By morning, Lagrin had everyone up bright and early to finally talk about the plan. This time, we're taken to Esterold itself. Expects shopping, apothecaries, potions, planning, a glimpse at the city's seetier side, and Ruby walking away with a brand new tattoo. Take it away, Jason. Let's do that thing. And we have some things to wrap up in town because next stop for you is trying to find Adamantine in the mountain in the mountains. here near Asterholt, which is its own, that's its own crazy little adventure, I'm sure.

But you're leaving the kids behind and you want to leave them in the best possible circumstances, I guess is the best way to put it. So we've hooked up. We've, I imagine, there's some shopping to do before you go to the mountains. And it sounds like a few of you wanted to get some stuff done. Who's feeling the most confident? Probably the worst question to ask tonight. Yes. But let's start with Jameson. So, Jameson seems like a confident guy. He seems like he knows what's going on, right? It's the face of failing upward here. You're not sure exactly how long this is going to take.

But you do know that it's probably going to be a couple of the weeks in the mountains. And that's if you find a deposit right away and you're able to mine. It's it's tough to mine. It's it's heavy. It's yeah. So Logrin seems like the type of dude who yes is talking about the big plan but has had to shrink the entire thing into little sections. So the next little section is getting adamanty. What does that look like for you? Like how do you how do you envision this going? Well, it could go a couple of different ways. And I guess that's part of what we want to do is because the first thing is we know there are adamantine deposits in the mountains around Estherholm.

And while there used to be a couple of larger mining operations in the Black Rock Mountains, they shut down due to a couple of different things.

One, about 40 or 50 years after the Great Freeze here, monsters starting getting more and more, let's say, adaptable. So you had things like cyclopses and hill giants and stuff, kind of in the mountains messing with them. That and the Durgaar, they moved into the Black Rock Mountains. They lived there. And that was pretty big. And they haven't really been seen since. They don't come to the city. They don't do anything. But with a 12. Let me see if you would. You know what? I'm going to say yes because. So go ahead. I was just going to ask, are they actively hostile?

Or are they just like, you know, only to one group of people. Gotcha. Dwarves. They do not like regular dwarves, but mostly. They fucking hate the Stone Sunderers. Like, hate. Oh. Yeah. It's a long story. We kind of went over it in Overseers on Patreon. But yeah, there's some history there. So we find that out that's where the, or would we know that anyway, I guess. I feel like the arrival of an entire new group of people was probably a known thing, right? I definitely. And this was, you know, decades ago. So it's like, yeah, I haven't talked to any of them. But if I think because of the specificity of it, right, like, log room would know it's like, oh, they, you want to talk about hate the Stone Sunderers.

My, you know, their people were imprisoned by them. So they had it worse. They were basically. They were basically. put in sort of a phantom zone, a negative space. And they spent some years on Atheus after they got free, and they sailed on over. And they've had a big yearning for taking back the Stone Thunder Mountain. Haven't yet, though. There's not a ton of Durgaar. So I don't know. You might be able to work out something with them. Oh, I like that. Is it known? Where in the Black Rock Mountains, they are? If you're going after that, any of the deposits of Adamantine, you'll find them.

So that explains why there's no astralop mining operations for Adamantine. Yeah. Exactly. Okay. Gotcha. Okay. So it sounds like we need, rather than a guide to get us up so we can mine at a Mantine, we need a guide to get us up to talk to the door guard. I think that's probably where we'll go, like whatever we need in terms of just like one or two or three, however many guides, people to carry our gear so we can take selfies on the side of the mountain a whole way up. leave our trash around.

These two are one of only a handful of people that have brokered deals with the Durgaar in the past. They would not be keen to go back. But they could be talked into it. Nice. Sierra will tell. Once we find out that the Durgaard are up in the mountains. And we need to get in contact with them. Night there will tell Logren. I got two guys who have dealt with them. That's what I'm hearing on the street. I don't know how much they want to go back, but they've done it before.

That's a leader thing. I was just going to say, I have two healing potions, one potion of cold resistance. And then I hand over a bag of wet harpy throats to sell. The wet ones. Yeah, the wet ones. My fear, they're so wet.

Isn't it weird? I don't know how they say this way. Just to run them underwater in the sink. Otherwise, they dry up. But we tried that, and they're still wet. It doesn't. It's still wet. It just would stop. Canvass back too. I thought that would absorb the moisture. We tried blotting them with paper towels like eggplants, but it just didn't take. They just kept. They somehow filled generating moisture. Here's the thing. They don't smell at all. There's no stink. There's no stench. Like there was for like the first minute or something, but they're just wet. And there'd be people who swear by topical salves instead of potions because it's like, well, we don't know what goes into those potions. The salve though, my grandma used it. And then there'd even be like, here's all the sexual wellness stuff. you go. This is all, you know, and it being a medieval world, there's, there's everything from like the actual, like, oh, yeah, this is proven all the way over to the goop level, put this egg in your hoo-ha. Like, you know what I mean? Like, it's, it's, it's, you know. This worked once and we thought it was a remedy.

I think at that point, in Ruby's mind, having probably done this dozens and dozens of times over the past many years, she would make sure that those things are taking care of, otherwise longer will get upset.

And then browse a little bit just to see what else might be around. Okay. Let's do it. First things first. You guys, it's time. You guys have grown out of the basic health potion. And while that is, it sucks financially, it is a milestone that every hero must cross. You need to go to greater health potions. If you want your actions to matter. Right. So a basic health potion? 2D4 plus 2 hit points. Rader is 4D4 plus 4 hit points. And just rocked, just, just, just, just, just loggerid is rockin 38. So it's up to you guys. I know, I know, I know, I know. I'm getting to face. wise here.

Maybe what we could do... It's a hundred and fifty gold instead of fifty. I know. I know. Maybe what we could do is give some of our basic to the kids and get some of the greater for ourselves. Sure. Oh yeah, basic would still be great for them. But you guys are level four. And yeah, I... So here's the thing that sucks. Uh, They know everyone crosses this threshold eventually, right? So basic health potions are 50 gold, which is still crazy when you're just starting out. But now you're paying three times the cost for double the strength. Not a great deal. But you guys don't have a healer.

It sounds like haggling might need to happen. Yeah. I mean, if you guys are buying enough stuff, I'm sure we can. Yeah. In trading? These great herpy throats. These wet. So wet. Real wet. So wet. You don't even know how wet. So, okay, let's do this. Now we're just playing this out, I think. So you're checking potions out. And obviously, you're healing potions. There's potions of animal friendship. There's all kinds of ritualistic things. That's more on the herb side. There's pouches of pre-ground-up things for it's like, oh, this chases off werewolves. You sprinkle this around your camp, no werewolves.

Which is a really difficult thing to try and return later if it didn't work, right? Because you're probably dead. But you got to kind of, obviously, they have a good reputation in this place. So there's potions of heroism, potions of growth. Potions of growth are both in the adventuring side of things and the sexual wellness side of things. So localized growth. Yes. Right. It's more specific growth. This is above table. So let us not count for us discussing potions. but I seem to remember Duragart can, like, grow themselves. So some potion of growth might be interesting to have.

Is there anything that I could maybe, would that be like something that we know about Durigart? Or would that be like a role to kind of know if they what kind of...
