We're knee-deep in the middle of a spooky Halloween month. More details on that at the end of the show. Without further ado, let's get started with today's episode. [groans] Let's do that thing! We'll be going around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason, I'm the Dungeon Master. Going around the table, starting with Alex. Hey, I'm Alex. I play Brailin, the Halfling Bard. And Valerie. Hey, I'm Valerie, and I play Elena, the Human Fighter. And Jamie. Hi, I'm Jamie. I play Tatiana, the Human Rogue. And Karen. Hi, I'm Karen, and I play, uh, nope. I play Callie, the Elven Druid.

I play Elena, who am I? That's 'cause you were reminding Valerie who she played before. I know! And last and certainly not least, Ian. Hey, I'm Ian. I play Cauldron Halec, the Half-Elf Blizzard Wizard. Who am I? Who are we? Who even are we? Who are any of us? I was waiting for that. I was like, "What's he gonna do today?" That's all I was saying. I made you, I put you last on purpose. You know what? You're first next time. I didn't have a good one. Sorry, I didn't have one in the chamber. No, that's okay. You set too high an expectation. Yeah, didn't have a bit. Damn it.

So, we talked before the session properly began about everything that happened last time. And you guys were making some plans. Now, at the end of the last episode, it was pretty much decided that you guys were essentially going to sleep on it. And then wake up the next morning and kind of come at things with a fresh perspective. Is that still what you guys want to do? That sounds great. I'm down. Yeah. So, it is the sixth of Yes-T. I hate when you say that because I feel like there's a countdown. I feel like you're counting down to something. Yeah, is this Majora's Mask?

You're just not telling us. No, I'm giving you guys the date. You listen to the other episodes and you're very specific about the day. I have to be. And I'm like, "What is going on? Why is there a countdown? What's going on?" I have to be, man. It's one of those things that comes to me. I know! Because you're counting down to something crazy. Okay, if it makes you feel any better, yeah, technically I'm always counting down to something somewhere. Oh, my bad, Sinestro. Damn. That does make me feel better. Thank you. Okay. Alright. Is it my birthday? Is that what you're counting down to?

Cauldron's birthday? Sure. So, you're still in Lockford. You're going to wake up in the Whispering Pillow Inn. What's the first thing you want to do here? I'm going to... Brandon's going to wake up and look at Cauldron. "Cauldron, can you get breakfast, please? I don't want to go down there and have to use my fake accent again." Yeah, what do you want? Everything. I feel like I've done battle with a troll or something, even though we ran away from it. Yeah, that's exactly what we did. Yeah, I'll get one of everything. Don't worry. Sounds good, buddy. Thanks. He's going to pat him on the back and then roll over and fall asleep.

I like it. Cauldron's going to... Sorry, go ahead. I feel like the Braille incident is like, "Yeah, man, I feel like... Go down there with your one arm and get me some..." Yeah, yeah. I was just thinking that. How's he going to... Well, he's going to try and help his friend. That's what he's going to do. He's going to open the door on the way back up. He can use his feet. With my foot, yeah. With my magic. He's going to freeze the door and shatter through it. Yeah, so, holding... He's going to Kool-Aid man through it. It's subtle. So, Cauldron is... All of this is going to go through Cauldron's mind about how is he going to get this food.

But before he goes, he's going to take out a parchment and pen or something and quill. Something to write with. He's going to try and write another letter to Erolove and basically giving her an update on their situation. Where they're headed. What they've learned from the journal, real general. He's going to ask her or House Dragonkeep if they can send any mercenaries or round up any of the other house... I forget what the other house they have that they work with that we've come into contact with before. Was it Silverclaw? Well, technically Silverclaw and Hammerhand.

Yeah, I think there was a dwarf or something we talked about. It might have been Hammerhand. Yes. If they have any men or women that they can send to Dernhurst to help us. So, he's going to write that, seal it up and stick it in his pocket. And then he's going to go over to the other room and knock on the door. Yeah. Nice. Who did that? That was amazing. Well, it wasn't that amazing, but that was me. It saved me some trouble. Thank you. Wow, it sounded so good. Were you knocking on a real door? I still have light showering, so I think I'm still asleep. Okay, then I'll answer the door.

Good morning, Elena. I was just going downstairs to get some breakfast, but I think I might need some help. She's going to look like sort of shoebish, because like, oh yeah, that's my fault. And it's also your fault. I'm sorry. She'll say, okay, yeah, let me just get changed really quick and I'll meet you outside. Kalden will go downstairs to Gabby. Is it Gabby? Yes, Gabby. Gabby. Go downstairs to Gabby to sort of see and smell what's cooking for breakfast. Could you do me a favor? Of course. So you've been through a traumatic event, right? Yes. And when it comes to some traumatic events on the show, there's got to be a role attached to it.

You lost an arm. You cannot be feeling good today, but I want to see how not good you're feeling. You know when you go to the hospital and they ask you, oh, on a scale of one to ten, how bad's the pain? I'd like you to roll a D10, please. Oh, okay. Yeah, all the adrenaline. I'm coming down off all the adrenaline. One! Holy shit! Or maybe not. Maybe. So you are... okay. Here's what's freaky. There's obviously an ache to it, and it does not feel good. But it could be feeling so much worse, considering you had an arm lopped off. It feels bad, but it's more like...

Okay, like headache bad. You know what I mean? It's like a dull ache, and every once in a while if your heart gets beaten it throbs a bit more, but it's not terrible. It's pretty damn manageable. It was a clean wound. It's not infected. It could be so much worse. So, coming down here to the lobby, you're gonna smell some bacon and sausage. A lot of fried meats and stuff like that, but it's coming from the kitchen type area. And it smells like it's been there for a while. So, when you cook bacon, it just kind of stains the area for a while. Everything smells like bacon.

So it smells like something they've been working on for a bit. There's one more roll! One more roll I want to see. Do me a favor. Roll a d12. All 1s. Boxcars. Okay. I'm just writing something down really quickly. That's the countdown he's talking about. It is not. Was that for bacon? No, it's not for bacon. It's automatic bacon rolls. It's 5U. We're under new rules. So, yeah. Do you want to approach Gabby about acquiring breakfast? Yeah, is there a kitchen that's open to the front or how does this work? Usually people approach her and drop off an order. There's a little menu sitting by the thing.

It's kind of like room service. They do bring it up to you. Oh, thank god. Yeah, Cauldron will say, "Good morning and what do you recommend for breakfast for me and my compatriots?" She is going to... First of all, she's going to look down at the arm again. It's like, "Oh, man, you poor thing." Yeah, good morning? I guess you could still call it morning. That's fine. Yeah, there's still plenty of stuff. Are you in the mood for eggs? We have sausage. We can... There are muffins. Plenty of muffins left too. Oh, fantastic. Well, I guess I came down for sort of one of everything.

That will probably feed all of us. I can sort of parcel it up upstairs. I can take something back if I need to, but if you wouldn't mind maybe helping me out? She's going to raise her hand right away. "No, no, no, please. We'll take care of everything. You just worry about feeling better." I'll tell you what, and she's going to lean in. We have a lot of leftovers from this morning, so I'm going to just sort of throw in a few extra bits. And the whole thing could be taken care of with five gold, if that's okay. Yeah, very generous of you. Thank you. Cauldron fumbles around and fumbles around.

And, wow, there's Callie coming down the stairs. She's dressed much better. She'll walk over to Keldon. Elena, good morning. I think I may have left my things upstairs. My purse. Do you happen to have any gold on you? Yeah, sure. So she'll reach into her pouch and be looking in it and she'll say, "How much do you need?" Five. We'll get everyone to pay you back, pay their share, once we get everyone up. So she'll reach into her pouch and pull out all of her money, which is seven. She'll be covering up a grimace, but she'll be smiling. She'll be like, "Oh, okay.

Good." And instead of picking out five, she'll take two and then hand the rest to Gabby and put those two back in her pouch. Well, we're really making an impression. Yeah. God, you guys seem so sad. So yeah, Gabby will take it. I'll get started right away on the food. It should be rayed up. Everything's just being kept warm right now. So again, you go rest. And when were you planning on? Are you staying an extra day? It's to be determined. We haven't yet decided. I want to go see the healer here in town and see if I'm ready for travel just yet. But we will let you know as soon as we make a decision.

And of course, we will pay up front. Of course. We usually have a 1pm checkout time, but it's fine. It's totally fine. Yeah, I'll get your food to you right away. And she's going to scurry off to the kitchen to give him your order. Is it just her or is she like... Oh, no, there's a staff. There's like a cook and stuff. Okay. Okay, cool. Yeah, I guess head back up. Okay. Let's get everyone up and figure out what our next move is. Meet in our room. Okay, sounds good. And everyone's getting up, they do their routine, they brush their teeth, wash your face, all that stuff.

And get pretty for the day. And everyone now is kind of dressed and ready and meeting in Cauldron and Braelyn's room. I'd say by that time, after about... Braelyn's still asleep. No, I'm awake. Nudge him a charge. He's like passed out in the back, everyone's talking like, "Oh yeah, we should do this." He's awake. I'd say after 10 minutes they bring food up and it's on several plates, like platter type things. They're going to arrange it in the room for you. This was 5 gold, everyone. So, to Elena, pay her 1 gold each? Yes. That sounds fair. I'll take care of that while you guys are talking.

So, Braelyn's going to look at... Sorry, Elena. What? You're out? I'm out. Braelyn's going to look at... What happened to... You beat me in the contest. What happened? Sorry, man. I had to lend some money to my parents. Ah, I see. And he's going to pay Elena the missing 1 from his stash because I have a lot. Aww. Braelyn's going to look at that cauldron. So, we're going to get that hand? They're going to get their arm fixed? Or what's first on the agenda? Yeah, I think I'm going to try and make my way as carefully as I can to Jordana, the woman that was recommended to us yesterday.

We could probably go with someone, but Braelyn, I'd say it with you, but together, our profiles together might attract attention. Separately, we might attract more attention. How so? If they catch you, they're going to know I'm running around too. If we're together, at least we can watch each other's back. Ah, that's true. I'll go with you. I wouldn't mind visiting an herbalist shop. I had a thought in the night too. Maybe some of us can go to the sheriff, the Tiefling gentleman who greeted us last night. He didn't seem to have any love lost for these fang and maybe if we showed him the journal and proof that they're going to be doing some harm on Dernhurst, maybe he can provide us with some means of getting there, like horses or something like that.

Even just a few. Braelyn and I are light. We can double up. Yeah, I'm not much for horses or any type of mounts. And then he's going to, inside his mind, he's going to remember Snickers, shudder a little bit, but then have a smile like, "He wasn't that bad of a loser." I wish we could cut away to that and see what was inside Braelyn's mind. Of how he saw Snickers. He saw him like a fucking Tyrannosaurus Rex. That's how he saw him. Well, Tatiana is chomping down on this food. She's quite hungry, especially after last night with the drinking. And she's just going to jokingly say to the group, "Well, you know, Cauldin, if you're worried about getting spotted, Braelyn could always make you a disguise.

I mean, we all know he's great at that." I don't understand sarcasm that well, so he's going to think that's serious. His face is going to get really big. "Oh yeah, Cauldin, I can make you a disguise. That's a great idea." No disguise needed. I'll just put my hood up and try and keep a low profile. Sure. I mean, you've got plenty of time. You know I'd love a disguise, but I think my arms disguise enough. Yeah, you're right. Or lack thereof. Makes sense. And he's going to go back to normal. So, herbalist shop? Yeah, so do we want to have a good time? Or do you want me to stay?

Oh no, if you want to come along, come along. By all means. Tatiana and Elena are going to be okay. Talking to Sheriff McNoddingham was his name. Yeah, I think that makes sense too, since I think Tatiana was the only one who could read the journal. Yeah, you have the journal, right? Or at least you had it last time. Yeah, okay. Cool. That's a good idea. Taron, that was his name. Taron. So, okay, so we're splitting up. God, sorry. So, what did Cauldronall say to Tatiana and Elena? And if you can, tell Taron to maybe keep people away from the tavern. We don't want any people of Lockford running into these fang if they do spot us and there is trouble.

Sounds good. That's a good idea. Be careful out there. And you too. And then Braylon is going to put on his best Enrique Duchamp accent. Oh, horse little lady, we're going to be very careful now, you hear? Y'all, I'm going to tell you about... Yeah, let me tell you. Y'all, let me tell you about... I have a confession to make. My inspiration for Enrique Duchamp is valid this whole time. So you guys have a nice meal, your bellies are warm and full, which again, kind of a rarity for adventurers out on the road. It's good. You need those calories. You're going to walk those off.

That was so good too, those muffins. Dude, they... Okay, so these are... Oh, no, no, I know the bakery where they got them from. There is a tiefling gentleman, a black dragonborn, and a small halfling and a dwarf. It is a very nice bakery. Jordana's shop is just down the street. And there's kind of... there's Ivy running up the side of the building, like there's that thatchwork stuff and there's all kinds of plants outside the building just getting some sun. She takes them out each day and lots of natural light kind of pouring through the windows when it's not shuttered.

Is there... is there... is the shop on the... or I'm sorry, is the inn on the way to the shop? Like could we walk by there and... But you're in the inn. I'm sorry, the tavern. So, okay, the tavern is just across the street from the inn. And the shop is back down the way you came to get into the town. Okay, gotcha. As we're like going out, Khaldun sort of like eyeballs this tavern, just sort of like looking... I guess like looking for like the... what the scene is there. And if there's like... and maybe like obvious entrances and exits. Right. Most of them...

It would... okay. That noise that was so prevalent last night, that has died down. But again, it is the next day. So you're gonna see a lot of litter, a lot of bottles, a lot of smashed glasses, that type of thing. And then you're gonna see a couple Fang members sort of passed out, like just... there's like a little bench on the outside of the building and they're just kind of like slumped over on each other, passed out. But the scene is a lot less rambunctious than it was the night before. You're not gonna hear much coming from that bar. Okay. Does it seem to be like only Fang members in there at the moment?

At the moment, honestly, there's a lot of cleanup going on. Okay. I do want to like keep an eye out for Fang members because they are looking for Khaldun and Brelin. Totally. And we've got like our hoods up or something. Yeah. So Jordana's shop is unlocked. It's open for the day. And yeah. You going in? Yeah. Khaldun will knock on the door as he's opening it and just sort of like announce himself. He's coming in like, "Hello, Jordana?" So the little bell's gonna go off above the door. And you're gonna see a woman standing behind the counter. This building's sort of longer than it is wide.

Picture like a GameStop, something like that. One of those strip mall GameStops that are just kind of long. And you're gonna see a woman whose eyes are... the pupils are almost stained white. It's almost as if she has like very thick cataracts, something like that. And she's gonna tilt her head toward the door, but not look directly at you. "Afternoon, can I help you?" And she's almost... it's almost a tone of suspicion in her voice. I'm sorry, Jason. Did you say she's a human? Or did you say what type of... I didn't, but she's human. Okay. I was gonna say.

Oh boy. It's pretty obvious she's blind. Pretty damn obvious. Her nickname in town is Jordana the Blind. Daredevil's a king, guys. That's so creative. Did we? Come on. Sorry. Picture a town like that. What do you think they'd call her? True. Better than Durn Hollow, am I right? Jordana the Differently Abled. The sight impaired. The sight impaired, yeah. Hey, it's new Lockfort. We're turning over a new leaf. I'll call Dennyl, see that she's blind, and say, "Hello, just the three of us. We're looking to have you administer some of your expertise on a wound that I have." Look, if you're looking for drugs, I'm not gonna give you drugs.

I don't sell drugs here. You're the fourth person to come in and ask that today, and I don't sell them. Can I make it more clear for you? I was gonna interrupt her. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You misunderstand us. You see, my friend here, he lost his hand in a terrible mining accident, and we're looking for some medicine that might be able to heal him. Maybe even perform some sort of miracle that will regrow his hand like one of them little ground lizards. She's going to squint and try to, first of all, it's like, "Where is that coming from?" And then just kind of like, "Okay, uh, okay." That type of, like, you can see it on her face, like, "Okay." Can I see the arm?

How long ago was it lost? Oh, less than 24 hours. What were we talking about? Last night? It was ravaged by a swarm of razorflies, and then I had a friend cut the rest off as it was mangled, but cut a little bit more than I was hoping. But the wound is closed nicely, and I'm surprisingly in not a lot of pain. And Cauldin will, like, as he's saying this, like, walk over to her and just sort of, like, gently take her hand. And sort of, like, press it up to his left stump. Is there any bandaging on it or anything? Or was that removed? I think it's, I don't know.

I don't know if we ever, I know it got cauterized. It probably wrapped some, like, a cloth around it or something. It has to be, it has to have been wrapped. I don't think we'd have you running around with that thing exposed. Yeah, so there's probably cloth on it. Yeah, probably, like, some herbs in there too to, like, soothe it. Yeah, Callie looked at it, and she was pretty, she rolled pretty high for that. She did. So, okay, so this is treated pretty damn well. So, she's gonna gently take this bandage off. Tell me if this is too tender. And she's gonna kind of get to work and kind of inspect this area.

Oh, yeah, it's a little, a little raw. Sorry. So razor flies, huh? That's some damn bad luck. Yeah, I guess this is their breeding time. Unlucky for us. Filthy little bugs. I hate them. I only had the displeasure of running into them one time myself, but I've heard some stories. Well, you must have a damn good healer. We, uh, we travel with good people, yeah. Callie's, like, bright red. Yeah, I called in a, like, look back and give her a big ol' smile. Bright lookin' at Elbowherintheknee. Huh, huh, huh. Good job. Well, you said the pain wasn't too bad, right? That's right.

Well, then the worst you gotta worry about is infection. I can give you something for that, but it seems to be sealed over pretty well. I don't think that's gonna be too much of a, uh, hindrance. Let me see what I got. Give me just a few moments. And she's gonna, she's gonna kind of, you know, walk around to the back of the counter here, and she's gonna feel, uh, there's a huge shelf behind her that sort of wraps around the back of the, uh, the back of the counter here. And she's gonna be feeling around for some different things. Does she have, like, the poison herbs next to the medicine herbs?

No, no cross-contamination. Nothing like that. So, there's a bunch of herbs, and then there's a bunch of liquids next to that. Like, there's definitely a, uh, there's, there's two sections of this, and there's, there's kind of a brewing station back there. So, how big are we lookin' to go here? Uh, I'm sorry, big? Sorry. I'm, I'm being a little vague. Are you just lookin' to get rid of the pain and, uh, learn to deal with this, or are you, are you going for some more experimental treatments to try and get that arm back? Oh, well, we're lookin' to regrow that arm if possible, ma'am.

Alright. This is where I go into my spiel. If you're lookin' to grow the arm back, every individual's completely different, and I take absolutely no responsibility for anything that might happen to you or your party should you ingest any potions related to growing the arm back. Is that understood? Of course! He's willing to take all the risks necessary. And then Brown's gonna look at Kaladin like, "I'm sorry." [Laughter] [Sigh] Alright. Um, oh, sorry, go ahead. Well, I could brew you up something, and, uh, it has been known to work for some individuals in the past.

Again, it's, everyone's completely different. It has had the most luck with, uh, humans, elves, and tieflings, so you're in luck there. And she's gonna, uh, she's gonna feel again and kind of, like, just double check her prognosis and, like, feel your face and ears and stuff. It's like, "Yep." So you're good there, but it's not cheap. Oh, well, we don't have a ton of coin. Um, I'm curious. Uh, the replacement. Will it be just, like, flesh and bone? Um, or is there a way I could replace it maybe through arcane means? You're talking blood magic. Um, well, I don't think so, but I don't know.

I mean an arm, maybe, of more arcane substance than gristle and muscle. I don't know all that much about magic, but I do know something about limbs. Anything like that would take, that would take channeling and concentration, the likes of which I've never heard of. The way I see it, you've got three options, and these are the ones I know of. One is to just get used to it and use your other arm. I hope you weren't left-handed. One bit of luck. Two, there are potions like this one, and sometimes it takes two or three or four applications to see any results whatsoever.

It's a potion brewed from a few different local herbs, some stuff from the mountains, and, if you can believe it, lizard blood. Mm-hmm. I believe it. And three, you could try to go get a mechanical hand. They've done some wonderful things up near Winterhaven and, I believe, Jonhurst and Aldmoor. Aldmoor, I think, has a place. The Warforged have been doing something up there. But everything I know of in that vein is blood magic, and that's some dangerous stuff to mess with. That's just what I've heard. So, Cauldron will sort of look at her and say, "I'm guessing those are the price tiers, too, huh?" The blood magic route's gonna cost you probably thousands, but, from what I understand, it's a fairly surefire method.

I've just never trusted blood magic. Well, I'll go with your expertise, and I suppose I'll pay what I can. Look, it's a shitty bit of bad luck that you've got here, and I'm really sorry. If I could give you something for free, I would, but I wouldn't be running much of a business if I did that. And honestly, if this wasn't such an off-beat type of item to sell, I probably wouldn't have it in stock anyway. It's been tough for me to get supplies, so... I'll try and sell you the potion at a discount, but that's the best I can do. I could probably go as low as 65.

We'll call in a wince, like, "Ugh!" And then we'll clutch his chest and kinda go backwards, "Oh, my lord!" What if we provided the ingredients? Would you be able to go a little lower? Yeah, I might be able to do something like that. Well, we might not be in town for very long, but... you're saying if we returned with maybe the items that you needed? Maybe it would just be the cost of brewing. I could do it for labor. It's not a time-sensitive thing, right? If we left and came back in a few weeks, it would still have the same chances? Well, okay. The sooner this gets done, the better, but there really isn't much of a difference in the first week.

Beyond the first week or so, it could get a little trickier. It might take a few extra doses. You said you were attacked by razorflies in a mining accident? I called in to look at Braylin. Ah, yes. All of that is correct. Where were you digging? Well, if I gave you my location, I wouldn't be much of a good prospector, now would I? No offense. It doesn't sound like you have the money to pay for this potion. It doesn't sound like you're a very good prospector to begin with. Well, offense taken. So you can go ahead and give us the list of ingredients. I didn't mean any offense, sir.

It's already been a long day, and it's only early afternoon. Oh, yes. I know how long of a day it's been. This man is my employee. You see, I have taken very special care of them. And to have one lose an arm under my watch, well, of course, my day has been far worse than most days of my lifetime. So please. At the "I have taken very special care of them," while she's writing down these ingredients, she's going to go, "Eh." Braino's going to look at Ian. I'm sorry, Ian. Braino's going to look at Calvin and Callie and give them... His eyes are going to like...

Is he going to be gritting his teeth together? Like, she's going to get it. Calvin will do one of those, "It's not worth it." Like, Shake has an, "Eh, it's not worth it." He's going to nod. He'll look at her writing stuff down and call and ask, "You mentioned it's been a long day. Are you having trouble with the new people in town as well?" Ah, just more of a nuisance than anything. Constantly trying to get high on my dime. I don't sell those types of herbs here. Most of them are gone now anyway, so it's fine. How long have you been in Lockford, if you don't mind my asking?

Well, I... I lived here before the panic, but I opened up the shop shortly after the rebuild. The, um... The panic? The wolves, son. I gotcha. I had heard tales. I had heard it was a nightmare. It was unpleasant, to say the least. So, this is going to take you to the mountains, at least for three of these ingredients. Lizard might be a little tricky, but if you could bring it back alive, that'd be great. One live lizard. What do they look like? Well, this would be the trickiest part. And she's going to fold her hands on the counter and look toward the party. You're going to need a small drake.

And, uh, that is no short order, because even a small one can put up a fight. But if you can maybe harness it up, you'd probably find one in the valley. It shouldn't be that difficult. Probably Dragon's Reach would be your best bet. Brandon's going to look at Colin. Yes, we are familiar with drakes. We used to have one as a pet for a while. Really? One of my former employees. God bless her. God bless her so. She tamed one before. Well, it doesn't sound like she tamed it very well. Well, when you fight, when you're fighting a sea monster, sea beast, and it decides to have a drake for a snack, you let it take that instead of your people.

We're a very rowdy mining group. Well, it seems like you all live very exciting lives. This shouldn't be too much of a challenge for you then. If you're interested, I could give you a list of some other ingredients I'm looking for. And in the meantime, while I'm waiting for my shipment, I could pay you. We are technically far higher for other tasks. I don't want to take you away from your mining, of course. Oh, no, no. Well, we're going to be a little slow with all one hands over here. I was going to look back at Calvin. I'm sorry, I can't. Callie's going to be up.

We can definitely look for some extra herbs for you. All right. I'll write some more down and I'll pay you per herb for what you bring me. I'll give you a fair price. I promise. Yay. So she's going to write a handful of herbs. And who has a... well, okay, this is a dumb question, but who wants to give me a nature check? Me! Where... oh, here we go. Take point on this, druid. Yeah! Gorgeous. Holy moly. Gorgeous. So looking at this list, some of this stuff is cake. A lot of people outsource this type of thing, not because it's difficult, but because it's tedious.

A few of these herbs are just going to be your standard, like, it's like, I need some wildflowers type of thing. Like, it's like, oh, yeah, I know where that is. Like, it's a hike, but it's not dangerous or anything. It's just kind of tedious. Some of them are going to be a little more... obviously the Drake, the baby Drake is going to be difficult, obviously. That's probably going to be the most dangerous. You called it a lizard. Yes, well, yes. That's probably going to be your... the big one. A couple of these ingredients will take you to places around the mountain here that...

They're dangerous areas. And you could run into... I mean, okay, obviously, worst case scenario, we're talking horrendous luck. You run into a dragon. I'm talking... What kind of dragon, Jason? What color dragon are we talking about? We're talking red. Okay, good. You say horrendous luck. I say super good luck. Oh, no. So, yeah, that's pretty much what you're looking at. So, a few of these herbs, super easy. And a couple of these, if you bring them back and she's saying she's going to pay a fair price... Some of these are going to take you to the, you know, some of these are going to take you to the Hazon Mountains.

That's a hike. And bringing that back, a fair price, you could walk away with a good amount of gold if you get a good haul. Well, I mean, we're going to be millionaires because we have nothing right now. Can we do it all, though? That is the question. Ah, it's like Skyrim. You know, you do the side quest and you're like, "Oh, I got to come back." And then you come back and throw it off. Got it. Totally in control. We can do this. Hey, how about we, while we're taking just a second to think about this, how about we catch up with Tatiana and Alina? Kyle. Cool.

So, you're going to approach the sheriff here who's still kind of hanging around the gates, sort of pacing back and forth. And he's kind of conferring with a few different people as you're approaching. Can I make one thing, Cannon, really quickly? Absolutely. That when they were walking across the town, they were holding hands. OK, continue. Aw. Gotta keep up with the stick, man. That's cute. So as Taron sees you approach, he'll nod and he's going to hold up a finger to the group he's talking to. One second. Can I help you two with anything? Yeah, we were actually wondering if we might be able to have a few minutes of your time.

Yeah, things have lightened up around here. Sure. OK, so she's going to sort of like not take a couple steps away from that previous group he was talking to to make it more of like a, "Yeah, come on over here. Let's talk about this real quick." Yeah, he'll kind of take a break from that. So we, my friend and I here, we were staying at the inn and just popped over to the tavern last night for a minute or so and we met those assholes you were talking about. I'm sorry about that. Yeah, they, um, pretty rowdy, I'll say. We're going to be cleaning up the bar for a while, I think.

Yeah, I can definitely see why. But more importantly, we actually found something that we thought we should probably relate to the authorities and she's going to take out the journal but look around really quickly to make sure there's no fang members around to see her do this. Do me a favor, roll a perception check. You don't see any. OK. So she's going to sort of pull it out and, and show him and be like, "We found this journal from one of those assholes and it says that they're planning on doing some pretty gnarly stuff." He's going to reach for it, but at the same time, you found it.

Yeah, you know, you know drunks, they just leave stuff everywhere. Mm hmm. And he's going to take out these reading glasses and put them on kind of at the edge of his nose. And he's going to start thumbing through this. You mind breaking this down for me, maybe translating? Sure, I'll do my best. It's very hard to decipher. Is this written in code? It's written by like a toddler. Ah. So I'm imagining like a little exposition dump type of thing? Yeah. So you're saying they're heading to Donhurst? Yeah. He's going to wave, he's going to wave over those people he was talking to.

Just a second. He's going to hold up his finger to you. Go ahead and get word to Donhurst right away. Send a raven out now. And he's going to lean back to you. Well, thank you very much for bringing this to our attention. We don't have a ton of time to get word to them, but we're going to do our best. Hopefully they can prepare. No problem at all. I mean, your city has been nothing but kind to us. Is there anything that we can do to help in some way? No, I knew that we were up to no good and then with the huge pack of them came through in the middle of the night, I was just glad they were leaving our town.

But I had no idea that's what they were up to. We're going to do our best to take care of things and if any of the rest of them break the law in town, we'll detain them. Okay. Well, thank you very much. And she's going to look towards Elena. Is there anything else I was supposed to say to this guy? He said that if there's anyone else in town, he'll detain them. Should we try and get in on that? Go for it. Bring it up. Okay, so Elena will speak up and say, "You mentioned something about detaining people?" Yeah, there's only about a dozen of them left. They haven't technically broken any laws, though.

If you were to catch some of them breaking the law, would there be any way for you to sort of notify us about it? We were hoping to actually talk to some of them safely. They do something to you? You got business with them? No. So let me understand this. You have no business with them. They've done nothing to you and you want to personally question them. Yes, that sounds correct, sir. Do me a favor. Roll a deception check. Okay. Oh my god. That's a 19, everybody. Wait, Val, you have no bonus to deception? No, it's a zero. Wow, that's still very good. That got almost a crit.

Oh yeah. I don't suppose it would hurt to help with the investigation if you really wanted to. You understand that I can't leave you alone with them and I can't have you hurt in them, right? No, no, of course not. We're just two young ladies. We don't hurt people. Ma'am, I'm not stupid and you are traveling with weapons and armor. I mean, we do have skills that we want to offer to the town in hopes of, you know, crushing these evil doers and she's going to look like really… She's going to look like really… her noblest pose. Trust me, I'm not complaining.

You've already helped out stellarly and we're just getting to Don Hurst as we speak, but I still got to go buy the book on a lot of this. So yeah, you can help out. That's fine. We can't do anything unlawful to them just because we don't like them. Trust me. Of course, I understand. Is there anything else? I think that's it. I don't believe so. If we do run into one of these ne'er-do-wells and they need detaining after breaking some sort of law, where would we bring them? Noble pose. Well, you can either call for a guard or you can bring them down to, uh, right next to town hall.

There's a detention center there. Again, there has to be some sort of proof of a crime. We can't just pull people in off the streets because we don't like them. Okay? Understood. Yes. He's going to take those reading glasses off and put them in his front pocket. And I will leave you to your work, ladies. Little salute. Do we get the book back? That's one of those things that I think he's going to hold on to to get any, like, if that's the proof that they're about to do something, that's one of those things. You've brought him evidence. That's how it kind of works.

Okay. Cool. So let's get back to the shop here. Is there anything else you guys want to do or talk to Jordana about? I think we, we just sort of like agree. Oh, um, Cauldron will be like, uh, well, I guess, I guess thank you for this. We'll try and, we'll try and get these and thank you for your, for your expertise. Uh, do you, there's a couple of things I was looking to purchase. Do you sell oil here? Just plain oil? Yeah, just plain oil. Sure. Yeah. Uh, how much do you need? Um, maybe two or three, uh, small jars of it. Hmm. You're not looking for something edible here.

Does it, does it matter? Oh yeah. Not, uh, more, uh, flammable for torches, lamps, that kind of thing. Oh, lamp oil. I think I have some sitting around. I'm not really stocked up at the moment, but yeah, I think I can help you out. I'll, I'll take what you got. All right. Anything else? Guys? No. Brailen feels the less he says the better at this point. Oh man. Oh, Valerie. Valerie, what are you... Get your mind out of the gutter. You're supposed to be excited about like chemistry and stuff. You're here to talk about lube and shit. I didn't say anything. How dare you?

That's you. I have written proof. You are so angry at sex as a concept and you type lube in the chat. Yeah. Yeah. Do you have any water, do you have any water-based lube back there? No, water-based dries out so quickly. What the fuck? What the hell now? Oh no, she's right. She's right. You have to keep reapplying it. Do you have any coconut oil? Um, that's more for massage. Jesus Christ, Val. Here, let me write down some brand names for you. This is what we're gonna do. Roll for lube. Um, no, uh, we're gonna... That's the name of the episode now. Whatever you were thinking it was, it's not that anymore.

Roll for lube. Uh, yeah, I think we're good. I don't know how, however much it is. Maybe, you know, just like a couple of things of oil to like put in his bag. Yeah, so it'd be like two gold. Two gold? Jesus Christ. Do you have your wallet this time, Calvin? You said three jars, right? I'm thinking like mason jars full of oil. Yeah, that would be, that would be exactly, yeah. Okay. Okay, two gold, yeah. He's got his wallet, yeah, he pulls out two gold. He pays two gold. Alright. So, that'll pretty much wrap you guys up and, um... This better be the best lube on the market.

Oh, it's fucking good. Never have to reply. You'll never get clean again. Oh, no, um... Oh, boy. So, okay. Everybody's meeting up again, right? Yeah. I guess so, yeah. We didn't really talk about it, but I suppose, I suppose we meet back at the room or something, I guess. As long as it's not 1pm, it shouldn't kick us out. Yeah, you guys slept in pretty late. We had a rough day. I know. Um, yeah, let's meet, let's maybe meet back at the room. I guess we'll sort of like dump what we've talked about and we should maybe make a decision about like what to do next. Yeah, because now we got, we're in the herb business now.

Yeah, we've got, we've got a, we've got a list of herbs we can get. Oh, uh... Don't forget about our internship. Internship. Oh, deputies? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Let's do this. So we're going back to the room and, uh, Gabby's going to give you that friendly, and I was like, "Hi, did you decide?" She didn't ask, but it's one of those things like, "Yeah, speed it up." So, but she feels bad about the arm. So getting back to the room, I imagine there's an info dump. Uh, everybody informs everybody of everything. So everybody is caught up now. Mmm, Berlin does it in a very flashy, colorful fashion as well.

Yes. Um, Kaldin, I'll ask Tatiana, um, did you get horses? Horses? No, it kind of seems like the town wanted to handle it themselves. I mean, we got permission to help, but... I meant for Donhurst. Yeah, they're going to Donhurst. Well, shouldn't we go with them? I mean, that's where the, uh, that's where the bell is. Do you want to go after the bell, or do you want to get your arm? I mean, I guess I'm not sure what our priority should be. Hmm, well, I mean, Kaldin does look okay with one arm, but I would think saving people's lives would be first. Thank you.

Uh, I mean, if this bell, we don't even know what it does, it could be dangerous, but if we had that, at least in our possession, we could, you know, ask them for some demands, extra money, you know, whatever it is we're going to decide to do with it, just keep it out of their hands, basically. Okay, so we want to go get the bell. I mean, for the arm, we have to go up that way to Dragon's Reach anyway to see if we can get one of the ingredients. We'd be headed in that direction. Yeah, and then Jordana also mentioned Donhurst being one of the places for mechanical hands, I think is the way she said it.

Blood magic, mmm, no. Well, and maybe out of our price range at the moment. Well, I can always, you know, work the Breland magic, maybe talk them down to a price, and if they don't want to talk down to a price, I could walk out with whatever item we need, maybe, question mark. Um, well, I guess we'll see when we get there. And we need horses. So it sounds like you guys want to, you want to go to Donhurst. I mean, I called in a look at Tatiana and say, "Let's talk about the Hippogriff in the room, talking to Ripley. He has information that we might need.

I mean, he might know where the bell is, he might know about the Black Hand, and if what you tell me, I mean, if we could get that out of him before the bell is, out of him before the other Fang arrive, maybe even get them detained before we leave, that might be a good plan. And that's something we can do." And he looks around the room right now. Uh, Tatiana's gonna sort of look around the room to gauge the group's reaction. If that's what you guys want to do, we can, we can give it a try. I'm not 100% sure that he's gonna give us any information. But we can try.

You're right, you're right. There's no guarantee, but that's why we came up here. At least partly why we came up here. Yeah, we might as well try. So how do we want to do it? Well, we get them to commit a crime. And we've got me and Brelyn here. So, like an undercover operation, you'd say? No, in fact, the opposite. I say we go and make our presence known. Let them come at us and make a display that shows that they are attacking us or trying to do us harm. That's why I said undercover because I was trying to trick you, but that didn't work. You have to try harder than that, Brelyn.

I've known you for a little while now. Well, I mean, we could always do the old one too. I go play music and you just like stand next to me, bring a lot of attention to ourselves, get the guys to come out, start a little tussle. I'll call them to look to the rest of the party. Jason, with the amount of FANG members that are here and the amount of guards in town, would the town be able to handle it if, say, all of the FANG came and attacked Calvin and Brelyn? Everyone that was there last night. I mean, at peak performance, it would be a pretty big strain on the town, but in the shape that the rest of them are in this morning?

That's what I'm counting on. Okay. Okay. I'm not hating that answer. Okay. Plus, I mean, Brelyn flexes his biceps. We've seen a few scrapes in our days. Nothing we can't handle. I like that plan. So, to understand, are you going to the bar and just performing? Oh, the bar? The bar is child's play, Jason. I'm going to fucking town square. Ooh! The center of town. Madison Square Garden. Madison Square Garden, Lockford, downtown Lockford, however many. There's like five streets in Lockford, I'm assuming. It's not a ton. It's not a huge town. But it's not tiny. It's not super tiny.

We're talking like Alhambra. So, we're talking more intimate concert in the park type of thing. There's a nice little fountain in the middle of town, and you got a lot of foot traffic back and forth. You got a few shops and stuff down that way. You also got a bunch of vendors selling fruits and little baubles and stuff like that. There's a bit of an insensitive, "Oh, here's a little werewolf paw carving" type thing. Stuff like that. They got one thing that the town's known for, and some people play it to the hilt. Some people see that as a very painful reminder of things.

"I lost my whole family, but you keep selling your fucking werewolf kit shit." Those werewolf rolls keep popping up all over the place. Yeah, I'm going to town square. Yeah, Kalden will go with them. And if we're going to do this, I think Tatiana would send word to the sheriff to be at town square. Is she going to go there? Yeah, probably. And be like, "Hey, this thing's happening. You should come." I'll press the note he wrote from this morning and say, "I was going to have the herbalist mail this, but she, although she's very skilled in her shop, I don't know about if she could get it out, but this is to House Dragonkeep in Brightport.

Could you tell the sheriff to send this as quickly as he can?" And he'll press the letter and some gold into her hand. Like three gold, so something. Yeah, of course. No problem. And she'll take the letter and probably head out to give the sheriff word. Alright, so that is done. And Brailen is all set to perform. I want to know two things. One, what song are you going to kick things off with here? We're going to do The Wanderer from the Fallout 4 commercials. He's going to just go up there. "Excuse me, everybody!" He's going to have his instrument. I believe it's the lute.

He's going to pull off his back and flip it around. He's like, "This is one of my favorite songs. I hope you enjoy it. Please feel free to donate. I'm just a traveling bar. I don't make a lot of money anywhere. And I'd like to make some here." Here we go! And he's going to start playing The Wanderer. "Do me a favor, give me a performance check." Oh, God. "Now based on your performance check, a bunch of different things are going to happen, but let's see." Can I aid it all by shooting just a little bit of ice magic up in the air? Just like... very obviously like ice and snow little explosions around him.

"So obviously the attempt is to get attention and all that, so I'm going to say, 'Roll a performance check with advantage, sir.'" Okay, one second. "Ooh, okay. A couple of different things are going to happen. One, you're going to get the attention of a lot of people in town. Because obviously this is a bit of a spectacle. A lot of people are clapping along and it's like, 'Alright, yeah, I always like that song. Okay, cool.' That type of thing. You're also going to get some gold flicked your way. "I want you to do me a favor, roll a d12 for me." I gotta find it.

Nice, buskin! Did I do the wrong one? That was the d10. Yeah, just testing you. Good things you got. "One next to that." That's not bad. "9 gold. 9 gold going in Braylon's pocket." Don't worry, I'm going to split the proceeds, guys. I figured, but still. But I'm going to keep more. You earned it. I did pay for both rooms. I mean, no one asked us. And special effects. Come on. That's true. So eventually, throughout the course of the song, you're going to garner the attention of a lot of townsfolk. You're also going to garner... you're going to wake a couple of people up near the bar here.

And they're going to stretch and groan and then look over there. And it's going to take several minutes before any of them start going, 'Huh.' And one dude is going to nudge the other one really hard in the ribs. And after reacting, he's like, 'Ow, man. What are you doing?' That type of thing. He's going to pull out this paper, this kind of scroll, and just point to the scroll and kind of animatedly talking, then point over toward Braylon. So there's a picture of me somewhere out there. Oh, there is. I need to get that scroll. I want to see how they drew me.

It better be good. I make a mental note that I need to get one of those scrolls off one of the guys. I'm assuming they're going to kill. So they're going to stand up abruptly and one of them is going to shout toward the... one of them is going to shout into the bar here. And Ripley's going to pop his head out along with about eight other dudes. That's too many already. I don't like it. You got 11 folks. You got about 11 folks coming your way. Double digits. Good. They are going to make a beeline for Braylon. I think during his performance, during the song, Braylon is going to interject in the parts where it's just instruments.

He's going to play, 'This is Braylon Gobuck, everybody! Child star, bright four!' He's going to like... 'I'm indeed the person you're looking for!' 'I was a child star!' He's going to keep saying it over and over again. And everyone's going to be clapping along and be like, 'That's a little weird, but I like the song!' That chorus! I don't know. He's just doing a bit of marketing, a little self-promotion in the middle there. He threw his Twitter name in there like nine times. That was strange. Did I notice the guys coming towards me? Oh God, yeah! It would be impossible not to!

As I'm performing and I see them, I'm going to like... In my head, Braylon's like... There's no platform. He's just standing on some sort of fountain, I'm assuming. Some sort of display they have in Town Square. I'm going to perform and walk towards where Cauldron's standing, kick him in the shoulder, and then move his head to point in a direction where the guys are coming. Oh yeah, Cauldron would see them. Cauldron will nod and just tell him, 'Let them make the first move.' Shortly after that, they're going to draw weapons. There's a few dudes with crossbows.

They're going to level them at Braylon. Ripley is going to approach, walk right up to Braylon, and wrap his hand around the neck of Braylon's loot. How dare you? Braylon's like, 'Excuse me, sir. I'm not quite done yet. If you want autographs, you have to wait until the song's over. Ha ha ha ha!' And he's going to lean in close. Nah. You're pretty done. I'm going to look at Cauldron. Is this the first move? Cauldron's going to say really loud, 'Let go of my friend!' Ha ha ha ha! So you're going to notice a few of the town guards start to close in here, and they haven't drawn weapons yet, but they're kind of eyeballing the situation, and the Sheriff is kind of walking over.

In the meantime, Ripley is going to draw a dagger. Okay, I'm going to look at Cauldron and say, 'Okay, first move's over!' And then I'm going to use Thunderclap. Oh, you're going to use what? Thunderclap. Uh, hold on. Cauldron, I hope you're not within five feet of me, buddy. Uh, I think I probably am. So, each creature within five feet of you, yeah. Cauldron, I'm so sorry. Oofy doofy. Lay it on me. Am I going to be deaf? Everyone around me needs to make a Constitution saving throw. Alright, so let's...man. I mean, I think definitely Cauldron is definitely there.

For sure, because I kicked you in the shoulder. Yeah. Oh boy, what's the save here? Okay, yeah. You did it! Cauldron, you saved yourself. That guy did not. Ripley did not! Good. So, how does this go down? How does this manifest? I switch from playing the Wanderer into How Do We Is What Is Love, and I hit that first chord. Bam, bam, bam. I'm not using my loop. And on a failed save, the creature takes 1d600 damage. Okay. So, wow, okay, that is not a great start. Okay. Every creature within 100 feet of you can hear the sound, the burst. Jesus. So, everyone's going to go from listening to this jaunty little...

And then they're going to listen to that, and it's like, okay, that's pretty fun. And then all of a sudden, it's just blaring early 90s techno dance beat. It's like, that is a drastic shift in tone. So, everyone's just going to go, "Ugh, I wasn't ready for that." Ripley's going to cover his ears right away and almost go down to one knee, just like, "Mmm, that hurt." And then he is going to grab that dagger again and just raise it above his head, and that is basically the point where most of the town card jump in. And then he starts screaming at him.

Sadly, he can't hear it. Hahahaha! Beautiful! So... Oh, go ahead. I just want to do one... While he raises this dagger and the guards are screaming, Cauldin probably has seen Brailin do this before, so he knows the sign and covered his ear beforehand. So, he wasn't deafened. So, when he does this dagger come up, he is going to shape the water of the fountain so that it splashes into Ripley's face. It doesn't do any damage, but he is going to get wet and splashed. Okay. Hmm. Thanks for the assist. Do me a favor, make an Arcana check. So, unless it's super low, then we're...

Okay, yeah. So, that's going to slow Ripley down just for a second. Just kind of like, "What the hell?" That type of thing. So, just kind of watering his eyes. I'd say he'd still make the attack because it's just water splashing him, right? But he's going to roll with a disadvantage. Nice. So, let's do that. That is not doing it. Nope. Oh, there he goes. Holy shit! We dropped a 20, but took a 16. Oh, boy. Six damage. Half. That's almost half. That's over half. He's pretty skilled with this dagger. Did he take the six damage from... He did. Damn it. 1d6. Did you do that or did you just give him six straight up?

I was just going to do my favorite roll. I was just going to give him six. I thought it was six damage. Oh, boy. Good. It has to go in my mouth. Oh, good. So, Ripley's going to take one damage from, you know, boom. Just that going off next to him. And, Brelyn's going to take six. So, let's do that really quickly just so we don't forget. The guards are going to close in and leap on Ripley. And he is going to end up dropping this dagger as they reel back on him. Three guards are going to jump him. And a bunch more. This is a full-on Donnybrook now because it is just...

There's been a stabbing in Town Square. This went from, "Hey, stop playing your music and come with us" to "stab." Boom. Like that. It's a spectacle now. Everyone's going to start backing up. It's like, "Oh, God. Oh, no." Cauldin's going to grab Brelyn and just try and pull him away from the group. And then grab the money before... Cauldin's pulling him by his feet like, "Come on, come on." He's grabbing with his hands. So, here's what we're going to do. I want someone to roll a d20 for me with advantage. The higher the number, the better these townspeople are going to deal with the fang.

Does that sound fair? Wait, the people or the guards? Well, yeah, the cards, yes. Oh, so people jumping in, militias jumping in? Well, on a particularly high roll, a few townspeople could jump in and just be... A bard got stabbed. I think that's got to be you. You, Brelyn. I know why, guys. You got to kick this off. I think you got to roll the die. It's a d20 with advantage. Wow. What did I say? What did I say? Wow. Yikesies. Well, we dropped a 2. I got a 5. And we... What's the modifier? I really wish I had See the Future. Who wants the future right now? Oh, yeah. Remember that?

I think wizards can do that now. Wizards, yeah. Yeah, they have some version of that. Six guards are going to die today. Oh, no! And... I thought you were going to be like, six guards are going to come to our aid. No, they're just going to die. One Fang member is going to die. That is the worst. Oh, my God. But eventually, the Fang is going to be apprehended. Ten of them are going to be taken into custody. One of them is going to be taken away in a body bag. (sigh) Lockfort doesn't have a huge army or militia or anything like that. They have basically volunteer town guards.

Some of the larger, stronger people who want to keep this town safe don't want to see anything happen like what happened a long time ago. And six of them died today. Which is an utter tragedy. They are not going to treat these Fang members kindly. I thought you were going to say they were going to treat me bad because I cost them. No! You got stabbed in the middle. You were performing. And were stabbed. Hey, Jason. Where are... So we know where Ripley is because he's in custody. Where's Brent... I mean, Brock... Brock, Trent, Krista... Krista. I couldn't remember Krista and Trent.

Yeah. Well, is that something you'd ask the sheriff? Well, I meant more like, were they in that group that had a public scene? No. The sheriff is going to swoop in after all this is dealt with. And I imagine this takes a bit of time. Sheriff Taron is going to swoop in and check on Brailin to make sure he's okay. Brailin's going to look at Taron. Oh, well, you know, it's not the first time that I've been stabbed. I actually got a couple of hooks in me one time. I was on a boat. Long story. And that hurt worse than this. But for some reason, I feel like I bled a lot more this time.

If there's anything we can do, please let us know. I appreciate the performance. And that was just... I mean, we are going to travel later on, so we could use some kind of transportation to get any extra horses that might be lying around. Maybe hook us up with that. That would be kind of cool. Well, let me see what I can do. Our stable was cleaned out this morning when the rest of them came through. But let me see what I can do. Maybe I could just give you my personal card and you could take that on the road with you. Oh, yeah, that would be nice. Thank you.

That would be very appreciated. I would walk, but he was going to move his hand. But I got stabbed. Todd's the analyst. Oh, sorry. No, I called in a hug Braylon and say, "You're real brave out there. Real brave out there, buddy." Bravery doesn't pay well, but this time it did. He's going to smile a little bit. I guess it'll be an awkward hug, like around the shoulder. Yeah, one-arm hug. You said Tatiana was going to do something? Yeah, she's just going to sort of interject. Sheriff, is it possible at all to speak to the offenders? I know that we had talked about it earlier.

Well, I'm going to level with you. I was kind of hoping they'd commit some kind of minor crime so we could take them in and ship them off somewhere where they could handle it, but they're probably going to hang for this. This is bad. Braylon's not going to hang well. Oh, hanging? We do that here? Only in extreme cases, but they killed six men today. Oh, yeah, of course. I saw that. I'm sorry for that. That's a tragedy. If you want to say something to them, I can arrange that, but try and keep it brief because we have a lot of work to do around here. I figure that's the least we can do.

Thank you. Of course. Can we help with your dead at all? Yeah, like carrying them would be... I can help with that as well. I know it's not much, but they came to our aid and died at the hands of these marauders. It seems sad just to not do anything. That would be very much appreciated. Yeah, thank you. And hey, just for a quick... Are more of them coming? Oh, they came. Oh, they came. Oh, okay. I thought more fang were going to show up at some point. Oh, they were. Let's back up. There's been a misunderstanding. Remember when I had you roll? Which time? The time you rolled an eleven.

Oh, yes. Yeah. That's how many hours you slept. Oh, okay. If you've noticed, every time you've spoken to an NBC, they kept saying, "Oh, well, I guess you could get good afternoon." That type of thing. And they rolled through this morning. That's why there's only leftover breakfast shits left. That's also why there's only a couple of fang members. That's also why when you spoke to the sheriff, it's like, "Yeah, a ton of them rolled through this morning. I knew they were up to no good." That type of thing. Okay, so... I think we should have checked the sun or anything.

Wow, the sun's real high for a morning. I've said afternoon three or four times. Yeah, I did. I remember now. And then that was it. I didn't think that there was more to it. Okay, so a bunch of them came and left. Would we know if, based on the information that we had, that these were the ones... Well, Ripley was going to Brightport, so no one's gone to Brightport yet. They're headed to Donhurst. Yeah, that's the obvious answer, yes. Oh, boy. So that's not for metagame reasons or anything. Colin's gonna notice now that it's later in the day. It's gonna hit all of us, I think.

We're all gonna be like, "Oh, shit, wait a minute." It may not have already been true the whole time. Let's say this. In fact, I think it would be in canon. Maybe Colin would ask, "Aren't more of the fang coming? Shouldn't we be expecting more?" Yeah, let's say that that conversation took place. It's like, "Yeah, I'm glad the rest..." Let's say it was just a thing. After all this activity, it's like, "Oh, at least there weren't more of them. This could have been a lot worse." That type of thing after the dead. I mean, that's pretty much where the natural progression of this conversation was gonna be going.

So it's not really meta. It's more something terrible had to happen for you to notice. Yeah, yeah. Okay. Cauldron will look right at the sheriff and say, "I'm not sure if a cart will get us there fast enough. We had planned to get out ahead of them, but it seems we'll need speed." Well, I... What are you planning on doing? Ambushing them? There were dozens of them. Hundreds, really. Just almost... 150, 200 strong, if I had to take a guess. And then Brandon's gonna look at the sheriff. "Oh, so 200 bandits guys riding to Donhurst. And no one sent a message to them like, 'Hey, these guys could potentially be rolling through town messing everything up.'" They were riding north.

We didn't know where they were going or why they were going there. No, we're not planning on ambushing them, but we wanted to help the people of Donhurst. Potentially warn them. And if we can get there faster, we're fewer and lighter. If we can get there before them, then we'll be able to raise an alarm. Do me a favor, roll a persuasion check with advantage. How do I do... Oh, I just click the advantage? Okay. Yeah, the little gutchin. Ooh, yeah! We're dropping a 6, taking that 19. I could talk to Danny, but... Danny raises some thoroughbreds on the edge of town, but I don't know if he'd be willing to part with them.

If I told him the severity of everything, he might loan them to you, but you have... you have to promise to bring these horses back. In no less than the condition they were loaned to you. And no more than a week. That sounds within our power. Maybe do that. We'll do that, yeah. We'll take responsibility for these horses, absolutely. If they will speed us to Donhurst. Let me see what I can do, alright? Thank you, Sheriff. For now, let us deal with the dead. I'll go talk to Danny. And I'll arrange for you to be able to speak with the leader of their gang, alright?

Awesome. Thank you. Breton's gonna look around. He's gonna say, "Hold on, one second, guys. Is there like a clerk? Like a clerk for this Sheriff office? Do they have like some sort of administrator or something?" Yeah. Okay, well I'm gonna go to the administrator and ask them if the six dead guards had family or like which of them had like family or were they caring for people somebody left behind? Oh, God. Well, yeah, there's six of them. They usually take up like some sort of collection in town, that type of thing. Okay, yeah, so he's gonna donate... it's gonna hurt him.

He's gonna donate the nine gold that he got from the performance. Aww. Good for you. For the dead guards. That's cool. And he gives the... it's like in Ghost when... what's her name? Whipping over the hands of the hud, over the check? Standing over a bag of gold like, "Ahh." It's a Breton like anonymous donation and they're like, "Thank you." And then he starts to walk out and he's like, "It's Breton Gufbo!" Hey, Jason. Yes. You're coming in a little lower. We were gonna go right into interrogation mode, but Tatiana really quickly wanted to go back to the inn and sort of search those rooms of the people who are no... who are like in captivity now.

Okay. First you're coming in just a little low. Oh, I am? Okay. Sorry. Hi. Hi. Is this any better? Yeah. Do me a favor. Roll an investigation check. Okay. You're not gonna find too much. Honestly, there are only a few of them staying there that looks like they cleaned out a bit before they left. You're gonna... honestly, mostly a mess is what you're gonna find. That type of thing. Nothing huge. Poor Gabby. Yeah. That's... poor town. These guys left everything in a wreck and then they killed people. Hoofy doof. At some point in all of this, Callie's gonna take a look at Braelon's stab wound and heal him.

Good. Oh my god. Thank you so much. So there you go. Yeah! I'm back! Oh, dang. Extra health! Woo! Nice. I wish it was like Protoss so you could have extra health become the shield. What does that... what does that look like, Karen? Probably just like... definitely just like wiping away all the blood and be like, "Oh, it's not too bad." And just like putting some herbs on it and just bandaging it up really nice. You know, it'll be okay. You see the size of that knife? Man, I thought he was gonna gut me like a fish. You think it's gonna leave a mark? I think it's gonna leave a mark.

I think... I think you'll get a little scar, but some girls like that. Oh, that's why I kept the other ones and he's gonna show the hook marks. Oh yeah. I remember those. So... Every chance he gets. So let's... let's talk here about Ripley. So Ripley is going to be placed in a room tied down to a chair. Which is where they question people. These guards are not happy. Like, at all. And they are going to not so gently place him in this room for you guys. And they're gonna leave. Now, under normal circumstances, they would have someone kind of monitoring the area in the room.

Probably a couple of guards making sure that in a circumstance where they would let you talk to a prisoner, that you wouldn't do anything drastic to try and hurt them. They left. They left and closed the door behind them. Is there like a... this is such a weird question for Theria. Is there like a two-way... No. No, it is a room. It is a room. I don't think Tatiana would go in then. Would you go in with someone else? Like, do you just meet alone or like at all? Just head-on Jason. I mean at all and I don't think she would let Elena go in either. Why did you roll a dice, Jason?

I rolled a d10. And rolled a 10, by the way. To see the level of brutality that these guards laid into Ripley with. They fucked him up. Because he was the ringleader. Because he was the first one to throw... to kind of throw a punch. Stab. Stab. And to kick all this off and the loss of life, they hurt him. He is swollen and bloody. And yeah, he is hurting. Now will he go in? No. I'll call in a look at... I'm assuming we're all at the door, like about to go in to talk. You know, notice his hesitation and sort of like give a quizzical look at Tatiana and be like, "Are you not coming in?" She'll sort of look down at the ground and just be like, "I just don't know...

I don't know if it's a good idea to let Elena and I's cover get blown. I know he's in custody, but I'm telling you, if I know Ripley, it's not for long. Not for long what? He'll figure some way out of this situation. He always does. And she looks really annoyed. Well, I admit I don't know him as well as you do, but if he doesn't, this might be the last time... the last chance you have to talk to him. She's going to sort of ponder that for a minute and maybe even turn away from the group. Yeah, Kalden will come up to her and just like put his hand on her shoulder and say, "Let's do this.

We're going to go in. We're going to ask some questions. You wait out here and we'll come back out and see if you want to say anything. How does that sound?" Okay. Good. And he'll give her like a reassuring squeeze and then head in. And Tatiana is going to be listening through the door for sure. So again, Ripley's going to be tied to this chair, kind of bleeding all over himself at this point. Not so much that there's a danger of him losing enough blood that he would die, but he is not looking pretty. And he's going to raise his head and one of his eyes is all but swollen shut.

And the other one, he's going to focus on the group walking in the door. Is everyone except Tatiana coming in? Yeah, I think I'd like to face my assailant. I think Allie would go just to make sure things didn't get too out of control. Yeah, and if Tatiana is okay with it, Elena wants to go in too. Kalden will look at him and enter a gesture to Braylon and himself and say, "Do you know who we are?" Yeah, I got a pretty good inkling. Braylon's going to step forward. You get that paper with our pictures on it? I did, yeah. Do you know where I can get one? They took most of our stuff.

They don't let you have too much on the inside. You know, and he's going to spit blood out to the side. I did not think this tiny little podunk town was going to try and get in our way. I honestly thought they'd let us grab you and walk right out. Well, you see, Ripley, that's the problem with your kind, Thugs. You don't think he's going to point to his head? I'm going to be right in his face and point to my head. I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with you there, Braylon. I made an error. It was a judgment call and it was... It was a bad one. Yeah, we end up usually being more trouble than we're worth.

That's what I've heard, but... But I wouldn't say I don't think. They really did a number on you, huh? Yeah, well, you know, due process and all that. So what do you want? I mean, they got us, right? Yeah, they're saying that after killing six of their guards, you might hang for this. In fact, they're pretty keen on it. Oh, I kind of figured. Yeah, we'll see. I suppose. We don't plan to be here for when that happens. Braylon's going to look at Colin. Oh, we're not? Oh. How disappointing. How's your shoulder? Braylon will look at Ripley. Fine. Not too bad. I've had worse.

We don't have a lot of time, so I guess we'll just get right to it. And I hope that you'll be honest with us. Go on. We know that you had wanted to detain us and take us back to Brightport to curry favor with the Black Hand. And, well, that's clearly not going to happen anymore. But how did that meeting go about? When did you meet the Black Hand? Do me a favor. Roll a persuasion check. Well, it was kind of a no-brainer, right? I've been in Brightport for a while. I've got a pretty decent reputation there. And there's times when really powerful people don't want to get their hands dirty. [coughing] So they hit up people like me.

We've done a few favors for them, and they give us a few things in return. And this was supposed to be the big one. We do this for them. They bring us in. Official. Guess it didn't quite work out that way, though, huh? Cauldin will shake his head no. He says, "So, did you ever actually meet the Black Hand? Talk to them directly? Or did you liaison with someone?" The way I understand it, no one actually talks to the Black Hand. Someone comes to you. You get the gist real quick. And you either work with them or you don't. Well, Brown's gonna look at Cauldin, making sure that he's not looking at Ripley can't see his face.

And he's gonna look at Cauldin like no one sees the Black Hand. Kind of just give him a quizzical look. Yeah, Cauldin will just acknowledge that. And he'll turn back to Ripley. I'm assuming his hands are tied up? Oh, he's tied to that chair. He's not going anywhere. Okay. Cauldin will take out his water skin and uncork it and just sort of like, as he's asking, he'll say, "So, the Black Hand sought you out while you were in Brightport." And he'll make a gesture with the water skin like, "You want some?" And he'll kind of nod his head like, "Yeah, sure." And he'll take a drink.

Yeah, Cauldin will come over and just like real, not aggressively, just like give him a drink of water and then step back. Yep. They came to us. We did a few jobs here and there. Nothing huge. Just kind of proving yourself type of stuff. Went a little rocky at first, but after a while, you kind of get into the swing of things. Kind of understand what they want. What do you mean a little rocky? Did they not trust you at first? I've been at this for over two years. I get the feeling they don't trust many people. Again, never met them in person. Any of the people that you did deal with, were any of them hulking, silent, hooded, give you a sense of dread?

Couple of times. They got some big people working for them. How many would you say? Best guess? I don't know. A dozen. Two dozen. It's been a couple of years, so could have been the same folks. Never really see their faces. Again, pretty big folks. Brandon's going to look at Cauldin again, this time with like a big, big exaggerated frown. Mm-hmm. Cauldin will nod at him again. And he'll say, "And this bell. Why does the Black Hand want this bell? Can you tell me what you know about it?" Wow. I gotta say, I am impressed. How'd you hear about the bell? I gotta know.

Well, if I'm being honest, we learned about it from, uh, from one of you. Someone named Trent. Do me a favor, roll a deception roll. Wait for that. Oh, no! That is a cripple, ladies and gentlemen. Ice cold! You don't say. As long as we're being so honest with each other, you mind if I ask you a question or two? You know what one of the perks is to having really powerful friends? Depends on the friend. Well, one of the perks is that stuff like this doesn't bother me too much. I'm not that worried. I think I'm going to be fine. And in a few days, I'll walk right out of here.

Now you, on the other hand, one of the reasons I've been so generous with information is that I'm staring at a dead man. Two, in fact. It's only a matter of time, man. If it's not me bringing you in, it's them coming looking for you. And, if I'm being honest, at least I had incentive to bring you back alive. What do you think's gonna happen when they finally catch up to you? You still didn't answer my question about the bell. Fine. Bell's some sort of religious artifact. Those that believe in that shit think it can bring people back from the dead. Now, I don't really care what it does.

I was just tasked with bringing it back to the boss. How did you think you were gonna get it? Do you know where it is? I mean, Donhurst has walls that can repel orcs. Were you just going to crash into them? You remember that thinking thing I was telling you about. I didn't get as far as I have without having a plan or two, you know? And even though I do have some morons in my employ, they take orders pretty well for the most part. Only a few folks are going in at first. We know right where the bell is. And then once we have control of the gate, we let the rest in.

They usually aren't too picky about letting humans and elves and such into the city. It's just the orcs that really rub them the wrong way. Oh, so you were going to use a bit of subterfuge in his cannon. He stumbles over that worm. What do you mean, "we're going to"? It's happening, buddy. Oh, well, Donhurst has been informed that people are on their way. We have the fastest ravens flying from here. And we have forces outside moving to aid, so I don't think it's going to happen exactly as you think. It might just be the case. Improvisation is a skill you need when you're in our line of work.

I'm sure the boys will figure out something. How about you and your friend? What plans do you have in the works to keep hiding? Well, that's sort of what we wanted to discuss. We don't want to hide. We don't want you and your men and women to pursue us any longer. I don't think it's going to happen, but if you are able to get out of here, what would it take for you to go back to the Black Hand and tell them that we can't be found? That we were washed away, or better yet, that we died and our bodies washed away in the river. Whatever lie you would need to say, what would that take?

I gotta know something first. What'd you do to piss them off so much? You know they've been looking for you for a long time. Yeah, we know. It's been my experience that if you piss someone off that bad, they gotta have a reason to want you dead. We found ourselves on the raw end of a deal of the Black Hand and we ended up breaking it. Yeah, that's about the long and short of it. So this bell, where was it in the city that you were going to so easily get to it? There's a temple right in the center of town actually. They look into stuff like that. They have a little section of curios that they've locked away.

Kind of keep things on display sometimes. Wouldn't be too hard to get it if you know what you're looking for. Let's take a step back though. Mm-hmm. Uh, more water? Thanks. So let's say I could get you out of your predicament. What's in it for me? Well, we don't have a lot of liquid assets, but that's what we kind of wanted to ask. I mean, Blue Sky it if it's within our power. I'll tell you what. You get word to Don Hurst. You tell him that you made a mistake. There's nothing that's going to befall them or their city. You let us slip in, get what we need, no one gets hurt, and we get it back to the Hand.

And I personally get you two off the hook. We'll fake your death. We'll do it up right. And they'll stop looking for you forever. As long as you don't do anything stupid in public, it'll be fine. That's my terms. Mm-hmm. Breland's going to look at Kaladin and shake his head like, "No." Yeah, I don't know if it can be guaranteed that the people of Don Hurst won't be hurt. And I don't know if your life can be guaranteed. Not at this point. Those terms are unfortunately too much of a gamble. Well, my folks were already going in with the intention of not killing anybody.

We pretty much got things worked out from the inside of the city. Now, when it comes to me, short of some bruising and some scarring, I think I'm going to be just fine. Breland's going to step forward. No, I don't think you are. And I'm going to use Vicious Mockery on him really quickly. Whoa, whoa. What does that do? This is 1d4 psychic damage. Oh, you're going to tease him to death. Well, there are things you could say to a prisoner that could get to them. Go ahead. I can't target him. He's not here. What is it, a saving throw? Yeah, what is it? Saving throw.

Okay, on it. What, do you have disadvantage because he's tied up? Are we good cop bad copping right now? Yeah, I'd say that's disadvantage. He's in a pretty vulnerable position, right? Yeah, but he's such a slippery snake though. Oh, save? Yeah, it's an 8. He gets hit. 1d4 please. Okay. Roll it. Please. Oh, that's nice. That's another 3. What does Breland do? I would try and tell him that like, you know, the calvary is not coming. You're going to hang. The last thing you're going to remember is the feel of that that rope tightening around your neck and the fibers cutting into your throat as you gasp for air.

And Calvin will be like, Whoa, whoa, whoa, Breland, no need to be so graphic. I like to imagine that when Breland casts a spell, like Vishnmakri without the instrument, like his eyes kind of glaze over. Like it's some sort of art because it's arcane in some way, right? So I'm just flavor text. That's how you can tell when he's using his voice, the magic is being used. Oh, I like that. He's going to almost, um, his voice is going to be a little more hoarse. Just, just for a second. Well, let's say you're right. And I'm dead either way. Things are still in motion.

It's going to happen. Either we do it this way or we fall back and try again later. Your lives are still on the line just as much as mine. The only difference, oh, sorry, go ahead. Sorry. Just go ahead. And let's say I die. I got someone kind of just waiting in the wings to take over. It'll be fine. In the long run anyway. I'd like to do an insight check to see if he's lying. Go right ahead. But this guy, I have a feeling his blood, he's probably a huge check. Can I do one too? I'm not going to be able to figure that out. I'll let Callie try. Just because. We're both like, yes, I was right.

Yeah, basically, at the very least, he deeply believes it. Call in will like shake his head. Out of game, do we need to find out anything else? No, and I want to kill him so bad. Now I know why Tatiana hates him. Ann loves him. Not anymore. I almost feel like just calling her, I feel like just going outside and be like, oh, I finished the job and then bounce and then we go to Donners. Okay. Well, Call in will shake his head solemnly and he'll say, we don't have a lot to offer, like I said, but we do have powerful friends as well. No one like the Black Hand, but powerful, powerful friends.

Have you heard of the Paladins of Kord? Name strikes a bell, yeah. Well, they're as strong and zealous as they are stubborn, but they jump at any chance to prove themselves in the face of their god. And Brelin and I happen to have fought side by side with a few. Brelin, you remember that? I saved one's life. I mean, both of them were difficult personalities, but I would not want to be on the other side of their hammers and weapons. So, if your men do pursue us, and if this general in the wings does continue to come after us, we'll send word for these Paladins to come down upon you.

And it might take them some time, but the bigger you grow and the more renowned you are, the easier it will be for them to find you. And I don't know if the Black Hand is going to be able to go up against that temple. Those are our terms. Well now, maybe we could strike a new deal. See, my lady friend, like I said, she's been itching to take over, even if she doesn't know she has. I'm not worried about the group if I get taken out. Now, what I am worried about is losing all that progress with the Hand after two long years. So how about this? I can get word to my people tonight, and I can call the whole thing off, but I gotta get something in return.

And that's you two dead. So, if we can return to the Hand with proof that you two are gone and not gonna come back, at least half of this mess is gonna be dealt with. And we can figure something else out with the bell later. But I gotta walk tonight. How about that? Let's take a moment to talk it over. What do you need to prove that we're dead? Well... 'Cause I know of an arm somewhere on the road you might be able to get if it's not eaten by Carrion by now. Usually it's a head, that's the easiest way, but we can get away with something smaller from the two of you and come up with an elaborate story.

So maybe we take a couple of fingers or a hand, something like that. But again, I could sell that story. And you be off scot-free. And the bell? The attack on Donhurst? That'll be called off. Now like I said, I don't give a shit about this bell. But I know they do. They're gonna be after it again. But it'll buy some time. You might be right. Take your time. Think about it. Anyone else gotta say anything? I don't wanna talk to him. 'Cause I'm really close. In Braille's head, if we just kill him, it's like another check mark. That's one less problem we gotta deal with.

I was just gonna say, if we're ending the conversation, Cauldin will nod to Ripley and go to exit the room. So Braille will do the same. He will nod to him. He'll just look at him, chuckle, and leave the room. It was a pleasure. Yes! Had to get the last word in. I love it. Guys, I think, and this may seem a tiny bit anticlimactic, but I feel like the next big chunk of this is gonna be... you're gonna have to talk this over. But I feel like that's a good time for us to stop. I feel like emotionally I'm drained from that one, even though he barely said a word to me.

I did not think that would happen. I freaking knew it. I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. The guy's not a dummy. He's not hanging. Trust me, guys. I promise. He's gonna get out of this. Oh my god. He's like an evil Jack Sparrow. That's what he reminds me of. Oh, man. Tatiana, you got some 'splaining to do. What do you mean? My lady friend. That was good. And not at all what I was expecting. I don't think I was gonna get stabbed. I feel like Group B, for some reason, every time you guys make a plan, something goes sideways. But that's the way it's gotta happen. That's a Group B, Ghost of Group 2 kind of thing.

Yeah, of course. What was I gonna say? In the city of Esterhold, at the world famous Temple of Kord, a fresh-faced batch of recruits is going through the motions and training when one of them loses the rhythm and steps out of line. Naturally, the recruit's trainer notices this and takes action. Alright, stop. Sam. Come up here. Sam's gonna look down, 'cause he knows what's about to happen. You're gonna just under his breath. Oh, shit. And he is going to approach Una. I figure she'd probably do the slow walk in the circle around them, like drill sergeant style.

Yeah, he'll stand at attention, Mike. I'm gonna ask you a question, and I don't want you to answer it. What the hell do you think you were doing with that blade? I have had sex more dangerous than whatever the fuck you were flailing that around with. Come on! Mike, I don't want to be too harsh with you, because I know you're trying, but to be honest, if I had to list the top ten things that I would rather entrust that blade to than you, I would not be able to, because I would be stuck between the pickle I had with yesterday's lunch and the dirt that I am literally standing on right now.

I think the next time that you train, we should train probably a mile and a half underground so that nothing could possibly bear witness to the pathetic display of "Can I even call it swordsmanship that I have seen here today?" Julie's going to approach Una and put a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, can I talk to you for a second over here?" Yeah, she'll just kind of straighten up and go back, keep practicing. And she'll scuttle over with Julie. Yeah, Julie's gonna... That thing where you're like, "Okay." And again, hand on her shoulder just... What the hell was that?

I know, right? I mean, Christ, you'd think that he's wielded a butter knife or something before he comes here, but no, it's like that's the first... No, no. It's his second day, Una. You can't expect him to be battle-ready right out of the gate. He's got a little bit of a kid-gloves approach. That's what we're trying to do here. We're trying to nurture him a little bit, then we'll get a little tougher as things go on. I don't even know if he's ever held a sword before last week. I mean, Craig was pretty tough, right? Yeah, he was pretty tough, but look, some of these kids are fresh in off the streets.

They're from the orphanage, so I want to make sure that they have some kind of guidance, some sort of direction. Craig wasn't that tough on us when we first started. Yeah, Una would probably do up the little foot in the dirt, kind of kicking dust around a little bit for a couple seconds. And just say, "Yeah, yeah, all right. Yeah." It's tough. I've seen kids younger than him fight for their lives, so watching him flail around with that like it's a fucking bat is... Okay, yeah, I get it though. Julie's gonna have a seat here, and it's kind of a long bench, and she'd probably motion just, "Hey." Yeah, yeah, Una would sit.

I got an advanced class coming up tomorrow. If you want to lead them out, they're supposed to be hunting some kobolds. Ooh, yeah, Una's face would light up. I mean, I haven't killed a kobold in at least a month. Yeah, they're going after some local campsites, so we figured we'd send them out there, give them a little battle experience. Thought you might get a kick out of that. Yeah, like Una will just start nodding emphatically and kind of glance over to the group that's been training and just say, "I can't bring Sam, can I?" Hmm. Okay, if Sam sticks behind you the entire time, yeah, you can take him.

I mean, I don't think the kobolds are gonna hurt him as long as you're there, and you got the more well-trained recruits. Should be fine. Yeah, I guess more nodding, more like a light rubbing together of the hands in anticipation. You were right, I was probably hard on him. Maybe going out with the advanced class and being chosen specifically for a little mission will restore some of the credibility that I may or may not have just destroyed. You're fine. Look, it's an adjustment for everybody. Look, you're not the only one getting used to all this, and it's...

I mean, before you showed up, I'm struggling too. I don't know... There's some days I have no idea what I'm supposed to do, and that was all Craig. He knew all this. Well, to be fair, first of all, it's impossible to tell that you don't know what you're doing. And second of all, all the kids fucking love you, so I don't think you have anything to worry about. Julie's gonna look really touched. Like, that was... it kinda caught her off guard a little bit? Oh. Thanks, Una, that's really nice of you. That's gonna make Una look uncomfortable. Look, there's gonna be a time where we need to be extra tough on these kids, and that's where you're gonna be shining.

Trust me. It's... that day's coming. I mean, how else are we gonna keep the city in check? The city's always gonna need guards, and they gotta come from somewhere. Yeah, Una will grin and just say, "Oh, come on. When I'm done with these kids, they're gonna be better than guards." You, um... you doing okay with the rest of this? Living in the city, being in one place? Back to the foot in the dirt after a couple seconds, just a little shrug and just say, "Look, it's weird being back here, especially, but it's better to have people who I know and love around me than wandering around out in the world and killing anything that I didn't like." It's an improvement.

It just has its own challenges. She's gonna look like she wants to say something else and then think better of it and hold back. Well, I could use the help. That's for sure. So it's really appreciated that you're sticking around. Let's see. I think it's probably the conversation is probably getting a little more emotional than Una is comfortable with. So she'll just kind of shrug multiple times and be like, "Oh, my shoulders don't independently... Oh, God, they don't know what they're doing." Just be like, "Oh, okay." Motion. And she'll glance back at the recruits and say, "All right, okay.

I should probably get back at it with slightly less yelling." Yeah, sure. Yeah. If you need any help, let me know. Una will give her a crisp salute. And she'll give it right back. She'll get ready to head off back to her office. If everyone's practicing and whatnot, Una will go kind of striding up to Sam, just in the midst of practice. She's not going to try and call him to the front again. I should just say, all right, I may have been a little hard on you. You do at least have your grip right. But let's just say it's lucky for you that my sister is accepting of people with mistakes.

Okay? And it's lucky for me too. Now, all of you go do a lap. Go. Go. [Laughter] So yeah, they'll all take off and start running. Thank you guys so much for listening to today's episode. Holy crap, I can't wait to see what they do with Ripley and if they let him go, if they make a deal. I don't know. I can guarantee you we are going to be talking about it this Friday. That's October 27th at 9pm Eastern on twitch.tv/dandrpodcast. That's when we do extended rest. It's always the last Friday, every single month. We get a rotating panel of the cast to sit and essentially talk about every big thing that happened this month on the show.

And more importantly, we want to hear you guys sound off. We want to hear your thoughts. It's the time that we as the cast get to talk to you guys as the listeners and pick your brain. See what you liked, see what you didn't like. What are your thoughts? What do you think is going to happen? If you've never been to one before, it's actually a real blast and you should give it a shot sometime. We mentioned at the top of the show that this week's episode is brought to you by Patreon and again, we can't thank you guys enough for helping to support us. There are two major ways to help this show grow.

To get us to new heights, to have us do new stuff and be able to cover things that you guys ask us to cover. And one is obviously help support our Patreon. Check it out. There are a bunch of shows and extra stuff there that you might enjoy. We just added the Beastry, so werewolves and ghosts. Right now werewolves are on Patreon. If you've ever wanted to know how to run them on your table at home for a dollar, you get stats, you get lore stuff, you get a bunch of different things that you should know if you're running them on your table. We did Kobolds last month.

We're doing ghosts a little later in the month just as a bonus, like a twofer type of thing. Living in Theria where you guys ask questions about a given person, place, thing, topic, whatever, and we try to answer as many of them as possible. This month it was vampires and werewolves and holy god did you guys give us tons of questions. Thank you so much. It was over two hours worth of stuff. There are just so many shows on Patreon. Please, patreon.com/dandr. Go check that out. I'll stop rambling about that. If you have any questions or any big thing you can do, share links.

If you like our show, share it in your Facebook feed, share it in your Twitter feed. Share that. Give us a five star review on iTunes. That type of thing. Just generate more interest. Get people to listen because that's how we survive. That's basically it. That's how any podcast on the internet survives. If you like some of this stuff, pass it along to someone else. And that helps out more than you can know. Thanks for chilling. Thank you guys so much. For real. If you have feedback to give us, dandrpodcast@gmail.com. That's our email. Obviously dandrpodcast.com is our website.

We're going to be adding written content there. Rob's going to be doing some stuff. So in the coming months we're going to be doing some more stuff with the website and such. And yeah, I think that's it. Thank you guys so much and we'll see you next week with a brand new episode. Bye.
