So we're going to dig on into culture shock. I didn't think about that, but this is great. Now we have to. So, yeah, Tani's right at home in this place, like absolutely loves this place. And it's kind of. Oh, she knows the staff. Probably. Yeah. Like she's just like it's one of those like. It's just really comfortable like that. It's just one of those. It's like, you know, they got great music, that type of thing.

So like she's kind of like not pulling on Dagon, but like kind of like grabbing his arm, almost like like arm in arm type of thing. And it's like, so, OK, tell me everything about Odysseus. I have never been there. I'm from Whitehenge originally, but I have always meant to travel down south, you know, once the city was rebuilt and everything, because for it's just nothing. I think maybe I first of all, we don't particularly like being touched. And she's OK. Huh? She's again, not really going to miss a beat. And she's she's going to like, I was like, oh, I'm I'm so sorry.

I'm making you uncomfortable. But she's still kind of like she pulls away, but then puts a hand on your shoulder because like that's like she's still kind of a touchy person. So it's like, I'm so sorry. He's going to move her hand and be like, uncomfortable. Yes. This touchy is not something I'm accustomed to. I'd be more than happy to tell you about Odysseus and myself, but in a more less casual manner. I hear you. I it 100 percent amigo. I understand. And she's going to she's going to like fold her hands and like put them on because it's like a little it's like a little bench, basically.

Like you guys are eating it like like lunchtime recess type of thing. They got this set up. It's real cash. So she's like she's making a show of like keeping her hands to herself. It's like, I'm sorry. It's kind of a kind of a nervous habit when I'm around someone I think is cute. So I just kind of like I got to I got to kind of keep myself to myself. I understand. But I think you loosen up just a little bit if we get some drinks for the table and then we can take the evening from there and you can tell me all about you. I imagine you're some sort of dignitary or on official business in the city, something like that.

It is very important to know she's not asking. She is ordering drinks. This is happening like. I make it a point to sit next to Calypso. So sometime during this, it'll be like try to like turn to like whisper her, because if anyone's going to have a plan to get us out, it has to be our fearless leader. Dinner. I got the moment. Calypso is just kind of like watching the interaction. Like a like picking up anything interesting information that might slip out, but also just this is very funny. He's probably sweating at this point. He's just like so uncomfortable.

Yeah, I flagged down one of the staff and I am already trying to order as many wings as I possibly can. Oh, that's so they might be just a tiny bit thrown just by because, like, of course, the first thing it's like, OK, just just tell me what you want. And it's like you have no mouth and that's kind of off putting. Right. It's like you haven't blinked in the three minutes I've been speaking to you. So like it's kind of like so like you're writing stuff down and it's like, all right, we know your hand rings a little bit sloppy, but like wings. It's easy.

Like we'll get there. He just has to go like this. You know, great for an audio podcast. She's Valerie's doing the the bugak bugak wings, a little chicken. Yeah. Tell me that didn't translate to audio. I dare you. Everybody out there. Anyway, so the next question, because drinks are being ordered for the table, don't got to worry about that. And now wings are going to be ordered for the table. So the waitress is going to kind of it's like, OK, spiciness. And it's like we go one to five here. So just tell me when to stop. And like she's going to gradually raise her hand if you don't stop her right away.

Five, five. Got it. OK, so strong drinks. I'm curious to like they didn't like they like spice and stuff, but they have no taste buds. I don't think that they care. So I just wonder if that might have an interaction with the whole stomach. What's crazy is so they don't taste their food. It's just energy. It's just sustenance. So they're so it's going to be really awkward when he starts to eat. But we'll get to that because that's a whole nother can of worms. Yeah. He has a spicy poop. So, oh, yes. Yeah. Yeah. Testes like like it's a spicy. So we'll we'll be we'll be checking on that.

So here's what I want to do for the drinks. I want someone to roll to D one hundreds. Please. I think you know what? I think it's James. I don't. OK, I will. But the thing is, I don't know if he would drink because you don't have to. OK, I'm just telling you what things are being placed in front of you. You don't have to. OK. I'm a peer pressure, you do both. So we use something called the Laven scale in Theria and sort of operates like proof. But we're always finding the new ceiling based on a war between orcs and dwarves mostly. So James just rolled one hundred and eight.

Hundred and eight is quite a lot for anybody who isn't an orc and or dwarf. So to put it like, OK, that's a lot of the scale goes up to 200. It's like, OK, if you're not used to drinking and I hand you a double shot of tequila or something. Yeah, OK, you're going to, you know, like got it. Breeze a famous like easy drunk, like a shot of vodka. And she's sitting on the floor in a busy hotel. Like it's we all know Maddy. Yeah. Mandy Mandy. Mandy, yes. Forgot the end. Mandy would just start dancing. It's, you know, Mandy gets like half a shot. Yeah. Mandy cannot handle booze.

So, OK, so let's let's say you're given something called cave in. So that's all it is in in the book, The Adventurer's Guide to Theory, Volume one. There's a lovely little tasting guide for what all of these beverages taste like. The tasting notes are rapidly becoming unconscious as your own poor decisions bury you alive. No, no. But he's got to do. We all went to dare. He doesn't want to. I'm not trying to get into peer pressure. If he was using his powers. We and I want him to pick up the glass and break it. If he's using his powers, can you do it in a way that the glass won't cut him? I think it would be I think you'd want to be careful because you could turn that into a fucking grenade and just you know what? A whole section of the car. He doesn't have enough experience with it yet. OK. He could fake a whoopie trying to get rid of it. He's going to go. He's just going to knock it over as he goes to grab it.

Like on purpose or? Yes. Oh, can I get? Is he trying to? Accident? Yeah. Yeah. I think I need a check. Roll. Roll. OK. How good a liar is Dagon? Is that a performance, though? But like it's very comforting. It's very like it's like, hey, I'm real sorry. Like, you know, like being genuine about it. I get I get to roll my own dice here. While you're doing that, Fenris actually leans over to Calypso and goes, oh, that's a shame. I was kind of hoping he'd drink it. Then he might fix some issues. And then I go back to watching. We're already babysitting.

I don't want to add anything more onto that. But him unconscious for a few days would actually not be bad. I'll give you jumped to days. Well, I think about his constitution from that fight. While this is happening, you guys know on a hot summer day, there's like a long stretch of road. And you can see you can kind of see heat radiating off of the road. Well, you're going to be given a big platter of wings. And that same effect is going to be coming off of these like dark red marinated wings. Like these things are hot. Like you could feel it your taste buds when they sat it down.

It's like I didn't realize that the theta was sitting to spice levels for the whole table. I didn't either. But here we are. No, it's great. It's great. I love it. Tanny's going to grab one, by the way, just but like still kind of like kind of like not conspiratorally, but like hunkered up next to Dagon and like grabbing a wing and put in your mouth like I'm comfortable. Like just like that. He's going to look at her and say. Yes. You know, this isn't a new city, a new culture. And I just I'm finding I just really don't know how to act here. Things haven't been working out.

And I feel I've been making some missteps. And and and you're right. I don't want to drink. Spilling it was very childish and I'd be happy to buy another one for you. Again, without missing a beat, it's like that's not going to be the only spilled drink in here tonight. I'm sure the staff's used to it. Hell, I spill my own share half the time. Look. And like she's talking like it's that like it's bounced around her mouth for seconds.

Like, oh, like she she knows you ordered it, too. So she's going to look right over the thing. It's like you're spooky and spicy. She's like real. Like she is digging you like, you know what? I like them quiet and I like people who know what they like. And she's like, like she's probably getting a tiny bit tipsy, too. I got to roll for that in a bit. But like, definitely like she's having fun. So you said you were from Whitehead. What brought you down to the city? I honestly I just got bored. It's a small town. And most of the time people just traveling through.

There's just not a whole bunch to look at or see. And I figured, you know, big city life can't be boring. At least it's not easy. I've kind of been living in this rat infested shack now for going on three months. It's honestly the only place I've ever lived in that leaks when it's not raining. Fenris will lift up his his shot and be like, here, here to rainy shacks. Hers is empty, but she'll cling it like it's got to, you know. What's Matilda doing? Yeah, I was a little thing. We have an argument with Matilda. Matilda's being quiet. Yes. So I think. I think Matilda's been taking everyone in, taking this restaurant in, because she probably doesn't really come to this side of town too often.

It doesn't seem like your place. No. And I think. I kind of picture her sitting next to the Thedan, honestly. And the two of them just like having some nice quiet time. There's nothing going on and they're just sitting there. Maybe we can play tic tac toe on his board. Oh, there you go. I feel like that would be pretty fun. I like it. I like it. Yeah, we've got it out. We're having a little game. I sometimes when you're in an environment like that. You kind of feel like you're cocoon because everyone's so busy having a good time. You can just kind of like withdraw.

Like I've done that before where it's like, I just I'm feeling off. Like just don't you just kind of, you know, and it's almost cozy. Like I feel like you did it until he's like, what's Matilda doing? And then we just called on you. You know, maybe a little bit. No, that's why it's my job to call on you. After a bit. I don't know if anybody has got any wings. I feel bad now. If not, more wings will come. Yeah, I also would have ordered some maybe more of like level of like a two or three. Like a honey barbecue, something like that. Something reasonable. It's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Not like death scorpion or whatever the fuck. Like, you know. Tanny's going to speak up eventually. So did that guy say you all had trouble? You got robbed? We had an encounter. Some of us had an encounter. Look at Calypso. Right. Some of us. And I'm going to smirk. It's been a rough day for a day gone here. But we got his things back, so, you know. That's weird. They usually don't bother people who travel in groups this big. That's that's really strange. There's five of you. I have a staring Calypso. Oh, this is before we were a group, really. Matilda and I just happened to be in a nearby library and witness to the whole thing, which is why we were going back to the guard station.

Oh, oh, so you all just met. Yeah, pretty much. Well, OK, hold on. And she's going to signal for one more round. So this is this is all on me. I'm doing something stupid and reckless and quit my job anyway. So it's fine. So I don't know if there's still like all of the drinks. Yes, I know. Ordering another. Like sipping theirs because they don't want to get drunk. This is like forced hospitality. It's like gunpoint hospitality. Like, I just quit my job energy. Yes. We've all been there at least once in our lives. Yeah. Oh, man. Just quit their job. Say so in the comments.

Tell me what the situation was. I'll buy you a drink. But don't quit your job to just get a free drink. Don't do that. Like it's not worth it. That's not the point of this. It was just maybe don't buy rounds for the table if you quit your job to. That's true. I don't. She's 16. I don't think she's thinking fiscally responsibly. You know, if by the way, if you're young enough to be able to just quit a job like that, like. Good for you. There's. So, yeah, one more round of drinks is going to come. She's probably gonna stop at two because, like, you know, geez, you know, probably have a pitcher of water there.

You know, just stay hydrated. I mean, blood. Oh, good. But until it will take the water. The whole pitcher. This is mine now. She will say something that basically levels out to, hey, whatever you all don't drink, I'm just going to Hoover it up tonight because I just I'm trying to get tanked, honestly. So whatever you all don't drink, I'll drink. Are you sure the problem with that is she's thinking like one or two shots, not six or seven. I don't I don't know if Dave Dagon would care. Like, I don't know. I rolled the dice to see if he would respond nicely or like a prick.

So I don't think he cares, honestly. If it helps, I don't think he came off like a prick at all. That's because I rolled a certain way. Oh, OK, good. Yeah. It's like you've been way more of a prick before. This is great. Very nice. But she is being nice. But. I can probably just say something like. I don't know. Seems a little reckless, don't you think? Give me a persuasion check. Hey, 14. OK, so I needed to know if this came off more like youth pastor or general concern. Like you're just like, hey kids, let's rap or like, you know what I mean? But I got sidetracked with Danny. That's my fault. I'm sorry. I have a problem with like thinking way ahead. So I'll bring it back to the present. That's not that far ahead. No, I mean, actually, next step. It would be funny if Dagon just said that, just assuming that we're all a group now. Well, where are we all going? No, that doesn't make sense. I remember I said that you could come back to my place and take a shower if you wanted, at least that's.

I took long orders over the house waffles and I never screwed anybody's order up.

I'm a pretty good mixologist. Oh, I even got my herbalism kit and I've been working on like potion brew and stuff like that. I want to put him in to sleep by jumping on his back, cutting off the air to his windpipe in under 20 seconds. He's a big one. And I can pick. I've been locked out of my shack several times and I always get back in. Fenris nods appreciatively. In fact, he takes out those vials that he took from the church. Well, to cut to the chase, I recently apparently inherited it.

Unexpectedly, but I've been looking into it for the past few months and it all checks out and. Well, given the nature of the rumors surrounding it, I felt it was best to not. Investigated on my own, at least not at first. And well, it seems I managed to get lucky today. What do you need? How? I'm trying to think about it. It's a good question. That's just just is tanny like. Oh, so, OK. I didn't want to interrupt again, but she's losing her share and I halfway halfway through the word I like inherited. She's signaling for a check like she's trying to let's go.

We're sitting here when we could be going there. So, yeah, she's over the moon. Over the moon, like completely into it, like generally just people with me that are, I mean, worst comes to worst, capable of fending off whatever might be there or. But I mean, what do you think is there? That's the fun part is I honestly have no idea. You know how magic can be. It's all. I mean, it could be some sort of curse or some sort of actual ghost or being really there's not much to go on. Other than the general history of who's owned the place and what it was used for, but I mean, I haven't been able to find anything.

Concrete, I mean, for all I know, there's just a normal place that happens to be spooky, but I've. Learned it's better to be more prepared than not. It's my experience for normal mansion, he underlines me and he's like pointing at Calypso to just like Calypso said, worst case scenario, it's just a big, dumb old house. Best case scenario, we got the ghosty goos and we can go see him right now. Maybe not right now. It's a little bit late. What's but what's the pay? And no, Fenris looks spiky guy because we haven't we haven't a name for you yet. So he calls me Spiky Guy.

To agreed what? I don't feel like I know enough to give an actual figure, but you get fun and adventure and some. There will be valuables in there that I'm absolutely have no useful. Yeah, that's you should lead with that next time. The holes are fun and adventure, priceless. He nods his head and writes housing. Yes, I mean, if everything. Nothing is extremely cursed and we end up. What's the limit? Slightly cursed. Slightly cursed. No, two things. I'm happy and certainly temporarily. I don't I can't imagine he's to another restaurant, but like they have something something like maybe it's cord bread. I don't know. Yeah. But I but I think dumpy is discreetly nibbling on something like that. And also some of the alcohol that has spilled from Dagon. He is also like sniffling around that and getting his his little snoot in in some of that. Some of that goofy juice.

That rat's so smashed. And now he's just like lazily sort of like hanging on the on the table. And that's your dump date. Thank you. But he tries to clarify, like, no people in Ali, me and four others. Oh, yes, I certainly again, we might need to make some changes to the place. I really don't have any idea what to expect when we get there, but I would be happy to use it for something. I don't know what to do with anything like that. Would the promise of a mansion be enough for Dagon? I was going to have like, he's like, he doesn't know what to do with Dagon.

I don't think like he's just sort of there. Well, the thing is Dagon's here for a different reason. And, you know, I think you'd probably pull Fenris aside and be like, you know, just talk of this haunted mansion. Well, it does seem exciting and there's probably some historic value there as well that I could take back to Odysseia. I am paying you to take me to House Dragonkeep. And there's also a matter of the book you mentioned that is not in my bag that contains sensitive information. I need that back. So Fenris is going to be like, when I asked you what was most important, book was not one of them.

Had I known book was important, I would have grabbed that. Book wasn't important to you at the time, but it is very important to me. But I did let G know that it was important and he had those guys go after it. It could very well become recovered. I'm thinking and just hear me out and we can even waive the pay, especially if this mansion thing works out and there's something there. Imagine having another piece of the the proper Aladrin owning a piece on this side that stakes a place where they can represent and shows more of their power because I have no idea what your business is with House Dragonkeep, but I'm trying to think about any time you go into a discussion, it is a battle of sorts.

And as we saw this morning, we don't always win our battles unless we have the proper equipment.
