The Price of Leadership
What Happens
The party confronts King Hargroll in his throne room, discovering he's been consuming arcane runoff and is in a drug-fueled rage. Despite attempts to subdue him peacefully, a brutal boss fight ensues. The party deals massive damage using fireballs, firearms, and brutal melee attacks, but the king kills Dozer the minotaur and two of his own guards before Brax gores him to death in revenge. The battle ends with the throne room covered in blood and Riel, the king's advisor (also under the influence of the arcane substance), in shock.

Use code D&R for a discount. Speaking of that, you'll fit right in on our Discord. For the truly adventurous, Patreon has extra loot as well. Behind the scenes, bonus games, Patreon groups with Jason and Bree higher tiers and more ways to get lost in there. Patreon.com slash D-A-N-D-R. All right, last time on Frostborn. We finally made our way to the Durgar stronghold in the Black Rock Mountains, all in search of a way to gain a heck of a lot of arcane-infused adamantine for a special artifact we've been piecing together. Once inside, the minimalistic and very practical Durgar are all a little hyper-focused on their work, but nothing too weird.
What did get weird was when chimera huffed some of the arcane gases and basically super-soldiered himself, warlock speaking. Once we eventually made our way into King Hargroll's throne room, chimera was able to spot not only that the king we were talking to was an illusion, but also there was something massively arcane hiding behind a secret wall. Ruby flipped a switch to reveal the actual king, drunk on and infused through his body with some sort of arcane overflow. He didn't want to be interrupted. And yeah, minor boss fight incoming. So this time on Frostborn, we find out more about the king behind the curtain, or wall, and exactly how much he didn't want to be interrupted.
Turns out not a lot. Listen, going in on this fight, it's 11 to 1. Spoiler, a couple of those numbers change by the end. Take it away, Jason. Let's do that thing where we go around the table and in a judge, Sao, Zha, Jason, I'm the Dungeon Master, going around the table. Starting with Jameson. Hi, I am Jameson. I play Logger and Craig Bourne. He's a Dwarven Marshall. And Ian. Hello, I'm Ian. He, him, Eni, and I play Chimira, the Tifling Warlock slash Dark Empath. And Jasper. Hey, everybody, I'm Jasper. Heim, I play Ruby Pedagru, the Half Fork Gearslinger Adept.
And last and certainly not least, Susan. Hi, I'm Susan Spanator. My pronouns are she her, and I'll be playing Nicierrelius, the Elven Rogue. So before we get to potentially our last session, I want to... Jason. You all hit level five, and we need to deal with that, because things like extra attack would just be great to have right about now. So who's feeling the most froggy? I could put Jasper at the end. Like if you want, like, okay. Okay. I think I'm ready to be easy. Yeah, I think so. Let's go. Okay. What do I do? What is next? Put me in. Okay. So let's start with are you taking another level of a debt?
I am taking another level of adept. All right. That's easy. I need you to give me a D8, please. I will do that right now. It is. Come on. No whammies. Okay. Four. Okay. I'll take it. Not bad. You get a fifth level focus feature. My fifth level focus feature is a stunning strike. I can take a wild guess at what that does. I will tell you, basically it's a con save or they're stunned. Yep, that's what I thought it did. You have 45 hit points. total. Nice. Do you, I believe you get a new maneuver? I do get a new maneuver. My new maneuver will be, if I can find my notes.
I'm going to go for something called Twist the Blade. Oh. Twist the blade basically means in a nutshell, I can crit on an 18, 19 or 20. Are you kidding me? Holy God. I pay for it. I was exertion, but yeah, totally. But there's a reaction. If I hit and it's like an 18 or 19 or 20, I can spend on making that a crit. Wow. Okay. Okay. Damn. I felt like that might be important. And also narratively, another upgrade to her stuff and punching hard and she's got these things. She calls them focal force springs. They're basically just exertion points, but it's just like, whatever she's adding to her stuff, right?
Um, kind of ramping it up. Susan, you want to go next? Yeah, mine should be easy, too. I will be taking another level of rogue. Can I figure? Who? Could I get a D8 from you, please? Yes, you may. Two. Mm-hmm. It's okay. It's okay. I get a plus 4 That's your con Yeah because I have that con am I have the amulet of health That gets my con up to 19 Oh shit yeah okay okay Because I don't want to be breakable Also the rogue shouldn't get hit Yeah Yeah yeah Never happens You get a fifth level skill trick Yes I am It's nothing fancy, but I was thinking of going for Observer.
Which I gain an expertise on perception checks, and I increase my passive perception score by three. Okay. You have a total of 40 hit points. And I believe you get a new maneuver. No. No? Geez. I thought everyone. I had three before. So I think I got mine early on. Okay. Got it. Okay. I can. Yeah. I can come back. No, I'm good. It's going to be great. Okay. Another warlock level? Yes, please. Okay. Give me a D8, please. You get it. Another two. Another two. Damn. I don't believe you have a four in con. Nope, it's two. That's not bad, though. Okay, you get a fifth-level Eldridge Invocation.
Yeah. And I get extra blast, too, which is really cool. So I'm going to do that extra, that extra, that archaing, or that Eldridge Blast two, two times. Yeah, I get. an Eldridge Invocation. That's my choice. And I am going to take agonizing blast. So just a little bit of extra damage to the Eldridge Ray. Because that's kind of the theme of this level up is from the story-wise, you know, drugs, explosion, output, damage. you know, destruction, that kind of force kind of feel. Got it. And I also get another spell. I get some more spell points and I get access to third level spells now, which is awesome.
And because of that, because of this, a whole drug thing, I'm going to take fireball. Oh my. Fireball. It's time. Yeah. Well, okay, shit. That comes a day in every spell catcher's life. We just rewrite this encounter. Yeah, to zero to these hit points. Hold on a second. I thought about it long and hard, too, because there, you know, third level spells are good. Like, that's when the good shit starts coming through, you know? And there were a couple. I was like, man, these are all good. And I will take them eventually. But it felt the it felt like that was the progress of things.
It's like this like crazy drug that like makes all this like arcane stuff happen and make you want to explode. Felt like Fireball was appropriate. Damn. Okay. Yeah. No. That makes sense. Yeah. Okay. Shit. Jameson. You're up. Yeah. Not a lot of decisions, but I do get a lot of stuff. So proficiency bonus goes up to three. Commanding Presence range, it doubles from 10 feet to 20. That's nice. Yes, that's good. I get combat directives, which is the thing we talked about last time, where I can now, when I tell somebody to attack, I can also have them use one of my maneuvers for free.
They don't even have to use exertion points. Damn. I also get an additional maneuver that doesn't count against my limit of maneuvers, which is weird to me. Just increase the limit of maneuvers by one. But okay. I also get a follower. Yeah. And I get an additional maneuver. So I actually have to pick two maneuvers. That's kind of the only thing I have to pick here. While you're doing that, could you give me a D10, please? Oh, I would love to. Oh! That's me. Plus two. Plus three. No, plus two, because one for con and one for being a dwarf. Yes. Yeah. I put you up to 48.
You now officially have the most hit points in the group. I feel like that should be. Right? Yeah, well, yeah, probably. I always looked at it. It's like you have a soft nuggety center. You just got to get through the 25. Emotionally, yes. Emotionally, he is very, he's very much a cinnamon bun. So I have a question actually. I have a fourth combat maneuver that I don't remember picking on my knees. Okay. This thing called Take the Hit. I don't think I should have this. because this is from a school that I'm not proficient with. I don't remember picking this. Maybe I did and just did it wrong, but I've never used it.
So you might if I swap that out for one. Sure. I mean, you cheated. So yeah. Good. I would like to uncheat if I could, please. Oh, yeah. I think you can do that anyway with level up. You can, whenever you are able to get another come up, you can swap them out. Oh, good. Okay. If you want, good. I'm going to. Legitimately. Do it legitimately then. Well, he still. from a school he didn't know. But like that part was him, you know, cheating. That was cheating. Yeah. But we're making it right. We're making it. I think it's okay because I literally never used it. I forgot I had it.
That's fine, yeah. We're going to cheat. Like, this is totally different. Yeah. I will find a way to cheat in this fight. Don't worry. It might be a good idea. So I don't get to pick the one I really want because that's a third degree maneuver. But we're going to take two. We're going to take two. Two from the sanguine knot tree. One is called double tackle. I actually need to ask about this before I take it, because it says you have to move at least 20 feet before you can tackle somebody. And I can't. If I use my full move, can I tackle somebody, please? Well, I feel like that's an unfair limitation.
I feel like I'm able to this. It's very able to. Here's the thing. I think the implication is you're building momentum, which you couldn't do if you move 30 feet. It's more just an eventuality, not. It's more just the slow roll. It's a bowling ball. You know, the slow bowling ball that still gets the strike. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Somebody with a Zamboni, you know, just they don't, you know. I'm going to say yes. I'm going to say you can, if you move your full 15 feet. I can use the maneuver. Otherwise, yeah, we'd have to get to dash. I literally can't use that otherwise.
Yeah. Which is very funny. Well, it's double tackle. So you and an ally tackle a foe together. Your combined strength forcing moves the ground. Choose an ally. You can see your ally can use their reaction to move up to 20 feet to be adjacent to a creature. You'd designate. So an ally would also move 20 feet. As long as you move at least 20 feet. And both you and your ally are adjacent to the creature. It makes a strength saving throw or is not prone. Here's the cool part. Alternatively, you and your ally may both choose to go prone to force the creature to fail at save.
Oh, like you're attack. You're chop blocking them. We can just go over it. Yeah. Oh. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, okay. All right. And you cannot use this maneuver against creatures more than one size. as size category larger than you or your ally. So. Okay. So that's one. We wanted to double tackle. And then the other one we're going to do is called a dual grapple. You join in a grapple instigated by an ally, making athletics check against the maneuver DC of a creature. An ally has grappled if you succeed, the creature is restrained until the grapple ends. And neither you or your ally, either you or your ally are also restrained until the grapple ends.
But not both of us. This just makes me think you're making us into a football team. Yeah. These two kind of feel like they go together. So let's take them together. Like double tackle, double grapple. Like, that's cool. I like that. Double dragon. Double dragon. Double dragon. Double barrel. My new gun. Yes. Oh, yeah. We got to go into that. Well. Everyone will give you. of the long rest to give yourselves all your exertion points that you need and all the health that you would have. Just for listeners, because I forgot to say it, because these are just things that are built into level.
And I heard when Jameson was saying those things, I probably should have said it to. My proficiency bonus goes up to three. I get an extra sneak attack dice. And I do gain a feature called aim, which is if I don't move and use my cunning action, I could get advantage on attacks if I do those things. Yeah. And Ruby gets an extra attack and proficiency goes up and, you know, general bad assery. Yeah, I forgot the built-in features. And I'm like, oh, yeah, listeners probably want to know this. All right. Last time we left off, we have what essentially breaks down to a mad king right now. you know, dipping his hands into this, this arcane runoff, this, this toxic magic sludge, basically.
And there are two streams of it running down the side of this room that he's in. And I do not see a way that this doesn't result in a fight. But if any of you can think, of something to say or do. Looking at this, this man, he's not reasonable. He's not in his right mind. He's hopped up on PCP. He's on bath salts. There's no talking to him. Yeah. Right. He's Florida man right now. That's his alter ego. And it's Florida, a dwarf. I know how to handle this. Let's leave. It's a bad time. I mean, he just, honestly, he just, honestly, He just said he didn't want to be interrupted.
If you leave. That's correct. Yeah. That's true. We might be given what I want. I can try something. Let's try it. I would like to try and cast a suggestion on him. Hmm. Let me check something. Hold on. It's hard to try. The suggestion is calm the fuck down. Bro. You're coming in. And 12. I need you at like a five right now. You do want to be interrupted. Yes. I want to say. Thank you for being here. Get your hand out of the honey jar. I know. You know. No. I. Go ahead. So, okay. Okay. You are also high. Yeah. Which heightens some things. I'll allow it. Go for it. Okay. Okay. All right.
It's funny. I don't know why, but... For some reason, I can't cast it at third level. Like, all of the other levels I can cast it at, but not third level. which is fine because it just makes the duration longer. And we don't need it to be like 24 hours. Well, maybe we do. But who knows? Let's see. I'll just cast it at second level now. So we're going to do this. I love this scene all of a sudden, right? So all of this has happened in seconds where Ruby's like, wait, there's something back there, right? It flips the switch. The wall goes, I don't want to be interrupted.
And then you're like, Calm his ass down. Like, that's the first thing you think to do. Well, I think, like, I think it's the nature of the drug. Like, because like a junkie recognizes a junkie. So it's like, oh, okay, I know what's going on. It's like, hang on. And Kimira will say, stop. Hear us out. We just want to talk. And cast a suggestion is, way. Let me just make sure I'm doing this right. Yeah. It's just a it's a wisdom saving throw. Okay. Oh boy. Okay. Does it get me advantage or anything like that? Because dwarf like some sort so No. No. No. It's different dwarf.
They're more magically inclined. Yeah. So. So does this count as just so. So. No. No. It's different dwarf. They're more magically inclined. Yeah. Yeah. So Charming him? Let's see. Let's see because that is a good question. Creatures that cannot be charmed or immune to this spell. That's the first line. He has immunity to charmed. Charmed and poisoned. Okay. Well. Yep. Then those words fall on deaf ears. Yeah. Bras. Yeah. Like just calm. Yeah. He's not hearing it. All right then. Guys! Oh, I can't wait. Okay, add yourselves to the combat tracker, please. Ugh. Wait, hang on. I don't see any quick bolts on this map.
Oh, yeah. Let me add those two. I was going to add them in round two. Oh, okay. I thought that that was more thematically... That makes sense for them. Camer is going to turn to Lagrin and just kind of like hold up his hands and shake his head. Like I don't know. Yeah. Longer turns around. It's like that usually works actually. Yeah. He's far gone. Logren does though after that. He does kind of like put his own hands out and be like, we need him alive if it's possible. That'll be tricky. He does two eyes to Night Thera. I'm a bus. Yeah, we all look at Night Thera.
Yeah, exactly. She kicks the ground. I mean, I'll try my best, but we'll see how he likes that idea. We at least need to... We at least need to be able to bring him back at the end. Body parts intact. Got it. That's one way to interpret that. It's spooky. You didn't even say anything about body parts. I wasn't even thinking that. I wasn't even thinking that. The way you three process instructions is It's on her game boy, like, not even paying attention. She's fucking around with a lever she found to open the door. She's like, how's this is cool. This is actually...
She's got disassembled. It's stone. It's all stone. I can say. Focus. So is he. I said you were lit up like a lantern. He's lit up like a lantern. God's damn volcano. It's not a contest. And one of us is about to blow. Parker goes, oh yeah. You had a gun? You had a gun? Like, it's like, quiet. I'm on it in town. Where did you hide that? Yeah. It's not in your business. It was in the armor. It was really uncomfortable. I don't know. I love that he's letting us have this conversation. Yeah. This is like in old 70s comic books when there would be one punch thrown and they'd have four paragraphs of dialogue.
Yes. Some silver age shit. Oh, God. All right. We got them cowboys. And then the cow boys. It should be noted. I have never done a boss fight this way before. It is 11 to 1. And I feel like it's just about even. So. So everyone is 11. So it's good that we've all declared that we're going to exercise restraint is what you're saying. Yes. Yes. Yes. So you are trying to take them alive, right? That's the yeah. Or at least, knock them out. I mean, at least the four of us. We have under 40 HP, Jason. Just remember that. Right. I know. I know. Honestly, I was hoping you guys would roll 20 or 30 extra hit points tonight.
I don't know why. I'll just give us 20 or 30 extra levels. It's probably counting on you guys being a little tougher. for him. Well, we'll see. Camar is also going to turn to everyone and just say, I'm feeling real lit. So if you're, if you got to get in there, get in and get out, because it's going to get explosive. All right. Oh, God. Austin, Nythera, Brax, Logren. Boxer, and then we got some soldiers and stuff. So we're gonna... Okay. So to paint the picture, everybody who was in the room at the time of him whirling around is going to be trying to restrain.
You know what I mean? They might even be more ginger with him than you are, unless he shows no restraint. And I feel like they... They know enough to know it's like, oh yeah, he's... Wow, this is bad. So, God, Austin's going to try and shoot him, I think. Like, I think that would just be the move, right? I apologize. I'm going to quick, I'm going to quick draw this. This is going to be a reaction because of rolling initiative. She's going to, Austin can do that, but she's going to at the exact same time, she's going to, she's going to attack with a range weapon.
Okay. Do it. Okay. This is where we poke and prod to see what we're dealing with. Yeah, that's what I was thinking is who knows what's going to happen here. So immediately, as soon as this becomes a thing and the suggestion doesn't work, Ruby and Loggerin saying, let's, you know, not, they're going to keep him alive, she's just going to... Bam bam! Not to kill, but to... Holy! How's that? That's a crit, ladies and gentlemen. Starting the night. All right. Crit with 20 piercing damage. 20 piercing damage. You can see by the bar. Oh, my God. Oh, geez. I'm taking a screen grab of that.
Hey, where does this bar? Oh, no, I don't see a bar. You don't see a bar? You don't see a bar? You know what? It's better that you don't eat. Yeah. It's, and actually, I have a very large monitor. It's really. Oh, no, it's like switching off. There should be guys coming over to your house to put up a bar somewhere. Okay, gotcha. Did they come on a giant motorcycle? Oh, God. Okay. So Austin, yeah. Do you want to roll on the crit table to see? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, see if we're rolling at the Crits table first, I suppose. Yeah. D6, right? D6. D6. Five. Five. We're rolling on the crit table, baby.
Give me a D20. I will do it. Wonderful way to start this off. I love it. What if you just decapitate him somehow? Right? Right. To be clear. I'm sorry. No, shit. This just looks like you broke it and fucking just murdered it. I didn't. I didn't. The suggestion didn't work. It's not my fault. Justin, then I took his head off. Yeah. To be clear, I just, for canon purposes, Ruby is everything she does is going to be absolutely not for death damage. This is to take him down and to knock him out for the whole fight. Sure. For sure. Sure. I'm just saying that's like an immediate loyalty logger and stuff.
All right, 14. Gut check. Deal the maximum amount. of possible damage to him right now. So what did you roll here? What did we roll? We rolled a four on a D12. So we got to add another 12 damage because it's it's no, sorry. 16 damage because it's eight to give you a D12 and then you double it because it's a crit. So that's a lot. Holy shit. So that's a lot. Holy shit. Okay. All right. Ruby's feeling probably pretty confident right now, but also pretty wary at the same time of that didn't seem to do a whole lot. Yeah. What does this, like, does he react to it at all?
Does he even respond to getting shot? Well, he did. So, okay, you're so okay. So okay. He hasn't even drawn his, his weapon yet, right? He's just, like, his fists are dripping in this shit. And he is going to just take this right to the sternum, like center mast. And he's just going to kind of exhale and there's going to, you're going to see this, this, this, this, kind of a magic misty breath like on his, like it's, like it's, like it's, you know that, again, like, looking at a hot street that, that oasis is kind of wavy feeling. His breath is so hot that that's, that's the, like, like he's yeah it's he's not reacting in a way that you would like like ow ow out right yeah does he look mad about it or is he's he cool he doesn't look he's not pleased be cool be cool be cool be cool genotically I didn't want to be interrupted shoot like you know so yeah this is just clearly bad this is clearly not what we want to do so this isn't this is a No.
We got to restrain this guy. For his own good. And I mean, seriously, like this isn't right. Yeah. It's medicine. You're shooting at him. Exactly. Well, Austin is going to crit and miss. So. Well, damn. Okay. D6 if we're rolling on the crit table, we are not rolling on the crit table, thankfully, so it doesn't affect everyone. Can we say that he has peed his pants a little bit. I would imagine it's just it's a small it's like a pistol so it's like and ricochets right off the armor like nothing and it's just kind of kind of look at it's like oh shit that usually works like uh that's Ruby does so this happens almost simultaneously and whenever he shoots she kind of gives a of a raised eyebrow like huh that's cute Yeah, not happy about that.
But, Nythira, you're up. Okay. So, Nythira's going to glance over to Kamera who's standing next to her. And he's already probably like sizzling with on-tamed energy. She's like, I don't want to be where the guy's going to be wherever he shoots his magic off. Because Nifer, he usually gets right up front and center. But she's going to see Nithira. or chimera with wide-eyed pupils, like, I'm going to let him get some of that off before I get close. So Nithira is actually going to take out her short bow, which she usually doesn't do 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30.
She's going to take out a short bow. Use cunning action to dip it and oil of tag it, which is something she has from the Poisoner's Almanach, which is slick gray odorless oil creature DC 13 Constitution saving throw or is subjected to this poison and becomes unconscious for 24 hours. So I'm using my cutting action to dip it in that oil of tag it. And now I'm going to use my short bow. Okay. Let's see. Oh, oh, almost a crit. This 24 hit. This 24 hit. It does hit. It does. Okay. Man, you really got to look at that bar to see if it moved. He is immune to being charmed and poisoned and has resistance to poison damage.
So if you could roll that poison damage, though. No damage. I used oil of tag it. Oh, that's I thought that was. I thought there was a poison for some reason. It is a poison, but it doesn't damage. It's non-daging. It just makes him go sleepy sleeps. Yes. It's a hyper-roofy. Like it's... Yes. Okay. There's a lot of drugs in this room. Yeah. Oh, she... Go ahead. Sorry. I was just going to say, and to establish it, I have six uses of oil tag it left. Okay. Oh, yeah. But that is my true. I don't know if you... His con save is a plus eight. Yeah. But the boss says he wants. wants them alive.
So I can't use the wyvern poison. I mean you could like, you could little wyvern poison. He's got like he's going to resist some of it. Maybe at the beginning I can. Yeah. It doesn't get any more beginning than round one. This is what I'm saying. Like I just anyway. Brex. If you guys remember, Brex has a goddamn hand cannon. So let's fire that. Ooh. That damage could have been better, but 17 equals a 23, which will hit 11 bludgeoning damage. So Jasper noticed that our king is not in the combat tracker. That's because he's going last. And that's where the fight kicks off.
So I've given you guys. Every opportunity to do this. He's doing a give me your best shot first. Yeah, no, he's insane. Like all the confidence of a Florida, man. Just like, yeah, yeah, yeah, let's go. Like, yeah. I'm gonna beat up a hurricane, like that kind of like, you know. Firing guns at the weather, yeah. Hey, it works. If it gets there, if he gets there, he's going to yell. He's actually going to yell whenever he gets to half hit points. As a result of being bloody, like, it's going to be like in the audience. Start stabbing himself to get there quicker.
Let's go. I cut this cool trick, but I got to be hurt. All right. So, man, okay. So a cannon goes off over logger's left shoulder. He's like, Jesus. All right. And he's got to move one, two, three squares, 15 feet. He runs. Why are you laughing? That was a full move. What's funny? I don't understand. I love seeing this in real, the real movie in the movie. Right? Yeah. He's not win. It is Constitution's 12. He's a fake guy. 12. He's average. You guys are mean. So as a result of being emotionally bloodied. Oh. No. So as a free action, Logrin is going to plant his tower shield.
Raising his AC2.25. Then he's going to. to knock his shotgun in the groove on top his tower shield. So for those out there who don't remember how you got the shotgun, do you want to, you just went and bought one, basically, you went to go. Yeah, he bought it. Yeah, we were in town and we were shopping and we were selling all that merch and stuff that we actually acquired. And he saw a big gun on the shelf and he said, ooh. So the thing is, is in theory. Firearms are are either accurate or damaging. Those are kind of the, and there's always a trade-off, right?
Because otherwise, everyone would just have a gun. One, they're expensive as shit, but two, that shotgun's going to do and it's just a crazy amount of damage, but could knock you flat on your ass. So we'll see. At least you're bracing it against something, so you know, you know. So what he's going to do? Because Kimira is within his commanding presence. He's posted up behind the shield with Kimera 10 feet behind him. He's going to look over his shoulder. He's going to say, on my mark. And commanding presence is going to have Kimira fire his weapon at the same time that Lagerin fires his because I can do two attacks now.
So I can both take my own attack and have somebody else take their attack. So good. So, you can go first if you'd like. It does, that's a great question. Let me double check. Yeah, that's very. I can choose to forego one attack to allow a friendly creature within range to use its reaction and attack instead. It does not say it has to be a weapon attack. It could be a magical attack. Yeah, so it's just got to be your basic blast then. Or it could be the boomerang or an Eldridge blast or something like that. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. Well, wait. Actually, yeah, no.
If it's just an attack, then I guess you could... You have the attack action. Yeah. Okay. So whatever can happen within an attack action. Yeah. So no saves. I can go first if you want to think about it. Okay. Yeah. Let me go through my stuff here. Okay. All right. So we're going to make sure that this guy is targeted. I think I have him targeted. and we're going to fire this gun. So he has it braced, which you said would give him advantage on the athletics check. He needs to not get knocked on his ass from firing this thing. But he's going to fire both barrels, which would give him disadvantage.
But now he just evens out at a regular athletics check, right? Yes. So here's what I want you to do. Yeah. Roll the attack with advantage and we're just going to take both roles. Okay. Jesus Christ. Oh, what you are? Oh, okay. All right. Well, the first, I rolled a seven and a five. You rolled every number and every nine. My better attack was a nine. My worst attack was a nine. My worst attack was a seven. Okay. So. The gun goes off. Almost as big a blast as the cannon that went off behind him. He goes, holy shit. Never fired it in practice once. So for those out there, well, one, your strength saving throw was immaculate.
It was a 24. That's fine. 41 damage hits nothing. It's just peppers everything around. So it, like, it's like the front lobby in the matrix right now. Just bullets. Right. So there's one thing I forgot to mention. If, okay, if you're within 10 feet of someone you're shooting at, you automatically get advantage on each shot. Oh, that's good to know. Because you almost can't miss. And if you're you're beyond 25 feet away from them. Then you get disavit. It's a shotgun. It's a shotgun. Yeah. Okay. How far away was I? 20. I was like 25 feet. Wasn't there? You're you're 15 feet away.
That's 20 feet. Yeah. Okay. Cool. So Loggering drops the gun because he's not going to take the time to To reload it. Reload it is a full action. Yeah. He's like, all right, next time. And that's, uh, and we're going to mark foe for chimera's attack. So you get a D, um, an expertise die for your attack. Everybody does. Gotcha. Hey, everybody. Jasper here. Sorry for interrupting. All right, well, it's time to unleash then. Kamera's been itching to do this since he huffed this stuff.
And so at the same time that Lagrin blows this shotgun, Kamera is going to hold out his hands and fire is just going to consume them. And he's going to come off the ground just a little bit. like, just like off his toes. And there is going to be a gout of flame that is going to explode off of him. It's going to be one of those things where like when you recall this moment, it's like, I think that flame looked like a horned figure with wings outstretched. It's hard to say, but it really felt like it. Well, it was happening, but that's what I felt like.
That's how I'm going to tell in the tavern. Yeah, and there's just going to be like heat and the temperature will rise on Logren's back. And his eyes are going to glow this like arcane high light. And he's just going to like explode out a fireball on our friend here. And this is a dexterity saving throw. half damage on a save. But I don't know how to do the damage because it's like three times damage. So we're just gonna... We'll just do it. Roll. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Ohoo. Oh, who. Oh, who. Oh, who. Oh, who. 66 fire damage. Now, ladies and gentlemen, I did not say six.
D6. The number 66. Three from Nice. Uh. Pretty nice. Close to nice. Ooh. Ooh. What happened? Uh, that's a big chunk of his health. Oh, damn. Yeah. With all your combined stuff so far, you've dropped him one third. Oh, I see the bar now. Oh, did he save? Where's? Not that I don't want to get a saving for him. Yeah, his name for half is great. You're right. I'm so sorry. I should have rolled. Uh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It was decks, so I'm like, probably not, but like, like, yeah, I got close. Just for a story since they're, they're, they're, just five feet away from him.
If that's going to happen because of all of this drug-induced sort of like heightened state, Ruby would probably, as soon as that fireball just left, push out of him, she would have just instinctively rushed up to him and put her arms around him. Just kind of like, like his arms are up. She's just underneath real quick, just like, I got you. I got you. I got you. I got you. Not affecting any sort of battle stuff. just for story. Oh, yeah, yeah. And it's weird because like, you don't get a response from Kimira right away. Like he is fully in this like arcane attack.
Totally dissociated, yeah. Yeah. I think for Logrin, it's one of those things too. Like he turns around and this is a thing we've done before, right? He posts up, he turns around and says attack on my mark. And then he sees his own shadow from the size of the flame that comes around. up from behind. He just turns around again and like, Jesus, goodness. Yeah, there's cannon fire and fireballs and it's like this is a, yeah, it's Yeah. Night here from across the room. Yeah. Nightier from across the room goes, I thought we're going to try to take them alive. He seems okay.
Yeah, he is standing in the fire and it is it. You can tell that it's charring his skin. Like, and as he burns, there's a layer underneath of his skin that starts glowing. Like, just under the surface is this radioactive core. And he is just, like, his skin's cracking. And, and like, it is, like, yeah, I, like, yeah, no, he's very gone. Well, Boxers up. Dozers up. Why is why are our memes changed? Were you drunk and or high when you put them on the Cowboys was named Vanessa? Yeah. I think it did them randomly somehow. Yeah, I think it's random. I don't have anything to do that, but it should make me.
Why would it take my last name? That's I'm saying, like it's weird. It's fine. It's fine. It's fine. It's fine. Vanessa. I'm not going to tell you which cowboys for this, but... Well, 510, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40. I... damn. I'm... I guess Joe's just gonna try and gore him. Just run and gore. Just blam. And a crick! Ladies and Joc! Whoa! What? Dozer's going to lower his head and just run in. Both of these horns are going to go right into his chest. And this is the first time he's going to react where, like, I mean, full on like, like, oh, like it's like a blast to his chest and he's going to recoil and kind of grab the horns bracing on them, trying to like wrestle him off.
But you're going to see like a light radiating mist coming from the holes in his chest while he's wrestling that off. God, I guess that's it. Like, there's, so Fireball doesn't continue burning. It just, it just, it just a big old, yeah, yeah, I always think that has a, like, it just sets things on fire, but I mean, it can, but just like, you know, there's no, like, there's no, like, effect. It's just like a cool story. Traditionally on the show, it's used in very wooden. So I think I'm a way. Yeah. Yeah, I guess this is the best place to use it. That's all just going to dash and move forward and try.
Does our friend? Did he roll on the crit table? Oh my God, he didn't. You're right. You can't roll on the crit table. Let's see if he does roll on the crit table. Uh-oh! Whoa! Five rolls on the crit table. Eight. Japing! Woon! In addition to standard critical hit damage, the target takes an ongoing five. plus half the level of... So half the CR... Until healed. Okay. So every time he gets a turn. So if I never give him a turn. That'll show you guys. Mm. Trottinger's blood. Kimmer, you are up. Oh shit, it's me. Uh... Firepull! It might be, but fucking dozers in there. You can aim it back.
I could. First things first, I'd like to take a vial out and toss it to Ria. Is it Ria here? Ria. Oh, Rial. Rial. Thank you. Can I do that as a free action? You can do it as a bonus action? Okay. Then that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to turn to Real, and I'm going to see immediately like the magic aura on her. I'm going to pull out one of the vials, and I'm going to say, do you know what this is? No. Why would I know what that is? What is it? I'm going to need you to breathe it in, and I'm going to toss it over to her. There's moral implications to this, but we'll get into it later.
Oh, no. Did I make another cultural faux pa? I got to call an Uber, guys. I'm out. I'm going to. He was really high at the time. He didn't know what he was saying. Yeah. We'll do a YouTube apology. It's fine. So, I just go to look at you. Yeah. Like, uh, okay. And she's going to pop it and hop this in. And well, I got to, we're going to do. a con saving throw. Jesus. Okay. Oh, I did forget about that part. You know, that thing your king is doing right now? You want some of this? Yeah. Well, she's a... She's a dirty-go-so. That bonus. She's... Yeah. I mean, she can... You can fail a saving through if you want, right?
Please don't. Jesus. 17 Constitution save. So she is going to get like amped up. And there's probably a bit of something in the back of her mind. It's like, what the fuck did you just give me? But like right now, it's just power. Like it just feels great. Mm-hmm. Kimir is going to smile at her. And he's going to turn around. You, okay. So if I remember correctly, last time there was like a war table here. I don't see it on the map. But could I like get over to that and use it for some kind of cover? Like a little bit of cover? Is it big enough for that? So the way I so you see the bridge leading into the room.
I pictured you guys crossing it and like that like beyond that is where the door opened and that fake throne room was like that. That's how I pictured it. But yeah. Okay. So the war table is like behind us. Is that what you're saying? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, I got you. Okay. So it's it's not yeah. Okay. I see. I see. I see. See. Actually, do I have cover behind? Uh, Lagrin? Well, I guess he would count for... I think anything with a 20 AC and over counts as an obstruction, basically. Like, like... As a structure. Right? Yeah, because he's short. I'll give you half cover. Like...
Okay. Technically, it does give a plus two to ability checks made to hide. Oh. For whatever that's worth. Yeah, that's what it says. Neat. Not for you, right? Yeah, for me. I mean, I'm not going to do it because my dex is atrocious, but... I'm guessing, like, what are you turtling up? Like, is that is that it? You just kind of... You can get your entire body behind the tower shield is the idea, right? Oh, I thought you make your armor. Okay, sorry. No, no, no. The shield. Okay. Yeah. The shield. Got it. Oh, yeah, then. Let's... Let's do it. Yeah. Okay. So I got a little cover behind him.
Okay. Okay. That's cool. That's cool. That's cool. That's cool. That's Good to know. That I'm just going to stay right there and I'm going to shoot off another fireball. Let me, I need to make sure. I really don't want to hit Dozer here. So you remember the drawbacks to this, right? Yes, I do. Okay. Which I think fireball anyway, like fireball targets creatures anyway, like by default. Is there a really? Yes. Yeah, there sure is. Yeah, there's a measurement controls. Yeah, there's a thing in the center. You can just like drag it, drop it. Oh, yeah. Okay. Is it, can I, is it copacetic to shoot it right there?
So I'm trying to try to get those here? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so it'll be behind him, but it'll engulf him. Yeah. Okay, gotcha. Then that's what I'm going to try and do. You see, like, a chimera is going to do. to toss this thing and he is actually just going to like take Ruby's hands when she's like touching him and just sort of like he's not going to say anything but he's just going to look at her. It's okay. I got this and just take her hands really gently and put them away. And then he's going to light on fire again and this whole thing is going to happen again.
Like this large humanoid flame going to burn off of him and he is going to explode out against the statutes. to engulf our friend here. That's the damage. Not great damage, but Dex 2 save for half damage. Times three, Ian. Yeah, so that would be... That's 19. 57? I think. Yeah. 57? Good God, yeah. Well, let's see if he passes this. Oh, it's Dex. Damn it. Oh, that time he rolled in 18. So that'll do it. 57 in half. 27? 20. 257 half is 27? No. It's 20. I can be right. 25. 28. 28. Got it. Okay. Yeah. There we go. Okay. Yeah. Oh boy. Okay. That will bloody the king. You know where it comes next.
As a result of being bloodied, he's going to reach up and break the horns off of Dobser. he is going to do a few different things. One, he is going to raise his leg and kick dozer right in the stomach. But there is so much, there is clearly magical force behind this. And you swear that when he kicks him, you hear thunder. So, you're going to see if this hit him, you hear thunder. So, you're going to see if this hits him. all the dice. Hey. Oh. Oh. Oh. Okay. So yes. Yes. Sadly, yes. So 12 just hits. Oh, damn. Doser. Come on, man. Well, I have a better AC than that.
I have a better. I have a better. They're not wearing any armor. It's all chiseled beef. So he's got a lot of hit points. Delicious should. We love to see it. It's worth it. His Insta is amazing. Like you don't know. So he's going to take eight bludging damage from the kick. eight thunder damage after that. And then you're going to see a strike of lightning when he makes contact with boot to stomach. And that's 32 damage. And that's going to bloody... That's going to bloody dozer. And I need a strength saving throw from him. Okay, he's gonna succeed and be pushed back five feet instead of launched.
But he's like, like his horns are broken, he's backed up now and just kind of... He's not prone, but scraping at the ground to like write himself, because that is way more than he expected. Ruby, you're up. Okay. Question. Looking at this. If she were to jump off of Logren shield, would she be able to? Yes, she would be able to hit him. She could jump from the shield to him. Okay, great. All right. Got it. She's going to yell to Logrin. Shield! And she's going to... jump up on this. I'm assuming that Lagrin is going to hold it steady. Well, yeah. So I mean, Dozer just got kicked back basically into Logren.
So I think it's one of those things where that almost like unplanted his shield. So he's able to like kind of swirl, even though he's kind of reeling from that, both Logrin and Dozer, he's able to kind of whirl it around in time. All right. So she's going to spin up, jump on that thing under the shield, and then, come back down for a big punch on the king. So that's going to put her basically here by the time she jumps down. I'm going to target him. She's going to rispelista on the way down. Bam bam. And screw it. I'm going to double shot this. All right.
Here we go. Expertise. Oh, and Logrin, you have an expertise die on everybody else, right? Is that right? Like you everybody gets an expertise die because of earlier? Great. So that means I get two expertise ties for that role. So 1d6? Ooh. Okay. 23 will hit. Great. I need to do double shot. I'm going to be shooting twice at him. Not two attacks, but the double shot exertion. Okay. Our comment maneuver. So there's the damage, 15 piercing on top of. of the 14. 29. Yeah. And in doing so, hang on. Let me make sure I can do this. Yep. Because I did hit, I'm going to be doing stunning strike on this.
I'm going to spend an exertion to force the target to make a con-saving throw. I want to fail to save the target is stunned until the end of my next turn. Con saving throw. We're going to hove. We're gonna drop in two, taking 20. He now rolls con saving throws with advantage, by the way. - good Lord. Fine, boy. As a reaction, he's, he's almost like, like, okay, obviously this hurts. Like, it's now getting to the point where those cracks are kind of forming in his skin, two fireballs and stuff. Like, his skin is charred and you're going to see that, that's, that's, that's, that. that magic or a leak off of him.
And in a straight line, right in front of him, he is going to ball up his fist and strike the ground. And he's going to do something called Earth Shatter. I'm glad everybody's in a straight line. Yeah. Thank you. Perfect. Awesome. Well, thankfully, it's only 20 feet. So that's. gets Ruby, dozer, and loggren. If I could get a straight save, DC 17. I'm glad I'm on the other side of the room. All right. Yeah, the critz tonight. Logger! Oh, my God. His middle finger. Do I do my expertise? No, fine. I'll just see what happens. 24 from Logrin. Oh, got another high one. 21.
And dozer. Oh, God. Well, it's strength. It's strength. Yeah, come on, strength, my man. 14's not going to do it. 14's not going to do it. 37 damage to Dozer. Oof. Which will kill him. Ah. Was you guys specified non-lethal? He didn't. Doser is dead. So I feel like that would be out of character. And so that will kill Dozer. Makes sense. Absolutely. Absolutely. Poor Dozer. And then half as much to everyone else. Hmm. No me gusto. 18. 18. 18 damage to Logrin and Ruby. Well, sounds good. However... Ruby has an extra attack. Do it. So Ruby is going to. Yeah. I mean, she's just going to go ahead and punch with Tyrant's Teeth, which is going to give her a 4D6 force damage on there.
So she's going to do an upper cut on this fella. Well, she's going to go for just a straight up punch, just an uppercut while she's there. After that earth shatter, she's just going to uppercut him and see what happens. If I hit, I can invoke. T. 20 hits. Oh, that expertise die. Damn. Okay. That's her one expertise die. She can spend per day for anything she wants to. So that's off the list for now, but at least it got a hit. So nine bludgeoning damage, which means she's then going to invoke tyrant's teeth as a bonus action, which means she can deal 46 force damage.
Which is happening right now. Just the 17. So as she's doing this uppercut, her gloves are going to glow and there's going to be this spectral like reptilian something just around that glove and straight up into his jaw. Yeah, no, he's just taken this. Like, just, you're doing lots of damage. And you're seeing that there's repercussions for this no matter what, whether you should do him or not. Jesse's going to use his gun as well. Oh, please. Oh, my God. Please. Please, please, please, please. Please, please. Please, please. Oh, can I? Before we, I'm just going to move around his side, so I'm not right in front of him. of his breath or whatever he's going to do at me.
That's what? That's also because of her boots. She's really proud of her boots. Yeah, I'm actively yelling. Ruby, get out of there. I'm trying. Don't be like Chad. Fring, Chad would be climbing on this guy. And you have too amazing. He does have a good ring to it. I'm just saying. What did you say? I was going to say Ruby and Nithyra do the most damage up close. So if you want them, most lethal. Yeah. I mean, Ruby is doing what she's doing, getting up there, assuming that Nithera or at least giving the opportunity for Nithera to be there. Right. You know Nithyr is right after you.
Yeah. So Jesse's going to fire, and the same thing happens. Not a crit mess, but like it's just going to... and these two are going to look at each other like, look this. Like, just why? I don't know. We feel like the hard to get paid, you know. Not really. Austin, calling Uber. Wait, get me up. Can ride with my. Fine. God, okay. Garell's gonna assess this. Someone died just now. Like, it's very clear. that Dozer's dead. Like, there's no, yeah, no, he is a twisted heap after, yeah. Riel's gonna cast healing stone, and this tiny obelisk is going to rise up next to her, like straight out of the ground.
And she's going to kind of yell at everyone. If you need to heal, touch the stone. So if you can touch this, And you want to use, I believe it's an action. It'd be wrong. It's a bonus action. So if you run to it, touch it, you get 3D6 healing and after three times the stone crumbles. Damn. Okay. Okay. Why are you so far away? Ruby. Well, they came in last. Dozer. Do you touch the op-list. Oh, ho, ho. No, I'm joking. That is not for real. She did not too. The bloody heap that was dozer. Exactly. All right. Good God. Second soldier. They're so far back there and they're dwarves.
He's going to dash and get up here. And now, like, they have weapon and shield drawn. Like, ready. It's like, okay. We're going to. to go, God, we're going to try and take him down. I never mentioned this at the beginning of the battle, but he is enlarged, which is something that deep dwarves can do. He's just swall right now because of this, like, he's just, he's a category above everyone else in the sure is. Ruby, ever at your eyes. Except for Brax, our last minute to our friend. That is the end of round one. Now, now the fight begins. Now we can start. I'm regretting being next to him.
By the way. I'm surprised you do it so early. I mean, that's how she fights. I don't think, I mean, she's, she shoots on the way to getting close, you know. Round two. Hmm. Damn. You may notice that King Hackroll is in the initiative tracker twice. Ah, yes. Excellent. Good. Now. Every round this goes on, he gets another initial. You're kidding. Oh, my God. Stop. I think, because Jesse's up first, and because he's the brash one, I think he's going to try and shoot one more damn time. What? He's going to use something called Dead Eye, where he gets advantage on the next one.
Next. So hopefully this goes a little better. Ah, 20! That's way better. Okay, so seven damage. That's it right now. Low damage roll, but it's something. Ruby, you're up. Great. I am... I'm gonna disengage and run so that I'm not right next to this person. Why? But I'm going to go back here. So you're getting behind him? Getting behind him so that if, I mean, if he turns and wants to fight me, great, but that he's opening himself up a bit. Or if he doesn't, then I have at least some options here. Yeah, the problem is where you've backed up, there's a statue there.
Oh, I didn't see that. Yeah, you're like there's a statue and you're basically in its huggin' arms. So there's nowhere to go if he decides to close in on you. Okay, that's a good point. I did I just saw gray on my screen. That's fine. She'll just come over here. The point is she's getting away. She's going to get on these steps, baby. I don't know what they are, but. And steps. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So west, you're going to the left of the left. I'll go over that way. That is first action. But now she's going to, she's going to do a melee. I'm sorry, a range attack with her wrist ballista.
Sorry. I got long arms. Bo-p-p-p-poo-poo! 22! That will hit 17 piercing damage. Oh, that is all for now. Okay. Okay. King Hardroll. Okay. Okay. At the beginning of each of his turns, he regains two D6 hit points. Oh, my God. And that goes up by one D6 every round. Oh, he's got something that comes off every round, too, right? From last time. Oh, the gaping wound. Yes, I do, yes. Do you got to do that? Just to counter it. Honestly, that does counter it. Yeah. So, that would have been, so at least, dose or left a mark. So he would have reg nine-hs. Hit points, but he doesn't because of that.
He's going to grab the hammer off of his back, and he's just going to start madly swinging. And with each swing, he's just going to start screaming at everyone. My own guards have turned against me. And he's going to move and just... Oh, God. He's going to swing at one of his guards here. And good God, okay. Jesus, okay. 30 hits. He's not breaking stride. He's walking up and taking a massive swing with this two-handed hammer with one hand, doing 20 damage to this guard and killing him. He is going to keep going to the other guard and swing again. Oh, God, that...
Oh, fuck, 19's still going to hit! Jesus! 19 damage is going to kill that other guard, and he is going to sidle right up to Lachron. Do you think I'm going to let a dwarf take this mountain as well? Just mad, mad with fury, and he's going to swing that warhammer again. 22 is just gonna miss Laugren. Wow. Yeah, it's not gonna... It goes off his shield and Logrin just looks up and he says, I'm not afraid of you. Oh, my God. Lopren, you're up. We're here to help. It doesn't feel like it, but we're here to help, and he's gonna swing his own hammer. It's right.
It's right. This is Dwarf style, help. Yeah. Love me, help. Help you. This is just a conversation in Dwarven. This is actually what the language sounds like. Yeah. Yeah. So I just went to look, I went to go look at this maneuver. I thought it was on my attack, but it's actually on his miss. What does the maneuver do? Take weapon. I'm going to let you try it. Okay, wait, wait, wait. You don't just take it, right? There's a role. Right. So it's going to cost me two exertion points. All right. When a creature misses you with the melee weapon, attack against you using a weapon, you can use your reaction to flip it out of the creature's hands.
The creature makes a dexterity saving throw on a failure, it drops the weapon, and you grab it from mid-air. So I did say he was swinging a two-handed warhammer with one hand. You sure did. I am absolutely. So, Dex, Dave, what's? What's your maneuver DC? My maneuver DC is 15. Fuck. Ooh. I got a plus one for a deck save. This should go well. I need some glimpse of the future here. Where's Ora? Okay, never right. We're good. He rolled in eight. So I imagine you just, you have a thing with your shield and just like move it up. You can spend two exertion points to immediately use the weapon. to make a melee weapon attack against the creature.
I'm gonna hit him with his own fucking hammer. This is when you say, I'm not afraid of you, right? I'm not scared of it. Okay, so I'm gonna hit him with his own weapon. I just, what do you want to do? Just what's the damage on that thing? Is it? A lot. So okay. Okay. So here's the thing. It's the Royal Warhammer. Okay. Give me a D20. On a 1 through 10, nothing happens. On 11 through 20, that weapon's still imbued with his power. You're going to deal extra force damage like he would have done to you if he hit. 18. Oh, right. An 18. Holy man. So that's 48 damage if you hit.
Hmm. Okay. Just swing with your hammer. Okay. I'm gonna just say it's like, hey, a hammer, hammer, you know? Like, that's hammering. You're both dwarves. Just hammering around, you know? That's a 23. 203. Give me 48 plus your strength modifier. 48 plus my strength. God. This is why we all follow Loggering. This is exactly right. Ruby is just watching this like, holy man. That's 21 total. 21. God. So if I'm taking advantage too much here, let me know. But technically, that was my reaction. I have one more attack. Okay. I, okay. So he swings at you. You just like, you catch the thing.
I'm not afraid of you. And technically, sorry, I don't want to, can I like catch the head of the hammer in his life? Sure. Sure. Well, I think you rolled high enough. If he stops it with the shield and then he can grab it by the head of the hammer or something like that, basically. It's like a pincer thing. Like you're, yeah. So you're, you hit him, you reaction wise, you would have had to hit him with his weapon first. Clop, just blam, just clanging him in the head with it. Then you would have hit with your first attack. Second. Now you're hitting again. No, I'm hitting again.
Okay. Has his own force energy fallen off of the weapon at this point? Is that how we want to do it? Or is it still there? I would say, yeah. It was a split second thing. All right, I'll just do. I'm good. I still have his hammer, but I'm just going to roll mine. That's fine. All right. Last attack. Here we go. Hmm. 14. 14's going to miss. Oh, shit. Oh, I looked cool until the end. All right. Okay. You just, that. Oops. What else? Do I have anything else? That was a reaction. I'm just going to mark Fogne as my bonus action. Him right there. Which one? Tapping him on the chest.
This one. I'm actually pretty afraid. Please come help. He looks so cool. Yeah. Yeah, but I have his hammer now and that's my turn. Shit. Okay. Austin. Shit. Austin seeing that you've taken that weapon is going to move in close. Not adjacent, but closer. And he's also going to use Dead Eye and get advantage for his attack bowl. And that's a crit, ladies gentlemen. Wow. God damn. Okay, 26 damage. Oh my God, that's really gonna hurt. I imagine he just shoots him like in the face, basically. Like it's gonna take off part of his jaw over here. Like it's a nasty scar. And you'll watch that magic stitch the skin back together loosely, but only with like the arcane energy. holding it there.
Like it is, it's not surgery. D6 to see if we're rolling on that crit table. We are rolling on that crit table. Ooh. Oh, concussion. So this is actually going to, I mean, let's see, he's got to roll a con save, but. Oh, wait, he just has an advantage. I forgot. Yes, I forgot. I'm sorry. Okay. 20. He's fine. Like, it hurt, but he's fine. Rex has got a reload. Actually, you know what, fuck that. After watching Dozer go down, he's just going to go to a mad charging frenzy and try to gore him. Oh, ho, ho, ho. That is a quit. No way. Jesus. I don't think he's going to survive.
I don't think he's going to survive. I don't. think Brex is going for knocked out. I don't realistically, if someone can make a case that he would be, I just don't think, like it's just vengeance now. Like he's just lost it. Minotors aren't known for their diplomacy anyway, but this is just like you killed. Like, holy shit. Can't even really blame them. Yeah. Mm-mm. And that rolls on the crypt table. Deadly blow. So he is going to gore him again right through the lungs, and that is going to reduce... It's going to kill him. It's going to kill him. There's no way this doesn't kill him.
Yeah, that is it. He's going to actually slump over. Like, it takes a couple seconds. It looks like he's going to break those horns off again. And like, his grip just keeps getting weaker as that magic just leeches out of his body. There's so many holes and there's so many. Like, it's just leaving him and his grip gets weaker and he is going to slump over the head of Brax. And Brax is going to lift his head up and just shake, making the holes larger and then dumping him onto the ground. And that will take you out of calm. There is this stunned silence in the room.
They just found out. They're never going to get these answers, I guess, but like, they just found out that the king they've been speaking to for at least a little bit was a fake. And something, like, I don't know how long the king's been free basing. magic. Or to what end? Probably just to get a leg up in the upcoming war they were talking about with the stone sunders. And Rehels just like stunned. The two guards she brought in, they're dead. You know, there's a dead minotaur. They're like, the room is coded in blood. The throne's covered in it. And she's just, she's just standing there watching this.
It's a large and goes right in. action actually. So he's going to, his shield's planted. He actually leaves it standing up right where it is. And he turns around and he will point to his team or at least to Ruby and Night Thera because Camere is probably not fully in his right mind. He'll point to Ruby and Nathera and over to Brax and be like, you know, help him out, make sure that's all right. And he's going to go directly to Real. Real. Is that her name? Real. Real. Real. He's going to go directly to her and be like, we heard on the way here that there was a problem.
I'm sorry, it went this way. I was really hoping for a better outcome. What can we do? So there's a complication because she's on the same stuff. Yeah. That kind of is on. Oh, shit, you're high too. Uh, okay. Yeah. Blown out eyes. Like, obviously, it's just there's, there's grief. And there's also irrationality. I think I have to roll a wisdom saving through for her. Oh, boy. Okay. That's a 15. She gets advantage to, I think. For wisdom. For all saving throws. Oh, Jesus. Yeah. Well, she rolled 15. That's good. So she's still, there's all this energy and nowhere to go with it.
So it's just... And she's... She's more focused on... She's looking at dozer's body. And her voice is real low while she's talking. He killed that minotory. He would never... never normally do that. That's not the man I knew. And she's just like, she's not, she's kind of like rambling. Like it's not, she's not processing this. It's just like what, what happened? All this, this was 12 seconds or, you know, 20 seconds worth of, you know, the holy shit. Yeah. And he's, and he's, he gets it, right? Like, he's like, I understand. If you didn't know, you didn't know, it's, he wasn't who he was.
I fully believe that. that there's nothing we can do now but find a way past it. And he's trying to like, he's got his hands on his shoulders. He's like trying to keep her focused on him. I don't know if I can try to roll like a diplomacy or something to try to keep her focused as much as I can or give me persuasion. Persuasion. That's what I meant. Yeah. There is no diplomacy. I know, but I didn't want to like come back. That's a bad ass moment. Me and my, me and my third edition self, you know. trying to roll diplomacy over here. 16. So it's going to kind of like, hey, come back, you know.
Like, I understand you're in a real bad high right now, but I need you to focus. We just committed to register. I need it here. I need you right here. And she's going to, you kind of tell her, it's like, oh, you didn't know him. And then, like, that's the guy he was. And she's quick to like, he was. clearly under the influence of whatever that, that, whatever this is. And she's looking around the room, this was not here before. This is. And she's, she's almost going to start yelling to everybody. Everyone get out now. Like, get away from this stuff. Get out of the room, move.
And we could talk about this outside. But. Yeah. I don't know what possessed him to touch this. like And again, still looking at that minotaur. And she's like, Brax is still looking down at the king's body. Just kind of like, fuck you get up. Like that's kind of his attitude towards the whole thing. And almost expecting him to do so. I think Nythero would for Brax grab his arm and be like, and just quietly, while Logrin's having this conversation, but quietly go, he's dead. we got to leave the room. Like, gently, like, trying to get him back in the moment.
Does you give me persuasion? Because he's kind of high on rage right now. That's kind of his schick. My fear should never say anything. What? I have plus zero. 11's not. 11. I think 11s. So if the king didn't do. die, then it would be a much higher check. But he's dead. And he's going to kind of look over at Dozer and just like, just kind of just fucking furious still. But he's going to, he's going to look down at you and. And start walking out. Guys, I think that's a good time to stop for the night. Oh, I've such a long wait till the next game. I just have a thought that we're playing tomorrow. 21 hours.
Congratulations. That, oh my God, there's... That could have definitely gone different ways. That was great. Good job. Holy shit. I... That's a lot of damage output. Even for... some of the advantages you had. We got to deal with getting high after this. I just had a horrible thought. Yeah. With three people dead, at least our XP bonus is higher. Terrible. My theory kills like somebody, two other people in the room just to make sure. Don't take her experience. Sorry, I'm nothing personal. Nothing personal.
