Previously for Group B, after navigating Eldenbright Cavern and gaining the components necessary to regain Braelon's memories, the team figured that the worst was behind them that day. Unfortunately, just as they were starting to get comfortable, the ground beneath them started to shake. And that's where we pick things up today. Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason, I'm the Dungeon Master. Going around the table, starting with Jameson. Hey, it's Jameson. I play Larg.

I am a half-orc paladin. Also half-human, that's important. [Laughter] That half-orc gets forgotten. And Ian. Hey, I'm Ian. I play Cauldron. Hey, like the half-elf sorcerer. And I got a rumbly and a tumbly. And Karen. Hi, I'm Karen and I play Kali the elven druid and I'm definitely not the cause of this earthquake. And Valerie. [Laughter] I mean, hi, I'm Valerie and I play Elena, the human fighter. And I am just really great. [Laughter] You are really great. You are. You are amazing. Oh, god. Alex. Hey, I'm Alex and I play Braelon, the halfling bard. And pass. Okay.

Jamie. Hi, I'm Jamie. I play Tatiana, the human rogue. I like this new voice direction. Yeah, it's all peppy and stuff. I'm gonna catch a ball. [Laughter] Okay. Okay. Let's hunker down, everybody. Here we go. Alright, so, um, as you guys know, we're gonna get ready and simulate an earthquake. A rather large one, actually. And I thought a lot about this, 'cause standard earthquakes, like here, like in California, I've never felt one. Jamie, you said you felt one the other day? I sure did. It scared me. And it was just a little baby one, too. Like a little tremor?

I freaked the fuck out. I looked up like emergency kits for me and Julian. I pulled out the cat carrier, 'cause I was so scared. Aww. It was like a 2.3. Well, you guys rolled an 8. And Therian earthquakes are a little different, right? This is gonna be very localized. And we're gonna simulate a bunch of stuff here, because we wanna give the listeners a little bang for your buck. If it's just a little jolt, then that's not fun. We're gonna have to really ramp things up. And I figure with an 8 out of 10, big stuff's gonna happen. So, here's what I'd like to do.

First, I'm gonna share a map with you guys, and I want you to ignore the road. 'Cause there's no road. You guys are out in the middle of nowhere. And I'd like you to arrange yourself how you think you would be after you get out of this cave, and you've smeared this all over, that paste all over Braelyn's gums, and then he got his memories back, you had that conversation. Where do you think you'd be in that general area? Go right ahead. In a bathtub. Like a nice cast iron bathtub. An old-timey clawfoot bathtub. I brought that with me. It was in my inventory.

Where's the cave? Like, in what direction would that cave be? So, here's what we're gonna do. Let's say that red line, everything behind it is the cave, so... Okay. Yeah. And again, just your honest approximation of where you think you were standing when this rumbling started. Was this like right after we got out of the cave? Well, you guys had time to have a conversation and stuff. You guys, yeah. Oh yeah, 'cause we sat around a campfire and did stuff. Yes. Yes. Okay. Yeah. I didn't forget about the campfire. Which was built extremely safely, in a safe distance away from anything fly-movable.

Mm-hmm. Alright, so, here's what we're gonna do. Well, we know it's an eight. First of all, I want someone to roll a d10 for me. Good buddy. Ian, roll a d10. I had to say something. Everyone's gonna get a chance. You want low. It doesn't really matter, this is just fun. Okay, gotcha. Fun. Whoa, yeah, baby. Eight is all around. So, this is an 8.8. It is great, guys. It's just fun. That's good. I like those numbers. They're like even numbers, they can be divided. They're not prime numbers, they don't fight you. It's fine. Prime numbers? Okay, let's go with Valerie. Valerie, could you do me a favor?

Give me a flat d6. I could, but only if you explain to me what prime numbers in fighting is. Don't worry about it. I'll play it later. Okay. It's a math thing, you wouldn't get it. How dare you? I'm joking. Right? Don't hit me. How dare you? I'm joking. And I have your fight. There we go. Self-fulfilling prophecy. Oh my god. Okay. I'm gonna need more dice rolls. But for now, let's, okay. You guys are standing around and Braelyn's kind of breaking stuff down to you and you're having a really heartfelt conversation and at the end of it, you're gonna feel the shaking.

What would everyone's reaction be to that? Would you think that it's something large bearing down on you shaking the ground? Would you think earthquake? Would you think storm? What would be the first thing that would come to mind? How common are earthquakes in Theria? Well, I would say that it depends on where you are on the fire aisles. I figure it's a much more common occurrence. This is probably a pretty rare one, actually. So Lark thinks it's a monster. Okay. He gets up, he gets his shield, he gets his helmet, and he's ready to go. Okay. How common are earthquakes on the West Coast, like over in the Evergreen?

Like would Callie recognize that it's something? They happen every once in a while, but I'd say there are more tremors on that side. Nothing above a four, really. Okay. So I think, and tell me if I'm wrong, but I think it's like one of those things for anyone who's ever been in an earthquake. At first, you're kind of like, don't realize what's going on. And you like either feel your equilibrium going off or like you start to see like the trees or something swaying. Like something signals to you that it's not right. Or maybe you hear something, like extra creaking or rumbling.

And then you start to feel it. And I think that's what's called into this doing is like at first he's just hanging out with Brailin, got his arm around him. And then he just sort of like feels off and he just kind of like looks up into the evening sky a little bit. And then it's going to dawn on him in like a couple of seconds. Okay. I think Tatiana, because obviously they just fought that thing. And she doesn't like dark, scary places as soon as she sees Larg, like take out his arms. She's going to take out her hers as well and be like, what? Where? Like ready to go.

I think all that sounds very reasonable. Now, a couple of things are going to happen, obviously. Oh, geez. So let's start with the ground itself shaking. I want all of you to give me a Constitution save. All of you. Oh, wow. I have a plus zero to con, so there's that. Got it. You got this. Oh, see that plus seven to con? Damn. Okay. So for Tati. Okay. So Tatiana, Brailin, Kaldin are going to fall down. That's shaking just too violently. So you guys are going to be down here and you're going to start to hear this bouncing, this ricocheting. It sounds like stones are being jostled.

And if you look above the cave, there is sort of a mountain that gradually goes up into a large hill. And it's going to shake a bunch of damn stones of various sizes loose, and they're going to start to tumble toward the group. Now, here's what we're going to do with that. I need a reflex save for the entire group, but everybody's on the ground. You have disadvantage. What's a reflex save? Reflex? There's no reflex. Dex? Dex. Oh, car. So I'll do disadvantage. Do I get advantage because I got a natural 20? No. Well, okay. I mean, could have used that. The question, Jason, can I roll something to get in the way of a stone that might hit somebody else with the shield?

I'll tell you what. I guess it depends on how... your con save was pretty good, but I guess it depends on how... like, do you have your wits about you, that type of thing. Right. Okay, I'll do this. Was your objective to get in front of Callie? Yeah, I mean, she's right next to me, so if there's anybody I could probably help, it would probably be her. Okay, so let's do that. I think that's fair. So let's see. Who failed? So, okay. Kaladin, Tatiana, Braylin, Callie. But Lark's going to try and jump in front of this for you. So, what I'm going to do is I'm going to roll some damage.

Everybody who I didn't name is going to take the full brunt of this damage, and everybody who saved is just going to take half damage. So imagine there are stones the size of coconuts, and then there are stones the size of small, like, dogs just coming down. And these things are gaining a lot of momentum, and they're going to start to just bounce and hit, and it's going to be a huge pain. So, get ready for that. I'm going to try and cover Braylin with my body, as small and thin as it is. I was going to say, do you think that's wise? All right, here we go. 19 damage.

Now, oh boy. Okay, so let's start doing some math here. So that's going to be 19 damage to Kaladin. 19 damage to Tatiana. 19 damage to Braylin. Can I soak up any of that? If you want. You should not. Why would you do that? Yes, yes, I do. I do. You know what? I'll divide it evenly between you two. Is that sound fair? Yeah. Okay. So let's look at the old combat track. Oh, some of you were wounded before. Okay. Yeah, I'm like real close. That's not great. Oh, okay. Ooh, baby. Just running down the list here. Okay, wow. 32 total for Callie. What? Sorry, 32 total for Tati.

Sorry. I'm like, wait, what the fuck just happened? So Larg's going to take your damage. All of it? I mean, that's what he's trying to do, right? Which will leave Larg with seven hit points. Holy shit. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. Braylin's going to take eight. Kaladin's going to take eight. No, nine. Nine and nine. And then Elena. What did Elena roll? Oh, Elena did well. Yeah. So you're going to take half that. So you're going to take nine. So there's one more thing I need you to do before I move on. Now, there are a lot of these stones, and some of them are very heavy.

I need all of you to do me a favor. Roll a Constitution save one more time. Now, the check for this is going to be fairly low, but if you fail it, you are going to be pinned beneath this rubble. There we go. Oh, this is... Yes! Yeah, okay. Do I get advantage because Larg shielded me? Yeah. Yeah, let's say worst case scenario, you kind of get bowled over a bit, but like, yeah, you're good. Oh, wow, that advantage came in handy. Good. And finally, do you remember that too? You guys rolled earlier. Two fissures are going to get ready and open up. Now, they're going to be wide, and they're going to be deep.

They're about 10 feet wide, to be exact. Now, random is hard to do in a situation like this. So here's what we're going to do. I'm going to get two of you to roll dice. As long as neither one of you roll a five and below, these are not going to open up underneath of you. Does that sound fair? I don't know. Okay. What die are we rolling? A D20. Okay. A D6. [laughter] A D4. Yeah. All right. Two volunteers. Who hasn't rolled yet? I'll go. All right. Okay, so this is a D20, and all you got to do is not roll a five or below. That's a 14. Nice. I need one more volunteer. I'll do it.

Okay, good, thank God. Okay, here we go. Valerie. That was Karen. Yeah, that was Karen. Was it? Oh my God, that sounded like Val. You know what it is? It's so youthful and exuberant. Thank you. You're welcome. What are we rolling? You're rolling a flat D20. Oh, okay. Just don't roll a five or below. [laughter] God damn it. One fish is better than two. That's true. So one of these is going to open up. The ground itself is going to -- it's a horrendous sound. The ground itself is going to start to divide and spread apart. And below you, you are going to feel the shaking get so violent that I would say, "You know what?

Give me a length." 60 feet. 60 feet, okay. So let's say 10 feet wide, 60 feet long, and I'm just going to roll a D4. Eh. Three, perfect. Okay, so those two red lines that are going south, that is where the ground is going to open up. Now, oh boy. Okay, what I'm going to need is a deck save from Elena, Tatiana, Kaladin. Who is on the ground? I'm on the ground. Kaladin's on the ground. Oh no. Okay. I'm going to need you to roll with disadvantage. Disadvantage, okay. Okay. Can we go? I don't want to. I don't want to. I'm really scared. Okay. What the hell are you worried about?

What? Plus eight? I thought for a second that you had said "con" and I was like, "No, that's my worst one." And then I was like, "Oh, everybody else is rolling deckses, okay." Oh no. Okay, well Elena is going to nimbly sort of dodge out of the way of this because it's telegraphed enough that Elena's like, "Oh shit," and moves to one side. Let's say that Elena moves to this side of it and Tatiana is going to roll the other way. So, Kaladin. Yes? Kaladin. Oh Jesus, dude. Okay. Here's where things get tricky. Here is the exact situation you don't want to be in.

You have one arm. Somehow I always forget. Yeah. So, holding yourself up is going to be damn near impossible, but what I'm going to do is I'm going to give you one last chance. Before you fall into this deep, deep crevice, I'm going to... I want you to roll a reflex save with disadvantage. Okay. Here we go. Kaladin is going to tumble back and frantically just plunge his fingernails into the moist grass that you guys are on top of and try desperately with all of his might to just pull, and he is going to slip and fall into this crevice. Wait. Mm-hmm? So, I saw that the earth was opening up and I was able to jump out of the way because I was next to Kaladin.

Is there anything I can do to grab him before he falls? I mean, I wouldn't say so just because this is all happening at once. Yeah. If you imagine, one, the tremendous shaking, which has got to mess with your equilibrium and just your reflexes and timing, I wouldn't say that him trying to claw at the ground is just instinct. Just trying, right? All right. Kaladin's going to get ready and fall into this, so I have to... Now, it sounds like you have some sort of plan. Yeah, I think that I do. Okay. So, describe this falling a little bit. I want to hear what's happening.

Well, obviously, this isn't a perfectly scooped out Minecraft hole. There's going to be jagged bits of rock and roots and the ground itself. So, not only are you going to fall, there's just enough space, 10 feet, that you could fall pretty effortlessly without catching on anything. You will tumble and hit things. So, you're basically going to be pinballing back and forth between these two dirt walls all the way down until you finally hit something that's going to stop you. Okay. So, here's what I'd like to do. Okay. Kaladin has his grip and he's like...

He doesn't have a lot of strength in his arms. He's like pulling as hard as he can and he just slips out of this thing and watches the closest person to him, Braelyn, as he slips down into this dark hole. And he feels himself falling. And as he does so, he says some words in Draconic and casts the few sigils that it takes to cast a spell. And from his back, two ethereal, frosty, bluish kind of white dragon wings expand out and catch the air as he falls through this darkness. And for just a second, he's just floating there. And then he comes up out of this hole with these wings just flapping magically and like sublimation sort of like coming off of this.

Just like a little bit of ice and snow. And then he lands on the ground. I cast fly. Right. No, I gathered. I gathered. Hum. That's really tough. Because while that is the exact time that you want to cast fly, it does require like all three components of a spell. And not only do you have one arm, but you're tumbling backwards into the abyss. It's just I don't know if you'd have the wherewithal to pull that off. I didn't realize that Keldon had a spell called fly. And I'm like, damn, Ian's just really going for it. I was an angel all along. Well, I just kind of go until Jason stops me.

And I usually don't try to stop you. It's just like this is one of those. It's like, oh, am I going to be the dickhead to step in? Well, actually, after all that, like, I don't want to be that guy. But like, I do feel like this is that would be really tough. Well, OK, before we do anything, I want to say, Ian, I respect you because I know a lot of people would get attached when they say something out loud. They get attached to the idea and it just happened. And if it doesn't happen, then there's a fight. Oh, no. Yeah, I know that's not you. I'm an editor.

You take it apart, put it all back together before it's done. I know. I just I. So what I did while we're sitting here in silence is I came up with a pretty cool compromise. I think you just described a beautiful scenario. And I really hope we get to that. I do. I hope so, too. I do, too. So now what I want to do is I want you to roll a wisdom save. Now, here's what we're going to do. Ten. Ten's the number you're shooting for. Ten's a very reasonable number. I would say at ten, Kaladin would be using every tool he's got. And let's say, no, he didn't go into today thinking he's going to need to fly at some point.

And he probably didn't go into today thinking the ground beneath him was going to just drop away and vanish. So I think ten is a reasonable goal. Now, anything below ten, we're going to work on that. But ten is the number you are shooting for. OK? OK. Here we go. God, I wish I had that nineteen I rolled earlier. OK. That's beautiful. Twenty is more than enough. Double what you need. So everything you described with, I would say, you tumble probably a good ten, fifteen, twenty feet somewhere in there. Twenty feet would probably be accurate. Because you need time to verbally say the stuff you need and trace the stuff and all that stuff.

So you're like fucking... I imagine it's pretty close to when people do the cross thing. It's like, go and wings. Boom. You're going to fly up and you're going to land just about the time that this earthquake is going to die down and everything's going to cease. So congratulations, guys. That was unpleasant, but we got through it. I'm going to throw up. I had in the chat ready to go, I don't got this. For listeners at home, I've been typing, I got this, I got this. Don't worry, don't worry. That out. Oh, man. That is one of those things that if you were to fall down, it's like, yeah, I don't know if you'd survive that.

Yay. That's good. We don't have to deal with that shit. So you could carefully get the hell away from that fissure. And no one was even knocked out. You guys are champions by this point. But we got a problem because there's somebody 10 feet across. Here's the thing. Oh, it's 60 feet long, right? Yeah, you could just go around it. Or at this point, I'm not going to make you roll to see if you can hop across or something. Like, we're beyond that. That's level one shit. Jason does have mercy. I do. I tried. Okay. Last night should have proved I have mercy. Yeah, I guess.

There's a few. There are some breadcrumbs like, oh, come on. For those of you who don't know what we're talking about, maybe you should subscribe to Patreon. Good plug. I know I'm gonna. I'm gonna subscribe right now. Thanks, guys. I'm already subscribed. Hey. That's why Karen's my favorite. Let's see. The truth comes out. That's why I've had to kill her so many times. I can't let people know. It's a secret. All right. After all this, how would you guys be feeling? Like what? I mean, I imagine you're picking people up and just, you know, getting the rocks off of them or away from them.

I imagine there's lots of bruises and people are banged up, scraped up. Yeah, Braelyn will go to Larg. First, he'll hug Kaladin and then put up a finger like, one second, run to Larg and then give him cure wounds. Yeah, I feel like Larg has kind of still got his shield kind of up covering in case more stuff comes rolling down the hill and his shields all got rock dense in it and stuff. He's just kind of looking around like, what? What happened? Braelyn's just like, oh, stand still. Stop, stop, stop moving, stop moving. He's going to put his hands on his face.

Hey, hey, big guy. Stop moving. And he's going to kill him. It's like I'm just aggressive, like, oh, thank you. I think Calli would heal him too while he's doing, while Braelyn's doing that. Because she's right there. Yeah, those rocks effed me up pretty good. Double heal. Can Tatiana peek down? I want her to go and look to see how far down this thing goes. Sure. But she's very careful about it. Yes, I know. And then Tati trips. So it's obviously nighttime, which is going to make this more difficult, but this appears to go on so deep that you can't see a bottom.

Would it be possible, you say, that, could it be possible that it opens up into the cave we were just in, but like super low? Maybe. I mean, it just sounds cool. That's all. I mean, yeah, maybe. You could drop a torch down if you wanted to. Oh, yes. I'm sorry. We were talking while you were out talking about the hammering thing, and this is the whirlpool all over again. Oh, OK. Yeah, it's happening. You know, this is how you guys get into trouble. This is why we have so many side quests. Your Skyrim, like... I was going to say, did you ever play Witcher 3 before?

Yeah. Your quest log's just jam packed. The log's not going within 10 feet of that opening. Does Larg have a fear of heights? He does now. OK. He's a fear of rocks. All earth. Would I have to roll a nature check or anything to be worried about more rocks falling down or potential of an aftershock? Well, as for more rocks rolling down, I think it's more a common sense check where it's like, OK, that happened before, that could happen again. The aftershock thing, I wouldn't worry too much about. That was just... I would say that the group probably feels as though the worst is behind you.

Now, you are more than welcome to toss a torch down that hole if you want. All those fucking bat monsters are going to come out. I think Calli would be encouraging people to move away from even the mountain/cave. Like, maybe we should move camp. Larg nods enthusiastically. So maybe you guys travel for a little while, maybe like a nice half hour jog away from this place and set up a new camp, maybe get some sleep for the night? Yeah. Did you get the extra 4 that Calli gave Larg? Because I don't think it did it. Oh, I'll take care of it. Thank you. Of course.

Yeah, I think if we set up camp, move for a half hour, set camp further away from any mountainsides or anything like that, that'd be awesome. OK. We'll take care of it. So you guys are now officially away from this place. You're gone and you're setting up tents and stuff. It's late at night now in the third, essentially the fourth. And you guys are finally settling down with a complete team. Everyone's got their memories. No one has been murdered by rocks. It's great. You guys are doing great. Falling. Or falling? That came close. Would you guys like to do anything before you settle in for the evening?

Sleep. Sleep so much. I'm going to burn one more spell slot on Tatyana for Cure Wounds, even though we're probably going to get a long rest. But hey, let's just burn it anyways. It's the thought that counts. Thank you. Sorry, five isn't that good to you, nothing but. I'm definitely fly around while we walk since I got 10 minutes to burn. Right. I'm taking my new wings out for a spin and I'm just like going up above, just checking out the scene. Does anyone have a question about that shit by the way? Yeah, I think Brelin would be just like the whole time looking at him fly around like, what the fuck?

What? And then as soon as he lands or if he like comes back down and kind of flies next to you, like what? How? When? I don't know. I've been cultivating magic and maybe it's just something new. I mean, it was a little bit out of desperation, that's for sure. That's incredible. I literally, I've never seen anything like that. Tatyana's just going to say, and also could be very useful as she sort of like rubs her chin. Right now he peeks behind, and here's Tatyana say that and it's like kind of nice. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Maybe, you know, you fly on some ledges. I mean, no, we can't really talk about that right now.

That's no, no, no, no. I'm interested to hear the prospect. Got yourself a second story, man. Greaser. Yeah, another greaser. Finally, I'm not the only one now. I want to take a look at this key that we've got. Just like take a little inspect of it. Sure. Because I remember I picked up some key with a code on it, right? Is there anything else to glean from that or was that just it? Well, you picked up a key with a number essentially etched into it. And that was, geez, that was, well, in game that was only a few hours ago, basically. Right. Yeah. So the numbers 423 are carved into the end of it.

And what it looks like is an old school kind of iron key. Like you're guessing it might be an apartment number or it might be like maybe the business is called 423 or something? Oh, okay. So it seems like all like one number. It's not like 48, 15, 16, 23, 42. No, no, no, no. It's not like a combination or anything like that. Okay. I, you know what? I'll let you run a check because every town and city is different, right? Sometimes you could tell based on the age of what something looks like. You can kind of ascertain. You could narrow down like, okay, these cities tend to use this type of system.

So if you'd like, you can give me a wisdom check. Yes, yes, yes. Wisdom, wisdom, wisdom. Nah, never mind. Better that happened now than with the wings. That's true. That eight would not have done you well. Oh boy. Do they, maybe I can't tell with this check, but are the little ring in the key correlated at all? Like, do they seem like they're correlated? The ring of the demon at lard identified. You're not sure. Like it doesn't look like inherently those two things are tied together. Okay. It does, the key looks to be quite a bit older than the ring. The ring looks a little bit more polished.

The key looks like it's a little, not rusted, but you could definitely tell it's like this has been around the block for a while. Okay. You guys ready to get some sleep? Yes. So here's what we're going to do. First of all, let's give everybody a long rest. Oh wow. Beautiful. Boom. I think that's the longest we've ever gone. So much happened in like a night. Do you guys remember Don Hurst? Because I remember Don Hurst. Yeah, that's right. That's true. Jesus. You guys didn't get to sleep until you crawled out of the sewers beneath Don Hurst. You crawled out of the poop water.

Yeah, man. Into the poop lake. Anyway, things are much better now. I still had a couple spell slots left, so I mean, like we were good to go. I threw everything at that, Durotcha. I had nothing left. I had nothing left. So, it is now the fourth of Faerieor. Now, you guys are on the road to Esterholt, and for the most part, there's a very low chance of dangerous activity in the spot that you're in, unless the ground itself decides to swallow you alive. But when it comes to wildlife and stuff, you guys are kind of out in the prairies, out in the fields here.

So, until you get to the mountains, you really don't have a ton to worry about. But what I'd like is I'd like one of you to roll a flat d20 with a plus five. I guess I'll do it since I'm overdue. Okay. Sorry, Anabis. Thirteen! That's beautiful. So, for the next two days, you guys are going to have a pretty easy go of it. You're going to stop frequently and enjoy the nice, cool breeze. There'll be a light drizzle on the second day, but nothing you guys can't handle. It's... After the earthquake, I'd say it's just long enough for your nerves to kind of calm down.

After you get done with that cave and the earthquake and the dorach and all that stuff, you're probably just... Your head's on such a swivel that it's like, "Okay, what next? What next? What's coming after us?" And these two days are nice, pleasant. You're going to go past a river at some point. Ooh, can I go hunting? You absolutely can. Maybe some fishing? Yeah. Some fresh food. You know what? Give me a... Okay, so is there something particularly big or something you're after? Are you after like... Is this like a trophy hunting thing, or are you more just like, "Let's get some food for everybody"?

Yeah, just like a nice fresh meal. Nothing crazy. Well, I didn't know. I was just... Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to like, bury you. Just stop being dumb. Give me a survival check. Just a little touchy, okay? Survival, you said? Please? Okay. Oh, wow. Okay. So you're going to be out and about, and you're going to find something very strange. These are not large creatures, but they're not native to Alara, which means someone either kept them as pets and then let a bunch of them go, or they maybe smuggled them over here or something. But you haven't seen these on this continent before.

But they're called Brunbruns. And essentially what they are is really, really fat rabbits. Oh my God. They are delicious, is the thing. They are cute and delicious. And this is like, okay, if you're out and about, this is kind of a delicacy. It's very tender meat. I'm sorry, all you vegetarians and vegans. I'm sorry, Valerie. I'm sorry. But they're fictional animals. No one's getting hurt. So, yeah, essentially, this is a great find. This is going to fill everybody up. You probably got some leftovers and stuff for the morning. Awesome. I love you, Val. You're nasty.

How big are their tearful eyes? Oh, doe-like. So big. No. And they speak, too, so they plead with Callie. Don't. But... Callie! No, I'm kidding! The only words they know are "No, please!" and that's it. That's all they know. I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I love you. I'm going to start crying. How do they plead? Oh, I'm going to get another email. Okay, so... Kalden picks up a rabbit leg and she's on it. He looks through the group and he's like, "Uh, dude, those kind of natural disasters usually have names. Like, you know how, I don't know, hurricanes and things are called after people.

What about earthquakes?" I never knew anything that destroyed stuff had names like that. It's news to me. And Larg just looks at Callie. Callie's going to, like, sugar shoulders. I've never experienced anything like that before. Well, should we give it a name? Sure. I'm sorry. It's like, "Are you talking to me?" Callie's in charge of nature. We know this. Yeah, Callie, what sort of... What would be the appropriate thing in elven? Tatiana's learning elven. This is a good chance for her to pick up a word. Fuck you, Ian. That doesn't sound like a yes and to me. I for one am waiting with bated breath.

Yeah, I hate all of you. I mean, my logical answer is, "We'll just name it the Eldenbrake because there's the Eldenbrake Cavern. We'll just name it the Eldenbrake quake or whatever." I mean, that works. That's not a bad thing. I don't like that, but I would also say that. You said it in a weird way, I guess, Callie, but that's fine. Sorry. The accents are a little different. That's what... Oh, okay. The elven accent sounds very sarcastic. Tatiana's writing this all down in her little notebook, by the way. So that's canon now, "Would elf sound sarcastic?" "Greetings or whatever." That would be a fucking nice trip.

Guys, it is the sixth of Farahor. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. How? Wait. Did we? Yeah. Two days. I described the two days. There was a little drizzle in the second day. They're like rabbits. Yeah, they're rabbits. Okay, I remember the rabbits. Oh my God. I thought I was going crazy for a second. Oh, no, you're fine. You're fine. Okay. I'm beginning to think you don't listen when I speak. No, I do, but it wasn't in my head. And then I thought, okay. So it's been two days. Got it. It's been two days. You blacked out for two days. Oh, Jason, I do want to keep the Bren-Bren's Pelts, though.

Okay, good. So you know. Oh, man, you can make some pretty cool stuff because they are fairly insulated. They come from Athias, and it's got a bit of a chill to it. So you can make things like fur-lined boots and all kinds of stuff like that. People make little hand mufflers. That's okay. I'm going to make earmuffs. Okay. Yeah, they're very soft. It's surprising that something so beautiful and generous and cute comes from Athias. Well, you know what they say about travelers on Athias when things literally reach out and tell them, "Don't go here." Hey, it didn't talk to me.

No, it didn't. I didn't hear that at all. I didn't hear it. No, I'm just saying the two Athias groups we've run so far, there was literally a note you tossed aside and didn't read, and then the trees themselves told you, "Hey, get the fuck out of here," and you started burning and chopping them. Oh, my God. That's only half the story, Valerie. Don't feel sorry for the trees. And to get the other half, you have to subscribe to Patriot's. To get the real story. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Fake tree news. You guys are going to get to the base. There are two mountain ranges.

There's Black Rock Mountains and the Blistering Peaks, and they kind of jut up against each other, and there is a trail that leads through them. It's a little--it's not treacherous. I wouldn't use the word treacherous, but it's a lot less kind than the wide open plains and stuff you guys have been walking through. So what I need on the sixth day of Farah Yore is I need someone to roll a flat d20 for me. Ooh, I haven't done anything. OK. Could you roll a flat d20 with a negative three, please? Why a negative three? Yeah, like you said flat d20. Like, it feels like just because I said it, you're like, "Mm, negative three now." No, I wouldn't do that.

It's a--I'm sorry, roll a d20 with a negative three. OK. Come on. One, two, come on. One, three, OK, got it. Tight. Beautiful. OK. So have any of you ever been through these mountains before? Just wanted to ask. I don't think so. Yeah. I don't know. Well, Karen has. Valerie has. But like your characters. We took the trail to Odysseus from Esterhold a long time ago, but not through the mountains, I don't think. Yeah, I doubt when I went from Overdell to Esterhold, I went all the way down to Odysseus. Like, that doesn't seem-- Oh, yeah, I probably went north through Betrayal Ridge and then south down to the mountains or something.

That would probably be the much safer route. Yeah. Unless like time was of the essence or something. Yeah. So there are a lot of things in these mountains. And there's kind of a reason why people haven't built cities up in here, just because it's tough to get goods back and forth. And there are a lot of big wild creatures out here. So you guys are going to walk for a full day and you're gradually climbing up. The way this works is essentially there are these winding mountain trails that are going to creep further and further up. And there are a couple of times where if you were not careful, you could easily slip and fall.

And you tumble a good 200, 300 feet before you land on something that could really break your fall. And you'd probably break bones. So I would imagine you guys are kind of taking it slow around these areas, unless I'm wrong. No, I think that's right. OK. Can I ask a question really quickly? Sure. I have this thing called second story work, which basically means that I can climb a little better. I gain the ability to climb faster than normal climbing and it doesn't take me any extra movement. So can I be upfront choosing the right things? Oh, yeah, I would imagine like you probably now that's that's usually for scaling.

Let's say you're on a pirate ship and you want to scale a mast or you're on a building. But basically you have the ability to judge footholds and handholds a little faster. And obviously you're probably not single anybody out, but you're probably babying Calton a little bit, because if he were to have to fall and, you know, support his body weight one, Calton again, not to not to not to single anybody out. Calvin is not the most athletic member of the party and he has one arm. So the tea just getting spilled tonight. No, no, no. If I were hanging from a cliff, I'd be in trouble, too.

I'm just saying. I mean, now you can fucking fly. So that's fair. So fuck him. I mean, I feel like if it gets particularly steep, we would probably tie ourselves together. Right. Because that's like what climbers do. Yeah. Which. Yeah. I mean, I don't ask me for the logic there because like, oh, I feel like if one of you falls, then all of you fall. Yeah. But like. Yeah. There must be a reason they do it that way. Right. I guess I guess I could Google it. But like that's. Yeah. And if you guys go mountain climbing. No, not like that. Not where there's danger. So, yeah, that's going to be you're going to you're going to be climbing and I'd say you're making camp the first night and you are quite a ways up by this point.

And you are going to fall asleep and everything's going to be all right. Great. Good. The seventh affair. Here's what I want you guys to do again. These paths are starting to get more and more narrow until sometimes there's only a five foot. You have to kind of slink around rounded rocks that sort of shut out. So you're you're kind of having to duck and then hog this slick, rounded rock to get around. It's terrifying. So what I'm going to ask, are you guys tied together? Is it steep? Like, is it particularly steep? Because I don't think it would come across at least Tatiana's mind unless we're like going directly up, you know, I wouldn't.

It's steep, but like you're not climbing up. Basically, it the the elevation has gradually got to a point where if you were to fall off, obviously, I mean, you could fall to your death. Best case scenario, you're breaking bones and you're going to have to be rescued. How are you feeling, Kalden? I think probably what it is is Tatiana's leading the group. Kalden is like directly behind her because, one, it's easier for him to like find the handholds that she has. And if he struggles, he can like ask for help, basically like a little pull up or if he's like clutching.

And I imagine like I imagine the way he is climbing this, too, is mostly with his legs and then like putting using his one good hand and then shoving, just sort of like shoving his body against the whatever the steep ground as much as he can. So he's basically like using his shoulder and his arm to climb. And he's doing it like mostly like that, sort of like worming his way. But he can like be like Tatiana, just a little boost, and she can like grab him maybe and like give him a little pull to the next thing. But I don't think they they necessarily need to be tied.

Right. Maybe just whoever the next strongest climber would be after Kalden. Yeah, I feel like Elena would then be behind Kalden. OK, so we got we have Tatiana, Kalden, Elena. Who's next? I think Larg would be last because if he falls, he doesn't want to bring everybody down behind him. OK. Maybe Braylin would be next then, I guess. OK, so we got Tatiana, Kalden, Elena, Braylin, Callie, Larg. I like it. OK, here's what I ask you to do. One by one, I'm going to ask you to make a reflex. Why do I keep saying reflex? A dexterity check. Because I'm doing the whole second story leading thing.

Do we get like advantage or like bonus? I'm going to I'm going to give you a plus two. Before we climb up, I'm going to look at Callie and Larg and tell them to huddle up a little bit if they can get close. And I'm going to inspire both of them. Guys, we're in the back because we're the best. All right. They need us to catch them. And that's what we're going to do. Go team venture. So I'm going to burn two bardic inspirations for Callie and Larg. OK. Thank you. I'm going to need that. So here we go. One by one you're going now the way this works, basically, is there is a rock that's shutting out and essentially one by one, you are going to have to skirt around this.

And when you're on the other side of it, it's going to block your line of sight to the rest of the party. Are you ready? Yes. All right. Tatiana, do me a favor. Give me a Dex check with a plus two. Oh, you're great. You're fine. So Tatiana is going to nimbly kind of like duck down, hug this rock and just like just do it. So, OK, I worked I worked with a guy who was this very nimble dude, kind of short. And he taught me to go up scaffolding, which is terrifying. And now picture me trying to climb the side of scaffolding. There's no ladder. You're just climbing a structure like King Kong.

And he's like, just scurry on up. That's what I picture, because I've never scurried in my entire life. I just pictured you scurrying, though. Yeah. Yeah. I've meandered. I've moseyed. I've never scurried, but that's what the rest of the party is going to do. Tatiana is just like, just scurry across. It's great. Oh, wow. Another 20. I'm going to have a frickin swole ass arm after this. Man, you're going to lady in the water this all up. I'm going to terrible movie this all up. Elena, you're up next. So I imagine it's kind of a confidence builder, right? Like I kind of feel like like I kind of feel like it's Tatiana doing all the work.

Like the only reason he gets up is not his own volition. It's like Tatiana reaches down and that's it pulls him up. Right. Yeah. Okay, I guess it's my turn. You got this. Jesus. 18. You're fine. So Elena probably doesn't look as graceful because I imagine only has got some heavy armor and stuff on, but does manage to do it just fine. Right. We got Breland. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, boy. You got this, baby. Oh, look at that shit. 18. This is great. This is good so far. You guys are not. You're just none of you have rolled below a 10. It's amazing. So Breland is actually short enough that he doesn't even need to hug the rock that much.

Like he can kind of like duck under and skirt around it and he kind of crab walks little hammer hammer dance across the thing. The whole time. He's just like, oh, shit, oh, shit, oh, shit. And I imagine. So there's the point where you're edging out onto this ledge and it's super sheer and it's super like narrow. And the worst part is when you're basically too far from the you're past that point of no return, but you're not quite on the other side where people can grab you yet. So there's that point where you're just suspended between two worlds and above nothing.

And Breland's going to shimmy just that few it's like just and just get to the other side. Callie, let's keep this train going. So if I have inspiration, I can roll with advantage. No, it's so you get it before he tells you the result. You can choose to use a D8. Oh, OK. Yeah, I'm going to use that D8. OK, let's let's get it. So that's a 10. 14, you're fine. Now we're wrapping up the walk. I imagine Callie hesitated a little bit before she decided to go. So that's you know, it's not very graceful at all. I imagine with that 10 you get out to that point where you're suspended between the two ledges and you freeze up a little bit.

If anybody's ever been in a position like that, just freeze and lock up. And it's the worst feeling in the world. It's like when you're like a little kid Discovery Zone, you know, you can't you don't know how to climb the fucking thing. Yeah, oh, everybody's telling you, just do it. Just go for it. Just get it. And you're like, shut up, everyone shut up. You just but then that inspiration kicks in. That's doing it when you get over here. Like, it's going to be great. Yeah. Oh, fuck everybody who said shit like that. So Callie's going to freeze up just a little bit, but that inspiration is going to kick in.

She's like, fuck it. And just scurries and makes it. And that brings us to Larg. Here comes the human dump truck. Half human. Half human. Whoa. What? Sixteen. Larg is just going to muscle his way across, like almost if you didn't know any better. It looks like he is digging his fingers into the rock itself to create new handholds. Like it's it's it's not graceful, but very effective. Problem solving. Problem solving. That's all that matters. That's it. You each have you each have skills independent of one another and you're bringing them to this fight. And I love it.

Congratulations, guys. Yay. Oh, that was fun. I almost died on a cliff. I'm up here. Oh, what's the view like? Oh, Jesus. So, OK, you are essentially surrounded by mountain ranges right now and the blistering peaks. You can look to the north east. Right. So picture you're skirting around this. But in the distance, you can see these beautiful snow capped peaks. This is more of a Mars-ish terrain, red rock situation you got going on over here. And you're just elevated enough that you could see forests below you. We're talking, you know, way in the distance, but beautiful forests that you can you can actually from here.

They look so easy to traverse, so picturesque. They're just beautiful pine trees just kind of swaying. You can see the very tips of them swaying in the background and clouds look like they're so close. You can reach out and grab them. Colin is just gobsmacked. He's looking around. He's like, it's amazing how it can be so beautiful and so terrible at the same time. They probably don't have any views like this in any city, eh, Log? Yeah, I hate it. He's just sweaty and kind of dogged. Is this just after the... Yeah, they're all admiring the view and he clambers up in the back.

It's terrible. So. Up ahead of you, you're going to keep going for probably another 20 minutes. And you've reached this elevation now that. It's it's it's the air is just a tiny bit thin. It's just kind of noticeable. Can one of you give me whoever's leading this party? Because I imagine you're marching single file at this point. Could could you give me a perception check? I'll do it. I haven't rolled yet. Sweet. And that's the fellowship. Oh, that's on fire. Callie is going to see some scattered rocks up ahead, which isn't out of the ordinary at this point, but there's some scattered rocks.

But it's what's around the rocks that's going to grab Tatiana's vision. You're going to see bones. They look to be a human. They. It looks to be a pile of bones kind of scattered, laid out. And just as Tatiana sees them, she's going to hear a noise. This mammoth grunt. It's definitely not human, whatever it is. It's loud and it's echoey. And I think it's going to ripple through like it's going to be one of those things where Tatiana picks it up and everybody else is like, what the fuck was that? And there's nothing in sight yet. But slowly trudging. Around this corner, I'd say that this this this mountain pass continues to wrap around to the to the right.

A very large figure is going to start to become visible. This huge, disgusting looking, ogreish creature with these sort of warped, mutated horns in front of it, carrying a large club and a single eye. And it's going to stare out for just just a second. This is all happening with like within the course of five or 10 seconds, it's going to kind of stare out and then pan over to the group. What would you like to do? Who? We all see it. I. Said it was huge, right? Yeah, I would say after the noise you guys are looking and it's not behind you because and it's it's not flying.

So like, yeah, the options are limited. I would say you're all pretty much like looking over each other's shoulders. And I think after the noise, too, after just having survived an earthquake, Tatiana would bring that to everyone's attention as soon as it happens. Oh, man, imagine earthquake up here. Oh, my God. Yeah, I thought I wanted into the earth. You die in the game, you die for real. I don't do that, basically. Uh, Brandon was going to go visible instantly. Like, no question. Yep. Yep. That track. Nothing bad has ever happened with that. I want to cast Spider Clam on myself.

OK, I don't know how long it lasts, though, because it doesn't say some looking. Jason, is this 10 minutes after we climbed up or longer? About 20. OK, sorry, like you don't have inspiration anymore. That's OK. I don't feel it's going to be fine. I mean, I feel smite is just as good as inspiration. So, yeah, I mean, large going to have to shield up and kind of maybe like with a gesture, kind of encourage people to kind of step behind them a little bit. But otherwise, just kind of watch the thing and wait for and see what it does. I think as soon as it like turns the corner and we can see it, Tatiana is going to go like dead still, like dead still since she's in front.

So I don't know that she would see you, Lark. Sorry. All right. So Tatiana is in front. Let's do that first. Who would you say is behind? Let's do order here. Well, I think Kalden is still behind Tatiana for going off of climbing and he probably freezes, too. He sees Tatiana freeze, sees this thing. Just waiting to see. OK. And then, you know what? I'll just drop Braelyn in behind and then I'll drop Elena in there and then I'll drop, let's drop a Callie and then a Lark. Let's share this map. And just just like just just real quick. What is it that we saw? Well, it appears to be a cyclops.

OK. Yo, this map. Right? Oh, wow. Don't fall off. Holy shit. That's oh my God. That's gorgeous. This thing is going to pick us up and throw us off one by one for sure. Yeah, that's why I cast Spider Clam on myself. That's what it sounds like. Everyone's just going to scatter. So and so it's in front of us on the path is. Yes. OK. Yeah. Your options are a bit limited here. All right. So unless somebody else is going to do something, Lark's going to do something. OK. So I say sequence of events is this thing rounds the corner, looks over at you and doesn't that doesn't make a noise, but instantly kind of like does that little like flex thing like, fuck, are you doing here like that?

That type of thing. How big is it? How tall is it? Oh, man. It's a good probably 12, 15 feet tall. OK. So nobody else has got to get anything ready to go. I think we did ours. I mean, I mean, yeah, go for it. Yeah. Lark's going to kind of have that look like. All right. And he's going to kind of square shoulders up, grab his hammer, grab his shield and kind of bang them twice against each other and march to the front of the group. And he's going to march toward this thing like he's not afraid of it. And he's going to square up and he's going to intimidate against it.

Oh, well, that's a ballsy play. Basically, like he's going to get into he wants to make it look like he's too much trouble to try to kill. OK, so how close are you getting to it? I'm going to get how close were we to begin with when we noticed it? You're probably like twenty five, thirty feet away. All right. I'm going to half that distance. OK, so let's call it 15. OK, so like here ish or a little closer? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, that's good. OK. In fact, five feet closer. OK. I guess roll an intimidation check against the Cyclops. Hmm. What do you what do you say or do to try and intimidate this thing?

So I don't think he's going to try to say anything because I don't think he's assuming that it speaks his language. I think he's doing it all with body language. He's probably going to kind of hulk up as much as he can. And yeah, look like he's more trouble than he's worth. Yeah, OK. This thing is going to take that as intent to hurt it. Like you're it's it's it's basically think of Cyclops as really big jocks of the mountain. And that's going to take it's like, oh, you want to go that type of thing. So it is going to slam this this club into the ground and just let loose this scream.

And it's going to kind of ring out and echo where you guys are. Everyone do me a favor. Give me initiative. Sorry, everybody. No, no. It's good swing. Yeah. Oh, dang. Well, I'm glad they're there. Shit. Elena, you're going to have to run up to this thing and punch it in the mouth. I'll do it. Don't don't get just don't get picked up and thrown off the cliff because I have I have a strong feeling. This is how he's remained champion of the mountain. Oh, man. Remember, it's susceptible to the same thing you are. I mean, not as susceptible, but like it could fall. It's hard to push bigger monsters from what I remember.

Yeah. Yeah. It's not easy. Where is this thing? Oh, there is that thing. Oh, I just didn't slide over. Yeah. It's real pretty. What's the size of it? It goes second. Yeah, it goes second. God damn it. So I would say, OK, conservatively, let's figure this thing is like 10 to 12 feet tall. It's big. What size is it in D&D terms? Oh, Jesus. Is that huge, right? Yeah, I think a huge. How much does it weigh, though? Eighty trillion pounds. And star, right? Yeah. Well, he ate the sun is so. So this is larger than large. Yes. Oh, yeah. And yeah. And I don't think Tatiana would know this.

But could you tell Jamie, would it speak giant or would it? Because I asked in the chat if it was like sentient and Jason said yes. Mm hmm. Do you speak giant? No. That's Jamie. Not as well. I mean, depending. It might. OK. I was just curious. I mean, not I don't want to generalize and say all Cyclops speak, you know, he speaks happily. You never know. Yeah. I mean, I don't want to I don't want to guess. Talk to him. But you do it as you're invisible and they'll spook them. Yeah. They'll jump up and fall. Genius. Yo, Raylan to teach Tatiana this invisibility. Well, I didn't go arcane trickster, so it doesn't exist.

It does. Oh, I mean, can you play an instrument? No. Then you're out of luck. I can't teach you. You could learn. I won't. Maybe. Maybe later. Maybe after Elvish. We'll see. OK. Instruments 101. Don't suck. I like that Tatiana is just like Jamie. And it's like, I'm just going to pick up more hobbies. Just go. That is very true. I never realized that. How is that about? How do I get into that? OK. Are we ready? I have one more question. OK. Is it holding anything? It's holding the club. OK. OK. Fuck off club. Yeah, it's. Yeah. This don't get hit by that club. Just let me tell you that.

Knock you over the ledge club. Alayna! Oh, so I am first. Oh, you are first. OK. Let's see. Got this shit. OK. Why not? So I have a movement speed of 30, so I'm going to move up, I think next to Larg. So there's just a wall of tank in front of this thing now. And it's not next to me. So if I use like another action to move, like that would be my whole other action, right? Yep. Do you have a bow and arrow? Yeah, but. I want to. Maybe you'll hit it in the eye. Oh, that's a call shot. What if I move back here and I wait for the Cyclops to go towards Larg and then I'll go at the Cyclops so that I can hit it on my turn?

I mean, sure. Let's do that. You're delaying. I don't even know if that exists in 5e. Whatever. Oh, really? I thought you could. Does it? I know you can. Whatever. Who cares? We're just going to do it. Cyclops. Sorry, Larg. What if I moonwalked back here? She's trying to make everyone look bigger, make the problem look bigger. Oh, that's smart. OK, here's what's going to happen. The Cyclops is going to move up. And it's going to square up to Larg, who threatened it. OK, but which of us is tougher looking, though? It's funny because if you can see the combat map right now.

You OK? You sound like you're losing your voice. A little bit. Oh, no. I think I'm all right. OK, everyone cross your fingers. He is going to raise this club above his head and try to bring it squarely down on Larg. 17 will miss. So I imagine Larg picking up his shield and this thing gets kind of deflected off of it. And what he's going to do is he's going to twirl around with this thing and try to bring the club down again. And that's going to miss. Yes. So he's going to hold the shield up and he's going to deflect the first hit and then he's going to deflect the second hit.

And he's just going to lower his shield and just spit on the floor and look at it. Alana, you're just going to take that initiative. So now you are right after the Cyclops. Go do your thing. OK. I'm going to go next to Larg. Yes, still on this side. And I am going to let me just double check. OK, so it's only if I actually hit it. So I'm going to try and hit it with my sword with advantage. Yes. Yeah. Because you are you're standing there toe to toe with Larg. You're going to try and just bully this thing off the mountain. So go ahead. OK. That's going to hit. 16.

Perfect. So along with hitting it with my sword, I'm also going to use disarming attack. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend one superiority die to attempt to disarm the target, forcing it to drop one item of your choice that it's holding. Huh. And I guess I add the die to the damage roll. But it's not just that it happens. You have to make a strength saving throw. Oh, I don't know what it needs to be, but you have to make a strength saving throw. I mean, OK, what a monster that's nine squares big. It can't be that strong. Right. Big pussy, really.

Just OK. So what? Yeah. OK, let's roll and see what he gets. Strength saving throw. Yeah. How about 25? Whatever it is that does win, that's probably going to do it. But I still get to add a superiority die to my damage. Then let's do it. And I got to go back a couple of pages. I think my superiority die is a D8. Yes. So I'm going to do damage and then plus a D8. OK, so, yeah, OK. So just for future reference, if you roll that die first, you could just add that as a modifier to the damage and it automatically does it. What? Oh, like, oh, I see, I see, I see. Interesting.

OK, I know that for next time. Eleven damage to the Cyclops. And I get two attacks, so I'm going to attack him again. Why not? Seventeen will hit again. Perfect. And so this is just regular damage. Well, that's five. That's not bad. I still have another five. Yeah. Anything else? Nope, that's going to be it. Braelyn, you're invisible. I am. So I only turn out of invisibility when I attack, right? Or when I cast spells too. Yeah. OK, but how about if I use my stolen Elena ability that I have access to now that I have my memories back? My martial adept. Let's see the wording here.

Invisibility. Anything the target is wearing, blah, blah, blah, blah. The spell ends for a target that attacks or casts a spell. OK, so if I attack or cast a spell. Yes. If I use Rally, which is not a spell, it's an ability. That's why I'm confused. Well, let's read Rally. Where it at? I wrote it down on the card, but I paraphrased it, so I think it'd be better if we read it off the book. Yeah. Rally, on your turn. You can use a bonus action and expend one superiority die to bolster the resolve. So it's more like shouting encouraging things, not, it's not a spell.

OK, OK, cool, cool. Then I will Rally Elena and give her my superiority die, which is 1d6 because I'm not a fighter. Oh. Well, that's a 1. So you get 4 bonus HP, 4 temp HP. Elena's getting 4 temp HP. Oh, thank you. So he's just like shots from the back like you hear a voice, but you don't see him anywhere. Yeah, Elena, good job. Fuck him up. And then he's going to move past Kaladin, maybe right here. OK. And come out of invisibility. All right. And we're going to cast some nitty gritty spell here. OK. I can't have to be still. How about. Oh, fuck. How far is he? Five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30.

Perfect. I'm going to cast Bane on him. So he's going to hit that power cord. I forget what song they use for Bane, but I say it's like some sort of death metal. And he has to say it against my. I can make him save. I hit the button right here. Do it. He saved. He saved. He succeeded. That's not good. So he's having none of your bullshit. I just cast it and I get down under and then he just like nothing. It's like he ignores it completely. And I come out of this building and I. How fucking metal is it that we're fighting a cyclops on the top of a mountain? Like why a metal album cover.

That's pretty bad ass. Fucking cool. This thing literally tried to crush one of you and you're holding up a shield and defiance. It's like, nope. Just honestly, I'm going to say if this if this tank wall you guys got going here can hold out. I think you got a pretty good chance. Callie. Hi. OK. So Callie is going to just move forward like one little one little square just so I get a good straight line on this guy. And she is going to cast a little spell. It's called tidal wave. And so what it does is it conjures up a wave of water that crashes down on an area.

It can be up to 30 feet long, 10 feet wide and 10 feet tall. So I'm going to concentrate it on just the area of the cyclops. OK. And it has to make a dexterity saving throw. Huh. OK. I think I can make this work. OK. So deck save of what? What am I shooting for? Fifteen. Fifteen. Let's do it, guys. He's got a zero modifier. What do you think the odds are? Pretty high. Fourteen. He's going to fail. All right. This is going to take 48 bludgeoning damage and he's going to be knocked prone. Oh, so let me know. Let me get this damage for you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do that. I'm going to pull something out of my ass as to why you have access to tidal wave on top of a mountain.

So I picture there's a drop of water. So I think that's bullshit. That's insane. That's so the single tear that someone cried somewhere. That's bullshit. So the only thing I could think of is like maybe there's an underground spring or like a river flowing through this mountain. And it's just it's going to burst through. That's very good. I like that's the best I can come up with. So wow. That's twenty two damage to this Cyclops and prone. He's prone. Oh, I have a little eye level. Little zombie guy. Can I hit it? Oh, do it. Prone him up. Prone. OK, he's going to fall down.

So, yeah, this is going to just just like just pelt him. Just like come out of nowhere. He doesn't understand. Is that all? Yeah, that's it. Very nice. Tatiana, what you got? OK. Hi. Hi. OK. I have to make sure that I'm unmuted first. So Tatiana is going to sort of shake off her frozen state and grab her short bow and fire at this Cyclops daddy. Can I say anybody who launches a ranged attack against this thing and lands a crit, you're going to hit it in the eye. What? You're telling you right now. That's how we're playing that shit. Challenge accepted. Well, well, well, sorry.

I don't know what happened. No, it's because he's prone range attacks against prone is disadvantage. Oh, OK. Although he's still like five feet tall. But whatever. Yeah. 16 will hit anyway. So you're gonna hit his belly or something. Big guy. And can I do my sneak attack since he was just affected by the wave? Well, you also have you also have friends next to him. So, yeah. Perfect. Jesus. OK. Another five damage. OK. So in total, that's 16. That's pretty damn good. Oh, man. Is that all? Yes, it is. OK. What what wacky stuff does Kaladin have? Well, let me ask you this.

When you say ranged attack. How how does that mean? Do you mean? I mean, more traditional bows and arrows type of thing. But if you. Yeah. Gotcha. Gotcha. Gotcha. OK. I'm just gonna. Kalden is going to see the spring that Callie literally like called forth from the mountain. And he's going to see this water as a source and just use his magic to start freezing this into like big hail balls, basically, that are going to try and help this creature as it falls on the ground. So let me have him make a deck save. I think I can just click this. Yeah, do it, because I think he gets disadvantage when he's prone.

Wow. One day. Damn. So Daxi, his strong suit. We found that out today. Well, it doesn't help. He's been slammed on the ground. Yeah. You're not going to bully the weapon out of his hand, but man, he ain't dancing. Yeah. So these things begin to pelt him and they probably hit him all over in his muscles and in his eye, not taking the eye out, but they give him a good they give him a good shiner. So we'll give him three cold or three six, three D six cold damage, nine damage to the Cyclops. And that is good for Kalden. OK, Larg, your opponent is on the ground in front of you.

This could not have gone better for you. Yes, I feel like after he deflected the first two hits from the Cyclops and then Elena ran up and everybody behind him popped off with everything they had. He's just kind of looked down at it and then slow take take his hammer and a slow arc over his head and just bring it down as hard as he can. So we're going to do a weapon attack. You got advantage. Don't forget. Oh, well. All right. Let me roll it again, just in case it's a crit. It's not. But it's not. But hey, twenty three will hit. And we're going to we're going to blow a second level spell slot and that's going to give me, I believe, three D eight additional.

So roll. Yeah, roll that. Add that as a modifier. OK, this was a thundering smite. That's yeah, that's divine smite. Divine smite. Sorry. Two D eight for first level spell slot one D eight for a spell level higher. So that's three eight to blow a second move spell slot. Oof. OK, that's that's the normal awful damage. And then we're going to throw this as well. Here we go. Jesus. So that's twenty four damage. All right. Oh, wait. I get two attacks, don't I? Because that's because I'm a level five five paladin. So I'm going to hit him again. I'm going to hit him again.

Jason, do it. Don't forget you got the advantage. That's right. I keep forgetting. That's OK. Twenty five will hit closer and closer. And I'm going to blow another second level spell spot because I'm going to roll the same awful damage. So let's do that. Sixteen damage. Oh, this is this like lightning comes shooting over the sky on this metal album. This is like a small explosion. Oh, it's so fucking cool. OK, are you done? I'm done. That's my turn. Yes. As a result of being bloodied. It's been a while. This guy's going to stand up. This this this this this this Cyclops is going to stand up.

And from here on out, his multi attack is now three instead of two. And he is furious. You guys are using magical tricks and and not fighting fair in his eyes. He is going to target Lark and he is going to swing his great club down and miss. And again, just rapid fire over and over again. Seventeen and miss. And one more. Nineteen will hit. I want to use cutting words. So I get to roll a D8 and use my last bardic inspiration to subtract from his attack roll. Oh, God. Eighteen. I don't think it helped. No, that was exactly the one thing you could have rolled that wouldn't help.

No, no, no. It's like you smell. And twenty damage to Lark. It is it is true. He does smell, but it has no effect on him. No, he does not care. That's by design. Oh, Lena. OK, I'm going to hit him good with advantage. Yes. Yep. OK. Everyone's basically got it. Hi-yah. Oh, that's going to miss. That's not great. Well, shit. Wait, I have two attacks. I'm just going to try again. That'll hit. Oh, it does. Yep. Oh, and that wasn't even with advantage. That's OK, though. Max damage. That's another twelve to the Cyclops. OK, that'll be it for me. All right, Brailin. He sees Lark just get like dodge the first one and then the second one kind of bounce off a shield.

And then as he saw the third one going to connect, he tried to like, you know, shout. It didn't work. And he sees Lark just get peppered by this giant hit. And he's going to run right here. And he's going to cure wounds, Lark. So all Lark feels is this tiny pair of hands on his back, lower back, very close to his ass, like super close. Just working out those knots. Yeah. Five. And that was an action. And I moved how many spares did I move? One, two, three, four. I have to stay close. Hell, I don't want to stay close. I have one square left, so I'm going to move back.

So he just grabs Lark like close, like right above his ass, like super close, like, OK, you get mine. Callie. All right. So we're going to continue with this metal cover we have going on right now. And Callie is going to conjure some lightning. It's going to hit this face behind him. So that does not hit Alina or Lark. And he has to make another dexterity saving throw. Oh, no, he's bad at those. 15 and higher. OK. 17. OK, well, he still takes half damage. OK. Let me untarget him so that you don't have to take it away. Sweet. OK, so her will let me. So that's cool.

OK, sweet. Whoa. Oh, my bad. There we go. Gotcha. I gotcha. I'm getting you. I think I was just pressing the wrong button, honestly. That's fine. So half of this. Half of 15. OK, sweet, sweet. That's a seven. That's just nothing to scoff at. OK. All right. Anything else? No, that's it. Tatiana. Hello. OK. We're both way too close. They can kill him. Well, actually, as soon as Tatiana sees Braille and sort of run in front and then back, she is going to quickly look back to the people behind her to one, make sure they're still there and two, to sort of yell, stay away from the edge.

Good. And if that if you want that to take a whatever, an action, you're fine. OK. Let's say that's a minor go. Well, then she's going to shoot him again right in the face and eyeballs. Don't forget, you have advantage. Oh, I don't forget. Twenty one, but no crit. Still hits, though. Yeah. And I'll do my extra. Eighteen damage to the Cyclops. He's looking like it's hurt. Anything else? That is all. Kalden. This is a beefy boy. He's a he's a big boy. OK. Valerie Jamison, how do you feel about taking and maybe taking a little bit of ice damage? I never thought you'd ask.

You guys are doing so good up there. I'm going to hurt you. Well, it'll be a deck save, but I imagine all the beef in the front is not. Yeah, I don't think anything extra. Yeah. Anything up there is not great. But go for it. Well, in the spirit of this metal album, I think I got to do this. And even though and I'm so sorry, I'm sorry it may hit you. But we've been climbing all day. So Kalden's a little tired. The control of the spell might be a little difficult for him, but he conjures from the sky like a portal coming out and ice and snow sort of like coalesce and they create a dragon head.

And that head comes down from the sky like this ethereal, glistening ice dragon comes down to bite onto this cyclops. And he's going to do a little deck save. Wait, I thought everyone had to make one. He does. He does first. And then. Well, he failed because he rolled a four because he's a cyclops. So he's going to take this this these like jagged icicles, like dig into his flesh as this magical dragon bites down and he takes to detail cold. Oh, and then it explodes. All that ice clashing together explodes and it explodes out in a radius that may hit Larg and Elena.

So radius, it's five. It's anyone within five feet. Oh, yeah. So, OK, Larg, what's the what's the target here? The target's the cyclops. No, no, no, no, no. See the DC. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. The DC is 16. Oh, OK. Well, Larg cleared it now. Now Elena's just got to clear it. What am I? A deck save? Deck save. Yeah. Oh, that's not like that. That's a six. It's OK. Four temporary hit points. So, yeah. Oh, yeah. So hold on. He's going to take an additional two D six cold, which is eight. But Elena, some of those ice shards come and like fly past your face and are like cutting your neck and stuff as this dragon explodes in front of you.

And you also take a cold image. So for. Easy peasy for let's get rid of those 10 points. Boom. OK. And called and calls out, sorry. It's OK. I cut your arm off. So like, we're good. We are now even. Yes. He waves. Larg, take us home, buddy. All right. I'm going to hit it. Do it with a hammer. I've seen you do it. That'll hit. All right. And I've had a second level spell slots, but I'm just going to swing this regular damage. That's going to be. Oh, my God. That's 12 damage. And I'm on a hit again. Stop. You're targeting you. Wait, I'm targeting me. You're targeting. Yeah. Yeah.

You're going to fall down. I don't know how you're targeting you. I don't know. But you have advantage. I have advantage. All right. Let's let's. OK, let's first take those 12 hit points back. Yeah, it's not. Somebody stop me from beating myself. Oh, my God. So, yeah, you got 15, buddy. 15 damage. Boom. I hit it for 12. Yeah, that the first time. Here goes the second time. Well, that'll hit. And you know what? I'm going to go and burn this first level spell slot on this one. Will this be enough? Let's do this. And then let's do this. That's 22. Oh, my God. That's so close.

This thing is going to swing three fucking times. Oh, all you got to do is weather the storm and you're good. Yes. Solid. You go home. Are you ready? I am so ready. Cyclops is so sick of your shit. Betty is. Oh, here we go. Blue unitard and his yellow belt buckles. OK, if you're talking about the X-Men, Cyclops is a very necessary part of the group. You know, he absolutely has to stop with somebody. Not everybody can be Wolverine, Jamison. He's a dumb costume is my point. Well, OK, I looked at half of the X-Men. Look at Psylocke. Look at fucking more. More fucking.

Look at the 90s. Let's just look at the 90s. Touches were in. I love you, Billy. No, you can do no wrong. Here we go. Look at this time. Who? That'll miss. Who? That'll hit. That'll hit. How are these all on large two or are they the first two are definitely we'll see if the third one is ready. Damage. 24 damage to Larg. That's right. I got it. One last swing. That'll hit. 26 damage will knock Larg out. Alaina. But let's talk about that. There is no shame in that. This is a way from a half work. I get back up. I forget about that. We have like one hit point or something.

One hit point. Yeah. Oh, it's called stubborn as fuck. It's called fuck you. So I picture. OK, he's just coming down and down with this thing. He's hit like he's tried to hit you like seven, eight times. And you're just like shielding it. And by the last one, you're just down on the ground and still like, like just trying to get back up. It's infuriating him. So he's going to like spit a tooth out and go, when are you going to hit me? Alaina. Brandon looks at the tooth. No, you need that. I cast Mending. So the tooth is fine, but still outside his head. Alaina.

OK, I'm going to hit him and try and finish this with that advantage because he's not. He's not knocked out. So, yes. OK. Twenty four will hit. OK. Oh, OK. I'm going to use precision attack. Oh, wait. No, no, no. That's not what I meant. OK. I'm just kidding. I'm not going to do it. OK. I'm just kidding. Alaina is going to strike out and slash this cyclops behind the leg. It is going to stumble backwards and tumble off the side of this mountain, desperately clawing and scratching. And it is going to tumble and roll. And you're going to watch it hit dozens of feet down and snap its own neck and continue to tumble limply down the rest of the mountain.

That will take you out of combat. And I think that is a good time for us to stop. Wait, wait. Can Tatiana just say my arrows? Guys, congratulations. That could have gone way worse. Wow. I feel like Lark leans up against a rock and goes, you better run. This is such a perfect example of what I think we're always saying, where it's like good dice knight versus bad dice knight. Yeah, this is the complete opposite of what happened yesterday, by the way. Really? Yeah. Oh, ask Eren. It was bad. I heard it started out good. Oh, yeah. Yeah. The fight opened up with, you know, some good luck.

That's some good luck on our side. Like I said, I blame Ryan. Yeah. DNR is bad luck charm. We could have had goats. We definitely. Oh, my God. I'm not gonna start. I'm not gonna start right now. Good Lord, guys. Do you realize that we are just two and a half weeks away from Theriathon? Theriathon takes place April 20th. That's a Saturday. So we hope to see you guys there.
