And Ian. Hey, I'm Ian and I'm going to be maining Mei. So, I got your defense, I got your stuns. I'm going to need your heals, though. I'm going to need all of your heals. Num num num num num. I like it. Fuck you, Ian. [laughter] So, Mei. Love Mei. Leave Mei alone. [laughter] Mei-bei. So, we discussed what happened last time on the show. And what we're going to do is we are going to pick up directly after the ritual and everything that happened with that. Right? And I'd like to start with... Kalvin, would you do me a favor? Give me a con save. Yes, sir. That's my baby.
There we go. Ooh, good good good good good good good. Whew! So, Kalvin's been through a lot here, right? I mean, everybody here has been through a lot. But in terms of the ritual itself, Kalvin's just going to be this side of conscious. Very, very drained. Going to start with one exhaustion, actually. Just to kick things off. Do you remember how last time we were here I said something about a rapid fire slideshow? Yes, yes I do. Okay. So, I want to tell you, just to kick things off, what you saw in your vision. So first of all, on Allura, you are going to see the undead.
Sort of dotting the landscape. It's going to be more of a feeling. Do you remember when Dagon had that bracelet and it was kind of pulling him towards the gate? Uh, yeah yeah yeah. Mm-hmm. Okay, something like that. Like, you're going to feel this in you. Closest is just outside of Donhurst, in that castle we were talking about. Big, undead presence. You're going to feel it to the west. You're going to feel it pull you. You're going to feel it far to the east on the east coast. You're just going to know. You're going to sense the presence of the undead and it's just going to kind of flow through you.
You're going to feel it. You would have also seen demons. Thousands of demons. Just, you're going to feel what they feel. Just this yearning to break free. That they're imprisoned. That they will do anything to escape, to get out. Like, constantly. Every second of every day they are pressing against the barrier. And if they had just a moment's chance, they would break free and just be kind of living amongst you guys. Thankfully, there's a barrier there to keep them from doing that. But that, just, you kind of get a sense of this responsibility. This feeling that that is what Vecna is doing constantly.
Is just kind of patrolling that. Making sure that things like what happened in Donhurst never happen again. And that's going to be tied to that bell that the party's holding. So Vecna is, Vecna is, the feeling is Vecna is trying to police the release of these demons? Keep them from getting released, yes. Just make sure that they are sealed away. Gotcha. Also that there is sort of a balance. Like, not all undead are terrible on the face of it. There can be good undead, but it's kind of a rarity. There is a balance to that type of thing. But you are going to, think of it, do you remember the movie They Live?
Oh yeah, the epic fight scene. Right, exactly. But it's that, it's like the moment where Roddy Piper puts the glasses on. Everybody who is under the age of 20, look this up. But the moment where he puts the glasses on and just sees this world that's been in front of his face the entire time but just couldn't see before. Like you were just going to feel that as you lay there. Just that the undead are omnipresent and walking among you, that type of thing. Oh, oh okay, I see. So it's sort of like, or correct me if I'm wrong, but there's a feeling of like maybe the shambling dead, but also this dead that just sort of like is pervasive among the living.
Is that correct? If I had to put it, okay, if I had to put it in different terms. Anyone who's ever been brought back from the dead, that type of feeling, you're going to feel that but much less. It's like they're not undead, it's just they technically cheated death. Vampires, any living corpse, zombie, anything like that. They're all going to give off a different feeling. Like obviously the stuff in that castle, that's definite vampire activity. Okay. Same thing with the stuff to the west, like you're going to feel that pull, it's like, oh wow, there's like you just can feel it.
Okay, so there's some like undead energies variants just sort of like in waves coming and some feel distant and some feel very close, but there's just a lot of like overload of this undead flavors sort of. Yes, basically it's almost like someone learning to smell, like they just they got the sense of smell for the first time, that type of thing. It's like holy shit, like it's an overload. Can I ask a question of the rest of the party? Everybody who was on the front lines here, how are you doing? How are you feeling after such an exhausting battle? Also seeing what you saw.
Yeah, I think Braylon would for sure, maybe do that thing where he's on his back completely on the floor, just like breathing really heavily and sarcastically, like over-exaggerating. Like a kid who's just finished crying basically. So Larg would have, after basically just watching whether it was or not, what he would have looked at as an act of God or act of a God, he would have basically just dropped his hammer, he would have dropped his shield, he would have pulled off his helmet and dropped that and pretty much just kind of fallen to his knees into prayer.
I think Tatiana would probably, because she was in the room with Cauldron when this all happened, she'd probably drop her weapons onto the floor and sort of like run to his side to make sure that he's like him. Yeah, and I think Cauldron is like very out of it. And I think he's sort of like looking up like thousand mile stare to where the sort of like beam was going and just watching or just like staring out there as like, I mean, as it's fading away or as it fades away into the night, like leaves some of that thing. And he's just going to be staring, sort of staring up at it with his mouth agape and his eyes just sort of like that.
Oh, I think too, can I add something? I think like on his arm now, his severed arm, where the arm of Vecna had appeared, now there are these sort of discolored veins creeping from the wound like up his shoulder, sort of like purplish colored, like you know the Lichtenberg scars, like people that get struck by lightning and their blood vessels get burned out basically. In a pattern under the skin. I think that's what he's got going on now is this like veiny purply vein sort of like creeping from that severed wound up to his shoulder. Hmm. One more thing.
There are two people here that I wanted to highlight. Not that everyone else didn't, but there are two people here that really risked, I feel like they really risked their ass here. Alana and Breland. I wanted to give you each an inspiration die. Nice. Wow. And I meant to do that at the end of the last session but gonna do it now. So just wanted to just wanted to let you guys know a personal pan pizza just for us a person. So it is getting on evening here is it's basically evening. It's still the 11th of yes. I guess what would you guys like to do at this point.
This day has been a nightmare. I kind of want to find out if we did it. Yeah, I think we should like look for people right. Yeah. Where would you like to start. Actually, I think Breland would sit up and look to Larg and Alana because they're on the ground floor with me right. And just be like, hey, I know we just finished, you know, saving the world and everything, but you think we can get some rest and he's gonna look like kind of his eyes can barely open. He's like got some sweat still dripping down his face from, you know, overexerting yourself and getting almost killed twice.
He's gonna look at Larg. What do you say big guy. So Jason, I've got an ability called Divine Sense, which per the book says that I can detect evil. Yeah. I'm assuming it doesn't quite work that way. No, evil is subjective. Okay. Nothing is just good or evil in theory for the most part. So, so it's a little more vague than it is in the books, right? Okay. So essentially, do you know how I ask people to do an Arkhanachek for like magic and it's kind of like a Geiger counter? Mm hmm. Essentially, you tell me what you'd be trying to sense and I would tell you if it's nearby to your character, that type of thing.
Like it's basically what your character would see as evil. Right. Okay. So having just gotten a really good look at what he would consider evil, Larg would basically kind of just like put his head up almost like he's sniffing the air and see if he could detect if there's any more demons or undead or anything like that in the area or if it seems like they're actually gone. So Larg's gonna concentrate on this for a few seconds here. And Larg's not gonna feel anything like that in the area. Okay. He'll sort of, he'll look back at the group and he'll nod. He says, "I think we did it.
I don't, they're all gone. I want to find everybody, but we, you know, we gotta, we gotta rest. So let's rest." Braille's gonna perk up. You think the inn's open? And kind of just hit like a sly smile. Larg doesn't get it. And then like, I think up in the tower, all these images are happening, like, Cauldron's seeing this thing and all of a sudden, like, he just snaps out of it and he does that thing where you like wake up like you can't breathe or whatever. Or like you gasp for air and he's like, "GASP!" And he like sees Tatiana and he just like looks at her and he like does a quick check around just to like make sure the like a mental checklist like they're in a safe place.
And he sees her. He just looks at her and says, "Did we, did we do it?" I think while Cauldron's like looking around and obviously anxious, she's going to definitely be trying to calm him down. It's okay. Everything's okay. You're okay. And then once he asks her if we were successful, she's going to sort of smile at him. And she's going to say, "Yeah, you did it. I can't fucking believe it, but you did it." He'll look up at her and he'll like grab her shoulder and just like look at her in the eyes and be like, "I saw everything. Demons. Vecna. I saw the dead.
Are you okay? The others? What about the others?" Everybody's fine. And I think her smile is going to quickly turn into a look of worry. And she's going to sort of like dart her eyes over to Callie and be like, "Callie, can you come check him out really quick? Everybody's fine. Cauldron, we all made it through." Yeah, and Callie's just kind of been like staring, kind of like when you stare off into space a little bit, but more specifically at the place where the Vecna arm was. And she's going to kind of snap out of it when Tatiana says her name and come over and just give Kaladin a brief look over.
But I mean, he said he was like, "Okay?" Like he doesn't look like danger? Well, mechanically he's not too dangerous. So I mean like once she does that, she's just gonna step back from Kaladin and just say, "I'm gonna go check on Brelin. He looked like he got hurt pretty good." And like run downstairs. And then he'll just like, call in a pat Tatiana. Like you'll see them all like fussing and he'll just sort of like shake his head a little and just like, breathe a little bit and try and give like a little smile and be like, "I'm okay. I'm okay. I'm glad you're okay too.
Let's go. We have to see if we brought anybody back." And he's gonna try and like, he's gonna put a lot of weight on her but try and like get himself up, basically. And she would definitely take on the weight for him. And she'll say, "Okay, just take it easy though. Whatever that was that just happened, I'm not 100% sure. But it looked hard and I can tell it was a lot on you. So just go slow." And she'll walk him down out of the guard tower. So let's say the party meets back up. It sounded like Callie wanted to maybe heal Brelin? Yeah, I love to just like, give him a Cure Wounds.
Yeah! I'm just gonna roll it because there's no like thing to target him. Yeah, I'll take care of it. Okay. And go. I only have little scratches now. Is Elena still hurt? I forget. Yes. Oh, do you want some heals too? Here you go. Have a Cure Wounds. That's an 8 twice? It's a d8 so that's max healing. Okay, so I add 11? No. No, I got you. Jason's gonna do it. I got you. That takes you down to 5 for wounds. You're good. You're doing pretty good. And then she's also gonna notice that Larg's a little beat up and so she's gonna come up behind him and just like slap him on the shoulder and give him a Cure Wounds too.
There you go buddy. Just do it. Oh, I'm sorry Larg. You scared him, that's why. The first two times exhausted. That's the problem. I'm just getting through that armor. Hey, it's better than nothing. That was the nicest anyone's ever slapped me. Alright, it sounded like you guys wanted to crash at an inn or is there, you know what, actually, I'm paving over some things. When the party gets back together. What would you guys? Is this the time for celebration? Are you just feeling exhausted? What would you guys be doing? I think Bralyn, as soon as he saw Calvin come down the stairs would like get up and run up to him and hug him like "Oh my god, you did it!" Yeah, and he would just like hug Bralyn so hard.
Well, as hard as he could I guess he's got. He's just like "Oh, I'm so glad you made it. I'm glad you all made it. That was, that was intense. That was incredible." Bralyn's gonna talk "Oh yeah, you know, I had to save these two. Not a big deal, you know, whatever. They're pretty good." He's gonna look back and wink. Did you get any good new scars? Oh, oh boy did I. I'm assuming these, the clickers, they did bludgeoning damage, right Jason? Well they got all along their forearm and down to their knuckles they have these little bony sharp protrusions. It's the only part of their body that's really sharp.
Picture like brass knuckles that are pointed. Okay, so I would say he's got little nicks along like his left side of his face almost like coming down from the upper cheek down to the chin on like one side. But like you know they're a little still go away but he's just like "Oh, check these out!" Oh yeah and Cullen is like "Those look, those make you look good, Bralyn. Those are handsome." I know right? This is gonna be awesome. And he's gonna show his arm and be like, like look at his new scar, his new weird things and be like "Looks like I got something too." His, Bralyn's face can change.
Whoa. Are you alright? That looks like poison man. Cullen grew a fucking arm! What? Where is it? Well I mean it's gone now but it was really cool. It's a shame you didn't keep it. I don't think I could. I don't think the owner of it would let me. Bralyn's gonna look really puzzled. It sounds like magic stuff. Yeah, Cullen will just be like "More on that later." Elena, I'm glad to see you. I'm glad to see you with some good scars too. I'm just happy you're doing okay. And then he'll look at Larg and be like, like give a really respectful nod. Larg, son of Donhurst, you fought incredibly to save this town.
So Larg is looking kind of literally back at Cauldron, like mostly at his arm. But he sort of, when he starts speaking to him he kind of snaps his attention back and he just nods and he says "Thanks." We've got to try and see if anyone's come back. It seems like the demons are gone but I don't know if the people have returned. What do you suggest? Maybe we should try checking places? I don't know. What's the mine look like actually right now? Or in the distance? Can we see? Is it still billowing smoke? The smoke's dissipated a bit. But yeah, it's still a thing.
You can still kind of see it off in the distance. It's not as prominent as it was before. Actually, if you do me a favor, give me a little perception check. Oh, those are always great. Ian, why don't you break them off with a little perception check. Let me break you off some of that. Let me break you off with some of this plus two wisdom. Yeah, I broke it. Oh no. Oh, there we go. Oh no! Gorgeous. Oh, and you know what? Well, I should be at disadvantage but I'm not going to get any worse than that. I was about to say, that's a one. Yeah, we're good. Yeah, never mind.
You're good. Yeah, that makes sense. That makes sense. That's a three total. So essentially, the only thing I'll tell you is you're going to notice that this, it got real quiet real fast. Because there was this cacophony of noise from the undead roaming around and knocking things over and rushing to your location. And it's just quiet. Jason, were the carcasses of the flesh golems? What's there? Did they get like evaporated? I mean, for both of them, what's left? They have ceased moving. And they are, they're there. If you were to take a closer look at them...
Ah, boy. They look fresh. Typically, if you're an adventurer, you have the chance to run into the undead. Zombies, things like that. And usually a zombie is a long dead corpse, something skeletal, something like that. These are not that. What they look like is healthy individuals that have been cut up and reassembled into these monstrosities. That sounds awful. So like they're dead, right? The ones on the carcasses, they're just like stop moving? Yeah. Brelyn's going to shudder a little bit as he looks at one. So now it's going to walk up alongside where Brelyn's standing.
And this time he is going to look for faces he recognizes. Yeah, that's what I was going to say. Brelyn's going to look at him like, "Hey, hey, big guy. Hopefully your friend isn't in here, but we should probably start looking at these things." Yeah, and he's super tense too. Like he does not want to look, but he's kind of stealing himself to look. Right. I'll help him. Even though I guess I'd ask your friend, what does she look like? Well, do me a favor and give me a perception with advantage. So you guys are investigating these bodies here. Larg, right?
Not me. Larg. Yeah. Ooh, okay. Well, while Larg would eventually kind of, there'd be a face or portion of a face, something like that, that he recognizes, you know, something like a fruit vendor or something like that, someone he's seen before. Nor, the faces, nor any of the body parts look like they belong to his friend. Okay. Does he notice anybody from the temple in general? No. Okay. So he'll kind of grimace a little bit and shake his head and look away and he'll say, "These are people from Donhurst, but I don't see Ellen. I don't see anybody from the temple." Brailen would talk to him like, "Okay, well, let's think about this.
Let's say you're in the temple. People start going missing some of these things, maybe start showing up in town. Where do you go?" They wouldn't run. They would have stayed to help. They would have stayed last. Brailen was going to look towards the semi-smoking minds again and said, "Always goes back to those same fucking minds." Can I ask a question really quickly? Sure. Tell me if I'm totally making this up in my brain, which is a possibility because I have been overtired for a while. But in one of our sessions in Donhurst, when we were trying to figure out where to go, was there a mansion type thing with a vampire lady in it?
Yeah, above Donhurst on the hilltops. Who figures that out? I don't remember if Tatiana was there for that or not. Did Lark tell us these places? I can't remember. You mentioned that he remembered it, but I don't think he would have mentioned that particular mansion out loud. But we can see it, right? Is it like Spooky Mansion on the hill or is it like... It's definitely Spooky Castle on the hill. Oh, castle. Not a mansion. Castle. Spooky Castle. Spooky Castle on the hill. AKA Castle Ravenloft. Great. I don't want to know. Okay. So I think Tatiana is going to ask Larg, "Well, is there anywhere that maybe some of the townsfolk and people from the temple would have taken refuge or..." I don't know.
Maybe I shouldn't say that. That sounds a little meta. That doesn't sound meta. No, it just sounds like, yeah, we're generally trying to figure out every last option. Yeah, I mean, Jason, that's something that we kind of... I feel like I asked something similar before, right? Like if there was no evacuation plan, really. Right. There wasn't... Not for this. Like for attack or something like that, it's basically, you know, try and get the defenseless people to safety, barricade them in, that type of thing. But how do you prepare for something like this? I will say you were in the midst of investigating the church, but things kind of chased you out.
Yeah. Right. That's what I remember is a couple of sessions ago, it was like, where would they have gone? Oh, probably the temple. And then we kind of went there and a bunch of stuff happened. First time was the Tatiana getting attacked, and the second time was the flesh guys. Yeah. Okay. Cullen's gonna say, though, like, I think Brelin might be onto something, though it might be worth looking into that mine. It could be safer now that the demons are gone. I think we need to look, but I think if there is something in there, everybody's tired. Maybe sleep first.
It won't be good to find them if we can't defend them. Cullen's gonna like look toward the gate to that end of town, but he'll just nod his head and say, you're right. You're right. We do have the Fang coming, though. Let's not forget that. Brelin's gonna like sigh really exasperately. Oh, God, those fuckers. I forgot about them. He's gonna rub his head. Well, you guys got a choice. You can bed down for the night, which it sounds like you guys are leaning toward. You could explore further or you can get out of here. Can I pitch something to the group? I think we should explore a little more.
Just see if it's... poke our... dip our toe in and see if it's safe, maybe. Break a little piece off of that exploration. But if it's a no-go, then no. Yeah, I mean, I think no matter what, we should probably rest now, but Elena's also sort of interested in seeing what's in the mines now that supposedly the demon living under it isn't there anymore. I think we could take a short rest. During this time we're deciding, we could sit around the tower, at the base of the tower, and gather ourselves with a short rest. Oh, yeah, that's a good idea. We could just spend some time.
I don't think I get my stuff after short rest, but everybody else gets their stuff back, right? I just get one spell slot, that's it. Oh, balls. Hold on. Let me check mine. I mean, even still though, that's a good idea. We could just take a short rest, catch a breather here, now that we have a sec, and then maybe check the mines. Yeah, because character-wise, I feel like we wouldn't want to just rest immediately. We'd want to look around more, right? I'm not trying to talk for everybody, but I know even though Brailin's got no spell slots left, he would still want to look around.
If there's people who can be saved, we should do what we can. Well, to put it in terms of not mechanically, but to put it in terms of just imagine you guys have been through this big traumatic event, everybody's exhausted, but that doesn't mean that you feel safe. It's like, "Hey, let's go to sleep now." Sure, sure, sure. Yeah, exactly. I mean, I would vote, yeah, I guess I'd vote for short rest, like catch our breath, get our gear cleaned up, or everyone who stabs something gets their gear cleaned up. Or pick up your arrows if you shot, and you don't want to lose your arrows.
I'll pick up all my sorcerer points that drop out. I'll pick up some teeth that I lost to put them back in my mouth. So let's say that you guys take an hour, basically, you're just resting, you just need a few minutes, right? You just need to get your shit together. And let's say in that time, you all catch up, you kind of do that thing. It's like, "Holy man, can you believe when this happened?" That type of thing. You're just catching up. I would imagine Kaladin catches everybody up on what he's seen and experienced and felt. And I would imagine everybody on the front lines is telling Kaladin, "Dude, this was fucked.
This thing came out of there." You know, that type of thing. Oh, yeah, yeah. Total info dump. Kaladin will try and... Sorry, go ahead. I was gonna say he's gonna exaggerate. Like, "There's fire! And Kaladin threw this fire, but it didn't work. And there's more fire. This thing jumped out and tried to bite Elena. And then Lark totally killed it. And he saved me and he touched me, gave me health, but then I lost it again." I always like it when Braelyn tells the story. It's always better that way. But it's actually, time is gonna march forward. How do we spend these hit die?
Does anyone need to spend hit die? I don't think... I could spend one. I'm good. I'm on pack to four. Nice. I guess, I mean, I'm missing three, but how important everything is to me, or like, you know, how little I have, I should probably spend one. Yeah, you probably should. Yeah, okay. See? Look at that. Nice. Excellent. Oh, fuck it. I'll spend a hit die. You're missing one point. I know, but, well, there we go. Oh, man, I keep forgetting your constitution is so freaking high. It's pretty high. It saved me in the beginning. Oh boy, who knows what happened. So, time's gonna march forward here, and I would imagine you all gonna get back out there?
Mm-hmm. Am I hearing correctly the mines? That's where you wanna go. I mean, Braelyn would defer to Larg, because this is his town, this is his city. Yeah, yeah, same with Cauldron. Yeah, Larg would have spent most of that break just kind of like, watching in that direction. I think it's time to go to the mines. Alright, let's do it. So, after time, you're gonna approach these mines. Now, the entrance is large enough for all of you to walk in side by side. This is pretty large. And the ground is just going to start to slope down immediately. I guess my question would be, how would you like to approach this?
The smoke would have dissipated by now, for the most part. I guess Larg would just light up a torch, and sort of take point and start walking in. If Tatyana will allow it, Cauldron will probably, not as heavily as before, but will still be leaning on her, like... Yeah, for sure. You're gonna see bodies. More of these ghoulish, terrible golems. Tons. Tons of them. Hundreds. And I'm guessing, I'm just going to, I don't want to put words in your mouth, but I'm guessing that you're checking them out to see if you recognize anybody. Yep. On the way. And again, every once in a while there will be a face, or partial face that you recognize, or article of clothing, something like that, but they're townsfolk, not for the temple.
And then you're gonna, you are going to recognize... Mox. A hole. Not one of these golems, but definitely dead. It looks like they were kind of shredded a bit. Partially bludgeoned, partially. Yeah, it's nasty. Well, they'll definitely point out Mox to the group. And say, "That's him. Whatever he's after, I don't think he found it." And this is, you guys have traveled for a while to get to this point, just, it's deeper and deeper. And there's going to be a smell that hits you. Obviously smoke, you would smell that, but you're going to reach a point where it looks like there was some sort of explosion.
Like there was, you know, a fair amount of explosives went off in this general vicinity. And you're going to see whole bodies in the hundreds. And if somebody would like to give me some sort of investigation check, I would very much appreciate it. I would do it. Because I'm a halfling, I'm curious. The, um, it looks like some people may have died in this explosion. It also looks like this was either set off by accident or desperation. Maybe some sort of attempt to seal this off. That didn't work, obviously. The smell. That's a little different. It doesn't smell like anything you've ever encountered before.
Kind of like bog water and brimstone and a couple of other things mixed together. But it's definitely getting thicker the further you travel in. And I'd say the entire party is smelling it. Can I, could I do a arcana or maybe a history check on like rituals or like magic or something to see if I recognize this particular scent, this brimstone? Maybe... You could definitely give it a shot. It would be a pretty high check because it's kind of tough to pinpoint a smell. Okay. And I've got disadvantage, so we'll try it. I'm gonna say no. Like nothing would spring to mind.
The best I'd say is, you know that supposedly there either is or was a demon down here. And considering you haven't really picked up a smell from any of these other ones, I mean, you know, they smell, but not like this. This is just filling your nostrils type of thing. This would be something of some size. Would you guys like to go further in? Can I like rip off a piece of my cloak somewhere and use it as like a handkerchief bandana thing? Sure. I don't know if that'll help at all. Sure. It'll block some of that smell. Yeah, I'll do that. Oh, that's a good idea.
Yeah, Cullen will just like put his face into the crook of his arm. If you guys go further in, a little ways down this path, it's going to open up a bit. And I would like someone to give me a perception check, please. Um, okay. Okay. Yay, Luke. That makes sense. That makes sense. Again, checking these bodies along the way. No friends. I'll put it that way. However, there was going to be this viscous black ooze coating the walls of this cavern. And it's going to stretch far up. We're talking, you know, 15, 20 feet up, that type of thing. It's going to drip down in sections.
You're going to hear it like just kind of a bloop, kind of a slime. And putting the pieces together. This is most likely where the demon was. And you can kind of see claw marks on the walls and things like that. But I mean, it's massive. If it were standing in front of you right now, it looks like it had a hard time fitting in the cavern itself. And again, we're talking, you know, 20, 25 feet up at its greatest height. And it was probably squeezed in here. And there's just this like residue? Yep. Of where I left? Oh, that's cool. So big hunkin' demon. There's not a lot to go on, so I'll understand if you don't allow this, but is there any way I could check what demon this might be?
Like if it is a named demon or something like big old demon, black ichor, bad smell, and possible location? I'd let you do history or religion. Okay. But again, the check would be pretty high. Yeah, let me break you off some history. Ew, not good. If it does have a name, you either haven't heard of the specific demon or you haven't, it's just eluding you right now. I will say this. There's a lot of evidence in this opening here that you're going to find that it was eating people by the fistfuls. Is that just information Colin would know because he's the one checking in or Larg?
I would say Larg saw it. Okay, if you walk in... It's poop. It's poop. Well, I'd say you'd see pieces of bodies. They were clearly either bitten off or something like that. There's evidence everywhere. You'd all see it. And I don't know if it's something you'd vocalize, but I think everybody in the party would know. I think Colin will just say, "I'm so sorry, Larg." So Larg's just kind of standing there, kind of flexing his hands and kind of clenching and unclenching his jaw. Not really looking at anything. And he'll kind of turn to the rest of the group and say, "This can't be everybody.
We can still find them." Brandon's going to look around. Is there any more chambers down here, Jason? Or is this just the end of the mine? This is pretty much the end of the road. Okay, then Brandon's going to look around and kind of walk up to Larg and be like, "Well, I mean, where else would they go? This looks like the last stop." Maybe somebody got out. Maybe somebody left another way. He's going to turn and make like he's going to start to leave the mine to look. Brandon's going to look like he's going to say something and then stop as he sees him turn and be like, "Alright, man.
Take us where you think they might be, big guy." He's going to have this kind of apologetic smile, but at the same time just kind of making sure he gives Larg the conch, I guess, like the go-ahead. You're leading us still. So he's going to leave the mine unless somebody tries to stop him and he's going to start looking. He doesn't know how to track, but he's going to try to track. He's going to look for any footprints that look like they're leading away from the city. Hmm. Would everybody else be joining Larg? Yeah, I follow him. Cullen's just kind of along for the ride, to be honest.
I guess he would probably say something like, you know what, he would probably say to Breland, like, "Breland, let him go. Let him see if he can find any bit of life. We can go back to the temple. Maybe we can look there. Maybe we can take a rest, too. We have to figure out what we're going to do about the fang. And if he finds something, then we'll all go with him." Breland's going to look at Larg. I guess we're all walking at this moment, but he's going to look at Larg as he's walking ahead of the group and look back at everyone and he's going to see everyone's face.
I assume we're kind of in semi-light. So he can see Cauldron looking exhausted. Elena, I guess you're not injured. No one's really injured anymore, but everyone has that face of like, I guess, tired, right? Like, fatigued. It is, um, it has been a very long day. Yeah. Okay. So he's gonna look at that group and look back at Larg who's just walking and say, "Yeah, it's just, you know, when I see how, uh, when I see how ambitious this guy is, he reminds me of somebody and I don't want to let him down." And he kind of smirks a little. So let me ask a question.
That sounds like you guys are maybe thinking about splitting up. I don't know. We could. What, like, um, what do you guys think? I mean, it doesn't sound like Larg really has a destination right now. He said he was going to look to see if there's tracks going outside of town, but we don't know if he's going to find any or not. So I don't know that we're necessarily splitting up. Well, that's kind of what I'm thinking is like, because it's just going to be like dragging Cauldron around, you know? Like literally. Yeah, so like he's not going to be much good.
Um, but, uh, and I don't want to, like, I don't want to slow down everyone. So if maybe we like to decide to meet at the temple, if Larg finds anything, um, and we could go from there. That's probably a good idea. Yeah, I like that idea. We don't all have to go, but yeah, like, Cauldron's pretty useless right now, so. Same Zeus. So how about we do this? How's about, uh, majority of the group seems like they're going to chill at the temple, because that seems like it's been home base so far. Larg, let's have you roll here. Um, let's have you roll a survival check.
See how good you are at tracking. Not bad. Not bad at all. So that's a 19, everybody at home. Larg's going to strike out here and just checking inns, checking, um, checking bars and shops, just, just checking establishments. He'll be, uh, he'll be calling out to, like, he'll be trying to, like, if anybody's alive or anything. Something strange that Larg's going to notice is that a lot of these footprints... A lot of those tracks were leading back to the mine. And they don't look like... it doesn't necessarily look like they were being, you know, dragged against their will or something like that.
It almost looks like they were marching in voluntarily, for whatever reason that might be. Other than that, Larg's not going to find any, any people. No one's going to respond. A couple of animals here and there. You know, the occasional cat, something like that. But other than that, no real signs of life. How long does this, um, does this take him? Let's say you were out there for an hour or two. Let's say two. Okay. Alright. So, is there anything anybody else is doing while he's doing that? I was going to say, Cal, you'd probably go check on the horses. That is a good idea.
I think, I think Brelyn would go with her, because he likes the horses. He's the one seeing bad amtoim. Well, uh, you will be happy to know that the horses are fine. Thank God. Oh, Tesla. You scoundrel, you. Kicking me. Right where you left them. Everything's, everything's just fine. Let me do a thing. Okay. Good for you, bad for us. Let's get back to the temple here. For a moment. That was a 20. That's for me. Yeah, I want, I want to do one thing in the temple while we're waiting for everyone. Sure. So, Kalden will go, while they're like resting with Tatiana and everything, Kalden is going to go to the window that we, that he smashed out with his crossbow and start picking up the pieces, like the bigger pieces of it and putting them in his palm and putting them to, like using his magic to like mend them together.
And I'm going to cast mending on the, on this window so that for the most part, like it, it fills with as much of glass as he can. And it's like filled in with just sort of like sparkly ice cracks around where you would like solder glass and stuff and where there isn't glass bits, there's like pieces of ice that sort of like catch the light and reflect it where, where there, where he can't have glass. Okay. Is everyone meeting back at the temple? Yeah. Yeah, I would, I would say that's where we would go back. Yeah. Well, let me ask a question here. Larg.
Mm hmm. How would Larg be, if Larg came back to the temple, like how would Larg be feeling? What would, how would that manifest? Like, would he look angry? Would he look sad? You know, desperate? How would it look? So I don't, I don't think Larg would have come back to the temple. At least not within like an hour or two. If he wanders around and he explores everywhere and he looks everywhere and he doesn't see anybody and he sees that the only tracks he does see are leading toward the mind. I think the next thing that would occur to him to do would be to start collecting all of the bodies that aren't already in the mind.
And he would start dragging them to it. That includes the big flesh golems too. Oh. Is this in an effort to seal this off or just put everything in one place? Yeah, he's just, he's, he's, he's gonna do something with his hands right now. So he's collecting, he's getting everybody together. Got it. Town meeting. Oh, town meeting. The rest of the party in the temple. Are we just trying to rest, kick back, just kind of get your bearings? Or are you doing anything in the temple beyond mending that window? I... Oh, go ahead. No, you go. I was gonna say, I think Calli would want to explore it.
See like, if there is any like maybe a hidden room or something that people could be barricaded in or something. Okay. I don't know if anybody wants to do that with me. Sure. Doesn't. No. Okay. Okay. So, Calli, do me a favor, give me an investigation check with advantage. Okay. Nice. Excellent. Oh, wow. That's just a flat. Yeah. So that's a 17. Here's something interesting. If you're going through people's rooms, there's going to be several rooms in this place. It looked like there were a lot of clerics living here. It's a fairly large, it's a fairly sizable temple.
A lot of people have their belongings kind of sitting there and clothing and stuff. There are going to be two rooms, though, that look to be semi-packed in terms of clothing. Looks like they're going to be missing a lot of things, missing some personal effects, stuff like that. But it's clear that someone was still living there, you know? And one of them is going to belong to an e-sable. I would say if you put two and two together, it might be something you want to run by Larg. So, okay. So, do the other rooms, they look just like normal and then these rooms look like half gone?
Yeah, like, like, maybe they were like the kind of thing where it's like, oh, we're planning for a long trip, that type of thing, which is not out of the ordinary for clerics if you're going on some sort of mission or something like that. Someone needs help. But they're clearly, they were still living there. A lot of personal effects are still sitting in the room. It doesn't look like it was packed in a hurry. It doesn't look like, you know, drawers are left out or something like that. It's like, oh, let's stuff a bunch of stuff in and run. Time and attention was taken here.
So I guess she'll just turn to Tatyana and be like, we should, I think this is Ellen's room. We should go let Larg know. It looks like maybe she was gone before all this happened. Wow. Okay, should we grab him now? Yeah, he's just like, out there dragging bodies around. So I think he's still looking for her. Okay. I think that they would probably rush out to get Larg so that he isn't as worried about his friend. Yeah. Are you, is Larg dragging them or actually carrying them with some sort of respect? Well, that's a good question. If he could find a wagon or a wheelbarrow or something like that, he'd probably be using that.
But otherwise, yeah. Yeah, I don't think that would be hard to find. Yeah, so he's probably got a cart or something dragging it behind him. Okay. So Callie will just approach him and Larg, we were investigating in the temple and it looks like we found Ellen's room. It said E Sable. And he'll stop what he's doing and go, yeah. It doesn't look like she was here when this happened. It looked like she packed a bag, but not in a hurry. So maybe she took a trip? That makes sense. I mean, there's a lot of people here and he'll gesture toward the cave. But it's not everybody.
She must have got the rest out. They must be out there somewhere. He would nod like that and kind of makes sense in his head. Like that explains it. Do you think they would go far? Maybe they went to the next city. I don't know. But, you know, it's good. What's the nearest city? What is the nearest city? You found my map. I was literally just looking for mine. Let's see there. Everyone looks over to the scary castle on the hill. Other than the castle on the hill, it's good old Burnhollow. I was going to say, yeah. Yeah, I believe during hollow. Maybe during hollow kind of shrug feeling like.
OK, well, that's good. Maybe she got everybody out. There's an awkward silence while they're all like standing around this dead body. And Kelly is like, do you want to take a rest? It's been a long night. It just like what time at night is it right now? It's it's getting up there evening wise. We're talking like 10, 11, somewhere in there. OK, yeah, no, he'll shake his head. He said, no, you all you all can rest and I want to finish this before before tomorrow. And he kind of smiles. He's like, it's OK. They're OK. And he goes back to it. Hey, Tatiana. Yeah. Could you do me a favor and roll a perception check?
I would love to do you a favor, Jason, as long as, you know, favor for favor is usually the protocol there. 18. You know what? You did me a favor. I'm going to do you one. Oh, yeah. I'm going to tell you all about the voices that are carrying. It's going to start very, very subtly, almost. Did I hear that? That type of thing. Oh, no. But sure as it is nighttime, you're going to hear yelling. Lots of it. It sounds like a lot of people. Are shouting at one another. Somewhere in the city, it's sort of reverberating. It carries. You're in a big open space like this and it just you can you can hear it's the most populated the city has sounded since you got here.
Can I sense a specific direction that it's coming from? Well, if you had to put a direction, it would be back where the front gates are. Shit. And it's it's really tough to pick out a specific voice in the crowd, because if you had to guess, it sounds like dozens of people. OK, I think Tatiana would sort of veer away from the conversation with Larg and sort of like walk towards the noise and she'll just sort of turn back. Do you guys hear that? And I think at that point it will click in her head. Oh, that's right. The thing we're on their way. They were right behind us.
And she'll quickly. Look at Callie and just say. Shit. That's got to be the Fang. Oh, we we we got to go, right? I mean, it sounds like there's a lot of them. So, yeah, Larg, this is going to have to wait. We've got to go and she'll probably try to grab him and like pull him towards the temple to get called in. Braelyn and Elena. Well, I don't get it. Who's the Fang? Not so nice people. And there are a lot of them. We will fill you in once we get the group, but we got to go. Yeah, he'll let himself get pulled. A little bit of time later, you're going to get back to the temple.
And what I like to do is lovely people at the temple. Could you roll a perception check in the meantime while they're traveling? Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Oh, hey, that's pretty good. Yeah. Everybody but Elena is going to pick this up. You're going to hear voices. And at first I would imagine that you're like, oh, you know, our friends are coming back. But that's way too many voices. Like off off the bat, you're going to realize, oh, shit, that's way too many voices. And minutes later, Cali, Tatiana and Larg are going to get back to the temple. These voices sound like they are closing in and you're going to start to hear distinct, distinct voices shouting.
There's going to be, you know, some of them are going to be talking amongst themselves. Some are going to be shouting, you know, check that room, check here, check that type of thing. Commands like spread out, search the city. As soon as Cauldron sees Tatiana, he's going to he's going to hear this and see her come in and he's just going to say, the fang, the fang, they're here. I know we've got to go. Where do we go? Do we hide? Do we run? Can we get to the horses at all? Aren't they at the front gates? Mm hmm. Is there another way out other than the front gates?
Front gates are it. Brandon's going to look at the stained glass window. Well, we can undo Calvin's work. He just he just immediately smashes it. Joking. I think we need to be a little more quiet than that. Do we have to Han Solo this? I don't know what that means. I haven't seen the new Star Wars stuff. This is from the last one. The new hope, baby. The original Millennium. Oh, but he just got I do all I know about all that I remember behind. So I was like, oh, are you talking about the wedding? No, that was just Leia. Wait, don't worry. You're going to overheat again, Valerie, and then we're going to wait for you to reboot.
It's going to be terrible. Yeah. What about that? What do you like is hiding an option or should we just fucking book it? Well, OK, let me tell you the situation right now. You're going to hear those voices, but it sounds like they might be a couple of blocks away from the church. So it's not even unfathomable that you could get out the front door and go somewhere. But you don't have much time at all. It doesn't sound like. All right, let's sneak out. But Brandon's going to look at Lark. You think you can be a little bit quieter than normal big guy is going to tap on his arm.
So large kind of just kind of standing at the front door and basically blocking it. He's going, wait a minute. You guys just fought an army of demons with with no problem. And you're worried about the thing, whatever that is. Brandon's going to talk to them. Just look. Hold on there. All right. Yes. Handful of demons. Scary. Pretty terrible. But a hundred guys, maybe more. That's not about how strong they are. It's about outlasting them. And I'm already kind of pooped. They're here for the bell, so we can't like leave that here. We need to go. This is the first place they're going to come looking for that.
Lark makes a good point, though. Their plan was to, at least according to Ripley, was to infiltrate and come into the city so that they could gain control of the bell and then gain control of the gate if they couldn't get it by subterfuge. If there's just a few of them out there, we might be able to take them. And then we could get on the horses and flee from the city. But there's not a few. I heard a few dozen voices. We're exhausted. We need to go. What if we go back in the mine? It still smells. It's still creepy. That might deter them. Cauldron shakes his head and he's like, "One way in, one way out." We fought a battle like that.
It did not go well. Lark, is there anywhere in the city that we could hide and they would not find us? It's kind of Shrugga's shoulders. Wine cellar, maybe? I don't know. Well, wherever it is, it can't be in the temple. We do need to leave here. Jason, can Braelyn look out the front door and check to see how far they are and sneakily try and count what he can see? Sure. What do I need to do for that? I'm not even going to ask you to roll a stealth check yet. Okay. But give me a Perception. My favorite! That's not bad. That's not bad at all. 16. So you are still going to hear those voices, like, cracking the door to peek out.
You're not seeing anybody yet. But it does sound like at least a couple of dozen, maybe more. And you're not exactly sure how far they fanned out. If they're by the front gates, there's a lot you don't know. You do know that you don't see them yet, which means they can't see you yet, most likely. Okay. I'll look back to the group. We gotta go. We gotta go now. Alaina will walk out of the temple, sort of look to her side and say, "What about that castle?" And as she points, the camera pans over to it and the music plays. Dun dun dun! The lightning strikes and bats fly.
And then Lark will say, "There's vampires in that castle." Lark will say, "But don't, though." But maybe not. Does it really say vampires or no? Yeah, it'll say it. Alright, brilliant. Eyes go wide. What? Oh yeah, there's like a really old vampire in there. I don't think that's a better idea. Cauldron will look at everyone and suggest Mox's house, where we found the bell. It was hidden under the floorboards. We might be able to hide there. They certainly won't be looking for it there. Best idea ever so far. Yeah. Hopefully they've already checked his house so they won't check it again.
That's like that's in the middle of town, though. It is. If I may, I could give you a few options that you you may not have thought of yet. Yes, please. So the way this is laid out right now, you guys are far enough away from them that you do have some sort of option. Now, the way Donhurst is laid out, think of it like a city that's also kind of a fortress. That wall, the big 20 foot wall surrounds the entire city. Now, while there might not be a front gate, that does not necessarily mean that you can't get out. It just would take effort. You could scale the wall at some point in the city where they aren't.
You could you can definitely hide. There are tons and tons of abandoned buildings. Like Lark said, there are wine cellars. There's there's there's all kinds of places to hide, but you run the risk of someone finding you. And even though they are fanned out, they could call for help, something like that. If you were to be found, the mines are another option, like Elena brought up because they might not check them. All this is basically going off of how diligent do you think they are going to be? How motivated do you think the Fang is in finding this spell?
OK, hear me out. I think if we find someplace to hide, like a wine cellar or something, we can hide down there and. They're going to with luck, they're going to see that the that the bell's not in the temple and be like, I don't know, something weird's happened here. There's a bunch of dead bodies and shit. Let's get out of here. And if someone does come, they're going to be split up. So there might be one or two. We can take them out. Silence them. Very true. I mean, we could do that or Tatiana and I are good at like climbing or like being ninja like. I'm assuming.
Yeah. And the wall's only 20 feet high, right? Mm hmm. Scaling a building, getting us up on the rooftops is a good option because they can't if we're covered enough, they won't be able to. They're not going to look up. They're looking for a bell. Right. I think we have more cover on the roofs than we do in the streets. But the problem is getting up a building and then getting from building to building like Batman. I don't think all of us could do that. Yeah. Somebody in the watchtower, though. Yeah, that's true. You're going to have to help call into because he is all one arm.
Yeah. So climbing, not so great for him. OK, OK. I'm but I'm for the first to do. How do you spot sounds good. How do you move it? I think moving through the city is the first thing we need to be doing. I think I have an idea for moving through the city. OK. I'm pretty good stealthy wise. I mean, I'm a rogue, so that's kind of obvious. Braylon, if I remember, you're pretty good at stealth wise. I'm OK. Yeah, I'm I. So you also have invisibility. So if one of us. Well, my dear friend, I have no more spell slots. So I'm tapped out of invisibility. Just kidding. I was like, one of us can be invisible.
Oh, I would cause so much mischief if I could. Well, OK, so maybe best idea right now is to find a place to hide. And Lars got to lead us to wherever that is. Yeah. He thinks that the best places. Yeah. Well, you know what? Here's what we're going to do with that. We spent too much time talking. No, I like the problem solving within reason. I want Larg to make an intelligence check. So this is Larg's ability to just, OK, I'm going to think back and I'm going to try and remember a good hiding spot. That's not terrible. I love that it's minus one. That's great.
He actually puts his finger on his temple and goes to think. So there is a bar. So the soft hound does have a pretty expansive basement and the door could probably be barricaded. And that might buy you some time. That's going to be the best place that Larg can think of. The problem with that is that anybody checking places is probably going to check the basement, probably. And the best thing I got. So he'll, you know, tapping his temple and he'll go, the soft hound, and he'll just start walking. He'll turn around. Come on. Yeah, I guess we go following. Limping along.
OK, so I just rolled another d20 and that's to see how quickly the Fang is going to sweep through the city and really start checking places here. And that's a 19. How are they so effective now? I call hacks. Shenanigans. And the reason that they are so effective is that there's a lot of them. Yeah. There's a hundred, you'd guess, based on the noise that is going to accompany them, because they're not doing this quietly at all. You can basically hear where they are at all times and you're going to hear them start to close in as you get to the soft hound and get to the bar here.
Now, once you're inside, are you just running to the basement? The cellar, if you will? There's no second floor in here? No. OK, yeah, I'll go in the basement. As we're going down there, once Elena realizes that this is a bar, she's going to say, are you kidding me? These guys love to drink. Of course they're going to come here. Brelin's going to stop. Yeah, we probably should have thought about that first. We don't exactly have time now, so I guess we have to just keep going. How close are we to Mox's house? A little far away. OK. Anything else, Larg? Maybe we do get on the roof.
You look around and you're like, I thought if somebody comes in, we give them a bonk and then we're OK. No? OK. I don't know. Is there in this immediate vicinity of five buildings, is there a building that's super nondescript that we might be able to duck into? There's a lot of residential. There's a lot of people's houses and stuff like that. And again, it's going to take them time to sweep through and check every single building. They're kicking doors off hinges and stuff like that. They're just breaking into places looking. Where you are at in the city is sort of outer rim.
So the only other thing that you're next to is more the back wall of the city. On the other side of that is kind of a forested area. Like if you were to hop it, it would essentially just be a field and then the back half of the divide. But everything inside right now is just buildings. It's just empty buildings. So he'll point at the bar. He'll go in there. He'll point at the house next to it. In there. And then he'll point at the wall. Over there. What about your house, Larg? Did you stay at the temple? Yeah, we just left my house. I feel like he would say it like that.
Brandon would nod his head yes, of course. All right. I don't know. I kind of feel like the house. I don't know. Let's do the house. House? Yeah. I'm like, let's do the house. We don't have time for this. Everyone cool with that? Yeah. Yeah. All right. So there's a house just across the way here. It's a nice little two story, very modest home. There's going to be a bedroom on the second floor that would be large enough that everyone could could hunker down and stay there. Now, the one thing that you have on your side is the element of surprise. They don't know that you're here.
They don't know that anybody's here yet. So keep that in mind. If you were to look out the window of this bedroom, I'm guessing you're closing doors behind you, things like that. Yeah, I was going to say when everybody goes in, Larg is going to shut the door behind everybody and then basically stand with his back against the wall, kind of behind where the door would open. You know what I mean? So like if the door opened, he would be still behind the door. OK. And that's where he's going to hide. OK. And wait, Cauldron will be like, Larg, no. Leave the door open.
OK, he'll open the door again and look confused, but do it. They won't want to check what they think may already have been checked. Oh, OK. Should we move stuff around and make it look destroyed in here? I say we just go upstairs or something. Just hide in the closet, all of us. Is it in your attic? No attic, just a second floor. Oh, thank God. Oh, painful, painful memories coming back. So if you look at the window of this establishment, you're going to see about 10 of these grimy, leather clad guys walking down the street here, and they're going to quickly gravitate toward that bar.
Trunks. Among them, Callie. No. Recognize a face. No. A gentleman named Trent is in the crowd. Callie throws up in her mouth a little bit. Can we smell him from here? She smells him first. I was going to say, she like remembers the smell, so she gets like whiplash from like trying to like put her face away. Do me a favor, Callie, roll a perception. Just for me. So a few of these fanguys are going to, it looks like they're taking a break almost like it's like, oh, bar, awesome, that type of thing. And they're going to go in and they're, Trent's going to hold up a hand like, no, thank you.
And sort of stand on the, sort of stand in the middle of the road here and look back and forth. And he's going to investigate one of these houses. And here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to roll a flat D20. I love it. On a 15 or higher, he's going to enter the house that you're currently in right now. Why? I love that he's had like a bad night. So he like, you gave him that shit and he's like, no, I'm not drinking. I reformed him. I have to pop out and be like, oh my God, Trent, what are you doing here? Are you ready? No. No. Yes. This is all your fault, Valerie.
What? What did I do? You're saying it's right. Huh? Oh, because I made him right. You sure? Yes, because he's my son. Dun dun dun. You're going to watch Trent hold up a hand like, no, no, thank you. And then he's going to stand in the middle of the road for a minute and just look at the rest of these houses. And he's going to notice that the door is open in the one nearest him across the street. Damn it. I thought that would work. And he is going to slowly start making his way over to that house. We need to hide. There's somebody coming inside. He's going to call the NODS and looks for a hiding place.
Or maybe Larg, do you want to grab him? What do you want to do, buddy? Larg is still behind the door. So whoever comes through that door is getting grappled. Should we? It's Trent. He's like one of their leaders. So they might miss him if he goes missing. He's not a leader, please. Okay, here's what's going to happen, y'all. Callie- Wait, hold on. Did Alayna just say y'all? Yes. Or is it Valerie? No, that was Alayna. Okay. Callie, Trent's going to walk in here and you're going to walk down the steps as if you were expecting him. My God, yes. And you are going to give him the loving of his life.
While we all hide in the closet. And watch. This is taking a turn. He'll think he's hallucinating or something. Okay. You can save our lives. I'm really having a hard time differentiating. Or just distract him and let Larg beat him up. No, this is all Alayna. I know, but I want to punch you in the face so hard. Don't worry, Alayna's sword is right behind me. So just to be clear, Callie sees Trent coming in. Trent's coming, that type of thing. And Alayna suggests this. You have a split second to make a decision here. Is Larg going to grab him? Or is Callie going to grab him?
Yup, Larg's going to grab him because she ain't doing that shit. Okay, fair enough. Fair enough. Like when they suggest that her face is going to turn like beet red and she's going to shake her head no and she's going to go hide. Okay. So Larg's on the first floor or second floor? First floor, right outside the front door. First floor. Right inside the front door. Okay. Trent is going to... You're going to hear him standing like a little creek, like standing right outside the front door here, and he's going to stop and look around. And then he's going to walk into the building.
Now Larg's going to reach out and grab at Trent. Mm-hmm. Trent is not what I would describe as a big strong dude. Kind of spindly, kind of wiry, if anything, right? But Trent does get spooked kind of easily. So he is going to take in a big lungful of air and he's going to get ready and try to scream. Alright, well, part of the grab would probably be an attempt to cover his mouth. Mm-hmm. I kind of figured. But here's hoping... I mean, I feel like he's got a small head, so... I feel like you have large hands. Yeah, also. Yes. But to Larg, everybody has small heads.
So am I just making an attack here? Yes. Oh, no. Oh. I would say with that... Trent is going to be able to kind of wiggle-free here. And the first question out of his mouth is going to be, "Wait, who are you?" Not necessarily incredibly shocked, more like, "Oh, I wasn't expecting another person." That type of thing. So Larg will straighten up and he'll go, "Wait, who are you?" Trent's eyes are going to start to dart around the room. Wait. Wait, right here. I'm going to be right back. You stay right there. Larg is going to kick the door closed. Oh, shit. Okay.
Now you're going to start to see him panic a bit. He's going to swallow hard. Okay, so Larg is going to put up his hands, like in a very "I'm not going to hurt you" way. But he's going to kind of wiggle his fingers a little bit. And he's going to say, "I'm very big, and you are very small. If you make any noises, I will have to squeeze you until you stop." Still darting around the room, but he's going to start to understand his situation. He's going to say, "Okay. I have a lot of friends outside. So if anything happens to me, I'm a pretty important person.
And they're not going to take too kindly to it." I'm going to sense motive the shit out of that. [Laughter] Is he inciting it? Yeah. Oh, no. That sounds legit. He could be pretty important. That's okay. Because if you sit down right there and don't say anything, then I don't have to squish you. And nothing has to happen to anybody. So just sit down. And I'm going to intimidate. Ooh, okay. Let's hope this is a good roll. Oh, that's a pretty good roll. Trent's going to back up slowly. And he's going to look at the stairs. I'm not going to stop him from going up the stairs.
And I feel like he's going to start to slowly back up toward the stairs. So if he does that, it'll be like, "I'm not going to stop you if you want to go upstairs. But I will tell you, it will be worse if you go upstairs. Not smart." Trent's going to go ahead and sit down, like Lark told him to. He's going to think about it and... Okay. Okay. Okay. Not really. That's a good idea. So, um, you want to maybe tell me what happened here? Well, I was just hanging out in my house. And I heard people yelling. And here you are. So I would like to know why you're trespassing.
He'll say as if he just got a great idea. [laughs] Are you... are you serious? There's like nobody in town, right? You're the first person I've seen. Well, yeah, it was a really nice day. They said they were going to the beach. I didn't feel like going. He's going to start looking around the room again. [laughs] [sighs] Here's the thing. Do you want a drink? Do you want a sandwich? What can I get you? No, I'm good. I'm fine. I've got ham. You know my friends are going to come in here any second, right? Like, I'm not trying to intimidate you, but... I mean, they're searching the place, right?
Like, they're going to find you. So, you might as well just tell me... He's going to stammer and then just kind of like trail off. Like, okay, this is weird. This entire situation is weird. Like, well, if they find me... If you are really quiet, maybe they'll find both of us. Or, if you're not really quiet, they'll just find me. And I'm going to intimidate again if I can. Okay. Go right ahead. And he's going to take a step forward with that. Oh, okay. Yep, that's good. He's going to immediately raise his hands like, "Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay." "What do you want me to do?" So, I'm going to take another...
My hands are still out. Still out. Showing him palms. Take another step closer. And another step closer. Oh, he'll tense up. Okay. He's going to say, "Don't worry. It's not like anybody is going to sneak up behind you and tie you up or anything." "It's just you and me. And if you want... Ham." "I do like ham." "I really do." Jason, so can I be in a room upstairs? Like I said earlier, I don't want to interrupt this. That's why I typed it in there. No, I would imagine... It sounded like everyone was upstairs. Yeah, we're in the same room, right? Right. Can we hear this or no?
Oh, yes. Okay. I'm going to look at Cauldron when Lark says, "It's like someone's going to come behind you and tie you up." And I'm going to hand gesture like, "Should we go down?" My index fingers make a circle in front of each other. Like, "Should we go down there?" kind of thing. Yeah, Cauldron will give him a nod. I think Cauldron is picking up on these cues. And maybe this is something that him and Breland have done before. I would assume so. Breland will look at Tatyana and try to get her attention. I think Tatyana would look back at Breland and without saying anything, sort of give an annoyed look, but mouth, "What?" I'm going to hand gesture.
You, me, walk with a little two-finger walk downstairs. And make a hanging motion or a choking motion. I think she's going to put, I think she's going to facepalm. And she'll mouth, "Why?" He's going to shrug. Cauldron will try and mime, like... I'm trying to describe, I'm doing this, I'm trying to describe. So he's going to be like, make a bow, like tie him up, gag him, like put something over his mouth. He mimes that. And then he points to all of us. And then like, makes like fingers run away. Breland shakes his head up and down. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like nodding yes in agreement very rapidly.
Tatyana is going to have a look of disgust on her face and she's going to shake her head vigorously. No, no, no, no, no. What's happening with Larg? Yeah, I guess it's like that. Because like internally in her mind, if we tie this guy up and leave him here and try to run while there's still people patrolling, they're going to come find him and they'll know that we're in the town. They'll know that we're in the city. They'll know someone's in the town. He'll see us tie him up. Not if we knock him up. Well, we can't be talking about this, but never mind. I just didn't want to come off as being an asshole.
Like ruining you guys' ideas by saying no. It makes sense. But if we don't move, we die. Breland is going to just look at Tatyana and then Kaldun and just do a really big shrug, like over-exaggerate it, and then take a step outside the door sneakily. Ooh, do me a favor, roll a stealth check for me. With pleasure. Oh my god. You, sir, are a ghost ninja. Yes. Life goal achieved. So, Breland is going to slip down the stairs while Larg and Trent are having this little conversation. What would Breland like to do? You are positioned behind Trent. Okay. Hand crossbow, newly acquired.
Flip it backwards, so I'm grabbing it by the knot to handle. And I'd like to pistol whip him in the back of the head. Oh, man. Nice. So, if I can see him doing this, the second I see him flip it, I'm going to get ready to pounce on him the second he gets hit. To pounce on Trent, not Breland. Oh, I was about to say, you would kill me. You would squish me. Insta-death. Just belly flop both of them. The couch breaks. So this is interesting. I'm going to have you roll a flat d20. Ten or higher, you are going to knock him out. I'd like to use my inspiration for this.
Then do it. That's my boy. Good thing I did. You are going to wallop him in the back of the skull here, and Trent is going to go out. Breland's going to sigh. Alright, tie him up. Yeah, Lux got a length of rope. He'll give it to Breland. As soon as he hears this commotion, Colton's going to come down. He's going to give Tatiana a "Come on now." All the while, Tatiana's been hiding in the corner, rocking back and forth with her hands on her temples, whispering to herself, "We're going to die. We're going to fucking die. We're going to die." But she'll get up and go follow Colton down.
I guess I'll tie him up. Or with Lux's help if you want to help me tie him up. No, Lux is just going to stand there and let Breland do it. He's going to have his hands on his hips, standing there watching him do it, going, "Man, I didn't actually have any ham." I think Tatiana would say to the group, too, "If we're going to tie him up, put him in the closet at least, so that if they come in here looking for him, they don't see him right away." Breland will not. Good idea. He'll motion for Lark like, "Sir, please." Yeah, he'll just pick him up, put him in the closet, close the door.
So Trent is now tied up, gagged, placed in the closet. That still leaves the rest of the Fang closing in on this location and across the street on that bar. And that is where I think we're going to call things for this evening. I hate to leave you in this position, but... That was good. That was good. I hate you. Roll that 20 and get them Fang. That's the inspiration. Fantastic. Way to go, Lark. Lark is impressed. Owning that whole scene. Yeah, he fucking killed it. Neither he nor I knew what we were doing. The best. The best. I really want some ham now, though.
Oh, so tense. Poor Trent. Big gawo's coming to him. I'm actually super glad it was Trent. We hope that you enjoyed that episode of Dungeons & Randomness. There you will find all sorts of behind the scenes content, including some outtakes from this very episode for only a dollar. Here's a clip that I enjoyed. Oh, Jason, I was looking at my inventory and guess what? A thousand ball bearings. I have a crossbow of bolts. Did I have that before or after I got the hand crossbow?
I think I gave it to you after. That'd be hilarious if you just had the bolts, though. I was looking and I was like, "When did I have those?" Just whipping bolts at some point? It could be used as darts, I guess. Scratch graffiti in the local privies. For a good time, summon Kaladin. Now, the question is, did I put that in there because I thought it was funny and wanted it on a t-shirt? Maybe, maybe not.
