So please help us reach our goal. Help us publish this comic book and get it into your hands.
Spread the word, spread the link, let your family and friends know. And on top of that, we did a topic on GMT where we discussed a listener who was pretty upset, to be honest. And it had a lot to do with politics. The bottom line is we're here to distract you. And if our political talk has rubbed you the wrong way, we're sorry. That's not what we're here to do. We are people, though. We get just as frustrated as you. We get scared and anxious and all that stuff. And when we get together, we're just trying to make each other laugh to to just make each other feel better, brighten our days.
So if that bothered you, I'm sorry. We're trying to keep it in the behind the scenes stuff. And even then, minimally, I'm going to get out of your way. But first, we need to hear from our lovely sponsors. And then it's a brand new episode of the Gray. Don't go anywhere. We'll be right back. Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason. I'm the Dungeon Master. Starting out. OK, well, starting with Alex, I almost I almost rolled right into something from it's in our never mind. Go it, Alex. Hi, I'm Alex. I play Tobin, the tiefling monk.
Not anything that has to do with what we're talking about 10 minutes ago, which Jason was about to slip into. No, it's Alex is not a white supremacist. For those of you who want any letter of any kind of gang, you know, and that NSA. I am American citizen. Apple pie baseball. This is all the amendments, all of them, all of them, all none more than any of the others. All equally. Thank you. Bye. Vote for Rara. And Mandy. Oh, this is going well. Hi, guys. This is Mandy. I play Lee Argent, the human fighter. And Michael. Hey, I'm Michael and I play to come to the barbarian bard.
You play Babar. That's that's fantastic. It's like a rift. Bob Bob, the little elephant prince. Yeah, I haven't thought about Babar in forever. But bar would live on to war. And last and certainly not least, the leader, your fearless leader, the woman with a plan, has it all worked out and it's going to be all right. Karen. None of that is true. It's like when I call Susan a lawyer. She's got to be like, no, I legally have to tell you that. I was almost killed with a fictional sword in my own basement. I could have died. The ghost of Arthas. Guys, if you're sore, if you have replica swords and they have like a unit to mount them to the wall, just mount them to the wall.
Don't leave them laying up against like basement walls at the bottom of stairs where anybody could just fall and almost die. I play Duffing Gray. She's a little bit. Ooh, baby. All right. So we have a lot of potential things to get to today. We have an underground fighting ring to infiltrate. Perhaps we have a meeting with a line folk that's interested in your wares named Brigan. We have shops to visit there. We didn't get a chance to get into this in the last episode, but there is an independent manufacturer. In town, meaning these people supply, you know, weapon shops, armorsmiths, stuff like that.
And they are outside of the food chain, which means tactically you could cut out the middleman and make a deal with somebody to make weapons for you to sell to others. If the price was right, you were charming. But, you know, hey. What do you guys want to do? It is the third of Rangway. You've had a wonderful meal. You've sniped at each other. You've you've you've guilted Adelbert into buying things for your giant cat. Where do we go from here, guys? A lot. I realize there are so many side quests here in Witcher three. I mean, here's the thing. You're in a hub town, basically.
So like there's tons of stuff to do. And you guys came here to make coins. So it's all about it's all about, you know, getting out there and mingling. The boys did request like a day. Yeah, but it's nighttime, isn't it? I mean, it's it's look, there's still plenty of things to do in this town at night. Oh, OK. And it's almost the day of lust. Wouldn't be a good time if we were if we were sponsored by one of our former sponsors. Oh, man, it's not too late. It's not too late. And like a strategically placed shop. You can still use Mr. Toshi. I mean, yes. You know, yeah.
Yeah. Clean up after. Yeah. Like, yeah, that's fine. Well, if we're done eating, I think Tobin would tap tuck on the shoulder and kind of be like, like do the little like, you know, cousins at Thanksgiving dinner. Like, hey, let's go outside and smoke. But it's more like, hey, let's go outside and let's go. Let's go fight some people. Like you said, we would punch something. Yeah, let's go. That's a mischief. Excuse me. Not like this big old guy. Like just legally can not very simply. Can you do me a favor? Give me a wisdom check. This is kind of to simulate streetwise, basically.
I know. I know. But a wisdom check. We have to go through the motions. OK. Oh, shit. That would have been. Oh, well, hey. Wow. You guys are best friends. This is great. Matching fours. Well, let's blame this on it being a new town and you don't know the customs here. But you do get yourself a coin that's going to get you into this fight. But these roles are so bad that. I feel like you guys get lost several times because, of course, this is an underground fighting ring. You know, they're not going to be at the end of the block. So kind of like in Wayne's world, where they have the backstage passes, you just walk up to everybody.
It's like, huh? Huh? Huh? With the coin just as it's like, where do I go with this? Where do I go with this? Where do I get? So half the town knows about you trying to find this place before you get there. And then eventually someone's kind enough. It's like, dude, put it away. Down the block. There's a place. It's an abandoned building. Go down the stairs. And there's a big, big basement type area. Just God, put it away. Stop. Be cool. Like that type of thing. Oh, man, we're uncool now. Not uncool. Just, you know. Not chill. Just pretty dark. Right. I think we were very successful.
We are like the best. I mean, you found it. No problems. Easy. I really want to work on a full fledged boxing system. But right now, let's run this as kind of a city activity. Right. So I'm going to tell you what you need and we're going to go from there. So here's how this works. We're going to treat this as kind of a downtime activity. Each of you are going to have to put in 50 gold. Oh, that's your that's your entry fee. I have money. What? We have no money. Mine says zero on the sheet. And the sheet I have zero monies. We got paid as we were leaving. I mean, yeah, I have zero money to chase it.
My boss never put in direct deposit. I gave her the information. Oh, I don't think your withholding was right. You absolutely have money. Let's let's get this aside. I can't claim Tuck as a dependent. I believe you have 250 gold each. Yeah, because you took the deal. Remember, you guys took. Oh, yeah, that will do. Yeah. Yeah. Give yourselves give yourselves some coins. Thank you, master. Yep. Two hundred fifty. So you pay fifty into this damn thing? Yeah. OK. There's nothing to earn if you're not risking anything, man. So this is this is like a small tournament, right?
Bunch of tough guys. You know, they're they're they're a bunch of tough guys and gals that are down there in this sweaty basement fight club style. And they're just going to wail on each other. Right. Although the rules are a little looser on Talor than they are in like on Alara, let's say, because they could legitimately hold this outside and no one would give a shit. But this is just to kind of keep out the riffraff so they don't have grifters come through. Right. You you have to go past you. You ante up right away. They have your money. So if you bail, I don't care.
Like we have your money. It's fine. So here's how this is going to work. You're going to get three fights each. The more fights you win, obviously, the better it is for you. The more you lose. Well, that's bad, obviously. But if you were to lose all three fights, you're going to walk away with some sort of wrinkle and probably an injury. If you were to win all three fights, you're going to be invited to a much larger, much larger, more vicious tournament with higher stakes. So who would like to go first? Oh, I think once Tobin and Tuck pay their money, Tobin looks to Tuck, looks at the ring and gives them the old like bow hands forward like, please, I guess.
Grins just abound. All right. This is your OK. You fought before, like, I mean, you fought some chickens. This is your first chance to be a badass. Like, it was badass at times, but a different type of badass, right? Like badass. Read you better than anyone else. Pull that scrying contract contest words. I can't. So you're going to make a series of checks, right? And the DC is going to be based kind of randomly. So each fighter that comes up, they're going to they're going to have to roll for their stats basically on the fly. And that'll be their check. So we're going to test your athletics, your acrobatics and your insight, basically.
So this is your ability to think on the fly and kind of move. This is obviously your ability to swing and hit. But it's it's it's also your ability to keep up with your opponent and read them. So I'm sorry, you didn't say strength. Well, athletics like strengths in there. So here's what we're going to do. Right. I'm going to roll for your your opponent. Here we go. So. These will basically be your your three checks and then that'll be your three fights. So two d10s plus five. And that'll be your first opponent. Oh, 10. So give me an athletics check. OK. Athletics.
Wow. First of all, well, that's an 11. I would like to add that it was on the line on my. Did you see that? Yeah, it was. And it was like, you know what? I'm going to take the eight. You go, player. Like, look, you don't want to flex it out in the first run. You're going to lull them into a false sense of security. I like it. So, OK, you've won your first fight by one. Let's see what your next opponent's packing. 17. OK. Give me an acrobatics check. Oh, 15. So that's close, but not quite. So you're one in one. And then finally. Give me that's an 18. Give me an insight check.
Just just so everyone knows. OK. The best I can do is tie with him. Oh, God. OK. But I won't. OK. No, that's not a tie. So here's the thing. You won your money back, basically, right? Like it's a brand new they have a different fighting style. It's all capoeira. Who knows? But like it's all it's all like it's like just hit me. Just like what are you doing? Dancing around like it's just you weren't ready for this. So you got one Tobin. You're up. OK, you got this. I want to give Tuck like a high five as he comes out of this last fight with, I assume, a swollen lip and a black eye.
That's no big deal, buddy. I've never seen anyone move like that before either. That's that's a little strange. All right. Are you ready? Yes. And, oh, God, give me an athletics check and try to beat an eight. I hope I can. Oh, my God. Please don't do this to me right now, please. Of course. Of course. Big four coming in. That's OK. These next two. That's your that's that's that's that's going to be your time, obviously. Oh, boy, howdy. Nineteen. Can you give me an acrobatics check? And. Oh, honey, hey. All right. So you've won your money back. That's great. That's good.
Yeah. Now let's now let's really ratchet it up. Insight, you've got to beat 11 or higher. Hey, fantastic. That's a 17. So you have won two hundred and fifty gold. Oh, oh, yeah. And you're kind of starting to make a name for yourself. It's like, all right. All right. There's a couple of guys like eyeing you up, right? It's like, oh, OK. Could you do me a favor and give me a D6? Quatro for. OK. There's a guy named Paolo. I think I have an uncle named Paolo. Oh, cool. So Paolo uses capoeira. Shit. And this guy is an Adonis. He walks up to you long flowing hair, glistening.
He doesn't sweat. He glistens. Tan skin. He's going to walk up. How dare you? You walk into my club and you defeat me. Like you deserve to defeat me. I will have my vengeance upon you. This I swear. And he just like he just kind of like backs up like comically. So like he's in fucking Zoolander, like he just kind of like fades back and like he's going to walk back up the stairs, but make eye contact the entire time. Tobin, I assume is sitting next to Tuck, has a cup in his hand, looks at Tuck. Did I fight that guy? I don't know. I don't know. They all look the same, right?
I mean, whatever. Wait, is that an invite to the next one? Tobin looks up the steps back, Tuck. No, I think he generally is not happy with losing. But anyways, I'm going to give Tuck half of my 250. Damn. Because we are partners. We work together. I'll give you 25. No, no, I'll give him the full. I'll give him the full. I'll give him, what is it? Like 150 divided by two is going to be. That's not 125. 250 divided by two. But you should take your original 50 fold out of it. Just give him $100. This is why she's the boss. Don't lose your investment, man. I'll hand it to Tuck and I'll be like, you got a bad beat, pal.
Usually I thought that they were going to partner us up for this, but I guess it would be too much for these guys. Yeah, I just forgot to stretch. Oh, of course. Yeah, of course, man. Any other day, you would have had these guys. Yeah, we've been on the boat for so long. I just need to stretch ahead, you know. Yeah, you know, we got to take orders. Yeah. Yeah, there was a lag. There are two major things. If there was a mini map, there'd be two big old exclamation points, right, for quests. One would be to meet up with Brigand, right? He's a big bad lion folk.
He is perhaps interested in buying some wares. You guys have wares to sell. And then, of course, there's the third party manufacturer, which is a team on the edge of town. Do you want to do one of those? Do you have something completely different in mind? What's tickling your fancies? When were we supposed to meet for Brigand? On the edge of town. And it was it's kind of loose, but like tonight would be fantastic. Like, sooner the better. You kind of got the idea. Is this all of us or is this just the captain and the first mate? Give me an insight check. Captain, I think the captain should give me an insight check.
Oh, yeah. Twenty. It might be a good idea to bring the boys. It might be good to have a posse. You're in a strange place. I mean, I paid for body guarding stuff. Oh, yeah. That's what I. Whoops. Is that what the contract said? No. The muscle, the hired muscle guys. Yeah. The official title is Meat Shield, but yeah, it's hidden in all like the small print. You can't even see that. And I just put it like a hoof print anyway. So it's not a big reader. He'll read stuff. But the minute he gets to like that paragraph, he just kind of glazes over it like, OK, yeah. That's how I read contracts.
That's what I'm saying. You guys read them. I just scroll to the bottom and accept. I literally have a 10 page contract sitting over there that I have to read and I have not yet. And the people are waiting on an answer. I'll explain it off the air. Yeah. Legal advisor Karen is not happy with that. I can see. We got to do taxes. I mean, legal, not a thing. We have a Kickstarter to sort through this year. Karen, it's going to be great. Tens of thousands of dollars. I can't wait to ask Jason where he's keeping all of his receipts and him go. A little bit there, a little bit over here.
Oh, receipts. You slay me. In the mattress like everybody else. Maybe like put your receipts in like one spot, like a file or just like move the emails to a file. I mean, no, I haven't. But maybe next year. Anywho. I'm deflecting. Yes. No, that's fine. That's fine. You're right. I'm just so sad. You're sad. You. Here's the thing. You don't know sadness until you stow away five grand for the IRS while sending them 300 every month, sitting down to do your taxes and still owing them four grand on top of that. That's sadness. Similar is very similar to me last year, but not in that amount.
It was like, oh, you paid us for the what you had last time. That's awesome. By the way. Yeah. And it's like, oh, please, sir, I want to buy food. Don't you think they should just like, oh, you've paid us this much so far. Maybe you should pay us more throughout the year instead of it being like, oh, we're going to keep it secret and then tell you. Yes. Oh, when it's wrong. I hate that. Yeah, that's another thing. Not to derail us, but the fact that like we know how much you owe us, but we're not going to tell you. Yeah. And so what? Huh? Don't make me guess. This is not the board game of life.
Yeah. Wow. Yeah. No, that did you feel this heavy air like like all over the. So insight 20. This is what you're. So you're going to get the sense that it's like, OK, it's probably good to bring some people as backup. You know, it can't hurt. You're almost positive that this, you know, this lion folk who is in Westport isn't just going to come by themselves. So why would you? That being said, is there a shop you want to go to? Do you want to go do that? Do you want to go to what what what is just. In your periphery that you really want to do. Does Delphine look like she wants to has any specific plans at the moment?
Not really. I thought I'd ask what she was going to do for the day. I thought I might do some window shopping. And it's evening. It's like dusk. It's going on evening. Yeah. OK. I think, you know, as soon as the boys leave and she kind of eyes them like, oh, no, let us hope they do not cause trouble. She will turn to Delphine and just kind of look at her as she kind of finishes up her drink. Boss, since we are new to this continent, really, and the city, I was thinking maybe we should do some research and information gathering. And the well, in all of my years, the best place I would always go to to find information are the brothels.
Do you have any objections? No, I mean, I didn't have anything planned. I thought maybe I would like look around, see the competition, as it were. But if you think we should learn a little bit more information about things, I'm down. I'm there. Well, it is still a little early. It's only dusk. Would you like to go look at the shops first and then maybe just stop by? So, so Lee's waiting for the talent to to arrive at the brothels like you're waiting for. You want the Saturday night game, not the Wednesday afternoon game. Of course. Got it. OK, now. I'd like to think of myself as a fair man.
Definitely not a sexist. So whatever brothel you choose to go to, we're going to objectify the hell out of somebody. So we will be rolling to see what the talent is this evening, whether you choose to go to the impressive bulge or thunder bosom. I forgot. Yeah, I forgot. No admiring bulge. The admired bulge. Yes, I'm sorry. They're right here in my notes in front of me. And I got. Yeah, I had them written down. I'm like, what are these words? I didn't write what they were. Did I have a stroke? So, yeah, we're definitely going to do that and then maybe get some art done based on.
So you're doing some window shopping, is there something is it clothing, food, tools? You know, what's if if if let's say this place were like a mall, what's what would you be after? Like, are you are you looking for like off work time attire type of thing? It's like, oh, man, there's some there's some nice new boots. I hate leaks. Let's you know, let's you know, something like that. Is it like what are you into? I think she'd probably be looking for like I mean, maybe jewelry, jewelry slash trinkets, like souvenir type things. Now, I have a few questions for that, and I know you're just you're just looking, looking, just looking.
Now, is this more of you're looking to impress others with your shiny bubbles? You're looking for something a bit more understated that just complements the neckline or your hands? Are you looking for something perhaps magic, something that does, you know, you know, I mean, sky's the limit. This place, let me tell you, this place is here to sell you things. Especially you guys are fresh off the boat. Holy shit. Like. Nothing gaudy. Of course, you don't want to go tacky. Nothing gaudy or tacky. No fake sequins. Probably something like simple. But if there is something magical, maybe.
OK, so something something a touch understated, but could stand out in the right outfit. And perhaps let me let me grab you a few things behind the counter. Sure. Mandy, what about you? Is Lee looking for anything? It might not be jewelry. It could be could be something a bit more practical. I think we would mostly be hanging around Delphine, just keeping an eye on her. But as a Delphine looks at like the shiny things, she will also keep an eye out because she does have a family back home to look for knickknacks to bring home. So, you know, shinies are good.
Maybe toys. OK. OK. I think I have a few things now. This is a small corner shop. Right. And these people have excellent security. Like there's only two people allowed in the store at any given time. There are very large bouncers standing outside and then two guards inside to keep an eye on you. These people have some pricey things, but very valuable. Right now, behind the counter, they have like the this glass top thing you can look. But then there's the stuff that's that's that's behind the behind the counter. And they're going to bring out this velvet tray and and sit it on top.
There's a couple of different things here. There's some rings. There's this. It's a rather large ring. It could probably more likely pass off as as man's jewelry, like a big. But it's got this stunningly bright ruby in it. This is on a velvet tray with magic items. Now, this is sitting next to this beautiful silver locket. The locket itself has a has a bit of an angular design. And if you open it up, there is a slot for like a like a picture, like a sketch, something like that. And the person behind the counter is going to tell you, it's like, OK, this ring I could part with for 500 gold.
And I can also engrave it for you if you like. But this does offer the wearer protection from excess heat and even fire itself. Now, this locket is very special. It's one of a kind. Now, if you were to have an artist in town, let's say sketch a likeness of someone that you care about, even if it's yourself, if you put it inside this locket and you attune yourself to this locket for one hour. If something bad were to happen to the person depicted in the locket, you could bring them back. One minute before the bad thing happened to them. Now, that is a five thousand dollar.
That is a five thousand gold necklace. But I assure you, you will not find another item in the world like it. Now, this is sitting next to a set of brass knuckles that are this gorgeous. They're called brass knuckles, but this is a gorgeous, polished silver like this is polished to the point where it reflects. It reflects the room. But on top of the brass knuckles, it is completely covered in diamonds. Now, this is this is also a magical this is also a magical item. So if you were to wear this, you get three charges a day that you could use this. If you were to punch something, you hit them with such force that you could throw them through walls.
And it's called the icy bitch. Now. Um. No. Oh, my God. That's for us. We're crazy. All that ice. That is that is also 500 gold, but every day, 500. But every day you get three new charges. And it is a great way to get someone away from you that is invading your personal space like that's how it's pitched. It's like, well, in these times, it's very important to social distance. So if you find that someone is a little too close for comfort, you can make them not that. I love everything. They have like I want all that, but also like. Do they have just like regular shit?
Yeah, like regular. OK, look, you know how shops work, you work at a shop. They bring out the big tray first just to see what you're working with. And then they have the regular stuff next to that on a slightly smaller tray. But there's some beautiful stuff there. And we're we're talking between the areas of 25 and 50 gold. But like this is high end stuff. This is actual jewels. Like not, you know, not costume jewelry. They're not thugs. Was it like one of those things that are like there's no price tag? They're like, well, if you have to ask that, you can't.
It's it's it's very pretty woman. It's yes. Good thing I have my best outfit on. It is so droll to talk about money. Like it's just it's it's so it's it's like, yes, I guess we could. If you want a good laugh like that type of thing, like, you know. I think we will look at this and just be out of her element and she would just be like shiny things. Wow. It means nothing to me. And she'll just kind of lean over to the boss. Boss, the other things look a little pricey for me, but do you have any suggestions about what, you know, a little bit of older woman might like?
I have no clue here. That would be the icy bitch. I mean, yes, but also I could see a Dame Judi Dench wearing it like I can see. Hell yes. Yeah. Maybe a locket, but not this one. Yes. Well, well, very nice. And she's just like voice cracks just because she she's thinking about five thousand away. Oh my God. Maybe something a little simpler, a little less overstated, a little classic. And she'll actually like point to another one that's like just like normal. She'll nod and just look to the salesman. How much for what she is pointed at. Is this for a loved one?
Perhaps a mother, grandmother or something like that? It's for my wife. My apologies. You looked too young to have a wife. So she's going to bring out it's like this piece is only 15 gold, but it is an absolute steal for that. It is this beautiful, like a very understated gold chain, but it is woven in such a way that. It looks like it's several golden strands, like like braided together. It's elven in design and you simply can't get this kind of craftsmanship on to lower currently. And she'll look at it and they kind of look at Delphine just like to get the OK.
And then she'll say, she'll nod. Yes, please wrap it up for me. Absolutely. There is one more necklace here that is of of such refined taste. It is 100 gold. It is a beautiful sapphire pendant. That gives you a plus two. Two persuasion checks. In any any type of friendly kind of situation, whether it be at parties, perhaps business meetings, something like that, it just gives the user an air of confidence. Happy last day, everybody. There's a whole other shop for that. Those those last minute last day gifts. Is it like a pop up? It's kind of like a spirit Halloween.
It's kind of. Yeah. You know what I mean? But like instead of. Well, I mean, there are costumes, but I mean, there's other stuff there, too. Like there's costumes aren't the largest section of the shop. No, no, no, no, no. Delphine's going to be real chill. Real chill. Gonna take that locket. I'm also thinking. I'm scheming. I think I'm also going to buy the brass knuckles. I'm going to get them. Going to do it and I'll just pay for all of it. Yeah, I want the icy bitch. OK. Do you want to wear it out of the store or would you like me to package it for you? I'll take the necklace and then the rest can be packaged.
Excellent. It comes in its own custom made box. You'll love it. He's marking this down. Of course. Is it lined with like that, like velvet or whatever? So that's getting all the cat hairs attached to it. It is. Oh, yes. So it's it's it's a little clamshell case, but it looks like it holds a batarang basically like it just you know, it's it's oh, it's wonderful. There's also. Oh, sorry, I'm going to say and like if there's like some like just simple like silver chains bracelets. I just want a couple of those, too. Oh, like kind of a bangles type of thing. Yeah.
OK. On it. OK. You know what? He's going to throw those in for free. It's like a it's like a 20 gold type of thing. Like these are these are nice pieces, but it's like, you know what? You're new. We want you to to come back and shop with us again. Of course. There's a private showroom that we might be able to show you to next time. That's where we keep the good stuff. This wasn't the good stuff, guys. No, there's there's you're you're telling me a pendant that resurrects someone minutes before their death is not the good stuff. No. Westport ball, Natick and Grove.
There's there's there's a vault. There's yeah. No, there's there's a knock on shopping guys. I could have done the elves. No. Is this too much like real life? Is this not fantasy anymore? Like I want to know. I love this. I love I love your jewelry salesperson. It's 100 percent real. That's the real part. I love this. Oh, is this for somebody else? I was like, they're going to ask if you want it fucking engraved. Yeah. And you're going to ask about that like payment card. They've got you sign up for a credit card. You get 20 percent off. Have the sales card on the lower card.
I miss my calling. Next month, we get a BOGO special, so I better come back. They give you a fucking receipt that's only good for the next three weeks. That's like a. Oh, man. I only on Saturdays. Yeah. But not during lunch. So the icy bitch is a lovely object to keep and say a baggy pocket like like like a jacket pocket, something like that. Just just in case there's like there's some trouble. You know, you slip your hand in there. No one can have like an inside breast pocket or something. Well, the only problem is, if you're going to reach like it's it's you know, I mean, it's it's like, oh, shit.
They're grabbing a weapon. But it's just like, oh, I could be grabbing a Werther's or something like that, you know, depending on like, you know, how you're dressed. If it's like a like it's it's a chilly night. You got kind of a baggy cardigan thing going on. I don't know. She's a cleric. Her captain's a cleric. So she's always got that heavy ass armor on. We're under the weather. Interesting. I have a strength score of like five, Alex. So you're clear. I can wear heavy armor. So all of us, all of our Achilles heels are like things that we should have. Not like normally we should not have these things.
So I don't want to like I don't want to tempt you. But let's say that you do make some sort of deal here as a celebration. There is an armorsmith down the way that boasts some wonderful things. That's for later. We'll get into it later. But. How much money do I owe here? Wait. Oh, so that's a burp. So, OK, you bought the icy bitch, which is a lovely 500 gold piece, and you wanted the hundred gold. The hundred gold necklace. So that is six hundred gold in total. But you get the bangles for free. We get that. Are you so let me ask you a question. Are you dipping in with the company card on this?
You are OK. Absolutely. I knew it. I knew it. Daddy's money. OK. They I think they call that embezzling, but I'm not sure. I don't know what it's a business expense because I'm not using the brass knuckles. Oh, OK. OK. OK. I mean, if you OK. Look, if you want to file that under security or something like that, like that's, you know. All right. Don't don't throw my terms back at me. I just realized we're the Silicon Valley of DNR. Do we get any miles with our boat? So. What's next, guys? Maybe it's time for you to make some money. I don't want to be so bold as to tell you your business, but you've been doing a lot of spending.
I mean, I've made money. I'm net positive. That's actually true. You know what? You're doing your part. I have no idea that our captain is embezzling, but that's that's like it's an investment into our future, guys. It's funny that every great CEO there like Theranos, the lady from Theranos, I'll be on the credit card. I'll pay it off next month. It's fine. Mm hmm. What's the guy's name? Billy, who did the Fyre Festival? Like he was he was that guy who. Yeah. And that's even Ja Rule. Yeah. Which would make the your job. Yeah, at least our Ja Rule. Yeah. How late are the boys doing their fight thing?
I think by the time you guys are done browsing and stuff, I think they're probably wrapping up around the same time. I think at least Tobin after they're done with the fight, you'd like tell Tuck that after a few drinks, they go back to the ship like we thought we we've scouted out our our normal haunts in the city. We have like some some good reference points for later on. So we probably head back to the boat. At least I would. I don't have Tuck has other stuff he wants to do. I just want to know if we made note of anywhere where like gaming would happen, like betting.
Oh, oh, well, yeah. Well, OK. There are a couple of tiers of of betting, right? There's the more reputable like, oh, play a hand cards. There's games a chance, stuff like that. Now, it's obviously not up to like like an own a call standard where there's like a refined casino thing. So you got you got that level. And then below that, you have the more offsite type of thing. It's a little less reputable, which would be more your fighting pet, your different stuff like that. And then below that. The stakes get much higher and the rules get much blurrier. So is this more like, oh, I want to play I want to I want to play blackjack or something like that, or it's like, no, I need to feel alive.
I need to snuff the light out in someone else's eyes to feel like, is it what are we going for here? Well, I think Tuck doesn't really understand the rules in those higher places. We've never been able to actually successfully complete the game in any of them. So it's more of like things where it can be a little shady. And if he was a little shady with some partner, it's less of a problem unless you really get caught and they get really mad because there's a good chance that just about everyone else is doing the same damn thing. Oh, sure. Oh, sure. This is kind of a place.
So this is off the main strip, let's say. So you guys are near an abandoned barn on the outskirts of town. Right. And on the out on the outside, it looks like they're having some sort of dance, right? There's live music, there's a band playing all that stuff. Someone throwing up dancing lights. So it's just like a strobes. So that's going on. And this is a great place to network if you're a scumbag. Just a great just you will make connections. So what I need both of you to do is roll a flat D 20. And I'm going to tell you what opportunities present themselves here.
Why? Okay, to car. Let's start with you. Okay. So someone's going to walk up to you and just just kind of like, are you there? They're, they're, they're shorter than you. They're, they're kind of like, all right, you're a big boy. Okay. What do you reflexes like? Would you say that you're fast? Yeah. You pack a bunch, right? And I like, stroke my arm. Yeah, I've been known to. Okay. Okay. Do you want to make some quick money? Yes, like, looking for like the trick. Right. All right. This is between you and me. I'm a wealthy businessman in this town, and I have a reputation to uphold.
Now, there is a woman on the opposite side of this barn, who at this very moment is picking out her own champion to fight. I need you to beat her champion. Now, there is a significant amount of money in this for you if you can do that. Of course, for each round you lose, you lose a finger, but that's just part of the game. It's the ante, let's say. And don't worry, she'll lose fingers too. I figure like, talk to people looking at it and it's like, one, two, three, four. The game, the game is simple. You just need to be faster and stronger than your opponent.
And for every round you win, they lose a finger. And for every round you win, you get 250 gold. Do I get to pick the finger? Oh, as long as it's a finger, I don't care. I'll level with you. This isn't about money for us, it's about pain. They just want to cause pain to someone that I've chosen and vice versa. I don't know what rapscallion that she's chosen in this establishment, but you. You have a winner written all over you. I can see it. So I just rolled to see what my answer was going to be. So what's going to happen is in my head, my bardic primary teacher of past talks about how you don't want to get into anything that would cause you to not be able to do your job.
Not be able to do your next trick. So. Things have scenes where he's been stopped for making such a deal to find a different one, so he's actually going to decline this one. Like not. I was told not to do these this kind other ones, other ones. Yes. Got to save them for the next one. I appreciate that you. You were tempted by a small amount of money. I'll tell you what. Here's my card. I will be in town for the next week. I want you to hit me up at some point. Give me three days. And I think I have something much, much more engaging for someone. So. And he's going to kind of like rub his hands on your chest.
Intelligent as yourself. Stroking my ego, among other things. Thank you. Thank you. And I'll like wave the card in front of it. Look, next opportunity. See, you don't do the first one. Tobin looks at Tuck. Back to the guy walking away. He just like, he broke your chest. You don't think he has like a disease, do you? No, no, I'm just OK. Tobin keeps looking back and forth. Man, Westport is just. That's a lot different than I remember. And he's going to catch himself for a second and go, oh, what's that? What does that card say? It was a game of fingers. And I said, no.
Then he gave me a card and said three days. Even better. Tuck, you know, we're kind of employed already. I don't think we can have two bosses. I don't want to get yelled at twice. I think it was just to hurt someone. Oh, like a one time thing? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Although, although if I would have lost fingers, I pulled the pan flute. Sidious would probably not like that. Don't think I forgot about Tobin. Oops. This is a good thing. It's 11 is not necessarily great. Look, 11 is what you make of it. Vomits. A very mysterious woman is going to tap Tobin on the shoulder and she's wearing this this very large hood kind of pulled down over her eyes.
She looks to be maybe half elf, if you had to guess. Excuse me. Do you have a moment? I would think Tobin's still talking to talk. He turns around. Oh, sorry. Excuse me. Yeah. Yeah. He kind of looks around back to the woman. Am I am I right to assume that you two are a team? You work together? It'll look to Tuck. Yeah. My my associate and I, we were partners. We've worked in a multitude of industries, quote, he'll use air quotes. We're currently on loan. We were part of a small consortium, if you will. And he has this like really kind of shit eating grin when he says it.
But we're we're open to short term contracts. It's a little too public to talk here. Can I ask you to join me outside around the back? Tobin looks to Tuck very closely. And I like what do you like, given the look, like, should we go outside? He'll literally shrug. What do you think would happen? Literally not aware of the million things that could happen, but like, what are they going to do? Yeah. Oh, hold on. Sure. Yeah. Sounds fine. Just lead the way. She's going to go outside and lead you guys away. And that music is going to fade until it's just kind of like you can you can definitely feel the bass and stuff, but, you know, it's kind of dampened by the walls.
And she's going to crouch down behind this old hay bale. And she's going to ask you both to to get down to and she's going to drop her voice down to a whisper. All right. I'm only in town for a couple of days and I have a job to do, but some complications have arose and well, I. I need partners as much as it pains me to say now I have been paid in advance and I can offer you a third of my payment if you can help me with this. But. Discretion is key. And. I am going to need a favor for you that I am willing to pay for. Do you have a ship by any chance? Tobin strokes chin a little bit, doesn't look at Tuck, and he says.
We're part of a crew, but we don't. We're not the ones in charge. If if the amount was enough, we could speak to our captain. She's going to kind of ponder this. Normally, I would just cut ties here. Too many people involved, but. You two look. Like you're the right people for this particular job. However, if we do this, it's imperative that we leave town immediately after and get a good distance away to be honest. Tobin's going to like kind of. Tilt his head a little get away. You mean away from Westport or away from to lure? What do you at the very least Westport just leave town for for awhile?
Tobin leans back a little. Looks to Tuck. Kind of says. Well, I'm not one to draw plans. That's never been my style. I'm more of a moves his hands a little bit free flowing type thinker, but. I'd say you can at least talk to our captain about this. It seems we're in town. We're attempting to make some deals and some contacts. And if you have the coin. And we're pretty reputable and in this deal and things and that. OK, I don't see any issues here. I actually see it as a win win. How does 10000 gold sound? Tobin doesn't even think. Yeah, I think that matches what we're looking for in terms of making good contacts and he'll look to talk kind of nodding at the same time.
Do either of you have any experience with? Breaking and entering. Tobin tilts his like kind of shakes his head left and right, like tilting it a little bit like thinking. Yeah, I I I've done it for survival purposes and he looks at talk. What about you, big guy? Yeah, it was the other mastery skill that Sidious was teaching me. All right. All right. I think we can work together, but. This job absolutely positively has to be pulled off tomorrow night. We have an hour window to do this. It's the only chance we're going to get. I can offer you 10000 upfront plus 2000 for a ride away from this place.
And I'm going to be fencing some things that are in the shop and you can have 50 percent of that. Yeah. All of what you're saying sounds great. I'm not going to try and sugarcoat it. I'm very excited about this. This is a small thing I'm kind of missing here. What are you going to do? What do you need us to do? Like we're not that I mean, like I mentioned, I'm kind of free form, but this is more of jumping off a clip and someone telling you you're going to end up flying at the end of it. This is not exactly thought through. I'm sorry, I couldn't exactly be forthright with information until I knew that you were on board.
I'm going to need some muscle and she's she's going to kind of gesture to talk. And I'm also going to need someone limber life enough to be able to sneak into this place and grab a few items within the time frame that we need without alerting anyone. So just a bit stand up just to be clear. This is a very quiet grab from somebody here at Westport. He looks down the like, I guess we're in an alleyway, right? So he'll look down the alleyway back towards the street. Is this are you robbing someone important to someone we should be wary about? I know you're trying to get away from here, but I want to know.
Collateral damage. These are objects worth a great deal of money. And whenever you're dealing with a great deal of money, you're dealing most likely with a great deal of security. And these people are not going to let their valuables go without retribution. There's a small jewelry store on the edge of town. And there's a vault in the back of the store that houses some one of a kind artifacts. I have been hired by an unnamed third party. To grab as many of these artifacts as possible. This could make you and your partner and your captain. A great amount of money.
For an hour's worth of work. He'll think about it. Okay, a little bit more thought out than I thought it would be. Obviously because Alex knows nothing about that jewelry shop. Tobin's going to speak up again. So you said 10,000 up front, but what's to... I mean, not saying this will happen, but what's to prevent my friend and I from getting the money and then crushing your skull when we're done, when we have the money? No, he puts his hands up. Not saying I'll do that or that he'll do that. That's a lot of money to talk about up front and give up front.
Oh, of course. Like I just said, whenever you're dealing with a large amount of money, you're dealing with someone who's not willing to let that go without a fight. I will be infecting you with a disease that you will get the cure to as soon as we pull off this job. Tobin's expression changes very slightly, but it changes. And she's going to hold up, of course. I'm not the type to double-cross anyone. I am a woman of my word. And you will feel no ill effects. At least not within the timeframe of this job. He'll nod. Okay. It feels like we're dealing with some very unstable parts here.
His eyes get a little wide when he says this. I enjoy a heist as much as the next person. Being infected with something that I don't know what it is and what it can do, even with the assurances given, seems a little counterintuitive to my liking. Look, I want to do this. He'll put his head down a little bit. This is right up my alley. And I know Tuck and I have been just itching for a chance to crack some skulls legitimately. The fighting pits here in town have not been that fun, I can tell you that. But I think this is something we're going to have to talk to with our captain and the first mate.
This isn't something you can do lightly on the authority of two handsome bodyguards. I completely understand your subordinates. You have someone to answer to. I would prefer to work with someone who wants to harness their own destiny and be their own men. But I completely understand if you need to ask permission. Tobin, using one of his tiefling canines, kind of bites his lip aggressively and says, "Yeah, yeah, I think that'll do it. Tuck, don't we have somewhere to be right now?" He's going to kind of back up, get up from the crouching position slowly, because I assume we're all still crouched behind a crate.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And he'll look at Tuck, and if Tuck gets up, he'll look back. Oh, yeah, he gets up. He said "disease" and he literally said it like a little bit ago. He's kind of like keeping it. Well... Tobin's going to back up slowly. Good luck with finding people of strength and reputation, or not either of those, to get this job done. As a continuation of the code of conduct for us scumbags, I won't be telling anyone about this. I hope you don't tell anyone about us. And he looks to Tuck. Good night, ma'am. She'll reach a hand out to shake.
Oh, he'll back up, put his hands up as he's backing up. I mean, he sticks out an elbow instead, like "I'll give you this." There's going to be this wide smile that kind of crosses her face. "You two take care." And she's just going to kind of back up a few paces, but keep eye contact, and then sort of walk back toward the front here, where there are lots of people. When she's out of earshot, Tobin sighs, lets out the air, rubs his face. Holy shit, Tuck. These are not like the games in Brightport. No, this is not a game. This lady was going to probably kill us in this alleyway if things went south, and probably kill us after we did the job anyways.
He's just doing that emoji grimacing face, like "Ugh." There are a lot of things said that I don't know, but disease is like "Mmm." Sometimes, Tuck, I'm going to be honest with you, when I talk, I don't know what the hell I'm saying. Things just come out and I just go with it. But I think it's time to go back to the boat, buddy. Yeah, it's easier to go into another place when you have the authority of one of the other houses. I don't think they have a housing thing here. It was easier. Yeah, I haven't seen anybody who's like "Oh, I'm in charge." None of that stuff here.
I mean, maybe it's because we don't know that much about this place yet. And he'll kind of give Tuck a little side-eye when he says that. Yeah, let's keep going. Let's get out of here. Maybe Delphine knows the people now. Yeah, maybe they've been actually doing the job we were supposed to be doing. Ah, but we're on break. Is it? They are. They're safe. Nothing happens, right? Yeah, they're fine. I mean, there's no chickens that'll turn into stone in town, I don't think. I hope so. Like, I was visibly worried. It's very heavy. So, you guys have had a chance to sort of explore the city, get a taste of the local flavor.
It's a little spicy, but you guys can handle it, I'm sure. What is next for you? Like, what do you want to do? How would you round out the evening? You've networked a little bit. You now have a couple of contacts. I know Tobin said to go back to the boat. I don't know if Tuck followed him, but probably Tobin would be heading back to the boat. He's done city-slicking. Yeah, follow. Yeah, I imagine you guys reconvene. Like, the ship is home base, right? So, like, you guys probably go back, get your bearings, meet up with each other. But then... I think Delvein would be like, you guys want to...
I think maybe we should meet up with that group of lion food tonight, just to see what the dealio is. Yeah. And then we can just kind of go from there. Sounds good to me. Maybe we'll make a good deal and have a relaxing night. Whatever you say, Captain. Do you have an estimate for how much the weapons would go for? Market price? Well, we discussed that you have 500 decent spears and 200 pretty darn good longbows. So... Market value? You'd probably make... I mean, somewhere in the area of four to five thousand, if you sold everything and, you know, you... That would get you enough to reinvest and, you know, diversify, whatever you chose to do.
Now, that being said... It's all about supply and demand. Supply is low here. Demand is high. So it's what you guys can negotiate in terms of, you know, their need versus your wares. Now, I assume you're bringing... you're bringing samples, right? Yeah, probably bring like one or two. OK. I'll carry them. Yeah. Can we do that thing where we put it in like a chest or something? We set the chest down and we're like... Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now, OK, let me ask you a question. Are you... How do I put this? Are you grabbing weapons that are indicative of the quality of the bulk of the product?
Or are you trying to get them to believe that you have better stuff than you have? Are you trying to bluff them? No, because I don't want angry lionfolk coming after me. You know what? That's good reasoning. I think what she'd do is probably select like a couple average of the group and then maybe a couple of like the nicer make of them. They can be like, oh, most of them are this, but there are a few really, really nice ones in there. OK. Get a little bit of a spectrum. So you're going to go to the outskirts of Westport. So you're going to be going to be traveling a bit and housing and businesses get fewer and further between.
And then you basically get to the area where, like, they were having that weird abandoned barn party thing. And then you go beyond that to the let's call it the no witnesses portion of. Sure. So you're going to see a lone building. This looks to be like an abandoned residence, right? Kind of rickety borders falling off of stuff. The shutters are just hanging off by like one hinge. And you're going to see a couple of large men standing outside. And they are definitely standing guard. And the second they see you, they're going to they're going to start eyeing you up.
Like it's like, OK, are you are you the people we're waiting for? You just like look, you lose that we have to shoo away. And you could see inside the house that the door is wide open. There is both a male and female lionfolk inside. And they're discussing something tersely like they are. It might not be arguing, but they definitely disagree. And one of the one of the line folk outside are going to stop just, you know, and everyone's going to look at you as you approach. Now, one of these one of these men are going to step forward. What's your business here?
Daphne is just going to say we are here to speak to Brigan. We heard that he was looking for a business deal. Or they. I don't remember if it was a girl or a guy. That's a terrible start. Sorry. No, no. So that they're going to kind of like squint, just kind of like eyeing you up still. It's like. All right. And he's going to kind of wave his hands like, all right, inside. So I imagine you walk in, there's like a little there's like a rickety old table, kind of wobbles, probably. Someone had to jam a book on the other side of it at one point to make it stop.
You guys can set your your set your case up there. And it's like, OK, you get the stuff that's right. But it's a real clandestine meeting type of thing. This female line folk. Is going to I to car. And if she could stab him with a look. She would do that. She is watching him like it's like, all right, big boy, we can have a problem type of thing. She's probably about four or five inches shorter than him, but still big as hell. Like they're beefy, right? What would you say after you? You're free to speak to. But what would who would who would introduce themselves?
Could I roll an insight to see if I even notice that she's doing that? Like, I just want to know where I am. Of course. I think it stands next to the captain, but like doesn't talk. Oh, you notice that? Yeah, yeah, yeah. There is this. You're guessing this is this is Brigitte standing next to her. There is a a large kind of a dirty brown furred lion folk, big, majestic mane. Right. This like like think 80s hairband amounts of feathered and like like just like just flowing. And this dude looks like he has zero patience. Right. And he is eyeing you like you are disgusting.
Like just it's like, OK, look, we all know why you're here. And he's going to he's going to kind of like motion to the case. Open it. Sorry. Very rude. Dolphine is just going to say, usually I introduce myself first, but here you go. I'll open it for you. Does he have any tact? No. So here's. I want to see if you're wasting our time first. And if you open it, you're going to show off some wares. And there's kind of that begrudging like. All right, fine. You do have stuff. And how many are you offering? Did we bring both longbows and? Yeah, I think you brought a little bit of everything, right?
You just. Yeah, I guess I had it in my brain that they were only interested in the longbows, but she'll just she'll tell them we have, you know, 500 spears and 200 longbows. He's going to pull that female line from the side. Yeah. Just just kind of just they're just kind of like whispering to each other, talking. We're going to need more. How long will you be on the island? Make it up. Now's the time to pick, Captain. I think the plan is to be here for about a week. How soon are you looking for more? Oh, let's see what he thinks. OK. And after a week, I assume you're going to seek other business opportunities, perhaps our rivals to the south.
Please don't mistake me. I think you're scum. You've come here to profit off of a war that you don't understand. I can offer you 3000 gold for the lot of what you have now. And I can offer you more if you can get us double within the next week. I think we is going to close the chest of weapons and just stand strong and, you know, as tall as you can. And, you know, against these giant, much more giant land folk and just stare at him in the eyes. Sir, you have been nothing but disrespectful to my boss and to us the entire time we have been here. You propose a completely terrible deal and you want us to continue to deal with you and provide you more.
I think this time to go just makes to, you know, take the chest and leave. So you're doing the the walking out of the used car dealership thing you're doing, you're playing the card. Yeah. All right. The car goes for the chest thinking, oh, OK. Before you leave, the two guards that are standing outside are going to kind of scooch in to kind of, you know, just kind of block the doorway a bit. Could I get a persuasion check from you, Mandy? Hey, it's not your constitution. No, it's like a persuasion. This is. Oh, holy shit. OK, you want to create. The female line folk is going to speak up.
Wait, I feel as though we may have gotten off on the wrong foot here. Let's all take a breath. I believe we all want the same things. And she's kind of like looking at brigands like just don't be an asshole. You know, like I get it. These people are garbage. But let's not like, you know, perhaps we can come to some other arrangement. You mentioned that you'd be here for a week. Do you have access to more weapons, armor, things of this nature? We didn't come here for a one time deal. May I ask if you have. She's going to look back to bring in other appointments in the area.
At the moment, no, not for selling. But for purchase. Perhaps we are setting up a supply line. We have had poor experience with weapons vendors such as yourself. We find them to be. Less than worth their word. If we could establish some form of trust with your group, perhaps a more long term friendship could be in the cards. Would you be open to such an agreement? Well, it depends on your attitudes from now on and your gold, of course. She's OK at the word attitude. You're going to hear a low rumble from from bringing in. She's like that. He oh, my God, he almost speaks.
He almost he almost like you could tell he's like mid sentence. It's like that. Of course. I apologize for my brother's outburst. We are dealing with. Quite a difficult time. Weapons and armor are of the utmost importance. If we could secure a biweekly delivery from you and ensure that you don't deliver to anyone else. On the island. We would be more than willing to pay our fair share. Now, what would you normally charge? For your complete stock at the moment. Well. We are looking to get about 7000. Honestly, that's not bad. That's good. What's the point? Demand.
So again, low rumble. Are you insane? That time she doesn't cut him off in time and just kind of like punches this this little table that the little case is going to hop up a little bit. Do you really expect us to pay 7000 gold for these? Adequate spears. Do you really expect us to do exclusive contracts with only you? I mean, that's fair. That's fair. That's fair. Give me a persuasion check. With a plus two. With a plus two. Yes. Yeah. You were waiting for it. Oh, wait, that was the wrong thing. I'm sorry. Oh, it's just use it because it's a national. My purse. Okay, but my position was only a plus six.
It was really only a 28 instead of a 29. So I mean. She's going to put a hand on on Britain's arm because he's just like clenched at this point. It's like these fucking these rat bastards like you. Oh my God. Like he hates you. Like he like to your soul. He hates you. And she's going to give me a sec. My name is Keller. Again. I think we can work something out if you can promise us. Exclusive trade with your weapons and armor. You can't expect us to have this contract forever. How about we set a limit and provided the gold is good. Your attitudes and you show respect.
We can perhaps go for a month and extend longer. Could you do me a favor? Roll perception check. Perception. Yes, please. Okay. Oh, come on. Oh, you. Ten's fine. Ten's good. As you are speaking. There's this noise. And at first you think it's maybe like insects or something like it's like a like. Almost a like a buzzing, a skittering, a screeching. And you're gonna look down at the table and notice that brigands hand is just digging in to the wood and you're going to watch strips of wood curl up as he like. We don't care. No, I'm just. He's going to storm out of this room.
He cannot take another second of you people and he's going to walk outside just to get like, just. Oh, God. We will just be like, just watch and then just look at him. I think we would prefer to deal exclusive with exclusively with you. Honestly, he he's your leader. Really? Really? My brother is under extraordinary pressure right now. And if you wish for us to treat you with respect, I would hope you would offer the same. How about this? We can offer you 6000 today if you promise to bring the weapons to this spot no later than tomorrow afternoon. After that, a biweekly delivery of whatever you have.
And we can offer one point five times their market value. If you bring us rarer, more powerful objects, I assure you, we have the coin to purchase them from you. As long as this contract is exclusive. Then I think we can enjoy a long and prosperous friendship. I think that that will be sufficient. We nods to just behind the boss. Yeah. Just marking that down, I'm sure we all are. Mm hmm. There people will send you a finalized contract that you can sign. Please read over everything. Oh, one more. Okay. Do you say one point five times market value? We will, you know, you know, be agreeing and but just kind of think.
I understand that this is not this deal is not sanctioned by your people. What will you do if you're found out? I mean, not by our side because this is for our benefit. But in case things go south, how will you let us know? We want to keep everybody in this relationship safe, of course. Oh, boy. There'd be a long pause. If the elders were to find out about such a thing, it is most likely you would never see us again. If there comes such a time where we have a meeting scheduled and none of us show up. It's safe to assume we never will. That's fair. If there are things we can do to assist you to keep this business going, please do let us know.
As you said, respect goes both ways. And so do with the deal. We are hoping that an influx of weapons and armor will turn the tide on the eastern portion of the border. If this does happen, we are sure that would smooth over any breaches and etiquette we've taken by striking up a bargain with you. And at that point, she's going to she's probably going to start to break away. It's like, OK, we have a deal where we're good and probably start to grab everybody. It's like, OK, let's go before you fucking lose your mind, because to them. Actually, OK, how much do you guys know about the local fair here?
Are you just here? Did you just hear that? Hey, there's a war. Let's sell shit. Do you know anything about local customs? The people here? Anything like that? Are we going off my back story, Jason? Yeah. Then I know a lot. OK, so. I think you'd be able to tell the group if they don't know that. The lion folk would love to be able to win things of our own merit. Right there. There are very proud people. And more than anything in their culture, they respect their elders like this is a big deal for them to go outside of their people and strike up a deal with someone like you, because you are locusts to them.
Like you are everything that is wrong with you know, it's just lower than low. But at the same time, from a logistics standpoint, they need resources to be able to fight. So at a certain point, something's got to give. So that's why that's why Brigand is so dickish. Like it's very it's insulting to him every moment he has to stand and speak with you and not tear your head off like. He feels curtailed like he's like he's it's yeah. I would reiterate that after they're all gone. So we're in this abandoned house and they're all gone, right? They would probably take their leave.
Yeah. After they leave, Tobin will turn to to Lee first and be like, I first of all. And he points back to the door. Wow. Holy shit. Lee. Wow. Next time you're not turning the stone. I'm going to turn the stone. There's no way I'm doing that. He'll look at Captain Delphine. Some notes, Cap. That deal we just struck. That's huge. Lion Thokar. Very proud. Kind of why that guy was, you know, points to the table, the claw marks on the table. So them going around or over their elders, that's kind of a big deal. Thokar. Sorry. She kept she knew she came up right on time.
Thokar turns to Tobin. Did that do anything to offend her? She looked like she wanted to stab me. No, no, no. The lion folk, they're proud people, man. They size you up when you come into a room. If anything, I think she was just impressed with how big your muscles are and how tall you are there, buddy. You know, just just keep beating you. I think that's kind of the most important thing here. Thokar just grins. Yeah. We've had some on the shoulder. Use protection. Guys. I think it's a good time for us to stop for the evening. Deal. You sold stuff. Sorry. Let me rebrand.
And look, that's fair. A nice call on the seven K starter. Yeah. Yeah. It's like I was like it's like six is like not enough to negotiate with. So it's like eight is too high. That's like definitely pushing it, especially if we're locked in exclusivity and shop options. Yeah, it's that's yeah. That might be a problem. I'm glad Mandy was like, we'll do a trial period. I was like, oh, sweet. All right. Yeah. Because, you know, I think I could be keeping dicks. Yeah, it's tough. It's I'm trying to think of a real world equivalent and it's it's I don't want to offend anybody.
So like it's tough. But like there's that came down to dice rolls and there is a reality where she did not come with him and it was just him. That would have been a very that would be a very different experience. There'd be some dead people and one dead lion. Yeah, yeah. We'll be right back after these words from our sponsors. Please don't go anywhere. Don't forget about our brand new Kickstarter. That's right.
