining like a motel or something like.
Right. Like there's like a railing. I don't know. I didn't know if it was a thing where you got nude in the street to turn into a fox to then jump into the water. I didn't. I was just asking. I should probably have done it with her clothes on. OK. OK. Her clothes probably smell pretty bad too. So everything. It sticks to the skin and clothing like it's a very. Yeah. Sorry. Go ahead. You're you're cleaner now. Yeah. Well, I just didn't like didn't want to take the time to draw a bath and stuff like that. Of course. So the group will sit there talking for a few minutes and then Callie will come back just again, probably pretty wet.
Yeah. And I think called in would like relay the information that that Brock and Trent have have rooms here, but not at the other two. And that they haven't really been staying staying here for the night. Brock and Krista. Sorry. Brock and Krista. Yeah. Sorry about that. Well, and then brothers are going to perk up. So they have rooms here, but they're not here. Yeah, it seems like they've been caterwauling at the end. Do we know which rooms are theirs? Mm hmm. OK. They're the ones. Well, they're we're a little bit far from them, but they're the ones down the hall, the one with the the wooden door with little iron bits on it and the one that's got sort of like a little chip at the top and bottom.
OK. He's going to grab like a bandana from one of his like pack little little bandanas. Going to put it over his head. He's going to he's going to take he's going to look around his pack for like pieces of failed costume. But he was making his expert costumes for the girls. Right. Right. And he's going to look at one red shoulder piece there. So, OK, this will work. Kind of put it on really like haphazardly, put something together to cover his face and features and look like not like himself and say, I'll be back in about 10 minutes. Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.
And he's going to block the door. It's like, well, what's the problem? There are all right. Story time. There are over two dozen of them. Rule one, you two stay in the room until they leave town. It is going to look like a cauldron, like this. Is that what really stay in the room? Stay in the room. There are so many of them. You don't think our chances are good? Our chances are zero. There are no chances. Breland's going to move the bandana from his mouth. I love those chances. Well, what happens when they find out we aren't coming? She'll sort of look towards Alayna and Callie and be like.
I agree, Tatiana, we'll stay in the room, at least for now, at least until we can figure something out. But as far as I know, none of them are here right now. It might be good to let Breland take a little peek. And by take a little peek, I mean take some stuff. If you take stuff, they'll know someone was in there. Maybe borrow them. I don't know what kind of verbiage you like to use. I don't really think that they have much, honestly. Like the one that I had the pleasure of spending time with did not have a lot. And he's not even staying here. Well, I mean, they might have some sort of information, right?
Are they working? Is it official? Do we know these guys are working for the Black Hand? What happened? How much would Tatiana relay to the rest of the group? Would it be full on, "OK, guys, story time" type of thing? I kind of think so, yeah. I think that she would definitely do that. It's not like she's trying to hide anything from them. So she would probably start at the beginning. She would hesitate on the steamy parts between her and Elena to gauge their reactions. Oh, you had a really good time. I see. But yeah, she would definitely tell them everything.
Slower, slower. Come on. I thought we were done with this. No, we're never done. Brelyn's gonna look back at her. Brelyn's gonna look back at Tatiana. OK, so they are working with them. But there's gotta be something that they have. Especially if those, you said these two, Brock and Krista? If they're in here, maybe they have something. Like maybe they have some sort of paper or some information that can help us find out where exactly Black Hand is hanging out or where she actually is. Maybe it's not Brightport. Maybe we can get a lead on them. Maybe be one step ahead of them or some information we have over her.
You know, because that seems to be the only way we're ever gonna get her off our backs. Tatiana's gonna put her hand up to her temple and just be like, "I don't feel like you're hearing me. Stay in the room." If it needs to be debated, you guys can debate it. I'm gonna go downstairs and talk to the innkeeper and beg her not to tell these people that you are here. Because as far as Ripley knows, it's just us three girls. He's gonna throw his hands up in the air. "Fine, God, I sound like my mom." He's gonna go huff and puff in the corner, take off his costume that he just made, throw it on the ground.
Yeah, Cauldron will just nod and sit back down. Okay, well, now that that seems like everything's settled, I am going to go and scrub all of my skin off. Yeah, I'm right there with you. So Tatiana's gonna go talk to Gabby. Yeah. Okay. So Gabby would be behind the counter. And again, this place is pretty quiet. She's gonna be reading. And she's gonna see Tatiana coming. Hi again. Hi, Gabby. I'm really sorry that we keep bothering you. But really quickly, we just met up with those people you were talking about. You know, the assholes. And they were not as friendly as we were hoping that they would be.
So I just wanted to come down and ask if they ask about us at all. We're gonna try to keep our distance. We didn't really have a good run in over at the bar. So if that's okay. She's going to set aside the book that she's reading. You guys aren't prospectors, are you? And she's just gonna sort of like exasperatedly sigh. No, we are not prospectors. Unfortunately, we were hoping that we were gonna be able to make a business deal with these folks. And it just did not pan out the way we were hoping. Yeah, they are definitely assholes. Yeah, I got that vibe. No offense, but are they gonna be leaving town soon?
They're not just here for you, are they? I don't think so. I know I was talking with one of them earlier and they said that they'd be gone by tomorrow night. So here's hoping. Okay. Yeah, I can keep it under wraps. Just I guess stay in the room and then till them and then hopefully they just get down. Thank you so much. And one last thing, too. They don't know that those two gentlemen are with us. They think it's just us three girls. And I think we'd like to keep it that way. Oh, are they? And she's going to lead in really close. Are they like bounty hunters?
Is she asking if we're bounty hunters or if the group is bounty hunters? The fang basically asked. It's like, are you like wanted criminals? That type of thing. Like you can kind of see it on her face. Tatiana is just going to sort of chuckle and she'll say, I wouldn't say that they're bounty hunters. If anything, they're probably the opposite. Insinuating that, you know, they're criminals. Right. I probably shouldn't tell you this then, but they've been talking a lot about some delivery, like people. And they weren't saying really nice stuff. It sounds like that's what they're here for.
And she's going to start talking with her hands a lot. If that's if that's you or your friends, then you might want to leave. But get out of here. Interesting. I will definitely bring that to my friends. Thank you so much for telling me. I'll see if we can make it worth your while. Repay it somehow. Thank you so much. I don't know if we're going to leave or if we're going to stay. But if we do stay, we'll probably just stay in the room. And if any of that group and she'll make like a face asks about us, you know, it's just us three girls. And that's it. But if we do leave, thank you for everything.
Gaby's going to look a little scared at this point. No problem. Yeah. You you swear that they're just they're just assholes. You didn't do anything wrong. They're just after you for some stupid reason. We did not do anything wrong. Do me a favor. That's that's a tricky one. Because of the way you worded that, I'm going to I'm going to ask you to roll a deception check. To say that you did nothing wrong. We didn't. But we didn't. You were in prison until recent. Yeah. Fudge, please. Oh, come on. It. Yeah, that's good. OK. I know. I know. Now she's going to go tattle on us and they're going to come up and get us.
Oh, whoa. Whoa. Is this why Tatiana got caught in bright blue? She's going to she's going to start to kind of like awkwardly rock behind the counter. I don't want any trouble or anything. I just I'm just trying to run the in here. OK, I don't I don't know what you or your friends are doing. I just, you know, I think Tatiana would sense that Gabby's getting a little anxious and she'd probably say we don't want any trouble either. Honestly, we really don't want to cause you any trouble or the town. Do you want us to leave? Because we will leave if you want us to leave.
No, you haven't. You haven't done anything to me. And I don't think they're going to be really kind to you if they find you. Look, I shouldn't I really shouldn't do this. But the bigger, stupider one dropped a notebook earlier. And oh, yes, you know that thing she's been reading? Oh, my God. She's going to push it over to you. I think you might want to take a look at this in the room. And she's going to point up away, away from the lobby, maybe. Tatiana's eyes are going to just go wide and be like, thank you. And she'll like pick up the notebook. Do you... I'll bring this back.
I never saw it. Just go ahead. Take it, please. And her eyes will sort of soften towards Gabby. You have no idea how much this means to us. Thank you so much for granting us asylum. You're the best. And she'll sort of like hurriedly rush upstairs. All I'm saying is Tatiana was the one showing her goods. Why does he got to go right to Callie? Maybe he's into earthy chicks. They were a match made in the forest, in the glade. I mean, he's into certain herbs. Callie might know of certain herbs and where they would be. Oh, I see. Why didn't you bring some of that shit back from my pain?
I wasn't looking for it. My pain. For 20 blazer. I get that black grass. OK, so Tatiana would return to the rooms, I'm guessing. Yes, very excited. Did I have to ask, though, because I saw it in the chat. Did Braylon sneak out? No, no, he's still there. I will mom voice you again if I have to. So what would Tatiana do coming back to the rooms here? Well, I think she would like rush into the room and hold up the notebook like, "Guys, Gabby is the fucking best." Oh, what have you got there? I guess she said that the big fat or did she say big fat stupid one? Big stupid one.
She said the big stupid one dropped this notebook and it has something interesting we would like to see. Which one's the big stupid one? One of the ones you met or? Which one is the big stupid one? Well, she'd be talking about Brock. Brock. Is it written in like crayon? Well, here's the thing. Cracking this open, it is obviously written by someone who has a loose understanding of common. Like, it's almost as if that's not their native tongue. It is so poorly spelled and just filled with expletives constantly. Just every other sentence contains one. It's kind of a journal, but again, very poorly written.
Like, every once in a while, I would imagine it would take a team of actual common speaking people to go, "What's that word? What do you think they're trying to say?" That type of thing. Like a really, really poorly written thing. I was just going to say it's like Charlie Day from It's Always Sunny. Like all the writing is like pictures and horrible spelling. We didn't quite know what worm hat meant. Worm hat. A lot of pictures and stuff like that, like crudely drawn stuff. And the more you read this, the more you're going to... it is a journal and it looks like this person's been keeping it for a couple of years now.
You will find out their name is Brock. They have a lovely girlfriend named Krista who he speaks very fond of. Except for every, I don't know, every 30 pages or so he'll call her something and then it appears as though they make up and everything's fine again. But yeah, he's been keeping this for a few years and there's a lot of boring stuff about them on the road. Every once in a while there will be a lot of punctuation, a lot of exclamation points, that type of thing. When they find a good score, like if there's someone alongside the road that they can bully or take or they find gear on dead people or something like that.
It's like, "Holy shit! Good day today!" That type of thing. And then there will be some not good days. If they get robbed, if they lose something in a bar, something like that. And then eventually it gets into them finding the fang and starting that with a couple of other people. And they go into it and how it's grown and how it's become this thing. And that'll bring you right up to the present. And here's the thing, they've grown in numbers. And if this is to be believed, this person's counting skills trusted, they're up to a couple of hundred people. And what the plan is, is to do a favor for the Black Hand.
All of this is spelled incorrectly, by the way, in Brightport, and deliver a couple of expletives back to Brightport with a group of people. And then everyone else is supposed to be marching on Donhurst. Right, marching on. This friend is going to look at it, marching on? What does that mean? Walking, I hope? Like, oh, sorry. Is it like this group that Brock is with is going to do the favor for the Black Hand and there's another group that's maybe a hundred strong about to march? So there's like two things going on right now? Is that what it sounds like?
Well, the way this reads, and again, it's very poorly written, the way it sounds is, it sounds like Ripley and a team of people, probably 10, 15, 20 strong or so, are going to take care of this whole thing with with Braelyn and Kaldin looking for them. And there's a description of them in here. Like, it's like, oh, no, that's them. But that Kaldin has two arms. That's true. That's true. And take them back to the Black Hand and it goes into this, that they were promised this, this and this. And it's a big, lots of money, power in Brightport and kind of getting settled.
And a much larger group, it sounds like to you guys on page here, it sounds like they're they're marching on Donhurst for something. They're looking for something. There's some something rare that they were tasked to go into Donhurst to get violently. There's nothing there's nothing sneaky about this. They you know, Brock feels like they have enough numbers and he could lead the charge with Krista. Get into Donhurst, take it and then get out. I would like one of you to do me a favor and roll an intelligence check, and that is to try to interpret some of the passages in this book, because I would imagine you get the passages like I have no idea what the fuck he's trying to say.
Let's skip forward, that type of thing. And you're getting towards the end here. I would like one of you to roll an intelligence check for me to see how much you can glean from this. I think that might be Tatiana, right? Because you're kind of holding the book. You're reading the book to us? I mean, I can read it. I mean, I can roll it if you guys want. Mine isn't great, but I mean, it kind of makes sense. Yeah, it probably makes the most sense. OK, here we go. Yeah. Wow. Very nice. I was a little smart. I mean, I did hang out with this type of person, so. Yeah, you can understand dummies or whatever.
Dummies. So as far as Donhurst goes, the rest of it kind of makes sense, right? They think that they're going to get a bunch of power and bright port by being kind of secondary thugs to the Black Hand. Like that's their end. It's like, yeah, yeah, we're looking to move up in the world of thuggery. So, yeah, man, we got to we got to really we got to make some connections, get our names out there, that type of thing. All of them are essentially trying to get rich or power that type of that type of mentality where it's OK. The Donhurst thing is weird because that came up recently.
Apparently they were tipped off. This is a secondary thing that apparently they're doing for the Black Hand. Apparently this is a secondary thing that they're doing for the Black Hand where getting you to is clearly personal. That is clearly a personal thing. But this is more of a professional level. It's OK. Look, we'll give you a try out if you could do this for us. Awesome. And he keeps talking about a bell, a bell, like getting some bells. And the way he's talking about it, it's it's it's something it's worth something. It's either worth it's either worth money or something to the Black Hand specifically.
And it comes up, but it's it's it's misspelled. Like the word the word bell is misspelled three separate times, like talking about it in this thing. And it comes up quite a bit every time Donhurst is mentioned, like, yeah, we're going to get the beel. We're going to get the belala. We're going to get that like over and over again. And that it comes up enough that I would say you guys are pieced together. It's like that must be what they're after. That that type of thing or Tatiana would. Does it describe the bell at all or is it just like in that like, blah, bell, blah, blah, blah?
Yeah, just just just that word over and over and over again. Like that's that's the goal, clearly. But he doesn't really go into like what it's worth or why or whatever. It's just like, yeah, that's what we were told to pick up. So that's what we're going to do. That type of thing. And he describes this as a real smash and grab type of job. It doesn't happen to say when does it like when this is about to pop off? That it's supposed to be pretty damn soon, like they're going to split up here in Lockford and go do the thing. Like they're expecting more people in town soonish.
OK, OK. OK, so there's like a lot more people coming, kind of if we're going to do it, if we're if we are going to do anything, we're going to want to do it sooner rather than later. Yep. So would Tatiana relay that to the rest of the party? Oh, yeah, definitely. She would probably just stick to like all of the concrete details that she can figure out and just be like, it looks like they're going after a bell. Brellon's going to look really confused. What? A bell? Can I roll something for that to see if I know what to talking about? Because Alayna's done a lot of research on stuff.
That's fair. I'd say, yeah, you know what? I would say yes. Do me a favor. Give me a history check. Perfect. Come on. I've not been having good rolls tonight. I don't think anything would pop into Alayna's head right away. But it might be something that she's going to mull over for a while. It might be like, why is that? Why does that sound kind of familiar? Like a bell, that why? That type of thing. But nothing would pop into Alayna's head right away. OK. Would that ring any bells for for Cauldron at all? Definitely not when you said that. I wouldn't say so. I don't think I would fall into Cauldron's specific area of expertise.
I wouldn't say so. Fair enough. However, it does sound like the town of Donhurst is in some imminent danger here. What would everybody be thinking? Brelin would look to the group, to Tatiana specifically, and then say like, and you're pretty positive you translated, air quotes, your friends, your former friends, writing correctly? I mean, I did the best with what I could with what was given to me. But like, doesn't that look like Bell to you? Yeah, like one of the examples. Yeah, it looks really close to Bell. But this guy really messed that up, which is a new low, I've got to say.
If this is true, then like, should we go to Donhurst? Is that the next step or should we stay here and kind of deal with your old flame? She'll sort of like do like a little back shiver, like, and look towards Brelin. You mean get the bell before them? Yeah, yeah. I mean, this bell, what would be so important about it? Like, why would they want it? Do we really want to get wrapped up in that? Well, it would be something, some kind of leverage we might be able to hold over them. If we could get our hands on whatever this item is before they do, then maybe it's something we can use to bargain with.
That's a good point. Yeah, have something they want. And then Brelin's going to have a moment of like, he just remembered something. He's like, well, didn't we do that technically last time? It's going to look up at Keldon. Yeah. Keldon is going to look down at his arm. Conversely. Oh, sorry. Go ahead. No, you go ahead. Keldon will say, conversely, Tatiana, you seem to have an in with one of these people. I mean, we might not be able to take all of these fangs on at once, and it sounds like more are coming. So if we're going to do anything, we need to do it fast.
But we might be able to you might be able to persuade at least this Ripley or someone and maybe Kali, maybe Trent as well, if you can, if you can stomach it. And we put it in my mouth a little bit. And we could get the drop on maybe the two of them, maybe right here in this room. Like an ambush, but in this small, tiny, cramped space where we aren't outnumbered. And you can throw some ice on the ground, make them slip, break their heads. What do you think of that Tatiana? I mean. I I'm conflicted, honestly, I don't know. I mean, it sounds good on paper, but at the same time.
I don't know if we could pull it off like they've got a ton of people with them, even if we were able to kill off two. That still leaves a ton. All with the same goal. I don't know if. Just because we kill off, quote unquote, the leaders that they'll stop. But we might be able to sow enough confusion in their ranks. I mean. Already, already they'll be disappointed and their plans will have to change without us as captors, not without the people they're expecting coming back. Very true. And the Fang might even look bad in the Black Hand's eyes. Maybe they drop them as partners or whatever.
Gives us a little bit more time also. And Ripley's definitely willing to come here. Braem's gonna look up. How can you guys be so sure? You guys seem really confident about that. It must have gone really well in the bar. Well is a word. I think this I don't want to push you into anything Tatiana. This is your relationship. And this would be some this would be a choice that you would have to make. Well, we're a group, so I think we should make the choice together. My only major hesitation is that everybody who is in the bar saw us three with those two in the bar.
But I guess we can take a vote as to what to do. I don't want to just solely be on my shoulders because I know these people. It's everybody who's affected. I understand that. I understand. I just meant you have a close tie with this person. I know things are personal. I don't want to make this difficult for you. I mean, I don't think it would be difficult to kill Ripley. Don't. Emotionally, it would not be difficult. Physically, it may be a little difficult. But what does everybody think? We would certainly have the drop on him. If we were to lure him back here.
We would have to leave immediately afterwards, though. Yep. They all smash and dash. Sounds like a good plan to me. Where would we go? Back to Fair Bay? Hey, Jason, how far away is Donhurst from the Silver Glade? The forest proper or Lochford? The forest proper, yeah. Or Lochford. Because Lochford is right on the edge, right? Yes. Well, yeah, you're as far south as you can get near the Silver Glade. Well, the trek to Donhurst would be a long one. We're talking probably over a week of travel, depending on how long you guys take. You're looking at maybe seven to nine days or so.
Now, here's the thing. You're also going to have to trek through Dragon's Reach and some other stuff. It would be a long trip. Now, Donhurst is actually a walled city. It's pretty safe, even though it's nestled pretty far south below an orchid camp. Famously, they built those walls to keep out the orcs. So it's a pretty safe city once you're in there. Oh, okay, I see. But it's quite a trek away from the Silver Glade, right? If you're still in the Silver Glade, the northern portion of it, you're still about five and a half days away, four or five days away, somewhere in there, depending on how quickly you move.
And I'm talking about the forest itself, not Lochford. Okay. Fuck. Alright. Oh, go ahead. No, no, no, go. Brandon's going to look after Elena, and say, "Where are we going to go next?" He'll perk up. Well, I mean, not to try and play hero, but say we do kill this guy, Ripley, and whoever's left aside to go after that bell, I feel like we'd be doing a great injustice not trying to stop them. These guys, after all, they have been chasing us. He's going to look to Cauldron, kind of harassing us a little bit, making it very difficult for us to move freely. I say getting rid of the fang in one way, one fashion or another is good for us in every possible scenario.
And that includes stopping them from getting their hands on something that could potentially hurt us more, if that's what this thing is. I agree, but you know, Braylin, this is... we'll be doing exactly what we did before to the Black Hand. This is going to piss her off. Mm-hmm. That's true. He's going to kind of bite his thumbnail a little bit, but she can't be completely mad at us if she knows we have something she wants, and we could potentially break it. Or hide it, so she'll never find it. We'll have a bargaining chip, and I think that's something we haven't had in a while, or ever.
Cauldron will nod emphatically. It could just make her come after you harder, though. Send more people each time. He's going to put his finger up? Yeah, that's the other side of the coin. Isn't there something you guys wanted to do in the Silver Glade? Like, we're right here. Braylin's going to look at Cauldron, or he's going to look at Calli first, and then kind of shake his head, like, "No, no, no, no, why, why, why would you do that?" And then he's going to side-eye look at Cauldron. Cauldron's going to bite his lip a little bit, and... Hey, Jason. Also, how does Cauldron feel being this close to the Silver Glade, too?
Well, I would imagine that it's one of those things that you've been putting off for a long time. Years, now, on the road. I would imagine that there is kind of a sense of longing, like a sense of, like, "Man, if I could just get in there and roo around and find what I'm looking for," that type of thing. Now, if you're talking about some sort of magical pole, some sort of otherworldly type of thing, I wouldn't say that's necessarily a thing. That Cauldron's feeling right now. But there is probably a sense of, like, "We're so close," that type of thing.
Mm-hmm. I'll look at Kali and be like, "The Silver Glade holds answers for me that I want to uncover, but we aren't going to be able to do that with the fang at our back and the black hand hounding us." It kills me to be this close. But if, like what Braelyn says, we could get some kind of leverage, that's more than a fighting chance we would have to tell the black hand to back off and leave us all alone. I have a question, Jason. Amy? How common knowledge is... OK, so if I'm remembering this correctly, there was like a group of elves that used to live in the Silver Glade and they had like...
Because I was talking to you the other day about the tomes that Kaluna found. Like, how common knowledge is that stuff? Like, what I know about it. Give me a history check. OK. Fuck everything. Oh, I'm sorry. I want to push so hard. I know. I wouldn't say Kali would know about it. Cool. Perfect. My little one. I'm sorry. Her head explodes. No, no. Look, they're going to be in town for another day, right? At least I might be I should maybe get this looked at so we could take some rest, try and get discreetly to see this cleric and rest on it. Maybe table it again in the morning.
How does that sound? Sounds good to me. Yeah, I need a bath. You need a couple of baths, I think it's alcohol and I don't even know where that stink is coming from. Vael's going to be in the background. So because we've got two rooms, I assume the guys are sleeping in one room and the girls are sleeping in another room. However you guys want to divvy it up. But yeah, probably. And as they're leaving the guys' room, Tatiana is just going to sort of like loudly say, "So baby, do you want to be big spoon or little spoon?" and then shut the door. Hell yeah. There we go.
Be very confused. What are they talking about? Come here, Brelin. I'll show you. Send your fan fiction too. This is fan fiction. Basically, guys, I think that's a pretty good time for us to stop for the evening. Next time, we're going to pull the trigger on this. I don't know what you guys... you've got a little bit of time to think, but yeah, we're going to be pulling the trigger on this and something's going to happen. I don't know what it is. How you feeling? Are you feeling pretty good? Yeah, I feel like I wish I had listened to DRP more because this bell sounds very dangerous.
I don't know what the hell it is. Wait, is it from a DRP thing? I'm assuming from what the chat said there because I remember something about a bell too when Jamie was talking about it here. I don't know. But DRP was the gravy boat. Yeah, that's what it was. The gravy boat. And then the Bell of Vecna, I believe. Is that from an episode somewhere in the single digits? Oh, isn't that the one that cut the demons that you could fight him that Una and Julie got one half and then they found the other half? Sword, wasn't it? A sword? Well, Jason, you do know. I do, yeah.
Wasn't it the Bell of Vecna, right? He's not going to tell us. For what? You're going to have to go back and listen. Come on, like, don't make me do the hard work. I think after what you just put us all through. Hey, by the way, sorry to be gross at you guys. Like, it's just... Oh, thank you for apologizing. Yeah, I really appreciate it. Thank you. I mean... That's big of you. I was going to say, like, we literally for like, I want to say 45% of this episode, it's like, all right, ladies, take it away. Like, take the wheel. Yeah, you guys did a stellar job. You drove right through those turns.
Like, no brakes needed on this car at all. Man, we really hope you enjoyed today's episode, guys. Thank you so much for supporting us. Thank you for listening. Again, if you pass this on to a friend, that would really help us out. Five star reviews on iTunes are also very helpful. And again, if you want to support the show, you can do so on Patreon at patreon.com/dandr. Let me tell you guys about a huge cornucopia of stuff we're about to put up on Patreon. We did rework some tiers, so things like the Bestiary at $1. For $1, you can hear in-depth information about the monsters of Tharia.
Each month we're going to be taking a vote, and next month we're going to be doing something scary, but for September, we're talking about Kobolds. Where they come from, where you can find them, how to play them in-game, and in-depth stats. All that for $1. At the $5 tier, we're going to be throwing up our usual behind-the-scenes. Sometimes that's up to an hour, hour and a half of behind-the-scenes stuff. Stuff we cut, pregame stuff that we do before each session, all that. Plus, everything we recorded at Dragon Con. That's eight panels that we were on.
All of that, if you couldn't get to Atlanta, if you couldn't hang out with us that weekend, it's perfectly fine. At $5, we recorded everything, including behind-the-scenes footage with the cast, all kinds of different stuff where we were just kind of sitting around chatting. It's stuff we usually don't get a chance to do, but this is kind of a rare exception because we were in the same place once. This month on Living in Tharia, we're going to be talking about organized crime. So we're going to be compiling all your questions, anything you might want to know about organized crime in Tharia, or criminals in general, and we're just going to rattle all of them off and answer them the best we can.
You can find that under the $10 tier. And again, I'm kind of glazing over things because there's a lot more than this. But finally, at the $15 tier, we are still doing Safe Haven Society. It's a storytelling group that we do each month. But this month, in September, we're doing a one-shot that was recorded at Dragon Con. It's with myself, and Bree, and Ian, Jasper, Kelsey. We all got together and we did a special little one-off in Tharia just for you guys. Hopefully you really enjoy it. We're always looking for feedback with that type of stuff. So that'll about do it for us.
Again, all of your support is always very much appreciated as it's how we keep the lights on. It's how we do what we do.
