I'm Jason, I'm the Dungeon Master.

Going around the table is starting with James. You almost knocked me out of my chair there. I'm sorry. I'm James, I play Esna Masoka, the half-elf rogue. And Susan. Hey, I'm Susan, I play Madeline Ryoin, the human cleric. And Rob. Hey, I'm Rob, I'm playing Ubo, the orc druid. Half-orc druid. And Michael. Hey, I'm Michael, and I play Amvin Yamil, the half-elf wizard. I almost called you Mike, and then I realized how weird that would sound, so I pulled back for a second. [laughter] And Kelsey! I am Kelsey, and I play Aster, the elven archer. And the birthday boy, Xavier!

Aw, you shouldn't have. I'm Xavier, and I play Donovan, the human fighter. Happy birthday! Yay! I hope I get a plus one sword. [laughter] Well, that depends on Amvin today. Oh, wow. It's all on Amvin. No pressure. No, of course not. We talked about what happened in the last session, and it is the 14th of yesterdays still. Now, most of the party is outside of this cave, and there was some lingering, if I'm to understand, around the area in the back with the gate and the bloodstain and tons and tons of notes. What would be the general sentiment here? Would it be to stay here and check this out or to wrap up and get going?

I think we decided on that while this is all very exciting and we have things to attend to, and we could always come back if we're allowed. Yeah, peace to you, peace to Trump. Not after taking a bunch of the scrolls for our own research. And you are taking some things with you. Maybe. Oh my gosh! Well, do me a favor. And this is not the d20 I want you to roll, but I want you to roll a d20 plus five. And the reason for this, oh good, the reason for this is I'd like to think that Amven's just kind of like just very quickly scanning these. It's like, okay, that seems pertinent.

Okay, good. Just kind of like looking for words or phrases that are like that could probably come in handy and just stuffing a few of these in a bag or something like that. But you're definitely taking some things with you. Yeah, I'm doing the beautiful mind move where I'm looking for everything and stuffing it in my bag. Everyone else who's, I believe it was Ubo and Ubo, Masoka and Donovan who were outside, right? Mm hmm. Okay. Just kind of hanging out, just, would there be any- Yeah, I think- Oh, sorry. I was just wondering, would there be any chit chat, any like, oh, lovely weather or something like that?

Probably a little bit. I think Donovan last session said he would be taking a small nap. So he's probably like with both hands behind his head leaning on the side of the wall of the cave in the entrance, just resting his eyes. Would Ubo and Masoka have anything to say to each other? After our hunt? Yeah. Oh, yeah, that's right. We went hunting. Yeah. Yes, I daggered some rabbits, I think. Yeah, it wasn't amazing. There have been- Oh, yeah, Ubo wasn't able to catch anything. Everybody has bad days. It's true. So it sounds like after grabbing some stuff, you guys are pretty much leaving the cave, kind of leaving this stuff behind?

I think so. Okay. And that means, and to be clear, you're heading toward the elves, right? That hasn't changed? Yeah, I think because we wanted to talk about the agreement. Okay. Once we leave the cave, Maddie prayed outside that door with all the names, but she's going to pray outside the cave itself to maybe like do a blessing or something. Yeah, like right at the entrance. Amven. Do me a favor, give me a flat d20. Sure. Watch this wonderful number. Hey, it's above a 10, I'll take it. That's true. So continuing, time's going to go by and the sun is going to start to dip.

Now, can we bark where this cave was so we can remember how to get back to it? Oh, yeah. Well, I imagine you were doing that on the map that you have. Once you figure out your bearings, like, okay, we're here, this is this, okay. Because I imagine it's not something you'd want to lose. No. Right. It's the annual refresher. Yeah. You're about a third of a day's walk from from Calcost now, and as you're setting up camp, you're going to hear a noise and it sounds like there's something kind of skulking around outside of your just outside of your vision somewhere.

It sounds like leaves are crunching like a little like just the just the tiniest snap of like a twig. And then you're going to just dead silence. What would everyone like to do? Like try to pinpoint where that came from? Try to percept it? Yeah. Do me a favor. Give me a perception. This sounds like it's coming coming from the south just just a bit. And then you're going to hear another one. And it's going to be about it's going to be about eight or so yards away from that one. You're just going to make out like a tale. So it's not like a smallish humanoid figure?

No, not humanoid. This definitely is wildlife. OK, well, reach for that shield and that that that war pick. Would you be telling anybody else? With the Lord voice, I'd say probably like that. We got two things roaming around. Get ready. Would Astar know of any like something that this could be that's like not something to be wary of? Like a like non-hostile wildlife or something? I don't know. Oh, well, a lot of wildlife has the potential to be hostile. It depends on how hungry the stuff is that's that's out there. Give me a nature check real quick because of this specific area.

Maybe you could pinpoint exactly what it might be. Oh, boy. You sure it's nature? Oh, there we go. Just because of this specific incident. These are probably dire wolves. Oh, that's not good, right? It's not great. So dire wolves tend to be more attacky creatures, but only if they're hungry. But if they're this close to you guys, they smelled you coming a mile away, which means they're probably hungry. Did you tell a group that is probably dire? Yeah, Astar is going to like get like their bow out and just kind of say like, it's probably dire wolves, which means not so great for us.

Get ready. Yeah, Ubo will gear up. Abby too. Or, Maddie too. What? Maddie from the abbey. Oh my God, it's happening. It's been too long, guys. That's a nickname I haven't heard in a while. Did we eat those rabbits that we caught or were you just carrying them around? Well, I would imagine you ate them. Because, I mean, it was for like a lunch, I imagine now. Yeah, I think we were hunting to cook. Yeah. We probably didn't dry them out or anything. Did I check if I knew any like knowledge of them, like weaknesses or any historical knowledge of it? Have you read about them?

Yeah. Anything of note that I would have out-read? I'll tell you what, on your turn, I can let you do a nature check. Sounds like a bad idea. You probably have high nature, I mean, your intelligence and stuff. Well, Ubo should probably be doing that if we're talking nature checks. Yeah, I'll leave it to my group's expertise. Actually, you know what, with my not as super int, maybe you would be better. I don't know. Okay, I don't get that in 5E why nature is intelligence, because druids are all wisdom based and they should have good nature, but yet they don't.

It's like cursory knowledge, stuff like that, remembering stuff about it. I don't know. Yeah. Oh well. Oh well. I'll do it if you want to. So have we been able to confirm that these are dire wolves yet or are we still just operating on the, hmm, maybe? Probably. Like, almost definitely, yes. Okay, could one Ubo the druid strike first and thusly get the drop on said dire wolf or wolves? I would say you can give it a shot, yes. Okay. So let me, here, let me show you a map and get you set up on some things here, because that might help. So you're gonna hear that first, that first noise, and I'd say it's a party-wide thing, you probably heard it.

And then that second noise, so that there, this thing is either very quick or there are multiples. So you said you wanted to try to attack out first, just kind of lash out. Yes. Alright. What did you have in mind? What did I have in mind? Okay, so do I see a point of rustling where I could, like, if I wanted to get up and swing a thing at it? Sure. Oh yeah. Okay. In the Immortal DNR Warcry, let's do this. I will use my bonus action to cast Flameblade. So I'm going to evoke a scimitar of fire into my hand and shout out, "Taste the rage of the mountain!" I thought you were gonna say rainbow.

No. And so a fiery blade springs in my free hand, you can actually make a melee spell attack. I hit 3d6 fire damage. Okay. Okay. Okay. So it's spent and I move there and this should be my spell attack. But first I need to control click my target. You sure do. There we go. And a swing. And that is low. That's a miss. Okay. And so I just kind of set fire to the ground, I guess. With the bush or ground next to it, that type of thing. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So that's going to miss. Two more wolves are going to creep out of the wilderness here. I'd like everyone to do me a favor and roll initiative.

I feel like I need the Final Fantasy. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Which one? There's so many good battle themes. The Final Fantasy. The movie. Twins. I have no modifier and I rolled the highest. Yeah. So we're going to start with Maddie. Now dire wolves are, again, when hungry, vicious animals. Very, very large, heavy. They like to pounce on things and hold them down and bite. Typical wolf behavior. But just imagine a much larger version of a regular wolf. What would Maddie like to do? Well, she's going to rush up and help her buddy. So bam. And then she's going to target dire wolf three and do some stuff.

She's going to slam her mace down on it, or at least she's going to try. Here we go. Get them. Nope. That's a three. Two or do not, there is no try. Well, that sadly is going to miss. Yeah. So she just runs up, goes, Oh God, fire. My good will. You are impressed. I get that a lot. And let's just do this. They like to get people locked in. I forgot about wolves. So we're going to target Maddie and with advantage, we are going to bite. That is going to hit. Hey, not nice. Seven damage. Whatevs. It's nothing. I got this, guys. Masocha. I remember how to fight. It's been so long.

It's been a while. What were the rules on doing the two attacks with the two daggers? Are we talking about throwing them or? I don't know. I believe. Okay. See if I remember this correctly. So I believe you get the two attacks because you're a rogue. You just don't get the modifier for the second swing. Right. Okay. If memory serves, Rob might be the. It's offhand. So you don't get them because you don't unless you have the fighter thing, which you don't. Right. So. Is it not just trying to remember? So I think it's just a modifier to the damage crap. So it was listening.

What's the what's the situation offhand attack? Do you get the bonus action? I can go retrieve my rule book if you want to, but I haven't actually opened a fifth that players handbook in like a month. Yeah, I have it right now. I'm trying to Google it right now. Yeah, I have it like in the paper flash. Okay. Yeah. I'll let you go forth then. So so you just want to know what's your attack bonuses? Does he get a modifier while swinging offhand? To the damage. Okay. I don't think he does for the damage. No, but for Freddie attack, he's got a normal attack. Yes. Yeah.

Okay. So instead of one before, but for just do one. I believe so. Yes. Attacking with the second weapon uses your bonus action and it does not add your ability modifier to damage. Okay, cool. Thanks. Sweet. And if I wanted to run in strike and then run back, I can't use the second hand, right? Yeah. So so for the second one, you attack as normal. You just only roll the dice for damage. Yeah. Yeah, basically that would be your bonus is to or without the second part of your move would be to disengage. Disengage. Yeah. Or you take the risk. Yeah. Oh, yeah. You could always do that too.

Which one bit, Matty? One or three? That would be one. Okay. So, okay. First, Masoko, I'll just say Dire Wolfs, more like diarrhea. I'm going to look back. He's going to look back to Donnie and be like, heh heh. And then he's going to run. I want him to run to the Dire Wolf and sort of like slide under him and then thrust his dagger up. Okay. You know what? Here's what we're going to do. I'm going to let you roll an acrobatics check. Okay. On a 13 or higher, you are going to nail this and I'm going to give you an extra D4 to whatever damage you do. Sweet. I'm also going to let you roll with advantage on the attack.

If you fail, your attack ends and you lay prone next to the wolf. Okay. What's happening? Chromatics, this could be good or very bad. Gorgeous. Whoa. So I want you to roll an attack with advantage. I'm imagining Masoko's tumbling to the song Maniac. That is a crit! What? The power of love. Get this crit table for real. Yep. Oh my god! Decapitation. Oh shit. Okay. Jason, may I read for the friends at home? Can I read what just happened here? Yes. All right. So DNR is using this custom crit table thing and the crit table automatically triggered and produced result 13, which is decapitation.

Your target's head is decapitated if you're using a slashing weapon, crushed if using a blunt weapon, or pierced if using a piercing weapon, or if weapon was a spell, some effect to the head related to the type of attack which will likely leave the target dead. If this action is not possible due to the nature of the target, you do a standard critical damage and gain an action point instead. Here's what's going on. Wow, this is amazing. So Masuke is going to say the thing about diarrhea, and then he is going to sprint towards this wolf, roll under it, and start to slice as he's rolling into the neck of the wolf and just sort of open it like a can.

And it is going to cut into the wolf enough that the head is going to not be completely cut off but fall off limp so it's just kind of hanging by a stump. And this wolf is going to fall down dead. And Masuke is going to roll out the other side of it. So like right there. Is he covered in blood? Oh, probably. Mattie probably is too, and maybe even Ubo. I'm picturing Kill Bill amounts of blood. I think that's my new favorite kill of all time. From the back, Donovan is like, "Good one, Masuke." Astor is going to swear in Elvin just violently, like, "What the fuck?" So Mattie was just bit by this motherfucker and then Masuke runs up and decapitates him.

And unbits. Jesus. Ubo is just like, "Did you see that? That was amazing! Somebody will write a great song about it!" Listeners, get on it. Fuck, Dire Wolf 2. Dire Wolf 2 rethinks his life choices. Dire Wolf 2 is going to run right up here and attack Anvin. And let's do a little bite. Oh no. Well, he rolled a crit 1. Does his head fall off? These walls are made of paper. So the swamp is going to run up and not only miss, but kind of wreck its ankle a bit and just twist it. And it is going to yipe in pain. And its movement speed is going to be reduced by one half for five rounds.

In total. Good lord, these poor wolves. Aster, pick on a wolf. These guys are not fighting back. Yeah, um, man, geez. OK, well, after that display, Aster's going to assume the one nears to Masoke's handled. So, um, hmm. Yeah, OK. They're going to go ahead and use their rapier then, because it's the exact same attack as my bone. I don't want to waste an arrow. Makes sense. So just do that. And that'll hit. So they kind of like whip out their rapier from their side, just like as right after the wolf trips, they just kind of slash at it from the side. And, oh, nice. 10 damage.

Aster ropes it out. Yeah, that's exactly what I wanted. 10 damage. Beautiful. Anything else? Uh, I think that's it. There's not really much more I can do. Boy, howdy. OK, you know what? Dire Wolf number three is going to target Matty. And attack. 12 damage to Matty. So that's getting serious. Amven, you're up. What I'm going to do is I just saw this like a light flash my eyes and then realized he missed. Oh, he didn't get me. OK. And then within range here, I'm going to take my hand out. And as I reach out to him, it's got lightning around it. And I try to use shocking grasp on him because I'm actually next to him.

Every time I use a spell in range, I'm like, oh, can't do that. That'll hit. Nice. And we'll do 1d8. That'll kill the wolf. High five. All right. Anything else? Uh, let's see. Nope. That's all I can do. Michael, can you describe to us the how you fried this wolf? Yeah. I want to hear this one. How I what? How I took care of him? Yes. How you electrocuted him. Reaching up my hand, sparking in with lightning as I push down on his head. Oh. He turned out to be much more, I don't know, less resistant than I thought. And lightning arcs through his body as he falls down, smoking lightning arcs coming off his body.

Oh, Eduardo. Unlimited power. Ubo, you're up. It's back to me. OK, I'm in position, so I'm just going to flameblade again and hope this time that it works. All right. That's my target. That's my die. That's worse. Wow. I am just like I see Ubo in my head. He's just like lashing back and forth with this fire and this dog is just like prance, prance, prance, like dodging all of these things. It's very frustrating for Ubo, but funny for the kids at home. We're playing. Donovan. Donovan from the back is going to look around at like the like all the mess kids around the camp and just like seemingly all of you got this.

So he's going to just shout, Ubo, try again. Don't don't miss this time. And he's going to use commander's strike. So I'm going to roll this d8 here. d8 please. And you're you can add six to your next attack roll that you can do as a reaction. Oh, nice. I love it. Who is like, I am trying. Donovan is going to sit back down in the like toilet fire. Oh, my God. You're adding a six to that, right? Yeah, that's going to hit. Yeah. What is what is the attack or the damage? Oh, it's got to be the attack, right? I think superiority die to the attacks damage. He's going to stand back up.

So that's the end of the round. Guess what's going to happen? I'm going to roll a I'm going to roll a flat d20 saving throw. On a save, no more wolves are added to the field on a not save. We're going to see something here. OK, can we get something for the fact that we just like massacre? Yes. I feel like that would be a whole thing. You get you get some dead wolves. So I'm going to roll this d4 minus one. And that's how many wolves are going to be added to help their compadres here. Three. All right. Cool. These are the rest of the wolves that are in the area.

The same. This keeps on happening. No, I'm not a dick. They're babies. They're clearly unskilled labor. They are just they're there to fill in there. Then covers three is the only good wolf. Direwolf number five is going to run right up to Misoka. Try and get some vengeance with a bite, which I think. Yes. Did it roll the table? Yeah, it did roll the table and that's going to miss. Thank you. Direwolf number six is going to run up and also attack Misoka. That one's going to hit. Oh, wow. Five damage. That's nothing. OK, that's a flesh one. Yeah. So Maddie's been hit.

Maddie's been hit a couple of times now and is probably bleeding pretty profusely. What would Maddie like to do? Yeah, there's she's covered in blood from the decapitation. She has two bite wounds on her. But she's going to look over to Misoka and see the two wolves on him and cast a bonus action, which is Shield of Faith. He gets plus two AC because remember, guys, she doesn't heal herself. That's bullshit. And then she she knows she has to deal with this other wolf first before she could help out her bud. So going to target direwolf three and try to bludgeon it to death.

That'll hit. Finally. OK, and then do some damage. Five damage to the wolf. And that's what I do. OK, Misoka, your turn. Just kill it again. Yeah, we killed both of them with decapitations. So you're going to wipe blood out of his eyes with his sleeve and kind of look at where the wolf bite him, bit him. Just be like, hey. And then he's going to come down on this wolf with just his one dagger. Come down on his head. That was direwolf six. OK. And you are shiny right now. You're a shimmering field is around you. Oh, that'll hit. Beautiful. And attack here. Sorry, damage.

Oh, eight. So your your blade is just going to come down and right between its shoulder blades just sink into this wolf and it is going to yelp out as eight damage is done to it. I don't want to go too far back, though, because I don't want to abandon Maddie and Ubo. I'll come back. Oh, he'll probably go here just because the kind of guy he is. Get right behind me. No, no, no. He's there when the other two come up. Right. Yeah, OK. That's that's OK. That's it. Astor, your turn. Astor is going to go after the one that was just hit. It's already wounded. Number six.

Yeah, Astor can quickly sort of sheathe her rapier again and then whip out bow and arrow and... That'll hit. Yeah, that'll hit. Seven damage. OK, and that's it. OK, direwolf number three is going to continue to target Maddie and it is going to it's going to hunch down and then lunge at Maddie's face. And let's see. That's got this! She holds the line. Evan, your turn. Seeing these new wolves come out, he focuses his gaze on direwolf six and then his hands start turning. You notice there's like an ice forming around him and his hands. And then he lets out a bolt of ice towards direwolf six.

If I hit, this is the cool part about this ability and I love it so much. You create a shard of ice, flinging it at one creature within range, make a range spell attack on hit, takes 2d10 piercing hit or miss. The shard then explodes the target and the target and each creature within five feet of the ice takes 2d6 cold. But they must succeed at dexterity saving throw. So it's OK. It did succeed the dexterity. But it still gets hit with the knife because the attack. But it dodges the explosion. Yeah, the one. Yeah. Does the other wolf need to roll to save against it?

The explosion? Because it said other creatures within five. So both of them have to. Looks like. So five, six and five. Yeah, six and five. So it looks like six saved. Yeah, six did. But five did not. So that's why it's damaged. OK. Oh, oh. Also, you selected both. Nice. That's awesome. It was within range. Oh, OK. Gotcha. I love this attack. OK, go ahead and roll damage. All righty. Here's the 2d10 that goes on this guy. Bam. That is going to kill wolf number six. Nice. So just this icy blade. I picture it going right through its mouth into its body. And it's just going to drop over.

Just kind of a almost a partial yelp. Just kind of a and just down. And I think that's it. Ubo. OK, fourth time's a charm. You got this, man. You're due. I'm I'm too. That's. Oh, my gosh. You could heal me. Yeah, really. Kind of action point deal to make this no, no, no. Wrong, wrong addition. Wrong. OK. Holy fires. Get those now. I'll heal you with my with my bonus action. I will use healing word on Matty, which is verbal. So it doesn't provoke. So I'm going to click that and click that. OK, good word. I don't I don't know what my healing word is. I'm just going to do it when you keep moving.

All right. You gain five hit points. Oh, the word is I don't even know anymore. Yeah, it's a grunt. Yeah, I'm too distracted by my ineffective combat to give you a positive word. Is anyone else just yet? Is anyone else just just brimming with anticipation for after combat? I can't wait for the role. Donovan. All right. He's going to start sprinting, use a dash action to reach those two walls. And he's going to say to Ubo, don't worry, man, happens to the best of us. Ubo just scowls. So, yeah, I guess there's a way to get there with dash action, without provoking.

And I'm going to use my action surge to have another action, which I'll use to attack Wolf number three with my normal attack. And if I hit there to do I hit, I'm going to use a goading attack. I'm going to make sure that the back end of the pig gets like stuck in him to like like trick him my way, like pulling a little forward to get his attention. And I'm going to add a superiority die. So another D8 to my damage. Yeah, to my damage. I'm going to add five to my damage. So let's roll for damage. One, two, three, four, five. And damage. Fourteen. That'll kill the wolf.

All right. Well, I got his attention. You sure do. All right, I'll turn around to the other wolf. Okay. Wow. Four. Dire Wolf number four is going to join his buddy right here and target Donovan, because Donovan looks to be the largest threat. Thank you. I'm flattered. And he's going to get advantage on this role because of pack tactics. Anytime, essentially, the wolves are standing next to each other or within five feet, they get advantage. And attack. Well, let me keep using those fighter abilities. I'm going to use Riposte. Let me describe it. Riposte. When a creature misses you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction and expend one superiority die to make a melee attack against the creature.

If you hit, you add the superiority die to the attack's damage roll. So let me just attack this guy. That was just damage. Oops. Let's look at that. Let's look at that. Okay. I thought I had him selected. Sorry. So that's 19 plus 625. So I guess it hits. That'll hit. So we'll just take that damage. I'll select him now. So I'm going to roll my superiority die. It's going to be a three. Okay. So either you want to take the damage from before. Yeah. Let's just take the damage from before. That's 11. Plus three. That's 14. Boop. Done. Oh, man. That's going to end his turn and bring up Darwif number five.

Who's going to target? Donovan. And advantage. That'll hit. That's fine. Eight damage. Eight whole damage. Maddie. Okay. Oh, hey there. Um, yeah, I'm going to run up on this thing. Bleeding and all. I'm going to help out my buddy, Jonathan. Whip out my mace and target and attempt to hit it. You got this sister. Trying. Nope. I do not. That was a nine. So she's, I, I'm going to say she gets like blood in her eyes and like swings wide. It might not even be her own. It might be the wolf that she was drenched in. It could be anybody's blood at this point. Yeah. Uh, Masoka.

Hey. Okay. Okay. Go for die roll five here since he's closest. And, um, hmm. I think I'll run up and, uh, sort of do an uppercut with his dagger. Try and get him like underneath his mouth. See what happens. That'll hit. Sweet. Five damage. Can I use my bonus off hand? Yeah. Okay. I think I'll do that while I'm here. Um, so how does the damage work? Cause it still says one D four plus four. I'll just roll a D four. Just roll a D four. Okay. So attack. And that's a crit miss. That sucks. Okay. Well, the good news is that it rolled a one on the, on the, the D six. So we don't roll on the fumble table for that.

Crit miss too. That's great. Yeah. Okay. Whew. That's the best possible outcome where he just like, that's a, well, I slipped in mud and just like completely like, it's like, okay, but I'm okay. Everything's okay. Like frantically trying to like reaching for his neck. Uh, Aster, your turn. Uh, so it's gonna mean you guys have any preferences on, on which wolf I try to hit with an arrow. I bought the one next to Maddie. So she doesn't go down. Gotcha. That's just, no totally makes sense. So yeah, just gonna do that and miss. Okay. Um, I'm going to use my action surge, which means I can take an additional action as a fighter and try to do it again.

That's gonna hit. Nice. That'll kill the wolf. Arrow to its skull dead. Yeah. Thanks, Aster. Problem, bro. I got you. Evan! Nicely done, Aster. Let's see if we can clean this up. Pulls out his trusty twig. Now in the middle of combat? It's all the blood. It really gets to him. Oh, wrong twig. No, just kidding. Point it at dire wolf number five and see if lightning goes wide or not. That'll hit. Very nice. Oh, and so lightning goes off, hits him, but he doesn't die. So he was struck by a light ray of lightning. Just grazed him. He was grounded. That's static. It just got him in the ear.

Ubo, here's your chance. This one's for all the marbles. This is redemption time for Ubo. This is attack number five. No, this is what, six? Is it five? This can't be six. I got that one extra one, though. Remember? I think it's five. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, those were on round... Three, and you had the first attack. Then a bonus attack. I said, yeah, this is five. You got this. You can do it. All right. Don't back up. I like that reference. Good, good. So filled with confidence right now. Let's see. Got it. All right. Flame blade goes... Oh, man. Nowhere. I did not eat my Wheaties this morning, friends.

Is your flame blade on? It's... I'll have to unplug it and plug it back in. There's a pilot light. Wait ten seconds. I don't think this is your spell. This may not be the day. Do you know what it is? No. No. There's a thing, I think the table's haunted by a previous flame blade, and we can't... Oh my god. I knew, like, I was just thinking, like, that's what all the comments are gonna get. I'm not gonna say it, because I have self-control. I know. If you get out ahead of this thing PR-wise, we'll be okay, but come on, five in a row? There's some cold dice. Is anyone else cold in here?

I'm having a great time. Thanks. Donovan! Hey, Ubo. One more time. I'm gonna use my last superior die to trade my attack action for commander strike. So, before I roll my die for you, just see if you hit. Alright. You got this. It's very charitable. This is exceptionally charitable. Based on the evidence, you're making a poor investment, but I appreciate your function. This one's gonna crit. I can feel it. Believe in the cards. Yeah. Oh, jeez. It was a marginally better roll than all these other types. It was. Touch. You got double digits. Yeah. Practice makes perfect, right?

Yeah. Oh my gosh. Alright, so that ends my turn. Alright. Dire wolf number five is gonna smell blood. I knew it. And attack Mattie. That'll hit. 14 damage. Whoa. I drop. I hit 11. That'll be enough to drop Mattie. Exactly enough. Death save, though, is 18. Yeah, I'm good. I'm still alive, guys. Yeah. Masoka. What would Masoka's reaction to this be? 'Cause I imagine the wolf just reaches out and just grabs at Mattie's side and just shakes until Mattie goes down. Ragdoll. Masoka would absolutely see red and just scream, "No!" And he's just gonna pounce on him, slam his dagger down, and bite him at the same time.

What? Oh, no. That will hit. Yeah. He did that to me once. That will kill the wolf! Yeah. Practice makes perfect. You know what that is? The wolf was so shaken by the multiple Flame Blade attempts that it was just... It was so shaken, it's like, "I don't know where to go," 'cause it's dodging, it's ducking, it's weaving, and then... He died of stress. Yeah, I wore it out. I tuckered it out. That's what happened. And that will take you guys out of combat. Yeah, I guess we all... Everyone surrounds Mattie. I think she'll be fine. And Astor's gonna stare at Ubo, waiting for Mattie to get up and down.

I think she'll be fine. And I'm doing it, there were a lot of people talking right there, hold on. I know, I know, I'm just saying that they're just like, "It's the Flame Blade away." He's trying to say he's the Flame Blade away. Alright. And there you go. Nice. It was a good one, it was a max roll. It's good. Yeah. Thank you for that thing. It was so good. It was so good, probably one of the best games I've ever played. Masoka probably would have been pacing back and forth with his hands on his head going, "Somebody do something!" I like pushing back the other room, "Sir, you can't be here right now." Ubo kind of just steps up to Mattie's body laying on the ground and he kind of kneels down next to her.

And in a almost... Probably more gentle than you're used to hearing Ubo talk. He says, "Come now. Eyes open. You're tougher than this." And then her eyes pop open. Probably pretty sore I'd imagine, but definitely alive. And a lot of people standing over her. Yeah. She'll open her eyes, see everybody standing over her, and then she'll... I'm guessing the words registered with her, what Ubo said, and she'll sit up and nod at him. And then put her hand up to be pulled up. Because she's laying on the ground. Aster will kind of gently help her to stand. Kind of supporting her on her shoulder as well.

Because she's still pretty hurt. Yeah. Or... That was rough, huh? Yeah. I... I... I'm feeling it a bit. And then she'll start to get a little self-conscious because everyone's right there. And she'll look around and be like, "Wow, Misoka, you cut that thing's head off. That was... That was impressive to try to... just anything to get attention off of her." And then has concerned eyes and looks over to you. "Are you okay?" "Yeah, I'll bandage myself up." When Maddy brings back up what Misoka did, Ubo goes, "Ah, right!" And he walks over to Misoka and he's just like laughing his head off.

"Ah, Misoka, it was a good joke. You acted like you were weak and awful at fighting. But then you opened up that wolf. I was fooled." Maddy will put a hand over her mouth. Because she's not laughing, for real, guys. I think Misoka would have a big stupid smile on his face. Like, looking at Maddy because she actually woke up. He's probably crying too. And then he'll just look at Ubo and try to give him a big hug. Ubo catches his shoulders and then gives him just a firm handshake. And then he drags him over to the wolf corpse that he decapitated. And he says, "Now you are wolfbane." And he dips his thumb in the blood and gives Misoka two angry blood eyebrows up the side of his forehead.

That goes well with the blood he has on the side of his mouth. And the tears streaming down his forehead. While that's happening, Maddy's gonna make a gesture to Anvin to walk her over somewhere. And she's gonna ask him, "Hey, can you get all this blood off? I wanna see how serious these wounds are." I would love to. In like a wave of the hand, it's all cleaned up. Okay, and then she's gonna bandage herself up. So I guess that's the short rest dice, right? Nice. That is a nine. That's pretty good. Now that she can see the wound, she's like, "Okay, they're not so bad." And starts applying paste she has and putting clean bandages over them.

She's looking much better. Yeah. Meanwhile, Ubo is still going on with Misoka over the wolf corpse like, "Do you want this head? I know tanners. You could make a bitchin' hat." (laughter) "Uh, it's kinda big for my head. Um, do you want it?" Now Ubo just looks at Misoka like, "You would give me your kill." "Yeah, sure. We're friends now, right?" "There will not be hugging, understood?" "Yeah, yeah, I know. Sorry." Ubo offers him another handshake. He'll shake his hand. Alright, then Ubo gets down to business cutting the rest of the wolf head free and just grabbing it by the scruff of the neck and slinging it over his shoulder.

That... Okay, I'm just imagining us walking into the elf camp. It's like, "This is our totally chill orcish friend with a severed wolf head tangling on his face." It was a defense kill. Ubo's like... No, it's like Ubo just got all the materials for his craft project. There's things he can do with the teeth, there's things he can do with the bones, the skin's gonna be a hat. He's just gleeful that he's got so much to work with here. Do orcs have those little pre-made craft kits for their kids, except it's all blood and bones and stuff? We make orcs crapbooking now, yes?

You have your salvage kit ready? Donovan would go quickly to Maddie and clap her on the back of her armor. Just say, "Yeah, I'm sorry. That was kind of my bad. I started playing with them a bit at the end. That won't happen again. Sorry, sis." No. Don't worry about it. You brought how many of them down? Two? Three? Probably not that much. You were there when it counted, so don't worry about it. This is not the first time this happens, though, right? I mean, you have the power to heal, right? You could take care of yourself a little bit more. You know, you deserve it.

These gifts weren't given to me to use on myself. They were meant to help others. Ubo shouts from a distance, "It is hard to help when you are dead." Then that's the path I need to take. I feel like Amphin would have a recall moment of, like, even food charity. You would accept more food. You ended up giving it away. Yes. And she was an orphan, so imagine that. Twitch Amphin's like, "This is more than just healing." Never had her ever, ever do something for herself when it could be given to someone else. It's kind of what makes Maddie, Maddie. I smile and I look at her.

Yeah, Donovan will smirk at that new information. Enough about me. Don't we have to get to the camp? And she'll like, just walk in a direction. Okay, wait, wait, wait. How far away are we from the camp? About a third of a day's walk. Okay, well, Maddie's doing good. I pictured it more like the sun was setting, you guys were getting ready to settle in for the evening. Okay, so if we were already getting ready to settle in, then she'll start getting ready. Yeah. Maybe we should take a break. And hey, we already have dinner, so... That's fair. Hey, Masoka, could you do me a big ol' favor?

Could you roll a constitution saving throw? Eee? Oh my god. You bit that wolf. Are you gonna burst right in? That's just on main there. Yeah, right there on the side on the right where it says "saves." Saves, okay. Okay, thank you. So you guys are settling in for the evening. I probably just have one or two things to say to Aser before going to bed. As I install my bedroll not too far from the stairs. Oh no. Not too far, respectfully far enough. Far enough for conversation. Are we repeating a little dance around on the table? He might be for once or twice and then you stop moving.

No, god. I meant to ask you, how's the settlement in the Evergreen? Is it like these stories I've been hearing of these druid, hippie encampments where everyone's just walking around naked all the time, just having fun by the waterfalls? Aser's just gonna stare at him for a minute and kind of like, they're not really sure how to respond to that? Where did you hear those stories? Along my travels. Probably in Brightbore. Yeah, definitely in Brightbore. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That all tracks. No. Shame. So, maybe you can show me around then. Just show me a settlement.

I'm really interested in it. I'm not gonna lie. If you have any pointers, if you have any recommendations, I'm all ears. And maybe we could spend some time together, get to know each other more. Sorry, I'm cracking up. So, why the interest in the Evergreen? I mean, don't get me wrong, it's pretty incredible, especially compared to Brightbore, but why particularly? I'm really interested in elven culture. That's something that, well, you know Brightbore, here is as far removed as can be from over there and there's something that just intrigues me and fascinates me about elves.

Just like you guys. I mean, we're still people. It's, I mean, it's definitely almost like an entirely different world from Brightbore, but if you're going off of those stories you heard, I'm not quite sure this is gonna be what you're looking for. Alright, well then maybe you can act as my chaperone and then I won't be embarrassing to your friend. To your friends. I mean, I'm walking in there with a half-orc at my back. It probably is not gonna get any worse than that. Alright then. Looking forward to meeting your family and friends. Yeah, it's good to be coming back.

I'm looking forward to sharing all of you guys around. It'll be nice. Great. Well, have a good night. You too. And I turn off the light. By that he means he falls asleep. Yes. Turn the light off of the world. From my point of view, what's Maddie's disposition? You look busy. Well, if this is when everybody's bedding down, I guess she's just like laying at her bedroll somewhere, getting ready, taking off her scale mail. Maybe here or there she'll like wince as she moves a certain way. Like, ugh. Because she's still a little damaged. But she's just generally getting ready, I guess.

Okay. Anvin will come up and... So, feeling alright? A little sore, but nothing a good night's sleep won't take care of. Definitely. And then looking over at you, you'll say, how long has it been since you've been home? Please hold. Six months? Six months. Maybe seven. About six, seven months? How was it there? It's doing good. The temple's really, really shaped up and now that we're, now that there aren't the vampire attacks, it's doing real well. Do you think we would have talked about this? The vampire stuff? Because I think this is the first time we're actually talking about it, so...

Yeah, probably. It was probably like the first thing we talked about, like, oh yeah! Aubrey! Yes, I remember when. It's good that everything's... come on back. At least getting better. Haven't been home in a long time. Yeah, it's been what? Eight years? Yeah, just about. You should, you should really... if we get this chance, we should stop by there for sure. Everyone really misses you. Oh, really? Any love, as it sounds. Well, at least Clarissa misses you. Now that I can believe. How has she been? I haven't seen her in, you know, I think I saw her briefly in Winterhaven, but...

Yeah, she's, she's doing really well. She might actually take over because, you know, Angus is getting up there, so she's, I guess you could say she's moving on up. Wow. I was thinking of her just in the little space in the library, but I guess we're all kind of moving on. Yeah. Yeah. I haven't been to the library in, oh god, over a year. Yeah. It's been a little while. That's why I gravitated to that gate, all those documents. Yeah, I haven't done any research in a while, not since the war, but I hope we can go back. There's so much unanswered about that gate.

We have to go back when the time is right, but we have to. At least I have to. Yeah, it seems like you want to understand what magic is and that's, that's one of the most powerful magic items I've seen ever. Yeah, I've never felt that much power in anyone or anything, so there's got to be some secrets that can be unlocked. Yeah. Well, after we get to Winterhaven, we'll see what everyone wants to do and maybe we could head back. I would enjoy that. Anyway, I didn't mean to bother you. I just wanted to check in a little bit on about home. Got a lot on my mind lately.

What? Anything in particular? Just the same old area. And then with that, he'll kind of turn to leave unless you stop him. Well, as you're walking away, she'll just say it's been good to be around you again, Anvin. Have a good night. You too. Good night. Goes to his bedroll. So let's advance time a bit. Let's get to the next morning and get you guys on the road. It is the 15th of Yesti. You're going to get to walking and you're going to be hiking through this forest for many hours. Now, after a while, you're going to get this feeling that you're being watched.

Who would like to do me a favor and give me a perception roll? Oh, I'll go. I'd say Astor with advantage. Ooh. I don't mind. I'll take that. Oh, gorgeous. Gorgeous, gorgeous. After a while, Astor is going to spot a few elves. We're talking way up. Some real eagle-eyed perches here in these trees. Kind of scattered around the way the trees are set up, you can... they have a gorgeous vantage shot. If they wanted to take a shot at you, they'd have a prime target on their hands. And they're going to see you make eye contact with them and just kind of give you a slow, like a head nod, like, you're fine.

Keep going. They'll give a nod back. Just kind of... At this point, things are going to start to open up a bit, and you're going to see a lot more elves on the outskirts here. There's going to be, essentially, the elven equivalent to gate guards, that type of thing. Although there's no gate here. The tree line just feels like it's kind of funneling you in directions. But there's definitely a path that leads through the beginnings of this camp. And the elves are going to really be kind of stink-eyeing Ubo out of this group. And they're going to hold up their hands here.

Holds. And they're going to sort of motion to Astor. And what's the meaning of this? Oh, man, I'm just trying to think how to explain this. Well, is that an elven? I would say so, yeah. OK, I understood still. OK, so Astor's going to point to Amven and say, "This is Amven. He's a diplomatic envoy from Winterhaven. And don't worry about the orca, that one." And they'll point to Mattie, who has him on a pretty tight leash. This is an elven? Oh, yeah. This is completely an elven. Mattie will, like, not scowl, but like, "What? What are you doing, look?" They'll kind of like grin a bit, like, because they know that they're talking to Delphin and he can't understand.

So there's a bit of cheeky there. Yeah, so we just came from the orc camp and treaty stuff. Yeah, it's complicated. We probably need to speak with someone about it. They'll kind of wave to Amven, like, "Details!" I have a very...an elven and then a very important message that needs to be given, and it is about the orc encampment. It's imperative we get to meet. And he's going to speak in common this time. We've made no further attacks on the orcs, if that's what this is about. It's something more than just the attacks. It's also about a mission that was given to Winterhaven to help find ways to prevent further attacks.

But let's talk in...we need to talk in more private areas. They're going to whisper back and forth for just a moment. We will arrange for you to speak with someone, please. And he's going to motion for you to come in. Bow my head and follow. And again, they're going to kind of give Ubo the stink eyes just a little bit. Not outwardly aggressive or anything, just kind of... I mean, Ubo kind of just gives it right back. He's not just going to sit there and not respond, but he's going to keep his arms to himself. This place is pretty standard right now as you're walking through.

You've got buildings, you have a lot of things integrated with the treeline itself, right? There's tons of watchtowers and posts and firing posts from the trees themselves. For you to walk in here, that looks like a death sentence. Unless you had something pretty damn big backing you up. Now the further you march into this place, the more beautiful it gets. Once you get past the outer layers of all these defenses and all this, there's some beautiful architecture. You don't really get a lot of credit for that type of thing. Normally that's a dwarven thing.

And while dwarven architecture is beautiful, it's gorgeous, it's a bit more angular. It could be a little more rectangular or square, that type of thing. It's built for stardiness and function. And elven architecture has a bit more rounded edges. It's meant to blend in and look kind of pretty. It's not necessarily built to withstand attack or anything like that. And the more you go in here, the more you're going to see that they have some gorgeous buildings and artwork and all kinds of different stuff. Donovan is hiding his boner. His art boner. And then there's Kalkas, which is this massive tree.

I don't know if I could explain to you how large this tree is, but there are just thousands of elves hovering around it and in it, on it, all over it. And there's this massive Keebler elf-esque tree. And eventually you are going to be pulled aside. One of the elven guards here. Someone is expecting you. You could follow me if you like. Lead on. As Emon walks up and pretty much pulls the party. So there's this beautiful shaded spot and there are benches to sit down and do me a favor. Let's see, who hasn't had a chance to... Donovan. Yes. Do me a favor, just give me a perception roll.

All right. Perception. Here we go. It begins. Well, that's a one. But I would say it's maybe just overwhelmed with how much stuff is going on here. You just don't see this kind of stuff in a lot of towns and cities. It's a completely different feel. It's a vibe of civilization and nature just sort of joining and becoming one. And it's so damn beautiful. But this area is going to be pretty damn private. And there's going to be a gentleman standing there with robes kind of buttoned up all the way up his neck. And he's going to be standing there holding his hands.

Hello? And he's going to give a deep bow. I'm told you bring word of the treaty. We do. This goes on about the orc encampment in Matters with Winterhaven. Amven, do me a favor and give me a perception roll. Will do. Oh, yeah. So this individual's eyes are going to squint just the tiniest bit like, "Oh, damn it. Okay, fine. Let's do being professional." Obviously, this is... Amven knows this person. And this person knows Amven. And they're just trying to maintain composure and it's like, "Okay, well, we're just going to do our job. It doesn't matter who this is." That type of look kind of comes across their face for just a second.

He's going to stop. Amven. Enra. Well, let me show you all to a seat. I'm being a terrible host right now. And he is going to motion to these benches. Laster's going to kind of like glance back and forth between Amven and the elf. And also, so do they recognize this elf? Is he important or anything? This person probably doesn't get seen a lot around the place, but pretty important in that pretty much the right hand of Brittana, just kind of facilitator, translator, that type of thing. Gotcha. So respectful. Anyone who's near to me will know that my teeth are kind of clenched?

I'll go get the Highmaiden. Please make yourselves comfy. Thank you. His eyes are going to look over the party and then kind of stop with Ubo and just like, "Mm-hmm. Well, and then go back to what he was doing." Again, you'd probably barely notice that he gave Ubo a second glance. He's trying to be very stoic, very proper, that type of thing. Yup. Ubo just leans over to Maddie and goes, "They don't like me here, so they won't talk to me. Is it okay if I just work on the wolf head in the corner or would that be no good?" Maddie's going to look around and be like, "I don't believe this is the place for that.

Although, if they keep treating you with disrespect, I won't be angry if you start working on it." Ubo just nods at her and goes, "Okay. I will keep the bag closed for now, but I expect to be bored." With that conversation, Eben just smiles. Come on. Asher's just going to take a big, deep breath and let it out and relax. Ever since they've been relaxing a lot more, they got further into the Evergreet and further away from the orc encampment, but they're just completely at ease now after the important elf man left, especially. He just kind of has a big smile on their face.

It's really good to be back. Donovan's going to follow the elven guy's advice and make himself comfortable. Start removing his armor, just adjusting his shirt. Open up the top two buttons and get comfy, real comfy. Look around. Who's around? How's the room? Is there a refreshment stable with grapes? And Eben turns and looks at Donovan. All those famous deep forest vineyards. Oh, they're important. Oh, yeah, you got to get them from outside. I love the fact that the half-orc druid in this party has half a chance of being like the middle of the field on diplomacy.

I would say there's drinks. There's probably some sort of wine, something like that in a picture in front of you. Something probably nice, cool water, too. No food that you could see yet, but yeah. All right. Well, don't mind if I do. Oh, I was going to say, and if we're alone for like a little bit, like more than a minute, at some point she's going to, or Maddy's going to go up to Anven and say, "Hey, you okay?" Yeah, it's always interesting when I come here, when he's here. And who is he? Well, I trust you guys. That is my father. I'm guessing you don't have the best relationship with him.

It is a relationship. Well, I know family's difficult. Well, yeah, I know family's difficult, so we'll be here for you. I appreciate that. And maybe we can talk about it more later. Of course. I'm pretty sure there's eyes and ears on us right now. Always. Did everybody hear that? Or was that private? I'd say when he looked around and said, "I trust you guys." He's looking at Maddy and then basically this group, because we've kind of been around together. You might as well know what you're getting. He reasoned it out. You might as well know some of the context that he's coming from.

Okay. I think after Sokka hears that, you can lean over to Donovan. Hey, Donnie. Do you think maybe my mom or my dad might be here? They might. You've never had anything to go on. All the chances are on your side, I guess, at this point. Ask around. I don't even know if I want to know. He grabs you by the shoulder, but just puts his hand on your shoulder. I'm sure you'll eventually run into them if we keep moving enough. Yeah. Yeah. I don't even know which parent is an elf. I assume the other one is a human. What if both parents are half-elf? Well, he kind of says that with a smile.

It's a bad joke. Sokka's sitting there trying to crunch numbers in his head. Doesn't know how. Okay. Maybe I'll ask around. Yeah. You should. Will you come with me? Now? No. Okay. Sure. I don't think you need a wingman. I think you two are close enough at this point. Donnie, I need support. Alright. But I believe your gut, man. At this point, we've been traveling enough together. I know it's your time to shine. Yeah. He puts his finger on your chin and lifts your head up and looks at you deep in the eyes. You got this. Okay. Sokka will just lean back in his chair and sort of just thinking about things.

Lost in thought. And he'll pour a glass for you and hand it to you. Oh, he'll take it. So after some time, Enra is going to come back. And there's going to be an elven woman who is just gorgeous with long silvery hair. And she's wearing these long red robes with sort of white speckled throughout them. And she's going to bow really low to the party and greet everyone. They do. Which in elven, loosely, is greetings. And then bows and gives also the formal greeting that he was taught. Yeah. Astrid will as well. Their face goes pretty serious and they bow super low.

And Donovan will bow and say, "Hey, I'm Donovan." Imagine Astrid's face almost goes white a bit. Like, oh my god. In elven, mind you. In elven. Oh my god. Nailed it. God. So she is going to take a seat with everyone. And Enra is going to stand by her side, but almost looking off into the distance, he's there to facilitate. He's there to perform a function, but it doesn't look like he's necessarily checked into the conversation itself. And Brittana is going to speak up. I hear you have word of the treaty. I do. And she is just going to... it almost feels like she's staring through.

Ambin just like looking... she's kind of got these piercing eyes. So it's not coldness, it's just... she has a very piercing stare. I come on behalf of Winterhaven, sent to find the missing orcs that were presumed dead some time ago. Which led us to the orc encampment. And we actually did end up rescuing them instead of them actually being... Well, they were alive. Although they were taken by the Nuval, but to get to the point, when we returned them to the orcs, we met with their leader. And I put my hand over to Ubo. He helped translate an agreement with them to ensure that they will not be threatening Kalkas or the Evergreen or any of the elven people or anyone else around their area.

And she is going to give a slight nod to Ubo. I'm glad your people had their missing members return to them. In common, I take it? Yes. Ubo will... Ubo's... First, he's just kind of like surprised he's being addressed at all. And even with a reasonable amount of respect. So he nods kind of resolutely. Did this lead to some sort of breakthrough with the orcs? We were able to actually discuss a measure of, say, behavior that is appropriate in that area to allow them to better interact with all of us since we seem to be neighbors. She's going to cross one hand over the other and lean in just a bit toward Emthen.

Might I ask what sort of behavior that might be? They will not be taking down any more of the Evergreen to increase their encampment size. We told them to go in the other direction to halt all hostility and to focus their anger on the Nuval themselves as they have been the ones that have been taking their members into slavery. Might I ask you a question, Anthem? Always. Do you think that they will stick to this agreement in the long term? The one that we agreed with, the orc man, I believe would. If there is about change in power, then I would be concerned.

His second, as I would assume it to be, I don't think would trust the arrangement. Our people have honored the ceasefire when we agreed to this with Winterhaven. We have not fired a single arrow at the orcs since. You must understand that our people have undergone a significant amount of loss in the last few years. It's a difficult thing to withstand without wanting to eventually violently protect your home if necessary. I understand, although with the recent war, I would be hoping that hostility and violence should be an example of what we should try to stay away from.

Make no mistake, we don't wish to strike out against the orcs, but we've seen what devastation the clear cutting can wreak. We simply can't stand by and let that continue. We know the orcs, at least. We know their reputation. They will not stop. Once the camp is set up, we know that there's a drive. We know that they want to expand. And to do that, they're going to need lumber. And she's going to look to Uvo. Am I correct in that assumption? A camp can't expand without materials. However, if you trust the individual that you made this bargain with, then we trust the individual that you made this bargain with.

Have you sent word to Winterhaven? We wanted to start here. Make sure that you were notified. We plan to make our way to Winterhaven next. That's very much appreciated. We thank you for that. Do you know where you're sitting right now? I look around. What do I see? Well, again, it's give me a perception check. Alrighty. Who? Yeah, those are rough. Trees! Again, it's a beautiful clearing here. There's this bench set up. It's a private area. You notice there haven't been a ton of elves in this area. Not a ton of anyone, actually, in the area. She's going to jester around.

This is a place of remembrance. In the past several years we have lost many people. Traditionally, when we lose someone important to us, we hold a ceremony and honor them. If there is a body, they are placed here. Sadly, this place has filled up far too quickly under my tenure as High Maiden. I would wish that to stop. My condolences. I too would rather a peaceful way could be arranged. She's going to motion again around. There's going to be placards set up with names and etchings. What they've done is they've made a unique piece of artwork for each one of these people that have died.

It's a really nice way to honor someone. What I would like to do is stave off any more of those ceremonies. If we can cohabitate peacefully with the orcs, then so be it. And she is going to reach out one of her hands to shake. I accept the hand and shake. And I thank you all for your service in trying to negotiate with them. I understand that it can be a daunting task. There is just one more thing. If the orcs do break this new treaty, we won't be left with any other alternative than to defend our home. You understand that, right? I do. Perhaps there's a way we can benefit each other, whether it's a trade agreement that lets them expand without clear cutting, or another solution.

I'm open to the idea. We are teaching them, well, we have started to have them learn common among all of them. I have no idea how long that kind of effort will take. But it should at least help us get one step closer in being able to communicate whether you are orc or elf or human. I imagine that would go a long way. You're all more than welcome to stay here as long as you like. There is one thing more I would like to at least let you see. And her eyebrows are going to perk up a bit, like, okay. He pulls out some papers from his coat and hands them over to Reed.

They are the Nuval plans for taking Eladrin. May I ask where you got these? From the same place we freed the orcs. She's going to hand these over to Enra really quickly, and he's going to give these a quick scan. You understand we're not in direct contact with the Eladrin. There's very little we can do about this. I definitely plan to let this matter go to Winterhaven. Anyone else should be aware. But the Nuval, being who they are, if they're after Eladrin, they could very well take anyone they see. So I just ask you be. Take precautions when outside the Evergreen.

The warning is very much appreciated. We'll see what we can do about getting word to the Eladrin in Onakol. We've heard some promising things from the area. I appreciate that. Is there anything else? That will be all. And did they hand the papers back to me? Enra would reluctantly give them back. When he says that will be all, he extends his hand to take back the papers. Enra would, yeah. Enra would give them back. But you could tell it's like, "I kind of wanted to keep these. Fine." That type of thing. With that he folds it back in and waits for dismissal. As she's standing up, she's going to tell you about, you know, just you could stay as long as you like.

It's fine. Feel free to refill rations and water and all that good stuff. Get a good night's sleep. Then head out to Winterhaven if you'd like. And then she's going to finish up. By the way, if you happen to find yourself exploring... Please be careful. Things are labeled in the forest for a reason. We're currently launching an investigation into the area that you were in and we would hate if something were to have happened there that would slow our research down. And she's going to raise her eyebrows like, "Yeah?" I've been seeing the diplomatic challenge and research challenge mixed in one.

Smirks. I appreciate the warning. I often like to be able to maybe find out more on how to prevent any possible missteps we could take, if that would be all right with you. She is going to lean in. And she's going to hold out her hand, asking, essentially wordlessly asking for Ambon's hand. Does so. And she's going to place a small spherical object. Looks to be made of like crystal, something like that, but very polished, smooth. Well, if this is clearly just a research venture, which I'm assuming it would be, hypothetically. Hypothetically. One might want to take something like this with them so that they don't trigger any alarms.

I bow my head slightly. I appreciate this. This will definitely ensure no missteps will be made in the future. Thank you. Of course. Then she's going to shift her focus over to Astor. Again, hypothetically, this wouldn't be a problem at all if you had an elf to guide you on your way. She's looking again, pointedly at Astor, but not like, not angrily. So when she first brought it up, Astor is kind of in the back, shuffling their feet a bit and then just kind of like avoiding eye contact and blushing like their faces completely red. Just like, they're just kind of like glanced at her and just nod.

They don't really want to speak. All of you, please have a good night. To you as well. Yeah, Donovan was about to Donovan was about to say to you as well from the back with a like smirk, but then Amven just said it before him. So he just like, like had his index almost pointed up and just like closes his mouth and like thinks better of it. And with that, both she and Anra are going to walk away. Before he completely disappears, Anra is going to give one look back to the party and then to Amven and like this kind of cold nod, sort of like just like, good day, like that type of thing.

Not something you'd give a son, that's for sure. Nods back. And guys, I think that's a pretty good time for us to wrap things up for the evening. Cool, cool, cool. That wasn't so bad, Amven. That went really well. That was super fun. Good job. I felt in my element. Rob, I am so sorry about earlier. Oh, what with the dice? Yeah. That's nobody's fault. That happens. Well, I mean, it's always a bummer though. I stopped thinking about that a long time ago. Don't you even worry about it. Because you took it like a champ. Yeah. It's a plot device. I was more interested in enjoying playing culturally oblivious Hubbo.

It was great. This all just happened on the 15th of USD? Yes. I forgot you're taking notes and stuff. So what it's looking like is next time you're going to get to explore a city, like a big city. Yahoo. Yep. So that's going to be fun. Why don't you get a private talk with Mr. Enra? This is Mike. I thought I was going to get called out for stealing. I just got a ticket back. Don't worry. Well, guys, this was a blast. I hope all of you get some sleep. Get ready for Monday. We're all going to go back to work. That's a terrible way to end this. I'm sorry. What are you doing?

I don't know. I am awful. I am awful. Yeah, enough of this fantasy. Get ready. Get back to work, everybody. Get back to reality. Everybody, thank you guys so much for doing this. This was a hell of a lot of fun. Even the combat. I really forget how much I like 5E combat. It's a blast. We really hope you guys enjoyed today's episode. And if you did, maybe consider swinging by our Patreon at patreon.com/dandr. And tossing in $1. $1 is all we're asking to help support the show, keep our lights on, keep things moving, and help us expand and do new stuff. Now, every single week on Patreon, we try to post at least one or two awesome things.

I think all said and done, we post anywhere between 8 and 12 things on Patreon every single month. Including behind the scenes bits for each and every episode, things that just ended up on the cutting room floor, or the pregame where we get together and chit chat. We do living at theory each month where we tackle a person, place, or thing that you guys suggest. And then we have you ask every question that you could possibly think of and send it our way. And we just run through and answer every single one of them. We now do one shots where we're playing a random system or something like that.

We're getting ready to play Shadow the Demon Lord with Robert Schwab. There's all kinds of cool stuff. We really suggest you check it out if you've ever been on the fence. This last month we did a Halloween themed month. All kinds of spooky stuff. Every bit of content we produced had something spooky about it. Except for the newsletters because it's really tough to make a spooky newsletter. But again, if you've been on the fence, check it out for $1 and we'd be eternally grateful. Thank you guys so much and we'll see you next week with another episode. If you want to chat with us while you're waiting, you can head over to facebook.com/dungeons and randomness all spelled out.

And you can find our official group there. Chat with a bunch of different listeners. On Patreon we have a Discord server. And of course you can always send us an email at danddrapodcast@gmail.com. That's danddrapodcast@gmail.com. Thank you guys so much and we'll see you next week with a brand new episode.
