Howdy everybody out there. I hope you're doing very well. We got another new episode for you today. It's a bit different than what we usually do because at the beginning, I do a little check-in with everybody, essentially, what does everyone want to accomplish? What do they want from the campaign? And it's something that kind of helps if you're doing a long form campaign, something, you know, like two, two and a half years in, like we're doing. It's it's just nice to take the temperature. So, uh, we have that and it absolutely helped because our very next invasion episode, which goes up next week is incredible.

They, they all did an amazing job. So the next two episodes, I really hope you're going to enjoy them. We also have a brand new resurrection episodes with Tom Tyler and Jake. Uh, and we've been posting those on the Patreon. You can obviously help us there. We very much appreciate it. And we'll be letting you guys know what we're doing for arc six very, very soon. Hope you guys enjoy today's episode. Thank you very much. Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason. I'm the Dungeon Master going around the table, starting with Ian.

Hey, I'm Ian. Any pronouns are good. And I am playing Bittersweet, the Thetan Endurant, he/they. And Valerie. Hello, I'm Valerie and I play Matilda Wolfram, the human rogue, she/her. And Kelsey. Hi, I'm Kelsey and I'm playing Calypso Lovelace, the half-elf bard, they/them. And James. Hi, it's James. I'm playing Dagon, the Aladrin Endurant. Dagon. I think you need to punch THE Aladrin Endurant. Dagon. D-E. D-E is what we call him. The Dagon. Is big D with the energy. Last but certainly not least, Michael. Hey, I'm Michael and I play Fenris Masur, the human warlock, Charlatan.

He/him. Oh, as of now, one group has finished their journey in arc five, and I have no idea when arc five is going to end. But every time a group wraps up, that's a little bit more spotlight on the other groups as we slowly close things up. We'll get you guys playing once a week if we need to to get all these threads wrapped up and you say something. You say that like you have any control over how often we play. You say spotlight. You say spotlight. I hear noose tightening. At some point, arc six is going to start. Innovation will still be going on in the background.

We'll see you in arc seven. Look, here's the thing. There's going to be some real major changes for arc six. I know. I know. I know. You know, I'm like, I am weeks away from being able to drop what it's going to be and what's happening. And yeah, no, but that's not what we're here to talk about tonight. We're just the users that don't click the update button in the app. Yeah. Well, here's the thing. I am Spotify coming to tell you that your car thing is going to be brilliant. So that is a joke for two people. That's fine. That's OK. Look, it's time for group invasion to make a choice.

Now, we talked about this in the pre-show, but we haven't played in six months. And, you know, lots of things are going on. I'm not going to say that. I'm going to say that. But we haven't played in six months and, you know, lots of stuff. The big moves, like out of state moves and stuff like that. But now everything's going to be smooth sailing forever and we're going to be playing like never before. You've never said that before. I feel like this episode can be very rushed. No, not at all. We'll be back here next week playing. We got two episodes left, guys.

That's it, guys. No, no, no, there's no need because like, yeah, we'll be right back here next week playing our weekly game. So I had some help with Koopaloo smoke and just put together every note from every session. And there are 14 of them with invasion. I know I was shocked, too. And there are a lot of threats to get to. And I think we slowly came to realize that the last time we sat down and your characters are talking about like, well, what do we want to do? Because the big one that you're thinking like the Abernathy stuff and the elite stuff in Brightport are intrinsically tied together.

But there's nothing saying your group has to do that now. You were just kind of told that your group has to do that now. Then there's personal stuff for every character. Then there's stuff that has been put upon you by other characters on top of your characters. So what we're going to be doing now is you it's a new day. You guys have had your slumber party. You had a lovely breakfast. And now it's time to make a call. Like, what are we doing? What like what's the plan? What's actionable that you guys want to go and tackle? All right. Well, Calypso wants... I mean...

Let's start with the start of the show, Kelsey, please. OK. Too late. It's too late. You're a group leader. That's it. No. No, I felt in group two. Yeah. So the first thing I think Calypso wants to do is go and try to put the little like gem thing that Abernathy was in, like back into that room and see if it still works and if he'll be able to be talked to again. Yes. Well, OK. Can I get you... Let's let's get our first dice roll. Can I get you to roll a d20 for me, please? Oh boy. I need to get my character sheet. Just... Oh, d20. Oh, d20. Oh, d20. I can do it at the bottom.

I forgot. Yeah. Lots of four. OK, that's OK. The the so... So a lot of stuff had happened in between you talking and then monster and then things. And as you place this gem back in, you're going to notice that there's like a chip, like a little like a little frag, and it's just not it's not going to come together. It's like an old TV with rabbit ears that you just can't like. You know what I mean? You're going to need an RF switch if you want to use Genesis, what I'm saying? Like you can set it to channel three or four and that's fine. But if you want to record it with the VCR, then you're going to have to put it on channel three because the VCR also needs to this is a group that you know what?

That's a joke for two people as well. I'm one of those people. I have vague memories of my parents recording things on a VCR for me when I was like five. I love your jokes, Jason. Thank you. You're one of the people. You got the two people in the room. Good job. I don't even need to record this shit. OK, so good God, there's just so much to do. And sadly, whatever instructions you've been given from digital magical recreation Abernathy, that's it. So cool. OK, it's not just but you did at least get a bulk of the I would say pertinent information from them before.

I think it's really magic needs a new way of storing data because that is the real VHS of its time. If you get a chip and a gem that big, then it's like, well, guess that's it. Sorry. No backup. No backup. It's your brain. That's it. Yeah. Well, maybe he should have built that better. I think if he killed more kids, he could have gotten to a system that really, you know what I mean? We've got to get CDs. We really needed the adult industry in Theria to have adopted the orphan soul technology in order for that to really kick off in the rest of the world. You know, I like the boldness of tying the adult industry to orphans.

I love that. That sentence flowed right into like I think that's an outside the box thinking we need him right for it. There we go. All right. Well, that's it for me, everyone. I'll see you later. It's been fun. Coming back to the next dark, probably. You need to respect the grid. I'm going to have a lot more time to focus on that. OK, we are officially stalling. I think we need to place it on. OK, next step. I want to go put on the mask that I want to follow and see what happens because it's everyone. We're all going together. We're all like at the doorway just watching.

Each one of our heads is poking out. They're going to keep the gym with them just like the off the off chance that like it comes in handy for something later, but they do just like good paperweight. Sigh and are disappointed, but not surprised after everything that happened in the room with the big monster. So, yeah, this is like technically too big. You had to try it like just to be sure. But yeah, I was going to ask, like, what is the what is the reaction of like everyone? It's like, OK, let's go downstairs and put it like, shit like, you know, let me ask a question in between you going down to the basement and trying this gem and then everybody heading upstairs.

I'm going to try to walk back up the stairs. We're just trudging along. Can't get any worse. I'd like to think that like Fenris is following down or like looking at things and like coming down and then like as he finally gets down, you're everyone's coming back upstairs and you just like turn around like. We need a ranch style mansion. That's what we need. All these goddamn stairs are the problem. So let me ask a question. Going around the table here, there's OK, we're going to do Kelsey last, but like because. OK, you can go first. No, I don't want to say that you started saying that as ominous.

Oh, well, yeah, you're about to die. I feel like everyone has shit going on, right? We've established Bittersweet wants to kind of set up some sort of commune or shelter for the many, many impoverished people of Brightport. The forgotten, right? Dagon's got a mom and dad and he found out that he's not what he knows. He knows he's not the only Dagon, but now he's trying to like there was a lot dropped on him. And we've covered. We've covered a ton with Fenris, right? And I feel like everything we've covered, we're right on the cusp of you needing to make a personal like choice.

You know what I mean? Like there's something like there's something in the works, but it hasn't quite crystallized yet. I want to start with Val because Matilda is the person I have the least clear vision for a possible future for. So you're wrapped up in this group now. Yeah. You know, three days ago you were a librarian. What are your goals now that you have all this dropped off on you? Is this kind of like, oh, OK, like wider view of the world, I want to make an impact. Or is it just like that's a real long weekend to take off? Like I got to get you know, what does Matilda want?

Yes, this is this is definitely Matilda didn't ask for anything like this, but I think as we've sort of started to uncover more about Abernathy and the elite. She's realizing that there's a story here that is much bigger than her and what's going on right now. And I think I think that's something that now that she's started to like learn about it, she can't stop until it all like makes sense to her. I don't think it would tell us not really a fan of definitely not the elite, but also not really of Abernathy. But I think there's there's still some more secrets that are like waiting to be discovered.

And I think with with Matilda, she she'll never like fully be satisfied unless she like sees everything to the end with that. Right. OK, so when you said story, I almost do you mean like almost literally like there's there's just. It's like not finishing a book series or it's like you just need to see how it ends or is it more just the knowledge that like. I mean, I would say I would say a little bit of a little bit of both. Like she's also viewing this from a like historical perspective, as like there's these lives of these people and this secret society, and it's not necessarily documented anywhere.

And like what can Matilda do to make sure that even if if not immediately, this information, this story is is preserved in some way. We come back to something you said, but I want to keep I want to I'm going to keep it going with everybody else. So, Ian, I feel like we got a pretty good idea of what bittersweet wants. What is bittersweet one for himself? Well, he wants to find a home for the thetan. I mean, that's what he's out here to do. That's what he's here on the mainland to do. And I got sidetracked in Brightport by just trying to survive. But yeah, if you know, he wants to he wants to help the people that he met met there and if he can find a place to relocate them, that isn't like a smelly alley somewhere in the city.

But yeah, that's kind of that he's he's trying to look for a permanent place for his people. James, I feel like Dagon's been pulled in a lot of directions, right? Like he's got pressure put on him from home and then there's the whole being a copy thing. That's that's got to be stressful. And now you're in a relationship that adds that that's got to add stuff like I get at the end of the day. Like what what does a happy ending look like for Dagon? A happy ending. I don't know, but the happiest version of Dagon. It's a tough one because the way his story is going, he's he's supposed to be going to find the original, right?

And this is not this is very sidetracked and I'm struggling finding a reason for him to stay there. And what would make this Trump what he came to do originally? Is the tanny thing interesting enough? But in reality, he probably feels terribly guilty that he's even entertaining anything. And then he's almost died. He did die. But that's like the most Dagon thing you can do. But it is. Yeah. And why would he want to keep doing this when he's not? There is the fact that he's also tasked with bringing back information to Odysseus to, you know, a bunch of them were deployed out to see what's going on in the world or what has changed.

Right. And that's the strongest reason I have to stay. But that's the thing. You don't need to make up a reason to stay if it doesn't make sense. Like, well, it's not just going to lead. I mean, you can talk to everybody. You know what I mean? Like you can like, OK, I'll give you a prime example. This goes back to the roots of the show and me learning to play with people and and there's the story you set up to tell. And then there's what makes sense. Yeah. You take a character like Ironhide, right? At a certain point, you have to ask, why would anyone hang out with you?

Yes. Why would anyone sleep next to you? Why would anyone like like at a certain point there is the story you're trying to tell. And then there's just common sense. And if this is so against the grain for Dagon, it's just so out. Like it's just like, guys, this is not I don't feel like this is ever going to wrap up. Like technically it's only been a few days, but it's like you're just talking about like, yeah, we're just going to like fix poverty. Like it's that's a lie. You know what I mean? It's going to like tear the system down, you know, fight the machine.

It's it's he's a ladder and solving the problems of another city is just like, why would he even take part in that? Can I throw an idea out there for you? I just. Yeah. So only because I feel like Fenris and Dagon have kind of been like just paired at the hip and dealing with all this stuff together. But I almost feel like there's the like you are tasked with this and you're like, I'm going to show the world that, you know, I'm not just some kid. I can go and do my thing. And then you get wrapped up to this. And it's almost that like, of course I can do this.

I'm an Aladrin. I can solve this problem. I'm an Aladrin. Do you know how it'd be if I go back and I like, hey, guys, you know what? We've got this because we're Aladrin. Like it's almost like building on top of that, because like these problems are the right part. Look how simple it was. No wonder they're going to want us back. No wonder they're going to like like to me is more of like it feels like you guys can't do this. You know, did it like. And yeah, but it's incredibly more powerful. Noblesse oblige. Yeah. To me, it plays into that that that like selfishness part.

But it's also saying like, no, you want to stay. And these other reasons that you're like you're coming up with that, like you're combining both the Aladrin side and you're like selfishness of why you want to stay. And then like lining it with the reason you came out. But that's just an idea. I buy that. There's also the dozens of little moments that we just don't get to roleplay or see the you pensively eating dinner or something. Someone's eventually going to ask. It's like, hey, are you OK? And it's like, no, like so much, you know, like you would talk about this with someone at some point.

Obviously, we want like we want to get that on the show. But like there's some stuff like there's always a monster. There's always a thing attacking. There's always a demon deal. You know, I mean, sometimes it's like, man, I just want to eat my corned beef hash. Leave me the fuck alone for a minute. Just let me. You know, it's. Well, and plus, you know, the hash guy. Yeah, the you know, the leveling up and all that. Yes. I mean, he's definitely gotten something out of being here. Yeah. A girlfriend. A girlfriend. Dare I say soulmate, honestly, like. See, I think, you know, I think that's something that he would never admit, but is.

Has a fascination with. Even though. You know, it's it's it's the type of duty you're 10 years into the relationship and still playing coy, like, is it like. I feel like that's just how Aladrin do things. I'm going to be honest. But it's also like, hey, I have you know, everything was set up for me at home and everything was dull. Decisions were made for me. And suddenly I'm presented with this thing where I can make a decision that will totally go against everything that I've been told to do, which also is appealing regardless of what it is. Like, I feel like Aladrin, like, courtship is probably like just like like Jane Austen novels, like taken to the 10th degree.

Like we're like sharing like coy glances and just like doing like polite like courtesy to each other for like three decades before we make the next move sort of thing. Like it's just this is great. This is kind of. Don't look good, please. I was going to say this. It's kind of tangential, but there's something like incredibly beautiful about Tani being a halfling of mortal life, who is a blood mage who's probably not going to live that long and a long lived Aladrin, like giving up the good years of their life to like be with them. Oh, yeah. I'm such a sucker for that.

Oh, I want to see that story. City comes to the country girl. Yeah. Just like when I tricked my wife to give up her family to come live with me and give up the best years of it. She's got to learn about her family. I don't think there was any. I just mentioned the best attribute. They're rich. That's what I just like. I just that was it. That was all of it. Yeah. There's feelings or whatever. But she could have had good insurance. That's the secret. There is no good insurance anymore. USA! USA! USA! I want to keep that up and get a little less enthusiastic. Make sure to vote everybody in November, please.

But yeah, I think the rawness, the primalness of like the stuff that's going on right now is just so different than what he's used to. I think that enough. It's like a teenager rebelling, right? Yeah. Well, also there's the aspect of remember what like the thing with the gods and that conversation that you had. It's like, oh, I don't like doesn't want to do something unexpected because he was just being expected apparently so far. It's like, oh, yeah. The unexpected thing for the Aladrin and stay with this thing. And it was like every version of you has failed or died or forget exactly.

But I think that's that. Like, well, I'll show you. I think it's kind of in there. Right. This is coming back to me now. But my decision was already made. You could be like, actually, I'll show you guys up and I'll leave. I'm going to get a pack of smokes. Everybody just stay cool. I'll be back. I got to get some milk. I think I think that's enough to say, like the other thing can wait. Just just talking it through. Right. And dude, that's that's what this is for. That's I think it also helps the listeners. Yeah. Because and then if if other Aladrin come looking for him and be like, you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing, then we could deal with it at that time.

You know, yeah. Michael, Michael, hi. What are you doing? What am I doing? What are you doing? No. What's what? I guess. What is Fenris's next few years look like? If you're all about possibilities and you're all about like like what? What do you get out of all this? Like what is the is it genuine? Pulling that hat off, man. Is it genuine? Tell me I'm wrong. Is it think you're wrong. No, nobody take this the wrong way. But you look so much like a podcaster right now. That's the meanest thing you've ever said. When she takes it off and she's not next to the session.

I want to see a fake beard. Fucking guy with a podcast. You see what I mean? I'm a little offended. I'm sorry. We're not talking about specific kind of podcast. I can't deny. I want to hear Valerie's opinions on like alphas and sigmas. I just want to hear what she has to say. Like, which can I get rated? Can I do which which category do I fall into? I'm not a baby. We all know that. Well, like, you know, like honestly, I don't know what a sigma is. You don't need to because it's all made up stupid bullshit by stupid guys. I've made a mega, though. Oh, yeah. That for the podcast.

No, let's not. We're already. Do I cut this? What am I doing? Michael? Hello. Please. More words. Question. Was there a question? I can't remember. There was a question. Kelsey insulted me and I just like I got. Valerie, you were just. You were a casualty in this drive. So all about possibilities, all about, you know, is this a thing where Fenris is on it, like along for the ride, because they think they're going to get something out of it? Is this actually being altruistic? Is it being like, what is it? I don't think altruistic and Fenris go together. Well, that's why I'm asking again, if we're talking about taking on sticking around for reasons, for some reason, it's like, OK, so what?

Right about the point where Fenris could get Taro a torn open. It's like, all right. So I don't know if it's kind of obvious, but he was pretty much everything has been about like vengeance and I could die tomorrow. Like, let's deal with fate, because who cares? He's been pretty it's almost like a self-destructive path. And so all the possibility, all that he's kind of already was like, I was dead once. We're pretty much dead. So I'm already on borrowed time. I'm dead. So he had this whole vengeance arc of I've got to take down this whole group or like this whole thing.

I just want to see, you know, bad things happen to this group because I trust nobody because I get backstabbed. But this group, for every opportunity that he would have thought would have backstabbed him, it's not. And then it became a game of, OK, so when are you going to backstab? Like, when am I like, oh, hey, we shut that door. You're alone with that monster. Bye. Like, you know, some something of like, yep, I knew it. It always is true. This has been my fate. I'm totally going to do it. But at every turn it's been different. And so he's like, well, is this group different?

Is there something else? Am I on the biggest? Am I being conned? And I don't know it. Like, should he believe? So he's in this like he's he's walking this line of like, is this just something I'm getting like, am I getting conned? And I'm going to get laughed at here at the moment. I'm going to be screwed. And the possibility part is like he would steal possibility to have to live for another day, as it were. Like, I'm going to mold this to go. And it was always funneled toward this vengeance hate. And now it's like, well, what if I be more productive and give this fate to something more productive by this group?

Because it sounds like there's something more. And I will help to that end. But does he expect to live very long? No, he's never believed that he would. And he's just had fun the whole way until it is as much as he can. But with a negative perspective. So not to overly simplify this. Go for it. But in this analogy, Fenris Fenris will be like a nice guy who's been burned by women and he has this negative attachment. It's like, well, I'm just going to hurt them before they hurt me. You would be you would be like a character that Valerie would talk about on her podcast.

You'd be talking right to you. You'd be a subscriber to Valerie's podcast. If we if we go with this, Fenris isn't a nice guy. But what I'm saying is then all of a sudden he gets into a healthy relationship even by accident. And he's like, what? She's going to turn on me. And slowly but surely, he's like, man, I've had a really unhealthy attitude towards other people. And, you know, and then you unsubscribe from Valerie's podcast. That's your art. He's had a it became more apathetic and like the vengeance was for that group. But he always believed someone, you know, because he did get betrayed and that was where it started.

And then, yeah, maybe maybe would have been a subscriber. Who knows? But it was equally simplify. The vengeance is you posting on message boards for this. I'm like, yeah, every day I'm on the bus. What's Brian Court's version of 4chan? It's called 4chan. It's just like an actual physical message board. People just go by with a dagger, like just a new post, like four points. Fuck you, Deborah. And then just like that's the point. Be me, a guy. Yeah, but the weird three text memes. People like to draw a lot of frogs on this board. What the fuck? But yeah, so he's coming to this.

But it was like, hey, I'll just keep going. But then it's like, oh, and he's actually really liked Dagon. Like, I think Dagon's been the big reason he stuck around because we kind of he saved him a few times. He got to show off, which was really cool. And like, hey, I got all our shit back, yo. He's been able to show like value where he expected people to be like, well, that's nice. Goodbye. Was what his experience is used to. So it's like, oh, I'm maybe there's something here or maybe I can do something. Maybe it's all, you know, more than just a bright flame before it goes away.

That's why it's so chaotic. All you wanted to do was rob me. Yeah. Still tell. Still tell. Yeah. Valerie, if I had money, I would pay you for a bit to do a half hour version of your podcast where you just talk to like nice guys. It's just a call in. Oh, my God. As me or as whatever this character is. I hope they're one in the same. I don't like this. I don't want listen to Kelsey. I, I think you're pulling it off still, but, you know, jealousy is an ugly monster and sometimes it takes the form of laughs. I mean, Kelsey never said I wasn't pulling it off. Oh, no, no, you are.

It's just that these things can be the same. OK, double that sword. Two things can be true at the same time. It's going to rethink my whole wardrobe. Kelsey. So we had fire brand. And then we start this new arc with Calypso and, you know, one of a few returning characters. And I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say you didn't really get to do a whole lot with Calypso in fire brand in terms of making like in terms of change. Right. And we're two years into this campaign. How how like what do you want Calypso's legacy to be? So I think for Calypso, they kind of at the moment have two goals in mind.

The first one is they want to keep their promise to Bittersweet, which involves making sure that the manor is safe because, again, don't want to be like, hey, here's the new home for people and oh, no, there's monsters. But that doesn't seem great. So which probably means like talking to the Coronado since they seem like the only contact left that might be able to tell us something about that situation. And then the second thing that they want to do is to join the elite, whether or not it is to end up like going against them or not like that. That's sort of like to be determined, but like regardless of what it is, like since they can't talk to Abernathy anymore, like we need more information on like what they are and what this whole thing is.

Like that seems the simplest way to do it. So without that being said. Is just Mask next? Like, is that the big idea now? It's like, well, fuck it. Let's try that. Like, yeah, I mean, that is just kind of like, OK, so we need to like go talk to the Coronados, which means we need to leave the mansion. So before doing that, let's just check off a few boxes. Can I ask you a question before, like, do you guys trust those doors that lead into the city or? Absolutely not. OK, OK. I think a lot of people. Oh, I mean, I think the worst door was already walked through.

I'm sure they work just fine. It's just it's the it's the ethical implications. Yeah, it's that kind of thing. Well, do you want to go walk through Spider Forest again? It's not an unlimited resource. How many people in the city were kind of new? Like, if it's not urgent, let's save it. Like that's kind of honestly, I feel like Val kind of hit the nail on the head earlier when talking about like it's you're talking about the elite versus like Abernathy. And it's like, wow, I don't like that. I don't like that. Twitter and and Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg on the other hand, the guy you can trust.

And Facebook, I've done anything wrong. They're both. It's like, oh, Jesus. So I get the ethical thing of like, I don't want to say anything here. Like, fuck this. Like, it's it's all baby blood. This machine, you know. OK. That being said, you're going to put a mystical mask, right? Like that, that thing that that's different. Yeah. Hopefully it'll give us our next clue. The mask again. What was that? Sorry. To which person? Sorry. Well, both, actually, I lost you both in that. Let's start with Val. Val, what would you say? I said I am hoping the mask is going to give us some sort of clue like that.

Calypso is going to be able to put it on and see something that. When Fenris put it on, he didn't or they're going to feel something that Fenris didn't. And that will sort of maybe help lead us to the next thing. Masks racist. Racist? Didn't like me. Must be. It's got to be. Hates all Michaels. And Kelce, what you say? I was just asking if you could describe the mask again. Oh, yeah. So all these masks are kind of big, heavy, cumbersome looking. They look metallic almost, but that's really just kind of like a finish. And they they all they're all in the shape of like different walls, like the big, you know, like, like.

So there's more than one. Well, not here. Oh, OK. OK. And the group hall is given their their bespoke wall like these are for the elite. Gotcha. Yeah. Like every like for every Valerie type podcaster, their wolf logo for their their thing is like, you know what I mean? They all kind of use a variation of the same like tribal tattered fucking, you know what I mean? Like that type of of thing. You're going to have to put up a photo of an image of Valerie in the hat for a go along with the behind the scenes episode. It's going to be completely. I want I want everyone to have their own image in their head.

Please tell us what kind of hat Valerie is wearing. Yeah. Everyone draw a picture of what you think Valerie's wearing right now. OK, sorry. The wolves. Yes. Yes. So this thing is it's it's it's ceremonial is what it looks like. Yeah. So I think like that's kind of like also so like in in that room that we're in, like since that creature, like presumably like came through the doorway, like does anything look different about it or like what? Well, the doorway itself. So give me a perception check. Actually, let's get some dice rolling in this. Yeah. 22. Fuck you, Michael.

What are you doing? We like every time I try to get back on the rails, there's like a. I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't do anything. So 22. OK, you're the door doesn't seem to be damaged. It is closed and it is, I guess, dormant would be a nice word for it in that nothing's happening with it right now. It doesn't appear as though it's leaking any energy. There's no tentacles coming out of it. There's no nothing. Honestly, the room, besides a couple of things. Yeah. But besides a couple of things being knocked over, it really doesn't look like a lot has changed.

Like the damage could be way worse. Well, that that that that's good. I think probably everyone is a bit relieved to see that there is maybe that of like trepidation before like entering the room. It's like a void, but just like, thank God, because the door is damaged, at least it's not damaged in a way that it's left open instead of closed. So. Yeah, I think Lipsill kind of walks up to the mask and just sort of like looks at it for a bit and then picks it up and is like turning it around a few times and just. See if they get any like feeling from it or like see anything like just sort of like they're they're definitely like they know they're going to have to put it on, but they're hesitating.

Yeah. Give me an Arcana check. Give me give me give me a vibes check. Basically, magically plus one of that. Oh, dirty 20. OK. Yeah. OK, so. Oh boy. So this thing reeks of magic, right? Which isn't, you know, but a lot of it feels like security. It's the same type. It's the same type of magic you'd enchant the chest with or something. But off the charts way. But you know, I mean, like if if if if that is the bike lock of the magic world, this is the like industrial thing they use to guard like warehouses with and shit like that, like this big circular. It's like you're not getting in here unless you really fuck with it for a long time.

So simply trying to say put it on is a good way to get your ass blasted across the room. And who would do that? It was years ago. Who knows? But that is you kind of getting like just the tip of the iceberg with this. Like beyond that magical protection, there's something about it that is a little more than just ceremonial. You get it's like, yeah, I imagine like if if whoever runs this organization, like they're all getting together or something and they, you know, like. It's kind of like a skull and bones thing where it's a man look up the skulls, a great movie from the early 2000s.

It's a forgotten classic, but it's about it's not it's about a secret society. It's called Paul Hawker. It's great. And the guy from Coach. So if if like it's steeped in like tradition and there's ceremonial guards they use and they're so it's it's it reeks of like, oh, man, you know, you don't belong here if you don't have these things and have you earned these things and you violated our rules. You're going to, you know, excommunication is probably not a thing. They just kill you so that you can't tell anybody or something like that. So I think it's going to take math and just.

Do you think we should maybe go to one of the rooms with beds and pillows in it in case I also get launched back or. That's might be a good idea. We're all still at the door frame. Yeah. So it's sort of like nods and well, yeah. There's there's probably a room nearby that has like beds and stuff. We could little arrange some pillows just in case. And yeah, like once once. Yeah. That is that I guess they take a deep breath and put it on. I think before you do that, Tani would would like be coming into the room with the big fucking silly red robe shit that goes with it.

It's like, oh, it's like what if you need this to just case like it's like you can't just wear the hat like like. Yes, the folk off to be me is that that I'd like your way of thinking. No idea if it makes a difference, but it's like. That's what I was missing. I get it. Yeah. We don't know. It ties the other. I think so. Like you have to shrug the robe on that is the robe magical as well or. Give me an arcana check. Should have checked it before I put it on. That's the worst that could happen. 14. So. Like, you know, get much off of the robe like it's not you know what I mean?

It doesn't protect you from stab wounds or anything like that. Doesn't feel like it. Yeah, I know. But like, I think they spend all the money on the mask. I think it's one of those things where, you know what I mean? So you put this mask on. The way this thing is shaped, there is a there's a big portion of it that's going to like it's metallic up into a point like it reaches, you know, toward the back of your head. And the inside of it is more fabric and leather and stuff like that to kind of secure it. It's more comfortable than you would think it would be.

So you're already going to get a little further than Fenris did in that you are not off your feet like you are. You're standing here and you're going to put it on. So the eyes of this big dumb wolf face are going to glow bright red, right? And a few things are going to happen. There is going to be a split second where Calypso is just going to kind of kind of be flooded with information like, you know, like and a few things are going to become apparent. One, this this mask is now attuned to them somehow, but not officially like it's it's it's it's been it's been DIY'd.

So like, you know, so Abernathy managed to do it, but there could be some unforeseen circumstances. Should have put in a 20 amp, put in a 15. We don't know. Like, you know, that's a callback. A few other things are going to become apparent. There is a built in security system with this this mask where if people who are not in your little club see you, there's an aura that's triggered. So everybody who's not Calypso in the room, can I get a wisdom saving throw, please? We didn't even think about that. Oh, my God. But why didn't that happen with us when we didn't get it on?

Because he didn't get it on all the way. The security system was triggered against him. This is oh, my gosh. Does Tani have to roll? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Everybody. Oh, yeah. Harrels. Yeah. Wait, check or saving throw. Save and throw. Saving throw is better. Bittersweet. Yeah. 15. There's 20 for Dagon for wisdom. How do you do the saving throw? I'm so sorry. You know, it's like, it's like, it's like whiz whiz and then you do normal. Well, it says that you win all over the check on the right in the saving throws box. Oh, sorry. I didn't see the saving throws box. That's OK.

It's all good. Twinsies. Twin corpses. No, no, it's not that crazy. I don't know. See, I knew they were going to kill me this whole time. It's so funny that Ben rest the whole fight took zero damage, but both times. This is confirmed. Tani is the wisest amongst us. I don't get how her rolls are so high. Like, it's ridiculous. So she rolled a 16. That's a 21. So I think I've had a plus four on that. So. Tani Fenris, no, I'm sorry, Tani Dagon Bittersweet are going to watch as Fenris and Matilda both drop to their knees. And you can you can see their their hands like struggling, but they're both going to start to reach up to their eyeballs and try to gouge them out.

Hey, can you take that mask off, please? Like, just wondering. So and as this is being said to. So you're oh, boy, Calypso, can I get a wisdom saving throw? Because you're going to be bombarded with a lot of information and you may be a little. Oh, thank God. OK, so 60, that's a 16 year. Yeah. So you're. All this stuff, it's OK. Imagine, OK, whenever you join a new company, start a new job. There's always the orientation videos and the paperwork and all that stuff, right? That's what you're going through. And it's like, thank you for joining the elite. We're a.

And meanwhile, your friends are going to try to put their index fingers into their eyes. And it's like a normal orientation. Understandable reaction. And you're going to be like, I'd say 75 percent of your concentration is taken up with what's going on here in this mask, because there's a lot that's just being like downloaded in your brain. But one, there's three people in the room who are not under the effects of this thing. And I would imagine that Tani and everybody else are like grabbing hands. It's like, no, no, no, no, no. Like that type of thing.

You know what I mean? Like the common sense thing of like, what the fuck are you doing? Like clearly they have realization in their eyes. They're going, I don't want to be doing what I'm doing right now, but they're doing it like that's. Yeah. Yeah. So I take Benrith. I gesture over Tani and Dagon like go get Matilda and we're like holding them, holding their hands. Like, stop, stop, stop. Luckily, I don't think either of them have that strongest strength score. Yeah. Tani does not excel there. Honestly, bittersweet is the only one with like honestly, dumpy might be the strongest.

Like putting his little body in between his hands. I have a negative one modifier on my strength. I think you got me. This is not a strong group. Yeah. This is how it goes. Oh, God. What Tani's is like, like she basically breaks even. That's probably from manual labor. Dagon says, eight. Wow, I'm stronger than Dagon. Yeah, but Dagon will just use a little endurant power in there to flex a bit. Just shotgun blast. Break your arms right off. Oh, sorry. Because I don't know my own strength. Better than your eyeballs. So while this is going on and I don't think it's going to take they don't have supernatural strength, it's just their own.

So, I mean, like and their their minds and are basically struggling to send signals. It's like, don't do this, don't do this. So like they don't want to do it either. So like this is so it's up to you if you want to just kind of keep going or take the thing off. And that information overload, is there anything about turning off the aura or? Yes. Like it's like I think, OK, if you imagine this as like the first we need to talk about our sexual harassment policy, like you've got to get through all that. And it's it's, you know, until you get to like the the the good stuff that's like a news how you know, here's your all your sick days like that cool shit.

But, you know, it's like that. Like, let's say that they will say just, oh, gosh, I think it'll tell me how to turn that off. Just just hold on. I'm not worried. I mean, obviously, everyone else is making sure that this is not like if they were actually in danger, danger clips would have taken it off. But absolutely. Yes. And I think that's coming up and it's it's it's one of those things that's like pleaded slacks or what's needed for. Yeah, it's a goddamn it. Just a good, casual Friday. We're getting there. We're getting there, guys. I swear to God. Like you're in the midst of all this, you're learning more and more about the layout of their their place.

It's like, oh, shit. Wait, like it's it's like the fourth of every month we have a mixer. We have ribs like it's like, OK, shit. OK, like there's things like you're getting and. I need everyone who's already under the effects of this. Valerie, Michael, can I get another wisdom saving throw, please? Don't forget to download your perks plus program. We have an app. Oh, OK. OK, so for so Fenris is still going to be trying to gouge out his eyes, but this next thing isn't going to be happening to him. So this aura is nasty in that if thing one doesn't happen, thing two starts where you're going to see almost like this gripping hand.

Just this translucent, ghostly hand kind of grab Matilda by the head and you. OK, everybody in in the room, including Matilda, give me an arcana check. We'll fuck with these roles a second ago. I can't get anything. It makes sense. Where were these rules for me? You know what? It honestly makes sense that you're like, this is child's magic. My parents own a yacht. It's only barely pertinent to the story, but I wanted you to know. So you're going to feel this hand as it grabs Matilda's skull, it's charging up, and what it's about to do is blast every memory out of her skull and leave her.

Oh, no. She will be a vegetable. What the hell, Jason? OK, I'm going to take the mask off. You're here with the company, and you take it off like, no, no, no. And that the effects will end. That'll stop. Nothing happened to anyone's brain and we don't have to talk about it. Are you all right? I don't believe you. I think I'm going to go downstairs for a little bit. Yes, all of you should get out of the range of this, I guess. I'm going to give you some alone time, play some cards, maybe take a nap and close my eyes. I'm really thinking about my eyes a lot right now.

You don't leave. I mean, he's kind of disappointed. You could see it in his shoulders because he really wanted to see this mask go on. Right. After everyone is out of the area, the splash zone, I'm putting the mask back on. What's the radius on this thing? That's the next best question to ask. Yeah, I figured like everyone go like a couple floors down and just on the opposite side of the building. Yeah, like I'm going to the kitchen, getting some slices of cheese. We go get food. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, all of it starts to happen again. I'll stay with people again just in case someone needs to grab me.

Yes, please don't. Tani's going to kind of stick close to Matilda because that was beyond fucked because like to her, that's like, OK, wait, wait, wait. It's one thing if to get power, you want to hurt yourself. You know what I mean? Like you are the only one. You know what I mean? Like the trading back years of your life, you know, using blood, whatever. Fine. The first strike is gouging your own eyes out. What the fuck is that? Like just I don't even know if she'd say anything, but it would just be like constantly like. Like just wanting to ask, it's like, OK, that's fucked.

Like we could all agree that was really fucked, right? Like, yeah. Well, what kind of a sicko would come up with that? Like just no spectators allowed. Wizards or you die. It's like, oh, children are maimed. As if the Aladdin ever did anything like that. Never, never, never. He's standing there and he asked me about the trapped gods T-shirt, like just. He deserved it. So you know how the beginning of the episode we talked about how Matilda was like, oh, yeah, I want to investigate this. I want to really see this through. We're all going home now. What if you make it home?

Maybe this just stays a secret forever. Maybe it's just better that way. So, OK, I don't I don't like NPCs to to kind of grab the reins on something, but I think at this point, Tani would be like, why don't we just burn the whole fucking thing down? Like literally, like really burn it like fucking set it on fire. Like. That's insane. The problem doesn't start in this mansion, though. I mean, like find out where they live and like burn that house down. Oh, then, yeah, I'm totally down. OK. Yeah, that sucked. Yeah. Yeah. Fuck them. Oh, my eyes. Really blinking a lot.

I feel like I killed the mood a little bit. I'm sorry. I don't know how to react to this with cheese and wine and meat. You guys want me back up in six months? You want to you want to think about this? That makes us seem crazier and crazier to be sticking around. And that's the thing. I got to come out of my guys, I forget how to turn off and everyone's gone. There's a little note like, oh, you think the food? Good luck with the house. Thanks for the food and the small rat. Like we're we're family. So I think at the risk of kind of editorializing, right, there's there's that man, someone should do something about X.

And then there has to be a point like in a movie or story or real life when like, man, someone should tackle this corrupt whatever it is. And then you realize they are not playing by the same rules that like any decent person would be playing by. It's like, oh, fuck. Like, OK, and yeah, go. I'm yeah, I just jump in on there and like if we're all sitting here, I'm like, how do you fight? Like, like I'm not going to say here that I'm like the best and most morally altruistic person in this room. But like, I don't go kill children. I don't gouge people's eyes out.

I don't do half the things I don't even. Do I even want to know how much further these people go? How do you combat something that's just so flippant with life and limb? Uh, there's been a right on his little plate. You can bat it with life. These people are bad, but there's not many of them. They're powerful. But there's so many more people. There's so many more beings that could stand up to them. Maybe not us here, but it's a start. What about the robot cops? What if we just tell on them to the robot cop? What if they're like puppeting them somehow in some scheme?

Like what if they are a part of their thing? Can we trust that if we do that, they're not going to be like, "Ha, you've fallen into my trap and now you're mine." Who do you trust in this scenario? I trust you guys, which is new for me. But I don't know if I'd go back and I mean, there's that one guy back in his one guard, maybe I could trust. But like robot guys? I don't know if I could trust any robot guys. No cops. AI. That's the captain. AI cops. That's what we did. There we go. The worst of both worlds. Did Dagon and Tani talk about the gods that they saw?

I know Fenris' patient, I think, was also mentioning it. I think they did mention that they talked about the gods. I don't think they brought up that Dagon didn't say anything about the dice, I don't think. I think he specifically didn't talk about that. Right. Well, I mean, so the gods brought Dagon and Tani back. Maybe that's all we can trust. So that like we're, well, maybe a few of us are chosen and we need to help bring that. I was hoping Dagon could like ask them. Like, hey, what should we do? Pull that as phone. Hold on. I'll send a quick text. Double for the text please.

Thank you. They give you like a contact? You gotta res a dorcia. It's great. Even if there's only a few of them, what are we going up against here? This is the elite. They're clearly controlling the city. Like, you have to assume any sort of law is corrupt at this point. What are we supposed to do here? What happens if we don't? Like, is it just right, Bort? Could it go to other places if we leave? It doesn't mean you're going to be safe either. Well, if we don't, nothing changes. And suffering. That's a choice. It's an easy one. But is that something you can live with?

I've already read that book. I could use a new book. It's got to score some extra friendship points, by the way, that you had the whole thoughts of backstabbing and all of your friends prevented you from stabbing yourself in the eyes. Like, that's got to be it's like, all right, that's the that's a sign. Like, that's that's he's good people. Yep. My eyes are still intact. They didn't just point and laugh. Wait a minute. Maybe they are friends. Measuring stick is so bad. Jesus. They're distorted. I OK, so Danny's really fucking pissed that like just poking around was enough to like, OK, in this scenario, like she's just thinking over and over again.

It's like, OK, so like, what if like the best case scenario was getting blasted into a wall or some shit? And worst case scenario for anyone around someone who gets accepted by the mask is to gouge your own eyes out or just be a husk, like completely mind wiped. But you're just you're just laying there like forever. Like, what the fuck is strike three? Like what? So it's it's just so violating, I think. And this is coming from someone who can create blood puppets, so. At a certain point, I think she'd ask Dagon is like, hey, babe, you're you're you're you're folks are like rich, right?

But I mean, like your whole city, like you guys are like everyone gets a chandelier and stuff, right? That's the opinion you have. Opulence to her. It's like, yeah, that's that's what rich people get. They get chandeliers. Several chandeliers, in fact. She's like, that's so hot. Honestly, she'd probably like put a put a pretty it's like, oh, later, baby, later. Listen, I what I'm getting at is OK. I love looking at James's face every time. Something like that is so much fun. What are you getting at? I ate three chandeliers for breakfast. So, OK, so, OK, like, OK, so these fucking guys live in the city and they got to control it to a point.

And like maybe they even have like, I don't know, guards or lawmakers or some shit on their side, but like bittersweets. Right. Like there's thousands of people in Brightport. And if like I think we all kind of know we're screwed, but vaguely, if we could point to the people like screwing up like these guys. And kind of show people proof of that. I don't I don't like I think the curtain is the big thing for them, right? Like it's all the spooky mask keeping secrets bullshit, like all the hidden doors and the dumb fucking hidden messages and stuff like that's that's kind of the power, right?

How do we get them to trust us to even do that? Because I need them to trust us to drag them into the light. Well, I guess the other question is, how do you get them to the light that makes it seen? I having played this game, maybe not to this level, I could see it where we do this thing and they turn it around and somehow were the bad people that they're pointing out. And now the city hates us. So I'm just trying to think like the elite would think, which is really hard, but I kind of see some of it where I could see them turning out. I just feel like maybe that is the way, but we want to make sure we come up with a plan that doesn't make it where they can easily turn it out and somehow manipulate it and make us look like the bad guys, even though we're the ones trying to help.

Because I feel like they have all this manipulation ability. You have to stop them from being a manipulator in those pieces, like those core places. Or some level of power. Is there a way to show, wasn't there like a mural or something? There was like, or maybe it was a vision, but there was like something about them, like laughing at the city burning or something like that. Is that, yeah, yeah. That was, yeah. Like that's replayable, I guess. Like if you want it to, like, that's the thing that kind of, when the whole thing was revealed, it was kind of triggered to go off.

But like all that's, yeah. Like, yeah, there's enough baby blood in the house. Like keep those things going for a while. I write that down. I draw a little picture of that for Fenris, of the vision that we saw. Like, they all have money. And like, that's probably like, okay, it starts with being rich and like not all rich people are bad or whatever, but like, like, okay, I told you about Serena. Like I've known her for a long time and like, she's, she's super nice. Like she's always helping people. But like, it's way more than like, you don't care about anything.

Like, I think if you just point, like if we could figure out what, how they're hiding, I guess, and like kind of pull that back. It'd be pretty easy to see. Like it's, you know. I guess we don't even have to like take it all down. Maybe just start the push. And what's something? So we need to infiltrate. We need money. Well, now you're just like giving me a good time. Well. Bittersweet, Bittersweet started like writing rapidly and he says, if we want to draw them out, if money is important to them, we go after their money. Dagon will like reach into his satchel.

Gotta rob a bank. He's going to pull everything out he's got and drop it down. Oh my God. So many chandeliers. It's a snack for later. I have this bag of chandelier holding hats and... Do you think this will get us in? I don't know how much he has with him, but let's assume it's not. Two nickels. Yeah, let's assume it's not that. Here's the thing. I think it's got to be like Dagon's either one of those guys. He's stupid enough to bring a whole bunch of money with him. Right? Yeah. He's either the guy with a big sack with a dollar sign on it or he's he's got protective enough parents that they have that traveler's wallet that's strapped to your desk and shit.

You know what I mean? Like, I don't know which one, but maybe both. Maybe it's like, and here's your backup wallet. Like it's you know what I mean? Like, I don't know. I'm going to assume that Dagon has some money on him. Oh, yeah. Tanny. OK, like. OK, this is where the idea gets real stupid and like it's probably not good, but like, OK. So. Your city's like all rich and stuff. What if like what if they sponsored Brightport? Like. Like. OK. Imagine you're you're running things and then new rich people who aren't a part of your club kind of come in from like outside and they they are.

I'm sorry, sweetie. They already think you're better than everybody else. Right. Like, you know, you got a little bit, you know, and you are maybe you are. But like, I mean. That that would probably piss him off and bring him out right there. Right. Like that would make him do stuff like it'd be easier to find. We we could be putting a target on everyone's back then. I know it'll fix this problem. More rich people. I appreciate what you're saying. I can't I can't. I can't just ask them to do that. What if we pretend so? So we that I don't know who all knows. And I'll look over at Matilda about the Abernathy mansion and Calypso's relationship with it, or even if they know Calypso on this.

But if there was like a mystery owner now that's taken up residence and you know, I am but a humble servant and they we attract, you know, a mysterious vibe to bring him out, but not no, not showing what he is. Maybe get this like interest going, maybe a party, a ball and fight that Serena. And then, you know, if you're not invited, man, how do you get to be a part of the cool club, the new money in town? But it's all kind of like, don't be very flaunting. Just be very like chill about it. Mysterious. Be the great Gatsby. Yes. Yes. I was like Prince Ali just started playing in my head.

That's my favorite. Well, I'm hoping with with Calypso's private mask time, part of the orientation will include our biggest weakness. Shh. Don't tell anyone. Yeah. God, that's good. Calypso's private mask time. Everyone look away. The masquerade is gone. Oh, that is awesome. Because they'll all bring their masks to. And then we'll put them on the tree. Laser all of us down. Yeah. Yeah. We're doing the. That was easy. Cover your eyes and run. Not if we find out the radius. Oh, wait, we OK. What if it's a bird box scenario? Oh, OK. I've never seen bird box. But I know what you have to explain.

We all wear blindfolds. And that's about as far as I've gotten. Oh, come on. Oh, come on. OK. Blindfolds. My favorite scene. It's a bird box. We all just wear blindfolds. I have no idea what happens in that movie. But what if we duplicate it? Now here's my. Jesus Christ. OK. OK. Kind of like where we're going with this. Like, I don't know about the bird box thing, but before that, a memorable that's a memorable quote. The next fucking quote. The two AI bots like this quote from this episode really sums up the entire. What if we will cover our eyes and did a bird box?

I've never seen it, but. Oh, yeah. We could also set up like home alone booby traps for our guests. Oh. So like, do you think you can get them to come here like? It seems like Abernathy was pretty hated. So like maybe you're right. Maybe curious if it's a new. I don't think they knew that this is where Abernathy was. So it's not like we could advertise it as, hey, Abernathy was living here. And now we are unless that is how we start advertising it. I think it was open because he had like the band people that came. It was like a school. I don't know if I would assume.

I don't know why they try to kill him. They also maybe they were worried about him, which made me a better reason. They. I think he used the doors, can they? Because they could just come here. Do they know about the doors? Like honestly, big look of like, wow, look on her face like I know as much as you do and just asking questions like that. Yeah. Maybe we need to use these doors. I think it's private mass time look like. Is Calypso part of this conversation or is it really like everybody leave the room? I think we were just downstairs waiting for Calypso's private mass time to be over.

That is what I have to say just that fast. I haven't really been interjecting the mass have full body tracking in it. Well, the end state is for Calypso to be a vtuber that is like that's where we're going. Subscribe. Between that and Val's podcast. You can be a guest. Really like Calypso's part of like at this point, really like sitting on the floor like the robe kind of like spread out around them and the mask on and they're just going through all of the information and just absorbing it. They're like they're definitely like alarmed, but by the aura and like happy that it was easy to turn off and everything, but there is absolutely a part of them that is intrigued by that level of power.

And yeah, so they're they're learning. They're having their private mass time. Can I get a wisdom saving throw from you? Just just Calypso, just everybody's cool. Keep eating your short cutary. You're fine. Five. Okay, well, you were in a zone and then you got to start over and you know, but it's not it's not all bad. Like, I think it would just be like and welcome to the elite. Like you got to start over. Like it just it didn't. So you got it. You're going back through and you're waiting and you're waiting. So I think the entire time this conversation is going on, you're just like, I'm on.

But while you're messing around, you're going to figure out that you can do a couple of things as you're looking around the room. The inherent value of any object in the room, look over it. It's like, wow. Like and it'll OK. There's some sort of magic in the mask that even guesses inherent sentimental value. If enough of someone has touched something or something, it's like, oh, could be worth something to this person. Like even if it's a radical doll, it like it's a money gauge, like it's looking around the room and it's like, oh, like it's gauging what, you know, which is.

It's not that it's not helpful, it's it's mostly just used for evil, obviously, like the inherent applications of the evil. I just mentioned full of like all these like antiques and stuff that I probably don't want. So like this is this is great. I don't know. The best garage sale ever. Like, you know what I mean? Like, yeah, I know what it's actually worst of, but I don't accidentally end up selling the priceless artifact like on eBay for 10 bucks or something like I know, you know, this sucks about it is it's not it's just for value. Like you're looking and it's like, oh, what is it?

So there's a spell scroll. Like what is it? Does it tell me anything about the matches like now? No, it's what the parts worth. Here's what the so it's not even about the value of the the the content, the knowledge like that. Yeah. The content of it. It's it's like how much is this worth bare bones? Like everything is reduced to. So it's like, oh, Christ, is this what they see all the time? Like they're, you know, on top of that, though, while you're you're getting all this information downloaded, you're going to get to a point where they kind of give you this little virtual tour of the place.

It is. It is like the center of Brightport, like they are hiding in plain sight. There's a large grouping of buildings. And from the outside, like it's barred, like it just looks kind of shitty and like, you know, no one pays much attention to it. But like, obviously that's kind of obfuscated, like, you know, mm hmm. And. Give me one more wisdom saving throw please. OK. 14. That's better. Interesting. I love when Los Angeles makes a cameo every once in a while. You're going to learn some very interesting things. There are only 100 members of the elite at any given time.

There can be no more than that. And normally it's much less than that. And while you're wearing this mask. You can even see where the other like as this wraps up, like you're just going to be given knowledge like it's like, oh, yeah, they're they're right here in town. Like you're just going to have this sixth sense of like, oh, yeah, that like they're all in the city, they're grouped up, they're they're hanging out. There might even be a meeting going on or something like that, but it is still very much tied to that network like of of other rich assholes.

Their place is a fortress like. It would be so easy to fuck up and be eradicated there. Like that mask is so tip of the iceberg in that it's like, hey, if you think gouging your own eyes out is terrible and you know, like they're like. They are not fighters, so they have things to do fighting for them and none of its other people. It is, you know, magic golems and death traps and brain lasers and all that shit like it is, you know, it is meant. But the place relatively is small compared to the rest of the city. And you're kind of waiting. You're like you're kind of waiting for like, oh, man, is there, you know, is there ties to government I could use?

And none of that really comes up like they're kind of an island, it seems like they've just kind of figured out ways to like. It's almost like the rest of the city is a petting zoo for them. Which kind of adds another layer of like, oh, that's even worse somehow, like, I don't know, like, you know what I mean? Valerie. If still pulling that hat off, I'm just letting you know so much. If Calypso can see where everyone else is. Did they just see someone new come online? I love you so much, Val. Can I just say that? Just, that's an excellent question. Yes. Is the answer to that.

Yes. So imagine, let's say they figured a problem was dealt with or whatever. And then one day after years, a little light flicks on. It's like, oh, guys, I think it's a pretty good time for us to stop for the night. Like, you know, like, let's let's reconvene really, really soon. I had that same thought that was going to be with that Valerie. It's just the most innocent question. Like, hey, are we fucked? In my mind, I saw it as like, everyone can see like the silhouettes of everyone else. And like, as soon as Calypso put on the mask, everyone else was like having a meeting or whatever, and they all stop.

And they all just like turn towards where they want. Like, yeah, just kind of a yeah. Yeah. Which is very spooky and scary. All the glowing red eyes of their wolf mask turn to look. Stay tuned to our next episode, Howl at the Moo. So it's interesting, one of these one of these one of these stories may be coming to look for you now. Maybe we don't get a choice after all. You know.
