Hi, I'm Alex, and I play Tobin, the Tiefling Monk, Drunken Master. And last, and certainly not least, Mandy. I'm still heartbroken about the Home Depot thing.

Hi, guys. Yeah, what's... everybody... like, what's your favorite hardware store? Like, do you have any... like, just off the top of your head, like, do you have any loyalty to any specific brand or anything? I know people tell me because I've just learned that Home Depot is bad, and lesbians, we love to build shit, so I need a place to go get my fucking wood and tools, so now I need a new one, so... Support local hardware stores. I think there are no local hardware stores. Yes, there are. Look, if local hardware stores can exist in San Francisco, they can exist in middle America.

Some Gitzerai were up there chucking some stuff at you, and there were a few familiar faces. So, let's pick up right after that. So... The Verasaur's dead. It's in front of you. This huge monster has been slain, but it's kind of a moot point considering... I mean, yes, you've proved yourself, but, like, you're getting the help. Thankfully, they, you know, obviously they came to kind of keep an eye on you and make sure you didn't cheat somehow. Like, whip out a howitzer or something like that and gun this thing down. But, like... So, up on this ledge above you, like, you know, 20 feet up somewhere in there, you hear this scuffling.

Like, you're seeing spells go off. You're seeing, like, like every once in a while there'll be, like, sharp implements kind of like, like thrusting over the side where someone's trying to get stabbed. And what I'd like to do right now is I'm going to see how lucky you guys are today. Because depending on how you roll is how well this fight is going to go for the Arachna. So, we gotta kick this off big. So, each one of you are going to roll a d20. And we're going high-low, first of all. So, 1 through 10 isn't great. 11 through 20 is good. Obviously, the closer you get to 20, the better.

So, one by one, and of course we're going to save the leader for last. So, don't worry, Karen. Mandy, let's start with you. Give me a flat d20, please. Okay, flat d20 incoming to b-b-b-b-quiz. Oh, we see that. 17. Actually, okay, I shit you not. I just realized my dice are bright. Like, it's the exact orange of Home Depot and I don't know why. I swear to God, like it's the exact... It's gotta be gray. We're playing group gray. Let's... Oh, that's a beautiful, like a fuchsia. Like a... yeah, like something in there. Oh, it's beautiful. Actually, you know what? I want it more blue.

So, it's a little blue-purple type of thing. There we go. Okay, Michael, can I get a flat d20, please? 17 is a great start. Yes. Let me balance this out here. Oh, no. 12. Yeah. 12. So, up above, you're gonna be hearing all this go on and every once in a while, you'll be hearing kind of this gushy, like stab or something terrible and you'll see one of these areas are kind of get tossed off. And they'll land just like they're limp, like they're fucking dead. And it gets so bad at one point that you can tell it's a real close, nasty fight and that's not exactly how the the areas are like to play things, right?

They're slightly not frail, but they're definitely not as bulky as their northern counterparts here. So, while you'll definitely see like someone get kind of kicked off the edge here, one of the Araka, they'll naturally be able to kind of either catch themselves and scale back or just, you know, not fall to begin with. But at one point, one of these areas are going to get wrapped something like some sort of chain or something's going to get wrapped around their neck, and they're going to fall off and this Iraq is going to jerk up and this, the neck is just going to snap like you can hear it because, because of where you are in this little valley, it's going to echo so crisply, just a you're going to see him shake this chain and the air is just going to fall dead.

Alex, can I get a flat D 20 please? Yeah. Oh, 10. That is not bad. Not bad at all. So, it's going to swing back the other way a bit, and Bertholp is actually going to like you can kind of see this on the edge here if you guys back up a bit like I imagined it's like, Oh god, because your options are climb up or wait here, and like, I'm going to ask you guys in just a second. It's still taking place over a course of like seconds. I would imagine after the fight you're like, Oh my god, like some of you got hurt pretty badly. And things like spell slots are at a premium.

So like, you know, I don't know. But one of these are rocker are going to get struck in the chest by birth ball. And they're going to sail off and just land flat on their back. I don't think it killed him, but they're definitely stunned they're just like, like, not the wind out of them like they're like just in Berkeley, they've been going to kind of like, take a second, even though there's all this chaos behind him, take a second and look over the side just to see if like, are they did. Can I please get a flat. They've all been decent, they've all been so big, but it's so good.

So like, all you gotta do is bring it home and like, and really high, that's all. All right, you got it. Oh, the highest it could be. Jason is downing his vodka now. I'm celebrating. I'm celebrating. So he's on your level now. Two more of these areas are going to jump down. And this fighting is going to continue up top but most of the gifts are I that were up there are being dealt with. So you got three down here. You got birth ball. Now, what I need to know right this minute is if we're going to be dealing with. Okay. We're gonna be dealing with the pain. Are we dealing with the pain master are we dealing with, you know, those those elite defenders are we dealing with the priests are we dealing. So here's what I need Michael to do because I think it's only fair.

Sure. Can I get a flat d 20 from you. Sure. So one of these elite defenders are going to jump down. And this leather clad warrior chick is going to jump down here with this barbed whip like thing. And again, in this little valley like there's this kind of like this this echoey like this this like, oh, you can get the acoustics are. Good. So she's going to crack that weapon is just going to be this really like this crisp snap, and she's going to make eye contact with rated talk. And just just kind of like just this, it's this, this hungry sound almost this like, it's like, it's like how you or I might look at ribs, and it's like, that's how she's looking at talk.

So, Chris. Yeah, it's a bit gross. I get a real granny goodness vibe from her like a real like like it you know I mean like. Anyway, let's get some. As has my rage ended or is it still up. I would imagine it's still up because like this is seconds after, like doesn't last for like a minute. Yeah, I think I have it ends, if I don't do anything if I don't do anything within a certain amount of time I don't know what that timeframe is like I'm sure I'm sure. Okay, cool. I don't think you're gonna out finesse him. That's how I hit him, that's how I did damage him the first time was that I hit him continuously. But then when he got his turn it was like, "Oh, see you later buddy." Now the cool thing is because you guys did so well with those rolls the fight up there one way or another is going to either spill over down here and interrupt this nonsense or they may wipe the floor with those arrows and then aid you. But you got to survive long enough for that to happen. So it's one of those Starcraft 2 missions, survive for 15 minutes.

Yeah, I still got a lot of spell slots. Please. We got to roll initiative to see what happens. Oh yeah. Yeah, we gotta, yeah. You trying to cheat? No, never. We can't even start if we roll initiative. That's true. Does everyone have the map? Yes. Pain Master, Berk, Berkthol, and Elite. Alright guys, do me a favor and roll initiative. This is going to spell it out right now. Like this is going to, this is going to kick things off.

Next round they'll all be first. It's actually a really good spread. It's not bad at all. So it's Tuck, Berkthol, Lee, Pain Master, Topin, Elite. It's literally back and forth. You guys are taking turns. It's honestly really. There's some sportsmanship going on here. This is the opening sequence of the X-Men animated cartoon series. Sadly though, your healer is going dead last with an initiative of two. So Tuck. We're going to have to rub it in. This is for the people at home. Tuck is up. You have three new challengers. So I would imagine Berkthol hits the ground.

And it kind of catches himself, but you can tell it's like, "Oh shit." That kind of hurt. He was not expecting it. Two of his best jump down. Obviously the Pain Master's got to come to the party. We've got to get some Pain Master in there. And they're kind of like keeping an eye on you while checking. It's like, "You're right, boss. All right. Cool, cool, cool." And Berkthol's going to get up much like a cat who falls off of a set of curtains that it tried to scale. It's like, "That's fine. I'm meant to do this. It's fine. Please." All righty. I'm going to do something that's probably odd.

I'm going to calm down and end my rage with a bonus action. Okay. Now that I'm calm, I'm going to go look at the Pain Master, pull out my panned flute, and I'm knowing that my rage did nothing against her the first time. I'm going to focus. And I really don't like the way she's looking at me like that, so I am going to cast, by singing, blindness and deafness on her so she can stop looking at me. Oh, no. And... Oh, wait. Is it blindness or deafness or blindness and deafness? I think I get to choose. Let me read it real quick. You can blind or deafen a foe.

Choose one creature. Well, what do you want to do? Do you want to blind or deafen? I want you blind. She can stop looking at me like that. Okay. That makes sense. Let's do it. So, con save from the Pain Master. Are we ready? Yep. Oh! That was almost a four. Rolled over to an 18. That's a 24. It would make sense that the Pain Master has a good con. Yeah. That's okay. Guys, what you don't see... I'm so glad we're going visual for the next arc, because what you don't see is Mandy using every profanity available. Like, there's a level of hatred for fictional characters that I don't think you understand.

I'm going to look disappointed, and I'm going to look over at Tobin, and then I'm just going to end my turn shifting my gaze from the Pain Master to Berthol. Oh boy. Master Armsman Berthol is going to kind of, like, crack his neck a little bit and look directly at Tobin. Well, I have to say that this is a bit unexpected. But, not unwelcome. I wonder what they'll pay in town for rounding up Saboteurs. That disgusting incident at the docks. And he's going to full-on sprint, almost like a blur, at Tobin.

This is going to hurt. We don't know that. And he is going to make three quick, unarmed palm strikes at Tobin's chest. Oh god, he has a +12. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh my god! Fuck! So he's going to, with one hit, it's going to down Tobin. Ah, Jesus. And he's going to kind of rush off his shoulder, straighten up, and then start walking towards Lee, and then run out of movement. So, actually he'd be right there. So one closer to Lee, but still can't quite close that gap. Then I get an attack of opportunity. That's right, because you are a polar master.

I am a polar master. So I swing... I think we still have blasts on. Shit. I mean, it's active for a minute. Okay, then you're good. So 23 hits. And a smack in the face. 8 damage. Okay. So as he closes in, just like, stab. And, oh, it's my turn. It is your turn. Okay, and so since he has helpfully come over here, I will take my opportunity to attack and then my rebuttal. Yay. Could you give me a d4 please? I have inspiration. I'm going to reroll it. Do you want to reroll it? Yeah, I want to reroll it! I was like, do I have the check? I have the check. I'm picturing this real Catwoman sexy hip wiggle while she's unfurling this thorned whip. And she's going to almost too calmly start walking over to talk. Now, sweetie, you wouldn't be trying to hit me with some kind of magic spell, would you? It's kind of this... This... Smoky, like, gravel. Like, just kind of like, um...

Again, it's like she's eyeing up something to eat. Ooh. It's kind of icky. I'll be honest with you. You know what? She's going to stop one space away. So that thing is going to kind of like wrap around, tucks back, kind of like dig in, and she's going to pull it back. And each time she does it, it's like a... So that and the shield is gonna do 21 damage, but you roll the 21 in your concentration... The bless is still active. And then he is going to come back around with the flail and try one more time on Delphine. 16... 16 hits. Fuck. And... Again, a 21 on that concentration. 15 damage from the shield, though. Delphine's in a bad way. Delphine, you're rebuttal. Oh god, I didn't even look at my total until just now. That hurts. Okay, I gotta get... Tobin...

Uh, so... Let's do a mass healing word. And everyone's gonna get a little bit. I'm gonna do it at a fourth level, so I'm gonna roll an extra d4 first. Good. Oof, that's a 1. It's fine. It's great. 8? Everyone gets 8 hit points. 8 hit points, baby! At least Tobin's up. I mean, this is the same position I was in about 6, 7, 8 seconds ago. Well, I was gonna run over and give you a Cure Wounds, which is way better than a healing word, but then everybody got in my way. Hopefully we get to go first this round, or else this would just be a bad beat. I'm not counting on it.

I have a negative 3 to my initiative. That's all I can do. That's fantastic, though. So, each... At the end of each one of these rounds, what I'm gonna be doing is I'm gonna be asking for a flat d20 roll from one of them. And we'll probably get the cycle through, but the better you do, the faster that combat is going to end up top, and they may even be able to lend a hand at the end of each round. So, I think Alex needs to redeem himself. I think you give me a flat d20. This is not the way to redeem myself, but I will do it. I disagree. You roll a 20, and it's a game changer.

Uh... I miss an 8. How about an 8? Oh, well, okay. They're not gonna be able to lend any assistance, and that fight is gonna kinda rage on. It's going back and forth. Um... They still definitely have an advantage because of your fantastic rules of being in this combat, and thank God. 'Cause, yeah, this round was not amazing. But we're about to reroll, guys. Here we go... And the Pain Master's gonna kick things off, followed by Tuck, then Lee, then Elite. Oh, I was? Oh, Jesus. Don't beep beep beep. Wait, why do you guys say it like that? Well, his thing is dexterity.

Delphines is not. Oh, the Pain Master. You know what? Hmm. Don't do it. I just got up. Come on. Oh, she's too focused on Tuck. Don't worry. They got this lover's quarrel thing going on. Ew. Hmm. Yeah, okay. Let's fucking do it. Um, she's gonna use Phantasmal Killer. No, what now? Um, and she's going to... she's going to kind of flick up her fingers, and she's got these rough-looking, sharp-ass long nails. And they're gonna start to kind of glow, and you can feel something wiggling around in your head just below your scalp. And she's like, "Let's dig into that beautiful brain of yours." "I need you to make a Wisdom saving throw, please." Ah, yes.

My best stat. Wisdom. What do you have to... Okay. Oh, God. Oh, I've got Blast. That's right, Blast. Fifteen will succeed, and you're gonna shrug this off. It feels icky, though. And you're gonna shrug it off, and she's gonna kind of pout, like, "Why won't you let me into your brain?" Like, she's fucking weird. Um... I don't say. Tuck? She did that without consent. Pain Master's not about consent, I'm gonna be honest. Seen this. Seen Dovin went down and back up, but knowing it would only take one more. Seen Delphine getting attacked. But she is so focused on me, and there is something's gotta end.

So, I'm going to Rage. But beyond Raging, I'm going to get even more fierce and go into a Frenzy. Which allows me to have an additional attack as a bonus action. Oh. Was it the fingers thing? Was it that? Well, it's the... Oh, God. This round went crap. This first fight already went... Tobin went down. Everyone's getting hurt. I need to hit, and I need to hit a lot. That's fair. I approve. So, let's just try to take care of this quickly, and hopefully I'll have support in the future. And I will take my Axe. And... Now, because I Raged, that was a bonus action, so I don't get my Frenzy, I don't think.

But I still get two attacks. And I will... Ha! Ha! Ha! Oh, God. No! Are you kidding me? Amven, go away. So, that was almost a 19. But we got a 1 instead, so that is going to roll on the old crit table here. Oh, God. Let's see what that was. A 7. Mortified! You do something truly embarrassing, within view of your target. You receive a -2 penalty to your attack rolls against the target until you successfully hit the target with an attack. That's not as bad as it could be. So, what do you do that's embarrassing in front of the Pain Master? It's embarrassing. Let's see.

What would Tuck consider embarrassing? That is a good question. Yeah. Okay. So, I go to walk up, right? And then, not only do I stumble with a rock or whatever, because I'm trying to be a badass. Then I stumble, and then as I do that, I actually feel a hairball coming on, and so I end up spitting a hairball in front of her. And she likes it. So, it's extremely embarrassing. She likes them big and furry. Mmm. Yeah, that's right. You get one more attack, though. Sadly, it's worth a negative 2 penalty. I do. Yeah. Is it going to auto-apply, or do I need to do the minus?

You gotta do it. Just hit the negative 2 button down there. Alrighty. Let's please try this again. Holy shit. Jesus, 20! You rolled an 8 with a negative 2 and still got 20. That bless is working overtime, guys. Enjoy it while it lasts, because it's going to be a much longer. So, guess what? Now, that negative 2 penalty? Gone. You got rid of that quick. Phew. The hairball must have been bringing you down. That had to have been throwing your rhythm off. Yeah, it's been working its way out for a while now. Alright, hit that bitch! Oh, yeah! Oh, because she likes it. She likes it, so that's partially resisted.
