How Nythera Got Her Groove Back
What Happens
The party arrives at Bonzo's Dark in Esterholt's gloaming quarter, a vampire district, where they enjoy an elaborate feast. Nithera meets a vampire named Zera and spends the night with him, while a suspicious man named Drew Adderkrank watches them. The next morning, Logrhyn reveals the full plan to the teenagers: they need to collect rare items to build a device that will let them enter the dreams of a comatose Stone Sunder, convince her to reclaim the throne from the Grimhorns, and reinstate Logrhyn's exiled clan. The party decides to split up—the main group will mine for Adamantite while the kids network in Esterholt to find leads on the remaining items.

Speaker 1: Hey, everybody out there. Speaker 1: Jasper here. Speaker 1: Welcome to Dungeons and Randomness, Ark 6, Frostborn. Speaker 1: First up, it's getting close just days away. Speaker 1: We will be at DragonCon over the Labor Day weekend in Atlanta. Speaker 1: Come see our live show, be part of the chaos, and snag some special gifts. Speaker 1: We would love to see you there. Speaker 1: And of course, huge thanks to E& Publishing, creators of Level Up, Advanced Fifth Edition, Speaker 1: the system powering all of our madness, and to GM assistant, Speaker 1: the perfect way to keep your RPG campaign notes in order.
Speaker 1: It's a perfect way for us to remember exactly how many appetizers Ruby orders at Bonzo's, for example. Speaker 1: For both, use code D-A-N-D-R for a discount. Speaker 1: All right, last time on Frostborn, the crew and their teenage entourage finally stumbled Speaker 1: into Esterhold after finning off a pack of Labr Dragons, sorry, Wyverns, and raided the mini-bars Speaker 1: at the very fancy inn called Silk Sheets. Speaker 1: With stomachs growling and Ruby practically vibrating at the thought of food, they splurged Speaker 1: to Esther Holt's gloaming quarter, heading straight for Bonzo's dark.
Speaker 1: The place sits at the heart of the quarter, a district carved out years ago to give Speaker 1: Esther Holt's vampires a place of their own, an uneasy truce written in stone and shadows. Speaker 1: This time, they jump right in. Speaker 1: The gang feasts under the creep of pipe-organ music. Speaker 1: Nithera makes a new acquaintance. Speaker 1: Chimera catches some questionable leering from a local. Speaker 1: Ruby eats way too much, and Logren, believe it or not, Speaker 1: Let's his hair down, at least a little, before finally starting to talk about the plan.
Speaker 1: Get ready for some exposition. Speaker 1: Don't forget, you can always leave us comments on platforms such as Spotify. Speaker 1: Let us know what you think, and we'll see you there. Speaker 1: Take it away, Massey. Speaker 1: Let's do that way, Massey. Speaker 2: Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. Speaker 2: I'm Jason. I'm the dungeon master. Go around the table. Starting with Susan. Speaker 3: Hi. My name is Susan Spanator. My pronouns are she her and I'll be playing ninth year Speaker 3: Ryeth, the Elven Rogue.
And Jameson. Speaker 4: Hi, I'm Jameson. He him. I play Logrin Craigborn. He is a Dwarven Marshall. Speaker 5: And again. Speaker 5: Hey, I'm Ian. My pronouns are he, him, any, and I play chimera, the Tifling Warlock. Speaker 2: And last and certainly not least, Mr. Fuckin' know it all. Speaker 2: Jasmer. That's right. Oh, my gosh. That was terrible. Speaker 2: That's a terrible way to be introduced. Speaker 2: Sorry. No, I'm, I'm, I'm, I hope it's, it's very clear that it's so ridiculous to me. Speaker 2: I know, I know. Speaker 2: That behind the scenes, you apologize.
Speaker 2: for this. Speaker 6: I did. Speaker 1: I pronounced a monster. Speaker 1: No, I didn't just pronounce a monster wrong. Speaker 1: I thought I was so right that I'd dripped noidolism. Speaker 1: But anyway, I'm Jasper. Speaker 1: I don't think you did. Speaker 1: I did for me. Speaker 1: I'm Jasper. Speaker 1: He him. Speaker 1: I play Ruby Pedigrew. Speaker 1: The Gearslinger adept. Speaker 1: I forgot who she was. Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Speaker 1: You threw me off. Speaker 6: Look at this way. Speaker 5: We all learned something. Speaker 6: And that's that's, that's.
Speaker 5: That's a gift. Speaker 5: That's a gift. Speaker 5: There you're welcome, everybody. Speaker 2: Do you know what I think it is? Speaker 2: I think there was a thing in your head that's like, no, it's not the French pronunciation. Speaker 2: I won't let her have another thing. Speaker 1: That's right. Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Speaker 1: It can't be. Speaker 1: It can be. Speaker 1: Yeah, it did. Speaker 1: There was some, we could talk about it at another time. Speaker 1: There was some French learning in there that screwed me up because I was so right.
Speaker 1: I was wrong and then I was wrong again and I was right. Speaker 1: And then I threw me anyway, twist it around. Speaker 1: Let's, let's, uh, let's move on before she hears about this and I get a big time. Speaker 5: We need like a contemporary music crooner named Michael Boulet who's just like, Speaker 5: just up in a tucks, sings old jazz. Speaker 2: You know what it is? Speaker 2: If the thing wasn't shaped like a bullet. Speaker 2: Right. Speaker 2: It wouldn't be so fucking confusing. Speaker 1: If it was any other shape. Speaker 1: So that was kind of the joke behind it is.
Speaker 1: Bullet, bullet, blette. Speaker 6: And it was like, oh, make it fancier. Speaker 1: So it's boulet. Speaker 1: And it's like, well, it's not spelled that way. Speaker 1: Who cares? Speaker 1: It's my world. Speaker 1: I'll pronounce it anyway that I damn well, please. Speaker 6: Sure. Speaker 1: It's like we've got, you know, you got your fantasy names. Speaker 1: You got your apostrophes and double letters and pronunciations. Speaker 1: I mean, why not monsters too? Speaker 1: Anyway, back to the story. Speaker 2: Guys, welcome. Speaker 2: to Bonzos.
Speaker 2: Bonzo's dark, technically. Speaker 2: Because it's after, it's after midnight. Speaker 2: And that's when, that's when things get crazy. Speaker 2: There's a special menu here at Bonzo's Dark. Speaker 2: Now, you did find out that this is in, Speaker 2: this is in a little place of the city. Speaker 2: That's all vampires. Speaker 2: Which is a little off-putting, I guess. Speaker 2: I really didn't get a chance to ask you guys, Speaker 2: like, do you have any... Speaker 2: Does any of your characters have any, like, prior run-ins with vampires Speaker 2: or have any strong feelings about them?
Speaker 1: No. Speaker 1: I mean, Ruby does not. Speaker 1: Ruby's totally just like ghosts. Speaker 1: Like, she's just like, whatever. Speaker 1: Everything's great as long as it's safe. Speaker 1: And I'm assuming at some point, she would have said to probably come here Speaker 1: when they were getting ready, like, Speaker 1: I mean, we're in a... Speaker 1: I know it's vampire stuff, but it's like, it's fine, right? Speaker 1: They wouldn't have that be a thing. Speaker 1: They wouldn't have a bonzo if they, they would, it's safe, right?
Speaker 5: Right. Speaker 5: That's what I'm thinking. Speaker 5: I feel good. Speaker 5: If the city's okay with it, then it must be okay. Speaker 6: Everyone's living in harmony here. Speaker 1: A thousand percent. Speaker 1: They're going to have such good drinks, so many good cocktails. Speaker 5: I know it. Speaker 5: Oh, yes. Speaker 5: We have to see if on the menu they have vampire food. Speaker 7: Oh, my God. Speaker 7: I love. Speaker 7: Empire food. I've never had it before, but I know it's good. Speaker 3: I think probably just in Nythera's line of work.
She's probably worked with Speaker 2: vampires. It seems like good assassins. Like they, you know, yeah. Speaker 5: I think for sure, Kimer has had like jilted lovers, uh, screwed over, you know, some people. Speaker 5: There's got to have been a vampire in the circus that he was at for sure. Speaker 5: So I think he's probably pretty comfortable around vampires. Speaker 4: I mean, Lager and grew up in Aubrey. Speaker 4: So I think his history is very distinctly not full of vampires. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 3: There may even be like not necessarily what he wants, Speaker 3: but just being raised in that society, there may be some ingrained anti-farmes.
Speaker 4: vampire. Yeah, he hasn't been really at ease since we found out during the carriage ride that that's what we're going to do. Speaker 4: Like he's been kind of like wringing his hands a little bit and you know, he's probably established a buddy Speaker 4: system. He wants a buddy system as we go into this place. Speaker 2: Uh, so the 80 of you guys come in here and they, you know, it's not, it's not exactly packed. Speaker 2: But, you know, for a city after dark to have a restaurant open like this, like it is, it's pretty, it's more busy than you would think.
Speaker 2: And you got to imagine that, you know, some of the patrons are vampires, some of them are just people like you or maybe their friends or, you know, from town or whatever. Speaker 2: But the server that cedes you is very, very. Speaker 2: distinctly of Speaker 2: empire. Big Speaker 2: like almost labrat eyes. Speaker 2: Red, kind of piercing, right? Speaker 2: You know, very pale, bald. Speaker 2: And, you know, she'll Speaker 2: very friendly and everything. There's lovely Speaker 2: organ music playing in the background. Again, it's a little Speaker 2: Adam's family in here.
Speaker 2: But like, it's the same amount of Speaker 2: crazy crap and gears and stuff on the wall, but it's all, Speaker 2: like it's a Halloween skin for an MMO or something like that. Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Speaker 1: Like it's all just a little a little spooker. Speaker 2: So like yeah, yeah, she'll show you. Speaker 2: And it's like, can I get you guys started off with a drink? Speaker 2: Like very, very, very. Speaker 2: You're here, your family, hi, that type of thing. Speaker 1: And maybe even overcompensating a tiny bit. Speaker 1: Because you're normies.
Speaker 1: As we're being taken to whatever table there is, Ruby would say, Speaker 1: excuse me, do you have a booth open? Speaker 1: And then she'll turn everybody. Speaker 1: We've got to sit in the booth. Speaker 1: The booth is the best. Speaker 1: Because the booth has mirrors at the top. Speaker 1: And if it's like the other bonzo, you have a booth open? Speaker 2: She will have sat menus down on a table and then just immediately scooped them up. Speaker 2: And like, very gracefully. Speaker 2: It's like, yep, like one fluid motion. Speaker 2: And she's like taking off to the back here.
Speaker 2: And there is a huge huge. Speaker 2: booth. Speaker 2: And as you approach, he's going to slap the table and the table itself kind of folds inward Speaker 2: so that you have extra room to get into the booth and get comfy and then it kind of spreads out Speaker 1: again so that you can put your food down and stuff. Speaker 1: Oh my God. She's like checking out the engineering. Just like, oh my God. Speaker 4: Don't get under it. Speaker 5: I have to get under it. Speaker 5: I have to get under it. Speaker 5: Oh, look, they have phones that you can.
Speaker 5: can call the other boots. Speaker 5: Come here, just dials a number. Speaker 5: Boop, beep, beep, bo. Speaker 4: You can't just do that. Speaker 4: You stop. Speaker 6: Like, Speaker 1: always stop having fun. Speaker 1: Ruby's right in the middle. Speaker 1: And she's already, like, Speaker 1: completely diving into the menu. Speaker 1: So she's already hyper-focused on whatever this bonzo has that maybe other bonzo don't or whatever. Speaker 2: Oh, there's local stuff. Definitely. The fact that... Speaker 2: So, my culinary expertise in eating out is limited.
Speaker 2: Because I was born and continued to be poor. Speaker 2: So, like, Cheesecake Factory is the height of dining. Speaker 2: in terms of, it's like, oh, wow. Speaker 6: It's vaguely Egyptian. Speaker 6: I don't care. Speaker 6: It is too. Speaker 6: It is kind of. Speaker 2: I don't care. Speaker 2: The point being, why is it vaguely Egyptian? Speaker 2: I don't know. Speaker 2: Anyway, whenever you go to like a Denny's in New England versus a Denny's or a friendlies in another, Speaker 2: but they'll have like, oh, this fish is local.
Speaker 2: So we have, you know, we have salmon. Speaker 2: Whereas, you know, there might be crab cakes further up north in the northeast, something like that. Speaker 2: So not only. Speaker 2: would you find stuff like that here in Esther Holt? Speaker 2: But you're also, because it's Bonzo's dark, there's going to be kind of plays on different things. Speaker 2: There will be a moment. Speaker 2: If it's canon that like, Logrin immediately, stop touching things. Speaker 2: Like, don't get under the table. Speaker 2: Don't get that. Speaker 2: So the surface name is Milisandra.
Speaker 2: And, you know, she's got a big long name tag. Speaker 2: But you're going to see her nostrils kind of flare. Speaker 2: She looks at the children just. Speaker 2: And then she's going to lean down to Loughran. Speaker 2: I think these children are drunk. Speaker 2: I can bring you something to help sober them up if that would help. Speaker 4: Lots of bread. Speaker 4: Bring them some bread, please. Speaker 4: Thank you. Speaker 2: Like, she can smell it on them a mile away. Speaker 2: Like, it's like, we probably can too. Speaker 4: Real young.
Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm sure. Speaker 4: Yeah. Speaker 2: They, you know, that one's clearly in high school. Speaker 6: That one is in the mini bar. Speaker 4: I told them not to. Speaker 4: don't report me. Speaker 2: So they're going to bring you, Speaker 2: they're going to bring you this complimentary bread basket thing. Speaker 2: And what it is is, is ironically enough, garlic bread, Speaker 2: but laced, laced in between it is this, Speaker 2: this kind of like a string cheese type of thing. Speaker 2: Like it's, it's, it's kind of, it's kind of, Speaker 2: like it's sliced Speaker 2: vertically.
And then Speaker 2: they kind of like lace different cheeses in between the different folds. Speaker 2: So as you squish it together, it kind of like it's, yeah, it's a heavy, it's a heavy Speaker 2: starter. But it's like, look, these kids are a plastered. Speaker 2: So it's like we're going to give you just a free appetizer, just why you look around. Speaker 2: It's like you're out. You're out. You're from outside of town. Speaker 2: But like, you're a big fan. Speaker 2: At least Ruby is. Speaker 2: Like. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 4: Well, that does a lot to win Lagerin over.
Speaker 4: Because first of all, like, that's a good look for, for, for, like, helping sober these, these stupid kids up. Speaker 6: Sure. Speaker 4: It's free. Speaker 4: Lagerin loves that, you know? Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. Speaker 2: Free's the best. Speaker 4: Yeah. Speaker 4: Yeah. Speaker 2: So, let me ask you guys a few questions while we're sitting down here. Speaker 2: What's the main goal in Esther Holt? Speaker 2: while you're here. Speaker 2: Like, obviously, you have things to do around the world. Speaker 2: We know that.
Speaker 2: But like, while you're in Esther Holt, it is a pinprick of light in a very dark continent right now Speaker 2: in terms of civilization, goods and services, and stuff. Speaker 2: So, like, what's the plan? Speaker 4: Well, I mean, it is something that we're probably going to... Speaker 4: Let's do it in character, right? Because Logren wants to, like, we want to bring it up in front of the kids, especially after the conversation we had last time. Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah. Do it while they're drunk. That's the... Yeah. Well, definitely remember.
Speaker 4: I don't know that this is the venue for it exactly. But yeah, no. Speaker 4: You're breaking up with them in public. That's what I think. Like that's... Speaker 4: What Loggerne really wants to do is to have to have this conversation over train whistles. Speaker 6: Yeah. Speaker 4: So. Speaker 8: I said I think we should see other adventure. Speaker 4: I mean, above the table, I think we're planning on using, like staying in an astral for a while. Speaker 4: But in character conversation, I think you'll probably maybe wait until morning when everybody's sobered up.
Speaker 4: Sure. Speaker 5: It's for the specific. Speaker 5: You've got to get some Adamantine, I think, is kind of our... Speaker 4: That's the immediate. Speaker 4: Next step. Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 3: I think Speaker 3: Nythera, knowing, now knowing that there's a whole section of this town Speaker 3: where vampires live and vampires live a very long time, Speaker 3: she may find someone her own age. Speaker 3: So if a pretty vampire boy catches her eye, she might have a night of fun. Speaker 2: You are way ahead of me. Speaker 3: Hold that thought.
Speaker 3: Okay. Speaker 3: Hey, it's been 11 years and she's 153. Speaker 3: year old woman. She could do what she wants. Speaker 2: Let's have a different pride. I don't think Speaker 2: anybody in this group is going to judge. Speaker 2: No, in fact, that's what Laughran Speaker 4: says to the kids when she goes off Speaker 2: with some vampire boys. It's been 11 years. Speaker 4: She's 153s. You can do what she wants. Speaker 5: We're just nodding. Speaker 5: Like, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, yep. Speaker 4: I know it's been 11 years. She talks about it a lot, actually.
Speaker 2: She's got a calendar. Speaker 4: She even says the Speaker 4: Because I'm too slow. Speaker 6: Yeah. Speaker 3: Maybe there's a reason why she's a little aggressive in battle guys. Speaker 3: Maybe this would calm her the fuck down. Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe her first option will be heard. Speaker 6: Oh, no, it'll soften those crits. Speaker 6: That's beginning of that. Speaker 2: It's like a box here. Speaker 2: We need it. Speaker 2: So the kids are pouring through this menu, by the way. Speaker 2: And this is probably the, well, I mean, Speaker 2: They're tipsy.
Speaker 2: But this is the loosed you've seen in the middle of while because they're not in imminent danger. Speaker 2: And strangely enough, the vampire thing doesn't seem to be bothering them all that much. Speaker 1: This is the safest they've been. Speaker 2: Right? Speaker 2: Kind of, right? Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 2: Yeah. I think they're like, okay, uh, some of them grew up in Aubrey, some of them spent Speaker 2: time there and there's a lot of anti-vampire sentiment, but, Speaker 2: I think they're just like, well, they're not going to open a business and have people in there to eat them.
Speaker 2: Like that doesn't make any sense. Speaker 2: Like that's, you know, so. Speaker 2: Yeah, okay. Speaker 2: Like, they're just kind of going along with it. Speaker 3: Oh, wait. Speaker 3: Okay. Speaker 3: How does Douglas Fairbanks feel? Speaker 3: Because we made him come with us. Speaker 6: Oh, that's right. Speaker 6: Yeah. Speaker 6: I forgot. Speaker 4: I forgot him. Speaker 4: Yeah. Speaker 1: Yeah. Speaker 1: Got. Speaker 1: Totally forgot. Speaker 1: He's on the end. Speaker 1: He's on the end. Speaker 2: He's on the end. Speaker 2: Yeah.
Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 6: He might be sitting in the booth next to you. Speaker 4: That's fine. Speaker 2: You know, like, it's sitting there. Speaker 2: Just, you know, he doesn't want to. Speaker 4: He was there. Speaker 4: He is being so still. Speaker 4: Yeah. Speaker 2: He's not, he's not a fan. Speaker 2: Like, he's just a little like, oh man, I don't want any trouble. Speaker 2: Like, not I think they're all evil. Speaker 2: Just like, I don't know anything about this culture. Speaker 2: I'm going to say or do the wrong thing. Speaker 2: And you know what I mean?
Speaker 4: Like, I'm like, I'm getting some of this car. Speaker 4: It's really good. Speaker 4: So much cheese in it. Speaker 3: Nitheer will look at the menu over Ruby's shoulder. Speaker 3: Niterer's sitting on the edge because she can't be inside. Speaker 3: That's no. Speaker 6: She has to be able to escape any second. Speaker 3: And she'll see on the menu. Speaker 3: She'll be like, oh, they have a herericane. Speaker 3: You should get that. Speaker 3: It's surprisingly strong, but really good. Speaker 1: I would. Speaker 1: Okay, let's get.
Speaker 1: Who wants one? Speaker 1: I do. Speaker 1: Yeah. Speaker 1: Okay. Speaker 1: That's full. Speaker 1: Or? Who else? Speaker 2: Kids will raise their hand. Speaker 3: No. No. No. Speaker 3: They were really popular about 100 years ago, but they're really good. Speaker 1: I will absolutely have one. Hey, Speaker 1: Kamari, will you split this with me? Speaker 1: And she points in the menu. And this comes out of because I'm visiting my mom's. Speaker 1: And we just went to like outback or something. Speaker 1: I'm making up a drink. Speaker 1: It's going to be, it's going to have some sort of alcohol in it probably.
Speaker 1: But it's like a, I'm a, Speaker 1: to call it this. Speaker 1: A Shirley Boulay. Speaker 1: And what it is Speaker 1: is it's basically, it's like some Speaker 1: vodka-e type drink, sort of clear, Speaker 1: whatever, it's kind of chilled. But Speaker 1: it comes with a little tiny Speaker 1: miniature boule that Speaker 1: whenever you, when you pour Speaker 1: something out of it, it's like Speaker 1: pomegranate. Speaker 6: It's like Speaker 6: it's like, wow. Speaker 6: Yeah. Speaker 1: And I imagine that the Speaker 1: boulets are not uncommon.
Speaker 1: People know that that's a thing Speaker 1: or outside of Estherhold probably. We didn't Speaker 1: quite know that. But it's a really Speaker 1: fun little thing where you get a little, you get to keep Speaker 1: the little toy. Oh my God, yes. That's it. Speaker 3: Nifer is going to order. And Jasper, you like this. She's going to get the Speaker 3: Permanter. Oh. Speaker 3: Oh. Yeah. It's mac and cheese. That's in a... Speaker 2: It's just liquid mac and cheese. Yeah. No, it's in our first book. It's a... Speaker 2: I know. I know. I know.
I was there. Speaker 3: I remember. Speaker 2: Of course. Speaker 2: Awesome. Speaker 3: Yeah, I have the book open. Speaker 3: That's why I was like, oh, what drinks could we highlight from our first book? Speaker 1: Oh, well, why not the second book? Speaker 1: Let's, can we get some Alcorn nails? Speaker 1: Just everybody gets one. Speaker 1: Yeah, can make sense. Speaker 4: You get one. Speaker 4: That's it. Speaker 4: That one's a low AVV. Speaker 4: It's only seven. Speaker 2: Yeah, that's just, it's again, like, there's. Speaker 2: Like, I think Millie here will even bring them virgin versions of these things and just kind of like.
Speaker 1: Ruby's just asking for all of it. Speaker 2: And it's just under the radar. Speaker 4: It's like, no. Speaker 1: Yeah. Speaker 1: No. Speaker 1: Not happening. Speaker 1: Every time. Speaker 4: Sure. Speaker 4: Every order something, Loggerin looks up and goes, mm-hmm. Speaker 4: Yes. Speaker 1: She won't notice. Speaker 1: She's just, she's going down the menu and she's like, one of those, one of those, one of those, one of those, one of those, one of those. Speaker 6: But not really. Speaker 6: That's it. Speaker 6: Yeah. Speaker 1: There are going to be a lot of different appetizers that do show up, though, that are going to be Speaker 6: kind of not insane, but probably pretty different.
Speaker 1: Like, like pickled onions with whatever. Speaker 5: I bet a lot of them are something like throat slasher's or something, too, where it's like Speaker 5: they all have like fake sort of violent red wings. Speaker 6: Yeah. Speaker 6: Yeah. Speaker 1: Yeah. Speaker 1: Yeah, a little bit. Speaker 1: Grave dust fritters. Speaker 2: Yes. Speaker 2: There are. Speaker 2: There are those in the community that look at that. Speaker 2: It's like, look, I understand tourism and all that. Speaker 2: The stereotype isn't helping. Speaker 6: This is a bad name.
Speaker 2: You know, come on, come on. Speaker 2: Like, you know, I get it. Speaker 2: But the organ music is going to be joined by, there's like a full band that comes out. Speaker 2: Like after about an hour of them being open, this place kind of becomes a party. Speaker 2: Like they, you know, and it's, it's, it's not completely overwhelming or something. Speaker 2: But like, there's a rhythm section and everything and there's, there's, there's, there's Speaker 2: music that's that's going to be starting here. And there's going to be a tall, very pale Speaker 2: gentleman with long dark hair.
Speaker 2: That looks like he's maybe in his mid-thirties, maybe 40, somewhere in Speaker 2: there. Probably not, though. Speaker 2: And he's going to approach the table and Nithera specifically. Speaker 2: Okay. Speaker 2: And he's kind of, because you're on the end there and he's going to bend down. Speaker 2: I'm so sorry, madam, I don't want to intrude, but would you like to dance? Speaker 2: Would you like to dance? Speaker 3: She'll look him up and down and give him like an assessing look. Speaker 3: Like, clearly taking it in. Speaker 3: And then go, I was just waiting for you to come by and then stand up.
Speaker 6: And then we put to the table. Speaker 6: That's good. Speaker 5: Make sure to get her a drink. Speaker 5: She's very thirsty. Speaker 1: Ruby is in the middle of eating whatever the equivalent of a hot wing is. Speaker 1: And she's got a huge plate in front of her. Speaker 1: She's like completely, like, holy crap. Speaker 1: I'm watching this like. Speaker 1: Look at her go. Like she's just enamored with Nythera as a whole thing. So this is just next level thing. Speaker 9: Adding another layer to the onion that is Nythera. Speaker 2: Oh my God.
Speaker 2: Can I get everyone who isn't Nythera here? Give me a perception check, please. Speaker 2: Oh no. Speaker 5: Can do. Speaker 2: Not sure. Just don't, don't immediately think it's, you know. Speaker 2: Just to notice something fun. Speaker 2: Yeah, just a lot. Oh, God damn, guys. Okay. Never mind. Speaker 2: Well, okay. Kimer did well. Ruby 8. Lachron's 3. Speaker 2: Chimera 15. Speaker 4: Lagerd's heads on a swivel and he's noticing nothing. Speaker 4: It's too much happening. Speaker 4: It's just, it's too much stimuli. Like it's all too, too, boop.
Speaker 4: He's trying to pay attention to all of it and getting none of it. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like being in the 90s. Speaker 5: Yeah, making sure we get the right food on the train that's coming by on the fucking Speaker 2: watching every. Speaker 4: Grab it, grab, grab, grata, grab, oh, it's gone. Speaker 4: No, that one is us. Speaker 2: They have like this horse-drawn carriage thing. Speaker 2: That's, yeah. Speaker 2: Oh, it's so cool. Like it's, yeah, it's really neat. Speaker 2: So while, while Nytheir is dancing, on the other end of Bonzo's, you're Speaker 2: gonna see this, this, this older looking man, probably in a 60s, somewhere in there, Speaker 2: like gray.
Speaker 2: And he is eyeballing the shit out of this vampire that Nitha is dancing with. Speaker 2: Just mean mugging the shit out of him. Speaker 2: Not let him. Speaker 2: He's not eating. He's not drinking. Speaker 2: He's not drinking. He's just sitting there to the point where when Millie goes over there to take Speaker 2: his order, like he is completely like, what? Speaker 2: Like he's just completely. Speaker 2: like he was in another world. Speaker 2: And he's going to order like a single drink. Speaker 2: And then just like, just like go back to watching this guy.
Speaker 5: Ruby. Speaker 5: Put the wing down. Speaker 5: One sec. Put the wing down. Speaker 5: Nope. Speaker 5: All right. Speaker 5: What is it? Speaker 5: Don't swallow the bone then. Speaker 5: What? Speaker 5: What? Speaker 5: You want some harpy knuckles? Speaker 6: I do. Speaker 5: Yes, actually. I do. Speaker 5: I do. Speaker 5: These are good. Speaker 5: I think she's breaking some hearts over there. Speaker 5: I think there's a little jealous triangle going on here. Speaker 5: Do you see that gentleman over there? Speaker 5: He is not happy, the one with the sour face.
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Speaker 1: The one looks like he ate some of those pickles. Speaker 5: Yeah. Speaker 5: Yeah. Speaker 5: I think there's a little ex-lover going on here. Speaker 5: Or maybe a current lover. Speaker 5: That's more that meets the eye. Speaker 1: I guarantee you that she, and she's pointing at Night Thera, Speaker 1: she's going to make this, she's going to make this be her best night ever. Speaker 1: I don't care what's going on here. Speaker 1: I don't know if it's going to be a fight or they're all three going to leave together.
Speaker 1: Whatever it is, she's going to come back to us tomorrow and tell us it was the best things ever happened. Speaker 5: Oh, God, I hope it's both of those things actually. Speaker 5: Fight that leads to. Speaker 2: Yeah, yes. Speaker 2: You're going to watch this guy kind of reach into his coat. Speaker 2: And around that time, Millie's going to come back with the drink, Speaker 2: and he's just going to pull the hand out of it. Speaker 2: It's like, oh, thank you, thank you, thank you. Speaker 2: But it looked suspicious. Speaker 2: In a world that barely has guns, Speaker 2: there's no version of a gun in theory.
Speaker 2: that you'd be able to reach into your jacket and not pull out half, you know, half a pipe worth of like, it would be like a shotgun every time. Speaker 2: Or a rifle, like, like, you know, Jameson wanted. So like, there's no, there's no 45. Like, there's nothing like that. So, Speaker 2: so you're not exactly sure what he was reaching for, but can we? Speaker 1: I thought. Since we were just looking at him while that was happening, Speaker 1: Can we do it? Speaker 1: Insight check? Speaker 1: Would that be? Speaker 1: Or is that not?
Speaker 1: Maybe not insight. Speaker 1: I'm just trying to see if we can glean something. Speaker 1: It's hard to judge intent when you haven't spoken to the person. Speaker 6: You're right. Speaker 2: There's body language stuff. Speaker 2: Like, I can give you rough body language stuff, so give me insight. Speaker 1: I mean, you know, I guess the idea is, is this guy a jilted lover and he's annoyed? Speaker 1: Or is this person who's dangerous? Speaker 1: Like actually violent. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 2: Oh. Speaker 1: There we go.
Speaker 1: Let's go. Speaker 1: Yeah. Speaker 1: I mean, we're trained on this. Speaker 1: Oh, oh. Speaker 1: chimera and Ruby love tea. Speaker 1: Like, like they will gossip out. Speaker 1: They will sit in a city and just people watch and be like, Speaker 1: that person is cheating on that person. Speaker 6: That person is stealing money from that. Speaker 1: Whatever it is, right? Speaker 6: Just kind of just practicing for fun and having a good time. Speaker 1: So they're like, well, Speaker 1: what, 22, 23 on insight? Like, is this guy?
Speaker 2: Yeah, Ruby and Gunner, 22, 23. Speaker 2: Uh, he, I don't think you're getting jilted lover necessarily. Speaker 2: You're getting, you're getting, you're getting suspicion and anger. Speaker 2: Uh, and after, after Millie goes away, he's going to reach back in and he's writing Speaker 2: something down. Speaker 2: and he's going to stuff it back in his jacket. Speaker 2: And he is going to kind of bang back this drink real quick Speaker 2: and then slap some coins on the counter. Speaker 2: And he's going to just make a break for the door kind of double-time it, Speaker 2: but the entire time just watching that guy.
Speaker 2: Can I get an athletics check for Nithera? Speaker 3: Isn't dancing more? Speaker 3: dexterity based, not strengths. Speaker 3: I, well, Speaker 2: performance. Do you want to do performance? That's more charisma, but like it's... Speaker 3: I would love to do acrobatics. Speaker 1: You know what? If you want to make it showy, let's make it showy. Let's, you know, it's... Speaker 1: I love thinking that... I love thinking that would be doing something more showy. Speaker 1: That this is not... Like, there's not showy. Speaker 1: That there's very functional and elegant, but this would be the time for her to just...
Speaker 3: Almost be theatrical. Speaker 1: Yeah. Speaker 1: And it'd be like, um, Speaker 1: Adam's family, Mortisha. Speaker 1: You know, that big dance and they do the spins and all that. Speaker 3: And it probably goes with this atmosphere too. Speaker 3: But yeah, I really don't want to do anything athletic or strength base because I have minus one. Speaker 2: That doesn't play into your, your strength. Speaker 2: That's good. Speaker 2: Okay. Speaker 2: Let's let's let's give me, give me, give me something. Speaker 2: Dexy. Speaker 2: Or a deck save.
Speaker 3: Ooh, I like that better. Speaker 3: And then on top of that, Nithira doesn't just automatically assume that this guy is interested in her in her line and work. Speaker 3: So I would love to roll an insight to see if he really is or if this is a setup. Speaker 2: Sure. Speaker 3: Because Nithra has been backstab way too many times. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 3: 10 decks save things through. Speaker 2: That's not terrible. Speaker 3: Maybe a little stiff. Speaker 2: maybe like a little, like, maybe you're, while you're, Speaker 2: gauging whether it's like, okay, so are you, are you trying to kill me?
Speaker 2: Or like, like, it's always that. You know what I mean? Speaker 2: Like, you've been on the road for a very long time and, you know, not, not, not. Speaker 2: Not to judge a book by his cover. He is a vampire. Speaker 2: It's not, you know what I mean? Like, it's, it's, it's not a race thing. Speaker 2: It's just, you know. Speaker 3: And I'd like to think in one of her times, she's literally been stabbed by the person, her dance partner before. Speaker 3: Like another person was out to get her. Speaker 2: Like some Mr. Mrs. Smith shit. Speaker 3: Yeah.
Speaker 3: Yeah. Speaker 2: Right, right, right. Speaker 2: Give me some insight. Speaker 2: Okay. Speaker 2: No. Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Speaker 2: No. Speaker 2: I think that there is just down bad. Speaker 3: I think that that's a four. Speaker 3: It's been too long. Speaker 6: It's the mini bar. Speaker 6: The main margin. Speaker 3: No, Nightmare didn't touch the cheap shit from the minibar. Speaker 3: Right, that's right. Speaker 2: Remember, we're talking to name brand glasses over here. Speaker 3: Well, Niterra and Logrin both opened up their own special 18-year scotch.
Speaker 2: That's right. Speaker 2: I was joking. I'm not judging. Speaker 2: I, you know, they do over-churchase. Speaker 2: to the minibar. Speaker 2: They do. Speaker 2: This guy's going to strike up like casual conversation while you're doing that. Speaker 2: You may need to relax. Speaker 3: Well, that's what I'm hoping to do. Speaker 2: Have you been on the road long? Speaker 3: Very, very, very long. Speaker 2: You know, if you're a visitor here to Esther Hold, I can give you a lovely walking tour. Speaker 3: I would love to see the sights.
Speaker 2: It's beautiful this time of night. Speaker 2: You don't have to deal with, no offense, all the tourists. Speaker 3: It's also my favorite time of day. Speaker 2: He'll kind of hold his arm out. Speaker 2: It's like, shall we? Speaker 2: that type of thing. Speaker 2: Like, he's ready to just kind of like... Speaker 3: Night Thera will say as she grabs his arm and... Speaker 3: She'll look over to the group and wink and then say to him, Speaker 3: See, I was just expecting a diversion, but you may actually be a temptation. Speaker 3: Oh.
Speaker 2: And yeah, they're going to go ahead and walk out the door here. Speaker 2: just kind of touring the streets of the gloaming quarter right now, but like, yeah, just like, it's, it's a nice night. Speaker 2: It's, it's, it's snowing, but not like, it's definitely not as bad as it has been. Speaker 2: The weather's a little better down here. It's not warm by any means, but like it's, it's nicer right now. Speaker 2: There's no hail, there's no, you know, that, that wind that just cuts through layers, that type of thing. Speaker 3: And then we could do fade to black and she'll come back tomorrow morning.
Speaker 2: Sure. Speaker 2: You know, you're not getting out of our endurance role. Speaker 2: It is a, it is a, okay, it is a tradition. Speaker 3: Jason, Nithera now has a 19 constitution. Speaker 3: So. Speaker 3: Oh, wow. Speaker 2: Okay. Speaker 2: Yoga every day, like, just like the car goes up. Speaker 5: Okay. Speaker 3: She's been practicing for this moment. Speaker 5: She's just like 11 years. Speaker 6: 11 years. Speaker 5: Like prison workouts. Speaker 3: You know, it's actually probably been longer than that. Speaker 3: She was taking care of her husband near the end.
Speaker 2: Oh, geez. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 2: I bet she was. Speaker 3: That is not how we went out. Speaker 6: That is not how we went out. Speaker 2: Oh, we can all hope. Speaker 2: You know. Speaker 4: like this. Speaker 4: If I marry a hot immortal assassin, that's exactly how I want to go out. Speaker 2: Amen. Speaker 2: Amen. Speaker 2: One of us is fucked up if not. Speaker 2: Like, that's, that's, yeah. Speaker 2: I'd say like 45 minutes later, you guys are going to get the check. Speaker 2: It's probably substantial. Speaker 2: Like it's not crazy.
Speaker 2: But Millie would have like, like shaved off as much as she could. Speaker 2: Just kind of, it's like, look, you look like you've had a real hard time. Speaker 2: Just enjoy the city. Come on back before you leave. Speaker 6: Oh, we'll be back. Give you a nice. Speaker 1: We'll be back. Can we get boxes? Can we get boxes for all this? She's going to point at like eight different plates. Speaker 2: When will take to go. Yeah. Speaker 2: By the way, everybody out there, we are at carrying capacity for a lot of our characters here. Speaker 2: So I think it's a go-box would destroy chimera right now.
Speaker 5: He's been over and combined. Speaker 6: We need. Speaker 5: Just bowed in the legs trying to carry a cheesecake back to the room. Speaker 5: So dense. Speaker 6: Yeah. Speaker 6: I have never had a cake back to the room. Speaker 2: I have never had a cake. Speaker 2: I've become over-encumbered in D&D before. I genuinely don't know what happens. I would imagine it's like Speaker 2: fallout rules, right? It just halves your movement speed or something. Yeah. Does it gives you some, Speaker 5: some some fatigue? I don't know, but let's not find out.
Yeah, please. This cheesecake can't be Speaker 5: more than three pounds. It's called grave cake and there's three different toppings on it. Speaker 3: See, I was thinking she's very possessive. Speaker 3: A volcano cake. So when you cut it open, like the red horse out. Speaker 6: Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. That's good. Speaker 2: I still T-shirts. I don't know. But of course, yeah. Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Does Ruby want one to get one in like every sit? Yeah. Speaker 2: She, you know what she's going to do? I would imagine they have like patches.
You can sew to your backpack type of thing. Speaker 6: Yeah. Speaker 6: Yeah. Oh, that's good. I was thinking that. Speaker 1: shot glasses. You know, it's like, you know, the Bonzo's, you know, Esther whole. Speaker 2: In your line of work, there's no way you're going to get a complete set before breaking those. Speaker 1: No way. Well, she would, whatever she's collecting, she will hyper fixate on collecting Speaker 1: patches. Let's just, let's say patches. I think that's good from Bonzo's and she will immediately Speaker 1: lose them. Like she will never be able to find them.
Like, oh no, I left it at Aubrey. Speaker 1: Oh. Speaker 4: It's going to absolutely buys a second set that he can keep for. Speaker 2: That's sweet. Speaker 2: Very sweet. Speaker 4: She's going to lose that. Speaker 4: Give me one too. Speaker 4: Yeah. Speaker 2: Oh, that's so good. Speaker 2: Again, Patches work way better than shot glasses because they would absolutely break if Speaker 6: Lager would help them. Speaker 6: Yes. Speaker 6: Oh, my God. Speaker 1: Yeah. Speaker 1: There's a good chance she has a little pouch pocket leather thing somewhere on, somewhere on her Speaker 1: entire body that she just, it's going to Speaker 1: got, it's got like 18 patches.
Speaker 6: Yeah. Speaker 6: She's like, oh my God. Speaker 6: I forgot. Speaker 1: I'm like, here they are. Speaker 1: We're not there yet. Speaker 1: This is her second bonzo, guys. Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Speaker 2: Of many. Speaker 2: So you guys get outside. Speaker 2: It's crisp. Speaker 2: It's cool. Speaker 2: It's like 1.30 in the morning at this point, right? Speaker 2: And this place has come alive. Speaker 2: Like, there's people out on the street. Speaker 2: But it's not. Speaker 2: It's like overpopulated, but there are people out and about.
Speaker 2: Like, there's a little market district. Speaker 2: They're selling stuff. Speaker 2: They're, you know, they're doing their thing. Speaker 2: But there's an interesting, there's an interesting vibe about the culture of this place. Speaker 2: Because you, you immediately get this feeling. Speaker 2: They have guards posted around and stuff. Speaker 2: You get the feeling that all of the feeling that all of the Speaker 2: these vampires are kind of vouching for each other. Speaker 2: They have their own little section of the city, their own, you know, their laws kind of coincide with Speaker 2: Esther Holtz.
But if someone steps out of line and breaks the rules, it makes everyone look bad. Speaker 2: And no one wants another Aubrey situation. Speaker 2: So they're, they're kind of strict about like, they're, they'll keep an eye on you and just like, Speaker 2: hi, just making sure, but making sure you're not harassed for any reason. Speaker 2: you will see that guy again watching you leave this place. Speaker 2: And he's, you almost miss him because he's, he's watching you guys now. Speaker 2: Like he's, he's watching you. Speaker 2: And you almost miss him because he's kind of under a street lamp.
Speaker 2: And you'll, you'll see him kind of like smoking on a pipe. Speaker 2: And he's watching all you guys. Speaker 2: He's not approaching or anything like that. Speaker 2: Just kind of like like, like, just kind of like, Speaker 2: Just kind of puffing and keep in an eye on you guys. Speaker 2: Man, before we, before we leave, like as we're leaving, Speaker 5: Kamira, could he have asked about that dude to Millie? Speaker 5: Just been like, hey, we saw a gentleman. Speaker 5: You were trying to serve him. Speaker 5: And he was just, he had a very angry look on his face.
Speaker 10: Do you know him? Have you seen him before? Speaker 10: Is he a regular? Is he around? Speaker 5: like that kind of thing. Speaker 2: Yeah, and she would, she'd kind of lower her voice. Speaker 2: Yeah, that's Drew. Drew is, he's a regular. Speaker 2: He likes to keep an eye on things down here, human. Speaker 2: Not, I mean, you know what I mean? Speaker 2: Not. Speaker 2: And she's going to like point to herself. Speaker 2: He's kind of naturally suspicious. Speaker 2: He's originally from Aubrey. Speaker 2: And I just think he's naturally, you know, Speaker 2: kind of predisposed to thinking we're up to something all the time.
Speaker 2: I just trying to pay rent, but, you know. Speaker 5: Oh, gotcha. Speaker 5: Oh, so he is, he's human. Speaker 5: He's a, he's not a vampire. Speaker 5: Oh, I see. Speaker 5: No, no, no, no, no, no. Speaker 5: So he comes here and just kind of makes a stink for you. Speaker 5: Is he difficult? Speaker 5: Is he violent? Speaker 2: No, he's just. Speaker 2: Drew's fine. He's never, he's never been outright mean or anything. I just think he's... Speaker 2: I always get the feeling he's waiting for something bad to happen. Speaker 2: And the last few nights he's been coming in here and...
Speaker 2: Well, your friend was dancing. He... Speaker 2: He's been staring at that guy every night. So... I don't know. I don't know if it's personal or... Speaker 2: I don't know. I try not to get involved. Speaker 5: Thank you, Milly. You've been a hell of a server. Speaker 5: You're pretty amazing. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 2: Make sure your friend doesn't eat everything that she ordered Speaker 2: because that will kill her. So just... Speaker 5: I can't promise anything. Speaker 1: I mean, the Cali on Cue. Speaker 1: That's lethal. Speaker 1: Like it's she's probably eaten 8,000 calories.
Speaker 1: Right, she's probably in terrible, terrible. Speaker 1: You probably, probably when you're speaking, you're hearing her go, oh, oh, in the background, just moaning, just, Speaker 1: oh, wow, ow. Speaker 4: You got to stop, quit it. Speaker 4: Yeah, I can't. Speaker 4: For three hours. Speaker 1: I can't stop. Speaker 1: I will stop. Speaker 1: I will stop. Speaker 1: I will stop. Speaker 1: Anyway. Speaker 1: I will be better. Speaker 11: Ah, welcome, welcome to Bonzo's Dark, the crown jewel of Estherholds gloaming Speaker 11: quarter.

Speaker 11: So, join us tonight because at Bonzo's dark, Speaker 11: Everybody is to die for.

Speaker 1: It keeps the lights on, keeps everything moving for dungeons and randomness, Speaker 1: and make sure that the epic story keeps flowing. Speaker 1: Patreon.com slash d-A-N-D-R. Speaker 1: See ya. Speaker 5: Yeah. Speaker 5: So when we're all outside then, I just kind of like, I just kind of like nudge Logrin and Ruby and just kind of go. Speaker 5: We've got someone watching us. His name is Drew. Human from Aubrey.
Speaker 5: I don't know if you know him, Logrim. Probably not. Speaker 1: Yeah, friend of yours. Speaker 4: Probably not, but I can roll a history in case this dude's got like a rep in Aubrey or something. Speaker 2: Yeah, sure. Speaker 2: Go for it. Speaker 2: It could be fun. Speaker 2: Give me a 20. Speaker 2: D20, yeah. Speaker 6: I should have asked for D12. Speaker 6: Damn it. Speaker 6: I can do it again. Speaker 2: I'll go again. Speaker 2: No, no, it's fine. Speaker 2: The moment's past. Speaker 4: I get a 16 on a history check. Speaker 2: So interesting.
Speaker 2: 16. Speaker 2: 16. Speaker 2: Oh, damn. Speaker 2: And an 8. Speaker 1: On a D12. Speaker 6: Round about the same. Speaker 2: Honestly, yeah. Speaker 2: So very interesting. Speaker 2: If this is the same person, like, Lager never met him, but there's a man named Drew Adderkrank, Speaker 2: who... Speaker 2: He's a bit of a conspiracy theorist. Speaker 2: And... Speaker 2: he has traveled to a couple of big cities. Speaker 2: He came from Aubrey, Speaker 2: but he's traveled to a couple of big cities just keeping an eye on Speaker 2: vampires specifically, but people who are different.
Speaker 2: And when he expects, like, oh, he might be a warlock. Speaker 2: They might be, they might have a demon in them. Speaker 2: They might have a, you know, so he kind of considers himself like a city auditor. Speaker 2: And he just goes from big city to big city, you know, following. Speaker 2: people that he suspects of some kind of wrongdoing and then eventually confronting them very publicly Speaker 2: and kind of ruining someone's life. Speaker 2: It's kind of like the Therian version of being canceled. Speaker 2: Like everyone remembers the accusation and it's like, and here, and here's where you, and it's Speaker 2: like he's never going to retract it visibly, right?
So it's very, yeah, he's got Speaker 2: people killed before is what I'm trying to say. Speaker 2: Ooh. Speaker 4: Yeah, so it's just kind of turn to. Speaker 4: And look and see this guy. Speaker 4: I think that's Drew Speaker 4: at her crank. Speaker 4: He is a bit of a nut job. Speaker 4: But he's not harmless. Speaker 4: Because he can Speaker 4: he can give somebody enough of a rep that they get into trouble. Speaker 4: Hmm. Speaker 4: So he just waves. Speaker 4: Hey, Drew. Speaker 2: Hey, Drew. Speaker 2: So he's got, he's giving himself the nickname Speaker 4: the judge.
Yeah, no, he's, yeah. Yeah, he's calling down the street. Like, hey, like, you Speaker 4: fucking nut job. How's it going? Just don't let you back and off. Speaker 4: Oh. Speaker 4: Do you actually call out to him? Yeah. In the street. Because here's the thing, like, if what, Speaker 4: I'm taking a bit of a liberty, but with the 16 history check, if he knows that much about him, Speaker 4: he could probably remember a specific incident he caused. He caused. Speaker 4: in Aubrey. Speaker 4: Yeah. Speaker 4: So he knows that you beat this dude at his own game.
Speaker 4: You call him out and shine a light on him before he gets a chance to do it to somebody else. Speaker 2: So in Aubrey, you probably remember that there was like a young boy, like 13, 14. Speaker 2: And this guy essentially followed this kid around and accused him of making a pact with a warlock in the city of Aubrey. Speaker 2: and followed this kid relentlessly looking for proof, looking for proof. Speaker 2: And eventually the kid was kind of an aspiring magic user, Speaker 2: but never really got a handle on it because we never went to a school for it.
Speaker 2: So probably more a sorcerer than anything else and just never really got a handle on it. Speaker 2: So he'd be able to like conjure fire a little bit. Speaker 2: It's like aha! Like he would, you know, he got this kid killed. Speaker 2: It was so bad he had to leave the city. Speaker 2: The heat was so like when you severed, Speaker 2: somebody from their demonic contract, there's something visible that you can see happen. Speaker 2: Like, let's say chimera was murdered. Speaker 2: There'd be a visible thing. Speaker 2: And when nothing happened when this kid died, he's like, oh, fuck.
Speaker 2: And he was chased out of the city and the heat was bad. Speaker 4: Yeah. Speaker 4: So law room will flat out. Speaker 4: It would be like, like, hey, you fucking that job. Speaker 4: Remember the time you got that kid killed, you psycho, get out of here. Speaker 4: Like, holy shit, who's life you're trying to ruin now? Speaker 4: Get out of here. Speaker 6: But it's like, like, friendly the whole time. Speaker 4: When you go on and get and just piss off, I think there's a black cat down the way. Speaker 4: If you want to go ruin its life, you piece of shit.
Speaker 1: Would the kids know him? Would the kids recognize him? Speaker 1: I think it was a little before their time. Speaker 2: Because like he's probably like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Speaker 2: The cycle. The cycle's always like, something terrible happens. Speaker 2: He spends two years in exile, then shows up somewhere else and just, Speaker 6: starts his schick all over again. Speaker 2: So yeah, he's gonna, he's gonna like, like, who's calling my name? Speaker 2: Like, like, like a spotlight shown on him. Like the scene of Beetlejuice. Speaker 2: Like it's just like, like, he's just gonna be like, oh, and just like sink into the darkness and kind of like trundle down the alleyway, just kind of like getting getting out of there.
Speaker 2: Just it's like, oh. The fact that you, Speaker 2: You recognized him and called it. Speaker 2: Like, it's like that. Speaker 2: No one knows who I am here. Speaker 2: Oh, shit. Speaker 2: Like, he's gone. Speaker 4: Now all the vampires in this block do. Speaker 4: So, there you go. Speaker 4: Fucking creep. Speaker 5: Oh, awesome. Speaker 5: Way to go log. Speaker 5: Guess we don't have to worry about him anymore. Speaker 5: That's perfect. Speaker 5: I love it. Speaker 5: I love it when you've been drinking. Speaker 4: He's like, I'd be real.
Speaker 4: Like, just loud enough that any vampires in the immediate areas, Speaker 4: I'd be real pieces. Speaker 4: be a real shame if somebody fucking ate that guy. Speaker 4: Sounds like he wouldn't be missed either. Speaker 6: No, it wouldn't be missed at all. Speaker 4: I think you'd get some high fives for sure. Speaker 4: Uh, Speaker 4: six vampires fucked down here. Speaker 2: Like tiptoeing. Speaker 2: So, okay, let's do something fun. Speaker 2: Okay. Speaker 2: So you're, if there's nothing you want to do here, your driver will take you back.
Speaker 2: Like, I think that's the plan. Like, I think we went out, we got drinks, we got food. Speaker 4: We got leftovers. We got to get home and get in the mini fridge that are now very empty. Speaker 4: And most of us are going to get some sleep, I think. So. Speaker 3: Not all of us need sleep, so. Speaker 3: Not all of us need to. Speaker 6: Can I get a Speaker 6: T. Speaker 2: Can I get a Constitution saving throw there, Susan? Speaker 3: Yes. Speaker 3: Yes, you can. Speaker 5: Let's go. Speaker 3: Okay, wait. Speaker 3: This is for Ninthira.
Speaker 3: She needs this. Speaker 3: She's been waiting. Speaker 3: It better be good. Speaker 2: I'll roll too. Speaker 2: Let's do it. Speaker 3: Okay. Speaker 3: We can't do my girl wrong. Speaker 3: She has to have a good night. Speaker 2: D20 plus five. Speaker 3: No, we're re-rolling it. Speaker 3: I'm using fortunate. Speaker 2: He got a 21. Speaker 3: Jesus Christ, it's not my night. Speaker 3: I have 12. Speaker 1: Look, I'll give you inspiration. Speaker 2: So, okay. Speaker 2: Wait, can I send another fate point? Speaker 3: Because I really, after a long rest, she gets them back.
Speaker 3: I have three. Speaker 2: Sure. If you want, if this means that much, absolutely. Speaker 2: So everybody at home. Speaker 6: Do it for the bed. Speaker 6: Yeah. Speaker 2: You wrote a seven for a constitution to save and then a 12, which is, you know, a market improvement. Speaker 3: Yes. Speaker 3: Okay, guys. Good vibes. All of you. Speaker 2: Support and hero. Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. Speaker 2: Good. Good. Speaker 2: Fictional sexy vibes. Speaker 3: Yes. Speaker 12: Okay, 15. Speaker 12: That's way better. Speaker 12: Yes. I'll take it. It's above average.
Speaker 5: Okay. That's what I tell everyone. Speaker 5: So. Speaker 2: So this guy's name is Zera. Speaker 2: Right? And obviously, Speaker 2: there's a little, kind of a nice little walking tour of the gloaming quarter and showing you around stalls and stuff like that. Speaker 2: It's like, oh, there's necklaces from here to, you know, kind of offers to buy you something. Speaker 2: If you, you know, you get the impression that. Speaker 3: Oh, wait. Speaker 3: When he goes to offer to her to buy something, she'll say, you could buy me breakfast.
Speaker 3: Oh. Speaker 4: Oh. Speaker 4: Mm-hmm. Speaker 4: Damn. Speaker 4: Just does not mince words. Speaker 4: This guy has no room to misinterpret what she's after. Speaker 2: Right. Speaker 2: Why are we still walking? Speaker 2: I didn't think you were going to actually do the walking tour. Speaker 2: I thought this was like coffee or something. Speaker 2: Like, okay. Speaker 3: You don't have to work for this one. Speaker 2: No, he's trying to, like he's trying. Speaker 2: But it'd be after that, it's like, all right. Speaker 2: And just walk, walk, walk, walk, walk.
Speaker 2: Like, just, you'll take you back to his place, which is a nice little, uh, nice little state house kind of thing. Speaker 2: Like it's, it's, it's a nice, it's not a huge house or anything like that. Speaker 2: But there are decorations in this place that you kind of get the impression. Speaker 2: It's like, this guy's at least 100. Speaker 2: Like you, like, it's like walking into a current house and they have like a 70s backslash in their kitchen. Speaker 2: It's like, holy shit. Speaker 2: Like, we need to everything is avocado green.
Speaker 2: What the fuck? Speaker 2: That's this house. Speaker 2: So, we're trying. Speaker 2: It's like, okay, well, that's, that's crazy. Speaker 2: But like, it's kind of got, it's kind of like, you know, a little old school charm. Speaker 2: Can you have a sunken den? Speaker 2: Like one of those sitting areas. Speaker 6: One of those like shack carpet. Speaker 6: Like, oh, yeah. Speaker 2: That's perfect. It's not big, not big. Not big. Speaker 2: Do you guys have the kind of sex where you break furniture? Speaker 2: I get that vibe from my thing.
Speaker 2: But I don't know. Speaker 3: You know what, Jason? I've never really thought about my theorist sexual Speaker 2: That's why I'm here. Yeah. That's why I'm here. We need to answer the questions. Speaker 3: Yeah, I haven't been much thought into it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, there probably is some Speaker 3: built-up desperation into it for her. So there might be. Speaker 3: Because at this point, it's probably like, she fights how she fucks. Speaker 3: Sure. Speaker 2: It's all crits. Speaker 3: He's dead. Speaker 3: Actually. Speaker 3: Damn it.
Speaker 1: This is like Vulcan pond far or whatever. Speaker 1: Like it's like some. Speaker 1: Right. Speaker 1: Like some. Speaker 1: A little too much. Speaker 1: Like, oh, okay. Okay. Stop. Stop. Speaker 1: I don't. Speaker 2: If you sleep over. Speaker 2: he would actually be the breakfast thing. Speaker 2: I don't know. Speaker 2: Again, I don't know if this is like, oh, coffee. Speaker 2: But like he will get you. Speaker 2: It's like, yeah, we can. Speaker 2: There's a lovely little place, a little cafe down the street. Speaker 2: We can, you know, he seems legit interested in you.
Speaker 2: Not just like, oh, a tourist. Speaker 2: Like, I don't know, something about you. Speaker 2: He vibes on. Speaker 2: Oh, no. Speaker 2: That doesn't mean you have to? Speaker 3: He has to. Speaker 2: After 11 years, Speaker 2: Is it a rebound? Speaker 3: But the first one you go, that is not, that's not how that was. Speaker 2: It's a reboot. Speaker 3: Yeah. Speaker 2: But he'd tell you a little bit about himself and, you know, he's been, you know. Speaker 3: I was talking about this with them. Speaker 3: I was, she probably will connect to him with him on like, oh my God, did you see the, Speaker 3: the Joy Potoms?
Speaker 3: Like, in their first tour. Speaker 3: as well and like, oh my God, Speaker 3: remember, Vecna, wasn't it cool when Speaker 3: we didn't know if God's actually existed? Speaker 3: Like... Speaker 2: Oh, this all used to be farmland. Speaker 3: Right, exactly. Speaker 2: Yeah, okay. Speaker 2: Kids today, no work ethic. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 2: I got four now. I know. Speaker 2: Like, just, you know, yeah. Speaker 2: Can I get a perception check from you, Susan, please? Speaker 3: Yes. Speaker 3: Here's hoping. Speaker 3: And my roles are better.
Speaker 2: Oh, hey, look at that. Speaker 2: 30. 20. Speaker 2: You're going to notice. Speaker 2: An older-looking gentleman, maybe in his 60s, gray hair, kind of a bushy beard, Speaker 2: sitting in the little cafe with you, like, but just constantly like peeking up at your date here. Speaker 2: Just every couple of seconds looking up, looking up, you know. Speaker 2: Not being sneaky at all. Speaker 2: Being as how sneaky is your, you know, profession. Speaker 3: Niterra will look at him and say to Zera, Speaker 3: there's an older human man watching you.
Speaker 2: I know. Speaker 2: Like, you can hear the weariness. Speaker 2: in his voice. Speaker 2: Like, as he's like, I know, it's been almost a week. Speaker 3: I don't typically make business and pleasure, Speaker 3: but do you want me to take care of him? Speaker 2: His, so his eyebrows is going to arch. Speaker 2: Take care. Speaker 2: Well, believe me. Speaker 2: if I were going to do something like that, it would have been done about six days ago, Speaker 2: but it would be giving him what he wants. Speaker 13: Although, if you wanted to spook him off, that could be funny.
Speaker 3: Leave it to me. Speaker 3: And night there will stand up from the table and go over to that. Speaker 2: He's very uncomfortable with that, by the way, the guy, the guy sitting at the table, Speaker 2: Drew is like, it's like, oh shit, you see me. Speaker 2: Like he's almost invisible, right? Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 2: It's 4.m. How do you see me? Speaker 2: Like it's, you know, like he's, you know, yeah. Speaker 2: So if you get up and start walking over to him, he'll kind of like scramble back a little bit. Speaker 2: You hear the chair drags like, as he stands up and he's, like, ".
Speaker 2: Uh, he'll... Speaker 2: Evening, ma'am? Speaker 2: But, like, he's tensed up, like he's got to fight. Speaker 3: Hey, I'm on a date, and you're ruining it. Speaker 2: Uh, I'm sitting here enjoying a muffin. Speaker 2: I don't understand what, uh, what, uh, what am I doing. Speaker 2: How? Speaker 3: Why? Why? Why? Speaker 3: To what purpose? Speaker 2: Give me a persuasion check, please. Speaker 2: Well, not my... Speaker 2: There wasn't. Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Speaker 2: Well, that's a two. That's a tip. Speaker 2: Look. Speaker 3: I can do intimidation.
Speaker 2: That's my bread and butter. Speaker 2: That might be Speaker 2: I don't know as Xerox. Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Speaker 3: You're a horrible liar. Speaker 2: I am not. Speaker 2: Like he's like, hey, I lie for a living. Speaker 2: What are you talking about? Speaker 2: Like, I'm great at it. Speaker 2: Like, he's almost offended that like, hey, I have a newsletter. Speaker 3: Let me guess. Speaker 3: In the gloaming district, what? Speaker 3: You're following vampires? Speaker 3: There's dozens. Speaker 3: There's hundreds. Speaker 3: What?
Speaker 3: What? Speaker 2: All right. Speaker 2: A little lady. Speaker 2: Like he's going to get in. Speaker 2: And his, his breath. Speaker 2: smells like tobacco and cat shit, kind of. Speaker 2: So he's going to get in close. Speaker 2: All right, little lady, your boyfriend over there, Speaker 2: I think he's hired a child. Speaker 2: And I am going to get to the bottom of it because that is highly illegal in the city of Speaker 2: Esterholt in his own kind. Speaker 2: Don't even allow that. Speaker 2: So as soon as I find proof. Speaker 2: Like, he's doing you a favor, basically, by telling you this.
Speaker 2: Like, this is an inside scoop. Speaker 3: How tall is he? Speaker 2: Not very. Speaker 3: Okay. Speaker 2: Like 5-8, 5-9. Speaker 2: Just tall enough to be angry about not being taller. Speaker 3: Yep. And night there is 6-2. So he's looking up leaning in. Speaker 2: Yes. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 2: Yeah, so that smell does travel upward. Speaker 2: All right. Speaker 2: That's good. Speaker 2: I want to make sure the physics of it work. Speaker 2: There is a muffin on his table, by the way. Speaker 3: To grab his wrist and do that thing where you twist it backwards, where it's held to like the point of really hurting.
Speaker 2: Sure. Speaker 3: Now listen here, you little insignificant bug. Speaker 3: You will stop following this man. Speaker 3: You have no proof, and you are vermin. Speaker 3: You will leave this city, you will leave this man, and you will leave me alone. Speaker 3: Not all monsters are easy to spot, and maybe you just messed with the wrong one. Speaker 2: I'm going to have to ask for an intimidation check. Speaker 2: And... Speaker 3: Come on, night, you're a... Speaker 2: I know. Speaker 3: I don't want to do you wrong. Speaker 5: Her pipes are all clean, too, so...
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Speaker 5: God damn it. Speaker 5: Okay, okay. Speaker 6: Oh, my, come. Speaker 3: No, I'm gonna do fortunate. She needs this one. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 2: Okay, so that was a total of four. Speaker 2: This is not Susan's night. Speaker 3: This is... Speaker 3: No. Speaker 3: That's okay. Speaker 3: We're not fighting. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 2: No, that's the problem. Speaker 2: If you were old an attack on this man, Speaker 2: I think you'd cut his head off. Speaker 3: I think it's because this is so different from Susan, Speaker 3: that the dice start driving with Nithira tonight.
Speaker 3: Okay. Speaker 2: I have to want to kill this man. Speaker 2: Should I make him more unlikable? Speaker 2: I can do that. Speaker 2: Oh my God, the exact same. Speaker 2: Oh. Speaker 2: That's three twos in a row, by the way. Speaker 2: Oh, my God. That's an achievement unlocked. Speaker 3: So, for a tall. Speaker 3: So here's the thing. Speaker 3: I know. Speaker 3: I know. Speaker 2: Yeah, he's going off the curb. Speaker 2: This guy, I don't. So I don't read that as you're not intimidating. Speaker 2: I read that as, "I read that as, it's like, Speaker 2: threatening Alex Jones.
Do you know what I mean? You're giving it attention. You're feeding it. Speaker 2: And it's like, I knew and I'm on the right case, like that kind of bullshit. Like, it doesn't Speaker 2: matter that you're coming at him with logic and reason. Uh-uh. That's the wrong weapon. Speaker 2: Uh, maybe the knife is what, you know, so like, he's he's gonna like, this woman's Speaker 2: assaulting me. Like, like, very much getting loud. Speaker 2: in this place. And if you let go of his hand, he's going to like move back and kind of point and yell. Speaker 2: You all saw it.
You look. She she assaulted me. I will press charges, little lady. I would like, Speaker 2: and he keeps using that phrase over and over again, even though you are clearly a century, his senior. Speaker 2: And he will leave, but loudly. And then. Speaker 2: and kind of stumble back out onto the street. Speaker 3: Well, that's one way to get rid of him. Speaker 3: And they're all going back to the seat with your infinite breakfast. Speaker 2: He kind of has a smile. Speaker 2: Like, yeah, that's why I never approached him. Speaker 2: I just, the man is clearly insane.
Speaker 3: Yes, and he smells horrible. I could see why he kept your distance. Speaker 2: I could smell him from here. Speaker 2: Just... Speaker 2: So, everybody, give yourselves a long rest. Speaker 3: Hey, guys, I have up to 34 hit points now with this amulet of health. Speaker 3: I only had 21 before. Speaker 2: Yeah, actually, as we're going down for a long rest, uh, Speaker 2: Those diligent listeners out there will remember that I said everybody gets either a piece of jewelry or a plus one weapon or armor. Speaker 2: Do you want to go around the table and tell everybody what you chose?
Speaker 2: Susan, might as well start with you. Speaker 3: Nythier got an amulet of health, which raises her constitution score to 19, which increases her health, which increases her health, of course. Speaker 3: So, and helps with scenarios like Nythier has. Speaker 3: activities last night. Speaker 2: Ah, yes. The amulet of good Speaker 3: sexen. Although it took a bagillion rolls Speaker 3: because I can't roll for shit tonight. Speaker 2: 11 years. Look. I like this thing. Speaker 5: It's like shaking the rust off. Shaking that rust off. Speaker 2: Jameson, what about you?
Speaker 2: Lover and get a gun. Speaker 4: I don't know what it is. It's not in my inventory yet. Speaker 4: I'm going to hand it to you. Speaker 2: So in there, yes, guns exist, but guns exist. Speaker 2: But they are by and large, big showy pieces. Speaker 2: Think pirate firearms where it's like fire and then, oh, shit, it takes a full action to reload and everything like that. Speaker 2: And if you're not strong enough to hold the like the shotgun version of there's something, it'll knock. Speaker 2: you clear on your ass and do damage to you.
Speaker 2: However, if you hit with, you hit with one of those, yours is more of a rifle, it'll do a significant Speaker 2: amount of damage. And if you crit with it, oh, wee, good stuff. There's some drawbacks, but, you know, Speaker 2: obviously there's, it's not a stealth weapon. I don't think I need to tell you that, but you're not a Speaker 2: stealth man. So it's a good. Speaker 4: I can imagine? He's the exchange. Can you get a, just have a silence? Speaker 4: once, sir. Speaker 4: It's just a 55. Speaker 4: We got a barrel like a thing.
Speaker 4: Why? Look at you. Speaker 6: Can you hear you? Speaker 6: You sure? Speaker 6: Steps a mile away. Speaker 6: Yeah. Speaker 1: J. Asper. Speaker 1: So, Ruby's, Speaker 1: she's going to be piecing a bunch of things Speaker 1: together. Basically, at this point, Speaker 1: she's got kind of, Speaker 1: of a hybridized is a ratcheting crossbow basically it's not a crossbow it's not bolts this is going to be an upgrade to her wrist ballista it's going to allow her to be able to to load without having to worry about another action anything like that it's a plus one it's got a couple of extra little fun things to it but it's basically it's just an upgrade but it's going to be really right up her alley and Ian Speaker 5: I didn't get anything very exciting.
I got just some braces of defense. They give a little plus two bonus at AC if you're not wearing any armor or any shield and Kamira is not. Speaker 5: But you know, I bet they look pretty. I bet they're like nice and like gold and like filigree and like delicate looking and that kind of thing. So. Yeah. Speaker 2: I think survival is sexy. So I'm just going to I'm just going to say that. Speaker 5: There we go. I like. Speaker 5: Cool. Put that on a t-shirt. Survival is Speaker 1: going on a picture. Speaker 5: I think survival is sexy. Speaker 5: I'm thirsty for living.
Speaker 2: Let's just... Speaker 2: Sorry. Speaker 2: God. Okay. Speaker 2: Now that it's daylight. Speaker 2: We should talk about the plan. Speaker 2: We'll come back to it. Speaker 2: Kids are... Speaker 4: Stuff full of bread. They had some water. So they're not like hung over anything. Plus, they're young. They're resilient. You know what I mean? So. Yeah. So Lagrin because, well, not because Nithera is not in the room, but also because Nithera wasn't like he's had time to like basically over prepare for this morning. So he's like six a.m., he's knocking on everybody's door.
Like teamating in my room. Let's go. Speaker 4: I got breakfast. Speaker 2: You were out at least 2 a.m. Speaker 2: That's cool. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 2: Oh, fuck you. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 2: I'm personally offended. Speaker 2: All right. Speaker 6: The time must have to go so. Speaker 2: Sleep is where it goes. Speaker 2: Yeah, no. Okay. They'll get it. So they'll be a bit crumbly, obviously. Speaker 2: And I don't know. Speaker 2: Sounds like a... Speaker 2: And Kymra don't strike me as mourning people. Speaker 2: So Ruby will come in, but she's going to have a blanket all over her.
Speaker 1: And she's just going to have her arms like this. Speaker 1: Like, she's going to be completely wrapped up like a burrito. Speaker 4: Ruby and Kamiro also have been done this enough times with him that they know that once this is over, Speaker 4: they can go back to bed. He's going to leave him to at least no. Speaker 1: Oh, okay. Okay. Yeah. That's not so bad then. There was some groaning, but there was no, Speaker 1: like, I'm not doing that. It was just like, yeah, okay. Speaker 4: Yeah. First day in a new town. He's on his bullshit. Yeah.
Speaker 4: Yeah, we got to go over. Speaker 4: He's not going to be able to relax until he does the plan thing. Speaker 4: Yeah. Speaker 2: Farying degrees of, oh, from the kids and they'll join you. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 4: So they get in there and like he's prepared. Speaker 4: He's got, he's got like the coffee table pulled out in the middle of the room with like the map on it and like wait to all four corners. Speaker 4: He's got breakfast like greasy and hash browns and stuff like hangover food, right? Speaker 6: Sure. Speaker 4: Tea and coffee and water and.
Speaker 4: like orange juice, you know. Speaker 6: Okay. Speaker 6: If you're catering it, it is a little better. Speaker 6: Okay. Speaker 4: So the kids are all pissed, but he's like, he knows how to piss people off with style at least, right? Speaker 2: Yeah, no. Speaker 2: Okay. If you're, if you're catering it, they get to at least sit there and then they get to go back to bed. Speaker 2: All right, that's fine. All right. Yeah. Speaker 2: I'm going to fuck yourself. I'm sorry. Speaker 4: No, it's still, it's still sucks. But yeah, it takes this thing out.
Speaker 4: Okay. Speaker 5: Kimer has got as like little document. Speaker 5: thing that he brings for this. Speaker 5: He holds all of their, you know, like, real documents and fake documents, you know, that he Speaker 4: has got his little thing. Speaker 4: Yeah, he checks with him and he got the folder, right? Speaker 4: Okay. Speaker 5: I got the folder. Speaker 5: Should we wait for Nithera? Speaker 2: Is she back yet? Speaker 2: Is she coming back? Speaker 2: Oh, well, she'll be fine. Speaker 2: She didn't. Speaker 2: I'm just going to say, around dawn.
Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 2: Your is going home. Speaker 2: Like, I mean, like, yeah. Speaker 3: There is probably, uh, night. Speaker 3: There's probably in the room with you guys. Speaker 3: And she's going to be like, oh, have me a coffee. Speaker 4: Oh, my God. Speaker 4: Can she do this? Speaker 4: Can she finally sneak up on bath? Speaker 4: His tea just goes up. Speaker 4: His tea just goes up. Speaker 4: It's a lot of new scale. Speaker 4: It's a lot. Speaker 1: Ruby, whatever. Speaker 1: If there's a some sort of cinnamon, like a morning bun, like a cinnamon roll or something like that, she's just biting, she's just biting, she's just biting into it and she's basically holding it over for a chimera to bite.
Speaker 1: And then she bites. Speaker 4: But she's just hungover on food, not even on booze. Speaker 1: Yeah, completely. Speaker 1: She's totally fine. Speaker 4: Yeah. Speaker 4: So, yeah, but I mean, and it's completely self-serving because Lagrin knows that he can't have this conversation with people until, first of all, they're in a better mood. Speaker 4: but also like he's got to deal with the hangovers and he's got to wake people up so coffee and all that kind of stuff. Speaker 4: So it's completely self-s right. Speaker 3: Nythera is in a great mood.
Speaker 4: Yeah. Speaker 3: Yeah. Speaker 3: Yeah. Speaker 4: Yeah. Speaker 4: And he's got and he like just hands her a coffee when she comes in. Speaker 4: Just through the window. Speaker 4: I love. Speaker 2: I love the story of Nithira taking the night off and coming back with more hit points. Speaker 5: Yes. Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Speaker 2: He looks more rejuvenated. Speaker 6: Yeah. Speaker 2: You're like... Speaker 6: You're glowing. Speaker 1: My goodness. Speaker 6: What happened? Speaker 1: She's saying this to camera. Speaker 1: What happened?
Speaker 1: What is it? Speaker 1: Oh, my God. Speaker 1: Oh, my God. Speaker 5: Oh, my God. Speaker 5: Oh, my God. Speaker 5: She got a little fire inside of hers. Speaker 5: What happened? Speaker 5: Oh, my God. Speaker 5: I hope he's okay. Speaker 3: Nice hero suddenly near you. Speaker 3: I'll never forget me, that's for sure. Speaker 1: My God. Speaker 1: You're my hero. Speaker 1: She's just going to like fall in for just a second. Speaker 1: My God. Speaker 4: He goes to get earmuffs all four of you. Speaker 6: Especially you can get his cup.
Speaker 2: It's just a bunch of hand signals. Speaker 2: It's like, like, just like. Speaker 4: All right. Speaker 4: Need everybody's attention. Speaker 4: We're in Esther Hope. Speaker 4: We've got to figure some stuff out. Speaker 4: We're going to be here for a few days. Speaker 4: Next thing we need to do is we've got this list. Speaker 4: And he's got the list that we got from the wizard back in the first in, in Winter Haven, of all the items that we need. Speaker 4: So we need to get everything off of this list. Speaker 4: And the next thing is Adamante.
Speaker 4: I almost said adamantium. Speaker 6: It's a good problem, but. Speaker 6: Yeah, right. Speaker 4: Rare is metal on Earth. Speaker 4: There's a big deposit supposedly in the mountains outside of Asterole. Speaker 4: That's where we're going. Speaker 4: You four are not going. Speaker 4: And he's going to give that a beat for that to sink in to their little hangover brains. Speaker 2: That he would actually be the first one to speak up. Speaker 2: Wait, we can't go mining? Speaker 4: Do you want to go mining? Speaker 4: I have another job for you.
Speaker 2: No? Speaker 2: Oh. Speaker 4: You can do the mining, and we'll stay here if you want to. Speaker 4: No. Speaker 4: So we're going to go get the Edomantite. Speaker 4: But the rest of the things on this list here, I need a lead on these. Speaker 4: So that's your job. Speaker 4: You four are going to follow around us today. Speaker 4: And you're going to learn some contacts and you're going to network. Speaker 4: And I'll need you over the next three days to get me a lead on the rest of these items. Speaker 4: And the main, like he's pointing at the green dragon breath and the orb of chaotic assault.
Speaker 4: Those are kind of the big ones. Speaker 4: I don't have a list in front of me. Speaker 2: Hey, when you're talking rarity, yeah. Speaker 2: Like the easier stuff, like gemstones, you already have the, you know. Speaker 2: Actually, that's it. Speaker 2: The dragon breath is. Speaker 4: After the Adamantite, it's the Orbro-Caotic assault, the greater demon horn and the green dragon breath. Speaker 4: So that's what we need leads on. Speaker 4: And said, so everything you guys were doing in Aubrey, sourcing things, talking to people. Speaker 4: You're going to do it here.
Speaker 4: You're going to meet people. Speaker 4: we know a few folks in this town. Speaker 4: We'll introduce you. Speaker 4: But you can have to do a lot of legwork. Speaker 4: We'll go out. Speaker 4: We'll get it. We'll come back. Speaker 4: We'll meet up. We'll talk about it. Speaker 2: They all kind of look at each other like, oh, yeah. Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah. Speaker 2: They just kind of thought you were ditching them. Speaker 2: And you could already see chat like, what the fuck? Speaker 2: Like you could already see him like cross this arm.
Speaker 2: He doesn't say anything, but like, you know, he's just baking. Speaker 2: But like, yeah, no. Speaker 2: I, um, or would like point to do we have to fight a dragon? Speaker 2: What is that? Speaker 4: It's green dragon's breath. Speaker 4: Apparently you can powder it. Speaker 4: It's like a poison. Speaker 4: And he'll kind of check that with Nythera, but it's rare. Speaker 4: We don't know much about how to get it. Speaker 4: But if you guys can find anything out, then obviously that's a huge Speaker 4: help. Speaker 2: Or is like, you could kind of see here, like, rolling your eyes around, like, thinking.
Speaker 2: If I could send a letter off, I might know someone with it. Speaker 4: No, no letters. Speaker 4: Absolutely. Speaker 4: Who do you know who has this? Speaker 4: Like, send a letter. Speaker 4: That's fine. Speaker 2: It's just running the idea. It's like, I don't know if sending a letter is wrong. Speaker 2: Like, is that cool? Can I send a letter? Speaker 4: Anything about a letter? No, don't ever send a letter. No, send a letter. Speaker 4: If you can get the dragon's breath, send a letter. Speaker 2: My mom might have some. Speaker 2: We'd have to go to Lockford, but like, yeah.
Speaker 6: She has a rare herb. Speaker 2: So, like, she has a bunch of weird stuff like that. Speaker 2: I don't know if she has it. Speaker 2: Exactly. Speaker 2: I'll send a letter off and get a Raven back, but maybe. Speaker 4: All right. Speaker 4: That's a start. Speaker 4: Maybe you should nose. Speaker 4: That would be huge. Speaker 4: Then whatever an orb of chaotic assault is, Speaker 4: Demon Horde might be tricky and he looks at chimera. Speaker 4: You talk to your guy. Speaker 5: We haven't, well, he just came back online. Speaker 5: So we haven't had a chance to discuss anything.
Speaker 5: But next chance I get, I will find out. Speaker 5: I'll send him a letter in a way. Speaker 5: You can feel his ears prick up though. Speaker 2: Like it's like you need a demon. Speaker 2: What? Speaker 5: Like he's just kind of like, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Speaker 2: Like, okay, let's see where this goes, that type of thing. Speaker 1: Ruby Speaker 6: Yeah Speaker 1: Ruby will lock eyes really quickly with Speaker 1: Naferra Speaker 1: About the demon horn Speaker 1: We have a backup if we need it Speaker 1: By the way Speaker 1: I mean two of us found it in Aubrey Speaker 1: It's not going to be easy so we may not want to do that Speaker 1: but let's just see what we can do in the meantime.
Speaker 1: I don't want to go back there. I'll be honest. Speaker 3: Yeah. Speaker 3: We went to go scope it out, but you specifically told us no heist, so we did not take it. Speaker 5: I did say that, didn't I? Yeah. Speaker 5: Mm-hmm. Speaker 5: And it's a good thing none took place. Speaker 5: Yeah. Speaker 5: Yeah, there was not a single heist. Speaker 2: Yeah. Speaker 2: Chet would speak up. Speaker 2: If there's a demon horn in Aubrey? Speaker 1: You don't know the demon horn? Speaker 1: The demon horn, it's in the, it's in the big old church you got.
Speaker 1: It's like one whole wall is like for it. Speaker 1: Like it's all about it. Speaker 1: Have you not been in Aubrey for? Speaker 1: Are you telling me that's real that horn? Speaker 1: Oh, it's stuck on the wall as far as I can tell. Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought it was plaster. Speaker 2: Kids are going to. Speaker 2: I think you just realize it's like we have never gone to church once. Speaker 5: Like, you live in a city and you don't do the tourist things in the city that you live in, you know. Speaker 4: My uncle mounted that on the wall.
What are you talking about? Speaker 4: He's the one who did that fresco. Speaker 5: Stunning work. Absolutely stunning. Speaker 4: Should have washed his hands after her. I didn't know. Speaker 1: Well, I mean, it's a backup. Speaker 1: I don't know if it's plaster or not, but if it's real, it's there. Speaker 5: Also, do we need the full demon horn? Speaker 5: Or do we just need like, I don't know, like a powder of it, like the green dragon stuff? Speaker 5: Like, can we maybe do a small heist and we just like take some shavings off of it? Speaker 5: Or maybe cut off the tip.
Speaker 5: Like a truffle? Speaker 5: I don't know how it works, dungeon master. Speaker 5: Who's he talking to? Speaker 5: This is another patron. Speaker 2: Yeah, to the other one. Speaker 2: He pops in every once with this just the tip thing again. Speaker 4: He also got a little baby boy. Speaker 4: It's weird. Speaker 3: The notes say eight pounds. Speaker 3: So I don't think, maybe eight pounds of shavings. Speaker 3: Oh, okay. Speaker 5: Eight pounds. Speaker 5: A lot of shavings. Speaker 5: Yeah. Speaker 6: A big of lot of shavings. Speaker 6: Big tip.
Speaker 5: Gotcha. Speaker 3: Mm-hmm. Speaker 3: Um, night there will pipe up and say, Speaker 3: Lager, maybe it's time we tell them what we're trying to do. Speaker 3: We have this plan. We keep hinting towards this plan. Speaker 3: And you four have graciously gone along with us on this plan. Speaker 3: But we've never actually said what the plan is. Speaker 4: Well, you guys know the plan. Speaker 2: All the kids are going to raise their hand. Speaker 2: No. Speaker 4: Well, I was talking to them. Speaker 4: Of course, you guys don't know the plan.
Speaker 4: I haven't told you the plan. Speaker 2: Yeah, they're just getting over. Speaker 2: It's like, okay, you're not dropping. Speaker 2: You're not ditching us. Speaker 2: All right. Speaker 2: Guess we should know what the list is for. Speaker 4: Well, okay. Speaker 4: Well, that's the other half is once we come back with the Adamantite Speaker 4: and have the other items. Speaker 4: We need to talk about what happens next. Speaker 4: Because we are moving on from here. Speaker 4: Eventually, Esther Holt is a really good base of operations for as long as we need to be here.
Speaker 4: You guys, pointing to the kids, wanted to make a name for yourselves as thieves. Speaker 4: It's a great place to do that. Speaker 4: If that's what you still want. Speaker 4: That's not what we're doing. Speaker 4: We're continuing on from here. Speaker 4: We have a lot to do. Speaker 2: So, the kids are going to look at each other. Speaker 2: And Vettie's kind of been named the ambassador because you don't yell at Vettie very much. Speaker 6: So strategically, it seems like. Speaker 4: Yet. Speaker 4: Not very much yet. Speaker 2: Yeah.
Speaker 2: So, Speaker 2: um, Speaker 2: we were kind of doing Speaker 2: the thief thing because there wasn't Speaker 2: anything else to do in Aubrey. Speaker 2: And we had Speaker 2: a talk and we don't Speaker 2: really want to do that anymore. Speaker 2: We're... Speaker 2: This is much more exciting. Speaker 2: getting to go to city, to city, and see all this stuff we've only read about or haven't even heard of? Speaker 2: So we're not going to take anything if you're worried about that while you're gone. Speaker 4: I'm not, I'm not worried about that while you're gone.
Speaker 4: The only thing I'm worried about is getting somebody killed. Speaker 4: These three signed up for it. Speaker 4: If they get killed, that's on them. Speaker 4: You four, if you get killed, that's on me. Speaker 4: Bringing you along with my idea. Speaker 4: Happy to train you. Speaker 4: Happy to set you up for success. Speaker 4: I'm not 100% sure. Speaker 4: That what we're doing is, Speaker 4: is bright for you. Speaker 4: Because it's going to get much more dangerous. Speaker 5: Not only that, but we need bases around the places we go.
Speaker 5: I mean, this is a good foothold. Speaker 5: And you're good people to be able to kick that in a bit more. Speaker 5: Having a place that we can come back to and, Speaker 5: touch back to when we need to when this plan gets kicked off, that would be incredibly helpful. Speaker 5: That'd be good for all of us. I mean, all of us in this room. Speaker 2: Right. And the plan is? Speaker 4: Right now, the throne of stone sunder is usurped. Speaker 4: The stone sunders have been exiled, which is fine. Speaker 4: A bunch of bastards anyway. Speaker 4: But with the stone sunders...
Speaker 2: Where his eyes are going to go a little wide when you say that? Speaker 4: Interesting. Speaker 4: So he says, but, Speaker 4: with the Stone Sunder's Speaker 4: lies the ability to reinstate my clan Speaker 4: who was exiled 80 years ago. Speaker 4: So we need to get back to that mountain. Speaker 4: We need to access the one Stone Sunder who's still there, Speaker 4: kept in a coma. Speaker 4: We need to get into her dreams. Speaker 4: We need to convince her. Speaker 4: to wake up, to take the mountain back, and to give it to us.
Speaker 4: So this list is so we can build something that's going to let us Speaker 4: enter the dreams of this woman who's been in a coma for decades. Speaker 4: And we can talk to her there. Speaker 4: And if we can't convince her, well, scratch that, we can convince her because we need to Speaker 4: convince her that she needs to wake up. She needs to drink her. She needs to Speaker 4: to reclaim the throne and she needs to abdicate and name a new king. Speaker 4: And then we'll be reinstated. Speaker 4: Do you want to be king? Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, no.
No. No, I don't want to be king. No. No. I don't want to be king. We'll name somebody. Speaker 4: I have a guy inside. Speaker 4: He's helping me scout right now. Speaker 2: There's going to be a real long kind of awkward beat. Speaker 2: And then Orra's going to raise her hand. Speaker 2: But she's not, she's kind of got our eyes cast down a bit. Speaker 4: Yeah, you with the shoes. Speaker 2: So my mom's Kara Stonecender? Speaker 2: Is that going to be a problem? Speaker 2: Like she's got a little bit of like, there's a little venomous. Speaker 2: Like, motherfucker, is that going to be like an issue?
Speaker 2: Like, if I can get this thing for you, like, you kind of just talk shit. Speaker 2: Oh, I sure did. Speaker 4: Yeah. Speaker 4: He kind of blinks and he looks at her and he goes, Speaker 4: does she want the thrown back? Speaker 4: I just never talked about it. Speaker 4: I don't think so. Speaker 2: And it's probably fine. Speaker 2: Could you just tell me why you called my mom a piece of shit? Speaker 4: Yeah, it's complicated. Speaker 4: I might have been over-sitting. Speaker 4: I might have been oversimplifying a little bit. Speaker 4: It's kind of just blinks and like looks at Karnera, like a little bit of like, I help me.
Speaker 4: Listen, the Stone Sunderers cast my family out a long time ago. Speaker 4: it wasn't your mom specifically. Speaker 4: As far as I know, maybe it was. Speaker 4: In which case, I don't take it back. Speaker 4: But probably wasn't. Speaker 4: So maybe I do take it back. Speaker 4: But every stone's under has been there since. Speaker 4: Could have done the right thing and reinstated us. Speaker 4: And they didn't. Speaker 4: And then they got overthrown by this other family that I'm trying to look up right now. Speaker 5: He looks through his notes.
Speaker 5: Yeah. Speaker 4: Camer got a proper. Speaker 6: Yeah. Speaker 4: Go. Speaker 6: By the gringhorns. Speaker 4: By the just as bifocals. Speaker 4: The grimhorns. Speaker 4: Now the grim horns are of the throne. Speaker 4: And they did not get it the right way, obviously. Speaker 4: But we're going to get it in front of the right way. Speaker 4: We're going to. Speaker 4: We're going to. Speaker 4: negotiate for it. Speaker 4: So part of the plan is getting into the mountain. Speaker 4: Part of the plan is getting access. Speaker 4: Part of the plan is talking to her.
Speaker 4: It should be easy from there. Speaker 2: She's going to raise her hand one more time. Speaker 2: Yeah, with the shoes. Speaker 2: Okay. Speaker 2: Okay. Speaker 2: That makes sense. Speaker 2: sense, fine. So if we pull this off, can you bring back Stone Sunder's that were cast out? Speaker 4: Sorry, out of character. What was the name of the guy we met in Aubrey? Speaker 2: Oh, the Stone Sunder. Sorry, I was like, you met a lot of guys in Aubrey. Speaker 5: Like I... I... Speaker 2: Sorry, I thought there were context clues for that question.
Speaker 4: I'm dumb. Speaker 4: Arbeck? Speaker 5: Arbeck? Ebb. Yeah. Speaker 4: That's it. Yeah. Speaker 4: Transfers of power. Speaker 4: Don't always go easy. Speaker 4: There's probably going to be some resistance to this idea at first. Speaker 4: But I'd be a real piece of shit if I did all this to reinstate my family. Speaker 4: And then didn't reinstate yours. Speaker 4: So it's going to take some time. Speaker 4: But yeah, we'll see. Speaker 4: I'm sure we'll see. Speaker 4: we can let them back. Speaker 5: They'd be vetting. Speaker 5: We'd have to, you know, go over it.
Speaker 5: But if we get to the position where we can evaluate everyone, then we'll be able to do that. Speaker 5: And I think it probably goes without saying, none of this goes in the letter that you're Speaker 5: going to send to your mom. Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm 100%. Speaker 2: That's all she's ever wanted to do is go back. Speaker 5: It's Zive was born, so... Speaker 5: Well, if she finds out about this, then everyone finds out about this and we can't do it, Speaker 5: and then she can never go back. Speaker 4: There's a reason we haven't talked about it.
Speaker 1: And she'll, she'll nod. Speaker 1: Like, okay, okay. Speaker 1: But there's a reason you're all finding out about it right now. Speaker 1: Because you're all important. Speaker 1: You've made it very clear that you've got a lot of value. Speaker 1: We're not going to abandon you. Speaker 1: Maybe we need to split up part ways for a little bit. Speaker 1: Maybe we need to take a little bit. Speaker 1: Maybe we need to take a little bit. Speaker 1: bit of this plan and figure it out separately. Speaker 1: All this is about home. Speaker 1: That's what it is for me.
Speaker 1: That's what it is for him. Speaker 1: She's going to slap, come here on the shoulder or whatever. Speaker 1: She's going to keep pointing at everybody in the room. Speaker 1: This is just about home. Speaker 2: So Or is not a planner. Speaker 2: But like she's like going to get down on the floor with the map. Speaker 2: It's like, okay. When you guys going, when you guys go in for the Adam 18, Speaker 2: because then we can start looking around town and like, she's like, let's go. Let's go. Speaker 2: Let's do it. Speaker 2: Like, we'll take today to get the lay of the land.
Speaker 4: We'll introduce you guys around. Speaker 4: We'll, we need to hire a guide for the mountain. Speaker 4: Tomorrow, you guys are on your own. Speaker 4: You'll have probably two, three days. Speaker 4: We'll see how long it takes. Speaker 4: When we get back, we'll see what you found out. Speaker 4: We'll figure out the next leg of the plan. Speaker 2: Fettie's gonna be like, oh, could we get money for bribes? Speaker 4: So his face goes through a couple of expressions. Speaker 4: The first is, can we get money, which makes him roll his eyes a little bit.
Speaker 4: But then for bribes, he gives her like, I'm so proud of you. Speaker 2: And he goes, you lost me, then had me. Speaker 4: Yeah, right. Speaker 4: Yeah. Speaker 4: He goes, yeah, I'll make sure. Speaker 4: Sorry, I'm, voice will kill me. Speaker 6: It's a lot of Lauren tonight. Speaker 6: Yeah. Speaker 4: I'll make sure you got money for bribes. Speaker 4: That's important. Speaker 5: And food and stuff like that, you know, all the things. Speaker 5: A little bit less for that. Speaker 4: Also, we're not staying here this whole time. Speaker 4: This place is expensive.
Speaker 4: We'll stay three days and we're going somewhere else. Speaker 2: Oh, they erupt into a chorus of... Speaker 2: Oh, come on. Speaker 1: Let the... Speaker 1: It's instantly. Speaker 1: Immediately. Speaker 1: Three days, but we're not even going to be here for three days, Speaker 1: so do we get three days after we get back? Speaker 1: That's six days for everybody. Speaker 1: You said it, not me. Speaker 4: Not having this dog right now. Speaker 4: I'll talk about this later and he sips his coffee. Speaker 1: She stands up and shuffles over and gets more coffee and then comes back over.
Speaker 1: It's back down. Speaker 4: Yeah, this is just. Speaker 1: Yeah, 100%. Speaker 3: But after this and after everybody gets more rest, Speaker 3: Ruby and I will show you around town, get you in touch with our contacts, Speaker 3: see how fresh they are. Speaker 3: But we have a connection here, and we need you to help us bridge that connection. Speaker 5: And maybe keep that connection when we move on. Speaker 2: Guys, I think that's a good time for us to stop for the night. Speaker 2: And I've been asked on the Discord. Speaker 2: There was a show we did very, very short amount of time called Therian Tales, which was just like kind of a story podcast.
Speaker 2: And I think we did like three or four episodes of it and they just never heard anybody Speaker 2: talk about it or anything. Speaker 2: And it was kind of, it was asked, someone asked about it on Discord and we kind of got Speaker 2: talking. Speaker 2: And this could be fun to like split this bigger party up into two and then just have that Speaker 6: stuff go off the show and people can check in on Patreon to see what these kids get up to. Speaker 6: But that's cool. Speaker 5: Yeah. Speaker 2: I like it.
