Check out DungeonFog.com today to see what all the fuss is about. Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason, I'm the Dungeon Master. Going around the table, start with Jane. Hi, I'm Jane. I play Ephini the Gnome Bard. And Zack. What's up, my name is Zack and I play Evelyn Bates the Human Fighter. And Mack. Hi, I'm Mack and I play Kaluna Volgaris the Wild and Druid. And Lisa. Hey, I'm Lisa and I play Elorass the Halfling Barbarian. And Bree. Hi, I'm Brianna Marie and I play Clara Urothdale the Drow Fighter. Half Drow Fighter, whatever.
And Jasper. Hey, this is Jasper. I play Maric Ethelred and he's a human cleric. So, we have something to address here pretty soon. But while everything is going down in the casino, with the fighting and all that, I wanted to back up a step and tackle the bar with Elorath and Poe. Elorath had said that she wanted to back Poe up on this and left the group to go tackle that, right? Yes. So how's about we pick things up just outside the bar. Now this place is kind of open. A lot of bars have this closed off vibe to it. You walk through some double doors or something like that and there's kind of a smoky vibe to it usually.
This is a little more open. Almost very sunny, like there are outdoor tables, there's stuff like that going on. It's very welcoming, very friendly. Except for this group of individuals that's hanging out pretty much in full armor. They look like adventurers or maybe ex-soldiers, something like that. Pretty well outfitted, pretty gruff looking, surrounding this table outside and being a little loud. And Poe's going to be a good distance away here and make eye contact with Elorath and give her a nod. She'll probably return the nod but then also wave because she's a dork.
She'll do the up nod to be cool and then be like, "hehehe, little wave." So this place is called the Golden Circle. It's got a pretty decent reputation for nice atmosphere, nice drinks, pretty friendly staff, that type of thing. And Poe would break this down, but recently these guys have just sort of made a nuisance of themselves. They're kind of loud, they chase away customers, they're brash. And to be honest, racists. And pretty on the nose about it too, very loud about it. Okay, so not only racists but obnoxious racists. Yes, loud about it, yeah. Ugh, okay.
I hate them already. See, Poe would... when Elorath comes over. So, I spoke to Renee, the person who runs the Circle. These guys have been in here every day this week just being loud, chasing people away. And the rumor is they're pretty violent about it too. At least threatening violence. Mm, okay. And I was hoping we could take care of this quietly. Just usher them out of here. Okay. So he's going to start to make his way over to them. I'm guessing Elorath is going to be in tow. Oh yeah, she'd want to follow close enough so it's like, "Yeah, I'm with him." But then also be like, "I'm not budging in on his authority." She's like, "Yeah, I'm the muscle.
What's up?" So there are six of these guys. And their leader, I guess for lack of a better term, is going to see you guys coming over. And at first they're probably figuring, "Oh, they're going to get a seat somewhere or whatever." But the fact that you're approaching them, they kind of puff their chest out a little bit. And he's going to get everybody to shut up and pay attention to you two as you walk over. What do you want? Instantly this kind of sends a vibe that they're probably not going to be incredibly receptive to kindness. They're probably not going to be very nice to you guys back.
But Po's going to take a deep breath. We've been getting some complaints about you guys making noise. And to be honest, it would be great if maybe you could just take it elsewhere. Elrath, could you do me a favor and roll a perception check? Sure. Hey, not too bad. Oh, God. Yeah, that's great. It's almost a crit. Very nice. One of the things you're going to notice about these guys look kind of scruffy, kind of like maybe they've been traveling for a while, that type of thing. Okay, like they might be new in town? Yeah, kind of sunburnt too. All of them are human.
And yeah, long hair. You're going to notice something else. Peeking out, this guy, the guy in front here, is kind of got this deep kind of V cut in his armor here. Ew. Yeah, he's showing off the chest. It's for the ladies. It's working. That sunburnt V gets me every time. You're going to notice that he's sporting a tattoo. And it's a tattoo of the old Overwatch insignia. Oh, fuck that. Yeah. Okay. So this dude was down with the cause. Very not cool with non-humans. And he's going to be eyeballing Elrath the entire time. Oh, she's going to cross her arms and do that thing where you kind of put your fists under your biceps.
So it's like, yeah, I've got muscles and now they're even bigger than they are when they're relaxed. Because she tends to wear a lot of cut-off shirts because, you know, she's kind of jacked. Right, of course. You get him tickets. Okay, good. Yeah. Yeah. She's going to stare him right down. And he's going to step forward. Like, nose to nose with Poe. Yeah, well, we're pretty comfortable. So, uh, I don't think we're going anywhere. And he's going to place a hand on Poe's chest and shove him back. Oh, hell no. And, uh, Poe- Yeah, go ahead. Sorry. Well, I was going to say, if that happens and if Poe doesn't do anything, she's going to immediately step up to him.
Just like, uh-uh. Poe's going to take a step back and just kind of take- like, do that thing where you're looking away. It's like, okay, I want to handle this in a reasonable way. I'm kind of representing the city here. I'm trying to do the right thing. But I want to punch you in the neck. Like, I just- I just- So, he's going to take a step back and take a deep breath. If Elorath steps up, this dude- this dude is going to look down at Elorath. What do you want, half woman? I want you to go back to that hole you crawled out of and leave respectable people alone.
What do you say that this is in an effort to intimidate? To kind of put an end to this before it gets started? Mmm. I would probably say that she would try. Yes. She's trying. Okay, so she's got a little- She's done. Yeah, she's got a little muscle flexing going on. Just like, hey, if you want some- that type of thing. Do me a favor, roll an intimidation check. It's not going to go well, okay. Okay, so that's a 12. Not terrible. No. I would say his friends are going to start crowding around him. Very much his hype men, that type of thing. Just kind of- it's like, oh, you hear that?
That type of thing. They're hyping him up to get ready to fight, basically. Mm-hmm. Now if I didn't know better, that sounded like a threat. You wouldn't be threatening me now, would you? He's going to get real close. She was just going to raise her chin to bare her throat in almost an orcish way of defiance. Just be like, bitch. Not saying anything, but just like, yeah, what? At this point, I think Poe would step back up, because he could see that this is getting heated. And he's going to put a hand on Elorath's shoulder. And he's going to say, hey, come here one second.
Just kind of let cooler heads prevail for just a moment. Okay. I don't like that he put his hand on my friend. And if you guys take a step back to kind of confer here, these guys are going to start not celebrating, but they're going to be like, yeah, that's right. That type of thing. Just bullies. They're bullies. They're assholes. Yeah. And Poe's going to kind of hunker down here with Elorath. Sorry. All right. These guys are not going to leave friendly. I was kind of hoping to settle this easily, but do you think we might be able to get the rest of the group in on this?
Just maybe if we had some numbers, they would just go. Yeah, I feel like if we went and got them. Yeah, I kind of don't want to walk away just because I really want to hit that guy in the dick. Like right now. But there are a lot of them. I suppose it could get bad. She's still like staring at the guy. Oh, yeah, he'd be staring right back. Like she's not taking her eyes off of him for a second. No, trust me, I get it. I want to hit the guy too, but I promised Renee I would try to settle this diplomatically. So let's get the rest of the group and we'll take care of this another time.
Okay. Speaking of the group, let's catch up with everyone here. So, Clara has won this fight, right? And Talati has just got knocked out, basically. Done. So the crowd goes friggin' nuts and we kind of covered that. And I believe Kaluna moved to heal Talati? Uh, yeah. So shortly after this crowd's kind of like, "Yeah, holy shit," that type of thing. They just get really excited. Shortly after that, two gentlemen are going to approach the group. Clara specifically, could we speak with you for a moment? What do they look like? Aladrin. They're not very threatening.
You'd think that they'd be like security or something, because you'd spot these guys around, kind of wearing the same type of stuff. Kind of like a tight-fitting tabard type deal, like white with red stitching and stuff. But they're there usually to assist with things, give directions, that type of thing. They're very friendly, but just after this they would kind of move away from the wall and walk up to Clara and the group. And Clara will still be beaming from winning the fight, but that'll kind of falter slightly and she'll nod and just go along with it.
If you and your group would follow us, the manager would like to speak with you. Yeah, she'll go along. And I'm guessing the rest of the group would follow. Yeah, definitely. I mean, this could be the "Hey, you're our new champion" kind of a talk. Right. "Here's all your money!" Right. And this is the first time that anyone from the casino has really approached you. In terms of like, that wasn't like, "Oh, well, while you're staying here, go check this place out." And there's usually kind of an upbeat peppy vibe to it. Kind of like you're at Disney World and they're just, "Hey, we just want you to have fun!" That type of thing.
This is the first time that someone has approached you with kind of an even tone. Like, not aggressive, not angry, but very like, "Come with us. Just have a seat." That type of thing. Do you know why I've called you down to the office today? Exactly. Have a cookie. That type of thing. Very... So they would lead you down... they would lead you to a corner of the casino here and there'd be a set of double doors. And there'd be two men standing next to that. They would open the double doors and lead you down this hallway. At the end of the hallway, there's a couple of twists and turns, but there's an office.
And they would lead you to the office and they would open the door for you and kind of gesture for you to go in. I feel like as Clara moves away from the crowd and they're going down the halls and stuff, like, that excitement starts to fade a little bit and she starts to feel nervous. And she'll just keep following behind them. So if you go into this office, it's very well furnished. Lots of bookshelves and stuff like that. It's got a different feeling than the rest of the casino. This feels a little more homey. Like, maybe someone spends a lot of their time in here.
That type of thing. And there's going to be an older-looking Aladrin standing behind a desk. And he's going to wave his hand into the group. "Come in! Come in!" Are there lots of chairs or is there like a stand close to the desk kind of a thing? It's my point. Again, very homey. There's a couple of couches set up. It's almost like a meeting area type of thing, not just an office. You could tell this person has people in here to speak often. Hmm. Kaluna perches on a couch immediately and they look kind of delighted by like, "Ooh, this is nice. It's not neat and clean.
It's comfy and cozy." Yeah. And Merrick sits right next to Kaluna. Yeah, Aveline finds an, I guess, an empty couch to plop on. And these would be really cushy, like really nice, comfy. "Congratulations on your victory, young lady." And he- Clara- Oh, sorry. Go ahead. No, you go ahead. He's kind of, um, it looks like he's measuring you with his eyes, just kind of taking you in, taking you and the group in. Clara would smile a little bit and bow her head and be like, "Thank you." "Do you know why I've called you here?" That phrase holds it. It's very, it's very principles, Elvis.
I know. Clara will kind of just have shake her head, but she, she very visibly is nervous. Like she doesn't know what to do. Right. It's the point in the conversation where like, it's like, "Uh oh." Like the alarm bells start going off. That thing that I realized a minute ago is a thing. Right. Kind of general like, "Oh, yep." "I have it on good authority that you were magically aided during your fight with our champion." "Is there any truth to this rumor?" Clara's eyes are gonna kind of move over to Merrick and then to Ethany. And she's kind of processing in her head and then she'll look back to the older Eladrin.
And, yeah, I guess so. I didn't really think about it that way. He's gonna sit down behind the desk. "My name is Maldrin. I operate this casino." "It's one of the main sources of income for visitors in our city." "I hope you've been enjoying your stay thus far." She'll kind of do a quick nod, but clearly nerves are starting to catch up with her and she's just shut down. Like, mouth tight. "Would you mind if I asked what your group was doing in our city?" "Um..." She'll scan over the group again with her eyes. "My friend was sick. Elarath, she's not here right now and we brought her to the temple to be healed." "I trust she's doing fine now?" "Yes, sir." "And that's the only business you have in the city right now?" "Um...
Po. Like, she's clearly so nervous that her eyes are kind of darting around if she's trying to think of... like, she doesn't want to give the wrong answer." "Right." "There's a man named Po. He's a friend of my friend and he wants us to help him, but we didn't come here for that." "He's gonna be, uh... he's gonna be shuffling some papers on his desk." "Ah... yes. Yes, I have heard about that. You're supposed to be taking the place of some... you're going into the arena with Gar, correct?" "Yes, sir." "Are you aware of the danger in that?" "Po said I could bring my weapons." "Oh, you would all be welcome to bring your weapons.
I would insist upon it." "Gar has a tendency to... take the fight a bit more seriously than most gladiators." "He has killed in the arena before, you know." "Her eyes are gonna kind of widen for a second and then just very quickly nod." "And you would do that as a favor to Mr. Tutillo?" "She'll nod again. He seems nice." "He's going to... he's going to stand up." "What say we forget what happened here today as long as you fulfill your obligation in the arena later?" "I'm willing to bet that you weren't directly trying to cheat us out of money." "Am I correct in this resumption?" "Yes, sir.
No, sir." "She's... her shoulders are gonna just completely go flat." "I don't... I didn't mean to cheat. I just... my friends wanted to help." "I didn't think about it. I'm sorry." "Definitely is going to stand up at this point as well." "Say, sir, please, it's not Clara's fault. It's mine." "I just wanted to help my friend. I didn't really think through what I was doing." "I'm very sorry." "Marek is gonna do it right after that. He's gonna do exactly the same thing and stand up and say, 'No, no.'" "If there's anybody here to be reprimanded, it's neither of these.
It's me. I started this." "I was thinking of the theater of it all. And I guess this place..." "Marek's gonna sort of gesture around at the casino." "This place kind of gets under your skin and, I don't know, it just kind of felt like..." "It felt like the right thing to do to make things a little bit more spark and pizzazz." "And I take that responsibility. And I'm sorry that I got anybody caught up in that." "So again, if you're gonna reprimand anybody, it's me." "Hmm. Well, I'll speak with Miss Kane and smooth this over." "I imagine she will be quite upset, but I can handle it." "What say you maybe stay out of the casino portion of the hotel for a while?" "I understand you have another day with us.
Po has arranged that." "Yes, sir." "I do hope that you enjoy your stay here. And I wish you all of the luck that I could possibly grant in the arena." "Clara's gonna be staring at the floor and she's clearly, like, her eyes are still wandering and she's lost in thought." "Sir?" "Yes?" "I don't want to damage your fighter's reputation. If you want me to fight her again, I could lose. Or at least a fair fight." "Do you know what we normally do when someone is found cheating at the casino?" "No, sir." "Depending on the severity, we usually just banish them from the city.
But there have been occasions where we've had to make an example of someone." "I don't believe that you were trying to cheat us. At least not directly." "I'm guessing you lot are adventurers, right?" "Clara will, um, her- she'll look over to the party again, 'cause, like, they have not been doing a fantastic job at that thus far." "It's kind of like someone asking, like, 'Are you a writer?' And it's like, 'Well, yeah, I write.'" "Like on paper I should be." "Yes. But then she'll nod." "I've heard tales of the road. I understand how it is out there.
But in a controlled setting like this, a fair fight should be a fair fight." "Kamuna is going to, um, hesitantly, like, slowly raise their hand." "And he would- he would nod." "To be fair, um, at least she did have a knife. Like, we've been in a fight before where we were like, 'Yeah, we're gonna punch someone.' And then he brought out a knife." "So... it could have been worse." "Like, they're clearly trying to help, like, 'Yeah, look at the bright side.'" "Wait, you're saying that it could have been worse, Klara could have pulled a knife?" "Yes." "Klara's gonna look horrified immediately and start shaking her head." "Yeah, Merrick's gonna do it really quickly. You know whenever you're driving a car and the red light happens and you have to slam on brakes and you put your arm on the person, even if they have a seatbelt on, you put your arm out?" "He's gonna do that to Kaluna.
Like, 'Dude, dude, dude, dude, dude.'" "She could have shanked her." "Klara looks very confused, like, 'What did we do?'" "I got it. Nope, you're fine, you're fine." "Oh, goodness." "And then also, Merrick's gonna be like, 'No, no, keep going, keep going.' He's gonna just be like, 'Just forget this, just keep moving, moving on, moving on, sir.'" "Just slowly covers Kaluna's mouth, like, 'Go on, Kerry, go, go.'" "With a handkerchief with chloroform on it." "Yeah." "He would look puzzled. Malgern would look very puzzled for a second, just kind of like, 'What?
Like, is that really the argument?'" "And then he would just, after you kind of pull Kaluna back." "Again, let's just put all of this behind us and go about our days. I don't see a need for punishment at this point." "Would that be alright with all of you?" "Yes, I accept." "He's just in the back, in the corner of the couch, just staring at him. Very creepy." "Just imperious, just like, 'Yeah, sounds good.'" "I imagine him with his arms spread out over the couch in that way that people sit in jacuzzis." "Clara will just nod nervously. Like, she still feels guilty, but if that's the decision, then that's the decision in her eyes." "Like, this is the authority figure, so..." "Thank you, sir." "And he would nod, and he would reach a hand out to shake Clara's." "And during this whole conversation, like, as it went on, like, the longer it went on, the more Clara kind of adopted kind of a almost soldier-like stance." "Like, her arms were behind her back, she was clasping one of her wrists, and she didn't even really realize she was doing that until the arm is out." "And then she'll, like, reach forward and shake his hand." "I appreciate your honesty." "Thank you, sir." "I'm very sorry." "And he would kind of motion towards the door, like, 'It's fine, don't worry about it.' But, yeah." "If you're making your way out, there'd be one more thing he would say." "It goes without saying that the prize money for this should be null and void, correct?" "Clara will just immediately nod, like, 'Yeah, no.'" "You lot have a fine day." "Thank you, sir." "And as they're exiting the room, as soon as the door closes behind them, she is just going to, like, completely, like, collapse the upper half of her body, just, ugh." "And, um, she'll look over to Elarath and Merrick and just..." "Ethony?" "Ethony, sorry.
Look, small people with e-names, I don't know. Y'all look the same." "How rude." "So, she'll be all slumped over and just look to Ethony and Merrick." "You guys didn't have to do that." "Merrick is going to, um, to come closer and put his hand on her shoulder and look, like, dead straight into her eyes and say, 'We didn't have to do that and I shouldn't have done that.'" "Ethony's, like, looking at the floor and she's kind of looking really dejected, but she's going to look up and again look right at Clara and say, 'I'm so sorry. I didn't need to do that.
I messed up. I'm really sorry.'" "Clara's going to start shaking her head before she even finishes her, like, as soon as she says sorry, she's already shaking her head." "So, it's, I was the one who should have realized that it wasn't fair and you were both just trying to help. Thank you." "And then she's going to kind of do a little half smile. I looked really cool for a little bit, right?" "Yeah, you looked cool. And I'm going to tell you, yeah, I'm going to tell you, all of that was just, like I said, the theater of it all, but I'm going to be honest with you, that prize money, even though we should probably leave it here, you really, really earned that yourself." "She would have been knocked out no matter what we had done." "She'll kind of smile, but shake her head and then look to the group as a whole.
Could you guys do me a favor?" "Yeah." "Could we just tell Alarath I lost?" "Yeah, smart move." "And she'll look relieved and just, 'Thank you. And off.'" "I have such principle feelings. I have like, icky vines." "Sorry, I tried not to have that go on too long." "I'm not a hate that guy." "That was worse than Darmok." The fact that you guys agreed to help out the city really gave you some leeway. That's kind of a cool thing. By the way, every- "That's where I was too. I was like, 'If you don't tell him that we're working with Poe, he's going to murder us.'" "Right!" "So, let's say the group exits the casino.
You're not escorted out or anything, but I feel like it's probably one of those things where you feel like, 'We should go.' Like, just, 'We're asked.' Maybe avoid that part. The bar is fine, you know, all that." "They're definitely watching us on video cameras." "Essentially! The Eladrin version of that, yeah." "Elaraf and Poe would probably catch up about this time." "How would Elaraf break down this situation?" "She'd probably have cooled down a little bit on the walk over there, and then also along the way have kind of apologized to Poe because she was trying to defend him and she is trying to think before she speaks.
And it did not happen." "So I feel like on the way over there she would have just been like, 'Sorry if I mess that up for you. I just didn't like that he pushed you.' And she kind of, you know, not look at him, but she was just like, 'Yeah, sorry, I know we should have talked through that thing, but he put his hands on you and I'm not about that life.' "But when they get back to the casino, I think if they're outside or whatever, I think she'd probably look at all of them and just be like, 'We need you guys' help.'" "I feel like Clara would just perk up at anything to distract. And yeah, like her eyes would immediately be like, 'Yeah, cool, help, what, anything but this.'" "And she would look at Poe, and if Poe's like, you know, going to give her permission to kind of like address the rest of the group, she'd just be like, 'Um, so like there's some assholes at the bar, and we don't want to fight them, but there's more of them than there are of us.
So if we could all go and talk and not punch them in the dicks, that would be great.'" "And she'd be alternately like looking at her feet and kind of shuffling and then looking at Poe like, 'Yeah, is that right?'" "He would immediately shake his head, 'Yeah, I kind of promised him that I would take care of this nicely, if we can. Violence should be the last resort, but these guys are assholes.'" "They are." "So you want us to stand behind you and look scary while you talk to them?" "Yeah, pretty much." "Just looking, yep, nope." "Kaluna is going to like puff up and be like, 'Oh yeah, we're good at that. We're real good at that.' And they're gonna look at Merrick for confirmation." "Merrick's gonna say, 'They said violence is the last thing we should do here though.'" "Kaluna immediately looks offended. 'We know.'" "They said look scary.
We look scary. And they looked at everyone else, 'We look scary.' Just desperately seeking confirmation." "Bums up from Anthony." "Yeah, Emily nods. 'Yeah, you're terrifying.'" "Yeah, Kaluna looks back to Merrick, 'See, we got this. No violence.' And they'll hold up their hands, dust them off like, 'No violence. Just scary.'" "Merrick's gonna look at Po and Elrath and say, 'Well, I need some fresh air.' So yeah." "Yeah, that's why we're leaving the casino. For fresh air." "He's going on a walk, you know. Sightseeing." "Totes." "Clara will, before we leave, she'll, I imagine at some point she took off the face mask and she'll put that back on because I think that does make her look more intimidating and I bet she thinks so too." "So it's sunny out." "Yeah, also that.
She doesn't like that." "So on the way to the Golden Circle, Kaluna is gonna get this feeling of unease. It's hard to describe, but you ever mid-drive somewhere?" "No." "Well, okay. You're far away from home and then you realize, 'Oh wait, did I lock the front door? That feeling that something isn't right or like..." "Do I leave the oven on? Oh shit." "Yeah, I think Kaluna would make a face and they'd like sort of, you know when you get a chill down your spine and you just sort of try to shake it off? They'll do that. And I imagine it doesn't help, but they carry on anyway." "Yeah, just a general feeling that something somewhere isn't right.
Like, oh, the status quo's been screwed with somewhere. Like it just feels wrong." "Someone ate pineapple on pizza." "Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I love you, Brie." "Wow, nothing. That didn't even..." "I was typing in the chat to not get in the way of the roleplay." "Oh, okay." "You mean the roleplay that I already interrupted with the bad joke?" "Yeah, but I wanted to be a good person, so..." "Oh, shoot." "There are like someone who has pineapple on their pizza because it's delicious and sour, like savory and sweet is wonderful." "Bullshit." "Jane, was that you?" "No." "Oh, I thought it was Jane for a second.
I was like, that was very..." "It's growing so quiet, it's just that was the time to call me out." "Unexpected, but well done." "Exactly. I was impressed." "Okay." "So if you get back to the Golden Circle here, the group seems to have left." "We did it." "Yes. And Renee would kind of download some information to the group." "The guy leading this crew is named Brett Mueller." "Mueller?" "I'm sorry." "Real asshole, obviously. Elrath and Poe would already know that." "But the group hangs out in the bar most of the day." "And when they're not hanging out there, there's an alley that they pretty much loiter in." "There's chairs set up that they've taken from establishments around here because it's shady." "It's out of the direct sun and they just pretty much loiter and drink back there." "And it's Breck." "Okay, sorry.
I was just like, what?" "Why is Breck worse than Brett?" "It is so much worse." "I looked at them and I was like, oh yeah, Brett's a bad name, but then Breck and just ooh." "Sorry, I was just like, oh, I'm so deaf right now. What did you just say?" "So essentially she would let the group know where this alleyway is that they hang out in." "Now, is this a thing that you guys would like to, is this pretty much like, all right, they're out of the bar, you could let it go, or do you want to pursue this?" "Oh, EllaReth definitely wants to pursue it." "But she will take in the mood of the group." "Oh, she would also on the way over there have been like telling them about the tattoos for old Overwatch." "She'd be like, yeah, they're racist as fuck." "How would the group react to that?" "I feel like Clara would almost be like, yep, same thing as always." "Like seeing a Confederate flag on a truck, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, that tracks." "Kaluna would just like take a deep breath and sort of mumble under their breath, no violence, no violence, we're just looking scary, no violence." "Avalyn would frown at the mention of an old Overwatch tattoo, which is visibly frown." "Oh, okay, Marek's gonna be a mom." "Marek's gonna sigh and say, all right, look, this is, he's gonna look at Poe, Poe, this is your thing, so you let us know how you want to handle this." "But I'm gonna be honest, to me, it feels like we're looking for a fight, and you know, we're kind of guests here." "Marek's gonna look over at Clara, kind of trying to say, you know, we just kind of went through some bullshit that we should, you know, maybe we should keep it low." "And I don't know if I can convey that with a look, but you know what I mean, just like, I don't know if this is such a good idea right now." "But I'm gonna be looking at Clara and say, to me, it feels like, you know, let them do their thing, they're gonna be back, and we'll be here waiting, and as soon as they do anything you don't like, then we can take care of it." "But let them make the first move. I don't want to, you know, ruffle any feathers." "He's gonna give that some thought.
That might be the best thing. I hate to say it, 'cause I really hate these guys." "Don't get me wrong, I don't like the Overwatch any more than anybody else, and honestly, the thing is, is that they're a bunch of racist jerks without a home right now, so let's let them fuck themselves up." "Okay. Like, Elrath would nod and agree, like, I appreciate the wisdom of that even if it's not my first instinct." "What time of day is it, by the way, real quick, roughly? Is it midday or is it later in the day?" "It's later in the day." "So, is Renee still standing there?" "Well, yeah, yeah, she'd be there at the bar." "Marek's gonna just ask real quick, 'Hey, um...' He's not gonna, like, yell it over, he's just gonna sort of get closer and be like, 'So they're gone for now, um, when do you think they would normally come back?'" "Honestly, they probably won't be back till tomorrow." "Oh, okay." "They're big day drinkers." "Okay.
Uh, when do they show up? When do you open?" "It'll be around 10 AM." "Marek's gonna turn back to the group and say, 'Okay, why don't we be here when they show up?'" "Maybe we can take their usual table from them and just be like, 'Yeah, fuck you, you don't have a place to sit now.'" "Marek's gonna turn back to Renee. What's their favorite table?" "And she'd point it out. She'd point out the one in the corner outside." "And Marek will just turn back around. And shrug. There you go." "She'll grin at him." "That him." "That the plan?" "Hell yeah!" "Sounds great, yeah, yep." "Let me ask a question.
For the rest of the day here, um, is there anything anybody wanted to do before we, we kind of advance time?" "So at some point later on in the day, I feel like Elrath, like, once like this is kind of all cooled down, she'd probably do a couple things." "And I think the first thing would be to ask about the fight and just be like, 'Hey, how'd that go?'" "Clara would like immediately tense up and just go, 'It was, ah, my phone just started going off.'" "It was fine. I lost." "And kind of shrugged it off and then whatever they were doing in that moment, she would just do it harder." "Oh." "Whoa." "Okay. I'm sorry.
I thought you had it." "Maybe next time we can, you can, I bet you'll get it." "She'll smile and just, 'Thanks.'" "She goes, 'Elrath, to be mad at her.'" "She wouldn't be mad." "I know, but Clara." "Yeah." "If there's like another moment of silence, she'd be like, 'Oh, oh, I got something. I want to show you.'" "And she'll like pull out the holy symbol. She'd be like, 'Look, I got one.'" "Like, it looks like yours.'" "Clara's face is gonna light up and she'll smile and be like, 'Did you get that from the cleric?'" "Yeah, yeah. She was like real nice and stuff and, and she showed me like around her temple and I, you know, wanted to say like thank you and stuff." "And so then like I asked if I could, I have one 'cause I really like how nice and stuff she was and she made me feel good." "And she let me have hers.
So this is actually like hers." "And she's gonna be like looking at it. She's like, 'This is so precious to me.'" "Aww." "Clara is just gonna think that's the cutest thing she's ever seen in her life, just like Brianna does." "And fling her arm around Elrath's shoulder and pull her in." "That is wonderful, Elrath." "Yeah, well I like, I thought about it and like I went to go say like thank you to her and then I was like, 'You know what, like that reminds me of my friend like Clara and my friend like Zoya from a while ago.'" "And I'm like, I just, I would like to have that to remember 'cause I want to be better now.'" "So, I wanted to show you." "She's gonna kind of like hold it out a little bit." "Aww." "She'll, she'll study it a little bit and then she'll smile at Elrath and say," "'I, I think you're already pretty great, but that's really amazing.'" "She'll make that sound too." "Thanks." "And she'll just like grin, just like, 'Thanks.'" "So, we're gonna advance time till the next day." "Now, you guys have a fight to prepare for. Just to remind you." "What time of day does that have?
Is that, is that today?" "That's tomorrow's the fight." "Mm-hmm." "So, we're advancing it one day, so yes." "Yep, just letting you know, you have a fight to prepare for." "I feel like the night before she goes to bed, Elrath, Clara, Clara's gonna go through kind of, you know, like in every single martial arts movie where like a character's just practicing with their blades and stuff?" "She's gonna do that before bed, but besides that, whatever." "Does this hotel have room service?" "What kind of question is that, Jasper?" "Of course they do." "That's the 'I'm about to take advantage of a favor' question." "No, I'm just-" "We have money." "Merrick is going to carb up. He's gonna order a bunch of pasta." "Oh my God." "He's gonna carb up." "Get ready, he's gonna get ready for the fight by, you know, making sure he's got some, you know, some slow burn sugars in his body." "Nice, I like it." "I don't imagine that he tries to force it onto everyone else too and explain that they need it." "This is what all the best fighters do, this is-" "And a lot of dessert, like a lot of desserts, tons of desserts." "Desserting up, I'm deserting up, this is the thing." "Desserting up." "It's science, it's science." "So, you guys wanted to go to the bar?" "Yes." "Well, we wanted to go to a table in a bar." "Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm." "Mm-hmm, a very specific table if I remember correctly." "We're just trying to keep the peace, that's all." "So before you guys take off, Poe's gonna pull you aside, because he's gonna meet up with you in the lobby." "He's gonna say, 'Uh, apparently they need to talk to me.'" "If you guys wanna wait, this might take a couple of hours.'" "Who's they?" "The higher-ups." "Oh." "It's probably about someone who owes money." "Well, is there anything we can do in the meantime?" "Should we go ahead and take care of the Golden Circle?" "He's gonna have a look on his face like, 'Uhhhhh.'" "Do you think you could do it in a quiet manner?" "Marek's gonna have a look on his face like, 'Uh, duh.'" "And then look back at everybody else." "We can try." "Clara's gonna look nervous at that." "Koluna also looks kind of uncomfortable, like 'Eww, quiet, eww.'" "And like, duh, I think Poe would be like, 'Oh, okay, well, if you guys got it, then yeah, that would be..." "Meanwhile, all of the faces behind Marek are like, 'Right.'" "I don't know." "But Marek's so sure of it." "Yeah, actually, that'd be a huge help, thank you. I definitely owe you one." "Sure, let's take care of it.
Marek's gonna just be like, 'Come on, let's do something right here. Let's do something right.'" "Koluna, right? No violence." "Yeah, no violence." "Perfect." "And they'll lean in, they'll lean in. We don't know if we can do quiet, though." "We can do no violence. We don't know about quiet." "Yeah, it can be loud. Quiet here means don't stab anybody." "Oh, okay, okay, we got this, we got this." "And they'll turn back to everyone else like, 'We got this.'" "I like the confidence." "It is severely misplaced." "I imagine Clara put her mask back on so her eyes were just screaming." "Oh yeah." "Just like a mask covering her lower half of her face." "Before we walk out and go, Marek's gonna say, 'Hang on, I got something to do real quick.' And he's gonna go up to the front desk and say, 'Hi, I'd like to check out, please.'" "Okay.
Are you looking to settle the bill now?" "Well, I mean, we're supposed to be gone today, right?" "Yeah, pretty much." "Yeah, just, we're not settling the bill so much as just making sure that they know they can go in and clean up." "Uh-huh. And the alleged one at the desk, 'Well, that's a shame. We hate to see you go. Is there anything that we can do while you're still here?'" "Nope, just, you know, if you see us again, just, you know, give us a smile." "And he's going to smile and say, 'I truly hope that you enjoyed your stay here.'" "Thanks. Well, we'll see you around.
By the way, do we have any things that are left back in the room? Like, did we leave some stuff up there?" "Let's say you grabbed it." "I was going to say, if not, I would say, 'Hey, we've got some stuff in the room. Is that okay if we come back and get it? Can you bring it down behind the desk or something or like keep it somewhere or whatever?' But yeah, if we've got it all, no problem." "I guarantee you someone forgot a book or a pillowcase. Someone forgot something because that is the rule of staying at hotels." "Oh, it's definitely a charging adapter." "Oh, or a neck pillow." "From the plane." "A stuffed animal?
Ugh." "Anyway, no, Merrick just wanted to check out because he wants to keep, he wants to do this right and wants to make sure that they are not, that we're gracious for their hospitality. Because you never know." "And the guy's going to hand you a piece of paper design." "Merrick's going to scribble whatever scribble his name would be." "And then turn it around 180 degrees and push it back to the guy." "Yep, and he's going to, he's going to thank you once again. And he's going to say, 'All the items from room service have already been taken care of.'" "Perfect.
That's the big thing. He's going to have a big sigh. Okay, great. Thank you." "Okay, that was a tad." "Yeah, right, done. Oof. Fantastic. Alright, well, have a good day." "And he'd not." "That's it." "So, as far as the bar goes, let's say you're making your way across the city here and you're settling, how do you want to handle this, the bar? How do you want to, how do you, do you just want to sit at the table and wait for them?" "We don't just sit at the table. We lounge at the table. We luxuriate at the table." "I'd love to settle in because we can't make it look like what we're doing is the thing we're doing." "Right, right.
I agree. I think we should, we should, we should all sit around that table, like at other tables." "Oh, you don't want to sit at the actual table." "Well, no, I'm just, I'm just rethinking it. It's like, well, just not split up so much as just like, let's leave the table open and let's sit right next to it so we can basically just stare at them and wait for them to fuck something up." "Oh my God. Oh my God. We're going to be, we're going to be the people at the theater who are like, excuse me, could you, could you quiet it down please? We're trying to watch the movie.
Excuse me, sir?" "Yes, we are." "Less could you be quieter and more could you stop being so loudly racist?" "Exactly." "Well." "Well then let's do this." "Okay, so you're not sitting-" "Are we going to pull up a map and see where we're all sitting?" "Yeah, you're not sitting at that table that they sit in, but you're sitting around, you're surrounding them basically." "Your mama's so fat." "You remember the MTV show Yo Mama hosted by Fez from that Sony show?" "No." "It was great. It was fantastic." "Oh." "People would bring their moms to watch them insult their mothers. Like their mother would be sitting there while someone was directly insulting them and Fez hosted it and I don't know why, but I watched like 30 episodes." "Well then." "Can I bring that back?
It was great." "So, these guys are going to get here and instantly they're going to start giving the stink eye." "Specifically to Elarath, Clara, Efeni, Kaluna. Like just specifically." "I wonder why." "I can't imagine why." "Yeah, yeah. Just very disgusted with you. And they're going to make their way to their table." "Kaluna is going to greet them with a cheery wave. Like, you know, they're going to act real casual. Like, 'Oh, saw them out the corner of my eye. Hello.'" "Elarath would do like a weird mixture of like, 'I'm giving you the stink eye, but I'm also trying to be polite.' So it'd be like, she's staring them down and she's just gonna like take a drink just like slightly.
Cheers." "God, so they're gonna, they're gonna..." "So now you guys are locked in this game of 'we're trying to fuck with you, but we can't let you know that we're trying to fuck with you.'" "We're just going to keep ordering appetizers." "And you guys are, are you guys talking amongst yourselves?" "Absolutely." "Yeah." "You're just kind of hanging out, right?" "We're just hanging out because there's nothing, it's not like we have to stare at them. It's just, you know, we're just making sure they don't cross a line." "Your mere presence annoys them." "Right." "Yeah." "I think Kaluna's conversation topics are also annoying. They definitely go for like the sleepover talk, like the weird shit that you talk about at like 3am.
Like, 'Do you think pigeons have feelings?' Okay, what about?" "Hey Aaron, do pigeons have feelings?" "These guys are gonna start telling war stories. Almost, they're almost doing the same thing that you're doing, where they're gonna start loudly telling stories, but their stories aren't, 'Oh man, so we were pinned down and this happened and then we fought our way back and everything.' "Their stories are filled with racial slurs more, and it's, specifically elves, because you get the sense that this guy may have been stationed in the Evergreen at some point, something like that, so he's got 101 colorful things to say about elves." "Can we talk about reading a room? You are in a city that is almost exclusively Aladrin, who are like the elvish elves, like the elviest elves that's ever elved an elf." "Can we talk about the fact that the super racists were like, 'You know what would be a great vacation destination?
The city of elves.'" "Clara, the whole time, like she's, I imagine she's actually pretty quiet, and because she has her mask up, you can't really see how she feels, but her eyes are burrowing into these men, like the whole time, just steady holding on them, because I feel like she's probably dealt with quite a bit of racism in her life, and she knows that bothers them more than anything." "These guys are going to go out of their way, right? Like they're telling stories, and like, 'Then I gutted that dirt elf, blah blah blah,' that type of thing, like they're going out of their way." "And then they're going to get to a story, the dirt elf thing specifically. They're telling a story about how they came, they sort of ran across this drow entrance, like they found, they just kind of stumbled upon it." "And they ended up killing several drow there." "Oh boy, here we go." "And they're, again, just trading war stories, loud laughter at a lot of this, that type of thing.
This guy Brek is definitely leading the charge, and every once in a while, he'll tell the drow story specifically, and as he's laughing, it's like, 'Haha,' that type of thing, he's laughing, he's going to turn around and look back at Clara." "And this continues for a while. What would you guys be doing?" "Is there a way to tell that they're just looking for a reaction? Like, or is that something, I don't know." "Give me an insight." "Oh, great, yeah." "I feel like that doesn't even need an insight, he keeps looking at me." "I mean, like, you get the sense that, basically, you're trying to divine, it's like, are you just, like, assholes, or are you trolling?" "Yeah, you're trying to get around, yeah." "Can I make an argument for animal handling because they're racist?" "I'll tell you what, the insight check would not be high." "Okay, sorry.
Alright, here we go. Woo!" "Yeah, crushed it!" "Absolutely nailed it." "Okay, a little higher than two, but like, essentially you're still trying, it's that thing of, like, you're sitting there, it's like, are you this tone deaf and shitty? Are you this much of an asshole that, like, are you just this way all the time?" "Yeah, I feel like she'd just be, like, looking at him like, 'Are you stupid?'" "Yeah, but you're all so low, you probably might agree with them now. Like, this is actually a good point." "You are a dirt elf, right, Clara?" "You do not layer sound with dirt." "Oh." "I just want to point out, all of the skills that she has rolled today have been charisma based." "Aw." "That is not your bread and butter." "It is not." "Clara's just gonna keep, keep that, like, not reacting and just keep her eyes set on these people." "On Kaluna's end, uh, they're not holding it together very well." "Like, like, they're clearly not paying attention to the shit that they're saying, so it sounds extra ridiculous, but they're also, like, they're clearly super tense and they're, like, gritting their teeth and just, like, flexing their hands just over and over, like, 'Not gonna do anything, really want to punch that dude in the face.'" "It's gonna reach a point.
Anybody who's ever, okay, you ever, you ever sit in the cafeteria with that table? It's just a table with the bully assholes who get bored with the conversation that they're having, so they start branching out and looking to the tables near them to see what they could make fun of or interfere with or, or, or, or whatever." "Mm-hmm." "And they're gonna start to do that. And, um, they're gonna, it's gonna start between them where they're, they're not whispering, but it's a different tone than their big boisterous, like, laughter about the war stories.
And they're gonna, they're gonna, like, point to, like, like point over to Efony and, like, you're gonna, you're gonna hear little, little bits and pieces of the conversation, but the term 'booster seat' comes up." "So rude." "Sorry." "And, um, as they're laughing, they're gonna, they're gonna flag you guys down. Specifically, Kaluna. One of them-" "Oh, no. The negative one charisma." "One of them is just gonna be like, 'Hey, hey.'" "I think Kaluna's going to, like, look at Merrick, just like, 'Do I do it? Do I engage?' Basically looking for, like, the signal." "Right.
I want it to be that as Kaluna looks to Merrick, Merrick is already doing his head back and forth, like, 'Nooooo.'" "Nooooo." "Nooooo." "And they're going to sort of, like, they're not gonna nod, but they're gonna sort of rub their nose, and as they're rubbing their nose, they're gonna cast Druidcraft real quick." "And they're just gonna-" "Oh, furnish them." "They're just gonna just, I think they'll sneeze, 'cause I think it needs a somatic opponent, I think. So they're gonna sneeze." "That's, okay, that's-" "Is there any chance that Clara will see this before it happens?" "Or anybody?" "Right." "Well, I would say this, when you're casting a spell-" "Do you want me to roll, like, a sleight of hand? 'Cause I can do that." "Well, okay, I just want to make it clear, because there was some confusion last time, when you're casting a spell, there is, you're definitely doing it, it's not like, it's usually not on the sly." "Oh, okay. Okay, then Kaluna will not do that." "If I could, I would, though.
But yeah, Kaluna's just going to, instead they're going to pick up their drink and just sort of make sure that they can't do anything and sip on it." "Clara's gonna lean over to Eloraf, 'cause I imagine they sat next to each other in this spread that we've done." "Oh yeah, definitely, Eloraf would plop right by our friend." "So she'll lean over." "Be ready to go alert the staff." "And she's just gonna whisper that, and then she's going to call out to the other table." "Sirs, you're annoying everyone. Keep it down." "Let's wait forever." "That was pretty diplomatic, considering." "That was your 'can I speak to your manager' voice." "Yeah, and then very suddenly the back of her hair got shaven off in that mom cut." "Shorter in the back, longer in the front, like Hinata from Naruto, but also every mom." "Um, the flyer clearly says..." "I have a coupon." "Does this look like medium rare to you?" "My kids are going to be late to soccer practice." "Oh, oh I'm sorry." "You know, if we're bothering you so much, you could just leave." "And he's gonna go back to addressing Kaluna specifically." "Hey, I'm talking to you." "And Kaluna is going to put their drink down, and still looking at Merida, they're going to say..." "So, Troubadours..." "I have to make up a book name, I'm so sorry." "Troubadours treatise on elven inadequacy." "No, that's a bad name. I don't know why inadequacy was the first word." "You're the pigeon's one again." "The pigeon's one." "Yes, actually, that was really helpful." "Troubadours treatise on pigeon migration patterns was really fascinating, I think." "Just trying to come up with some shit." "He is not going to take this hint, and just..." "My friends were talking here, and uh..." "What the hell are you?" "Kaluna's going to hold up a finger to Merida." "Please excuse me." "And they're going to turn in their seat, and they're going to say..." "We are a wildin'.
We come from the Silver Glade." "You know, where werewolves live." "And they're just going to give a very flat look like..." "Do you really want to do this?" "The answer is yes." "It may surprise you." "What happens next?" [Laughter] "How many of them are there?" "Six." "And there's six of us, correct?" "Yeah, six." "He would start to address Merrick." "Hey." "Merrick's going to do the eye roll." "Yeah?" "How often do you gotta water your friend?" "Oh, god damn it, that's good though." "Please, no!" [Laughter] "Merrick is going to, um..." "He's going to, he's just staring, no blinks." "Just staring at Breck." "And, um..." "It's going to be a long stare, right?" "Very long pause." "Like, ten seconds, which is a long time for this kind of shit." "Oh, yeah!" "And he's going to lift up his hand in the direction of where I..." "Is René working behind the bar?" "Mm-hmm." "He's going to lift up his hand so that René can see it." "And he's still staring at Breck, and he's going to say..." "René, can we get another pitcher of water over here?" "Thanks." "He's just still staring at Breck." "So you're settling in, like you're, you're..." "This is basically a declaration of like, no, we're in it for the long haul." "Fuck you." "Yeah, this is..." "Oh, you've got the water for your thing." "Yeah, need some water." [laughter] "Thanks for reminding me, I was a little parched, yeah." "Yeah." "That's it." [sigh] "Can I ask for clarification real quick?" "Sure, yes." "Brie, when you said Clara said get ready to alert..." "or let somebody know, did you mean like..." "Hey, there's probably going to be a fight about to break out." "Is that what you were talking about, or..." "It was kind of more, we're kind of baiting them, right?" "We're trying to get them to throw the first punch, or whatever." "Yes, okay." "And as soon as that happens, we need to shut it down, because we don't want to hurt any of them." "We just need a reason for them to leave." "And if the actual staff is here..." "Yeah, let them know, okay, hey, get through, okay." "Alright, thank you." "She would understand that, but Lisa was like..." [laughter] "Do you mean like, 'Hey, Renee, they're being dicks again.'" "And she'll be like, 'I know.'" "Right, that's for us to deal with, but like once..." "Something, if something happens..." "Because it seems like nothing might happen, but if something happens..." "Staff." "Thank you, I appreciate you." [laughter] So if you guys are settling in... Yeah. After, I'd say after the order and a pitcher of water and Renee would bring it over...
They're going to start to get a little bit frustrated. And Breck is gonna kind of lean over to you guys. "Hey, we were just making some jokes." "I don't know why you gotta get so uptight about it." "And he's going to..." "Specifically to Elorath and Ephini?" "I thought you little people were supposed to have a good sense of humor." I don't know about Ephini, but Elorath would probably look right at him, like acknowledge him, like, "I heard you." And then look at Ephini and just be like, "So, how's your book coming along?" Or just ask her something about the book.
Just be like, "Have you written any journal entries lately about assholes?" [laughter] I like that. Ephini's going to grin at Elorath and like... There'll be a slight look of gratitude mixed in with that because her fists were clenched. She's getting really frustrated with these guys. And then she's gonna say, "You know, I'm tempted to pull my journal out now." "I feel a rather large entry coming on." I'm so inspired. Just all of a sudden. Just a grin. Breck is going to stand up. And he is going to walk a pace or two over to the nearest table. The one with Ephini at it.
And he is going to slam his fist onto the opposite end of the table. "I'm talking to you." The fist slam is the moment. Like, Clara's gonna stand up immediately. And she's not gonna approach. She's just gonna stand. Merrick's doing the same thing. Kaluna jumps into you. Elorath would make her way to Renee. Right. Like, stand up, but just... So everyone at their table is gonna stand up as well. So we got this thing where it's like, "Oh shit." Like, okay. Clearly, tempers have reached a point where this could get ugly. So Elorath's gonna go get Renee and tell her what's going on here.
And essentially, what's been happening is that the city can't... They're trying to be accommodating because it's really a tourist city, right? But these guys, they're not spending enough money to justify what they're doing. And now they're threatening customers. That's where it's at. Like, out and out, outright threatening. Not just being dicks and pushing people away. They're threatening. Yeah. So she's gonna get ready and lean over to somebody, and they're gonna go running. Meanwhile... Breck is gonna have this stony stare at the group. Specifically Ephini.
"I don't like being ignored." "Maybe you should say something worth listening to." He's gonna do that forced smile thing. And he's gonna look back. "Kaluna's doing it right back. It's just angelic. A delight." He's gonna... His mouth's gonna be real tight now. Just like, "Mm-hmm." And he's gonna look back to his group. And then he's gonna look back to yours. "I think you've had enough water." "I think it's time for you to go." "Really? 'Cause you know I am a plant." "I'm sorry. I used the wrong pronouns." "Really? 'Cause we are a plant. You know, we need to stay real hydrated." And they're gonna fill up their glass again and sit back down.
Klara's going to hold her hand up to Kaluna to be like, "Okay, that's enough." "That's exactly enough to sing them off for right now." Yeah, Kaluna's just sipping at the water very pointedly, like, "Mmm." "I'm sorry, sir." And you can tell this "sir" is different than the "sir" from earlier. Right. This is the "sir" in quotes, right? Yeah. "I think you need to sit down and let other people enjoy their drinks." He's gonna lock eyes with Klara. "You know what?" "I think you're right. I think maybe we're all being a little harsh here." "Here. He's gonna grab the pitcher from your table." "Oh, no.
Oh, no, fuck no." "He's gonna hold it over Kaluna's head. Let me help you enjoy your drink." And he's gonna start to... He's going to... He's gonna definitely make the motion to start dumping this on Kaluna. Alright, who's gonna push him? I got it. "Kaluna, please do something." Oh, Avalon. Go for it. Avalon wants to... If he can, he wants to... It's fine if he has to make a check or anything. He wants to, as this man is pouring water, he wants to dip his head over it so he gets poured on. And humiliated, I guess. He wants to take the hit. That's perfect. You're a sweetheart.
Yeah, I don't say there'd be a check for that. 'Cause you're just moving your head in the way, basically. Just like, yeah. Just taking a waterfall. And he'd stop pouring. Like, what are you, fucking dumb? When he's done pouring, Avalon just looks up and he says, "Thank you. He was getting kind of hot in here." He just stares at him with this deadpan look. He just kind of sits back down. He's going to address Avalon. What are you putting your neck out for them for? Why are you even hanging out with them? I don't understand what you mean. He kind of tilts his head like a dog.
At this point, Breck is getting obscenely frustrated. Just angry that you're not leaving. And that this didn't escalate into a fight, essentially. I was just going to say, if there's an awkward moment, Avalon's just going to shake his head like a dog. Trying to, like, shake off water. Just checking in. And there are plenty of witnesses, right? To what is happening here. Oh, yes. Oh, yes. We are doing well, guys. Keep your cool, everybody. A few minutes later, like, while this is all going on, remember how I said someone went running out of the bar? It's the fuzz.
Guards are going to show up. And these guys are fully outfitted. Like, they are. Yeah, and there's going to be about ten of them. And they're going to, they're basically, okay, so they're eyeballing Breck because they've already heard the stories about them. They're just waiting, right? But they're trying to be neutral? So they're going to address the group, both groups. We got a report about a disturbance? So there's a concept that Tyra Banks made up called "smize." Where you smile with your eyes. Because Clara's entire bottom half of her face is covered, she is smizing right now.
And she'll approach the officers, and I imagine she just kind of briefed them on the situation. Like, me and my friends were here having a drink. These gentlemen were yelling racial epithets and uncomfortable stories. They threatened my friend, and she'll gesture to Effany. They were attacking my friend. And points to Kaluna and Avalon, because kind of both of that happened. And you can ask anyone here, and I am sure they will back up this story. Sir. And that's essentially all they need to hear? Because they were, okay, they came here with a loaded gun, basically, waiting.
Just waiting. It's like, "Oh please, someone tell me it was this asshole. Please." Are we going to Breck here? Yeah, that's... And I imagine even just looking at it, you can back it up, because as she's pointing to Avalon, his face is still dripping. Yeah, not just that, but Breck is the entire time like, "Oh, you bitch." That's how his entire demeanor is going to exude that. And just shy of screaming, he's like, "You're going to believe that over me." That type of thing. Just that. I'd say seconds after you're telling him all this, he'd probably shout that.
Which is, again, more proof. None of this is looking good for Breck. Look, we're more related than you're related. Stop it. I mean, they hate me more, I think. Whatever. The point is. They are going to ask... They're going to ask Breck and his crew to come with them. What I'm going to do is I'm going to roll this d20 to see how Breck would react. He is going to be furious, right? Just fuming. But seeing the situation in front of him, he is going to very slowly walk away from the table. His group is going to accompany him, and they're going to kind of walk around this railing where the bar would be, and then leave the establishment and go with these guards.
And they are going to take them away. They're going to escort them somewhere. You're not exactly sure where, but they're going to take them somewhere. There's no "this isn't over" moment. Oh no, he is eyeballing you furiously, but there's nothing much to say now? If there's anything to say, it would be said with eyes. You know what I mean? You're walking away, and it's like, "Mm-hmm. Okay. Okay." That type of thing. Just so angry, "There are no words." That type of thing. You've chased them out of their establishment. This was their place. And some nobodies like you.
You are less than to him. But yeah, they'll take them away, and you have settled this in as peaceful a manner as I think is probably. As soon as they are out of eyesight, Kalluuna's going to hold up hands for everyone to high-five. - Done, done, slap slap slap slap. - So congratulations on that guys. - Oh thank god. - We did it! We ran the racist away. Yay! - Racists have been scared forever! - Legally! - We got rid of that! - Exactly! - Oh my gosh I'm so glad we were able to handle that without fighting, I wasn't sure if this group would be able to do that.
Not that I would have the utmost confidence, it's just... - Not that, not that I didn't have any confidence, but I had no confidence. - Exactly, thank you. - It's not that I didn't have confidence, it's just that I didn't believe in the heart of the cards. So before we leave, Merrick's gonna go up to the bar real quick and just look at Renee and say "Anything else you need?" She'll have a big smile on her face too, like "Nope, that'll do it!" Like that type of like, just like "Thank you!" like that, yeah. Merrick's just gonna give a thumbs up and then I guess we'll take off?
Yeah I think so, I think we're good. We don't have to wait for Poe or anything, like... No, and I mean word would get back to him that this was settled and that's fucking amazing to him, like that's... I imagine there'd be some amount of surprise. Like it's like "Really?" - Look he's met Elorath. - He knows! He knows! So what time is this, the gladiator fight? That'd be the next day, like midday. That would basically be an all-day affair type of thing. Okay, I was gonna say, so it's not like later today for an hour? This is like... No. No, it's a thing. Basically, if you guys want, we can jump forward in time, we just talk about what you guys would be doing in that period, and we can get to the fight.
Only thing that we have to do between now and then is find a place to stay. Yeah, cause you checked us out! There are more reasonably priced establishments around, I believe. Oh totally. There are. Do we have any cash? I can't remember. - I was gonna say, how... - Yes. Did we cash out the shit that we actually earned at the casino? Oh, that's a good point. Would that be part of the checking out process? Yeah, I was about to say, we got our bags, we kinda checked out. I would assume so, but whatever. Yeah, I feel like as part of the agreement, I think a lot of this is just like, the slate's gonna be wiped clean.
You don't have to pay for any of your room service, you don't have to pay for any of that, but let's just like, let's maybe forget about the gambling portion of this. Got it, got it, got it. So like, I have like a hundred tokens, but I don't think that's gold. No. Okay, so I'm gonna just put zero in here. How's that? Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Also zero, also zero. But there are definitely establishments you guys could stay at for far less than... So Efni's got 20. I got 10. Elorath has 15. Yep, because Clara wisely told her not to give a lot of her money away. And if you guys are in a real pinch, you could even stay at the temple.
I was gonna say, that would be our last ditch. Yeah, like if you're in a real pinch, and you're really trying to save money, like Elorath's got a pretty good like, like... I have a connection there. Yeah. So like, Vasis would let you stay at the temple for a couple of days, that type of thing. It's not a permanent solution, but it's definitely like, yeah, for a couple of days. Yeah, that feels like such an imposition. If we stayed at the temple, then like, Clara could kind of show Efni and Elorath like, this is how we pray, and like that kind of stuff too.
That's true. We could just say that happens, we don't have to roleplay it. Yeah, I mean, maybe, you know, would that be cool to everybody if we went to the temple and just asked if there was some additional room? I'm down. I mean, I feel like, I mean, we could even just be like, we're willing to make a, you know, a tribute. Oh yeah, yeah. And also we'll clean or something. Yeah. This would definitely be like bedrolls and stuff like that. This isn't like a five star resort, but it's definitely a place to, you know, keep the elements off your head and like it's a nice place to stay.
Everyone misses the magic of the shower. Always. That was the high life. I think the temple's a good idea. All right, so let's say you're staying at the temple. It is currently the 25th of Yesd. Would you like to move forward in time? Yeah. Let's get this going. All right. How long would you like to rest? 26th. Now, Po would probably pull you aside before, because the arena gets filled with people, right? There's this like, they love games like this and stuff. And usually it's like horse racing, things like that, or sparring. This is different. This warforged Gar has built up quite a reputation of being kind of a loose cannon like this.
That's like, hey, anything can happen. We don't know. We don't know what's going to happen with it. You'll find them at your own risk, that type of thing. And there have been tough guys who jump in the ring and want to take them on. And usually they either end up unconscious or there's been loss of limbs. And a couple of people have died. And Po would probably pull you aside before all this and just like, are you sure? Are you sure you want to do this? It's, you know, it's a big deal. And he's kind of like beside himself, like try not to get hurt. Does this help somebody?
Does this help you? It would help a few people, yeah. OK, that's all we need to know. All right. I am going to get ready and set things up on this end. Yay. So this isn't just like, is it kind of like a sporting type deal, but then also the champion tends to take it a little bit more seriously than sometimes he should? Yeah, it's supposed to be basically fighting until someone quits or like becomes incapacitated. It's supposed to be like, all right, all right, stop, stop, stop. They'll call it. But in the heat of the moment. Yeah, that type of thing. A heated gaming moment.
OK, so only when he gets tilted. Would spells be considered weapons? You're allowed to use whatever. OK. Yeah, you are allowed to use whatever. Let me remember what my fighting styles are. All right. One of your attacks, you can go to sections directly. You continue to strike good. And also, for certain type of you've been up there. I remember that's sure. That's one where I stab him in the butt. I like it. I like to think that that's that's the thing that you've taught Ella during your training session. This is how to hit people. But it's like Naruto. They take the two fingers and.
Yeah, Japan, that is a playground game in Japan. That's so strange to me. It's not OK. It's not OK. I think I think we all understand that much. The most not OK thing about it is an adult has to teach the child how to play that game. I don't think children. Oh, no. So everyone can see that, correct? Yes. Yeah. All right. We're looking at now. I imagine he'd look more clunky than that because that guy looks pretty intimidating. It's pretty, pretty jacked. Yeah. To Warforged. So before you head out into this, this, this huge arena, everyone's like shouting and cheering and everything like that.
And they're chanting this warforged name because he is up until now has been undefeated. And Poe is going to tell you, he's like, OK, OK, he's really fast and he doesn't hold back anything. So just get ready for that. OK. And I'm sure you guys can handle this. Well, how do you do? I hope so. Are you ready? Yes. Ah, give me a favor. Before this started. Arrange yourselves in a basically in that spot. But how you feel like you would be arranged in a fight. Big Daddy and Merrick. Oh, I got it. I want to say the entire time to you guys are getting ready. That feeling has not left.
Kaluna, it's getting stronger. It's getting more. It's getting more pronounced like it's it's it's it's a bit more defined now. And it's it's it's been sticking with Kaluna this entire time. The last couple of days. Kaluna is going to I think because it's the strongest that it has been right now, like as they're trying to sort of like shake it off, like they're definitely like antsy, like visibly like this whole time. They've gotten like more and more fidgety. So like as they're being fidgety, they're going to like stare down the war forged. And in their mind, they're just going to brush it off as like, oh, it's because we're going to fight this guy.
It's bugging us. We're going to fight this guy. We're going to kick his ass and it's going to be fine. Can Merrick do like a perception check or something and see it? Would he notice something off or odd about Kaluna? Or is it just a little bit more just internal? It's it's mostly internal, but like it sounds like Kaluna is a little more fidgety than usual, that type of thing. But Kaluna is usually pretty fidgety. Yeah, you're not sitting still. Not much has sounded odd. OK. All right. So while you guys you guys are you're in the arena and prepared, they would ask you out first.
The the gates would open on the opposite side for Gar. And gleaming in the sun, like like it's it's it's almost one of those things you get out, like it catches the sun every once in a while. It's like, oh, shit. Like you got to turn your head away. He is going to walk slowly and you're going to hear every footstep like a chunk. Chunk, chunk as he kind of plants his feet in the sand and marches out and the crowd's going to go nuts. Everyone. OK. All right. I know I talk about wrestling a lot, but this is similar to like when Samoa Joe enters and everyone's just like, jump, jump, jump.
Kinda. Yeah, like kinda. Oh, that's so cool. Anyway, sorry. Everyone do me a favor and roll initiative. OK. I don't know. I don't know. I think we all agreed. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, God. Yes. No, we are. No. Oh, yeah. Hello, Ella. My friend. Sorry. All right. So we're doing OK. We're doing OK. Is there any sort of real quick? Sorry. Before we get started, is there any sort of like, oh, I should not even ask. Never mind. I was going to ask if there was some sort of check that she could do to remember, like maybe they got training as a white raven to fight, you know, Warforged or something.
And then I looked and I was like, your history is negative, too. Don't even fucking ask. Oh, boy. No, no. Sorry. Um, Ella Rath is going to kick us off here. Now there's these. So as he marches out, you're going to notice that there's these javelins planted in the sand all around him. Oh, hell no. OK. What is her speed? One, two, three, four. OK. She's probably actually because she can't get to him unless she double moves and she doesn't want to be the only person down there because she remembers a certain fight with like a vampire in a cave at one point where that ended poorly for her.
So she'll probably actually just move forward like so. OK, so closing the gap about halfway. Yeah. And ready for her. Oh, wow. It says here that I have the javelin as well. You know what? Let's fucking do it. Let's do it. So we're going to she's going to target him and throw the javelin, I guess. Wait, paint this picture. This is so beautiful to me. It's like everybody's standing on one end of this thing. And all of a sudden, Elrath just starts like she's she'll like rush forward and she's got this javelin that you're like, when the fuck did you get that? And she's just going to like try and like Olympian Javelin throw it at Gar.
Let's do it. OK, I think. OK. So Elrath is going to march forward a couple of steps and whip this javelin into the air and it is going to strike Gar right in the chest like that's the opening gambit. Do me a favor. Roll damage. OK. That is five damage to Gar. Nice. That was beautiful. I have the most beautiful image of that in my mind. So this is going to this is going to strike Gar right in the chest and it's going to cause an imperfection in him. And he's going to he's going to reach up and break this off and kind of stare at Elrath, almost like a dog would stare when they're trying to hear you better.
Clara, your turn. All right. I have two hand axes. If we're going to keep our distance to start, though, I'm not sure if that's super smart, considering he's surrounded with javelins. So I might. I'm going to do the same gambit that Elrath did here. What is my speed? My screen is so small right now. I don't know what happened. I think when my settings got changed. 30. So that means six. One, two, three, four. There. All right. I'm going to chuck both of these hand axes at him because I have the dual weapon thing. OK, let's do it. So let me move the map so that I can see my rolls.
Hand axe number one. Oh, yeah, that's going to hit him. And it's going to do this much damage. Oh, eight damage. Max damage. All right. And then she's going to chuck the other one. Oh, that one's going to miss. Well, I imagine she like like she kind of did a spin and threw them both at once. It's still pretty impressive. Yeah, that's very. And that's going to solid clang coming off of them. Just like you're going to. Yeah, it's definitely hit him. Right. All right. And now my hand axes are gone and I'll pick those up later. I've never used them before. So, I mean, that's pretty sweet.
Pretty cool. Oh, boy. OK, Gar's turn. Gar is going to grab one of these javelins. And he is going to whip one of them at Klara, considering I was the last person to hit him. So let's see. Javelins. 16. And that is against my AC is 16. So, OK. All right. 11 damage. All right. Good. Good. He had a fucking plus seven to the spear attack, I just realized. Oh, wow. Yeah. Well, let's try to make this quick. Yeah. Pull him out, stops. All right. OK. Then he's going to grab another one. Of course he is. And he's going to target Elorath. How dare you? Oh, oh, I'm almost certain.
Yeah, that definitely fucking hits. Can I ask how many javelins he has? So that's going to do 15 damage. Well, fuck you. And that will end Gar's turn. I'm back to the how many javelins question. They're they're kind of littering the field over there. So he's not going to run out, is the answer to that question. Not anytime soon. OK. I suggest approaching. No, no. Evelyn, you're up. Evelyn's going to he's going to run up as far as he can. So that's what, six spaces. One, two, three, four, five, six. He's a little he's a little out of reach. Not ranged. Can I do I do anything to like get his attention on me?
I don't think you have a move for that. No. I'll let you try and shout something at him, if you like. I think I would like to show Evelyn is going to shout over here as loud as he can. He's going to he's going to take a dodge action and try to garner attention by shouting. That's the end of my turn. All right. Efanny. Efanny is going to hold a hand out towards Gar and mutter an incantation and she's going to try and cast blindness on him. Oh, I believe he has to save against this. Yeah, it's a think it's a con save. Just check. Yeah. Constitution saving throw.
Yeah, he's going to he's going to save versus that. OK. As a bonus action, she will she'll give a inspiration die to Merrick. She'll sing sweet cherry pie and give him an inspiration die. Merrick, it's lame. I know. No, no, it's perfect. It's perfect. Exactly what we all needed and wanted. We didn't know until this very moment. To clarify, warrants, cherry pie. Yep. Nice. OK. Wow. Now I picture Merrick as the babe in the video that's dancing. Yeah, I just picture that exact same babe, but with Merrick's mustache. Now, Merrick, you know, thinking about cherry pie is kind of a big deal to him.
He's just thinking about all of the ingredients and everything that needs to happen to make this cherry pie. And so he gets a little erect. I'm going to be honest with you. And that really spurs him on to get close. He's going to this is about where he gets. And that's going to that is going to inspire him to use his. He's got a channel divinity. So this is like a it's like a cleric thing where he pulls out his holy symbol and he like he does like a little incantation. And what this would do if there was some sort of like magical darkness, it would dispel that darkness.
That's not really happening here. But at the same time, the other thing that it does is any hostile creature within 30 feet has to make a constitution saving throw. If it's failed, then it's a bunch of damage. OK. Yeah. Just let you know, con saves are his bread and butter. I know, but this is so cool. No, go, go for it. So I'm going to do this is him. Anything within 30 feet of me, of you. Yeah, I am very much within 30 feet of you. No, any hostile creatures. OK. All right. I mean, you might be hostile, but I didn't hear the hostile part. And I was like, Mary, could you not?
But I don't want this. I would rather you didn't. I thought we were friends. Right. Right. OK. I'm going to try it. Constitute. I mean, you never know. Constitution saving throw. That's on you, right? Let's do it. Here we go. Con saving throw. Boom. That's a nine. Yes. That'll fail, I believe. OK. And if that is the case, then we consider that a hit. Yes. OK, hang on. Let me see here. That's two. Two. Boom. It's a 2D 10 plus two. Holy shit. 18 damage to guard. Whoa. So right out of the gate trying to slam him. Is there anything else I can do or should do here? Nothing else that it done?
Should cheer to the crowd, maybe. Oh, yeah. I'm going to turn a little bit and do like a like a kind of a thing with my hands above my head. Are you not today? Also, actually, here's what here's what I really will do. If I'm anywhere close to any javelins sticking up, I'm going to I'm going to sweep my arm to like knock them down. Oh, OK. Just as a gesture of like a fuck you type of thing. Well, that and also kind of just logistically, like if it makes it harder for him to pick something up, then. All right. That's just for color. Kaluna. I don't know how I managed to spin myself, but I'm OK with it.
It does not bother me. So we're going to leave it. So are the javelins just around him or are they like all over the damn place? I'd say they're scattered about the arena. Whatever. I'm sticking to my plan. OK. So Kaluna is going to run up behind Elarath and while they're standing there, they're going to say, doing great and give her a healing word. Oh, thank you. Heal. Oh, good. Any bit helps. I will take it. That'll take off for damage. And then let me untarget you. Yes, perfect. Kaluna is going to use a spicy thorn whip. Attack. Well, 13 is going to miss. Well, so I imagine you hear that crack, though, like it's just going to crack, but just a little wide.
And that's it. That's that's all I got. All right. That'll bring up Elarath again. All right. She will probably close the gap. Boom, boom, boom. And swing at him. Yeah, she's still targeting him with her trusty flail. And I'd like to imagine that she's running and she's getting like a big two handed like swing at it. All right. Let's do it. Oh, that's a five. With a pot of this. That's so he's going to duck down as you as you swing this this flail upward. And it's just going to miss him. And he is going to grab one of these javelins next. Like he's going to reach out and like put a hand on it while you're while you're doing that.
Klara, your turn. And now that I am behind this young gentleman, I am going to hit him with my two weapons, which is basically what I do. OK, roll with advantage. Right. With advantage. So my short sword. That is a 10. That is going to miss. That does not matter. Should I spend a superiority die? I wonder. I'm going to. So a superiority die, I'm going to use my precision attack when you make a weapon attack roll against a creature, you can expend one superiority die to add it to the roll. You can use this maneuver before or after making the attack. OK. That is an attack roll.
So, yes, I can add this D8 to the roll. And the D8 is this one. 17, that'll hit 17. All right. So that will do this many damage. Right. That much. That is six damage. And then. I am going to continue attacking with advantage with my sickle. Oh, that's a crit. Nice. All right. Did anything happen because of that? Oh, my God. It did. What did you do? I'm scared. I'm scared for Gar. He's going to be dazed. Nice. In addition to in addition to the damage you're you're rolling here, he's he's going to be dazed. So he's. Yeah. Awesome. So I just do normal like attack die, though.
Yeah, it should automatically roll a crit. OK. Yep, it did. Six more damage. Gorgeous. Oh, anything else? I don't think it automatically rolled a crit three because it's one d6 plus two. But then it only did six damage. Right. It does. You roll the damage die twice. It's not. Yeah, it's not max damage. OK. Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. Yeah. Sorry. That's my first one. No. So what I want to imagine is because of the shape of the sickle, Clara went straight for the throat with it because it's kind of like curvy. And she kind of caught his throat and yanked him really hard to the point where he's like, whoa.
Oh, yeah, that's. Yeah. OK, that's good. Gar's turn. Gar's gonna target. Clara. And to try the spear attack. Oh, shit. OK, what happened to me? In addition to standard, you're going to pull a hamstring, basically. The target's load. So you just. Yeah. Oh, no. Shit, though, that is damage. Oh, wow. Oh, OK. Damage. OK, well, I'm unconscious. But that didn't kill you. God, that is that is savage. Jesus, that was almost max damage. That was max damage. Well, there's a five. Six. No, it's two D six. You're all two sixes with advantage. Oh, see this two green sixes there. Yeah. No, I see the two green sixes.
I'm looking at the five that was rolled to that got dropped. It's two. No, no, that's not how it works. You roll double the dice that you normally would and you use all of them. OK, that doesn't make any sense. That's good. That's good. Just doesn't make any sense to me because that's not how advantage worked in my brain. I am sorry. No, that's not advantage. It's a crit. That's that. That's because of the crit. Right. OK, so the green is the extra die. Yes. OK. I get it now. Yes. I swear. Yeah. I understand. Also, I'm dying. So if anyone could. Yeah. So that wasn't it didn't kill you outright or anything like that.
And then he is going to turn his attention to Ellorath. What? Rude. And roll an 18. Yeah. Yeah. Eleven damage to Ellorath. Man. Only this is a mean boy. That'll bring up Aveline. Aveline, I give you permission to stand on my body to get that advantage back because that advantage was very nice. Oh, all right. That makes sense to me. Aveline, seeing Clara go down is going to wildly sprint over her body, like as a kind of like a protection thing. But can I technically go over her spot or is she is she'd like occupying it by? I think it would occupy the space. I think it would be one of those things where you couldn't get footing.
OK, then Aveline is going to come right here instead of making an attack. He's going to like right now he has his longsword in one hand. He's going to kind of reach out with his other hand and try to grapple Gar. OK. That's a 16. Come on, come on. Acrobatics, acrobatics. I think you should use acrobatics. Going to go with athletics on this one. No, unwise. Oh, it just beat it by one. Oh, my God. Oh, this guy's nasty. Mm hmm. Aveline's feeling a little desperate, so here's what we're going to do. Oh, he he's going to spend an action surge and he's going to try it again.
He's going to reach back out and just try to wrap his arm around Gar's torso and try to pull him in. OK, come on, come on, come on. That's a 19 versus his 13. He has grappled. Yeah, yeah. And as he's grappled, Aveline is going to whisper in his ear, you will submit. Oh, I didn't realize it was this kind of game. It's got sexy real quick. Anything else? That's the end of his turn. OK, so he's grappled. Uh, Efthony, you're up. OK, that changes what I was going to do. He is grappled and dazed. Mm hmm. I'm having to rethink it. OK, instead, I'm going to move up to Elorath and give her a Cure Wounds.
I would really like to get to Clara, but I'm afraid of the attack of duty. I appreciate that. All right. Anything else? I think I had a tiny bit of movement left, so I'll just move back just one space. Just to be sure. Yeah. All right. So that is nine hit points back to Elorath. That is very much appreciated. Yes. All right. Maric, you're up. OK, I'm going to run up right next to the grappled Gar. The dazed grapple, the dappled Gar. I'm going to target his ass and I am going to use Inflict Wounds. It's a melee attack. I just have to touch him and cast it. So here we go.
I did that twice. Sorry. OK, that's going to miss. Shoot. It's a 14. Let's just do it again. Let's just do it again. No. OK. That was my best thing I can do right there. I will. No, I can't do much more than that. Yeah, I'm just going to. That's it. That was my try. All right. Kaluna, you're up. Oh, boy, I can do so many things. I have a wide variety of talents. Let's see. Do we use just diagonals count as one each or do they. OK, thank God I don't have to do math. That's one, two, three, four, five, six. Hello. And that Kaluna is going to shout out a healing word to Clara, which is not going to be much, but it's going to be something.
You're conscious. Yeah, just don't die, please. That's six. I would love to not. So back up to six health and thank you healing word for being a bonus action so I can sort of whip probably unsuccessfully again. That'll hit. Yeah. And demand. Hell, yes. That's damage. Very nice. Six damage. I love that I get no bonuses to my damage. I hate bonuses. It makes me rock hard that I just need base stats. Anything else? All right. Ella, that brings up you. OK, so since there are. Well, technically three, but two of them are standing of my allies on either side. Does that mean I would get advantage?
Yes, linking. Yes. Thank God. OK, then she's going to try again with another two handed flail attack advantage. Nice battle hits. Twenty one. All right. Demaash. Not damage. We missed this guy up. He's held. I think that's all I can do because I don't think I get any bonus actions as a barbarian. So that's it. So while Avalon is just holding on to this guy, I imagine you're just wailing on him over and over again. That'll bring up Clara. Yay. There's more teamwork. Bring it with my six hit points. I'm going to stand up. And that's my move. I'm wondering if she'd go back to just wailing on him as hard as she can to get him down or if she disengage.
I'm going to wail on him. Yes. LRF is proud of you. I have advantage. Mm hmm. Short sword. Twenty three will definitely hit. Awesome. So then. That's six more damage, six more damage. And then we're going to take that advantage again. Do the sickle. That probably didn't hit. Ten will miss. That's OK. Actually, no, it's not. I'm going to use precision attack again. OK. All right. So I get to use one superiority die. That's 12. 12 is not going to hit. That's OK. I tried my best. Yep. All right. You got to go back to bleeding. This is the most vulnerable that Gar has looked and the crowd is like reacting to this.
Like they're like, oh, like this is like they're they're losing their minds here. And that's going to bring up Gar. Gar is going to target Aveline. And try to ram a spear into him. Can he do that while grappled? Yep. That's just his speed is that like he's. Yeah. Yeah. Grapple just means they can't move. They can still attack and stuff. They just can't. That that will definitely hit. Yep. You don't know. Twelve damage. So he is going to puncture you with that spear. That is going to be that that's that's a fair amount of damage. Aveline is going to when he when he's punctured, he's going to grit his teeth.
And he's going to he's basically just going to just let out this guttural roar inside of a inside of Gar's ear. And he's going to use second wind on himself. Oh, OK. So I have to roll one d 10 plus three. Well, Jesus. So you're going to shirk this off. You're just going to look like there's nothing happened to you. Like your adrenaline's kicking in and you're just going to just just grin and bear it. Just. Yeah, we're not going to hold on to him and just like kind of wrestle him in my arm. That's the end of my turn. Oh, man. Anthony, your turn. OK. Can you slightly closer and then.
So unfortunately, it would hurt teammates. I do not want to do that. So I'm going to throw a dagger at Gar. Oh, Eleven's going to miss. Damn it. That's my turn. All right. Merrick, you're up. OK, let me explain what I'm going to do here. I'm going to try to use a command spell. I'm just to sort of pre tell you what I'm going to do. I'm going to try to command die. And for the record, when you command somebody to die, they don't actually die. They just basically fall down and play dead because it doesn't really do any damage like that. But what I'm what I'm hoping for is that you said that that basically if somebody were to like.
Roughly be about to be killed, they would like jump in and like stop it and be like, OK, OK, he wins, you know. Yeah. And what I'm hoping is that we look like we just basically flat out took care of them. Does that make sense? So let's just see if this works. OK, I'm targeting his ass again. And I'm going to do command, which is a save against his wisdom. He's going to save. No, he can't be that wise. He's a it's a plus one. He just rolled well. He just rolled really well. Also, real quick, I don't think you have command word die. Because the only ones listed here are approach, drop, flee, grovel and oh, no, it's any word you want to.
Those are just examples. You can say spin or vomit or typical man's. If you do so, the game master determines how the target behaves. So sure. And this command word die is a little bit extreme for a level three. Well, like drop would probably be right what he's going for. Just tell him to tell him down like you would a dog. Right. Or Neil or something like that. Yeah, I totally get what you're going for. There is a command word die in the books, and that's why I looked it up. So there's no way we have access to that yet. No, it's definitely a different thing.
Yeah, that's just a different thing entirely. Sorry. Totally get what you're going for. I believe that's specifically command word death. Yes. And that's like a that's a wish level thing. No, no, no. So I'm saying, yeah, so this is just like like or vomit or whatever. But you have to use one word. So traditionally in D&D, when you say command word die, it basically just makes them drop to the floor and basically just act paralyzed. Yeah. They play dead. They play dead. They don't get any damage. But you might as well say drop if you want to. That makes more sense to me.
But there is a command word death that's like level. That's why. Oh, God, no, no, no, no, no. I'm saying like this. I want to yell die. And he falls to the ground and they're like, OK, OK, OK, OK. You guys. And I'm sure that's why it exists at ninth levels, because people realized how much fun it was. And Wizards was like, yeah, let's do it. Yeah. So no, definitely not. That's not what it does at this level. So that that missed. Anyway, it doesn't matter because. I'm just going to stick around here. There's nothing else I get. There's no other attacks or anything like that right now.
So anything else that's that's it. Yeah, that's it for now. Yeah, that's it. Kelowna, your turn. I'm torn because I want to do something cool, but it takes like a whole round of setup and he'll probably be dead by then. It's presumptuous. Listen. You know what? Let's go for it. Jason, turn me into a motherfucking panther, please. I don't know how that works, but I'm just going to tell you to do it. OK, so word picture. Get Skype to stop bouncing at me first. Kelowna turns into a mountain lion because it's cool. And then they run over here. Pay no man to the man behind the curtain.
That's it. That's the turn. OK, so you're going to turn into a mountain lion and then back off, basically. OK, let's see. That will bring up Ella Rath. OK, Ella Rath is going to enter her barbarian rage and she still has advantage. So if she hits, she'll get an extra bonus to her damage. Oh, OK. So she's going to do another overhead attack at Gar. So you're just trying to club him to death base. I am. I'm just basically trying to dent his metal brain in. Oh, wow. OK. And so attack. Motherfucker, are you serious? The one it dropped was a three. So I'm like, motherfucker.
OK, that's it. Oh, I'm so sorry. No, it's OK. Clara, your turn. So plans. Plan number one. Hit this guy. It's a good plan. I'm on board. OK, so I'm going to hit him with my short sword. With advantage. I do that. I'll hit that'll hit. And then I'm going to bam, bam. There's some damage for you. Seven damage, seven damage. And then I am going to use commanding strike. When you take the attack action on your turn, you can forgo one of your attacks, which I have two of. And use a bonus action to direct one of your companions to strike. When you do so, choose a friendly creature.
You can see her here. That would be Ella Rath and expand one superiority guy. That creature can immediately use its reaction to make one of to make one weapon attack, adding the superiority die to the attack damage role. This effectively gives your ally a chance to attack on there on your turn, which allow use for any turn based benefits, including sneak attack. So let me roll that superiority guy for you so you can add it to your attack. Nice. Wait, that shouldn't be possible. My superiority dies d8. I rolled the wrong one. I am sorry. Now it's going to suck.
Now it's going to be the worst. One. I knew it. I knew it. I am sorry. That's OK. Add that one to your attack. OK. Would I still have advantage? I believe so. OK. Here we go. 16 will hit. Yeah. Does that just hit? Because I'm pretty sure it just hit. So that plus one saved me. OK, so now I see a bonus to the damage role that increases you get. OK, so it's going to be a plus three bonus since I'm a level three by barbarian. So here we go. Motherfucker. Oh, well, that's fine. Yay. And I have one more thing. Second wind is a full action, right? Believe so. Yes. So if I use action surge, can I use my second wind?
An action surge gives you another full action. So, yeah, I believe so. Awesome. I'm going to use both of those. The second wind is one d10 plus my fighter level. And I don't see a button for that. So if I just rolled that d10, which I definitely know which die it is. OK, so it's this plus three. Yay. So nine. Nine. I get nine health. All right. Gotcha. I'm slightly less dying. All right. That will bring up Gar. Gar has had enough of this shit. Gar is going to take the sphere and try to ram it into Avalon repeatedly. 18. 13 damage. This is incredibly rude. And he's going to pull back and there's going to be blood on the spear and he is going to try and ram it up into Avalon once again.
That's a crit. Oh, no. Oh, boy. OK, so let's do that damage. 17 damage to Avalon. So that is going to drop Avalon. Gar is no longer, no longer grappled. And that will bring up. Oh, that'll bring up Avalon. You just got knocked out. It's your turn. Yeah. Get him, Avalon. So that's one failure on the death saving throw. Yep. That's one. Is Anthony your turn? I'm going to move straight up to Avalon and cast your wounds. OK. But that. I can. Nine. Anything else? No, that's it. All right, Merrick, you're up. OK, here's what I'm going to do. Finish this off targeting Gar. I'm going to cast Scorching Ray.
OK, Scorching Ray. OK, Scorching Ray, basically because my cleric stuff is all about light, I basically just can lift up my hands and cast a spell and three rays of light are going to come out of my hands and go straight at his chest. If there were more than one attacker, I could put those three rays in different places. But I'm going to do all three straight in the middle of his chest. All right. Good luck. Thanks. Fourteen is going to miss. We hit. Hit. You mean hit. Don't you still have a advantage? Yes, I do. Which is a d6 to add to a roll. I believe I do know it's you roll twice and take the higher.
Yes, you have advantage because me and Alarath are surrounding him. Everyone gets advantage. I was not thinking. OK, so just what needs to happen here. One second. Efni, I did believe gave Bardic a d6. He could add the d6 to that. Oh, yeah, that too. So you get to reroll and add a d6. Seventeen. That'll hit. That too. That also works. Everything works. Whatever I needed to do. And now here we go. That will hit. And eight more damage to Gark. Gar's looking shaky. Gar's getting to the point now where it's a little more desperate. There was a he was a bit more selfish or in his attacks and things.
Now it's getting like, get the hell off of me, everybody. Like it's getting a little more desperate. Anything else? No, that's it. Kaluna, your turn. OK, quick clarification before I do my thing. I get the cool shit that the animal gets, right? Define that. They have a little move called pounce. If the panther moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature right before hitting it with the claw attack, the target must succeed on a DC 12 strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the panther can make a bonus action to make one bite attack against it.
I'm going to say yeah. Go ahead. OK, we're going to do that shit. We're going to go to. I give up. I give up on the board. That's fine. And well, that's not going to hit. Not that eight. So Kaluna is a cool thing where they run and they leap and they just fucking they land in front of him. We get a finish. So try it one more time. Oh, that's right. Remember how I made a point to ask about that and then immediately forgot about it? Sixteen will hit. Hell yes. OK, so claws. Claws are one D four plus two. Five damage, five damage to Gar. And then a bonus bite attack.
I assume I still have to roll for that. Yeah, that'll hit. Twenty two. Hell yeah. And that. Four damage to Gar. That's going to down Gar. Yeah. All right. But that's a super cool way for him to go. Yeah, just charges, hits him, bites him. Goodbye. So that you're going to hear horns kind of Blair just kind of signifying the end. It's like, OK, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop. Absolutely going to do that bullshit thing that they do in the movies. And they're just going to stretch up their head and roar. Mountain lions don't really roar. So it's it's going to have the visual impact.
Right. It sounds like a baby. It sounds like a plant roaring, honestly. Well, I'll tell you what's going to roar this crowd. This crowd's going to roar and go nuts because, again, Gar's never been defeated in the arena. They're going to come out and check on him, kind of cart him off the battlefield. And like that, even the even the guys coming out are going to like, oh, good job. Wow. This, you know, that that type of thing. And that's going to take you guys out of combat. I would imagine you're you're going to stand here and kind of bask in this for a few minutes.
They're going to toss stuff down to the ring, not like junk, not like throwing things at you, but like you'll like this. There'll be like coins and stuff like that. Like, is there a brassiere? Specifically one for Clara? A thong lands on Merrick's head and he looks over and avalanche winks. I don't know what that is, but I assume it's a good thing. Oh, man. Kaluna. Before you ruin this for them, they look smug as hell. Like at first they were like posing on him, but like after everyone, after he got carted away, they're just sort of like they're sitting there.
They're like they're doing the house cat thing where they're licking their paw and just grooming themselves like, mm hmm. No big deal. Do this every day. Merrick's going to grab Kaluna for a bear hug real quick, like a quick bear hug. Oh, absolutely. Oh, my God. That's going to look so cute, though. There's still a cat. So I imagine you guys get you know, you're kind of after a while, you're ushered back to the car. It's like, OK, you can leave. Thank you so much. That type of thing. And Poe's going to thank you guys profusely. Just like that was amazing. Kaluna.
That feeling has not gone away. That impending dread that something's wrong. And it's going to get even more defined. And it's going to it's it's going to feel like your people somehow or another are in danger. Like there is something specific, like it feels specific now. Like there's a there's a direct tie. It's like, oh, that's why I feel this way, because the fight's over and you still feel it. Yeah, I think. Yeah. After basking in the glory for a minute, like the sort of adrenaline wears off and so it comes back. And so they'll. Yeah. So Kaluna is going to turn back and they're trying to like keep smiling and like pumping their arms, you know, just trying to keep up the mood.
Yeah, they're just they look distressed, I think is a good word. Would that be visible to the rest of the party? I think so. They're not like I said, they're not good at lying. They have a negative one charisma modifier. I mean, I guarantee Merrick would if Merrick were to even see Kaluna would know something was up. Right. I guarantee. But I would imagine. I think they know each other well enough at this point. So I can imagine the scene where all this stuff's happening on the crowds going wild. Wait, no, we're actually kind of being carted out, right? Yeah, kind of like eventually.
Yeah, I'd say that's after a few minutes of celebrating and stuff. OK. I mean, Merrick would. We've noticed something's not right. Like maybe it's like, are you OK? Did you get hit? And we didn't know it or. You know, I mean, like, are you wounded? But but he would be like, are you OK? Kaluna. Kaluna is going to like start to fake a smile at him, but then they're going to be like fucking it's Merrick. And there I think they're actually going to just sort of like lean on him a little bit and they're going to say, we don't. We don't know what's happening. Something's wrong, but we don't know what.
Did you did you get hit or you wanted? Do you need? No, no. Something's wrong at home. At home at. In the glade. And Kaluna will nod. What how do you. How what do you mean? Like how long? What's happening? I don't understand. We don't we don't know what's happened. We just. Something's wrong and we know it. And they're going to sort of like pound their fist over their chest. Oh. And Merrick will have had some experience with that because of the evergreen. Right. And in the poll, I mean, I think that's something Merrick would know. Oh, like it's something's happening now.
Kaluna will nod again. And they're like they're trying to keep engaged with the conversation, but now that they figured out what's been bugging them, they're clearly like not all there. OK, OK. Focus. Look at me. Look at me. I'm here. I've got you. You're safe. What what do you need? What do you need right now? Oh, no. I just I did a gesture because I was like, this is what Kaluna is going to do, but they don't have hair. So I think Kaluna is just going to think in the like sort of. Sort of slap themself in the face, you know, just like a little like trying to get themselves focused.
We don't we don't know what we need. We think we need to go back. We need to go home. We need to see what's happening. Just like they're trying to like calm themselves down, make like a plan of action. OK, so Merrick's going to see like the panic and the anxiety. And say, OK, OK. All right. Let's let's get somewhere. Let's let's get back. Let's go back to the temple. We've got to we've got to calm everything down and figure out what what you need. OK, can we can we do that? Kaluna will just nod really sharply and then they're going to sort of cup their hands over their mouth and try to like try to do some breathing exercises that they've seen Merrick do.
So where are we exactly? Are we sort of like underneath or like coming out of some entrances and within the Coliseum or are we back in the city or? Yeah, I mean, picture it picture kind of underneath the Coliseum type of thing. So they would escort you out. Yeah. Yeah. And it would be it would be a bit of a march, but you could get back to the temple in like 20, 25 minutes. So, OK, Merrick's going to grab everybody or whatever, like as everybody's sort of moving through and be like, we've got to get back to the temple and he's going to be holding Kaluna almost like Kaluna has been wounded.
But he's going to try to make gestures like we need to get to the temple and he's going to kind of be like, it's OK, it's OK. Like, you know, you know, who's not hurt, but we've got to get back to the temple. Have you ever been traveling and like like you're at the airport and like you have to run to get to your terminal because planes are bullshit? That's basically what Kaluna is like right now. They are rushing to get to their plane. OK, with that in mind, I think Merrick will be like, we're going straight there. Just come back to the temple. And if Merrick needs to keep up with Kaluna, then that's fine.
Yeah, Kaluna will like try to slow themselves down. But I think it's one of those things where like you can tell when they're paying attention because like they'll slowly speed up, but then they'll suddenly slow down like, oh, shit, I'm going too fast. Right. So I don't know what the rest of the group is doing, but I feel like Merrick, whatever Merrick is doing, as he's sort of holding on to Kaluna and trying to help, he's kind of giving like thumbs up, like it's OK. Don't you know, I got this kind of a thing. It's not it's a personal issue, not a not a not a fight issue.
What would everybody else be thinking or doing? Probably just like following along like, oh, shit, we have to go. OK. Yeah, I mean, Evelyn still pretty hurt and he just woke up, so he's a little disheveled, but he's trying to grasp what's going on. He's just trying to like follow behind, hurriedly. Efthon is probably trying to help Evelyn along, which is probably looking kind of concerned. She's probably gathering that there's something wrong, which is not quite sure what. Yeah, I feel like Elarath is doing the same where she's listening intently to the conversation and it's one of those things where I'm not entirely certain what's happening here, but I'm deriving from context.
And she kind of, based on everything they've said, kind of gets the whole picture. Kalluna is from the Evergreen, something I mean, not the Evergreen, Kalluna is from the Silverglade, something's wrong there. Kalluna wants to go. I feel like she wouldn't say anything so much as just like, listen. OK, I think we just need to get to the temple. I mean, I don't think anything's going to happen between the colosseum and the temple unless we have a random encounter with a purple worm or something. Nope. The whole party is devoured. Let's say you get back to the temple.
Yeah. Just trying to get back to like a room, like a safe room, right? Merrick's going to be trying to just sit with Kalluna, like cross-legged in front of Kalluna, both of them together, and just very, very super focused, super present. What do you need? What do you need to do? Kalluna's just sort of like, they're trying to channel Merrick's calm. Like they don't have any, so they're just like, if I just talk the same way that Merrick does, maybe it'll be OK. So they're just going to take a deep breath. We need to get our things together. Find a way to get out of here and like at that they're sort of like their calm shakes a little bit because no way in hell are they going through the desert again.
Then we need to get to the glade and fix it. OK. What do you need me to do? That's going to snap Kalluna out of it a little bit, and they're going to blink a couple times and they're going to look at him. You're not doing anything. We're going. You can stay and help these guys or go do something. You can't come with us. Why can't I come with you? I'm not letting you do this alone. Merrick and they're going to grab his face and just get like. I think like Kalluna and Merrick have had like very close, like face to face talks. But this is this definitely has like a different air to it when they get up in his face.
The glade is where people die. Merrick, you can't come with us. I think normally Merrick would argue and try to sort of explain more to Kalluna, you know, like, come on. But this is not how it works. But I think the way that Kalluna is trying to speak to Merrick would be so direct and out of the ordinary that he would be shocked into just saying, OK, OK, if that's what you need. I think Kalluna is going to actually relax after that. Like they didn't realize it was something they were worried about. But now they're like, OK, OK. And they're going to they're going to take the silver dagger out and they're going to flip it and offer the help to Merrick.
Merrick is going to this is like he's kind of in shock, like it's going to feel like, whoa, this is not this isn't just like I'm going to see you later. Like this is this is a much bigger deal. So he's going to just very slowly take the dagger. He's processing all of this and but take the dagger and it's like dawning on him that this is actually a huge deal. Not like I feel uncomfortable, but like I need to do this now and you're not going to stop me and this is what's going to happen. And it's going to it's going to be really, really, really big slap for Merrick.
But he gets it. OK. OK, well, if what you need is to get to the silver glade, then we need to find a way to get you to the silver glade safely. Now, is that right? Kalluna will nod, but they'll also sort of put a hand on just whatever they reach, just sort of instinctively stopping him before we do that. Just be careful, OK? If if you ever if you ever really, really need anything and they're going to sort of clearly laughing at themselves because this is ridiculous. If you if you ever need something bad enough, you'll you'll know where to find us. You know, I just keep imagining Merrick's face is just like utter like the blood has drained from his head.
Like this is like out of nowhere that he feels like he's losing Kalluna. Yeah, I I know where to find you. I'll be safe. But you have to be way safer than me, OK? We will. OK. Hey, Merrick. Yeah. If we if we never see you again, just know that you're you're the most important person we've ever met. You know that, right? Merrick's just going to slowly nod. And and he's going to grab Kalluna's hands and just squeeze. And. And say. There's never been anyone as important as you. So never forget it and make sure everybody. Back home knows that that's true. OK. Kalluna is going to sort of wipe it their eyes and take it deep.
Just sort of shuttering breath. They're going to nod and smile up at him. Got it. OK, so at this point, Merrick is. I don't know that we need to role play all of this kind of thing, but here's what I would want Merrick to do. He's going to just like get up and he's going to try to take care of finding out how to to get Kalluna to the Silver Glade. And I think the first person he would go try to find is Po and basically say, I need you to help me right now. And see if he can pull any strings or whatever it might be to like find something like a caravan that's going out or something that's going to be not like not like a cart with a barrel of water, but something that's taking going in that direction.
Something safe. Yeah. Yeah. Someone who knows the way, something safe, something secure. And I that there'd be there'd be things like that going in and out of the city pretty regularly now that the city's got a better reputation. So I don't think that would be a problem at all to set up. I'm hoping that we have a little bit of capital with having just done everything with Gar and yeah, just like I know, you know, I know we didn't have to do that, but I'd really love a favor. Right. And just basically set that up. Definitely. Like it's like, hey, I'm calling in a favor.
It's like, yeah, that would definitely be fairly easy for him to set up. Okay. Yeah, that's basically it. I don't know how long that would take. I'm sure that wouldn't be just like in the next 10 minutes, but no, it'd probably take about a day to set up. Yeah. In the meantime, I think it would just be staying close to Kaluna. Yeah. In that meantime, I think Kaluna would, they don't have many affairs, but they would get what affairs they have in order. Just like writing some really quick notes to everyone they know and sort of entrusting Merrick with them.
Like you get these people because I'm not going to have time. Yep. Yep. No doubt. I think actually once they ran out of things that they could do for themselves, they would start like, they would have all that anxious energy and so they'd sort of direct it to trying to help other people out like, hey, what do you need? Do you need like, I can't make food but I like I could do other things. Do you need this window scrubbed? Do you need your boots shined? Just like anything to get rid of this anxious energy. I can imagine the temple is spotless. Absolutely.
And speaking of food, I think whatever he could manage to get together in the temple, he would go get some supplies or whatever and basically just try to make sure that Kaluna had every bit of their favorite treats and snacks and everything for the road. And that's basically it. Yeah. I would say that a day later on the 27th, everything would be set up. There's a caravan going out. And unless anybody has anything else to say, I think that's a good time for us to stop for the evening. Oh, no. Oh my God. Oh, God. I got closer to crying when I was doing the fake crime than I expected.
And I was like, abort, abort. That was beautiful, though. Good job. That was a good send off, though. Yeah. Man, I hope you guys enjoyed today's groups. The episode Mac will be on extended rest. We'll be one of the panel members on February 23rd at 9 p.m. Eastern on our Twitch channel. Obviously, you guys are going to have questions and stuff like that. We're going to answer all of them and hopefully do a good job at that. Of course, we are supported by you guys on Patreon at patreon.com/dandr. It is a monumental help that you guys provide to us and allow us to do this week in and week out.
Thank you all so much. We'd love to make the show even bigger and better this next year. If you don't know about our Patreon, we do all kinds of different shows like Living in Theria where we answer questions about a person, place or thing. Right now there's a poll up on our Patreon if you'd like to go vote on that. We also do like an Inside the Actors Studio thing called Character Chat where we sit down with a random cast member each month. This month it's going to be Kelsey. So if you have questions for Kelsey, send them in and we'll try to get to them and do a little chat.
There's a ton of other stuff up there too. So please, if you get the time, go to patreon.com/dandr. Check that out. Obviously your iTunes reviews also help us out. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter. All of that is exceptionally helpful. Thank you all so much and we're going to see you next week with a brand new episode and I hope you guys enjoy it. Thank you.
