Turns out the miners dug somewhere they shouldn't have, chasing a copper contract with a deadline nobody wanted to miss, and demons like that never show up alone. We cut a deal to go finish the job properly, headed into the mine, and found the real mess waiting for us. Not one devil, but a nest of them. Chimera went down pretty hard, got back up, tried some very persuasive infernal words on one that did not want to lay down.

And just when we thought we had a handle on it, the wall gave out behind us. And that's where the water came from. This time on Frostborn, the fight continues. And so does the water. Where we all end up is not a whole lot drier, but it is a whole lot deeper. All yours, Jason. Let's do that thing where we go around the table and introduce ourselves. I'm Jason. That's a good tombstone. Hell. Okay, guys. Last time, you know what fucking happened, but we're going to go over. There were a group of miners that you guys rescued from a bone devil. And you realized that you realized that, In the mind that they're working, they probably unleashed a trio of bone devils. And you were essentially hired to go in there and clear them out. And that was is continued. It's continuing. It is a nasty fight. And in the midst of it, it's always the enemy who rolls a crit and then a two. And then a natural disaster occurs. So a wall is obliterated and there is just hundreds of thousands of gallons of water flooding this place.

So what we're going to do first is I need a constitution saving throw from everyone. It's going to be a high one. Question. Can I plant my tower shields as a free action? because I get a bonus to this, save, if it's planted. So, okay. Let me do something. Let me do something here. Because we are still in initiative. And I know I don't want to just throw initiative out the way so that everyone can prepare for, you know, what? I'm going to say that one's okay. because it's a free action, which means it's the fastest possible thing. It's just you're going bunk.

Like, that I'll allow. Potions and other things, I got to say, I can't. I just have a, I don't want to do anything. I just have a question. Sure. And I didn't want to do the thing where if you're standing closer to it, it's even harder to get away.

It's that much water. It's all difficult. Right. So I'm going to include him in this. But there, there might be like a factor that that we'll get into just a bit. You would think that con would be affected, but it doesn't seem like it is.

So I got an 11. Okay. Well, the bone devils also have to roll. That's nuts. Okay. That's crazy. Uh, 21 for first bone devil. They're con save stupid. Uh, okay. Okay. Well. All right. So. Let me come back to that in just one moment because I want to advance to the next round. Technically, we're still in initiative. And I want to honor that. Oh, should we roll? Oh, okay. So let me. On your turn, you may use an object interaction to plant in the ground getting half cover, half cover grants plus two bonus to AC, dexterity, saving thirds, and ability checks made to none of those are applicable here.

One of these demons is, going to get swept away. That, that crit one and the utter failure with their con save is enough to eliminate one of them.

They are gone. Which one? So that's going to be the one with more health, thankfully. Oh, okay. Oh. Oh. Oh. Now, just bomb. Nythera and Khmerer holding on for dear life to each other and this like, screaming bone demon just full for us. I think that's the one that rolled it too. So. Oh, yeah, that's fair. The disaster. Oh, yes. Nick. So. This is going to come on so fast that those of you who rolled a 15 or higher, you were essentially swimming before you're not prone. Like, it's, you dive in. to it. And you're swimming. Now, that doesn't mean you're safe. That means you're not being washed away and obliterated.

Right. So. The placement of you guys, chimera and Nythera are closest to the deluge. That initial blast. Then not far behind about 15 feet away is Ruby, then Logren, then demon, right? So Logren's going to be washed further back. into this cavern, right? But we're going to honor initiative roles. So anybody who rolled a 15 or higher has essentially a split second to do something before people are going to get battered around and stuff. Because what is essentially going to happen is this is a cave where you guys are surrounded by sharp things. You know, there's bits of ground and gravel and stalactites, stalactites.

I don't know which is which. that's for the vulcanologist. Which one is which? I'm not going to dedicate it to memory because I've been told that. Might hit you in the ass. Stalactite has a C. Yep, stalactites hold tight. Also has a C in it for sealing. And stalag might is on the ground. Stalag might. I'm sorry. I even pronounced it wrong. Okay, I'm a failure. God, now I don't know where to go with this.

Question. So I think Ruby was grappled as we ended the last. Yeah. And I'm curious where what's happening with status effects because of this deluge. Well, is this thing still grabbing onto me and flying away? You know, like, flashing away or letting go because of it. Well, it rolled a 21 for its con save. So it's maybe even on firmer footing than you. So wonderful. That's what I wanted. That's great. A creature can use its action to attempt to escape. It must succeed on a strength or dexterity saving throw against you, against your maneuver DC. So in this case, obviously, the demons maneuver DC.

Strength or decks. Thanks. That's good news. Okay. I mean, I don't, especially under the circumstances, what I don't think would happen is Ruby's not going to try to stay in combat. What she's going to try to do is not drown. So it's basically stop pulling me under or, you know, whatever, whatever this thing might be doing. So I do think her action would be to ungrapple herself if possible. I have lots of other things I'd rather do. But I feel like that's going to be the right way to go. Right. So deck saving throw? What was it? It's a stronger decks. Yeah. Decks were straight saving throw though, right?

You're not just going to tank, you know, the thousands of pounds of force that would come with, you know, it's like being hit by a car. No one, you know, but this is how advantageous of a position are you going to be in to help yourself from taking damage and getting damage and getting. Right. So I'm going to say just freeing yourself. This is, this is you bracing yourself and then get the fuck off me. And I think that's going to put the demon off because it could have probably used you as part of an anchor.

Like it's like, oh, like I got you hooked in. And he had a great con save. But yeah. So I think that's it. I think that's basically like one like one kind of It's a my action. Yeah. Yeah. Because I've got a couple of combat actions I can take, right? I have an extra extra attack. Right. We're not there, right? There's no way. Yeah, I agree. First of all, you can't beat that. But like, there's no way your head would be on straight for. It's like, and now I attack what, you know, it's how, like, how much time would it take for water to fill that? Well, that much water to fill that space would be a fraction of a second or two.

Like it's, you know. Nifer, you are muted. Oh, sorry. I just need a clear idea of where this water is coming from. Is it coming from the entrance we came through? Or is it like in the wall? Like. It would be. So, okay, if there was more map, it would be essentially like, yeah, like here. I can't. Okay. You get it. Yeah. Okay. So it's coming from the way we came in. That's beautiful. So for listeners and people, that no one's going to be able to see the screen.

So if I'm going to be able to see the screen. like 40 feet that would get me out of the initial stream. No, there's no way to avoid that at this point. Like it is just that is happening. This is what are you doing to get ready for that? Like this is you have 200 years of two centuries of experience and elves are pretty good swimmers by and large. But yeah. Okay. So I'm going to going to assess real quick, seeing this bone demon, be swept away. I have moments to figure out my next move. Do I see any protrusions to hold on to on the wall? Yeah. Like, let's say you kind of got, like, like, damn it, I'm still selecting the vulva.

If I, like, if you just like, like, try to hang on, like, down here or something like that, right? Like, you're hanging on to that. Like, you're hanging on to that. Like, It would be a crazy check to, you know what I mean? But if anything, it could help slow. If you can get to the point where the water isn't filling the space but has filled it or something, then you just got to worry about drowning, right? You just got to get past that initial. Genuinely, I thought the character with the least to worry about in this specific portion of the danger is Logrin.

We're going to get to Logren. Because the problem is you get that much, you know, force and momentum rolling behind what is essentially a boulder. And we'll see what happens. Yeah. Okay. So I could, but in this round, just understime, and I could do, I could do action, bonus action. I, it would probably be something like athletics or strength save, something like that. It would be, yeah. So here's what I'm thinking. Because I have a utility. kit. I'm basically like a Batman over here. Because I have grappling hook. Tide to rope already. I have manacles. So essentially, I know I won't be able to do this all this round, but my long-term cold.

Manicle me and Kimer are together so we can't get separated. Grappling hook to the wall. Okay. That. That. I can't do that this round. I understand. Right. No. I don't want us to get separated. Rip off Kymir's arm. Like, I would have met. Manacles are more like it's not like handcuffs. Neither of us are strong boys. So I imagine that we're going to get swept away. For those out there, manacles are essentially thick bracelets with chain between its hand cuffs, but I guess, slightly more secure, really. Yeah. Because handcuffs are thin bits of metal that would really dig into it. Manacles are just like, bam. It's like a Wonder Woman bracelets, but you know, chain together. Which is, yeah. Yeah, I was like, I can hug him, but again, I have an eight strength. We're going to get separated and a heartbeat. And he had show muscles. There's no way I'm going to be able to hold on to the wall. Like, you could stab him and hold on to him like a hook.

Yeah, you could do that. You can definitely do that. He's probably probably more affected. Almost dead. I don't want to do 40 damage against him and kill him. What a way to go. It's how I would want to go. But then you get a stole or whatever. Like you can just like, I'm glad it was you. Yeah. But I think essentially I'm just going to like, hug him from behind. As we're both like, oh, daughter bearings, hug him from behind, but then I'm instantly going to think, I don't want to get separated. Even, not even thinking about it that much, she knows where her manacles are and grabs him.

One to her wrist, one to his wrist. How does Kim, here react to that? It's by the way. Is that soothing? I don't imagine it would be soothing. You are being hugged. There's a... being hugged. I imagine there's like, there's a lot going. We'll get to what Kamira does on his turn. But immediate reaction is there's a lot going on. The wall just burst. All this water is coming out. Now he's being hugged and manacled. And this is chaos. And to Kamira, that is where he thrives, right? It's dangerous and it's crazy. But this is chaos. So he is going to live. lean in to whatever is going on here.

I think I'll use the grappling hook next round. Or you could grab it from my back. You know it's there. So I thought a lot about this. And I need you to know that I'm not pulling punches. But I genuinely think, A, this would be cool as shit. And two, it makes sense. And I can, I can break down the math of it. So this bone demon had a wicked, wicked constitution Right. Logren did not. I imagine Logren being swept back with such force that it strikes the demon right behind him like a pool ball. And that buys him. It's like he adopted the save just for a moment, right?

Whatever happens after that, it's on your merit. But I genuinely think it would hit. Like, how many hundreds of pounds is that? Like, we've talked about like, the. the size of that armor. Well, I'm carrying 300 pounds. And Largon himself is probably a smooth 250. Right. So that's kind of, yeah. So you're a weapon at that point, right? Your debris. He comes in like a wrecking ball. Uh-huh. Ha. I genuinely. So if you're able to pay attention. Because I imagine you just get hit in the chest with this and you, you fly back. You're going to strike that demon. The demon is going to get swept away with this water.

Wherever this water is going. And that's, that's going to buy you a moment instead of getting you swept clean out of here like the demons. Whatever happens on your turn happens on your turn. But for now, the demons are off the board. Whether you get taken with them or to them, we don't know yet. That brings up logger. Okay. Okay. So is Logrin able to, like, how? This doesn't feel like the right would ask this question, but I'm going to ask it. How deep is the water? I would say you didn't move because you hit the demon and you just kind of like, yeah.

All right. So in my action, as a free action, I will replant the shield because I imagine I tried, I fumbled. I just, bings the guy out of there. So I'm going to replant the shield as a free action. Can I see Ruby? Yeah, Ruby's next to you. I mean, the water's going to make it hard to see anyone. but like she's adjacent. Yeah, you might see like limbs. Yeah, Ruby didn't move moments. You know, moments before Ruby was right there. And all of a sudden, there's a big thing happening. And Ruby didn't go anywhere. So going to grapple Ruby. Oh. Basically, and I'll make a roll for it if you want, against the water, or against if she's going to resist me or whatever.

Oh, no, no, no. He's basically going to grab her by, like, the scruff and pull her behind her. behind the cover of the shield. So that essentially the water is breaking like in a rectangle around her in the area that he dragged her. Okay. Uh, give me. Okay. Give me an athletics check, but I'm looking for like 14. Can I assist? I. Are you trained to have a little? Oh. Uh, am I? Yes, I am. Yes, I am. I sure am. Well, then yes. Yes, you can. Okay. Then here we're. That's a deep one. How's it? How's a 10? So what that means is probably the water that's cresting over and around the shield is probably like hitting him directly in the face. Much like when you sit in the backseat in a flume ride. Exactly. Wherever the water is coming from at them, he is going to try and buy them, Seconds, split seconds, because that is all he can do for whatever Nythira is going to do. And as the water is like coming at them or whatever force, he is going to fire the biggest Eldritch blast that he can muster into the water, this force energy to sort of like push back against it in a very localized way to just give them any amount of time. time extra that they can, that they can have not getting hit by this thing.

So Nex Thera can do whatever it is she's going to do. Now, I'm, I'm a man of science, but I'm not a man who knows science. So I don't, I can't tell you what the effect. I know that there's thousands of pounds of pressure. You know what I mean? It'd be like, you know, getting it. Like if you fall from a, you know, a height into water, it's not breaking your fall any better than if you fell on concrete, you know, in some respect. So I'm going to say that's cool. And I would say you firing into this just as it's about to meet you, would soften the blow enough that it doesn't powder your bones on impact.

Right. That's what we're shooting for. That's what we're shooting for. That's what the entire round's been about. Right. That's what this entire round's been about. Like, Jameson's got the right idea. You know, get behind something to take that. initial bit of force. Then you just got to worry about drowning. Like, that's the next bit. So I would, like, roll me an attack roll as long as it in a crit miss, you're fine. Okay. Jesus. I know. For Camara. I don't have any more inspiration. Do you get inspiration for someone else? And just like, it is going to just watch you back, right? That's happening. You are not going to be able to horse stance your way through a title wave. But I am happy to say none of you are going to take damage from this part.

Even though that guy outside honked and he was not. Well, I'm not. It's not over. Well, it is for that guy. It is for that guy. That guy's not happy. But I'm happy. I'm happy. Now, I thought a lot about this part too. This, like, we're already through a big hurdle. That should deal a crushing amount of damage. And I'm going to say that it's like, hey, we're going to operate on the assumption that you were ready for this impact. Boom, you're, you're, you're into it now. Logren's not going to be able to swim his way out of this, probably. Because he's wearing the water temple boots.

And that's not going to work out. So you guys have to be able to swim his way out. have, it does limit your options. So this is a group check challenge at this point, I think, right? So you either have to swim for long enough that the water just runs out. And then you're left flopping around like fish and like you catch your breath. But you don't know how much water there is. So, I mean, drowning is a possibility. Or you try to gently as a. Is possible go where the water's taking you? But not, you know, flopping around a direction list. Like you're not being swept away.

It's like, okay, let's ride this out like a water ride and try to get, get off on a, you know, like a safe way. Or a third thing that you guys think of. But I'm just going to run this like a like a challenge. And yeah. So we're going to, we're going to do an issue. And whatever the order is, we're just, we're going to hope more of you succeed than fail. And if it's a tie, we'll do something tie breakery. Hmm. Okay.
