Let's do that thing. Where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm the dungeon master guy. Holy shit. I'm the dungeon master guy. I'm that guy. I'm that guy. That's the guy. I am. I'm a guy like me. Go around the table. Start with Jasper. Hey, everybody. I can't follow that. But I'm Jasper. He, him. I play Ruby Pedigrew, the half-org, Gerslinger, Adept. And Jameson. Hi, I'm Jameson. I play Logger and Craig. Lager and Craig, board. Oh, good. It's going on. No, I'm pushing through. He's a Dwarven Marshall. No. No, no. There's a lot of. Oh. Sure of. Shut up. I'm doing great.
That's like a lot. Thanks, buddy. And Susan. Hi, I'm Susan Spanator. My pronouncer, he her, and I play Nicthera Rilat, the Elven Assassin Roug. And last and never least, Ian. Hey, I'm Ian, he and he, and I. And I play the one that I'm playing, the guy I am, is Hyner, the Teapling Warlock. every once in a while, I try to fuck up so badly that there was behind the music on us later in life. It's like, yeah, you could tell us drug use got real. Like a clip from one of the... It's us sitting down for the next documentary. I'm a doctor. I'm just screaming into the void.
Like, I'm just screaming into the void. That was the might that I knew that it. had gotten bad. So our session was an intervention. Yeah. I was going to say, and then we did nothing. We just did nothing. It was funny. It was. We could have changed the outcome. We really could change the outcome. He just pared at the table for three hours. It was crazy. He said he stopped taking. He said he stopped taking the antidepressants because it messed with his personality. and he didn't want to lose his creativity. We said, right, you're right. Of course. Yes. Please. Um. Anywho.
So, the end of our last, the end of our last session, we had, uh, I just did sound effects for that today. We was just wrapping that up. And it came out wonderfully. But it sounded. sounds horrific when you add engine noise and the metal rending and all that stuff. So we are a good deal down the road, I would imagine. You're flooring it as far and as fast as you can get away from the body you just ran over. And don't let me put words in your mouth. If that's not what you want to do, then tell me. I just assume. We're still in the 24th of a motto. Only addendum is that we took some shots at it as we drove away, right?
Just to keep it down. I have a question. I've got a question. Did it die? It didn't move anymore. Stop moving. Because if it died and it was under my curse, which it was, we get a little doggy. So what? You want to spawn that? Yeah. Okay. So, okay. Two important questions. One. Do you know that you get a doggy? Does Kymera know? No. So the party, that was question two. Does the party know? Yes. We all know. It's a surprise. Happy birthday. So, okay, let's start things. This is the mood we seem to be. And let's just, let's not swim upstream against this. Let's let's, okay.
So you're going to run over this thing. You are just speeding down, you know, kind of sliding a little bit. The Gearhart's making some horrendous noises. There's a hole blasted head of the corner of the hood and front fender. There's, you know, raked holes where, like, the talon, the gauntlets were in there. The sword got plunged it. Like, it's a mess, right? I picture in the cab. It's Ruby driving. And Chimera's sort of passenger seat bound somewhere in there, but in the back, Rallying next to the moonroof, going back and forth, it was chimera. I'm sorry, it was Nythera and Logran.
So in the middle of you, I guess, there'd be sort of a red fog. So the order of events would be this thing's on your hood, blast at it, run over, run it over, and then barely three seconds, go by. before a form starts to take shape within the cab. So it is probably alarming. And it's got a, like, correlation would be. It's like, oh, it's doing something. Like, it's coming back, this rider. But it's going to start to take the shape of like, like, a big dog. like a mastiff, something like that. And it's... In parts, it's kind of skeletal. It's kind of... It's got these tiny little bat wings that wouldn't possibly lift it into the air, but it's got them on its back.
And it's just sitting proudly, like, very, like, you know, stock still. And... The body is what draws your eye to it right away, Because like, like, elbows and stuff like that would be, like, it's kind of got scales. And like, it's, it is this demon dog. But then the face, there's no snoot. There's no nothing. It is chimera's face, but in dog form. It is deeply unsettling. Totally. Like, like, everything about it was already kind of wrong. But then you get to the face. But it's sitting there. It's like, like, ha, ha, ha, ha. But it's just chimera panting. And you've seen that before.
I'm sure. In cities, most likely. So, yeah, but like it is just sitting there, not attacking, not doing anything. Just sitting there. Okay, Jason, I rolled a wisdom saving throw. I'm going to leave it up to you. It is a 12. Do you think Nythera would be able to stop herself in time from stabbing it? I like your instinct. It's probably facing chimera. So you might not, you might just see a threat. And with it 12, I think you'd stab. I think you'd just, I think instantly it's like, it's a dog now. Like you just, you know what I mean? You just jump into it. I don't know the rules yet.
But that's probably. not great. This thing like forms and it's like, we've got something else. Something else is coming and it's like, f-h-up. And then it's like this dog in Chimer's face and it's staring right at him. And he's like, huh. He's like looking at it and like getting close and it's just like, ha, ha, ha. He's like, I think it's okay. And then just like out of nowhere like knives forward. Stabbing in, like out through the face, like out through the neck and through the face. God. Oh, 25 hits. What? Hit points. Is there a stat block to look at? Is it more ethereal?
I think so. I think so because it is, I mean, it's a, it's a monster. So it's a, it's a demon dog is what it is. Just demon dog. Okay. It's straight up just a demon. It's just your garden variety demon dog. This is night theory attacking. I'd have an off hand too. Okay. I don't want to beat a dead horse, but Well, it's a dog. Yeah, so please. As far as she knows, it's a threat right now, and she can't see its face. So. You meet a death dog? Death dog. Yeah. Death dog. Demon dog might be its. It's next form. It's, yeah. Because if it has like a hundred hit points, that's not right.
No, no, no, no, no, no. So it's got like 32. So like, okay, we're going to, okay, hold off on the. So the first is going to hit, and that's 18 damage. Now, this thing, you're just going to like, boom, right through its back. And you're expecting it to yipe or something like this. And it's just me like, ow. Like it is a, it's just like a very, like, kind of chimera. Just kind of like generic NPC3. Like, oh. And it's like after you stab it, like you're going to pull back and there'll be kind of this like, kind of ghostly ethereal, inky red liquid kind of, but not bleeding.
I wouldn't say. And it's going to look back at you. Still panting. And it's just going to, it's definitely making eye contact. Like, not like a dog. Not like, oh, Pippin. Look at these dumb little eyes. No, it is chimera. But like, as if like, like, like, not even aggressive, just more like why. I think her left hand is already going in with the mind blade. And then she'll stop right before stabbing chimera's face. and almost like jerk back. Like, Kimer, what is this? I think it's here to help. Ruby hasn't. Ruby is like just gunning it and she's tunnel vision trying to get out of this thing.
And she's hearing all of this happen. She doesn't know what's going on. She's not going to turn around. She's barreling through whatever she can barrel through. What's going on? It's fine. I think this is a gift. I think it's a gift. No. It's. It's very handsome. Lankering is actively loading his shotgun. Should I have a good? Kimmer puts his hand up and he's like, hang on, wait. You wanted Colgoth to help and show that you can contribute? This is it? Is that what? Are you? What? This is contributing by putting a dog with your face in the middle of the car. Holy shit.
Are you kidding me? He's a helper. It could have been really useful in what just happened. And now it's here. After. Well, I guess. Yes. Do you have a name? Don't talk to him. Don't answer him. You're like to see the dog. Don't answer him. Don't it. Don't have. You two. Time out, both of you. As Logren's kind of like loading his shotgun, he'd look at him. Wolf. Loaf. Like, it doesn't have Camara's voice. It has just man voice. Kind of. Like, it's an uncanny valley thing. So it's not like, it's not even. Charming. Like, it's just got Kimmer's face. So it's, it's, it's, you know, so it's just, it's looking longer and right in the eyes and just like, he's like, he's like back to the corner with like the gun like this.
He's like, this isn't going to work for me. I got to tell you. Well, okay, the voice, the bark could use a little work. Maybe that's awful a little bit. But it really nailed a face. It's awful. It is awful. No, it didn't nail the face. It's not a dog face. Should I stab it? Should I stab it? No, don't stab it. Don't shoot it. Don't stab it. Can you get it to go away? Well, do we need it for anything right now? No. Ruby is actively trying to go faster. It's not happening, but you can tell the cheese. I'm pushing further into the steering wheel. Gearheart's rattling.
It's terrible. It's terrible. It's like a lawnmower inside. Longer's eyes are so wide because Camarra has had the exact opposite reaction to this horror, then he would have preferred. Imagine the worst thing happens, and you have one friend who's like, no, wait, let's see what happens next. Right. Like, it's like, wait, everything I thought I knew about you, I have to re contextualize now maybe. Right. Like, some things I thought were we were automatically on the same, side and now the horror is apparently not one of them. Yeah, Camero will go up to the dog and like he'll go up and like at first be a little bit unsure but he'll start like just petting it and like screeching it behind me.
It'll be slow, you know, like putting the hand out and like petting its head, not the face, not the face, steering clear of the face. But like, you know, petting it. and then like, like, slowly and then more, a little bit more, a little bit more, and then like kind of scratching it behind the ear and like giving it a little pet. It's going to start, it's going to start like doing the thumper thing with its back foot, but it's got these little talons. So like you can hear it scratch the interior. Who's a good boy? Who's a good boy? And it's like it's like rubbing, rubbing its face into your hand as you're, you know, assisting.
Just kind of like licking. But like, it's definitely kind of like, ah, like, you know. If I have a dream tonight when I go to bed that it touches on this at a hall, I'm coming for you. We just put like a hood or on it or a mask. Like everything else is okay. And as a hood, how's it going to see? It needs to help. That's what it's here for. Should I stop the car? Don't look back. Don't. I can't. You want to see our dog? Don't. It's not. Don't look. No. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Come here, I'll just the death dog and be like, you're a very good boy, you did a great job.
We'll meet you again later. We've got nothing for you to do right now. Thank you so much. And he's going to scretch him and dismiss him. So the second you dismiss him. His body is going to tear into. And he's just going to start going, Ha! Ha! Ha! Like a very human scream in pain and shock and just doesn't understand. And then he's just going to like disappear. Okay. That part needs work a little bit. I'm given. Camara. Eye contact with Logrin. Strong eye contact. It's shaking heads. James and I are doing. I think it's one of those things where you would cut to the exterior of the car and is just barreling down the world.
Just no line. It's free as the car hoves into and all the way through. And then there's like a time wipe where it's like the fade to black and then it's just hours later. And it's still just nice here and Lager just staring up and just face eyes wide. Like, like, it just happened. Then nobody's going to near the spot where this thing was. Yeah, yeah, yeah, like, all kind of moved around it. Can I, can I ask, is it that it's so weird and uncanny or is it? that you don't understand the rules yet. It could appear at any time. You know, you don't know how many times a day it might happen.
Like, is it that? And the face. And the face. The face. Yes, the face. I think it would be. I like the face. I think it would be one level of like this is unsettling if it was just a hellhound or whatever. But the fact that it has this very sharp, uncanny valley surrealness to it. I think just makes it like that is a thing of nightmares and I never want to experience it again. And then when it disappeared, it just left its mark even more. Like, okay, we can come to terms with the face on the dog. Okay. What's crazy is it doesn't have to do that, but it's just.
It's a choice. That's totally optional. Yeah. But it's no. It's fun. But then when it ripped apart and like, screamed and tear. Now that's embedded in our brains. So, yeah, I think eventually, like, Logger and will look at Camara and be like, do you understand what just happened? You need to tell me that you have a good understanding. And look at me. Don't bullshit me. Do you understand what just happened? What do you think a good name for it would be? That's not. Camara. It's been a shit day. Look at our car. What just happened? Okay, all everything aside. I think it's, I think it's Colgoth's trying to help.
He's sent us someone to, you asked for that, and that's what he did. He's contributing. I want to make it really clear that that is not what I asked for. You need to talk to him and get confirmation that that's what happened. Wow. Okay. but we should see how well that thing does. We have yet to... That's a good question. That's a very good question. I feel like that's the question. That's first question. Right. Why is that happen? Why? Second question. Why now? Maybe he thought we needed it. And maybe there was a delay. I don't know. summoning delay or something like that.
I don't know all the rules. There was one set of footprints. That was cool. And then he's carrying us with a horrifying dog. Logger is going to step over the, even if there's no mark where the dog was, he's going to step over that area and kind of do the thing where the person in the backseat like sticks his head up next to where the driver is. because he can't think about this right now. He's going to let me atherotactic camera. And he's just going to be like Ruby has a car doing. Pretty terrible. Pretty freaking terrible. She's just holding on almost for dear life onto the steering wheel.
Like it's rattling, I'm sure. It's parts of it are falling. Probably still falling off even. She looks pretty shaken up. Like, this is not. going to be okay. And it's not because she thinks, oh, no, my precious gear heart. It's more like, I hope it holds together for us to get where we need to go. Yeah, he's going to, he's going to like, because he can see how the window. He can see how ripped up the hood is. And then he can see how upset Ruby is. Because I feel like Loggerin can read that pretty well. And he's going to be like, all right, once you stop the car, we need to take a minute and assess.
You sure? I don't even know how long it's been. How long we've been going from that thing? How long have we been going from that thing? I know we just joked about it being like an hour later, but I don't know that that's necessarily true. Well, if the dog thing happened, all of that happened within a minute. Sure. So, like, it's only been, yeah. Did zone out for like at least a few minutes, probably. Yeah, I would say it's been like a half hour, let's say, total. Like, there's got to be that. It's like, we need to make sure we've gotten far enough down the road.
That's just, you know, yeah, that Ruby's motivation is just to get away from there. And somebody give her any instructions other than that. She's just going to keep going in a direction. That's not that direction. So if at this point, Logger and. I mean, if it's been a while, and we're clearly not in eye shot or this thing doesn't have a horse coming up on us or anything like that, she'll find a pretty good place to pull over. And not in the middle of the road, I think. She'd want to make sure that there's some place to get behind. There's a boulder, there's trees, there's something where she could sort of make it safe.
But when she does, she's going to. going to, she's been clenched, like, her, her, her, her, every bit of her, on the steering wheel. So she's going to pry her fingers off of the steering wheel. And the biggest breath out, like, she's letting it all go. And then she's going to start unbuckling herself and she's going to, if longer and still there, she's going to push him out of the way, basically, to get out, because she's got to go check out the gear heart. She wants to see what damage is done. Yeah. And Loggerns will follow, but as he's getting out, like, in my mind, Camera is the closest to, like, the back door.
So, like, on the way out, like, he'll put a hand in Cameras, she'll be like, seriously talk to him. I want to know what happened. I'm not going to. I'm not going to sleep until I know what happened. I'll find out. I'll give him a ring. Jason, I can't remember. I feel like in the last session that the gauntlet of this thing was still stuck in the hood. Yes. Oh. So if Ruby goes out and she's doing an assessment, she's just going to do an audit, like, God damn, that's gone. Okay. Well, that was, that was expensive. Okay. Well, that one took, I mean, that one's not.
Actually, that's probably, that may be better this way. She's doing calculations in her head, right? And she's going to see the gauntlet. As she's looking at everything else, she's just going to point at the gauntlet if Logren's out there with her. She's just going to point out at it while she's doing an assessment just to let him know that it's there. She's noticed it. I can't reach that. I got it. Well, actually, I'm not going to touch it. Hang on. She's going to look pretty close at it. She's not going to touch it. Logger will go find a stick that he's not going to touch it. you can use to like slide into the hole and like lift it off and like fling it down the way a little bit like roadkill.
Yeah, this thing's got weight to it. Like you can feel it as you're like kind of prying it out of there. One, it's stuck in real good, right? Because the town's kind of hooked under. So once you pry that away, it's going to, you're going to hear it kind of thud into the around and just kind of lay there. Like it's, you know, just. It doesn't do any weird like melt the snow or someone of a fucking demon dog again or crawl away. It doesn't. Yeah. Thanks. And just into the woods. No, no, no. It doesn't do anything like that. It just, I don't know. It's, it's, it's.
It's one of those things where you guys have been around the block enough to know. that's probably not a normal piece of armor. Like there's nothing good that could come from that, right? Like there's not one of you that's like, hey, I'm going to put the head on. Like, you know, Ruby will try to get chimera's attention though as she's looking. And again, she's multitasking right now. She's looking at everything. She's calculating. She's documenting. She's figuring out what she's already 10 steps ahead of how to fix something. and how to get rid of other things that need to be gotten rid of.
Hey, hot shot. We need your help out here. Take a look at that. Don't touch it. Take a look at it. What you think? Well, it looks heavy. It looks evil. Evil is shit. to give you any vibes? Yeah, can I have vibe check this thing? Yeah, give me some Arcana. That's how you vibe, Jack? Okay. Imagine more of a men talking, mind taker type. Oh, that's pretty good. 17. So, yeah, all your suspicions are immediately confirmed. It's like, oh, yeah, heavy and evil. Like, boom, right off the bat. Also, though, this thing, whatever, you know, wherever. it came from is definitely tied to those riders.
So each time they die and come back, they come back a little different. In whatever manner they were killed, they adapt. So they have been killed by other groups. And it doesn't matter if it's Patreon or whatever. they, if you burn them alive, they're going to come back fire retardant next time. If you, like, they just keep stacking these like every time they learn from it, right? But it takes a little while to come back. Yeah, car. This time, it'd probably be more bludgeoning. But like, yeah, running them over might not kill them next time. Like, it might, you know, it might just deter or slow them for a bit.
But the interesting thing is, you having this? That means it's going to come back without that hand next time. This armor is tied to that. So that is a weakness. Oh. Okay. However. Okay. It's going to want that hand back. So it's sort of like, just to clarify, because there's not like a hand in it, right? It's just a piece of armor. So it's sort of like there's a etherealness to them. There is a like a non-coporealness to them that is like because this is tied to them, they're sort of like this animates around whatever they are, right? Is that? Am I getting that kind of right?
It's, I guess, the easiest way. I guess the easiest way to think of it is that the armor is enchanted with that soul, right? Right. Whatever. So when you ran this thing over, a couple of seconds after that, there would be this big light and you'd see it hover over the body and then shoot off into the night sky. It gets reanimated somewhere else. And it takes a bit. But it's coming back. Gotcha. So, yeah, I think, like, chimeras is sort of like probing this for, you know, like what that is. And it's almost like a mini when he, like when he opened that box at the caravan.
It's almost like a miniature bit of that, like this information coming and him almost like living it and seeing it in flashes. And he's like, woo. It's like touching the one ring, you know. but like tiny version. That's like, whoa, oh, whoa. That's spicy. And he'll convey all that to everyone else. With the added thing of like, you know, we could take this. And it would not have this. It's going to want to have it back. But if there was a way to continually take these and maybe we could stop it from reanimating altogether. Also, I don't know how many of these there are.
We've just seen this one. Who knows? Well, we've seen two, but we don't know if... All this one is kind of like adding on to the story. And also, like, this and not that. Ruby's staring at Logren. And as soon as Lagrin, I think they're kind of, I would imagine, we're going to bury it, right? Yeah, so Logrin's like standing there with his arm's full. He's like, and then he finally notices we're re-staring at him. He's like, whoa. What? Like, mouse it. What? Burying it, right? Here, like now. Well, listen, the ground's frozen, so probably not. But I'm going to ask a question.
And it doesn't mean I think it's a good idea. I'm just asking a question. Okay. Nobody yell at me. What if we put it in the magic box? That makes it go away for a week. And then it's bigger or more powerful in a week? I'd say don't yell at me. I'm just saying. I wasn't yelling. It was just a question. You wanted to yell. Do I yell? Do I ever have to yell? That's true. It would be worse. I prefer it if you yelled. No, I mean, my question is just like what would happen, you know? It would be gone. So maybe it couldn't detect it for that week. But if we left it there for two, three, five, I don't know.
I'm just curious. I kind of want to know what would happen. That's a good question. Ruby's shaking her head. and just continuing on with the gear heart assessment. I mean, don't, aren't you like he's looking at Ruby? He's like, I wouldn't you be curious? Come on, that's a good question. That's a good question to ask. It's going to quadruple in size. It's going to have a hand that size. There's going to be a little voice in the back of chimera's mind. Kimera. Never uses your regular name. It's usually some. He calls you Peach Pit or Honey Bubbles or something.
Something like that's. Yes. Yes. Your friends hurt my feelings. Was it over the dog thing? That was you, right? Yes. Okay, good. That's part. I thought it looked handsome. I thought it did too. I loved it. Thank you. Oh well. I was trying to help before that and I felt quite rejected. Hmm. Tell me more. Tell me more. You should put that gauntlet on. I could. Let's see, we're having this whole thing about putting it in a box and having it bigger and or powerful. And I'm thinking maybe I should wait till that. Why would you do that? Oh, you don't think that's a good idea?
Oh, that kind of scares me. Okay, let me I don't do that. I mean, there's no bad idea. is in a brainstorm, but I feel like that should be talked out a little. Understood. Why? What does it do? Do you know? It doesn't seem like something I want to wear. It does look really cool, though. Well, it's tied to those riders, right? Hmm? You'd always know where they were. Hmm. They're not after us, are they? Because if we don't take this, then they won't need to come after us. I'm not sure how that works. You did technically assault it. And then you did run it over with the car.
Right. That's... Bound to happen. Okay. I think that's very helpful. I'll bring that up. Cogar, thank you. And also, just so I know for the future, because I know Lovern's going to ask me about this, how does the dog happen? How do I trigger that? Is it just random or? No. No, anytime you kill something, as long as it has a soul. Good to know. All right. I'll talk them out. I'll talk them into maybe keeping that gone that around. We'll see what we do. All right. You kind of sense of like a little vulnerability. Like just a little bit, right? Like, more than you. This is a different cold guy.
This is a weird different goal guy. He's trying. He's really trying. Like, like, okay, think of it this way. He's had just contact with you, basically, for the most part. Like, someone he's actually speaking with, right? And that would have been the first time he's kind of opened up and talked to this group. And he knew it. was going to be bad. Maybe actually having that happen was something that was like, just, you know what I mean? Like, it just, it just, yeah. Anyway, that's it. Um, well, everyone, I have good news. Uh, just spoke with Colga. Um, found out how the dog happens. for your piece of mine, Logrin.
But he was saying, if we take this, he can help us make sure that we always know where these riders are. So if they're going to come after us again, like what just happened, we can get out ahead of them. Didn't you also just say that they're going to come for the gloves? if we have it. So I feel like we don't need to know where they are. Because it's going to be where we are. Well, see, that's what I thought too, but I think they're looking for us anyway. I mean, that thing did just find us and try and stop us. We did shoot it last week. Exactly. And there's, so there's something else going on.
Maybe they're mad. whatever. But I think they're looking for us regardless of if we have this glove or not. I can't be 100% sure, but that's what we think. Lurin folds his arms again. If they have some way of tracking this glove, wouldn't it benefit us to not be where the glove is? If they're tracking, us too. They think we'd have the glove. You think they'd have something better to do. Hell if I'm going to take that thing and put it inside the gear heart. And if we didn't have it, they would go to where the glove is first. Thus not finding us. Well, they found us without. a glove.
It's what I'm saying. Well, he waited on a road that he knew we'd be coming back down. Did they know that they would be coming back down there? Maybe they don't have anything better to do. What? I guess he had one of two roads to choose from. Do we know what it is? What is it? It's a guy, is a demon. It's a, what is it? It's a ghost. I'm not sure what it is, but whatever it is, it's a soul. And it's like to this. Kind of, I guess. So it's... I'd say like a phantom. No matter what we ran over, it's going to come back. Anyway, so. Well, no, hang on a second. And he's like pacing a little bit back and forth, but he's slow.
So it's like four feet each direction. What happened with that first ghost, Ruby? What happened with your ghost? It kept it in one place by cutting its heart out. Yeah, it was stuck until it was put back. So, if it comes back, all we have to do is cut its heart out and set up an altar where we keep it pinned forever. Oh, yeah. It'll just never come back. That's perfect. It's so easy to put an altar together and take its heart. And you know that ritual as well, right? Listen, we got time to investigate. There's a library in town as far as I think. It's that big of concern.
I think that part's kind of already done. Because wherever it's getting brought back, that's where maybe its heart is. Heart, whatever that is. I know we don't want to talk about it. But maybe we should investigate the school we found, because it seems like these writers are tied to that. We definitely are. And it seems like these writers might be more of an issue for us than we thought they would be. We buried that thing But needs so much rock and ice I mean, it'd be hard for us to get it But the writers are still out there And they don't have anything better to do than to dig, I guess And wait for us for a week on a road I don't know, what do you think, Bogran I can put this on right now And with Colgott's help, we can know exactly where they are.
That might be an advantage. Okay. No, don't put it on. For all we know, it turns into one of those things. I have no, like, that sounds crazy. Oh, yeah, you know exactly where they are because now you're one of them. Like, we don't want to do that. Colgoth would kind of defend himself. Like, just kind of, it's like, I would never do that to you. Like, just kind of, it's like, it's like, hey, I think I would tell him if it, you know, but like he's, but like in the back of your mind, like in your head, he's, it's like, it's like, mm-hmm, no one. Six is the manor seven in the dark with the face of his.
Yeah. Yeah. But he's pitching to a different audience than you. That's the same. Like he's. Yeah. Loggerne is visibly frustrated because like this is a whole nest of problems we inherited. That is like this is time and effort and danger that we should have been able to not have to continue. So he's like visibly frustrated. Like he's like pulling at his beard and kicking at the snow a little bit. Who do we even talk to about this? Weren't there some people in the vampire district, Ruby? Yeah, I mean, our friend there in the catacomb, she had a pretty strong reaction to whenever I showed her, even just a drawing of that skull.
I feel like she probably knows more than she said. Actually, I know she knows way more than she said to us. I'm not saying we should keep it. because I don't want to keep this damn thing. If I could bury it right now, as deep as that skull, I'd do it. On the other hand, we're caught up into something here. I know that. I'm not stupid. Maybe we get it back to Asterohold. Take it back to her. See what we got. See what we can do with it. See if it answers any questions. Hey, she's got a bunch of junk in her in her catacums. Maybe just leave it there. I don't know.
But I kind of think on one hand I want to get rid of it. On the other hand, if it can help us get out of trouble, just because we know where the trouble is, that's not something to shake a stick at. Hi, Mira. Mm-hmm. Can Colgoth guarantee that you could take it off after putting it on? Colgoth isn't going to let anything bad happen to me. And he's not going to let anything bad happen to you. Remember, he's the one who kept us shielded from the writers. in the first place when we were burying that skull. All of us. That wasn't a yes or no. Damn, it never works on you.
I need a rub. I just need a rub. Right here. That was. Like, it's not untrue. It was a very Fox News answer. We're just, well, I believe in America. And maybe we should, you know, it was a very blusterous answer that didn't answer the question. Well, and I'm going to reach back in. Like, can I take it off if I put this on? Or am I stuck with this? I'm going to reach back in. I never see. said you could take it off once you put it on to be fair, but I do appreciate you speaking up for me. I did give you shield. Look, I can look into a way to get this off of you, but there is something else.
You would know what it knows, what it knows, what it is, where it comes, what it is, where it comes from. And I can almost guarantee you with 98% certainty that it will not merge with your personality. Can we just zoom out the camera? So he goes, let me check with Colga. 30 seconds goes by. I, Niter turns to Lauren. I don't think the answer is yes. I think he's always stuck with it on. I think it's always the worst answer possible, generally. He just like internally converses with Colgoth. What does it look like, by the way? I've always wondered this. When Camerra talks to Colgoth internally, is he like, I don't expect he's speaking aloud, but is he like emoting to himself and like kind of like nodding.
Is it on the phone? Is it? Do you just work out? Like, how does it look? I think with all of you, because all of you are trusted, like, there is a little, like, play on his face and like, maybe even nodding, like, he's in conversation or something like that. If it were anybody else, you would have an immaculate poker face, like, absolutely nothing. But, yeah, I think you can tell now that he's, like, talking for sure. Um, okay. Well, it wouldn't come off right away. The benefit of that is not only would we know where they are, but we would also know a lot more information about them.
And that's a double-edged sword a little bit. But what we could do, it's. It seems like we have to take this thing with us, at least to find out more information about it. Maybe we don't have to put it on right away. But there might come a point or when we find out more about it that we might need to. It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. You know what I mean? I don't understand why we can't just put it in the box. I feel like we keep coming back to this box thing, guys. We keep going around and wrong. He worked for the bomb.
It is a cool box. It is a cool box. I just want to go on the record. Even Cole Gutts said that was a bad idea. I can imagine like big Hulk hands, though, with these. He's evil. Let's see. All right. Let's play pros and cons. Bro, we bring the glove with us. We know where these things are. Even though all it does is give us a way to maybe be able to predict when they're going to come for us. Con, maybe you turn evil. Maybe you can't take the glove off. Maybe it leads them directly to us or directly to somebody we care about if we leave it with the vampires and they slaughter everybody.
Pro of leaving it here. None of that happens. Con of leaving it here. Nothing. Well, they might get it back. They'll get it back eventually or somebody else finds it. But if we kick it down the hail over there, I think it'll be okay. Is it? What hand is it? Right or left? Left. Left. Oh, well. Con, it's left. And I use my left hand for. Well, we don't have to get that. Don't. Yeah, that's fine. Oh, I can't. Like, I mean, anything. That's my stranger. Maybe pro. Maybe pro. Actually, what I'm thinking about it. Hang on. Ow. For most people, no. But chimera? I don't know. I don't know.
That's weird. It's true. It's weird. It's called the scale mail, M-A-L-E. It is. Oh, no. Oh, no. The sponsor of the show. The sponsor of the show. Well, chimera, I know. It's important to you that we acknowledge Koldos' contribution, so I just want to thank you and him for giving us any information. I'd vote for just leaving it here. I'm with logger on this. I don't... They might get it back, and they had it before. Oh, wow. I think it just gives them another avenue to track us if we have it with us. I got to say, I disagree. And I like Ruby's idea. I think we don't have to make a decision now about putting it on, which not only will tell us where they are, but will tell us what? they are.
And where they go to. So we could be proactive. But we don't have to make a decision about that now. We don't have to figure that out right now. But we can bring it back with us to find out more about it and more about them and see if that's a decision we should make. I feel like Ruby would be swayed by chimera's passion about this. She trusts chimera to some to a lot of degree, but, you know, whenever it's this kind of thing, she's just, I don't know what the answer is, but... How far are we from Esterholt now? Anybody know? I don't even know how long we've been driving.
Oh, God. So, I hate to pile on. But we got to talk about that. And James and might kill me. Like, I just, like, just to keep on another thing, you know, you're very goal-oriented and like these are complications. So Gearheart's in a bad way. And I think all this time you're assessing your, you know, and if you've ever had a car breakdown on the side of the road, or you've ever had an unreliable vehicle. My first few cars were very unreliable. And they would stall out. They would just not start. They would backfire. They would all kinds of stuff. So if everything was operating tip top and nothing got in your way, you guys are about five, five and a half days out for Master Hold.
As things stand, you are not certain this is going to make it. What you do know, is that you're putting a lot of stress on it right now. Repairs have to be made. So there's a couple of options. You can begin repairs on this, and it's going to take a while. There's substantial damage, right? That could take a week. in total. The other option is, you know this thing takes blood, and you know it heals itself. So if you found a substantial enough creature and you just kind of let it drain out over the gear heart, that would be a solution, that comes with its own side effect, depending on what you put, in it, but like, you know, it's never been anything bad.
The fur interior was weird. But you know. You know my vote, guys. The one that involves stabbing. Yes. So, Ruby's moved on from the gauntlet. She doesn't have an answer for that, obviously. She's just going to be assessing the Gehrart, moving on for a second. She's going to put her hands on her hips at some point. Big sigh. She's going to look at Logrin. It's going to take me as much time to fix it as it was to make it. I feel like if we're stuck out here, we've got a target on our back, and she's going to point at the gauntlet. We're just sitting ducks. I do think we should take it back to Estherhold and just get some information.
And if we got there in a day from now and we found it was bad, I could drive it out of town, drop it anywhere you want me to. But the thing is, I don't think we can get very far. Not the way this is. And there's like right then, it's like, just like, just being coming out of it. I'm a cat, yeah. Yeah. The forge core. Whatever it is, the forge core. Like the whole car, Ruby covers her face. And like leans to the left. Like, nobody else does it. But she said, yeah. I mean, it's. God. Thankfully, we established that that is kind of in the center under the seats, like laying down.
If we establish that being in the hood where an engine would go, holy shit. Like, that would have sucked. So, Lagerin, he's over with where Ruby is now. But he turns around and he points at the gauntlet. And he says, nobody touched that. Do we decide what to do? And he makes eye contact with Camara. And then he's going to turn his attention back to Ruby. And kind of just take a minute. Very, yeah, there's your problem right there type of posture. You know. And he goes, you know what I'm thinking? Yeah, I think I'm thinking it too. I'm thinking those door guard cheated us.
Oh, I was thinking about something else. Entirely. But that makes sense. Sorry. Sorry. Look at all the damage. Look at all the damage. Was that a gauntlet, a sword. Look at all my gun to do it over in the corner there. It's supposed to be at a mantine. It's supposed to be the hardest metal in creation. I'm shooting buckshot. There's no way. Yeah. I don't think that this is what they said. No, all of that is there. She's going to point at the bottom of the gear heart. She's like, that's that. Rest of it, that was, you know. No, I don't know. What's it made out of cardboard?
It sticks and wax, basically. Leather and some straps and little. A little bit of glue. Okay. Okay. Hold up. Here's the thing. The skeleton of this thing is all adamanty. Right? And the rest is a blend. They didn't grind up pure. You realize how heavy that would be? I didn't even wait at one point. It was around the size of a large bear, if I remember. It is very heavy already. Just the frame is very heavy. But it is It already takes the forge court to move it. And it's doing a very good job. And it's haunted. So it's got baggage. Then he kicks it and says, fuck you, Jesse.
Yeah, exactly. I think Ruby would also get that defensive about it too. She'd be like, no, it's actually, no. Come on, now. This is good stuff. Yes, we could make a mark two. Yeah, we could do some better stuff. But it's actually not bad at all. What I was thinking was, and she's going to point at Nithera. She's good at making blood. The Gearheart's real good at taking it. She doesn't, okay. I mean, she doesn't make the blood, but I understand what you're saying. I'm not being literal. I understand. I'm good at getting things to produce blood. Can everybody understand what I meant here?
I got it right away. I'm very frustrated. I'm taking things right now. It's like a little out, yeah. It's just arguing in the world. It feels like a real argument that one bit of pedantic. It's like you fucking got what I was saying. Like it needs it. It's being more literal and I should be. I'm sorry. All right. We can get down the road probably a little bit longer. Maybe. Probably all right. I don't think we can make it back to Esther hold at all unless we take a lot of time. And the truth of the matter is, is that I don't even have everything I need to make this be okay.
And when we have a magically repairing car, why wouldn't we take advantage of that property? I can tell you exactly why. It's because every time something bleeds on it, it grows far. or it talks to us or some weird thing happens. That's cool. It's real cool. I just saw a dog with Camara's face on it. I can't handle anything else happening to this car. That was Colgoth. That wasn't the car. Loggerne takes a little walk. He has to walk away from me. He's like flexing his hands and you can hear. He's speaking. Night there can understand him because he's speaking to work.
But he's cursing up and down. He's just razum frasm all the whole way. You know. Parheel. Yeah. Well. Well. Should we camp? Get some rest. Think about in the morning or maybe we could get down the road a little bit further. I don't want to be anywhere near that. thing if it comes back. I would like to camp near the heated vehicle instead of out in the blizzard. That's my vote. Wasn't it? Were we in a snowstorm or was that days before? I think it was days before. It's my eternally snowing? Well, it's in an area of the country where at least it's, you know, temperate sometimes. winter.
God, this phrase is ruined, but winter is coming. And like, you know, yeah, it's like who you're going to call. The good news is the Gearheart stays abnormally warm for several hours after deactivating, which is probably the radiation. Of course, it's just dumping out into your bones. Like, just. I love it. See? We put a gondon. We're all getting doomed anyway. We're having our lives reduced by years, just by driving down the road. Hey, radio activity poisoning hasn't been discovered yet. So it doesn't exist. Oh, we're discovering it. We're discovering it right now.
We've made a lot of discoveries in this group. I can't wait to get that alternate Dr. Blight artwork. That's going to be so killer. I've got an idea. It's late. We've been attacked. The Gearheart's about to fall apart. We've got a magic gauntlet that's evil. How about everybody piling what's left of the gear heart? It'll be fine for a little bit. I'm wide awake. I'm wired. There's no way I'm sleeping. tonight. I'll drive as far as we can. Y'all get some sleep. No, we're in a good spot now. It's late. Just everybody, just camp up. I don't want to risk damaging it further.
Ruby, you can take first watch if you insist. I'll take all the watches, honestly. No. I... You could take second watch, but I'm going to be right there with you. I'm wide awake. I'm not going to sleep tonight. I don't even know what attacked us, and I think it's behind us. So, whatever. But yeah, I'll take first watch. That's a way we could know. Go to sleep, chimera. All right, but I want names for tomorrow. What you think a good name would be for a dog. Do you think it's possible that I can successfully never see this thing? Because it sounds terrible. Yeah, just close your eyes.
She's never seen it, right? I'll let you know. That's what you ask. Once you see it, you can't on see it. It looks a lot like this and I just point to my own face. Maybe it'll be a different dog next time that one did go away very gruesomely. Maybe it's just a different one each time, you know. Do you want to know what is happening each time? So okay. It takes a minute for it to dispel, right? So it exists and it gets used to it. And then just before it is dismissed, it understands that it's about to end. And just has an existential dread every single time it's on God.
Oh, so it's like a severance dog. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. That is a hell. I hate that. That's true. That is awful. That is awful. It's a demon dog. But I just feel bad for it. Right, but it wasn't a good dog in life. Like, you know, like... You're no bad dog. Shut up. Well, it went to hell for a reason. I'm just saying. I don't. I don't know. What is a passing moral judgment on dogs? It was a very specific one. Wow. So did it go to a pork job? I just wanted to be a... boost for a second to start this conversation exactly. Did it go to hell with chimera's face? Is it already like that?
Was that just a coincidence? He got the upgrade on the way back up. Yeah. It's like an ID badge. As we're making camp, I want Logrin to do something sneaky. All right. Very sneaky character. Yeah, famously sneaking. He is at some point probably as people start to go to sleep, although that's really just Camara. If Ruby's not going to sleep in Night Thera, it doesn't sleep. She'll definitely eventually fall asleep. That's all. She's just assuming she won't, but she's going to crash. Lager probably knows that too, but he's headed serious. He's like, all right, she's out.
Okay. He is at some point going to get under the front of the. of the car, very, you know, mechanic style. Cut his palm and grip on to some of the undercarriage of the car and try to basically like plug it in, basically, you know. How many hit points you want to give it? Give it 30. Oh, you're really hurting yourself. Wow. So you're, yeah, you're cut. I'll use my Dwarven Tough. I'll get myself bonus hit points. So, okay, if we look at your hit points, your total hit points has all the blood in your body, let's say. I don't know if that that's... I know, I know, I know, I know, I know.
Look, you know what I mean. Like, that's... Like, that's... I'm like, that's... So, you were, how much of that is your total? Like, is that half your hip points? It's about 50%. If I use Dwarven Toughness, it's less than 50%. Okay. Okay. Basically, so here's the thing. I, as a person, donate blood pretty frequently, and it sucks. And you get to a point where you're like, please don't take any more. That's where I want a lot of it again. Okay. It's to the point where his lips go numb. And then he's going to stop and manage up his hand. So do you want to do a stealth check to see?
Like, okay, I don't even know if that's necessary. Because if you're just under the car and someone asks, you're doing another car, it's like, I'm just looking around. Like, no one's going to think. Yeah, if anything, that's a deception check, right? Yeah. It's like, oh, poor choice. would have fixed this. Like, you know what I mean? If Ruby saw Logger underneath a car, she would just assume that he's, you know, trying to fix stuff anyway. She wouldn't think twice about it. She'd fall back asleep. And I think the only, Nythira's technically in her trance, she'd be inside the car.
So she wouldn't see him doing that. Yeah. Give me a D-10. Now, hold on. a scale of 1 to 10, we're going to see what the gear heart does with this blood. Like, how helpful is this mutation going to be? It's going to do something. It's going to heal it. It's going to start fixing it. But what side effect are we getting? This should be a D12. 100%. I was going to click the D12 anyway. Would you like it to be a D12? Yes, yes. Yes. Yes. On scale, one of 12, Jason, do the conversion. Yeah. Sure. If you have 60 blood in your body, then we can do a D12. That's fine. Oh, my God.
All right. Here we go. Six. Half. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. So the Gearhart has a stat block. And I think it's about time to publish that stat block on Patreon. Mm-hmm. So. So. You're going to go, you know, just like, kind of there's, there's all kinds of like bent pieces underneath and stuff like it. And for the most part, again, you could see the chassis underneath. You could see, you know, the axle, strut, all that stuff. I don't know what's under a car. Don't fucking. I'm not a mechanic. All right. Yeah. There's an axle, I think. There's an axle. There's at least one.
I know there's at least one. I'm pretty sure there's an axle rod also. There's like a pushpin or something. There's actually gross. I'm just going to name things. So some car person out there has a stroke. Is it a dip. Is it a dip? Carperator? Yeah. Yeah, there's one under a car. So. So you're going to you're going to. grip this and you're going to see any bent parts just start to like, boom. And it's going to start. There are two major holes that you can see clean out. You can look up. Stop it. You can look up and you can see where the sword went through. You can see where the shotgun, you know, took out a big chunk.
And you could start to see those seal up a little bit. So let's put a number on it and say the car was, you know, it was mechanically screwed up to the point where you've taken four to ten off of that, right? Still messed up. But like, okay, wow. But you could get down the road if you wanted to now. It might do some damage eventually. But like, you've probably got your. off a couple of days. Recognizing that we still don't have a shop, it would, you know, we went from a week to repair it to probably roughly have. Like four days. Yeah. Like three, four days.
Somewhere there. But you're also going to notice, like your heart lowering. Like, it's getting closer to your head, your face. Like, it's lowered by at least a few inches. to the point now where it's like, oh, that's not great. And you just kind of like, you know, it doesn't lower anymore. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. All right. Yeah, so Logren is A, lightheaded and now be nervous. That the ground clearance isn't enough to get his armored ass out of there. So he's going to. Well, it could never crush you, right? Like, it's never going to. It would just bring me. and you guys would find feet in the morning.
Like a wizard. Just gently snoring underneath. But if you like shuffle out from underneath here. It'll take longer. It'll be hard. But he'll, especially because he's lightheaded. Right. But yeah, he gets out and he does that. And then he continues. I imagine it ended up being his first watch anyway. Yeah. So when you get out and you look back at the car. Everywhere but those holes, because they're starting to heal up, but along the sides of the car and a hood. And everywhere but where there'd be glass like you could see out, there are inch-thick stone plates.
Covering this vehicle. I'm sure you were going to say it had a beard and I was going to... That was if you wrote a little lower. I swear to God, that was on the list. Oh, man. It's like reverse truck nuts. Like, it's just a beard in the front. It didn't lower because it was becoming dwarf. Like, it lowered because it has all this extra stone on it. Is that? Yes. It is dramatically heavier. But the AC just went up a lot. If someone wants to stab through it now, they're going to have a tough time. Your top speed is less. I'm just going to let you know that now. It took a little. little bit of Flogrin.
Like, it definitely took some inspiration. Also, opening the door as a feat now. Like, you're going to have to like, yeah. And definitely, if you park on a hill, watch, because it'll lop your feet clean off. If you don't, like, hold it open when you're getting in. Like, get a strength of that. E break, yeah. Yeah. Is the gauntlet still in the snow where we left it? No one touched it. I believe. Like, I must have anyone else wants to do something sneaky. well. Okay, no. He kind of goes to just stand in front of it and he's looking down on it and he looks back and he's thinking about the box.
He's thinking about Cole Goff. He's thinking about all the different options. Um, but, uh, yeah, he ends up just kind of setting up. next near by it where he can see it. But he's not going to touch it yet. He doesn't decide what to do yet. He'll finish his watch without having disturbed it. And I feel like if you, like, the gang's always kind of near the gear heart because there's got to be at least a 10 foot radius on this thing where there's heat output. If it's parked for a long time in a place like the snow melts, the like it's like, it's like, If you knew about radiation, like that obviously would be troubling.
But you're sitting just a little bit further than that, just sitting in the snow looking at this climate. And I think that's a good time for us to stop for the evening day. That was really good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Damn. I turned into something other than what I thought it would, but it was cool. Yeah. Me too. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm so torn because there's so much I want to know. But I also know that... We should never... Yeah. We should never look at this thing again. But I want to come here to put it on. But I don't... I think what really stuck with me is when Logrim pointed out that they could track it back to Esther Holt where the kids are.
And now Ninth Year is going to be like, let's not take it to Esther Holt. That's why I should. She's so like, let's not. Because we've put them in danger enough.
