Welcome to Very Random Encounters, where we play tabletop RPGs and randomly determine as much as possible. Remember playing with Legos and swapping the people's heads and limbs to create horrid abominations that God forgot?

Our show is what it would be like if those rejected attempts at the human form had to go out and save the day. We turn the nonsense into a story with a nice message, like how friendship is stronger than a mind-controlled goblin jazz band. Hey, that's a thing that really happened. Find Very Random Encounters wherever you randomly determine to listen to podcasts. Ark 2, episode 34 of the DNR Podcast is brought to you today by Dice Envy. DiceEnvy.com has a massive selection of dice, both acrylic and metallic. Now they feature tiny dice, which are just about half the size of a regular set of acrylic dice.

They're gold and beautiful. I highly suggest you go check them out at DiceEnvy.com right now. You will not regret it. I know a ton of you. I've already purchased from them. They're a great company and honestly we can't recommend them enough. Visit DiceEnvy.com today and check them out. Before we get on with today's episode, just a reminder, every episode in May was recorded live at Theoryathon. There might be just a hint of a beep or a boop, something like that from the Twitch chat in the background every once in a while. There's nothing wrong with your podcast app that's just from the recording.

Now we try to get rid of these as much as possible as to not break immersion, but there were a couple that just had to remain in the show. We're also currently trying to climb up the ranks in iTunes, so if you haven't subscribed to us yet or you haven't rated us on iTunes, please swing on by there or wherever you get your podcast. Give us a rating, give us a subscription, and that will help us more than you could possibly know. We're currently ranked 16th on iTunes and we're really trying to climb those charts. If you search for Dungeons & Dragons, we're there, but we're lower.

With your help we can fix that and climb all the way to the top. Thank you guys so much, and without further ado, please enjoy the show. Previously for Group B, the team found a young lady lost in the Deadwood with no memory of who she was or where she came from. Giving her the temporary name of Rose, they decided to continue through the Divide as it wasn't safe to stay there any longer than necessary. After being attacked by an orc ambush, Rose was hurt. She fell to the ground and began to transform into… something. And that's where we're going to pick things up today.

Let's join Group B now. Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason, I'm the Dungeon Master, going around the table starting with Karen. Hi, I'm Karen and I play Callie, the Druid Elf. And Valerie. Hi, I'm Valerie and I play Elena, the Human Fighter. And Jameson. Hey, it's Jameson. I play Larg, the Half-Orc Paladin. And Jamie. Hi there, I'm Jamie. I play Tatyana, the Human Rogue. And Alex. Hey, I'm Alex and I play Brelin, the Halfling Bard. And Ian. I'm Ian and I play the Half-Elf Sorcerer. No, his name ain't baby. It's Cauldron.

Miss Halek if you're nasty. I thought we stopped you. (Laughter) You only fueled me. You only made me stronger. We were fools. (Laughter) Well, you guys have, you are faced with, you're faced with a couple of choices right now. Previously, as you guys know, you were traveling with a young lady that you sort of renamed Rose. She has no memories of what happened to her before waking up in the forest. And she basically has no idea how she got there, what's going on, anything like that. You got into a fight with some orcs, which you handled really well. Congratulations, everything went swimmingly there for the most part.

They landed a couple of solid hits, but nothing you guys couldn't take. Sadly, during the fight, Rose looked increasingly sick, sweaty, just looked like her composure was falling to pieces. After the fight, she dropped to her hands and knees and started to retch like she was going to vomit. You guys kind of gave her a bit of a wide berth. Who was it that kneeled down to check on her? I believe it was Callie. No, definitely wasn't Callie. I believe it was Callie. So Callie's going to be the closest to Rose, just to paint a picture here. And everyone else was kind of scattered around the battlefield here.

And she is going to start to transform. And this is, I would say, it takes a couple of seconds to realize what's happening. Because at first it just looked like her muscles are contracting like she's going to throw up. Which is, I mean, common if you get sick outside and stuff. People who travel in weather and stuff like that. You guys have seen this before. Then her fingers, her digits are going to start to elongate. And her fingernails are going to be replaced with talons. And she's going to stretch out real American Werewolf in London style. Like we're talking.

Yes, yes. I'm so glad you said that. Oh, no problem. And her face is going to start to elongate. And her back is going to arch like one of those Halloween cat cutouts. And the ridges of her spine are going to grow and transform and start to morph. And by the time I would say that you actually, you know what? Callie. Yeah. Do me a favor. Roll an intelligence check. Intelligence. Ooh, why? Ooh! Callie is going to start to piece this together. I would say the fastest just being the closest to it. It's like, oh, OK, she is not getting sick. Something else is happening.

That type of thing. How would Callie react to this? OK, like how fast is this? Is this like like a druid transforming fast or like faster or maybe like a little longer? I would say that this this happening the way it is. She's part way in between to change. If you had to put a percentage on it, probably 33 percent somewhere in there. And this happened in the matter of, I would say, two to three seconds. OK. Oh, boy. Quick. So like if she would back up immediately and she would she would like almost shout, just somebody knock her out. She's changing into something.

So maybe somebody with a giant shield or something. Yeah. Marge, if I remember correctly, he dropped his weapon and shield during the fight with the orcs, but he is going to basically run forward and sort of jump on or tackle Rose and try to grapple her. Oh, OK. So that's all right. Let's play around with this. So what the rest of the party's pretty OK in character, would you be more shocked? Would you want to spring into action? Larg seems to be the first one out of the gate. He's like, oh, shit, like he's on top of it. I feel like Braelyn might have wanted to take a shot.

But then knowing that, like, Larg jumps in the way, it's kind of like he can't. I would assume I can't see. I don't have a clear shot. So I would be holding the hand crossbow, but I wouldn't be able to get a good shot. I would just be like, I get out of the way. But like, you know, OK, that's about all. That's all I think. That's all Braelyn would be able to get out in time because it's like right after the fight. I think. Yeah. I would honestly be shocked and sort of like backing away from this situation. OK. Cauldron is going to he's going to see this and he's definitely going to be shocked.

This is shocking. And he's going to see Larg like run up and grab Rose. And he's going to try to go over and get in front of Rose so we can see her eyes. All right. Let's do this first. Let's deal with this Larg thing, because obviously she's stationary. She's not running or going anywhere. So Larg, do me a favor and give me a check for Graveling. So that's just a strength check, I think. I believe so, yes. Always. Oh, hold on. Hold on. Oh, what's that versus? Oh, I always forget the exact rules for Graveling. I think it might be. Yeah, athletics or acrobatics, something like that.

I would say athletics then just because and trust me, she's not going to. She's she's she's disposed right now. So let's let's let's do this. Let's let's have Rose do something. Rose. Oh, well, that's the math. I don't want that right now. So wow. Yeah, that's not going to be much. So nope, that doesn't beat that. So you have your grappling. So what is it that you want to are you just trying to wrestle her to the ground? Are you just trying to restrain her? How are you grappling? So basically what he does is he sort of pulls her into like a bear hug or maybe even like a full Nelson type thing and puts her between him and the rest of the group so that they're facing sort of the rest of the party and he's he's sort of just growling.

It's like get her under control. You got to calm her down. OK, here's what I'm going to allow in the time it took to do that. She's continuing to transform. So I'm going to give one of you one chance to do something here. I think it should be the fastest person technically. It was a it would not be tardy. I don't know if I'm I'm going to I'm going to call out to her. Colton's going to call out to her. He's going to say her name, Rose, and try and see if he can get her attention, basically, like if she reacts to that. And that's that's what you're attempting right now, just to try and get her to like.

Yeah, I get to see if there's any recognition there, basically. OK, so here's what I'm going to do. She's pretty far gone at this point. I'm going to roll a flat d20 because she has no modifier for this, but it's essentially like a con save type of thing. I would say if she rolls a 16 or higher, then there is something in Rose that's going to be able to kind of latch onto that humanity and just try to shake this off. Otherwise she is going to finish the transformation. All right. That sounds fair. All right. Let's cross our fingers. I don't want to look. Oh, no.

One hundred percent monster. Dang it. Well, that's a two for everybody out there. Here's what's going to happen. Larg is going to be lifted off the ground slowly as she continues almost a scoliosis type of back arch type of thing. And she is going to continue to grow larger and furrier. I feel like we've put this off long enough. What I'm going to do is I'm going to give Rennie an open a map for you guys. Let me try. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So can I ask, I don't know if if Larg would be able to see it from from where he is, but what does this thing look like? Oh, good question.

So like what's going on? OK. How many? Let's see. How many of you have? Everybody do me a favor. Give me a nature check. OK. How is my nature so low? I don't know. Tight. I don't know. None of us know this. Well, no, I would say Larg. Larg and Tatiana probably have a pretty, pretty good idea what's going on here. First of all, it's a it's a human being, a person changing into something else right off the bat. Like there's all kinds of stories and stuff like that. Usually it's demonic possession or something like that. But this is clearly werewolf. I would say what you would know about a werewolf essentially is a regular everyday person.

Most races can be affected by this. It's it's it's not a disease, but a curse. And there's pretty much only one, quote unquote, cure for lycanthropy. And that's death, at least recorded in books that you've read. Hell yes. That's not a good cure. That's not a good cure. That's a bad cure. It's like 70 percent of the time it works all the time. Yeah. All right. Fair enough. You got me. Oh, my goodness. So we've got a bit of a problem here, obviously. I'm hugging a werewolf. You're hugging a werewolf. So what I'm going to do, right, like we can put that to bed, right?

It's definitely lupine. It's a werewolf, but very jagged in terms of like there's almost like. Like bone sprouts coming out from the spine and like it's just it doesn't look like what you think a werewolf for the most part, big, furry, sharp teeth, claws, of course. Yeah, it looks very wolfen in nature. But the little bone protrusions are like, oh, I didn't read about that. That's weird. That's an interesting new take on it. I would say this thing is standing at a good seven and a half to around seven, nine somewhere in there. Feet tall. Oh, just that. Just that.

If you had to put my actual height. Yes. Oh, my goodness. All right. Give me one second. I'll I'll get this going for you. How many Brailens is that? Like four? Oh, my God. Ten. That's like ten. I think I wrote down his height. I did not. I wrote height short. Wow. I guess a full foot taller than Mark. That ain't great. No, it's not my it's not the best. Ideal. So while I'm back here, I'm just going to whisper sweet nothings in her ear. OK. Try and calm her down. Hopefully that'll do it. Down girl, down girl, down. Easy, easy, easy. Sit. Stay. May I move Tatiana back since I said she backed up?

Yes, you can. OK. Down girl. Sorry, guys. Is everyone else comfortable with their positioning on the map? Elena was one I was a little I was a little fuzzy on. I backed you up like a space. Why, I feel like I remember saying that I was where is she, though? I don't see her. Oh, you're sorry. Let me do that. Oh, large. Yes, of course. Two by two. Everything. Two by two and hands of blue. That sounds about right, though. I think that's where I was. Yeah. OK. That feels great. Here's what I'd like to do. One, I want everybody to do me a favor and roll initiative. And then we're going to take a quick bathroom break for Karen.

Oh, I actually went while you're going to hear. OK, cool. I'm going to sneak. Oh, my God. Ty. OK, let's roll for let's roll for Rose. Oh, wow. She's dead last. Good. All right. And see, I didn't see her roll. Something like that. I just popped up in the initial. I don't know. Well, she's dead. But in the end, the grappling like makes a lot of sense now. Because she's last. Nice. That makes sense. Yeah, it does make sense. I know we took a little walk for that one, but I'm glad we made it to the end. I'm glad we're all here. Oh, what is this evening? This is a blood moon.

This is all right. Are we ready? Are we prepared? OK. OK, lark. OK, so I'm going to describe what I want to do and you can tell me if it's possible or what I should roll. So he's dangling, what, like six inches off the ground? Yeah, something like that. OK, so I want him to kind of swing his legs to try to like get his weight back and get his feet back on the ground. OK. And if he's able to do that, I want him to suplex this werewolf. Is that reasonable? Can I do that? Yes. So you want to take Rose to suplex city is what I'm hearing. Yeah. And if I can roll over and do a second one, that'd be fine too.

I'll stick with one if I have to. Wait, can someone describe to me which one a suplex is? Best, best, best way I can describe it is picture lark standing directly behind Rose. Yeah. Arms wrapped around her waist and then tilting his body backwards, angling Rose over his head and dropping her on the back of her neck. Right. OK. OK, I know that one. OK. This is interesting. I really need this to work. I think we all need this to work. Come on dice. I'm going to combine. Let's do this. Give me an athletics check. OK. Then I have. Let's see what happens here. I'm interested.

Yes. All right. OK. All right. Do me a favor. Give me one more athletics check because I want to see something. OK, here's what we're going to do. Lark is going to. I'm going to say that this is all one graphic. Now, I don't want this to set a precedent, but because that road was so high, I'm going to do this. And because this is a dire situation, I'm going to say that in one swift motion, Lark is going to basically let go, drop down and kind of chain the grapple down, if that makes sense. Like you're not completely letting go of Rose, just like sliding down and just now you got her around the waist.

OK. And you are going to tilt backward using all of your might and you are going to drop Rose on her shoulders and neck and head and it's going to thud into the ground. This dirt is just going to kick up. She's going to lose her fucking mind the second she loses contact with the ground. The second her hind legs, her feet are off the ground. She's going to start just clawing and scratching at the air. Obviously, this isn't going to strike you because we're behind her. That is one of the safest spots to be around. A werewolf is directly behind. Lark is going to keep the hold.

All right. Now, I'm going to give you a choice. Either you can just keep this grapple and Rose will be prone and you can give your party the advantage here. Or you can try and roll through and suplex her one more time. Before you do anything, do me a favor and give me a D6+2. That's how much damage you're going to do. All right. You can do that. Oh, shit. That is seven damage to Rose. Do I feel like if I rolled through this and did a second suplex that... I cannot believe we're having this conversation, but yes. I know. Do I think that I would lose my grip then?

There's a chance that that could happen based on how hard she is struggling and kicking. Okay. Second question. Am I rolling towards or away from the rest of the party? I would say at this point, Rose would be on this side of you. Okay. That's after the first two. That's after the first one. Yeah. So you are going to... you are behind her and I'd say the party would watch as she angles in the air, lands on her back and neck and just starts wildly flailing and everyone just leans back like, "Oh, shit." Oh my gosh. All right. I'm going to hold her there then because one, I'm going to flatten Braelyn if I roll again.

Okay. And two, I think that's a good spot for everybody else to take a shot. Well, they got front row seats. Oh my God. That was amazing. I guess that's my turn. I guess so. Well, good luck topping that. Braelyn. Okay. I did not want her this close to me. Sorry. It's okay. What's his problem? We can't talk about it. That's what that means. It's fine. It makes sense. I want to cast my new toy, Brain. Brain on her. Brain. So, I can target her with three creatures, but I'll just pick her. Yeah, that makes sense. And she has to make Charisma saving throws. Whenever she fails a saving throw, or she has to make saving throws whenever she makes an attack roll or a saving throw for up to a minute.

And if she fails, she must roll a d4 and subtract that from the number rolled for the attack or saving throw rule. Oh, you're going to have to break that down for me every time I do something. That's fine. I have the card in front of me. I will remember. Sweet. Yeah. So, it says, one thing I like about the spell, one of the main reasons I picked it was because the components are a drop of blood. So, I imagine Braelyn bites his thumb a la Naruto. When he plays his instrument, that's how he uses the spell. Like, he casts it using the blood and his loot. Don't fear the reaper.

Is that what you're playing? He just keeps playing it. And he's worried because she's swiping at him. And that is my action. I'm going to, if I move away, she gets a swipe, right? Yeah, but it's with disadvantage because she's on the ground. That's still very risky. That's becoming, that's one step away from becoming a werewolf. It's a scratch, not a bite. Oh, well then Braelyn will hop away. Okay, let's take a swipe. Let's take a swipe at the Braelyn. Oh, and if she hits me, I have to roll the concentration for the spell. Ooh, wouldn't that suck. That would suck.

Well, let's, okay, disadvantage firstly. Yeah. So, we are just going to, it's just a claw attack. 12 versus Braelyn's AC. That's a miss. That's pretty close though. So, you guys close on a five. Whoa. As you back up, she is going to, again, these are just wild random strikes out and trying to stand up and get her bearings. So, this is just a happenstance that it gets close to you. Good. I'm not sure if I have to make her save out of this. That'll bring up Callie. Hey Callie. Hi. I'm so nervous. Got this. I have a spell and the wording is so vague, again. All my spells are so vague.

So, I don't know if it does damage this round or when she stars her next turn. But Callie is going to cast Moonbeam. So, it's like the silver beam of light that shines down on her. It says, until the spell ends, dim light fills the cylinder. When a creature enters the spell area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it's engulfed in ghostly flames that cause searing pain and they must make a constitution saving throw. So, I think that means she takes damage now? No. No. Okay. Because she's not entering it, she's there so she'll start her turn in the circle.

Okay. So, it doesn't do anything right now. There's just this like moonbeam on her. But when she starts her turn, she has to make a constitution saving throw. It says, if they are a shape changer, they do it with a disadvantage. So, I'm assuming that she's a shape changer? Yes. Okay. But if she fails, she reverts back to original form. Ooh. So, that is so cool. That's very cool. That could cut this fight down considerably. Right. So, I'm going to check that off. Just know that it's there. Alright. Wow. Okay. What kind of saving throw was it, Callie? Constitution. When does she have to do that?

At the start of her turn. When she takes damage. Because she's going to get a minus 1d4 if she fails a charisma. Plus disadvantage. Yeah. We got her. We got her. Geez. That's stacking the odds against her. God, I hope it works. We'll see. Okay. That's it for me. I'm interested. Alright. Kaladin. Let's see. That was really cool, Karen. And I wanted to... Thanks. I want to do something off of that, but it doesn't start until the top of the turn. Yeah, but you can see the light shining down on her, though. Okay. I think Kaladin is going to see this, like, suplex and see this werewolf just, like, wham!

Like, slam down in front of him. And this has all happened in, like, matters of seconds. So, he's just, like, a little bit dazed out of it. He is going to back up, I think, back here. And I think just fire some icicles. I think that's all he'll kind of think to do is just, like, point out his hand. And a couple of these, like, icicles form around him, sort of like in a halo, and then go firing out at Rose on the ground. So, let's see. Alright, so I'm going to shoot these icicles, four of them, with the second level spell slot. Boom, boom, boom, boom. Let's see. 13 damage. 13 damage, yeah.

Very nice. That'll be his turn. Alright. Tatiana, how would Tati be feeling about all this? Tatiana is probably in legitimate shock, and because of that, I think she's going to delay. Wow, okay. Alaina, your turn. Okay, I think, because Alaina sort of knew that something was up, but, you know, Karen's thing is super cool, but Alaina doesn't know what it's supposed to do. Right. So, Alaina is just going to hit her with her longsword. Okay. And see what happens. Oh, oops, wait, I think I did it twice. No, you have advantage. Oh. Which is good, because you dropped a one.

Oh, tight. That is a 16, that'll hit. Okay, and then I'll do damage. 6 damage to Rose. And that's going to be it. Alright, so, wow, there's a lot of stuff that's getting ready to happen here. So first, here's a fun thing. So, you guys have been just pelting her with ice shards and like stabbing and just, you know, after a few seconds, you're going to see some of those wounds ever so slowly start to close up. I forgot that they could do that. I completely forgot. I don't like it. Alright, so, let's see here. A charisma save first. Yes. Okay. So let's do this. Ah, that's going to fail.

Nice. Yay. So that results in what, a 1d4? Minus 1d4 for whatever her attack roll or her next, whenever she makes an attack roll or saving throw before the spell ends. Okay. Yeah. Okay, so do me a favor. For this turn. Do me a favor, roll a 1d4. Okay, so that's a negative 2 to her constitution saving throw that she has to roll now or reverse to her original form. With disadvantage. With disadvantage. Holy shit. Yes, Karen, we are the tag team. Yeah. We do this everywhere we'll ever find. Alright. Cross your fingers. Yes. Yeah. Oh my god. So she still takes the damage, which is 2d10 radiant.

Okay, hit her. Yes, this one. Okay. So that's nine damage to Rose. Alright. After, I would say this moonbeam kind of flares up, right? And struggling on the ground still, like Larg still got a hold of her. She is going to start to calm down a bit. Like not flailing as aggressively. And she is going to start to revert back to her human form. Couple of interesting things about this. One, I would say to the party, this is all pretty unexpected. One, the freak out, the wolf out to begin with is unexpected. And I don't think this has ever come up in conversation that Callie could do something like this.

Because I don't believe that this would be, it's like, oh, hey, by the way, guys, if this ever happens, I got just the thing. So I don't think that this is something that would come up. So her just suddenly reverting back to human form would be also pretty jarring. The wound that she had on her head is now gone. She is obviously naked, hulking out of her clothes. And she is going to- Well, your clothes, yeah, I'm sorry. And she's going to be unconscious. Oh, OK. Congratulations. Oh, wow. Before anyone has a chance to do anything, because it's a concentration spell, so Callie is going to keep it up.

She's going to tell them, don't, or at least Larg, don't let her go out of that light because she could change back. And just kind of nod and hold her there, like just laying on his side on the ground. Should I, well, Brandon's going to be playing his instrument, like he'll still be playing the song, and he'll say, Should I stop this too? Like, I can't play the same song for more than a minute. He's going to be playing da da da da da da da da da da. Are we out of combat? Yeah, right now, unless you choose to continue to strike her. Well, as Rose sort of turns back into Rose, Tatiana is going to like still like, obviously, everybody else is sort of like come to fight this thing, and Tatiana is going to sort of fall back onto the ground.

Let me ask you a question. One, how long does Moonbeam last? It just says concentration, but it doesn't say like concentration up to a minute or anything like that. So I guess, maybe it's different, like, because sometimes it doesn't have, let me go look at the master list to see if you guys put a time limit on it, because sometimes it doesn't do that. Up to a minute. In Fantasy and Grounds. Is that what it says? Yep. Also the same as mine. Well, as long as like we can determine that she's actually like unconscious, within that minute, then that's fine. Yeah, Cauldron will go up, will like run up to her, and well, first he'll like make sure Larg's okay, and say, "How's your back?" "Oh, I'm okay, I'm fine.

Just kind of laying there in the mud." And then he'll just sort of like check out Rose a little bit, yeah, to make sure she's like unconscious and like, she's fully transformed, check her eyes, check her pulse, that kind of thing. Just to like get a general sense of how she is. All things considered, Rose looks to be okay. She's, again, completely out and unconscious, like does appear to be breathing. It looks like a lot of the damage she got is kind of superficial, like cuts and abrasions and stuff like that, but her werewolf form looked much more damaged than her human form, because she's not nearly as big in human form as werewolf form, but she looks to be pretty much intact.

Let me ask you a question. So, okay, is Larg still like just in case, like grappling? Yeah, I mean, he feels weird about it at this point, because now it's just a naked woman. Right, yes. But he's kind of just like looking elsewhere, but just holding on until somebody tells him he can let go. Cullen's going to turn to the rest of the party and be like, well, he's going to turn to Callie and just like give her, like just give her like a once over, like incredible. But we'll have to table that discussion for a little bit, because he's going to look at everyone and just sort of like, what do we do now?

This might be a hard conversation. Braylin's going to look at Cullen, kind of walk up from where he is, because I was pretty close, I was like right next to Tatiana, so he's going to walk up and say, there's nothing to talk about. We got to put her down. We can't take this with us to Durn Hollow, let alone anywhere else. Cullen will like look around, just sort of like gauge the party here. Elena does not agree. She's sort of looking at Braylin and it is with sort of like a confused look on her face. And she's just a, okay, but she's still a person. Like you can see her right now.

Yeah, and I saw her like 10 seconds ago, really close to my face, actually. Elena, she's a liability for us and any civilization we two with her. She can put us all in danger and everyone she comes in contact with. But she doesn't mean to. Isn't there something we can do to help? I've never met werewolves before, I don't think. He's going to look at Callie. I mean, you made her turn back. Sorry, he didn't know she turned back, but he's looking at Callie and he's like, she turned back somehow? Unless there's something we got that can do that. I don't feel safe with a ticking bomb behind us, or with us, I should say.

A bomb that's got really sharp teeth. And he's going to like point to his teeth, his little canine, his own canine teeth. Tatiana is like on the ground visibly sort of like scared and she's not going to get up. She's just going to sort of like look up towards Braylin and Elena and just say, I've only heard horror stories about werewolves. They're uncontrollable and uncontrollable things need to be put down. Braylin's going to like dramatically put his hand out to Tatiana and shake his head yes. Like, hello? Yeah. Okay, Callie's got to walk towards Rose closer.

She's just going to, listen, she might not even know she's a werewolf. She had no memory when we found her, supposedly, and that could be totally true. And if she knows now, because we can tell her when she wakes up, maybe she can keep it in check better. Are you an authority on werebeasts, Callie? And then Braylin's going to kind of, he's going to walk up, not to get too close, but close enough where he has to look up to talk to her and say, do you know what sets them off? Do you know? Well, we all know what they eat. You know, us. Dead us. I don't feel that anyone here can guarantee our safety as long as we take her with us.

And telling her, who knows, maybe that'll set her off, right? Braylin brings up a good point. Larg, you can put her down now. Just lay her down here. Oh, Jesus Christ. It's not our place to decide who lives or dies. Like, we just found this woman in the woods, and she had no idea what was going on. What gives you the authority? Callie. She can't go to Dernhollow. Yeah, we can't bring her into town and have her. He's going to like put his hand to his temple and say, when in the mountains, when there is one that is sick in the pack, it frosts at the mouth and is afraid of the taste of water, the rest of the pack turns on this one and ends its suffering and also keeps the rest of the pack safe.

That is the way of the mountain. If they did not do this thing, then the entire pack would be sick and all would be lost. That's what we're dealing here. This isn't the mountains and you don't have the right. I'm not saying that we have to bring her with us. We can leave her here in the woods, but I'm not going to be involved with killing an innocent woman. Tatiana is going to stand up and she's just going to look over at Callie with a very stern look and just sort of say, what are you proposing then? We leave her in the woods here so she can kill somebody else.

We were prepared. We can or I'll stay back and I will talk to her and you guys can go ahead. I can leave her with the knowledge that she is a werewolf now and she can make her own fate. Maybe she wants something better. Well, I know that she doesn't like these woods. She kept talking about getting the hell out of here every five minutes. And her fate is out of her hands. She didn't seem to have any control over this. Can't we just wait on making a decision until she wakes up and we can let her know? I suppose so. I mean, we don't have to do this right now, but...

But we still need to finish this conversation because we can't let... We can't just let her go. Tatiana is right. If we just let her stay in the woods, if she wanders into town and has another episode, we might as well be condemning that town. I'd like to stay away from having any more cities or towns disappear off the face of the map. Just a thought. And he's going to look at Callie and say, "Callie, I can do this. I can spare her a violent death. I can make sure that her passing is easy." But it's not easy and you know it. He'll look at her and he'll know what she's talking about, but he'll shake his head and say, "No, no, no.

Not like that. I can make it easy. I can make it so that she doesn't suffer at all." Jason, how common is it? Like, how common knowledge is like stress to a werewolf towards freaking out? Rolling a 13 earlier, I would say that your knowledge is a bit spotty. Okay. But give me an intelligence check real quick. Oh, well, that's great. Yeah. No, I wouldn't say that you'd put two and two together, but it's... I would say that you've read about a bunch of different things setting werewolves off. And then some people saying, "Oh, there was no reason whatsoever. They just freaked out one day." That type of thing.

There's all kinds of miscommunication there. Okay. So Kelly is just going to probably walk a little closer to Rose, probably be like within a couple feet of her. And why don't you guys go down the road a bit? I'll wait until she wakes up and I will speak with her and she can decide what we're going to do with her. Maybe she wants to die. At that, because Tatiana, with all this back and forth, is getting really frustrated at this point. She's just going to sort of roll her eyes and just say, "Fine, do whatever you want. Just keep that thing the fuck away from me." And she's going to point really aggressively and then turn and start to walk down the road.

What if she decides that she wants to go to Durnhollow or to Donhurst or to Brightport or to Winterhaven? She might not make the right decision. And there's no cure for what she has. We can't trust that she'll do the right thing. We don't know her. She doesn't know who she is. We don't know that there's a cure. There could be one out there. I'm sure people are looking. Are you willing to bet that hope on the lives of everyone in any of those cities? I have to believe, for my sake, that there is a cure for all things out there. Colton's going to furrow his brow a little bit at this.

And he's going to look at Callie and say, "What do you mean?" I have a curse on me and I'm going to die. And if I don't find the cure for that, then that's it for me. And if I can't believe that there is a cure for werewolves, then I can't believe that there's a cure for me. When Callie says that, Braylin's going to drop his instrument. What? What do you mean? I don't know all the details. I know that everybody in my family dies when they hit the age of 30. And I just, I know that there's something wrong with that. And I think it's a curse. And the reason that I am really traveling is because I'm trying to find a cure for that.

But it's very hard when you have no information because everybody who might know about it is dead. And then, like, Colton will come up to her and, like, he'll, like, put his hand gently on her shoulder and look her in the eye and say, "Callie, whatever this curse is, we will find something to cure it. We can help you with that. It's not, it doesn't sound like it's lycanthropy. You're no danger to any of us or to anyone else. We can find information about that, but from what we know about this," and he's going to look over at Rose, "there's only one cure.

Let us help you, and let us help Rose end her suffering and end the danger that she poses to everything." I can't let you do that. She didn't ask for that. I didn't ask for this. And you saying that putting her out of her misery is the best possible choice is, like, telling me that I'm going to die in a few years. He's going to bring her in and hold her and say, "You're not going to die. We're not going to let that happen. That's, that's not going to happen while we're here. Not by a werewolf, not by orcs, not by some curse. It's not going to happen." Just go.

I will take care of this. And if it means that I have to put her down, then I will. But I'm not letting you do it while she's unconscious. Largo back off at that. Yeah, Cauldron will give her a little squeeze and say, "Okay. But if you don't want this guilt, if you don't want this burden, just let me know. I trust you." And she's just going to kind of push him away off of her. Okay, rude. She doesn't have any more words, so... As Brelyn's leaving, because he's going to walk toward Tatiana, he's going to start playing Hope You Have the Time of Your Life by Green Day, and give Calli Bardic inspiration for the next 10 minutes to use in whichever form she sees fit.

Thanks. Elena's going to walk up to Calli, and she's going to have this sad look on her eyes. Sort of because out of everyone, she's known Calli the longest, and that she didn't know or she didn't catch on, she feels almost guilty about, but she's going to look at Calli and say, "Can I stay here with you?" Calli's just going to nod at her, and look really thankful that somebody's hanging out with her. Yeah, actually, Colton goes and checks on some of these orcs. Do they got anything? Yes! We already did that, bro. Oh, we did? Oh, well. Remember, I look for Colton, and Jason's like, "Oh, this is their first raid of the day, so nothing.

Damn." Colton runs his pockets again. So, just to understand this, Calli is staying behind, and everyone else is going to venture down the road a bit further, right? I think Elena's staying. Yeah, Elena's staying! Oh, god. Sorry, I choked a little bit. Tatiana isn't running, but she's definitely moving with purpose away from this situation. I think Cullen's going to give them some privacy, but he's not going to leave out of ear or eyeshot, just heading towards where Tatiana's going. Yeah, I'm thinking the first bend in the road, where we're just around the corner, would be a good place to stop.

Okay, so, maybe out of eyesight, but around. Let's say this, you're far enough away that you probably can't see too much, but if you heard screams. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If she was in trouble or something, if Calli was in trouble. So, the rest of the party, beyond Calli and Elena, have ventured down the road a bit, and I would say they are far enough away that you obviously- okay, Calli respectfully asked to kind of be left here. So you don't want to do the thing where you're hovering and- it's like when you're in the middle of a dungeon and someone is spot checking for traps and they're like, "I got this, guys." They're the official trap checking person.

You don't want to hover over them the entire time and recheck for traps, because, you know, it's showing a lack of faith in a person. So I would say you guys are far enough down the road that you can kind of barely see or something like that, and you could just make out shapes and stuff. Let me ask Calli this, I guess. Are you trying to wake Rose up? Is she still laying in the exact same spot? I think Calli would take a seat maybe like 10 feet or so away from her and give her a little bit, or at least give Calli a little bit to calm down and think about how this conversation is going to go.

And she'd probably just pat the ground next to her for Elena to sit if she wanted to as well. I kind of want to cover her up because she's naked again, and that might be really scary, waking up naked again. So I don't know, we probably have something to sort of lay over her so she's not cold. And then we'll go sit next to Calli. And like I think after a few minutes of just like silence, Calli will turn to Elena, and she'll say, I'm really sorry I didn't tell you. I honestly didn't know how. This is, you know, it's your truth. It's your secret to tell. I just feel like I should have known somehow.

I know that doesn't make sense and why would you even guess something like that, but I don't know. I just, I'm sorry that you're going through this. I don't know, like, it's not something that's dangerous to anybody else but I didn't want anybody worrying about me. But that's what friends are for. We help through your worries and your problems and we all carry a part of it so it's not so hard for just one person. I guess at least if I had told you, you probably could have helped me look for something. And who knows, maybe Jordana knew about it or has some information on it.

You know we can we can do something proactively to try and figure this out for you. Now that we all know. Honestly, that's why I've been pushing Calvin so hard to get his arm fixed. We have a fix for that. And if we got back there maybe, like you said, maybe she would have something for me too. Do you think we should let her wake up on her own or should I should one of us go wake her up. Well, it has been a little bit and for all we know she could be out for a few hours. So I guess we should at least try to wake her up. How would you go about doing that?

Oh, I mean, she doesn't look like she's hurt. So like a cure wounds isn't like it doesn't really seem necessary. Um, maybe. Yeah, maybe just go up to her and just like shake her shoulder a little bit. See if she responds. Something very calm and not jarring. Yeah. Okay. We immediately, we wake her up and she immediately turns back into a werewolf. I caress her cheek. Breakfast in bed. Boy. Okay. I... How out is she? All right. So I would say it takes a couple of jostles, a couple of shakes probably. And she's going to start to come to probably with a groan, just like that type of thing.

And slowly but surely she is going to start to open her eyes. And even though the sun is starting to set, it's probably or at least it's overcast out, it's probably just a little too bright at first. Just like, oh, almost like she's waking up with a hangover. And she's going to start to reach down and realize she's covered. But looking around like naked in the street is basically it's covered. But like, okay. And Callie is going to use the softest voice that she can muster. And she's going to say, how are you feeling? She's going to start to sit up. What did I do?

We got into a fight with some orcs and once they were down, which did a great job of taking one of them out, by the way, you started to change. Did you know you could do that? At this point, I would say it's head in hands, just kind of an "oh, shit" look. And then she's going to her eyes are going to open as if there's some as if there's some realization. Where are the rest of you? Where's the where's the rest of the party? They're fine. They're down the road a little bit. So I didn't hurt anyone. No. I'm I'm so sorry. So you weren't really you really knew who you were or what you could do.

No, I. I remember everything now. I, I, I swear to you, I didn't. I had no idea. Insight check? Go, please. Wow, that is that's some good insight. Could I do one, too? Sure, go ahead. Because I want to. Because I want to is a good reason. That's not as good, but not bad. To both Callie and Elena, that she seems genuine, she doesn't she doesn't seem like she is lying to you. On top of that, the wound that was on her head is healed. So if you had to kind of put two and two together. That maybe she had a head injury and didn't remember who she was or what she was capable of.

And then, of all things, that minor freak out could have helped her. So, you know what you are? What's your real name? Again, she's trying to. It's it's a mix between trying to get her shit together and like every time she's getting ready to kind of like stand up, she kind of realizes, like, OK, middle of the street, this isn't great. And she's she's wrapping herself up here. And Callie, I think Callie would have like sat down next to her while she was trying to wake her up, like not to be too intimidating by like hovering over her. And I mean, look, this is going to be a slightly stressful situation no matter what.

I would say when she was asking about the party. No, Jason. Just just do this. Look, I'm I don't make the rules. I mean, you do. So, yeah, this is going to be a stressful situation no matter what. But she's she's keeping her composure for the most part and and just trying to calmly answer questions. My name is Tamara. Tamara Sellers. I'm. I live in Aubrey, but I kind of had a falling out with someone there and. I, I remember going out. I ended up in Durn Hollow. Just I didn't feel like I could go back there. And. I started to have an episode in Durn Hollow and I ran, I left.

And I think that's how I ended up here. Do you know how long you've been a. You know. It's been a few years now. You're not going to tell anyone, are you? So I want to be completely honest with you, Tamara. Our friends. Don't want you to leave these woods. She's going to narrow her eyes just a bit. How do you mean? I think you might have a good idea about that, as there are only two of us here and the rest are down the road. But I wanted to give you the chance to speak for yourself. OK. She's going to pointedly take a deep breath. What do you want to know? I. I want to know how you've been dealing with this.

Do you have a plan for in case this happens again? I've managed to keep it under control for a while. I. I practice deep breathing. I've. I try not to let things get to me. What happened in Durin Hollow was a freak accident. I would never let that happen again. I should have never left Aubrey, to be honest. And she's going to look down. Were there people in Aubrey who were helping you? I was staying with someone. And. We were keeping my condition a secret. Aubrey's had problems and. I don't think they would take too kindly. But. I got tired of hiding it, and I thought that the people I live with had a right to know.

I got into a fight with Grayson and I left. I. I should have just worked it out. I should have stayed and I I just. And she's going to start that deep breathing again, just kind of like again, taking another pointedly deep breath, just just getting a hold of herself a bit. What do you want to do in this situation right now? I know I have no right to ask you, but. I just want to go home. If I could just get back to Aubrey, I could put all of this behind me and. I just pretend like it never happened. I can pay you once we get back to town. If you want to tie me up, tie me up.

I understand. What are your triggers? And she's going to she's going to kind of look. Excuse me. What makes you feel like you are about to lose control? Well, scary situations, I fear, I guess if I if I feel like there's nothing I can do or. If I feel powerless in a situation, I guess. I guess just stress. You know, we're in the middle of the divide, right? I know, like I said, I have no right to ask you this, not after what happened, but I I didn't even know who I was. I can control it. I swear to you, I can keep it under control. Oh, man, Kelly is going to look up to Elena.

Is this like an aside thing, like sad puppy dog eyes? Oh, she doesn't have to convince me. That's why I'm over here. Like she feels so bad for this woman. I'm fine with helping you get back to Aubrey. It's not myself or my friend here, Alina, that you are going to have to worry about. We have to persuade the rest of the group. And I need a clear plan on how we are going. To ensure, like put our hands up in quotations, keep you in check. So. If it's stress. I can teach you a few. Breathing exercises that could help with that. We could do those every morning. But I need your reassurance that you're going to try your hardest not to freak out when we might get attacked by orcs or bandits or anything along the way.

She's going to nod her head emphatically. Just yes, of course, of course. If I gave you a weapon, would you feel better? Would you not feel so helpless? Again, she's going to nod her head. I promise to give it right back to you if you don't think I should be holding one. Callie is going, she's got like these kind of like knee-high boots. She's going to pull like a hunting dagger out of it and give it to her. Ok. And now we have to figure out what to do for clothing because... Yeah, that's that's... She wants to ask about that, but it's like, I already kind of ruined one set of your clothing.

I feel bad. She's going to like look over at Alina. Do you have an extra set of clothes? I mean, probably, right? I would say that's probably something. Yeah, like Alina is a bit bigger, right? A little taller. Yeah. So this will probably be baggy on... Oh, it's going to be so cute. She's going to be like a toddler. Ew, what? Like a toddler in like the bigger clothes, you know, like just never mind. She's like a human woman. I don't understand. I got what you were saying. I'm there. I'm with you. Oh, did Lara give her a dagger? Is the dagger like a round? It's probably a round, yeah.

Because I could probably give that to her, too, and then she'll have two daggers. Oh, yeah, good. More weapons. She'll feel safer. Exactly. That's totally what's going to happen there. All right. I think maybe you should stay here while we go talk to everyone else. I don't want to stress you out. She would think about that for a moment. Can you give me a chance to talk to them? I understand what I did, and I know that there's very little that I can say that would make up for that, but... Maybe if they just heard it from my mouth, they would understand. Definitely.

I think that everybody should have a chance to speak for themselves. And then off to the rest of the coop we go. All right. Let's do this. I just want to say that Elena is worried for... What the hell is her name? Tamara's safety right now with the other party members. That's a good objective. And Riley, she should be worried. Yes. Oh, God. I am crawling thinking about how this conversation is going to go. I just need to say, I love you, Karen. I love you, Valerie. And I am so sorry for anything that may or may not come out of my mouth. It is not me. Wow. Do you notice that pointed, "No, I love you, Jason." Well, I love you too, but you're not doing this to me.

That's fair. You know what? I didn't do anything to anybody. I am innocent. Yeah, no tea, no shade, no pink lemonade. So, coming up the road... I'm sorry. I was just going to be honest with you guys. I was like, "Oh, I'll take care of it." But in my brain, I knew she was coming with us. I knew I was adopting that puppy. I knew it. So, coming up the road here, Tatiana, Kaladin, Braelyn, and Lark are going to see not only Callie and Elena, but Rose. Coming up the road, Rose is sporting a different change of clothes. What would the reaction to that be before they ever get here?

Let's say, facial features aren't even fully in view yet. So, you don't have to worry about Elena and Callie seeing your reaction, but in your head, internally, how do you think your characters would be reacting, seeing them coming up the road together? I know, Braelyn. It's super bad. Remember when they see Fogle come out of the liquor store or out of the police car and the one guy, Jonah Hill's mouth is like, "What the fuck?" That's what Braelyn's mouth thinks right now. As he sees them walking up the road. I think Calladin's pretty poker-faced, but internally, I think he's thinking, "Well, she didn't let her go.

That's good." I think Tatiana is going to say pointedly so that Calladin, Braelyn, and Lark can hear her, "You've got to be fucking kidding me," and she's going to put her hand on her bow. Not pulling it out because they're not close enough that I think they'd even notice, but she's obviously aggravated this whole time that they've been away from Elena, Callie, and Tamara. She's been very internal, kicking the dirt to herself, sort of frustrated sort of thing. I feel like Lark's been pretty stone-faced through this whole thing, too, but he definitely takes a deep, sharp breath when he sees them coming.

It's just got a lot harder. We haven't really tackled this, but you guys were kind of on the hunt for survivors of Donhurst. To Lark, is this all just sort of like a deviation, like a slowdown of progress? Not really. I think he sees it as more his responsibility to make sure that the feral murder machine doesn't make it into the heart of a city. I was going to ask about that in character. I got distracted because Callie was like, "Get out of here. I'm going to talk to her." And she did. She handled it. She handled it. No, well, I know. What do you mean handled it?

She's still here. OK, we're standing there. Let's let's let's link the party back up here. Let's let OK, so Callie and Elena and the rest of the party would know her as Rose. But Tamara, those are going to walk up to the party. What would be the first words? Who would speak first, I guess? Tatiana wouldn't speak, but if they got within, I'd say 30 feet, she would arm her weapon at Rose. OK, obviously Tamara is not gripping any weapons. They are put away and she would have her hands up at the mere motioning of anyone grabbing a hilt or anything like that.

I'm fine. Everything's fine. Cauldron will be like Tatiana, like raise his hand and like just shake his head a little bit like. I don't think that she would put it down, but she is going to sort of like not ease her shoulders down a bit, but she's hearing what Cauldron is saying, but she's still not going to move the focus away. Just still interesting. Yeah, I mean, she did turn into a monster in front of her eyes, so I feel like it's merited. Colin's going to turn to Callie and just sort of say, so how is this going to work? Callie is going to kind of give him a look, because I feel like she might be thinking that they brought Tamara here for them to take care of it.

Oh no. And she is going to say, this is Tamara. She remembers who she is now and she would like a moment to speak with everyone. Brelin's going to end up, oh, she remembers now. That's great. It's going to turn itself out sideways. How good for you. I love you. Again, still kind of holding her hands up a bit, probably put them down a little bit, just wants you to know that, like, hey, everything's fine, that I am disarmed. Although that doesn't really play with someone who can turn into a living weapon. It's kind of, it's yeah, it's not as, it's probably not as reassuring as you'd like it to be.

I'm in a real bind here. I made a terrible mistake. I'm in the middle of nowhere. And I honestly don't, I don't have anyone I can trust. But you folks, I am truly sorry about what happened earlier. I couldn't have stopped it at the time, but I have a handle on it now. I know what's going on. I can keep it under control. I've been living with it for years and I've had very few incidents. Brelin's going to speak up. How many people have you killed? That question is going to take her aback. I'm not sure. I don't, I don't have a very clear recollection of things that happen when I turn into that.

I have been living with someone for a couple of years now and up until very recently, I haven't had any problems. They've kept an eye on me. I've, I've managed to get it in check. Okay. That's a good, that's a good answer. That's not the answer I was looking for. That's a good answer. And Brelin's going to kind of tilt his head to the other opposite side and then look at, at Lark, like motioning, like, do you have any questions? Kind of deal like, go for it. He's just been kind of standing there, just arms folded across his chest, just kind of staring at her.

I guess after a long silence, he'll just say, what do you, what do you want to do? She's going to take her hands again, still kind of out and she's going to place them together almost like she's praying or begging. I just, I just need to get back to Aubrey or at the very least Dernhollow and I can find my way back up north then, but I would be eternally grateful if you could get me back to Aubrey. Do you think that's fair? Do they know in Aubrey? Do they know about you? I wanted to tell them I haven't, I haven't yet. I just, it's hard to find the right time.

It's not something that I think they would deal with very well. Do you think that what you want is more important than the safety of everybody else in two cities between here and there? She's going to look down almost like she's ashamed. I don't have anywhere else to go. I don't, I don't want to hurt anyone. I'll tell them as soon as I get back. If they want to get rid of me, then at least I tried. Please, I don't have anyone else I can ask or, and again, she's going to, she's going to look down. Largo's going to kind of look at the rest of the group. I don't even know if we're going to Aubrey.

Durnhollow, sure, that's where we're headed. But Larg makes good points. We can't keep an eye on you all the time and you could be a threat to us and to anyone we put you into contact with. I know I'm just telling you what you already know, but even after that, we might not be even be headed in the same direction. What would you plan to do then? If I can get to Donhurst, I might be able to hire somebody to take me to Aubrey. It's not that far away. And I can, I can pay them when I get back to town. I got some bad news about Donhurst for you. You mean to say that?

Do you? What? What? Do you say that? Oh, I'm just confused. Did you mean Durnhollow? No, no, no. That time, like, she's like, she's going anywhere where there's a town or city. Like you said, oh, we might not be heading in the same direction. She's like, look, anywhere, basically. There's only two towns in between where you are and wilderness and that's Donhurst and Durnhollow. Oh, I see. Maybe. I'm confused. She told us Donhurst, but she said Durnhollow a minute ago. No, she only said Donhurst because he said we might be going in opposite directions. Right. Okay.

Sorry. She's going right, basically. Um, gotcha. Yeah. Uh, yeah. He'll, he'll say sure. Yeah. He'll say that Donhurst is, Donhurst isn't really an option anymore. Um, she's going to look confused. It's been, well, it's been abandoned and it may have been taken over by people who, uh, of ill repute. You can say scum, Cauldin. Scum. Yes. Thank you. Yeah. She is going, her eyes are going to kind of go wide. The entire city has been abandoned? Yeah. Yes. And there may be survivors in Durnhollow, which is where is who we're looking for, which makes it, makes us all doubly cautious about your condition.

She's going to take another deep breath. So it's, it's obvious you're heading to Durnhollow. Please just let me tag along. I'll follow the party from far behind. You can, you can tie my hands. Just please. Quick question. Would Lark know anything about how most cities would have, I don't know if there's any laws in place or traditions or just common sense about how, about like how somebody shows up and is like, hey, I'm a werewolf. Does that person just get executed on site or do they get like a trial or what? Well, it depends on the town. Here's the thing.

Most, most, let's say small towns, most small towns will chase you out. However, if you're in, let's say, Lockford, there are extenuating circumstances. They might just execute you. They might feel terrible about it and they might, they might apologize profusely, but that town has seen some shit and they do not want another epidemic breaking out. Right. Aubrey, on the other hand, is an interesting case. How much would your, would your characters know about Aubrey within the last, let's say, two and a half years? I mean, well, we've been there. We are VIP members of whatever hotel they got.

Yeah. We got those hotel reward points. So here's the thing. You guys know absolutely the situation they were dealing with. Up until about two and a half years ago, was there any reason to check back in over that time? I don't, first of all, probably not. Probably not. Yeah. I mean, we did solve the mystery of that whirlpool, so I guess we... Oh yeah, let's talk about that. Yeah. Would we have gone back? I don't know. I don't think so. I mean, I, I can't think, I can't think why we would, or at least I can't think why Cauldron would have. So, okay. Larg lives fairly close.

Mm-hmm. Do me a favor. Give me a, give me a history check. Oh no. Negative. Oh no. Oh wow. What's an Aubrey? That's Suplex. Yeah. I didn't want to tell you guys. I landed on my head and I haven't wanted to say anything. I forgot math, so... I'm also an amnesiac now. Can, can I do a thing that might seem a little weird? Is it stab Tamara? What? Is it stab Tamara? Cause... No, it is not that. Tatiana wants to perception check the party. Cause I sort of want to see like what people's... Basically what, like judging by facial expressions, what way they're leaning? Yeah. Yeah.

Do me a favor. Give me that. Okay. Meh. Eh. Okay. So let's jump back to this history check. Obviously you're not going to get anything from that. Right. Basically anybody who knows anything about Aubrey is they've had a, they've had a problem with vampires. That's, Breland and Kaladin would know a bit more because they were knee deep in the ship. Like they, they know about, like they are probably very untrusting of certain, certain situations. Let's call it like that. Like your lycanthropies, your vampirism stuff. Although the last time Breland and Kaladin left Aubrey, there were three vampires living in town or were going to attempt to assimilate and live in town.

They were, were they drowned too? Or were they just vampires? One of them was right? Yup. Okay. Can, so I think like Callie would have had to go through Aubrey to get across the continent from like the Evergreen. Unless you went to the wilderness. Could I like roll, this is very, can I roll a perception to see what she picked up while she was going through that town? Yeah, because it might not be on the, it might be a little off the beaten track. So let's see. Perception. Is that okay? Yes. Go with it. You would know that vampires were still living in town and the, I mean, no one seemed up in arms over that.

It is a different vibe when you go into town because there are certain shops that are just, they have really weird hours and stuff like that. Like they're, it feels like the town is trying. But you didn't really pick up anything behind the scenes, I would say. Nothing, nothing. Let's jump back to Tatiana. I would say the most Tatiana is going to pick up is it doesn't seem, and I don't want to put words in the party's mouth, but it doesn't seem like anyone's made a decision yet. Right? Like it's like, obviously Larg was questioning and like, like the people who were on the fence, I'd say.

I think she's more trying to determine if people are even entertaining this idea. Well, let me ask the rest of the party. How, how would you, how would you feel that would be on your face? Like, do you, is there a general calming down? Is there, are you just as staunch about this as you were when she first walked up? I mean, Brelin's obviously of a camp of fever, but then he also doesn't want to leave her because of what was discovered that like she would just like rip people apart passing through. There's kind of, he's still in his original position.

Like we have to end it or drop her off in Turnhollow and then she leaves. We have to make sure she leaves Turnhollow. Kind of like of that camp, I guess. I think, I think Kaldin's going to be like, so do you want to go to Don Hurston Wolf out a little bit for a little bit? I mean, that's not the worst idea. I think Kaldin is going to, again, like he's pretty stone faced and I think he's made, I think he's made it clear what, how he feels about it. But he is going to sort of just like look up to the sky that's becoming those like shades of purple and pink as, as the evening grows long.

And he'll say that, like the evening grows late. Why don't we move down as far as we can go and start making camp? We can get some rest. Let's get out of this forest before we decide anything. And did she give us her name again? Yes. OK. Well, Callie introduced her. Right, right, right, right. So yeah, he'll, he'll, he'll say, Tamara, everything, nothing has changed from our discussion from this morning. You have said you don't want to hurt us. And as long as you are not a threat to us, you will have safe passage with us through this forest. Sorry, go ahead.

Atiyeh is going to interject. And she's just going to say, speak for yourself. I am not camping with that thing. And she's going to tighten her grip on her bow and sort of look around at the party. Is this a joke? You really want to travel with that thing? We've just been in, we've, we've just been in a fight. Our blood is pumping. Tension is up. Let's at least hold off from any decision until we've had a chance to rest. I think that's the best that we can ask for. We can make decisions with level heads in the morning, Atiyeh. She's going to sort of put her bow towards the ground, but it's it's still very strained.

If you want to sleep next to that, fine. I won't, I'm not camping with you. That is not happening. If anyone wants to come with me, that's fine, too. She... Tamara is going to look down as this is happening, just very... Ashamed, probably, is the best, the best way to describe her expression. And she's going to try and step forward and not not reach toward Tatiana, but just... I understand how you feel. I'll sleep as far away from you as I can. Again, you can tie me up if that would make you feel safer. I think reflexively, Tatiana is going to bring her bow back up as soon as Tamara takes a step towards her.

OK. OK, well, when Tatiana does that, Reylen is going to like snap, kind of snap and look at her real quick. And with his bard voice, like when he casts magic, he's going to try and like use a really deep tone, like the tone that he used when he played Bane, like he's going to start playing Bane on Tatiana. No, no, no, that's not how we handle this. Kalden will look at Tatiana and be like, "Tatiana, you know I trust you and I agree with you on this, but again, let's not make rash decisions. Let's not do something we regret." Can we, I guess we'll take you up on your offer Tamara.

We'll bind you as comfortably as well as we can, but to make sure that you're not a threat that will make us feel better. And hopefully that will put everyone's mind at ease, at least for this evening. Tatiana is going to shoot the ground. Okay, wow. I'm so sorry. Where? Really, really close to her. Not to Tamara, but to Tatiana. Like she's like dropping her bow down and then shooting the ground out of frustration, mind you. Okay. And I would say as Kalden is kind of breaking down, it's like, okay, we are going to bind you. You know, essentially she's going to look down and just nod her head like, okay, that's fine.

The bow going off, the shot hitting the ground. She's going to jump a little bit of that and back up, obviously, just instinctually just like, whoa, okay. She's going to put her hands up again. Again, out of frustration, Tatiana is going to sort of look up from the ground and feeling as though this was Callie's idea. I know that Callie hasn't really said much, but Callie was the one who was pushing to let this girl live earlier. She's going to make direct eye contact with Callie and she's just going to say, fine. But if I'm ripped apart in the middle of the night, you're going to Fair Bay and telling my parents what happened.

So Larg will look at this girl and sort of, he hasn't really moved too much, but he'll look at her and he'll say, if we were to decide that you cannot go into a city, what would you do? Oh boy. I think, boy, man, there's a lot going on in this ten seconds, I would say. I would probably head out on my own then. No, because we can't be sure that you won't enter a city. So if we were to decide that you are too dangerous, what would you do? Would you accept it or would you fight us? Oh boy. Elena has like her eyes wide open, like going back and forth between Larg and Tamara being like, oh my God, what is going on?

We're all going to die. I told you, I don't want to hurt anyone. And there's going to be a bit more resolve in her voice this time. I just want to get back home. And she's going to be locking eyes with Larg, but every once in a while, they're going to flicker over to Tatiana. What if this isn't about what you want? What if this is what's best for everybody? We don't always get what we want. Elena's going to interrupt. She's sort of going to like stand in between them and look at Larg and say, do we really have to have this conversation right now? Can't we wait?

Can't this wait until the morning when we're all calmer? Tatiana is going to pull her arrow out of the ground and like sort of like shake off this entire conversation because she is just so done. And she's going to like start to walk to wherever they would make camp, like continue the conversation if you want. But I'm outie 5000. But she's outie. Yeah, I think we're like. I think we're like, yeah, unless between between Larg and Elena, when I go more, I think. Making camp might be a good idea. And I'm sorry, go ahead. I was just going to say that instead of really answering Elena, Larg will pull his back off and pull a length of rope out of it and hand it to Elena and say she's your responsibility until we find out what we're going to do.

Elena's going to sort of. She's going to. Yeah, OK, so she's going to nod, turn around, grab the rope, turn around away from Larg and roll her eyes. I heard that I roll sister. It shook around, did you feel that? Yeah. So you walk on for a bit longer, and I would imagine that this is a pretty quiet, somber walk. Correct me if I'm wrong. Not a lot of small talk. Yeah, it's probably pretty silent, I imagine. And Atathian is as far away from I mean, obviously, as far away from Tamar as possible. Right. Does Brelin sing anything? This is an awkward song. He'll sing.

No, I had one for this. Teenage Wasteland. You know what sucks about that? If you can only play a song for a minute, then you won't even get to the intro. Yeah, that's true. It's just like that for a song longer than for a minute. Magical songs only last a minute. Oh, OK. OK, so how dare you judge me. Yeah, it's not like he doesn't know how to play. He only has the demo version of every song. I'd like you to know that other songs last longer than that. For example, if I'm casting Tick Magic using my mus-axe, it is 10 minutes. Thank you. Oh, wow. So then you go.

Yeah, definitely. If I'm casting Blade Ward, it's one round, which is six seconds, so that's a little shorter. I didn't know I brought that up. Never mind. So let me ask you a question. So for one where you play it 10 minutes, do you pick a 10 minute song? You've got to play Iron Butterfly or something? It's always Freebird. What are you talking about? It's always Freebird. I didn't know if it was like, "Oh, I'll just loop it back around. It's fine." It's canon now, everybody. Detect Magic is Freebird. Detect Magic. I dig it. Makes sense to me. The sun is going to set, and you lovely individuals are going to make camp.

This is going to be, again, a probably tense process. The entire time, this was already a very stressful situation, but the entire time now, it basically sounded like, "We're going to pass judgment on you," which she can't really jump up and down about. She could have killed you all. That is just something that could have happened. So she's kind of at the mercy of the party for the most part, but there's definitely a lot of soul searching, a lot of thinking going on. So probably her head is cast down, tied up. Wait, wait, wait. We need to talk about that.

Okay, hit me. I'm not going to tie her up. Oh, okay. Well, then now we got to back up. That was not agreed upon. Like, if she's going to turn into a werewolf, tying her up will do nothing. So what's the point? Cauldron will say, "That's fair. I think what else is at risk is flight, really. What about this? Tamara, would it be okay if we just tied your feet, just your feet together?" Aren't we walking to find a place to stay? Are we in camp? Well, this is- We can still have this conversation. We don't have to tie her feet right now, but like, we stopped, I think.

Right, okay. That's basically- okay. So let's, without the parsing this too much, essentially, she would walk with the party for now, getting to camp untied, but probably walking close to Alina so Alina could guard her? Well, yeah, so I was thinking that while we're like walking or, you know, whatever, you know, Tatiana is like as far away from- as possible, and Alina would be walking next to Tamara tomorrow, I don't know, but not in like a, "Well, I have to make sure you don't run" way. It's more of an a, "I'm keeping you company, like I'm sort of on your side" type of way.

Okay. I think Callie would be on the other side of her too, just like, "It's okay, let's just stay calm." Escorts. Okay, so I'm- she would basically agree to whatever, because she suggested, "Okay, if you want to tie me up, tie me up, that's fine." So she would just go along with the party. I would imagine, however, this probably doesn't sit well with Braylin, Tatiana, and Lark. Right, I don't think Tatiana would know because she is- she went ahead first and is looking for camp, so she's that far away. And Braylin would notice because he's playing music, he's just like concentrating on the music.

Okay. So, sun is going to set, you guys are going to walk for another couple of hours, and you are going to start to make camp. Quick question. If Tatiana- I'm not trying to stare at shit, I swear to God. If Tatiana, Braylin, and Lark were to see Elena, Callie, and Tamara walk into camp with Tamara being completely untied, what would the reaction be? I mean, at this point, I think it's just blind frustration with her group, so Tatiana- she obviously does not feel like she's going to get her point across to these people, she'd make a second camp. Wow. Yeah.

Sorry, I'm so sorry. I love you all. There's nothing but an outpouring of love, but yeah, she totally would. I think he'd do that like, "Tatiana," but not stop her or anything. Like kind of a stop, wait, come back type of thing. You know that it's probably in vain. Yeah, exactly. Okay. I think Lark would basically choose a place to sit where he can essentially just stare at her. Just kind of across the fire or whatever, just be like, "I'm going to watch you until we figure this out," type deal. Like, "You don't have to be tied up, but I'm keeping an eye on you." Right.

Alright. Okay. Good Lord. Okay. I just realized you guys have traveled for about half a day. We're never getting out of here. You are! You're still getting out of here. Everything's going to be amazing. Before we bedded down for the night, I know we've kind of talked about it before out of session, but Callie usually does meditation/yoga in the morning, so she would bring Tamara through a few of those exercises to just kind of calm her down for the night. Good call. Thanks. Nice. Before we just fast forward through the evening. So Tatiana is in a separate camp.

Yep. How far away would you say? Like, five miles. I mean, it's far enough away that, you know, they can probably see each other's campfires. Okay. But is she going alone? I mean, I'm not saying anybody needs to come with her to this second camp, but she's not going to say no if anybody wanted to. I'm not. Brelyn would probably join, but before he did, he would look to Kaladin. He's like, "I'll keep an eye on her." Yeah, and Kaladin will nod like, "Yeah." Because it's not like you don't get it. You understand why she stormed off. So, okay. So Tatiana and Brelyn are in a separate camp.

Everyone else is still here and we're tying up Tamara, at least binding her feet. I mean, I'll do it, but it's like loose and doesn't mean anything. Oh, good lord. So... Wait, why? Why not mean anything? I don't understand. Because if she becomes a werewolf, what's the point? And then we just lost some rope. But she can still walk away as a human being. She doesn't have to be a werewolf to get up and run away from us. That's what I'm saying. So, yes, if she turns into a werewolf and busts out the rope, oopsie doopsie, we lost some rope. But the idea is to keep her around us.

Does that make sense? Yeah. But I mean, you do you. You do you. I mean, like, Alina just- Alina's gonna look at Tamara and ask, are you gonna run away in the middle of the night? Boy, I wish we were on the honor system. She's going to- she's gonna shake her head no, but she's also going to say- because this conversation is happening in front of her and this probably is the first time she's going to speak up in a while. If it'll make everyone feel better, just tie me up. It's fine. I wouldn't object to getting something to eat, though. Alina's gonna look at her and say, no, like, I don't- you know, you can stay free, but we're not going to give you any food.

I'm just kidding. That one caught me off guard. I was like, wait, what? So I just wanted to make a joke. No. Always the contrarian, Valerie. Yeah. Okay. If she's fine with being tied up, then I just get worried because like, what if we get ambushed and then she's tied up? But that's just like a fear of mine in real life. How often do you get tied up? I have a lot of fears, Jason. Because here's the thing, if we tie her up, right, and then something happens in the middle of the night, then now she's stressed and scared and tied up. She's gonna turn into a werewolf and then kill all of us.

Well, here's- That's what I'm saying. That was my whole point. Imagine- okay, you're dealing with the whole werewolf stress thing, too. Imagine the party also has a stress meter. And so far, they've put up with quite a bit. They were on board for kind of killing Tamara, and then that didn't happen. Now she's fully clothed and walking with the party, untied. That happened. Now she's in camp with them. Like, it's a balancing act. Tamara would just be like, yeah, just whatever. Just, it's fine. Just to try to avoid the fighting. Like, she doesn't want to see the cause of you guys fighting be her.

Like, she doesn't want that to be a thing. She just wants to get back home. She's reliant on you guys for that. But at the same time, like, she could see that this is causing you guys stress as well. Kalden will sit down by the fire and just sort of like, just do like a big breath. Are you not going to tie her up, though? Yeah, I'll tie her up. But it's not going to be like a really tight "she's a prisoner" type of thing. That's fine. Are you sure? Because it doesn't really sound like that's fine. So, okay, for the record, Tamara is tied up now. The job that's been done tying these knots is up for debate, but she is tied up.

And she's not trying to flee, basically. At least not right now. It sounded like you were going to say something. Who? Kalden. You. No. OK. Well, let's do a thing. Let's cut over to camp B. Oh, no. Tatiana and Brelyn, what's the situation like over there? Is this a situation where Tatiana is kind of stewing in camp or is it... How is she taking this, basically? What's Brelyn walking into? Oh, definitely stewing. I'm talking passive-aggressively, talking under her breath and kicking shit around camp and throwing sticks into the fire. She's aggravated. I think Brelyn would try and break the ice by telling her a story of when he was a child star.

Because I don't think he's ever told Tatiana or any of the new people what he used to do. So he would say, "Oh, I did this and I performed at these places." And just try and get her distracted from what's happening. I mean, I think it would maybe help a little bit, but at the same time, this has now been a few hours, right? Of her being with the group? Yeah. Of them knowing. Yeah. Yeah. So I feel like at a certain point, she's just going to sort of collapse to the ground and just put her hands on her head and just be like, "It's not fair. They're going to get us all killed." Brelyn will reply, "I mean, not entirely.

We stopped her once. I'm pretty sure we can do it again. I mean, I know I could." He's going to kind of just sarcastically shrug and nod his head back and forth like he's proud of himself. Tatiana's going to sort of lower her hands and just be like, "But that's what they do. They rip people to shreds, Brelyn. With no remorse, they never hold back." Where's her pack? Huh? Have you ever heard of a werewolf traveling alone? I've never really seen a werewolf before, I don't think. You seem to know an awful lot about him. Why don't you tell me? She's going to sort of look to the other camp, the fire in the distance, and just say, "Well, have you ever heard of the Great Hunt?" Jason, I would think I have, yes.

It's pretty common knowledge. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. When I was traveling a long time ago, yeah, I've heard about it. That's mostly where I get my information from. My mom's told me stories my whole life growing up. They're ruthless killers, Brelyn. She seems nice and like this small, fragile little girl, but I promise you, when she's in that form, she could give two fucks about you or I. Well, I mean, yeah, I know that. I saw her. I'm not blind. You don't think I'm scared? Of course I'm terrified. I'm just saying, we're not going to stick with it the whole time. Yeah, ruthless killer, sure.

I kind of got that from the fangs and the mouth and the healing things she did. But I mean, I'm pretty confident. If need be, we can take her down. I feel like that was just luck. I mean, how do you control that? How do you control power that massive? I mean, everybody's got power, Tatty. Look at Cauldron. That frail, beautiful man. He's got so much ice powers in him. Sometimes I'm afraid he's going to blow up one day and just all that's left there will be snowflakes and a pile of powdered snow. Well, my dad was the most powerful man I'd ever known. And he couldn't take one.

And then Brelyn's going to like kind of tilt his head. "Your dad? The guy we met?" No, that's my stepdad. "Oh, so you're real dad then. You're biological dad." Yeah. "What happened?" She's going to sort of like exhaustedly, because it's been a long ass day. She's going to sort of like exhaustedly sort of lean back on whatever I assume log she's sitting on and just say, "I mean, I was too young at the time to really get the details from my mother. All I know is that he went out for the great hunt with a group of people and he didn't come back. And ever since then, all I've been told growing up is to stay away.

Stay away from anywhere near that fucking city." Wow, I had no idea. Sorry. It makes a lot more sense why, you know, you were so adamant about joining my side and killing her. She's going to now sort of lean forward towards Brelyn and even though they're far away from the group, she's going to lower her voice to a whisper. And she's just going to say, "What are we going to do?" Brelyn's going to be really surprised. She's going to lean back. "We are going to go to sleep and talk about it in the morning." Kind of raising an eyebrow. She'll sort of smirk and be like, "Well, yes, I know that, but I mean, they don't understand.

What can I say? What can we say?" Brelyn's going to kind of put his thumb and index finger on Shin, kind of thinking, "Well, I mean, we all agree she's dangerous. There's no denying that. But I think Calli was right. You can't just decide who dies and who lives. I must have let my newfound strength and bloodlust, who's going to flex a little bit, kind of get the best of me. But I agree that we can't bring her to Lockford. I mean, hell, we can barely get out of this forest ourselves. Taking that with us can be pretty treacherous. But in these situations, I defer to Calton's judgment.

I mean, the last group I was with, we had someone who was really good at decision making. I mean, sure, things didn't always end up great. Our boat crashed and there was a purple worm one time, there was a Kraken another time, and then there was like a gate. Anyways, that guy's not here anymore. I haven't seen him in a while. But ever since Calton and I started traveling on our own, he's been the one I've looked up to and the guy who's made the shots, called the shots. If he says that this is the way we got to do it, then I trust him. I mean, he's not going to let any harm come to us, to me, to you, especially you.

You got us out of Brightport. I think what we need right now is faith. And then he's going to kind of, he was slouching a little bit, now he's going to kind of set up straight and think, "Yeah, faith. That's what it's called." I mean, it does seem to have a level head. And I think after, like, this is what Braylin said is obviously sort of calming down her rage a little bit. And she'll sort of like relax her body. It's been a long ass day. Yeah. Tell you what, you go to sleep. I'll take first watch for our second camp here. And I'll go steal some food from them and bring it over here.

She's going to look at Braylin really with sincere eyes and just say, "Thank you." Chuckle. Anytime. Like you're validating her emotions and it means a lot. He's going to give you the finger guns. He's going to get up from the small boulder he was sitting on and go over to the camp to get some food. And she's just going to pass out, like, is so physically and emotionally drained. I would say as Braylin goes to Camp A, I guess? Camp B-A. Camp B-A instead of Camp B-B. So grabbing some food, you guys settling down for the night. I think that's a pretty good time for us to stop for the evening.

Damn. Oh, shit. We're still in the woods. We're never getting to Durna. But wait. I don't know why you guys are complaining. I was in an attic for 45 minutes. I always forget that we existed before group two. Oh, my God. So many bombs. So many bombs. My mind has exploded. I will say we are advancing to the 16th of yesterdays. So that is one day. You are two days away from Durn Hollow. That was one day? That's half a day technically. Oh, my God. Fucking hats off to you guys. Everyone did an amazing job. I hope you guys enjoyed today's episode. We are continuing with our Theriathon month of content.

All the major episodes we're putting up in our feed were recorded at Theriathon. It's taken us a while to edit them and stuff because polishing a live episode takes just a little bit more time. Strahd, we're recording a brand new episode of Curse of Strahd tonight. And that'll be up on our Patreon later on in the month of May. They're full episodes being edited with sound and all that stuff. And they're going up in the $15 tier of Patreon.

There's also a host of other things we do there. I highly suggest you check them out. We're getting new milestones as we speak. We're producing new art. And we're almost at the point where we're going to start producing an audiobook every once in a while. So we really hope you guys enjoy that. Visit patreon.com/dandr for more details. That being said, again, if you could like, share, and subscribe to the podcast, it helps us in ways that we cannot tell you. We're trying to currently climb up the ranks in iTunes. So if you have an iTunes account and you haven't reviewed us yet or haven't subscribed, that would help us immeasurably.

We really, right now we're ranked 16th. If you search Dungeons and Dragons, that won't do. We really want to climb to the top of the charts, so please share the show with others, subscribe, and rate us, please. Thank you so much, and we'll see you next week with a brand new episode.
