And then you land and just kind of boom, you're here in the mountains. A lot was dropped on you in that conversation. It's not like you had a ton of time to talk about it with each other. It was more this is what's going to happen. How do you feel that went? Good? Bad? Like, is it on par with what you thought was going to happen? >> So I didn't think we were going to get that much force behind it. I thought if anything, it would have been more persuasive and then it would have just been like, OK, fledglings, you do your thing. And if it seems to be promising at some point, then I'll bestow my blessing.

Like I thought at best we'll be allowed to walk out of there with her blessing. And that's about it. Getting a demand about the change is not I didn't expect that much. >> Yeah, I think Zozo is pretty happy with Ruthamart taking ownership of the plan. Denver's like the least international. I don't know how that makes sense. But like, I don't know. It's just weird. Anyway, this flight only takes a couple of seconds. But you're you're kind of guessing it's part flight part teleportation, right? Like there's it's almost a cloud of these little dragging wings. And then like as your vision clears, it's like there's a rash like it's you were already in the mountains. You were already near there somewhat. But we can see it like it's yeah, you're like it's there. You're like a mile outside of it. Like you could see guards posted up in the distance and stuff like. >> So we're flying in and like I can see my house from here. >> Oh, yeah, definitely.

Like she was not fucking around. It's like, all right, go tell them. >> Like, all right. So we've had the second already where like the freakout is happening and we're trying to figure out what's going on and then we get set down. I think the first reaction is to kind of look back to where we came, get our bearings and then kind of that slow pan over realizing where we are and how close we are. He sits there for a second as I'm sure most of us are with just kind of taking an all and then he's going to turn back to the group approaching. We got blown out of that tunnel. There was all kinds of treasure on the top of that mountain right out of the front of the tunnel. By chance, none of that treasure happened to be blown out after us landing right behind us on the mountain. Obviously Orash is connected by, you know, dozens and dozens and dozens of these large wooden bridges, right? I think a lot of people think the rickety, like the way they're portrayed a lot of the time, they're like rickety Indiana Jones bridges. These things are big, like they can support, they have to support a lot of weight and stand up to weather. So a lot of what you're going to see are those very large bridges kind of like moving kind of subtly in like these big gusts of wind. Everything here is meant to stand up to that weather, those nasty thunderstorms, the torrential wind blasts, all that stuff.

And of course, they're just kind of hard on buildings. So as you approach the first set of bridges that are going to take you into or start to take you into the city proper, you're going to see a couple of guards posted above the bridge itself. Both, you know, both are kind of they have axes and stuff, but they're kind of like stowed away because they see that you're Dragonborn approaching. However, there are a couple of problems like they're, you know, as you approach and get close enough so that they can hear you, they probably shout down toward you.

Who goes there? Jason, what's the like formal military salute that they have here? Well, I pictured it as like a fist bang on the chest, you know, like that sort of opening more of a barbaric type of. So what's wild here, and I've tried to come up with a way to describe this that isn't derogatory, but. Well, now, OK, OK, let me put it this way. There are those who are deemed fit to serve in the actual military of, you know, Orash culture, and those are the best of the best, the Spartans, if you will. Right. And it takes a lot of training, a lot of effort and just, you know, being gifted genetically to be a part of that.

But you're dealing with a society who all thinks they're the toughest. So you get kind of the Dragonborn equivalent of what has been called gravy seals, guys who think they're in the military and think they, you know, refer to people as civvies and they strut around and stuff, but they're 400 pounds and they use scooters at Wal-Mart and they, you know, like it's the men. Now, these guys are out of shape, you know, but they're not the elites. They wouldn't be guarding bridges if they were, you know, you know, but they're probably going to have a bit of an attitude about them.

So definitely the types to have, like a Punisher skull on the back of their Ford F-150 with the American flag draped over it, that kind of thing, you know, tell you who they are. Very draconic, but it's the Punisher skull. So, you know, it's got a snoop, so it's fine. I want to see that please. So bad. Someone, please, new shirt coming soon. I would buy that shirt. Ironically, maybe not ironically, it's so sad. Just that we just need to stick her. Stick her, it'd be good. So people in the actual military have a salute and then those around the, so you're, you're pretty close.

It's kind of a, you know, that, that, that like a, like a big taloned claw, like clamped down on their chest type of thing. And that would be more the military salute. So if you give that to them and they return with that, they better be able to prove that they are in like the active Arashian military, or that's a good way to get kicked off a fucking mountain. Most times they'll give you back a salute. That's kind of similar as similar as they can get without copyright infringement, basically. You know what I mean? Maybe like a closed fist over the chest, the same way, something like that.

You know what I mean? Like, yeah. So curve won't go like extremely formal with it. He'll keep it slightly informal, right? Closed fist over it's crib from back bound. And then if we, if there's like that hesitant, like, like type of thing happening, then he'll follow it up. Oh, Ruth Ammar. We spoke to her and we have her wishes. So as they're parsing the first bit of that, you know, we spoke with the ancient dragon. She says, it's cool. Like there's something. Exactly. So you know, one of them is going to whisper to the other one and the one's going to, they cut it back off away from the, the, the, the, the outcropping there to look down and you kind of back up.

It's like, well, they said the truth about, you know, that, that kind of, you know, and you can kind of hear them like whispering. Well, like the one who addressed you is going to lean forward again. They were told to look out for you, go back much sooner than anticipated. Feels like two and a half years, but yeah, I feel like it could have been much faster. Are you going to open the gate? Creature doing with you? A Ruth Ammar wishes him to be with us. The other one's going to chime in. Are we keeping pets now? Are you opening the gate or not? You want to delay the word of a Ruth Ammar?

Again that back off. And they're going to start to hoist, like hoist up the gate and have it open at your funeral. You want me to kind of, yeah, these guys to use a Dragonborn term, these guys are being cuts. Um, yeah, yeah. So you know, like that's not, yeah, this guy's being assholes. Yeah. Hey, uh, Chris, Chris, you want me to kick you through these guys off the mountain real quick, or are we just going to keep going? That may happen afterwards, but we need to go straight there. Okay. And he'll kind of struggle to you. And then like before we walk in just real quickly, he's going to look at Zozo, keep your head held high and just ignore him.

Yeah. Don't worry about me. And he'll like stand up straight, like gains like two inches high. And then he's going to, he looks at the two guards. Like, don't worry about me, I remember their faces. That's good. He'll give a quick like pat on the upper arm. Good. Olmo. Yeah. You and Clover and like points to Clover, you two stay next to each other. Yeah. And she'll cuddle up against his side. Okay. You got it boss. All right, let's go. And Cribs going to be walking through as if he's walking with purpose, not necessarily like too fast or too casual, but he's going to be walking with purpose with the plan to go straight to Balsk.

Showing you on the map there where you're coming from. And it is a long march over these bridges. So any time those gates open, you know, people like kind of like kind of like bristle a little bit because there's not a lot of dragonborn left. So people, you know, people leave the city to hunt. They do stuff like that. But usually there's announced times like when, you know what I mean? You guys just kind of seemingly appeared out of nowhere because there's scouts all over the mountains and you guys just it's like you just popped up. So it's a bit of a little bit of a shock.

So it's even more of a shock that you guys are alive to a lot of these people. You kind of get the sense that there may have been like a like a little pool going on or something like that. I'm with them. Yeah, I get it. I would bet against it to honest. So it's it's a little it's a little wild seeing you guys come back and so fast because it's only been it's only been a few weeks. Like it's not you know, that's that's not a lot of time to get. It's like, hey, climb down out of the mountains and then break the ancient curse. That's all you know. And then it's like and then speak with the dragon and just like you get that done.

Chop chop. That'd be great before summer. So there's a crowd gathering as you know, as you guys are crossing that and there's a lot of like murmured whispering and stuff. And there's a few actual military people who are showing up to kind of check this out because they probably being given the skin a skinny about like what you were sent out to do. So the first thing they're looking for, it's like you guys got like a horn. You have any signifier that like this is is a done deal. Are we back, baby? Like that, you know, there's kind of like a palpable excitement, but that's temped down considerably by the fact that you guys look like the goonies of the of, you know, of the dragon like, you know, Clover and Zozo alone.

You know, like one of you is former military, but old and burnt up. And you know, one of you, you know, fled the city to become a musician, which is, you know, it's like being a gay son in the 80s. Like it's you know, it's like, ah, we don't talk about, oh, no, not at dinner. Like, you know, and then the other two, one throws sparkles as an attack prowess and the other one's black. Like they just they're not into it. I know like it's not wrong. It's so there's a lot of attention being brought in and the crowd by the time you get across the bridges at the bridge, they'll make way for you.

But at half the speed you are walking, so you almost kind of like kind of like shoulder him a little bit so that they but they're they're checking you out like. Like a couple of the act like a couple of the military people might be addressing cribs like you have it. Like kind of like Murbritt under breath. And then there's probably some less than kind gestures being made to Zozo specifically. Clover is right there behind probably Clover, though, it's more OK. We love Mandy, right? Yeah, yeah, but Mandy Mandy has a reputation well earned of of breaking things, just the rights of being great at breaking things.

So Clover definitely has that stigma, too. And it's been it's like three weeks without Luna in the house. You kind of you miss her. But man, having curtains stay up was pretty great, too. So, you know, there's a couple of people like, ah, fuck, I'll put up the good dishes like that kind of thing. Like, you know, she's waiting and everybody is like, hello, grand return. Yeah, they're not being openly rude to you, but it's like fine. Cousin, cousin, tough walk, tough walk, walk like you're tough and proud and super important. Oh, please. What's your tough walk?

And then so she goes, OK, and she's like she's trying to be like Zozo, so she stands up kind of crooked. Good. It looks like she's like flexing her arms. So she's a little like all bent over, but like, grrr, I'm tough. Oh, I'm scared. Very proud. Oh, keep it up. Yeah, makes her walk crooked, but she's doing her best. Can I just roll something because I'm playing Zozo, he's as cool headed as possible, he's on a mission, he doesn't let any of it get to him. I don't know what I can do. That is, it would be just that easy for Zozo. And that's the thing. Like, I think going into it and I don't look I like they're doing things to try to get under your skin.

Like, it's not just you have to know we don't like you. It's trying to like make you feel unwelcome, make you freak out so that they can get you out of here. Like it's you know, I feel like that's like a wisdom save maybe. Does that sound like a wisdom save? Yeah, I think that's yeah, that's an emotional component. Yeah, it's like a mental attack. Like I put it up there with like a... Ooh, great. OK, that's a good indicator. I rolled a three. All right, where's the three jacket? OK, so there's a noise that they make and it takes you a couple of seconds, but it's them imitating like what they would call a lesser dragonborn, which is anyone who isn't read.

But in your case, it's like you're a mud dweller. You don't fight like it's like you don't fight like a man. You hide, you ambush at least the white dragonborn. They've you know, they're out of shape and disgusting, but at least they'll fight you like that type of thing. Like they're real shitty about it. But they kind of make a sound where they puff out their cheeks a little bit. The back of their throat is like a "ehh ehh" like it's a weird fake roar. And that's what it's like. That's you. That's how you sound like. You don't you know what I mean? Like it's a it's a weird taunt.

But like in their society, it's it's devastating. You're devastated right now. I mean, yeah, I'm a three three devastation for my friends. Maybe you'd probably notice like the shield, the facade dissipating. So like a lot more tense. His fists are like balled up and probably some like puffs of like black smoke like coming out of his nostrils. Like when he huffs and puffs, there's like actual little black smoke coming out. And since you said we probably notice it, I'm almost going to try and lean over to Zozo real quick and say, boy, are they going to feel all embarrassed when they when you remember that they talk to you like this and then it's revealed that you're one of the only people that are actually respects.

Oh, yeah. Embarrassed. I don't think embarrass is going to cover it. Yeah. Well, hopefully not too. You know what? Yeah. You know what? Joe, Joe, worry about me. I'm good. Yeah, you are. Like that. It's like just, you know. Mm hmm. So again, these guys are going to loom over you like some of them are, you know, in the sevens of tall like they're they're going to, you know, and they'll spread out, but just kind of like a like doing that shitty little like shoulder shove thing into you or something like that, just being dicks. And as as they kind of fan out, there's if you're making your way right for Balsk, right? There'd be like the big meeting tent in in the middle of Orash, you're on the center island already. So that's where we would be.

That's where all the military advisors end up. That's where, you know, that's that's that's where the big dog is. OK. You continue to walk that way, but he'd slow down just for a second to get the orb out and have that in his hand. And then he'd continue walking in. You guys ready? And as he as he approaches. He's trying not to. Not to go with the symbol of of arrogance or now you report to me type of entrance. It's more of the OK, I have something to report and I'm coming directly to you. OK, so. When you walk into this tent and calling it a tent is it it's it's more grand than that.

This is a giant yurt. Yeah, yurts a great word. We don't get to use that word enough. Don't. Yeah, it's a powerful word. Yurts a word that that that has a power squat stance like all the time like. So. Balski is going to be there. Balski is one of the largest, nastiest dragonborn here on the mountain, as you know, that that just kind of happens. That's that's that's how their society works. But there's a lot of like slightly older military leaders and stuff here, too. And what it appears as though is happening is there's a map set up and they're already planning expansion like they are.

It's like, all right, we're going to move down for the mountains and then eventually what they want to do is take over. They want to just take over the entire East Coast, like start in the north, go all the way down and just, you know, have not the entire thing, but they want to have multiple small cities set up, essentially. Do the or do the arrests you dragonborn even have the. Army size, the military size for that to even seem feasible. No, not yet. But what they're what they're thinking is we're going to walk in with this big fucking gun in the form of a Ruthmar and we could put three people here and you're still going to, you know, like that's that's the thinking.

It's not particularly clever or, you know, well rounded. But yeah, so, you know, Balski is going to be on the other side of this table, just kind of like looming over, like moving pieces around. And then he he knows that there was something going on outside. But he's not going to show weakness enough to go. And like, he's not going to go to you. It's it's like it's total, you know, the political component. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got to show strength, blah, blah, blah. But when you guys walk into this tent, he's going to he's going to like stand upright and kind of like push away from this table and move toward the center and those those military guys are going to back away.

You bring one of them to my tent. He's looking at Zozo. Zozo. Yeah, Zozo keeps looking at Kriv. I will not look at Balski. You got this boss, Arctic Inspiration, just in case. Oh, nice. Thank you. Now, since this guy's been in control before his leadership, there was kind of a a goblin ask hierarchy where someone would take over, someone would fall, and the rains were very short. This is the longest rain there's been in a while. But he's not a jovial guy. So like you don't see him happy or celebrate, but like he's got these deep inset red eyes. They almost they almost kind of seem to glow, but they you know, it's just the light. But his face is going to contort into this grinch like like smile like he is.

And he is going to take this giant paw of his and just slap it down on your on your shoulder. And it's kind of like, I can't believe it. I underestimated you. We all and he's going to like gesture to everyone else in the tent. We all underestimated you. And the other the other hand is going to come down on your shoulder and he's going to pull you close to his face again, just kind of like looming over you. Because of you. We are going to take back our rightful place in society. Do you understand the magnitude of what you've done? After seeing Ruthmar, I do.

And we will create a new empire. A new society that's going to be bigger than we have ever seen in our history. But it's a different picture from what a Ruthmar wants. A Ruthmar wants that empire in a different shape than the way you want it. And Cribs trying to stand as confidently as he can with that being. Probably the biggest bomb drop so far. And, you know, that kind of sets the stage for. The reality and the gravity of the change. Everyone, you know, every one of these, they're celebrating, right? You know, and that this little this small kind of tribunal council is made up of men and women, it doesn't matter as long as you're as long as you're tough as fuck, like you're allowed to be here.

But that that's going to kind of like kind of close down to a smatter as as you you go, but and then continue and it's going to get a little tense. Right. And Balski is going to look to essentially everyone into this tent that isn't you and isn't him. And he's going to lean over, leave us. And he gestures for them to get the hell out of here. And we'll work with the Ruthmar to a point. But. When the time comes, she'll be the one following orders. I'm assuming you brought back what I asked you to get. She forced us out with a different object. Now, he's like, yeah, your goal. Was to free her and then put her under our control. And you're telling me you didn't do this. With all respect to you and Ruthmar. The exception of that one way to control her that was locked in an eternal state and no one else could manipulate.

She made a few demands. And then she said that if we do not follow these demands. Within three days. That Ruthmar and all dragons on this continent will descend upon us. And do what? He'll kind of gesture to look into the orb and he'll go set it down or kind of hold it in front of them. He's not going to hesitate. He's going to take his big fucking hand and grab it. And as soon as he touches it. Everything around you. Is. Going to it's almost like someone held a cigarette up to a map and it's just burning away right from the center point where he touches that orb growing out from you.

The ground is going to become scarred and decay. This tent is going to all but be a frame kind of blowing into the wind. There's going to be dragons circling overhead, burning and and just destroying everything. In sight, and there's going to be. A small grouping of dragonborn of all different colors kind of pulled together, and there's going to be white dragon born, black dragon, one blue like marching through the gates and over the. You know, over these these massive bridges, but. Charred red dragon born corpses are going to be as far as the eye can see.

And Valsk is front and center, just kind of impaled on part of the large wooden support beams of this very tent. So. It's essentially a VR tour of your own demise. Yeah, it's and he's going to kind of stumble back from this and look around and he's getting like defensive, like there's a fight to be had right now. Without making a sound, I'm assuming Zozo was sitting down maybe or we're all standing up. Not sure, but like I'm assuming he's kind of like further back in the bigger chair. Like he's smaller than the people who usually sit in the chair. So it really has this big like wide stance on the arm rests.

And he's just like he's been staring at Kriev this whole time to keep focused and not like snap and say something inappropriate. But now that he's seeing this without a sound, there's like a huge smile on this snoot, like a big satisfied and anticipatory smile. Um, as this is is still going on. You're going to. You're going to hear people outside start to freak out a bit. This is being broadcast to everyone. This is a everyone gets to be simultaneously trapped in their own version of hell, like just for a few minutes. Like they don't even get the hey, no context.

It's like, hey, this is coming up in a few days. This is just like, oh, this is happening. Like it's just, you know, he is obviously unhappy. What is this? Ruth Amar says that if we do not make the change and we do not fit to her demands, this is what our society will become. Ruth Amar wants a bigger, larger area. We're all dragon born. And I know that's a departure from our ways, but change has to happen for our survival. He's seething like watching this because it's playing out in real time, right? There's family members being strewn about being picked apart by those dragonlings and dropped off the mountain and shit as strangers, interlopers, the inferior come marching over to replace their numbers.

It is every awful thought that a red dragon born could have, especially, you know, head dude in charge, right? And. He's got to like lower his head and ball up his fist, and he is going to whip around at you, not strike out at you, but whip around. She doesn't make demands of us. You were supposed to enslave that dragon bitch and make sure she served us in the coming months to help us expand. And you couldn't even do that. Hmm. Kriv is going to lean in just ever so slightly. We did better. And he's going to kind of slowly lean back into his position, not saying a word.

And just kind of letting it letting everything air out. He's not taking it well. Yeah, I know. Kriv is expecting to just get like punched in the gut, thrown out of the tent, like Kriv is expecting to get hit, but he's just trying to play the part of. This is what it is. This is more of a heavier hand approach. It will happen. There's no discussion about it. And I think. In the hierarchy of what could have happened, right, like there's the soft hand approach, you either lie or, you know, and then whatever happens happens, and then like the middle of the road is like, hey, this is what's going to happen.

This is the. This is the nuclear option. It's like, hey, let me show you what you know, this is a visual representation. Like you can smell burning flesh and stuff. This is a very powerful, you know, illusory spell that's going on. So the idea from Kriv is that this is. He knows how. The Dragonborn of this city are. They're not going to just go in and listen to say, hey, we should do better. We should include all the Dragonborn. We should do this. We should do that. He knows that there's got to be almost a shock and awe type of approach to get any reaction or else it will just be drawn out for three days.

And then the bombs are going to hit. Right. Yeah. They'll still be arguing over. You know, yeah. So there's got to be that shock and awe approach in order to hopefully get. Even if it's a scare tactic, even if they're just doing it for survival, just to try to get a decision that's not going to mean that everybody dies. What about Alma and Clover? Like what's going through your head while this is happening? Because like it's we're we're reaching an impact point of some sort. I don't know what that's going to take the shape of yet, but something like. We're narrowing the options.

Yeah. I think she like Clover was first kind of alarmed because it's like, oh, this, you know, seeing the leaders whenever she saw them, she was getting yelled at or smacked. And so she's like hiding a little behind Elmo. And then like she's not really understanding what's going on. She just knows Dragon that used to have the pillows became big and sparkly and told us to do something. And we got home. That's great. And then like the thing has happened. She's like it's she's like, whoa. And so she's mostly just hiding behind all my like. I don't know what's going on.

Alma is tense. There have been a lot of times in other interactions that we've had in other in other locations where almost would much more often pop in and say a thing, pop in and add something. And he's pretty sure just based on like what Crip was saying, this don't distract from the point. And so he's just sitting there kind of tense, trying not to do too much. His hand is right next to like where his hammer is hanging on his belt. Like he's ready for something to pop off. But he's just trying to like keep his mouth shut and just be ready for action, which is very uncomfortable for him because he's not great at shutting up.

And so he's just kind of like he's watching everybody else, he's watching Crip, he's watching Zozo, he's watching Clover. He's watching Volsk. There's a long beat and you can hear the beating of wings of fictional dragons moving through the sky, burning down the you know, like it like there's a sect of red dragonborn fighting back against this and just getting mercilessly destroyed. Like Aruthimar flops in at one point and just mists black poison. And it literally melts the skin off of bones. You're not you're not going to fight that. And it's it's he's taking this in and instead of it being like a come to Jesus moment or like a shock and all thing, it is it's almost making him feral with anger.

And. He's going to turn around and look at Crip. Everyone said. That I was a fool. For sending. The most incompetent, useless members of society. A musician, this feeble minded weakling. And that like kind of pointing over that at Zozo. You'd rather take the side of some inferior muck dwelling reprobate than your own kind. We could have used that dragon to reinforce our position. She isn't worthy of the same respect we treated Strahd with. But she could have been a weapon, a tool to grow our empire. And the entire time he is like taking steady steps toward Crip.

Yeah. And this is violence is in the air. There's a storm brewing. There's no way this doesn't end with. Yeah. A tool. That's all that. Any of us are to you is just a tool for you to use and discard at your pleasure. Our society has dwindled to a fraction of what it used to be. We don't have the troops to do anything, we barely have the troops to just defend ourselves. And we can't defend against this. And he's going to kind of hold both hands up in the air and just point to the things going around. It's a pretty good illustrative point. In order for us to survive and thrive, we have to forego the thinking that one part of the Dragonborn are better than the others.

They all have different talents, they may not align with our talents, but that doesn't make them any lesser. And by combining all of our strengths and aligning with that, using it, allowing them to have their own strength can support us and make us bigger and grander than we ever could have hoped to have been with just. The red Dragonborn. It's change. And be within Aruthimar's good graces. Or stand against it. And this is the vision that she put in. This is what's to come. If we don't comply. Like I said, Aruthimar is not one to be tripled with. I do not know how she was under control before, but there is no way that this can happen again.

No one has that power. If you stand against Aruthimar, you'll pay the consequences. And it won't just be your consequences. All this blood will be on your hands. The survival of our kind depends on you. It is the longest beat in the world, right? Like it is because it's it's impudent rage, right? Like it is just there's nothing to do. There's just it's it's it's. Yeah. And he's thinking about it. And again, the vision just keeps marching on as as, you know, like all these different Dragonborn are just kind of coalescing within the city and they're taking over.

They're knocking down buildings and putting up new ones like they're like he's seeing he's seeing his entire way of life gone, like his people destroyed. And of course, this is the worst possible. You know that this is if you fight it. This is what happens, right? Like this. So this is a version of the worst version of things, you know, for for the red Dragonborn. But he sees it as well, not just a threat. This is just like I'm coming to erase you. Basically, this is, you know. I am not going. To be the one in charge. As our people fall. You want to muddy our bloodlines, destroy our homes.

And open our gates. Starting. With him, and he's going to point to Zozo and his hand is going to like burst out to try and grab Zozo by the throat. So can I get a dexterity saving throw, please? Hmm, yeah. I know you have other things. I was debating. I was debating letting it happen. Hmm. Hmm. I wouldn't do that. Yeah, personally, like Crib would be like it would be that momentary reaction to like put his arm in the way or something. Please do. Well, that was the same thing. He would start to move.
