- Hey, I'm I-A-N and I play Bittersweet, the Thetan Endurance, he/him. - I see what you did there because of all the filthy acronyms. I see what you did there. - There you go, yeah. - Ian is a filthy acronym. - That's all we're doing in the chat now is coming up with that. - I am a saint. - He don't like, oh man, if you write me emails, I'll send you pictures, but like, holy shit. Like it's... (laughing) And Michael. - Hey, I'm M-I-K-E and I play Fenris Masura. - Gross. - The Human Charlatan Warlock. - And Kelsey. - I'm Kelsey and I'm playing Calypso Lovely, the Half-Elf Bard, they/them.

And Valerie. - Hello, I am V-A-L and I play Matilda Wolfram, the Human Rogue, can I use she/her pronouns? - I'm trying to come up with... - Vagina. - Trying to come up with a vagina and it's... - It's not liquor. - Dumb ass liquor, there it is. - There we go. And of course that's James. James has just been Googling filthy shit the entire time we've been sitting here. - He needs help. - He's supposed to be like this pure Canadian Saint guy and like man, just...
- Yeah, you know nothing about Canadians. - I don't. I know two of you and I don't know. - You don't wanna know what they do with that maple syrup. - I'm James. - He's the rest. (all laughing) - I play a criminally deceased Aladdin named Dagon. - We don't know that he's dead. - Well. - Hey, we'll get to it. - He's mostly dead. - He's mostly Dagon. - Yeah. - If we never address it again and just have James show up to every session, he'll always be alive in our hearts. - Is there anything? - I'm trotting your day, Dagon. (all laughing) - You know what? Let's start in the basement.
To briefly recap, switches and levers were pulled. Things happened elsewhere, but in the basement, there's a big kurchunk, almost like a vault opening, something like that. And we can pretty much get rid of this map. We don't really need it now, but in that back of the tank room, with all the blended up monsters in it, three of you, not Matilda, because Matilda would be kurchunking and pulling levels and stuff. But you guys would hear that big noise, like something moving kind of metallic and just like grinding to a halt. Boom. I believe you said you wanted to go check that out.
That only makes sense, but there's gonna be a hallway before you get to it and like a slightly larger room, but it doesn't look like there's anything. Okay, nothing is going to be as creepy and off-putting as the tanks full of like blended up slurry. Like, you know what I mean? That's, once you get past that, it's like, oh, what's a breakfast nook? You know what I mean? Like it's just kind of, you know, more books and stuff. But there is a circular room at the end of this hallway. And there was a very large metallic door that is now slid open. And inside there are a bunch of identical doors lined up against the walls, each one labeled.
Oh, that's good, thank God. Yes, yes. Oh, so you decided to label the doors, huh? Yes, yeah. Okay. Remember, it only goes so far. Yeah. They started there, and then by the time they got to that other room, they're like, I don't have any labels. No, this is too much. I'm done. Ran out of room. You don't buy more label maker ribbon? That shit's expensive. It's like printer ink. It's like, that's how they get you. You're like, next month, next month. And then you forget, you just don't do it. Yeah. So you tell me what you wanna go do. What are the, what do the labels say?
What are? Oh, so you're going into the room. I get up, 'cause I think I'm exhausted, and I was like. You're oh, so hot. Oh yeah, you got, you got, so. Oh yeah, you sleepy. You so sleepy. Yeah. It's just three levels of exhaustion. It's fine. I should take a rest. But I'll look towards you guys, and kind of like follow your, your way, 'cause I. Yeah. What's up, what's up boss? Calypso. So yeah, I mean, I see like no reason at this point why we wouldn't head into that room. Where's Matilda? I think I'm still in the other room. I was actually gonna ask about that, 'cause, you know, from Matilda's point of view, I don't know if she's really noticed anything other than maybe the like door opening, like hearing that faintly, but is that really the only thing that.
I mean, from her series. You did hear like a, like a couple minutes ago at the very least Calypso like yelling for you to come help. So. That's true. I think, so, okay. To Matilda, not telling you what she thinks, but I feel like you're in there flipping switches, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, thinking, oh, it's a big puzzle and nothing's happening. But you end up pulling and switching the right amount of stuff that it slides out and there's a single button. Yeah. So in the midst of that, you happen to unlock this huge door, but with no confirmation that anything else happened, it might seem like, oh, I just opened that door.
Like all of this was to open the door. You have no idea what Dagon and Tani are going through or went through. So yeah. Right. And with all the buttons pressed, like there's really not much to do there. Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. So I think I would go over and join everyone else. And I'd kind of, I think Matilda would be pretty excited, you know, that she figured this out. So she'd come in smiling. She's like, hey guys, I think I, and then she looks around. Yeah. She has not been in this room yet. She had no clue that any of this stuff was here.
I think. Also at Fedrist, who is like on the ground and I'm like holding him up. I'm just like holding him up. Like, yeah. You know that like third day at Dragon Con and like it's like Saturday morning or Sunday morning. You're like, oh God. Like it's that, like that level of the Georgia heat is just sapping your will to live. Like, you know. Calypso gives Matilda a very unimpressed look. By the way, just don't touch any of the tanks or you'll end up like him. Fine. I shake my head no. To Matilda. In the back. Fine. I mean, okay, I wasn't really planning on it, but I'll take your word for it.
But I was in the other room and I think I figured it out. Figured what out? I don't know, but I figured it out. There was like all of these things and they were moving around and I went boop, boop, boop and I got it and it was going and there was this big button and I hit it and it looked really important. I'm not sure what it did yet though. But you're welcome. But you're welcome. What happened? I know that there was the whole, like, you like aged however many years thing. Oh, right. We all aged in this room. I forgot about that. It's a small amount. Like it's only a few years, but like it's.
Like, was there anything else that happened beyond that? Like, was it like the lights flicker or something? I can't quite remember. Yeah. Yeah. So there's essentially there's a there's a jewel that was at the top. It's still there. But you could see energy arc off of that. Like you could see what happened if there's just. Again, if if we're using. Oh yeah, crystal flashbang was the word that I found. Yes. Again, if we're using common sense, the group mob would probably think that someone coming in bragging about hitting a bunch of switches and buttons and stuff.
And then that happens. The two are probably correlated. Ah, so you were presumably what caused the big flashing crystal. What flashing crystal? Point up. It did something to dumpy, at least. Oh, no. Is that be OK? I don't be out and he's swole as fuck. Yeah, he's just doing like Hulk Hogan poses from the 80s. Like he's. Hey, is he having trouble hearing us? He's just he just does that every couple of seconds. Yeah, he has multiple shirts. He keeps ripping them off. Very dumb of me. Very charismatic. Yes, yes, yes. And a shirt. I have to make sure it ends events, dump a mania.
Yes. Brown. So are. All of you OK, then? Define OK. I mean, I'm alive. Can I ask? Does Fenris associate his being drained with the tank or the crystal? Because you definitely felt that way before the crystal, but it would have been a matter of seconds, right? I think from the tank, because there was that whole like mimicking the thing and then like the tongue came. And so that then like falling. And it was like getting more. Less. Oh, oh. So even though we all age, and I don't know how much every little about like four years, what I have. Yeah, it was only yeah, it was it was very low.
And it probably just not notice any difference. Do I feel any difference being exhausted? Do I feel like a little like I don't know if I've ever been this exhausted before either. So who knows? Well, OK, the exhaustion levels are interesting. I I like level three. I would put up there with like if you've ever had like a huge project around the house, like you're it's it's lots of physical labor, like you're you're building something, you're taking something, whatever. But it's yeah, yeah, yeah. Like it's multiple days and you're hurting in places you didn't know.
You can hurt your your it's just like you wake up the next day. It's like, oh, like it's that kind of exhausted. Like I, I don't picture that it's just you being tired. I like everything's been stretched to the max, basically. So you're you're just it's like everything hurts. I just want to go to bed. Leave me alone. That type of thing. So me like a few days ago, the day after you had your first kid. OK, I can play that. Fenris does not reply. I'm like staring into your soul, like I'm just all around me. There was also a big clunky noise in that direction. I suppose we should go investigate that.
Fenris, are you feeling up for walking or should we take a break and let you get some rest? I'm fine. Let's just keep going. I don't want to sit down and think about it, because I think I think in his head is like, just keep going, because if he gives in, he might not get back up and he'd rather just. You know how you're when you're running or you're exhausted, if you just keep going, you're fine. But the moment you sit down, you're done. Yeah. Well, again, big circular room looks like a vault, basically. And the the large metallic door kind of slid and positioned itself into the wall so that, you know, you can just walk in freely.
If you start to approach the room in the center of it, like there's another crystal and this one is going to kind of like blink into life, not like the other one where it it ages you. This one's much softer. It's it's almost like a projection. And there is there's an old man who's going to be standing in there. Oh, hands behind. Yeah, hands behind his back and just waiting for you to come in like a hologram kind of thing. Yeah. I'm guessing this is another one of those. Like this is an impossible level of magic. Kind of? Yeah. So if this were a recording, it's like that's that's a pretty like it's one of those things where people have definitely done that type of thing before.
But it's if it would be a rarity, it would be like, oh, we're we're in this unexplored cavern and we need to leave. But if someone ever comes down here, they need to know about this thing. Right. The ones that are just sitting around the house like Post-its, it's like, wow. Yeah, that is that's like it's like buy eggs. It's like fucking really? You use that amount of power? You know, like. Yeah, so I mean, I guess you walk into the room. Mom, I'll follow Calypso. And if Fenris needs help. And yeah, I'm leaning. Yeah, yeah. I'm fully I'm walking as like I'm pretending like you can't tell, but I'm so using you for support.
Yeah, gotcha. Don't be special. He's going to let your arm. He lets me with his pinky. Just rely on the largest arms in the world, brother. Don't be the rat has 24 inch pythons. That's great. I love it. Oh, hell yeah. That's like the snake can touch him. All he is is bicep. That's it. Middle tiny little. It's going to turn into a grasshopper mouse. And someone fed him the sliders on Skyrim way too much. Yeah. As as you walk in the little that the hologram is going to start speaking. Welcome to my inner sanctum. I imagine you have quite a few questions. Oh, oh, oh.
And this is now staring into the whatever potential soul is this thing, because now he is like, nothing is being processed. This is beyond. He's gone. Yeah. Matilda will go up behind Calypso and say, I think you can take this one. Yeah, Calypso just like, I mean, free understandably so. Like, like, because it's probably going to like kind of like, wait a second to see because you're just they're not sure if this is an automated recording or not. Like, even with that, it's still like it's like this, like if it actually is like some like has like thought or whatever like that, that is unprecedented.
I imagine. Yeah, no, that is. That's yeah, that's like going over to someone's house and they just have an actual robot butler like one of the dynamics things like comes running and it's like, what the fuck? How do you have that like that? Yeah, so it's probably just kind of like dance, like just like kind of like just stops midstep. But it's just like just not taking their eyes off of the old man, who I assume is the former owner of the mansion. I assure you, there's no need to be on your guard. Let's just shut that door really quickly. And the thing's going to slide, which is a little off putting, but you know, it's it's yeah.
This is a nice, bright, clean room with a bunch of doors. Again, I imagine you have quite a few questions. Congrats on making your way here. I didn't make it easy. No, you did not. This is just like still like processingly. Are you alive? But. Well, that's a matter of your point of view. I, I am dead, but I did use the last of my power to upload my consciousness into this crystal. It only has a little bit more power left. I decided I would answer any questions you have using that before I dissipate completely. So do we have a time limit? It would be in the hours.
I don't think you have that many questions. OK, just. Yeah, OK. Yeah, I was just like taking like a few breaths and just. OK, so you uploaded your consciousness into a crystal. That's a thing that can happen, but. All power has a cost and well, this cost me my life. I wouldn't recommend it unless it's a last resort. But, well, people were coming to kill me anyway. So I figured I could set this in motion. They probably wouldn't know about you. I didn't know about you. No offense. So you didn't know about me, and yet I apparently inherited all of this. I mean, I didn't know about you either.
I had no offense. It was a bit of a surprise. Well, I had to see if there were any living hairs and your name popped up. Our family tree is. Complicated. Are you going to introduce me to your friends? I don't want to be rude. Yes, I. Apologies. This is. Fenris is. Um, I was about to say Fenris is the sleepy one. I'm like, no, wait. This is Fenris. Bittersweet and Matilda and. Two other members of our party, Dagon and Tani. Are in another part of the mansion right now, as far as I understand. Oh, they've been eradicated. Sorry, what Fenris is like snap like. Huh? I think we're going to look to bittersweet because he's the one that was like there.
Right. Was it bittersweet? That's like they're probably. I didn't see him, but I went up in the room and they were not there. You reported they were like co-noodling or something like that. Yes. Yeah. He gave three letters and you were supposed to Google it. Oh, my God. Let me. It was TJQ, by the way. Don't know that one either. Oh, I just made it up. Bittersweet. I want one person out there. It's like TJQ, TJQ, TJQ on an 8chan or something like that. I know them all. That's my thing. I know them all. Bittersweet, I thought you said that they were fine. So wait, eradicated?
What what happened to them? That is a very interesting rodent you have. He's going to step forward. He looks very fascinated with the rat. Like it's like, oh, I dumpy dumpy of his own volition, like comes up and starts doing some flexing and posing. Yeah, I mean, you earned that body. You got to show it off. You worked hard for it. So something affected him. Yeah, you worked really hard for it. So something affected him in the mansion earlier and that appeared to have been accelerated a few minutes ago when the crystal in the other room went all flashy. I put I put I like put dumpy down and I write, where are the kids?
Yeah, yeah, it's like... Think of the children. Yes. Can we go back to the eradication terminology? What happened to the children? Well, I didn't mean to be so blunt about it, but while they snuck into that door upstairs, you found in my office next to the hate mural and switches were flipped, levers were pulled and the fail safe contingency, the big red button, I called it. Well, that it erased that entire place from existence. And you didn't think to like put a, you know, do not press unless kind of sign on it or anything. You didn't think not to press a random big red button?
Calypso was very pointedly not looking at Matilda right now. Well, it wasn't a very good fail safe if I, a person who didn't know what anything did, was able to figure out how to press it, huh? I'm not appreciating your tone. However, I didn't have a lot of time to set things up. Everything in the house was meant for me. I knew what it did. I had a system. OK, Jason. We're like closed in, right? Like the door is closed on here. I have chairs and stuff would appear, too. He's not like, OK, I put... I put Fenris in a chair and I open the door. So they're just dead, that's it?
We just led two children to their deaths. OK, that's... Well, again, this depends on your definition. They've been eradicated. Their entire beings have been stripped away, presumably. I've never actually hit the big red button before. Presumably. So you don't know what it does? Well, I know what the button does. I know what it does to that space. There was something horrible that I had locked away there. I couldn't build the space without that creature appearing. I tried several times, but... So you destroyed the space and rebuilt it several times and... It always whatever that horrible thing is, came back?
It would come back larger each time the space would be here. Oh, good. So then it can't eradicate everything if that was there. I don't know if that was the same creature, but the same type of creature. My theory is that creating space of that size had the negative effect of creating some sort of energy waste dump, like a runoff of sorts. This is mainly for my interest. But how are you doing this building? Because it's not like anything I am aware of in the arcane. Well, we only have a few hours, so I'll get to the point. I was a member of the elite for quite a few years, and I essentially had access to materials and knowledge that the average person would never come across.
And I used that in a very negative fashion for most of my life. Creating that space was my attempt to do something positive. Just didn't quite work out. If it only just kept making that whatever it was making, why did you leave it open? Why not just eradicate it? I tried erasing and creating, and I tried that several times. Each time the space would become more twisted and corrupted and I didn't want to try again in the hopes that maybe I could just pinpoint the creature and eradicate that. I just never quite found a way to do it. Yeah, so why not just stop?
I don't... Why would you leave it around? Possibility. I'm sorry, your name again was? Matilda and yours? Abernathy's fine. The difference between a regular person and someone that you might want to read about one day is that you don't give up on a project, you stick with it, you find a solution. I just ran out of time before I could do that. I mean, that's science, right? That's not my area of expertise, but you just you keep trying different things and... And this is going to be inspired by Abernathy because his whole thing is about second chances and possibility and changing your fate and, you know, all those cliches.
He's all for it. And so when he says you, you try again and again and again for a different outcome, and while that's insanity for some, Fenris is seeing like a... connection. So he's he's now trying to gleam as much as possible and taking an extra notice on this that maybe there's something more. OK, so putting all that aside for now, because that's... So this all started, at least for me, because we are actually related, you said? We are, yes. And... So this didn't have... So me inheriting this did not have anything to do with Firebrand and the... lovely scene we saw upstairs with the party.
Not directly, but I was a bit shocked when I found out that my one living heir happened to be impacted by the very thing I want you to stop. I can only imagine it would be a motivator. Yes. I mean. So certainly in some ways, I don't think I've... There's been a lot that we've encountered over the past day here. And once I've managed to actually process everything that we've uncovered, it will probably turn into motivation of a sword. I just... It's all been a lot to take in. A nurse is going to set up out of the chair, totally exhausted and have like an idea.
You said you created this space over and over. You said it takes the being, it eradicated their beings. Is it possible to bring... If you could create this space, is there any way we could take that and bring them back in any way? If you have all this power or some guide or some way to just undo or bring back them or somehow take that if there's just a chance? I should clarify, I didn't create the space. I found the space. The space is unlimited. What was inside of the space, the doors, the hallways, everything within it was created by me. I... Imagine...
There's a space in between realities. It's like dropping something behind your desk, something like that. But this is forgotten. It's almost like... If there are gods, this was just unused space for them. It's like no clipping. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Gosh, it's such a cool concept. So how do you get rid? If the space exists and you find it. And I'm granted, I don't understand it the way you understand it. How can you eradicate it if you're just finding it? Doesn't that mean that potentially they're not eradicated? They're just lost in the space? That is quite the possibility.
I can only eradicate what I've created, obviously. Or Matilda did in this case. Yes, it's possible that they're still alive, but they would be cast into an infinite dimension. It could take lifetimes to find them again. Oh, good. So we maybe didn't kill them. We just trapped them in an eternal torment. They might have time to get to know each other on the bright side. It also does like a kind of sharp sort of chuckle at that, like. Can Fenris try something? Sure. Can he try to communicate with his patron about trying to find some thread of where they are? Sure.
So, OK, let me ask a question. Is it so there's a couple of different ways to do this. Unconsciousness is one of the easiest ones. Is this a thing where like meditation, too, but there could be distractions with meditation. You can also just think really hard, but that's the hardest way to go about it. So like, how how does Fenris want to do this? I want to relate to the group that I'm going to be doing this to. So they don't think I'm just going to go to sleep and be like, oh, screw this, go to bed because I'm just warging in front of them. So I'm going to I'm going to look at bittersweet.
I look at Matilda and I look at Calypso and I say, I'm going to see if I can find them through another means and maybe through his help, find some way to bring the kids back. So it may not work. It could be too far, might not work, but I'm going to try something because I don't want to give up on them. And I'm going to like sit down and kind of like rest, but like in a resting motion, like sit my back against like a chair, the chair and kind of just like slip over and kind of try to get into it. As it were, let go of who I am to go like I would go and communicate with her, even if it would be a sleep and a dream, because it's all about that.
Does anyone have like what is the reaction to that? Yeah. I mean, at this point, like, I mean, it's might as well like Fenris seems pretty out of it. Anyways, this seems to think I'm crazy. Like he's exhausted. Like, you know, if that's how he feels, you know, let him cook, you know. Also, he's there in this room where all this crazy shit's been said and done anyway. It's like, yeah, it's like whatever. Right. Like, sure, Fenris. Uh huh. Good luck. 99. I mean, it was like the off chance that actually works. Like it's not like Wilco has any idea or anything else that could possibly be used to try and help them.
So, yeah. Yeah. Any idea is a good idea at this point. That's yeah. Well, let's. OK, Fenris is going to do that. We're going to put a pin in it. Just actually describe to me what how you go about it. Like, what do you just paint a picture? OK, well, I sit Indian-ish style back against the chairs and I like slip over. It's super uncomfortable looking, but it's the way you have to be. There's to be like I feel like there's to be like a thread of consciousness so you don't go to fully asleep and then lose it. And then he imagines himself like walking into like a pool of water and the water is purple and it's there and kind of like lets them float into the water until he falls into the like basically drowns in it.
But like in the image, just basically releases himself into there. And when he does that, there might even be a little bit of glow around him. Maybe, maybe not. In his mind, it looks like he is. But who knows if other people perceive it? I picture like that's Fenris' like that's Fenris' mental take on like surrendering to the thing and whether it like that's you going halfway and whether it chooses to reciprocate and accept you. So like I'd imagine it's like, oh, there's some comforting tentacles that are going to wrap around you and pull you in deeper.
And then it's just the blackness like, OK, I like that. I like that. That's comforting. That's soothing. Put a pin in that. Let's come back to that. Has he ever done that before? Not that I'm aware of, but I mean, I haven't known him that long. Well, it seems as though your friend has a demonic patron and. Well, that just opens up all kinds of interesting possibilities, but we only have so much time. Yeah, yeah, because here's another crazy thing to say. How long ago did the gods thing happen? It was pretty recently, right? Yeah, you're you're only talking about like almost four years now.
OK. But he died after that happened. I think if I understand the title incorrectly. The new gods thing is pretty damn recent. That's what I was released. Oh, so, yeah, I was. Yeah. The the new gods, it's only been a period of about six months, not even. OK, so that's yeah. And is that like common knowledge now? Like there are people there definitely there are people running around talking about it. There are people screaming in the streets. It's that kind of level at this point. And you're hearing it. You're hearing their stories like it's like, OK, if this is a group of people, they're just running around talking like crazies, but they're in different towns.
They got the they got the rap down, man. Like everyone has a pamphlet or something like they, you know what I mean? So in China, a little bit of credibility. Can you tell that he's community with a demonic presence? Oh, I I've seen this before. That's all. I had a friend, a close friend, actually. It was a very powerful warlock, but he gave up a lot to get that power. I guess I'm one to talk, though. How about we talk about the doors in front of you? Each one of these doors corresponds to a different area in the city of Brightport. I designed these as a way to get around the city very quickly.
Eventually, I wanted to take the door upstairs and add it to the collection. Sort of infinite housing space for those who couldn't afford their own. If I had my way, it would even be sort of a new bright port. The elite doesn't have access to this. You do. And this would be a very powerful weapon in the war you're going to fight against them. I would hope. He's down the street on this. You're super in type of thing. Yeah. Yeah. Calypso. So wait for what? I don't think they're going to bring that up at the moment, because right now they're just focused on like getting him to talk about what the hell is going on here.
Just like, sure. Yeah. Yeah. Like, OK, yeah. More. Sure. Uh huh. What power is that running off of? I mean, I. There must be some sort of an incredible power source that's instant transportation like that is not cheap. You are absolutely correct. And sadly, the power that I used to tie these points in space together is not infinite. It will run out eventually. If there's a space in the next room, where you'll find how much time you have left, it's essentially a power source that you can use as much as you like until it's out. But once it's out, I don't believe there's a way to replicate it.
Where did it come from? How did you get that in the first place? I had a connection in Brightport via the Cornada family. I know their patriarch quite well, and they knew someone in Uminiero. And I ended up bringing them into the house. We collaborated. It took quite a long time and it was put in no uncertain terms that this probably shouldn't be replicated. So you just got a bunch of wizards to come here and set you up? You set you up with an impossible amount of power for teleportation doors. It's not quite that clean, but that's the short version of it.
Are you familiar with the war forged, the technology, the guards they had in Uminiero? Uh, vaguely. They were all... They made magical servants or something, and then ended up kicking them out. And then the Overwatch made their own variety at some point. But they were all well, the war forged, where most of them were destroyed a few years ago, as far as I understand. Well, each one of those used to be a person. Their soul was used to power the suits of armor, essentially wiping their memory and giving them a new purpose. Essentially, each war forged is a dead person.
Then each one of these doors is a dead child. Let me explain. That is so... Yeah, that's instantly like his hand comes up to his head. It's like I'm getting ahead of myself. Hold on. Let me... Yeah, like you can't... Bad pitch. Hold on. Hold on. Let's go back. Let's go back to the weird shit they did. Ian called it. Yeah. Dude, I didn't want to get it. It's like, damn good. I know you're joking, but OK, we're going to get into it. Because he kept like... He did like he kept a word of like, yeah, where'd you get this powerful? But he kept kind of like not answering that.
Like, OK, like what's going on here? Because you're not. Yeah. Yeah. And the orphans are in the Post-It notes. Like that makes it so much worse. All right. Let me explain before anyone gets upset. I ran a school for a short time. I wanted to teach local children music. And obviously, I taught them some magic here and there. When I decided to shut the school down, most of the children, they went on their merry way, but some wanted to stay. Eventually, I did tell them about the horrible things that I've done in Brightport, to Brightport, the people of Brightport, and they wanted to help me correct those mistakes.
When I said that you can't replicate the power source, I'm saying you shouldn't replicate that power source. Every child that is caught up in all of this. And like he's gesturing to the house itself. Gave their lives willingly to help put an end to the suffering in the city. I imagine that's going to create more questions now that I say all of it out loud. How many doors are there? So you remember the dots on the map? There's a door for every one of those. And there's like 15 doors in this room. There's a lot of dead kids caught up in all this, like a lot.
Calypso just kind of like they sit down and just... What about the door upstairs? Oh, no children were harmed in the making of that door. Well, I suppose two were, but that's not my fault. Yeah, are we still staying on us? I'm giving you a chance to... I thought about it, I'm going to give you a chance to take a breath. This is a lot. This is what I like to call gun to your head role play where, you know what I mean? It's very it's like, oh, God, like there's a lot riding on this. So just relax. Yeah, James, you're up. Interesting. It's about to get way fucked up, like way weird.
Let's do it. OK. The last thing Dagon's going to remember is falling, falling into this infinite dark. Right. Like, you know, you're falling because you could feel that sensation and there's nothing around you. And like, Tani is going to be cast into this infinite shadow. You're, you know, you're careening and then everything's going to get very bright. And that feeling of falling is going to stop. And you're going to you're going to feel this this hand kind of like gently kind of pat you on on the face. Hey, hey, get up. Come on. Hey, what just happened? A lot of stuff.
We're going to get into it. Don't worry. But come here. And so as you kind of kind of bleary open your eyes, there is a bright white room, very small. And there's like a little like a little four by four table sitting. And yeah, there's your table now. That's the. And this this this this tiefling woman is going to kind of offer offer her hand, she's got like the shortcut of messy bob haircut and like she's acting like this is the most normal thing in the world. Just it's like, OK, come on, hop up. He's going to go instinctually to take her hand, but he's going to stop himself and pull it back and say, where's Tani?
Man. Wow, there's a lot to get into there. Well, she's having a separate conversation. Right now, we're just talking to you. Oh, that's my friend. And she's going to point to this. She looks like a regular tiefling. This this thing, like you can't tell if it's like presenting male or female. It's got this blue shimmering skin all over kind of. It looks like it's like a foil metallic Pokemon card constantly being turned. You know what I mean? Like it's it's doesn't look like any race, you know, of. OK, he's just going to look at this thing just. Puzzled, interested, fascinated and.
Where am I? Who are you? Oh, yeah, sorry, I get caught up. I kind of want to get to the next part, but yeah, I'm Yashti, that there's Eros and well. We're gods. Ta-da! It's OK, you don't have to bow or anything like that, I just we just want to talk. Why have you brought me here? I could put you back, but I don't think you'd like it. Come on, we're going to play a game. Just just come on. There's not a third choice here. I have to be here with you. OK, rude. Firstly. I mean, I. Wow. I have never had anyone talk to me like that. Because you're a god? No, no, no, I just haven't been around that long.
OK, I know your people have a really complicated history with the gods. That is burnt toast under the bridge. We're going to forget about it. We're moving on. It's a new day. You're technically kind of a different version of them anyway, so it's fine. You know about that, do you? Oh, yeah. I know about a lot of stuff. OK, I'm curious. What are we doing? Well, she's going to go over to the table and and kind of pass Eros and Eros is just reading a book paying you no mind, really. Every once in a while, kind of like like looking over. But for the most part, just kind of just doing their own thing.
Ayashti is going to go over to the table and then kind of take these leaves out. And it's like this little gaming table type of setup. And there is a big 20 sided die sitting in the center of this table being covered up. So we're going to play a little bit of a game. But first. I want to talk to you for 10 minutes after that, you can go do whatever you want. A game. Yeah. I'm kind of into it. It's my thing. Sure. Why not? After what's happened, a game. Yeah, play a game. I want to be clear. We didn't do anything with what just happened. I could tell you who did, but I think you'd be mad.
That wasn't it, that thing that was chasing us? No, no, no, no, no, no. That was just I mean, that that was just kind of it's kind of part of it. Anyway, look, she didn't mean to kill you. I mean, you know, it just happened. She who or sorry, wink. Don't know. Do I want to know? Well, that's up to you. I can't tell you if you want to know. We don't have dominance over free will and stuff because we tried it. It didn't work. It was stupid. Is Tani OK? Next question. What did that? OK, look, just like we're having a conversation with you, there's a couple of other guys who wanted to speak to her.
Just kind of, you know, she's a different personality. I don't think he would like her. But you come from a very educated part of the world. But it's weird. And you're kind of an anomaly. So he mostly wanted to talk to you. He hasn't said anything yet, but he will. He's just soft spoken. He doesn't like to talk all that much. And I love to talk so. And then you can send me back to that place. Sure. So let's talk. About how you shouldn't technically exist in the first place. So a long time ago, this was several versions of day gone ago. You're like, well, you're you're.
OK, imagine an author writes a series of books and then some new author comes in and just releases the 90th successful version. But it's written by a different person. That's kind of what you are. Like a variant? Perfect. Love it. Yes. You're kind of a copy of a thing that. It. Well, it doesn't make you any less real. Like you're sitting here and you know. That's great. But I was asked by Eros to ask you if you're happy with the direction you're taking in life in general or currently. Well, the direction you were going in life currently is down. I mean, before that.
Yes, I was. Soul searching, you could say. Searching for myself, in fact, or another variant. I mean, that wasn't going too well, but I was close. Yeah, I need that. I need that answered. I need to know. Yeah, no, that's great. I just thought of the rules to this game before I only had pieces. I didn't have the rules set up. This is great. OK, so here's the way it's going to work. You get to ask me a question, and if I know the answer, which I probably do, I'll answer it and I'll just tell you whatever it is. In turn. You owe me a favor. It's going to be so fun.
I'm not like I don't. Here's the thing. I don't want to hurt you. I don't want to hurt your friends, but. You'll see it's super cool. No. Oh. I would not be indebted to a god. You're not in debt. It's just the rules of the game. A favor. Well. All right, then what do you want to give? I can't ask you questions. I want to go home. They're probably trying to figure out a way to get me. I'm sure they know what's going on. But they're kind of taking it all in. So they do. Well, they've been told about what should have happened to you, and I'm sure that it's on their checklist of things to do, but they've got a lot right now, like a lot.
Do you want to know what they're doing? They're looking for me. Hi. What are they doing? Oh, yes, I love this part. OK, so no, wait. That's not my question. But it was a question. I had a question mark at the end of it. I heard it. No, you tricked me. Try to. I won't fall for that. I will wait right here until they come get me. It's that simple. She OK, she's literally going to huff and just like sit in a chair and just like pout kind of. It's like this. This sucks. You're not being fun. This this. What are you doing? But one that you're a tiefling, you don't pout. OK, firstly, I just look like a tiefling, and that's for your benefit from my belt if I want to.
Yeah. It's for my benefit. You can change your shape and look like an aladrin. OK, we're not going to dig into all of that, but OK, fine. And she'll change shape and she'll she'll you know, she'll look like your mom. Is that a mom joke? No, I just think this is amazing. I love her so much. This is like a take on like, oh, yeah, just the casual racism comes out. There you go. And while you're doing that, like you were also with the book, it's like like just kind of like look down his like got weird ass eyes, but it's just kind of like, oh boy, this is not this is not going like she wanted and just kind of like letting her, you know, let her do her thing.
But like you could tell he's becoming impatient or whatever it is. No, no, don't do that. Be someone else. Another Aladrin or? Be a mushroom for all I care, not my mother. Leave my mother out of this. OK, I'm glad I didn't turn into the other version of her mother. OK, fine. And. She's she's she's just going to turn back into the tiefling like just it's like, OK, it's fine, it's fine. We'll just we could sit here. I was hoping we could have a little fun. It might have been a nice break from everything you've been doing, but it's fine. I want to know your favor first before I ask you my question.
Well, I didn't think that far ahead. I don't have one. I just. OK, look, how about this? So I will be called upon when the time comes, blah, blah, blah. Probably when I'm bored. It gets boring. You guys move slow. OK, I'll give you a perfect example. It's been like three days for you getting to Brightport in this house. For me, it felt like years. Jason is sort of. (laughter) In-universe characters complaining about a recording schedule. That's how bad it's gotten. Is it better or worse than it's a god? Is it does it help or? The gods aware of when we record. Dagon's probably trying.
He's probably questioning in his mind, are they are they actually going to come get me? Can they even come get me? Then he probably thinks that if he goes along with this. They can get him out of it. So. Let's say I play along. She's going to perk up like immediately. Any question? Sure. You know everything. Well, I know most things. Here's the thing. I'm going to level with you. I'm I'm knowledge isn't my thing. That's his thing. And she's going to point over to be Ross. I'm more fly by the seat of your pants type. That's, you know, sounds reckless. Yeah. It's a compliment like immediately.
It's like, yeah, you get it. I love this god so much. And you didn't want to interview Tani. I'm sure you both would get along. Oh, no, I I adore her. But so. So she's doing blood magic. And a couple of other guys wanted to talk to her about that, or specifically, it was more about her vocation, that her personality. And they kind of thought if they put us into a room, we wouldn't shut up. They're right. Where is the Dagon that founded house Dragon's Cube? OK, bit of a long story. You got time. And she's just going to like wave at all for you. OK, so he is super dead.
And I'm going to tell you this story. And you're going to think you're going to know where it's going. And you're not going to know where it's going. That version of Dagon was a real dick at first. He just it was kind of like so, man, by the time he founded that house, he was over a century old, pretty lonely guy, been searching around. And he had kind of pissed off an old version of a god and your people, not your people, but the version of your people that you're copying locked us away. And again, we're past it. It's fine. Everything's fine. But that version of Dagon helped set us free, but kind of sacrificed a lot to do it and almost sacrificed himself and then got back and his mom stabbed him to death.
I'm probably skipping over some stuff, but that's that's that's basically the short version. What? Oh, stabbed him. Good. What? Yeah, we were all shocked. Everyone just kind of went, what? What? No, my mother wouldn't do that. Well, not your mother, but your mother did. What? Different mother. Kind of. It's look, the point is she did it for a real good reason. She killed her own child for a good reason. Well, he'd been through a lot, and this was kind of too into suffering, let's say. OK, is it my turn? Hold on a second. Sure. I don't know if I'll ever process that.
OK, look, there's data logs you can listen to, but it's hours long. I'm just trying to save you the trouble. But even despite that, my mother's not going to be able to do that. My own mother killed a version of me. Even despite that, I was here, I was in Brightcore to find him and he's dead. Well, yeah, people die. I figured you'd be happy I saved you the time. What? You could still go to the house. The house is still there. It's really nice. Dragon's dead, though. Oh my. It's kind of peaks and valleys, isn't it? Well, generally things are not good, are they?
Well, that depends on where you're looking. You got a nice new girlfriend, is all that. That's not bad. No, no. Come on. We all saw. Come on. Saw what? We didn't see anything. You guys wrote a tongue together. You don't do that with someone you just don't like. It was small space. No. We were. It was dangerous. That's what makes it hot. I know. I have other friends. There's arrangements. (laughter) Oh my God. This is amazing. I love this. No. Does this take the pressure off you, Kelsey? This is like. I'm losing it. This is so good. This is the best. She's incredible. Anyway.
How am I supposed to deal with all this? Well. Look, okay. You're. I don't know if I can look at my own mother the same way now. Well, I think as long as you face her and keep your eye on her, you'll be fine. Oh, careful about any tight hugs. I can tell you that for free. Oh my God. I'm dying. This is so. So my mother killed me in that life. And I bet you're going to tell me that one of my friends killed me in this life. No. Unless that's a question. I don't know. Do I have another question? You have one question you want? Do I have to give you two favors? Is it a favor per question?
No, I'm. Look, okay. I didn't kill you. I don't know why you're coming at me with all this hostility. I'm trying to like, I just. I'm too upset. Us non gods get upset. I get it. You know what? I get a bird's eye view of everything. I get time to take stuff in. I get it. It's the transition from living to not living can be very jostling to some people. So look, okay. How about this? We'll get this out of the way. Eros over here is of the opinion that you're a very interesting character. You are a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy. And it's interesting because you're not a different.
A different realities Dagon. You're this reality's Dagon. But you're a younger, hotter version of that Dagon. What happens when I get older? Well, it's you kind of got a grizzled daddy thing going on, but like an eladrin thing. So you're still very clean looking. It's just, you know. Okay. Some, some, some people get off on the knowledgeable father figure thing. And you know, you got that in spades. You've been around the world a few times. You, you know, stuff. See, I wanted that knowledge. Oh, you could still get it. You just don't have to be depressed for a century.
That's what I'm saying. You have a completely different set of friends too. Once that nevermind, but you have a completely different set of friends. You have a different life and well, Eros wants to see it continue. And we kind of had a vote and we don't like handing out freebies and we especially don't like people knowing that we're watching. And then they could get a freebie because then you got, it messes with free will. So here's what I'm going to do. You get to go back one time and kind of finish your story. However long that takes could take a century.
You get all that daddy knowledge, but here's the thing. You're taking this die with you and she's going to kind of like push it towards you, not roll it, but like push it over. And at some point in your life, you have to roll it. You familiar with this? The one is bad. The 20 is good. That's the highest number on it. We have games in Odysseus. Okay. Okay. Okay. You struck me more as like a risk family. Well, yes, but... I love chess. What is the catch to this die? What do you mean I have to roll it? When do I roll it? Whenever you want. And what does it do? You roll it as soon as you get back.
What does it do? Well, I can't tell you what depends on what you roll, right? So, okay. A one is real bad. Don't roll that. But a 20 is really good. I encourage you to roll that. Do I have to roll the die? At some point in your life, yes. What if I die when I go back and I don't have a chance to roll the die? Ah, we thought of that. Upon your death, it will be rolled and whoever you're near will just have to deal with it. And if you're thinking of going all hermit on us, we can fix that too. Although for a short time might be good to get the daddy knowledge, but we can deal with that later.
This poses a serious problem for me, you realize. Yeah. No, I don't think you do. I can't go home. Why not? If you send me back, I cannot go home. Because I've been marked by you. By Eros. Eros, but go ahead. Some people pronounce the E soft and I don't know why. Eros sounds more dignified. Come on. He's going to like look up from the book like, hmm, and just not say anything. Just like doing his thing. You know how the eladrin feel about you and your kind. OK, I did say that that was in the past. I kind of was hoping we'd all move on. Nobody changes. Well. OK, I either looking at exile or maybe hopefully.
They can fix this. Fix what? This. Wait, you mean us? I mean this. Oh, I think we're playing a new game. OK. OK. So Eros here has a theory that you can't change, that what's written is written. And even though you exist in completely different circumstances and you could see your older selves elsewhere in the world, that you're going to make the same mistakes that your younger older selves did. Does this make sense? Basically, your copies of people from 100 years ago and you're going to live out to make their mistakes. People don't change. I think they do. I think the circumstances being completely different, we're going to get a completely different outcome.
The odds are totally different. I want to see you live and be different. Why so much interest in me? Bored. That's it. Yeah. People die every day and you chose me because you were bored. Well, OK. People like you don't die every day. There were a bunch of dead kids. We didn't do anything. It was kind of before us, but like it's whatever. And there's a favor on top of this die. No, no, no. That is the favor. That's the favor. It'll spice things up. So we don't like to directly do anything. This is kind of an exception. But if we do this, then it's there's a random element to it.
We don't know what's going to happen. Hypothetically, let's say I gave you the die. What situation do you think you would roll the die in? If it were me, it would probably be a bar crawl or in a situation where you figure you're going to die anyway. At least your death will be interesting. So it really doesn't matter? No, of course it matters. Don't do it when it wouldn't be interesting. That would be boring. Do it when something big is on the line. Think of it this way. If you think you're going to die anyway and you roll the die and then something cool happens, it might completely change the odds.
Or if you think you're going to die and you roll terribly, you might be squished by something completely different. You'll never even see it coming. Come on. All right. All right. Yeah. Nice. OK. He will reach over and grab the die. I'm so proud of you, Dagon. Well, I don't have much choice, do I? Of course you do. You can say no. Then you throw me back into the void? It's more like a draw. If I wouldn't throw you, that'd be mean. It wasn't fun. Tani's fine, by the way. She's already back. Yeah, no, she had a completely different conversation. She was much more willing to go along.
You're stubborn. I am just not chaotic. I like to think about things. That's the first time she looked offended. Like she looked... Yeah, no, she had a completely different conversation. And yeah, so if that helps, should I have told you that like five minutes ago? Because like that could have sped things along since you're so in love. I'm glad she's OK. Where did she go? Is that a question? Not if there's a string attached to it. I'm joking. God. Yeah, she's in the same room where you guys disappeared. She's just outside of the door that doesn't exist anymore.
So we figured that's it's like a safe point. Is that where I'm going? Is that where you want to go? Run to her, Dagon, run to her. She doesn't know about your conversation any more than you know about hers. If that makes you feel any better. OK. I don't know. Just send me back. OK. So your friends are downstairs in the basement. They've been through a lot, too, in a different way than you, though. It's more mental stress. Yeah. OK. You may want to talk to... No, please. Can I ask what happened to them? Oh, well, they're sort of meeting the ghost of the person who owned this house before, who blended up dead kids in order to get power and kind of make sure his lawn was manicured.
There's more to it. I'm making it sound terrible. OK. Oh, any knowledge I could take back? Yes. I'm sort of a keeper of knowledge, actually. That's what Eros likes. Eros said to tell your friend who reads not to touch stuff so much. Right. We could get someone hurt one day. It did. Oh, you pieced it together? OK. Well, anyway, don't hit her. Bye. I guess. Do you want a hug? I can hug you. OK. All right. I know you want a hug. She's going to snap her fingers and you're going to be back in that room absent one door that leads to nowhere. And I think that's a good time for us to stop for the evening.
Oh, my gosh. That's good. Well, I have an important question. What style of D20 are we rocking here? What's the. So this is a. So in my head, this is like a plain D20 and then as soon as Dagon touched it, it kind of takes on it kind of takes on his aesthetic. So I imagine it's one of those metal singing D20s that you get where it jingles when you thought like a very elegant Aladrin type of work. We're talking one hundred dollars set of dice here. At least. At least. Yeah, it's it's yeah. Very scripty looking numbers. Oh, yeah. Like almost unreadable. Yeah. Oh, my gosh, that's I apologize for being so confrontational.
No, it was perfect. I'm just like, let's do this to you. Like, no, he would say that really like you played Dagon as a teenager so well. I think it'd be weird if you went, OK, like, yeah, yeah, well, that's what I'm saying. No, no, no, no. I think you should change your name in the Discord channel to Daddy Knowledge. That's our new word for the day. I've been wanting to play the new gods for a while and this is one of the first times where it's like, that was wonderful. I love Yashti so much. She's my patron. She's a patron of one of the Java kids, I think.
Yes. Yes. Yes. Oh, man. Maybe I got Xavier plays. Once he hears this, I might have to go to Java. I might have to show up. I'm playing an Eladrin copy to Tynos too. It's such a weird situation to be in. Like, if you're one of those Eladrin, it's got to be so fucked up. Oh, yeah, it's great. Mine's not depression. That's fair. Imagine there's an older version of you out there and you know, you're technically not the real one, but like it's it's. Belle is right. He's Dagon 2 and it was Mother 1. Let's stab Dagon 1. Yeah, I love this. Just don't give her any tight hugs.
I like how I admitted all the reason behind. Dude, there are so many good meta jokes to have. Like, it's really good. Oh, my gosh. They about like so much fun. It was years for us. This one time I watched this group be in an attic for three weeks. I remember those episodes. That was well done, everyone. That was. Yeah. Guys, you're all doing so fucking good. And that was our second session for January. I'm going to loop you in more next time. Like, I'm going to bring you like I want to I want to I want to bring bittersweet more into things. All right. Yeah, I need bittersweet help.
You're the boss. You're the boss. Fenris is going to be able to ask any questions. Thank you. You.
