From the director of Mr. and Mrs.
Smith and The Bourne Identity comes a new film. This your first job? I know what I'm doing. I'm late for a crit change. Starring Matt Damon. Everybody in New England is after us. And Casey Affleck. Go, go, go, go, go! What are you doing? Taking notes. Taking notes on a criminal conspiracy. The Instigators. Rated R. Streaming August 9th on Apple TV+. Arc 2, episode 67 of the D&R Podcast is brought to you by the Kickstarter. Yeah. I'm Jason. I'm Brianna. And please don't skip this, 'cause this is very, very important. One, everything that we recorded on April 20th for Theriathon is going to be going up in our feed, just like it does every year.
Yep. Starting today with a lovely Group B that we're gonna get feedback on. So, how would you describe how Theriathon went? It was phenomenal. That was probably the best Theriathon we've ever done. Yep. Not even probably. By far the best Theriathon we've ever done. This week you guys are getting the Group B. Next week you're getting the Group C. Yep. And then you're gonna be getting the secret special group. Yep. After Group A, I believe, is how we figured it out. Yep. So, yeah, I think it went fantastic. I was there the whole time talking in the chat with people.
Everyone was super cool. Yeah, dude. Everyone who shared that, everyone who showed up in the chat, thank you so much. We had the most viewership out of any Theriathon. It was just a phenomenal experience and a great day to share with everybody. Yeah. All I've said. Yes. The Kickstarter launched on that day and we made over $50,000. Yep. In the first 24 hours, which is... Yeah. But as of recording, we are still about $5,000 away from our goal. Yes. So we would really appreciate it if you guys would go to our website, dnrpodcast.com. Sure. And you can get to the Kickstarter from there, or you can go on the Kickstarter and just Google Adventures of Alara.
Yeah. Just there will be a link in the description, all that good stuff. And seriously, first of all, the big thing is that if you go there, before you even give us a shekel, you can look at 60 pages of The Adventures of Alara, Volume 1. Yeah, these are... The Adventures of Theria, Volume 1 Alara. Did I say that wrong twice? Yes, you did. I was trying to pave over it because it's like... I'm garbage. No, you're fine. Anyway, The Adventures of Theria, Volume 1 Alara. The Adventures Guide to Theria. It's only the name of our book. It's fine. Oh my God. It's okay.
So these are 63 finished, polished pages free of charge. Take them, do what you will. There are charts, there are rules, there are characters, there are places... Do you like how werewolves work in our world? Yes. Do you want the Rod of Wonder? Because that's how you get the Rod of Wonder. That's how you get the Rod of Wonder. Yeah. Go nuts with it. Trust me, there's plenty more content where that came from. We're trying to get this funded and go to stretch goals. If you donate $1 to the campaign, you get your name in the book. You do. We want to thank every single person who chooses to support us.
And the easiest way to do that is to kind of immortalize your name in the book. And we really appreciate anybody just sharing the campaign and showing it some support. So thank you so much. Seriously, thank you. Please go check out the Kickstarter. At the very least, just go check out that PDF so you can see some amazing artwork that we had done for it. Some really interesting rule sets. Again, if you like how werewolves work, all of the rules for that is in the setting book preview. You don't even have to buy the book. You can get all the rules for werewolves right now for free by going to our Kickstarter.
And if you like what you see, maybe that will convince you to back the Kickstarter and help us out. Because we really want this to be successful. We have a lot of stretch goals that people are really excited about. But first we have to fund. Yeah, that's the thing. Obviously the first day of a Kickstarter is the big one. And then throughout the Kickstarter it kind of charts down and then it ticks up at the end. A lot of cool stuff has happened. World Anvil has been incredibly supportive. We were reblogged by Fantasy Grounds. Dungeon Solvers, Dungeon Dudes, all these people came out of the stumped gaming.
All these people were super cool and reblogged. Kickstarter even chose it as one of the projects. They love super crazy awesome stuff. But I'll feel a lot better, and I know you will too, when we hit that funding goal. And then just coast through the stretch goals. Whatever stretch goals you guys want to get to, it would be amazing. We're excited about all of them. So we'll stop rambling now. Yes, thank you so much for listening to all this. For not hitting that 30 second skipper. We know you can. We know that's a possibility. We thank you for listening. Thank you guys so much, and we'll see you at the end of the episode to remind you about the Kickstarter again real quick.
Yeah. Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason. I'm the Dungeon Master. Going around the table starting with Jamie. Hi there, I'm Jamie. I play Tatiana the Human Rogue. And Karen. Hi, I'm Karen and I play Callie the Elven Druid. And Valerie. Hello, I'm Valerie and I play Elena the Human Fighter. And Ian. I'm Ian. I play Cauldron Halec the Half-Elf Sorcerer. #WeAreTheria #TheriaThon #420 #BlazeIt #Wigglyfe. Oh my God, he did it. Alex. Hey, I'm Alex and I play Braelyn the Halfling Bard. And of course, Jameson. Hey, I'm Jameson and I play Larg the Half-Orc Ragedon, I guess.
Oh man. Someone in the chat called you Largarian, which I thought was very good. Oh, that's his full name actually. We never got into it. Oh man, so if you're listening to this and it's after April 20th, you missed Theria-Thon. But that's okay, because we're recording every bit of it. We are well into our Kickstarter. That is doing amazing. Thank you everybody who's pledged out there. It warms my frozen over heart. So last time on Group B, you guys, let's bring up, well, I'm going to bring up the map for everybody who's watching at home. You guys can, you have your own maps.
But you guys are making your way to Esterhold. Now, remind everybody why you're going to Esterhold. That's a good question. Great question. There's so many reasons. Such a good question. I think Ian's got that one, guys, right? Ian? Okay. Take it away. Alright, well, the first thing that we're doing is we're trying to go to the Temple of Kord to see if we can rally some paladins to run roughshod over the fang in Dawnhurst. And then onto the Black Hand, or one of those. Boy, I hope you work on your pitch before you get to the temple. And then we've got like a bunch of stuff to research.
Look into this bell, look into this. If there's a cult of Vecna at all that we can talk to about this bell, we got to like find out about doing this arm. If we can get this arm going. And Callie's curse. See if we can research that. There's a lot we got to do. For those of you who have no fucking clue what you're talking about in terms of get this arm going. Right. So, Callen is missing an arm. And it was explained to you a while back that there is a limited amount of time you could essentially perform a little ritual that might grow you a new arm. There are certain drawbacks to it and stuff, maybe, but it's been a while since then.
Would Callen still be confident that that could be done? I mean, that was like a week ago, right? In game time? No. Firstly, I think that was before last year's Theorist thought. Yeah, it was. Oh my gosh. You guys were in the Divide for like six sessions. It was insane. I'm not sure. And to be honest, I think he's getting a little bit comfortable with not having it. I mean, falling down through the earth and trying to climb up this mountain sort of reminded him that he's got a bit of a disability going on. But I think he's sort of because if you'll remember way, way back, the herbalist who was going to do this ritual was blind.
Yes. She was like, hey, you can regrow it. You can get a prosthetic or you can just kind of live with it. Right. Just like she had kind of done. So I think he's just kind of like getting on, getting used to it. OK, so it's not the end of the world for you. I don't think so. No. Interesting. OK. Throwing everything away. All that we went in there for all that. Seventy five percent of the ingredients and I'm throwing them away. If I'm being honest, the real reason I'm doing this to appease Karen, not Callie. Trust me, there is no appeasing Karen. I'm joking. I love you, Karen.
I'm just here out of spite now. That's all I can ask of any of you. Oh, man. OK. You know the worst thing? If something happens with the regrowing, he could just have Alaina cut it off again and then just. It turns into like it becomes cancerous and just won't stop growing. And bigger and bigger. Is Kal'Dan a starfish? OK, so you guys are still a few days outside of Esterholt. You are trucking down through the mountains now. You essentially reached the peaks in between the Black Rock and yeah. So you got past, I would say the nastiest stuff that the peaks have to offer in that cyclops.
Hey, sorry to sorry to break in. Didn't Cyclops have like a little nest or anything like a little. I mean, he had to live somewhere. Yeah. I mean, do you want to go into the Cyclops cave? Well, what if you got Cyclops babies? They're just going to be as big as Lark. You know, that's pretty dangerous still. Maybe at a Cyclops wife. Maybe we will have a baby Cyclops army. Oh, yeah. See, OK, sidebar. This is how all the problems start. You guys, you guys take the weirdest extreme. It's just you've decided that's fact. All I was asking is if there's any lootable items.
Yeah. And all of us all I feel like all of us are just like, yeah, this sounds solid. Like I write even right now is I'm trying to convince myself not to do it. I'm like, no, but I feel like we kind of should. I don't remember. Did I kick the Cyclops Cyclops off the mountain? That's the yes. The Cyclops did tumble off the mountain. So I don't have his big club. No, I lost like all of my arrows. Yeah. Oh, that's right. OK. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You guys shot it a lot. I dropped a lot of water on it. That being said, like maybe he had a backup club in his cave. Backup club?
Well, let's take a little look. Let's take a little peek. I want to take his club and hammer nails into it. And that's my new weapon. Oh my God. There's something dark today, guys. Yeah. Jesus Christ, Aveline's a murderer? Starting with Aveline, we got to pick up the trend for sure. There's something also gravely unsettling about cute little Valerie's voice. Talking about how she's going to take a Cyclops club and put nails in it. It's going to be really fun. Well, OK. We have to do it. Let me ask you guys a question, because before we go anywhere, a couple of you are pretty banged up.
I mean, one guy isn't a couple of us, but yeah, you're right. OK, yes, one of you is pretty banged up. And I imagine after that adrenaline stops pumping, it's going to set in. It's like, oh, Jesus, I need to sit down. So it is the seventh affair of yore, and I would say that it's not late at night or anything, but it's getting to the end of the day. You're winding down. Now, you have a couple of options. You can push on and maybe find a good spot to camp for the night. You could try to camp here, which is a little more dangerous because you're out in the open and there's a mountaintop and all that stuff.
Or you could just keep pushing on. What time is it? I'd say it's after dusk. Jason, can I roll a history check to see or nature check to see if I know about, like, Cyclops dwellings? Sure. Which one would work best for you? Give me... Give me... I'll give you an option. You can either do nature or survival because you could try to trap the Cyclops. Like if you... it's like, OK, I'm going to follow these Cyclops prints. So I'm going to be fake Callie and I'm going to do survival. Yeah. Diet Callie. Not as good as you were doing. Do you want help? That's the thing.
You could work together on it. Yeah. I would say like, Braelyn starts to like... Thinking as everyone's kind of catching their breath and he starts like digging, kind of moving dirt and then like dust from the trail, looking for the prints. And I'm pretty sure Callie would see him do it. Like he's just... you know, it's obvious what he's doing. He tried this before and you helped him, I think, a long time ago. Yeah. OK. So yeah, he'd let you help him. And I will roll my first one. Oh, that's why he needs help. That was a four. So wait. OK, you were getting help though, right?
Yeah. So I don't remember if it's advantage or if it's more. It's advantage. So do it one more time. OK. Oh my god. It was almost a 20. I think what happens is like Callie will see you and she'll be like, oh, do it like this. And then but like she won't like keep going with you, she'll like just send you off to keep doing it. I see. I see. And then while she does and when that happens, she's going to heal. Log's going to heal too. OK, well, there's that. And I'm actually going to do it a second level so you can extra D8. So there you go. That wasn't very much. So sorry.
That's OK. It's a thought that counts. I'm also going to just lay on hands for a 25. Just give it to me. So yeah, it'd be kind of just off on the side. He'd probably be kneeling over the edge, honestly, looking down at where the Cyclops fell. How far down did it go? Pretty damn far. Pretty damn far. Good. He's glad. OK. Yeah, we're talking hundreds of feet. So like, yeah. Gee golly. OK, so four is not good. I don't need to tell you that. Yeah, no, I know. I'm just waiting for what happens. I'm waiting for the negative here. Well, OK, a few factors. Trying to try... I would imagine that Braelyn's just like, oh, man, the Cyclops was wily.
He didn't want us to find his den, like that type of thing. Yeah. That being said, it is a mountain and there are... They're not an abundance of options. You're basically looking for a cave. You just got to pick the right cave. You don't want to wander into the wrong cave because... Oh, boy, there's some nasty stuff up here. So I guess what I'd like to do is I'd like to take a couple of things into account. One, I want one of you to give me a flat d20 roll. Should I? OK, good. OK. It's not bad. It's not great, but it's not bad. It's in the realm of average. Yeah.
OK. And what I need to know is how long would you push on? Like, how far would you go with this where you're like, oh, man, it's just around the corner. I know it. Or would it kind of be the first cave that you find? Are you checking out all your options? So Braelyn is not confident in his nature skills, and I'm pretty sure everyone now knows that. So probably the first cave he finds, like after maybe like 20, 30 minutes after looking around, he gets like to a cave or something. He'd probably be like, ah, you know, turn around to the group and kind of shrug.
Maybe I don't know. I'm not you know, I followed Kelly's instructions. I don't I don't think I'm good at this, but here's a cave. I mean, you know, I got some results. Can I review his work? Can I spell check? Yeah. Yeah, I think he would. He wouldn't mind. Like, you know, usually they say like it's wrong. It's like, oh, you don't trust your teammate. But in this instance, he'd be like, please, please check my work. Right. Yeah, no, I don't think anybody's going to be there's no hurt feelings here. Go ahead. Oh, my God. Woof. OK, you know what? Here's what we're going to do.
It's going to be great. So you are going to trek. You're going to keep trekking forward, right? So you're going to there's going to be a couple of smaller caves, narrow passageways, more that they look like they open up and you're like, ah, that's not that's not where our guy came from. So you're going to keep pushing on and there's going to be a pretty damn large cave and it looks out over this huge drop off. We're talking thousands of feet up. You guys are up. So it's essentially there's a single file line that you could walk. And then when you approach this cave, you're going to see things like rib cages and definitely, definitely some predator lives there.
And it would be I think Callie would be like, oh, this is where our guy lives or lived, I guess. Because something has definitely been eating here and it looks like it looks like yaks, something like that, something very large. So this is not the same cave that Braley was at, though, right? No, that was not the right one. OK. I have a question. Like, I could like be completely making this up, but I know that there's some mountain, I think where some color of dragon lives. Sure. I mean, dragons live in a bunch of different mountains. Well, like red, because I know we've we like Group four fought like baby dragons or something around this area, kind of.
Sure. Is it possible that this cave could be a dragon cave? I don't know. Do you want to roll to see? Sure. I mean, that's been going really well. Give me a nature check. OK, nature. Mm hmm. I mean, I'm not surprised. We had a really great dice last game. Well, I don't think Elena would know. I think it would be like, I mean, it's a possibility. Could be. I mean, it's bad enough that there could be Cyclops is living here, not just former Cyclops. Low key, this is what Jason meant when he said we weren't going to make it to seventh level. I was joking. I think Callie would be like, I'm pretty sure this is the right cave, but who knows how deep this one goes and if the Cyclops is the only thing living in there.
Astute observation. It's probably like pretty dark now, right? Well, yeah, yeah, it's definitely after dusk. So it's night has fallen. And yeah, you'd have to I mean, some of you had dark vision. Callie has the option to give dark vision. Other than that, you just spark up some torches and walk in. Sounds so easy. I mean, it's slow super. Set it or forget it. Would Elena, did you say anything about dragons or anything or you just kind of like looking around? Oh, no, because I have no clue. So I'm not going to say anything. OK. Colin would say, well, like, well, at the very least, it is getting dark.
Maybe we can look for something in the morning. This could be a place we could put a fire out and at least get some rest before the next day. I don't know if we want to go climbing down the mountain in the dark. It can be treacherous. Well, we'll look at the cave. Well, if this hole's got any more of those one eyed guys, then this can be pretty treacherous, too. And kind of just kicks like a little rock halfheartedly. Well, there's other caves and there's other places I guess we could go out under the stars as well. Maybe there's like a small alcove or something that isn't doesn't reach into the mountain as deep that we can get some shelter from the weather.
I think the key word here, though, is maybe like it's it's already dark. We're all tired. I mean, this is what we have right now. And I mean, we've technically fought one already and we're all kind of OK. Should she looks over at Larg? Everyone looks at Larg like, how are you doing, buddy? He's feeling the space where one of his teeth used to be. Yeah, if you drop something, is there as they're kind of talking about it, going back and forth, he starts to unpack his bedroll. Get ready to just in the background. I like that Larg's decided that's like, no, we're done.
Yeah, large picks or we do the vote on the table. The guy who gets beat up the most gets to decide. Oh, baby. OK, so it sounds like you guys are are camping in this cave. Could I take a look around and do a history check to see if this has any dragon stuff? Because Cauldron comes from the mountains. Those dragons live way, way up, though. Well, OK, if they like come down this far. Well, you guys are up the mountain. Yeah. Like you're not low. Oh, yeah. No, I know. But and the ivory peaks are the way better mountains. OK, they're way taller, the way better. Oh, wow.
Yeah. I mean, I feel like you have a bias. Yeah, I mean, if you want to read about the Iron Peaks, I guess the ivory peaks, you could go to our Kickstarter and you could download and see just how cool they are. Yeah, I mean, they're in there. They're right there. You could download it for free. 63 pages. There's werewolves. But yeah. Oh, sorry. Did we get some healing? Yes, we did earlier. OK. Oh, and it says you're unconscious. You're not unconscious. That would make no sense. Yeah, he's dead and doesn't know it. That's the thing. He's too stubborn to be dead. Too soon.
It's not funny. He died once already. Yeah, you know what? You're right. I'm sorry. OK. It's true. So you basically are asking, oh, what I know of any historical references to dragons in the area? Or history of like mountain life, mountain. I mean, I guess you could say that's nature or survival to. Yeah. Yeah, I could do history, though. Yeah. Like actual. OK, hit me. If that works for you. Absolutely works for me. OK. Finally. Got our first good roll of the evening. All right, guys. Everything that wasn't for hit points has been shit. So. Absolutely. One, there's a big black dragon in the area, not nesting in these mountains or anything, but has done a couple of flybys here and there.
On top of that, you get a lot of drakes in this area, but there absolutely have been dragon sightings, too. You usually see much larger red dragons up north near the Hazen Mountains and Dragons Reach, stuff like that. But yeah, you definitely see some smaller red dragons and occasionally you'll see large packs of drakes nesting and stuff like that. Gotcha. OK. Well, he'll inform the party. Just let them know about that kind of thing. Hmm. Brandon sleeps in a sleeping bag with the covers over his head. I think I think Callie wants to go a few feet into this cave just to see if there's anything like beyond our eyesight.
Oh, absolutely. Please give me a perception check. I'll tell you what's in there. Cool. It's a dragon. It's just it and it's looking you right in the face as soon as you walk in. As soon as it passes the light line, it's like right there. It says "Hi" and... So this is a big ass cave, by the way, and it stretches pretty far back. The ribcages and stuff, the bones, that does not stop at the entrance. Wow, there's lots of stuff piled in here and you're going to see weapons and armor. You're going to see it. It looks like maybe quite a few adventurers have died in and around this area.
Cool. That's great. But like just dead bodies, right? Yeah, they're not moving. But I mean, like it's a lot of here's the thing. It's a lot of bones. Like it's a lot like crunched up, pulverized. But again, if it were the Cyclops, he didn't exactly play gentle. So actually, give me a nature check. Yeah, I was going to ask you, does it look like something that could have come from a Cyclops? Oh, my God. Look at that. So there's that natural 20 earlier. Very Messiah of you. So here's the thing. Cyclopses love to essentially nibble on bones until they get it down to a place where they could just break it.
And then like they'll slurp it marrow and stuff like that. They're not elegant creatures. Now, it doesn't you could go either way on this. It does look like it does look like a lot of these bones are kind of broken, a little pulverized. But it doesn't it doesn't necessarily look like a lot of care and attention was made to make the most of these meal wise. Like it doesn't look like someone was sitting there. It's like, oh, like very wasteful if they're eating. Would there be something else that might come to mind other than a Cyclops? Oh, geez, with that 23?
Yeah, I could give you a list of stuff. Oh, a whole list. Well, OK. They're all like completely nice creatures. Yeah. So she like love outsiders, I'm sure of it. Well, OK. If you want to go small, best case scenario, goblins. Goblins are nasty little fuckers that travel in huge packs. They skitter up walls. They tend to throw things and use crude slings, arrows, stuff like that to pulverize a creature into submission. And then they'll swarm it and just start biting them until they die. They're the closest thing to a pack of insects that warm blooded creatures can be.
You have lots of little lots of cave stuff, nothing that would really pulverize bones like this. You got drakes. You can go all the way up to dragons, though. The dragon would have to be it would have to be a certain size to fit in this cave, obviously. Yeah. OK. OK, cool. I think she would go back to the group and, you know, tell them about the armor and stuff that she saw inside, but also that we should probably be very alert tonight because maybe goblins. Tarsana is going to like jump out of her bedroll and just say, I just want to sleep. I don't I don't know for sure, but maybe I mean, this could definitely have been where the Cyclops lived.
But I'm wondering the cave goes very deep. So I'm wondering if maybe there are some goblins further on in and they were picking off some of the the food that was left over. Can we barricade like ourselves into the cave or out of the cave? Yeah, she's talking about like, I think, like aliens to where they barricade a certain way. I can't help but think of that. That's what I in my head, right. It's like desks, chairs. How did that end? Uh, they were a Ripley got off the planet. So that's one. And basically survived to write a newt and then Hicks. So five, four, whatever.
I just remember game over, man. Like I just I just if you, sir, compare me to Hudson area, I was actually comparing you to aliens, colonial Marines. I'm joking. You're much better than you're you're you're alien isolation, baby. All the way. Yeah. OK. While you could I don't know what you'd use to really barricade the mouth of this cape that would also put you outside. And again, it's basically a single file strip of land. It's a pretty unsafe area to sleep if that's what you were going to do. Well, like not like barricade us like completely out of it, you know, like just like we're making the cave a little smaller.
I guess like you could pile up rocks and things or bodies or, you know, my God. Oh, my God. Look, I'm trying to tell you what to work with here. But can I can I know you're not allowed to, Karen? Absolutely not. What are you going to do? Can I like use one of my spells to like collapse the section of the cave? Yes. Like further in. Like a controlled explosion. Yeah. Controlled. OK. So top of the mountain. OK. I want you to gingerly explain to me what you're attempting to do. Like, OK, so like if I go further down into the cave, like past all the dead bodies and all the whatever.
OK. To like a spot that was a little like the opening was like a little smaller. OK. And I just collapsed that section. OK. Like erupting earth to because I think what erupting earth does it like puts just out like spikes and stuff. Yes. So if I did that to jut out spikes and block off the entrance. I mean, you OK, here's the thing. You absolutely can try. You absolutely can try. And I'm thinking theoretically, yeah, that would work. I mean, OK, I would have you roll for it. And the worst case scenario is a caedan. But I don't think that's something that wouldn't occur to Callie.
Right. That it would have to be a pretty nasty shake up to call or a week, like a like a week entrance, something like that. Like. But I think you'd know that's a there's a small chance of that, not a large one. That's what you say. But like I definitely like want to go as far in as I feel like would be safe. I think the further in I go, the less likely like the area that the party is in would probably collapse. Well, you're not going to go alone. Yeah. Then you're going to get stuck and you're going to die. Colin will go with you. I think he's picking up what you're trying to do.
OK. And he's like, oh, I'll come with you. I can see in the dark as well. And in fact, and he like does a quick like sigil with his hand and a like mark glows on you. And he casts enhance ability on you for intelligence checks. He's like, not that you need it, but just in case. No, thank you. I want to do it. So you explain this to rest the party. Yeah. And the. I fucking quit. I'm saying I did large. I mean, it's a good call. The intelligence is all I'm saying. So. Who is OK? Who is accompanying Callie into this cave for this surgical strike? OK, just Calvin. I mean, I can't see in the dark, but I don't think it's smart if one of us is going to go.
I think we all should go. OK, then we're all going to get stuck. She would say that out loud. She's she would say, I don't think that we should split up if one of us is going to go deep in there. If something were to happen, it's better if all of us are together to figure it out. Fair enough. Yeah. Here's the thing. If this goes well, what you guys have is a fortified location. You could see exactly who's coming in and who the fuck would come in other than a monster. Like, it's not like you have to worry about other travelers. Really? The odds are crazy slim.
And if you seal off the cave behind you, it would halt your exploration of the cave. But it doesn't sound like that's what you're interested in anyway. Well, I mean, it also could be an epic home base for groupie. Oh, you guys want to have like a Bond villain mountain. Breland, you got that moonshine going. I refuse. I'll never have. Oh, I think you're really like blowing into a jug. Go ahead. Sorry. No, I was just saying I definitely learned how to make ethanol in my organic chemistry class. Oh, we we we did make alcohol. Nice. Nice. Nice. We're all we're all going in.
Is that the. I mean, Larg was setting up camp, so I thought I and I were like asleep already. I was asleep. Yeah. He's not a part of this conversation. So he just he just quit like he's on the outskirts like I picture it in the mouth of the cave, like right there, like on the on the border. Yeah. Think about like going on a road trip and there's one person who just hates it. Right. So like he hates being in these mountains. He hated that cyclops. He wants off this mountain. He he lays down and goes to sleep. Right. And here's the thing. I completely I don't like going shopping and I'm a miserable prick when I go shopping and I hate everyone and I hate everything.
And I didn't get the shit kicked out of me like Larg did. So I can't imagine. Yeah. So I'll probably stay behind with Larg then. Oh, what's my name? Elena is going to stay behind. You stay behind. Yeah, because Elena doesn't like this idea. OK. OK. Like I know I brought it up, but so I don't want to cast doubt. But what I'm hearing is we're splitting the party. Yeah. Two for two. Two for two. Tatiana half in her like sleeping bag is just going to like frustratingly push herself out and stand up. Be like fine. Oh, yeah. You want goblins or do you want goblins? This is how you get goblins.
You wanted to sleep Tatiana. This this will give us a chance to sleep. And here's the thing. If this goes well, like you have an uninterrupted night of sleep. Plus, I mean, you could like if you wanted to, you could check out these weapons and armor and all that crap. So like there is there's an upside. It's not just a crazy plan for crazy plans sake. There might be gold. There could be gold. That is true. If you actually say that out loud, Tatiana. There could be gold Tatiana. She will quickly grab her weapons and lead the way. At least arrows. Maybe there's arrows.
Jason, did I use my Bardic inspirations all up? I feel like I did. I feel like you did. I can't. I can't be sure. I feel like I would have already used them because we did the mountain climbing. We haven't rested since then. Right. Oh, no. OK, then. Yeah, they're gone. Never mind. Yeah, it's been a crappy day. Sorry, Kelly. But here's the thing. You might get them back in just a moment. And she's got intelligence checks. I think it'll be fine. OK, so Callie, Kaldin and Tatiana are going to go into this cave gingerly. I'm guessing you're looking around. You're I take I take Tatiana's hand to so she can so we can go in the dark.
OK. Oh, yeah. I would have to have a torch. OK. Or we do a torch or cast dark vision. I would have to I would have to take a long rest. I never mind. So never mind. It has to be on my prepared list of spells. I'm going to be. We can we can spark a torch. We got a torch. OK. Torch is lit. And yeah, this place is OK. This is like Monster Central. Like this. This so isn't fit for people. And yeah, you know that already. That's why you're taking precautions. So I'm guessing you are going to move into this cave quite a bit. And it does narrow a little. The mouth of the cave is obviously much larger than some of these corridors.
The corridors are actually pretty big, though. So there is enough room for all three of you to walk side by side. Where would Callie feel like? How far back are we going? Like, give me a distance. I mean, probably. I don't know. You're asking me about distance? I don't. I mean, I'm equally as shitty. You could tell me. To a point. Probably. To a point. I just I know that the the spelt Lee works in like a 20 foot area. OK. So probably try to get the corridor down to a reasonable size. OK. Well, OK. And your goal is to cause a cave in. Yeah. OK. A controlled cave. A controlled.
Yes. Not like of the entire cave. But OK. Here's what we're going to do. So read the spell out. Normally this would be cast on an area and there'd be people in it and stuff like that. We're going to do this a little bit differently. But read this out to people so that they know. Sure. So I choose a point that I can see on the ground within range. And I think the range is 60 or 90 feet. A fountain of a fountain, a fountain of turned earth and stone erupts in a 20 foot cube centered on that point. And then it says, like, each creature must make a dexterity saving throw and it does damage.
And obviously you're not casting it on top of you. So you're you don't have to worry about any of that. Well, we'll see. But I don't think you'll have to worry about any of that. Yeah. But here's what we're going to do. Normally you'd be casting this on an area and there'd be people in it, presumably, because this is more of a combat situation thing. And they would roll saves, you know, and we'd see. Now, obviously, the cave itself isn't going to roll a slave. A slave? Oh my god. This cave is terrible. That is so dark. What I'd like you to do is I'd like you to roll a flat D10 and that is going to measure the size of the cave in we're going to get.
So one is like a little bit of rumbling and we get some stones fallen, but not the cave in you really want. I would not shoot for a 10. Oh boy. This is like the situation with the earthquake. It's like don't roll an eight. Well, yeah. OK, so maybe shoot for like a five. OK. OK. Four. That's fine. So, OK. So I imagine. OK, so we got Callie, Kaladin, Tatiana in the cave and Callie is going to do her thing. Arms outstretched. Just start shaking the shit out of this out of this section here. And you're going to see that that that that churning dirt and rocks and it is just going to kind of erupt and slap against the walls of this cave.
And there's a hell of a lot of shaking. So I would imagine Brailin, Elena and Larg are going to feel this a bit. And you are going to hear rocks tumbling and it's going to go according to plan that there is a section. I would say a nice 20 foot section that is pretty much blocked off almost up to the ceiling. So you got like a foot maybe gap. So something would have to be fairly tiny to fit through that. Like we're talking cave fissures or something like that. But this isn't really the type of cave that has creepy crawlies. It's not really that type. So that is something I feel like you guys would be pretty familiar with at this point.
Yeah. Yeah. So cave-in is going to go according to plan. Lots of rumbling and then crumbling. And then there's going to be like a dark, like just a silence. Like it's it kind of feels strange after everything settles. As soon as it like actually works, Tatiana is going to look at Calli and just say, Jesus, Calli. And like Calli is just going to let out the largest breath because she was like really worried about how this is going to go and like just 100% relieved that they're not dead under rubble. And then like, called in, like clap around the shoulder and say, excellent, amazing job.
As Cauldron speaking, he's going to get cut off. Yeah. Deeper on the other side of this wall of crumbled rocks from that foot. Like you're definitely going to hear a sound. It's distant, but very distinct. That is a dragon roar. Oh, God. Oh, no. So you're going to hear this roar and things are going to start happening very quickly from this point. I would say from that moment, you have a split second to decide what you'd like to do. Now, I guess here's the thing. I said it's distinctive, but I think I have to get you three to roll to see if you know what that is.
So all three of you, could you give me a nature check? Do you think I could have advantage on that? Oh, yeah. Here's the thing. You'd have to beef this hard. Specifically you, Kaladin. Right. Nature, you said, right? Yeah. If you're double digits, you're fine. Yeah, you're fine. OK. Does us that are in the back, do we hear it too? No. Oh, God damn it. Hey, you want to be outside the cave. Yeah, but I was going to say something really funny. What were you going to say? In alternate theory, what were you going to say? Well, it's not that funny. I would have just, you know, been like sitting around, you know, maybe looking out the cave, making sure no one's coming.
And then I hear a roar and I'm just going to be, God fucking damn it. I'm going to take out my sword and start walking towards the cave, like inside. That's what's really funny. Do you know what? Give me a perception check. Oh, my God. OK. If it's high enough, then we'll just make that cannon. Give me a woof. Oh, no. Very like 1000. Alayna dreams that happened, though. Like, that's that's fine. She's sleeping. She smiles because she knows she got them good. So, Kalden grabs the shoulders of Kali and Tatiana and says, God fucking damn it. Well, OK, so this isn't great, right?
Three. What what do you guys want to do here? This you're going to hear thunderous stomping like you're going to hear lots of movement on the other side of that wall. Does it sound like I think we run to the to the rest of the group? OK, warn them. OK. As they're running, Kalden's like, Kelly, I hope your magic is strong and that wall holds. Kelly just going, ah. Based on like the roar and the amount of like footsteps and stuff we hear, does this sound like a very large? I would say. Like we felt what the Cyclops felt like on the mountain. That's very true.
I would say, especially with those nature rolls. You're it's a pretty large dragon, I would say. No, it's not a baby retreat. It's not a baby. Definitely not a baby. So much so. We're running. Yeah, no. OK, so I would say just about the point where you're 20, 25 feet from the mouth of the cave, you are going to hear an explosive shattering. It sounds like this dragon hit that wall hard and pretty much Kool-Aid man through it. Oh, my God. There's a dragon shaped hole through it. Yeah, so just. My spell says it takes one minute per five feet to. Oh, so the dragon has an ability called Oh, yeah, and it's just kind of it's a legendary ability.
So that happened. I'm assuming you're waking the rest of the party up. Do we even have to? I feel like after the wall explodes, you guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Callie just like, Dragon, Dragon. It's not a cyclops. We just run past them as they're sleeping. Guess we're climbing down a mountain in the night time. So I need to. Boy, I need to present your options to you so that you can make an educated decision. Your choices are thus. You can stay and fight this dragon in the open. Well, it's a relatively open space for a cave. You would be confined in a cave with the dragon.
There is a silver lining to that, which is the dragon cannot take flight in the cave. The drawback, of course, is you'd be trapped in a small space with a giant goddamn lizard. Now, if you choose to flee and the dragon does give chase, you would be completely at its mercy in terms of it being able to take flight. You'd be marching single file down a mountain and it could just take potshots at you if it so chose. We could hide though, right? I mean, you're on the side of a mountain. Yeah, that's true. If you got to another cave, maybe. I just fill it up with fire because I'm assuming it's a red one.
This cave is full of goblins. Brimming with goblins. Just a slew, just stewing, a cornucopia of goblins. In D&D terms, how large are we thinking this dragon is? Huge. I'm assuming huge. Goddamn it. OK. Sorry. I can't push it. Here's what I'm going to do for you guys. You're going to show it to us, aren't you? No. OK. One, don't put it like that. [laughter] Oh, no. [laughter] Why'd you have to make it weird? That's been the nature of today. [laughter] I'm going to let you guys roll for it. So, here are your options. OK. Get ready. I want one of you to roll a flat d20.
And, not yet, not yet, not yet, not yet. I'm just really excited. Not yet. I wanted to do it. OK. I respect that, but not yet. If you roll an 11 or higher, you got yourself a young red dragon. If you roll yourself a one through 10, you got yourself an adult red dragon. Damn it. Does mine count or no? No. I said not yet. [laughter] I want to build a suspense, Val. Hurry. That's OK. Are you ready? OK, Valerie. So, the difference between-- OK, so with your nature checks, you definitely hear a lot of thunderous movement and stuff like that, and you're like, well, narrowing it down, let's do some math.
We know it's not an ancient red dragon. We know it's not that big. And we know it's not-- so you're trying to categorize it in your head. The difference between a young dragon and an adult dragon, a full-fledged grown-up dragon, is a lot. It's the difference between basically fighting a double-decker bus and a small jet. So, there's a big difference there. Wait. Which one is bigger? Because the double-decker bus is definitely bigger than a small jet. I just want to let you know. It just got missiles, though. Yeah, I'm talking about mobility, mostly. Oh, OK.
So, what you're hoping for is smaller in this case. Mm-hmm. OK? Are you ready? I'm ready. OK. So, who's going to do this for me? It looks like Valerie. Val, you're going to do it for me? Yeah, I want to do it. OK. What you're hoping for is a high roll, so do it. Give me a flat D20. Yay! Nice. Woo! So, you got yourself a smaller of the two dragons. It's still a dragon. Never underestimate a dragon, but it's smaller. Let's eat it. [laughter] We have to prepare it first, and that's going to take a little while. Never pan fry your dragon. So, we get to the party, and Cauldron's going to turn around, give a beat, close his eyes and listen, and he's going to say, "I think it's a young version of this dragon.
I don't know what kind. It is possible that we could stand our ground here, but if we go down the mountain, it could take all of us." So, he's going to just roll over, get up, grab his shield, go, "All right, well, we fight it here then." What's the rest of the party think about that plan? Braelyn goes invisible. So that happens. Call in a look where he was and just nod like, "Yep." That tracks. Hey, Valerie. Yes? Stop arguing about plane sizes in the chat. I know a little bit. I just wanted to share my knowledge. And I appreciate that. You might have bigger fish to fry right now.
I think Tatiana is going to sort of ask, "Is there any way we can just surround it in the opening of the cave? Like, keep it from coming out of the cave?" Well, it just broke its way through rocks, so I don't know how effective we'd be in just standing there being like, "Sorry, you can't get out." What about the power of friendship? No. I didn't think about that. Oh, yeah, we Care Bears stare at it. Does that do anything? Wow, what a great throw. Oh, sorry, go ahead. No, I'm just sighing. Cullen will look at Elena and say, "Well, if we can keep it from getting out, then we can keep it from taking flight.
We might not be as sturdy, but we're not rocks, Elena. We have weapons and magic." That's a good point. Would we want it to leave, though? Because then it's not attacking us. I think it wants us to leave. I don't think we could outrun it. Larg is going to start walking toward the cave entrance. All right. Well, allow me to get you guys a map while we're- Uh-oh. As Larg sort of starts to walk towards the cave entrance, Tatiana's going to walk behind him and just say before she goes, "I'm getting so drunk after this." You hear her voice disembodied. "Me too." But what about the other dragon?
Oh, God. This might be the most group B thing that's ever happened. Is it? Yeah. This is the most pruney group B has ever B'd. It's pretty. I'm so sorry, guys. How much B could a group B be? If a group B bees bees bees. I used to think you guys just had bad luck. It might be just bad judgment. It's a combination of the two. It's both, yeah. What was our bad judgment? Greed. Greed was our judgment. We wanted to loot. I don't know. That army of paladins is not going to fund itself. You're right. You know why? That's a good point. Ooh, what if we give them dragon scales?
We're not giving them a goddamn thing from the cave. This is ours. This is ours. We kill this thing, that's ours. We kill this thing, we live on this mountain now. It's our mountain. That's fair. Oh man, that'd be pretty badass, guys. He's so badass. Just saying. Think it over. Maybe. We just need to figure out some form of like fast travel and we could totally have a homebase up here. Braelyn, how did you roll a 29? Did you roll a D100? I had a button. Yeah, I had a button on accident, my D100 button. Where's the D100? I just put two D10s together. Right? Well, if you right click the D10, it gives you the percentage.
That's the one I did. And I just made a button. Oh, I want to try one thing. What do you want to try? Are you like putting down a map or something? Are we waiting on anything? Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't worry. I'm just setting you guys up. Don't worry about it. Oh my God. I'm going to share a map with you guys. Yay. Is it as beautiful as the last one? Oh no. It's pretty. I wanted to give you guys a nice pretty place to fight in. Underdark. To die in. Yeah. That's negative thinking. We're not thinking that. I mean, you just said yeah, so. Well, I was absent-minded, but I wasn't thinking.
A place for us to die in. Yeah. Ooh. Oh my gosh. Oh, is it cool? It's still loading. Oh yes. It's pretty. It's being funny. I can't like zoom out. I zoom and it just centers on the dragon. Yeah, give it a second. It's just, maybe the table's trying to tell you something. This is where it is. No, no, no. Focus up. Yeah, I'm going to get a little bit more of that. I'm going to get a little bit more of that. This is where it is. I think it's yeah. At least mechanically wise, it's as big as a psych. Yeah. Large. Oh, it is a large. Yeah. No, it's large. You're pronouncing it wrong.
Wait, which side? Do you know what I need you guys to do? I need you guys to roll initiative. I hope you like this theory-a-thon 2019. It's been fun. Fucking dragons. Oof. Yet again. Oof. Yet again. This mountain hates me. All right. Let's get this dragon to roll. Boom. Oh, wow. Oh, nice. Almost dead last. Tight. Almost. Look at that shit. I have a question. Is the dragon holding anything? I thought you were going to ask, is the dragon holding? Like this. Wait, what does that mean? Like a gun? Does the dragon have weed basically? Yes, a gun. The dragon whips out his Glock and he has every right to defend his home.
It's got a gun. Shotgun. Who's on the lawn? The dragon says, and just guns down the party. That being said. Tatiana. I'm going to delay. Jamie, why? Oh, thank you. Pass. Have you decided, are we fighting this or are we going to run? You marched into the cave with your swords open. I don't know what that means. Wait, what? I wanted to try something, but if I need to wait for my turn, that's fine too. I'd say wait for your turn. Yep. Okay. Callie. Pass. I guess I'm going to do spike growth. I thought you were going to do another cave. Yeah, I can't do that anymore. Okay.
I need a 20 foot radius. You ready guys? Is that a circle, right? Yes. Radius means circle. Every time I need assistance, I think. I'm on it. Thank you. 20 foot radius. I need a 20 foot radius. All right. There you go. Holy shit. Centered on the dragon or like right in front of the dragon. One more over to the left. It's a portal. Yeah, there you go. Perfect. Thank you. Okay. So, Oh my God. I hate everything that's happening right now. So when the dragon moves in the area, it takes 2d4 piece of damage for every five feet it travels. Okay. And it's difficult terrain. This is any creature that goes in it?
Yeah, it's any creature. I hate it when you do this move because it means I can't do anything. Well, you can jump in, but as someone who's done that before, I wouldn't recommend it. Should I? Can I take that back? Can I take it back? Yeah. We're in the same chest. You're fine. I'll wait on spike growth till the next round then. Cause I didn't, I didn't realize he was like at the, at the bottom of the tracker. What I will do instead is I'll try to entangle it. Actually. That's what I'll do. Okay. This, this will go great. It's a strength save. So he's probably gonna pass anyways.
Maybe he's a weak dragon. There we go. All right. Yeah. Wow. You're going to see all these vines and thorns and stuff try to grab at its legs and stuff, but he's just going to like break out of them. Can I ask a question? What does that do to the morale of a party when you're watching moves that previously worked? I believe you use that move on a briar troll and it works. Sure did. So what do you, what do you like, that was one of the strongest things you guys potentially could have thought. And Calli wrapped that up. No problem. What does that do to a party's morale when you watch, it's like those vines are coming up and he's like, fuck that shit.
And he just like, it's then that you realize you're playing dark souls. Yeah, I've been playing second row a bunch, so I just resurrect and come back and I try it one more time. Calli anything else? No, that's it. Oh, I'm so sorry. You sound so bummed. No, it's okay. It's just all my good stuff I can't use because I don't have any third level slots left. This is going to go great you guys. Alayna! Okay, I'm gonna run up to the dragon. Like just enough movement to get right up in him. And then I am, because this is a dragon and just wicko and all out. I am going to do distracting strike, but only if I hit it.
So we'll see. I forgot how to play DD. Okay, I think I get this one. Holy shit, that'll hit. Okay, so now I expand once priority die and add that to the attack's damage roll. The next attack roll against the target by an attacker other than me has an advantage if the attack is made before the start of my next turn. Oh shit, that's awesome. So I'm going to do first just my regular damage. So that's eight damage and then I will use a superiority die which is a D8 and this is some extra damage. 12 damage total. And that's my first attack. Now my second attack, I'm just gonna try and hit it again.
Oh that'll hit. Oh man, you're swinging great. Okay, then I'm gonna do regular damage. You know you could roll the superiority dice and then just add that as a modifier to your damage? Oh, that's a good idea. I'll try and remember that. Nope, I'm just letting you know. So another eight, that's a solid... 20 damage. Nice Elena. Good lord. Hmm, very nice. Okay, anything else? Nope, that is gonna be it. So in the tracker, it looks like Tatiana wanted to jump in? Yeah. Okay, so let's just adjust. And it is Tatiana's turn. Wonderful. Wunderbar. Uh, Tatiana is gonna move, so she's gonna go one, two, three, four, five right there and just shoot an arrow at dragon.
Don't forget you have advantage. Yes, that's true. She doesn't have a lot of very fancy things, but let's see if this hits! That'll hit. Wow, you guys are doing great! So I'll do that. And I get my sneak attack because the dragon was just hit and I have advantage, which is 3d6. Wow, there's another 10. Don't forget, you can add the sneak attack to your damage as a multiplier. Oh, I didn't know I could do that. You totally can do that. So let me add that damage. My goodness, you guys might make short work of this dragon. Might've been all that threatened for nothing.
Why you lyin'? Why the fuck you lyin'? Anything else? No. Okay. Larg, don't forget, you are currently targeting Tatiana, Breland, and Elena for reasons. That's because I'm going to cast Bless. Oh, oh! And I'm going to do that and they're going to be blessed. And that is going to add, let me read that real quick. You bless up to three creatures of your choice within range. Whenever a target makes an attack roll or a saving throw before the spell ends, the target can roll a d4 and add the number rolled to the attack roll or saving throw. So you guys get Breland and Elena and Tatiana, get that, and then I'm going to move up 30 feet and put my shield in this thing's face and that's my turn.
I love it. Hashtag Bless in the chat. What is it, a monitor? No it's not a monitor, that's Matty. Erathis, he's Erathis. Erathis, thank you, yes. Erathis is saving your asses. Khaldun! Khaldun is going to see this incredible, majestic, and beautiful dragon and all of his friends rush in just smashing their weapons at it. And a part of him is going to die a little bit, but he understands that they need to survive and that is the way of the dragons and that is the way of the mountain. So he's going to point out with his finger and an icy blast is going to fire from him, this array.
That'll hit. Awesome. You know what red dragons don't like? Ice. Ice cold. Well then they're going to love me. So let me roll, that's 2d8 and oh, because we're level 6 now, I got a little extra bump because it's cold damage, so this is all cold damage. Oof, 13 damage. Oh, there's a little bit more. Oh, 8 damage, don't forget, you can, yeah, okay good, you did that. Okay, damn. That's a lot of damage. And then in Draconic he's just going to say, he's going to try and bellow out as loud as he can, "Stand down, be gone!" Okay. So, this dragon will understand that, but let me put this in perspective for you.
Let's say I break into Jameson's house and let's say I kick over his television and then let's say Larg comes out with a baseball bat, or Jameson, either one, and then I say, "Stand down Jameson!" I think he would be upset and confused. Confusion is definitely what I'm going for. I think that would be a perfectly reasonable request and I would go back to bed. Oh man, okay, well, I guess it's the dragon's turn. Oh, his speed is reduced by 10 feet as well. Sorry, forgot to mention that. I don't know how to put that on the dang, that's not my dang thing.
I don't think he's going anywhere yet, but like, it's good to know. I like to know my options. He can shimmy to the left, he can shimmy to the right. That's true, yeah, he can do a little cha-cha. So okay, here's what's going to happen. This dragon, of course, has a multi-attack, guys. This dragon is not... he's been quiet up until now. I think he's been relatively calm under the circumstances. But he is going to bite at larg, so let's see what happens. Targets larg, and that'll work. So okay, here we go. One bite. Uh-uh. 20. That'll hit. That'll hit. Okay, so that's going to do 2d10 plus six piercing and plus 1d6 fire damage.
So in total, 25 damage, and what the hell just happened? Oh! Oh, there goes the bless. Larg's about to get mad. Oh god. Well this dragon is just upset that you did not fall down. How dare you. So he's going to claw at you and your friend. So let's claw at larg first. Ahh! Whoa! Oh, and let's do 14 more damage to larg. Holy shit. Now let's claw at your friend, Elaina. Oh, that'll hit. Oh my god. Wow! Snake Eyes and still did 8 damage. And that'll wrap up the dragon's turn. Brelin! Oh boy, Brelin's invisible. He sees all this, and he's like, "Oh no!" What's... Oh my god, my speed.
I can't get close enough. But I can help. Five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five, go right about there. And I will emerge from my invisibility and cast Healing Word on larg. Good. Can I... No, I should have said I was doing it in a second. I didn't say it, so I'm not going to do that. Okay. I'm gonna stick by my guns there. And then I'm gonna use my bow and shoot the dragon as my main action. Alright, I love it. So that's four health back to larg. That could be the difference between life and death, man. Yes, I know all too well. This is short, boy. Here we go.
Let's do it. That'll hit. Oh boy, four damage. So you healed as much as you took away. Yeah, I saw Brailin just like... I like to think he's running out into the middle, like right in between the back row and the front row fighters, and then bursting out of invisibility. And as he's drawing back the arrow, he speaks to larg like, "Ah, get up, big guy!" And then he lets go. He lets loose the arrow at the same time. That's the end of my turn. Damn. Okay. That's very cool. That's a very cool turn. I love when Brailin comes out of invisibility to fire shit out. It's awesome.
I love a surprise Brailin. There's always a surprise Brailin. So cool. That's the idea, man. Callie! Okay. Callie is going to move one, two, three, wait, five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty, thirty. I'm gonna go over here to the far side, so we're not all clumped together. And then I am going to cast Faerie Fire at the dragon, but I'm going to do it at a point where you're not hitting your friends. Right, far enough back so it doesn't hit them. I usually assume, but yeah. I just want to make sure, because it says creatures. Hey, I'm not that kind of DM. I know you wouldn't hurt your friends.
Thank you. Ooh. All right. I'm gonna go over here. I can fail to save. Yay! Okay, so everybody has advantage on attack rolls against it. What? Ooh, is it just weapon attacks or is it all? Any attack roll against the affected creature. So you've got this red dragon and these green sparkly spores kind of clinging to it. So you can see it a lot better. In case you had trouble finding the dragon. You know, we're pretty far back in the cave. That sounded sassier than it was meant to be. You know, so you can see the tail when it's about to club you in the head, you know?
I imagine it has that cool underlighting too, so it just fires up so then we see the dragon like shadows sort of like going up on it and Larg and Elena. Oh man, so the dragon has like underlighting like Fast Nefarious. They put body kits on him. That shit is non-street legal. Do you know what I always think of when I think of that? I think of the first 30 seconds of Get Low. Because if anyone played Need for Speed Underground, that brum bum bum, that's what I think of every single time. And sorry, Elena's up. Hi, Elena. Hello. So, I have advantage, yes? You absolutely do.
Perfect. So I'm just going to try and hit it. Do it? I dare you. Okay, I will. Wow, we dropped a two to take an 18. All right. That will absolutely hit that dragon. Okay, and then damage. Eight damage. Then I'm going to do it again. That'll miss. You have advantage, right? You have advantage. Oh, you didn't roll with advantage. Oh, I didn't know I still had advantage. Did you? Yeah, you're standing next to Larg. Oh, okay. Well, who are we? Okay, that's fine. They can't all hit, right? I don't want to use... I mean, what are you holding back for? I know. Okay. Of course, this could get worse later.
We don't know. Then I will try adding on precision attack. I can expend one superiority die and add it to the roll. So I'm adding it to the 15. Well, yes. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So I'm adding a D8, and I think that could be enough to make it. Yeah, because I got hit with a 23 before. So okay. So here's my D. Okay. Well, unless 16 makes it. That is gonna miss, I'm afraid. Okay, then I'm done with my turn. Oh, I'm sorry. You hit it really hard the first time, though. I did. Golly gosh, that's gonna bring up Tatiana. Tatiana is gonna regret this later. She's gonna move again.
One, two, three, four, five. And she is going to fire once more with advantage. Okay. Wow. Oh, wow. We're gonna drop a five, take a nine. That's 17, and it's still gonna miss. Well, oh, I was gonna say, I was like, damn it, I was one less. Well, I mean, you know, every round can't be a great round. So that's all I got. He's wily like he's ducking. He's he's he's. You don't have two attacks yet? No. Are you sure? It didn't say anything about that. Maybe not. I was leveling up earlier. All these rogues have two attacks. They did get it, but I think it's later. Oh, hey, Lark, what you thinking?
What you feeling? Larks, um, Larks kind of feeling that bite earlier. I think Larks gonna go ahead and cast a spell on himself called cure wounds. I love it. Thanks. He's gonna take those hit points and he's gonna stay where he is because that's all he has a time to do right now. Okay. All right. I respect that. So, Calvin, Calvin's going to conjure up some hail and snow swirling above this dragon on the ceiling and pull his arm down and try and have them strike on this guy. Does he have a name? I ask it its name. What is your name? Jerry. Oh, wow. He's gonna make a super double save like, wow.
Yeah. Nice one, Jerry. And anything else? Yes. I am gonna, I am going to spend some sorcery points and do it again. Okay. I'm gonna do it as a bonus action. You can't save twice. Um, actually let me just see and make sure I can do that. Yes. Okay. So I crush up two, two of those. One sec. The way you put that, it's like, yeah, I'm just gonna ground these into a powder and snort it. I'm gonna snort these sorcery points and it's gonna give me the energy I need. Pulls magical arcane energy out of the air, crushes it in his fist, snorts it like Al Pacino doing coke, the other Scarface.
I got a great idea, guys. Yeah. I'm gonna cast it at third level this time. Seeing that I missed, he's gonna try and pull these down again. Let's see if that goes. Fuck. Jason, the table is broken. Please fix. Please fix. Please restart. How is that possible? But that'll be my turn. I am so sorry. That is rough. Rough stuff. Okay, let's, let's see something here. Okay. Man, the chat feels for you guys. I want you to know. Okay. I need to get ready and do a thing and I am so sorry. Where's that 30 foot? Holy chat. Oh no. That's a 30 foot. Okay. So here's what's gonna happen.
You stop it right now. I'm sorry. I gotta. It's, Dragon's gonna Dragon. Here's the thing though. If you move our character away, you see that the red showing where it is is actually not on me or Lark. That's true. How good, how good for you? Dragon's gonna take one step back. So the Dragon's gonna take one step back and kind of flex its wings in this cave rear back and it is going to breathe fire in a 30 foot cone. And I need you three to make dexterity saves. Gladly. But do they get any opportunity? Yeah, they get some swipes? Saving throw? No, because he moved back one space.
Oh my God. Saving throw? I just wanna double check. All right. Ouch, population, Braylin. Good doof. So okay, here's what's gonna happen. Jesus. Okay. Well, I have good news and bad news. So Elena is gonna save. So Elena is going to take half the damage. Everyone else has taken full damage. The full damage is 16 D6. Oh, are you kidding me? I am not kidding you. Jason. Look. What are you doing? Yo fam, we gotta get the fuck out of here. Two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16. I need you to appreciate how many D6. No, I unappreciate it.
Are you guys ready? No. Well, you can't. Sorry, I'm not ready. You gotta wait, you gotta wait. Okay, I'll wait. I'll just hover above the chat so that everyone can see it. All right, here we go. I can't. I mean, I guess the goodness is there's no modifier. For 16 D6, you don't need one. Who? Oh God. No. 68 damage. My God. Time to go. Okay, well. Fucking bye everybody. Jesus Christ. No, you're okay, Alina, because you take half. Well, I know I'm fine, but everybody else isn't. Oh my God. Oh my God. Braylin's done. Oh no. I'd like to bring up this point that that is a wizard's decision, not mine.
I did not assign that much fire damage to a dragon. Though I do think it makes sense. Yeah, you're the DM. You can make the rules. Well, okay. So that'll end the dragon's turn. That will outright kill Larg and Braylin. It was 68 damage, so 34 damage to Alina. And that'll end the dragon's turn. Callie. Mm-hmm. So I'm going to remove these two. So I hate to do this, but you know what part comes next. Flames are going to burst from this dragon's mouth, and it isn't just fire. It is essentially napalm. It is jettisoned from this dragon's mouth, and it spreads far and wide very quickly.
And it's so intense that you're only going to hear Larg and Braylin scream for a couple of seconds before they just fall down dead as smoldering corpses still on fire. What would you like to do? Okay. I am going to move right up to Alina, and I am going to cast Cure Wounds on her at second level. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to roll my d8 first and add it as a modifier. Thank you. 8, so 8 plus this. Oof, 17. And I am going to take a few steps back just because I can't hit anything. Is that fair? And that will end my turn. All right. That'll bring up Alina.
Okay, so I think when the fire came out of the dragon's mouth, Alina was able to kind of, because she was just on the edge of it, she was able to sort of roll out of the way a little bit to help not get the full brunt of the flames. But because of what Jason said, she did hear Clark and Braylin, which is so fucked up, Jason. I'm sorry. And she knows how hurt she was from rolling out of the way. So she doesn't really even have to look back to know what happened. So something's, even though she's hurt and then Callie's gonna, you know, cure wounds a little bit so she'll feel a little bit better and something's gonna come over her and she's just gonna yell, "No!" And she's gonna run up to the dragon.
Oh God. She's going to try and hit it. Let's do this. That will hit. That will just hit the dragon. Okay. Sludge. You got advantage too. Yeah, you have advantage for the Faerie Fire. All right. Oh, that's right. Yeah. Let's see if I get a crit then. Oh, a little closer, but not quite. Okay, that's fine. Okay. So I will do damage. Oh, 12 damage to the dragon. And then her second attack, she's going to do the same thing again, but this time, well, actually, we'll see if she hits first. Okay. Oh, oh, oh. There it is. There it is, Elena. Oh my God. Ladies and gentlemen, we have our first critical of the day.
And right after you gave us all that flavor. Hashtag natural 20, hashtag we are there. That was even my advantage. Here's what I'm going to do because I'm the DM and fuck it. What you wrote on the crit table. Yeah. Is strike now. Any allies adjacent to you get advantage. Considering you have advantage, I'm going to let you roll again on the critical hit table. Okay. What do I roll? 1d20. That is a 12. 12. Is that 12? Let me open the critical hit table because I feel you guys have suffered enough and I feel like that would make sense. So eviscerate. Oh my God. You do two standard critical hits to the target.
So here's what I want you to do. You got this dragon targeted, right? Yeah. Okay. I want you to hold the shift button down. Yeah. And I want you to hit damage. That's 16 damage. I want you to do that again. Ooh. Ooh, that is 14 more damage to this dragon. It doesn't look healthy. You just did 30 damage. To a dragon. Oh God. Well, good news is I'm not done yet. Yes. Because I'm going to use my action surge. That's still a thing, right? Just making sure. Uh, yes. I, I, yeah, I didn't take it away. Okay, so I'm going to use my action surge and I have advantage. Yes. I don't, I don't know.
I don't know how to play this game. No, no, no. You're doing great. You don't know how to play this game. You're doing great. Son of a bitch. Oh my gosh. Yes, Layla. Oh my God. In addition to standard critical hit damage to your target, you may take an extra standard action this turn. Oh my God. Okay. I'm going to do great damage. You are? I'm freaking out. Okay. Shift. Oh, okay. Yeah. No, obviously if I was going to add a maneuver, but I'm not going to. So 15 more damage to the dragon. So I imagine you just shout no and you run up. I'm thinking tombstone, but ignore me.
Like you have run up and you are just hacking and smashing at this dragon while it's trying to move its neck and head about. You're just coming at it so fast and furious. You're slicing at its tendons and it is just bleeding everywhere. So I get another standard attack? You sure do. Standard move or whatever. Yeah. No, I think I'm going to skip it. You know, I'll let the whole thing go. No, I'm going to attack it again with advantage. Fuck yeah. I still get advantage. Yeah. Oh my God. That seems broken, but I'll take it. It lasts for a whole hour. Oh, if only there had been one more.
The can't all be crits, but I would say you did a fair amount of damage to this dragon in the one turn that you had. 45 damage. Holy shit, Val. Oh my God. Well, you have to add on the 12 that I had before. You did a lot. Yeah, I didn't. Let's just throw it under the lots category. You did a lot. Oh my goodness. I want to say anything else, but you're good. You're fine. That's 57 damage on one turn. Uh, yeesh. Uh, Tatiana. I'm going to hit it with a stick. I love it. Advantage. Boom! I got one too. Son of a bitch! Oh my God. Another opportunity. In addition to standard critical hit damage to your target, you may take an extra standard action this turn.
Let's let's wow. Okay. This. Okay. We're so angry. 16 damage to the dragon. You get sneak attack, don't you? I do. Oh, yeah. That also gets critical too. Oh, it does. I got to do shit with it too. So it'd be 66? 66? Oh shit. Oh my goodness. Well, I didn't roll very well, but. Guess what? That will kill the dragon. Oh, can I get a last arrow go through his skull, please? Fucking yeah. Cause guess what? He had one hit point before you delivered your gear. Oh my God. Holy shit. Guys. Congratulations. Oh my God. You have been avenged. The cost was high. Some would say the cost was high.
I seriously want to look through all this shit though, because I'm very, I'm hopeful that maybe there's something that we can use to save somebody despite the bell. Well Jesus. I think a cruel DM would end the session there, but I'm not a cruel DM. What? So. I really thought you were going to end the session. No, no, no, no, no, no. We got a little more time. Good Lord, guys. Fucking great job. Seriously. Okay. Can't believe that happened. So this dragon goes down. I imagine it writhes and it screams. The one, two punch of Alina and Tatiana just, it, it, ya bum rushed it basically.
It didn't have much of a opportunity. It didn't even have a chance to recharge or anything. Like you just wrecked it. So what, what would everyone's reaction be after that? There are four of you left standing. Deep heaving breaths. Alina falls to her knees. Yeah. I want to attend to Alina as soon as possible because that's dragon fire. Uh, yeah, that ain't great. Yeah. So I, I'll throw a couple of healing spells at her, but would I have anything in my herbalism kit that would help the burns? I mean, I'm going to say because she dodged most of it, like Alina singed.
Okay, good. Like she didn't get it point blank. That was like a shotgun blast to the chest to everyone else. Cauldron is going to go up to the body of Braelon and kneel down really slowly at it. And I think he's just going to like try and pick up, pick it up, like pick up his little body and like it's all like when something gets burned, it gets even tighter, you know, like it gets smaller. The stuff contracts on it and he's just going to like pick it up and like, is there anything like he's going to brush whatever hair is left out of Braelon's face and just like hold his head to his chest as best he can and rock.
And he's going to look at Callie and just say, help, help. And Callie will start walking towards them and she'll check over him to see if there's anything she can do. Oh, man, this would be painfully evident that there's absolutely nothing. There's not a doubt in Callie's mind that he's very far beyond gone. Caldin, I don't think there's anything that we can do. And Caldin will like look down at little Braelon and I think it like it'll sink in that he's beyond the magic that the healing magic that they have available to them right now. And he'll look back up at Callie and look around at Tatiana, see all the carnage that happened here.
And he'll say, he had so much life. He had so much life. He brought so much life to Theria. He brought so much life to me. He would have loved to have gone out this way, though. What a story. What a song. And then he'll just hold him close and rock. Caldin, I'm so sorry, I didn't think that this was even a possibility. So sorry. We can't leave them here. We have to find a way to bring them, bring them to Esterhold with us. We can't leave them here. Larg wouldn't want to be left on a mountain alone. He'd want to be buried in a city. Braelon. We can bring them back.
We can bring them back. And over by where Alina is, she's still sort of kneeling, and when Caldin says that, she's going to sort of say softly, mostly to herself. But I think they're going to hear her as well, because I assume it's extremely quiet in this cave. No, we can't. They're gone and we can't bring them back. Alina, have you ever lost anyone that you loved? Unless you talk about right now, I guess not. Then you wouldn't understand that I would do anything, and I mean anything, to have Braelon back in this world. His light is a thousand times brighter.
This world is a thousand times better with him in it. Oh, yeah, you're going to kill yourself, too? Like what Ellen did for Larg, which doesn't even matter at this point. You're going to do that, too? You're going to make all of us go through this again? He'll look away from Alina and just look down at Braelon and just really, really softly say, if I have to. Alina's going to look away, kind of disengage from the conversation, and she's going to say to herself, kind of just, I don't want to do this anymore. I want to go home. Tatiana is going to sort of like, she was heavily breathing before and just sort of emotionally a wave is over her about losing these two people.
But as soon as Alina starts to break down, she's going to walk over and just like put an arm on her shoulder. Alina will lean into it. So we have two downed party members. There is a disagreement, let's say. Over what's to be done about this situation. Callie, let's pick up with you for a second. What's going through your head? Because, I mean, I think you know where... I think you know where Kaladin's going with this. Yeah. What would you be thinking? I mean, Callie's feeling super guilty right now because maybe if they hadn't done the cave-in thing, there wouldn't have been a dragon or maybe there would have when they fell asleep.
I don't know. But like it happened just then and she feels like it's a thousand percent her fault. And I think Callie has really always been against using the bell. But I don't know, maybe if like Kaladin made like a really good argument for it, she could be like sweet because she'd probably do anything to like fix her mistake. Tatiana, what about you? I think Tatiana, having seen Alina, this strong person break down, would be paying a lot of attention to that. And like I said, she's sort of... Kaladin is holding Braelon and Tatiana is holding Alina, trying to comfort her while sort of being in shock that all of this has occurred.
Like they just fought a cyclops and now they've just fought a dragon and lost two people. Boy. Well, let me ask a question. Before we get to looting and looking around and stuff, would Kaladin push the subject? I think right now, no. No, because Kaladin is above all else, pragmatic. That's not true. I literally thought for a second you were going to say Kaladin is pregnant. I'm like, what is happening? Kaladin is literally pregnant. Very pregnant. It's an impreg moment. No, but not... Pragmatic is not the right word. He knows that there's a time and a place for things.
And right now, like survival is utmost. They're out in a cave. They've just been through this horrible event. Right. They need some rest and they need to make sure that they are safe. But on the other hand, Kaladin knows if they're going to use this bell, this is the best place to do it. It's away from town. It's not by any civilization. If something were to go horribly wrong, which it might, the collateral damage could be, may not be as big here on the Subanda Mountain. So, no, I think instead what he's going to do is he's going to stand up and tell, like, look at everyone and say exactly that, like, we need a rest.
We can't get down the mountain tonight and we need to make sure that we're safe. And then he's going to try and move Brelin's body, like off to the side somewhere, like dignified as best he can. OK. Would the rest of you agree that sleeping is the best? Like that, like just basically getting a night's sleep? I mean, we haven't heard anything of wrestling from the mountain, right? I think the wrestling's done for now. Thank God. So I mean, he's not wrong. Even if we wanted to do something, we're out of juice, you know? So I think, I think, yeah, probably getting some rest is the only thing we can do right now.
OK. I have to do this, and this is just an odds thing, but I need one of you to roll the D20. As long as it isn't a one, two or three, you guys are going to sleep through the night and everything's fine. Who would like to roll a D20 for me? I'll do it. OK. Wonderful. Yeah, my God. Yes. Like, does this mean the treasure we get is really nice? That's what that roll was for, right? I just didn't want goblins to be... I would quit. I would quit. Oh, my God. OK, we're going to get to treasure in a second, but you guys are going to wake up with the dawn. I would just say you guys are thoroughly exhausted between hiking up the mountain and then the cyclops and then this, the emotional toll, the physical toll.
Just, yeah, you were very well deserving of a rest. So we did get a long rest? You absolutely did. I'm going to give it to you right now. And I think too, like, Cauldron takes like, excuse me, Cauldron takes like the bedrolls. You take what's left of the belongings of Larg and Brelyn and covers them up. OK. Oh, boy. OK, let's talk here. Let's do some table talk. Back away from characters for a moment. I would imagine that one of you would poke around the cave at some point. So we'll get to treasure in a moment. Potential treasure. I would also imagine that it's not going to be too long before some decision has to be made.
So we don't drag this out too much. What points would your characters make pro and anti Belle? Now, for those of you who don't know, you're just showing up. Let me recoup what the Belle of Vecna is. The Belle of Vecna is an artifact that is said to be able to bring people back from the dead if used correctly. Now, the problem is it destroyed an entire city when used incorrectly. Essentially, demons were brought into this realm. It's the things you had to fight in Donhurst were not pleasant. Flush golems, klkors, it was very bad. And it took effort to close that rift up and send those demons back.
And if I'm not misunderstanding, Kaldin wants to use that Belle to try and bring Larg and Braelyn back from the dead. Yeah. So his opinion did not change after a good night's sleep. No. OK, would Elena's mindset pretty much still be the same, not using the Belle? I'm trying to remember last time with Larg what we talked about with the Belle, and I'm pretty sure she was originally anti, but I feel like maybe she was sort of talked into it a bit or no, she wasn't because Larg wouldn't want us to use it. I think... I think Elena doesn't really have an opinion.
So you're just abstaining at this point? Yeah. Is that more because you don't have an opinion or is this like emotional numbness? Yeah, it's more the second one. Like she just doesn't care anymore. She's just tired and she doesn't want to think anymore. What about Callie and Tatiana? I mean, Tatiana is against using the Belle because she truly feels that they would not want the Belle to be used on them, whether that's true or not, because I don't know what they would want in this circumstance. You can only assume, but I think that's what she would assume is that they wouldn't want this.
So we shouldn't do it. We should exhaust all other resources before we even have to talk about this. What about Callie? So, yeah, so traditionally, like Callie's been pretty against using it. It's not a natural thing. We don't know exactly how it works. We found some instructions, but, you know, she feels like they were just good enough to reverse what happened. I don't think she feels like they have a good enough hand to do a full, complete, productive ritual, you know. But I mean, if there was a good argument made and like, Kaladin felt like 100%, he could totally do it.
I'm sure she could probably be persuaded. Well, let's do this. First off, let's poke around this cave, because I would imagine that at some point you would look around and see if there was anything of use, no matter how far fetched it might be. So I'm going to tell you, I want my reward. I'm going to tell you that there is a small chance that there could be something in this cave that could help. Oh, shit. Oh, my God. I need one of you to roll a d100 for me. Boy, I mean, I'll do it. I can do it. I haven't rolled over to it. Do it. Yeah, you do it. 100. 79. That's pretty high.
That's a good year. Pretty high. I feel like we're all just like, huh? Nineteen, seventy-nine. And then Billy Corgan comes out. Oh, and a siren. Great. Oh, good. You are going to find with a 79. You know what? You're going to find three things in this cave. You are going to find a Cloak of Protection. So while wearing it, it basically gives you a bonus of plus one to your AC and saving throws. You're going to find the Bracers of Archery. While wearing these bracers, you have proficiency with the longbow and shortbow, and you gain a plus two bonus to damage rolls on attacks made with such weapons.
And finally, you're going to find the Gauntlets of Ogre Power. Your strength score is 19 while you wear these gauntlets. You have no effect on you if your strength is 19 or higher. You're going to find these three items in this cave. Jason, can you repeat what the Bracers of Archery, what their effects were? Sure. While wearing the Bracers, you have a proficiency with longbow and shortbow, and you gain plus two to the damage rolls and ranged attacks made with such weapons. I could use that cloak. I bet Kelly could use that cloak too, huh? What did it do?
Sorry, I missed it. I think it's a Cloak of Protection. It gives a plus one to AC and saving throws while wearing it. My AC is a 13. Kelly should probably take this cloak. Yeah, gotcha. Kelly seems like a cloak type of person. I was just thinking, I was like, I don't know if Kelly is a cloak person. Oh. I'm going to roll it. Yeah, Kelly's a cloak person. Wow, a six gets you that? It was an even. Even or else. Oh, okay. Well, you're now wearing a Cloak of Protection. Ooh, what's it look like? Yay! Fashion show. You know what? You've had a tough day. You tell me what it looks like, Kelly.
Oh, God. I bet you it's just one of those ones that just looks like an ordinary cloak, but it's like kind of a little belt. It kind of looks like it's a little velvety, so it's a little like when it ripples, you can see a little bit of shine. Ooh. Gotcha. It's probably like a nice, I mean, I want it to be a nice forest green. A deep green. I was going to go with like a tangerine orange type of thing, but I'm joking. I mean, I could probably rock it, so don't bother. Yeah, you'd be fine. Can I ask a question? Sure. So is this in like the whole cave or, because I know that there was like a pile of half-eaten bodies, too, or is this like all-encompassing?
I'd say this is all-encompassing. Okay. These are some pretty, these are some pretty rare finds, I would say. And mostly you'd find a little gold here and there, some regular ass armor and stuff. Like, these are the things that could stick out. You're like, oh, shit. Okay, but what about gold? You find any monies? Wow. We gotta feed that army. We're broke as shit, man. You are. Do you know what? Here's what I'm going to do. Here's what I'm going to do for you guys, because I love you. I want each of you to roll a d100 for me. Oh, God. Yep. Oh, I think I rolled twice, sorry.
Three times, apparently. What are you doing? I don't know. Did you roll a six on a d100? I don't know. No, that was her, uh, do I rock a cloak? I rolled a 58, sorry. I was about to say, oof. I did roll a 19 on a d100, though. Okay, that's fine. That's not bad. You guys are going to find 291 gold. Dang. Not too shabby. Not shabby at all. 291 gold. So, let me ask you this. What would the argument be from Kaladin? What would you say to these party members? You've had a night to sleep on it. Your best friend in the world is gone without hesitation, without a chance to say goodbye, like nothing.
And someone you guys fought to bring back from the dead. Also gone. Instantly. What do you say to your party members to try and convince them to risk everything by using this spell? *sigh* Kaladin is going to look at all of them and say, "I know we've had a rough go of it, and this journey has been long and perilous. But, together, we are a force that can stand against a tide that is coming. We don't know what it is. We don't know how long we have." The goddess of cities herself spoke through one of us to give us this edict. And we have to use every tool in our possession.
We can help this world, and we can bring them back. It's a risk, but I know how to do it. And I need your help. Now more than ever, I need your help." And then he's going to look out towards the mouth of the cave at the vista and say, "Theria needs your help." *sad music* God damn it, Ian. *laughs* Elena's gonna pipe up. You say you know how to use this spell? *sigh* Yes. I was able to perform the counter-ritual before. I've been studying this spell as much as I can as we've been traveling. My magic works a little bit different. I draw from it in a different way than maybe even what this spell requires.
But I have the notes from Don Hurst. I've been able to do this before, and I think with your help, we can do this successfully. And even if, Elena, because this is important to me, as I know it's important to you, even if something were to go wrong, this is the best place to do it. If we took them down to Esterholt or any other city, that could be catastrophic and that's not what I want. But I do want to try. Because... *sigh* Because I know Brelyn would try for me. And he would try for you. I have to write some letters then. Okay. Maybe I can catch a raven or something.
Or Kali. You're pretty good with getting those animals. Kali, Tatiana, how would you be feeling? I mean, I think Tatiana... Oh my god, this is so hard. I think Tatiana would sort of gently ask, "Do you really think that this is what they would want?" For us to put what happened on Don Hurst even as a possibility in Theria. If you can look at me and tell me that this is what they would want, I can stand beside you. But I just don't see anybody being okay with this. Kalden nods his head in agreement, like, "I understand, Tatiana. And you know what? If I'm being totally honest..." And he looks her right in the eyes like, "No.
I don't think they would want this." "But we're weighing options here." "If we don't bring them back, we risk not being able to help this world in the way that we've been asked to." "And then, what is it worth then?" "A hundred Don Hursts all across Theria?" "That would be the legacy. You leave them with death." "Bringing that all across Theria." "But if we don't do this as a fellowship, that's what we risk." "Is one Don Hurst more or less than a hundred of them?" "And Tatiana, I can't just let him die." Tatiana's gonna sort of break for just a moment. She's trying really hard to make her stance known and be strong.
But she was close with Braelen too. And so she's gonna break for just a moment in her face. And look back at Cauldron. And just say, "I miss him too." "I know. I know." "And even so, we might have to go against what they would want to use this means." And he pulls the bell from his backpack and holds it in front of everyone. "And use this means so that we can all have a chance to do whatever divine intention we were asked to do." "And I can say with certainty that that is something that they would want." "They may not like the way, but they would want to help as much as they can, for as long as they can." "It's not natural.
And what happens if it works, but it takes your life?" "Do you think that they're gonna want that?" "No." "But I think we can't be concerned with what they want right now, because this is bigger, ultimately." "And we're gonna have to make a lot more choices like this, things we don't want to do, if we want to stop whatever's coming." "You saw how Lark was after Ellen's death. Do you think that's what you really want?" "I understand that there is a lot happening, a lot that you want to attend to, but even if it works and they come back, I don't know." "Call in a walk up to Callie and put his arm on her shoulder and give it a squeeze and say, 'There's a lot of unknowns, I know, but we won't know unless we try.'" "And there's a risk. There's always a price.
God knows we've paid it." "Then you're sure that you can do this?" "I'm sure that with your help, that we can do this together. I don't know if I can do it by myself." "And Callie's just gonna nod." "And Callie's gonna bring her in and give her an embrace as best as he can." "Oh yeah, she's gonna hug the shit out of him." "Snap all the ribs." "Oh, your poor frail body." "Yeah, and then he's just gonna check in with everyone visually, just make sure everyone's good. Is Elena there? I know she said she was going to write letters, but has she gone off?
Has she removed herself?" "I mean, she's removed herself from the conversation, but she's still in the cave. You can still see her." "And then he says, 'Alright, I'm gonna prepare. And when you all are ready, whatever you need to do, do it now and come join me.'" "And then he's gonna walk over to the mouth of the cave so we can see the whole party here silhouetted against this daylight as they're coming out toward the entrance here." "And he's gonna sit down and place the bell." "Tatiana just wants to say under her breath, and I don't know if anybody is nearby that would be able to hear her, but she's just gonna say, 'We could be bringing about the end of everything.'" "So we decided to use the bell?" "Jamie, that's so good!" "I wasn't lame!
It felt lame after I said it. I was like, 'Oh no, good.'" "It's not as lame as when Kal'Dil was like, 'For all of Theria.'" "Just kidding, I loved it." "Guys, I think that's a good time for us to stop for the evening." "Oh my god, perfect timing." "Ladies and gentlemen, please give it up for Group B." "That was so much fun." "Boy, if anybody left it all on the field tonight, it's you guys." "Wow, fuck me." "I always say, if you don't leave a pool of blood, sweat, and cum on the thing..." "Oh my god, Ian!" "You're not doing it right." "Oh my god, whoo!" "There's still another session after this, guys." "My mac and cheese just got here." "This is the best!" "Did you bring enough to share for the class?" "Julien, give me mac and cheese." "You got me my favorite thick and creamy, too." "Julien, I want it thick and creamy." Thank you guys so much for listening to today's episode. Obviously, there's a lot going on.
And as we reach the ending of arc two, I am anxious to see how Group B deals with this situation, because... It sounds like the bell... Yeah, that sounds like what we're going to be doing. And I just want to say, great fucking job, Group B. They did that live. All of the roleplay you just heard, they did that in front of 200+ people. Live, at Fairyathon. And they fucking brought it. Great job, everybody. Back our Kickstarter. There's no subtle segue here. Obviously, we still want the Kickstarter backed. All the characters you just heard, if you want to see them in the setting book, we need to get it.
We need to get the setting book. So you'll be able to see them represented with artistic prowess in the final book. And seriously, we just go back our Kickstarter. Again, one dollar, guys. There are bunches of tiers and stuff like that, but we can't tell you how much one dollar means. From all of our listeners, that would be a real problem solver. I think it's like a voting thing, where it's like, "Ah, my dollar doesn't count." No, it does! It does, it counts so much, you have no idea. And also, for those of you who have more than a dollar, we still have a lot of the really high, high, high tiers opened up.
Oh, jeez. We don't, actually. Oh, yeah, one of them closed. I think we have two left. Two left. We have The Fallen and The Royals are still open. If you want to know what those are all about, go check out our Kickstarter. I'm not going to give you the full pitch now, you listened to us at the beginning. But thank you guys so, so much. Please go check out the Kickstarter, get that free PDF at the very least, to see what we have to offer you all. Yep, again, 63 pages free. Laid out, illustrated, beautiful. By our lovely Jasper. Yep. Jason Permenter. I'm going to give him his full name this time.
Good. It was a professional endeavor. Dobby gets his full name, that's good. That's, that's... Um, thank you guys so much. We'll see you next week with a lovely brand new Group C. And, yeah, um, thank you guys for all your support. Dobby got a sock, by the way, not a full name. I know what he got! I saw the movies, those are the, those are the, uh... Bye, everybody! Yeah. Bye. Thank you.
