Hey, I'm Xavier and I play Donovan Weiss, the Human Fighter. And James. Hey, he's James and I play Ezno Masocha, the Half-Elf Rogue. And last, and certainly not least, Rob. My name's Rob. I roll the dice that make the flame blade miss. [laughter] Well, we had a little chat about everything that happened on the last episode. And I'd like to pick things up pretty soon after the conversation you had with Brittana.
So let's say it's evening, you guys are settling in in the morning, it sounded like you were going to take off. Is there anything you guys would like to do this evening? Talk to each other, do something before we kind of advance time here. Yeah, a bit of stuff. I think Donovan would like to have a night out on the town, get a feel for the place and possibly help Masocha on his wingman help he asked for. Oh. Okay, so I got a couple of questions about this wingman scenario. Is this a thing where Masocha is, I don't know, theoretically asking someone to accompany him out on the town?
I wasn't exactly sure what you had in mind. Well, he was, I mean, he asked you to come with him to help him find out if anybody knows his parents. Oh, I thought this was more romantic. Oh, yeah, I thought you wanted me to help you ask her out. That was on me. I was projecting. I feel like that should be the way you continue, like, Even though he specifically said parents. Nobody's going into what Masocha is talking about ever. That's okay. That's the thing. Well, okay. That's what it sounded like it was going. It's like, oh, yeah, do you think they do you think anybody here knows my parents and then Donovan went with it another way and then the conversation kept going in that direction.
So I was like, oh, this is like a wingman thing. Okay, cool. Well, I have to re-listen to the episode because actually I think I may not have heard that conversation the right way. Perfect. Just go with it. Go with what you heard last time. This is totally their relationship, though. It's I mean, It's like they're almost speaking two different languages. So, okay, well, then what would Masocha's game plan be? I don't know. Like, he's, hmm. He doesn't really want, He wants to know who they are so he can basically yell at them, you know, show them how it affected him and that sort of thing.
Right. The tell-them-off moment. Exactly. Right. So he's probably a little apprehensive about the whole thing. But, Well, you know what? I think it's time to launch an investigation. That's what I think. Yeah. So you got Donovan in tow, right? You guys are, let's say you're talking to people, you're kind of around the forest for the evening. So it's like, hey, do you know anything about, and what does Masocha have to go on exactly? What's the case he's building? He has no case. So it's just the, oh, I'm half elf. He's half elf. So he was told he, his name was given to him by the matrons at the orphanage.
All he has is how he looks. So he'd probably be asking people if he reminds them of anybody. Do me a favor. Roll an investigation check with advantage because you got Donovan there. Ooh. Wink. All right. Hmm. How, uh, how do you think Masocha would be speaking to people? Would it be, uh, are you shaking people down for information or is it more like, hey, do you, what do you think? Is it, are you approaching every elf like a daddy? Like, is it like that? No. No, he'd probably go, he'd probably look for somebody who, who looks smart to him. Well, honestly, uh, I think Donovan would probably like start the conversation most of the time.
Cause he's also like looking for friends in the city, like-minded people. So he's chatting, chatting, chatting it up. See, and then like probably like introducing, Hey, his buddy here, Masocha's got something to ask you. I kind of want to do like a general charisma check for the evening. See how, how, how long I got with the people. Let's do it. I'd say there'd be kind of a celebration, kind of a, kind of a sending you off party, nothing crazy extravagant, but there'd be like a get together. Like it's like, Hey, everybody, potluck. Let's have some drinks.
Let's eat some food. It'll be great. Yeah. Yeah. Good. I like those. General hospitality dinner type of thing. Ah, you know, that's pretty damn good. That is quite good. That's a 17. So I'd say, you know, I'd say Donovan's pretty good at schmoozing. Does Masocha want to give that a shot? Just to, just to kind of generally see how, cause the investigation check stands. That's a great investigation check. Wow. Pretty damn charming. For a buffoon. Learn from the best. He just copies whatever Donovan is. So I'd say this is a situation while, while everybody, I'd imagine, well, let me ask one more question.
Is the group at this little soiree or would someone abstain just because they, they were uncomfortable with the crowd? Donovan would have invited Maddie for sure. Well, Maddie first would be like, Oh yeah, I'll catch up in a little bit. But if there's a temple, she wants to go to that first. There'd definitely be a place to, a place to pray. There would, it would be kind of an open structure, not like a, not like a temple you'd see in cities and things like that, but definitely like pillars kind of overgrown with Ivy and like, but it's, it's, it's on purpose.
The whole thing is meant to kind of commune with nature. Definitely, mostly be set up for Melora, but anybody could pray there for any God. It's fine. Okay. And is there like a, someone who maintains it or like a collection thing? There's definitely, I mean, collections not really their bag. There is a place, there's like a little, like a chest where you could leave things there if that's what you'd like to do, like a donations type thing, but they don't actively ask for things from people most of the time. Okay. Well, Maddie sees this pilgrimage as like doing good for her God.
So she wants to like help out where she can and she's at a temple who's like, so she she'll throw in like five gold. Oh, yes. Let me ask you a question. Would it be enough for Maddie to do the good deed or would Maddie have to tell them, it's like, this is from a monitor, that type of thing? No, no, no, no. Okay. Especially if it's not a temple dedicated to a monitor, she wouldn't like, she wouldn't purposely bring out her sigil and like put it in the middle and pray to that. She's respectful. You just need to sign the guest book a monitor. A monitor was here.
It's the religious equivalent of breaking out your laptop at a Starbucks. I'm writing a manuscript. Yes, exactly. I'll change my cold. How do you have five gold? I have a surprising amount. You do. And then he's actually heading to see his father. Interesting. Okay. Have we figured out where we're sleeping tonight yet? We're going into the evening, yeah? I think they said they provided. Yes, they're setting you up. Okay. Yeah. Ubo's not really of, unless someone asks Ubo to be somewhere, he's like, none of this appeals to me. So he's probably staying in. Would he be working on the pelt stuff?
So that's the conflict, right? He's sitting there and he's looking it over and he's like, he can picture what he wants, but he's also not trained in leather work of any kind. So he's torn between, well, maybe I should just try to wing it and maybe I could ask Aster if there's someone who could make the least elfy looking job of this in the elf town. It needs to not look like an elf made it. Right, so don't elf this up is basically what you're saying. Yeah, don't elf this up. And then he's also realizing, oh wait, I don't have the gold to pay a leather worker, so maybe that's also a problem.
That would be the greatest pitch. Don't make it look like you did this. Also, I can't pay. So if you could just half-ass it, it'd be great. Find some like five-year-old that can like poke holes in the leather. Is that what you're going to do? No, I think with that conflict laid out the way it is, Jason, what kind of role would you call for if I were to attempt to try leather working on my own? Oh boy. If it's survival, I am trained in survival if that's what you think it would fall under. I... for now let's do survival. Okay, maybe I am alright at leather working because I have that.
Alright, so I'm just kind of like making a role for my progress for the evening while I stay in. Yeah. Yeah, well it's not an animal handling because it's not an animal anymore so that's right out. Okay, survival. And away we go. Hey, that's 19. So yeah, you're going to be working on this. Oh, I was going to say Ubo's trying to like make a hat out of the better part of like the wolf head and then like also do some kind of thing where he can make like some kind of like glove with the teeth sticking out of it to give back to Masoka as like part of it. Oh, that's sweet.
That's pretty badass. So are you picturing like the head resting on top of Masoka's head and the snoop kind of going down over his nose and that kind of thing? Yeah, yeah. And then like, yeah, just like a spiked kind of wolf skin glove with the teeth as spikes. Wow. Okay. Okay. Yeah, it doesn't sound like you're using the bottom jaw so that would be... yeah, we could do that. Okay. Oh yeah, that's what it lost, didn't it? Yeah. Well, I mean, if you're if it's sitting on top of his head, unless it's a full blown like furry outfit that he's putting on, this would be like hanging over it, like easy removal and stuff.
It'd almost be like a hood kind of thing. I'm just picturing Ubo taking like two weeks off of adventuring then he comes back to Masoka like, I made you this mascot outfit. See if you can jam in this. I thought he earned your respect, man. No, we'll go with the hat and the glove thing. All right. That sounds really awesome. So let's pick things up with the cold case files thing. Let's, let's... Before we jump to Amvin. So what it sounds like is Masoka and Donovan are really schmoozing these elves like it's they are they are being very charming. It's like, oh, hi, how are you this evening?
Well, hey, half elves. What you know about half elves? Like that type of thing is very charming. But in Masoka, Masoka lingo. Somehow. And you're going to be you're going to be chatting up a bunch of elves and you're going to get some information out. And what they're going to say is like, yeah, you look you look half elven. But to me, it's it's more Aladrin than anything. If anything, it's too it's in the eye and they'll break it down. It's like, oh, the eyes here. It's a little it's it's more of an angular curve here and there. And like they're they're really breaking it down to you.
And this this this this this person sounds like they know what they're talking about. Because for the record, Masoka, aside from hair color, is like the spitting image of Dagon. Yeah, they're very confident about this opinion. OK. How about we catch up with Amvin? Oh, one more question. Who's drinking at this event? Me, me, me. How do you think we got so charismatic? Yeah, maybe that's the right mix. I wrote that my role was actually a nine. All right. Never mind. It was funny when I thought of it. Oh, I didn't go back and check. I was like, what did he roll? So Amvin wants to talk to Anra.
Yes. OK, let's let's do this. He wouldn't be a hard person to find. Is he in the office or is he like retired? He'd be if there's a party type of thing, he'd be way on the fringe of it where it's a little quieter, that type of thing. But a place where he could observe things, just just kind of having a drink by himself. OK. I walk up, nod, "Anra." He would nod back, "Amvin." How are things? Things have been well, actually. Can't really complain. And for you. Also well, things are improving. We were really capturing that awkward, awkward, estranged family thing.
It's perfect. It's great. He's just letting it linger, right? Yeah, he's let it linger for a moment. If Amvin doesn't speak, he would speak up. Well, things must be going well. I must admit it was a bit of a shock seeing you with your eclectic group today. They are quite a group indeed. They're quite strong. And I mean, to go in front of an orc encampment. Yes, I would imagine that would take some bravery. Either that or foolishness. Well, a little bit of that, I'm sure. They're also intelligent. And then he'll look away. This is probably how the conversations would go.
He'd be like, "I could say it like this." And so each of them are probably like, "Okay, how can I..." "And if he says this, I'll say this." Yeah. Is there anything you would like me to bring back to Winterhaven on your behalf? There's going to be a look that crosses his face like, "What does that mean? What are you getting at?" But he's not going to respond negatively. Nothing I can think of at the moment. Is there a reason you ask? Just trying to open lines of communication more between Kalkas and Winterhaven. And you can tell that he was going to say us, but instead he said Kalkas.
Oh, no. Well, I can speak to the High Mate. I, of course, wouldn't want to presume. And he's going to look around. Actually, I could go do that right now. I'll check with her and see if there's anything that she would like to send out with the group in the morning. Unless, of course, there's something else you'd like to speak about. You can tell he's like, "No, no, that was all." You can tell he was holding on the back, but decided to not speak up on that one. Good. Well, it was excellent to speak with you again, Anven. I wish you all the luck in your travels.
You as well. I'm just going to hold his drink up for you. OK, you have a great night. Slowly walk away. Yeah, he's going to slowly walk away for the first, I'd say, seven to 10 paces and then book it. Kind of like just break away. Well, that was horrendously awkward. I loved it. Good job. I have to pretend to be that way too. It's, yeah. But that was excellent. He'll go see if he can find either Donovan or anyone else to just settle in with since he's been. That was awkward. He wants to hide in the group. Do you think Anven would have a drink after that? Oh, probably.
Most definitely. Yeah, OK, sweet. What would Maddy do after getting done praying? Would Maddy be joining the party? Yeah, probably like after an hour, like a long time to be praying. That is some praying. Yeah, she had some shit to think about. So she would join after a while. Someone we haven't heard from, and I want to get back to Maddy in just a moment, but we haven't heard from Aster at all. What would Aster be doing this whole time? Well, so, I mean, they want to be out like in like kind of mingling with other elves a bit and just kind of out in around Kalkas and kind of like they know that they're about to leave again, but they want to like they're happy to be back.
And so they want to get part of that. I mean, if they weren't like, like, like, like, he said that Donovan like invited Maddy to go with them. So unless like they like explicitly invited Aster, they probably wouldn't like assume that they were also invited to go along. Well, no, I mean, just like, like, like, like, yeah, like you guys are all doing your own things. They don't want to like barge in. I mean, it's not right. So, yeah, so I was probably out, I guess, I don't know. I can't think of anything like specific off the top of my head. Well, let's say let's say the evening rolls on Maddy.
Maddy's going to join everybody. Yes. Hey, actually, she would have probably asked Aster where they go to pray. So maybe Maddy would then grab Aster afterwards. Oh, yeah, Aster absolutely would have shown her the temple and everything that would have been definitely probably would have like waited around for an hour after. I mean, like, like they, like, they, like, okay, well, if Maddy had, like, what would she have known going in that she was going to be there for an hour? Like, would she have said that? Oh, yeah, she'd be like, I'm gonna be here for a little while.
Where would I be able to find you to find my way back? Gotcha. I'll probably be like, I'll meet you back here in an hour or so. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, that makes sense. So Maddy was probably like deep in thought or deep in her praying when you were like, hey. Yeah. Are you okay? It's been a while. Do you like pee or anything? Yeah, yeah, and then go meet back up with Jonathan and Soka. That works out perfectly. So we got the group together here. Everybody who's drinking this evening, I'd like a con save. Ooh. I don't know what it is with alcohol. I hold my liquor so well.
Yeah, good Lord. Okay, well then. I was just ready for it. Did that not show up on the table? Hi. No, would you roll? Okay. No, that's fine. Oh, no, that was worse. This is bad. What was the original roll? The original roll was like a 10. Let's go with a 10. Okay. I trust you. Thank you. I was like, I saw that. That was not a thing. Oh, I love this. I love this so much. She hasn't even had a drink yet. Wow. Well, guess who's group mom? So for the most part, man. So Donovan's clearly, let's say relaxed. Very, very relaxed. Masocha and Aster are pretty, pretty tipsy. And Amven's just drunk.
Like there's no nice way to say. Like it's just pretty damn drunk. Maddie's the only one who, if you were to guess, it's like, oh yeah. Stone cold sober, pretty much. Just maybe a little more relaxed and jovial, but definitely got all her wits about her. Everybody else in the party is pretty much gone. Not in fighting shape, let's say. How do you see this evening going? Because I imagine there's music. Everyone's having a good time. What kind of drunks are you? I guess sad, happy, happy. Jason. Yes. So can I do some sort of check to see if Masocha would put together the fact that people are saying he looks like an Aladdin.
He's, you know, however old he is, like early 30s, the Aladdin were missing forever. And there was probably rumors of one around Brightport. Can I see if he would put those together? That's a pretty high, that's pretty high, but let's... Yeah, for him probably. Okay. All right, you know what? Give me an intelligence check on this one. Because you're trying to, you're basically puzzling it out, like you're reasoning it out. Okay. Jesus. Good roll. Oh my. So that's a 20. I'd say with that, you'd at the very least have your next lead. You'd go, hold on a second. If they were largely missing, and let's say that it was a pretty big draw when it did happen in Arc 1 that people recognize Dagon as an Aladdin.
I'd imagine that's a story that gets told here and there. It's like, holy shit, you'll never know what I, you'll never guess what I saw last week. So I would imagine with Dagon's reputation in Brightport. I mean, it probably got around eventually, so that's at least a lead. It's something to look into. Okay. I don't know if he'd have a name, but probably a pretty good description. Okay. And then that's assuming that what they said is true and he is half-lod. Exactly. Yeah. That's a lot of hearsay to go on, but yeah. Yeah. All right. That's an interesting question to ask.
Okay. Sorry, but hey, Dagon made a big impact on Aubrey. Kind of killed all the vampires. That's true. That's true. I guess, okay. Has Masoka told the group in the course of the evening? Is this a thing that he would be, he would talk about or is it something that it's a little sensitive to him? Well, you know, if he's drunk. Ah. Yeah. So that's why I was asking. He probably, I don't know if he'd be proud of that or not. That's what I was going to ask. Is it a point of pride? It's like, hey, Aladrin. Or is it Aladrin? Well, that explains. Right. It could go either way.
Because their reputation obviously precedes them. But things to keep in mind. If Madi ever finds out, hey, I know of an Aladrin. Well, regardless, there's probably a point during the evening where Donovan would go sit right between Madi and Masoka. And turn his attention to Madi and just go like, Madi, I meant to tell you I didn't have the chance yet, but fighting with you on the battlefield is such a treat. You're so inspiring. You're so courageous. You look great. That armor. You swing like a goddess. You're beautiful. Like, I'm really happy to be at the same party as you.
And actually, I'm glad I got to know you a little better, too. And then he's just going to keep going a little bit. Wait, I want to know what this looks like from my point of view. Does he sound this eloquent? Or is it like, you, you, you? I'm an experienced drunk. Does he have a beer can box on his head? You know what? I think we should roll for eloquence. All right. Give me a D. Just a D20. Let's see. All right. Because I've known drunks that could really pop. OK, so it's like half and half, right? It's like, it's like machine gun fire. Very eloquent. Then it's like, oh, gun jammed.
Like it's that kind of thing. You know, like that kind of thing every once in a while. He like burped. You are so awesome. Like he would burp in Masoka's direction. I think at this point so far, like every time he says something to Maddy, Masoka's like, yeah, yeah. Sort of like agreeing to himself. Yeah, sure. Yeah. At some point he would probably just like trail off like, like, all right. And he would like smack Masoka on his thigh and just like stand up and just like look back and say, all right, I'll get you later. OK. I thought that was going to go somewhere else.
So you don't give me any time to react? No. You just go on and on. I mean, you probably could react at any point. You would probably keep going. Yeah. So you're like, oh, OK. You're probably realizing that you're drunk. OK. Thanks. You're pretty good yourself. Like just that the entire time you're talking. So you do it. All right. Yeah. And he would do that and probably go talk with some people he talked earlier with. How would Masoka react to that? Being as oblivious as he is, he probably just leans over to Maddy and be like, Yeah, that's how he is. Goes for the quick kill.
Never lets him respond. OK, so I'm having I'm struggling because I'm trying to like Maddy knows they're all very drunk and she's just trying to keep them from hurting themselves. So, again, I don't think like any of this is like registering on like a personal level. It's more like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. OK. Now don't trip. Oh, no, don't have another drink. So she's just like, uh huh. And like keeping an eye on everyone, especially and then. Hey, Maddy. And then she sees like and then like starting to topple and she goes to stand up and he writes himself and she's like, uh huh.
Like, so she's very distracted. He'll just keep talking because he doesn't know. He doesn't realize. Did you know that I might be part Aladrin? Oh, that's great. And then like watching everybody like he's sitting right next to her. So he's the safest right now. This will probably register to her later. I really want and then to go on about talking about like plans for tomorrow, what he's going to be doing, and then like not realize that he's not even standing around everybody like he's. Astor is absolutely going to corner Ampit at some point. He's going to be like, take this path tomorrow.
Right. That's right. Right. He's like, no, everybody else is going to talk to him. They're just going to like kind of like this. I love it. You're just going to like completely like interrupt them like they're not paying any attention to it. So your dad, right? I know, right. He's he's like, they're going to kind of like, like, like, like, like, like, like, move their hand is like kind of like moving it like up like a lake. Yeah. He's up there. So what's to do with that? Why don't you like live here? I mean, it's your dad's like important. And I mean, I guess, well, you're important in Winterhaven, right?
Now, yes. Yeah. So, man, that's weird. What's weird? Like, like, like, they're going to look confused for a second. Like, wait, what is weird? Like, you're you and I know you and your dad's like important. I don't know. It's connections and stuff. Weird. Yeah, that. And he's going wherever he was standing, he's going to like point like to him and then back where he was and where he was and then to him. He's like, yeah, that was weird. It's all weird. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do you have any weird family thing? Oh, I mean, that's a good question. Oh, that's funny. I mean, I have a sister's kind of like probably evil.
I don't know. I guess that's kind of weird. I mean, she was always but like, family's important. Yeah. Kind of wish it wasn't sometimes it's also kind of sucks. But yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Do they start to look sad? He drank to forgotten it like, oh, it's coming back. Yeah. Maybe I should go drink some more. No. That's called a spiral. Maddie would see you going to the drink table and just like grab you and be like, hey, tell me about that book you're writing. You're writing a book, dude. I did. Now I'm writing another one. Right. I mean, it's like nerd nerd stuff, right?
You're kind of like in all the papers and stuff. What was it? Well, like, you're strong. And yeah, I am. When you and is that like that same like, hmm. And you feel strong when things are important that get hurt. That doesn't make sense. All the time because I got muscles. I don't know. Well, like, say, say, say, he like looks over at Maddie. Say she was in trouble. She's strong, too. She she also has muscles. She got hurt through a weakness spell and you need to help her. You go help her and you'll more generally you feel stronger. And if you have magic, generally that's when that has more potency.
There's a there's a connection between inside and what you actually do. I have to show you my book later. It sounds so much better. Is it a big book? It's like the like thickness, like, you know, when you look at like a cyclic pedia Britannica, you know, small book. I'll be modest. This this whole time, Maddie had her arms like around their shoulders and it was like ushering them away from the table or away from the drinks table. Like she intercepted them before they went there. Let me let me ask a question. Maddie's kind of doing her best to sort of wind this down.
OK, so it's like, hey, you know, it's delicious water. Exactly. OK, water from a monitor. So let's. Can I roll to see where I wake up? OK. Yes, actually, you know what? If 15 to 20 is the actual legitimate bed you're supposed to be sleeping in every every degree below that is further and more bizarre. Good. OK, let's do it. Flatty 20. Well, that's a seven. I did seven. Seven's not great. Is it Ubo's bed? Those aren't pillows. It's a planes, trains and automobiles reference. Yes. Oh, my God. I love you. It's just. Ah, anyway. Would it be great if you like woke up in Edna's bed?
Well, I mean, that would be like a. Solid 17. Hey, why are Mrs. Mvens mom? Mrs. Mvens mom. You know what I want? Do me a favor. Roll a D6. Oh, that is perfect. So we're going to wake up the next day and. You guys are going to be not feeling great, everyone except for Maddie and Ubo, kind of hung over, kind of just really groggy, light. Light is kind of brighter than usual. Sounds are just just generally hung over. But the thing that makes Donovan feel a little bit better is the fact that he's he's cuddled right up to someone just very warm. Very, very kind of kind of muscular, just kind of just like just kind of feel safe.
I don't know how Ubo would feel about it. So I got to ask, let's say people are waking up. How would Ubo feel about Donovan kind of sleeping behind kind of just I imagine hand wrapped around his waist, just kind of just just just snuggling. OK, so is he waking up and I know I would say Ubo wakes up, Ubo and Maddie are probably going to wake up before everybody else. I'm imagining Ubo discovered this earlier in the night. So Ubo like what he sees, what he it's he says Donovan is it's Donovan. Yeah. He looks he looks at Donovan. He says, good, you are awake and then shoves him out of the bed.
And then as he gets up and just kind of like like gets ready to like leave the room, he says, I kept you from swallowing your tongue. You are welcome. That's actually really nice. He didn't kick him out of bed the second he found out. That's really nice. Yeah, actually. Thanks. How long did you wait? I don't know. When did you come home? Let's roll a D6 to see how many hours. Just like Ubo wide awake, waiting for him to wake up. I don't think that deserves a roll. OK, just you guys want to hit the road? You want to you want to get going? Yeah. All right. Slowly but surely.
My yeah, I have to say today today may be a it may be a bad day. Astor's already kind of a bit dejected and a bit of a bad just because it's like they're leaving, being like again and then like a bit of a hangover on top of that. Like they're just really not happy right now. Maddie, would you do me a favor? Give me a flat D20 with a negative two. Hey, it's not you. It's for the party. Hey. So that's kind of to simulate it. Maybe eyes are a little less peeled and just just. I just like to point out this is the first time ever I'm rolling a D20 and I get a negative two.
This is some bullshit. You're welcome. And look at that. Wow. Listen, that's just a peek at how mean Susan is. Back off, Susan. That's a 16th. That is a 16. So here's what's going to happen. It is the 15th. Well, 16th of yes. And we're going to start you're going to start your journey to Winterhaven. Now, this is going to take some time. With you guys at a walking pace, it's going to take almost 10 days. So what we're going to do is the first few days of this journey is actually going to be pretty uneventful. It's going to be it's going to be pretty damn nice.
You know, weather's going to drizzle off and on, but for the most part, everything looks pretty good. Now, here's the interesting bit on the 20th of yes. Which would put you guys just about to the tips of the Highland Mountains. If you if you have a if you have a map, I could I could pop up the map if you'd like. Oh, yes, we have a map. That is true. We do have a map. It did add a little bit of time because you got to sort of walk around the orc encampments. But it should put you. Let's see if I can draw here. What about there? I would like let's see. Amven, do me a favor and give me a dexterity save.
Oh, oh, oh, no, please, please, please, please. So you guys are going to be walking and all of a sudden, Amven is just going to fall flat. Just boom, trip and fall. Now, you're in the middle of of this kind of a shaded area. There are trees there and Amven is going to fall with a thud. I know. That's not the sound. That's not the sound that would normally accompany falling in grass or leaves or just general ground. This is like a boom. It almost sounds like wood. What would you guys like to do? Well, immediately help him. I would check out if it's some sort of cash or something.
So helping helping him into his feet, making sure it's OK. There's this little raised area where you guys are where you guys are walking. Everyone just seemed to avoid it except for Amven this time. And it's this little raised stone lip, basically. And brushing if you were to brush away the leaves that have been on top of this, there's a locked door in the middle of this field. Basically, the surrounding trees. There's a wooden door that that has a lock on it. Would you guys like to do? I check to see if it says forbidden in Elvin. So could be already getting out of Steve's tools.
So to put this in perspective, this is a very strange sight. This is this is a weird this is a weird thing to kind of stumble upon. There is no writing on this on on this door. It appears to be on the thicker side, though, because it looks like it has been here for a while and stood up to the elements. It looks like time kind of forgot about this area. So we're in like a big field, right? A field with some scattered trees and things like that. Yeah. Maddie's a little suspicious, so she'll look around and see if she like. Yeah, I feel like there's like any hidden persons waiting or sure.
Astor would probably help her looking around. That was also my mind there for a spot. Uh, Maddie, give me a give me a perception check with advantage because you and Astor are both working together here. So you see the door and it's like, uh-uh, uh-uh, and just kind of scoping out the area. Yeah. All right. 19. Very good. Drop the two. So 19. So south of you is that orchid camp, but that's pretty damn far. It'll be just kind of just kind of visible way, way, way in the distance. Around you. If you were to head if you were to head west, there's the mountains.
If you were to head east, you could get you. I would imagine that's kind of where you guys are are on the way that'll lead you to the road north and a winter. So right now, you're not really near anything. It's kind of the middle of nowhere. And you're you're you're keeping an eye out for for people trying to get the drop on you or if or if maybe this is an area that's been guarded. But the more you look at this place, that rock appear that the lock appears to be kind of rusty. That door has definitely been here for quite a while. Even the stones surrounding the door, they don't appear to be of the best craftsmanship.
Definitely not dwarven. So there's little gaps and separations in between the stones. This doesn't appear as though anyone's been here for quite a while. Is there any way I could like, I guess, use my knowledge to guess what this is? Do me a favor, give me a HISTORY check. OK, maybe someone else should tease out my book. I brought it up. I was going to say you stole it from me because I was like, well, while I'm looking around, you're thinking about what is this? Oh, yeah. Yeah. What I. OK, instead of just saying, oh, wow, I want to do a history check to play fair here with this is just like a door to where I guess.
Yeah, it was a door like in the middle of nowhere, like kind of in the middle of nowhere. Yeah. Is there any there's no signage at all? I know there's no writing. Is there any like symbol or like decoration that makes me think that that makes me think and run into my history check to kind of think of like this architecture, this style, this thing, this make me want to look other than it's a place in the woods. There doesn't appear to be any. It's not adorned with anything, right? It's not decorated with anything, but the very fact that this is this could be either an isolated incident or maybe something that's crept up in the past.
You could make the you could definitely make the argument that it's just it's like, why is there a door in the middle of this field that it's just horizontal? It looks like it just leads underground. And why would it be locked and why that type of thing? It's like, where have I have I ever heard of anything like this before? That would be a natural leap. It leads into just a wait, wait, wait, wait, let me think about it. This is all right. And I will run do this. Oh, no. What is up with my rolls tonight? Just for funsies. Hi, Rola. Doesn't count. I wasn't I'm not a second guesser.
Meanwhile, while people are thinking real hard, Donovan is quadding by the door and inspecting it, it turns around to the group and says, I found something right here. And he points it like nothing. And he says it says free stuff. I think we come over and grab the lock and give it a tug. It's fairly sturdy. Then he'd probably take out his kit and try to pick it. All right. You know what I want. Do I? Oh, well, then. 17. That's a 17. So with some fiddling after a while, this lock is going to pop right open. It's going to it's going to get you have to work it just a little bit, but it's going to it's going to pop and it's like and then pops right off.
Still got it. And then he'll just motion to Donnie if he wants the honors of opening the door. Yeah, sure. Stand aside. So he'll try to could I use like my my weapon to is there like a handle I could pull on or something? Yeah, totally. I'd probably try to go from a distance with the hook part of the pickaxe. Yeah. So you ever it's a single door. You ever see like like Twister or something like that, where everyone's run into the basement, that type of like a cellar door type of thing? Yeah. Something like that. But it's completely horizontal. And if Donovan opens this, it's going to give this ungodly creak.
Firstly, it's got some heft to it. And a couple of things. One, you're going to see a set of stairs leading down, not too intensely far. And there's going to be a smell that that hits people's noses. It's definitely kind of a wet basement smell. Anybody who's ever been spelunking or done any adventuring where the adventure led them underground definitely knows that smell. It is it is it's like going home. What would you guys like to do? Do we see like stairs or? Yes. OK. Definitely stairs leading down. Cool. Ubo just Ubo kind of looks around and lest anyone objects, he'll go down first.
I want to see if I can feel any magic coming from in here. Sure. Give me an Arcana check. See if I do any better. Gorgeous. Gorgeous. 16. Yeah, you're picking up you're picking up something, something kind of faint. Nothing that would kind of spike. But you're definitely picking up something down there. There is something of magical worth in the area. And then all in. Like, hey, there's something magical in there. Almost always going in. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Well, is anyone not going? Yeah. Yeah. That sounds like everybody's in. Yeah. Ubo uses his produce flame cantrip in the way to like just hold it in his hand instead of throwing it so that there's light.
All right. Sweet. OK. That was for me. Not you guys. Wow. You hear that distrust in everyone's voice? You produce flame and it lights off the methane leak. So, again, these stairs aren't too deep and you get the feeling the light coming in from outside is the first time light like natural light has touched this area in quite a while. It is grimy and old, covered in dust in front of you. So it's kind of a it's kind of a big open chamber. And in front of you, there's kind of there's a slab with an old body laying there. I think anybody who's good at putting pieces together would realize, oh, this is like a little miniature crypt.
Is there any like writing or anything like this? Is it just like bear? It doesn't appear as though there's there's writing. However, the person on the slab was buried with all of their stuff. Oh, cool. Is there like like jars or anything like that sort of laying around? Like empty jars? No, just like I'm hoping they're not empty, but like is there. So is there anything to root through? Oh, there's plenty to root through. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're talking about. Yeah. So at the foot of this slab, there's a there's a there's a little chest with a bunch of different.
These look like personal effects, a collection of something, right? And you remember how I said everything is dusty? There's an exception to that. So this person is is obviously a skeleton at this point, but like grasping their sword close to their chest. Their arms are crossed over and the sword's kind of rusty, not not in great shape. The shield he's laying on is not not in great shape either. But the armor still looks pristine. It is a set of gorgeous chain mail armor adorned with these drake teeth connecting the the shoulders to the arms and the like time and work and attention was put into this.
If you're speaking in game, this would be a set of plus one chain mail armor. So that's Mattie or Donovan, right? You guys were I don't know. Hit me with a question, Ron. Oh, yeah, I was going to ask you which listener sponsored this drop. This is Brian Smith, actually. Brian Smith. So I'm fuzzy on what constitutes great rubbing or not these days. Would that be great rubbing? Because that sounds like great rubbing. But I'm OK with it. But I mean, it's needed all at this point. It's only great rubbing if there are people who like remember that person, right?
There's only one way to find out about that. Any clues? Any clues on the person? Well, this is the interesting thing. Based on the clues you're picking up and the personal effects and things like that, by the way, you found 40 gold. This looked like maybe a paladin of a monitor? Oh, yeah, no. And my bed's over. Hey, this looks like your symbol. Yeah, you're not possibly going to grave rub someone of your own church. Let me take it. Oh, yeah. Mattie would probably catch on pretty quickly. How about we let the dead rest in peace? This was obviously prepared with care.
Nothing we find here will we need. Not even you could use it. It would further your mission. This was left. Sorry, go ahead. I was going to say this was left to honor one of those of my church. I'm not going to defile their crypts. Or you could honor them by continuing their work. What he said. It would have been left to the church if it was meant to have been used. Maybe a monitor let us here. I love it. Yeah, like everyone's looking around like each other in the room. Mattie's not moving an inch. We're like, OK, there's going to be something. Can I tell if the magic is coming from the armor?
The little faint? Yeah, it is. This is a gorgeous this is this is a gorgeous set of armor. Someone paid money for this. We're talking even if this is older armor. Even back when this was probably created, we're talking twelve hundred gold, maybe more. This armor is enchanted. I mean, it may help. What's he going to do? Yeah, something like that could save someone's life. I don't know about just leaving it here. No offense, I don't mean to disrespect your beliefs, but they don't need it anymore. It didn't save his life. Well, probably died of old age after a long life of legendary accomplishments, thanks to that armor.
Wow. Spin that thread. Spin that thread. Oh, all right. I don't feel comfortable with this. If you feel that you need what's in here, that's up to you. But I'll be outside. And then she turns around and walks up the stairs. Ubo takes kind of one last look at the armor and says, looks too elfy anyway. And then she starts walking up the stairs. Doesn't look elfy at all. I'm just kind of curious. I mean, there's some elegance to it. So I could see, like, you know, there's care and attention put into it, if that's the definition of elfy. Yeah, when Ubo says elfy, he means, oh, it sparkles.
OK, let's say Ubo and Mattie walk off and everything like that. We got the rest of the party down here. Can I ask everybody what their passive perception is? Twelve? Eleven. Twelve. OK, well, here's what's going to happen. I don't think anyone was beating a twenty. Yeah, the twenty I had to check. I have a really high perception. That was a ridiculous roll. Yeah, just the fit. So let's start with Astor. So from out of the darkness, this jet of acid is going to spray. I want you to give me a dexterity saving throw, please. But we didn't do anything. No, you didn't.
On a thirteen or higher. Oh, no. I'm rolling really badly tonight. I'm gutted. Don't hindsight us. In the chat, Mattie said you guys should have left two ha ha ha ha. Four ha's. Well, now it's only fair that we take the armor. Oh, yeah. We're old. So that's going to do nine damage. Here's what's going to happen. I want, I want, let's take off Ubo just for now. Or just not have the, yeah. So out of the darkness, these, you're going to hear the skittering all of a sudden, just after the acid spray. And these weird kind of large bodied praying mantis creatures are going to start to shamble out of a little side passage.
I would like you to roll for initiative, please. Let's... What the fuck is that? Okay. Is there a chance that Mattie would have like heard Aster swearing profusely? Yeah, they're going to jump in the next round. Should we roll now or should we wait till next round? Go ahead. Wait till next round. Add the damage to me. I'm on it. Yeah. Oh, dang. So that's going to, that's going to smart. Oh, yeah. That's going to sting. Let's get you a map. So the room, that bit that you could see on the map there represents the little crypt that you're in. And Mattie and Uba would be off to the side representing them being up a floor.
So they've kind of left, but they are going to hear the screaming and they will join the fight in the very next round. But for now, let's start with Amven. See them? See them all close together? Let's start this off big and has his hands together and as he pulls apart, a icicle forms. And he's going to target this wonderful one here and throw ice knife at him and miss. Yes, you will miss. But let me see if I can remember ice knife. Ice knife is the knife that lands then explodes, right? Correct. Yes. OK. So the other two, all three of them have to pass a dexterity save, correct?
Yep. Well, number two just failed. Let's see how the other one, how the other ones would fare. Yep. So number one would pass, so number one would save and number three would fail. Cool. So two and three are taking some damage. All right. So then I think that's what this other bloody dot is here. Yeah. Oh, so eight damage to Ankeg two and three. Nice. Anything else? Yeah, I'm going to come over here and hide. OK. Donovan. OK, I'm going to open up by chucking one of my hand axes at Ankeg two. OK. Hmm. Oh, that's going to go a little wide. All right, so he's going to wince and then move towards them with a shield propped forward and stand between them and Astor.
Let's see here. All right. Thank you. Very brave. Thank you very much. You're welcome. So this ice knife is going to explode in this tiny corridor that they're coming out of and kind of ricochet in there. The hand X is just going to just miss nearly and you're going to hear a clatter in the background. Ankeg number one is going to try and bite at Donovan. Whoa, whoa. OK, critical miss. Oh, yeah, a lot of stuff just auto rolled. It did. So it did roll on our crit table. That Ankeg is now dazed until the end of its next turn. Why is it dazed? What happened? It is fatigued.
It wore itself out. It's like fight. I just don't like it any today. That's the one that spit acid at me too. Well, it is the one that spit acid. Yeah, so that's why it didn't. So apparently the acid spit really takes it out of them. That is the weakness. Could I take one of my reactions? I don't know if I could have taken my pickaxe as I walked. I don't think it takes a standard action to draw a weapon. No. I want to know if I can use riposte on him and use one of my superiority die to hit him because he missed. Sure. Let's do it. All right, let's do it then.
Okay, so I get to roll damage plus a d8 because of my superiority die, which is four damage. So I'm going to add four. One, two, three, four. And here we go. 15 damage. That's a lot of damage. All right, anything else? No, it was just a reaction. All right. Okay, two is going to target Donovan and try to bite. And that'll miss with an 18. Holy lord. Cool. I can't do it again, though. Masocha. Okay. Which one did he hit? Two? He hit one. One, okay. So the one standing directly in front of him. He's kind of blocking this corridor, but there's one standing right in front of him, this slimy praying mantis looking creature.
Think if a praying mantis and a cockroach had a baby. Oh, that's disgusting. So big mandibles on this flat wide body. Okay, so it's going to run up here all grossed out. Target the one that Donovan hit. Try and reduce the numbers here. Stab at him with his dagger. Okay, let's do it. That will hit. Damage. Seven damage to Enkeg 1. And then I will run away. So I have two more. So slipping back. Okay, well then you know what? Enkeg 3 is just going to use his acid spray on Donovan. So let's see, this will be his deck save, it will automatically do it. That's a failure.
Whoosh, whoosh. Bobbing and weaving. No, that's a failure for you. Oh, dammit. The opposite. Oh, it hurts. Okay, yeah. So that is 11 damage. Yeah, okay. That's not great. Okay. So yeah, that'll be the end of that. And Aster, your turn. Aster is not having a great day. I was kind of like, probably like dripping from the acid and just like reeling, so they are going to back up a couple steps and come kind of stand by Fandren. Yes, and I'm going to try and hit the one that got them with acid. Okay, Enkeg 1. And nope. That one's gonna miss. And they're just gonna just swear again and yeah, that's it.
Ubo, Mattie, do me a favor and roll initiative. Okay. So I imagine you hear this commotion and you're gonna run down and join. Wow. Aren't you lovely? Holy shit, you guys are ready for action. Both rolling very high. Let's kick things off here with Ubo. Okay. Excuse me. Let's see this. Okay, my bonus action to make a flame blade appear. Whoosh. Whoosh is the sound of my flame blade appearing. It's a new day. It's dawned. It's time for new beginnings. It glows with the bright hope for the future. So here's a question. I can't remember if this is an official rule or is this just a house rule that my table always used, but you take a minus 2 penalty to attack around a corner because there's partial cover.
Is that a thing? I don't know if that was a house rule that my table used for other editions. I think that's official D&D rules. I think it's official, yeah. That's never come up for us, but yeah, I think it's official. Yeah, that's the closest I can get while still getting to take a swing. All right, I have clicked the target. I will roll the attack with this button and go. Well, guess what? That still hits. Yeah. So Ubo manifests his flame blade and goes barreling across the room, probably nearly scorching with Soka and his enthusiasm to prove that his flame blade actually works on certain days of the week and plunges it into this Ankeg for 11 fire damage.
Eleven damage! I need to ask you a question, and it's in all seriousness. Yeah? What color is your flame blade? Oh, it's fiery. It's normal firey colors. So you know what is a kind of mountain? A volcano. Right. So it's like volcano fire. Gotcha. Okay. Gotcha. Gotcha. Gotcha. Listeners were asking, so I had to... Yeah, no, the listeners to Carrie Winkle think on the Facebook page that was a joke. It's not actually Carrie. Carrie Winkle flame blade just doesn't roll off the tongue. It doesn't. You can say P flame blade, but that's not very... I don't think you can say that.
That's gonorrhea. It is volcano fire. It is fire from a mountain. So that's going to light up this space, right? This kind of darker, this area just whoosh. That's going to be really cool. Anything else? Nope. That's all I got. All right. Evan, your turn again. All righty. I pull out my diamond that I haven't used in a while. And I'm going to cast chromatic orb using lightning, of course. And so as I pull out my diamond, you notice that it's lightning sparking and I will try to hit it. That'll hit. Yeah. Bam. 15 damage. Okay. Two. Good Lord. Lightning streaks from the diamond in my hand and electrifying him.
Again, just kind of lighting up this space and man, anything else? It nearly hits Donovan and Uba. It just goes right between them. Yep. Speaking of which, Donovan. He's going to kind of like shout just because he's still burning from the acid, but he's also like really into the two attacks that the two guys just did. Just like, "Yeah, that's how you do it!" He's going to wipe his face with his forearm and regain some hit points with his second wind. Ooh. Second wind is a d10 plus my fighter level, so a d10 plus three. There we go. Twelve. So you're good. All right.
And I'm going to use my action surge to have another action. And I'm going to strike at Ankeg Two. So after wiping his face off, he just whips around with the warpick into that thing. That is definitely going to hit. 25. All right. And I'm going to use Goating Attack this time. So I'm going to spend a Superiority die and add to the damage. And if it fails a Wisdom saving throw, I think, it has to attack me or take disadvantage. Okay. Do you also add the die to the damage? Yes, yes I do, I believe. Let me just read it real quick. Goating Attack. You add the Superiority die to the attack's damage roll and the target must make a Wisdom saving throw.
On a failed save, the target has disadvantage on all attacks. That's not me. So yeah. Nice. So rolling the die, that's going to be two. Okay. Plus two. And roll for damage. Oh, that will kill it, actually. And stay down. I'm just picturing this, like they're trying to crawl out of the opening of the wall, we're just 300-ing the shit out of them. Yes! That's exactly what it is. Yeah, that'll be just enough to kill it. All right. Honk-Egg 1 is going to try and bite Donovan again. Oh, it's dazed. It can't. Crap. Never mind. Umm, Mattie. Okay. She will run up and... She was going to heal, but Donovan took care of himself.
So... She will run up and see that even though he healed himself, he probably still has acid on him and saw something try to bite him, but didn't. And she's not close enough to take the damage, so she'll look at him and say, "Donovan! You have to live to drink another day!" And then cast a Shield of Faith on him. Which will add +2 AC. And that's a bonus action, and then she'll go and attack Honk-Egg with her Guiding Bolt. That'll hit. Nice. Awesome. Because this is one of my faves. So then she will shoot this radiant beam out of her other hand. One hand will be pointed towards Donovan, and the other hand will be pointed to the Honk-Egg.
And this radiant beam will wrap itself around the Honk-Egg and hopefully do a lot of damage. 18 damage! Whoa! I want it to explode. You know what? Done. I don't know how appreciative Donovan will be of that, but done. I wiped my face again. I still want it to explode. And then what's supposed to happen after is it's supposed to be wrapped in this mystical dim light if it was still alive that's glittering, so I want it to have glitter to fall to the ground. That is both beautiful and disgusting. Yes. Ah, Masoka. Hey. Okay, so now he feels he needs to show off, because Maddie's back.
So, he's going to try to add some acrobatics to this. He's going to run over just past Donovan, jump, and kick off the wall to come down on the Honk-Egg with his dagger right into his eye. Okay. Do you want to try the same thing you did before? Sure. Okay, then do me a favor. I want you to make an acrobatics check. Alright. I would say with that, you're going to pull the little jump move off, but it's just going to be a blatant stab. So it's just an attack, just a regular one. Nothing with advantage, nothing with disadvantage. You didn't fall down or anything like that.
Okay, okay. So it was average. It was average. It was like, "Oh, that's a little flare." Yeah, okay. He's not happy about that. A little embarrassed. Okay, then go for an attack. Oh, I didn't... Didn't target. Eleven's going to miss. Okay. Then I'll use... No, he's got full health. Okay, he's going to reluctantly come away from that one. Not that I moved up in the first place. So he would have been here. Okay. And then he's going to come back down. Disengage. Alright. Disengage. Yeah, sorry, cleaning action. So that wasn't amazing, but it can't all be decapitations. No.
And then he'll never live up to that one either, so... [LAUGHTER] You know what, then? This Anki is going to shuffle on up and target Donovan and try to bite. And that'll hit. That's a 20... Oh, yeah. Okay, that's my new AC. You're right. Yes. That'll be 15 damage. And it's going to grapple you. It's going to grab you in these mandibles. And it's going to try and essentially devour you. So picture that acid spray they do as something that softens the meat. It's kind of a bile that comes from them that breaks down and dissolves meat so they can easily gobble it up.
It kind of eats the fly a little bit. [LAUGHTER] Aster. Okay. Aster's going to try and move a bit to the side to get a better angle at it. Will attacking it be affected by the fact that it's grappling Donovan? No. Okay. Just making sure before I start impacting you. No, no, no. You're not going to accidentally hit Donovan. And it's going to miss again. Oh, no. The curse has been passed. Everything's bad. Everything's bad. [LAUGHTER] Ubo. Well, shoot. I'm in position. I'm not going to mess with some sess here. Does 5th edition still have the 5-foot step without provoking thing?
Yes. Okay. Well, Ubo's going to slide over here so I don't have to take a penalty anymore. I think you're fine because you're still in melee anyway. Yeah, you're still in -- yeah. Yeah, I didn't exit his reach. Okay. Cool. And then we're just going to swing the flame blade like so. That'll hit. 16 still hits. All right. Two in a row. That is 13 damage. Nice. Big, steady hit. And then with his bonus action, Ubo's going to give a little shout over to Aster. I think I have the range for that. The healing word. Yeah. Oh, within 60 feet. Okay. I'm not sure what he tells Aster to motivate them.
Wipe it off. You'll be fine. Oh, my God. It's beautiful. Hey, max healing. Max healing. All right. Aw, thank you. You're welcome. I can do it at range. I just can't do a lot of healing. It's little mini-heals. That concludes my turn. That brings up Amven. All right. Donovan is grappled, right? I can see that he's being -- Oh, yeah. -- helped. Oh, yeah. It's kind of a dramatic show. Yeah. What does he need to get out of it? What stat is it? I forget. It would be athletics for me if I want to break out of it. So, Dex? No, it would be strike three, I think. I think I can do both.
I think you use the better of your athletics or acrobatics. Yeah. Okay. Well, I'm going to target Donovan, and I say -- and then I draw something in the air, and it's the shape of a bull. Maybe it's just the horns. And I say, "You can get out of that, Donovan," and I give you Enhance Ability. Ooh. On Strength, which the target has advantage on Strength checks and his or her carrying capacity doubles. Ooh. Well, that's awesome. Anything else? Nope, that's it. All right. So, Donovan. Does Donovan's armor just kind of become tighter on him as his muscles fall down?
Does he look like he's in a sausage casing now? So, would that include athletics checks if I have advantage on Strength checks? I want to say it's Strength in Strength skill checks. What's the wording of the spell? Oh, I guess every skill is an ability check with a proficiency modifier in the fifth edition. Yeah, you phrasing. Okay. I don't want to waste your thing. I wanted to do a cool thing. Yeah, because that would be my action. I'm going to roleplay that into it, and he's going to reel backwards to try to get his arm outside of the thing's mouth. But instead it's going to keep grabbing onto it, so he's going to pull his head towards him a bit, and getting it outside of the entrance a little bit and away from Ubo.
And he's going to yell, "Aster, take the shot!" I'm going to use Commander Strike. Oh no. Why'd you pick me? I need you all to redeem yourselves. Even if it's in the next episode. So, yeah, you would take an attack if you use your reaction, and then you add the dice if you hit. So I attack it now? Just attack it. Gotcha. Here we go. That will hit! Alright, so you can add this much to your damage. Dude. Okay, so I just scroll up six on the modifier, right? Yep. Yeah, that's 17. That's 17 damage. Beautiful. That's right! Beautiful. Mattie? So Mattie will see him holding onto it, and not running away and possibly taking more damage.
She'll run up behind Donovan and say to him, "You should worry about yourself," and pat him on the back, which then cure wounds. That's seven. He's gonna say, "Thanks, but you too." And that's my whole action, 'cause that was a regular action, so you're welcome. Hey, Misoka! Hey. This is, yeah, this is... Can I take this home? We'll see. We'll see. Okay. Humbled by his last move, he's just gonna take this one easy. Well, he's not gonna have any flair to it, so I walk up here, strike out with my dagger. Find it. That's gonna miss. Then I am going to... How did that work with my second dagger?
Was that part of Sneak Attack? Oh, man. It's a bonus action to just do another attack. Yeah, but you can't disengage. Yeah. Yeah, that's still missed, though, sadly. Yeah. Okay. This has been quite humbling. Okay. So this is like, he's wily. He's so flat and slimy. It's just... So, Aageg, number three, has still got Donovan grappled here. What he's gonna do is he's going to try and bite again, but this time there's this bile dripping from... That same acid is kind of dripping, so he's looming over and trying to snap, and he's going to roll with advantage to try and attack Donovan.
That is a crit. Oh, my God. There's a lot of shit. Oh, shit. I hope it's not my head. Oh, no. Oh, no. All right. Let's do this. What happened? Knockout blow. In addition to standard critical hit damage, you knocked the target unconscious. So let's do damage first. 30 damage. Oh, shit. So that's... Man. Ow. It was growing. So that is going to knock out Donovan, but not kill him. Double knocked unconscious. Astor. Okay. Okay. I gotta know. What would be going through Astor's mind right now? They're just kind of like... I guess a bit taken aback, just because we're taking them hits, including both them and Donovan, and taking some damage from the acid and stuff.
But that was like... it didn't seem to be going too badly until suddenly this whole attack just completely knocked Donovan completely out. And so there's a bit almost stunned for a second, and then just really gonna just double down and try and put this thing out so that the healers can focus on getting Donovan back up. This is your chance. That is a crit. Oh, what? Redeemed. That is a crit knockout blow. Honestly, I think an arrow is going through this thing's skull anyway, but do me a favor. Roll damage. It'll automatically... Yep. Nice. Arrow through this thing's skull as it looms over Donovan is going to go down.
Guys, that is going to take you out of combat. Collapses on top of his body. As soon as he drops, I'm going to do first Spare the Dying, which just makes him stable. So he doesn't have to do any death saving throws. That's a cancer rip. And then, this one takes ten minutes, but it's my highest level healing spell, Prayer of Healing. And it does 2d8 plus my spellcasting modifier. Oh yeah, that's a biggie. Let me ask you a question. Are you leaving this place, or are you setting up a perimeter? It's like, okay, nothing in or out. Let's just make sure this goes off without a hitch.
I think for the perimeter thing right now... I mean, just the fact that Donovan's completely out, I don't want to risk moving him. Right. Maybe? I don't know. Does that make sense to everyone else? Yeah, that would be bad CPR. There's no other doorways or anything in here, is there? No, it's just that little pathway. You could definitely see things coming now. Like, you're like, "Oh, that's here." That type of thing. Because I imagine that's the first thing you do. When that happens, look around the room, it's like, "Okay, can any more of those things get in?" Yeah.
And then, Anvin wants to come up, I guess, while you're praying for that. It takes ten minutes for your other one to start, right? Yes. So, while you come up, I actually come up in front of him, and I will end up doing the Enhance Ability again, except this one is the Constitution. Which the target has advantage on Constitution checks, and it also gains 2d6 temporary hit points. Oh, wow. Okay, so this is a real all-hands-on-deck situation. You're making sure that... Yeah, he's like, "You need to make sure you pull through this, man." And, hey, I don't deserve you guys.
And then everyone in the area actually could get healing from My Prayer of Healing, because it's six creatures of my choice in the area, so I'm just going to include Aster. Hopefully she gets her two back. Yeah. Oh, sorry. Hopefully they get their... I have it on my computer screen, too. That's so sweet. So, eight. He's not dying anymore. Yeah, Donovan's going to regain consciousness here after the 10 minutes is up. I'm just gonna cough a bit. Take the fucking armor. So, I think this whole praying thing's like this 10 minutes of intense praying, and I even feel like sweat would get on her brow, because she's really focused.
And then he does that. She's gonna shove his shoulder down and be like, "You're welcome." Thanks, sis. Maybe it'll take a point of damage, because she'll shove something down. Ow. Everyone else alright? Yeah, are you? I'll be fine. In a few hours. Yeah, that sucked. Glad you made it. You did good, killer. Yeah, for the first couple shots at least. He's gonna look at Envin and say, "I didn't have time to use your thing, man. I'm so sorry." "It's alright." "At least you're with us." I'm good. Hey, I'm still Donovan. I've been in the worst shape. He's still burning with acid.
I think Matti would help you up and be like, "Maybe we should leave before more of those things come." Yes, good thinking. Quick question. Is this an actual corridor going back, or is that just like... Like a tunnel, like a makeshift... It looks like someone dug into this. They just kind of found it. Is it big enough to fit someone through? Yeah. Ubo's gonna hold out his conjure flame in his hand and say, "I just want to see if there is anything else down here. I will not go far." Does it open into a nest area? Are there corpses? Besides the bugs you're standing next to.
What it looks like is this path goes back a ways, probably 25, 30 feet, and then it's gonna bend around to the right. Ubo will go far enough to look around the corner at least. Okay. Would you say that he'd be doing this quietly? Just kind of stalking around the corner type of thing? That's what it sounds like? He's not especially sneaky, and he's holding a flame that lights him up like a beacon. That's fair. Yeah, he's not even hoping that he's sneaky. Okay. So this does open up into a pretty large nesting area, I guess you could call it. Could Ubo do me a favor and roll Perception?
I think he can. I'm not trained, but I'm not bad. 13. Ubo's definitely gonna hear something, and what it sounds like is more of those things, but they're in the distance. But with a 13 you can't quite tell if they're going about their daily routine or if they're closing in. Does he see anything immediately of value in the area before he turns back? I wouldn't say a value. Not to you, anyway. Okay. Ubo hustles back to the rest of the party and says "We cannot camp here. There are more. Not close, but more." While standing up, he nods to Ubo, like "Yeah, we should get out of here." But he's gonna put his shoulder around Maddy's shoulders and nudge her towards the place where the body is laying.
Oh my god. He's gonna say "Look, I need you to keep healing me when I fuck up. But you won't heal yourself, so you need this to keep healing us, okay? That's non-negotiable." I don't even wear chainmail. I mean, you can? Like you're able to? I think Maddy's just like so fed up at this point. But she's like dragging you towards the entrance. She's like "Let's just leave the dead be. This place was not good to us. If anything, I think this is a sign that we should get out of here." Ah, okay. So Maddy's taking this as definitely like "Um, yeah, we shouldn't have even come in.
This is..." And Donovan sounds like he's taking it as a sign that's like "See? This is why we need better armor." Well, I sure gosh darned wear chainmail. He's gonna furrow his brows and then turn around and look at Maddy and say "Are you gonna stop me?" But he's gonna start unstrapping the armor. So she was like helping you towards the exit, and now she's just like gonna throw up her arms and say "Fine, whatever. If you feel this is what you need to do, fine." And then she's gonna take out her mace again and watch the tunnel while he does that. If anything comes out of there, I'm ready to just like run with the whole thing.
But I'll do it fast. As fast as I can. You know what? Let's roll a saving throw to see. Astor will come over and help him to make it go faster. Who was leaving all y'all behind? Seven more. I've been standing next to Maddy. Yeah, we're probably like here and I'm thinking of things in the middle where they are. Yeah. So at a certain point, I think you're going to definitely hear more of these things coming. I'd say after about four minutes or so. And by that time, this armor is pretty much you've got it off. You're ready to go. I'm guessing you're leaving? Go, go, go, go, go.
Are you closing the door behind you? Yeah. Okay. Just just just was wondering. That's all. Assuming the lock wasn't broken, we probably lock it too. I would have been. Yeah, I think I think the Soak is skilled enough that he didn't need to break the lock in order to pick it. Yeah, you got a good one. That was a successful pick. It was a successful pick. So locking this back up and you might understand why someone locked it in the first place. But yeah, OK. Congratulations. You have a set of plus one chain mail. Thank you. I'm also a paladin of a monitor now. That's how that works.
Do you know what I'd like to do? I'd like to grant inspiration to both Mattie and Donovan. Oh, thank you. Because both of you had good reason to both want to leave and stay and you're both stuck to your guns. And yeah, that's that's all. We should get an achievement. I think we're first on the show. I believe Tatiana was the first one. Oh, I think. Well, congratulations, Tatiana. Yeah, I like Jamie. She can have it. First on group A. Yeah, Ubo does say to Maddy next time you see others of your faith, maybe ask if there was some temple of a monitor here or a battle.
Your people of your faith thought it seems different. That's a crypt would be so far from any other people. Jason, now that you brought it up, can I like search my memory banks for like any paladin of a monitor that was honored? Give me a history check. Let's figure out whose crypt you violated. It is my faith that I studied my entire life. Can I get like a plus? I'll let you do it with advantage. Thank you. Thank you. I needed it. Wow. Wow. You dropped a one to get a 19. So in total, that's a 22. Here's the thing. The problem with your faith, not that there's a problem with worshiping a monitor.
Wait, can you remember that? I have lots of friends of your faith. Seriously. They are real do-gooders, man. They are out and about and they are constantly trying to sort of, the nice way of saying, stick their nose where it doesn't belong in order to help people out. And in that area, there's a lot of buried people who monitor. What's interesting about that one is that either that was a, that's not necessarily their style to set up an entire crypt for one person or something like that. It's more, let's take their body back so that there might have been something preventing them from doing that.
Maybe they were all in bad shape. Maybe that maybe that maybe that palented something so heroic that it's like, okay, we can't carry them back. But we can, at the very least, respect them and bury them with all their possessions and leave because there were possessions there. Obviously, the armor is a big thing, but their money, their little trinkets, jewelry, all that stuff was still there with the body. That is a sign that someone buried them with a lot of respect and dignity. Yeah. Yep. Oh, man. I don't know about all this. This person was loved by the people.
That's two Grays robbed in three episodes. It's a morally gray area. Could save a friend's life. Never know. Yeah. S'alem, Maddie. Twist in the night. What's the enchantment on it? It's a plus one. It's essentially, it's all the benefits of chainmail, but with a plus one to AC. Magically more protective than usual. Yes. So it's like wearing scale mail. What I wear. I was just looking up the modifiers chainmails 13 and scale mails 14. Stop bragging. Just saying. So let's, uh, let's hold on a second. Let's first of all, get you your, your let's equip your, your, your stuff.
I'm imagining you're putting it on. Yes. I was carrying it. Yeah. I was trying to fiddle with it in the sheet, but I might just let you do it, I guess. Just to clarify, this has a giant symbol of a monitor on it. Oh yeah. It's decorated. Yeah. Okay. Cool. Cool. I'm just, I, in my mind, the plot twist that's coming for us is it's actually still possessed with his spirit and he's a real teetotaler. So you can't drink anymore. He's like always in your mind scolding you anytime you drink. Ooh, trinkets of a monitor have been known to do that to you, Xavier. No! To take over your mind.
It's mine. It's mine. So how about we advance time a few more days? Okay. I was just gonna say at some point during these days, you know, like all of a sudden you're thinking about past conversations and you're like, wait, at some point during these days, not sure when she remembers what, uh, Misoka said when he was drunk. I'm half a Ladrin and like, it must be like when she glances at him and she's like, wait, he looks familiar. Like all of a sudden, cause she's probably soul Dagon, but never like interacted with him. So at some point she's gonna be like, wait, he looks really familiar.
And then I'm half a Ladrin. And so she's going to be like, Oh, a monitor. And then she'll run up to, uh, not run, but rush over to him and say, Misoka, you said you're half a Ladrin? Did I? Yeah. Well, that's what, uh, that's what some of those elves told me. That's what they thought anyway. Okay. This is going to sound crazy, but I met an Aladrin and now that I'm thinking about it, you look a whole lot like him. Um, say what now? I know it's crazy, but now that has been pointed out to me, I don't know. I, you look like this Aladrin that came through Albury a few years ago.
Hmm. Well, I know, I know there was one hanging around Brightport. I mean, there were rumors anyway. I, okay. Um, yes. Our whole town got involved in fixing up their boat so they could get to Brightport. I'm not sure if this is who your father, but the Aladrin I met, his name is Dagon. Well, supposing that's true. Oh, I don't know what to do with this, Maddie. I'm sorry. I just, I was just thinking about it. No, no, that's, thank you for telling me. It's tough. I don't, I don't even know if I want to meet him. Well, I didn't even know. I know my dad was the Aladrin.
I'm sorry that, I'm sorry I made you upset. I didn't mean to. No, it's just, you seem so excited when you were telling me that you were half Aladrin. I mean, I was drinking, I don't know, deep down. I probably want to meet him, but I just, I'm so mad. Yeah, I get that. Who throws their kid away? Yeah, who does that? Yeah. Well, now you have more information that you could decide to use or not. Okay, I'll, uh, I'm going to have to think about this. Thank you. No problem. And I like to point out when Maddie says, "Who does that?" like, steel gets into her like face too.
Like, yeah, who does that? Okay, and she'll like put a hand on your shoulder and say, "Well, I'm glad I could help in some way." Um, he's gonna go in for a hug. He's gonna take a chance. Okay, she's a hugger. But it's like she hugs everyone, so this is... Yeah, it means more to him than he would know. She'll hug back, so. Okay. Alright, so how's about we advance to the 24th of yes-d? Now, you guys are just a couple of days out from Winterhaven. I would like someone to do me a favor and roll a flat d20. Let's have, uh, let's have Ubo roll. Or not. No, no. Nice.
We're gonna advance time just a little bit, so it is now the 26th. You guys are closing in on Winterhaven. It has been a remarkably calm journey with the exception of the Uncakes. But you did get something out of that, which, you know, usually is not the case. As you're walking down the road here, on your right, so to the east, you're gonna see a wagon set up. And this wagon looks to be not in the best shape. And currently it looks like this wagon is parked and someone is resting. Now, the text on the side is what's interesting, because sometimes, if it's a traveling salesman or something like that, there'll be their name etched on the side here.
And this says "The Glittering Garvey" in big gold letters, kind of hand-stitched into the side of this wagon. And you're gonna see that there's some clotheslines, something like that, strung up. And this person is very much camped out. Does that ring a bell, 21? You can roll a history check. I'll store that. Okay. Do you have no modifier? I have no modifier. He's concerned with the now, the here and now. It's better than a negative one. That's true. Donovan, the only one rolling? Oh, more than one girl? Yeah, go ahead. Let's see if this rings a bell with anybody.
I can't picture Ubo knowing, so... Okay. Oh, that is a minus one. Oh, jeez. That's why you bring me along, sometimes. I'd say the name, the last name kind of rings a bell with a couple of people here, but to Anvin, this is gonna just click. It's like, "Oh, shit." So, Leroy Garvey is the name of a once famous actor. Oh my god. Used to tread the boards in every major city on the mainland, and there was even talks of a big continental drive, just like, "I'm gonna go." But in recent years, the poor guy has had a problem with alcohol, and it's affected his performance.
He used to go city to city and reenact the tree signing between Winterhaven and Overdale. He would kind of don red face and do maukas for the people, that type of thing. And man, they lapped it up. This guy was the shit. And then, you know, times got a little tighter. He kind of vomited on stage once or twice, and then he started playing smaller towns. He'd play your Aubrey's, and he'd play your Fairbays and that type of stuff. And then he would eventually just get to the point where people pay him in rum, and he's kind of just fallen on some hard times.
Oh my god. I'd check it out. I want to say, for some reason, I've actually been to some of those. Because he's been around for a long time, right? Yeah. Oh yeah. With that role. Yeah, he's an older... He's a bit of an older gentleman now, in his 50s, and yeah. If you need someone to play a pastry critic. Side note, I just watched the Nature Boy Ric Flair 3430, and that's what this reminds me of. Oh no! I've got to watch that now. Poor Ric Flair. I know. It was so good too. You guys should watch it. Even if you don't like wrestling. Even if you don't like Ric Flair.
Even if you don't like Ric Flair or wrestling. I could not handle it. You don't like the Nature Boy? Quick question though, do we want to divvy up the money that we got? That money from the... yeah. That's like six gold to each of us, I think. Or about... Yeah, that was 40x6. Donovan would just take five, and then you can all get seven. Dude, you almost died! Well, you got the armor. I got the armor. You did get the armor. That's true. Who's divvying it up? I assume we'd do that earlier, around the campfire. Well, that he wouldn't take it. Oh. Aww. Okay, so we're only splitting this five...
Five ways, so eight each! Why does Donovan get any at all? He's got a full thing of armor. Just give me one, man. I only have one. If I have only one coin in my pouch, it doesn't make any sound when I walk. I need at least two. The people need to know. Okay, eight gold apiece. Yeah, that sounds good. My gold is modified. So, this guy... normally he's wearing this kind of three-piece suit that's tattered, and he's a little on the portly side, not the same shape he was in back in his heyday. Yes. But still tries to present that noble front, kind of puffs his chest out a little bit.
He is currently... he is roasting this little bit of meat on a stick over a little crackling fire when you approach. And he's going to drop the stick and reach for a dagger. Back ruffians! Back! I was just with my hands for it, like "Whoa, whoa, whoa, no, no, no, nothing like that." Yeah, I don't know if Anvin would have told everyone who that guy is. Yeah, I probably would have been like, "Dude, this is Leroy, you know? Leroy? Come on!" Yeah, sounds vaguely familiar. Traveling performer? Interesting. Let's go check this... I guess we're roleplaying what happened before now?
Yeah, I was about to say! There we go, that was a snippet of the past. Minutes later, we're going to need some... Okay, so, hands up, no, no, nothing like that. We're just here to check you out, Mr. Leroy. I'm sorry! I saw the sign, and I remember some of your performance, and I wanted to come in and see what was going on. I haven't seen you in forever. Oh! Oh, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho! And he's going to put the dagger away. FANS! I must apologize you. Can't be too careful while traveling the highways. Can I get an autograph for anyone? Yeah, I'll take one, yeah, for sure.
What can I get in sign on? That better not be the armor. I was thinking about... Mattie is going to kill you! That's only going to appreciate in value. He's got these white gloves on, so he's going to take the glove off and sign the back of it. I could tell you stories of all the times that I've signed autographs for fans. You could tell that if he were sober, this would be a beautiful signature. It's a little on the wavy side. And he's going to lean in. There was one time I signed a pair of bosoms with this lovely young lady in Durn Hollow. Quite a sight.
The show, not the bosoms. Or the bosoms as well, I suppose. He's going to turn around to Evan. I love this guy. Figured you might. And Evan hands out one of his travel books. So, Mr. Do you have anything going on right now? Any plays? Is it just you? Is this how it works? You've never seen one of my shows, I take it. No, I'm a potential new fan. Trust me, all that would have to happen is that you attend one of my shows and I guarantee you, my fine young man, that you would be a fan after that. When's the next one then? Well, right now I'm currently in talks playing a reunion tour a bit in Winterhaven.
I actually plan on speaking to someone tomorrow. Interesting. That's where we're going now. Really? Might I ask what you fine able-bodied folks do? I work for the Therian Mail. Well, not a glamorous profession, but a much needed one. Good for you, son. Get you places. I hit things until they die. He's going to- you see his hand drift back to the dagger just a little bit and then he- he's going to lean over to Ambin. He's not doing much to buck the old stereotypes, is he? Nah, but that's what keeps us safe on the road. Oh, well, yes, I suppose that would come in handy.
You seem quite skilled, young man. Thank you. May I ask who you were going to talk to in Winterhaven? Well, I don't have an appointment with anyone per se, but it's just been quite a while. I'm sure the current leadership of Winterhaven would love to see a performer of my stature grace them and tread the boards once more. Ambin's got some contacts. I'm sure we can help you out. Really? Yeah, why not? Ambin looks up- has it connected that he's drunk? Oh, absolutely. Within two seconds. Yeah, the second you come within speaking distance of him, it's like, oh, you're slurring words a little bit.
You're- you- you reek. Then when he leans close to say that thing about Ubo, it's like, whew. And then be like, yeah, could happen. This is most fortuitous then. It's destiny, kismet even. Yeah. I'll tell you what. And he's going to- now he's in tight. He's rapping. He's got his arm wrapped around Ambin's shoulder. My dear young man, I will give you front row passes to every member in your party. You can simply allow me to speak to one of your- one of your city contacts. I don't need to tell you how charming I can be if given the opportunity. He looks at his arm, like where he was holding him, and be like, oh, uh, depends.
I mean, are you- what are you charging these days? And you could tell he's doing math in his head. Well, seeing as how it's for Winter Haven, I owe quite a debt to that city. I'm not sure if you know, but that's one of the major cities I got started in. It's like a second home to me. So, why, I wouldn't charge anything at all if I could simply entertain that crowd one more time. Although, I don't anticipate it being one show if I get my way. The people, their thirst just simply can't be slicked. Astor is absolutely cracking up in the back. They're like, they don't like trying not to lose.
This is too much. And Emon is trying to figure him out. He's like trying to solve, like he's a problem that he has to solve. Not to interrupt. You there, the orcish lad, and you. And he's going to point to Masochi. I could use a couple of extras in a performance that I've been writing, penning, just on the road. Do you fancy yourself acting, if I had a chance? Masochi's going to look at Ubo. Ubo's going to look at Masochi and then look at Mattie and be like, just kind of like, just kind of give her the, is this a good idea look? I was waiting for, what does actor mean?
Yeah, I would say they do. Excellent. Excellent. There's something earthy about you both. Such rugged good looks. You could tell that you've seen real, real life combat. I need that. It's not really so much a speaking role. There's a few lines, of course, but trust me, you're both perfect. I am rock hard like the mountain. See, he knows. He is going to let, he is going to let his arm drift off. And with one swift, fluid motion, he's going to almost float over Ubo and just kind of like give his shoulder a squeeze. See, you wouldn't want to deprive your friends here of a performance.
Okay, so Susan, just like Mattie, is just mouth agape, like seeing all the ways this could go wrong. Like just flashing in her head like Ubo's given a weapon, and he doesn't know what acting is. So when he's told to pull a swing. Like this is flashing through her head. And so she's gonna come up and be like, I don't think this is the best idea. Mattie, Winterhaven does not know the strength of the mountain. I will act. I will teach them about the mountain. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. That, that is a perfect stage name for you. Hold on a sec. Will this make me famous?
My boy, you won't be able to walk down the street without, what are you, into women, men? What? Well, it doesn't matter. You won't be able to walk down the street without everyone throwing themselves at you, pursuing you around every corner. Oh, fame is such a gift I wish to bestow upon both of you. Not as bright as my star, maybe, but you're a talent, Roshan. Wait, hold on. Right? Because, well, while this Leeroy is distracted, Mattie wants to talk to Ubo. And then she's gonna be like, do you know what acting is? Well, I saw Masoka do it when he was bad at fighting first, but then he showed he really was not.
Yes, yes, that is exactly it. You have to pretend to be bad at fighting. You have to not hit things. Ubo stops at that and looks at Garvey. Is she right? Do I have to be bad at fighting? Well, we can't actually hit each other on stage. I am afraid I'm not as robust a fighter as I'm sure you are. Strength just radiates off of you. But I can look good at fighting, but I won't really be fighting. Absolutely. That's the beauty of the stage. It's what separates a good actor from a bad one. It's giving a convincing performance, showing them your strength and your speed, your courage without ever having actually to put anyone else in danger.
Sorry, danger. Maddie, I should do this. If I do this, more people in Winterhaven will be more happy to see half-orcs and orcs. Okay. I just wanted to make sure you knew what acting was, that you don't hit on stage. We will practice a lot. Okay. So the entire time, Garvey's got his fingers kind of like not steepled together, but like he's doing this nervous like like like touching like he's anticipating an answer here. Fantastic. Of course we will practice. You can't have a stage performance. Oh go willy nilly. You must practice. The best performances are razor sharp.
They're practiced again and again. I will pack. One moment. No one, no one leave. I'm going to pack and and Blammon, Bam-bambon, Rambon. What was your name? I'm so sorry. Amven. Amven, my friend. We are going to speak with one of your contacts in the morn. And the entire time he is packing up his things. He is elated. Garvey, you will give me a way to act that will make people like orcs. Yes? He is going to wrap an arm around Ubo's shoulder. My boy, not only that, I think we found a rising star in the community. A hero. I hate to say this, but the days of me playing a convincing warlord or barbarian or noble knight might be behind me just a bit.
But you, you're a hero for a new age. A diverse looking creature that could really capture the imaginations of the people. Ubo like looks over at Maddie and smiles, like nodding at her. Okay, Maddie's glaring at this guy. I do not want to do this because of arc one, but I want to see roll an insight to see if this is really what he's going to do for kids. You know what? Do me a favor, roll an insight check. Wow, getting flashbacks. Haven't had to say that in a while. This seems on the level. Yep, this seems on the level to Maddie. Like he seems very excited and genuine about this entire thing.
I'm gonna, I still want to glare at him. Okay. So guys, I think that's a pretty good time for us to stop for the evening. Now that we're losing people. Yeah, Skype is on fire or something. I don't know. But yeah, that's a pretty good time. So next time we kick things off, you guys are going to Winterhaven and you made a friend. Love this. I just want to establish this at some point. Maddie's going to pull this fucker aside. Oh my gosh. Just so it's, we know that this is going to happen next time. Ubo's going to be a star. I already know what I'm going to say to him and it's not going to be nice.
And I just got my hands on front row seats for the best play ever. Yeah, no kidding. This is going to be great. Man, that was a lot of fun. Yeah. You guys, this is going to be the thing that rehabs the orcish image for the entirety of Winterhaven. I can feel it. It's going to happen. I was not expecting him to show up. I'll be honest. Oh man. You think Ubo is going to have like stage fright? Umm, no Ubo, if anything Ubo is going to overact. Yeah, I don't think that's a problem. This is going to be amazing. Oh, I love this. I live for this shit. This is going to be so cool.
Ubo just sees this as like, as like the like flexible diplomacy, right? Like this is his chance to like, oh man, like orcs are just like us, you know? Like, ah, they love culture. My fear is that he's going to use your not understanding the language to be like, okay, now you growl and then I will bash the sword over your head and then people will cheer. Like, he's going to make you into a monster. There may be some taking advantage of Ubo and so I'm counting on you as Maddy to... Yeah. Yeah, I mean with the whole Malkus thing, he doesn't exactly have a history of racial sensitivity.
Yeah. Well, and keep in mind, if Maddy like really discovers that this guy's doing something off the level and tells Ubo, Ubo's going to be super pissed. I mean, he's like... No, like seriously, the first thing I'm going to do is just pull this guy aside and roll an intimidation check and be like, listen here, fucker. If you do anything to make my friend look unkind or like a monster, I will kill you. Oh shit. Well, or I'll hurt you a lot. And in conclusion, let her monitor be with you. Yes, exactly. I just picture us doing the Final Fantasy 6 opera scene and then we're just like fighting in the dark at the end.
Dude, I honestly did not expect that to go that way, but I already have a thing in my head, like a big... Oh, it's going to be so cool. And then the octopus falls from the rafters. Oh, this is going to be good. Yeah. Good game. Good game. This was so good. You guys did great. Oh man, you guys have a great one and I will talk to you later. Bye. Have a good weekend.
