Smith and The Bourne Identity comes a new film. This your first job? I know what I'm doing. I'm late for a crit change. Starring Matt Damon. Everybody in New England is after us. And Casey Affleck. Go, go, go, go, go! What are you doing? Taking notes. Taking notes on a criminal conspiracy. The Instigators. Rated R. Streaming August 9th on Apple TV+. Howdy everybody. Welcome to the end of Arc 4's story. Now, obviously there's a lot to tackle today and we're gonna get to that. But I just wanted to say thank you to everybody out there who listened to the town hall meeting we did this last week and gave us suggestions for things and gave us your feedback.
I know how easy it is to sit back and not do something like that. I've watched countless YouTubers and listened to podcasters and stuff and I've had suggestions and I figured, oh well, they've probably got enough. And that's not always the case. So thank you so much for doing that. We really appreciate it. I'm gonna get out of your way so you can hear a few words from our sponsor and hopefully you'll enjoy today's show a ton. Don't go anywhere folks. We'll be right back. Let's do that thing! We'll be going around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Chase.
I'm the Dungeon Master. Going around the table. Starting with Rob. Hey, I'm Rob. I'm playing Jhiolo Fane, Elf Warlock. And Zach. What's up? My name is Zach and I play Paxton on group Firebrand. And Bree. Hi, I'm Brianna Marie and I play Guinevee Lothius, the Steel Soul, Tafflin. That would be team one. Team two, Kelsey! I'm Kelsey and I play Calypso Lovelace, the perfectly innocent and charming and friendly half-elf bard who has done nothing wrong. And that's team two all alone, by the way. No one... I was gonna say, I don't know that I would be on team two. I'm like an ambiguous, sort of floating person.
Well, I do want to remind you that there is a century-old house of professional assassins packing them up. That's true. And of course, Jamie. Hi, I'm Jamie. I, for the last time, play Bo Lothius, the Tiefling Paladin. Everyone, please get the behind the scenes so you can see Jamie's very haunted bedroom. I was just thinking too, I kind of look like some bondage weirdness right now. My like, strappiness. I was like, oh, I look really weird on camera. Honestly, you look like you're doing a fairly decent Star Wars cosplay. Oh, what was that movie Sean Connery was in where he's just wearing that belt thing?
Oh, Xanthos. Xandar? What is it? Oh, God. Xanadu? Xanadu, no. That's a 70s disco thing. Zathura? No, it's not Zathura. Danos, Hands of Fate. No, that's Manos. Damn it. We've watched a lot of bad movies. That's not the point. What's his name again? Sean Connery. I don't know about you guys, I'm gonna go look for covers of Xanadu, man. That's a jam. Zardoz. Zardoz! Oh, God, that's bad. Ah, man. Guys, when we started Firebrand, oh, so many centuries ago, we locked ourselves in this eternal torment. I never could have seen this happening, where the group falls apart completely.
That some of you are robots. Yeah, that part is the part I wasn't expecting. There's a lot. There's a lot that like... But here we are. We have... We have Paxton, who is in control of sort of a hive mind, a collective of Warforged. And we have Giollo, who is backing him up. And of course we have Gwen, who has sided with them as well. So much so that they even had a talk about it. Which went great. At Bo and Gwen's house with their mom. Oh, God, yeah, that was... So I think we've reached a point where we all know this is coming to a head. What I'd like to do before any potential conflict is I would like to go around the table and ask you all, after I set things up a little bit, what it is you want to do.
Some of you are asleep. I know that. But it is about 4.30 in the morning. So in a little while, the sun's going to be coming up and it's going to be a brand new day in Brightport. And well, no matter what happens, something's going to change. I'm not exactly sure what that is yet. So I feel like I'm putting more and more pressure and Bree's just like... What are you talking about? I'm doing great. You have the worst poker face in the game. I'd like to start, actually, with Bo. Yes. So you just kind of had this falling out of sorts at the house. I don't know if Bo really went there to be comforted.
I don't think that's why you would talk to your mom. No. No. It's sort of just this sense of like, okay, yes, there's a reason we both rolled stealth. Right. Though we know Bone Gwen's mom quite well in the show, home is still home. Even when you have to deal with people like our mom, you still need that comforting feeling of being in your own space. That's fair. But after you have this soothing conversation in the kitchen, what does Bo do? Can I ask a question? Sure, of course. Because in my memory, we landed... We ended things where Paxtron was outside and our mother was trying to be with a broomstick or something.
Are we going past that point? Definitely. I don't think anything productive was happening there. Okay, so then I suppose if that situation sort of simmered down, Bo would go back up to her room and she's gonna start to pack her stuff. Oh, really? Mm-hmm. Is there... This is a little meta, but is there a destination in her head? I think in Bo's mind, she has failed Brightport and maybe needs to seek out some sort of training to hone her skills so that she can better attain the goals that she has for herself. Because right now, it's just been one kick in the pants right after another, one failure after another, and she feels very responsible for a lot of what's happened to the city.
And yeah, so she's gonna... She's planning on leaving. What about Gwen? I'm trying to think. What would their bedroom situation be like? Are they across the hall from one another? I highly doubt you guys are sharing a bedroom if your mom's fairly well off. Let's say she's upper... Well, we've got bunk beds because there's so much more room for us to move. It's been established, your mom's upper middle class, right? So she's definitely at least got an above ground swimming pool. She's got a fairly large one of those. Airplane hanger? No, she ain't got Snapple money.
That's an Elle's family joke. Yeah, but I imagine you guys each have your own room and stuff like that. So, yeah. I feel like Gwen would just go to her room and it's 4.30 in the morning. She doesn't have any meta knowledge, so she's gonna go to sleep. And would Bo have closed her door? Definitely. Okay, then she's just gonna go to bed. Yeah, especially in the way that we left things. I don't think we're speaking right now. I don't think so. She's not gonna knock on your door and ask if you're doing good. She's probably gonna go to sleep then. That is definitely something I see in movies a lot where someone has a fight and then 10 minutes later they're like, "Hey, let's talk." It's like, in my experience, that does not work out well.
See, I try that and you don't like that. So I have to sit on my hands in my bedroom like, "Mmm." No, because... Can't go talk to him yet. He's not going. I want to talk things out immediately. No, we're fighting. There's a protocol. You need space from each other. Yeah! And Jimmy doesn't like it either. You need time to cool off, right? Right? Otherwise you're gonna say something you regret and like, "I don't want to do that." And at some point, because I have someone who does that a lot, you just feel like you're being prodded. Like, you're being provoked almost.
You're not allowed a chance to calm down, so you want me to be simmered up. That's the mentality I get when I'm like this. Dude, I am with you 100%. Internet high five. Don't poke the bear. I need to take notes because I'm trying really hard to learn how you humans interact. I don't get it. If there's a problem, we should just talk about the problem right now. I don't understand why we all need to take time to ourselves. And why we regret things we say. If we say them, we can just apologize later. It's fine. I don't understand you humans. I just don't get it.
Paxton. Yes. So there's not a need for you to sleep. So Gwen went home to take a nap at the very least. It's 4.30 in the morning, she should. We know Giolo's sleeping. What's Paxton doing while the sun's still down in Brightport? So the way the hive mind kind of works for Paxton is you have to kind of dedicate some of your consciousness to a certain thing going on to kind of manipulate the situation exactly the way he wants it. So he was dedicating a lot of focus to trying to plead his case to the sister's mother. Ah, yes. But I think at the end of that, he really wanted to try to seem passive.
But I think it just ended with a door closing his face at some point. So this particular bot is probably just going to back away from their doorstep like she wanted and probably go back to a perch somewhere. I think that's just what his station is. That particular bot and back where Paxton is, he's just, he's starting to really realize how to ping his consciousness all over the place to check what's going on. So it's almost like his eyes are everywhere. So he's not really focusing on a certain particular thing. His mind's just all over the place scattered.
Yeah, we've definitely, I think we've done a pretty good job establishing like, yeah, there's like 50 bots under your control, but they're not all fully conscious doing different things. They're more perched and watching because it's almost like RAM, right? It's like you have too many tasks going on. It would take a complex mind to like, you know, move all these bots and different tasks. Almost like a computer, right? Like if you played six different games, it's going to get slow. Yeah, we established in the pre-show, Bree loves Call of Duty. Like just loves it.
Mountain Dew. Yeah, she's got her gamer glasses and she's a gamer. I hate you. Well practiced on those Call of Duty mics. Yeah, she's so toxic. Like she's always insulting me. Like it's just... Says stuff like PogChamp all the time. Yeah, it's just like, gotta get Vanguard, brah. Like she keeps saying that and I'm like, what the fuck are you talking about? I'm just like, I... Vanguard important. I think that's the next game coming. The only reason I know that is because there is a pop up today on my Blizzard thing. You're getting the ads already. Finally, Calypso.
Calypso, you set some things in motion. Yeah, maybe. Well, that voice went up a few octaves. Who could say? Yeah, so Calypso is going to go back to their place and probably grab at least a couple hours of sleep. And then they are going to head towards headquarters. And yeah, I mean, they got dressed and cleaned up a little bit, but they're not hiding the fact that they're sleep deprived. They're kind of working that into everything because they look sort of tired and they just had a rough night sleeping. And probably because they're so concerned and tossing and turning over all the stuff that's going on with the group.
I mean, that's got to be it. I also feel like this group probably hasn't had a good night's sleep in weeks. Oh yeah, that too. Obviously, tonight has been one of our last five sessions taking place in this one particular. It's like an episode of 24 at this point. Two, three days, yeah. So, I mean, at this point, the sun's coming up. It's cresting over the horizon here. It looks beautiful from the docks. And Calypso's going to get to headquarters and obviously, again, Pac-Stron does not need to sleep. I don't know if Giolo would be trying to get an actual honest eight hours.
I mean, he's just, obviously, if something's clearly going on, he's just going to get up, right? Like, he's going to get as much sleep as he can, but obviously if there's a stir, he's going to figure out what's going on. Well, I took it more as like Calypso's coming in and it's almost like that. If you work an early shift with other people and you show up and you have your coffee and you just kind of do that nod to each other, and it's like, don't talk to me about it. Yeah, Calypso's not making a start or just coming in like normal. Did you establish some sort of hand signal or anything like that for the previous orders given to assassinate Paxton?
Is there like a go sign? I don't think we talked about that. This was more like, they're kind of watching things, but I didn't know if there was like, it's like a boom, okay, let's do it, that type of thing. Yeah, I mean, Calypso I think was probably just going to kind of like, leave it up to them because they're the experts on the assassin stabby part. That's not their job. That is fair. Yeah, like as kind of discussed, like conveniently forget to lock doors behind them and stuff but other than that they're sort of like the whoever was watching clearly saw them go in and knows that that's like railboard whatever and like they know everything Calypso knows about target, the main Paxton one because that's how you get the other robots to drop and everything and other than that it's kind of, Calypso's just kind of like walk in sort of take it and like how everyone seems to be doing just who's there right now like what's sort of.
So again, it's Joe lone Paxton. What about when Gwen's trying to get like a couple hours then head in or just sleep. I think she'd probably take a couple hours and then go back in because it's like, basically she'll wake up normal time for the average person in bright port probably like eight, nine o'clock like when the sunrise happens because like, obviously some stuff is about to go down today, because people are going to be realizing that this whole Paxton thing is happening and she wants to be there for that, because she wants to be a part of that.
Oh yeah, you got to imagine like town criers are going nuts right that's the that's the morning edition it's like fucking robots like, like it's just like just like a headline that's all it is. robots guys. In front of a robot as they're waiting. I'm not gonna lie, comically, it's comically a picture of the exact same robot on the newspaper. I'm gonna lie, I want that as a t shirt you guys. So just kind of go look into the one sort of yet, not everything in and presumably I mean everyone's still sort of waking up so just time. Is both still sleeping night.
No, I kind of got separated. Last night, everything go well on your end. Paxton was just like he was in the center of the room just looked like he was in deep meditation he's gonna kind of break from his concentration in just plainly say yes to your whole answer is just yes. Oh man. Kind of like, look at maximum length Lance hurts the other two like any elaboration. Yes, it's still sleeping. Yes, things went well. The all of the above. I believe bow is still asleep. And things could have gone well. To some opinions. However, that is of little consequence. I think he means things are fine.
Not everyone's happy. No, that's fair. I mean, I don't know. I'm happy still either it's. So what's the next move, and she's going to look to Paxton Paxton. I keep wanting to make it sound like a normal name, and it's not a normal. It's like Slenderman. Slenderman family. How are we going to explain this to everybody because people are freaking out. The second move is the only move we protect the sanctity of the law. Things just have to be more nonviolent. Then I believe even humans will come around. Were you violent before was, or do you mean just stopping other people from doing violence, stopping others from committing acts of violence.
I personally believe that if my others showed the same acts of violence that the common people show it would be taken much more poorly. So things must be precise. Thanks Ron. People are gonna have questions, and I'm not sure if you're in any state to answer them in a way they are gonna be able to handle. And she's going to look over to Giolo. Maybe you should field, the press, and so on and so forth. I could maybe pretend that they're all drones for now. Okay, so there was something was addressed to Giolo and Giolo like heard this conversation but he was just kind of trying to roll over and keep resting if he wasn't.
Not just like, you know, don't talk to me but just like, you know, oh this conversation is not about me we're sharing a room bound to happen kind of thing. So, at that suggestion, he takes a second to think and just like, I guess, like just double check in his head if he thinks that he's really the best person for that so he just kind of like thinks through it just thinks through all the party members and then he looks at Calypso and says, you don't want to do it. You don't want to take credit for this clip. I do damage control for this thing you deeply deeply disagree with.
I mean, you're the one that was actually all in for it. I'm still conflicted at best so I. No, I'm just saying you want actual sincerity then that's your, you know, eloquent and stuff. I'm more warm and jovial. But yeah, sure. I can do it. Probably fix myself up a little if I'm going to be doing that. Wash my face that kind of thing. And he'll just kind of like saunter over to whatever you know serves for that purpose wash basin and kind of like scrubbing up a little bit. You guys are going to hear glass breaking. And I need to make a roll real quick. Oh, fuck.
Oh, does it 29 hit your AC Paxton that 20 that hits everyone. It wouldn't even matter if we had you AC, which no one does. Oh, fuck. Okay, so here's what we're gonna do. So, a slightly bulky crossbow bolt is going to shoot in from outside, it is coming down at an angle so someone from an elevated position has fired into the building. And it is going to stick right into Pax Tron's chest, and then explode. Fuck. Man, your friends don't give a fuck about you. I'm so sorry, Paxton and everyone, but also the getting the net 20 on that and that happening is really fucking cool.
I'm sorry, people like you're here, you're right. Yeah, but this is so this is a small explosion, not like a, like a big explosion. Yeah, so this isn't like huge like that. Yeah, like Calypso has like a teleport and like a way to like get out immediately if they need to. Also, what a fantastic alibi, where it's like yeah I was there too. They are not expecting to like, like, if it comes down to a fight they're expecting to like get hit and stuff because that's like, unless it's like need be that they reveal things like it's still, they're not blowing cover just yet so.
So, normally, this would be 3d 10. But because that's a crit. I got to do 6d 10. Lots of low rolls nothing above a five. 1, 2, 2, 3, 4, 5. So that is 17. So, holy shit right you're standing there. You are, you're having this conversation Jiolo is like okay let me get ready and splash some water in his face then just, just just just a pane of glass just gets shattered. And then a second later, kaboom like this, it's a small explosion but it's in a room right like it's, it's definitely not pleasant, and though it didn't do a ton to to Paxton, that is a clear that they they intended you great harm, and they ended up kind of glancing you.
So, what, what is Paxton's. What's the reaction to that. See like a hole in his chest. I would have it'd be like a, it'd be like when a golfer takes a chunk out of the green right like it's just like it's it's like oh man like that there's a divot there but like it's not. It should be a hole. Paxton is going to look down at the damage to his chest. And he's going to look at the window and try to peer, where the bowl came from. Give me a perception check with advantage, because you kind of got you got eyes. Oh, okay, well, okay. 16 and the 17. You're gonna see there's kind of catty cornered across the street, it's a, it's a pretty decent distance, you're gonna see this cape kind of flutter as someone takes off in the opposite direction on a rooftop.
Paxton will like kind of say to himself but kind of out loud, almost calmly kind of serenely just after him. And like every, every bot in the vicinity, whichever one like locked onto the eyes just going to start mad dashing through the city, wherever they are just jump off their perch start running through the city after wherever this man is going. This is a fucking nightmare. Yeah. Yeah, but also, it is not great. They're all going that way. Yeah, well that's boy so okay, we got. So to paint a picture of what the average bright portly and that to talk about.
So that you know it's early morning people are stretching they're making eggs. And then all of a sudden you're just seeing robots robots robots just like running, running, running alongside rooftops and robot. You got to imagine there's some of the city streets there's some of the rooftops because not all these roofs are going to be up to code for, you know, big ass Boston Dynamics fucking machines running around on top of them so like people are going to start eating a little bit like it's it because they're going to realize it's like, oh, they're running past us but like, let's say you're selling fruit, or you're just taking your kid to the schoolhouse or something.
And like you hear like, and you turn around and it is big fuck off Warforged just running toward you. You'd kind of pull it all right like, you know, sirens. Their eyes alternately that alternately glow back and forth. I imagine they open their big scary mouths and just make a weird sound chasing someone like a siren of some sort. Yeah, little, little body snatchers just just. So, holy shit. Did you just send us a Bing link. I think about was the Boston Dynamics robots. Get that. Look at him trot. Be afraid of that. That's peacekeeper. I'm less a fan of the humanoid looking.
God, yeah, I'm a little less of a fan. I'm cool with the doggies, I'm a little less of a fan of the ones who's like try knock me over and it's got a big power stance, not a fan of that. Plus there's like a half hour clip of a guy just beating the shit out of it with a hockey stick and that just you're asking for it. So, like little pop up Boston Dynamics will remember this. So inside the okay inside headquarters, you've got all these, you know, you got all these pack spots, or I think we nicknamed them the boys, so they, you know, a bunch of them take off running like what's the reaction of everybody else who just watched a small explosive go off in headquarters.
It's not hurt, but we're all probably kind of like blown back a little bit or just like it like it's shocked. It's not. It's, it's gotta hurt your ears too right yeah like yours we need like. So, Gio will look, I'm debating whether to burn a cure spell on you Paxton, but it's early and I just saw you get shot pretty hard by something, and I can't metagame I briefly I was like, I was gonna be like hey Calypso Can you take care of him. feels like that. Really is a bars. I have healing word. Okay. I'm gonna give you like for HP back. That's horrible like if you're like real bad.
Like I could keep you from dying but. And that all makes so much sense now. So, Gio says, geez he got you pretty good and Gio will cast a cure spell on Paxton. So this is because of how warlock spells work this is actually fourth level cure wounds. So, 48 plus. But no 48 plus four for charisma. That's one of your two spell slots. He's, I mean, he's just about perfect. Alright 17 health. No, that is exactly perfect. Yeah, well, no, that's what's more on top of that. So, well, I'm only paying attention to 17 because it's cooler. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, mind you Gio doesn't think that there's, you know, Gio thinks this is like an isolated incident so he's like, oh, shoot, like got hit, I will fix you and then maybe we'll go back to bed for a bit or something.
Look, it's one of many mistakes fire brand as a concept has. Yeah. What about Gwen? I feel like as soon as Paxton. Let us know where the person was she probably started chasing after them. That makes the most sense to me. I hate it but So, you're taking off with the boys. Yeah, I'm going with the boys. I always I, man is already a very popular property called the boys we're gonna have to come up with something else. Well, ours is spelled with an I the boys. Oh, okay, yes, gender neutral. Got it. Okay, cool. So, he's spelled with an I. Bo is going to hear a lot of commotion at this point.
And found a way to wrap her back into this. I don't see how. Here's the thing, I don't see how she. There are a lot of people getting like waking up to the sound of robot running right now. I'm not saying it's not realistic, I'm saying it's fucking clever. By the way, shitty way to wake up. I don't know that Bo necessarily went to sleep last night though I think she probably stayed up, and if you'll allow Jason packed up her stuff and left a note and is sort of just walking around bright port. One last time before planning on peace and out. Are you heading toward the front gate or like the docks you take a ship and leaving.
Like, No, I, I think, mostly she would probably want to like, go to all of her favorite spots of bright port so like yeah. The docs and like favorite shops and you know like the last saying goodbye to all the people that she has connections with that sort of thing without actually letting them know that she's like peace and, you know, right, exactly you're, you're, you're Goodwill hunting it right you just leave. Yeah. Yeah, so you visit the rusty nipple you're you're just visiting all those great spots in town. Then you would definitely fucking see this because there's no way like okay.
Imagine being in a, in a city like this, where everyone's kind of on top of each other a bit, and you kind of have to have a window open to get any kind of like air moving through otherwise it's stuffy even if you do, like, these aren't insulated buildings like we have today, people walking around and speaking like is going to wake you up now add commotion and robots running and stuff like there's no way. But yeah, that depends on how close you were to that you know what, give me, give me, give me a D 10 on a scale of one to 1010 being the highest one being the lowest. How close are you to headquarters, a six so you weren't, you probably weren't close enough to hear an explosion but you will definitely see robots commotion.
Yeah. Okay. Give me a perception check please. Oh my God, I keep forgetting my perception. So 13 lucky number 13 that's not too bad. So, you probably won't see what they're chasing. But you're going to see these robots kind of like run by, and you're going to see some of them like I imagine, like, imagine how frightening that is to like these things way between six and 700 pounds, and they are going to run and leap from one rooftop to another and then land and keep going and don't break stride, like, Jesus. That's terrifying. Does she see when chasing them.
I would say, like, a few, like a few moments later, like I like, I would imagine when would be fairly close behind, not to undercut this serious moment I do believe that she's still wearing her dragon mask and she's doing a run. Oh my God. Oh, Jason. It sounded like an almost like not expected that to go. I don't understand why. Surprise. No, I know I just it's more. Yeah, my friends and alcoholic I'm not surprised I'm just disappointed right like it's like oh she's drinking again like I know like just equally bad. So, do you know what I realized Naruto running is just Sonic running.
Yeah, I was gonna say that's the release and Jason's disappointed you because he's the biggest Sonic fan that we know the biggest steam profile. So much wrong with that. First of all, first of all, he's very attached to the color of arms that Sonic. I will make a GameStop employee I will. Does he have like, like, these yellow orangey arms or whatever like blue. Now they're blue. Yeah, and they used to be like them before. Dude. Okay, hold on, hold on. First of all, it's a Christian. It's just a yeah. So, but well there's a person named Chris, you know what, don't bother.
It's a big big big thing. I could send you a 60 part documentary. Let's put it that way. So, first of all, how dare you, I Sonic, the classic Sonic the Hedgehog like Sonic to Genesis thing is my icon on on Steam, and it's because it's radical. And, and it does what Nintendon. Yeah, he's got he's got to. So, Sonic fan, that's what that's what they said, you are very educated about technology and I've heard Sega has blast processing, it does have last processing you're right. It means nothing, Kelsey, and don't. Yeah, it's not how it does it. That was something that was in the commercials that has blast processing it means nothing.
It means absolutely nothing. Oh no no that was just the 90s everything was on fire and exploding and blasting all the time, like, we working super fast, even our soda if you weren't drinking surge, then you weren't drinking the right soda like everything was just very up to a level very up to 11. What were we talking about. Oh yeah, d&d. I literally looked up what blast processing is, and it literally says the term blast processing itself was very vague and unclear due to a lack of technical explanation from Sega doesn't mean it doesn't mean anything, the term is thus open to interpretation, and has been interpreted in all ways.
There's a great clip of someone asking it was like a journalist asking it's like could you could you go into more detail about what blast processing is like yeah. Anyway, here's our lineup of games for the fall, like completely dodges it like, like he backflips out of the question it's amazing. All right, going for a tunnel, where in person and cell phones don't exist yet. So, when are you ready. Yes. Yes. I think, seeing when run with all of these patrons. She cannot help herself, but to follow them. All right. Here's what I need to do. I got to roll something here.
Oh, so, Bo and Gwen are going to take off, and they are going to go chasing after this individual who took a shot at Paxton. Shortly after. There's kind of a calm just like you hear everybody running in the distance and stuff there. Something is going to be thrown into the building. And this, this green cloud is going to start to fill the environment. What would you guys like to do. Everybody who's still here obviously. Oh no guys, it's the Joker. As you say yeah G.O.L.O. is just like, Oh, get out of here. Yeah Paxton is going to... Are we in like a one story building.
I always pictured as kind of like a firehouse situation but that's just because Ghostbusters. I was picturing two stories but I had Nast. I felt like one story just because it's like this is where we like get these like a barrack situation almost. I always just like, I always pictured that there were separate sleeping arrangements upstairs but people crashed downstairs. Yeah. Just because like if you guys are like if you want to do shifts or something people can do paperwork and come in and out and, you know, but yeah. Two stories then. Okay. It's a good thing we nailed this down just in time.
I figured that Zach was asking for a reason. Yes. I was going to have Paxton jump out the window but if it's two stories, eh, should be fine. He's just going to run out as fast as he can and try to meet up with the other Paxtrons that are chasing. Oh so he's going after... So he's just running. He's trying to meet up with his other Paxtrons or his other Warforged. Yeah, so like, Koleps is going to join Giolo in evacuating the building I guess and then, like, do they see Paxton go off? Like, take off? I don't imagine it's stealthy. Yeah, they just kind of look at him and look at Giolo like, "I don't know if we can catch him?
Do you know what's happening?" Giolo shakes his head but says, "No, but we gotta find... I mean, I feel haunted right now. We gotta find some place to hunker down." Jason, so our headquarters are like in a... we're like close to like city guard stuff, right? I mean, this is not... like, we're not the only people in the building or area. Like, relatively, you guys are... you are not city guards. So like, this was kind of set up as you're close to the heartbeat of the city, right? You're towards the center. Like, you're near the middle. And we kind of established that you guys are like, I don't know, 10 minutes away from the actual, like, jailhouse and, you know, most city guards.
Yeah, so like just looking around, like making sure it's like, okay, like, if any other explosions happen, like, anyone else is hurt? No? Okay. Where do we go? Can I ask a question? Pacstron leaves and then what? Scales a building or runs down the road? Runs down the road. I want others to stop scaling buildings and kind of come down and join the main Pacstron body. Oh, okay. I want to kind of form a defensive ring and run. If, like, because if we're not gonna catch the guy, then I want the others who are in front that were running after him to come back to Pacstron.
Okay, so you're gonna call them back. So the ping's been sent out. They're gonna, you know, in a moment, they're gonna start to come back. Can I get you to make a dexterity saving throw, please? I'm just laughing at everyone, like someone like watching these, I grew up with, like, trample by and then like a few minutes later go back the other way. Oh, damn, that's good. So you're gonna be moving just fast enough that you're gonna hear a noise behind you. And you are, so I picture, I picture the setting like this. Gaskets thrown into the headquarters here, the barracks.
Everyone comes sprinting out and instead of just like regrouping outside, Pacstron is just gone, like starting to sprint down the street. He doesn't get very far before someone comes down with a blade behind him and just nearly clips him. Just nearly. So you're going to hear that like soft padding of like feet, but a blade hit the cobblestone behind you. So it makes a very distinctive like ping sound. If that's the case, Pacstron is going to continue running down the street. Okay, this is very much in view of both Calypso and Giolo. So a second person is going to drop down.
So now there's two on the street and they're going to start to give chase after Pacstron. Calypso like looks at Giolo and then just starts going after them, I guess. Yeah, yeah, Giolo starts chasing and is shouting things like "Pacstron behind you!" And he just keeps running like he's not gonna like... Pacstron who definitely already knows there's people behind him. Absolutely, he just keeps running with no regards. So like, okay, paint a picture of like how Pacstron runs because there's like four options in my head because it's kind of robotic, right?
If you're thinking more Lego-y, then you're on the right track. Like Legolas? Okay. No, Lego-y. Oh Lego-y! Oh! Like bricky running like... So the opposite. The opposite of that. Because like I had like okay, it was either like kind of Forrest Gumpian or like Will Smith's kid in After Earth or like, like I'm trying to like, like how, like, ah, so I'm trying to picture it in my head. It's okay, Naruto run. It's okay, two of us can be doing the Naruto run. It's fine. No, I have no heart for that. [laughter] You really need a lot of soul. You need innocent soul to do that.
It's just like his arms are, it's really rigid. It's really formation type. Like he's running, sprinting, like his metal legs are like just going rhythm-like and his arms are like kind of wide out and they swing back and forth. It's very mechanical. So these robots are going to stop dead, turn around and start to run back the other way. So they're almost going to run into Bo and Gwen. And they're just going to breeze past you. I imagine kind of coming close enough that it's just like a whoosh, like they're, you know, you're going to feel them come past you.
And they're going to be running back toward the area where they just came from. Gwen's going to stop running and like turn back and, "Where are you going?" And can I still see the guy who took the first swipe? Give me a perception check. [laughter] Nope. He's gone. Yeah, that's a crit one. So no, you will not see. Sun's in your eyes. Then she will turn around and follow the robots, probably see Bo when she turns and be like, "They're attacking Paxton." How would Bo react to that? I think Bo would probably without hesitation, just begin to follow Gwen. Alright, and we're following the robot.
Let's go. So at a certain point, everything is going to converge here, where we've got just a fuck ton of Paxton bots. Paxton, we have people following Paxton, and then we have Giolo and Calypso following the followers of Paxton. And then we've got Bo and Gwen following the bots that were following Paxton. All roads lead to Paxton. So... Yeah, paint a picture. What's happening? I just feel like, in my mind's eye, we're running through the city. It's a populated area, people moving their side, but I feel like when Paxton's running and he's meeting up with his Warforged, they kind of pass each other and it's like this...
Wow. Which Avengers movie was that when they saw the heroes running at each other? It's kind of like that. Oh, Civil War. Oh yeah, there it is. Everyone's just running. Warforged, one side, assassins, and they all clash. Okay, so the X-Men cartoon. Yes. Okay. Well, fuck. I understood that reference, but my mic was muted when it happened. Oh, the song's playing in my head now. Yes. [Singing the X-Men theme] Man, the 90s. I used to have a video game with that on it, and that was just playing in the background the whole time, and I wish I had it again. Just a crushed, midi 30-second loop of the fucking...
While you read the three comics, they scanned onto a disk for you? Alright. We have a problem here. So, normally I would ask for an initiative role, but from my understanding, we have at least two distinct teams, but maybe a third in the conscientious objectors team. So, everyone's running, but let's say it's like, okay, there's just a regular city block in Brightport, and you have just this collision of flesh and steel running at each other, and can I get everyone in the party to give me a perception check, please? Let's kick this fucking thing off.
Let's go. Ooh, wow. Okay. Uh-huh. Wow. Good job, everyone. I like how I got the highest number in Rolled 4. Good job, guys. Well, I guess we'll go with the 12. So, there are people running on the rooftops that are very quickly either jumping down the sides of buildings or climbing, and this is fixing to be a nasty time. So, at the point where you guys converge, people are going to start falling onto Warforged bodies. Like, they are going to drop onto them, and they're trying to plunge blades into their necks and eyes and shit. Like, they're going for kills.
Meanwhile, I imagine the Warforged are going to be defending themselves at the very least, probably aggressively. At this point, yes. Okay. Violent aggression is necessary, and has been okayed for every Warforge. Execute Order 66. Yes! So, you definitely have some that are trying to attack Paxton themselves, so I'm going to set up a map. And let's just get this mass of stuff going on here. Oh boy. Okay, so we have the team, and we'll worry about what the team's going to do in a moment. Oh boy. I don't know what this is going to be, guys. This is interesting.
I mean, with the way we're rolling, I'm not super confident, but we'll see. It's Firebrand. Anything can happen. We have no idea. It's true. Combat has not gone well for you guys in the past. I'm very... I'm very frightened, yes. It's like a lone vendor walking by the fight. "Coffins for sale! Volume discount!" "Can't have a street fight without your coffin!" These Warforged and Assassin figures are going to be brawling in the streets, apparently, and that's just the way we handle things in Brightport right now. The rest of you are going to see figures crowding around Paxton, and we're all just sort of in this little city block here.
Can I get everyone to roll initiative, please? I don't know what's about to happen when people get their turns, but... Are you any of us? I don't know! Oh, dang it. I didn't want to lie. Oh no! The ball's in Kelsey's court. Then immediately it's in Paxton's court. I can't wait to see what happens. No, it... Oh god. Oh! Wildcard. Oh, he's upset. Oh, wait! No one cares about Archer 2, but that's okay. I care about Archer 2. That's true. Alright. Very quickly, this is going to kick off. I feel like there's no warning. The Assassins and bots are going to collide and that's a thing.
And then there's probably a second's hesitation between the people in this little courtyard, and then an arrow is going to fire from Archer 2 way in the back. And they're going to try and hit Paxton, so let's see. Oh, that didn't work. 16 is going to miss and he's going to fire once more. 22 will hit. 6 damage. That's going to bring up Giollo. Okay, I feel like it's been a long time since I've been in combat in any sort of earnest way. I think this is what, your third combat? Really, of the whole arc? I think so. No, it's fine. Yeah, we've been in the wrong system for years.
There's only positive changes ahead for this show. My gosh, what are we playing and why are we playing it with how we play? Yeah, no. I'm thinking about the ways I would run this in Cortex and I'm like, man. Why is concentration... I don't know if I want to get pointed out of the sky. Okay, so all I've seen so far is an Archer fire on Paxton, right? Yep. I mean, I guess I got to shoot him. I got to do it. That's my target. So I would brain recollect the past. Okay, Archer 2 is you. Yeah, there's the magnifying glass. Attack number one. 11 is going to miss. Attack number two.
Oh, 19 will hit. That's better. Then I click my damage, which already has that bonus. Six damage. Six damage. All right, so am I seeing... Draw Lead Warrior... there's Paxton. Man, I worry that there's no great place to take cover without... well, so yeah, Giola will go ahead and move six faces. So one, two, three, four, five, six. Let's move here and that'll end my turn. So Giola's going to fire backward toward that Archer and then just kind of run down south here and try to take some kind of cover somewhere. Or at least get out of the main circle here. He sees himself as pinched, right?
And so he doesn't want that. Right, exactly. That concludes my turn. Calypso, you are up. Okay. So let's recap. For everybody out there who might just be casually listening while you're working on a paper or driving, Calypso's in a bit of a spot. Because the people attacking Paxton are Calypso's cohorts, part of House Silverclaw. So... well, I'm interested to see what Calypso does. Yeah, so first thing I'm doing is changing this, unfortunately, D&D geometry, which is how do you decide what a cone is? Like, who won a 30 foot cone? How does that work? Well, I forgot.
You guys just basically have not been playing D&D for... It also rarely happens. I know. No, you're fine. So that's a 30 foot cone right there. See that? Now you just point it where you want it. And you just... okay, so... Can I grab that? Oh, ooh, wow. Sorry. I didn't know you were just going to grab it. I didn't even know I could do that. There you go. Cool. So Calypso in destruction, which is... unfortunately, oh man, that's going to get Paxton in, isn't it? Saying sorry, guys, I can't... just in the way. There's so many robots around, it's hard to aim with. That is genius.
So for those of you at home... It's a spell that hits creatures. It's not just enemies. It is a shotgun blast, essentially, that is going to target, sadly, yes, the Drow warrior, but also Paxton in the back. So this is the fear spell, which first you get to do a wisdom saving throw, so... oh, of course. So that's the opposite of what you were going for there. So Paxton saved and your friend... Wait, Paxton just strolled. Oh, did it do it for me? Yeah, it automatically did it for you. If we could take this, I hit one of you. No! No cheating. I got lucky. Yeah, so no, your friend ends up getting spooked.
That's fine. I mean, this is not... also just because it's not something that's strictly harmful. And also it's a concentration spell, so I can drop it next turn. So what's going to happen is Clips is going to take out their violin and they're just going to drag the bow across it in a really sharp kind of manner. And it just this really horrible grating noise just goes out in that range. And it's going to frighten people that have biological ears in the area, which is unfortunately not Paxton. And so what that means is just on this turn, they have to run away from me.
So then Clips is going to jog over here by Giulo. You can get rid of that coat now. Got it. That'll bring up Paxton. So at this point, Paxton's starting to realize all the attacks are going one way from the assassins towards him. So he's going to try to find an open space in this road. Maybe right here, just back up a little. And he's going to cast a wall of fire in a cone... I mean, not a cone, in a ring around himself. How big is it? I want it to be just in the adjacent squares around him, so maybe five feet. OK, so you're literally just setting that on fire?
The area around me. I'm looking for a wide open clearing so I could just like kind of surround the melee area around me in fire so I can be protected from that. Got it. OK, anything else? No, that is it. So... Jesus, Drabble-Eate Warrior 2 is, well, frightened and going to run away from Calypso, but that doesn't mean he can't attack Paxton. Yeah, so the way that Fear works is it's a different kind of frightened than like the basic frightened stat, I think. It says, "When frightened by the spell, a creature must take the dash action and move away from you by the safest available route on each of its turns unless there's nowhere to move.
If it ends in a location where it doesn't have line of sight, the creature can make a wisdom throw blah blah blah." But basically, it can still go that way, yeah, like towards... Well, if it... yeah, it took the dash action. I mean, it can also go up there by the Archer Buddy if it doesn't want to go down there by Calypso. Well, I feel like... It just has to be away from me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel like he would take... like, he's gonna run around the corner to just not look at you. You know what I mean? Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah, so that's gonna be its turn.
If it ends in a location where it doesn't have line of sight, it can make a wisdom saving throw. Oh! Okay, cool. Which doesn't matter. 18. Ayy, the spell's ended. Ayy, so he's gonna get around the corner and it's like, "Wait a minute. Same team!" And this does come back, probably. Oh, man. One, two, three, four. So, Dramaleat Warrior number one is gonna move up... Wow, shit. Yeah, can't move up, 'cause fire. Hmm. Well, damn. Uhh... You know what? He's gonna move up and just take a hand crossbow shot at Pax... uh, Pax Tron. So just open fire right in the middle of the street. 18's gonna hit.
And, oh boy, this is not good because they normally poison people, but Pax Tron can't be poisoned. So... that's a problem. Quinn, you're up. Well, I was gonna move up, but then conveniently this guy ran right over here, so I'm going to... He was very scared. In his defense. Yes. It was quite frightening. So, I guess I'll skip the middleman of staying in standard mode. I will switch to Ravager mode. And then I'm going to run up to this guy and use my Arm... Arm Scythe. Here we go. Not Arm and Hammer. Pffft! I'm gonna clean the shit out of this guy. It is called Arm Hammer when I'm in Ironclad mode, and that is hilarious.
Um, anyway... Uh, 26 will hit. We'll drop a 17 to take an 18. Hot. Nine damage. Pretty straightforward turn. So walking down the stairs, kind of slowly assessing everything, is this woman. Just long black ponytail, and kind of observing this nonsense that's taking place. And... she's gonna perch on the side of this bannister here, walking down these steps in target packs. And make a light crossbow attack. Ugh! That is gonna miss. And that is her turn. Like, that fire is causing complications. Because not only because they can't poison you, but they can't get close to you right this minute.
So, that's a problem. Archer number one is going to, obviously, target Paxton. And... Longbow attack one. That's gonna miss. Longbow attack two. 16 is gonna miss. Bow, you are up. Bow is going to come right up here, if I can move her there. And is going to do Searing Smite at a second level on this drought elite warrior two. And now I'm gonna hit him! Don't forget, you have advantage. Ooh, that's... let's do it ag... oh, wait. Yes, let's do it again, because you have advantage. Perfect! So we're gonna drop that two to take an 18. 25 will hit. So it's gonna be plus seven to the damage.
Ooh, max damage! 21! Nice. Yay! And that is my turn. Alright. I'm going to go back to beating my Gremlin now. Very, very nice. You might wanna wait for just a second, because it's the end of the round. If we get to reroll initiative... Oh, right. Ah, no, never mind, you're fine. Oh, you're still last. Oh, look at that. Oh, wow. Perfect. Alright. Feed that baby. Uh... Paxton. Wow, things shook up like this? I'm... I'm in front? Wow. I'll take that. Paxton is going to arch out his hand towards the Assassin with the long black hair. And, uh, Archer One and try to aim a fireball in between them.
Oh, shit! Like a fireball fireball? Yeah, like, I'm sure they're not surrounded by people, are they? Are they hiding around people? If not, if they are, then they'll do it. No, no, no, I don't think anybody... Like, I assume that there are people... Like, there's gawkers, totally, right? But, like, no one's getting in the middle of this. It's gonna cause some, uh, some property damage, but here we go. I unfortunately don't have any spells to my person. Oh! Hold on a second. Let me see something here. Hold on. You have Wall of Fire. Oh, I hate walls. Uh, so... So I have my Wall of Fire up right now, and I want to cast fireball.
Should I do the Wall of Fire? We already know that's up. So that's, uh, yeah, okay, so that's concentration fireball, obviously. It's not so... Yes. Yes, you can absolutely, like, just shoot fireball, then. You're good. We'll target them just in case and cast. Oh, wow, they're both gonna succeed, but that makes sense. One of them has evasion. God damn hinges. [laughter] So, you're just gonna lob a fireball in this general direction where this... Where the staircase is and stuff, and they are going to split up and get out of the way. The assassin's gonna take, like, no damage, but I think the archer takes half, so...
Okay, great optics, guys. [laughter] Robot's burning down the city now. Whoa! 37 damage! That's... That's a lot of damage! How many of those do you get? Uh, 10 charges. So I imagine this is part of his arm, right? Like, it's a staff of fire, but it's, like, in him, right? Which is crazy, because what am I supposed to do when all this stuff runs out? These 10 charges? Oh, it recharges 1d6+4 a day. Great. You basically just have to fuel up again. You need more energon cubes. I like going in the chat. Hey there, don't do crime. Just... I mean, it's that easy, isn't it?
It's just, don't do crime. Nothing to fear. You wouldn't be on fire if you didn't break the law. Uh, Gwen, you are up! Oh gosh, um, I guess I will, uh, use my scythe again. 'Cause that's pretty much what I do. 26 will hit. Also, I have double advantage, just for the record. That's not a thing, so... But I want it to be. Wait, it only rolled 1d6! Did I click the wrong one? I think I might have clicked the wrong one, 'cause it's supposed to be 2d6+5. And it only rolled 1d6. Uh, give me another d6. I clicked the standard instead of the Ravager. Got it. Four-teen damage.
Thank you. Of course. That'll be all. There we go. Calypso, you are up! What level of spell is the Wall of Fire? Uh, that would be fourth? Is it? You get 10 level 4 spell slots a day? No. Wall of Fire has four charges on the staff. Oh... Yeah, like, he's not gonna whip out ten fireballs. Like, that's not... Oh. Sorry, I- Oh, so each one takes a certain amount of charges. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Wall of Fire has four charges. Fireball has three charges. Yes. Sorry, I explained that so poorly. Honestly, I assumed I got it wrong. Like, I heard it the same way Kelsey did, and I'm like, "There's no way that's right." And I didn't even question it, because I was so sure that was wrong.
That's my fault. Yeah, no, he would be a war machine, basically, at that point. Yeah, yeah. Okay, so then I'm just gonna go for it then. So Calypso's gonna, like, look at the fire that is spreading everywhere and just shout at Pax and just, "We can't burn down any more of the city!" Like, kind of, like, putting the panic in your place. Listen, this is all being set up for me. I'm just telling you. And I'm gonna cast this fall magic on the Wall of Fire. 'Cause a lot of buildings are made out of wood. Can I say... I feel like in this situation, if we were in Cortex, you would have to run a Deceipt check.
Yeah, I was- I could roll deception if you want. No, well, I mean, here's the thing. Like, yeah, that would be a Deceipt. So this is the difference between a deception and a lie. That's not a lie, you're right, but your motives are clearly not. Yeah. So that's why we made that two things in Cortex. Now, what I'm finding out is Kelsey the person deceives very well on the fly. Like, I think Kelsey's a great liar. I already knew that. You know what I mean? It's always the nice, quiet people. Yeah, that's, yeah. It's like how Mandy is evil. Oh, everyone knows that.
It's not my fault that the robot is using fire in the city we've already helped to burn down, okay? And that's why. It is really good. Like, that's fucking smooth as shit. I'm kind of mad at how good that is. Can I at least tell who dispelled it? Oh, yes. I'm not at least that much. They're making it obvious, like, they're trying to put out the fire. Yes. So, um, so the DC equals 10 plus the spells levels, that would be 14. So, and then I, uh. I'm trying to just roll a d20. Okay, let's try this a different way. Let's try doing a plus three for my vid, just rolling a charisma check.
See that all? God damn it. Of course. I'm so mad. Yeah. The first three were about 15. I don't think I've ever heard Kelsey say god damn it before. That's awesome. I rolled like five dice. Nothing starts, nothing stops the pyro party. So that, that is not going to put out any fire. That fire rages. Anything else? Yeah. So when that doesn't work, Calypso like looks kind of like panicky and looks at like jello because he's right next to them and they're just like, we need to stop this fire from spreading. So we're not frightened anymore. But he needs to roll a constitution saving throw because of my searing smite.
Oh no. Mm hmm. Ooh. 10. I don't think that that saves. It does. It's a 10. It's whatever. Yeah. So you get one d6 more of damage. Here you go. Three. Well, I don't like it. Says. Well too bad, mister. You're flaming. Well, fuck it. Uh, let's target. I was going to target Gwen. Now I'm going to target Bo. Uh, two short sword attacks. Shazam. That'll do it. Uh, hold on a second. How dare you? I'm holding a baby. Bo just grabs the baby from the crowd. How dare you? Just add it to your armor class and tell Jason the new armor class. Oh God. It's a commitment. All in jest. Uh, 14.
Next one. Oh, 19 is going to hit. Oh, let's see if we can top 14 damage. We can 21 damage. Oh, that is a lot. The assassin who just dodged a fireball is going to kind of look over at Calypso. Like in a, like kind of a, it's like, do you want to help us out here? I know, but like it's, it's like, okay, we're supposed to be in and out. Now we're fighting in the middle of the damn street and like, it's like, like, you know, that type of thing. Just, just can we perceive that, that look that in the window? It's so, okay. It is a look in the middle of this fight.
I'm going to say that I'm going to, I'm going to give him a chance. Like, go ahead. Standing right next to Giolo. Like, if you have a lot of eyes, I'm going to say if you roll an 18 or higher, you're going to see it. On a flat D 20 on a, what do you, what do you want here? Perception. Okay. Damn it. Oh, I'm sorry. Betrayer. It's a shame. Oh, wow. Okay. We got to give everybody a chance, Kel. So a nine and a seven isn't going to cut it. So your secret lives on, but the assassin is going to run down here now that there's a clear shot. Oh, there isn't a clear shot.
Fuck. That's right. That didn't get dispelled. Well then. Do we have a marking for where wall of fire is late? Uh, this would be like here. Let's let's do this. So it would be right there. So it's the five spaces. Yeah. Oh, can it make a square like that? That's cool. How do you know that? I don't know. I, walls are shit. I hate them. I thought it was like a wall wall. You can make a ring. Uh, so you know what? I guess another damn crossbow, uh, light crossbow bolt. Here we go. Oh, two is gonna miss. Archer. Number one. Two longbow attacks. Here we go. Ho! We got a crit. Rolling on the table.
What do we got? 19 body blow. In addition to standard critical hit damage, your target's longest slash. That doesn't apply. Or pierced. So like you're gonna take, but you don't have organs. So this really doesn't apply to you, but the damage does. It messes up my hollow insides. My gears. It really grinds me. That's 14 damage. Second swing. Oh my god. And three will hit. Max damage of 12. Archer number two. I guess it's gotta fire at Giolo here for now. Like, I was gonna ask did Paxim take the damage? I think so. No, I haven't actually. Not yet. But actually. Oh, wait.
Hold on. I don't think he took the 14. I haven't took. Yeah, I haven't taken 14. Because I used to be 11. Yeah, you used to have 11, then that's plus 12, so you don't take the 14. I hear that tension. There's no tension. Everyone loves each other. Everyone loves each other more. Sorry, this is not because I'm like, I'm not trying to get to anything. Oh, you absolutely want me dead. I would say that happens to me. And I have before. I'm just watching the numbers. I'm sorry. Well, we all know Kelsie's the great deceiver, so I wouldn't believe a thing they say. Just don't, like.
Uh-huh. Giraffe Elite Warrior number one is gonna have to just give- just handgun, basically. He's got his Glock. He's gonna- he's just gonna fire. Wait, does he have a real gun? No. Oh, they exist now. They- they- oh my god, that's going to knock Paxton out. No. At one point, man. Now, this is interesting. Because, next- okay, we got Giolo next. Let's see what happens here. Does his wall of fire automatically drop? I believe it does, because that's concentration. Yes. Mm-hmm. So he's just out making death saves kind of thing, right? Yes. Okay. Problem is, I don't have enough movement to get there and heal him on the same turn, so I just kind of have to engage and hopefully make it- make it dangerous to- to try to do too much to him.
Oh, that's right. I have my Celestial Warlock class feature. Okay, personally, abilities that I've never used in the entire game until now. One moment. What, in your multiple combats? You haven't used it? Last time playing D&D for the show, Jason. Okay. So, healing light. Here we go. I'm Warlock level seven, so I have a pool of 8d6 at my disposal. I can spend a maximum number of them in one turn equal to my Charisma modifier, which is four. It is a bonus action with a 60-foot range. Here, I'll dump this in case anyone wants to- No, so you basically have, like, a limited at range lay on hands.
It's kind of the, like, yeah, yeah, that's what I- yeah, exactly what you said. I was overcomplicating. So, at first, you have a pool of d6s that you spend to fuel this healing. The number of dice equals one plus your Warlock level, aka eight. With a bonus action, you can heal one creature you see within 60 feet of you spending dice from the pool. Maximum number you can spend at once equals your Charisma modifier. Roll the dice you spend, add them together, restore number of hit points equal to the total. Does Heatwing go from zero in 5th edition again?
Yes. I believe so, yeah. Restore the pool when you do a long rest. Okay, so target Pax Tron. He's in 60 feet. Booyah. Oh, yeah. Bonus action. There's no real button to hit, so can I just throw 46 and you stick it to him? Yep. Boom. Eh, it's not a lot, but what are you gonna do? Well, eight. So, you're getting eight hit points back and Pax Tron is up. That's... So, that's my bonus action. My action action is... You know what? Now that I have this extra healing, I'm gonna actually... I'm gonna go ahead with another spell. I'm gonna stand Guardian of Faith right next to him.
What's your Guardian of Faith look like? What's... What things are symbolic of the God of Luck? Whatever would fit in the world on that basis. Probably with some like wings and golden or silvery light or something. Oh, would it look different now than it used to? Yes, but let's not get into it at the moment. But it would be fun. I mean, if it matters what Giollo expects it to look like, he expects it to look like what it looked like the first time he used it. Yeah. That was eight years ago. So, that would be fun. It's like a fun little character thing of Giollo going like, "Uh..." Yeah, like an angelic figure that smites things.
I mean, that's what he expects it to look like. Well, you're getting a bear. But, Jason. It's just a big... Is that related to the new gods? It's just a big screaming bear. Just... I like all of us are like, "Oh, we're gonna get some lore on the new gods." And Jason's like, "Bear." It's not. I have an important question. Oh no, Kelsey, don't. Don't. Kelsey, look at me. Don't. I won't say it, but we're all thinking it. Everyone is thinking it. Oh, it's large, Jason. A large, capital L, spectral guardian. Yep, size up. Two by two. And I want it... I want it... Move one space north, please.
It appears and hovers for the duration in an unoccupied space. You can see within range the guardian occupies that space. It's indistinct except bear a gleaming sword and shield emblazoned with the symbol of your deity. Oh, okay. So it is... Yeah, I mean... So, things are in flux right now. So you're gonna get a giant screaming bear just kind of like floating. Like, it's like zero G, but it's like decked out in your team's colors. It's like, "Grrrr!" It's aggressive because it's confused. It doesn't understand, but like... It has a firebrand jersey on. It's aggressive because it's confused.
Chilla makes a point to maybe for the first time in a long time try to reach out to Little Shoulder Angel for, you know, like that hasn't happened in forever because we were once a much more innocent group who had subplots. Oh man, do you remember that? Yeah. Any creature hostile to you that moves into a space within ten feet of the guardian for the first time on a turn must succeed on a dexterity saving throw. The creature takes 20 radiant damage on a failed save or half as much on a successful one. The guardian vanishes after it deals 60 damage. Do I have to like apply that effect to the base?
How do you want that? You just gonna track it? Let's just track it. Okay. That's a DC 15 deck save when the time comes. Got it. Okay. And people stand... It's adjacent. Within ten feet of it. Oh, ten feet of it! Oh shit! So like, what about people who start their turn there? Is it just moving into the space or... Moves into a space in that range. Ah, fuck. Okay, well then, this warrior's gonna get hit. Bow! Yeah, if he moves, yeah, he will. Bow, your turn. Bow, with her searing smite still going on, is just going to hit this guy again. Because you guys are almost having your own little fight. 25's gonna hit.
Woohoo! I think this is showing the power of sisterhood. Uh, 11 damage. This guy's looking real bad. Good. Anything else? That will do it. Jolo, you're up! Yeah! Okay, well, lucky there. I will bonus action heal Paxton again. Because the first one was kinda low. Give to Paxton the following hit points. Boof! Again! Below average. Eight. Did anyone else see that? The one that landed is a three. It like, landed between a three and a six and then disappeared? Santa's perhaps just having a time tonight. And declared itself a three. So, okay. So I've done that much. That's a bonus action so I still get to...
I'm gonna move away from Calypso. Do I provoke an attack of opportunity, you monster? No. Okay. Sand. You have no reason to distrust me, I'm just saying. No, no, of course I don't. I mean, you'd probably get advantage on it if you took it, you monster. Calypso has nothing against Giollo. Yeah. Against saving the city. Power of... Lobots. Lobots! That's the same fireballs that happened to me. Okay. Man, I don't know if I like that positioning either. Giollo's gonna... Guardian faith is taking care of itself. Move here-ish. I'm gonna grab on the assassin. I mean, she's emanating boss energy, right?
She looks very commanding. Oh yeah. It's that big dig energy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, she's got that BDE. Yeah. Your words. Your words, not mine. Okay. I'm targeting shot number one. 13. 13's gonna miss. Shot number two. 17'll hit. Yeah. And damage. Hey, sod. 10 damage to the assassin. Oh, that was a 6.99. Okay. It landed upside down. So, okay. Okay. I moved. I bonus actioned. I shot twice. I'm done. Hey, I don't usually do this, but because I think it happened twice in a row, Jamie, you're supposed to get a second attack for your Paladin, and I'm betting listeners are just yelling.
Sorry listeners, I'm juggling a baby. Trying to just get my turns over quickly. Do you want me to go again? I want you to take another attack, please. Okay. 21 will hit. Oh, woohoo. Oh that'll kill that. Okay, so. Yay. One of these elite warriors, it's dead. The two sisters have taken it down. So Gwen, your turn. We quickly high-five over his body. No, I'm just kidding. Yeah, we do. No relationship is tense right now. We wouldn't do that. Oh, okay. Stern nod. Yes. Stern nod indeed. Okay. So I have, my speed is up by 10, I believe. And I'm going to come over here by the bear and target elite warrior number one.
Does something happen because I stepped near the bear? Oh, I don't think it attacks friendlies. I don't consider you an enemy, so no. Yes, okay, cool. You haven't crossed me, so. Yeah. Not yet. Did you eat my sandwich earlier? I had a sandwich on the shelf and I was saving it. I think that was Calypso. Someone keeps eating my sandwiches. You should ask them. You should ask them about it. That is, that's a new Firebrand policy of like, labeled. That's just- Label your lunches, people. I know I do. And I'm gonna hit him with my scythe arms. Ooh. 24 will hit. I did use the right one this time. 12 damage.
Well, I don't get two turns or anything, so I think that's it for me. Yeah, I think that's it for me. Well shit, this elite warrior is gonna have to- He doesn't have to move to attack anymore. No, he doesn't, so. Oh no. Let's attack Gwen. Traditionally this goes- Wait! Beginning at fifth level, you attack twice instead of once whenever you take the attack action on your turn. Oh! I also get to attack twice. Can I make another attack? You sure can. Are you gonna edit this episode? No. I got one, you need to get the other. Okay fine. Okay. But, at least I get to attack again before I inevitably die in this next turn.
Would you stop? Whee! 23 will hit. I was gonna say, statistically, you only die in 50% of the combats you're in. One time I got knocked out. So there we go, a little bit more damage. 14 damage, that's a lotta bit of damage. So, drow elite warrior number one is going to target Gwen, and let's swing with a short sword. Ha! 15 will hit. Yeah. It's basically impossible not to hit. Yeah, you're- Yeah. 17 damage, and one more time... 15 will hit. Same thing. 15 damage to Gwen, so that's a lot. That's a big chunk. That's a bit- Paxton, you are up. Wow, um, seeing as Gwen just took so much damage, there's no time to back out or run away or anything, so, um, Paxton is actually going to, uh...
Let's see, this is an archer, so he's going to run up to the archer, trying to get some cover from the other assassins shooting at him under the bridge type thing, and he's going to point blank try to Burning Hand this archer. Oh no. Archers aren't great at hand-to-hand combat, especially when it's on fire. What? I accidentally targeted myself. Yeah. Okay, okay, but the important thing is that archer's going to fail. It still says you're unconscious, I gotcha, I gotcha buddy, I gotcha. Still says you're unconscious. You're not unconscious. Oh, does he have to- Some robotic smelling salts.
You have to, like, stand up. Yeah, just go for it, you're a robot. No, no, no, no, that's- I mean, I was unconscious, but I don't feel like that would change much though because that just takes away some of your movement, right? So let's see, you would be- you started diagonal from the bear, so you'd be able to move one, two, three, a maximum of, like, here. Oh. He was like- No, he was adjacent- No, he was- Sorry, up here. Yeah, sorry. I was a bit further than that. So sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. I miscounted. I believe I'm too far to Burning Hands from here because it's a 30 foot range.
Oh, no, you're 25 feet away. Oh, it looks like a different- Oh, it looks different on my screen. Okay, yeah, I'll just do that then. You did, so just burn him. He failed the deck save, so like, yeah. Shazam, 10 damage to the archer. Better than nothing. Anything else? Nope, just two more charges. Boy, so, okay, fuck it. This archer is going to target Paxton and fire the longbow twice. One, 19, that's gonna hit. Nine damage and one more time. Sixteen will miss. These archers are good. Oh, this assassin. Okay, so the assassin is going to finish, just get right up here next to- Guess who gets bared.
Oh shit, you're right. That's close enough to bear. So again, I still picture a zero G bear just kind of like floating and then, yeah, this assassin gets in range, just swinging. That is a fail. Oh, nice. She's gonna fail. She does have evasion though. So she takes half damage on a hit? Yeah. No damage on a succeed. Yeah. Ten, no poison damage, so- Yeah, ten previously from the Eldritch Blast, sorry. Yep. Two short started attacks, one is gonna miss. Second one, oh, that's a crit miss. Fuck. It's a bumbo. You critically hit an ally with a basic attack. If this action is impossible, your original target gains an action.
So guess what? Paxton gets an extra action. Yeah, you get an extra action, Paxton, when it's your turn. Interesting. A Paxton action, if you will. I will. Kelsey, I can hear you getting more upset. No, I'm fine. It's really not that bad for you. You haven't even been suspected yet. You haven't been outed. Twenty is gonna hit Giollo. This archer number two is gonna fire nine damage one more time. That's a crit, 25. Another nine damage, that'll bring up Calypso. Also all it takes is one bad turn for us all to die. We've learned this before. Yeah, I was. I'm looking at the damage numbers that are on the table.
It's not great. No. Oh, nigga, our healer is now a robot. But he's got wonderful cleansing fire. Okay, Jamie's still got lay on hands to dump, right? I have cure wounds. I don't have lay on hands. As a paladin, you have lay on hands. Oh, I do. You're right. Yeah, I do. I do. You said you want to give Paxton a mountain of hit points to spite Kelsey. I could do that. I had planned on healing Gwen, but we'll see. Okay. So accept your decision, whatever it is. Let's remember that this is just a game. We're all here to have fun and tell a story. Here, give moral support to fun.
Just moral, though. Just moral support. Nothing. Nothing else. So this is interesting. Listeners at home, what we have on the table right now is a giant floating bear. Giant floating bear that's in zero G. This is absolutely cannon because everything's kind of out of whack with the gods. The healing bear is here to help in this giant robot assassin fight. Yes, that is canonical. And so we got assassin and then we have Gwen. Then we have Calypso. Now normally this would be a friend backing up a friend fighting an assassin. I was going to heal Gwen. I know. I'm just saying for everybody out there, technically Calypso, if something were to happen, would get advantage in an attacking situation versus I'm just no, no, no.
Kelsey, I'm on your side here and the storytelling thing behind me. You got this. You got it. Kelsey. Kelsey, look at me, I want you to know if it happens, no hard feelings. It's fine. It's for the story. It's fine. Okay. I'm literally using healing words. I believe you. I'm just saying. Now it's just to get under their skin. Like it's just. I was being genuine. If you don't want the heal, you can just say so. I would love the heal. Please heal me. It's not much, but. How high level spell slot, Kelsey, how much enthusiasm are you putting behind this heal? I don't have many spell slots.
Which would make the selection all that much more important, wouldn't it? An extra 1d4 of health is really going to make the difference. I mean Paxton went down because of one hit point. So like, you know. And if you go down, I will stop you from 9. I don't want you to get hurt. I appreciate you, Kelsey. I appreciate you a lot. You're a good ally, Kelsey. People trust you. There. Take your 5 hit points. Yay! 5 hit points to Gwyn. As luck would have it, the minimum amount of hit points that could have possibly been given to Gwyn. It's weird how Kelsey was able to hack the table like that.
Oh my god. Yeah, everything from tonight's show didn't have to be able to hack the table. Those 5 successful rules I got before I decided to actually roll where everyone could see. That's really... Uh, is that it for Calypso? Uh, yeah. Bo, you are up! Okay. Julian just got here. So I am de-babied. Oh thank god. Yay! Seeing Calypso kind of heal Gwyn, Bo is now going to lay on hands Paxton. So you just get to pick how much of your healing pool you want to spend on him? Okay, let's see. What is my pool? I don't know what my pool is. I've only done this so many times guys.
Five times level I think. Five times my level? Well that's a lot. No, I think five times level is right. Paladin level times five, yeah it says right here. As an actual I can touch a creature and draw power from a pool to restore a number of hit points to that creature. So you got 35. Okay then, and you're down 34 huh? Oh wow. Seems like fate. Well you don't have to do it all to me if you don't want to. It's what you want to do. How's everybody else looking? Eh, we're all kind of, okay I'm going to do half. I'm going to give you 15. Much appreciated. Bo is going to touch Paxton and almost reinvigorize his battery or whatever the heck he is.
Charging the matrix of leadership. You got the touch! So I suppose that ends the round. Let's see if I'm last again. Uh, not quite last. Look at that! No, you're in the middle. Alright, alright I'll take it. Chiolo! Okay, I'm out of spells, I'm out of healing, I am, goodness it's only round four. Warlocks. Low stamina. They're better in Cortex if you, if you, you know, if you ever want to like swing by. That's what you thought, yeah. I hear you, I hear you. I'm interested. I like what you're saying here. Yeah, yeah, you can be all cool spell classes such as one called the Gusher.
There is one called the Gusher. No, I'm back out, I'm back out, I stopped. To be fair, that's a blood mage and they sever arteries and use blood as a casting thing. Yeah, yeah. Interesting. Okay. It wasn't anything icky. No, it's a... Okay, but crisis at hand, crisis at hand. You're right. That is six spaces, that's all I can move. I thought I could get on the stairs, get a little higher ground or something, but guess not. I'm going to target the assassin again and I'm just going to let her rip. More Eldritch Blasts. What'd I do? Blast one. 21 will hit. Six. Okay.
Blast two. 21, that'll hit. Also hits. Damage. Nine. Okay, that's what I got. One more thing before we move on. Do you have a name for your bear friend? No, he's just like... Okay, Paxton has always pictured this guardian spell as just like a manifestation of the deity's will, right? Like it doesn't have a personality in his head. It's not sentient in his head. Right. I mean, yeah, but for like t-shirt purposes, like we'll name it. It's fine. Yeah. Well, give me more time. This is all very new to me. That's fair. Because I've fallen in love with this bear image in my head.
I'm going to be honest with you. Oh, hey, for all the audience out there, seems like it's weightless. Hey! Is this my arc? Did I complete it? Do I get to... Do I go home? Ending on a high note. That's how you leave me an arc. Paxton! Oh, God. Since I have two turns, Paxton is... I don't have a cone thing on me, but I'm going to try to aim another Burning Hand at the archer again at this range, but I also want to try to get the assassin in front of me as well. Right. Just aim at them, have them make a saving throw. Boy, okay. The assassin is going to fail, but has evasion, and the archer is going to succeed, so they both take half damage.
Double halfsies. So that's one full. 10 damage cut in half. That's five damage. Now, here is the crucial moment. I'm just going to go for it. I'm going to try to just defend this turn so I can get advantage on attacks, or people get disadvantage. So basically go into full defense. I think that's an action. Yes, I get two actions because of the crit. Oh, shit! You're right! Okay, that's a good use of it. So, Drow warrior standing next to bear. Unnamed bear. Going to attack Gwyn. Here we go. Short sword attack. Boom! 24 will hit. Oh, woof. 21 will knock out Gwyn. So, the elite warrior is going to move to get to Paxton, but that triggers bear.
Yes. Bear! Bear beats warrior. Bear, bear, bear, bear, bear. I just control click him, and then I just click the... I trigger the save, but then I let you do the damage. Oh, that's not a good save at all. He's going to roll a nine. He takes 20 radiant damage. That's not good. Good job, bear. Short sword attack to Paxton. Here we go. Oh, that should be... Oh, no! Crit one, ladies and gentlemen. We're rolling on the table. Dislocation. A forceful pop, and your shoulder is heard as your arm goes limp. The arm you use to make the attack is incapacitated. Fuck. Paxton like fucking defensed up, and then the guy took a swing at him and broke his arm.
Just popped his shoulder out. Two archer arrows toward Giollo. One's going to hit. Second one is going to miss. Bo, you're up. Aye yai yai. Okay, Bo is frantically running around this battlefield, these streets, trying to just fix her companions, and is going to run over to Gwen and use up the rest of my Leon hands. Aw, thank you. So that's 20. I will say that everybody dying is really proving her point that we shouldn't be doing this, guys. I don't know, it seems like if people didn't do crime, it'd be fine. It just stopped with the crime bullshit. That's what we've been very effective at stopping crime.
That's been what we've done as a group so far. We're doing so good. Well, now that we have this robot doing a shit ton of damage. He died! All he's done so far is property damage. That's the only thing. I feel like this is what it's like having big Thanksgiving dinners with people who have wildly different political views. This is like, it's just yelling about like- So what you're saying is we need to get Mrs. Laphias in here? I think she would have a great- Yes. I'm sure she has feelings. Gwen, you're conscious. Sweet. I have to ask a dumb mechanical question now.
Because I passed out, do I have to redo my Ravager or do I stay in Ravager mode? Yeah, you stay in that. Awesome. Cool, cool. Alright, then I'm going to go blalalup and then hit this guy in the face. But first, Winter's Fury. While your current hit points are equal to or less than half of your hit point maximum, you deal an extra 1d8 cold damage with your melee attacks. That comes from my dragon mask. You also have advantage because Paxton is on the other side. Well I have advantage because my Ravagers are mode too, so I have double advantage. Whatever. All of the advantage.
Oh, we'll drop a 1 to take a 19. 27 will hit. Alright, so I'm going to roll this d8. Right, yes, 1d8. Add that 6 to my damage. 21 damage. Alright, and then I get to attack again. Here we go. That is a crit. We're rolling on the table. Here we go. Strike now! Any allies adjacent to you get advantage on attacks against your target until the end of your next turn. No one's adjacent to me. But still, I get to roll crit damage. Bear is adjacent. Yay, Bear! So you, I guess, impose disadvantage on the saving throw? Yeah, let's do that. Sweet. If it's triggered. I hope it's triggered.
Thank you, Bear. The Bear sees your attack and feels powerful and inspired. I keep adding lore, so like, I picture him as like a Russian cosmonaut now. Like he's just in zero-g and he's got a little bubble helmet on. Oh man, I just love this Bear. Is he actually the Bear from that famous flag? What, the California flag? No! Russian Bear nuclear flag. I have a question related to the game we're playing real quick. I don't want to interrupt, but do I get to roll 2d8 cold damage as well when I hit critical? Or do I just roll the 1d8 cold damage still and add that to the critical?
If sneak attack gets doubled, I want to say the Winters thing gets doubled. Nice. I think all dice get doubled. So it takes a 5. See Bear. It's the Bear splitting an atom on a flag of a Russian town. Oh yeah, so okay, there's actually a fun bit of lore too. There was a Russian Bear that was part of the artillery company that actually helped. I recall. Yeah, it's just, I love bears. I just love history and bears. And when those two things meet, oh shit, I'm sorry, Drow elite warrior is dead! I just waited, I knew there was bear talk to be had. He died slowly to the ground thinking about bears.
You know, bears are kind of amazing, his blood is flying from his body. Did you know? And he's just dead. Okay, shit. It's a rock fact! I can bear it no longer! It's fair that you stabbed me, you have the right to bear arms. Bear. It's been three and a half hours, yeah. Okay, anything else Gwyn? Nope, that's gonna be it for me. Assassin! Fuck this. The assassin, the assassin's going to shuffle over one. Bear. Fuck! Bear! Shuffle over the other way! Commit, Jason. No, it's there. Bear? I ran into bear. Disadvantage on this check. So alright, I'll chuck it twice and see what happens.
I feel like her expertise shouldn't be able to be, or her evasion shouldn't be factored in. She still has evasion, so she's gonna fail. The higher one's 23. Yeah, she's gonna fail, but does have evasion. So, still takes half bear damage, so that means there's 20 damage left in the pool for bear. Yes, the bear has 20 ammo. I think we need to respect the fact that this bear has like, vampiric fangs. Yeah. I just, we just need to respect that. I love bear. This is a good bear. It might be an alpha bear. It's the bear art. It's excellent bear art. I'm waiting standing there for a fish to jump right on in.
Gio's just gonna go around and be like, "Yes, I'm the bear's agent. If you have any questions, write to book me." Oh, that bear? He's with me. Actually, there was a famous Hollywood bear named Bart the Bear who appeared in many different films like, uh, like, okay, uh, it, nevermind. I'll get into it later, but like, he was a famous stunt bear. Alright, bear facts. I just love- Gio was used to advertising for bears. That was part of his training. Nice! Big, big Richard. Big, this episode is sponsored by big Richard. The sexiest bear on the block. Oh, God. Okay.
Let's attack Pachstrom with one and Gwen with the other. Remember, I have a full defense. Oh, shit. So that's disadvantage. Oh, we're going to drop a 20 to take a four. Oh my God. Well, let's see if Gwen's is lucky. 11 will miss. That'll bring up Archer. Holy shit. That's insane. You know how low you have to roll to not hit her when she's in Ravager mode? She gets negative five to her AC. Amazing. Thank you. That's a lot. But you do so much damage. I do do a lot of damage. Two long bow attacks. Two Pachstrom. Here we go. 18 will hit. Seven damage one more time. Wait, did you get disadvantage?
Ah, fuck. You're right. Okay. That defense is doing so much work. Okay, so let's count. Now, let's count those two rolls. So, so fine. That still hits. Now let's do disadvantage for the next one. 16 is going to miss. It's just going to miss. Calypso, you are up. Calypso is going to run over to Paxton and they're going to lightly touch him on the arm. I'm just kidding. They're definitely targeting you. I think if I can get you out of here like I did before, they'll chase instead of going after the others. Okay. I'm going to be that guy because Kelsey's been that guy most of this game.
I feel like that deserves a check of some sort. Well, now hold on. This is interesting because unless we're going to meta it, there'd be no reason for a check like to scrutinize. However, to argue against that point, Paxton's a robot now and maybe that's just something that Paxton would do as just, it's just an automatic filter. No, he wouldn't suspect anything like that from Calypso. That's a little too human. Instead, he's not going to feel the urge to run away. He's going to stand his ground. Okay, so he's not going to... He'll say back to Calypso, "This is a battle I cannot run away from." Gwen already went down once and you have other bodies to fight here.
"That is correct. However, the law is being broken and even if I perish, I cannot let such things happen. I am not afraid to die again." No, you wouldn't because you're not really Paxton anymore, aren't you? Or at least that's what you're telling yourself. I'm going to go ahead and say that that was a vicious mockery. Okay, let's do it. That was rough. Paxton's going to fail the save. Seven damage to Paxton from Calypso. Obviously, this is visible to people. Anything else? No, but it's like, yeah, let's... Snax is in the way to get past my defense. So, to Calypso, it's not Paxton anymore.
It's just a... No, no, the way that they said it, and this is what they believe, is just like... You're telling yourself you're not Paxton anymore. Because that's what he's been doing. We've had other Warforged on the show. You know when someone becomes a Warforged, they don't just lose all of their emotions and start acting completely differently. So it's like, oh, so you're just deluding yourself into thinking this way, into being a different person, and being this horrible, destructive creature. And saying you don't feel anything. And I mean, there's a lot to be said for the trauma of death itself and coming back from it.
We've touched on that too. It could just be an adjustment period. Or, you know, delusion, like you're saying. It could be a ton of things. They are still going to use bonus action to toss out a healing word at... I think Giollo is the most damaged. And he's the squishiest anyways. They're just looking at Paxton with disgust, because I'm giving you an option to get out of here so that they'll stop attacking everyone else. And you decided that the law was more important. I get that. Okay. I get that. That's a much more clear motive. Okay. And they didn't stab him.
Vicious mockery is just an insult, trying to drive it home. And regardless of the Silverclaw stuff, if Calypso really was who they bit all this time, I think they would have done that same thing. Yeah, I don't think anybody got the feeling that this was like a "the Lannisters send their regards" moment. That is the bottom of round four. Top of round five, we got Giollo. Calypso is dead last again. Oh my god. So, I was going to say, yeah, Giollo will remember this. That's the first thing that happened. I mean, that was readily apparent, what Calypso did. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay. But, also, assassins. So, one, two, three, four, five. And can I like crouch up here to give the archer way in the back a bad angle? Oh, absolutely. So you definitely... So if you crouch, I'd say that's tall enough that you'd have full cover. Okay, cool. So I wanted to block that line of sight, and then I'm going to attack assassin one with just... I'm sorry, assassin... Just assassin. Yeah. With two of these... No... Oh, wait. No, this isn't the saving throw thing. Whoa, goodness. I almost clicked the wrong thing. I almost clicked bear. So, save that for later.
Here comes the first attack. Sixteen will hit. Yeah, damage. Big one. Nice. Attack number two. 11's going to miss, sadly. Okay. And, yeah, G.O.L.O. is just going to stay crouched up here and quirk a very confused and betrayed eyebrow at whatever Calypso did down there. Paxton, you're up. Use your self-destruct sequence. No. I don't think you have that. No, I don't think that was built in this update. Will I take in a top attack of opportunity if I move away from Calypso? Will they attack? No. Okay. The assassin will, though. Absolutely. So, we'll just move around there.
Flank. I'll just keep moving around. Well, as far as moves go, I am a level seven wizard with no spells, so I'm going to go on defense again. You can also do melee. Like, if you want to just beat her. With my seventh strength. Well, yeah. Okay, yeah. You're... Yeah, okay. That's fair. You have chosen the optimal path. Yeah, defense is good. My only path. Archer number one is going to try and fire at Paxton, but with disadvantage. Oh, that's a crit one, ladies and gentlemen. Slippery hands, you throw your weapon? How do you throw a longbow? It's like the twang when the bow goes instead of the arrow.
Yeah, just *boing*! Oh, shit! This archer has no bow. Okay, at this point, this has been quite a long time for this combat. These people are going to start to get kind of like, "We gotta get this done and go. We can't stay here." At this point, Calypso's wondering, did they send the shit crew to this? I told them about the robots and these are the people that they sent to take care of this thing. I feel like... You think the archer threw their bow? That's... see, I feel like the guy who originally... I feel like Deadshot on the roof was the guy who was supposed to take care of this and they had to send in the B team with 80 robots were chasing him rooftop to rooftop.
Whoa, you are up! It's me! It's my turn! I can get over there, yeah. Every time I try to move myself, though, I move the entire map. Uh, bear. What, what, what? No, I'm joking. Go ahead. I'm so sorry. Don't scare me like that. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Bear is an ally. Unmark Paxton and I... where did I put that thing? I'm gonna do Branding Schmite. Oh, and I have advantage, but that hits, so... well, we'll see if it's a crit. See if it's a crit, yeah. 21 will hits. Cool! So the next time I hit a creature with a weapon attack, I get an extra 2d6 radiant damage. So I will add in 10 to my damage.
Whoo-hoo, 19! This assassin got rocked. That's dope. I'm gonna do it again. That seems fair. Only 5 this time. Well, that's not as much, but still. Oh my god, this assassin's hurt. Anything else? Uh, no, I don't believe so. That's gonna do me for now. Gwen, on the other side of Bow. Alright, I am going to attack this assassin. Ooh, well, we're gonna drop a 1 to take an 8. 16, that will hit. Alright, first I'm gonna roll for Winter's Fury. It's an extra 5 damage. That is gonna kill this assassin. Dope. But it's not an equal damage, right? Just saying. Sure. That will knock out this assassin.
There's a part of me that's like, hmm... I just thought I'd mention it, 'cause, you know... There was a rule put in place a long time ago that in combat you guys are automatically going for unconscious, not to kill, unless otherwise stated. It's the reverse for you guys, 'cause you're law enforcement. Fair enough. I'm just saying, it could really change things for Calypso if this person is knocked down and gets taken into questioning. That's 100% true. That is meta-gaming. Because trained assassins totally aren't also going through intense training on not answering questions.
That's true. Watch them have one of those teeth capsules. Look, I didn't say I was going for lethal damage. So that's what we're going with. I'm gonna go ahead and run up to... *laughter* ...5, bam, bam. Totally unarmed archer. Yeah. And then I'm gonna attack that one. 26 will hit. Oh, this poor archer. Add 6 to that damage. 21 damage to the archer. He looks bad. He looks real bad. And he's got no... he's just standing there like this. He's got dukes. That's all he's got. Is archer number 2 ready to just run away? I think at this point, like, it's... this operation's gone tits up.
They're really far back there. Yeah. Anything else? Oh, no, that's the end of my turn. Okay. Archer number 2 is gonna start to take off. Like, this has gone... poorly. Calypso, your turn. Calypso's gonna go and start trying to put out the fire from the damage that's been spreading. Like, they're just basically, like, just turning their back specifically on Paxton and just going to stop, like, helping if anyone, like, citizens, whoever, trying to stop their buildings from burning down, they're going to try and help that. *laughter* Luckily, a lot of this is stone, like this particular, like, this large stone building, but, like, yeah, like, recently there has been... by recently, I mean very recently.
So that's... that's a good idea. You are so lucky that Giollo has not affirmatively decided you're a foe, 'cause the bear has ammo. *laughter* But if I had to be honest, I would say he's just confused. He's not... he's not committed to that assessment. So, archer number one is gonna try and run away. Is that a regular attack or is it a regular attack for my...? Regular attack for your form. Okay, so, woof, here we go. 23 will hit. Alright, let me add this D8. Aww, just the one. But that'll be enough to probably kill this guy. That'll kill this guy. No, it'll knock out that guy.
Yeah, sorry, sorry, force of habit. *laughter* So that's gonna take you out of combat with these people unconscious. So, Calypso's going to run over and start, you know, putting out these fires, just, you know, there are a lot of onlookers here. That fight between those assassins and the robots have been raging on behind you. Some of each of their numbers have been taken out. As a matter of fact, let's do some dive rollin'. Let's do for Team Robot first. Team Robot has slain, unless otherwise stated, it sounded like it was lethal at this point, is what you said, 19 of these assassins.
And the assassins have taken out 11 droids. And at this point I think people are just trying to run. Like, this has taken way too- this is more of a Gangs of New York thing than a- you know what I mean? This is just, this is a nightmare. Even if the assassins failed, I don't think the people of Brightport are a fan of the robots. All of this is just- I think they've had it with- I think they've had it with a lot of this. Yeah, can't blame 'em. Is Paxton having his forces drag the knocked out assassins, or are they knocked out or dead? And are they being dragged to- if not dead, are they being dragged to custody?
The ones in the big battle are probably dead. Oh, okay, okay. 'Cause they were being attacked. I guess we gotta arrest these ones that we knocked out though, huh? Yeah, looks like it. So, you guys are slapping the cuffs on 'em, I guess, and- What the heck was that all about? Beau's gonna look around at all of the damage to the city, and just is gonna throw her head down to the ground. This is exactly what I was afraid was gonna happen. And is gonna sort of slowly start to walk over to help out Calypso. Giolo will walk down the stairs and shout to Calypso, "Hey, what's your problem?
You lost your nerve in there?" What's my problem? I saw what you did. We'll turn to Giolo and then gesture at the fire behind him. Yes, I gave him a verbal slap. Look at this! Can I ask for confirmation on something? Mhm. This is going way back to the Clara situation. When Calypso uses their vicious mockery, can you see the magic? Because that's very important. 'Cause some people understand vicious mockery as just like, "Oh, it hurt your feelings, but it's gonna do physical-" No, no, no, I- This is magic, right? Yes, but in terms of magic casting, it's...
Imagine the... It's 2d4 damage. It's not a lot of damage, but it is an attack. Like, when you say a verbal slap, you mean that. It hampered his ability to continue fighting, potentially. A knife is 1d4 damage, though, right? Yeah, it's like a verbal cut. Yeah, and it's not just that. I do believe it gives him disadvantage on attacks. Yeah, and it's something you would use against an enemy. It's not like, "Oh, I yelled at him during the fight." It's what it symbolizes, yeah. Yeah. You actively did something that would hamper Paxton and potentially get him killed.
That's much more serious than just yelling at someone in combat. So just to clarify that, for Giolo. Yeah, they meant, like, slap as if they did hit him. Like, they're not denying that. Right, I don't think they meant that literally. Thank you for clarifying. Thank you! Oh, we can bring it back. It is far too late for that. No, no, it's coming back. It's coming back. It's fine. What do you mean? Gwen did not see anything, I don't think. She used her magic to hurt him. Right in the middle of a fight. Right in the middle of a life and death fight. She put him at risk.
We have pretty much already won at that point. Wait, you... I offered to take him out of here so they would maybe follow us, because they were clearly going after him, and that you guys would be safe. And he wanted to stay. And then when he said no, you hurt him? That's what you did? Because he wanted to stay because they were breaking the law, and not because people were getting hurt. And when he did, you hurt him? Yes! And wait, wait, wait, wait, no! You were just going to leave us here on the off chance that they would chase him. That's literally what they were doing the entire time.
No. You were going to leave us here... Because when the assassins dropped to kill Patcheson, we were right behind them. They could have probably turned and gotten us without anyone else around us. They went after him. During the fight, they had opportunities to go after us, but when he was nearby, they went after him. Hey, Jason? Just because this could go on forever, at what point mechanically do we start suspecting, and at what point mechanically should we start trying to deal with this in a game sense instead of just talking? Because Gwen's going to keep getting angrier because you don't attack someone during a fight.
Right, right, right. And I think that's mostly... Okay, so, yes. What we're going to do is... Calypso's already got a deception roll. That's actually a 17 because of my Bard College. Got it. Mostly, I just didn't want it to be a thing where me and Rob are potentially being meta. I don't want it to be like that. I don't want to give Calypso a chance to just lie their way out of it. So, okay. With all that out there, at this point, I think there's enough for... Okay, we have a 17 deception roll. Both of you guys roll insight. Okay. Now, this doesn't take away what happened.
Oh boy. Okay, so Giolo already rolled a 21. Gwen rolled a 10. Uh, Giolo just like looks at Calypso with absolute hurt and then says to Paxton, "We need to hide you. If you're going to do what you're going to do to save this city, we can't put you at risk." Hmm. Do you feel like there was hostile intent in those actions? I feel like I can't take the risk that there wasn't. I understand. I do not know the cause of such treachery, if there is. However, that does not deter my mission or my goal. I will see law in this city. And there is no one that will stop me.
As you can see, I was just interested in defending myself. There is a difference in the letter of the law between violence and self-defense. And if I have to argue that point in a court, I am well prepared. Okay, but we need you somewhere safe. You can have your warforged take any of the knocked out ones away or whatever, but you're in control. You're the center of all this. We've got to put you somewhere where they can't get you. Come on, have a little self-preservation. You can solve this problem through your proxies. You were right. Maybe what you say is for the best.
We will go to a different location and we will invite fewer this time than we did last. Come on, let's get out of here. And then he looks back at Calypso and says, "I wonder what that bear is going to do if you move?" Just walks. Calypso, who is meanwhile had while you were having that conversation, they had already gone back to helping put out the fires. You were going to say, Zach? Well, Paxton, if we remember back, tried to avoid a burning inferno by going to places that weren't flammable like a stone, like the stone road and all that stuff. The damage probably isn't as bad as it's made out to be, but there's probably still some fire.
You're still throwing fireballs around in a medieval technology-level city. What about Gwen and Beau? I think after, like, clearly, Giollo has that side handled. So Gwen is going to turn back to Beau. Thank you for coming. Well, it's not like I was gonna let you all die. Are you carrying all your stuff, by the way? Uh, it's probably off to the side somewhere, but yeah, like, her bag is, like, on the street corner. Gwen's going to take off her dragon mask and look over at the stuff and then over to Beau. Are you going somewhere? Yeah, I'm gonna leave the city for a while.
It's... I... I can't get behind this. And she's gonna gesture towards, again, the damage that has been done. Whether it be a lot or a little, it's still, to her, unnecessary in, like, making the city a better place. I just can't... I can't sit here and do nothing and obviously I... Anything that I try to do ends in destruction, so I'm leaving. Do you know when you're gonna come back? I hadn't really thought that far. And she's avoiding eye contact with Gwen. Gwen's going to reach up and take her hand. I wish you'd stay. I don't want you to go anywhere. I think, um... not... coldly.
But a bit more off-brand for Beau than normal. She's just gonna sort of gesture away and say, "Trust me, it's for the best. At least for now." And at that point she will look over towards Gwen. "I will be back. I just need some time to figure out how to fix things." Gwen's going to nod. Her eyes are misting up and she's kind of holding her ground. "Well, things are going to be better when you get back, so you'll see that, okay? But you have to come back." Sure, Gwenny. And she's gonna sort of like smirk in a playful way. Before we go tonight... *sigh* I need to ask each individual character what they would like to try and accomplish in the next two months.
Now, normally, there isn't so much friction, so this is, again, what they would try to accomplish in the next two months. And depending on how ambitious it is, we might need to have a role of some sort. So, I would like to start with Beau. Okay, Beau wants to accomplish leaving Brightport and going to find somewhere that she can grow as a paladin. I really don't think there's a role needed for that one. That's just a walkabout, just trying to take a break. She needs to eat, pray, love her way across the area, okay? Oh my god. Remember earlier when we talked about that sign in your house?
Oh my god. Woven like a quilt this session. If I may talk to my wrestling fans out there, you're Shawn Michaels and you need to find your smile. It works on a bunch of different levels. What about Gwen? Gwen, for the most part, is going to be helping keep Pax Tron going, patrolling the city, and establishing some form of fair way of doing the policing. But her big thing is going to be, she's going to ask to be put in charge of the docks and seeing what is loaded into the docks and what is leaving the docks. She wants to really crack down on drugs. So you want to search boats?
Yes, because that is the thing that hasn't been being done. And I think the docks need a ledger of what comes in and what goes out. Which was pretty standard in a lot of cities in our world, but it's not standard in front doors. It probably is a ledger, it's just not necessarily accurate. Right, and that's why she wants to be in charge of it because she does not trust any of our dirty fucking cops in this city. Yeah, so is she doing this on her own? She would ask Pax Tron for that responsibility and obviously want backup from him in keeping order because she's just one small android thing.
But that would be her primary thing, is she wants to police what comes in and out of Brightport. She would also want to do it for things coming in by wagon, but mostly it's the docks that she's concerned with. Yeah, when you think Brightport you think. Yeah, and that's where the drugs have historically come in. That is really ambitious, obviously. There's going to be a lot of pushback for that. Let me ask Zack real quick, would there be an allotment of Pax bots sent to the docks to help? Absolutely, we got more cooking on the way. Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wow, okay, hold on.
Let's talk to, hold on, let's back that up. I don't know how fast that guy could whip those up, man. Oh, God, so okay, Zack, what would Pax Tron try to accomplish in the next two months? I'm a little worried now. Well, first of all, what we must do is backtrack to this beautiful moment where the band splits up. We're walking away and it's Pax Tron and Jolo and Pax Tron is just going to say to Jolo, "Thank you. Even I can understand that you have saved my life." And while you're saying that, Jolo says, "We got to do what we got to do." And he is looking around like it is clear from the look on Jolo's face and how he's looking around like what Calypso did, a level of paranoia has kind of permanently veiled Jolo.
Like he's like looking at the rooftops, he's watching the alleys. This kind of broke him. It's understandable. Pax Tron is just going to say, "I do not condemn Calypso for whatever role they took part in this, if any. I still have my doubts, but I do understand I have lost my humanity. And for some, that alone is too egregious. You, however, have refused to judge me. It's most curious." "Pax Tron, this city needs you and this city needs what you can do. If we can get you someplace safe, I really believe we can fix everything. We just... I can't let them kill you." And that notion is why I do believe we need to stick to each other's side.
Yeah, Jolo wraps an arm around his. He's like, "Yeah, come on, let's get out of the street. I don't like how open this is." So after this, I really want to go back to Archmage Seer's house. And that just starts the process of telling him what happened. And with Jolo's help, just explaining how we want to be the initiative in the city. And getting him on board, really trying to get him on board with this initiative to make him feel like he's a part of it, because we're going to need a mechanic. All of us. So he was kind of on board because... Right, because he's like the spear header.
He kind of thought... Again, I think he had a slightly different vision in that he just wants this to be cleaned up, right? And I think he's kind of a shut-in, and I think he'd help where he could, but it would be slow. It's not like he whipped up those in a week or two. This would be months leading into years to get... "Come on, man, we just lost 11. Move your ass." Also, he takes a lot of naps. He does. Can the Warforge that are here be a labor multiplier for him? I mean, it's not necessarily a... It's a magical thing. I feel like it's one of those things like, you know, you got a really hot, sexy new car, but once one part breaks, it takes three months for the part to get there.
Yeah. Oh, a Tesla. Archmage-level magic. Okay, let me ask Giolo. Let's talk to Giolo in the next two months. Would this be an endeavor you'd be helping with? It sounds like you're pretty on board. Oh, after what happened tonight, I've concluded that Giolo has descended into full-blown paranoia. Oh, God. So his overriding goal is to keep Paxton, the nexus of control over this law enforcement force, safe. So he's also going to try to recruit the Archmage and maybe get some city guard on board with collaborating so that Paxton can issue the orders to the Warforge, and then the city guard can continue to be a force multiplier for the Warforge while we're trying to get more Warforged spun up.
But also, Giolo is going to kind of probably be annoyingly fixated on getting Paxton to accept ever larger security measures for his own self, his own corporeal self. And Giolo will be like, "Oh, you want to visit him? I get to pat you down." Giolo's going to get upset. The city is falling apart. He saw someone betray the opportunity that he sees for restoring order. And so now he is, the next time Giolo is seen in Theria or whatever, weeks or months down the road, he's going to be sunk in eyes. He's going to have a twitch. He's falling apart trying to make sure that Paxton's plan comes to fruition.
And he actually probably gets, like, he probably develops some weird paranoid cruelties almost in his singular crusade to protect Paxton. Is he still banging though? Oh gosh. Like in a sexy Haggard way. Like a rock star who's on film. He's still getting some? It's hard to get it up when you feel like someone's watching you and you're going to die. Yeah, probably at the moment. Some people are into the peeping Tom thing, I'm just saying. He's trying to trick me. You don't want sex? I'm out of here. Almost certainly completely ruins his libido, right? Exactly.
Well, it sounds like you're hanging out with the Archmage a lot. So it's just two guys being dudes. So just... Develop his qualities. No, no, no, no. I mean, like, it's all work. It's like two Tony Starks working in a thing. Or does he develop like a weird, strictly warforged kink? Ooh. Roll for it. Aw, it's like that episode of Star Trek where Data gets a girlfriend. Okay. Hey Archmage, next one with boobs. So, okay. One... Can you make the next batch voluptuous? I think what you want is a real doll. I think that's a different... No, no, no. Okay. This doesn't necessarily have to happen, but like, yeah, the whole paranoia setting in thing and him just becoming singularly obsessed with...
No, no, no. This is the thing that's going to work. We're going to fix the city together, right? Like we're going to... Right, yeah. It totally matches well with Paxton because he's so robotically patient that it doesn't bother him at all. So we're just like the perfect pair. Yeah, yeah. So if Paxton's obsessed with saving the city, Giolo's obsessed with protecting Paxton so that it can happen. Like a paranoid Secret Service guy. Yeah, yeah. So, okay, hold on. There's going to be roles required to see what the final shaken out is, but we understand intentions now.
Yes. So there's three big things on the table so far. Cleaning up the docks, which is in Brightport, like a legal search and seizure type of thing right now. Like that's kind of like that. That's going to be a lot of pushback. Creating more Warforged, essentially as many as you can pump out in the next two months. And then an overall communicating with guards. And like, I think there'd be a lot of pushback from that unless you guys get results. And then eventually it's like, I mean, there's been a lot less casualties. Like there's been, you know, I think there'd be a bit of a groundswell.
However, I saved one person for last here, Kelsey. Okay, I have a couple things. Please? Two months is a long time. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. The first thing is Calypso is going back to being a public performer and everything and that's what life they still kind of... Definitely, like, I mean, as they're doing before, like trying to do stuff to like benefit the city in certain ways, but also now with they are pushing a little bit of anti-Robocop sentiment. So, because trying to keep that going is like, hey, even if robots and stuff is still going, they're not like officially part of anything yet.
They're still like technically vigilantes and everything. And the other part is like going back to Silverclaw, because basically using this whole debacle of a fight as a sample, like, yeah, no, I told you guys this is serious shit. And yeah, just like everything that they have, I mean, they know where the Archmage is, who he is, what that all is, then everything, I don't know, that's kind of up to them and like whether like this probably push on like all the houses working together kind of thing. But they're just yeah, hand that all over and sort of then let them do what they will.
And yeah, but beyond that is kind of dusting their hands off of the whole thing and going back to the life they had before and investigating their house on the outskirts of Brightport. Oh, yeah, the manor. Yeah. So, is it almost like a disgust like Silverclaw didn't help when they should have? No, no, it's not that it's like, even if there's probably like they're thinking of themselves like, man, I should have sent a better team on this. Maybe like they're not going to say that. I would imagine at the headquarters, you're going to make eye contact with Archer number one, and he's going to be like, he's going to wear gloves for now on.
There is someone else who knows like this was on some level and like they did what they could to help. But even if I had like gone out and like attack people, I am this bard. There is not really much I can do. Like, right. And like, Phillips does not the stabby member of Silverclaw. So like they needed what they could there. But yeah, so they're just kind of kind of let them stir up a little bit of public sentiment, which probably was already pretty far along in a certain way. But, you know, just keep that going to try and push for at least like having the action on bots and stuff not be like legally official and everything and let them figure it out.
Oh, Jason, I have one more tiny thing to contribute. Oh, okay. Can we add a role of some kind to see if we ever figure out that the assassins were affiliated with South Silverclaw or is that readily apparent by their? Oh, I wouldn't. Well, they don't wear, you know, when they were. Yeah, no, but like, I just like to add a role to did we figure that out? There would be a high one, but we could do that. Okay. Okay. So going back to Kels, though, you're kind of tossing it into their court and you're just saying it's like, okay, you have a big problem on your hands at this point and you give them all the information you have.
Yeah, I mean, Clitso will do what they can to help, but I mean, at this point, that's not much. They have done their part of the job. Exactly. They were the inside track. They gave all the information in. So are you working this into performances and stuff like that? Is it? Okay. So I'm just like, yeah, I gave my information to the house and yeah, we'll do that to help the public sentiments are along to that. The other houses will also probably not be in favor of this. That's about all they can do. And it's beyond that they're gonna go back to what they were doing before.
So there's going to be this push for a new mayor, there's an election that's going to have to happen but like, it's gonna, that's going to take weeks to get together and find, you know, the, you know, people who actually want that job and try like it's it's a lot. And yeah, you're right. Technically, there is no firebrand. Technically, now the person who pushed for it is dead. They're not technically affiliated with, with the guards legally speaking. And yeah, the whole like this is all very uncharted ground. However, if a new mayor gets elected, they could make all this legal retroactively like, who knows what's going to happen.
So, what I'd like to do is get a roll from you, Kelz first, and I'm going to say that public support from the get go probably isn't great. I want you to give me a d20 plus eight. And I want to see how big the pushback is. 23 Okay, well, okay. So, I would imagine that in a in a city like brightport especially it's like okay we're going to start searching your boats, it's like, like stuff like that like it's it that's going to be major pushback like even, even people like even people who are like law abiding citizens are like, Oh, fuck that, like, you know what I mean like there's going to be like this is one of those Venn diagram things where the right and left can come together so to speak.
And it's like, but we all agree. Robot armies kind of fucked right like fucking robots. I'm not a Bernie bro but like robots gone like you know I mean like it's it's you know, so let's go back to the docs cleanup project. Actually, you know what, let's see how many Warforged we have to invest in these projects. So we've got a very paranoid and sleepless warlock and an archmage working together in two months. How many of these can they crank out, and let's say the maximum that they could possibly do is for a week. Can I get Rob to roll eight d four for me.
Okay. Now we know that we've lost 11, which means there are 39 bots left. Okay, that game. All right, all right. So we're back to 55. So here's what I'm going to do. Let's go to the docs cleanup project because I think this is your most ambitious spearheading of like, if you're in like obviously okay, if you got eyes in the sky watching and everything like that that's huge but that that that search your ships thing is huge there. There's hundreds of ships coming in per week and like there's like, holy shit, so I would like you to roll a d 20 plus five. 21.
Oh my god. Oh shit. Okay, so even though there's a lot of pushback from this, I think this is going to be a successful endeavor. And after eight straight weeks, there's going to be less and less and less pushback as there's more and more and more enforcement. It's really tough to say you're not searching my shit when there's four or five droids standing there ready to like, you know, arrest you if you know so I'd say the first couple of weeks of this was an absolute nightmare. And slowly but surely it's going to get to be less and less but like you also have town guard they're helping and stuff like that and it's like kicking a hornet's nest.
You're hoping that after like a like a like a stressful period people just start to accept it a bit, but there's always going to be pushback, there's always going to be. I'm sure dinners at my house are great right now. Uh, well I have a couple more roles. Silver Claw. Let's see how successful that might be. I'm going to say that this is a d 20 plus one with all of the stuff going on right now you guys have your attention divided. If you roll a 16 or higher. You're going to, you're going to be able to find proof and connect dots. I think we need Zach to roll that one.
Okay, so just the 20, the 20, the 20 plus one. Damn it. Okay, that's a nine net game you guys are doing your thing but you're not going to be able to connect any of that assassination nonsense to Silver Claw itself. I'd say that you might have suspicions you might have, but they're not gonna like no, that was me. I was trying to roll for something else. Jello kept mentioning to Paxton that he should find safety I want to try to find like a nice under deep underground layer underneath the city where I can connect all my tubes up to like a big old, like a big old screen or something and be the Citadel.
What you're asking to be is master mold from the X men who ran all the Sentinels. Yes, right. Like, I don't know if that like it's like a port city. Right, go underground. Well, well, well, okay. I don't think he was being literal, but let's say you know what, uh, okay, on a scale of one to 10, how secure is the place that Paxton managed to find, and a lower rating will say is like Paxton being stubborn and just like, you know what I mean. Oh, I'm out in the open. Yeah, but let's see. Let's give me give me a, okay, a four. So like, you're not, you're definitely not out in the open but you don't have a Pope mobile either right you know it's it's it's somewhere in between.
There are three major front runners for mayor of Brightport right now. And after a lot of discussion. Craddock has decided to run for mayor. Yeah, oh man I can't paint for him. Bo and Gwen's mom is gonna run for mayor. I knew it. I fucking knew it. God damn it. Our mom could be your boss role for Gwen to be. Yeah. And there's, well it's been eight long weeks and things. Things have gotten out of hand. And a letter was sent out to a former resident of Brightport and after a lot of discussion. Back at his home city seraph has returned to Brightport and is running for mayor in tandem with how silver claw.
Things are bad enough in the city that they've patched up their ways. And essentially running on a platform of mayoral advisor for some time and Esther Holt. He's trying to parlay that into mayor of Brightport, and we'll just have to wait and see what happens. Goodness. Oh, I think that is a good time for us to wrap up the arc guys, thank you so much for sitting here in this very late session, guys that's how you wrap up an arc. A lot of twists a lot of turns a lot of burns. Everyone Okay everyone good. Yeah, just think we couldn't have gotten here without a year of suffering.
I think it's this moment of suffering. No, I think it's good rap. I think it's a good dramatic rap. It worked out. We finally want to fight though guys. Yeah, also talk about how fucking Glenn and Bo were fucking double teaming person after person and they just went down and then down and then down. Yeah, where the fuck was that. We'll be right back after these words from our sponsors, please don't go anywhere. We really hope you guys enjoyed today's episode, we might do some retrospectives and stuff like that to fill time until the next arc begins, but we're not exactly sure when that's going to be so just stick with us for a little bit.
You will be getting session zero stuff on Patreon, obviously, and we're figuring at least five or six weeks before we can start arc five, but that's because we want to make sure everything's perfect or as close to perfect as we can get it. Again, thank you so much for your suggestions for your criticisms for everything we really, really do appreciate it. We're going to be working hard to change things on the Patreon to make it more valuable to you guys to make it more fun for us. And, well, now it's pretty much time for us to get our nose back to the grindstone so thank you guys.
We really hope you enjoy the rest of your week, please let us know if you have any thoughts over at DANDRPodcast@gmail.com that's DANDRPodcast@gmail.com, and we'll see you guys very soon. Until then, good luck with your games.
