What Happens
The party splits to handle multiple crises in Esterholt. Ruby works on the Gearheart and witnesses a large group of Minotaurs arriving for a meeting. Nythera and Vetti investigate Zira's murder, finding evidence pointing to Thane Silverfox. Chimera hosts a brutal tournament where local thugs fight for warlock power, collecting their souls through Ora's help. When Chimera absorbs too many souls at once, he transforms into a monstrous form and begins slaughtering the tournament participants. Simultaneously, Silverfox attempts to assassinate Chet with a poisoned crossbow bolt, leading to a rooftop chase with Nythera. Logrhyn descends into the basement to confront the transformed Chimera.

Notable Lore
The Gearheart appears to have cleaned and repaired itself mysteriously, either autonomously or by unknown parties Minotaurs arrive in Esterholt in large numbers (45-50) with armed escort for an important meeting, possibly connected to Logrhyn's alliance efforts Thane Silverfox possesses weapons specifically designed to harm thralls and other creatures, using poisoned/burning crossbow bolts Chimera can absorb multiple souls simultaneously through Ora's touch, but absorbing too many at once causes him to transform into a massive demonic form and lose control When Chimera loses control to Kolgoth's power, he grows taller with elongated horns, a flaming crown effect, and becomes an unthinking killing machine Ora has discovered she's skilled at facilitating soul collection for Chimera, creating tension with Logrhyn over the morality of this role Chet's thrall nature makes him a target for Silverfox's monster-hunting activities

All righty, last time on Frostporn, the gang strolled back into Estherhold and immediately got hit with the city's favorite hobby, seven simultaneous crises, all yelling, pick me! chimera's got a mob hunting him to prove his worth as a warlock, and while Camara does some magical shape-shifting to get out of it, Logren does his best to play along. While that's happening, Ruby sees that there are a whole bunch of minotors parked at the gate of Estherhold and responds like any adult, not my monkeys, not my circus. Then she goes back to lovingly upgrading the gear heart, so it stops being in this arcane nuclear reactor that only goes 12 miles an hour and maybe does something a little bit better.
Nithera and Vetti break into Zira's place, discover it's been suspiciously cleaned, and find out someone's yonked a very fancy elven dagger. So yeah, that's not random murder, that's someone had a shopping list. The hidden notes they find basically scream, Thane Silver Fox is a fraud and or serial killer, and Nithera's reaction is, legally speaking, not great for his long-term prospects. At some point, chimera's disguise slips. The thugs roll up. Logrin turns brass knuckles into a public humiliation event, and Chimera tries to convert the whole gang into a warlock MLM with a friendly little waiver, because nothing says trust like surprise contract law and street violence.
Today on Frostborn, Ruby digs deeper into the Gearheart mystery. Nithera finally finds the missing clues she needs. Chimera doubles down on a risky play for power, and Logren does what he does best, trying to keep the city and the kids and chimera out of trouble. Take it away, Jason. Let's go. Let's do that thing. We go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason on the dungeon master. Go on around the table. Starting with Ian. Hello, I'm Ian. My pronouns are he, him, any, and I am playing chimera, the Tifling Warlock. And Susan. Hey, I'm Susan Spanator.
My pronouns are she-her, and I will be playing Nythera Rialith, the Elven Rogue. And Jameson. Hey, I'm Jameson. I play Laramron-Cragorn. He's a Dwarven Marshall. And last and certainly not least, Jasper. Hey, everybody, I'm Jasper. he him. I play Ruby Pedigrew, the half-org, Gearslinger, Adept. Again, congratulations. Good job. Nice job. It's the 22th of doing. And it's canon now. Excellent. It's a little rare that all of us show up that punch drunk. But, man, it makes for great behind the scenes. I don't know about the episode. but we have a tournament to do. We have a bunch of fresh-faced NPCs with full backstories that are about to be just ground into nothing.
And we also have about 15 other things going on within the city. The group is still split up. And I want all of you to do me a favor at Roll of D20. That's how we're kicking things off today. Okay. Opio and sis. There we go. A 20. I'm sorry. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Okay. Jasper. You're holding the team up tonight. Jasper, you have a trade. What did you get there? Yeah. I got a 20. That's true. I don't even. I would. would do that for you with all the roles that you have had before at times. But let's just see where this lands tonight. I like it. Yeah. Let the dice tell the story.
Let them tell their story. Well, we were already going to start off with Ruby because, boy, did you ask for get the short end of the stick last time. Listen, this is, I said last time, after. That's not a message you sent to me afterwards. Well, I had been, I had been drinking quite heavily. And your Instagram reels were full of... I will say the word tirade. I apologize. No, no. I was saying at the end of the episode when we were getting off the call, this is the consequence of splitting the party and there's story that has to happen. This is totally normal and fine.
I didn't feel like I didn't get to talk. It was just story was happening. It's awesome. Where are you talking now? So let's go. Oh, my God. So your friends are on the other side of town. To your knowledge, everything's fine. Oh, yeah. It's going okay. Yeah. They have things well in hand. She literally thinks that they are just talking to people and it's blah, blah, blah, blah, boring, whatever. That's all that. As far as she's concerned, she's like, I'm glad not with them. I'd be bored off my ass. Yeah. So what I'd like you to do? You've been working with the Gearhart.
And you said you want to do. investigate this now that you know that it's like okay well I know it's okay why is it okay you're just you're just doing little like tweaks and and balanced stuff to to kind of get this to I would love an engineering check please just to kick us off absolutely absolutely can you tell me let me ask what is this for what is this for is this for her to sort of pick up on something or is this for her to see if she's doing a good job at it at at gadgeting it honestly this is just for for little tweaks and things, right? So imagine when you have downtime like this, you performing day by day, these little, these little engineering checks, this is filling a little XP bar for the car, right? So little things.
It's like, hey, the handling's getting tweaked. It moves a little faster. It's a little, you know, that type of thing. That's all I want to do with it. Gotcha. Understood. Uh, and this is important enough to me with Ruby in particular that I'm going to go ahead and get my, my once-a-day expertise, die. I may regret that later for a minuteors may beat my ass and I might want an expertise die or something. I have no idea. Who knows what you're going to throw at us, Jason? Let's see here. I'm going to add it. And I also have, I do get a D4 already for gadget tree.
It's a specific engineering check. Is that that cool? So I'm going to, I'm just going, I'm rolling for it. Because this is her, this is her passion. 19. 19. gorgeous. So if there's one thing that you want to be better, what is it? Like right this minute. I mean, well, this is a hard question. I'll try to be brief. I mean, she wants the overall structural integrity to be. That's her main focus. She wants this thing to be roadworthy and completely solid. But that's on one end of the spectrum. On the other end of the spectrum, she's like adding gadgets and gear. and gadgets and gears for future upgrades.
Like she's thinking of like 20 steps ahead kind of stuff. So I know she wants some wipers. I think the thing that she would think was most important, despite all of the stuff that she's putting together, is the integrity of the forge core and making sure that that was something that was safe and not harming them or harming anybody else, especially since it's the kind of thing that it's, you can, could probably just stick your hand on it. And that would not be a good thing. I'd like to say ejector seats, but I think it's probably the forge core. Let's put a pin in ejector seats.
Let's let's. Okay. Let's worry about the, I think the core is the biggest thing, right? You know, you don't want an errant bump or sliding down a hill to detonate half of, you know, like, let's, let's work on that. And then, so while you're working on this, and this is taking a couple. of hours. Around 45 minutes in, you're going to hear lots, lots of foot traffic. And you're going to see guards marching with just a sea of Minotaur. Just looking, it's a good 45 to 50. Wow. And they're walking through Main Street. It looks like they're moving toward the center of town to speak with somebody of, you know, import.
And there's a lot of kind of like slack-jawed like looky-lose type of thing. It's like, oh, shit, what's happening? But it doesn't look, it, it doesn't look like the guards are, you know, oh, you're coming with us. It's like, hey, we're going to escort you there just in case. Because it doesn't look like the guards could do much to contain them if they tried. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. Like, these Minotaur, average, like, you know, 6-8, you know, 6-10 somewhere in there. And their leader is quite big. Do you know anything about the Minotaur, I guess?
Like, I know you've met a couple now. But like, I don't, I think, you know, she grew up in Brightport. She has been around a lot of different people. I don't know how much she would have really come across a lot of Minotaur. I don't think that she's like gobsmacked to see one. or anything like that. I think she's probably interacted, but I don't know that she would have a whole lot of background. That's fair. Because, I mean, opposite coast, right? Yep, exactly. I'm sorry, I'm probably cutting you off. Is there more? No, go, go, go. It sounds like there's a thought.
Well, no, I think Ruby would, you know, there's going to be noise. She's going to be really hyper-focused on some stuff. And if she hears this, she's going to sort of, you know, remember, oh, right, that's right, there's minotors at the gate. What the hell's going on? So she would put her stuff down. And I think she would carefully, because if there's any commotion, she's not going to just wander out. She's going to stealthily make sure she's, you know, like, is there something bad happening here? And if she sees this effectively a parade of minotaur is coming through, she's going to try to grab.
If there's like a guard on the outside of that parade, a little bit walking with them, she's going to grab their shoulder or their arm in a gentle way. But like, hey, hey, hey, what's going on? At first, it would probably be, oh, there's no need to panic. Everything's fine. It's under control. Like, kind of giving you the, you know, we're not under attack or anything like that. Everything's fine. She's definitely going to look really excited and interested in it rather than panicked. So if the person does that and then they look at her, she's just going to be still looking at these.
She's kind of like looking at all the details and she could be, yeah, but what do they want? Well, they're here for a meeting. I know that. I assume it's with the mayor. But it's kind of above my pay grade. That's fine. All right, thanks. She'll just wave him along. Like, yeah, yeah, back to your post or whatever. Oh, yeah. Fuck off. Yeah, fuck you. She'll say, fuck you. And then she'll slap him on the ass. See, this is what happened. last week after the session. I'm still sore. You're stronger than you are. I am. I apologize. So. Okay. So she's going to just keep looking.
She's going to watch this parade. So one thing about Ruby that I don't get to mention very often is with her Velocispring boots, she's like a goat. She's like if there's something to get on top of, like all of a sudden you look up, There's Ruby on top of it looking down and trying to get a sort of a sense of things. So she might try to climb up if there's any sort of wall or door frame or something like that. Like a lamp post or something. Wherever she can sort of get up really quickly, she's going to be just looking for any details. And the reason for it is she wants to see what they're carrying, what their demeanor is.
She's kind of looking for the quick. What can I get from this? situation. So when I talk to Lagrin, I can give him some details. Give me a perception with advantage, please. I'll do it. Drop a nine, take a 15, 21 for the total. So a lot of these, a lot of these folks are heavily armed. You get the sense that, you know, they're normally heavily armed. Anybody walking around outside of a city should be heavily armed. You guys are heavily armed. So that's not so crazy. They do appear to just be marching peacefully. Like, they aren't being taken somewhere. They're going there anyway.
And these guards are along for the ride. And you're going to see them. The way everything kind of sets is after the main gates, there's almost like a slight valley. And you're going to watch them march into the center of town and from two sides flanking, you are going to see, um, you're going to see both parties of palatins start marching into there too, which either means that they are part of this meeting or they're making themselves part of this meeting, that type of thing. Got it. All right. So there's this doesn't feel aggressive. It feels important, however.
There's a lot of them. Ruby, of course, knows, you know, Lagrin basically was starting up the ally ship with Minotaur kind while we were in the Durgaar Stronghold. So there's some, she's putting a couple of dots together, but she doesn't quite have enough to be able to say what's happening here. But I would say that she thinks. thinks. Yeah. I'm going to have to tell them about this real soon. Right. She's going to be thinking she better finish up what she's doing and then probably try to find Lagrin in particular. As soon as you have an entire group of a type of of peoples that he's been talking to for allyship, not invading. but certainly parading through a town where we are, she's going to think that might be important.
I bet Loggerner would need to know this. So she's going to do that. She's going to not go immediately, but she's going to go back to the gear heart. She's going to finish whatever she was going to do. She doesn't feel like there's any urgency. Like I've got to run down or get a or like take the gear heart and race through town or something. But she's going to finish up something and then make her way back over towards wherever she thinks Logrin might be. be. I do want to ask one thing, though. As she's messing around with a forge core and the rest of the gear heart, I mean, this thing, as far as she can tell, it fixed itself, it cleaned itself.
It has a mind of its own in some way. Or on the other side of that spectrum, a group of people came in the middle of the night and did a car wash. thing on this thing and fix a bunch of the gremlins or something. She's going to try to see if there's anything she can glean from within the Gearheart, with the forge core, with anything about it, where she can maybe think like this, it looks like it's doing it itself or there were somebody else here. She's just trying to piece a mystery together without knowing all the answers. Give me an investigation check.
I'll do it. Oof. There's our first one of the evening. There you go. Let me roll on that skill critical failure table. Let's see why. Cross-hide. You've been searching and researching for hours, but to no avail, you gain a level of strife. Okay, this is, this actually makes a lot of sense. She's dealing with a lot with the gear heart. She has been hyper-focused on making all sorts of things happening, and there's at least 30% of her. brain that has been nonstop itching because what in the hell has been going on with the gear heart without her knowing about it without her having any say so in it without any if anybody touched this thing she's going to break their fingers you know that kind of stuff right so I'm not surprised that she's mentally exhausted she already was before she got here so this is just the icing on the cake all right I want to head across town.
Into the seediest little pub. Not the pub itself, under the pub. I want to go into the basement of the pub. There are essentially four semi-large pillars holding this place up, and they have strung rope around, around this. And, um, and, um, I'm, I've already run. this tournament. Unless something happens. This is going, I'm going to tell you what's going to happen. And I want, I'll explain as we do it. You'll see. I, yeah, I just, I want to do one thing before we get into the tournament. Sure. Because I think when we go down there, chimera, like, I think he looks at, ORA and he like sees that there are kids down here and that kind of like clicks for him a little bit and he's like okay this could get really violent and bad and maybe they don't need to see this so he's going to try to get all of them to do as ORA suggested to like sign this contract before this all takes off And he's going to try and oh yeah Well one they're dumb as shit and two I was piggybacking off of your last role for the like they like they're on board It's like sure whatever it's a waiver that type of thing Yeah Your roles were so astronomically high that you know what I mean They're already killing each other like yeah I'll sign the paper whatever Yeah and so and so yeah so Camer is going to frame this as like we're setting the rules.
These are the boundaries, you know, sign in blood, upheld with your integrity. But he's going to be like... Integrity. Yeah. But he's going to be like, we don't need to take this to the death. I want to make sure that even those of you who fail can come back stronger. I want to give this to you. and I want you to be able to come back and be worthy of it. So I'm here. I'll give the power to the most worthy right now. I get to call the match. Love that. Yes. So you're... Wait, wait, wait. So it's not like you're trying to get the kids to leave. No, I hear... Let me be clear.
He doesn't want them to leave. He just doesn't want them to witness a bunch of... a grisly death. So they're still going to fight and bash each other in. But he just doesn't want them to see a bunch of... Just to look. Yeah, a bunch of needless murder. God. Oh, yeah. No, this is very pointed murder. Yeah. But he still wants the kids to leave. Oh, okay. How do you present that? Well, so he's been... quietly more and more kind of disgruntled with this whole idea, sort of, since the beginning. The bar itself, first of all, I need to know what's the name of this tavern, this pub.
Sorry. Grizzle bits. Yeah. Okay. We can't have kids in here. Like he's going to see that old crusty, like swinging wooden sign as we approach. He's like, hmm. All right. And then we get inside. And I assume the place is as disgusting as it would need to be to be called grizzled bits, right? So Grizzle bits is like, you get the sense this place had a heyday and the name was ironic. It is no longer ironic. It's like going into a friendlies on the East Coast now. You know what I mean? Like, what are the old brick ones? What's like, oh man, this place had a heyday.
It is not 2025. Like, you know? There is a film. home on everything. Yeah. Especially any of the friendlies that serve seafood of any kind. Those are all closed in my area. They took them out back. They were closed. They were shut down. Yeah. Yeah. They were board of health. So, yeah, Lagerin. As Camera is like, I want to say schmoozing with these guys, but that's not quite the right work. As he's conning them actively. Yeah. Networking. As he's actively conning these men into dying, essentially. Logrin like mom arms, the group behind him, all four of the kids. He just like sticks his arm out.
You guys don't need to watch a death tournament. So here's the thing. Hold that thought for just a moment. Hold that thought. I imagine the cut of this. While role play informants are going on, the tournament's taking place in the background. So it's just an announcer. It's like the pod race from fucking episode one. So like we're not going to take up a whole world. bunch of time with a tournament where you guys aren't playing. In the background, if people listen, there's things happening. So running down this tournament, it's Johnny Two Teeth. It's Crispin, the Unpleasant.
Slugsman the Moist. Barnaby Haftick. Oh. Wait a minute. Between you danger hug. Yeah. No, there's a story. There's a story here. Halfdick's got an arc. Maybe. I don't know. We'll see. Flora. Five shots. Rex can't die. The gentleman butcher. Just goes by the gentleman. He has a nice hat. God, I hope Rex can't die really lives up to his name. Otherwise, that'd be so sad. Or he trips. He trips and dies before he even on the rope. Like, the first matchup is going to be Johnny Two Teeth and Crispin the Unpleasant. And they're getting that, you know, there's an announcer going on in the, you know, I, I, and tell me what Chimer is doing.
Because you're kind of, you're kind of the Bruce Buffer of this thing, right? Like, you're kind of like, I don't know if you're announcing people. I don't know if, or you're just hyping up the grand prize. Like, how are you treating this? If there is, if there is an announcer there, there. then I guess he wouldn't be doing that. But if there isn't, like, he absolutely, that's the, that's the position he would take is, you know, center. Yeah, center stage, you know, in this corner, we've got Johnny two teeth, you know, and he's, I mean, he's, now he's really in his element.
Like, he's making a show and he has people's attention in the way that he wants. So, like, I think he's like, really lean. leaning into this and like making a thing. And I think he's looking around to see if ORA is around too. So that's the thing. That's why I wanted to put a pause on this for just a second. So as as Logren's kind of scooping up these kids getting ready to get out of here, as will follow. That's fine. And, you know, Chet's not. Chet doesn't necessarily want to see this. He's kind of not a fan. of Cole Gough and this whole thing. And he kind of wants to talk to Lagerin about it, but there's a lot going on at the moment.
ORA is not happy with trying to be... I settle this up. I mean, I got to see this through. You're right. This amount of murder is on your hands as much as his. Why don't you go on down? I'll take these two out. Okay. He's not happy with her at all fucking stone sunda. I... Yeah. So, okay. That's the first time. It's so bluntly like, put to her that you are upset. And so as you're ushering everybody out, like, Jet's going to kind of take as like, come on, let's just, let's just go upstairs. Because it is very obvious. She doesn't turn around. right away. And she's going to kind of stop everything.
I don't get it. What's your problem? A bunch of fucking scumbags are going to die that, like, you, you need chimera more powerful for the stuff, right? I don't get it. Or if I have to explain it to you, then it might already be too late. Why don't you enjoy the show. We'll talk later. Logren, Logren. Where are you going? Where's everyone going? I'm taking the nine-year-old out. Okay, fair enough. Yeah. But Orest staying, right? She's... So the entire time, she's going to kind of lock eyes with Logrin and without looking away. Yeah. Yeah, I'm staying. And she's going to... walk back.
Like, she's insulted a bit. But in her mind, she's found something she's good at. And it's not really fighting. Fighting's not her thing. She can kind of help others, but it's just not her thing. And the second she finds something she's good at, there's always someone to tell her. It's like, this is fucked up. Now, there's got to be a portion of her that knows this is fucked up. This is not good. But, you know, but like, chimir doesn't. It's fine. Like, everybody loves chimera. It's, you know, so, yeah, she's going to go back and join him. And I would imagine, camera-wise, we're following you guys up for a bit.
Just to. Well, yeah, and it's not going to take long because basically Logrin's going to walk them out of this shit hole of a, of a, of a, of a, pub and he's going to basically be like listen ruby's working on the gear heart let her know where we are i can't leave chimera and or down there case things get bad let her know don't stop for literally anything between here and there please like and he'll give him the name of the well they already know the name of the in that we're at because it's the one we were at before but um silk sheets yeah so she's gonna be it's parked near this silk sheets just ask people wear the weird you know a thing without horses is it runs hot it'll be melted all around runs real hot yeah uh chat's not giving you any there okay chat has hung enough hung around you enough to know that this is a new not a new emotion but you're not angry you're not flabbergasted or frustrated you're disappointed in somebody like it comes off as that way it's a little bit that but he's more neutral than that he's more like well this is a mess and now we have to fix it type thing you know so like he's he's more just straight straight business but the first order of business is like get the kids out so that if things get ugly, I have less to worry about. You know, I'd rather be down there having to hold all these gangsters off of two people instead of four people.
That's not going to fight you on any of us. He's just, yeah, I'll take that over. It's fine. Can I ask you a question? Sure. If it's personal, it's fine, but how many, I guess, how many souls has Kymira been through? Like, is this a new thing? Is that like, is this always been and we just didn't notice? Um, out of character, I don't think that this, like, in volume like this, this is new, right? Oh, fuck yes. Yeah. But he has had to do things like this in the year or so that we've known him. It would be like, okay. Imagine a grifter selling time shares, right?
You know what I mean? That's more what it was like. It's like sign somebody up. They're not dead instantly. it's just now go out and be lucky, that type of thing. And they probably met a grizzly end at some point. Because they were dumb enough to sign a contract or whatever. And, you know, but this is all, it has escalated so quickly, like so quickly that, yeah, no one does a little bit of heroin, you know? Yeah, I think to piggyback on that, like, chimera has never been like, I need eight or nine or ten people. Like that's never, probably never happen.
I need a theater troupe of people. Yeah. Baseball team. What's next? Genuinely, after something like this, what is it just escalate or is it? Anyway. So I was hoping to do something about that, but. Plans change. So Loggerin will take like a half beat to answer him. And then it'll just be like, it's a bit more than usual. Once this is over, we're going to have a talk. He's going to open his mouth as if to like continue and then just. I'll take that in the town. Yeah. He's going to open his mouth as if to like continue and then just. walk off. Just like, all right.
Don't stop for any reason. He's not even going to turn around. No side quests. Just going to take this to come up, big guy, and just like take that. And once they're out of sight, Loggernal will go back inside. Let me, let me ask a question. Actually. Um, with Nythera and Vetti. There's a person on your list you'd like to speak to. Do you plan on catching up with the group first? Or... Please. I was going to say yes. I've been thinking about this a lot. Nysheera is not... A lot of her life was an impulsive do things, but she is... An older woman has lived through mistakes, has gained wisdom, has accepted that she needs help, needs friends.
I understand that she is a murdering assassin, but she also has grown. So, well, there is a large part of her that would have been like, if this was 20 years ago, I'd just go murder this guy and then hang him from like the gates. Hmm. But. My ex-husband would be disappointed if I did that. Logger would be disappointed if I did that. I have friends for a reason. Come on, Vetti. Let's go report into Loggeron. She's probably going to ask you a dozen questions on, you know, the most important ones are probably going to be. If he did it, how are you going to get him to, like, admit to it?
Because I'm, he's... I mean, he's just going to admit to murder, right? Buddy, there's two responses that I could give you. There's a responsible one. and then there's the one that I might employ, which is not get him to admit it and just kill him anyways. That's why we're going to go to Logrin. Because he'll figure that out. One moment. Oh, okay. But if he did take that dagger, that's almost like a smoking gun on him. There's pretty. of him at least taking something from a known murder victim. Right. I'm advancing the tournament bracket. Making sure I got everything.
Those hands are real busy below the camera. I can see what they're going. It's getting back. Just got real quiet. They keep doing what you're doing. It's part of it. Yeah, keep going. Yeah, we hear cranking noises and jackhammer. We hear cranking and jacking. That was pretty good. We have six participants left actually now. So, but they're not dead, right? Just to be clear. Because that's, that's no, So, Camira is like, I get to call the match. Nobody dies. Like, he doesn't want anyone to die. Yeah. Well, this was to the death. This was specified to the death. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But that was his, that was his whole thing at the beginning is like, I don't want, I don't want aura to see death. Like, violence, cool. Okay. Meeting the shit of each other, fine. But like killing, that's why. That's why he's like in our contract. I get to call the match. So if he sees anyone about to die, he's like, that's it. You're out. It's over. We're done. So that's interesting. Okay. Because these guys. So the pitch to them was, we kill each other until there is a high lander. There is one left and they get all the power. Yeah. And that's still the thing.
It's just nobody dies. They just near to death. Interesting. Okay. Well, we got. We got to go back. We got to go back. We got to go back. No, no, no. I mean, they're not pressed. They're just beat to shit. That's all. So, Hapstick versus Johnny Two Teeth. Sister Melancholia, the sorrow bringer. I love it. Versus Petunia Danger Hug. And Rex can't die. My money's on Petunia. Danger hug. That's a dark horse. Versus the beige meteor. Oh, no. I split my bet. I spit my bet. So I want to know how each of these nicknames got. We don't have the time for it. But we don't have the time for it.
But there's, I could post it somewhere. I don't think you should. I'm not doing. Dumb effort into things that don't matter. So every one of these people has something to prove. And they want what you have. Like they are. they're here for it, right? So first four matches are, are done with. And Nithyr and Vetti are going to come down the stairs. And I imagine Logrin's just kind of standing by. I don't think you're enjoying it. You're just kind of hanging out, like probably near the sidelines. He kind of looks like the bouncer, really. Like he's like standing by the staircase. shield next to him, arms folded as much as he can in this armor.
So like, you ever had to try to fold your arms in a really heavy coat? You just kind of have to like tuck them against your chest. That's kind of where he's at, you know. So he just looks over and he goes, oh, I'm going to be honest, but he probably shouldn't be here for this. Yeah, what the hell is happening? Johnny, two teeth is now Johnny, no teeth. Johnny did just lose to half dick. So you're right. Is this, sorry, I'm going to ask out a character to address. Is this the same haptic that was a paladin? Yes. Yes. Interesting. Quick. Quick, just aside. This means nothing.
It doesn't matter. But he's been so relentlessly mocked that he entered this tournament just to like get some bragging rights, right? If I could beat up local thugs and I don't even really think he wants the power, But he wants, like, he's just kind of wind of it and just hurried along to be like, ooh, ooh. That's like, oh, this is my chance to prove myself. It's a nickname you probably want to ditch as quickly as possible. And yet he wrote it on the form, right? So he's just like, fine, I'm Johnny. Half-dick. I think. With the brownie face. Yeah. He's like, yeah, I'm Barnaby Grum.
Who? They're like, oh, I know you. Like it's right. Exactly. Like it's like. I don't recognize that. Yeah. All right. So Loggren's got him picked out as somebody we want to talk to after all this is over. So I'm glad this isn't all to the death. But yeah, so he'll look at night there and be like, listen, it's complicated and it's really ugly. But. Why is the chimera officiating? Oh, because he's collecting all their souls. Sorry. And he says it quieter. He's collecting all of their souls. Oh. Betty's eyes are going to go wide when you say that. I'm going to cover her eyes.
Just screaming and punching. Teeth scatter, too. Specifically. And I think she's short enough that Nathir could do that mom thing where she wraps her arm around where her eyes are and like tucks her in. Like right here holds her close. Like, okay. Well, I guess I'll go take Vetti somewhere. Where's Chet and Vaz? Set them looking for Ruby. Oh. Do you need me here? I mean, at this moment, how many rounds have passed? We're on to round six. There's the sixth fight is about to take place. It is they're relatively fast. It's just fights. essentially. They're not a murder each other.
Yeah. Yeah. So he's like, he kind of glances over. And he's like, they're wearing themselves out pretty quick. We can, uh, tell you what, if you go fine, if you go catch up with them, we'll catch up with you. Okay. With one hand that isn't holding vetties, covering her eyes and tucking her head in, so she can't really hear anything either. Um, oh, I think I found the murderer holds out the journal. Oh. He just kind of looks at it like he's not going to, he's not going to read the journal right now. He's like, well, that's good. Is that good? She's going to get like a smirk.
Well, I just have a big I told you so to all of you. But we'll get into that later, yes. now he looks at the journal again because now he kind of wants to read it but he doesn't um right we'll see you back at the place oh I probably and then she's going to look at the as she goes to talk it away she's like okay well uh just be careful if you run into silver fox okay bye insight check you know face um because he does that figure he goes to open his mouth I'll have to answer back, but then just squint his eyes really hard. Like, what does that mean?
Yeah. Skills. Insight. Cool. Cool and good. Nine. He doesn't know what she means. She's like, all right. Probably not good. Guy sucks anyway. Fine. Vennie is continually trying to ask. Because the last thing she got to see her here is people beating the living shit out of each other. And it's like, oh, yeah, Kimer is going to harvest all these souls. It's like, what? And then just headlock into it. Because it feels to her, it's like, yeah, we got to be really careful about that. And then just a cocaine-fueled rampage while she was away. Like, this is a lot. Like, this is a lot a lot.
Like things did get out of hand unilaterally. Like a very short-old. Like a pretty mercury part. a lot. Like, you know what I mean? Like... There's a lot of murder happening from 9th year and not being around. Like... Right? So in between rounds, right? The loser of each one's going to be like helped out of the makeshift, shitty little ring they got going. And every time they go past, um, uh, Or is kind of like lifting up one of their hands to like touch you. And every time they do, like you can see like a transfer happen like stuff. Like you are like you're getting juiced up as this happens.
Each and every fight that's going by. Now, to be clear. The last time you got a soul, right? It was Jesse. And it was this overwhelming, you know, experience. And there's power involved. And there's like, this is. that times, you know, eight or nine. This is insane. I'll kill you, Jasper. I, I, I, I, I, I'm being baited in the check. I'm just trolling him. I'm just trolling him. I'm just trolling it. I'm pretty sure it was Austin. So. There's a part of you that has to like maintain, like contain yourself, right? You're just like you're like you can feel this. It's okay, you're a spellcaster.
Imagine waking up one day and you can feel within you. It's like I could burn this whole building down and live and be fine. And you don't necessarily want to. It's a call of the void type of thing. Right. It's like you're standing on the edge and looking down. It's like I could kill everyone of this building and walk. walk out and I would be fine. And it's this horrible, not even an urge. It's just a realization. And there's an immense power that comes with that. It's like I, no one here could stop me if I wanted to. And you catch yourself thinking like that.
No, hold on. Wow. That's fucked up. Like, all of this is actually really fucked up. There's kind of a little bit of a come to Jesus moment where you're looking around. It's like, hmm. and you have never felt cold off happier with you. Like, this is the best your relationship's ever been. This is you vacationing in Cabo for like two weeks. It's just phones off the hook where it can't get a hold of you. You guys are on the beach. It's nice. Coconut drinks, little umbrellas. It's beautiful. Meanwhile, smash cut, dingy, bar. are people beating the shit at each other and like every couple of minutes.
Just like, it's like an assembly line of souls going into you. I need you to give me a wisdom saving through a please. Oh, boy. Okay. Hey, folks, Jasper here. Sorry to interrupt everything. Listen, we want to connect with you. If you like what we do here, please consider joining our community on our Discord server. Links to our Discord and Patreon in the show description. Now, just a couple of words from our sponsors, and then back to the show. Don't stare into the void. Okay, few. 23. Last time. So that's the... Yeah. To Kimira and there was wisdom saving throws involved. It didn't go great. So... The... Yeah. Yeah. So far, things are going well. I think that's kind of the moment where you snap out of. It's like, oh, man. Is this too far? Like, you know what I mean? Like, you just kind of like thinking about it. Yeah. Yeah. And I think that manifests in like... he's getting those feelings and it's like with every round like the voice you know his announcing gets louder it gets gets more exciting he's like showing off magic yeah and stuff like that and he's like sucking this stuff up and like there's a cacophony of sound and we're like cutting to all this like punch it punches and kicks and like throwing in chimeras just like like you know loving it and spinning around and really like feeling alive and then I think he sees like he gets one of these souls and he sees aura like down there and like all the sound kind of just like drops out and it's like oh you can't this is you can't undo this this is undoable now um but this is what has to happen for a lot of for a big reason like not becoming a werewolf one for one.
So he just kind of like keeps the show going. And I think he clocks night there coming down too, but I don't think he he ever interacts with her. Like he's in a you don't, you don't shine a light on a assassin. Yeah, and she's in and out. So. Yeah. It's a little bit one of those things too where I don't know if you guys are like this. If I'm doing something enjoyable, a party or whatever, and there's one person in the room who is not having fun, I can't have as much fun. Like, it's just not as much fun if not everybody's on board. And if that person is a four and a half foot stone clad dwarf, just looming in the corner of the room.
Yeah. Just like, and I don't think he's, he's obviously not like taking down the complete mood, but he is absolutely just like an anchor of negative space compared to all the other electricity that's going on in the room. 100%. Yeah. And I think, I think Kimiro wouldn't, like, wouldn't care if it was anybody else. But Lagerin. Like, Kimera has fun. He makes the fun in the room. But seeing Lagerin upset is like, oh, dang it. That sucks. It's like if you can look at the hangover, you're going to get as you're drinking. Yeah. Yeah. He's like, he's thinking he's like, oh, I'm going to get a chat talk on Ty.
God damn it. It's also probably easy to forget he's there because he has not. Since Night Thera came down and went back up, he hasn't moved. He's just standing there. So, okay. Let's catch up with Ruby. Let's jump back on the other side of town. Because after a couple of hours of working on this car, like, it's getting to the point now where, you know, sun's going down. It's almost the end of the 22nd. It has been a lot today has been, you know. And Baz and Chet will end up finding you. And Chet's, I imagine like you're, you'd like head down, just like cranking something.
I could put that better. Head down, I don't know, I'm just a twisting something. What? Wrenching. Renshing. Sure. Verbing. Engineering. She's gadgeting. Yeah. Engadgeting. Yeah. Yeah. You get it. So just going to kind of wander up. How's it going? Is this? So I'd kind of like for this to be one of those. She's on her back underneath. You know, and she has to sort of wheel out. one of those moments. Um, oh, hey, Captain Creeper. She'll, she'll, you know, whatever, whatever rag, she'll sort of make sure she doesn't have oil in our hands or whatever it is. She'll sit up.
Oh, this right here? Oh, it's just, it's nothing. It's just, I call her the gear heart. It's just a carriage. It doesn't have a horse. I'll show how it works. another time, but don't touch it. That is the only thing he wants to do now. I gave you a parameter. And that is, it's a kind of a lot of touch. She says it slightly threatening, but if he pushed it, if he acted like, well, then I might, well, I might as well just touch it. She'll literally, you may not have a hand when you, when after you, you, you pull back. So just be careful. What does it do? Well, okay, so she'll, she's going to be standing up.
She's putting, again, she has like a canvas toolbox type, roll it up type stuff. She's putting all of her wrenches back. And she's been, she's, she's cleaning up. And as she's doing it, she's kind of giving him a little bit of a tour. She'll take him up to the front and explain it. And she'll take, you know, a little bit back and just she'll weigh, arm wave a little bit. She's not trying to give any details. But she'll just say it's powered back here. It's kind of like it's just some energy that it helps making things move. And she'll kind of give him the quick tour.
She's pretty exhausted. So she's not going to go into her long, you know, hour long rant about it. But she'll, she'll show chat and Baz around basically. And like, yeah, go have a seat. No, that one's loggerns. Don't sit in that one. No. That one's no. Yeah. Yeah. Chet is absolutely over the bone. Like this is fucking cool. Like it's so he'll go into it's like, you made this? Well. Yeah, I guess I did. She's trying to own it a little bit because she wants to deflect it. I guess I did. I guess I did. That's pretty good. After a couple of weeks in the mountains, I guess. we have something to show for it.
It's kind of getting dusk, right? The lights are coming down, the sun's going down. They're sitting inside. She's going to go up to her panel that she made with all of these levers and stuff like that, with all these little labels all over it. She's going to flip one up and it's going to be, it's just going to say reading on the label next to it, and she's going to flip it. And as long as everything goes okay, there are going to be tubes. of copper and whatever that are sort of in the interior that are going to sort of light the inside up like it's a cash cab or whatever.
Maybe not like a reference. Yeah. It's going to light up. So he's going to ask you a thousand questions. Obviously, like how fast does it go? You know, like, can we take it out? Let's go. Like just the obvious teenage stuff of yeah. She'll match that for a number of things, right? It's quick as he asks a question, how fast is go about 10 miles an hour, whatever it is? She has all the answers. But whenever he starts getting into like, and then what's it like whenever it does this? What is it like? How does it handle in this kind of weather or whatever? Whenever she's not quite sure of the answer.
And especially whenever he gets to, can we take it out? She's going to get real solemn. And she's going to look over at Baz. And she's going to just with her, with her eyes, get Baz to pick up the other end of the tarp. And she's going to cover it up. This doesn't go out with anybody but me. And it doesn't go out right now. I do believe there's the, oh, but why not going back and forth and everything, but eventually he'll relent. It's like, fine, fine, fine, fine. I'll take you out later though. It's going to be so, you're going to love it. It's so, so cool.
And actually, it's even better as of today. But that's, you know, that's another conversation. At a certain point, you're going to know as Baz is gone. Totally gone. Just gone. Like, just like, just like. And I need you to give me a. a perception trick. I don't like that. Wait, when you say gone, do you mean vanished? We just happen to look around and he's not there? Or he vanishes in the midst of us talking to him? No, no, no, no. You guys are talking, like, you're putting the tarp back on, and then he's just like, he's gone. I thought he was standing here.
It always feels like he's standing right here. And yeah, it's not going to take, ooh, woo. Oh, no. Oh, did I do a disadvantage? The strife. The strife. Got you. Oh, my God. That's right. You rolled two twos. Wow. So. Oh, shit. That's an eight total. So you're, the first thing you do is like, okay, follow the boot prints. Like, let's look around. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I want to cut over to Nitha and Vetti, please. Can you give me a survival check, Susan, please? Oh. I guess so. How about a 12? average. That's not bad. That's not bad. So it sounded like you wanted to go catch up with Ruby or are you out looking for?
Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So you are going to find Ruby. But you're going to notice like you're as you're rounding like the corner, you're going to see they're actively looking for something and you're going to notice. But. you have a better vantage point. And you're going to see that Baz is standing... Almost in the middle of the street looking up at something. Can I get a perception check from you? Yeah. I look up. 12. It's going to take you a couple of minutes. Right? And while you're looking up, Baz is going to start running. And he's going to start running. And he's going to... run inside.
And as you're kind of like panning up, you're going to see Silver Fox on the second floor balcony. And he has a crossbow aimed at Chet. Chet's a thrall, if you remember. And like, I guess that counts as a monster to him. So this is one of those telltale games. what do you want to do here's you know yeah yeah okay I'm torn between two things that's usually how goes yeah and I'm open to a group thought on this Let's get it going yes please let's talk about it I can't get my cross or I can't get my bow and arrow out quick enough but I could whip a dagger at Silver Fox or I can run and tackle Chet Both Both So it's an attack roll or like an athletics check?
I sure sounds like a pickle you're in. I mean, yeah, because if it was decks, I'd go for the attack or run it running quickly over, but athletics, no, that's like a negative one. But if it was tech, that's plus five. I don't even want to think about Elven knees. Oh, my God. Hey, I would argue, but not right now, but I would argue running is decks because I'm fast, but I'm not strong. But, uh, anywho, I guess I will... If we look up the rules of the game, but... But I guess Nike Zero will attack. But that doesn't stop him from shooting a crossbowel. Well, you could.
I mean, by the rules of... the game you could shout to chat as a free action and then make an attack okay or to ruby or to ruby i mean i could just shout or just scream just only one of us can hear you though so okay so to paint a better picture picture picture a building and then on the right hand side of it You've got Ruby. Check. Across the street to the south here. You've got you and Vetti. And then you have Baz running into the building to try and, you know, that, like, he kind of did math and is like, there is no way I'm going to be able to get to that second floor balcony unless I go upstairs.
Like, just not going to have them. Go to throw a dagger and spring again? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So you have like, like, Three or four seconds. What do you say? As you're throwing this dagger? Chet. Okay. Let's start there. Okay. Good. I love it. Love, love it. It's direct to the point. Um, next word. Sounds like. Okay. I guess just the classic chat look out. I mean, I know I know I should be specific, but I only have moments or Nithere only has moments. The other thing is. Or chat get down. There we go. Check it down. If someone shouted to me across the street, I didn't know they were there.
It's like, chasing it down. I would like to think I would just duck immediately. I know I wouldn't. I would look for the source of the sound first. So I'm going to have him roll of wisdom saving throw. I will throw in there. It depends on who's saying that to you. Someone who is known to murder people. So with that in mind, let me throw one more thing in. This does not have to be the way it is. This is Susan. This is your call. Knowing that Nithera and Ruby have been together for a very long time and have had short hand and have done hundreds of whatever's, you know, these little adventures together, there's a chance that you could say something to Ruby to either to either get chet down or to protect. him or to get in the way or to just drop to the ground in a way that if she heard you say it, she wouldn't turn to be like, oh, hey, she would just do it as part of the training that you've probably gone through.
Even with what Nythera said, Chet might be like who's talking? Yeah. Wouldn't Ruby go? That's shit. Nysheera told Chet to get down. Whatever the circumstance, if she heard Nithera threaten something or yell something or make a comment. man. She would have been trained over years now to simply. So okay. Let's do that. It's just just a thought. Yeah. Yeah. No, no. I. I. So the double two for perception is kind of what I'm working off of. So here's what we're going to do. Right. It's not it's not that you don't know each other. It's just you're fried. Right. Yeah. Totally.
Here's what we're going to do. Give me one more perception check. Okay. We're going to give it just just one chance. I'm going to make it. I'm going to make it. Kim roll a wisdom saving throw. Still a disadvantage with strife, right? Yeah, it's going to. Yeah, yeah. It's going to auto do it. Better. That's not bad for disadvantage. 14. Yeah. Okay. So 14. Chet rolled a 6. Oh, sorry. So, chat's going to look for the source of the sound. It's like, it's yelling at me. Why? So looking over there and I think this boils down to Susan's role. So you're just whipping a dagger, right?
Yes. All right. No pressure. Okay. Let's do this. Oh no. Oh no. That's a three for a total of eight. I'm going to use fortunate, which allows me to re-roll an attack roll. Okay. Attack ability check or safe. Okay. Oh my God. That's a one. Wow. You have inspiration? I use it last. Last name. But I get to use whatever result I want. That's one of fortunate. thing. So I'm going to drop the one. Okay. Take a three. That's so. Oh, boy. So you're going to whip this dagger up there. And it's going to miss and hit the wall next to him. And I think I... Does that girl him? It's really loud next to him.
There's a real bad roll. You know what? I'm going to have him roll and attack here. just, oh, that's so much better. So 14 with his modifier is going to be a 19. So he will fire this bolt off. Ruby's going to get enough clearance to start to shove Chet. So instead of hitting him right in the chest, it's going to hit him shoulder. And he's going to kind of fall into the snow and slush here and kind of skid back. And Silverfox is going to look down at, like, like, kill her eyes at Nythera. And then just kind of Yeah, kind of, yeah, like a mutual, like, the fuck is your problem type of thing.
There's one more role. Oh, and I'm moving towards him. He's not getting away. How so? Like into the building? Uh, I will climb. Do you have a climb speed? You have like a second story work. I mean, I have acrobatics, 40. Isn't it my movement speed? No, it's, uh, it counts as difficult to rain. So it's twice you're like it, you know, every five feet is 10 feet. Okay. Well, I'm my movement. Wait, not 40, 30. So. Oh, Jesus Christ. Okay. Well, I was hoping Bass would, uh, get up there. He's, he's a little slower than that. So I genuinely think Silver Fox would just, so.
I genuinely think Silver Fox would just, just are climbing up onto the roof. And, like, if you want, we can have a good old fashioned rooftop chase. Yeah. Okay. Fuck this guy. Give me an athletics check, please. Why can't it ever be acrobatics? It will be soon. Because I got minus one. It just doesn't make sense for someone to be quick and dexterous, but can't be quick. Well, it's... I do. I totally understand where you're coming from. I mean, this is where we might make the case for an athletics check with a Dex mod type thing. If it's about the speed of time...
Oh, that is an advanced level-up thing. It is. Yeah, but like this is. So, okay, imagine you're walking up to the side of this building and you're free climbing it. That's much more a strength thing that it is a Dex thing, because you're shifting your entire. body weight up. You're trying to do it speedily. Now, once you get up on this roof, we could argue decks all night long. One, you're going to be jumping rooftop to rooftop. That's all decks. And then, you know what I mean? Like, I think there's a case to be made for angled roofs, like you sliding and doing elf shit, you know?
Like, if I could get up there first, I guess. You're, you're going to get up there. You're doing fine. So, okay, meanwhile, Ruby's tackled jet. Vetti is going to be running. Uh, if he's going to be running, uh, you're, you're going to get up there. You're, you're doing fine. So, so. Okay. Meanwhile, over to check. And there is a steaming crossbow bolt in Chet's shoulder. And he is screaming in agony. Like he is on fire. Like he feels like he's like, get out! Get out! Like he's trying to like claw at this thing. I mean, Ruby's instinct would be to actually get it out. as she did it once over making sure that this didn't look like it was going to be critical.
Give me a medicine check. Right. How good is your medicine? Well. Shit. Oh. Since you wrote double 18s. How's that? 21. She just wants to make sure whatever it is. She's going to be like this is a natural. This ain't normal. She's going to make sure. No. It's not cool. And then. she's just going to do her best. Hey, she's figured if it went in and can come out. Yes. I know. That's not how it works. Well, but that's how he would think about it. So you're going to know that there's some kind of poison or something at work, right? Something that would affect something.
Just not undead. But like, you know that Silver Fox knows enough to know what would hurt. And what, you know, trying to. He was trying to kill. So he's going to bleed a lot, but it's like, okay, we got to get the fucking bolt out. Like, that thing is still coated. It could be leaking from the shaft itself. Like, it could be injecting. I don't know. So like, you're going to pull this thing out. And as you pull it out, it is dripping some sort of green fluid. So you have spared him from some of that. Mm-hmm. His skin, where the bolt hole is, around it, you're going to see, like, embers.
Like it looks like it's burning. Like. Like. Yeah. No. He is in agony. Okay. She's going to immediately start looking around just to see if if there's going to be another bolt coming and assuming that she sees Silver Fox to get on the roof. Nythera is already climbing up. She's like, that's handled. Or it will be soon or at least for the moment. Sure. She's going to Again, with this medicine check, making sure that nothing is going to make it worse. She's going to, you two, come, come, check up. And she's going to help him up. And she's going to take him over to the gear heart.
And just get in here. And she's going to the tarp off right off of it. Get in, get in, get in, get in. She's going to get him inside so that they can, I don't know, stabilize him in some way. Make sure he's okay. Just get him on a seat. Oh, boy. So while you're... God. So, Vetti's helping him in and just like, kind of panicking. It's like, like, what just happened? What happened? What's happening? I don't know. You stay with him. I'm going to help find out. Okay. She's... You just want me to sit here and... What is this? No, it's anything to Fetti today. For a second, she's going to say, well, actually, no, wait, we can't.
She's going to stop herself. She's going to say, just stay with him, make sure he's okay. I'll be back in just a minute. This is just something we built. I'll tell you more about it later. Chet, explain the gear heart. As he's screaming. She's trying to distract him. And they're just to just something. Just tell her all about the game. Gearhart. Letty. Stay here. I'll be back in a minute. I promise. Don't leave. Let's come back to the bar. So the final match of the evening is actually a threesome. Right? It's, it's, I don't know what they call it. I don't know. Look.
No, no. You're right. Yeah. Okay. Cool. All right. Good. You don't have to back. It's not to the death. It's got to be for something. I don't know. So. That was part of the contract. We all agreed that that was the final match. Yeah. The beige meteor versus danger hug versus half dick. Now, it's weird that you know all of the nickname I had in high school, though. This is really getting really, really embarrassing for me. I'm not being trolled. I don't understand. It's for the Austin thing. As this fight gets underway, ORA is right next to chimera. And just kind of beside herself, like, kind of fidgeting.
How are you feeling? Is this, is this? I mean, this could not have gone better. No one even had to die. This is great. I know. You know, for this kind of starting off, a... chaotic mess, it kind of worked out. But, um, you know, that's, uh, that's what I do. And that's what you do too, apparently. Yeah, uh, well, about that. I don't think Loggerne's too happy with me right now. Oh. Well, I think we share that in common. It's just from this. He has not uncrossed his arms for two hours for two hours. and he's wearing stone. That is commitment. Yeah, I can feel his gaze burning in the back of my head.
And, Orah, can I tell you a little secret? Of course. You found something that you're good at. That you're great at. Don't ever Let anyone make you feel bad about that Hmm Do you may a persuasion check please? I want to see how well this lands That's definitely the lesson she's taken away Uh Uh... But the loggerin thing's got some seeds of doubt planted. Yeah. Yeah. There we go. Oh, come on. Well, 18. That kind of, it's, that's what I was saying earlier. I'm not good at a lot of stuff. It sure as hell isn't fighting. And she's kind of like, kind of point to her arm where there's still like a scar there from, you know, like, it fucking ruined my jacket, by the way.
I'm more mad at that than I am the, the scar. But like, I... I find something I'm good at. And I'm using it for good. And he's pissed at me. He's pissed at me like I'm jet. I know. Like I'm jet. I know. I know. Logrin. Logrin is looking out for you. And he wouldn't be pissed. if he didn't care. That's true. And you know what? Two things can be true. It can be day over here and night on the other side of the place of our planet. Two things can be true. Logrin can care about you and be mad, and you can be good, really good at something. Just remember that. Remember that. he cares.
But don't ever feel bad about it. Read about that time. I want myself, Ian and Jameson, to roll at E20. And whoever rolls highest is going to win this tournament. I need one of you to pick a fighter. There's half dick, danger hug, and the beige meteor. I'm going with beige meteor. I'll take half dick only because Loggerin's been like staring at him the whole time anyway because like first of all, how did he get in here? Second of all, we need to talk to him. So he's been like, man, I hope he's supposed. Yeah. Yeah. It's like suddenly there's a cop in our fight club.
Yeah. Was he with the roaming gang of hoodlums? No. No, he was not. So the backstreet of that is he was probably, he heard that there was a gang of hoodlums running around and he was going to try and take them down. And then that became, well, fighting them one at a time is probably smarter than, you know. And he's probably relieved when it's like, it's not to the death. It's like, oh, thank God. He doesn't even know about this whole thing. He's just here. for a good time. Just sign this. Okay. Well, I've got danger hug then. So let's roll a D20 and see. I'm going to...
Ooh, I got a seven. I got an eight. Get a ten. James has a got a ten. They're all terrible. It's our winner. How's he do it? Jesus. I genuinely think. that in the group of palinence he's in. He's not a great fighter. But to regular doofuses off the street, he's probably better than average. So they're making stupid mistakes that like, he's like, you're not even keeping your hands up. And he's able to get some ring outs or, you know, something like that. He doesn't want to kill anybody. But danger hugging meteor, fall and ORA runs over and is kind of getting ushering them over.
It's like, oh, yeah, let's hear for them. And it's like, touch chimera. Like, just trying, you know, what I mean? Yeah. In chimera's head, you're going to feel Colgoth, like, there's kind of a jitteriness there. And like he's so giddy. And he's, like, and he's, baby boy. I need a favor from you Another one No no no no no This is small We need to make a trip after this A trip to where? Somewhere in the city I need it to be you and me alone. Okay. Do I get any more details? Are you keeping this all a secret? There's something stashed away. And we didn't need until now.
And those last two hands are going to touch you and like, you're going to feel like his breath catch. Mm-hmm. Can I get a wish? With Disadvantage, please. This is specifically with the two losers, right? This is Dangerhug and the Meteor? That this conversation is happening during? Yes. Yeah, okay. Because while that's happening, Logren is going to go to half-dick and like exempt him from this process. Is it really good out of here? You're like, hey, you did it. You get to come with me instead of going over there. He is exhausted and probably a little black and blue and just like kind of punch drunk.
I was like, I thought there's a prize. Yep, you get it. To date with me, let's go. He's confused, but he just got, okay. Yeah, no, it's the better option. It doesn't feel like it is. Let's go. Where are you taking him? upstairs That's okay upstairs Or is going to notice that And is going to get pissed And is going to start to wade through the crowd To get to the stairs to follow you But there's a lot of like raucous Okay Okay Okay cool I mean Well he's the winner So he's the winner so if he wants to this chicken dinner. I guess he's going to. Yeah. There's some shenanigans going on.
Yeah. So if Logrin gets to him first, Camarro, just kind of be like, okay. And he'll sort of like. I kind of think. I kind of think like that whole internal thing going on with Colgolf is happening while you know what I mean. You get those two last souls and like Logren steps in and grabs. So. before you can, like, give me that wisdom saving throw with disadvantage real quick. Thank you. That's what we were doing. Yes. I remembered we were doing something. We're doing stuff. With disadvantage. You got it. Disadvantage. That's going to be one shy of what we need.
Okay. Hold on. So hold on. So hold on. Okay. So it feels like Cole got. was partway through explaining what is going on. And you're going to feel this overwhelming sense of power. And it's the same, the same bit you were feeling earlier. But there's a distinct taste to it. When you were outside the front gates of Estherhold and that were wolf attacked you, and he kind of stepped in and the kind of sealed you up at the character. purpose thing and you're kind of more demonic than usual. It's that feeling. Tenfold. You're going to get taller. Your bones are going to kind of creak and and snap.
Your horns are going to elongate and kind of swoop to the back of your head. There's almost this flaming crown, this heat dissipating from the top of your head. And you're going to have this unbelievable urge to kill everything in your immediate vicinity. And we're talking with your bare hands. Like, just picking somebody up and just crutch it, because there is such... There's just such an... A reckless abandon within you to prove how strong you are, to prove that you are to prove that Nothing could stop you. It is a high you've never experienced before.
And what I need you to do right this minute. We need you to roll to resist just straight up killing me. Okay. Okay. What am I rolling? What am I rolling? What am I rolling? So, okay. Um, make an argument for me. Give me something to work with. Because this is you losing yourself to this power. This is you becoming a passenger. Colgoth's not even in control. That's how bad this is. This is him filling the pool up and filling the pool up and this is the pool splitting open. Like not realizing it's like, oh shit. Like I, you know what I mean? This is too much, too fast.
Too Fast, too furious. Tokyo Dr. Okay. Okay. Well, I think who's down here with me? That's important. All the losers. Okay. Aura. So, ORA has made her way to the stairs and is climbing up following. it's honestly kind of perfect. Like I didn't, you know, didn't plan for this. But Logren has taken heftic upstairs and Orra's pissed off because it's like, hey, that's our fucking winner. What do you do? Like, she thinks he's just trying to kind of fuck with the proceedings, like trying to sabotage stuff. So she's following him to kind of have words. Meanwhile, you have just.
Yeah. Like it is, yeah. Okay. You are so. hot right now you would burn to the touch. Like, there is a wave of heat radiating off of you. Like, the losers are going to start, you know, and here's the, here's the thing. Not everybody here. But some of them are going to be pissed off that there was no winner. No one was, no one got power. So it's like you're a fucking liar. You're just using us to get. And they're going to see you become bigger and stronger. There's a physical, immediate change. in your presence. And you, this is like, Kimir-on-Bain Venom. Like, you're double the size, like, huge.
And those deep black eyes with the pinprick of light behind them, somewhere deep, where an iris should be, just unfeeling, uncaaring. You are not within your body. You are somewhere in the back. And this is the moment where you either become a complete passenger, or wrestle this back. Okay. Well, I think with his with his last, with that last bit of himself, I think he's going to growl in a voice unrecognizable. As ORA's like going up the stairs. Like, ORA, Bar the door. door. And if I have to, if you want me to give you an argument, I think. I would love an argument.
It's argue. I mean, I think. It would be charisma to roll. To hold on to the point. part of himself that is in control. Okay. Can I get a charisma with this advantage, please? Why do I have disadvantage? It's a bit of stress going on, man. Like, this is, this is like, you know, like... Mm-hmm. Okay. Yeah, it's a lot. Okay. I hear you. I hear you. Like, you're drinking from a fire hose right now. It's like, but I want to look cool. Like, you know what I mean? Like, it's... Yeah. Okay. Here we go. It's gonna be... Not great. Very average. As Or's going up the stairs, that's one of the last things she hears.
Does not recognize that voice and it starts to freak her out. Like... Oh, fuck. Because the very next thing... Is someone is going to snap a pool cue? over the back of your neck. And you don't move at all. They are now of the opinion that you have scammed them. That you're a fancy talking guy who used this little ruse to get all of their souls. And now, like, the winner, quote unquote, has been taken away. So maybe that's the only one who, you know, so one of these people snaps this rate of the back of your neck. And without missing a beat, you are going to turn around, grab this person by the neck, take the broken piece of Bull Q, and just start slowly pushing it through their stomach, letting go of their neck, and holding them up.
As they kind of like rotate around this thing, like you have enough strength to physically hold that up and look at the room. And there are going to be people freaking the fuck out. Some of them are going to attack you. Some of them are going to try to run. And that's as, you know, we're hearing all this, she's going to fall on the other side of that door and start barricading it with things. As fists start pounding on the other side of it. And there's, there are people with weapons. There are people who are going to use magic against you. And you are going to one by one eviscerate. these people.
Tear them limb from limb. How far from the door is Logrin and Halfdick? You are... She was right behind you anyway. So like 15 feet. You're still there. So he can hear people pounding at the door. I would imagine, yeah. He's going to turn around and he's going to say, or get out of the way. He told me the very key to the door. Like, she's almost in tears. Like, this is out of hand, and you know it. Get out of the way. There's a moment when you see in her eyes. It's like, this is fucked. This is all fucked up. This is not how this was supposed to be. And she's going to, there's like a bar over it to kind of keep people out, not in.
And like she's going to slide that and open it and like three people are just going to fall up the stairs and you can hear violence downstairs. You're going to hear sounds that you're very familiar with, you know, punching, stabing, kicking, uh, things breaking, and you're going to hear squish here sounds, liquid, sloshing, uh, you're going to hear bones break. You're going to hear... You're going... you're going to... you're going to... you... Your mind is probably conjuring 80% of what's going on, but the... 20% left is like, Jesus. Like, what the fuck?
So when the door gets, like, is there any left when the door gets opened? Like, do people come around? Like, yeah, they're fine. Okay, yeah. Yeah, they got out when they saw what they saw. They're like, there's a couple of people who got caught are down there. Okay. Yeah, so if we're doing the math, you pulled out, heftic, that leaves nine, three got up, so six are down there. All right, so Lagerin looks at Oren and he says, find everybody at the end. And he's going to pick up his shield and go down the stairs and close the door behind him. She's... You can see, like, the moment in your eyes, it's like, fuck, you were right.
This is... And this is... And... She's... trying to find some combination of words. That it's... I can help. That's as much as she gets out. Yeah, he doesn't wait for it. The door's closed by the time she finds the words. There's probably a strong couple of seconds where she thinks about joining you, but like just... She's so totally ashamed in this moment that she... She starts booking it back to that. She's trying to find anyone else. Meanwhile, there's a rooftop chase going on. Sorry, I need a drink of some. I need vodka. Oh, my God. As Nythira gets to the top of the roof here, looks around and is going to see Thane, The Silver Fox already getting to the next.
So he is athletic, but not dexteritous. Dexterous. Dexterous. Thank you. Exteritus? I ruined it. That's his middle name. I'd lost them forever. So you're the opposite in that you're going to be able to shave off time getting. So I need you to give me an acrobatics check. Please. Okay. And I am dashing. So I'll be a dash. Yeah. Go for it. You're fine. So add an expertise to it. How far away is he first? He got a decent head start. So if you picture him, he's getting ready to jump. So he'll be like, he's a couple of roofs away from you, but these are small buildings. So if you, he's like 90 feet away.
Okay. The reason why I'm asking is, because I have cutting action, which I could trade down to a bonus action. So I still have my main action. If I get within range, I would like to attack him while running after him. I imagine that was the goal. Yeah. So don't worry about the footage, right? Let's do a little skill check challenge versus. Okay. Okay. For everyone you roll, I'm going to roll as thing. And if you get within striking distance, fucking go for it. Okay. Okay. Oh, shit. Yes. 21. Oh, that's not great. Okay. 19 plus two. He's not trained. He's way better than minus one.
Oh, God. He wrote a 13. So already, it did take you longer to get up top. But you're going to be able to see this. This, this. It's like, okay, I can slide down this. I can slide down this roof and that you're going to be able to see ice snow in a different way than him. He's looking to not fall. You're looking to shave precious seconds off. So you're already closing the gap. You're within like 60 feet of him. Can I get another one, please? Yes. Oh, I forgot expertise, but whatever. You might need it. I don't know. I got a 19. Give yourself that expertise day. Okay.
Three. Oh, my God. So he wrote a 19, you wrote an 18, like it is, it is neck and neck. You're going to watch him like on the run, kind of fumbling, but trying to load another crossbow bowl. Would you like to try and make an attack at him? Ah, yes. Okay, go for it. Beating something, though. Ah. Okay, I'm gonna attack. I'm gonna attack. I'm gonna throw my second. I have a free dagger. Madam. Because the other ones are attached to me. Can I use cutting action to make a bonus action to aim? Go for it. Okay. So this is you kind of sacrificing, like, you'll take a stance.
Like you're stopping for a second just to get. Like, it's like, yeah, he's getting distance, but you want this to be. Go for it. Because with aim, I get advantage, which gives me sneak attack, which gives me Carver. God. Yeah. Okay. Oh, God. I needed that advantage. Oh, we'll drop a three to take. like a 17, 22 will hit for 13 damage. You're gonna hit him square in the back, like right between the shoulder blades. And his feet are going to slip out from under him. And he is going to fall down a sheer roof. And he is going to slide off and disappear. And you're just going to hear crash as it tumbles through someone's house.
Like he has fallen completely through. Meanwhile, back at the tavern. Lagerness going to come clomping down these stairs. Is it quick? How are you approaching this? His only goal is to be a wall between Camara and the rest of everybody, basically. Camarra, can I get attack roll from you? Just like a regular... Just like, let's get a... Let's get a... Just any attack. Whatever your base. You know, me-lay. Like, let's see where... How productive you've been, I guess. Yeah. Please don't create. Give me one sec. Oh, yeah. One would be amazing. One would be great. One would be great.
Sorry, I don't really attack with anything. Very often, so... So... Oh, God, 15. Jesus, you rolled a 5 and got a 15. at this point, there are probably two people out of the six left alive. And they are scathed. They, um, and they're probably backing up. And this doesn't even look. Like, there's some semblance of chimera physically. Like, there, it's just, not him. Kind of dressed like him, but it is, there is nothing behind those eyes. No joy, no, nothing. And he is slowly stomping across the room to get to the last two who are probably missing fingers or something like that.
They are already screaming in pain. And you're squaring up. Yeah, he gets down the bottom of the stairs. And I'm going to go ahead and assume that he's stalking towards people that are more than 15 feet away from me. So I can't get to them. Don't worry about footage. Don't worry about footage. I just told Susan that, and she's way faster. So my point being is that rather than try to get, like to rush to get in between him and them, he's going to try to get Kemer to come to him. So he will get to the bottom of the stairs. He'll see this. He will plant his tower shield.
And he will rack his shotgun over the groove in the top. And he'll make sure like, boom, boom, boom, Camara. But you time you and me and Colgoth had a talk. I think it's a great time for us to stop for the night, guys. Let's wrap it up there. Are we okay? We're okay. We're going somewhere with this? I appreciate you checking in. I trust you, though. I want to send you some messages. It's going to be good stuff. I want messages. Well, I'm not sure I want them. how you doing? You're thinking about you. Wow, that was crazy. That was nightmare for all. I'm so looking forward to the fallout from this.
Yeah. Oh, my God. It's going to be fun to do. I mean, there's a lot. Yeah, man. There's a lot. There's so little option now for, and I think the holdouts for Colgoth are in the room right now. And it's all falling apart. Yeah. Wow. If all eight of us survive this, including four kids, I think that we're going to have to have a session of all eight of us in our room. Just everybody just airing it out. Yeah. It's going to be great. Looking forward to it. I'm exhausted. This is great. Oh, man. Where's the calendar? We're playing Sunday, right? 14. We are playing Sunday.
It's not happening fast enough for you. What are you doing tomorrow? What do you do tomorrow morning? Everybody get a quick two-hour nap. Let's get back. Cup of coffee.
